it's truly how gaon establishes a VERYYYY clear hierarchy here with this one single dialogue.
"Mr. Kang told me."
It contains the nuance that Jung Sunah was NOT invited to the mansion as a whim but only after consideration & mutual agreement of both Yohan and Gaon. Gaon wanted her to know that her being in that house was partly to his credit. That Yohan considered him important enough to tell and quite possibly ask his permission (bcs he needed to. No way in hell would Gaon COOK for her otherwise and that's so funny to me. Big bad wolf kang yohan on his knees for gaon to entertain this lil rendezvous of his lmaooo)
"Mr kang told me that he was inviting you over."
Aka he's only just inviting you. You're a guest here. Someone who's temporarily here and WILL have to leave.
Me on the other hand? I'm part of this family here. I'm here living with them. I'm joining them for dinner.
His clear attempt to sneakily tell her where she stands and to know her limits with Yohan. Oof. And that too, when she's trying to advance on Yohan and Yohan cannot do anything but entertain the idea so he can lure her in his trap and here comes Mr. Husband like nah, bitch BACK OFF.
The accompanying passive aggressive smile is just cherry on top. It's giving "Get your claws off my man or help me God, I won't be responsible for what happens next."
I love this drama to bits.

SURPRISE! Did you think the day would come when we would cover Love Live on this blog? I didn't!
Yohane the Parhelion: Blaze in the Deepblue is the Metroidvania-style game based on the fantasy spin-off of Love Live Sunshine, but you probably don't care about that! Statistically speaking, our target audience is Bogleech readers who are deeply revolted by anime girls!
So why bring up? Why bring it up? The answer is 🐠 FUNNY FISH! It's Funny Fish Friday!
Since this game is set in an underwater temple, the enemies this game are all based on sea creatures, and that's cool! Again, statistically speaking, you probably think sea creatures are cool. I really liked seeing the variety of enemies when playing through this game, so I thought it'd be fun if I could share them with an audience of people who otherwise wouldn't care! None of the enemies really have names, as far as I'm aware of. But I'll do my Rubesty...?
Our first guy we encounter in the game is the sort of guy who emerges from the ground like the Zombies from Castlevania, and wow! A good first impression I think. It is sort of a squid mantle, if the mantle was also a cloak for a spooky sort of wizard! The way it doesn't really have a 'face' in the hood and the eye is below really makes it seem like a weird mimic creature. Cool!
They also get a tough lategame variant which looks like a mix between a flapjack and a vampire squid. You don't often see flapjacks be designed as scary!
---
Next is Barnacles! A whole clump of them, like a cake. They shoot Energy Balls at you. Is this what Barnacles can do if they combine their powers...? The top actually opens up, and it looks a lot like a sea urchin's mouth! So maybe it is some sort of naked urchin creature covered in barnacles? Game Theory!
There are also barnacles with Ice Powers. Like real life!
---
Let's give it up for Garden Eel!!!!
What a fine Garden Eel it is! Complete with the sort of grumpy face, and with the addition of two little arms that make it look like it's praying or maybe a bit shy. But it is mean! It also spits energy balls at you, then hides in the hole so you can't hit it. How very sneaky!
SO sneaky, in fact, that these eels have mastered the art of ninjutsu! The ninja eel shows up for a split second in one single room, before smoke bombing away. You'd have to use a time freeze power to get him, but I never got around to doing that. I don't have any beef with a ninja eel! I respect him and his training!
Did someone say CTENOPHORE? I hope you did, or my hearing has really gotten worse. This thing is a grade A ctenophore, only with a ring of Scary Teeth! A little scary to think of a ctenophore who could Bite you, but nonetheless this deserves a :ctenopog:!
---
Let's not forget Fish Vortex! Fish Vortex was the first guy to make me go 'wow, this game's enemies really are awesome!' So of course I had to put him at the top of the post! He is my selling point! I am selling all these enemies to you. For 4.99 a pop!
Anyway. This design is just so funny and cool at the same time. A swirling school of fish that leads into an endless dark abyss, and in the middle, a big eyeball. Also covered in fish. It shoots fish at you! Yay!
There is also a pink variant - it shoots fish that give you the Solitude status effect, which basically just makes Yohane too depressed to summon her friends. Meaning? They are Depression Fish! Maybe she just becomes so jealous of the unity and teamwork of these sardines. She's me like just for real! ^_^
---
isopot :)
---
This slug is an umbrella. That is ridiculous! Ridiculously EPIC! It does the opposite of shield you from rain, which is create rain, that kills you. But I would still want one as an umbrella.
---
When I first saw this thing, I thought it was some strange round Echimoderm I had never heard of. But upon further inspection (I actually asked Mod Chikako shh), it is obviously like a Brittle Star, with each arm folded round to form a wheel! How creative and fun! It even has a bunch of eyes like a starfish!
---
Last but not least- sushi! There are sushi guys and they are cute. They don't really do much and are typically found in their own rooms, so I'm not sure what the point of them is. But finding a funny walking sushi should be a reward in of itself, I guess! Look at their funny rice feet! Or the one with the roe eyes!
I happened to use fire magic on one of them and this happened. Oopsies...
Now I am sure you are saying, thank you for showing me all these funny enemies. But are there any cool bosses? Of course there are, me! What's a Metroidvania without cool bosses? So I shall show you my favorites without delay!
First is this freak (affectionate)! It is a sort of amalgamation of lots of different animals and I think it just looks plain cool! Two squid mantles combined into one, a bit of a sea angel shape, bug legs and of course a great big eyeball!
If it is not freaky enough for you, let it be known that the bug legs turn into big green skeleton hands, and it also keeps getting pinker, and it grows new eyes and then extra horns grow out of those eyes. If THAT is not freaky enough for you then I am sorry but I cannot do anything about that.
---
Now, how about a sampling of this Freaken Thang? It honestly doesn't seem that sea-creature themed, but it uses seashells so I guess it counts!
What is really neat is that this boss has two different forms, upside down and rightside up! When it is upside down it looks a bit like a Magolor type creature. And of course, I really like the flame thing in the middle as well, that really feels like a Kirby enemy or something! Like a wisp made of plasma!
---
Fans of Anomalocaris won't be disappointed by this one! It's a big Anomalocaris tank and boy is it cool! There's something for everyone here, whether you're an Anomalocaris purist or you've always wanted to see it turn into a sort of futuristic beast with a screen mouth that shoots lasers! It really is the future, zura...
---
After covering all these wacky creatures, I'm going to have to end it off with the final boss! What could the big bad, the ultimate boss of all these sea monsters even be, I wonder? Well, it's...
...a coelecanth. Just a big coelacanth! It is big and blue! And really, does it need to be anything else? It is such an honor to make the biggest ultimate boss a coelacanth. It is even pretty cute!! Think he's smiling! 😊
Uh oh! Is it still cute? I guess so. My first thought seeing this was of course the world-renowned tongue eating isopod, so I really hope it was an intentional reference! It probably just wants to shake hands. Still, a pretty simplistic design for our final boss, right?
Buu buu! Its true form actually looks like this! Actually, it's kind of doing too much. Like let's tone it down a little?
So!! We beat the mega ultra coelacanth, and now we can find out what his motivation is! And it is... that he is the memories of the people of the past or something. And they all didn't want to be forgotten, so they turned into fish monsters! But we forgive them!
