I fear the âcreepy childrenâs show for childrenâ genre is dying, as far as Iâm aware there arenât any shows or series targeted at children that are akin to ruby gloom, growing up creepie, courage the cowardly dog (it can be argued that this one is Too Scary but I do recall loving it as a child even if it does high key frighten me when I rewatch episodes now), goosebumps and the likes and I genuinely think that kids would benefit from having more shows like these to watch. the children yearn for creepy kids shows but since their choices are so lacking they end up watching âooh scary game for adults that has creepy childrenâs toysâ youtube videos or shows that quite honestly arenât for their age range (listen i also watched a lot of shows for far older audiences as a child so perhaps I shouldnât be speaking on this but i am.)
honorable mentions include: tutenstein (I havenât watched this since I was a kid, unsure if it counts in this genre), scooby doo (they (scooby) do(o) keep making remakes but ya know), american dragon jake long (not creepy but like very whimsical and fun, I think we need more shows like this)
#deity dialogue#yes I can simply put one of these on for my roommates little sister to watch but sheâs very resistant to watch older series đ#listen to me Iâm going to attempt to get my roommates little sister to watch one or more of these I think I can do it maybe#she would love them I know she would because she wants nothing more than to be the child in a horror movie who is best friends with the#demon that is terrorizing the rest of her family#children love creepy shit I loved creepy shit as a child this child is obsessed with making shit scary I have a album of photos in my phone#that is dedicated to her creepy creations#this is my 5am hot take#everything targeted at childrenâs is like neon claires dumbed down baby shows#which like get samey I have to think and also undermines the intelligence of children!#children are smart and I donât think they all want to be watching the same bright glitter shows every day!#this is based on my own experience having been a child as well as again: I live in the same house as a currently 7 year old who Iâve known#since she was a wee toddler. child loves scary shit I hope that she wants to watch the shows I mentioned here again I truly think sheâll#enjoy them. I shall consult her older siblings tomorrow#she watched and enjoyed one of the recent goosebumps movies I believe#I need to make sure nothing she watches is nightmare inducing so I think Iâm gonna start with growing up creepie and ruby gloom#am I making any sense?#I was out here watching Buffy the vampire slayer as a child and was watching pretty little liars since it began airing#I also watched shows like charmed and supernatural and ghost whisperer with my momma growing up#so again perhaps I am not one to speak on âkids shouldnât be watching shows for older audiencesâ but again I am

excuse the ranting here but just had someone try and argue that a fully evil literally on the hunt for the Slayer (bc heâs stalking his PREY to fight and hopefully kill) Spike - finding Buffy attractive (according to an interview James gave where he talks about that moment and said he embodied the kinds of predatory men who literally are âon the huntâ for real life women in bars) as anywhere NEAR the same level of creepiness as a SOULFUL aka SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD angel stalking and falling in love at the sight of an innocent and crying 15 year old BuffyâŠ.
Anti spike/spuffy ppl always try and use that interview to make Spike out to be âjust as creepyâ as Angel which is always just so embarrassing to me that they donât grasp the basic difference between one was the most evil and literally is a predator to her prey but buffy is also a predator to spikeâs kind so there is even still a balance of power between them even then and heâs literally just explaining how he played the scene to get the attitude and body language right as a predator bc he understands thatâs what Spike is to Buffy at that time (literally had zero clue he would ever be a love interest of Buffyâs). And the other who is not supposed to be a predator anymoreâŠ. hides his identity as a vampire AND hides the fact that heâs been watching her for over a year is still acting as a predator but instead of stalking an experienced slayer to attempt to fight and kill he is stalking a freshly called still weak and vulnerable slayer who he wants to sleep with aka corrupt.
Angel is supposed to be GOOD yet is still acting like a predator. Spike IS EVIL and so is simply acting as someone who has killed two slayers should đđđđ the fact that soulless evil Spike and soulful âgoodâ Angelâs behavior can be compared AT ALL is bad for angel and angel alone bc spike is supposed to be evil and treating buffy as someone he is hunting and as an opponent. Angel is supposed to be HELPING BuffyâŠ.
But regardless of all that the argument is James said Sarah is beautiful so of course he played up that angle as well so canonically Spike thinks a 16 year old Buffy is pretty and these people really donât understand the difference between the two đđ
First of all I personally have heard Sarah call herself ânot the prettiestâ at least 10 times in 10 different interviews - how often do you think the people in her life heard her make jokes or comments about her appearance??? To me that always seemed like James just paying a compliment to his costar who doesnât understand how literally fucking STUNNING she is by basically being like HAVE YOU SEEN HER OF COURSE MY CHARACTER THINKS SHEâS PRETTY LOOK AT HER!! James literally rizzed his way into a main character and love interest like of course heâs gonna be charming in real life by paying compliments to everyone he can every chance he gets. He had sex appeal and a dream AND IT WORKED đ and we also see him have chemistry with practically every person on the show thatâs just who he is đčđčđč
But I also just cannot emphasize how much of a difference there is between finding someone attractive or thinking theyâre beautiful vs actually ACTING on it and ESPECIALLY acting on it when you call her friend of the same age âjust a kidâ and say over and over again how wrong it is and that sheâs too young AND THEN DO IT ANYWAY. Like itâs a supernatural show with vampires who are 100 & 200+ years old if angel hadnât constantly acted like her dad and treated Buffy like a kid and everything is season 3 didnât happen there could be sooooooo much more leniency with angel and buffyâs age differences and I probably wouldnât care bc applying irl rules to the supernatural doesnât make a lot of sense but angel always treats her like a child and says over and over again how wrong it is and THAT is what makes it a problem within this supernatural show bc Spike never treats her like a child or like she isnât his equal ever no matter what age she is
But unfortunately it makes sense people who like a character whose main personality trait is !catholic guilt! (when heâs got a soul) donât understand the difference between thoughts and actions and how we should only be defining ourselves and other people by their actions. Because we are not every single thought weâve ever had both good and bad. If you think to do good things but donât that does not make you good and if you think to do bad things but donât that does not make you bad.
So evil Spike thinking a beautiful Buffy dancing with her friends is hot at 16 is not even CLOSE to the same as a supposed to be good angel activity pursuing a relationship with her by breadcrumbing the absolute fuck out of her, manipulating her like crazy and lying to her about practically everything and flirting with her under false pretenses after falling in love at the sight of her looking like a child with her lollipop on the school steps at 15 and then watching her cry in the bathroom mirror as he watches her from the bushes with a smile on his face and hope in his eyes and if you donât understand that there is literally nothing I can do or say to help you
#comparing souled angel to soulless spike means youâve already lost as an angel stan and they just do not get that đ#spuffy#spike btvs#anti angel#anti bangel#one was actually hunting her and one was supposed to be helping her yet theyâre acting the same and you still think the EVIL ONE is the#problemâŠ.. got it catch me NEVER listening to you about anything ever đđđ

Finished the last ep of season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and gosh, what a tragic character she is.
I obviously haven't watched the later seasons yet but I saw someone mention in a comment on YouTube how in the series everyone expects so much from her while giving her barely any support in turn, and it's true specifically in the last scene, and in the entire episode.
Buffy had her whole world turned upside down in a day. She found out she was fated to die, supposedly alone, while fighting what was shown a couple of episodes before to be the creature she feared the mostâall while being barely sixteen, with big dreams in her mind about a future she wouldn't even have.
