Beats Me - 7: Emails I Can’t Send
ft. Kim Minju
Tumblr media
Word Count: 10k+
The first few minutes of your meeting are spent by Yeji and Yuna to catch up on life.
You sit by the side, detached from the conversation as you sip on the latte (what did they put in this thing? It’s so damn good). They relive some highschool memories, ask each other what they’ve been studying—the usual stuff. The croissants at the counter look really good, and you’re wondering if they’ll taste as good as they look. Maybe you should buy one later.
Yuna reminds you of Ryujin, only if Ryujin looked friendlier and less intimidating upon first glance. Her voice is distinct, her laugh even more so as she does that thing where she moves her feet like she’s running while she doubles over. Her eyes stay focused on her senior who—for the first time since you’ve seen her—is smiling. Yeji’s lanky fingers stay affixed to the straw, moving every now and then to disturb the ice as she stirs the drink. The coffee swirling in milk leaves light brown streaks against the side of her glass, creating these streaky patterns that look like they probably belong on an art piece. There are some details in her life that she briefly touches on but never delves into, probably because you’re there next to her.
Then it’s finally time. You’re dragged back into the conversation when Yeji says, “So you want to join the band?” and suddenly the cat that’s situated just outside the glass door doesn’t have your attention. Yea. Been looking for a chance to play, is Yuna’s reply, I saw you guys play at that bar the other time. You guys were great.
Eunbi should be here. She would’ve been ecstatic to hear that.
Yeji nods her head, stirring her drink idly as she silently looks at her junior. You hope that Yuna’s stratagem to enter isn’t just flattery. A sinking feeling tells you that it just might be, judging from the way she’s shifting under the gaze of her senior.
“Remind me Yuna: how many years have you played the saxophone for?” Yeji inquires. Yuna’s response is quick, almost rehearsed—five years now. Never stopped playing for a single moment in my life—and Yeji seems rather pleased by it. Yuna sips on her grapefruit ade, casting a glance your way as Yeji drums her nails against the table. You shoot the younger girl a reassuring smile, and hopefully she gets the message that she’s doing great in your books.
Then Yeji unfolds her arms, taps a nail before your crossed arms that rest on the table to get your attention. The same nail points towards Yuna, and its owner simply gestures with her chin. You get what she wants you to do, though you would’ve appreciated it if she’d just told you what she wanted, and you clear your throat while sitting up a little straighter.
“Um… Yeji kinda has me here to… Talk about my experience.” You internally cringe at your opening statement. What is this? An alumni sharing session? you chide yourself, all while you’re continuing on to whatever it is you have to say, “When you join this band, do expect yourself to be pushed a little. The hours aren’t all that taxing, but you gotta be able to… You know, strike that work life balance, as they say.”
And that’s just about all you have to say. Yeji neither smiles nor glares at you, only giving the smallest of nods as she focuses her attention on her junior. “If we give you a chart, you better learn it by heart by next practice. If we have a gig, practice will get more intensive. There’s a lot of things you need to be able to do Yuna. You can’t just think that you’re up to it; you have to be sure that you can shoulder all of these responsibilities.”
She’s making this sound like military recruitment, you’re thinking. Yuna’s definitely feeling a slight shift in atmosphere, and she’s fiddling with her glass as she stares straight into Yeji’s eyes. If you’re being honest: Yeji is definitely exaggerating the rigor of the band, and it’s probably scaring the poor girl. Your guitarist’s gaze isn’t at its peak intensity, but it’s enough to make Yuna purse her lips in silence, her smile fading from her face. Yeji greets her junior’s silence with a grim expression.
“So. Let me ask you again.” This time, Yeji’s tone is the furthest thing from gentle. “Are you ready to join us?”
Yuna stares at the melting ice in her glass. She takes a sip of her coffee, lets it sit in her mouth for a bit, and then swallows. “I’ll… I’ll text you when I’ve made up my mind.”
And all at once, it feels like all the happiness in the world has been sapped out of this cafe. Yeji stands up, leaving the rest of her latte untouched as she shoulders her bag and pushes in her chair.
“I’ll pay you for the latte,” she says, albeit a bit too nonchalantly after she’d single handedly brought down the mood. “Text me how much it costs, then text me again once you’re sure that you want in.”
