Hello hello hello! How are you? I’ve looked through you posts and I gotta say, you are very talented when it comes to drawing engines I AM JEALOUS.

I’m wondering tho, what would Alice look like as a human? You’re TTTE humanizations are very faithful to their source material so I’m wondering how would you handle her

Oh I have been WAITING for someone to ask this!

First off, thank you! It's definitely not easy to draw locomotives lol, but I'm still learning and happy with how well they've come out since I started! But anyway, onto Alice... she's come a long way, but this is the human design I've settled on for her:

Here's Alice "Duchess" Stanier! (She got the nickname because of how often she drove Duchesses on the LMS.) Now, Alice is a big engine. Naturally then, she MUST be a big lady! She's top heavy with large forearms, wide shoulders, and long legs. And I don't need to say that she's incredibly strong for a woman (working on a railway for 20 years does that to you). She's also rather tall and heavy for one. (Don't ask her weight. Most people can't handle the truth.) Here's a height comparison between her, Gordon, and Henry. (Gordon is about 6'6.) She doesn't wear jewelry at work, but I couldn't help including a big pair of earrings to represent her smoke deflectors.

She wears her hair in a pixie cut because she used to be a Karen to make her job easier, and because it represents Alice regaining confidence in herself after an ex-fianceé left her for a more "traditionally beautiful" woman. She may like red lipstick and makin' men blush, but she's a tomboy through and through! (Just ask her little cousin, Henry...) In fact, it was that very breakup that pushed Alice as a young lady to start completely new and do something drastic- work on a railway as a cleaner. Except, oops, she fell in love again- with railway life! She got so good at her job, that by the time she was 45 she had reached top link at the LMS!

At first, the tomboy thing didn't exist for Alice. I was modeling her more after Peggy Carter in a femme fatale thing. She had an hourglass shape and a still-short but girlier bob.

But I was just never happy with it! (Which is why I never finished this masterpiece 🤣) But after I learned about those 60s pixies that some women wore, I came up with this sketch and LOVED it. (They are besties, your honor)

This was the old attempt (plus my super helpful notes) at drawing this design, but it felt too boring and flat. I tried jazzing up the shape language a bit, but still wasn't happy with the proportions. But I took that sketch and turned it into the above, and I love the way it looks now! But anyway, that's what I have to say about human Alice. I've been wanting to infodump this for a while lol, thanks @thatcasualgamergirl for the ask!!

the sketches were all of my initial concept art for him! he's. so fun to draw. even if it did take me a bit to figure out how to do so. i love his hair ;_; <3

overall his design is very inspired roman Catholicism but. like. more fun? idk lol i just vibe with it. might make the tie darker? and the gloves with his cassock might look good with another color? eh! whatev, i might change it i might not- but this is it so far :D!

so, as a young child Jon grew up neutral on religion. his grandmother didn't favor any one of the gods more than the other and that sort of thinking carried over to him for a good while

when Jon was 8, he had a close encounter with a creature born from the Web: a giant spider that would tell you your fate (and possibly offer you a gift) if you gave it a sacrifice

Jon had found an old fable book with a map to it's nest. of course he had no intention of following it, just enjoying the stories inside! but a thief snagged the book from him- and upon realizing what the book led too -took Jon with him as his sacrifice

when they reached the nest after a long journey, the thief presented Jon to the spider. but the spider did not take him, it took the thief- and the little Jon could only watch, frozen in terror, as his captor was eaten by the giant spider.

after it finished its meal, the spider told Jon that his fate was of a cosmic importance, "I'm quite excited to see how this plays out," it said.

naturally this was kinda traumatizing for the child that literally just wanted to read but ok :l

the whole experience brought jon a phobia of spiders, a distrust and fear of strangers, general paranoia, ptsd, and a rejection of the webs power and the concept of fate as a whole

now- its not uncommon for some people to reject the powers of certain gods? some things born from their power are quite unpleasant, so there are steps one may take to protect themselves from the powers of one or more of the gods. (its complicated to explain but i hope that makes sense-)

suffice to say jon does NOT want to be controlled or have his fate decided by anyone or anything like that! being THAT important is scary!!! so he tries very hard to prevent any powers of the web coming near him- and he also tries to keep a low profile so he can live a calm and peaceful life without. yknow. being an important part of the fate of the entire bloody world.

he turns to the cult of the Beholding for salvation. after all, its whole thing is being aware and knowing things, and jon wanted nothing more than to know what wanted to hurt him and what didn't.

moving to London, he joined the House of Magnus, and went from a devotee to a researcher.

he became friends with Tim: a man who turned to the beholding out of his own rejection for the Stranger, and Sasha: a young woman who'd worshipped the beholding and worked at the house of magnus her entire life.

things were great for a while, and then the head archivist, Gertrude Robinson, disappeared.

normally the previous archivist would choose someone to pass the position down to, but her disappearance meant that the current head of the church, Elias, would have to choose instead. and he gave the position to Jon

it was absurd! Jon didn't want the position of archivist- everyone knew about the prophecy and Jon certainly didn't want that much pressure on him!!

not to mention- it became pretty much expected that Sasha would become the next archivist! given her history of devotion, her skills, all the work she did for everyone, hell- Gertrude even mentored her for half her life for god's sake!