It doesn't really matter. All the girlies gather around and sing him a song. Look how happy he is! I forgot I was talking about a Love Live game until now, actually. All's well that ends well, the end, et cetera! Hit it, Yohane! [imagine this is like the end of a kids movie where all the Love Live girls are having a dance party and there is a shot of the big coelacanth in jail and he's tapping his mouth fingers along to the beat]
#funky friday#yohane the parhelion#genjitsu no yohane#yohane the parhelion: blaze in the deepblue#not mario#mod f boy#yes it was me! i was the weeb mod who played the love live game!#and now i must burden you all!#i wrote this all in one go hooray for ritalin#tw anime girls

hello dear, hope you're doing well physically & mentally. lots of hugs for you!
i've been wondering about the physical touch in Gahan's dynamic especially. we all know how much physical abuse Yohan has gone through in his childhood, the kidnapping by Sunah, him willingly explode a whole ass room with bombs with him inside it too but pushing away his loved one out.
now compare to Gaon. this Bambi has better experience with physical touch in his life seeing as how he's comfortable leaning to Soohyun seeking comfort while grieving for the loss of his parents. reaching out to Yohan so easily when he sees Yohan woke up from a nightmare. how he reaches for Kkomi and put her on his lap, the lovely and respectful interaction with Elijah.
I always have this thought in my head that it would be tricky for them to have this physical touch without one misunderstood the meaning of one's action. personally i bounced back and forth of the idea Yohan can manipulate and charm ppl with his sex prowess. just because he knows being seduction and sex goes hand in hand with manipulation. It does seem like Yohan can be the type to do especially that the way he gazes at Gaon & Sunah. But we all know he has brother complex lol, while with Sunah he can get the rush of feeling powerful having someone around his level to play with. Either that idea or I think Yohan never has the chance to explore sex bcs it's too much physical touches and too much emotional investment in such a short period of time. Perhaps he can have sex while his sex partner is tied up, not touching Yohan but he's the one who has control to touch them, hence why the kinky dom Yohan exist. So i think domestic touches will be like taming stray or feral creatures. It would take a long time and patience on both sides to be in the safe space and trust.
now.. wdyt Gahan would be in if they were already in a romantic relationship. How would they interact? Who would initiate what? What difference would it be for them in domestic/ innocent interactions and in bed? I would like to know your thoughts on this one. I wish I can pour my detailed thoughts for this but i'm afraid to scare you off with my long-ass paragraphs hahaha it's been a while since I have conversations analyzing character's personality and their depths, just geeking out about them and it can be intense and intimidating for people if I pour all my thoughts out for these shit lol
I wish you well! Take your time on your recovery & in writing, we'll always be here for you!
I'm currently in pain from shoveling too much snow but, other than that, I'm pretty okay. Thank you for asking 💜
Physical touch is a very fascinating subject when it comes to these two, isn't it? Probably because there's so much tension between them.
Anyhow! I actually think that Yo Han has had a lot of sex but, like, only with the right people? He may have been abused as a child (and definitely has trauma and trust issues because of it) but he's also a very clever and intuitive man. And he'd know how to find partners he can have casual, enthusiastic, and fun sex with. Like, some random woman or man he meets at a bar who thinks he's hot? Definitely. Some random woman or man he meets in a professional setting who is clearly trying to gain something from having sex with him? Absolutely not.
Having sex is a very intimate act in some ways, but exactly how intimate depends a lot on the partner, the setting, and the circumstances. Yo Han would only go for people he's not feeling threatened by or knows he can control without exerting too much effort. But I also think he'd enjoy the challenge of wooing people. Like, how fast can he make this woman shed her clothes? What should he say to make this man swoon? Flirting would be a game for him, too, but "winning" just means he and the other person get to have sex so it's actually pretty harmless.
And I think he'd be fine doing it with strangers and letting them touch him. Because he doesn't actually seem averse to touch in the drama? Unused to it, yes — especially the tender kind — but not scared of or uncomfortable with it. He puts himself and his body through a lot, yes, but never in a reckless or self-destructive way. More often than not, he knows exactly what the risks are and deems them worth whatever payoff comes at the end (unlike Ga On who just... throws himself into danger without much thought).
One of the few (if not the only time) Yo Han seems genuinely scared of physical touch is when Ga On tries to comfort him after his nightmare. Which says a lot, I think. He's more scared of a touch meant to soothe than one meant to hurt, since he doesn't want to show weakness. He doesn't know how he will react to a touch like that and would therefore rather push it away.
But he doesn't even flinch when Sun Ah raises a hand to slap him, which is definitely a situation where some (but not all) who have been abused in the past would react. So, clearly, he's not as traumatised as he could have been, or has learned to control it enough for it not to show too much. To me, Yo Han doesn't seem averse to casual touching and does it quite a lot himself, like towing Ga On around at the gala, lightly patting Lawyer Ko's arm, offering his arm to Jin Joo at the other gala etc.
And I personally don't think there will be all that many misunderstandings between him and Ga On as to what a certain touch means? They both seem way too smart for that? There might still be general misunderstandings, of course, but not when it comes to that. If nothing else, the intent behind touches is something Yo Han had to learn long ago because you can't manipulate people only using sexual prowess. He needs more than one method and that means recognising what different touches mean, when to give them etc.
My personal headcanon for Yo Han is that he has no trouble using his sex appeal to manipulate when appropriate, but his strength lies in how he adapts to the situation, sometimes being kind and understanding, sometimes being firm and commanding, and, sometimes, being flirty and sensual.
The way he prefers to have sex is for fun, though, and he enjoys it a lot with the right people. But he'd never do it if he felt uncomfortable or threatened by his partner, and he's good enough at reading people that he'd know the other person's intentions long before the actual sex happens. So, for example, I don't think he'd ever want to have sex with Sun Ah even if he could tie her up. He'd be too suspicious to actually enjoy it xD
To me, Yo Han is the kind of man who has a lot of trauma, but has also worked a lot on overcoming said trauma. If he did so in a healthy way I will leave unsaid, but I don't think he'd allow himself to be wary of other people's touch. I think Yo Han would be frustrated by his own limitations if he could only have sex with people while they're tied up, simply because he's uncomfortable with them touching him. That's too big of a weakness — something someone could exploit. And he'd train that out of himself as soon as possible. His whole thing is that he's unshakeable and impenetrable and that's a choice — something he's putting effort into being. And so I, personally, can't see him allowing himself to have that kind of "flaw."
As a friend of mine said: "He's a man even more in control of himself than he is others."
That said, I think he enjoys tying people up because it gives him added control and makes it more fun to play with his victims partners. So I'm all for Dom!Yo Han — he is one in every fic I've written so far — I just think he does that because he likes it, not because it's the only way he can have sex.
And, to be entirely honest with you? I don't think Yo Han needs to tie people up in order to control them in the bedroom. I'm pretty sure that man can make his partners do pretty much anything he wants them to, without using a single tool or restraint. Because that is the kind of Dom he is.
ANYHOW. To your questions! (boy did I get derailed there for a while)
Ga On is definitely the cuddly one. Like, once he gets comfortable, he's the one who gives and asks for hugs, will walk up behind Yo Han and wrap his arms around him, snuggle up on the couch, put his head in Yo Han's lap etc. Because I definitely agree with you that the casual, domestic touches will be more difficult for Yo Han. He's used to giving some of them, like pats on the shoulder, a supportive hand, fixing Ga On's clothes — practical things. But the ones that are just because? Clearly, that's out of his wheelhouse and he's too prideful to ask for them.
Again, not because he's broken, scared, or doesn't understand them, but simply because he's not used to them. And he doesn't like feeling insecure or appearing weak, so he wouldn't risk asking and making a mistake.
So it'll fall upon Ga On to offer them, which he of course does. He's a pretty physical person with the people he trusts, provided that politeness and such allows it. Like, clearly, one of the reasons why Ga On doesn't touch Yo Han much in the drama is due to the workplace hierarchy, the fact that Yo Han is older (and it's considered rude to touch someone older without their permission), and just Yo Han's overall... Yo Han-ness. But once Ga On gets free rein?
Yo Han won't know what hit him.
But it'll take time for them to get used to it, yes. Like, just teaching Yo Han how to return casual hugs that aren't in a life-or-death situation is going to take a while. But he'll get used to it eventually and while I don't think he'll ever be the one to initiate certain things — like the more cuddly hugs that might make him look clingy — he'd always reciprocate when Ga On does.
Yo Han is a little too prideful to ask for cuddles, but he'll graciously agree to them when Ga On asks him to give them.