She rightfully expressed those feelings, and all of a sudden Giles was acting so surprised, as if it were a given that she would save them all once again and accept to sacrifice herself, marching to her death like a soldier going to war. But the thing isâwhy should she have done that? She was born the Slayer, sure, but she didn't choose that life. She never wanted it. She shouldn't have been forced to take on such a big responsibility at such a young age. She was supposed to be a child. Live her life. Be a normal girl whose biggest problem was her History homework.
Then, once she did choose to do as foretold and go face the Master, only to "die" and be brought back and then kick his ass as she did with any monster of the week during the whole season, everyone just patted her on the back, said, "Whew what a day," and went on with their lives. "We should go to prom."
The gap between them and her was so obvious here, because while (albeit a bit shaken themselves) they were celebrating, she was left processing everything on her own. What happened to her, how alone she felt, what her role would be from then on. All of this while the others only spared her a single, "You died. Yikes."
Not a word about how she was feeling, except from Giles. Not a hug. Not a significant sign of acknowledgement.
She couldn't possibly tell them anythingâthey were traumatized just as much as her, so it would've been unfair to them. So she swallowed her feelings down, of course, as I'm sure she will do again somewhere soon, and just said she was fine, as if nothing happened.
Sure, let's go party. Sure, I'm okay. Sure, I'm not severely scarred from this experience.
Sure. Sure. Sure.
Always and forever.
#don't get me wrong i love giles#i love that he realized how wrong it was to expect buffy to take on everything#but what he first did was just not it#lonely thoughts#buffy the vampire slayer#buffy summers#it's sad buffy summers hours#had to get this off my chest because it made me sad to watch her#and accidentally wrote a meta post about a show i'll probably never mention again#poetic

Iâm a man who grew up surrounded by strong women. Even as a child, I gravitated toward stories about women like those who helped mold me. This included stuff like âBuffy the Vampire Slayerâ, âTomb Raiderâ, and eventually, âSailor Moonâ.
I first encountered âSailor Moonâ as a young boy. I watched the 1990s anime religiously after school with my cousin. Beneath the silly slapstick humor of the anime, I detected characters with depth and pathos. It was love at first sight.
I eventually read the manga and adored it even more, particularly for how it approached the central romance between Usagi and Mamoru. I returned to the manga frequently and yearned for an adaptation that took these characters just a bit more seriously.
Little did I know, that adaptation existed. âPretty Guardian Sailor Moonâ, a live-action tokusatsu series, never made it to the west officially. A chance encounter with a fan sub finally, quite recently, introduced me to what has become my favorite adaptation of âSailor Moonâ.
Here were the characters I loved, given room to breathe, their journeys fully explored. There was just one problem: those journeys ended after only the first arc of the manga.
So here we are. I have written stories for most of my life. Iâve even had the pleasure of having some of my comic book work published. Despite the fact that I always wrote for the love of the process, Iâd never written fan fiction. Something about âPGSMâ, however, urged me to put pen to paper and continue the story.
I'm sure in a fan community as vast as that of "Sailor Moon", I'm far from the first person to continue the story of "PGSM". I do believe I have a pretty unique approach that is ultimately additive to the fandom. Whether I am successful at crafting something worthy of the franchise is ultimately left up to the judgement of my fellow fans.
I did set some rules before I started writing.
1. Like âPGSMâ, I will be adapting an arc from the manga, the âBlack Moonâ arc. Just like âPGSMâ, I will follow the basic spirit of the arc while diverging, making changes, and taking BIG SWINGS.
2. âPGSMâ was not blessed with a massive budget. To keep the spirit of the show alive, my second season will similarly stay quite grounded. Events here should at least be plausible in the context of the show.
3. Everything from the show is canon, including the âSpecial Actâ. I knew this would create a challenge, since that final story jumped forward in time 4 years and saw Usagi and Mamoru get married. I jump forward another year after the wedding. Weâre dealing with older Sailor Guardians, around 19 years old.
4. My biggest goal was to approximate the feel of a TV show. That is why the story is organized not into chapters, but episodes, called acts. That is why each act features opening and closing credits, as well as eyecatch (ăąă€ăăŁăă) images common in Japanese television, particularly anime.
5. Finally, I wanted to not âimpose my willâ on these characters, but attempt to extend their journeys. Character conflicts, both internal and external, and relationships should feel like a natural evolution of what came before.
If youâve never seen âPGSMâ, but are a fan of Sailor Moon, consider my story an âalternative universeâ and try to enjoy it on those merits.
I do recommend all fans seek out a fan sub of the show and watch it; itâs fantastic. Search the web for âMiss Dreamâ or âSea of Serenityâ and youâre sure to find it. The cast and crew really knocked it out of the park.
I will be posting new episodes on a roughly monthly basis and currently plan to write anywhere between 15 and 20 episodes. The whole season is already outlined, but I like to leave myself some room to improvise.
You can find my take on a second season of PGSM currently on three websites:
Archive of Our Own
Wattpad
FanFiction.net
I hope youâll try and enjoy this little âwhat ifâ return to the world of âPretty Guardian Sailor Moonâ. I know I am.

Teen Wolf Rewatch - Season 1 Review
Season 1 of Teen Wolf serves the same blend of camp, horror, and teenage coming of age drama as my youthful fav Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but by making the monster the protagonist, it changes it up in interesting ways. Scott is a fascinating choice for the lead, not just cause he's a werewolf, but because he's not a hero. He doesn't want to be there, he's only involved in the plot to protect himself from it. He's the victim of people who would be the heroes of monster hunting shows like BtVS and Supernatural or the antihero protagonists of a roaring rampage of revenge film. Making Scott the main puts Teen Wolf into interesting conversation with those other genres and shows.
This season does a good job of setting out the themes that will define the rest of the series. Revenge is an open spiral of destruction. Monster is as monster does. Power is an obligation to act and the pursuit of power hurts everyone including you. Poor communication kills. Violations of characters bodily autonomy and mind makes for compelling suffering.
Returning to season 1 and reminding myself of where Scott started gives me more appreciation for where he ends up. He changes so much! Yes, he's still a dorky sweetheart, but his priorities are radically different. Season 1 Scott is a selfish, immature child. He refuses to give up a sport he loves and worked hard on just because playing endangers himself and everyone around him. He plans to kill a man, not for justice or to protect, but so he doesn't have to live with lycanthropy. That's a far cry from season 6 Scott who gives up college to protect Beacon Hills and tries to save the lives of his enemies. Insert that's growth.gif here.
Hey, you know who else in season 1 is selfish and immature? Literally all of them! Stiles is out here living his Hardy Boys/comic book fantasy with zero thought as to the impact of his adventures on everyone else. Allison is so desperate to be strong she's putting arrows into people over it. Derek is so into his trust issues he alienates everyone who might have willingly helped him by trying to intimidate and manipulate them into it. Lydia is using her "friends" and cutting off bits of herself for just a sliver of validation and do not gets me started on Jackson. They all grow so much from here and I'm looking forward to watching it all over again!
Scott/Allison is central to the season, but I was kind of cold on it until the last episode. As an aromantic asexual, I have been bewildered, bored, and exasperated by teen romance drama since I was a teen. It doesn't help that their relationship isn't based on anything more solid than lust. Scott needs Allison to feel normal and in control at a time when he has none, but he doesn't trust her enough to share what he's going through or respect her enough to make informed decisions about her safety or their relationship. It isn't until the moment in the season finale where he trusts her to help him fight Peter and where she knows what he is and decides to love him anyway that I really started to ship it.
The vibes on this show are impeccable, but the cracks in the writing are already starting to show. There's all these continuity errors. When was the fire? How many died? What classes are the kids in again? And don't even get me started on the timeline. This show desperately needed a show bible, but whatever I guess.

