-Soul overall doesn't typically mind you being shy

-I mean he's pretty laid back and isn't into the whole 'party scene'

-and neither are you so it works out perfectly!

-you both prefer to spend your days lounging around the house or going out on more private dates

-like motorbiking through the city or having a small dinner in a 'hidden gem' restaurant

-I'm totally convinced that Soul follows several blogs about 'hidden gem' places because he thinks they're cool and you like them better than big crowded places

-Soul isn't really a big fan of pda in the first place other than hand holding or guiding you around with a hand on your back or waist

-he just likes keeping things private (except when it comes to bragging about how awesome you are...that you cannot escape)

-he doesn't mind doing things like ordering for your necessarily

-he will think its endearing yet a little silly, he would rather you learn to overcome your fears instead of constantly reminding you

-but he won't particularly patronize you for it, just try and gently nudge you into ordering for yourself

"And they'll have the pasta with, wait babe which sauce did you want?"

-he will do small things like that which will put you on the spot but won't require you to directly give your order to the waiter

-it's ok, baby steps!!

-if you're shy in the slightest, I apologize deeply for every considering dating Black Star

-he is not only incapable of sharing spotlight, but just being quiet in general

-though you both find crowds to be unpleasant, he doesn't like being surrounded by "extras" while you find it hard to function due to so many being in close proximity

-and unfortunately without some explaining he doesn't get it at all

-by trying to discreetly ask him to order for you, Black Star will draw even more attention to the two of you

"Wait, why do you want me to order? Do you not feel good or something?" he says very loudly as neighboring tables turn to stare

-black star = having no sense of voice level control

-he will then get very huffy when you obviously get a little passive aggressive with him

-its probably Soul or Kilik that knock some sense into him since Tsubaki "doesn't know how having a girlfriend works" (he says to the lesbian)

-they probably set him straight and make it very clear that you being anxious isn't something your can control and you don't just do it because you want to

-he will be VERY apologetic after, fully understanding why you might be angry at him

-but after about 1,000 punishment sit-ups you come around and forgive him

-from then on he tries to keep your feeling in mind, trying to keep his volume in check, ordering ahead and eating somewhere private instead of ordering at the desk

-he still won't order for you unless he has to because "you can at least order your own food"

-but we take what we can get and this is definitely an improvement from before

Not sure if this has been asked before, but what the heck, I'll ask anyway.

Why do you think most kids struggle with learning to use magic? It seems like most people who leave Hogwarts barely improve from when they started. Your average wizard isn't all that impressive while prodigies like Tom, Lily and Dumbledore are few and far between.

Even decently competent wizards like the Golden Trio seem like a uncommon occurence. So, what gives?

Is it like a Star Wars midichlorian thing? Do wizards all have different sized MP bars? Or is the Hogwarts curriculum really just that bad?

Bold of you to call the Golden Trio decently competent on this blog, but alright.

We see the Hogwarts curriculum, it's... I don't know if I should say bad but it is what it is. What is it? Students aren't there to learn magic, they're there to learn key spells. That's it.

All the classes we see are "memorize X spell" if you do it wrong, you're probably flicking your wand wrong or saying it wrong. Will a professor help you? Fuck you, no. Just keep practicing. Will you ever learn the phonetics of how you generally should be pronouncing spells? No, fuck you.

Hogwarts isn't about learning how magic works, how to use the toolset you have, it's just memorization which means if you go outside that box you're looking pretty fucking smart.

And we're talking learning spells where "turning a raccoon dog into rubbish" and "turning a chicken into a cup" are somehow completely different from one another and no one will tell you why.

The other time is spent on essays that seem to be mostly "name X thing" and write as many words about it as possible because inches == better.

So, you can be perfectly intelligent, but if you have a bad ear or coordination you're going to suck as a wizard. There's also weird shit that seems to go wrong such as a) your wand just isn't working for you (see Neville and Ron) b) you lack confidence apparently (see Neville).