(He and Komi have that in common, I guess)
As for sex, that depends? I think they can both initiate it, but Yo Han enjoys it more when Ga On does so, just because he likes seeing Ga On horny and desperate xD Yo Han is definitely the one in charge, though. That's not to say that Ga On can't snatch control from him or throw him off-balance from time to time, but probably only during brief moments when he's being particularly cheeky and bratty. I think they both enjoy the push-and-pull — the fact that Ga On challenges Yo Han is a part of the thrill — but are more comfortable when Yo Han is in control.
Especially since Yo Han is very good at it.
All that said, I do think — and this might be an unpopular and scandalous opinion — that Yo Han could, eventually, let Ga On top him. But we're talking years down the line, when they're so comfortable with each other that there are no secrets or doubts. Because, yes, Yo Han is a man who prides himself on having control but, eventually, he's also going to realise that having control and having power isn't necessarily the same thing. And being in charge and having control isn't necessarily the same thing, either. Ga On has a tremendous amount of power over Yo Han despite not being in charge or in control the majority of the time.
I mean, there's a reason why they say that the sub is the one with the real power since they're the ones willingly handing it over to someone else. And if they can give it, they can also revoke that privilege — and there is absolutely nothing the Dom can do about that. In that situation, the Dom is, quite literally, powerless.
And I think, especially as he gets older and softer, Yo Han would realize that trusting Ga On to top him is, in fact, a sign of his own strength. And I don't mean that in a "real men know how to bottom" kind of way. But in a "I love this man and I trust him and myself enough to let him have this power over me because that, in itself, means I have power."
But, again, that's several years into their relationship and 99,9% of the time, Yo Han is the one topping. But, every once in a while, Ga On can be the one in charge. As a treat.
... I may have gotten off track again.
But I'd say that's about the gist of it? There are, of course, more specific examples and details, too.
Yo Han is definitely the one doing most of the dirty talk, but Ga On will not hesitate to use his doe-eyes to his advantage and say the most kinky, outrageous things sometimes, just for the pleasure of watching Yo Han bluescreen. I also think that Yo Han will develop a habit of burrowing his nose in Ga On's hair when they're hugging/cuddling. And, as I've mentioned in a previous post, Yo Han is the little spoon 90% of the time. I also think that Ga On is going to be pretty shy and prudish when it comes to talking about sex and anything relating to it (at least at the beginning), but kinky as fuck when it comes to the actual acts. Like, he can't say "cock" without wincing, but he'll gladly let Yo Han tie him up and fuck him so roughly and thoroughly he's covered in bruises afterwards.
I really could go on but then we'd be here forever and I have work tomorrow x'D
So I'm hoping you got something out of this long rant! Thank you so much for the ask! I admit that I don't often spend time thinking about fictional characters' sex lives, but I apparently have a lot of opinions regardless. Though, to be honest, I think Yo Han and Ga On is the couple where I've had to think about it the most, since physical closeness (of both the sexual and more innocent kind) is extremely important for their dynamic. So yeah.
Take care, darling! 💜
#Amethystina Replies#fr-wiwiw#I genuinely had to think on this one for a while before I was able to answer#A lot of things are already stored in my brain somewhere#But the tricky part is formulating it into a somewhat coherent reply#And I still don't know if I managed#I always feel like I forget so many details and aspects x'D#I stand by that thing about Yo Han bottoming btw#I think that would be wonderful character development for him#To eventually be able to trust someone that much#And you KNOW Ga On would be amazingly considerate#So yeah#That's my headcanon#And you can pry it from my cold dead hands

I just had a random NSFW thought about kind of post-canon TDJ, where Gaon is still in Korea and uncertain whether Yohan would ever want to have him by his side again. Gaon misses Yohan so much but he cannot reach out to him, thinking he would endanger all of them (his chosen family and himself) if he did contact them too soon.
ficlet or stream of consciousness incoming:
What about Gaon, who starts to frequent swinger clubs and other kink-friendly spaces where he doesn't really look for a partner or to fuck/get fucked. (He is just there to witness familiar scenes - even if Yohan and him never actually touched each other in all the ways Gaon would have wanted to be touched by Yohan). What about Gaon wearing a collar (which he bought on a whim) around his throat, remembering another man's, Yohan's, hand wrapped around it, tight enough to cut of his breathing but not tight enough to render him unconscious. It was meant as a threat, as a warning, a promise. (Sometimes, when Gaon touches himself, he puts his hand there, encircling his own throat and wishing it weren't his own hand at all.) What about Gaon while he's at the club, being asked to join a person, a couple or even a whole group but always ever ending up declining before he's pointing at the metal circle close to his trachea, indicating he is already taken by someone else. (Because Gaon is taken, his heart really does belong to someone else already.)
...I have to turn this into a whole fic now, don't I?
edit/update: here's the link to the fic

zero context WIP game! thanks for the tags @killerandhealerqueen and @fourth-quartet 🥰🥰
i'm playing fast and easy with the rules of this one (which you can find here). instead, you'll find numbered snippets from a bunch of WIPs i am 75-90 per cent done but ambivalent about which to update first. gahan readers, what interests you most?
--
1. even gods can't change the past
gaon stares listlessly at the stickers lining the base of the night lamp. despite repeated disinfectings, they haven't come off, dinosaurs, trucks, sparkly muffins. things he had put there to make their hospital stay livelier.
'i guess we're even now,' soohyun says, quiet and mostly to herself.
gaon thinks for a while. 'chief jo?' he guesses. soohyun had a girlish fascination with her mentor that in turn made the normally gruff man go tongue tied.
'what -- no. jishin,' she says as if this explains anything. when gaon looks over at his wife sitting on the bed beside him, she looks guilty, sad, and relieved. the guilt is most prominent.
'what --' says gaon, having to swallow because his mouth is suddenly dry. 'are you talking about?'
----
2. unnamed modern strangers in a bar au
the stranger backs gaon up until he hits the brick wall behind them, none too gently. but the man pays no attention to this. he looks at gaon with desire both ferocious and unyielding.
'this husband of yours,' says the stranger angrily, sliding his hands into gaon's thick hair and keeping them there. 'you talk about him like he walks on water but he's only a man.'
'he's my world,' replies gaon breathlessly, eyes fixed on the man's mouth. then the stranger is kissing him.
---
3. omega spin-off of enantiomers
gaon spins in yohan's arms so they're back to chest, before sensuously dragging himself down yohan's front until he's crouched at yohan's feet. yohan's hands tighten around his when gaon looks up at him from the floor, smilingly and with heat.
'that look is why i put a baby inside you the first time around,' yohan says, stroking gaon's hands. there's a hint of warning to his tone. and desperation. he can't be held responsible for what he does if gaon keeps this up.
gaon laughs delightedly.
of course, that's when the bedroom emits a wail that filters down the hallway and into the living room.
--
4. everything everywhere all at once
soohyun's eyebrows go up in shock. 'you still love him,' she says accusingly. 'not just that -- you want to go back to him. your parents died because of kang yohan!' she yells this last part, stomping her feet in enraged helplessness.
'good people die without good reason,' gaon replies, feeling his cheeks redden.
she looks at gaon like he's grown another head. 'are you listening to yourself right now? you'll forgive kang yohan, and for what? he broke your heart. you were devastated for weeks!'
'i'm not selfless, soohyun-yah. not like you,' gaon replies, voice cracking. he searches for the words, pulling them from deep inside him. 'after appa died, i kept the restaurant open to prove that i could. helping people came after. but i can't do it anymore. i can't keep dragging on like everything is normal when seeing how fucked up everything is is destroying me.'
soohyun visibly swallows her words, letting gaon finish.
'i hurt,' gaon whispers, 'all the time. i'm so angry. it's like looking into an abyss but now it looks back at me. being with yohan makes me feel safe, like i'll survive this. like there's more to living than just pain.'
soohyun hunches over at the knees and hugs herself. 'why does it have to be kang yohan?' she says miserably.
