Toying with a Wayhaven AU where UB are the vampire lords (gender neutral) ruling over the territory of Wayhaven: A and N make sure humans aren't killed - N because of self-tortured compassion and A because in the long term it's the best way to not have townspeople coming at you with pitchforks - and M goes along with it though they couldnt care less either way. F is a vampire noble from a faraway land who sought refuge with UB, who thinks the idea of not drinking humans to death is a peculiar novelty, but they see the benefits to it.

And then the MC shows up, escaped from Murphy, who wanted to use their blood to become a vampire high king or something. Rebecca is an old friend of UB and said they could be trusted, and there's not much choice when there's a supercharged vampire maniac on your trail. UB offer MC protection after seeing what their blood can do to a vampire's powers, but vow that none of them will take it because in addition to making them more powerful it would drive them mad and make them turn on the rest of their family.

Of course that's harder said than done when the temptation is right there and only growing stronger...

SO THIS IS HAPPENING

Vampire Survivors will now become like a Castlevania Smash Bros (except you're working together to stay alive) and I am SO EXCITED

Some useful info if you aren't familiar with the game:

- your goal is to stay alive throughout the night by getting and leveling up powers and finding lots of "floor" chicken (at least that's what I have to do)

- the game is only 5 USD and you can find it on any platform for the most part

- the DLCs are around 2-3 USD so it shouldn't be too unbearable to get "Ode to Castlevania" on October 31st!

- it's co-op, so you have to play in person with others, but Steam has a way for you to do it online (not super sure how that works)

For a game with a simple premise, smooth controls, a cheap price, multi-player, and a soon to be Castlevania DLC in the midst, you seriously can't go wrong with this!

in my fic i think alucard is understandably hurt by your sudden disappearance. he spends the next 200 years thinking you abandoned him, while simultaneously grieving your death and nursing a bitterness, torn by desire and a betrayal he thinks he has no right to feel. you were never his. he entertained thoughts of you staying but he never expected it. yet it hurt more than he anticipated. he literally puts himself to sleep because he can't deal with it lmfao. during the reunion scene in nocturne he's surprised by how quickly it all melts away. every single horrible feeling. he's still in love with you. he feels like the fumbling dhampir who had watched you take the flowers he had gotten you, breath bated. you're alive. and you don't look a single day older than the last time he saw you, bathed in moonlight on his bed. he's confused. but also still down crazy bad. i think once you tell him the truth about everything he very very very very reluctantly accepts it (he'll find you in the future aka during his fbi agent era). the conversation is predated by a very uncomfortable conversation where you have to tell him that you're leaving. again. (after he tells you that he'll never forgive you if you leave him again and/or turn you into a vampire if you die). anyway after you leave, all alucard wants is to go to sleep until he can meet you in the future. but people keep on making him wake up to defeat world ending evil smh. (he can't meet you if the world ends before then right?)