She doesn’t even wait for you, doesn’t even look at you; she just turns on her heel and leaves. And for a moment, you sit there in awkward silence with Shin Yuna. You can’t help but feel bad for the poor girl who’d just been subjected to unwarranted coldness; and you want to comfort her, but you don’t know how. With a sigh, you take the straw out of your cup, bring the glass to your mouth and down the rest of your latte. Yuna’s eyes stayed trained on her own latte, which was close to untouched. She watches as a single drop of condensation rolls down the side of the glass, landing on her coaster and getting absorbed into the material.
“The band’s… Not as bad as she makes it sound,” you pipe, pausing for a brief moment to consider your words carefully. “Yeji tends to be a little… Mean sometimes.” Now that she has her eyes on you, you can’t help but feel a little shifty in your seat. She’s the type of girl that turns heads when she walks down the street, the type of girl that could probably get scouted by a model agency just by standing at a bus stop and looking at her phone. Not that her gaze is piercing or anything, but it’s just that she’s a little too breathtaking to make you feel okay sitting opposite her in a one on one. “Don’t think too much about it. I think you’ll make a great fit in the band.”
And then you decide to leave. It’s with great embarrassment that you state that you should take your leave, and it’s with great clumsiness and lack of grace that you stand up, bump your knee against the table, mutter a small and push your chair in before making a beeline for the door. The bell on the door chimes as you pull the door open, and it chimes again when you step out, and again when you close the door shut behind you—almost like it was laughing at you. So much for not being awkward.
“Thought you’d stay in there for a little longer.”
Hearing Yeji’s voice makes you jump, and you turn to find her petting the cat at the windowsill of the cafe. She isn’t even looking at you, not even a glance in your direction as you walk up to her and stop just before her.
“What the hell was that in there?” you can’t help but question. “You make us sound like we’re a fucking concentration camp while simultaneously making her feel like shit. How the fuck do you even do that?”
She gives the cat one last scratch between the ears, and the feline purrs under her touch. She rises from her squatting position and looks you in the eye. “That’s why I brought you here: to make her feel better.” She lets that linger in the air for a bit. “Okay. I’m going home.”
And she walks right past you like you aren’t going to be traveling in the same direction as her. A grunt of frustration slips out of your lips as you turn and catch up with her, matching her pace step for step.
“Did you seriously think,” you ask as you match her stride, “that a small ‘it’s alright’ from me would be enough to make her join?”
“Yep.”
“You’re fucking unbelievable.”
“Same goes for you.”
“What?”
The two of you stop at the traffic light, and she takes the time to adjust her hair over her shoulder and crack her neck like there isn’t someone talking to her on her immediate left. At this point, you are as good as a ghost to her.
“Why can’t you just be nice for once?” you don’t bother hiding the aggression in your tone, nor did you ever intend on doing so. “Is it really that hard? Do we have to go through a trial to earn your kindness?”
The light turns green and she puts away her phone. “I’m only nice to the people I trust, and neither you nor Yuna fall into that category.”
You bite your tongue, and you stay where you are as she walks across the road. She doesn’t look back, and you never expected her to. This conversation is hardly worth your time and emotional battery. You’re better off talking to some moss ball behind a dumpster, and the silence that you’ll receive is more welcoming than anything Hwang Yeji will ever say.
And so you walk elsewither from where she’s going and you just walk. You know for a fact that there’s no point in fuming over her behavior, and there’s definitely no point in figuring out how to get to her. Instead, you walk down a stretch of shops, letting your eyes wander across the various items that are being displayed at the windows: the jewelry, the clothes, the facial products, the bags, the—
Someone calls your name, and her voice is all too familiar. You’ve heard it just recently, over the phone with club music blaring over her voice. So yeah: you don’t need to turn to know who's made you stop in your tracks, but you do just because you need to see it to believe it
Kim Minju looks dazzling in her outfit:a set of black and short shorts that cover up the skin that’s exposed beneath the shirt-dress she wears. The lime green knitted Prada bag she has in her hands is a little bit jarring, a tad out of place on her monochrome outfit, and you guess that she probably grabbed it in a rush to get out of the house. Still: it looks like a purposeful mismatch, and perhaps your sense of fashion is just so bland that you simply just can’t appreciate the complexity of her outfit.