'i don't know.' gaon approaches, choreographing his intent. he pulls her into a hug when she doesn't resist. 'it's fucked up. i'm fucked up but i miss him terribly.'
'what if he breaks your heart again?' she sniffles against gaon's chest, voice going flat with inevitability.
'he might,' gaon admits, squeezing her in final consolation. 'but i'll go my whole life regretting it if i don't try.'
--
5. elevator troubles
‘bujangnim?’ gaon asks, knocking on the heavy wooden door for appearance’s sake before striding in. but yohan’s not there.
the sound of his harsh breathing fills the office. he makes his way over to where late afternoon sunlights spills through the floor to ceiling windows and stares at the traffic twenty stories below, tiny trucks and tinier people.
he's livid. if he could, he would shatter every single window of this ministry building with the frequency of his rage.
a hand slips over his eyes, cooling their heat and blocking his vision. a body follows behind.
‘shhh,’ rumbles yohan in gaon’s ear, moulding himself around gaon, silken wool and heat and support everywhere. his other hand lands on gaon's chest, over gaon's fast beating heart.
gaon’s only reaction is a hitch in his breathing. his muscles remain tightly coiled, his hands clenched in fists at his sides.
'he told me that my parents would be proud of me for doing the right thing,' gaon says with long pauses between into the red blackness. 'when he -- when he was the one who helped doh young choon --' he breaks off with a stifled sound, enraged.
yohan's joyless chuckle rumbles through gaon's body. 'min jung ho is a viper.' his inflection doesn't change when gaon grabs his wrist. 'down to his venomous words.'
'what gives him the right,' gasps gaon, eyes turning wet with frustrated tears under yohan's palm. he presses back into yohan's body.
'none,' says yohan simply. 'just as he has no right to dispense justice.'
'i want to hurt him, so, so badly,' gaon confesses, pulling yohan's hand away.
‘we will,’ says yohan.
future promises aren't enough. gaon whirls around. 'now, yohan.' he pushes the unresisting older man backwards until yohan's thighs hit the heavy oak table. 'i want to destroy him now.'
---
6. my heart goes back to you, i just don't know
trigger warning, beware.
jung sunah pulls gaon’s face up with a fistful of silky, dark hair. gaon’s pupils are blown wide. yohan catches a peek of red tongue as gaon swallows, sweat beading along the younger man’s temple. yohan knows this expression from when he looked into the mirror all those weeks ago after jung sunah had ambushed him.
she drugged gaon.
yohan watches with a foreboding feeling as jung sunah simply stares at gaon. the hunger on her face is…not good. she cocks her head, hand traveling to gaon’s panting mouth. yohan watches her fit two perfectly manicured fingers, nails painted rouge into the seam of gaon’s mouth; feels somehow worse when gaon doesn’t resist.
‘he’s nothing! a means to an end,‘ barks yohan. he sounds affected because he is. he knows what’s happening here, what jung sunah is making him a bystander to.
she ignores this. ‘you know, i never liked giving blowjobs,’ she says conversationally. ‘they’re demeaning. the power differential is obvious. men enjoy it.’ she tilts gaon’s face up using the fingers in his mouth.
gaon pants heavily, eyelashes turning wet as he blinks slow and hard. ‘seeing kim pansanim on his knees makes me understand the appeal of it.’
‘is that why you brought him here?’ yohan asks, thinking quickly. ‘to get to me?’
‘you put your hand on his shoulder on live television,’ she replies in a faraway voice, but yohan can read her now.

Yes, now I'm thinking it would be nice if Yohan and Taehoon just met like it's nothing
Like Taehoon's just goofing around as he usually does and he spots Yohan and his puppies
"Yo, can I pet your puppies?"
And Yohan's like, "Sure, be gentle."
"Can I give them snacks?"
"Why do you have dog snacks? Do you have dogs too?"
"Nah, I just like giving them to strays so I carry some. For cats too."
"Okay, go ahead."
"Do you want some too?"
"Pet.. snack?"
And Taehoon just pulls out some candy bars out of his pockets.
"What.. why do you have so many? You're not a perv are you?"
"Hey, fuck you, man. My dad teaches taekwondo to kids and I bribe them when they get rowdy. Or like reward when they behave well."
"Oh. Can I have two?"
"..but are you a good boy?"
"Wanna get punched."
Taehoon cackling, "Can I take pictures of your puppies? I'll give you five."

⸻ 𝒂 𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔
The day is December 26th, 2016. In these moments that lead into the interrogation, the rook finds himself at odds with everything and everyone. It is a pivotal moment that will change him more than he will ever know.
When Jin Yohan was young, his father sat him down and gave him a talking to. It wasn't something he did this time, but a lesson given for posterity. "Never talk to the cops", he said. "even if you think it's right to tell the truth." As a child, he never quite understood. After all, his parents would not tell him of any of the potential shady backend dealings and insider trading that his undeveloped mind could not yet comprehend. It was an entirely preventative measure — a lesson.
It is strange how muddled his head gets as he waits his turn. He battles against morals that suddenly want to appear, knowing giving into them would betray everything he fought to be a part of. How annoying, he muses internally, leaning back in the stiff chair. He keeps his arms folded, a guard.
The grief has finally caught up to him and now he can hardly manage to breathe or speak straight. Lack of sleep and food shows clearly on his face. The rings around his eyes are red and inflamed, deep with signs of mourning and regret.
The young man had been holding back the waterworks for the entirety of Hyungseo's missing period, and it only culminates when he is told that he is dead. Just as he feared. He has barely been able to function properly since then. Everyone knows it, too. How could they not after the way he shouted and shed an embarrassing amount of tears in front of everyone?
"All of you! All of you are responsible for what happened!" he howled, his rage only spurred on by a spat between other members shortly before. Something inside of Jin Yohan snapped. The mask of sanity slips and he releases every bit of vitriolic spit they all knew he had in him. He does what he can before he's led away — before he can raise his fists and turn the tragedy into a disaster. "Mark my words," he adds as he's pulled, a sentence ( among other words ) he soon forgets when everything goes dark. "My blood will be on your hands next."
His father reminds him again of what to do the evening before the interrogation, hand firm and unwavering. It had been frequent ever since Yohan's little show at Hyungseo's funeral; despite his mother's shocking pleads to take it easy on him this time. ( And even though he thrashed with all his might, that man always ended up beating him back into submission. It never mattered how good of a fighter Yohan was. He always let him because he deserved it. It is ultimately that bastard of a father that forces leads him to give into the whims of what others want him to do. )
As he shifts in the chair, the wooden joints squeak. He rubs his cheek, then his arm, the space above his heart. Everything hurts.
However, there are some things that must be done. Withholding information isn't necessarily lying, and giving snippets of the truth isn't necessarily ratting the entire club out. Even so, Yohan needed quite the convincing to not spill every secret, every piece of information in great detail. He sits here overwhelmed, exhausted, demoralized. No amount of standing like a zombie before Hyungseo's memorial would bring him back.
The detectives finally file their way into the room one by one, gently shutting the door behind them. It is not the first nor last time Yohan would be questioned in this way. His eyes follow them until they take their place across from him.
"Jin Yohan," the man speaks first, flipping through the file he has on him. He turns the page over and shoots him a smile. It is quite obvious both of them are making their attempts to soothe his nerves. They must have heard about his little series of outbursts. "How are you doing today?"
Yohan glances at the window behind them before making eye contact. He isn't so sure of himself — his mind in ruin. "As fine as I can be," he clears his throat midway to keep his voice from shaking. If only they all could see him now. "I'm tired."
"Did you have a good Christmas, Yohan? Get any nice gifts?" The ice breaking is too obvious now.
"No... Not really." The answer is firm and cold. His eyes avert so he doesn't begin to tremble like a leaf thinking about the night before. This is an interrogation, not a therapy session. "So... what do you want to know? It's about... H-hyu...—"
"Hyungseo. That's correct. We won't keep you too long. Don't worry. It must be hard for you. We only need you to answer a few questions."