Hit with sudden inspiration, so here's a little Avatrice Buffy AU. Now with a part two.
Now with more that can be found here.
--
Itâs a trap.
Of course it is. She knows better than to do this. She has made it as long as she has as a slayer by knowing better than to do this.
It was irresponsible, and, she thinks, as she watches two more demons emerge from behind a shelving unit halfway down the warehouse, their knives glinting in the low light, now sheâs going to die.
It wonât be the first time.
She hadnât known any better, then. Had been overconfident and followed her instincts all the way to the bottom of the pool in the school gymnasium, red swirls dancing in her fading vision as she sank. Sheâd used the last of her strength to bend her knees and press against the bottom, weak but something, enough to get her high enough to hook an arm over a rung of the ladder before she lost consciousness, gasping for air and finding only water and the taste of iron and chlorine.
She woke up heaving and coughing to the impassive face of Suzanne Superion, who moved Beatriceâs own hand to the gauze sheâd applied to the wound on her neck before standing and brushing her hands over the fabric of still perfectly-pleated pants.
A grimace. A murmur: âI just had these dry-cleaned.â
Beatrice pushed herself up from the clammy tiles, the sucking sound of her wet cotton shirt pulling free of the floor unnaturally loud without the cover of whistles and shouting and water displaced by the clumsy strokes of her peers.
She swayed slightly, felt Superionâs critical eyes on her until she stabilized. She turned, then, and Beatrice followed, slowed by blood loss and the particularly awful feeling of wet socks squishing in her wet trainers with every step. Superion did not slow for her, calling out over her shoulder, âThis is why you should listen to me.â
She should have listened. To be fair, though, she had seen a vampire carrying a screaming child into the gym. Only two weeks in, she didnât yet have the instincts to understand that the child was a vampire, too.
Beatrice is not generally particularly kind to herself, but she thinks she made an understandable decision at the time.
Tonight, though, she had merely been reckless. A moment. But she knows better than anyone that thatâs all it takes.
Sheâs backed into a corner now, a dozen vampires and demons congratulating each other and sneering at her as she takes stock. They havenât attacked her yet, despite their numbers, and theyâre excited about something. Sheâs already heard a ritual mentioned in three different languages. Also, blood.
This makes sense given the symbol chalked into the floor nearbyâa resurrection spell, if she had to guess, although she can only get a partial view. Most of it is obscured by the jostling bodies of a vampireâmost likely newly turned, if his too-bright eyes and muddy shoes are anything to go byâand a Liliiad demon. His face, like all Lilliad faces, looks a bit like a half-melted candle, and sheâs unsettled, as always, by its ability to convey its hatred so clearly through gray, blurred features.
A ritual with the slayerâs blood, then. Another one. Far from the first time theyâve tried something like this, although theyâve finally managed to catch her off guard.
Sheâs well and truly alone, off the trail of her prescribed patrol path, and she has the stake in her hand, the cross on her neck, and her knives. At least she has her knives.
A figure steps forward, tall and broad and dressed in red robes, his face shielded by his hood. Next to him stands the reason Beatrice entered this warehouse in the first place.
His demeanor now is a stark contrast to what it had been an hour ago, his shaking hands and disheveled hair and breaking voice.
âThey slipped away,â heâd said. âThe same group that got Shannon. Three of them.â
She hadnât asked any questions. A rookie mistake, letting emotion guide her.
She thinks of the night she found Shannon on the library floor, the crack in Superionâs ever-present armor as she recognized her friendâs broken body. She thinks, very seriously, about using one of her knives to kill him, but sheâs not ready to escalate, and heâs not worth wasting whatever chance she might have.
And, of course, she knows that whatever happens here, Superion will figure him out and he will pay. For Shannon, and, maybe, for her.
âBeatrice.â
She says nothing, and Vincent sighs.
âVery well.â His eyes turn to the face of the robed figure. âIâm going to the tomb. You know what to do.â
He steps back through the circle of demons and walks toward the exit. She hears the groan of one of the warehouse doors opening as the robed figure takes another step toward her.
Her fingers move for a moment to the scar on her neck and then she breathes, steady, lets her senses expand, shifts her stance.
She is the slayer. She will not go down easily.
And she doesnât. The person or demon or creature coming toward her is slow, fumbles when she dodges, and she has somehow caught the rest of them off guard. Two quick stakes and three knives gone and sheâs opening up the circle, taking full advantage of their characteristic lack of organization.
Something takes out her knee and she collapses, breath taken out of her when she hits the floor. A shadow, and a boot comes down on her knee with a sickening crunch. She cries out and closes her eyes, only for a moment, before catching herself.
She opens them to the face of the robed figure, hood now pushed back to reveal the raised planes of his vampire form, bright blonde hair and blue eyes and a predatory gaze. He rests his boot on her chest as she tries to think through the pain, moving from thoughts of escape to thoughts of sabotage. They may kill her but sheâll be damned if they use her blood to raise whatever godforsaken creature brought them all here.
âIf we didnât need all of your blood to raise our Lord, little girl, I would rip your throat open right now and have a little taste. Iâve heard slayer blood brings a real high.â
She has had more demonic creatures than she can count tell her that theyâd love to rip her throat open. Itâs nothing new. But the feeling of satisfaction that comes over her at his words isâheâs given her the information she needs.
She canât run. Slayers heal quickly, but not that quickly.
But she has a knife left, and heâll have to carry her or drag her. Plenty of time for her to bleed before he can get her to the symbol. An easy cut to the brachial artery. Her clothes are dark, and she can be quiet. He wonât realize until itâs too late.
The knife is in her boot, but when he moves to drag her, she canâŠ
Before she can finish the thought, thereâs an explosion at the symbol, heat from a raging fire reaching Beatriceâs face, and she watches as the vampire above her turns his face to the commotion. In the same moment, a stake lodges itself in his chest, and she hears his final scream of rage and confusion as the boot on her chest crumbles to ash.
A new figure looms. Small. Familiar. And Beatrice feels a new kind of pain as sheâs offered a hand and a crooked smile.
âSup, Bea? Sorry Iâm late to the party.â

Giles x teen!reader - a demigodâs fate
Part one:
Looking at the school, you grumbled a little bit to yourself, cursing the prophets out for sending you here, and you looked at the man next to you.
âYou remember why youâre here?â He asked.
âYeah, hellmouth and all that. Why are you even here Hermes?â
He shrugged a little, putting his hands in his pockets.
âSomebody has to act as a legal guardian for you while you get enrolled.â
âYeah, because my father clearly canât do that himself.â
Hermes sighed, walking over to the main doors with you, holding them open so you could go through.
âYou know the rules, he canât. I shouldnât even be here but Zeus allowed my just so we can get you in without a problem.â
You leant against the wall while he spoke to the person behind the reception desk, then the god walked back over to you.
He stood in front of you, offering you a small smile.
âI think youâll enjoy it here.â
âWhat? People, demons, vampires, every greek monster coming straight here. Yeah, thatâs going to be a lot of fun.â
He sighed.
âYou have everything you need right? Just like they told you?â
âYeah.â
âGood, I have to go after this, but Iâll deliver any messages to you if there is any. Remember your father pays for your apartment, and youâll get more than enough money to survive.â
You said nothing, you just watched as he walked away.
You had no intention of sticking around for classes, so when Hermes came back towards you.
âRemember you were told.â
âStay away from the slayer, donât let her find out because sheâll see me as a demon and kill me, and she can see through the mist.â
He nodded, giving you one last look before he left, and you were waiting for student to come bring you to your first class of the day.
