Midnights Vows
I really recommend you guys read while playing the song itself
‼️⚠️ Only Fiction …
🎆🌃🌀💍
The neon lights of the strip glowed bright against the night sky, casting a vibrant glow on the bustling streets. Laughter and music spilled from every corner, the energy of the city electric. Y/n clutched Chris’s hand as they weaved through the crowd, her heart racing—not from the chaos around them, but from the way his fingers intertwined with hers.
They had always been spontaneous. Late-night road trips, midnight snacks in diners, dancing barefoot in the rain—being with Chris was like living in a perpetual adventure. But tonight felt different, like something extraordinary was waiting just around the corner.
“Okay, why are you dragging me through Vegas at midnight?” Y/n asked, laughing as Chris led her toward a small, retro-looking chapel tucked between towering casinos.
Chris glanced back at her, his signature grin lighting up his face. “Because it’s Vegas, Y/n! You’re supposed to do something wild and reckless.”
Y/n raised an eyebrow, playfully skeptical. “And this wild and reckless thing involves a chapel?”
“Maybe,” Chris teased, pulling her closer as they stopped in front of the glowing sign that read Eternal Love Chapel.
Y/n tilted her head, her curiosity piqued. “What are you up to, Chris?”
He shrugged, his grin widening. “I don’t know. I just thought… you know how the song goes?”
She rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress her smile. “You mean Bruno Mars? Marry You?”
Chris stepped closer, his hands resting lightly on her waist. “Exactly. ‘It’s a beautiful night… we’re looking for something dumb to do.’” His voice dropped into a low, playful tone, sending shivers down her spine. “Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you.”
Y/n burst out laughing, playfully swatting his chest. “You’re insane, Chris.”
He laughed with her, but his eyes softened as he looked at her. “Maybe. But seriously, Y/n… Why not? Why not do something completely crazy and unforgettable?”
Y/n’s laughter faded, her heart skipping a beat at the way he was looking at her—like she was the only person in the world. She’d always known Chris had a way of making her feel special, but tonight, it felt like he was baring his soul.
“Chris, you can’t just joke about stuff like this,” she said softly, her voice wavering.
“I’m not joking,” he said, his tone suddenly serious. He took her hands in his, his thumbs brushing against her knuckles. “Y/n, we’ve been best friends forever. And somewhere along the way, you became the most important person in my life. You’re my partner in crime, my safe place, my everything. So yeah, I might be crazy, but when I look at you, all I can think is… why not us?”
Y/n’s breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding so loudly she could barely hear the noise of the city around them. “Chris…”
He stepped closer, his forehead resting against hers. “It doesn’t have to be tonight. It doesn’t even have to be here. But I need you to know, Y/n—I want forever with you. And if forever starts with something wild and reckless, then that’s fine by me.”
Tears welled up in Y/n’s eyes as she smiled, her chest tightening with a mix of love and disbelief. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
“Yeah,” Chris said, his grin returning. “But you love me for it.”
She laughed, nodding as a tear slipped down her cheek. “I really do.”
Chris leaned in, brushing a kiss against her forehead before pulling back to look her in the eyes. “So… what do you say? Wanna make this the most unforgettable night of our lives?”
Y/n hesitated for only a moment before throwing her arms around his neck. “Yes,” she whispered against his ear, her voice filled with certainty. “Let’s do it.”
The chapel doors swung open, and they were greeted by a smiling officiant in a sequined jacket. The ceremony was quick, filled with laughter and stolen glances, their love shining brighter than the neon lights outside.
As they exchanged playful vows and slid simple silver bands onto each other’s fingers, Chris leaned in close, his voice a low murmur just for her. “Hey baby,” he whispered, his lips brushing hers, “I think I wanna marry you.”
And as their lips met in a kiss that sealed their love, Y/n knew that this wild, reckless, unforgettable night was only the beginning of forever.

Finding Home
Tumblr media
Summary: Where Luna finds home
Pairing: Zoro Roronoa x Luna (OFC)
Author note: I just wanna hug Chopper and never let go
Warning: none, cuteness
Word count: 1328
Series Masterlist
Finding Home
The Going Merry sailed smoothly through the calm seas, the sun shining brightly above. The crew was in high spirits after their successful adventure on Drum Island and the addition of their new crew member, Chopper. As the Straw Hats gathered on deck, laughter and chatter filled the air.
Chopper, his eyes wide with curiosity, looked around at his new crewmates. “So, what can everyone do?” he asked eagerly, hopping from one foot to the other. “I mean, I know you guys are strong, but what are your powers?”
Luffy jumped up, his excitement palpable. “I’m a rubber man!” he declared, stretching his arms out wide. “I can stretch and bounce around, and I never get hurt by punches or kicks!”
Chopper’s eyes sparkled with awe. “Whoa, that’s amazing!”
“Luffy’s always like that,” Usopp chimed in, puffing out his chest. “But me, I’m a sniper! The greatest sharpshooter you’ve ever seen!”
“And I’m the cook,” Sanji added, lighting a cigarette with a grin. “But I can also kick down anything that gets in my way.”
“Three-sword style,” Zoro said simply, his hand resting on the hilts at his side. His intense gaze didn’t waver as Chopper turned to him, clearly fascinated.
Nami rolled her eyes fondly at the display of bravado around her. “And I’m the navigator. I make sure we don’t get lost at sea and find all the best treasure,” she added with a smirk, causing Usopp to nod enthusiastically.
Chopper was practically bouncing on his hooves with excitement. “Everyone is so cool! I want to learn everything about you guys!”
As he turned around, his gaze landed on Luna, who had been standing quietly to the side, her hands clasped in front of her. His excitement faltered slightly as he noticed her shy demeanor.
“What about you, Luna? What can you do?” Chopper asked, his voice gentler now, his curiosity genuine and kind.
Luna hesitated, glancing down at her hands. Memories of her past, of being told to hide her powers, to never let anyone see what she could do, flashed through her mind. She bit her lip, unsure if she should say anything at all.
Seeing her hesitation, Luffy stepped forward, his grin as wide as ever. “Luna’s got the best powers!” he declared proudly, his voice full of admiration. “She can make plants grow and heal stuff! It’s like magic!”
Chopper’s eyes widened even more. “Really? You can do that?”
Luna looked up at him, still hesitant, but Luffy’s unwavering support gave her a little courage. She nodded shyly. “I… I can control plants,” she said softly. “I can help them grow and heal things. It’s not really a big deal…”
“Not a big deal?” Luffy scoffed, his eyes shining. “It’s amazing! You can make things bloom and grow, even when everything else is dying!” He gestured excitedly to the orange trees Nami treasured so much. “Show him, Luna! Show Chopper what you can do!”
Luna glanced around nervously, feeling all eyes on her. But when she looked at Luffy, his expression was so encouraging, so full of pride, that she found herself nodding. She took a deep breath and turned to the small grove of orange trees.
Slowly, she raised her hands, her fingers glowing faintly with a soft, green light. The crew watched in awe as the leaves of the trees seemed to shimmer with life, new buds appearing along the branches. Flowers began to bloom, delicate and vibrant, and the air filled with a gentle, sweet fragrance.
Chopper gasped, his mouth hanging open. “Wow… You’re really doing that! It’s so beautiful!”
Sanji, leaning casually against the railing, smiled warmly. “You look like an angel, Luna,” he said, his voice gentle. “Making the world a little brighter, one flower at a time.”
Luna’s cheeks turned a light shade of pink at the compliment. She wasn’t used to such praise, and the attention made her a little uncomfortable. As more flowers bloomed, even Vivi, who had joined the crew temporarily, was watching with wide eyes, clearly impressed.
“This is incredible, Luna,” Vivi said softly, her voice filled with genuine admiration. “Your power is truly beautiful.”
The praise from Vivi, a princess she had been so starstruck by earlier, made Luna’s heart flutter with nervousness. She looked down, her hands trembling slightly, unsure of what to do with all the attention.
Noticing her discomfort, Zoro, who had been observing quietly from a few steps away, stepped closer. He stood beside her, his presence steady and reassuring, like an unmovable wall she could lean on if she needed to. He didn’t say anything, but his closeness was comforting, a silent promise that she wasn’t alone.
Luna glanced up at him, her eyes grateful, and he gave her a small, soft smile. It was a rare expression for Zoro, but one that told her he understood and was there for her.
Taking a deep breath, Luna decided to do one more thing. She focused on a single flower, willing it to grow and bloom in her hand. A delicate, vibrant blossom appeared, its petals a soft shade of blue, almost like the sky. She turned to Chopper, who was still watching her with awe, and carefully placed the flower behind his ear.
“There,” she said softly, a gentle smile on her lips. “A flower for our new doctor.”
Chopper’s eyes grew impossibly wide, his cheeks turning a bright shade of red. “F-For me? Really?” His voice wavered, filled with disbelief and joy. He stared at the flower, then at Luna, and then back at the flower, as if he couldn’t believe it was real.
Luna nodded, her smile growing a little more confident. “Really. It suits you.”
For a moment, Chopper just stood there, his little body trembling with excitement. Then, unable to contain himself, he jumped forward and wrapped his small arms around Luna in a tight hug. “Thank you, Luna! This is the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me!”
Luna blinked in surprise, but then, feeling the warmth of his genuine gratitude and happiness, she slowly wrapped her arms around him too, hugging him back gently. A soft smile spread across her face, and the nervousness seemed to melt away.
The rest of the crew watched, smiles breaking out all around. Usopp was grinning from ear to ear, and Nami looked like she might burst from how cute the scene was. Even Zoro, standing close by, felt a warmth in his chest as he watched Luna’s shy, happy expression.
Sanji wiped a fake tear from his eye. “Such a heartwarming scene! Truly, the camaraderie of our crew is unmatched!”
Luffy, as oblivious as ever to the deeper emotions of the moment, threw his arms into the air and laughed. “See, Chopper? I told you Luna’s powers are awesome!”
Chopper, still hugging Luna tightly, nodded enthusiastically. “They really are! Luna, you’re amazing!”
Luna’s cheeks flushed a little again, but this time, the smile on her face was bright and genuine. She glanced up at Zoro, who was watching her with that same soft, almost proud look. He nodded slightly, his eyes saying what words couldn’t.
It’s okay. You’re doing great.
Feeling more at ease, Luna gave Chopper a little squeeze before letting go. “Thank you, Chopper,” she said softly. “I’m really glad you’re here with us.”
Chopper beamed up at her, his smile so big it seemed to light up his whole face. “Me too, Luna! Me too!”
As the crew laughed and joked around them, Luna felt a warmth in her heart, a sense of belonging that she hadn’t felt in a long time. Surrounded by her friends, with Zoro’s steady presence by her side and Chopper’s joyful laughter in her ears, she felt, for the first time, like she was truly part of a family.
And as they sailed onward, towards the next adventure, she knew that no matter what lay ahead, she wouldn’t have to face it alone.

*2024年7月24日-- Our First Typhoon Together <3
Welp, my phone is still wet. Lovely.
So I went out on a side quest to pick me up some rice, and then I ran into Austin, who joined me on my journey around the area. Turns out very few places sell dry rice in the near area, but the Family Mart had some! Too bad the bags were huge and expensive, and when I went up to the counter, the lady told me it was buy one get one (“買1送1”) and although I REALLY didn't need it, I got the second bag too lol. So now I have two bags of rice.
The really cool thing was that right outside the Family Mart was this HUGE temple, so me, Austin, and my two bags of rice went on over to give it a looksee. It was super pretty (當然!) and there was some incense lit up in the ceremonial bowl. I have no idea what god or deity the temple was honoring, and I had no way to look it up either (because my phone was at home), but the statues looked super cool! It's so cool to think about how these temples have withstood so many typhoons over the years, and yet they're still here, beautiful and vibrant.
After that, Austin and I headed back to the hotel, and I joined Jasmine back in our room to start working on some stuff (like this blog post). Too bad my phone is temporarily out of action, because I would totally be working on my final project if I could. Not to mention, the wifi at this hotel SUCKS. Thank God Jasmine is a bro and let me join her hotspot (I would be able to use my own, BUT MY FREAKING PHONE IS BROKEN). Jasmine had her headphones in so she didn't hear it, but I've been making very many unhappy sounds because of my predicament.
I swear, it's always one slight misfortune after another. Hopefully my phone will dry soon, or else I guess I'm really S.O.L. I really don't wanna go to a repair shop and I really REALLY don't want to buy a new phone. All the online articles said it could take a day for the usb port to dry (that's the only thing that's actually wet, my phone itself is fine and was working fine, but it died over night and I can't charge it because of Apple's stupid safety feature that prevents its phones from charging if the usb port is wet, and now it's dead so I can't even override that safety feature). What's really salt in the wound though is that all the online articles I found advise AGAINST using rice, and state that open air is better. So I went on a whole mission and bought overpriced bags of rice for nothing. Super.
But on a brighter (?) note, I'm keeping my window curtains open so I can see the typhoon whip the trees around. At least that's kind of entertaining. Typhoon Gaemi is not supposed to truly hit until later tonight and I have enough food for today so hopefully it should be smooth sailing.
Jasmine and I got to go to the hot springs this morning too, before all the atmospheric chaos and rain, so I'm feeling good. We plan to try out the "Western Styled" hot springs later tonight too, and I'm looking forward to that!

"Sasaki and Miyano the Movie ~ Graduation Arc" ~ Day 1 Report
So I got up bright and early (WAY brighter and WAY earlier than I would have liked) to trudge through the cold and chill to Grand Sunshine Cinema to catch the very first showing of the Sasaki to Miyano movie!
Tumblr media
Curious about what made the cut and what didn't? Wanna spoil yourself rotten? Then hop behind the cut!
This hour-long movie (yup, just 60 minutes) started out with a roughly 10-minute short focusing on Hirano and his adorable, smitten roomie Kagiura in what amounted to an animated rendition of the KagiHira shorts from the first few volumes of the Sasaki and Miyano manga (up to the extra in volume 3 to be precise). This doesn't bode super well for them getting their own anime, but it doesn't rule it out by any means, as Volume 1 of their manga doesn't require having read these previous extras. Just something to keep in mind!
Points I noticed in this short:
they spent like 30% of the animation budget on Kagi fondling Hirano's ear. A good use of resources imho.
Kagi looks...different? Not very different, and not in a bad way, but it felt like something was off. His hair seemed much darker, closer to black than in previous instances?? Maybe I'm just getting old and need glasses tho.
SHIRAHAMA.
NIIBASHI. TALKING AND MOVING AND BEING A DIVA. We love to see it.
Now it was SasaMyaa time!
The movie opens with chapter 33, as Miyano waits to see Sasaki off at the train station for his entrance exam and progresses from there. Things felt very smooth, more than I would have expected for cramming these chapters into the equivalent of two anime episode, so props!
They also lovingly animated all of the stupid background character shenanigans, like the guys stacking oranges from Chapter 33 page 9. What a ridiculous thing to include. I love them for this.
One critique I did have, though: the animation level was the same as in the anime. Oftentimes (but certainly not always) the animation is much greater quality in movies than in the original anime; was kind of hoping that would be the case here, but alas!
The hair discussion made it in--including Sasaki touching Miyano's neck and Miyano freaking out about it.
You can feel Floor approaching as Sasaki steadily begins tightening his straps, warning himself he needs to rein it in and he's not allowed to touch Miyano any more than he has until he passes his entrance exam. It's palpable. I love it.
Sasaki's cold is shown in living, loving color, as is the near-miss with his sister almost barging in on them sharing a kiss.
The Valentine's Day chapter is so lovely too--we finally FINALLY get to meet Mamano (whose name IIRC from the credits is revealed to be 由紀, possibly pronounced Yuki or Miyuki), and she. is. ADORABLE. So loving and upbeat and absolutely accepting of her son when he admits that the person he's making the chocolates for is a boy: "It's nice being in love, isn't it? Your mom's in love with your dad too~"
Not to be missed is the super-DUPER awkward conversation between Sasaki and Ogasawara that made me want to just crawl inside my seat back and never come out.
But that paled in comparison to FLOOR.
Floor was never gonna be much more graphic than it was in the manga, so stop your hoping right there. We got a little bit of movement in things like Sasaki gently lowering Miyano to the floor and cradling his head, or their twined fingers squeezing. It didn't need more than it was, though. There was a lovely soundtrack, Sasaki's thoughts, and really damn good animation. What do I mean by 'really damn good animation' if nothing really changed from the original manga?
Well. The full page I lied panel got A MASSIVE GLOW-UP. Because THIS is what it looked like in the movie:
Tumblr media
Everything in grayscale monotone, except for the eyes, which were a vibrant rainbow hue. GORGEOUS STUFF. Print it out and laminate it.
Miyano's birthday is celebrated in Sasaki's room--which leads to the confrontation with his sister and their fight. The flashback was much briefer than it was in the manga, but they kept the important parts, and it did its job. And what's most important is that Shuumei-san and Yoshikazu were retained, spoken in loving tones that I need to hear on repeat.
The movie ended with the graduation chapter, more Yoshikazus and Shuumei-sans, Hirano being summoned by Kagi with his personal ringtone (which didn't sound very special actually, just a different one from usual probably--Hirano doesn't seem the type to download a super special original ringtone, but he'd definitely choose something other than default).
I expected the memories of Sasaki and Miyano's history together as they roamed the empty halls to play out as flashbacks to scenes from the anime. And it did--kind of. What they actually did was show the boys walking around, and overlaid on the same frames as the current couple, we saw them in the past with a grainy filter in the same scene. This little touch was enough to get me really emotional, something I hadn't expected--their old selves were so different, oftentimes much sadder or uncomfortable (like Sasaki in the bathroom, trying to keep himself from touching Miyano, or crushing Miyano in a hug while he was in drag), and seeing that juxtaposed against them seeming now so calm and confident and so so soft with each other...it just got me.
We got sneak peeks at Eimi and Kagi, and Kuresawa nearly got an eyeful when Sasaki whipped his jacket over Miyano to steal a final kiss, just like in the manga.
We end on Sasaki and Miyano in their cool casual clothes, heading off for a date. All is well.
Roll Credits.

Hi, I just wanted to ask you something if it's no problem to ask.
I really like the old comic feeling your arts have and I would like to know which brushes, textures and color palletes you use? Or any advices for that type of art and where I could possibly find sources that could help learn about.
Hiya!
I draw in procreate and use these products from Retro Supply
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And recently I bought KraftTone by True Grit Texture Supply which has an identical halftone system to Colorlab, but I wanted to know the difference. That being KraftTone has their CMY values (slightly) darker to give a gritty feel compared to Colorlab who gives you brighter color.
Tumblr media
Before either of these products were available I used Debaser by True Grit Texture Supply. Instead of mixing your own halftone colors, Debaser has them ready to go. Just import the color file and brush in where you want the color. I still use this when I’m lazy or don’t wanna put in the extra effort 😅 (it still looks great tho!).
Tumblr media
All these products come included with textured paper, inkers, distress effects and color chart references all of which I use in my art. 👍 These are all available for photoshop, illustrator, and Affinity. And I think right now only KraftTone is available for Clip Studio Paint. I can go into more depth about these products if you want to in another post.
If you don’t know about the comic color process and print here’s a quick article that will help you understand better.
You can find comic references anywhere. I get mine from Pinterest! Searching “vintage/retro comics” will give you a plethora of images that you can click through and get more similar images or find neat websites like this one!
Details I take note of when starting a piece:
If the colors and blacks will be vibrant or faded
If the print will be clean or bleeding and shifted ( or if I’m using halftones at all or solid color)
If the comic will have an overall yellow tint from age
How will I ink the lineart
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There isn’t really a guide that teaches you how to achieve every single iteration of comic style. You get your lineart and halftones down and from there you experiment with effects depending on what look you want to achieve, which is the fun part imo. But on the retro supply website under “resources” they offer tutorials how to achieve various effects and art styles.
If you plan on mixing your own halftones it’s easier color it like normal then translate that color to halftones. The products I use all offer a solid color palette to the corresponding halftones to make the process easier because it does get a tad confusing especially if you forget what color formula you were using ( it’s a pain to match the colors tbh b/c they’re not labeled), I should pre color my stuff, but I don’t and I end up fumbling over myself. Lol.
Hope that helped some! Cheers!