Elias's reasoning was that Gertrude had broken the Archivists oath: to always protect and preserve knowledge. he claimed that the Ceaseless Watcher itself had requested Jon rather than Sasha, as Gertrude's choices were not to be trusted. and it was not up for debate what their patron wanted...

so there was no choice. jon was terrified, sasha was devastated, and tim was furious for them both.

the ceremony went on, jon was given the Watchers Crown (the sacred headpiece of the archivist) and then he went down to the archives with tim and sasha as his chosen assistants.

Elias sent down another down with them- Martin, a librarian who devoted himself to both the eye and the web. Jon was not so keen to be trusting a devotee of the web, especially with all the stress going through his head at the moment- so he wasn't very warm to martin.

as the archivist- jon does his best to do the work he was given, frequently requesting help and teachings from sasha as she clearly knew more about this than him. all throughout, he squished any spider he found. and stubbornly refused to give in to any possible notion of him being the one from the prophecy. he couldnt be. he refused it.

but the will of one man is far outweighed by that of a god, and at some point he just might have to accept the responsibility he deep down knows is his...

AAAAAAAAAAA THAT WAS ALOT- if you read this entire fucking essay then just know i love you so so so much and i am hugging you tightly ;_;

Digimon Tamers - Episode 14

Oh snap! The plot be plottin'! Yamaki's (finally learned his name) plot to destroy all digimon fails spectacularly and instead he creates a rift between both worlds and -checks notes- Mihiramon (a perfect level) comes through. We also get a bunch of new stuff introduced this time: using cards to digivolve, Takato being "connected" to Guilmon, and Guilmon's perfect digivolution MegaloGrowmon! Still don't fully know what's going on, but there are more mysteries to solve now which means I'm more invested :)

Notes:

That skyscraper they keep showing with the two towers...is that a real building in Shibuya or something made up for the anime? I tried googling this, but found nothing.

The silhouetted digimon flying into their doom was pretty creepy. Kinda reminds me of all of the souls floating around in the Underworld in Hercules (but like...in the sky instead)

So the enemy digimon acknowledge that they were created by humans but they only obey their "God." For a second I was like "but isn't your God supposed to be your creator??" but that's not necessarily the case in a lot of polytheistic religions, so I guess anything goes.

Yamaki casually chokes out Jian and Terriermon barely reacts ("that guy's rude!") lol wtf

Two very ugly digimon designs in this episode: Mihiramon (weird name) and MegaloGrowmon. Mihiramon looks like he was designed by an 8 year old (I had to laugh when they showed his nunchuck tail) and MegaloGrowmon is just profoundly derpy. Kinda looks like it hurts to be him and he's lost a lot of ability to emote because there's way too much going on with his face.

Considering the timing of when this anime came out, I bet Matrix Evolution was inspired by the coolness of The Matrix for sure. I doubt the name has much meaning aside from sounding neat.

Lots of big hits to the digimon in this one, Renamon falls off of a sky scraper and makes a huge dent in the concrete below and yet apparently takes zero fall damage. Growmon gets his entire side chomped on by Mihiramon and is also okay I guess (maybe digivolving to MegaloGrowmon healed him?)

Galgomon is apparently just braindead because he fully shoots at the open air for a weirdly long time during his fight. Also...apparently he can run out of ammo which I didn't see coming. How the heck does that work? Where does the ammo come from? When he runs out is that it until he de-digivolves and then digivolves again? So many questions...

So Takato is linked to Guilmon physically and was able to create him from a drawing...there's gotta be some connection there...

Suddenly Takato's friends are okay with him being an IRL digimon tamer. I guess they had to fully see him in action to respect it. Seems a little two faced of them...

Culumon was pretty prominent in the matrix evolution sequence...(but why tho)

Megalomon's digivolution sequence was in that charming early CGI. Doesn't look fantastic, but it's nostalgic. I think I can see some improvement from earlier seasons at least. Actually I think these mecha-esque designs sometimes look better in the CGI and then look awkward in the 2D animation.

In Blaze’s arc (the Armarouge drawn) he just lost his eye and has a huge scar on his chest thanks to Shade (his brother.) when he was in the hospital bed thinking about the event that just happened, he thought to himself that he regretted not telling his true feeling to Venci sooner. He had a childhood crush on Venci and never told him about his feelings before he joined a guild and moved away to the kingdom.

