Since the Ithica Saga dropped last night my brain has not known a single moment of peace. "Would You Fall in Love with Me Again" is just so insanely perfect for a Machine Herald Viktor x Reader AU it makes me physically ill. Like, seriously:

Viktor is so Odysseus coded it is PAINFUL. The pain of sacrificing so much of himself to survive. The regret of everyone he's had to leave behind, to betray. The ghosts of his legacy haunting his mind. All for his goal, the one thing he knows he's meant to do with every fiber of his being. Nothing, neither magic nor gods, will stop him from fulfilling that dream. He will not be the same once all has passed, and he will never regain all that he's lost. Can the person who loved him the most as he was before still love this version of him?

Kaeya keeps talking about fate. He keeps mentioning it somehow.

On some occasions, he talks about wanting to change or reject fate - to take a step back or exit the stage. Most of the time, he actually ponders on its inevitability.

It's as if his life is under fate's grip to the point that this "fate" is the reason for everything to him.

To name just a few voicelines off the top of my head:

"-destined to be doomed together" (GAA), " Alas, is this fate's grand design?" (Kaeya story quest)," It's up to the whims of fate." (imaginarium theater)

We, however, have been hearing things about fate for quite some time now...namely the most notable one being the Loom of Fate that was carried by Caribert, an Alberich, for several centuries. It's a specific item(?) that could allegedly alter the leylines and change the story. (change fate, as Kaeya wishes to do)

Finally, Mavuika said, " There are those with the power to see the future. They simply call it by a different name - fate." (5.0 AQ) (fate is inevitable, as Kaeya warns us)

This is making me anxious for him...

In this final year of covid 5th year eligibility, reflecting on the policy’s effects and impacts, looking at examples from across the top teams in the ncaa, it seems clear to me that it primarily just made programs build around core stars who got to stick around for an extra year. To the detriment of developing underclassmen to fill those stars’ shoes. It really interrupted the flow of some teams and how they tended to set the future up for themselves imho.