Aaahhh can I pls request a family imagine where Cheka draws on his arm with markers so that he and Leon have matching lion tattoos?? (=^w^=)
Tagging @jessamine-rose, as this was originally their request, made off-anon.
Tumblr mobile was being dumb and didn't save the completed version of this before posting. This just happens sometimes when I have stuff in my queue 😭 I had to take the initial post down, rewrite the other half of the imagine that didn't save, and then repost it (which is what you're looking at now).
Imagine this...
Tumblr media
“... tan! Ojitan!”
Leona groaned, tumbling onto his back and pressing a pillow over his ears. No dice--his nephew’s persistent voice still cut through. A familiar, high-pitched and cheery whine that made Leona’s head throb unbearably.
“What is it?” he snapped, glaring at Cheka from beneath his pillow arch. “Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep here?”
“You’re still sleeping? It’s so early in the day, there’s so much time left to do stuff.”
"That's precious napping time for me."
"You're so weird, Ojitan."
Leona let out a sardonic rumble of laughter. "You have no idea."
The cub grinned, putting a hand on his uncle’s shoulder and gently shaking him. “C’mon rise and shine! I have something cool to show you!”
Ugh.
Leona rolled his eyes, but relented with a sigh. (From past experience, he knew that if he didn’t, he would soon find Cheka sitting on his on his stomach.) “Make it quick, then.”
“Hehe, okay! Guess what I have?”
Leona’s gaze was immediately drawn to Cheka’s right hand, which had remained behind his back the entire time. Clutching onto a drawing pad, no doubt, judging from the markers and torn papers scattered all over the floor of the room. The efforts of childhood whimsy and wonder.
Instead of smiling, Leona frowned. “I thought I told you to make it quick. And I despise guessing games.”
“That’s no fun, though!” Cheka leaned forward on his tip-toes. “Guess, guess! Only one time is good.”
“... A monkey’s uncle.”
The cub’s free hand flew to his mouth, attempting to shove his giggles back in, but to no avail. “That’s silly!! You’re not a monkey’s uncle, you’re my uncle--and I’m not a monkey, I’m a lion!”
“I wouldn’t have known that if you hadn’t told me just now,” he replied sarcastically. “Thanks so much for enlightening me.”
“You’re welcome! Hehe, I’m surprised I know more than you do.” Cheka flashed a grin, ever the oblivious child. “Okay, thanks for waiting! It’s time for my big reveal!”
“Oh, goodie.”
Cheka revealed his right hand, which was balled into a tiny fist. His fingers unfurled, revealing... nothing in his palm. Leona stared down at the emptiness, his expression blank, touched with a little dubiousness.
“... Are you surprised?” Cheka looked hopeful.
Leona threw his head back and laughed. “Is this some sort of a joke, furball? If it is, it’s not a very good one.”
“That’s only half of the surprise! The other half is... this!”
Cheka reached for his left sleeve and yanked the fabric up, revealing a flash of ink upon his caramel-colored skin. Black as burnt sugar, pointed teeth and a mess of a mane sprawling out... not unlike the dark swirls that danced upon Leona’s own left bicep.
“Ta-daaah!!”
His eyes bulged. “That’s...”
... A really crappy imitation of my tattoo.
“Cheka. When the hell did you find the time to do this?” Leona demanded, thrusting a finger at the marker-made mess on the boy’s arm.
“You were napping up until a little while ago, so I sat around and looked at your arm to copy it on mine!”
“You were watching me sleep?!”
“I needed a model! I can’t remember what the tattoo looks like from memory....” Cheka’s ears flattened, worry marring his innocent face. “Um, Ojitan... Could it be that you’re angry with me?”
“... I don't care. Better you than Rook,” Leona grumbled, sinking back into his bed. “You’d better wash that off before you head home. The servants will be beside themselves seeing their impressionable little prince like this.”
Leona grimaced at the thought over their beady eyes bearing into him again. As though he was not already regarded with enough scorn. To them, he was less like a man and more like a wild beast. Simultaneously feared and hated.
“Nuh-uh! I’m never gonna wash it off, cuz I wanna keep matching with you!” Cheka declared stubbornly. He flexed his left arm, causing his shoddily done lion’s mane to flicker. “I’m gonna be just like you one day! I’ll be smart, and strong, and cool... Oh! And I’ll even be a Magical Shift star, too!!”
“Don’t make me laugh. There are tons of role models for you out there. Better people to look up to and idolize, like your old man. After all, you are his flesh and blood... and the prized prince of the savanna.”
“What if I want to be like Papa and Ojitan?”
“You’re chasing an impossible dream.” The words came out more strongly than he had intended them to, each syllable dropping like a cement brick. “If you were smart, you’d know when to quit.”
You’d accept second place and be done with it already.
“... You don’t want to follow in my footsteps.” Leona waved a hand, his tone bitter. The once vibrant viridian of his irises had dullened, twisting into something darker.
“Your future’s brighter than mine. It’s so bright, it hurts my eyes to look at it,” he spat, his spirit shining with spite. “That’s what’s waiting for you, so you’d better take it before someone else comes along to try and steal it from you... someone like me.”
Cheka went quiet, staring at his uncle with a startled expression. The look of an antelope ensnared in a predator’s trap. Hurt and fear, all culminated into one. “Ojitan...”
He’s the same as them. I should have known.
“Do you get it now? I’m not someone worth some wide-eyed kid’s admiration,” he snarled, turning away from Cheka--afraid to meet that sparkling gaze, full of endless possibilities. “If you understand that much, then leave, and--OOF!!”
A small body tackled into his from behind, cutting Leona off. His assailant planted their face against his broad back, and their scrawny arms wrapped around his waist to give a squeeze.
“Leona Ojitan... I didn’t understand everything you said just then, but... I think I kind of understand. You’re... hurting right now, aren’t you? It hurts so much that you don’t know what to do.”
“Me... hurting?” Leona scoffed, even has he balled his hands into fists. His fingernails dug into his palms, leaving marks. “Ridiculous. You’re imagining things.”
“I don’t think it’s imaginary.”
“... What do you know? You’re just a kid.”
“I know lots of things!” Cheka tightened his grip on his uncle, his muscles straining under his skin, the lion of his makeshift tattoo stretching thin. “Like when you hurt like this, a hug’ll make it all feel better! Papa and Mama told me! So... Until it stops hurting, I’ll keep hugging you like this!”
“You’ll what?!” Leona paled, starting to buck and flail against his nephew. He attempted to pry him off, only to have the cub immediately cinch back onto him moments later. “O-Oi, Cheka...!! Let go, I don’t want--no, I don’t need any hugs, damn it!!”
“Hehe! Nope, I can’t do that! Our arm marks match, Ojitan! So I want our smiles to match, too!” The cub squealed, rubbing his cheek against his exasperated uncle’s. “You can’t run away from me!”
“This is why I told you to wash off that stupid marker...!!”

“Natural” - Chapter 13 - Embry Call x Reader
Tumblr media
Movie Night
Waking up in the morning with Embry in my bed was a level of comfort and serenity that I don’t think I could ever describe. I look over at his peaceful form, the sun shining in through the fold in the curtain.
I watch as his chest rises up and down, his slow, peaceful breathing accompanied by a very light snore. His black hair falling over his face that’s nuzzled deep into my pillow. His warm, russet skin shining in the sun beams. His warmth radiating against my colder skin.
“Good morning.” His raspy voice mumbles against the pillow.
“Good morning, Em.” I whisper.
“What’re you looking at, beautiful?” He smirks.
“Just you.” I blush.
I don’t honestly believe that this is something I’ll ever get used to. Embry, and everything about him, felt like an absolute blessing. It felt surreal, really.
“Awe, bean. You’re cute when you blush.”
“Stop.” I whine, slightly giggling.
“No, I like it. It’s cute.” He sits up, wrapping his arms around me.
“I mean, thank you.” I look down at my hands.
“So, I was thinking.” Embry begins.
“That’s a first.” I tease, poking his nose.
“Hah hah, very funny. Anyway, what if we went camping? Now that I won’t have to be here for patrol tonight or tomorrow. We can leave today and spend a night out, and come home for tomorrow. Then you can see your friend and Leah.” His vibrant smile beaming brighter than the sunlight.
“I would love that. We can start packing now.” I shriek, having a difficult time to contain my excitement.
“Of course.” He smiles, leaving a kiss on my lips.
I practically spring up from my bed and begin packing my backpack full of any clothes I would need for tonight and tomorrow. I put on a pair of jeans and throw on a t-shirt.
“Someone’s excited.” Embry chuckles.
“We’ve always talked about camping together, and now we can.” I turn around, smiling.
“I know, I’m so excited to go with you.” He smiles, pulling me close to him.
His hands grab my hips, driving me nuts as usual. I trace my fingers up his biceps until my arms wrap around his neck, pulling myself up to kiss his soft lips once again. His hands tighten their grip on my hips as he deepens the kiss.
“We have to finish packing.” He pulls away breathlessly.
“That we do.” I shake my head.
“We can continue that later tonight.” He gives me a cheeky smirk.
I nod as my cheeks are deepening to another shade of red.
I grab some blankets, pillows, and search for sleeping bags in the closet downstairs.
We pack some food for the small trip before heading over to Embry’s house to pick up his tent and clothes for him to wear.
I look around for Tiffany while we were here, alas she had to have been working.
“Have you talked to her the last few days or have you been completely MIA?” I ask as he packs a backpack for himself.
“She thought I was camping with everyone. We’re in contact.” He looks back at me.
“Good. I don’t want her to worry herself to death.” I smile at him.
“Me neither.” He sighs.
We make our way back to my car and he leads the way to a site of his choice.
“I’ll give it to you, Em. You know these woods better than anyone else.” I chuckle.
“I know, I’m basically a map now.” He laughs, pointing in the direction to turn.
I follow his navigation and after an hour or so of driving, we eventually make it to a trail leading to a clearing, thankfully a bathroom within walking distance.
We grab all of our stuff and begin our journey to the clearing. Embry and I set up the tent relatively quickly.
“I’m hungry.” Embry whines.
“You’re always hungry.” I giggle.
“Yeah, and?” He laughs.
“So let’s eat.” I smile, reaching into the food we packed.
I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I pull it out to see a text from Alyssa.
“Hey (Y/N), are you free tomorrow?” - Alyssa
“Yes I am. Do you wanna come over for a pizza and movie night?” - me
“Sure, sounds good. Should I bring anything?” - Alyssa
“Nope. I can invite my friends, too. If you’d like. :)” - me
“That sounds fun.” - Alyssa
“Okay, come for like 6.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
I place the phone back in my pocket after sending her my address and take a sip of water.
“We should invite everyone over tomorrow at seven. I told Alyssa there would be a pizza and movie night at my house, but she’s coming at six.”
“Sounds fun, I’ll send a text in the group chat.” He says, pulling his phone out.
“Great.” I smile.
We finished eating and cleaned everything up.
“Can we go on a hike?” I ask.
“Of course, beautiful.” His large hand reaches out for mine, pulling me off the stump I sat on.
I follow Embry’s lead the whole walk, which took about an hour or so. We played a lot of iSpy on the way, though.
A chipmunk, the recycling bin, the bag of cheetos someone left on the floor (which I picked up and threw out), the trees, my backpack, and the dog poop someone didn’t pick up like they were supposed to. Those were the answers to the iSpy game we had.
“Okay, we’re here.” Embry smiles.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.” I admire the view.
We were in a canyon of sorts, admiring some of the beauty that the Olympic National Forest has to offer. I look down, noticing the drop off, my heartbeat beginning to race.
“I won’t let you fall, bean.” His arm wrapping around my waist.
“Thank you.” I continue to look around.
Embry always washed my fears away easily. Being with Embry made me feel invincible. I felt all my worries melt away.
I look over at him, smiling at the beautiful boy.
We sat there for a few hours, enjoying each other’s company as well as the view before heading back to the campsite.
It was beginning to get dark and I heard Embry’s stomach grumbling.
“I can start the fire and then we can eat.” I smile at him.
“Sounds good to me, bean.” I felt warm, soft lips press to my temple.
The light from the fire created cast orange all around it, the crackling soothing my ears. The smell bringing me a new sense of peace.
Embry and I ate dinner and roasted s’mores. I sat basically velcroed to his side, just how I like.
“Look at the stars.” He points up to the sky.
“Wow.” I breathe out.
“Come on, let’s stargaze.” He grabs my hand, leading me over to the picnic table at our site.
We lay on it, both of us laying our heads on his arms.
“I like that one.” I point up to the sky.
“Which one? There’s like forty in that direction.” He chuckles.
“That one, Em.” I point again.
“Ahhh, nice. It’s pretty.” He agrees.
“You don’t even know which one I’m talking about.” I giggle.
“I don’t have to. I know it’s beautiful, they all are. Just like you.” He presses a kiss to my cheek.
I turn over to him and press my lips to his. His hands once again find my hips, pulling me into his side.
“Maybe we should go into the tent.” I raise an eyebrow.
“I think we should.” His smirk sends chills up my spine.
And so we did, we took it to the tent.
Soon after, we fell asleep holding each other.
In the morning, the smell of the trees pleasantly invaded their way into my senses. The heat from the sun invading through the polyester walls.
“Good morning.” Embry’s raspy morning voice once again sending chills up my spine.
“Morning, Em.” I smile at him.
“Let’s eat.” He smiles, springing himself up from the sleeping bag.
“You got it.” I smile, following suit.
I caught Embry staring at me, once again. Not something out of the ordinary, though I always wondered why.
“What’s wrong, do I have something on my face?” I ask.
“No, it’s just you. You’re so beautiful.” A blush finds its way to his cheeks, following an uncontrollable grin.
“Awe, Em.” I coo, walking myself over and sitting in his lap.
“I just feel so lucky.” He breathes into my neck.
“Me too. Like the luckiest girl in the world.” I smile, pressing a kiss to his warm cheek.
Sitting in Embry’s presence felt better than merely being near anyone else. It was as if sitting in silence with Embry could beat any conversation with anyone else. I guess that’s a soulmate, though.
“What time is it?” I ask him.
“A little past noon.” He shrugs.
“Okay. So who’s coming tonight?”
“Well, Seth and Leah for sure. Jacob can’t because he’s basically broken in half for a bit longer. Quil said he would. Overall, the rest of them said they’re busy with their friends or families. Well, Jared said he’s too busy ‘doing hot girl shit,’ whatever that means.”
“Alright. Good for Jared, I think that’s a tik tok thing. But Seth, Leah, Quil, Alyssa, and us sounds like a good group.” I chuckle.
“It definitely is.” He laughs, pulling me closer to his chest.
“Well, we should probably head home soon. By the time we got back it’s gonna be after three. And then cleaning all this crap up.” I sigh.
“We can do this again, whenever you want to.” He smiles at me.
“I would like that.” I press a kiss to his forehead.
His warm chest felt like home, and maybe that’s why I always felt like Forks was my home. It was my ticket to Embry my whole life.
We pack up the site and make our hike back down the trail to my car. The drive back once again blasting our shared playlist, revisiting all the feelings we held secret for years.
Embry insisted we stop at his house first since his mother was at work. My heart ached for both him and his mother. Secrets like this are good for neither of them, I couldn’t imagine the pain it brought to them.
The drive to my house was quick, and unpacking all of our stuff didn’t take too long.
I check the time and see it to be after 3:30.
“Well, what can we do now?” I look over to Embry.
“Well, we could get stuff ready. Or we can make out.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me.
“I mean, one of those is far more tempting than the other.” I smirk, walking closer to him.
Next thing I knew, we were on my couch, his warm body pressed against mine. His soft lips pressing onto mine with slight aggression. Embry drove me nuts, there was no denying that.
Some time later, we pulled apart breathlessly.
“Maybe I should get the living room ready.” I smile at him.
“I think so.” He kisses my forehead.
I grab pillows and blankets, creating a comfortable area on the floor for whoever decides to take that instead of the couches. Also blankets for Alyssa and I, as most people who don’t run 108.9 like when they watch movies. I grab snacks and drinks from the latest grocery shopping trip and bring them into the living room, leaving them on the coffee table.
“Alyssa should be getting here soon.” I say happily.
“You excited to see her?” Embry asks me with a kind smile.
“Very. That was one of my only actual friends in Forks.” I return his smile back to him.
“That’s exciting. And now she gets to meet all your La Push friends.”
“She does. And it will be great to finally have some merger there.”
We sat back on the couch, chatting about more things to do on the next camping trip as we were much less limited than others in terms of safety and location. Discussing a group trip with our friends.
Our conversation was interrupted by a knock on my front door.
“Alyssa!” I swing the door open, smiling.
“(Y/N)!” She laughs.
“Come in, let’s catch up.” I pull her in for a hug.
“Yes please.” She giggles.
“Nobody else is gonna be here for an hour, I left that for us to talk about life.” I chuckle.
“Sounds like a plan.”
“I’ll go take a nap, let you guys have your girl talk.” Embry says, kissing my forehead before waving and jogging upstairs to my room.
“So… how is life? How is everything?” I ask.
“Well, my girlfriend and I broke up about a year ago. She cheated on me. So that wasn’t fun, but other than that I’m doing great. I got the program I wanted to a few months ago, I’m gonna become a teacher.” She smiled.
“That’s incredible! Congrats. On the school thing. But as for Chelsea? Seriously? You guys were together from like freshman year of high school. What a witch.” I look at her with comforting eyes.
“Yeah, right? She’s not worth being sad about anymore, though. I’m ready to have fun again, I’ve been okay for a while. I go to school in the fall and I’ll be dorming. I’m quite excited. What’re you doing for school?” She smiles at me.
“Well, I got into the program I want, too. I’m going to be going online, though. But I’m studying economics, I think I want to go to law school.” I smile.
“That’s great! Congratulations.” She beams.
“Right. Wait, where are you going to school?”
“University of Washington. I’m excited.”
“No shot, me too.” I smile.
“No way, you’ll have to come hang out at my dorm sometimes. You’re gonna need to make friends.” She encourages me.
“That sounds like fun.”
We catch up some more before I notice the time. I decided to call to order the pizza at 6:45, that way it would come shortly after people got here. I ordered five pies.
“Five pies? How many of your other friends are coming?” She asks.
“Uhh, I think there’s gonna be like six of us all together.” I shrug.
“Don’t you think that five pies is a lot?” She asks me, raising her eyebrow.
“Definitely not with them. There is no end to their hunger.” I laugh.
“If you say so.” She laughs, doubting my words.
“You’ll see.” I chimed.
I tell her that I should go wake Embry up and begin my walk up the stairs.
I open my door and she his silhouette laying in the bed. The darkness of my room made it impossible to make much else out.
“Embry, wake up.” I say walking over to my bed.
“Already?” He laughs.
“Yeah, already.” I chuckle, placing a hand on his shoulder to wake him up.
“Alright, only for you.” He sits up, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“Thanks. Let’s get downstairs.” I mumble, thankfully the darkness hid the reddening of my cheeks at his softspoken words.
“Good morning, Alyssa.” Embry yawns from the stairway.
“Good morning?” She laughs at his goofiness.
A knock at the door interrupts us. I walk over to see Quil, Seth, and Leah.
“Hey!” I smile.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” Seth beams with his contagious smile.
“What’s up, dork?” Quil laughs.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Leah says softly, smiling at me.
“Come on in, the pizza should be here soon.”
“Thank god, I’m starving.” Quil huffs.
“I just watched you eat two big macs an hour ago.” Leah looks at him.
“Okay, and?” He laughs.
“Alright everyone, this is my friend Alyssa. Alyssa this is Quil, Seth, and Leah.” I smile, pointing to everyone down the line.
“Hello.” She smiles, waving at everyone. Looking at them as I point.
Though her face stopped at one.
I look and follow her gaze, noticing it stopped at the last face. Leah’s.
Leah had a dazed look on her face, mouth slightly agape.
My eyes widen, looking at Embry’s face that mimicked my shock. In fact, so did Quil’s and Seth’s.
“Hey.” Alyssa exhales.
“Hi.” Leah mumbled, her face quickly turning to one of confusion.
“Oh, this took a turn.” Quil mumbled, in which Seth quickly swatted him with his arm.
I gave Quil a glare, letting him know that now was not a time for jokes.
“Alright, so let’s pick a movie. What movie?” I ask everyone, trying to break the silence.
“Let’s watch The Cat in The Hat.” Quil chuckles.
“It’s a true cinematic masterpiece.” Embry agrees.
“What is wrong with you?” I laugh.
“I mean, it is really funny. We used to talk about it in class all the time.” Alyssa laughs.
“You’re right. Is everyone good with watching that? I think we all need a good laugh.” I smile.
“Yeah. That works.” Leah mumbles.
“Sure. I’m down to watch anything.” Seth smiles.
“Great.” I turn the TV on and begin playing the movie.
Leah takes a spot on the floor by herself, in front of Quil and Seth that took the couch next to the one that Embry and I sat on. Alyssa found herself a spot on the other side of me.
About fifteen minutes into this nonsense, I hear knocking at the door once again.
“Do you want me to pause it, babe?” Embry asks.
“Please don’t.” I smile and walk to the door to get the pizza.
“Your loss.” Quil huffs, laughing at the movie.
I roll my eyes as I get the pizza from the door.
“Let me help you.” I hear Leah say behind me, grabbing the pizza from me so I can pay the delivery guy.
“Thanks, Leah. You can keep the change.” I smile at him.
“You got it. Where’s your bathroom? Also can I borrow a warmer shirt? I’m cold.” She asks, putting the pizza down next to the snacks on the coffee table.
I look at her confused, as she knows where the bathroom is down here, also because this girl would never be cold. It’s then that I noticed the look in her eyes. She didn’t have to use the bathroom and she wasn’t cold. She needed to talk and she needed to talk now.
“You can use the one upstairs, there’s one next to my room. I’ll show you where it is and I’ll get you a sweater.” I nod.
“I’m kinda cold, too. Can I also have a sweater?” Seth asks, noticing the discomfort in his sister.
Quil and Embry look at Seth with a dumbfounded look, though I wave them off.
“Uh, yeah. Come follow, too.” I manage to say.
All three of us walk up the stairs and into my room.
“Are you okay?” I ask Leah, shutting my door.
“I don’t know, I’m so confused.” She says softly,
“I understand. That was a lot.” I lay a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Seth walks over and places another comforting hand on Leah’s other arm.
“I just… Everything I saw felt so right. I just, I don’t know her. I didn’t think I would imprint on a woman. It’s not even that I’m mad about it, I always felt attracted to some women, I just never actually dated any. I just assumed I either wouldn’t imprint or I would imprint on a man, because none of the guys ever imprinted on another guy, even in the stories. But what do I make of it?” She asks me in a panic, speaking a million miles a minute.
“I know, I know. Of course it feels right, it’s supposed to. But just remember, it doesn’t have to be romantic if you don’t want it to be.” I remind her.
“It was in what I saw. I saw us together, I saw us happily holding hands. I saw us kissing. I saw us cuddling by a fire. I saw it all.” She looks at me with concerned eyes.
“Leah, it’s okay. It’s all okay. That’s beautiful, if it’s what you want.” I say.
“Leah, if you’re afraid about imprinting on another woman, don’t worry about that. I don’t care. Mom doesn’t care. Nobody here would care. We love you for you and we want you to be happy.” Seth rubs her back comfortingly.
“You mean that?” Her lip starts to quiver.
“Of course. You’re my sister, you’re my best friend.” Seth pulls her into a hug.
“Leah, I’m here for you every step of the way. We all are. I think that you should be her friend, see how that goes. If it develops further, then it does. If not, don’t stress. You’d then have another best friend.” I smile at her.
“Thank you.” She smiles, nodding her head and hugging me.
“Who knows, Leah? Take things as they come. We’ll be here every step of the way, okay?”
“Okay.” She nods.
“Bring it in.” Seth grabs us both and pulls us into a huge hug.
The crushing weight of his arms was one that felt really nice. I felt all the love in this hug. We stay like this for a few moments before I break the silence.
“Let’s go get some pizza before Quil and Embry eat it all. Or torture Alyssa.” I laugh.
“You’re right. We’ve been up here a little long.” Leah smiles softly.
“They better have saved us some pizza.” Seth huffs.
“I’m sure they did. They might’ve killed two pies already, though.” I chuckle walking out of my room and down the stairs, Seth and Leah trailing close behind.
“Welcome back, you missed a lot.” Quil chuckles.
“Shut up. There better be pizza left.” I glare at him and Embry.
“There is, there is.” Embry defends, placing his hands up in surrender, chewing on his pizza.
“Good, I’m starving.” Seth says, grabbing two slices from the box.
Leah and I both grab a slice before sitting back in our spots.
“Where’s your sweater, Seth?” Quil teases.
“They didn’t fit him.” I look at Quil with hard eyes.
“Yeah, it was a shame.” Seth laughs on the couch.
The rest of the movie was filled with laughter. I sat in Embry’s lap, appreciating the warmth he brought me.
“Next movie?” Embry asks.
“We can watch Jackass.” Quil suggests.
“Oh yeah, because you guys just need ideas. You, Paul, and Jared will be tearing up the town by tomorrow morning if we watch that.” I laugh.
“You got me there.” Quil laughs.
“Great, it’s settled. We’re watching Mean Girls.” I announce.
“Oh god.” Quil whines.
“It’s a great movie, you’re gonna love it at the end of the night. You’ll be quoting it, guaranteed.” I tell him.
“It is a great movie.” Alyssa agrees.
So we watch it, and halfway through the movie I notice that nobody is more invested than Quil, Embry, and Seth. Causing the girls and I to laugh at them.
After the movie ended, we all began to get up and stretch.
“Thank you for having me, (Y/N). I think I’m gonna get going now, though. I have work in the morning but I had fun, we should all hang out again some time. It was great to meet you all.” She smiles, hugging me goodbye.
“Yeah, of course, we should hang out again soon. I’ll walk you to the door.” I smile, leading Alyssa to the door and watching her get into her car, noticing Leah do just the same.
“Thank you!” She calls out as she gets into her car.
I waved goodbye before shutting the door as she drove off.
“Well, we should all probably get going soon.” Leah trails off.
“Alright, I’ll see you guys soon.” I smile before I pull her into a really tight hug.
“Thank you.” She whispers in my ear before pulling away.
“Bye, (Y/N). Thanks for having us. I had fun.” He smiles before they take off.
“I mean, I should probably leave, too. I know you guys value your alone time, now.” Quil wiggles his eyebrows.
“Shut up, dick.” Embry pulls him into a headlock, giving him a noogie.
“That’s a weird way to say thank you for helping you not be a father at 18, but okay.” He laughs, wrestling Embry back.
“Thanks, Quil. I thank you for your help. But Embry did say he would do this.” I giggle.
“Fine, go get your own condoms from now on. I’m not taking them from Paul for you anymore!” He laughs as they roll around.
“You stole them from Paul?” I laugh from the couch.
“Yeah, I hold you two with a very high value.” Quil tells me.
“I see. Enough to risk a beating from Paul.” I laugh.
They both eventually tire themselves out and joining me on the couch.
“You guys done, yet?” I ask.
“Yeah, I just had to kick his ass.” Embry kisses my temple.
“Still a weird way to thank me.” Quil laughs.
I can’t help but laugh at my two goofy ass best friends.
“I should go, and you should go home for once before your mom has a heart attack.” Quil says, looking at Embry.
“You’re right.” He sighs, standing up.
“You should, she probably misses you.” I encourage him.
“I know. I love you, bean. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He presses a kiss to my forehead.
“Sounds good.” I smile, hugging him.
“Embry, you don’t talk to me like that. I’m hurt.” Quil places a hand over his chest, faking a pained face.
“Oh shut it.” Embry shoves him, laughing.
“Goodnight, guys. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
I watch as they walk over to the treeline, knowing exactly how they were getting to their homes.
I go up into my room and lay in bed, reliving the last few days of my life.
How fuckin nuts that just two days ago I was face to face with vampires that wanted to kill me.
And tonight I watched The Cat in The Hat.
Man, life’s pretty weird.
I pick up my phone and sent a text to Embry.
I love you.
I put the phone on my nightstand, and drifted off.