I want a character that would represent a bright future for Blaze after he just lost his eye and got retraumatized again. At first I tried to use a Lucario (if you looked at my older drawings you would see Blaze with a lucario)

but when it actually came down to designing Venci I was struggling. I tried making the lucario shiny, not shiny, making it look different etc but nothing seemed to be working. I even tried a Leavanny and cinderace but hated all the results.

I was starting to hate this character of Venci before he even had a designed, he didn’t look right to me no matter what I did, then my friend suggested I use a Roserade. At first I scoffed at the idea of using a Roserade but after some convincing from my friend I did a Roserade. these were the first drawings.

After these drawings it all started to click.

I was pretty shocked with how good he looked right off the bat. I altered his colors a little bit and this is how we have the Venci today.

Let's look deeper in his design, as said before I wanted a character that would represent a good future for Blaze after what he went through. I choose to give Venci red and yellow roses instead of red and blue roses like most roserades. Depending on the roses colors they represent something. The obvious one and most well known is the red roses representing love, at some point in the story Blaze confesses his feeling to Venci and they start dating. The yellow roses represent friendship, joy, excitement and love at first sight, since blaze fell in love with Venci when Venci evolved into a roselia. I guess the yellow roses could represent Blaze's childhood and his feelings on Venci. You could even say Venci's hair flower could also represent bringing peace and new beginnings, starting over and rebirth. (it could also rep for love as will lol)

Now to explain the meowscarada features. Venci is NOT a fusion in fact, he just has features of a meowscarada because his father is a meowscarada. The reasons why I made him a catboy is more of a personal one, when my childhood pets all passed it was like starting a new life. Someone in my life passed, I moved states with my stepdad and sorta started life over again. When my parents got a new cat it sorta felt like a clear slip between my old childhood life and my adult life. In a way having a cat-like character to represent a new future for a character who was recently traumatized sorta mirrors my real life. That's why I made Venci a catboy is because to me, a cat represents an end and new beginnings.

Now for his name, originally Venci was going to be named fanny but my friend didn't like that name and i couldn't come up with anything better so they did some research and found Vinci roses, they are roses that can only be yellow and red and I thought they were super fitting. It also sounded cooler so i kept the name.

When I first drew Venci as a lucario he was originally was going to be a happy go lucky type guy, but after drawing him as a roserade and giving him this stupid face his personally was cemented.

He became an egotistical dumbass who is a big flirt and is too cocky for his own good. He may be good at battling but he ignores his limits and that results in him losing battles thinking he can take on stronger pokemon. He's very silly but he dose things with good intent but sometimes pushes himself due to his ego. He could have some character development where he isn't as egoistical and self centered. His ego also makes him think he can't fail at any guild missions. For awhile he hasn't failed at a guild mission until he meet Penelope who was the first pokemon he wasn't able to get captured. This sylveon was fucking with him and no matter what she always slips through getting away and making him fail his mission and seeing himself as a failure.

TLDR: Venci was a dogboy but now is a catboy and i think that's fucked up.

i really like minos prime's theme btw, it's unironically something i listen to daily a fuller list in no particular order: ultrakill, celeste, nso, nine sols, jsab, ender lilies, hollow knight, stardew valley, slime rancher and sr2, undertale and deltarune, yume nikki (but not really anymore), a hat in time, unfortunately league of legends

i also unfortunately play roblox and have a very great selection of games that i am definitely normal about :] i fuck heavy with block tales, pressure, grace, dandy's world, entry point, decaying winter, combat initiation, dream game, doomspire defense and hours

contrary to popular belief, i do in fact go outside i like playing rhythm games (please do not call gd a rhythm game in front of me btw /srs) i'm a hardstuck 11.7X arcaea thumbs player, casual phigros and cytus2 player and i am an avid pjsk disliker. i've also played osu, muse dash and unfortunately fnf below is a demonstration of my profound skill issue

as for arcade rhythm games, i started playing maimai and chunithm this year and within the span of maybe a month, i reached 13.7 in chuni and took maybe a total of 10-12 days across the span of a few months to reach 11.2k in maimai which i'm pretty proud of :)

i have tried sdvx and ddr as well but i much prefer maimai and chunithm since all i need to do is move my upper body and not have to coordinate myself as hard :'D

Happy 2000-- er... 2400 followers! I suppose this is what I get for overestimating how long it would take me to do two full bodies and 14 busts which I wound up cropping anyway lol.