“Hey,” she greets—a mix of shock and surprise and glee on her face as she takes small steps towards you. It isn’t that big of a distance to cross, and she’s right in front of you in two-to-three small steps. She stops for a moment, lets her eyes wander across your face for a bit. “Didn’t expect to see you again so soon.”
“Same goes for you,” you tell her. “Thought we’d just rub shoulders in the club and call it a day.”
Minju giggles, fidgets a little with the strap of her bag that sits nicely on her small shoulder. “You uh… you going somewhere?”
“Well um…” it’s hard to phrase what exactly it is you’re doing right now, because: a) you don’t exactly have a set location in mind and; b) you don’t know how to tell her that you were going away from somewhere that you were going to just now—ugh, it’s confusing to even think about. In the name of reducing the complications of your explanation, you opt for the best response you can possibly give at the moment: “No. Not really. How about you?”.
It’s not a lie; it’s half of the truth… Sort of? Ah fuck, why bother fretting over it?
She smiles, a toothless one where the corner of her lips gets tugged up by a set of invisible strings. It’s a charming little smile, and you have to admit that you love seeing the way it makes her eyes glimmer a little. “I just met my groupmates, and before you ask: it was a horrible session.”
You chuckle. “My condolences.” You rub your palms against your jeans as you speak, “must suck to be the smartest person in the group.”
She’s consistently been the brightest person in the room, perfect GPA, Valedictorian and everything. Sure: she already stands out because of her looks, but her smarts make her the whole package deal. The whole reason you met her in the first place was because you were failing Chemistry so badly in your first year that the teacher had to get her and her straight-As to step in and tutor you. She did a pretty good job, pulled your marks up from an E to a B and kept it there.
“Oh shut up,” she sighs, though the smile on her face never fades, “you know I hate it when you say shit like that.”
“Do you? Could’ve sworn that you lived off compliments back then.”
She clicks her tongue in annoyance, slaps your shoulder with the back of her hand. She hasn’t changed one bit. “Fuck you. You always were too damn cheeky.”
You shrug in response. She pushes back a strand of hair.
“You wanna grab a coffee?” Her question is one you’ve expected from the moment you bumped into her.
“I just had a latte, but I wouldn’t mind getting a Croissant.”
***
“You were one mark away from an A—this close to breaking your B streak.”
“It was an A in technicality. Careless mistakes that fuck me over don’t count, Minju.”
“Tell that to the Chemistry department then.”
“I think they would've dunked me in a vat of acid.”
“What type of Acid? Can you still remember which ones can melt skin off bone?”
“Welcome back Little Miss know-it-all.”
“The information will save you one day, mark my words.”
“Well I doubt I’ll ever come into contact with skin-melting Chemicals any time soon.”
“Don’t jinx yourself.”
“Hey, don’t tell me that when you were the one who was dubbed ‘bearer of bad news’.”
“It’s not my fault that I always have to relay the bad news to the class! I was the fucking class president!”
“Oh right.”
“Oh right. You sound so stupid.”
“Says the one giving me a lecture.”
“I’d hardly constitute this as a lecture.”
“Look at you using big words.”
“I’m going to throw this fucking coffee at you.”
“It’s a good latte. I wouldn’t recommend you wasting your money like that.”
“You’re a child.”
“Aren’t we all young at heart?”
“Young at heart is one thing. Immaturity is another.”
“I’d argue that you’re the immature one here.”
“Says the one who’s always getting himself involved in some shit every other day.”
“I wouldn’t blame that on my immaturity.”
“So you do admit that you’re immature.”
“Now you’re just putting words into my mouth.”
“It’s not my fault that you say stupid things.”
“But it’s you that uses my stupid things to… Fuck. That won’t sound right.”
“Did you just lose your train of thought mid sentence?”
“I was running what I was about to say through my head.”
“You do that while you speak? You’re so weird.”
“Oh so you’d rather me spit out nonsense all the time?”
“Yea, so I can insult you over it.”
“Ugh. You’re so kind Minju.”
“Thank you. I pride myself with my heart of gold.”
“The same one that made you a pushover with your ex?”
“We both know that he manipulated me.”
“And you kept making excuses with him because you refused to see the bad in him.”
“Okay, I admit that that was a bit of a misplay on my end.”
“You dated him for two years.”
“I didn’t want to be lonely, okay? Everyone in the damn friend group was dating, I felt left out!”
“But we were in healthy relationships. Yours looked like the physical embodiment of type two diabetes.”