It was a beautiful night and you had the windows open to enjoy the sweet, fragrant breeze as it carried the scent of night-blooming jasmine into your new living room. You had just spent the better part of an hour covering the carpet with a tarp and methodically taping off the trim, getting ready to paint the boring eggshell white walls a more vibrant turquoise. As an artist, there was something soothing to the actions, to even just the intent to paint, to transform your surroundings into something brighter. It was a balm to your frazzled mental state.
It had been a stressful day to say the least, overseeing the movers and contractors while juggling phone calls from your day job and trying to keep the dogs calm in a brand new environment. It was made all the more worse by the obvious, looming absence of your newly pronounced husband. He was originally supposed to be there to help with the move, but now it looked like the same incident that him cutting your honeymoon short was likely to extend into another week.
You were disappointed of course, but not exactly surprised. You knew what you were signing up for when you agreed to marry the BSAA Captain, but it didn’t stop you from wishing that the man could take at least one well earned vacation without it being interrupted by bio-terrorism.
At least with Chris being away for a while, you had some time to make the new house feel a little more homey before he got back. As of now, you had only managed to unpack the essentials, a few kitchen boxes, some stuff from the master bathroom, and some sheets for the bed. The house itself was still a maze of bare walls, moving boxes, plastic wrapped furniture (unfortunately including your bed frame) and stray bubble wrap.
That, along with the usual worry-induced insomnia that always gripped you when Chris was called away on an extended mission, led to you setting up to paint at 8 o’clock at night.
You had decided to make a night of it, cracking open a cheap bottle of wine, the only one you had that was twist-off since you had no earthly idea where your bottle opener was hiding in the mess of boxes, and dragging out the old boombox to keep you company. You popped in one of the mix CD’s you made back in college and cranked the music up just loud enough to avoid pissing off your new neighbors.
About an hour into painting, you were half tipsy and partially covered in paint, but you were actually having fun and had managed to make decent progress, completing two of the four walls. Your first CD of the night ended, so you took another swig of wine straight from the bottle and selected a new one.
As a new song played and you picked the paint roller back up, your two dogs started barking from where they were sequestered in the other room. You didn’t think much of it since they had been outside recently and been going off at every little noise all day, still not quite comfortable in their strange environment. You knew the doors were all locked and bolted, so you just let them get it out of their system and went back to work with a shrug.
A decision you’d come to regret when you soon felt a hand on your shoulder.
You shrieked and spun around, brandishing the paint roller as a makeshift weapon. The intruder dodged at the last second, narrowly avoiding a bright splat of turquoise across the chest. Your heart beating wildly, your legs almost gave out when you recognized the man standing in your living room.
“Easy there,” came your husband’s familiar rumbling voice, his hands outstretched towards you like he was trying to approach a particularly feisty feral cat.
“God, Chris! You scared the shit outta me,” you dropped the roller, not bothering to look where it landed, and launched yourself into his waiting arms.
He laughed, catching you and lifting you off your feet. “Baby, you are covered in paint!”
“I don’t care. You’re home,” you said into his neck, your body relaxing for the first time in days as you inhaled his scent. He was still wearing his travel-rumpled uniform and probably hadn’t showered in days, but you didn’t mind. He was alive and back where he belonged, that was all that mattered.
“Mmm yes I am. I like what you’ve done with the place,” he quipped, craning his neck around you to survey the half-painted, mostly empty living room. The only furniture that had made it in so far was the sectional couch, still covered in plastic to protect it from any stray paint. You had also set-up a lopsided ‘table’ out of boxes to hold your boombox and half empty wine bottle. It was a far cry from the clean, perfect household you had planned on welcoming him home too.
“Hey,” you whined, shimmying back down to your feet and pulling away to put your hands on your hips. “Don’t mock the process. I’ve been working my butt off to-”
“I hope not,” Chris interrupted, reaching around and groping your ass through your shorts.
You laughed and smacked him in the chest. “You’re a real comedian tonight, huh?”
He bent down and kissed you, and you lost yourself in the feeling for a moment. “I’m anything you want me to be, baby.”
You hummed and wrapped your arms around his neck, letting him pick you back up and going limp in his arms. His lips found your neck and started to leave a series of soft, wet kisses from your jawline to your collarbone. You sighed contentedly. “I just want you to be Chris. I missed him.”
“He missed you too.”
Chris took a deep breath, the action making his chest press even more firmly against yours. This was what he loved most about coming home, even back when home was your old cramped apartment. Being able to leave Captain Redfield and the BSAA and whatever horrors he had faced in the field behind, and just be Chris again. Wrapped in your arms, everything was simple. He was just yours. Your husband. He wondered if that would ever get old, and hoped to god it didn’t.
Fingers playing with the short hair on the nape of his neck, you pulled back so you could see his face. “You need anything, hun? We don’t actually have any food yet, but I could order something. There are a few places nearby that should still be open.”
Chris shook his head. “Nah, I’m good. This,” he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours again, his arms tightening around you. “This is everything I need.”
You felt your heart clench and used your hands on his neck to bring him back down for another, deeper kiss. He hummed, coaxing you to open your lips so he could slip his tongue in to tangle with yours. A rush of heat whooshed down between your legs.
“I need you too,” you breathed after separating for air. Chris’ eyes went dark.
“I know, baby. Let me take care of you.” Two strong hands cupped your ass and hoisted you up higher until you instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist. He turned and headed for the wrapped-up couch. “My poor wife, I promised her she wouldn’t be able to walk after our honeymoon and didn’t come through. I need to make it to you, don’t I?”
A sudden surge of arousal stole your voice and you could only nod as Chris sat down on the arm of the couch. He moved you effortlessly until you were settled, straddling one of his muscular thighs. You could feel the heat from his body through your flimsy gym shorts and didn’t bother to hold back a moan.
“You’re so pretty like this, dressed down, no make-up, paint in your hair.” He reached up and tugged at some strands of your ponytail that must have gotten in the way while you worked. You smiled sheepishly. “And I gotta be the luckiest person in the world to be the one to come home to you.”
You felt flushed at his words. “I love you so much.”
Chris kissed you as a response and you got the message as clearly as if he had spoken it. You felt his adoration in the way his hands roamed your body, caressing you gently and finding all the familiar spots that made you shiver. Your own hands shot out to his shoulders, anchoring yourself as the fire he was building inside of you slowly began to ramp up.
Desperate for more, you rocked forward as he continued to kiss you, making you gasp against his mouth as the movement dragged your core against his leg, your underwear and shorts putting delicious pressure on your clit. Chris swore, using his hands to guide your hips into moving again and again until your body took over and you started to ride him in earnest.
“Can I take this off, baby?” Chris tugged at the old, over-sized shirt you threw on before you started painting. Once again, all you could do was nod, your focus split between him and your approaching orgasm. Warm hands trailed up your body after the fabric as he slowly, deliberately rolled it up and over your head.
“This too?” He asked, fingers hooked into the band of your sports bra. “You wanna let me kiss your beautiful breasts while you ride my thigh?”
“Oh god, Chris,” you panted, throwing your head back. You were getting close.
He squeezed you through your bra and your hips stuttered from the added pleasure. “That a yes? Come on, let me hear it.”
“Yes,” you nearly screamed and he wasted no time in sending the restrictive garment flying across the room to join your shirt.
Your skin was hot, but his tongue was hotter as he bent to give much needed attention to your sensitive breasts. He licked and kissed your skin, skimming the edge of your nipples, not quite giving you enough to send you over the edge.
You whimpered. “Chris.”
“I got you, baby.” Finally, he took one of your nipples into his mouth as one of his hands snaked down the front of your shorts. Deft fingers pushed inside you, his thumb finding your clit and rubbing it relentlessly.
Now riding his hand, your legs turning to jello as your climax built. “Fuck,” you shouted.
“That’s it. You’re so wet for me, my little wife. I want to see you come. Can you do that for me, baby?" He asked, his breath ghosting across your skin as he rambled. He switched sides and pulled your neglected nipple into his mouth, teeth scraping the overly sensitive flesh.
The sweet burst of pain sent you careening over the edge, your whole body shaking as your orgasm hit you. Your mouth dropped open, a scream caught in your throat as he finger fucked you through the aftershocks until you were so overly sensitive that your body squirmed involuntarily away from his hand.
"God, you're perfect." He carefully gathered your still trembling body into his arms and cradled you close to his chest. The soothing thud of his heart beat helped you come back to earth as you buried your too hot face in his shirt. Chris rubbed your back, fingers tracing little circles that left goosebumps on your skin.
"Mmm that feels nice," you almost purred.
You stayed cuddled together like that for a long while, both of you reluctant to move or speak, not wanting to break the quiet, loving spell that had fallen. For the first time since you moved in, the new house felt full. Like home.
Then a loud bark from one of the dogs made you jump. Chris laughed and you relished being close enough to feel it rumble through his chest. "I guess I better go say hi to Dumb and Dumber."
"Don't be mean," you scolded. "Poor things missed you too. I mean, I came back from our trip without you, then packed up all our stuff and moved to a completely different place. They probably thought they'd never see you again."
"Then I better not keep them waiting." When he started to stand, you made to get up too, but Chris shook his head and gently transferred you from his lap to the couch. "You stay, I'll go let them outside. I need a cigarette anyway."
You frowned. Chris had quit smoking back when you first started dating, however he had taken it back up this year and you hated it. Mostly because you knew it was due to stress from his job and he refused to talk to you about it. But he had only just gotten home and you wanted this blissful moment to last as long as possible. You bit your tongue and saved the usual argument for another day. "Don't be too long."
"Don't worry, I'm not done with you tonight yet." He pressed a quick kiss to your forehead and walked off. You couldn't help but laugh at the sound of him greeting the dogs from the other room. Chris had been against getting a pet at first, putting on a stern face and relenting only when you dragged him to the shelter and placed an adorable, wiggly puppy in his over-sized arms. You left that day with two and he'd been a huge softie for the pair ever since.
A similar story to when you first started dating, you mused as you laid out on the couch, the plastic sticking uncomfortably to your bare skin, but you couldn't muster up the energy to move. You also had to wear Chris down with your unbearable cuteness before he brought you home. When you had first met him, he had done little else in your presence but smoke cigarettes and brood.
You must have dozed off in your post-orgasm haze because the next thing you knew, your husband was gently shaking you awake. You stretched out languidly and moaned as some of your joints popped.
"I can carry you up to bed if you want."
You shook your head and grinned up at him. "Just resting up for round two."
"Oh really?" Chris helped you up and spun you back in his arms. You pressed yourself up against him and the rough fabric of his uniform felt amazing against your bare chest.
"Of course. Why don't you go upstairs and start the shower? I need to put the paint up for tomorrow, but I'll join you."
"You saying I stink?" You squealed as he tickled your sides with the accusation. After a moment of enjoying the torture, he let you wrestle his hands away and place them on your hips.
“No,” you replied, hopping up on your tip-toes to peck his lips. "I'm saying I want you wet and naked and completely at my mercy."
Chris growled, pulling you back into a kiss. His teeth grazed your bottom lip. “Yes, ma’am.”

He loves me, he loves me not…
Those were the same words that you kept repeating for a few days now, a flower representing if the man you have a crush on likes you back. To any other person, it seems stupid that a flower will judge your love life but you heartily disagree. Flowers and love have always been associated with one another and from a viewpoint, it makes sense on why picking petals off of flowers can determine your fate with the person you love.
Jung Hoseok. You two knew each other but at the same time you didn’t. The first time you two caught each other’s eyes was during elementary school. He was one of the popular kids: with his cheery smile, bubbly personality, and warm aura, nearly everyone became friends with him. You, on the other hand, were more of a wallflower. You only had a few close friends and you spent your time reading books instead of playing games. Some people call you boring but who cares about them.
During recess in 1st grade, you decided to read in the middle of the field. It seemed ideal, the grass was green and the sky was a beautiful shade of blue. There wasn’t even a cloud in sight. All of a sudden, a soccer ball came speeding towards you and hit you straight-up in the head. You couldn’t remember what happened but when you opened your eyes, you saw a worried Hoseok hovering face-to-face on top of you in the nurse’s room.
“Y/N-ah! You’re okay! I’m so so sorry that I hurt you! I should’ve known you were there.”
“It’s okay. Uh, my head kind of hurts…”
“I’ll go get some ice for you!” When he passed the “ice bag” (which was basically a frozen paper towel), you felt a peculiar feeling. You didn’t know why but there were sparks when you grabbed the ice bag from him. What was it? Eventually, he had to leave for his classroom but when you were free to leave the nurse’s room, he offered to walk you to class. By then, you figured out what that feeling was. And it became a 12-year crush on the boy who hit you with a soccer ball.
Like some coincidence, both of you attended the same college together. You didn’t expect to see anyone from your school during your freshman orientation but when you saw the familiar sunshine smile, a wave of relief and fear washed over you.
Hoseok being the extrovert that he is made friends with nearly the whole campus, is in a sorority, and hosts the biggest parties the university has ever seen. You continued to be the loner that you were but luckily you found a close friend in Nayeon.
As you and Nayeon were strolling across campus, you saw Hoseok and his girlfriend talking and chattering with Starbucks in their hands. You felt a pit of jealousy in your stomach, internally yelling at yourself for not having the guts to tell him how you truly feel.
However, you expected him to go out with someone. He can’t stay single forever just for you because he barely knows you and your feelings. If he did, then you would move to another state out of embarrassment.
“Y/N, stop looking otherwise he’s going to think that you’re creepy!” Nayeon giggled, pushing you away from the couple. “Why won’t you ever talk to him?” “I can’t. We didn’t really interact during high school.” “Look, college is about starting a new life. Come on, you’re 18 now! You’re an adult! Don’t let your fears get in the way of having fun!” “Besides, they’re dating!”
“So? You can be friends with him!”
“Not now, I have class. I’ll see you around!” You made way inside the building and into your sociology class, the professor setting up his computer for a lecture. You didn’t know a lot of people here and the person who sat next to you dropped out.
All of a sudden, a guy with rainbow-styled clothes and a vibrant aura entered, giving a high-five to the professor and waving to your classmates. Your eyes widened, the man who has been invading your thoughts is actually in the same class with you.
Hoseok scanned the room for a place to sit, his face brightening when he saw an empty seat next to you. Your heart started to race, he’s actually going to sit next to you! “Oh, Y/N! I didn’t know you were in this class! I just got moved here and I’m so glad I found someone I know!”
“Yeah, uh, hi. I thought you were gonna sit with someone else.”
“Nah, actually I wanted to talk to you ever since orientation but I never saw you around. However, I saw you walking by and staring at me and Julia.” Oh, that’s his girlfriend’s name. Interesting.
“Heh...no..you didn’t see anything!” “You’re cute. I hope we have more classes together!” After everyone has settled in their seats, the professor started going on about the lesson but you couldn’t care less about what he had to say. The way Hoseok was so invested in the powerpoint but occasionally stopped to play games was more intriguing than whatever was going on. No, he must think you’re crazy. You snapped out of it and attempted to focus on the screen.
“From this week’s lesson, I am going to assign you all a project. Your will be grouped by pairs and they will be determined by the place you’re sitting in right now.” You internally counted down the pair of seats from the row you’re in and sure enough, you’re paired with Hoseok. He smiled at you, holding your hands excitedly. You obviously reciprocate the feeling but your head didn’t let you show it.
“Yay! We’re going to be doing our project together! This is going to be so fun!” You smiled and nodded, trying to come up with things to say but your mind was blank.
“W-wait, would your girlfriend be okay?” Wow Y/N, that’s the first thing that you say? Way to get your man.
“No, I think she’ll be chill. Besides, you’re like one of my childhood friends so it’s cool.” At least you’re a friend in his eyes.
The session ended 15 minutes later and you couldn’t wait to get out. As you quickly stuffed your books and laptop in your bag, Hoseok tossed a little airplane at your head.
“That’s my number if you want to talk about the project and...other stuff. If you’re free tomorrow, do you wanna get started? There’s a party I want to go to at the end of the week and I want to get this out of the way.” “Uh, sure. I’ll text you later,” you said shyly, zipping your bag up and exiting the room. You felt your body sweat and your heart pound rapidly. Your brain still can’t wrap around the fact that Hoseok sits next to you and you will be working on a project together.
“Hey, what’s up? You look like you just got out of a haunted house,” Nayeon said as you approached the familiar bench where the two of you always sat.
“Hoseok just transferred to my class, he sits next to me, and we’re doing a project together!” “Ooh, go get your man!”
“No no, this is bad! I always act so weird around him! Plus he wants us to work on it tomorrow! What should I do?” “First, relax. Take a deep breath,” Nayeon instructed, placing her hands on your shoulders as you slowed down your breathing. “Next, don’t worry about a thing. Try to push aside your feelings for him and talk to him as you would with another person.” “Only he’s my crush for about 12 years!”
“So? I know it must be awkward due to your feelings for him but if you act awkward, then you wouldn’t be close to him. And you want that, do you?” “Yeah…” “You got this, don’t worry!” Nayeon’s words gave you some hope and encouragement, which made you feel better. She was right, you can’t keep acting this way for long. Even though he was dating someone else, at least you’ll have him close as a friend, right?
You never told anybody this but you secretly kept a daisy and you picked off the petals every day. It was down to four petals and you decided to take two off.
He loves me, he loves me not.
However you didn’t want it to end with a negative note so you picked one last petal off.
He loves me.