So first off, this was a considerable challenge for me since I don't normally draw in an anime style, and I think that shows. There were a lot of wonky proportions that I ended up having to go back and sort of fix in post. Irida, Rei, and Akari were especially bad-- my own sister told me that Rei looked like "a cross between a Victorian orphan and a frog". I decided to redraw all three of them, but since I drew them on a smaller canvas, I think it messed with the resolution a little when I shrank them down. I'm not sure anyone would notice if they weren't looking for it, but I've been staring at this for so long that I can't unsee it.

Next was the brilliant decision to put Emmet, Elesa, and Drayden on a light background. They initially faded right in, so I went back over some of the outlines to make them more readable; I had also tried putting the whole Unova set on a darker background, but found that it drew too much attention and unbalanced the piece.

On to the good things!

I adore how Melli and Zisu turned out. I don't know what it was, but my art game was on point that day.

I also had a lot of fun trying out different motifs. I knew from the outset that I wanted to play around with the duality of black/white, the duality of past/future, and the idea of making the whole disk resemble a PokéBall. The center design had me stumped for a while; I had initially used screenshots of the Highlands and Gear Station as placeholders during my planning stage, but around halfway through I decided that would be too busy and changed it to a simple railway track design instead. Then I decided I didn't like that either, and at the last minute I went back to a simplified version of my original concept. I think the stylized Coronet mountain range and subway train work nicely.

Other trivia:

During my planning phase, I used everyone's official art as placeholders-- except for Zisu, who for some reason I couldn't find any for. I used a screenshot for her placeholder, and referenced her TCG card for the final drawing.

Emmet being the only character drawn from a head on angle was deliberate. I wanted to subtly highlight his importance while still being able to place a key Pokémon in the center of both groups.

I drew all of my initial sketches on paper, lined and colored in Clip Studio, and compiled/edited everything in GIMP. I am a chaos gremlin and I will not apologize.

The reason I settled on a Station of Awakening as a follower celebration is threefold: The first is that I was hanging out with some good friends, and we wound up playing Melody of Memory. I forget exactly how it came up, but it was definitely a joke at the time as I do recall saying that it would take me forever... which it did, lol. The second reason is that I later realized that my first post on the blog (after the original "Ingo shouldn't be in old timey Hisui" (x) post) was Kingdom Hearts themed (x). The circle of stupidity is complete! And finally, I'm old enough to remember when making one of these for your blorbo was The Big Fandom Thing ™ that everyone did, and I wanted to indulge in a bit of nostalgia.

I just KNOW Jeb feels conflicted about the plush. Because it's of him and you love it so much, so you must having some type of feelings for him, but on the other hand you give all of your affection to the doll?? When you can just give it to him??? He's torn between being smug, flustered, and jealous. anyway tease Jeb and give him kisses too because man has been through a lot, and doesn't need to get all worked up about a plushie.

AAAA OMFG This is completely adorable, I can't take it. Every time I think I've reached maximum love for Jeb, you just toss another drawing at me and it increases exponentially. (This has me clenching my heart irl, I am serious, it's too good 💕💖💗❤️.)

I'm glad you found the plush for Jeb, and you're completely right, Jeb would feel really conflicted about it. He's glad that you take comfort in something that looks almost exactly like him, because your choice in this particular plushie must mean that you like him more than the other grunts you know as well. It wouldn't make sense to choose this one if you didn't, hence the smugness about it where they (his rivals) are concerned.

However, you should also realize that Jeb can offer you far more in return than a plushie can in terms of comfort (and everything else). Yet, you give all of your affection to the thing. It doesn't make a lot of sense to him; he's right there if you want someone to cuddle with. (Is he just unapproachable? What motivated you to choose the plushie instead of him? What does he have to do to earn the same level of attention from you?)

I also think he's probably kind of exasperated with himself over it too, cause he's self-aware enough to realize that being jealous of a stuffed toy is a bit dumb. But it's different: you are involved (that's how he tries to justify his envy lol). Either way, he does blush when you show the plush a lot of affection - it's still a likeness of him that you're doing it to, even if he'd rather be in that position himself.

fallen grizzly redraw! I got inspired and felt like redrawing the old one I made back in January 2021:

yeah,,, the backgrounds on both aren't the best but honestly I think the fact that grizzly is bigger in the redraw just makes the blocky shapes okay since he covers most of it lol

there's also details that got cut off by other aspects like a small cut + earring on his right ear, his wings are clipped (I did take a pic of that: )

I was going to go with the bat ish like wings again like in the og drawing, but honestly I didn't really like them so I went with the "fallen angel" type thing and had them appear clipped (so in lore/theory you could say the other three clipped his wings before sending him down to hell/the nether habfk)

also tried to make his wings look disheveled and like they haven't been preened ever since he fell

one last ramble lmao but I love how the pose turned out compared to the old one

I wanted grizzly to be just batshit angry and in the video he's got a long ass sword so a sword that long being held by one hand technically wouldn't work- so over the shoulder two hands it is :3c

I mention this sequence a lot and I'm still pretty proud of it. The goal was to write Crosshair and Tahny being psychically linked without it being too cheesy. Lots of focus on the thought pattern switching from "I" to "We" and the like.