Pulling the parchment from your pocket you read the words on in, simply just warning about the hellmouth in a ridiculous riddle.
It didnât say anything more, just that the child of hades will go, and stay until it was dealt with, that was it.
Rolling it back up, you put it in the pocket on the inside of your black jacket, and you took the coin out of your pocket.
To anybody else it was just a simple coin with the symbol of death on, but for you, it was a lifeline, protection.
You glanced to the side, looking at the red haired girl who had walked over.
âHi! Iâm Willow⊠I uh.. I was told to come and get you, you are (Y/N) right? Like I havenât gotten you mixed up with somebody else?â She asked nervously.
You slipped the coin back into your other pocket and you pushed yourself from the wall, looking at her with a cold gaze it literally made her shiver.
She took a step back, looking at you with a nervous smile.
âThatâs me.â
âOh! Oh great! So, we have English right now, but youâre in all of my classes so you can stay with me all day.â
Willow glanced at you.
âO.. only if you wantâŠâ
She began to walked and you trailed behind her, watching her glance at you again before she looked away.
âWhat other classes do we have?â
âUh.. thereâs math, science, we do have a free period, then we have gym at the end of the day.â
You huffed.
âAll boring aside from the last one I guess.â
âOh they arenât so bad, if you need any help you can always ask me, I have good grades so I can help you.â
You said nothing and she led you into the class, and the teacher looked at you.
âNames (Y/N) itâs my first day, donât bother trying to get me to introduce myself.â
âRight.. well.. thank you I suppose. Take a seat at the back.â She said.
You walked to the empty desk and dropped yourself in it, resting your head in your arms in the hopes itâll make it pass quickly.
Thankfully it did, and when the bell went you stood up, walking back over to Willow who was talking to her friends.
âUh Willow, you seem to have grown a new shadow.â The man said.
She turned around, a bright smile gracing her face.
â(Y/N)! Are you ready for science? Oh guys this is (Y/N), they started today, (Y/N) this is Buffy and Xander.â
They waved and you stared at them before looking at the friendly redhead.
âMath.â
âRight, yeah, weâre heading there now. Come on.â
They talked while walking and you trailed behind them, looking around the school, memorising all the exits and anything else that could be of use for you.
âSo⊠has anybody asked about the scar yet?â Xander asked.
âXander!â The two girls hissed.
You grabbed him by the jacket, slamming him into some lockers.
âDonât mention it again.â You warned.
He quickly nodded his head and you let him go, walking into the class behind Willow.
Again, it was nothing of interest to you, and when it came from break between classes you made yourself scarce, wondering away.
When the bell went again you were back with the small group.
It went the same as the other classes, you simply just slept, and when it came to lunch, you didnât know what to do.
âDo you want something to eat?â Buffy asked.
âNo.â
âDo you want anything?â Xander asked next.
You looked at him in boredom.
âI want you to shut up.â
He raised his hands and you looked around in boredom.
âIâm gone, Iâll find you later Willow.â
You walked away, and you began your hunt.
The first thing you needed to do was find the heart of the hellmouth, that is what you needed to know the exact location of it.
The joys of being a demigod was that you could feel the power radiating from it, so, all you did was follow the source of the power, and eventually into the library.
You looked around, and you slowly made your way way, wondering up the steps until you were stood in the centre of the it.
You could feel the powers and you understood why they were all going there, and it made you wonder what was really coming for it, and why you were sent.
âOh hello, I never heard you come in. Are you alright? May I help you with something by any chance?â
You looked up from where you were looking and looked at the British man who offered you a smile.
âWho the fuck are you?â
âI.. I⊠would ask you not to use that language please, but I do apologise for not introducing myself, I am Mr Giles, the librarian. Whom might you be?â
You stared at him.
âNone of your business.â
You made your way back down the stairs and he watched you leave in confusion, and just as you were leaving the others came in.
They greeted you and you just offered them a nod of your head as you left again, deciding to leave the school grounds all together.
âI see you met the new student.â Xander said.
Giles pushed his glasses up, making his way back down the stairs with a few books in his hands.
âYes, well I never got a name however.â
âOh, thatâs (Y/N). They have a very cool gothic kind of look going on.â
âAnd they already threatened Xander.â Buffy said.
Giles furrowed his brows as he set the books on the table, turning to the boy in question.
âAnd what exactly did Mr Harris do to annoy (Y/N) if theyâve been here for less than a day?â
âAsked them about the scar on their face.â Xander said.
âScar?â
âYou didnât see it?â Willow asked.
Giles shook his head, sitting down in the chair as he began to flick through the books he had brought over.
âI canât say I was able to get a rather good look at them, they left not long after I found them stood at the top of the stairs staring at the floor.â
Everybody shared a confused look before they went back to what they were doing.
You on the other hand went back to your apartment, sitting on your couch you picked up your notebook, making a quick note of where the hellmouth was.
You just couldnât find a connection to any mythical creature that would place them here.
It seemed like normal supernatural stuff, not demigod work.
Looked at your TV, you turned it on.
It soon became apparent to everybody that you were going to be a trouble student with grades and attendance.
On the days you actually went in you spent a lot of time in detention, just idly staring at the work you had to catch up on, and today was no different.
Sitting in the library with the others, you stared at the text book and the paper next to it.
âCome on (Y/N), if you donât catch up on your work youâll get suspended.â Willow sighed.
âWould that really be any different? I mean itâs not like theyâre here anyway.â Xander said.
You glared at him.
âKeep talking Iâll drag you from that chair and shove you in the smallest locker I can find.â
âNow, now, play nice, nobody is shoving anybody into a locker.â Buffy said.
She looked up from her paper and glanced at yours.
âDamn, I was hoping you had something so I could copy it.â
You glanced at her before looking away, tilting your head to look up at the ceiling.
âKeep dreaming summers, this is a waste of time, Iâm only here because I have to be.â
âIs the library really that bad?â Giles chuckled.
He set a tray of tea down and set all your cups down in front of you all.
He picked up your text book, and he read over the work that you were supposed to be doing before he set it back down.
âYou should both be catching up on the work that you need to do, there isnât long until the end of the school term until Halloween, you remember what you were told if it wasnât all caught up by then?â
âYeah, yeah, suspension, parent meetings, all that.â Buffy said.
She turned her attention back to her work while you just carried on sitting there staring up at the ceiling.
â(Y/N)? Is there uh⊠is there something I may be able to help with?â Giles asked you.
You didnât reply, you just carried on staring at the ceiling and he walked back to his chair to sit down, not wanting to push you.
You looked back at your textbook but you never started your work, instead you closed it and slid it over to table towards Willow.
âThis is a waste of time.â
âIf you need help we can help, donât give up.â Willow frowned.
You went to reply but you saw a movement out the corner of your eye, and you recognised it immediately.
Getting up, you shoved your chair out of the way and left the library, looking down the hallway to, then to the floor next to the door.
Walked over, you picked up three scroll and opened it to read the writing.
âMonster on the outskirts of the city.â
Shoving it into your pocket, you grabbed your coin, flipping it in the air.
There was a small light, and you caught the sword in your hand, making your way to the darkest corner of the school, walking through the shadows.
Standing on the edge of the city you smirked a little, rolling your shoulders as you stared at the monster.
âIâve been looking for a good fight, itâs about time.â
You lunged forward, shadows licking the edge of your blade as you swung it.
It was about time you had a good fight, and you were looking to blow off some steam and this was the way to do it.
The group in the library looked at your books and Willow sighed, gathering them all up only to be stopped by Giles.