#calendar ( 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟔 )#cm:breaking#cw physical abuse#man is officially perma unhinged after dec 20 hits but that's ok#posting before i get to the questions bc timeline things!! for my own benefit and also to provide further context#as to how he was during this ... week or so

From the sugar baby fic. Jinjoo and Gaon are at a very fancy spa.
“I’m going to ask you something invasive,” she said. Gaon laughed and said “OK.” He felt tipsy. “The suits, your watch.” She gestured around them. “This whole thing.” “Yeah?” “You’re poor and this is your first job.” Gaon blinked, not following Jinjoo’s line of thought. Something terrible occurred to him. “I’m not corrupt!” “Omo! That’s not what I was implying!” She put her hand over his. “Gaon. I think you’re a sugar baby.” Gaon frowned. “I’m guessing by that adorably confused face your patron hasn't explained the deal to you yet.” She squeezed his hand. “Hoobae, that woman wants to have sex with you.” “What woman?” “The woman giving all this stuff.” “A woman isn’t giving me this stuff.” “A man is?” Jinjoo looked delighted. “The spa is on Chief Kang’s card.” Jinjoo sat back in her chair. “Oh.” She looked chastened. Almost crestfallen. She pouted and then said, “Well, what about the watch?” “I borrowed it from Chief Kang.” “You’ve been wearing it for months.” “Uh, yeah. I guess I have.” “The clothes,” she prompted. “They’re his.” “They’re his? He dresses you?” “I mean — not like — not like a doll — he picks them for me from his closet before we go out.” Jinjoo narrowed her eyes. “Your everyday suits are awfully nice now.” “Oh. I think that they belonged to his late brother.” “Hmm.” “Didn't he give you a dress?” “One dress,” she conceded. She sat back in her chair and drummed her short nails on her glass. “Is there something else? Something you’re not telling me?” “Like what?” “Like … Does he pay your rent?” “No!” Gaon’s voice was too high. Too loud. Jinjoo leaned forward. “But?” Gaon hung his head. He couldn’t look at Jinjoo. “I live with him.” “You live with him!” Jinjoo put her hands on the table. She looked like she was barely restraining herself from smacking the tabletop. “Kim Gaon! Do you have your own room?” “Yes! I sleep alone! In my own room!” Jinjoo’s eyes were wild. “Oh, so you sleep alone,” she said, mockingly. “Yes!” “In your own room.” “Yes!” “In the house of your sexy older boss who dresses you and gave you a watch worth what I paid for law school and who dropped god only knows how much on this spa day at the drop of a hat?” “I — I can't be a sugar baby.” “Gaonie. Listen to yourself.” “I’m not.” Jinjoo reached for Gaon’s hand again, taking it in both of hers. “Gaon,” she said, seriously. “Kang Yohan wants to fuck you so bad.” “Sunbae, please stop talking.” Gaon withdrew his hand. Jinjoo sighed heavily, put her elbows on the table and her chin in her hands, grumbling to herself. “What?” “I thought you didn’t want to talk to me anymore,” she sneered. “I said ‘I may be a giant lesbian but even I wouldn’t turn down Kang Yohan.’ Gaon, the man looks like he could fuck you inside out.” She took a sip of her juice and then side-eyed him. “That was confidential.” “The lesbian thing, I’m assuming,” said Gaon. “Not the inside-out fucking.” Jinjoo rolled her eyes.

BEHOLD: BLANK LOVE LIVE SHIPPING WHEELS FOR YOUR EVERY POSSIBLE CHAOTIC MULTISHIPPER NEED. GO FORTH AND HAVE FUN
some notes regarding formatting decisions below the readmore!
yes i felt the need to include every project. school idol musical live tv drama is coming out right now so all of our girls are about to be accessible to us! yay!!!!
rivals or extremely significant side characters (hi sachi) are included in the main wheel. because i love them. also because they're extremely shippable.
included every possible side character i could think of within a reasonable age range of the main characters. tried to format them close to characters that they might be shipped with.
(bonus note regarding above: yes i want all of the moms to kiss eachother too. however thats not the point of this so that's why i didn't include any adult characters. mom nishikino x mom minami. kaoruko x misato crackship?? MADOKA X KYOKA. CAN ANYONE HEAR ME HELLO I LOVE WOMEN)
yohane the parhelion separate from sunshine because it's a different cast and the characters feel distinct. god knows i have way different ships for it too.
color key left blank so you can come up with as many categories / levels as you want! include notps if you want. or don't. if you want to font match this part, i used century gothic!
i literally don't care if you credit me (all i did was painstakingly pick out art i liked and arranged nice circles) but if you want to that's super cool!!
sorry i don't have any cross-project shipping available through this. maybe if you include notes and thoughts you can talk about it! does anybody in this thread smoke nicomari
okay that's it i hope you all have fun!! i will probably post my own takes soon <3
#love live#laura ll posting#love live!#doing my best not to spam tag. sorry. hi everyone!!!#if your charts look like insane unhinged spiderwebs like mine i NEED to know your thoughts behind every line. thank you for your time.#edit: i forgor to add isla and penelope to nijigasaki but i fixed it. if u saw the version without them no u didnt <3

I miss talking about Gahan. so imma just ramble here instead.
i've been thinking again about who would say I love you first between them. The first time I know Gahan, it's an automatic to think "oh this lovely bratty twink would be the one to say those 3 words first". But then the more i dive into their characters, it would make more sense if Yohan is the one to say those words first.
Here's why, according to me, also warning this is gonna be long:
Yohan never heard those words spoken genuinely to or for him. Perhaps the ones who say it to him would be Isaac (of course), his wife (Cecilia is her canon name for me 😂), and little Elijah. What child wouldn't say I love you or I like you to their favorite person. While on the other hand, Yohan has the most experience in tragic relationships (romantic or platonic or with himself) in regards to feelings. That's why he's the sociopath we all know and love and thirst for. That's why he has a stark and clear difference between genuine ILY or not. He will rarely or perhaps never say those words to anyone unworthy of his true feelings. Elijah will of course have the VIP pass despite their relationship straying away bcs of the things Yohan does to protect his child (yes, Elijah is pretty much his niece & child, you can't take that away from me). His act of service for Elijah speaks greatly how much he loves her, he literally has done and will do everything in his power to protect her or his loved ones (that includes ridiculously pretty and hot headed Bambi that almost stabbed him with tears in those doe eyes).
Now, Gaon I'm sure grew up in a very loving family. He had healthy relationships with his friends and family too I'm sure, before fate decides to take his family and his sanity away from his life. Thankfully he has Soohyun, —no matter how much hatred we have for her, let's be real Gaon survived his days bcs of her too— both he and Yohan are big empathetic too hence why they do what they do albeit unhealthy & reckless most of the times. Remember Gaon also has a lot of fear to control him, the opposite of Yohan who reigns his fear wonderfully that's why people believe in him to do great things, and he does! He's unbeatable and always comes back on top if he's defeated. There's a reason Gaon turns to him too to do dirty things despite his disliking towards this particular decision of Yohan. There's a reason why Yohan is a beacon of light burn so bright and blinding whilst Gaon is the gentle light of hope. But again, Gaon is controlled by fear. He might and possibly fall in love first unknowingly towards Yohan once he does realize it, his first instinct is to hide it ESPECIALLY from Yohan. Why? His empathy is working towards guilt and fear. Now I won't dive into the guilt, it would be hard admittedly, bcs the guilt and fear is woven tightly together, but Gaon knows and is able to connect the dots Yohan doesn't have healthy & great childhood experiences. We know Gaon is great with strays, strays love him, they gravitate close to him. You know why else something or some people might gravitate towards an individual? They either resonate the same bad energy or they resonate positive energy. And what is Gaon? A broken stray with a warm heart. He's in-between. That's why he's confused. That's why Soohyun protects him, so protectively it becomes suffocating in a different way than Yohan's. How many people have approached him with good intentions, wanting to protect him but also ruin him at the same time? He doesn't know this. But he is besties with fear. The traumas he went through is not something a soft hearted person can overcome in a short amount of time. Yohan is built different, as we are all aware. The areas that makes Gaon weak and tumbles are the areas where Yohan will thrive and become much stronger.
