ART RAMBLES: as i mentioned on the tags of my last drawing this piece gave me SUCH a headache #i think it's probably cos it was just supposed to be a quick sketch so i used a more stable pencil brush #but then i really liked it so i decided to properly colour it instead of just doing the watercolour thing i usually do for sketches #but with finished pieces i like the lineart to be kinda messy and the sketch to even show through bit #and since i used the more stable brush for the sketch it ended up looking WAY too clean. not like my stuff at all.#so i just started throwing stuff at the wall to see what could make it more interesting. full background! actual lineart! texture layers!#and this here is what i was the happiest with. i don't... love it though. it should be looking way more interesting given the pose #and then i also did the purge girl halfway through this and it looked SO good right out of the bat (pun intended)#so i went a bit into a spiral. did some realistic stuff i'll post soon. and now am trying out a thick black lineart style.#(i'll definitely still use the coloured lines for the sketchy watercolour stuff though. it just looks way too cute)

somehow, I don't know how, but somehow sewing machines always know when you're nearly done with a project and pick that exact moment to throw a hissy fit

#sewing #sewing machines #I am so close to finishing this dumb swimsuit that I started in 2020 for a vacation that ended up not happening #and which I stuffed into a shoebox and into the back of my sewing stash when I realized I wouldn't get to wear it in 2020 #then pulled it back out to finish for this family gathering coming up in a few days here #it's a one-piece suit and I hate one-piece swimsuits #and no one-piece has fit me off the rack since puberty so I'm stuck sewing it for myself #but I'm very happy with the design and relatively happy with the finished look #the idea is just to have something that is supportive and modest enough to wear around family #and in particular to wear to something like a waterpark with my nephews #something that won't ride up or fall down or come untied or anything like that #so it has a low-cut leg hole and a high-cut neck #and an entire invisible superstructure in the lining underneath to actually provide support and enclosure and all #it's plain black but it fits and supports and won't fly apart at the seams #but this very last step. oh this last step.#I had to drape the exterior bust area directly on me bc I can't account for curves and stretch and such if it's flat on the table #and then I had to wiggle out of it carefully with a ton of pins in the underarm and neckline area #I'm using a double-needle to top stitch the edges as a finish across the whole suit. it did one underarm and the neckline just fine!#but the turn from where the neckline meets the strap and down into the other underarm it just. won't do it.#it has thrown a fit and created a tangle of thread multiple times now. there are only 4" left to sew! just sew it!#it's not hard! we just did the exact same thing on the other side and it worked fine! but no! gotta throw a hissy fit!#ugh. anyway. I have removed all the thread and needles from the machine and turned it off and basically sent it to timeout lol #wrote this rant and gonna make myself some food and I'll fucking finish those last 4 inches later tonight or tomorrow #and then I have one tiny repair to something else I want to take on this trip. hopefully my sewing machine won't throw a fit over that too #istg the only projects this doesn't happen with are the ones that end with a bunch of handsewing #that's the way to trick my sewing machine I guess. but I'm not handsewing a swimsuit lol #at least I'm not so pressed for time that I can't just walk away from it for a bit. getting close to time to pack but not quite yet #my sewing #2024 mood #tagtalking

I do think it's a little silly when someone says they miss a piece of media... Like,the media is right there(probably) ! Go watch that show again or play that game again, it's (probably) not gone! But then also like. I get it. I think that ending is gonna stick with me for a while…

#it was a really good show #not the type of ending I’d expected but still really good #but as I got to the last episode I was like I’m really scared they’re not gonna be able to wrap everything up #and then they somehow did most of it #but in a way I hadn’t seen coming that left many things way more open #but in a way that still worked with the story #especially Augusts ending is wild to me #so fucking happy for Willy and Simon and Sara and Felice tho #very good show I didn’t see that coming #did I get so embarrassed by some of their actions I had to cover half the screen? yes #did I also love it a lot and their decisions made sense for the characters? also yes #me #young royals #for a long while I really wasn’t sure if he would abdicate mainly bc I didn’t think August deserved the throne #but just making August realize the throne is actually not a good thing just as he gets it is a whole other solution I didn’t see coming #and in so glad Sara dumped him bc she deserved way better #ahh it was very good #I think I cried like three times during the last episode #good for them good for them #not really sure what piece of fiction to head to now I can’t really focus on smt new yet #which was a problem as I finished yr at 4 pm today and had no other plans besides chill #and it’s not even a show I need fanfic from bc it all played out so well

The relationship between me and my favourite desserts (Macaron and Leche Flan) is a toxic yuri of its own where my mouth and throat is screaming at me not to take another bite and drink water but I refuse to listen until I finished eating one macaron or a quarter of the lecha flan so I can fully savour the taste. And then I'd run to get the water cuz I can hear the clock ticking down to my punishment in the form of a sore throat if I spend so much as five more minutes without drinking anything to wash the sweetness down.