“Oh. So you’d consider your relationship with Kim Chaewon a healthy one?”
“It was till… You know.”
The silence that follows is deafening, and Minju’s smile fades.
“Shit. I went a little overboard with that one,” how apologetic she sounded made you feel bad. Not that you ever intended to be a wet blanket, but the hesitance in your voice must have killed the mood or something. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to—”
You waved it off. “All jokes,” you assure her with a forced smile. “Nothing was or has been taken to heart. I promise.”
She purses her lips, and when she parts them, they make a small smack. You take a moment to take another stab at your croissant and send another bit into your mouth. And yes: it does taste as good as it looks.
“How are things with you and her anyway?” She asks, setting down her half-full glass of latte. “Are you guys doing alright? Talking now?”
You imagine the look of shock on her face when you tell her that you made out with your ex and fucked her after you took her home, and make the executive decision to skip the details and give her a more vague (and untrue)  answer: “We’re uh… Reconciling I guess.”
She nods, and you can’t tell if it’s one of approval or one of disappointment. She’d been the number one supporter of your relationship with Chaewon; imagine her shock when you told her one fine morning over the phone that the two of you had broken up.
“Forgive me for continuing on this subject, but,” the addition of that but really spoke volumes of how she wasn’t gonna let you interject, even if you really wanted to just stop talking about it. She’s not one to be self-centred, but when she has something to say, you have a guaranteed earnings if you bet on the fact that she’ll get it out one way or another. You always let her get away with it, only because you have a bit of a soft spot for her, and she has a bit of a soft spot for you too—you did spend a large amount of time in your first year of highschool in the library with her after all. “I always thought that you and Chaewon would be, you know, a ‘forever couple’.”
“Well I’m sorry we ruined your drama fantasies,” you reply, trying to bring the conversation back to the light-hearted talk it was just a couple of minutes ago. “Some things just don’t work out in the end—the relationship was just one of those things.”
This time, you decode her nod as one of understanding and sympathy. “Well… As long as you’re okay now.” she rolls her straw between her forefinger and thumb, watching as it twists left and right in her fingers and disturbs the latte before her. “You seem to be doing well with your whole band gig and all.”
“You could say that.” You set down your fork and dab the corners of your mouth with a napkin while you swallow the rest of your croissant. “Chaewon and I will learn to… Coexist eventually. I hope so at least.”
“You guys better sort it out,” she muses. “I doubt I can keep baby-sitting her at the club for much longer. I have a life too, you know?”
“I feel like that’s more of a problem for her to settle than us.” you’re barely hiding the disdain in your voice as you stare at crumbs that are left on your plate. “It’s not my problem if she gets drunk. She made the choice to go drinking herself.”
“But you made it your problem just a day ago,” Minju points out.
“Only because it was the only way to get her out of that damn club.”
“You could’ve chosen not to come.”
“And leave you guys to deal with her?”
“It was me and Eunbi. We could’ve dragged her out.”
“But—“
“Just admit that you actually cared. You and I both know that you’re too much of a fucking sweetheart to ever let someone struggle when you can help.”
And she stumps you with that one, because you don’t know how to reply to that. Is that a compliment or an insult? Frankly, you didn’t know, but you do know that you’re surprised by the fact that anyone can ever use the word sweetheart in such an aggressive manner. It’s like telling someone you love their outfit before punching them in the face.
Okay, maybe not that extreme… But you get the gist.
“Maybe I did have a soft spot for her,” you mused. It’s half self-realisation, half-reply. “But even so: you guys would go through all nine circles of hell just to get her up and out of the club.”
Minju draws her lips into a thin line. She lifts her straw to her mouth, lets it hover just in front of her lips for a bit, then places the glass back down on the table heavily. A small, substantial thump sends a small tremor through the table. She stares into her glass. “What even happened when you took her home anyway?”
You shrug and put down your fork to wipe your mouth—actions that mask the fact that you want to cringe at yourself over what happened. You’ve done a lot of lying today (what would your mother say?), and you’re pretty sure that all of this will come back and bite you in the ass some day. But for now, you’d like to save yourself some embarrassment as you say, “Helped her with her hangover. Gave her a meal. Then she left.”
Minju looks at you for a moment. Then she sighs and shakes her head.