This is from Chapter 3 of Disgrace and is kind of a hingpoint to the characters becoming closer:

I watched as the shining dust glimmered for a moment, and then fell into a dark black ash as the sunlight rendered it inert.  Oh well.  What was that she had… I froze.  We had dove away, the sunlight… I didn't think we had gotten any, but that was fast.  I turned to Crosshair, who blinked a few times in a dazed kind of way before moving to slip his helmet back on. Oh I am about to be so~ detrimental… He was looking at me, stiffening when he realized I wasn't speaking aloud.  There's wasn't much time to address this little predicament, as we both turned at the cluster of thoughts tingling to our left flank.  We stood and lifted our gun, we saw… everything. There was a strong, leeward wind.  There you are old friend.  We pulled the trigger. We hit our mark.  I tried to hold onto myself, struggling to quiet my thoughts. It was kind of working, and I sunk into him, becoming small mentally, letting him work as I observed the mechanisms in this ultimate act of voyeurism.  Another target, another mark made. The wind was our guide. Angles and beautiful shadows, a canvas trapping our enemies in focus.   His calculations, my metaphors.  New thoughts, congregating on our right flank.  We draw our pistol and fire. We stare them down as they round a corner of crates. Squeeze the trigger, one, two, three down.  I was staring down my arm and a small moment of shock rippled through us.  I had drawn his side arm and he had used me, my line of sight, to fire behind us.  This could work This could work I let go again. Giving him control and feeling his consciousness burn my cortex as he slipped into my mind purposefully this time. I retreated to the quieter parts of him, nestling into his subconscious, feeling everything that was him around me. The feeling was… exquisite? No, erotic… The dark, shadowy silk of his inner workings wrapped in an ever moving spiral around the thought of what I was, holding it together, caressing against the raw concept of me. It dawned on me why our client may have wanted this stuff and a tremble went through the man against my back as the thought raced from me to him, causing a shot to go wide.  Later

For me, the first one that comes to mind is a specific exchange between (Star Wars) Bad Batch's Hunter and Crosshair. Picturing this scene - and hitting on the last few sentences shared here (in bold) - is what convinced me to turn some of my post-season 3 finale Hunter headcanons into a full fanfic. (I'm including some of the initial dialogue from the scene for further context.)

“I wasn’t there for him.”

Crosshair spoke quietly, and Hunter almost flinched at the words – he could guess where this was going. “Crosshair, don’t…”

“I’m the sniper. I’m supposed to watch your backs. I wasn’t there to watch his.”

But those thoughts shouldn’t belong to Crosshair, those words shouldn’t be coming from Crosshair’s mouth; that guilt was Hunter’s to own, and Hunter’s alone.

I honestly don't blame you, Anon lol It was a mixture of actually talking about FRWBY and attacking Raymond as a person and combining those things into one to paint a picture that Fixing is somehow done as something insidious. There's also discussion about things like 'because the V5 script is 1/3rd the length of a book for 12 year olds and had other people writing with him, he must be lazy'.

They also go over his style of writing and call it bad because it's not a script and hate there's prose in it. Then also proceed to say there's not enough detail, which scripts wouldn't give anyway. So you can basically tell the criticism is a catch-22 scenario where no matter what, Raymond wouldn't be able to rectify anything even if he tried taking advice.

(Presumably) the same anon also sent me imgur links to someone's highly biased criticism, assuming from the links that didn't work for me, which proceeds to go into just shitting on the artists for not having perfect art.

Then there's a lot of poisoning of the well, trying to paint Raymond in as bad a light as possible by saying all sorts of nonsense. Then because she stole or otherwise got a hold of the scripts and drawings of everyone, posted them all up on the farms for people to mock and giggle at.

I don't know where else to post this so. Uhh. All Nintendo systems we've owned!

We never had any real console and have always been strictly handheld haha. We also missed out on the 3DS because of, uh, tregic backstory™ reasons, we just couldn't afford one at the time (same story on why I never owned a drawing tablet growing up lol)...so uh, character development? I guess? It's gonna take me multiple occasions to even tell the story behind them so I'm just gonna dump them under the cut \o/

GBA Micro - Actually the first legit game system we owned! A friend of my late dad was selling it with Pokemon Naranja (yes technically my first Pkmn game is a bootleg cartrige'd romhack...), which is kinda surprising because my late dad knew nothing about video games at all- He only wanted to give a Pokemon game to the 10-years-old me and struck gold with this haha. I didn't even realize this model existed after the SP until years later, it's so small and sturdy! The screen is noticeably more vibrant and crisper than the SP even. This later got passed to my twin sis after we got a GBA SP.