âDonât worry yourself with this, Iâll see that these are returned, just focus on your own studies, youâre a smart girl Willow, we wouldnât want you falling behind.â
Giles took your books, taking them to his office so he could put them aside for you.
Willow was stressed trying to help you, and right now they didnât need any more stress, so he was trying to find a way that he would be able to help you.
But you didnât seem to have an interest in being helped.
Walking back out, he sat back down at the table.
âSo, did you find anything about the demon from last night?â Xander asked.
âActually I did, I found quite a bit on the matter, though it is no demon. Based on Buffyâs description I believe it would be this.â
Giles opened the book and turned it so the trio could look at the photo.
âWhat the hell is that?â Buffy asked.
âIt.. itâs so⊠ewâŠâ Xander mumbled.
âThis would be a Cyclops, I could only find so much, most of the books unfortunately Iâm unable to read due to them being in Ancient Greek, the language is lost, there is nobody I know that can translate it.â
âSo we donât know how to kill it?â Buffy asked.
Giles shook his head.
âNo, but the good news is that you most likely scared it away, and seriously injured it, I highly doubt it will be making its return anytime soon, but I must admit this does concern me.â
âWhy?â Willow asked.
He looked at her.
âThis means it isnât just vampires and a few demons you must worry about. Now you must worry about Greek monsters, these are not to be taken lightly, some of these monsters are beyond anything you could deal with, larger, stronger, some travel in packs, some of powers.â
They all went silent.
âWithout a way to translate the texts we have, we wonât be able to do anything except hope for the best, I only have a handful of books, most of these new monsters wonât even be covered in anything I have.â
âWhat about the council?â Buffy asked.
âThey looked, they are unable to help, even they donât have such access to these scripts, nobody knows where to find them, we have to work from what we have Iâm afraid.â
She nodded her head, and took the book so she could flick through it, looking through the photos at all the different monsters.
She was trained for vampires not Greek monsters, while you on the other hand were, and neither of you knew that you were both working towards the same cause.
You didnât care about whatever demons she had to fight, you just wanted to fulfil your prophecy so you could get out of the boring town, and hopefully soon because school became the death of you.
Making your way back to your apartment, you stretched a little, wincing in pain and you made your way to the large mirror in the living room.
You were a little beat, but nothing they wouldnât heal in a matter of days, so you walked to your map on the wall to mark the location.
You had the cyclops marked you stumbled across half dead the previous night as well, narrowing your eyes to try and find a link but you were unable to

Final girl (Noun): An Introduction.
According to some, I guess I owe them an explanation. But let's start at the beginning - at least.
What is a Final Girl?
Coined by film theorist Carol J. Clover in her 1992 book Men, Women, and Chainsaws: Gender in the Modern Horror Film.
The Final Girl is a character (classically female presenting) who is the last person alive to confront the killer/monster, and often the sole survivor. The final girl is a trope in horror films (particularly slasher films ).
A common plot in many horror films in which several victims are killed one-by-one by a killer amid increasing terror, culminating in a climax in which the last surviving member of the group, the final girl, vanquishes the killer (at least until the sequel).
Why would I want the moniker or call this blog Final Girl Kell?
The final girl trope has evolved throughout the years, from early final girls most often being DIDs (Damsels in Distress), saved by a strong men to more modern final girls who are more likely to survive due to their own abilities.
For many, the final girl is the living embodiment of stereotypical conservative attitudes of what women "should be"âvirginal, subservient, untouched by the menace of the outside world. But as the trope evolved, the trope was used to force the audience to identify with a woman in the climax of the movie. The person you root for to win. That became a very powerful sword to wield. It allowed new points of view in horror storytelling.
When women won, they were able to force men to watch them step into their own power.Â
The name Final Girl Kell is a large part wish fulfillment.
I'm not here to trauma dump, nor give some sob story - at least not all at once and not for the public to twist and use against me as some things have been in my past. It's what the public does to victims of abuse when they speak out and that fall out I know all to well to try again.
The quick notes version is I've been the innocent who was forcefully defiled by the monster of men. I've had my life completely derailed by others selfish needs and desires - others fears and needing to single out someone to hurt to deal with their own insecurities - and I've had to bear the brunt of that fallout, living in a life feeling confined to a box others made to try to kill me.
I'll give them it was a trap my own naivety caused me to fall into - trusting the wolves in sheep's clothing - but the Final Girl always makes it out of these traps. They always fight and claw their way back out to come back and take those monsters down. They make it out to see another day. To live another day. To be free of the monster hunting them down.
As a survivor, especially one a lot of people see as "not perfect" I identity with that.
I've been to the edge and back and I've gotten free. I've won to see another day. As someone still dealing with picking up the pieces of my trauma and more recent battles - I hold on to the trope like a mantra. I will survive, and I will thrive. I will be free to see the light of another day.
As a child who grew up on whatever I thought sounded cool at Blockbuster and loved all things spooky - Final Girls like Nancy, Sidney and Laurie always stuck with me. My inner child and adolescence begs me to tap into the power those Final Girls had - and I have to honor that.
What is the goal for this blog?
Benny:Â But I still want to know what happens! Buffy:Â Everyone gets horribly killed except the blonde girl in the nightie who finally kills the monster with a machete but it's not really dead. Jennifer:Â Oh my God. Is that true? Buffy:Â Probably. What movie is this?
â Cut dialogue from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I can't say what I plan for this blog to be totally.
Part health journeys - with my mental and physical health in some serious need of TLC.
Part writing out ideas for horror screenplays based on the insanity I'm dealing with and the terrifying situations living in Atlanta brought me into.
Part just spooky stuff I like, and showing off the positive progress I've made. Be it showing off a cool skill I've taught myself (like with ghost hunting) or musings about Halloween Horror Nights and showing gratitude for the things and people who make me want to never give up.
I can't say I have everything figured out, but I'm down to start this blog journey and I hope others are excited to read, listen, watch and hopefully relate.
We're all final girls here.

Rating: Teen Wordcount: ~4k Relationship: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Buffy The Vampire Slayer Fusion, Alternate Universe - 1990s, Vampire Eddie Munson, Enemies to Lovers
EXCERPT / READ ON AO3:
Thereâs a leak somewhere in this abandoned church, the drip, drip, drip is incessant and itâs driving Steve nuts.
Heâs been doing this thing with Nancy for two years now and heâs still not used to it all, the chilly drafts, the abandoned places and the dark passage ways heâs forced to occupy.
At least he has snacks. Thatâs something. He cracks open a pop can with a hiss to have with the bag of chips he had ripped open not too long ago.
âCome on dude,â Eddie whines from the chair heâs strapped to in the center of the church. He kicks his feet out like a child. Steveâs sitting on one of the pews in front of him. âThatâs not fucking fair.â
âYou canât even eat this shit,â Steve throws back at him, mouth full.
âYes I can. I eat human food all the time!â Eddie says.
Steve rolls his eyes. âThat cannot possibly be good for you.â
âTell that to the lactose intolerants of the world.â
Steve glares at him and takes the opportunity to eat a chip with an obnoxious crunch, smacking his lips as he does it and then taking a long swig of the can he just opened. The lingering coldness of the drink is only due to the chill air in the church. Theyâve been sitting here for what feels like hours, and heâs probably not far off. Steve knew this mission would probably take a while, thatâs why Nancy, Robin and Jonathan had left him with so many snacks. Nancy also left him his homework, but thereâs no point in even cracking that open. The school has already told him heâs going to have to repeat his senior year, no matter what he does.