“You’re too kind for your own good,” she mutters. Her fingers stay wrapped around her glass as she speaks, beads of condensation slowly running down the clear walls of her cup and sliding down her knuckles. She raises her head, just enough to establish eye contact with you. “Then again: your soft little heart was the reason I had a crush on you.”
Okay. She skipped a lot of ground there.
You blink. You blink again. She stares straight into your eyes throughout—doesn’t break eye contact or anything. Not that you didn’t take her seriously, but just that you were a little… Well, stunned.
“Bottom line: you care about her. Don’t let her manipulate you okay?” Minju tells you, finally raising the star to her mouth and taking a nice long sip from her latte. When the straw is released from between her lips, she smacks her lips in satisfaction and leans back in her seat. You’re still staring if anyone’s asking, and yes: you are indeed thinking, what the fuck?
Minju shoots you a look of disdain. “What?” she asks as she straightens the collar of her shirt dress. “Why are you looking at me like that? Cut it out.”
Okay: aside from the fact that you’re shocked by the fact that she isn’t addressing the elephant in the room (the one that she placed there by her damn self), you’re reeling over the fact that she’s just casually dropped this hell-of-a piece of news on you like it was just an update on life or something; oh I used to like, you know, see you more than just a friend, but no biggie.
You blink. You blink again. She grabs the straw and tosses it out of the glass, gulps the rest of her latte in a single swallow and wipes her lips with the back of her hand.
“If you’re wondering if the feelings are still there, the answer is no,” she tells you, picking up a napkin to clean up the corners of her mouth. “The keyword was had you big dummy. Stop thinking so much about it. You look stupid.”
The faculties to reply return to you, but you can’t do much but sputter a very confused wha? as Minju examines her nails for a bit. She smirks, then grabs her bag and rises from her seat.
“If my news is killing you that bad, why don’t we talk about it over a nice dinner?”
***
True to her word, she does open up about everything over the course of the meal, albeit after a couple of glasses of wine.
“You were so cute and so damn loveable,” she muses, unashamed as she pours herself another glass. She took you to some nice restaurant a few streets away, and you’re kinda regretting your decision to eat that croissant for tea because fuck does the food here taste good. Minju settles into her seat, glass in hand as she stares at the scarlet liquid. “You bought me dark chocolate on my period, got me a snack after we had a session because I was hungry… You’re pretty fucking handsome too, you know that?”
All of this is, of course, news to you, and youre struggling to internalise the fact that she would ever think about you in such a way. Your own wine glass has remained full for the entire duration of your meal, and you choose this time to take a sip to help you process all of… Well, this.
“So… How long did you, you know, like me?” you can’t help but ask. Not that it was the first question on your mind or anything, but more of the fact that you needed to say something to prevent this conversation from descending into awkward silence. Comfortable was the last word you’d use to describe how you feel.
“Huh…” Minju mutters. She swirls her glass for a bit. She takes a sip, swirls more. Her gaze turns inwards and her mouth moves in a soundless count. “If you don’t count the summer break where I figured out that I wanted nothing more but to kiss you? About a year and a half.”
You do the maths in your head and come to an epiphany. Minju beats you to it and verbalises your thoughts: yea, yea… I liked you while you were dating Chaewon, which means that I liked you when I was dating that deadbeat baseball player, which meant I was unfaithful by technicality, but I stuck with that sick fuck to try and make you jealous.
Frankly, you’re not too sure why you are being thrown into emotional situations with people of your past over the course of the last two days. You want this to be some sort of dream, and you want, so badly, for Minju to burst out laughing and hit you with a, this was all a joke! I just wanted you to accompany me for dinner, that’s all, and call it a day. Maybe you two could get ice cream afterwards, laugh this silly prank off on a bench somewhere and then bid farewell for the night. But judging from the way Minju stares solemnly at her plate, you can pretty much infer with full confidence that she means every word she says. Even as she chews her steak slowly, you can feel her lingering on some thoughts that she won’t verbalise—not now at least. Maybe she’ll text you about it a couple weeks for months down the road, and all of this will just resurface for, like, a day or two at most. Bottom line: she’s pretty serious about everything she just said, and she’ll most likely remind you of this conversation in this nice restaurant that you can never come back to again. The food is nice but it's nowhere in your tax bracket.