The next day came and you were sitting at a local cafe, waiting for Hoseok to arrive. Since you arrived a few minutes early, you had enough time to go over what you want to say and if you look good enough.
Surprisingly, he came on time and even gave you a mini hug. You watched as he placed his bags on the ground and pulled out his laptop.
“Hi Y/N! I hope I didn’t keep you waiting.” “N-no, not at all! You came on time actually!” “Good, well do you want to order anything at first?” “Sure, I really want coffee right now!” As you two waited in line, you shyly gazed over at Hoseok who shined brighter than any sun in the world. You accidentally brushed his hand with yours, causing him to laugh.
“How come we didn’t talk much throughout high school? I can’t remember the last time I really talked to you except yesterday.” Hoseok asked, scanning the menu for a drink he’d like. “I don’t know, I guess we had different classes and you were more popular than me…” “But I would’ve been friends with you no matter what.”
“Would you? I’m not exactly the most popular girl in school.” “Yeah. You seem chill and it’s nice having a reserved friend against all my loud and hyper ones. I hope you take it as a compliment.” “Uh, I do. What are you gonna get?” “I’ll have a vanilla latte. It’s a classic but it’s iconic at the same time.” “I’ll get what you’re getting.” You watched him order and talk casually to the cashier, a common thing you’re scared of doing. It must be nice dating him, he sounds like the guy who can be the life of the party but still has an eye for you.
“Do you want me to pay for my-” “No, I shouldn’t have to make you pay. I mean they say the gentleman pays for the first study date,” he replied, swiping his credit card. Oh my god did he just say-
A few minutes later, the cashier gives you your drinks with your name scrabbled on the cupsleeve. You and Hoseok grabbed them at the same time, accidentally bumping together. You blushed at the proximity, jumping back with fear. Geez, why are you acting like this? You really are a fool.
An hour later and both of you made decent progress on your projects. Hoseok decided to take a break and scroll through his Instagram while you worked on some slides.
“Hey, Y/N, do I follow you on Insta?” “Uh, I’m not sure. I think so?” He checked his phone again, a frown on his normally joyful face. “No I don't. What’s your username?” “I’ll type it in for you.”
He nodded and passed you his phone. You quickly typed your user, hit the follow button, and went back to his profile. He had a lot of followers due to his popularity and personality, which shocks you considering that you’ve never met someone with over 5,000 followers.
“Y/N, ever since I saw you yesterday I wanted to get to know you. I feel bad that we barely interacted throughout high school and I want to make up for that. So just hit me with what you got.” He leaned forward, interested in hearing what you have to say.
Your mind immediately stopped working as you quickly tried to come up with an interesting conversation. And the only event you could think of was the time where he hit you with a soccer ball in elementary school.
“Actually Hoseok, we have known each other since we were 1st graders.”
“Really? Were you in my class back then? God, I can’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday but you manage to remember that.” “Yeah, there was a time when I was reading out in the middle of the soccer field. I was the perfect target to be hit which is what you did. I don’t remember what happened after the ball smacked me in the face but when I woke up, I saw you waiting for me. You offered to give me ice and walk me back to class when my headache stopped. We barely saw each other after that but that was still one of the most significant moments in my life.” “Oh yeah, I still feel bad that I did that-” You took a deep breath, trying to work up the nerve to say what you’ve always wanted to say to him. It’s now or never, just do it!
“Hoseok, ever since that day, I’ve loved you since.” Your words shocked him, his mouth dropping open and his eyes the size of saucers. He tried to comprehend what you said when all of a sudden, you burst into tears.
You shouldn’t have said it, it was too soon. Your vision blurry of tears, you stuffed all your stuff in your bag and ran out of the cafe.
“Wait, Y/N! Wait! Hold on, we need to talk about this!” “I’m sorry Hoseok, I shouldn’t have-” “No, this is important! Y/N, look at me!” He spun you around and forced you to look at his face. You tried to blink away your tears and he quickly flicked them away.
“Y/N, are your feelings true? Did you love me for that long?”
You nodded slowly, tears threatening to spill from your eyes again. It was so scary waiting for him to either reciprocate those feelings or walk away.
All of a sudden, he gave you a kiss. And it wasn’t like any other peck, it was one full of want and passion. He quickly pulled away and gave you a tight hug.
“Thank you for telling me how you feel. And I like you back.”
He broke the hug and wrapped an arm around your shoulder as you two walked towards campus. You felt your heart slowly relax, he likes you as well! Maybe all that pining and worry was for nothing! “Y/N, it’s getting dark so do you want to stay at my dorm? I don’t have a roommate so it’s okay,” he said, heading the opposite direction from the path that leads to your dorms.
“Sure thing. It’s okay as well.” You were totally freaking out inside, you’re going INSIDE his dorm. After a few minutes, he opened the door and you carefully walked in, your nose wrinkling a bit. Iwas messy due to the overflowing trash bags full of takeout and beer bottles but overall it wasn’t too bad. You hung your bag on a random coat stand full of jackets and baseball caps. There was a blanket and a pillow on his couch where you could possibly stay.
“Sorry if it doesn’t look too appealing, I’m kind of lazy to clean my room,” he sighed, stuffing the full bags in a random corner. You shook your head, carefully sitting down on his couch. Hoseok sat down next to you, loosely laying his hand around your shoulders.
“So, what do you want to do Y/N?” “I’m not sure. Is it bad that I want to stay like this?” “No, I do too.” He moved closer to you, your bodies touching and you felt heat rise up to your cheeks. You lied down on your back and you felt his presence above you as he slowly leaned closer to you. “Do you want to do this?” You couldn’t think of the right words to say, were you really about to do it with your crush? It’s now or never, Y/N. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for.
“It’s okay, I want to do it. But I’m not experienced in this type of stuff,” you confessed.
“Then I’ll teach you. I’ll go slow with you, I promise.” He kissed you again, the same feeling like the one outside. It was slow and romantic, just the way you imagined. He probed his tongue in front of your mouth, asking for entrance to which you let him in. Hoseok started to remove your T-shirt but stopped immediately to ask for your permission.
“Are you sure this is okay with you?” “Yes, I promise. I’ve always wanted this to be with you.” “Good. I’ll make you feel so good.” He pulled off the shirt and carefully took off your white bra, a mundane action that made you feel butterflies. After everything was taken off, you immediately covered your chest. You weren’t used to being exposed to someone like this, much less the guy you love.
“Don’t worry baby, you look beautiful. I promise,” Hoseok assured, gently removing your arms. He latched his mouth on one of your nipples, sucking on them feverishly. You let out a loud moan before biting your lip to stifle them. What if someone was there? “Don’t hide those moans for me, baby girl. I want to hear them,” he murmured, his mouth still on your breast. After hearing his words, you started to let out a series of moans and whimpers. While his mouth was on one, he was using his fingers to play with your nipple and tug on it a bit, a loud whine escaping your mouth.
“Please…” “Aww, does it hurt, little girl?” You shook your head as he slowly made his way over to your jeans, cupping your covered heat. You could feel yourself become more wet since no one has ever been near that area before and you wanted him to touch you more. Hoseok hastily pulled off your jeans and underwear, throwing them off to the side.
You felt embarrassed that you were completely bare in front of your crush and you wondered if it was too soon to back out of this. But what’s done is done and you’ve wanted him to see you like this for a long time so you decided to have some confidence. That’s what Nayeon told you, right?
“Did you ever have something in you?”
“No, this is my first time ever doing this. I’m kind of worried.” “It’s okay, I’ll help you. Now, I’m going to do a bit of foreplay to get you ready for my dick. It’s basically like warm-ups before the actual thing. Don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt.” You felt his fingers linger near your entrance and you nodded at him to enter. He suddenly purged a slender finger inside you as you let out a moan, him slowly thrusting to make you comfortable.
“You look so cute, taking my finger like it’s my cock. I don’t even know if you’re ready to even take it.” “I am! I’m ready! Please, keep moving!” You felt a wave of confidence overcome you, surprising yourself and Hoseok. He turned his shocked expression into a smirk, curling his finger and adding another one inside you.
He was stretching your walls out well to later accommodate his dick, making scissoring motions inside and finding your g-spot. All of this pleasure was too much for you as you held onto Hoseok’s arms and fed his ego with mewls and whines. You couldn’t form a single word due to the pleasure he was giving you, even though it was only two fingers.
“Ah, ah, Hoseok, I-” He suddenly adds a third finger and keeps thrusting quickly, his palm rubbing your clit. His palm was quickly replaced by his mouth as he sucked on it harshly.
“You gonna be a good girl and cum for the first time? Are you close?” he teases.
“Oh my god, oh, Hoseok…” You felt tiny beads of sweat drip down your forehead from the heat and pressure, your walls tightening around his long fingers.
You felt a knot in your stomach which you assumed that your orgasm was coming soon. Hoseok could also tell and kept going faster, making fast come-here motions and playing around with your clit.
“You’re close now, are you? Such a good girl as I stretch your tiny pussy out for my big dick. That’s right baby girl, cum for me now. Cum all over my fingers and face.” His words were your breaking point as you felt that knot snap, your orgasm arriving. You moan out Hoseok’s name as he stares at your cum flow out of your system. He sucked on his fingers before taking some of your juices and bringing it to your mouth. You suck on them wantonly, causing Hoseok’s dick to twitch. Maybe someday you can suck him off with your cute mouth.
“Good girl, you did so well baby,” he praises, making your stomach have butterflies from his words. You watch as he strips himself to his boxers, your eyes widening on what could be under them. He palms his cock for a bit, staring into your eyes seductively.
“Are you ready for this?” You nodded rapidly, wanting to have his dick inside you. He slowly pulled down his boxers and his cock immediately sprang up, looking erect and large. You gulped at what’s going to enter you, Hoseok smirking at your reaction.
“Don’t worry, it’s going to be okay. I’ll go slow at first, I promise,” he assured, the tip of his cock slightly brushing against your pussy.
You braced yourself for him to enter you, whining as you clenched around his length.
“Oh my fucking god, you’re so tight. You’re doing well baby,” he groaned, slowly pulling out and pushing in. You found yourself at a nice pace but after a while, you signalled him to go faster. This is really it, you’re going to be losing your virginity to him! He started to ram into you quickly, his dick filling you up and hitting many different nerves inside. You clawed on his back, trying to keep yourself steady from the insane pace he was going at.
“Look at you trying to take my cock, such a cutie,” he coos, toying around with your breasts again. You let out a mewl at his words, lewd sounds filling the room. Your walls started to clench around him tightly causing Hoseok to let out low grunts and moans.
The now familiar feeling of your orgasm started to make its way again, the knot returning as you approach it for the second time. Hoseok could tell that you were close as well with the way your cunt was tightening around his dick.
“You going to cum again, baby? That’s right, make a mess on my big dick,” he grunts, slowly reaching his own high as well.
You let out a moan as your juices came pouring down again, your whole body shaking and your cunt sensitive from cumming twice. Little white stars started to appear in your vision from how much pleasure you had. Hoseok started to thrust faster and suddenly pulled out, stroking his length to release all of his seed onto your stomach. After it stopped spurting out, he took a minute to catch his breath and leaned down to kiss you on the lips.
“How was it, sweetie? Was it okay?” he asked, caressing your cheek.
“I-it was great. Thank you so much, I didn’t expect it to be like this.” “I’m going to get a towel to clean you up and some clothes. I’ll be right back,” he smiled, leaving the living room for a bit.
You stared at the ceiling, thinking about what you’ve done with him. Even though many people your age think of sex as just a way to get pleasure, it meant a lot to you because you were giving your body and trust to a person. Obviously, Hoseok was very special to you and you were grateful that it was him who took away your virginity. You loved him enough to let yourself be exposed to you and you knew that he must’ve had sex with other girls but did he feel something special with you? Was it only you who were feeling this way.
Hoseok came back dressed in a T-shirt and shorts and in his hand was another T-shirt and a towel. He carefully wiped off the cum that landed onto your stomach and thighs, making you get goosebumps from the touch. You put on the T-shirt he gave you, the bottom of it reaching your thighs.
“So am I going to stay here for the night?” “Of course! Why would I let you go back home at this hour?” “Uh, am I going to sleep on the couch?” “Hell no, it’s too stained for you to sleep there. You can sleep in my bedroom with me.”
You felt your heart beat faster from the thought of sleeping next to him. He picked you up bridal style since you were too sore to walk and laid you down on his bed. Since it was late and there wasn’t anything you needed to do, you decided to get ready to go to bed.
Hoseok watches you go to sleep and decides to join you. He stares at the ceiling, thinking about what he did with you. It was nice seeing his childhood friend again and he definitely enjoyed having sex with you but he felt different after. When you confessed your feelings for him at the cafe, his heart felt relieved for some reason. It was different than when his exes and current girlfriend confessed.
Do I love Y/N?
He leans over to you and lightly strokes your hair, finding you adorable. He wishes he found you sooner since that day in elementary school, he wishes he asked you out earlier. Maybe tomorrow he could ask you to be his girlfriend. But that would mean he’s cheating and he was never a big fan of breaking someone’s heart just to be with another person. It made him less of a person and all of a sudden, he felt guilty about what he did today.
You were such a sweet person and he didn’t want to harm you by rejecting your feelings...but he doesn’t want to break the trust of a person just because you were a childhood friend.
Hoseok’s heart ached as he decided to let you go due to the guilt of cheating on his girlfriend, even though he would much rather have you here beside him.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you found yourself awake with Hoseok sitting next to you. You smiled as you remembered what happened yesterday, feeling better than ever.
“Good morning, Hoseok!”
“Ah, good morning, Y/N!” “Do you want anything for breakfast?” “Listen Y/N, I need to talk to you about something. It’s important so please listen. Uh, yesterday shouldn’t have happened and I feel like you shouldn’t have slept with me.”
“Wait, why?” “Do you remember that I have a girlfriend?” “Did you break up with her?” “No...so that means I cheated on her.”
You felt your heart break as Hoseok avoided eye contact with you. Your first time was with someone who had a girlfriend and he cheated on her with you.
“You’re right. This shouldn’t have happened. Why was I stupid enough to let you take my virginity?” “I’m so sorry, Y/N. I don’t think we can see each other anymore.” You felt hot tears drip down your cheeks, feeling embarrassed and foolish. The man you loved took your virginity but it meant nothing. It was just a one-night stand.
“I’m going to go now, I don’t feel comfortable here. But I have a question, you know how much I loved you for over a decade. How much that night meant to me and how much you mean to me. Did you ever feel the same way? Did you ever feel something between us during that time?”
You looked at Hoseok’s face, scanning to see if there’s any emotion. He looked into your eyes but he shook his head. Hoseok desperately wanted to say yes but he just couldn’t. He couldn’t hurt someone else for you.
“N-no, it meant nothing to me. I guess it was just a one-time thing. This shouldn’t have happened, I’m sorry that I never told you before.”
You let out a sob as you made your way out of his bedroom, grabbing your bag and putting on your shoes so you can leave. You looked back to see if Hoseok followed you but he still remained in his room. With your heart torn into pieces, you trudged out of his dorm without a final goodbye from him.
Tumblr media
It’s been a few hours since you and Hoseok saw each other. Luckily, you didn’t have class together but you stared at him talking with his girlfriend like nothing never happened. He locked eyes with you and there was an intense connection for a moment but you broke it since that’ll never happen again.
You pulled out the flower which only had a petal remaining. Even though flowers don’t accurately predict your love life, this one knows what will happen between you and Hoseok. You thought he loved you back but it turned out to be nothing. A tear fell out of your eye as you pulled out the last petal, the answer evident from the now-lifeless stem.
He loves me not.
a/n: hope you guys don’t hate me too much over the ending! love y’all <3