GBA SP - My late dad also bought this from a friend months after we got the Micro just so all 3 of us siblings would stop fighting over the Micro- Okay kidding but. Yeah. (Ironically we never tried multiplayer with both GBAs because no shops ever sell GBA Link Cables here-) Actually has a Lot of Pikachu stickers, though obviously the ones on the top lid peeled off. The only reason it has...uh, seen better days is that my older bro keeps playing in bed and most often than not he always fell asleep mid-game so yeah... Imagine the number of times it fell off... I'm still too scared to even touch it anymore because the hinge feels like it could snap off any day now jkasghsgfhasj

DS Lite - Let's just say I got this as a sort of "graduation" gift from my mom as we finished our final elementary school year haha. The funny story is: I never bought a legit game for my DS since day 1. The seller we bought it from bundled it with an R4 card being all like "oh yeah pick 10 games from our catalog and we'll "install" it on your DS! But ofc if you want to add any new games, do come back :D". Didn't take too long for me and my bro to discover the R4 has an SD card... And can be attached to our laptop...And we found out DS ROMs from the interwebs work with it....... So we never came back........... To this day I have 0 ideas if the seller underestimated us or is sabotaging his sales like this. This still works like a charm even today after I replaced its batteries :D Also this might as well be the first ever red-colored gadget I've owned and kickstarted my obsessions with them ig haha.

Switch Lite - Uh, my twin sis bought this with her own pocket money months ago. Long story short she basically bought it because her friends really wanted her to play ScarVio on launch with them lol. Of course I got stuck in that FOMO too haha-- Plus it matches her baby blue/turquoise laptop and Intuos tablet! Albeit the "turquoise" in this one is more Miku Green™ leaning-

Pokemon Switch OLED - Ah yes I hope you guys know that I worked 3 vacation-less weeks for this knowing that I'll never ever be able to afford this from commissions alone ahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahhhah 😇 Okay. Well. On a lighter note. At first, I was more interested in the Lite because I didn't like any of the colors from the reg Switches but then this ver was announced when I'm still saving up so I'm just "Eh. It has mine and my sis' fav colors (red and purple respectively) so why not." Didn't regret though because I LOVE how nostalgic the sticker bomb pattern at the back!! Reminds me of how I decorated my GBA even!!!! And the dock is so cool!! My attachment also adds up unexpectedly as I ended up liking ScarVio more than I thought euhuhuhu....

Honorable mentions: The PSP 1000. It's the only Sony we ever have and we never even bought it because..........someone left it at my parent's workplace and they never claimed it back for months so. yeah. played the hell out of W/inx Club out of it 7.5/10.

Also the N-Gage which was my bro's "GBA" when we had ours. The N-Gage was so damn cool y'all I've seen more people with an N-Gage than the DS around my area as a kid. Fucked up.

THIS. I just love this one so much because they're like my favourite characters/ favourite trio from my favourite book in the Playchoices universe, because that's a full body piece which is hard. They're the best<3

And the Cas x MC one! obsessed with this actually, because their outfits here is kinda very hard and I'm glad It looks exactly how I want it to look like. I'm not into how I draw their hairs anymore but I discovered something about drawing hairs here so yeahh.

And ofc, the Six Fanarts Challenge! you can clearly see the differences of how I draw their faces, Mal is the first one and Lawrence is the last. I think we can see more expression in Lawrence's face than Mal's, the lips, and the eyes. You can also see the differences in their outfits especially the F!Cas's one and Murphy's. F!Cas's fit, I made it more basic and changed the design of her top (cuz I was lazy💀✋) and It looks weird lol. And Murphy's fit, I completed it, the chains and the belts (guess I'm not that lazy here) same in Lawrence's! and how I coloured it looks different than the first ones too. Funny how a style can change in a few days XD

I'm gonna choose the Playchoices fam because it's the main theme of my blog. So, the first fanart I posted here is actually the Trystan x MC x Alice lol because I always doubt that I can draw digitally. I know digital art a longgg time ago but I'm just always not in the mood to try and learn the tools and this and that because they're a LOT, I was like, why can't there be a pen that draws exactly what's on my mind🙄 But I'm glad I pushed and teach myself instead of a pencil and a piece of paper that hurt my damn hands (but thanks to them I learned how to draw in the first place) but digital is where I improved.

I know that's not the official source of those drawings, but I can only send you the pinterest link because I really did have trouble finding the original post from your or someone else's twitter. I'm guessing it's different & easier for you since you must be using a different device that helps you find sources better.