“So uh,” Minju brings your attention back to her. She leaves you hanging for a bit as she pokes a cherry tomato with her fork and sends it into her mouth. You hear a soft crunch as she chews, and you can’t help but feel a little bit uncomfortable with the presented silence that follows. She dabs the corners of her lips with a napkin. She swallows. “About what happened with Chaewon after you took her to your place: did you leave out the part where you fucked her in the ass on purpose? Or did she drug you and you forgot everything?”
And it feels like time freezes as she picks up her wine glass and gulps down the rest of the scarlet liquid in there. When she looks at you with those piercing, knowing eyes, you wonder how much she knows about you and Chaewon; what does she know and what are the details she has sitting in some locker in the corners of her mind.
“Chaewon has a pretty big mouth you know,” Minju remarks, a small—almost mocking—pout on her lips as she plays with the vegetables on her plate. “She tells me just about anything and everything that goes on in her life, just saying.”
So that’s enough to tell you that she knows more than she should. You wonder if there are any other people Chaewon runs her mouth to.
“If you’re gonna call me a loser, just do it,” you mutter. You suddenly find the urge to down the rest of your wind irresistible. You act on your impulse, and you grimace a little as the alcohol burns your throat on the way down. It’s probably not recommended to consume liquor the way you are drinking it right now, but you couldn’t care less at this point. You kind of need this drink right now. This day has been full of unexpected things: unexpected meetings to unexpected feelings to god knows what else is on its way. “But before you say anything, she started it. I was the victim.”
Minju chuckles. You don;t really find anything about this entertaining right now, but there will certainly be an element of humour to this conversation that you will probably discover after some hindsight. Minju sets down her cutlery and folds her arms. “I understand”, she tells you, making sure to hold your gaze as she rests her cheek in her palm. “Trust me. Calling you a loser is, like, the 2nd thing on my mind right now.”
“And what’s the first?”
She looks left, then right, then leans in a little. “Was the sex good?”
Honestly, you shouldn’t be shocked. She’s always been a bit cheeky in nature, a little bit lickerish and maybe a little indecent. You’ve seen it, heard it, known it for the longest time—yet you can’t stop yourself from raising both eyebrows when she drops the question on you. MAybe it’s the lack of hesitance; the question coming right at you like a fastball after you gave her your end of the situation. It’s a little devious: the way she just gives it to you straight without any room for silence and pondering. You’ll give her that.
“I mean,” she continues, not even giving you time to even try and rationalise the question. “I imagine that her pussy’s already tight as fuck. Her ass? God I can only imagine what that was like for you.”
Now it’s getting a little confusing. The lines between wry and genuine interest are being blurred here, and you’re not even sure if this is really a conversation you’re having with her right now. Her bluntness and lack of consideration towards you is a little appalling given her remorse in the cafe. Maybe it’s the wine. Yea, it’s probably the wine…
“What the fuck?” Is all you can manage as you affix your gaze on her with a look of shock that could probably win you an award if this was a movie. Minju pushes back some hair, fingers deftly tucking them behind her ear as she fixes you with a look. You have no idea where this conversation is going, and you really, really hope that she doesn’t continue on this line of talk. Of course, you have a bad track record of getting what you wish for.
Minju leans in even more, gets even closer. You’re not sure if you should move or do anything at this juncture. She cocks her head a little, smirks.
“Wanna find out if I’m a better fuck then her?”
***
Why did you follow her back to her apartment? You don’t even know. Best guess: you weren’t really thinking after she spoke and just went with it. Or maybe: you might have looked at her all weird and somehow ended up agreeing (she’s a sweet talker and you certainly wouldn’t put it past her). There are about ten possibilities that you can think of—eleven if you added the one that just formulated in your brain about a second ago—all of which are equally confusing and hard to fathom. It’ll take some time and probably a cup of coffee or two to figure out.
But focus up: there are a lot more pressing matters right now, matters like the fact that her lips are firmly pressed against yours while your back is against the closed and locked door of her apartment. Frankly, you don’t even know how the hell you two got locked in this kiss; could’ve sworn the two of you were just talking at the restaurant a couple of minutes ago. Everything’s a little hazy, and it’s a little worrying considering that you only had one or two… Maybe three? Yea, probably three… Let’s just say there was a couple more glasses of wine after she asked if you if she could potentially be a better fuck, and here you are now. It seems like your relationship with alcohol and women all lead to the same destination. It’s a problem for sure, but you can settle that later.