Chapter 1 of Right Here by Your Side
Thomas gazes up at the large wooden building, nearly a mansion, surrounded by miles of forest property that seems to go on forever. Flowered vines crawl up the walls, vibrant moss making its home in the cracks it makes. The shutters at the windows were once brightly painted, he can tell, but now all that was left were a few steaks and chips of faded color. He can’t help but wonder how his great grandfather had managed to take care of all this by himself for so long.
“Huh, so this is the place he left you to inherit?” Joan comments, stepping out of the car to stand beside him. Dressed, of course, with their usual bright orange beanie they never leave without.
Talyn puts a hand on their hips and knocks their shoulder into Joan’s, their ever-colored hair bouncing slightly from the movement. “It reminds me of those old haunted houses in movies, you think this one’s got any ghosts?”
“Hardy har har, I’m sure it’s not that bad.” Thomas tries for a smile, turning to his friends. “It’s just been left alone for a year, I’m sure it just needs some cleaning up and then it’ll look as friendly as I remember it.”
Joan squints up at the house. “Hm, possibly, but first things first is getting you moved in.”
“Right!” Thomas smiles brighter, coming over and popping open the trunk of his old car. “The rest of my stuff should be coming later with the moving truck, so I only brought more of the essential stuff for now.” He picks up one of the large boxes stacked in the car, all of them messily labeled with sharpie.
The trio makes their way into the house, piling the boxes where they go and emptying a few. Thomas was just working on putting a few things away in the kitchen. The house itself was pretty nice, a bit rustic for his tastes but maybe a few new things here and there could fix it. It will feel more like home when he moves some of his own furniture and trinkets in, and fixes the numerous scratches littering the floor.
He didn’t know his great grandfather all that well. He got to visit a couple of times that he could remember as a little kid, but after a particular accident and a few arguments between his parents, they stopped letting him come. He was rather surprised to get the news that Grandfather Alkwin had set him to inherit his home and what he has been told is an animal sanctuary and reserve.
Hopefully, the animals here were in good shape with no one around to check on them in almost a year.
Thomas jolts out of his thoughts at the sound of Joan shouting upstairs somewhere, sounding delighted. Curious what the commotion is about he sets down the plates he had just pulled out of the box and quickly heads up the stairs. “Joan? What’s going on?”
As Thomas makes it up the stairs Joan peaks around the corner of the hall waving him over, looking rather ecstatic. “Dude come look at this!”
Joan opens the door to a bedroom, looking oddly clean and used for a place no one’s visited in awhile. Fancy coffee mugs littered the dresser, with a few polaroids dispersed throughout. Picture frames hung on the walls, full of pictures of landscapes or a couple people. A pair of sunglasses layed on the bedside table. On the bed, looking rather unimpressed by the humans invading its space was an extremely large and elegant cat. It gazed at them with eyes that seemed to hold far more intelligence than a cat should.
“Holy cow!”
“I know right! The cat’s huge!” Joan laughs. “I think it’s a Mainecoon but I’ve never seen any that big! Do you think it was your grandfather’s?”
“I don’t know, maybe? This isn’t his room as far as I know.” Thomas steps inside, glancing at the mugs and polaroids. “These look too recently used to have been just left here.” He picks up one of the mugs, causing the cat to hiss and jump over to glare at Thomas.
He finds himself putting it back down, suitably chastened. The cat purrs and rubs against his leg, looking up at him. He leans down and offers it his hand to sniff and it does so, purring louder and bumping its head against his hand.
“Hey Talyn, get on over here!” He hears Joan yell, followed by footsteps running up the stairs. The cat turns its head to Joan and padds over, mrowing curiously.
Joan crouches down offering his hand to the cat cooing at them just as Talyn comes up to the room. “Wow giant cat!” The cat seems immensely pleased with all the attention, strutting around slightly and trilling at the two for more pets.
Thomas hums, turning away from the group to look more closely at the pictures on the walls. He recognizes his great grandfather in a few with people he doesn’t know...some of them looked off somehow, though he couldn’t quite place why. There was a guy in a few photos wearing sunglasses and a small fur coat.
“Huh, I think my grandfather did have someone living here, helping him. There’s a guy in some of these pictures that has the same sunglasses on as the ones on the table.” He comments with curiosity.
“You think this might have been his room?” Joan asks, glancing up at Thomas with a raised eyebrow
“Maybe, and I think he’s still living here. If all the coffee is anything to go by.”
The cat makes a strangled sound, distinctly not cat-like and arches its back. It looks around for a moment and then leaps away, scrambling out the window. Scaring a few crows who immediately squawked and flew away, fading into the distance.
There was a moment of silence among the trio.
“...Alright that, uh, that was weird.” Joan comments as they help Talyn to their feet. “Wanna see what other strange stuff we can find in the other rooms?”
“Oh, there should be a big library or study somewhere downstairs, think my grandfather has some interesting things in there.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
The trio make their downstairs going down a long hall of doors. Most rooms in the house were empty, cleaned out of whatever his grandfather had stored in them. One room that caught his friends’ interest seems to have been turned into some sort of greenhouse area.
Thomas lets them admire the strange plant room as he continued down further to the end of the hall where a room stood with large double doors, leading to a humongous library. Only to freeze at the sight of someone else in the house!
“Wha-whe-who are you?!” Thomas oh so eloquently shouted in surprise.
It seems the young man in the library was just as surprised to see Thomas as Thomas was to see him apparently, nearly dropping the book he was putting back on the shelf.
Thomas could have sworn he looked odd, something being off, something not quite right and different about him, but just as he had the thought it disappeared as the man ran a hand down his chest as if to smooth nonexistent wrinkles in his outfit.
“What? Who am-- Who are you?!” He spat back, glaring through thin wooden framed glasses.
Thomas sputters, taken aback. “I asked you first!” The guy’s outfit was too neat and fancy to be some thief trying to rob the house, plus Thomas hadn’t seen any other cars parked nearby so what the heckity heck was this guy doing here?!
The stranger didn’t seem to like that response, wrinkling his nose as his brows furrow further. His dark eyes seemed to spark with something dangerous. “I don’t care who asked first, you are trespassing on this household. If you do not leave soon…” He pauses, a hand moving from his side and opening slightly with the sound of wood creaking, echoing through the cavernous library. “...You will not be leaving at all.”
Thomas quickly puts his hands up in peace, taking a step back away from the threatening man. “Woah, hey! I’m not trespassing, I own the place! Or, uh, inherited it from my grandfather. If anything you’re trespassing!” He points an accusing finger at him.
The man pauses. “Wait…” He cocks his head. “Thomas?”
“Yeah, that’s m’name.” Thomas finger guns awkwardly.
The man’s whole demeanor changes, dropping his arms and looking rather horrified with himself. “Oh Gods! I hadn't realized it was you! Alkwin only showed pictures of when you were--” he stopped himself, “Never mind that!” He waves a hand as if to wave away his previous sentence. “Have you settled yourself in fine? Got all your belongings unpacked?”
Thomas can’t help but rub his neck nervously, the guy had just been threatening him and was now checking in asking if he was moving in ok?...Wait.
“You know my grandfather?”
“Why, I-” The guy clears his throat, returning to a stiff posture and gaining a serious air to him. “We were compatriots, I helped him care for the land here.” He hums, seemingly realizing something. “How rude of me, I haven't introduced myself. Please, call me Logan. I’ll be here to help you, just as I did for Alkwin.”
“Right, um, thanks.”
There’s laughter in the hall, getting closer. Logan tenses up, eyes darting to the door with that same dangerous spark form earlier.
“Oh right, I brought some friends with me! Should, uh, probably introduce you to them, heh.” Thomas quickly makes his escape, leaving the library to meet his friends halfway and stopping them before they go any further.
“Aw geez, Thomas you ok?” Talyn puts a hand on his shoulder, looking him over worriedly
“Well that depends, I think I just found a friend of my grandfather’s who’s somehow here and just threatened me? Before checking in to see if moving is going well?” He runs a hand stressfully through his hair.
Joan nods. “Think that’s how most family reunions have been for me for the last couple years too,” They joke.
“Joan!” Thomas playfully shoves them away, laughing. “Just get in here and be my moral support would you?”
“Of course.”
When they enter into the library, Logan is nowhere to be seen, simply vanished it seemed. Or if the open window was anything to go by, possibly climbed out from there.
“Huh, guess they got worse social anxiety then you do.”
“Joan!”
“What! I’m just joking,” They laughed.
Talyn had wandered over to the desk in the room, digging through the drawers. “Guys look at this.” They pull out a mini statue of clay, about six inches tall, looking extremely life-like, and sets it on top of the desk.
“Was your grandfather some kind of sculpter in his spare time?”
Thomas shakes his head, staring confusedly at the statue. “I don’t think so? It looks awfully familiar though, he likely bought it from somewhere?”
“It’s got a strange symbol on the back,” Talyn turns it around, revealing some kind of strange possibly hieroglyph type symbol on the back of it. “I don’t know what it means.”
“I don’t either, I think for now we should just put it back. It’s gonna get late soon and I need to finish unpacking the few boxes I have left.” Thomas picks up the statue, an odd feeling of familiarity to it as he sets it back into the drawer.
“Right! Then let’s get those boxes finished so Talyn and I can head home before it gets too dark.” Joan states, making their way out of the room with everyone else close behind.
Several hours later, with his two friends sent on their way home, Thomas sighs, looking at the wide space...of his new home. There was still all of his grandfather’s furniture here, but it still felt so empty with just him in the house.
How did his grandfather do it? Living in such a big space by himself, Thomas already felt lonely and his friends just left!
With a shake of his head he heads upstairs to the bedrooms, making his way to the end of the hall. He had chosen to stay in the room right across from where his grandfather’s room was, where he would stay when he used to come for visits.
Running a hand lightly across his shirt where he’s memorized the faint scars on his chest were, he pauses in front of his grandfather’s door. Peering into the room. It doesn’t look all that different from his memories, there are a few new succulents by the window, a new dream catcher sporting rainbow colors. Thomas can’t help but wonder if he put that up in honor of when he finally came out to the whole family or if his grandfather just wanted a splash of color.
He slowly sits on the bed, smiling at the memories. He would run in here climbing onto the mountain of a bed as it seemed at the time when he was so small. Seeking his great grandfather for comfort when the spooky sounds outside scared him...He lays down, strangely emotional. Curling up on the top of the comforter and closing his eyes. Willing his tears away and taking a deep breath of the familiar scent of the room. Of wood and something else, he could never place.
A small mew startles him as he opens his eyes, spotting the cat from earlier looking up at him, somehow looking sympathetic. It jumps up, nuzzling itself under Thomas’s arms and curling up close to his chest.
He lets out a watery chuckle, closing his eyes again.
It’s going to be okay.

After Harry had left Holmes Chapel, every spark of joy in Y/N's life slowly died out with the part of him inside of her. The day she turned fifteen was also the first time she'd spent a birthday alone. Celine was abroad for a three-month exchange program. Her grandma, who lived in Brighton had just passed away, so both of her parents had to go there for the funeral. Since she refused to come along, they left her home with her mother's younger sister, aunt Lynn, who was only twenty-two at the time and didn't even bother to remember her name.
"Sweet baby, do not tell your parents that I invite some friends over, okay? Your mum is gonna be so mad," the young woman said, holding Y/N by the shoulders and the teenage girl could only pay attention to the sound of her aunt chewing bubble gum. For some reasons, Lynn always had something in her mouth. If she wasn't chewing gum, she had to make sure her mouth was kept busy by eating something, or someone. Y/N had met her three times before but each time she was snogging a different guy. Sadly she was the only option for a 'babysitter', just because Y/N's parents didn't believe their fifteen-year-old daughter was capable of staying home alone.
"But today is—"
"Shit!" The woman exclaimed, holding her head. "You're right! It's Friday night, I should throw a party. Play with your dolls, baby. Your aunt has adult stuff to take care of."
"My dolls?" Y/N muttered under her breath as the bedroom door was slammed shut in front of her eyes. Putting on her favorite song and turning off all the lights, she lied down, staring at the spinning fan above her head.
All the kids her age probably spent their fifteenth getting drunk and making out with their crushes, or losing their virginity without their parents knowing. But there she was, locked in her room while her aunt was having all the fun she was supposed to have. For the first time in her life, she found herself alone. She'd always been a loner, yet she had never actually felt it until that night. She stayed utter still in silence, holding Thumper close to her chest. The stuffed animal could probably hear every sound of her heart cracking open. Her mother wasn't there to tell her what a woman she'd become, nor was Harry to sing her the birthday song. It was just her, alone in the dark, with a purple bunny that still smelt just like him.

Celine always said that working in the library was the worst decision Y/N had ever made, because there was no job more boring than organizing dusty old books. But the thing was, Y/N loved her boring job. She mainly got paid for sorting and shelving books according to their categorization, which wasn't really hard work, not to mention that Ms. Florence, the librarian, was really easy-going. Y/N got to spend most of her time in the fiction section, avoiding her responsibilities to read and write as much as she wanted. Besides, she really liked her co-worker, whose name was Alice.
Alice was a year younger than Y/N. She liked to talk and Y/N liked to listen, so they were pretty compatible. Finding a drinking buddy in university was easy, Y/N had plenty of them; the hard part was finding a buddy you could trust. So even though Alice wasn't what Y/N would consider a close friend, she could be someone to count on.
"Why is it that every time I see you, you're reading something?"
Alice's voice pulled Y/N's attention away from the novel on her lap, as she looked up and found the tiny brunette smiling at her. Y/N leaned back against the bookshelf, crossing her legs so there was room on the floor for Alice to sit down as well.
"I have a surprise for you, big sis!" Alice said, making Y/N roll her eyes and chuckle.
"You've found another porn book, haven't ya?"
"No! An actual surprise!" The younger girl giggled, then finally showed Y/N what she'd been hiding behind her back. "Ta-da! Two tickets to see Heathers!"
"Heathers The Musical?" Y/N dropped her jaw when the other girl nodded. "I love Heathers!"
"I bet you do! You seem like someone who enjoys dark comedy with tragic endings."
Alice's comment made her laugh, but she couldn't say it wasn't true. Her life itself was already a dark comedy.
"Are you giving me these for free?" She asked, pointing to the tickets and Alice's lips curved into a smile as she nodded fast in response.
"I bought these to go with a friend next week, but we're both gonna be busy that night. So just consider this as my temporary birthday gift to you. I'll buy you something else tomorrow."
"How do you know today's my birthday?" Y/N's eyes went round as her mouth fell open, yet the grin on the other girl's face only expanded.
"I was cleaning Ms. Florence's desk this morning when I found your CV. I didn't have time to actually get you something so—"
"Alice..."
"I know you hate birthdays, but please accept these tickets or else I'll die!"
Y/N rolled her eyes, chuckling a bit at how dramatic that sounded, but eventually, she accepted the birthday gift from her co-worker, and thanked the girl for being so thoughtful. "By the way, there's really no need to get me something else," she said, making Alice snort.
"Don't be silly! You're getting a proper birthday gift from me." Alice barely stood up when she flopped onto the floor again. "Oh, and one more thing! Do you wanna go out tonight? I know this pub that's—"
"No, thanks. I've got a lot of work to do tonight."
"But it's your birthday!"
Y/N gave the girl a shrug, lifting a corner of her mouth as she replied, "I never celebrate it."
"Boo, you suck!" Like a child, Alice blew up her cheeks, eyebrows knitted together. "But if you change your mind, ring me up, big sis!"
Y/N tried to contain her laughter as she watched Alice hop away and almost fall head first when she tripped over a stool. It was only when her clumsy co-worker had gone out of sight that Y/N finally checked her watch and realized her shift was just over. She rose from the floor to place the book back on the shelf, then put the tickets into her bag before heading out. Usually, she would always be the last person to leave, but since it was her birthday, she still wanted to do something special for herself, even if it was something as simple as going home before Ms. Florence.
Instead of taking the bus, that day Y/N decided to walk home. For the first time in two years living in that city, the girl finally paid attention to what was going on around her; it was also the first time she had realized how boring London had always been. The grey color of concrete dominated the entire city; it was hard to spot a hint of green anywhere, unlike Holmes Chapel, her home.
Y/N missed that place so much, now more than ever.
She missed the meadows behind her house at springtime, when all the wildflowers added vibrant colors to the fading green. She missed the tall pine trees surrounding a field full of white poppies. She used to run across that field, imagining herself in the opening scene of The Sound of Music, and she could still hear Harry's voice calling out "Bambi, wait for me!" as he tried to catch up with her.
He was the green that she missed the most.
The sound of her ringtone cut right through that thought, causing the vivid images before her eyes to fade back to monochrome. His name showed up on the screen, as if he knew she had been thinking about him.
"Hello?" She answered, standing close to the wall on her right so she wouldn't get in the way of the other pedestrians.
"Are you on the way home?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, I'm just a few blocks away. Why?"
"I'm coming over."
She snorted, pursing her dry lips. "I'm busy tonight, remember? Birthday dinner with Isaac?" That lie was as smooth as melting butter coming from her mouth, yet her insides were heating up and her hands started to shake. She was glad he couldn't see the way she shut her eyes and pressed her lips into a firm line after lying to him.
"I'll see you in five."
"Wait, I said—" Y/N began, yet couldn't finish. Harry had already hung up on her.
.
.
.
The sun was sinking fast now, turning the sky to grey tinged with purple and pink. Harry was already waiting by his car outside the building when Y/N returned, standing with his back facing the ruby-red skyline. With golden-rays casting down upon him, Y/N thought Harry glowed even brighter than the sun itself. But of course, he didn't have to know.
"Happy birthday." His voice was husky and deep as he handed her a white poppy. "Just like the ones back home," he said, and the reluctance from her expression made him feel the need to add, "I didn't buy it. I stole it from a flower shop on the way here."
Y/N didn't know if that was true, but his slop-sided grin made her doubt every single one of his words.
"Headline: Harry Styles stole a flower for a mystery girl!" She said, swiping her hand across the air like she was presenting the idea to him, which only made the beam on his face grow twice as big as he pointed to his car. "Get in, kid," he told her. "Before what you said become reality."
"Where are we going?" She asked in hesitation.
"To your birthday party."
"My birthday party?! But I'm—"
"I'm sure we've got a lot of time before Isaac returns from Italy to take you to dinner."
That one sentence got Y/N tongue-tied. The girl couldn't make a single sound, instead, she was gawking at him like a fool. What did she expect though? He would find out sooner or later because he was still friends with Isaac. So all she could do at that moment was try to come up with an explanation, in case he asked her to tell him why she'd lied. However, he didn't ask her anything. Harry flashed a smile as he walked back to his car and told her to come along. But Y/N refused. She couldn't just follow him blindly without knowing exactly where they were going.
"You're not taking me to a fancy restaurant, are you?"
"Bambi, the last thing I want is for the paps to eat you alive." Harry chuckled and opened the car door for the girl. "Don't worry, kid. It's just gonna be the two of us."
.
.
.
The loud music and laughter from downstairs made it almost impossible for Y/N to even hear the voice inside her head. The birthday blues made it hard for her to stay awake, yet she couldn't sleep either, and there was no way she could talk her aunt into ending the party. Lynn was probably drunk off her ass right now, so Y/N knew the only place for her to be alone with her depressing thoughts was the treehouse. She hadn't gone back there since the night she last saw Harry, but she guessed it had become such a big part of her that she couldn't stay away no matter how much she'd tried.
Still in her pajamas, the fifteen-year-old climbed the rope ladder to get to her childhood spot. The floor was still wet from the rain yesterday, so she leaned against the doorway and stood there to ponder on her own. However, it didn't take her more than three minutes to burst into tears.
Y/N hated crying, it was physically and emotionally painful to cry, and when it was over, what was left was just...nothing. Emptiness. Nevertheless, crying was how Y/N understood herself best. When she cried, she knew who she was. And she had always thought, just like a heartbreak, though crying left her feeling empty when it was over, she would still sigh in relief, because, at least, she knew it was the end.
"Y/N!"
When she heard that voice, the girl stepped closer to the edge of the treehouse and looked down at her neighbor's garden, where she found Harry's big sister with one hand behind her back and the other waving in the air. Y/N quickly wiped away the remaining tears on her cheeks, feeling thankful because if Gemma had come earlier, she might have already seen Y/N bawling her eyes out.
"Gemma! When did you get back?"
"Just a couple days ago. I'm home for two weeks to work on my thesis." The other Styles chuckled. "Glad I found you out here, I was just about to come over."
"To see me?" Y/N lifted both eyebrows, pointing to herself and receiving a nod from her neighbor.
"Yeah, come down here. I have something for you."
The teenage girl hesitated a bit because she couldn't figure out why Gemma wanted to see her and had something for her. Even though she used to hang out with Harry, she was never that close to his older sister. But she climbed down anyway, curious to know what Gemma had behind her back.
"Happy birthday," said the 23-year-old as she handed Y/N the birthday gift she'd been hiding that whole time.
A snow globe.
It didn't have a snowman and a Christmas tree like the ones you normally found in souvenir shops. The one Gemma gave her had colorful glitter inside instead of fake snow; and it was a miniature London, with tiny versions of Big Ben, the London Eye, and the Tower Bridge.
But all Y/N could see, was a person.
"You remember my birthday?" The younger girl asked quietly as she received the gift from her lovely neighbor, who was smiling from ear to ear.
"Of course," Gemma said. "I came to your birthday party every year. But I guess you don't like them anymore, huh?"
"Yeah..." Y/N faked a laugh, hoping her awkward eye-roll didn't give away the fact that she was just lonely.
"Well, I'd love to stay and chat but I must get back to work now."
"Sure. Thanks for the nice gift," said Y/N. "Where did you get it by the way?"
"Bought it when I was in London last week."
Y/N didn't say anything else and just watched the older girl walk back to her house. Of course, she wanted to ask Gemma about Harry, but it was so sad to even think about him right now. His sister remembered her birthday and even got her a present, yet she hadn't heard a single word from him since the day he left. He was supposed to be her friend, or was it just another thing she had fooled herself into believing?
Holding the little London between her palms, she thought that maybe it was time to let go of the London inside her heart.
.
.
.
"Don't peek!"
"I'm not peeking!"
Y/N giggled, holding the hand that was covering her eyes as Harry carefully led her up the stairs, giving her directions so she wouldn't trip and cause them both to fall over. She extended her arms once they had reached the top, feeling the cold metal surface in front of them. The creaking sound caused her to flinch, so Harry quickly reassured the girl that it was just him opening the door. She could feel his other hand reaching around her waist to pull the handle, and a cold breeze blew right through her thin shirt. Y/N immediately took a step backward and bumped into Harry's firm chest. She felt the pressure of his fingertips on her hip as he gently pushed her forward, for the third time that night, telling her to trust him.
"If I didn't trust you I wouldn't have walked up all these floors with my eyes closed." She giggled, and his soft laughter sent shivers down her spine.
"Sit," he ordered, holding the girl by the arms to guide her into a chair; and when she was finally seated, Harry leaned in so his lips were close to her ear as he whispered, "open your eyes."
Y/N did what she was told.
Slowly, she opened her eyes.
The girl had begun to envision her surroundings ever since the cool air hit her skin for the first time as she stepped out, yet what she saw was far from her imagination.
They were sitting on a rooftop of a tall building somewhere in London. From her spot, Y/N could see the entire city spread below, tiny vehicles rushing along tangled roads. The city lights looked like stars dropping to the Earth, making her feel as if they were being squeezed between two galaxies. There were no words magical enough to describe what she was seeing, so Y/N didn't say anything, and just took in a deep breath to let it go with the biggest smile on her face.
It was windy on the roof, so Harry took off his coat and wrapped it around her shoulders. They sat side by side on two wooden chairs, staring at the city and the sky above, completely mesmerized by such beauty, which had completely changed Y/N's opinion about London. Maybe from a different and higher view, it wasn't plain and dull after all.
"Almost like Holmes Chapel, huh?" She heard him speak and turned to look at him. Harry was gazing up with a beam on his face as he pointed to the sky, and told her the names of the stars he knew, not aware that she wasn't really listening. She was too busy looking at him, and thinking, maybe somewhere underneath that man was still the little boy she used to know.
"Oh, I forgot!" He suddenly flinched and turned to pick up the box at his feet. "I made this for you. But...the rest of the batch...already ended up in the trash bin."
He opened the box and revealed one single cupcake with a candle on top. It didn't look terrible, still, it wasn't a very pretty cupcake either. But if that was the best out of the whole batch, Y/N couldn't help but snort as she tried to imagine what the other ones looked like.
"Hey, don't laugh at me! At least I tried!"
"Okay, okay." Y/N bit her lip to hold back a smile. She didn't know why it was so endearing that he'd exerted himself to make her one cupcake. Even if he'd got it from a store instead, she would still be overjoyed.
"Can I eat it now?" She asked, but he quickly shook his head no.
"You have to make a wish first."
Y/N giggled, eyes bored into Harry as he looked around to find something else. "Shit!" His jaw went slack. "The lighter! I forgot the lighter."
"Relax, lemme check," Y/N mumbled, reaching inside the inner pocket of his coat to search for the object, and she felt something like a little triangle box, assuming it was the lighter. But when she took it out, both of them froze as they saw what it really was.
A pack of cigarettes.
Y/N's mouth fell open, she was speechless, and so was he. "Harry..." Her voice was quiet when she looked at him. "Do you smoke?"
"No." He shook his head fast. "N-Not anymore."
"Really?"
"Why would I lie?" A blush crept up his face as he made eye-contact with her. "If I still smoked, I would have a lighter with me, right?"
That sounded like a good enough reason for her to believe him. Moreover, he didn't smell like someone who smoked, and she'd never seen him with a cigarette between his fingers before. So apparently he was telling the truth. Y/N inhaled deeply as she nodded, squeezing his hand for more assurance.
"Smoking could kill you. So don't...don't go back to it..." The way she could barely maintain eye contact while saying that to him made his heart flutter somehow. He took her other hand, linking their fingers together as he asked, "are you worried about me?"
"Of course I am," she said without pause. "I can't bear the thought of losing you."
The corners of her mouth turned down and her whole face contorted so he knew she was serious when she said those words. After all this time, he still mattered to her; and knowing that was like getting a heavy weight lifted off his chest.
.
.
.
Harry sank into his chair, holding the mini calendar above his face. "It's already April," he mumbled to himself, but his roommate Isaac assumed Harry was talking to him, so he replied, "yeah, almost time for finals."
It wasn't finals that came to Harry's mind when he thought about April, it was a birthday actually. He rarely remembered birthdays, and sometimes he forgot his own; but for some reasons, he always remembered hers. He hadn't spoken to Y/N since the night he left, and he could never forget the way she looked at him when she asked him to kiss her. It was awkward, yet it was sad. She truly cared about him, and he could never repay the same kind of feelings because she was too young. So he didn't know how to talk to her again after everything she'd confessed. The last thing he wanted was to lead her on and lull her into believing that one day he might feel the same. He knew he could never like her back the way she wanted him to.
However, it would be a lie to say he didn't miss her. He missed her a lot. How could he forget about his little Bambi? She was the only girl he'd spent the best years of his childhood protecting and looking after. She was something more than just the girl next door, and he kept the image on her face on the treehouse that night in his memory as he left Holmes Chapel with no intention of coming back. Every time he thought about her, a part of him wanted to pay her a visit, but he was glad he didn't change his mind. But now her birthday was coming close, and he knew she wanted him to be there with her. He wanted to be there with her. But he couldn't.
"Isaac," Harry broke the silence in the dorm room, turning his head to look at his best friend who was lying on the bed. "What should I give a fifteen-year-old girl for her birthday?"
The sudden question made Isaac lift an eyebrow. "I thought you only had a big sister?"
"Uhm...it's actually for my...my...cousin."
"Well, I'm bad at this stuff. Why don't you ask Niall?"
Harry rolled his eyes and scoffed. "He would just give me crazy ideas."
"Then ask the birthday girl herself." Isaac shrugged, sticking out his bottom lip. "I mean, try to be subtle and find out what she likes without giving away the fact that you don't know what to get her."
If only it was that easy. Harry shook his head and put the calendar back down. He used to be the one who knew about her more than anyone else, probably only second to her mother, he should be able to know what she liked, but right now he didn't. He knew nothing about her anymore. It was only then that he started to feel bad for all the time he didn't spend with her. But had he not kept his distance, their goodbye would've been much harder.
So he tried to think, swirling the pencil in his hand for a couple seconds. And finally, an idea came to his mind. Maybe there could be a way for him to come back to her after all.
.
.
.
For the rest of the night, Harry and Y/N sat in their chairs, eating pizza for dinner while discussing irrelevant topics like the existence of aliens, strange kinds of flowers, as well as their favorite movies, songs, and books. Soon both grew tired so they fell back to silence. He was staring at the city, and she was taking in the sight of him.
"Are you mad that I lied to you?" Her sudden question made him turn around with an eyebrow raised. "You know, about Isaac."
"I'm not mad at you, kid. But I'd like to know what happened..." Harry couldn't say he had heard most of the story from Niall because he wanted Y/N to tell him herself, if she trusted him enough, and of course, he didn't expect her to. But somehow she did. She ended up telling him everything.
"I didn't want Isaac to turn down the job offer for a relationship that would probably never work." She sighed with her chin on her knuckles, hooded eyes staring blankly ahead. "I liked him a lot. And I thought to myself that if he asked me to be his girlfriend, I would say yes immediately. But when it happened, I got scared. I couldn't let him in because I was afraid that if he knew too much about me, he wouldn't like me anymore. I guess I'm just not ready to fall in love again, and I don't want him to wait for me to be ready. My first and only relationship didn't end very well. So I didn't have the heart to let the same thing happen to us." Holding her breath, she said, "He's too good for me anyway. I'm better off alone."
"Nobody is better off alone," Harry spoke at last, a line appeared between his brows. "Everyone needs someone."
"Not me." She shrugged, and the look in her eyes broke his heart in a million pieces. "I'm sorry I had to lie to you...I didn't want you to do anything for my birthday. I've troubled you enough already."
"But you're not troubling me, love. I did all of this because I wanted to. I...I care about you."
She couldn't remember the last time she heard him say those words, or if he'd ever said them at all. So to hear them now made her feel happy and sad at the same time. If there was one thing that she'd learned from their 'relationship' it would be, Harry's words weren't always credible.
"How did you find this place though?" She changed the subject, putting on a smile to lighten up the mood, which had gotten a bit blue since Isaac was mentioned. She could see it from the look on his face that he was also glad she'd brought up something else.
"Niall's uncle owns this building. They're doing some reconstructing so it's closed for a couple months. It might be the only place we could be together without people bothering us."
"Thank you." Y/N took in a long breath as she smiled. "I've never seen London so beautiful."
"Agreed." Harry nodded fast. In this bad lighting, his dimples seemed even deeper than they actually were. "But my favorite is the winter time. The city looks best when it's covered in snow."
Those last words made Y/N's head turn as her eyes went round.
"It was you, wasn't it?" she cried out, causing the man to jump in shock. He was meant to ask, but she didn't even let him have his chance. "The snow globe! You asked Gemma to give it to me, did you?!"
"Ouch!" He yelped when she smacked him hard on the arm. The girl didn't look very sorry when he rubbed the sore spot and his brows drew together in utter perplexity.
"Why did you ask her to lie for you?! I was so sad, I thought you didn't remember my birthday!"
"I thought it was for the best if you forgot about me, after..."
There was a pause, a gap for her to fill in.
"Our first kiss...I know," she mumbled at last.
It was weird to talk about it now, since both of them had been pretending like the kiss she'd stolen from him when she was fourteen had never happened. After all, she was fourteen at the time, he couldn't blame her for acting so impulsive. But recently he'd been thinking about it and wondering if her feelings back then had been all true.
Her eyes darted as she whispered under her breath, but still loud enough for him to hear, "why didn't you send me anything on my birthday next year or the ones after that?"
"I...I wanted to...I almost did." He swallowed hard while fidgeting in his seat. "But Gemma said you were seeing this boy, so I thought I should stay away from your life and let you forget about me for good. Then time passed and I actually didn't think a lot about you, until..."
She nodded without waiting for him to finish, her lashes fluttered as sadness overtook her face. After a moment of thinking, she asked, "if you could turn back time, would you come back to see me?"
"Yes," he answered. "Without a second thought."
Y/N had seen Harry in a lot of different situations, yet she'd never seen him like that, all flustered and ill at ease. She loved the way the rings on his fingers sparkled as he was nervously toying with the hem of his shirt. She loved it when even under the dim lights surrounding them, she could see a blush creep up his face. She knew better, that it was never good when she felt so drawn to him, yet she couldn't stop, so she released a slight laugh, which got his attention.
"Why are you laughing?" He asked.
Shaking her head with the grin still remained, she said, "nothing."
.
.
.
As he walked with her five floors up to her flat, Harry struggled to find something to say so the silence carried on until they reached her front door. He couldn't explain why he was at a loss for words every time he stood in front of her. He knew her well, he'd grown up with this girl. But deep down inside he knew it wasn't like that, not anymore. He knew his heart had more to say about her than it should, and the way it began to race whenever she was around had him frustrated most of the times.
He watched her unlock her front door and turn to say goodbye. But just when she was about to leave, he stopped her by taking her hand. It wasn't the first time they'd held hands, still, he let hers go after about two seconds like it was hot coal burning his skin. Maybe it was, maybe she was, yet he couldn't stay away because he enjoyed the burn. With round Bambi eyes, she stared at him, slightly puzzled by his strange behaviors. Harry asked her to wait. He searched in his pants pocket, finally pulling out a silver locket necklace.
"Your birthday present."
"Harry—"
He shushed her right away, telling her to turn around as he took a step closer to put the chain around her neck. His fingers brushed against her collarbone only once, but it was enough for both of them to flinch at the contact. Y/N gently touched the heart-shaped locket now lying on her chest, then opened it to find a tiny photo of her mother.
"So you could always keep her by your heart," he whispered, his voice was low and hot against her ear.
Slowly, Y/N turned around, but Harry didn't pull away so they were just one step away from pressing against each other. She meant to just thank him and go inside her flat, but as she parted her lip, not a single sound managed to escape. Her cheeks turned pink, her bottom lip was quivering as she batted her lashes. She had never looked into his eyes for that long, and the look he was giving her made her pupils dilated. It was the same look she'd seen him give that blonde haired girl on the treehouse when he was seventeen. He had never looked at Y/N that way before, and now he did. If only she could read his mind, she would know he was also trying to do the same.
Harry knew it was wrong, but he couldn't resist. The last time he had the same feeling, he wasn't thinking straight so he went for it by instinct. Now he knew exactly what was happening, and still, he didn't stop it. He leaned in a little closer, their foreheads touching. He expected her to pull away or even slap him for making that bold move, yet she stayed exactly where she was, chest heaving with anticipation. Her scent was flooding his senses, and the second he finally found the courage to place his hands on her hips, it was she who decided the next move.
Her lips brushed against his. Not innocently, but hot and passionately, he wanted to pull away before he lost control, but like a magnet, she drew him in more and now he was stuck. "Harry," she whispered slowly, making his heart flutter as he clasped his hands on either side of her face.
That kiss wasn't like the first or the second, this time it was an open-mouthed, almost sexual kiss. He pushed her against the door, loving the way her body melted into his as their lips fitted perfectly like they were made for each other. She held his hair and he held her so tight as if he was afraid it wasn't real, and she would disappear the moment he loosened his grip. They broke away after what seemed like ages, and from the look in her eyes, he could tell she expected him to run, just like he had before.
But he didn't. Even if he wanted to, he knew his trembling feet wouldn't let him. She stood with her back against the door, him with one hand on her hip, the other fisted to rest beside her head. He inhaled sharply and she was still trying to steady her breathing. It took almost five seconds for either to open their eyes and look at the other person.
"Goodnight," she mumbled, reaching behind for the doorknob and the next thing he knew, she had fled inside and shut the door right in front of his face. Harry was left standing in the hallway like an idiot, not knowing what to do next. He lifted a fist, about to knock because there were still many things that he wanted to say to her, an apology was one of which. But he thought again and decided that he should probably go.
Harry left the building, stepping out on the street with his head still on the cloud as he kept touching his lips, trying not to smile so big or else people would think he was insane. But maybe he was, because he was too happy to act differently. He got into his car and sat there with both hands on the steering wheel, head tossed back, smiling contently. His whole face was red, but he didn't really mind. He was soaked in the scent of her perfume, and all he could think about was how he could possibly fall asleep with every trace of her lingering on his body.
His phone lit up in the dark, notifying a new text from Bambi which got him to sit up straight at once. His heart could've exploded when he read the first line, if the next one hadn't come on in less than a second.
⌲ Bambi: That kiss was a mistake.
⌲ Bambi: You're gonna have to earn it next time.
⌲ Next time? :)
⌲ Bambi: Don't be smug about it!
⌲ I'm not! But wait, on the scale from 1-10, how great was tonight? (minus the kiss)
⌲ Bambi: 7/10 (including the kiss)
⌲ Heeeeeey!
Sitting at her working desk, chin resting on her palm, Y/N cracked a smile. The birthday surprise, as well as the kiss they'd shared in the hallway,  were definitely 11/10. But she couldn't give it to him that easily. She placed her phone down, leaving his latest message on read as she touched the chain around her neck once again.
The London snow globe was still sitting on her desk, and she hadn't touched it in so long that it was a bit dusty now. She kept it there so it could remind her of the terrible birthday she should already forget, but she didn't want to. It was a way of telling herself that sometimes the people you loved would leave you behind, and that was just a cruel fact of life that one should just accept and carry on. But now that she knew it wasn't all true, the way she felt about the snow globe had also changed.
Quickly, she typed down 'Thank you for the locket' and sent it to him, then while waiting for him to reply, she sent another text right after.
⌲ I have two tickets to see Heathers The Musical
⌲ H: Yes.
⌲ I haven't even asked?
⌲ H: Whatever you're gonna ask, it's a yes.
⌲ Have you even watched Heathers?
⌲ H: There's always Google! Send me the date and time, my assistant will get back to you shortly.
⌲ Haha funny.
Y/N rolled her eyes and giggled as she snapped a quick shot of the tickets Alice had given her and sent it to him.
⌲ H: Wednesday night! I'm free!
⌲ You sure there's not another award show that night? I'm gonna kill you if you skip another one for me.
⌲ H: Nah I'm not supposed to attend any event next week. If you don't believe me, google it!
⌲ Oh God.
⌲ H: Say that instead of my name 'next time'.
Y/N's face turned scarlet when she read that line. She sucked in her bottom lip, face-palming herself with her eyes shut and wishing she hadn't moaned his name into the kiss. That couldn't have been more embarrassing. She typed down a few words, trying to come up with a reply that would save herself from the humiliation, yet she kept typing and deleting for three times or so. Then came two new messages from him.
⌲ H: It's late. Go to sleep Bambi. Good night.
⌲ H: Once again, happy birthday! :)
The twenty-year-old smiled to herself as she sent him back a goodnight text. Y/N knew she should get to bed now if she wanted to wake up early for a class in the morning. But she also knew it would take forever for her to fall asleep. This time, fortunately, it wasn't gonna be the birthday blues that kept her up all night.