98% of the time I am on my Samsung phone when I browse and find these images on sites like these, so usually when I want to try to find the source of an art I'd search it through Google Lens, but the result isn't always successful, depending on the picture. Like, sometimes it'll work & it shows me where it originally came from no problem, but other times it just shows me all kinds of image results completely irrelevent & unrelated to the one I'm looking for. When I tried to search for Sisporkzys' Aldryx hug drawing for example, the lens just kept giving me pictures of Deltarune characters for some reason. 😑 (I guess because Kapi looked like one of them, idk)

So yeah, just wanted to clear that up. I really didn't mean to make it look like I was trying to plagiarize anyone or anything. Of course I saw the names watermarked on them; I tried my best to find the original posts but as usual my phone was not being helpful to me at all so I had to settle for the pinterest links. Sorry again.

Google lens sucks lol

Whenever image sourcing I usually use the "find image source" button which takes me to the old image sourcing engine, and search from there.

If you can switch to desktop version when using google on your samsung you'll be able to do it too I imagine.

I once spent about three hours going through google image search, saucenao, etc trying to find the source to the "fiesta stops" rodan image that became such a huge meme a few years back. I ended up finding it and sourcing the original artist lol

You gotta learn how to utilize search engines like a champ. For your sake and others; thanks to this skill I've taught myself I can find artists in record time and it's helpful when my friends ask me to find the artist!

Adrien Agreste =/= Sociopath - About Adrien Salt

I've seen a lot of posts going around about Adrien being a sociopath or the other (harasser, abuser...etc.)

What I find most of those posts lacking is looking at the big picture, or just zeroing in on certain moments of the show and even disregarding the context of those selected moments to unfairly rule judgement on a child (in canon) no less.

Definition of sociopath: A sociopath is a term used to describe someone who has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). People with ASPD can’t understand others’ feelings. They’ll often break rules or make impulsive decisions without feeling guilty for the harm they cause.

People with ASPD may also use “mind games” to control friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers. They may also be perceived as charismatic or charming.

We have to analyze the context and the surroundings Adrien is in.

Family, social life, relationships (platonic and romantic), personality, age, environment...etc.

Family:

We know Adrien has a father who is controlling, preferring to micro-manage every aspect of his son's life to continue to have a semblance of control at all times. We assume (heavily implied in the show), that his mother was kind, warm and emotional (whether that emotional is the "out-there" kind her twin sister has, it remains to be seen.)

According to a snippet from "Simon Says", Adrien also has "Quite a temper, you remind me of someone" according to Gabriel's own words, we can assume the "someone" is Emilie, Gabriel says this when Chat Noir refused to follow his orders and told him to basically "get off his high horse". In this context, anyone who defies Gabriel in such a way would either be branded as "disobedient" or to "have quite a temper".

According to Adrien himself in "Adrien's Double Life" (from Miraculous Secrets) he describes being Chat Noir as "...I can finally do whatever I want to do, say whatever comes to mind." He doesnt feel as restricted and controlled since that's the one aspect of his life his father has no knowledge of.

Social life:

Adrien has had no or very little interaction with peers.

Evidence: Chloe being his childhood friend. Felix commenting on Chloe's appearance in the video she sent for Adrien's birthday, saying "Chloe. Just as annoying as usual." suggests he knows her from before, maybe even as early on as their childhood days.

This makes Felix and Chloe the only kids, of spoiled and rich background, with whom Adrien interacted.

Felix is shown to be good at manipulating people and keeping up appearances (potentially connected to insecurities within the family? Not confirmed), Chloe is openly mean and bullies others (with underlying insecurities also connected to her parents).

The only positive adult (if Gorilla isn't as involved and Nathalie had been solely Gabriel's secretary and not Adrien's caretaker since there was Emilie) in Adrien's life would be his mother, who also fell into a coma during Adrien's formative years (and still during a time where he's figuring himself and his emotions out: puberty), leaving him with his father.

Moving on, even if the writer's sometimes may not always successfully show Adrien being awkward in social interactions, it doesnt mean they dont exist.

This interaction between him and Marinette, asking for her autograph, very formal in his question, awkward in posture:

He's picked up on some speech patterns from his frequent interactions with Nino ("dude", "Hey man." "Totally dude.") showing he's, like many people, mimicking his friend's behavior and speech to grow more favorably in their eyes.

The same pattern can be observed with Gabriel and Adrien: Adrien adopts his father's formal speech whenever talking to him, since that appeases him.