That doesnât matter right now, though. The only thing that matters is that Eddie doesnât escape from the ties they put him in, and that Nancy and the others are able to finally dust the One. Steveâs only job is to keep Eddie where he is, and watch to make sure he doesnât go back on his word of helping them defeat the One.
âAll Iâm saying is I donât think itâs fair that you got all these little snacks and I just have to sit here,â Eddie continues. He shakes his head, letting his hair settle back behind his shoulders. âKind of rude of your friends not to leave a single thing for me.â
âThey like me significantly better than they like you,â Steve replies with a sneer.
âIf they like you so much whyâd they leave you here with me? I was called Edward the Bloody for a reason you know.â Eddie has a grin on his face, the same stupid grin heâs had on for hours, distracting Steve.
Eddie has been doing nothing but distracting Steve the entire time theyâve been here. Asking stupid questions, singing stupid songs, complaining that he was hungry and thirsty, and itâs been driving Steve absolutely up the wall. He cannot believe heâs here babysitting a vampire while his friends get to save the world.

for character bingo: og scoobies- buffy, willow, xander, giles
okay yay!! i answered willow here but here are the other three :o
buffy
i know several ppl for whom buffy is like The character of the buffyverse and i don't personally agree -- she's not even in my top ten, honestly -- but it's not like i don't get it. she's iconic for a reason. i like her best in s5 & especially s6; for all of s6's flaws, i find her emotional journey from "bargaining" to "grave" to be one of the most compelling things buffy the vampire slayer ever did. i love that she gets to be really messy in that season. when she beats up spike in the alley and pours her self-hatred into him the way faith once did to her long after he stops fighting back......ok queen. her unstable slay. and curiously even though i am an only child and can be pretty ambivalent about sibling dynamics in tv shows, i find her much more interesting as an older sister than as an only child. like dgmw i like s1-4 buffy okay but she also doesn't really stand out to me aside from a few stellar emotional moments.
s7 buffy is strangely awful and i say strangely not because i think she's ooc but because i think it's strange that they decided to take her character in that particular direction in their very last season after the previous season ended with her rediscovering joy and love for life again. i mostly just like her in scenes with spike which uh. you know. i'd rather NOT be in the position of saying i only like the female main character in scenes she shares with her male love interest who they are spending the season trying to redeem for his attempted rape of her. that's not a thing i want to be saying. but it is true. and that's the season where she really needed to be bullied more. sorry but the speech she gave in "get it done" alone earned her 100000 evictions from her house in my opinion.
as for the fandom, it often seems to me that people operate at extremes wrt buffy, where some people will say wildly misogynistic things about her and other people will act like she is incapable of being wrong ever and it's like. can all of you just watch the show and use your brains please.
xander
HIS FITS......king of wearing amazing shirts. my faves are his christmas-colored one from "earshot" and the incredible shirt that just says "i <3 dirt" six times. the thing about his fandom reception is that i don't even necessarily disagree with a lot of the major things people criticize him for. it's just that the recent conflation of xander with joss himself is so disingenuous and overblown and i'm sick of seeing it everywhere when what people really mean is that they think he's annoying. to me the most compelling thing about xander is his relationship with his father. his dream in "restless" where he keeps ending up in his parents' basement and there's a monster at the top of the stairs and the monster is his dad? oof. the moment in "hell's bells" when anya is trying to convince him not to walk out on her and he looks over and sees his father yelling at his mother and you just know that's the thing he most fears becoming? also oof.
and the thing is i don't even think his fears are baseless -- imo xander's worst moment is not the Lie or "bewitched bothered bewildered," it's in "entropy" when he tries to murder spike (who, for all his general spike-ness, is defenseless against him) solely for daring to.......have consensual sex with xander's ex. and then he yells at anya, whom he is no longer in a relationship with due to his own actions, for having sex with a "soulless thing" despite the fact that he had plenty of sex with her and anya has probably killed more people than spike in her life. like imo that moment is borderline abusive, maybe not even borderline maybe just straight-up abusive frankly, and it's a haunting sign that maybe xander was completely right in "hell's bells" to fear his own anger. and it's nuts to me that people gloss over that moment while complaining endlessly about the Lie which imo is much more defensible. but then after that moment (and the moment in the dark willow arc where he discloses spike's attempted rape of buffy to dawn against buffy's wishes -- um, not cool, dude), he's pretty chill for the rest of the show. like in s7 when i'm annoyed with almost everyone xander is just hanging around fixing tables in the background. ok king. so yeah i have complex feelings about him but overall i do like him more than i dislike him.
giles
i feel like if you go into my giles tag you can see the evolution of my giles opinions from "i like giles he's funny and snarky :)" to "i am so mad at giles all the time".......the older i get the more i'm just like. this man is profiting off of buffy's suffering and he (non-sexually to be clear) grooms her for martyrdom and discourages her from non-slayer pursuits but then also abandons her to figure out real life on her own when she is suicidally depressed and broke and he is rich because his family has a legacy of making money off of slayers' suffering. like okayyyyyyy. and when he accidentally kills a guy or drugs buffy it's forgivable to him and when willow purposefully does All That it's forgivable to him but when faith accidentally kills a guy she's a lost cause and when jenny fails to disclose her family's history with angel she has Betrayed Him and when xander tells sexist jokes he's the most annoying person ever (but shouldn't actually be corrected by a positive male role model). okay giles.
and people talk a lot about giles's betrayal of buffy in s7 which is indeed bad but also i feel like no one mentions how incredibly reckless he is with robin's life? like sending robin off to kill spike -- a vampire strong enough to kill robin's mom (who unlike robin had actual slayer powers) and who no longer has a chip but does still have a trigger-induced murder state -- is such an obviously foolish and dangerous idea, especially given that giles does not have a high opinion of spike's capacity for good. a lot of us in the audience recoil at spike's refusal to apologize for murdering nikki and for threatening to kill robin if he tries to kill spike again but the fact that he spared robin at all is frankly more than giles had reason to expect.
and it just speaks to this general pattern where giles has maybe the highest duty of care to everyone around him out of anyone in the show and yet he consistently fails to uphold that duty in nearly every way. and the thing is obviously if giles were a better father figure to buffy who did nothing wrong then the show would not work. it's a show that is at least nominally about patriarchy. giles is the patriarchy stand-in. he does kind of have to suck at least a little. but it often feels like the show is not fully aware of the implications of how they write giles and he ends up being a lot worse than i think is intended, which is really frustrating. idk. i do like his dynamic with anya. i think they're funny and should have dated. #speakingmytruth.

So... I don't really know where to start this meta thing I'm going to attempt to write here? I suppose I'll begin with what prompted me to really think of this and want to write the whole thing: there's a new Buffyverse book that's come out, about a new Slayer (it's called "Sign of the Slayer"), and from having read some reviews for it on Amazon, I guess the MC falls in love with a vampire in it. And I should mention that I'm really not trying to knock this novel here. At all (especially since I'm sure it's a fine book). I mean, I haven't read it, so it's not fair for me to have any opinion on it as a novel at all.
My issue, however, is the whole the Slayer in it being in love with a vampire thing. And it's definitely not the first thing to do it. And that's my problem: that this is sort of starting to become a trend.
I'll admit that I got into Buffy the Vampire Slayer pretty late (namely because I was too young to watch it when it was airing). I think I first watched it and Angel around 2018, or something like that. And I knew from cultural osmosis that both Angel and Spike where characters who were vampires in the show, and ones that would be love interests for Buffy. And I just remember feeling before watching the show, "She's a vampire slayer and she has a relationship with two vampires? She must not be doing her job very well." And I felt like the show would be something like The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and/or Twilight (Bella doesn't have two vampire love interests. Rather it's a paranormal love triangle between her, a vampire, and a werewolf, but you know what I mean)... when that couldn't be further from the truth.