This is a big night for BOTH COUPLES, so Lucy & Foggy shippers, this should make y’all happy ;) Thank you so much for your patience, now on with the chapter!!!
Chapter 10: Falling So Fast
The end of the day could not come soon enough.
I spent the entire morning and afternoon in impatient excitement for my date with Matt. I couldn’t stop thinking about him.
His beautiful smile that seemed to light up the entire room and make the world feel brighter.
His kind, gentle soul that makes me feel safe whenever I’m around him.
His sweet, seductive lips that send delicious electric shocks through my body every time he kisses me. Lips that I’m dying to taste again.
His deep, soothing voice that was smooth as silk and always makes the neglected parts of my body tingle with excitement. Especially when it deepened into that frustrated growl.
A growl that sounded so familiar…
My mind drifted to the night the masked stranger saved my life.
But that’s not possible. Matt’s blind. He can’t do all that crazy ninja stuff…..can he?
“Iris, can you do me a favor and check on the cookie cups for me, please?” Lucy’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
It took me a second to remember where I was currently at. The bakery. Where I was supposed to be working, wiping down the tables at the present moment. Yet I’ve been stuck in my head daydreaming. Pull yourself together, girl.
“I’m on it.” I replied as I made my way towards the kitchen to the oven, feeling embarrassed for zoning out. “Sorry, Luce. I don’t know what’s gotten into me.”
“Oh I know what’s gotten into you, ginger snap.” Lucy replied as she finished ringing up a customer. I didn’t have to look at her to know she had a knowing smirk on her face.
“Sorry, I can’t hear you! I’m pulling the cookie cups out of the oven!” I yelled exaggeratedly as I opened the oven.
I had just barely set down the hot muffin pan of the delicious smelling cookie cups when Lucy popped her head in the doorway.
“Ready for your date tonight, hot stuff?” She asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows.
I let out an excited giggle, “I am now. Thank you so much again for helping me out with the shopping. I promise I’ll pay you back.”
Lucy waved me off. “Don’t even worry about it, hun. Think of it as a housewarming gift. Your kitchen was sorely lacking, I nearly cried.  That reminds me, we’ll have to set up a day to go shopping for your apartment. We need to liven it up. Like, a lot!”
I nearly dropped the bowl of marshmallow cream I had pulled out of the fridge. “Lucy, that’s too much! I don’t wanna spend more money than I already have. And I don’t feel right having you spend your hard earned money on me.”
“Sweetie, don’t worry about it!” She replied with a comforting smile and hug. “I’m offering to do this because I want to. I love to help my friends in any way I can, and you’ve been through so much. I want to help make your new life a happy one.”
Speechless and on the brink of tears, I threw myself at Lucy, hugging her fiercely. “How did I get so lucky to have you as my best friend?”
“It was destiny.” She replied, hugging me just as tightly. “Maybe I’m a witch and I magically brought you to the bakery.”
We burst out into giggles, lightening the mood. “That would make sense,” I replied, wiping my tears. “You’re extremely resourceful and have a million skills under your belt. It must be witchcraft.”
Lucy snorted. “You got me. I made a deal with the Devil for all my powers.” She winked.
I nudged her with a chuckle. “Seriously though, is there anything you can’t do?”
Lucy stopped to think for a moment before replying, “Play an instrument.”
“Well I think I can help you with that. You’ll have to join me next time I see my band of gypsies soon.” I replied as I thought fondly about my new friends.
Lucy gave a glowing smile in response. “It’s a date! And speaking of dates…” Lucy trailed off as she checked the front for customers, seeing none. “It’s 4:30 now. What do you say we speed through icing these cookie cups, pop them in the walk-in, and close up for the day? I don’t know about you, but I need plenty of time to get ready for my date with Foggy.” She winked as she walked over to flip the sign from OPEN to CLOSED.
“You and Foggy have a date tonight?” I asked with interest.
Lucy nodded excitedly. “Yep! He stopped by for a hot second earlier to officially ask me out. We’re going dancing!”
My excitement for my friend was slightly summed by disappointment at missing a certain lawyer’s visit.
“Foggy was here? I didn’t see him or…” I trailed off, feeling discouraged.
“Oh don’t worry, sweetie. Matt wasn’t here. Foggy left him with a client in the office so he can see me. It was really quick and you were busy back here with the eclairs.” Lucy assured me, causing me to breathe a sigh of relief. “Now let’s finish up those cookie cups. Our gentlemen await us!”
----------------------
Later that evening….
I was buzzing with excitement as I finished getting ready, applying some light red lip gloss on my lips. The soulful voice of Doris Troy filling the air.
Just one look and I fell so hard
In love with you uh oh uh oh
I found out how good it feels
To have your love uh oh uh oh
I run a brush through my straightened hair as I looked over my outfit in the mirror: a black short sleeved top with a knee length red lace A line skirt and black ballet flats.
Lace, huh? Nice material for a certain gorgeous lawyer to feel. I’m so proud!
I let out a giggle as I twirled in a circle, causing the skirt to twirl along with me. I started to sing along to the song when a knock on the door stopped me in my tracks.
He’s here!
My heart started beating rapidly with excitement as I stopped the music and forced myself to walk calmly to the door. I paused to smooth out my hair and my skirt before answering the door, revealing Matt looking gorgeous as ever, his beautiful  brown eyes free from his red glasses, and wearing that sinful black suit and that beautiful smile I love so much.
“Hi, Matt.” I greeted breathily in almost a dreamy sigh.
Matt’s smile grew as if he knew the effect he had on me. He probably did.
“Hi, Iris. Looking beautiful as ever.” He replied as he leaned in to kiss my cheek. At least he would have, if I hadn’t quickly turned my head so he could catch my lips instead.
I could feel his smile against my lips as he pulled me closer. I broke our kiss and replied, “I still don’t know how you can tell I look beautiful, but if it means doing that every time you say it, then I’ll take it.”
He let out a breathy chuckle. “You’re always beautiful, that’s how.”
I blushed a bright red as I replied, “You’re incorrigible.”
“And you’re irresistible.” He smirked as we repeated our words from this morning.
“And you’re still standing out in the hallway.” I giggled. “Please come in, make yourself at home.”
Matt’s smirk grew. “Why thank you, don’t mind if I do. But first…” he trailed off before moving his left hand, which I just noticed was hiding behind his back. “I know you said I didn’t need to bring anything, but I wanted to start our official date off right.”
He held his hand out in front of me, revealing a beautiful and brightly colored bouquet. My fingers caressed his hand as I gently grabbed the vibrant flowers.
Tumblr media
“Oh my god, Matt, they’re so beautiful! Thank you!” I exclaimed as I inspected the flowers. My heart stopped as I recognized what kind they were. “Are these daisies?”
Matt’s eyes lit up to a honey brown, his cheeks turned into a rosy pink as he gave a sweet smile. “Yeah, I remember you said they were your favorite flower.”
My eyes started to tear up. I reached up to kiss him properly. “I love them. Thank you so much, Matt.  You’re so thoughtful, how did I get so lucky?”
Matt gently rubbed his nose against mine affectionately. “You were overdue for some luck to finally come your way.”
I let out a soft giggle in response. “That makes sense. Well, Mr. Murdock, shall we make our way to the kitchen and get this date started?”
“We shall, Ms. Roberts.” He replied, referring to me by my fake name since he was still in the hallway.
“Lead the way.” He finished with a light grasp on my hand, sending delightful tingles up my spine.
This was going to be a fun night.
----------------
Foggy
Tumblr media
Foggy was practically bouncing on his feet from nerves and excitement as he walked up the steps to Lucy’s apartment building. His palms were sweaty as he raised his hand to push the doorbell next to Lucy’s name.
“Hello?” Lucy’s sultry voice called out through the intercom.
Foggy cleared his throat, “Hi, Lucy. It’s Foggy-”
He was quickly cut off by the buzzing of the door and Lucy replying with a smile in her voice.
 “Come on in!”
With a smile and a racing heartbeat, Foggy quickly opened the door to enter the apartment complex. He nervously ran his fingers through his freshly cut hair, smoothing it back to look a little more tamed. He was about to head towards the stairs when he was stopped by the most beautiful vision he’d ever seen.
Tumblr media
As if time had slowed down, there was Lucy, walking down the stairs wearing a seductive red dress made of silk that was clinging to those sinful curves. Her long dark wavy hair bounced with each step, the light shining off it like a halo around her head. Her red painted lips rose into a sweet flirty smile as she looked at him.
Foggy had to resist the urge to pinch himself. How the hell did I get so lucky to be around this elegant goddess? If this is a dream, I never wanna wake up.
Foggy had just remembered how to breathe again once Lucy reached the bottom of the stairs.
“Hello, Foggy. You’re looking handsome as ever.” Lucy greeted, her sultry voice sending shivers down his spine.
Foggy’s mouth dried up, he couldn’t form any words as the brunette siren reached up and ran her dainty fingers through his now short hair.  “I love the new hair.”
“I got it cut.” Foggy managed to say, cringing at how stupid he must have sounded.
Lucy giggled, “It suits you. You look very dashing.”
“So do you- I mean you look stunning!” Foggy stammered, his face flushing.
Remembering the flowers he was holding behind his back, he handed them to the raven haired beauty. “These are for you. I remember you said they were your favorite.”
Lucy’s heart fluttered as she gazed at the bouquet of deep red dahlias and roses.
Tumblr media
“Oh my god, they’re so beautiful! Thank you, Foggy!” She caught Foggy by surprise as she planted a sweet kiss on his lips.
Foggy could’ve sworn his heart had stopped beating the moment he got a brief taste of those seductive lips of hers.
Before he could get carried away with his thoughts, Lucy grabbed his hand and led him up the stairs. “Let me just put these in some water and then we can go, okay?”
“Yeah, sure, no problem.” Foggy managed to reply. Real eloquent, Nelson.
Lucy was in and out of her apartment in no time, her smile as bright as ever. “Okay, I’m all set!”
Foggy cleared his throat as he held out his arm for Lucy.
“Ready for a night of dancing, Ms. Addams?” Foggy asked, trying to be as suave as possible.
Lucy let out a breathy giggle as she grasped his offered arm. “Lead the way, Mr. Nelson.”
-------------------
Iris
“So what’s on the menu for tonight?” Matt asked as he set aside his jacket and started rolling up his sleeves.
I turned my gaze away from those enticing hands of his to start pulling out the ingredients from the fridge. Don’t get all hot and bothered so soon or this night is gonna be torture!
“Matt, you are in for a treat tonight!” I replied with excitement. “We’re gonna have tiramisu cupcakes, cannolis, and limoncello gelato. I made the gelato earlier since it needed a few hours to chill in the freezer, so we’ll have that one last.”
“Sounds amazing, Iris.” Matt smiled. “A three course Italian dessert is an interesting choice.” He said with a knowing smirk.
“I thought it would be fitting since our first date was Italian food. And...that was honestly one of the best nights I have ever had. I guess I wanted to relive that. I guess that’s kinda silly.” I avoided looking at him as I replied with a burning blush.
I felt Matt’s hand caress my back. “No it’s not. I love it.” He replied fondly. “That was a wonderful night for me too, one I can’t stop thinking about. So maybe this can become a tradition for us, if you’d like.”
I looked up at him, and I swear I could feel my heart bursting at the seams with affection for this amazing man. His kind words, and his sweet face has me falling so fast beyond my control.
“I’d love that.” I simply replied. I cleared my throat to shake myself out of my bubble. “Now how about we get started? Which would you like to start on first?”
Matt took a moment to think before he replied. “Let’s do the cupcakes first, and then we can work on the cannolis while they’re in the oven.”
“You read my mind.” I nudged him with a wink. “Ooh I got some wine, by the way! Let’s crack that open, put on some more music, and get our baking on.”
“Great idea. Just don’t get me too drunk and try to take advantage of me, Ms. Williams.” Matt smirked as he called me by my real name.
“Oh damn, you caught me. Just don’t try to sue me, Mr. Murdock.” I replied as I handed him a glass of Stella Rosa Black.
“I make no promises.” Matt smirked once more as our glasses clinked before taking a sip. “You might have to persuade me with these enticing desserts you have planned.”
I took a huge gulp of wine to swallow down the lump that formed in my throat from the way his sensual voice affected me. “Then let’s get started, shall we?”