Adrien has had very limited friendly interactions with his peers, romantic interactions are basically non-existent. The scenes where Adrien is being chased by his fans, who obsessively adore him, cant be linked to Adrien experiencing healthy romantic contact (Lila doesn't count since she only uses Adrien to further her goals). Marinette doesn't count since Adrien's isn't even aware of her romantic feelings for him. (Again, difficulties picking up social cues due to only ever being homeschooled > limited social contact with peers)

So no, in my humble opinion, Adrien sometimes doesn't understand other people's feelings not because he's a sociopath, but because he's an awkward kid with very little experience about making friends and having healthy relationships with them.

Relationships:

Let's be direct here: Gabriel is an abusive as*hole.

If the writer's wanted to show Gabriel struggling or having remorse for his actions being Hawkmoth and putting his son through danger, well... They blew it. "Gorizilla" was a 5 second reaction of Hawkmoth showing concern after letting Adrien fall from a skyscraper. Applause. After that? Not much.

Nathalie: Adrien likes, she takes care of him, his schedule, was the one to convince Gabriel to let him attend public school. There are moments in the show where she softens up towards Adrien, but always carries that air of professionalism on her to (possibly, assumption) not grow too close. Gorilla is...Gorilla, but at least the man tries with his nonverbal support and affectionate grunts. Lol.

Gabriel: He loves his father. It's his parent, after all. However, Adrien's reactions to him are vastly different than to how he reacts when thinking of his mother. He shows signs of fear (tensing up, growing obedient...etc.), he excuses his father's excessive controlling tendencies to just be "he's just worried about me", "that's the way he always was", "father cares and protects me". Adrien shows to be frequently disappointed with Gabriel, one of the first scenes being that Gabriel couldn't attend parent's day at school, Adrien was talking on the phone alone in the school hallway. He was genuinely surprised by the blue scarf his father gifted him (not knowing it was Marinette), since all he used to get were pens (again, not even from Gabriel, but Nathalie). This is my assumption but: Adrien has previously begged his father to go outside more or attend public school, but this time it worked only because Nathalie managed to convince him.

Friends from school: Nino is his best friend, Adrien seems to be good friends with Alya too, basically everyone in class, with varying degrees of closeness. Chloe is a childhood friend whom Adrien is fond of but also grows exasperated with and corrects her behavior if she's too harsh.

Marinette: likes and respects her, but can't read her well or at least when he thinks he's got her figured out, she claims the opposite. Marinette has been sending mixed signals, on one hand even making Adrien believe (and fear) they weren't friends. "Chat Blanc" contrary to popular belief, showed that Adrien is delighted at the prospect of Marinette being Ladybug (he'd severe doubts when Chloe or anyone else was brought up as a possible option).

Kagami: likes her, respects her, admires her fencing skills, learned to have fun hanging out with her and playing as kids usually do since she also has a controlling parent and they both know some ways/tricks around their boundaries to sneak off and meet their friends. Adrien and Kagami have similarities in that respect, Gabriel pushing Adrien to be a model, Mrs. Tsurugi pushing Kagami to be a master fencer.

Lila: At first defended her, was friendly towards her since she was a new student from overseas he sympathized because surely it would be lonely? The new girl would need a friend who supported her through all this things that were new for him too. However, as soon as he caught wind of Lila's schemes, he changes his tune. He feels uncomfortable around her overstepping his boundaries, expresses anger when Lila accused Marinette of crimes she didn't commit and even makes a deal with her to not bother Marinette again (but use him instead, doing photoshoots together...etc.) to keep her safe.

Age:

A 14-15 year old, having lost his mother, the only positive, healthy relationship in his life. Surrounded by a controlling father, not much free time, many extracurricular activities and being a superhero alongside Ladybug.

Some of the signs of being a sociopath include: Breaking rules and being impulsive.... Didn't Ladybug do those too?

Breaking the rules: (since LB and Marinette are the same) stealing phones, sneaking into places where she shouldn't, using the miraculous for personal gain (latest example: getting Kagami away from Adrien), giving Adrien the snake miraculous due to personal preference instead of drawing logical conclusions. Sneaked into the Agreste mansion.

Impulsiveness: Marinette's daily fantasies (sharing a future life with Adrien and their hamster-who-must-not-be-named), when Lila's "precious family heirloom necklace" was "stolen", Marinette was quick to include her classmates in the list of potential perpetrators for it (without ill intent, but still..)

You know who the real potential sociopath in the show is?

Gabriel

Some of you might include Lila too (since she fits all the criteria for being a sociopath), but the key difference is: Lila is still just a kid.

We don't know much about her family life. Just that her mother is busy with work, we don't know where her father is, who her friends were/if she even had them. She might be lying and manipulating people to follow her own agenda, but she thrives in attention, when people notice and praise her. In some aspects, that could've been Adrien. With one neglectful parent, a missing parent, no friends (prior to going to school)...etc. There is also a lot we don't know about her.