So does the opposite thing. If softness and vulnerability makes Gaon strong, it will be Yohan's downfall. The proof is crystal clear the moment he realizes Gaon is his liability the first few episodes.
To me, all this is because they're not familiar with the unfamiliar emotions. Yohan with vulnerability and Gaon with reality. But both roots in the same topic, pain.
I'm sure Yohan has his fair share of vulnerable moments he's aware of but I think he never really has time to sit to mull over and accept it within safe space or reasonable time, he's always racing against time, therefore very little window of chance for him to actually be friends with his vulnerability. It's more like something he needs to protect behind his back while not noticing the innerchild he protects is bleeding behind him. The intention is good but it's not the best way.
Gaon on the other hand. His people pleasing trait is what drives him forward yet at the same time, he forgot that giving yourself too much to people will only hurt him just as much. The amount you give yourself to others is how much pain you will get. He recoils everytime this happens, giving mixed signals to people involved. His father figure (i forgot the bastard's name) experienced this. Gaon is supposed to be an enemy to Yohan but then when he's given the reality he thinks is the truth, he turns his back to the professor and into the sugar daddy's lap willingly (with manipulation involved from Yohan ngl who am I joking).
Now I just remember the professor's name, Min Jungho, you bastard of a skinny leech, kudos to the actor to make me feel angry.
Anyway— See Gaon is familiar with bad things that come with truth in reality. He's skeptical of his own reality while sprinkles positive truths to other's reality. He's so positive about Yohan, the Kang-abyss-Yohan. He even stood up for Yohan, quite literally, when Soohyun and Min Jungho said bad (facts) things about our resident devilish handsome gremlin. Even he defended Yohan when Elijah is so negative to her uncle (dad). There's few times I'm aware where Gaon is positive about his life, his future, that also is accompanied with anxiety in his part. The moment he does embrace what he think as positive, such as kissing Soohyun (sigh), she died.. in his arms no less.
This is why, it makes sense to me if Gaon locks his confession and swallows it down. Even tho his actions speak much, much louder. To me, Yohan would have the biggest probability to confess his feelings first (should the time & conditions align) and if his ego doesn't get in the way. It would help Gaon to open up, albeit with denial at first and Yohan would still be patient with this clumsy Bambi.
This, admittedly is the simple version, imo, of their miscommunication and suppressed feelings. I will tell you, these things I just wrote don't involve much of any variant of things that can make them go sideways or upside down. Such as, if they're faced with a certain problem, will my analysis stay true? What if they're in an alternate universe? Surely somethings will change and certain things will stay, but what? What if Gaon decides to be brave (or stupid and never learn) and confess anyway? What if, it will always lead to "disaster" the moment he's brave enough to take action? Or what if he decides to be brave, in means to throw his feeling away and not look back anymore yet Yohan reciprocates? Will he still be in denial or would he embrace it gladly albeit with fear when the other shoe is gonna drop? When will Yohan die? "Yohan is going to die the moment I confess, idk when, but I want to have a chance with him no matter how little time we have. I don't care anymore". Would he thought of that?
There's a lot of probability that can happen if I take out my feelings from these characters we all love dearly. Hence why we have fanfiction at our disposal for writers, artists, creators, readers, to enjoy whichever alternate or canon we can consume to satisfy our hunger. We need more domestic shit and porn of them if I may be bold— ahem. I am an artist who can draw these but I'm also an enjoyer, feed me pls I beg you. Give me more fuel, I'm greedy for them 🥲 The joy and pain being in a small community hahahah I love it all the same. I love all your edits, your analysis, the gifs, the fanfics, the drabbles, the delulu posts, everything!
I think this is one of the reasons why @amethystina story, Who Holds The Devil, is such a delicious treat for me. In some parts, most parts so far, her portrayals of Gahan's characteristics are similar to what I have in mind. And it's wonderful to see the different perspectives too from her take on their characters, it gives me more insight and more "out of my mind plot". I'm glad either way.
I have a few fanfic wips stored in my phone, 1 of them has this specific scenario where Yohan would be the one who's gonna confess first. And of course I'm making them explore their sexual experiences like a teenager and a deranged man. The perks of me never experienced any of those sexual things myself is that I can fantasize all I want and not get disappointed (yet, hopefully not) by reality lmao. TMI, my apologies.
Will these fics ever go into the light? I hope so, I just haven't invested my time into writing again as I've been investing them into my main hobby & job as an artist. I hope I can go back writing again when I'm able to set separate time for it. I want to share you some hot sexy and angsty love with this GaHan ship. There's always gonna be smut and giggling delivered by me to your screen if not tears and heartbreak like my previous Gahan break up fic ehe.
But anyway, I will stop my rambles here as I have to go back into my art commission. I need to proceed with the sketch revision before I dive into playing Monster Hunter World again
As always, thankyou if the lot of you are reading all this. If not have a great day anyways! 💖
#artists on tumblr#fris#the devil judge#kim gaon#kang yohan#gahan#tdj#just rambling about gahan#because i fucking miss them#i miss them so much help#who between these two will break#and confess their love first#before going back to constipated again

Lookism characters as father p 3
Dg ‘James Lee’ (kang dagyum)
I feel like there might be a little nervousness once you become pregnant. Out of everything he can handle as the first gen leader, kpop star and all there’s still be some anxiousness whether that be from you or him
Mostly because your relationship as is is hidden, he knows you’d be hounded by his fans if they knew about you. Let alone if they found out he had a kid? Thats just stirring for all kinds of trouble
He’d definitely try to take some time off when your kid is first born. Tell his fans it’s a much needed ‘vacational song writing trip’
He’d definitely spoil his kid too tbh
Like shit tons of outfits, jewelry, toys. He does try to spend time with the kid of course but he’s very busy so it’s partly to make up for the time lost since he can’t always be there
Ok but if he had a daughter imagine him writing a song about her, so many people think he’s talking about some girl he fell in love with or at least that’s what the song seems like it’s supposed to be about just another love song
But you know better. You listen to the lyrics a little closer and you can tell he’s talking about his baby girl at home with a ‘beautiful mama at home’
Johan seong (seong yohan)
I think he’s also on the doesn’t want kids train but that’s also partly due to his trauma and his eyesight.
He knows he got it from his mama and it almost seems like it affected him at a younger age than it did his mom. What if it’s even faster on his kid? What if his kid ends up born blind?
Once you’re kiddo is born though and he gets to hold them for the first time he made a silent vow to himself even if he’s old and blind he will spend every day protecting his kid
You know how sometimes animals/pets will take in their owners new babies like their own kids and almost help ‘raise them’ because of pack mentality?
Eden absolutely does that for your guys’ kiddo. The four of you would be taking a nice walk to the park and anytime someone got close to your kids stroller Eden would immediately put herself between the stroller and the person
Family photos with Eden would be so cute oml
There’s at some point you had walked in on johan holding your kiddo up, wrapped up in his old god dog jacket just dead face serious “you. You, are god dog.” And held them up like that monkey from the lion king while Eden howled
Ryuhei
He really never thought he’d be in a committed relationship let alone a father. Especially with how Mitsuri always turned him down, his ‘little guy’ problem
But oh boy did that change with you. He thought something must’ve been wrong with him by how quick he popped a woody after he saw your positive results
He was on and off the fence for a while though whether or not he actually wanted the kid but once the kid was born he was all over that kid. You had to stop him from installing a ‘baby seat’ on his motor bike
He almost acts like an older brother more than a father especially with how he play fights with his kid
Thankfully you haven’t had to bring your kid to any emergency clinics because of it. Yet.