Foggy
Swing 46 turned out to be a great choice of venue for Foggy and Lucy’s date. The Jazz club had dim lighting reflecting on the red walls for an intimate atmosphere, the tables each had a lit candle to add romance to the aesthetic. The band on stage filling the air with big band jazz that had several couples on the dance floor. Foggy, however, could not take his eyes off Lucy. Her radiance glowed brighter than the lights themselves, her smile growing as she watched the couples dancing energetically.
She turned to Foggy, reaching for his hand. “This place is wonderful, Foggy! How did you find it?”
Foggy smiled, “I looked online for places to go swing dancing and this place was at the top of the list. I figured you weren’t into those techno rave kind of places.”
Lucy laughed, “And you’d be right! I hate that music. And their idea of dancing is too raunchy for my taste. This is more my speed.”
Foggy smiled in relief, wanting to pat himself on the back for doing good so far. He didn’t want to do anything to screw this up.
The waiter came back to their table with the red wine they ordered. The couple placed their orders for their dinner, and the waiter had left them alone once more.
Foggy held up his glass to her in a toast, “Here’s to what I hope will be an amazing night with the most beautiful woman in the world.”
Lucy’s cheeks flushed a rosy pink as she held up her own glass to Foggy’s, “And here's what I know will be an amazing night with the handsomest, sweetest, most adorable man in the world.”
Their adoring smiles shined brighter than the candles as their glasses clinked before taking the first sip.
“So I gotta ask,” Lucy started, “What’s it like being a hotshot defense attorney?”
Foggy chuckled. “Not as glamorous as you think. Sometimes our cases are successful, sometimes they’re not. Some clients are actually innocent, some not so much. Sometimes we’re struggling with keeping our little “law firm that could” afloat. It has its ups and downs, that’s for sure.”
“But you love it.” Lucy replied knowingly.
With a smiling shrug, Foggy replied, “I do. Times have been rough for Matt and I, but we both love what we do. Helping those that really need it, is pretty rewarding. We were offered jobs at this hotshot law firm Landman and Zack when we finished our internship. It would’ve meant great pay no doubt. But…”
“They’re soulless assholes?” Lucy interjected.
“Yeah!” Foggy chuckled. “How did you guess?”
“My sister Gwen dated one of their attorneys.” Lucy replied. “She visited him there and got to see what heartless douchebags they were. Safe to say, she’s not seeing him anymore.”
“Wow, she dodged a bullet there.” Foggy commented.
“Sure did! That guy was a prick.” Lucy agreed. “Well if you guys are ever in a bind money wise, I’d be happy to help. Like a silent partner or investor, or maybe I can have you guys on retainer! Being a business owner, it’s good to have legal help.”
Where did this goddess come from? Foggy was in awe of this woman offering to help when that was the last thing he would ever ask of her.
“Lucy,” Foggy started as he held her hand. “I’m not asking you for money. I could never ask that of you. Matt and I will be fine, you don’t need to trouble yourself over it. And you certainly don’t need to lose your hard earned money over us.”
Lucy relented, “Okay, I’ll drop it for now. But I’ll have you know, losing money isn’t really something I have to worry about.”
“Well you’re an amazing baker, so that doesn’t really surprise me.” Foggy replied with praise.
“Well baking isn’t the only thing I specialize in.” Lucy stated as she took a sip of her wine.  “I actually first got into carpentry with my dad as a kid. That came in handy when I was old enough to start working. Made pretty good money building furniture, doing home repairs, reupholster furniture, stuff like that. Then my mom got Gwen and I interested in dress making; made really good money making gowns for prom, doing alterations, and that kind of stuff. Ooh! Gwen actually owns the cutest pinup boutique in the upper east side, I’ll have to take you over there to meet her sometime soon! She’s a total doll, you’ll love her.  So yeah...financially, I guess I’m pretty comfortable.”
Foggy sat completely awestruck, his jaw dropped practically to the floor.
Who IS this woman?! She’s incredible! She’s not only gorgeous, she’s independent, brilliant, talented, thoughtful and so sweet. What is this goddess doing with a guy like me? She could have any guy she wants, and yet she’s here with me. Don’t fuck this up, Nelson. You’ll never find an amazing woman like this one again.
Foggy’s thoughts spoke so loud in his head, but he snapped out of his stunned silence.
“You’re the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.” He declared with genuine admiration, causing Lucy’s cheeks to redden.
“Thank you!” She delightfully replied. “Most guys are usually intimidated by me. My last boyfriend certainly was.” She rolled her eyes.
Foggy’s eyes met hers as he leaned in closer. “Those guys were idiots who didn’t appreciate you for the amazing, kickass woman you are. They clearly didn’t deserve you, so it’s their loss, and hopefully my gain.”
Lucy’s radiant smile was bright enough to light up Vegas. She couldn’t help but fall even harder for the handsome blonde teddy bear. His intelligent mind, his kindness, his humor, and his genuine expression of his feelings even when he’s awkward are so incredibly endearing. She wanted him so bad, and she’s positive that the feeling was mutual.
The mood was heightened as the band started the beginning chords of “Sway”.
When marimba rhythms start to play
Dance with me, make me sway
Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore
Hold me close, sway me more
Foggy straightened his tie as he rose out of his chair, holding his hand out to Lucy.  “May I have this dance?”
Lucy’s heart started racing as she eagerly grabbed his hand. “Oh god yes.”
They made their way to the dance floor, the sensual song drawing more couples to dance along. Yet as Foggy held Lucy so intimately close to himself, they swayed together and it felt as if they were the only people in the room. For all they saw was each other.

Iris
“So this is basically a line dance?” Matt asked, holding me close with my back to his chest as we were slowly going over the steps of the rockabilly stroll together.
“Yep.” I replied, trying to sound casual while my heart is beating like a racing jackrabbit from being in such an intimate position. “You can do this to a slow or fast song. And you’re basically going in a circle. Lucy and I were drunk off our asses when she was teaching me, I’m honestly amazed I remembered it.” I finished with a chuckle, causing Matt to laugh along with me.
“I wish I could’ve been there for that.” He commented with a cheeky smile.
“Oh god no!” I exclaimed, my face turning bright red as I remembered all the things I said that night. “I’m a very silly drunk and I’d be too embarrassed for you to witness that.” That’s putting it mildly.
Matt chuckled in response. “I’m sure you’re an adorable drunk, but I’ll drop it for now.” Thank god. “How much longer till the cupcakes cool?”
It took me a second to remember our desserts. The cannolis were done, the fillings and cupcake frosting were already done, we just needed the cupcakes to cool before icing them.
“I think they can stand another 10 minutes or so to cool.” I replied, not wanting to leave his arms.
“Perfect.” He smiled. “Let’s put on a good song and take this dance on a test run.”
With a gentle squeeze on his hand, I stepped away to the stereo to look through my new CDs. I put in the newest Tiger Army CD and skipped to my new favorite song “Valentina”.
The sweet opening riffs filled the air as Matt held his hand out to me with that beautiful smile of his; not hesitating to twirl me into his arms, causing me to giggle as we fell into the dance steps, swaying together.
Valentina, you are the one for me
Valentina, you are the one who carries my heart
Oh yeah
Valentina,  how I have waited for you
Valentina, driving me crazy my love
Come back again
We met baby on a hot summer night
Now it's the autumn and I can't get it right without you
I want to be your man
A golden desert with an ultraviolet sky
Up and down the city streets and all throughout the night
For you and I the time is at hand
“I like this song.” Matt said. “Who is this?”
“Tiger Army. I met a group of musicians the other day, and one of them is really into rockabilly and psychobilly, so she recommended them to me. They’ve pretty much become my new favorite band.” I replied as we continued dancing our stroll.
“I can see why. They’re great.” Matt replied. “I’d love to meet your friends some time, if that’s okay with you of course. They sound pretty cool.”
The thought of Matt wanting to meet my friends made me so giddy with joy. After spending so long in isolation because Paul wanted all my attention on him, it fills my heart with joy and excitement that Matt is the complete opposite of that. I wonder if I’ll ever get used to it.
“I’d love for you to meet them.” I replied with a smile. “You’ll have to join me next time I meet up to jam with them. They’re a colorful band of Gypsies, that’s for sure.  I hope you like them.”
Matt nuzzled against my cheek as he sweetly replied, “If they make you happy just by talking about them, then I already like them. The thought of you happy makes me happy.”
I couldn’t stop smiling as I leaned closer against him as we slowed our dancing to a gentle sway.
Forever angel there's no limit on my love That's what happens when someone is sent from up above
And I'm falling, so fast
Valentina, you are the one for me
Valentina, you are the one who carries my heart
Oh yeah
Valentina,  how I have waited for you
Valentina, driving me crazy my love
Come back again
There was a peaceful moment of silence before the next song started. I turned in Matt’s embrace so that we were facing each other, still swaying together.
“You’re a good dancer.” I commented, running my fingers through his soft brown hair. His eyes closed as he leaned into my touch.
“I have a good teacher, who’s as talented as she is beautiful.” He smiled flirtatiously, caressing my hand.
I couldn’t control the blush heating up my face once more. “You’re incorrigible.”
Matt smirked at the familiar words. “And you’re irresistible.”
“And…” I started before the loud growl of my empty stomach made itself known. “I’m hungry.”
Matt let out a laugh, “I think it’s time for our dessert.”
After we iced the cupcakes, Matt gathered them along with the cannolis onto a large plate while I pulled the gelato out of the freezer and grabbed some spoons before leading him to the couch.
“Okay, so what shall we try first?” I asked him.
Matt contemplated before replying, “I’m curious about that limoncello gelato…”
“Sounds good!” I said as I reached for the spoons and scooped out two large spoonfuls of the gelato before handing one to Matt. “Bon appetité.”
I lightly clinked my spoon against his before eating the cold, smooth, creamy, lemony, delicious gelato. It came out better than I thought it would!
Matt apparently shared the sentiment as he let out a deep groan. “Oh my god, Iris, this is amazing!”
“Really? You really like it?” I asked, beaming with pride.
“I love it!” He exclaimed, reaching for the gelato to get more. “You did an amazing job, sweetheart. You should sell this at the bakery.”
My heart skipped a beat at him calling me “sweetheart”.  I don’t know if he meant to say it, or if it was a slip of the tongue, but I wanted him to keep calling me that. Paul always called me “Princess”, which I really came to hate. It made me feel like a doll, like he owned me. But Matt calling me something so sweet and simple as “Sweetheart”, made me feel warm and cherished. Funny how something so simple and common as that term of endearment can affect me so much.
“You’re too kind,” I blushed in reply. “I probably could sell this, but I kinda like the idea of this just being for us.” I shyly looked away, helping myself to some more gelato.
Matt reached over to gently tilt my chin up. “I kinda like that too.”
We smiled in our moment of silence. I cleared my throat, “What shall we try next?”
“I’ll let you pick.” He replied as he set aside the gelato container.
I looked over our plate, and I reached for a cannoli. I held it up to his sweet, tempting lips. “Open up.”
With a teasing smirk, Matt opened his mouth and bit into the cannoli. The moans he let out were damn near sinful.
“That’s delicious.” He groaned, eating the rest of the treat. “You have a real talent, Iris.”
“I can’t take all the credit, Matt.” I replied, helping myself to a cannoli. It really was delicious. “You did an excellent job with the mascarpone filling.”
Matt smiled and shook his head in protest. “I only did the mixing for your recipe, Ms. Williams.”
“I object, Mr. Murdock. Maybe you have the magic touch and it made the mixture even better.” I argued in jest.
“I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree, huh, counselor?” Matt teased with that sexy smirk.
“I guess so, fellow counselor.” I replied, giggling over our lawyer banter.
Matt reached for one of the cupcakes and held it up to the general direction of my lips.  “Now I believe we have one dessert left, and I think it’s only right for you to have the first bite this time.”
I placed my hand on his wrist, my fingertips lightly caressing his pulse as I leaned forward to bite into the cupcake.  This time I was the one moaning as the flavors of coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and mascarpone exploded in my mouth.  I could feel Matt’s pulse racing in reaction to the noises I made.  It was good to see I wasn’t the only one getting a little excited.
I gently took the cupcake out of his hand and held it up to his lips, not realizing that we scooted even closer to each other to the point that I was practically on his lap.  The tension that had been building throughout the night was becoming too much to bear.
“Want a taste?” I asked, reduced to a whisper.
Matt’s eyes were dark and dilated, his breathing heavy against my fingers.  He opened his mouth to take a small bite of the cupcake, his teeth lightly grazed my fingers, making shivers run down my spine.  He slid his arm around me to pull me closer; I was fully straddled on his lap now, and I still couldn’t get close enough.
“Perfect.” He whispered back, his voice deliciously deeper.
A part of my mind kept nagging about how familiar he sounded.  But all I cared about at that moment was tasting those perfect lips again.  Lips that were now slightly covered in mascarpone frosting.
“You have some frosting on your lip.” I breathily pointed out, my body heating up with arousal.
Matt set down the half eaten cupcake, pulling me closer. I became fully aware of the hardness that formed in his lap.
“Where?” He asked, almost sounding coy if it weren’t for that deep and sexy voice of his.
I leaned my forehead against his, our heavy breaths intermingling. I raised my trembling finger to his lips, wiping off the smidge of frosting. His lips caught my finger, sucking the tip into his mouth, his tongue licking off the frosting. The heat throbbing between my legs became unbearable.
“There.” I replied, remembering how to speak.
That was the trigger word to snap the tension in two. Matt didn’t spare another second before he finally pulled me to his lips into the most intense kiss I’ve ever had.
He wrapped his arms around me in a vice-like grip, I had one hand grasping his broad shoulder, and the other in his hair to push his mouth closer to mine.
His tongue dominantly gained entrance past my lips, electricity ran through my body as his sinful tongue eagerly caressed mine. He let out a deep groan that vibrated through me.
I wrapped my legs tighter around his waist as I started to grind my arousal into his, causing him to let out an animalistic growl that made me dampen even more. His hands slid down to get a firm grip on my ass, grinding my hips even harder against his.
I pulled away from his swollen lips to take a breath, letting out a loud, desperate moan. Matt’s grip tightened at the sound, his lips kissing and sucking at my neck as he grinded even harder against me.
I moaned even louder, my body felt so aroused and alive for the first time in my life. I didn’t want it to end!
“I want you.” I whispered into his ear, my voice shaky from desire. “I want you so bad.”
I lightly bit his earlobe, causing him let out a deep groan. He lowered me to the couch, I was now on my back with Matt right on top of me.
He pulled back to meet my eyes. His brown eyes dark with lust, it was easy to forget that he couldn’t see.
“Is this okay?” He asked sweetly, gently caressing my cheek.
My heart melted at how even in an intense state of arousal, Matt was willing to stop to make sure I wanted this. I didn’t think I could possibly desire him even more than I already did, but he managed to prove me wrong. This is the first time I’ve ever had control in a situation like this, and I’ll be damned if we stopped now.
“Yes.” I replied before running my fingers through his hair, yanking him back to my lips once more.

Foggy
The date went better than Foggy could’ve ever hoped for.  He and Lucy danced the night away, stopped to eat their dinner, talked and laughed, and danced some more. A couple guys had asked Lucy for a dance, and she turned them down flat, only having eyes for Foggy.
Foggy had gotten tossed aside by girls in similar situations in the past, but Lucy proved once again that she was a whole other league from those girls. Being with her made him feel like a king, and he took pleasure in treating her like a Goddess.
The night was sadly coming to an end as Foggy walked Lucy to her apartment building. Like a gentleman, he opened the door for her and walked her to the stairs.
“I had a wonderful time, Foggy.” Lucy turned to him with a smile. “This has been the best date I’ve ever had in a long time.”
Foggy beamed with pure joy. “Thanks, Lucy. I had a wonderful time too.”
Lucy grinned as they began their ascent up the stairs, however, it was slowed to a stop by Foggy who was now three steps behind her.
“Everything okay?” Lucy asked out of concern.
Foggy cleared his throat to ease his sudden nerves before he spoke.
“Lucy, I’m about to make a fool of myself with what I’m about to say, but I gotta say it.” He started, gazing into her beautiful grey eyes. “I don’t have the best history with women. Some don’t find me attractive, sometimes I tend to come on a little strong, I do stupid things to get close to them. In college, I took a language class for Punjabi just to try to date a girl who was taking it for God sakes. It didn’t work out and I just wasted my time learning Punjabi when I should’ve taken Spanish instead!” He let out an embarrassed laugh. “The point is, I’ve been turned down a lot, and the few relationships I’ve had were disasters. But none of those women have ever truly made me feel the way I feel when I’m with you.” Lucy smiled, Foggy continued. “You’re the most beautiful and exciting woman I’ve ever met in my whole life!  You’re so sweet, funny, smart, you have all these amazing skills that I wish I knew how to do. You’re incredible. You’re a goddess! I love your quirks, I love your style...I love you.” Lucy let out a gasp. “I know it’s so soon, and I know we haven’t known each other for very long, but I can’t help it. I know what I feel for you is real, and I can’t waste another minute hesitating or thinking about ‘What if?’.  You make me enjoy my life, you make me want to be a better man. You are the woman of my dreams, Lucy Addams. You are my Morticia. And I wish so badly to be your Gomez. But if you don’t feel the same way, just tell me and I’ll underst-”
Foggy was cut off by Lucy’s lips claiming his in a passionate kiss. His heart was bursting as he held her closer, deepening their kiss. She tasted of wine and sweet vanilla, and he was addicted. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would ever get to have an amazing woman like Lucy in his arms. If this was a dream, he sure as hell didn’t wanna wake up.
The kiss ended too soon for his liking, but Lucy’s lips hovered over his as she passionately whispered, “I love you too.”
Foggy’s heart stopped. He couldn’t believe this was happening. He was finally going to be loved back.
Lucy ran her fingers through his short blonde hair. Her other hand grabbed his tie as she asked seductively, “Would you like to stay the night ...Mon Cher?”
Foggy felt goosebumps rise on his skin at the familiar French term.
“Cara Mia.” He replied as he scooped his Morticia into his arms and carried her up the stairs to her apartment, where they would stay for the rest of the night.