Further, because Hogwarts is designed so that Crabbe and Goyle will never fall too far behind, that means the pace is fucking slow. And if you're average/not super motivated, you can cost and get along just fine. You don't need to be super awesome amazing wizard which means a lot of people are just going to settle for passing their classes.

Greetings, fellow learners! It's your boy again, the one and only language guru. And today, we're going to talk about one of the most brilliant minds that ever lived: Stephen Hawking.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Oh great, another blog post about the most famous theoretical physicist of all time. Yawn." But hold up, my friends! This ain't your typical Stephen Hawking tribute. No, no, no. We're going to get a little more personal today.

You see, Stephen Hawking wasn't just a genius with a bunch of fancy theories about black holes and the universe. He was also a man with a sense of humor. Yes, you heard me right. Stephen Hawking was funny.

Now, I'm not talking about knock-knock jokes or anything like that. Stephen Hawking's humor was more subtle, but it was there. For example, he once said, "Life would be tragic if it weren't funny." And he wasn't just saying that because he was in a wheelchair. He truly believed that laughter was an essential part of the human experience.

But don't just take my word for it. Here's a little anecdote for you. One time, Stephen Hawking was supposed to give a lecture at a conference, but his speech synthesizer broke down. Instead of panicking, he calmly waited for a technician to fix it. And when the technician finally arrived, Stephen Hawking said, "I hope you've been keeping out of trouble." Classic.

So, what's the lesson here, folks? Well, it's simple. Even the smartest person in the world can appreciate a good laugh. And if Stephen Hawking could find humor in his own situation, then we can certainly find humor in ours.

So, keep on learning, keep on laughing, and keep on being awesome. And remember, as Stephen Hawking once said, "Look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Be curious."

There were pros and cons to staying at Charles’s school, Erik had discovered. For starters, there always seemed to be some kind of virus or cold going around, sick little kids running everywhere. It didn’t bother Erik too much but he did think they could do a little more to keep from getting sick and spreading their germs. On the plus side though, when his son inevitably caught whatever was going around that week, Erik got to be there for him and care for him the way a father should. Even when the thing going around is a stomach virus. - Peter catches the stomach virus going around the school and Erik takes care of his son.

I was on a long plane trip yesterday and forgot to pack a book so i ended up rereading the stars and their children because i had it downloaded on my phone.

while i was rereading it, i felt so immersed and it was almost like i was transported back to an earlier time, to when i was first reading the fic and i would get so excited seeing a post on this blog about a new chapter coming soon. your character work and writing is just so amazing, and i'm glad i got a chance to experience that again. i think stars- its world, its characters, their dynamics- is forever going to be one of my favorite works of writing

anyways, there wasn't much of a point to the post, i just wanted to share that :) i haven't been in tune with the mcyt community for a while now but i still have really fond memories of how it got me through lockdown and how it was my first big connection with an online community, and your fics were a big part of that, so thank you!

i think i'm gonna go revisit and reread some of your other works as well now because like i said, i just really like your style of writing and how intricately you develop your characters <3 i am sure the fics will be awesome!

I know I love the way you write but forget the details why until I'm reading your work again and just 😖💕 you write them so human and your dialogue is so natural and smooth, it's so so good. I do love Law, my lovely brooding bias, so my thoughts are mainly how you write him and gUAH!! Sometimes I feel like some authors condense him down to his tropes where you make him feel like a person and keep his intentions and motivations in mind. It's believable and I think in character of how your write him, at least in my mind it lines up perfectly with how I see him acting.

But my faaaaaav!! Was ✨Breathless✨!! cause OOAAAHGGGGGUHHH!!!! I love hands. I will not lie. Love em. Love his. And like it's so simple but such a tender intimate moment you wrote with the hand massage and mmmshdifudbhdufhf AND YOU WRITE HIM SO SNARKY AND CUTE!!!! AND WHEN HE LAUGHS!?!?!?!?