Joss Whedon himself said that he felt that when he was doing the Buffy and Angel relationship that, yeah, it was a bit of a cliché: but it felt like one he had to do: one, because the chemistry between Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz was off the charts. And two, that it was just kind of too perfect, that Buffy would fall for the one person that she was meant to destroy.
And you know what? I definitely think Buffy and Angel worked, for the most part. Buffy started to fall for Angel before she knew that he was a vampire, so it was probably impossible to halt those feelings even when she did learn the truth. Whereas Angel is taken to see Buffy when she's Called to be the Slayer, and it gives him something to fight for for the first time ever, really.
After a hundred years of just wallowing in guilt because of the things he did after getting his soul, he now realizes he can do more--and try to make amends--by helping her in the good fight, and trying to help this poor girl who wouldn't have much of a chance without him, and who has no idea the things she's really about to face.
And when he sees her parents fighting about her that night (the first night she had to sneak out to slay a vampire), about whose fault it was their child snuck out, Angel sees himself in her--because his own life used to be like that. And he wants to protect her from some of the fall-out of what happened to him.
Then they meet and fall in love (partially because they can understand each other like no one else can, in that both of them are creatures who neither fully belong in the human or demon world. There's a demon in the Slayer, too)... the vampire thing is revealed, and they realize there can never be anything between them and try to stay apart, but can't.
They truly start dating in S2, and are happy, but then they learn more about the curse that was put on Angel that returned his soul: if he ever experiences a moment of pure happiness, he'll lose his soul and become a monster again. Which happens, because he loves Buffy too much (after one night of passion between the two). So Angel and Buffy become enemies, and when he eventually tries to destroy the world she has to send him to Hell.
He does come back a year later (with his soul back, after Willow restored it). And they try to make a go at it again, but they can't ever really be together--and deep down, they know they're kidding themselves and there's no real chance for them--and eventually Angel leaves for his own show, to continue fighting in L.A. instead of Sunnydale (after Buffy's given him the confidence that he really can do good). And they'll have some crossovers after that: always being there for the other, if the other needs them and connected.
It works because their story is tragic... and that they know a Slayer and vampire can't be together. There's also just something so deep and profound, that Buffy and Angel are perfect for each other, in that they'll always put the fate of the world before their own selfish desires--as any good person should--but that's the exact reason they can't be together.
But then, later, they try to do stuff with Spike... And even when I was more of a Spuffy fan, it still worked less for me and I was starting to feel that, "This is giving Buffy a bad look" thing (even if I get how people might argue it instead shows that she realizes the world isn't black and white). Like, writers, if you're saying that Buffy and Angel can never work/should never work because Buffy's a Slayer and Angel's a vampire, why are you almost acting like that's not true of Buffy and Spike, then? And the fact that this becomes Buffy's second vampire lover... like I could accept one, the way they handled it. But two? Really?
There was Buffy and Dracula stuff, of course, too. And Buffy definitely didn't have feelings for Dracula, as she was under thrall the whole time with him. But he's the only vampire she ever drank the blood of. And there was probably supposed to at least be a physical attraction, since originally they'd planned to cast Freddie Prinze Jr in the role.
Then in Boom's first Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU, Xander got turned into a vampire and Buffy wasn't sure if she loved him or not.
And people probably don't count this--and probably for good reason--but Ford was someone Buffy had a crush on before she came to Sunnydale... but in dying of brain cancer (and not wanting to die a slow, painful death), and knowing Buffy was the Slayer, he came to Sunnydale and made a deal with Spike and Drusilla that he would lead her into a trap for them if they changed him. And he succeeded in this... even though she escaped, and they of course didn't get to kill her, so they turned him, and Buffy had to stake him at the end of the episode.
In the "In Every Generation" series, Frankie likes a demon (Aspen, as well. These two Slayers are in love with the same one). But, I guess, at least that's a demon instead of a vampire to make it somewhat different.
And I'm worried the new Slayer in "Slayers" will be in love with a vampire...
I also just know that if the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot show would have happened (if it had been a sequel, instead of a reboot. Because if it would have been a reboot, I would have been okay with Buffy falling in love with Angel again. Even though I would have wanted it to be just Angel. Or Angel and Spike combined into one character for the aforementioned reasons. -shot-), they would have had her fall for a vamp, too.
(I haven't finished reading "Slayer" and "Chosen" yet. So far, I'm not getting the impression that Nina will fall for a vamp, because she's so anti-Buffy, but I could also be wrong. And maybe this could be part of her character development, in realizing the world isn't in black and white as she thought. IDK. I'll keep reading.)
Let's also not forget Faith hitting on Angel and Spike. Though, to be honest, I'm less inclined to count this... because I think we all know she really didn't want them, but Buffy instead.
But, I mean, can we stop? I thought our Slayer Buffy having a thing for a vampire was supposed to be special?
And now, for the heck of it, I'm going to go through any Slayer I can think of who has had a thing for not just vampires (but also those, of course), but a magical being:
The Slayer in the "Girl in Question," who was not Buffy, who slept with the Immortal.
In Buffy season 8, the "Twilight" prophecy is talked about. It seems like a Slayer was meant to have sex with a vampire for this prophecy--this was a part of the next stage of evolution--and they were then meant to evolve even more together (into gods, create a new world together, etc.). This is clearly Buffy and Angel, but I guess there was one point where a group of Watchers had thought it had happened earlier than this--and the prophecy was coming to pass--and they all killed themselves because of it. So was there some sort of vampire and Slayer romance back then (probably not. The comics at least make it clear that Buffy was the first Slayer to ever have sex with a vampire). Unless it was romance between these two (at least temporarily), and it just didn't go as far as sex. Or maybe it was none of this, and they didn't know that part of the prophecy (about Twilight happening because of love because of a Slayer and vampire) at all yet.
Kennedy with Willow, who is a witch.
In one of the Buffy "Tales of the Vampires" comics, this guy and this girl are best friends (it's also pretty clear they like each other). The guy gets turned into a vampire, however... He then finds out his best friend was a Slayer (this is after Buffy activated the Slayers in S7). The two of them are fighting at the end of the story, and it ends on a cliffhanger about who will win. But you kind of get the sense that the vampire will, and that he'll turn the Slayer.
Melaka Fray, at the very least, acknowledges after Angel has this powerful leader moment why her sister Erin thinks that Angel and Spike are hot, even if she still thinks she's a deviant for it. LOL
Satsu with Buffy, who is a Slayer.
Faith with the hitting on Angel and Spike, mentioned above, while surely really wanting Buffy. She also got with Robin Wood, who is the son of a Slayer and has some slight powers because of that. And I also swear there was something between her and Gigi in the comics, who was another Slayer. And that, maybe, the comics were hinting at something between her and Willow in the end.
Gigi: I feel like she and Faith had some feelings for each other (both of these girls being Slayers). And it also seemed like Gigi felt for her one guardian figure (it's been a while since I've read S8). Who was some sort of warlock or sorcerer, who ended up betraying her in the end?
Edit: And, yes. I get why some probably think these relationships work best for Slayers, because Slayers have demons in them and vampires and demons do too, obviously. Or because Slayers have super strength and these beings are strong like them and won't get hurt, and that's fair. (People also find Slayer/human relationships boring, the way they've been portrayed in the Buffyverse.)