Tumblr media
The music had long ago stopped, and the only sounds that could be heard were our lips kissing, and the moans that followed.
My body was on fire from Matt’s heated touch.  His sinful hands were everywhere; touching my face to feel my reactions to him, touching and squeezing my breasts after I insisted that it was okay; caressing my thighs with those burning fingertips and venturing so close yet so far from where I really wanted his touch.
I just wanted our clothes off already!
His hardness grinding into the heat between my legs was the most delicious form of torture.  Matt was delicious period.  His hair unkempt from my ministrations, his shirt unbuttoned with his white undershirt blocking my view of his naked torso hiding underneath, his perfect lips red and swollen from or kissing, his brown eyes now almost black from desire.  His pants, I could tell, were noticeably tighter due to his more than impressive hardened arousal.
I was right! I knew it was big!
Feeling it was amazing, but now I wanted to see it.  Matt’s hips stuttered as I started unbuckling his belt.
“Are you sure?” He stopped to ask me, gently holding my wrists.
I kissed him in response. “Yes.  I want this. I want you.” I moved his hand up my inner thigh, closer and closer to my heat.  I was desperate for him, I was begging, “Touch me.  Please.”
Matt was breathing heavy as his fingertips grazed the outside of my panties, he groaned hungrily at how wet I was.
Just as he was about to pull my panties off, he stopped.
His head popped up and titled as if he heard something, his body stiffened in alarm.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, breathless and confused and the sudden interruption.
Matt looked down at me, regret on his face as he said the dreaded words, “I have to go.”
“What?!” I exclaimed as I sat up when he stood from the couch. “Why?”
Matt hurriedly buckled his belt, and reached for his jacket.  “There’s something I have to do, I don’t have time to explain.”  He turned and walked over to me, “I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t understand.  What is it you have to do that you have to leave like this?” I frowned, starting to feel my insecurities creep back.  “Is it me? Did I do something wrong? Am I moving too fast, because I thought we were having a good time.”
Matt reached for my face with both hands and eagerly replied, “No, no, God no, it’s not you at all! This night, being here with you has been amazing! I just have something urgent to take care of.” He leaned in and kissed my fiercely and tenderly. “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
He let me go and made his way to the door.  “I gotta go, but I swear I’ll come by.  I’ll call you.  Goodnight, Iris.”
And with that, he was gone.
My heart was beating loudly from the adrenaline, my appearance was no doubt as unkempt as Matt’s was, and my earlier arousal changed into full blown frustration and confusion. And all I could do was ask myself:
“What the fuck was that?!”
-------------
Later That Night
I couldn’t bring myself to call Lucy, no matter how badly I wanted to.  She was most likely still on her date with Foggy, and I wouldn’t forgive myself if I interrupted them.  Claire’s out of the question, she’s either working at the hospital or asleep.  And my band of gypsies don’t know the intimate details of my life yet, so I can’t call any of them.  And I still can’t bring myself to actually talk to my mom yet, no matter how much I want to hear her voice again. So I just settled for taking a cold shower and shamelessly eating almost all of the remaining desserts myself.
I just didn’t understand what the hell happened, and it’s frustrating the hell out of me.  He left so abruptly and was annoyingly vague, and I was having the female equivalent of blue balls.
The least he could’ve done was give me my first real orgasm before running off.  I should buy a damn vibrator.
I decided to walk up to the roof level and get some fresh air.  I needed to get out of that apartment, all I could smell was Matt, and it just kept frustrating me.  The air was cool, the city was lit up, yet the world fell silent.  My thoughts were too loud, maybe the silence can clear my head.  I looked up at the starlit sky for answers that I won’t get.
I was pulled away from my thoughts when I heard a sudden crashing noise behind me.  The rooftop was dark, and I was the only one up here.  I was on high alert.  I looked for a possible defence weapon, finding an empty beer bottle.  It’ll have to do.
I slowly walked in the direction of the noise, where I heard a pained grunt.
“Who’s there?” I asked, trying not to sound scared.
I heard more grunting and shuffling as I found the source of the noise.  I immediately dropped the beer bottle when I saw a familiar figure under the light.
There in his familiar black attire, leaning in pain against the wall of the doorway, was Daredevil.  Bloodied and wounded.

Hiya! First off I just wanted to say your rnm palette ask sets are just utter perfection! They're legit so gorgeous I keep staring at them! And I was wondering if you had a tutorial or tips/tricks on how you made the Isobel+alien girls set with the mixed colours? Keep up the amazing work!!!
hey!! firstly thank you so much!! ❤️❤️
i tried to do a tutorial, i apologize in advance for any english mistakes and if i’m not good at explaining or you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate to hmu :))
this will be a tutorial to make gifs in the style of this. i won’t go too much into the practical how to make a palette part.
there’s probably a lot of other better tutorials out there for this, but that’s my way of doing it:
(If you want a very quick summary of all this + just tips i put them at the end, because this is gonna be a long walk through.)
(edit: if you use this pls send me your stuff i wanna see it lol)
Detailed tutorial:
So one important thing is to choose the right kind of scene and to know what you’re going to be able to do with it. For example it’s easier to color a well lit scene but if it’s too bright it might also be annoying, it also depends on the colors you’ll be going for. Your life is going to be a lot easier if there isn’t too much movement. If it moves a lot, it can still work well if the background is a solid color, by using the selective color adjustment layer. Also sometimes you just have to try to see if it works!!
Since there isn’t a strict rule on how to do it i’m gonna walk you through how i make it personally.
for this i’ve chosen this palette
Tumblr media
I like it because it’s bright and there’s a colors that are gonna be nice to use with the scene I picked.
Tumblr media
Once you’ve made your gif and you’ve cut it/sharpened it how you please (for this kind of gifsets I like a smooth sharpening but it’s really your choice) we can start to bring do the light and then the colors.
This step is like, to each their own. I usually go with curve first, then light/contrast, levels, exposure, then the selective colors layer for the blacks, and vibrancy.
(i’m putting the settings i used here for reference but it really depends on the scene, i don’t always use the light/contrast, exposure, either.)
Tumblr media
(sorry it’s in french but it’s the exact same thing in english, and they’re in order)
Tumblr media
I added another curve because i thought it was too dark and now i’ve got this.
Now we’re gonna start with the selective colors:
(I add another selective color layer because to me it doesn’t have the same use as the one I put before.)
Tumblr media
technically you can start with the blacks and go up (blacks, greys, whites, magentas, blues…) here i didn’t change the blacks because i already did that layer before or the greys because it changes the picture globally and here i didn’t see the point to do that at this stage, but on some gifs it can be helpful.
i like to take off some yellow in the whites and add some blue.
Tumblr media
then for magenta i do this:
Tumblr media
it works because there isn’t that much magenta in the picture but it’s also something that you have to see case by case for the different colors.
same for blue and cyan:

don’t really care about the greens, on this particular picture it doesn’t change much.
then i took off some yellow and did this with the red. my goal with this is to have her skin not be yellow. for now i don’t worry about her hair, just worrying about her skin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then i added a color balance adjustment layer
Tumblr media
i also added another curve bc it was still too dark in my taste and at this stage i’ve got this:
Tumblr media
so now we’re gonna start to try and color specific elements, it’s like imagining the gif as blocks of colors that i gotta get from one color to another.
i start with her lips. they’re pink and i want them to be more red to match the red in the color palette. so i use a hue/saturation layer.
Tumblr media
basically i change it so it matches the palette, less pink and more red.
Tumblr media
i also changed the yellow a bit so her skin looks closer to the color i’m aiming for, and i made it lighter.
Tumblr media
then i’m gonna start on the background.
i’m gonna try to make it blue like the blue in the palette.
for this we’re gonna add a new transparent layer and we’re gonna paint on it with a soft brush. that’s what we’re gonna do for the rest of the “color blocks” (background, hair, jacket). since she doesn’t move a lot in the frame, i decided to (roughly) select her silhouette and then color the outside of the selection.
Tumblr media
then i changed the blending mode of this layer to “color” (it doesn’t have to be color, i usually try a few different blending modes until i find the one that works). and since it still doesn’t look very good on the edges, i duplicated it and went to filter, gaussian blur, at  about 4,5, to smooth it up.
Tumblr media
it doesn’t have to be perfect in my opinion, i think it works pretty well.
now moving on to the hair: i want them to be yellow to match the yellow of the palette. i add a new transparent layer, repeat.
Tumblr media
here i didn’t select them, i painted directly with the soft brush. i changed this layer to “soft light” because it’s the one that works the best. i also added a hue/saturation layer where i made the yellow a little more vibrant.
then i still think her face is a little bit too yellow so i added a selective color layer where i removed some yellow, i put it under the first transparent layer and then i erased it on the layer mask on the places that aren’t her skin so that it doesn’t have an effect there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then it’s great because her jacket is already kinda green and there’s green on the palette!
so i do the same thing with a transparent layer and i color it with the green of the palette. changed this one to color and added a hue/saturation layer to make it brighter and worked on the mask so that it only has an effect on the jacket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and you’ve got your result!!
you can still make your adjustments but i’m gonna stop there for this one :D
now since it was very long and some of you already know how to do all of this
general tips:
- pick the right scene.
- see the different parts of the gif as “blocks of colors”
- use the drafts on tumblr. to see what the gif looks like on its own, to see what it looks like compared to the others, post it as a draft, look at it, change it, change it again, change it again.
- if you wanna match a palette open the palette in ps and go back to it all the time lol. i’m bad at this but it’s what you should do!!
quick summary if you don’t feel like reading my blabbering:
pick the right scene
make your normal gif
do the light first
do what you can with the general colors of the gif, think of the skin. selective colors is your friend.
paint the different blocks of colors, change the blending modes, use selection if you have to
final adjustments!!
once again, if you’ve got any question i’ll try my best to answer them. hope this helps somewhat!

Raven Springs Academy Chapter 22: The Party
Homecoming week has finally come to an end, but now I’m bored outta my mind with nothing to do. Mama and Papí are at work and Evan’s at abuela’s. ...maybe Dallas would want to hang out with me for once, it’s been a while since she has. “Daaalllaaaaas~” I song her name loudly as I rolled out of bed and slipped on my houseshoes. Lately she’s always hanging out with her other friends or some mysterious boyfriend of hers. A sick feeling came over me as I remembered the discussion about Ash and Dallas with Lil and KJ earlier. It can’t be Ash though, I asked him if there was anything going on between him and Dallas, and he said no and I believe him! He doesn’t act interested in her, at least not like he does with me. We’ve kissed twice already, so he gotta be more interested in me...at least I hope so anyways. I could hear her music playing outside her door and it got louder as I opened it and walked inside. Dallas was sitting at her makeup dresser, her table lamp made her sequin top sparkle like crazy. “Oh wooow, lookit yooou, all dressed up with supposedly nowhere to go.”
She looked at me from her mirror all surprised. “You’re still here?! I thought you were going over Lillith’s?”
“Nah, I didn’t wanna intrude in their family night. Think her moms are supposed to be there. Soo,” I grabbed her computer chair and pushed it next to her as I sat down. “Whatcha doooin’?”
“As you can see,” she waved her free hand up and down beside her, “I’m getting ready for a party.”
I didn’t know there was a party tonight...I should go, it’ll be fun. “I wanna go to the party!” If she’s going, then he gotta be there too.
She sighed as she closed her left eye and started applying an electric blue eyeliner to match the right. “Well, when you have more popular friends and a boyfriend, you’ll get invited to a lot of things too.”
So she does have a boyfriend! Papí and Daddy always said that girls only wore makeup if guys are involved. I didn’t think they were actually serious! Would Ash finally ask me out if I started wearing makeup? ...oh my God what if it’s for him?! “I wanna boyfr-!”
“Anna I swear to God if I mess up I’ll stab you with this eyeliner.”
I waited until she finished applying the eyeliner and started putting on lipstick. “I want a boyfriend.” She ignored me and put on a pair of her ‘lucky’ diamond earrings. “Big Sister, help me get a boyfriend now.” I pleaded in Spanish. She opened her drawer and pulled out a bottle of blue liquid. “What’s that?”
She pushed me away before spraying herself with the bottle. “None of your business, and no, I won’t help get a boyfriend. You’re not mature enough and Uncle Mae wouldn’t be happy about it.”
“Pfft, I am too mature enough.” I muttered crossing my arms. “You never wanna hang out with me anyway.” Guess I should take matters into my own hands. Some basic makeup stuff should do it. I looked around and reached for one of Dallas’ lip glosses. Easy peasy.
Dallas smacked my hand and moved her lip glosses away from me. “What do you think you’re doing, Anna?!”
“I’m wanna put makeup on like you!” I huffed. “You practically wear it all the time!”
“Because I’m more grown than you.” She hissed.
“How? You’re 17, just a year older than me! If being 16 or older makes you grown then I am too dammit!”
“Anna, you brat,” she turned my chair around and shoved me towards the door. “Get out!”
She’s not telling me something, she has to be going to the party with Ash, he has to be her secret boyfriend! “No, it’s not fair!” I jumped up from the chair and glared at her, and her red eyes glared back. She was pissed off, but not as much as me. “Papi said that neither of us could wear makeup or have boyfriends until we’re 18, but look at you. You get to wear all this makeup and go out with your boyfriend, but I don’t! I wanna wear makeup! I want my own boyfriend! I’m just as mature as you are!”
“So, you think you’re all grown up and mature now?” She asked . Dallas rose out of her seat and began shifting. Her dark skin turned brighter to match my own, and her braided hair changed to a textured cut with a fringe. Then her irises turned from a raging red to a cold, sterling grey. She was turning into him.
She took a step towards me in the new form and I stepped back. “Dallas stop it.” My voice trembled at the end and my heart started pounding when she took another step. “Dallas, I mean it stop!” That’s not him.
“Oh? You mean to tell me you’re still afraid of me, Doll?” Her voice had changed to his, making the appearance more real than I’d like. “What happened between us was so long ago.”
“Dallas, please! Don’t come any closer!” My back pressed against her door and my hand fumbled around looking for the doorknob. “You know I don’t like this!” He’s not here, this isn’t real. Dallas is tryna scare me is all.
“But haven’t you missed me puppet?” He asked coldly. “It’s been years since we last saw each other, and I’ve been dying to hold you again.”
The shadows around the room seemed to be moving around as he came closer, then the tendrils snaked their way from him and slowly made their way to me. “DAEMON STOP, STOP IT!”
“But a moment ago you were shouting about how mature you are, now look at you. Quivering in fear at the site of someone who’s not even here.” She turned back into herself and stood in front of me. “If you were actually mature, you would’ve gotten over whatever happened between you and him and moved on! And you definitely wouldn’t be in my room acting like a damn child! Now get out and start acting your age, Annabelle!”
My hand finally found the doorknob and I snatched her door open and stormed out of her room. Back in my own room, I slammed my door and leaned against it. I hate this, why am I still afraid of him?! Sparks started flying out of my hands and hair, and I slumped to the floor, pulled my knees to my chest and rocked myself. He’s gone, far far away from me. I’m safe from him. I held myself tighter as the sparks became frequent and vibrant. I’m not a child, I’m as mature as she is, I know it! I know she’s going to that party with Ash, I know something’s up between them! I just need proof! But how? How can I prove it?! I screamed into my lap as I released a wave of electricity, knocking all the power out. ...why am I doing this, acting like this? ...am I in love with Ash?

Living in Technicolor
This is something I like to call the Synesthesia AU. Now I know this isn't exactly how synesthesia works, but humor me for a bit. Also, for my sanity, I left out Mousse, the Tweedles and Amon.  If you wanna read more of my stuff, then check here.  PS thanks for the title idea Naga~
Tumblr media
Everything had its own color. From vibrant to muted, everything every sound had a color - with people being the most dazzling of them all.
Everyone had their own mix of colors. No less than two but no more than four, always shifting as time went on, making it nigh impossible for any two people to be exactly the same, and it filled her days with magic not even Lancelot or Harr could ever hope to imagine. It was only something she could see - a world found not through looking, but through hearing.
Mornings in the kitchen with Luka were bathed in warm hues, while he himself would sneak a little lilac and blue - and a pink she’d only seen from a certain someone in the Red Army, if she were to be honest - whenever he reminded her of which to chop, which to simmer, which to take off the fire. Whatever heat there was, his calming presence, both seen and felt, eased her soul.
Training would then start, and she’d be bombarded by a myriad of colors that even the grandest of rainbows would be put to shame. Often times, the chaotic flashes that accompanied the soldiers’ shouts would be too much, and she’d wander off to somewhere quieter, until the hues slowed to faint pulses. It wouldn’t be long then, until Sirius’ soothing azure and green found her - those colors of his seamlessly melding with a deep purple and brilliant red in a way she found difficult to forget - and she’d be tasked with chores and errands.
Come afternoon, she’d be swept up in Fenrir’s whirlwind of lime as they roamed Central Quarter, warmed by the sweet traces of blush and steadied by the touches of slate and navy that danced around the periphery of her vision. Even on the gloomiest and coldest of days, he’d swoop in with his own version of a sun that could easily outshine the one that sat high up in the sky.
It was either that, or Seth would come bounding up to her, surrounding her with a sea of teal, with all the comforts of a gentle surf, the thrills of an intense wave, and… the mysteries of an endless depth. So much so that tendrils and blotches of an black would sometimes creep around the edges, ominous and heavy. Yet just as sudden as they would appear, they would disappear, and a soft beige would take its place, as if it was the shore to save her from drowning.
At night, it wasn’t as easy to see the shades people gave off - especially Ray’s. His was a blue that teetered between midnight and navy, something that swung between the solemn quiet of evening and the noble burden of duty. Scattered all across were flecks of  yellow-green and wisps of mint, fading in and out like fireflies in a field on a midsummer night. Each moment he spoke was a breath of fresh air and a source of confidence, and it made it impossible not to pay attention.
There were days when she’d run into Red Army folk in Central Quarter, and despite their less than pleasant first impressions, she had come to appreciate the colors they brought with them as well.
Often, it was Kyle she would run into during her errands into Central Quarter, and at each instance, she’d be able to spot him first before being able to discern his hues. It was not unusual to find pastels hanging about him, what with all the children that surrounded him, and it was only when the little ones had gone back to their families that she’d be able to see the chocolate and burgundy his voice carried - cozy and familiar, with the gentle ripples of amber stirring up the slightest bit of mischief.
Sometimes, she would chance upon Zero while he was on patrol, and on rare occasions - whether it was by luck or lack thereof - Edgar would be with him. With those two together, she found some difficulty in separating their respective colors and pinpointing the softer tones, at first. Zero's crisp orange melted much too easily into Edgar's  vibrant yellow, but in time, she learned.
With Zero, it was innocent baby blues and cream blooming here and there whenever he spoke… mostly. There were… instances - much too few and far in between - when she'd find black strike across her vision like dark lightning, and just like lightning, it'd be gone in the blink of an eye, leaving her wondering whether the flash had actually happened.
Edgar, much to her surprise, had pinks and lavenders strewn across, the two colors flaring up whenever he poked fun at someone - especially so when it was Jonah. His hues were sweet and cheery, reminiscent of the candies he oh so loved, but then from time to time, small cracks of something akin to a dark rust would appear along the edges, marring what otherwise would have been a happy scene. In no time though, those cracks would be patched up with more of his yellow, but they would always come back sooner or later, and it was a mystery to her what they could be.
It wasn’t often she'd run into Jonah, but when she did, carnation and lilac would flood all around her despite whatever sharp words he'd send her way. It made for an interesting sight - him brushing her off as coldly as he could, when his colors were something so tender and pure - and even with the occasional pulses of red, it didn't take away from his pastel, almost childlike tones. In those moments, she could see the family resemblance in a much different, much amusing way.
As for Lancelot - it didn't surprise her when a red that matched their Army's flag appeared when he first spoke. Initially, his voice, his color struck fear into her heart. However nowadays, although it still commanded attention, the gentler blues and violets she had come to know that accompanied his brilliant red made for something much more encouraging rather than frightening - save for the thin fog of black that would roll in and out of her view.
Some days would bring her to the White Rabbit's quaint home, where she'd be greeted with the smell of tea and sweets, Blanc's sky blue and Oliver's emerald green. She could still recall the first time she had met the two, the both of them filling her vision with colors she hadn't quite expected from them.
Aside from the cool blue and classic champagne that Blanc's words carried, as if stuck in an eternal clear spring day, there was also a halo of ashen gray surrounding her view. Which she found odd, if she had to be frank. After all, it was the kind of gray she had only seen in the elderly, along with other more muted colors, but Blanc’s were still striking in their own right - not at all what she would expect to see from someone supposedly nearing the end of their life.
Oliver was different matter of confusion all together. Most children would speak in pastels and light tones, but Oliver- Every time he opened his mouth, it was flashes of emerald, and gunmetal, and bronze. They were bright and distinct, and it was hard for her to believe that a child would have them. Even more confusing was the fact that Oliver's colors were exactly the same as one of Kyle's drinking buddies, and with all the people she had met - both in Cradle and in the Land of Reason - she had never seen two people have the same colors, ever. But everything was exactly the same between Oliver and that man, and it had her doubting just how true that belief of hers was.
And then there were also days when her feet - or a certain cat, as was usually the case - would lead her deep into the forest.
However, instead of the green from the foliage, she would find everything dyed in hues of magenta, purple and gold. It made for an entertaining walk through the woods, even more so when Loki amused her with little magic tricks that sent leaves and flower flying about like confetti. Even the Lake of Tears appeared more ethereal than it already was whenever she and Loki passed by.
If they were lucky, Harr would be there fishing and they'd be spared the rest of the walk to their home. Harr wasn't one to talk, but when he did, it was in a mellow violet, with misty blues and hazy reds she was certain she'd seen somewhere in the two Armies before. His calmer tones contrasted Loki's brighter ones, but there was a commonality between them - a black smoke that would come in wisps and whispers, barely visible but always there.
All their colors, she knew, stemmed from their personalities, their relationships, their experiences, and she couldn't help but wonder just how these people had come to know each other in such a profound way that it would leave a mark on their being. Even more, she wondered what color she would leave behind in them, because as easy as it was for her to see the colors of their voices-
She couldn't see her own.