I feel like all the executives of the second branch’s kids would all have play dates, mostly because Eugene would want them all focusing on work so he’d pay for a employees daycare center
Ryuheis kid is more often than not in time out because they somehow keep coming into daycare with ‘weapons’ (heavy sticks, rulers, a small wooden toy bat) and tries starting fights with the other kids
Ryuhei is the one who keeps giving them to his kiddo and encouraging them with ice cream afterwards
You’ve come home a few times with ryuhei sleeping on the couch and the kiddo sitting on his lap staring at the tv that was playing one of the violent adult cartoons like family or South Park
You told him if your kids first word was some form of swear because of those shows that his special bat was going somewhere he would not like
The kids first word was fuck
Eugene (yoogin)
Ok so we already know he would’ve organized a daycare center for the fellow workers and their kids but I feel like he’s probably just try to make sure you’re the one mainly caring for the kiddo (of course if you’re ok with it) but if you can’t he’ll probably try to hire a specific nanny or something for your kiddo
Of course he’ll occasionally bring them to the daycare so they get some social interaction with kids their age but after seeing ryuheis kid try to beat the crap out of magamis kid with the wooden blocks they were playing with he’d seriously reconsider it
Ok but he’s a twin so it’s also much more likely you’ll end up having twins. Your kiddos are very similar to yoojin and his brother, the silent protector and the brains
Bring your kiddo to work day! It would be hilarious if yoojin and his brother dressed exactly the same and dressed the kiddos the same way just to fuck with the workers
They just saw yoojin and his son walk down the hall-wait when did yoojin and his son get in the conference room?

I'm waiting so excitedly for your updates, old and new, I can't begin to tell you! You are the fandom treasure! And as I'm waiting and biting my nails I wanted to ask something, what do you think about the final scenes of episode 8 where Gaon has dinner with his professor and tells him he chooses Yohan's side. How come Yohan knew where to find them and the precise moment to come in and pick Gaon up, was he following them or did he and Gaon had a deal?
And what's with leaving his car to stand next to Gain and look at professor? I love this scene so much but I don't know if I understand its message right. Was it posturing, laying a claim on Gaon or what? I tend to feel that Yohan was possessive of Gaon when it came to professor and his police friend and I think I feel some of it in this scene but I'm not sure, I just don't have a clear grasp on it. Would love to know your thoughts!
Aww, thank you so much, sweetheart! This is definitely the first time I've been called not just a fandom treasure, but the fandom treasure. Thank you 💜
Ah yes, the "Ga On runs off with his new sugar daddy" scene. Or, as I sometimes like to call it, the "You just don't understand, dad professor — I love him" scene.
I'm joking, obviously.
(... or am I?)
I would say that Ga On and Yo Han made an agreement beforehand, yes. They probably talked about Ga On's choice to switch sides and while Yo Han would no doubt have loved for Ga On to continue on as a double agent (feeding Professor Min intentionally faulty information) Ga On is way too honest for that. So he probably insisted that, no, he'll call Professor Min, meet up with him, and just flat out tell him that Ga On's spying mission is over. He's now going to elope work with Yo Han instead.
And I find it hilarious to think that, most likely, Yo Han was just sitting in his car, perhaps scrolling through his phone, waiting for his newly acquired sugar baby to finish telling his semi-father figure that he's going dark side. Because Ga On gets up and starts walking before Yo Han drives up, meaning that it's not like Ga On saw the car coming and went "oh, better wrap this up now." It was probably the other way around, where Ga On leaving the table was the signal for Yo Han to come pick him up.
So yes, they definitely had an agreement, especially since Ga On seems to know in exactly which direction to walk, even before the car shows up, and doesn't look the least bit surprised by Yo Han's arrival.
They planned that shit.
Brutal.
As for the fact that Yo Han gets out of the car? Well, buckle up, my darlings, because I think we should take a detour to discuss intent.
Now, intent isn't necessarily important when you want to interpret a scene, but I like the extra nuance it can offer. And by intent, I mean what the scriptwriter/director might have intended with a scene. Why is this scene here? What was the plan behind it? How is it supposed to impact the overall story? How does it tie into the rest of the plot?
Which is never something you can say for sure, of course, unless there are interviews expressly stating it, but, a lot of the time, we can guess.
The intent behind this scene, in its simplest, purest form, is to show that Ga On is switching sides. And, with that in mind, it makes sense that he crosses that road to Yo Han's car (if you know me and my metas, you know how much I love lines, characters crossing said lines, and the symbolism of that) and stops to stand next to Yo Han. It's a very simple yet effective way to show Ga On's choice and where it will take him.
Into Yo Han's arms.
NOW. Intent is very useful because, depending on how skilled the person writing is, you can hide a lot of subtext and leave room for a lot of interpretation with a cleverly formulated intent. That's how censored shows get away with so much, because they can point to the perfectly reasonable, heteronormative intent behind a scene and pretend that there aren't also a lot of subtler nuances to the reading.
And, if they're extra bold, they also add hints in the presentation and execution.
The scene where Yo Han invites Sun Ah to the house is a perfect example of this, where the intent is to make her feel lonely, like an outsider, as she's invited to observe this warm, comfortable family. Not a bad tactic as far as manipulation goes, I have to say. So, in other words, very reasonable intent — makes sense with what they're trying to achieve.
The fact that it ends up looking more like Yo Han is proudly showing off his doting, doe-eyed househusband who's passively-aggressively and not-so-discreetly staking his claim is... well, that's just an accidental side effect, isn't it? Not intent at all.
And that's true. It's not intent that makes it look gay.
It's the presentation of the intent.
(Sidenote: To be a fly on the wall when Yo Han and Ga On came up with this strategy. Because, clearly, they were both in on it and, I mean, how did that conversation go? Inquiring minds need to know.
Like, how did they go from: "We need to throw her off balance. We'll invite her to the house, show what she's missing out on, but also give her hints that she could have it all, if she's willing to surrender" to Ga On going: "I'll cook a fancy dinner. That'll make her jealous."
I mean, he's not wrong but, like, Mr. Sugar Baby. What? x'D
Also, imagine Yo Han's face. Transcendent.)
Anyway. Intent can also ruin a story. I think most of us have read a fanfic and gone: "... that character wouldn't do that. This makes no sense." That could be a sign that the author's intent is clashing with the characters or the story they're trying to tell. Or, put more bluntly, that the author is so focused on forcing an idea that they don't realise that they're going against the logic of the story or characters' personalities. Things happen because they want them to, not because it makes sense, meaning that the intent isn't tied to the story or characters, but what the writer wants. This is badly planned intent.
And, most of the time, readers can tell when the intent is off, even if you might not be able to put your finger on it while you're reading. But if you're feeling a niggling doubt at the back of your mind, wondering why this scene is here, what this scene even means, or why this character suddenly seems to act so strangely, it could be that the writer didn't plan it well enough.
That's not to say that a reader must always know the intent behind a scene. Ideally, the story should be good enough that they don't have to stop and think about things like that. If the intent and internal logic are sound enough, it should just flow naturally.
Because, when it comes down to it, pretty much all scenes in a story have an intent and that intent should be in harmony with the characters' personalities and how they would choose to behave. And I don't mean that there can never be conflict or that characters can't disagree — I mean that all scenes should have a reason for being there. It doesn't have to be a deep or complex reason, but there should be a reason that ties into the overarching plotline. And characters shouldn't be forced into a scene they have no business being in. Intent is very important from a crafting standpoint.
And intent is one of the things that makes The Devil Judge such an absolute joy. Because while there is always a perfectly reasonable — and very heterosexual, we promise — intent behind most scenes, they often choose to present the scenes in a way that leaves room for a much queerer reading. Now, that can happen with almost any story, but what sets The Devil Judge apart is that it seems to be entirely intentional.
The presentation is by no means subtle or accidental.