But I still think Slayer/human relationships could be done (and at this point, it would actually be more original than pairing a Slayer with a demon): like look at how people love the idea of the Buffy Summers/Dean Winchester crossover ship. It can be done. It just needs to be done right.
#we don't know who robin wood's father was but i assume he was human#i want to headcanon some other relationships here but i won't#in 'child of the hunt' it becomes clear that the 'erl king' loved the slayer lucy hanover but it definitely seemed like she didn't love hi#though. to be fair. we don't get her pov of it at all. but i really doubt it since he took her captive until she escaped and all#i mean that's what the wild hunt does. but still#buffy the vampire slayer#slayers#slayers and vampire relationships#slayer and demon relationships#slayer and supernatural creature relationships#i guess i might as well mention my one headcanon here since i edited the post to list some of the ones i have after all. but this truly is#headcanon heavy--and i don't really know if it's much canon at all. so that's why i'm not putting it the post itself--but i wonder if nadir#might have had slight feelings for the slayer that she was so adamant that angel find a way to bring back or she would kill him#the one who was maybe youngest of their group but was also the sweetest and best person you would ever meet according to them or something#like that. who became an unwitting pawn/victim of eyghon's#the slayers

Everything is quiet on a nice night in Sunnydale, California when the Welcome to Sunnydale sign is driven straight through with a black DeSoto. The driver's side opens and so does the backseat door.
Spike puts his hand out for Buffy to take and he spins her into his arms and dips her as he leaves a kiss on her lips. She laughs as he says, âHome sweet home. God this town will burn.â
Inside the car they hear Drusilla laugh. âPretty fire.â
Xxx
Spikeâ DeSoto comes to a stop outside a factory, it was a little after sunset. He gets out and seconds later the back door of his car opens and Buffy gets out looking around. There's nothing around, no people, no buildings, they are in the middle of nowhere. âI like the hotel better. Even with the blood stains it is better than this place.â
âOh, is my childe sad? Let daddy make it better.â He pulls Buffy by the waist to him and she puts her arms around his neck.
âYou, luv, I can tell are going to like staying at nice places. I can stay anywhere: crypt, hotel, factory in the middle of nowhere, doesnât matter. Drusilla likes the dark vampire lair type places. After we cure Drusilla Iâll take you anywhere you want to go.â
She raises her eyebrows. âAnywhere?â
He nods and she asks. âWhat if I found somewhere that was nice but still dark, could we live there?â
âIf Drusilla is not too weak to move we will live there.â
Buffy smiles, leans up and kisses him. âThank you daddy.â
Spike leaves a kiss on her forehead and says. âWatch over Drusilla while I deal with them.â He motions his head in the direction of the door. She nods and his face changes to his vampire face.
With Spike inside talking, Buffy turns to find Drusilla has got out of the car and is going towards the door where she stops her grandsire. âThereâs power in there I can feel it.â
âThatâs great but you know what else could be great? A new house, what do you think?â
Drusilla doesnât answer her but looks down at her nails. They are black with white tips. Spike did them last night when Buffy and Darla were killing Lothos. âDo you think Iâm pretty?â
She uses the same phrase Darla told her. âCute as a button. Now what do you think? Weâll need a big place even though itâs the three of us. Spike will probably want some minions; he seems like the type that would want that. And weâll need a table for research on how to fix you. Ohhh we could have a garden for you and Miss Edith could plant things.â
âI could sleep naked in the dirt under the stars.â
Buffy smiles as she is getting Drusilla on her side. âYes.â
The younger vamp turns her back on the older one for a second and she hears the door to the factory open and she groans, running after her into the factory.
Spike upon hearing the door open turns his head and at first glance of Drusilla and Buffy, his face goes from vamp face to his normal handsome human face. âDrusilla, Buffy. What are you doing here? You're weak.â
Drusilla points a finger at a twelve-year-old boy sitting higher than everyone else. âHe has power, I can feel it from the outside.â
âYeah heâs anointed.â Buffy can hear the annoyance in Spike's voice, Buffy looks around the room, it's dank and dark and devoid of any color. Just because she is dead doesnât mean she has to live in the dark. Her Spike and Drusilla are the only pop of color in the room. Drusilla in her white nightgown, Buffy in a blue miniskirt and a black tank top with black knee high boots and a brown jacket. Spike is in black jeans, a black tee shirt with the red button up.
âSpike, I'm cold.â Drusillaâs childlike voice breaks the silence of the room. Spike drapes his leather duster over Drusillaâs shoulders.
The anointed one and his minions look at the three, they are weird. âDo you think you can do it?â
âNot faster than nancy boy but yeah I can do it.â

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E7 (part 1)
Lie to me
Playground equipment moving in the wind, not unsettling at all. How many horrors feature this type of thing at the beginning of their films or TV shows?
Then Drusilla comes in, stalks and tries to kidnap a child to amp up the creepy. Well done.
Angel appears and he and Dru have history, which makes sense because if he knew Spike, he would know Dru. We find out later what their real connection is and whoa boy, it is a doozy.
The kicker here is that Buffy sees it all. Doesn't take a genius to work out that they know each other.
Hold on! Giles, wants Buffy to have the night off? Did he get replaced by an alien? Or did he finally listen to his slayer about having a healthy work/life balance?
Passing notes in class. Something I never did in school. I didn't do a lot of things in school. God, my time at school was shit. This is not a new realisation, just remembering.
An old friend of Buffy's appears, probably one of the few she has left from LA, Billy Fordham.
If you have never heard the Divinyls song 'I touch myself' take 3 guesses as to what it's about and the first 2 don't count. This song was also famously used in 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' in the scene where he dance fights the fembots towards the end of the film.
Willow's realisation as to the meaning of the song steals the scene for me.
Angel, honey, sweetie, learn to tell your sort of girlfriend the truth. Things would go much easier if you did.
Ford knows Buffy is the slayer. Buffy keeping being the slayer a secret identity is on par with James Bond keeping secret that he is a spy. Both of them are shit at it.
Mysterious club with very heavy metal doors? Never a good sign. And oh look, vampire wannabes.
Ford taking meds and wanting to turn into a vampire. Hmm, me thinks something is up.
Angel appearing again, but at Willow's house because he rightfully thinks Ford is being sus, and Willow confirms this with the school having no record of him having transferred.
Giles understands that Ford is cute, and that Buffy thinks he is too.
Ford came prepared, he has that going for him, but is still sus.
So, the entire club is made up of delusional people who believe that vampires are fluffy bunnies, and that they are really just misunderstood. Not in this universe they aren't. Hell, Angel and Spike while ensouled can still turn into rage machines if the occasion calls for it. They don't even know that one of the most feared vampires in history is standing right in front of them, that would be terrifying to know. To which I now have to ask, is there much in the way of vampires being good? There's Hellsing where Alucard and Seras are good, Blade from the Marvel comics, Alucard from Castlevania (loved the Netflix series by the way and looking forward to the next one), Underworld has Selene. Are there any others? And not just one or two of them, but where vampires as a whole are the good guys?
Jenny took Giles to go see Monster Trucks... I need to see that.
That angry mob in Prague did a shite job of killing Dru, since she is still walking around.
Dru is referred to as a 'sometime paramour of Spike's' does that mean they have an on-again-off-again relationship or just a very long term one? Because either is sort of believable, especially with how Dru can be.
Genuine question: do I come across as sarcastic in these posts? Because when I read through my notes in my head I definitely sound sarcastic, same when typing. I'm just curious.
Anyway, part 2 will be tomorrow.
