And on this Valentine’s I almost broke down in tears at a wife’s dedication to her heart surgeon husband whose brain is deteriorating with a rare case of dementia

#I shadowed the doctor for the first time today and almost broke down in tears multiple times listening to her talk about her story #he performed his last heart surgery last October. and ever since he’s been fading away and had to retire. rapid onset but behavior changes #were happening over the last like 6 years #this HEART SURGEON BRAINIAC started chewing tobacco in his 60s beyond his wife’s knowledge. a very common sign of this brain disease #I’m still in clinic but have to ride down to the office and get some chart stuff done now and I’m like?? spiraling about it still #at least love is real. they’ve been married for 45 years and she’s on top of her shit taking caring of him all by herself #and she only has glowing things to say about him #she wants her heart surgeon husband back but he’s fading away #I’ve wanted to be a doctor my whole life but I’m such a crybaby OK I’m going now #happy valentine’s day #p #v day

#or smth smth. having a lot of Thoughts. anyways here's the piece i've been working on and sometimes u have to just say Done #there's a lot of thinks but i am maybe a bit tired and so tmr i'll come in and add all the Tags that i'd personally want to get from myself #maybe i'll reblog the extras tmr too. this is an incredibly self indulgent piece + it probably deserves a tag ramble essay or smth #ig for now we see how it stands for itself + in the meantime:#adamandi #beatrix valeria campbell #hello!! i'm back with belated tags yippee!! alright so for funsies i'm going to make it sound like i'm going bonkers over this :3 #the eye shine... the glowy eye... it's like phaethon shine but also smth about eyes to windows to the soul and like #there's two beatrixes here! half the soul. lost part doing things specific to the phaethon and here it's portrayed as tearing off her name #because that's really; truly; when it all starts!! also notable for the ghostly beatrix is i did it more painterly and cloaked in shadow and #fading into the bg. i think i was super duper specificish about where the glow comes from! front lighting back lighting beloved!!! like help #let's put it this way- beatrix face always glowy. important parts of paper also glowy. it's just that different elements are turned away #from the viewer by each beatrix!! also also. let's talk about the very gently implied blood and red etcetera #like the red string is canonical and i love personally the whole red strings of fate thing even though it's not Here Applicable exactly but #that definitely was an influence! and also the blood in the bg... i'm starting to think this is a recurring trend. but anyway shadowy bea #the other strings hang while the red string loops!! so like that one string feels almost alive. it's a sort of whimsical i put on the same #as metaphorical glowy eye!! also also the eye is lowkey influenced by the whole idea of Eyes and Spotlights within the show and also glow #as in power as in heyyy you ever think about writing as a visual medium huh #speaking of writing!! there is no beatrix thingy complete in my head without text sorrry but the black text overlays are always so >>> to me #and in the sense of art styles and overlays shoutout to all the black crosshatching outline thingys because For Some Reason in my mind #of all the characters beatrix feels like the bnw ink printed illustrations you get in books idk #fun fact! i spent so long rendering this and that was fine i liked it! but then trying to figure out text to go on the papers was a Thing #i tried to do. but then gave up on! sometimes i have to pick my battles and graphic design is indubitably Not my passion bc Fonts #fun facts about this is i Actually did start with a quick sketch in mind and there's been so many changed elements. in the og the front #paper for instance had 'ardess murders' written on it and the back one said phaethon interviews.. i like the nominee list better it feels #more narrative-esque and less passive than her just holding her writing.! other elements that got discontinued were that #front beatrix was supposed to blur into the other ghostly beatrix but i couldn't do it without sacrificing clarity so... no... no blurry #oh and the red string morphing at the ends to smth more abstract was always there from the start!! og had more floating papers #and also a silhouette of vincent and a scalpel bc 'one who pulls the strings' but that (pun intended)! got cut (hahahahahahaha) (sorry)#used also to be a lot of print room clutter but that got cut to bc compositionally i made beatrix larger (learned lesson from last art)

infinite drawings 41-50, i want infinite to come back so we can have more long boi content. i love that worm off a string. hashtag justice 4 long boi. another fun fact is that i headcanon infinite to be illiterate. every instance you see of him using technology, hes using voice-to-text and tts screen readers. in the sonadow fanfic doodle hes typing along but he actually has the keyboard disabled bc otherwise it would just be gibberish, and thats why hes speaking as he types. when writing the words in the sand he just copied what was on his phone to the best of his ability after having it display what he wanted to write. his lack of education never got in the way of anything while he was working with eggman either; the empire surprisingly does not shirk on accessibility

TBH one of the best thing about Solo Leveling is the shadows' personalitites, whereas for Ragnarok it's their agency. And the implication of this (plus if we include how Ashborn's interactinos with his shadows) is interesting.

#it stuck to me while reading it that. because they are far more humanized now #they are also becoming their own agents even outside of what Suho asks them to do.#and their memories dont fade away either #for example #and this is #Solo Leveling Ragnaarok spoilers #btw #-Quay giving taegyu the code for the funds #-Kira's talk with taegyu and dogyun (ACTUALLY THAT ONE REALLY HURT ME DAUL.)#-Harmakhans and Jiwoo's banter #ect.#and the newer chaps ofc 258. I think its nice to see these interactions #since they are more than just quiet souls who linger around and fight( ashborn) or #souls who have their own thoughts and fun and maybe if their grade is big enough they talk and act more by their monster instinct (jinwoo)#solo leveling ragnarok #sl rag shadows

realizing its almost been 6 months since top surgery:)

#frank.txt #despite all the complications i had w healing im rlly happy w how my chest looks:)#ALTHOUGH. ONE BIG COMPLAINT #i used to use my bras as an extra pocket for my phone or lighter or whatever. but now i dont wear bras and therefore have no extra pocket #:( u win some u lose some :(#anyway all shirts look awesome on me now AND i can wear t shirts w funny text or image ans ppl wont feel awkward reading it:)#also the scars r fading rlly well! they almost blend in w my skin completely! (keyword almost. theyr still visible atp)#the way the scars r shaped is interesting bc theyre like a U shape. but bc of that when i inevitably build my pectoral muscles #the scars should blend into the shadow caused by thr muscle. i also dont have a Completrly flat chest bc im fat:0 #tbh my surgeon did rlly well . i have a lot of problems with him bc hes kind of a dick but from like. idk an artistic standpoint hes good #but the doctor standpoint hes Uhm. well i lost a nipple and had severe infection due to denied antibiotics and lack of aftercare #BUT. the lost nipple isnt visible and it looks normal now somehow AND. i didn't die from the infection so. I mean #i just had to spend christmas with a fever of 103 LMAO #HONESTLY THO i would do it again EVEN if i knew i would go thru hell bc this surgery fuckn saved my life holy shit #i didnt realize just how much i dissociated from my own body bc of dysphoria. now i feel more in touch with it and happy!:)#also now i can Eventually get that chest tattoo i wanted for like 7 years lmao #erm yippee:)