Like, they didn't have to make Ga On shuffle up in a soft, comfortable sweater and greet Sun Ah like a caring househusband, but they did. That was a conscious choice.
And this scene you mention, with Yo Han getting out of his car when he's picking Ga On up, falls into a similar category in my mind. The surface-level intent is clear — show that Ga On is switching sides — but he could simply have said so. He could have borrowed a car and driven himself. Yo Han didn't have to come pick him up. And he certainly didn't have to get out of the car.
But he did.
And that might be what you're picking up on when you're saying that you're not sure if you're understanding the message correctly. Because in a drama this clever, that puts so much effort into details and, again, intent, it feels almost a bit odd to leave this gaping hole, doesn't it? Yo Han stepping out of that car should mean something, right?
And, once you've gotten this far, you've got a couple of options to choose from to fill in the blanks. Either you can assume that it was just something the creators chose to do because it looked/seemed cool and therefore might not mean much at all. And considering that this drama does that a couple of times, this could honestly be the case. Maybe they just thought it would be more effective to have Yo Han to step out of the car? To really hammer it home to Professor Min what's happening?
Your other option is to bring in the harmonisation between intent and characters. Because, if the writer is good and their characters consistent, you should be able to pick up on secondary layers of intent, running parallel with the main one. Because while each scene has an intent, each character IN that scene also has one (though perhaps it would be more comfortable to call it purpose at this point?).
In other words: If "it looked cool" isn't the answer, could we find it in the character's behaviour instead? What is their intent, based on their personalities and previous actions? Does that give a more satisfying answer?
What reason would Mr. Kang "Abyss" Yo Han have for stepping out of that car?
I, personally, think that the answer is pretty simple.
He is absofuckinglutely staking a claim.
He's stepping out of that car because he's a Possessive, Dramatic Bitch and wants to rub it in Professor Min's face. He wants to show that he's won, that he's turned the spy Professor Min sent, and that he's, quite literally, taking Ga On away.
Yo Han is basically going: "Thanks for the sugar baby — I'll make sure to ravish savour treasure him."
So while the main goal of that scene is to establish that Ga On is switching sides, the intent Yo Han adds with his actions leaves room for a very gay reading. In fact, I'd argue that doing so only makes the scene more believable, since Yo Han's actions are otherwise kind of... unnecessary? He has no reason to step out of the car and make himself known, unless it's for the dramah.
Again, the presentation of the intent is where the magic happens.
So, why this long, godawful rant about intent, you ask? When I could just have answered the question right away?
Because while I know that I'm preaching to the choir in terms of this drama being gay as hell, I just want to highlight the importance of intent and how it can change the reading of a scene. I think intent — or specifically the harmony between characters and intent, and the various layers of intent — is absolutely fascinating, especially in this drama.
Especially if you want to argue that it's gay.
Because there is, in fact, some scenes where I just... I can't. The intent and characterisation don't match at all — unless you add a queer element. Like, this drama is so clever. Not perfect, mind you, but so clever. And so careful with especially Yo Han and Ga On's characterisation. Very little is left to chance.
And so, if you keep everything I've said about intent and characters in mind, and I ask you to explain the intent behind this one, singular shot, can you do so without making it gay?
I'm not joking when I say that this scene, right here, was the one that definitively made me go "oh fuck, this is gay gay."
Because in most others — if not all — I can find that safe surface-level intent which means that the people behind this drama can claim plausible deniability. Of course it's not gay! Look at this perfectly reasonable, heterosexual intent!
Except this one.
There's no explanation for this. Ga On has no reason to look this jealous unless his jealousy is the main intent behind this shot. There just isn't. And it's only made worse by his huff and the way he clenches his jaw a couple of seconds later. Not even the argument that Sun Ah is their enemy so letting her fix Yo Han's tie might be dangerous can justify this, since that's not a look of concern or alarm — that's jealousy.
The intent is jealousy. Plain and simple.
And that's why intent is important. Because, if push came to shove, the intent behind this one, singular screenshot could, theoretically, be the only evidence you need if you wanted to defend a queer reading of this drama.
Because there is, quite frankly — in my humble opinion as the fandom treasure — no other way to explain the look on his face in a drama this meticulous and obsessed with details.
In this scene, unlike all the others, the queerness isn't just in the presentation anymore — it's in both the intent and presentation.
So, if you want the scene that says "this shit's gay, fam"?
This is the one.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

it’s 2024…and the way i still take so much issues with “she’s my whole world line” and whatever the hell That kiss scene was. just what.
fjaslkdfas same but im also like my poor baby gaon going thru a gay crisis a gay panic if u will like fr if i'd been around a hot dilf who was mildly suggestive half the time but only bc he kinda sorta lacked social cues and was also a family man, i too would probably feel conflicted about having my whole world rocked. 💀 you kno dick brain vs the bff you've known ur whole life?? valid struggles i feel like.
lmaooo but also on a more serious note, it is hella frustrating and the kiss wasn't necessary, but also from a narrative pov i get it. is it my fav way the story could've been told to convey the intention? no, but gaon wasn't scared of yohan. he was scared of himself, of being someone different he spent his whole life convincing himself he wasn't - with the help of soohyun and the professor, no less! it's so easy for gaon to blame yohan because one, he's forced people to believe he's the devil and he's an easy scapegoat, but two, a lot of people have that gut reaction to run with their tail between their legs, go back to comfort and situations that were easy. with soohyun, gaon could put himself back into that little box he convinced himself he liked and pretend nothing else mattered. he could have the girl and the job and the quant lil house - go back to when things were normal except do a 180 on his feelings because again, that's comfort, because soohyun is reliable, at the very least.
i think what's insanely funny about it all is even after that dramatic confession, everything gaon does still favors yohan. even if his brain hasn't caught up with his actions, they still possess an inclination of freedom that yohan has now given gaon. like, it's so interesting to see brain vs body bc your physical self speaks volumes even if you're not fully aware of it. and everything about gaon was changed the moment he met yohan.
and just for funsies:
gaon's that little bird in the cage tattooed on his back, tattooed when he was boxed into a world where all he had was soohyun and the professor and declining mental health after his parent's death, and then we see that bird bloom under yohan's stare, ignited by yohan's touch and then fully set free like the phoenix he always was.

The Devil Judge Rewatch Ep 9 (Part 3)
Continuation of Part 2, which can be found here.
I left off in Part 2 with Gaon holding the cutlery hostage and Elijah calling Yohan.
And we have Yohan looking like this...
All tensed and prepped to handle whatever emergency that had prompted Elijah to call him. Only to be thrown something totally unexpected.
Look at Yohan!
So shocked that he had stared at his phone. Most likely wondering if he was hallucinating or was this some prank to trick him.
And that last screenshot of him thinking so hard about it. It's just cute and funny and so so endearing.
And here, we have Yohan deciding to listen Elijah.
Looking so happy cause his daughter and his spouse Gaon are waiting for him to come home.
The next bit, it's so beautiful that I'll leave you to enjoy the screenshots.
I have no idea how Yohan does it. Making the act of eating from his spoon so sensual that I swear Gaon would be thinking of something else other than putting food in his mouth.
And I just love TDJ sense of humor with this next bit.
I do not know if its part of the script or the actors decided to add it in. But it just make the entire scene all the more endearing. And is one of my favourites too.
And in case you miss this little bit that I hadn't noticed until I was screenshoting.
Yohan had been getting emotional as he stared at each and everyone at the dining table.
And when Elijah realised he was looking at her...
Gosh, I will never tire of watching these two and how they interact with each other.
With this, I will have to end the re-watch for TDJ Ep 9 here. There is so much more that I wish I got the time to post about, especially the part about how Gaon becoming not just Yohan's partner at home. But his partner in his schemes as well.
And I love how Yohan gave Gaon so much leeway. Stepping in only when his baby deer is floundering with the bribing and the gold bars incident. And then stepping in again to help Gaon get his revenge with the most suitable punishment possible.
See u in the rewatch for Ep 10.
For Part 1 .