There’s a rather loud smack as she removes her lips from yours—for air of course. Gazing deep into your eyes, she smiles as she tells you, god I’ve always wanted to do that, before she re-establishes the connection of lips. The kiss is aggressive: nothing short of fervent and definitely not holding back on the restraint. If there was a way to properly kiss someone, Kim Minju was certainly taking it up another step. Her tongue pokes through your lips, invades past your teeth and pushes itself deep into your mouth till it dances with yours. It’s starting to get a little messy, a little more raunchy and, uh… Well—you get the gist. Your brain’s certainly not functioning the way it should be.
Are you drunk? Probably not.
She starts to pull you by the shirt—away from the door and towards the living room. Her place is pretty big, and there's enough space for the two of you to stumble and fumble around till you find a flat surface that you can proper her up on and spread her legs. The surface in question is a table. It’s probably her dining table, and it creaks as Minju undoes the clasp of her sheer shorts that really shouldn’t be classified as shorts in any world. The article of clothing comes off together with your jeans, and they’re both tossed aside before your hands are on her hips and pulling her towards you. Her ass slides over the wood, hissing as her skin drags along a small distance so that she can grip your face in her palms and crash her lips against yours. You close your eyes, enjoy the feel of her warm body pressing against yours while those gentle hands sink fingers into the flesh of your cheeks. A dark part of you takes a little pleasure in the pain.
“Fuck.” You love the lilt in her voice after she breaks the kiss. “I see why Chaewon likes to kiss you now,” she lets her hands roam across your face, brushing away the bits of your hair that fall in front of your eyes, almost as if she wants you to see her and only her. “You kiss so well. Feels like I’m kissing a marshmallow with lips.”
“Do I even want to know how you came up with that analogy?” you question. She grins.
“Just trust it. I did get a higher score than you in just about every subject except music.”
You chuckle. She goes in for a kiss; you make a beeline for the column of milky skin at her neck, savour the sharp inhale that sucks air through her teeth and sounds like more of a hiss. You kiss her jaw, trail it up to her neck then back down to her collarbone. Every touch of your lips on her skin makes her sigh.
“Try not to mark me where people can see,” she whispers. “There’s only so much skin that makeup can cover without ruining my outfits, and foundation is really fucking expensive these days.”
(Now there’s the debate of whether that was a challenge or a precautionary measure. She’s always been a bit of a cheeky one: trying people on and giggling as she does so. You’ve been the victim of her antics before, but it’s kind of hard to deduce whether she’s telling you, don’t do it or inviting you to leave hickeys all over her neck and wherever you could get your lips on.)
“And if I do?” you can’t help but ask. Minju chuckles and pushes you away by your shoulders.
“Don’t.” She’s firm when she says it, almost like she’s chiding you for ever considering it. For a moment, you look each other in the eye as your breaths poke holes through the silence. It’s a little chilling yet a little thrilling, and you can’t help but take in the way she looks in the dim light of the night. In the midst of stumbling in, neither of you ever considered turning on the lights. She’s painted in soft strokes of moonlight, eyes shimmering in the gentle glow of night. Beautiful. She’s always been so beautiful, but never this beautiful. “I know you want to, but don’t,” she reiterates. You’re a little disappointed, but there are, of course, other ways to leave your mark on her.
And so your hand snakes down and finds its way between her parted legs. Your other hand slithers around that small waist, and it holds her in place as your fingers press against the fabric of her panties. In your arms, she tenses—bristles as you start to feel the outline of her lips against your fingertips. You increase the pressure against her heat. Minju tilts her head back and moans.
Fuck. You don’t think you’ve ever heard such a sound: angelically filthy, airy and soft. It’s already hard enough to grasp the concept of her, one of your closest friends that you haven’t seen in a few good years or so, propped up on her own dining table while you trace the outline of her pussy through her panties and leave her squirming atop the wooden surface. Add the small choked up cries she’s making into the mix and by God do you have a recipe for a haze. Where to begin? This situation shouldn’t be real at all; none of this should be real, this should be a dream. This heat against your fingers. The sight of her mouth parted and her body twitching with each stroke of your fingers. The very realisation that this is as real as it gets, and it’s unfolding right before you by the second.
“Why are you so fucking wet?” you ask, noting the way she shudders as you let your finger hover over the base of her opening for a bit. Her thighs—pale skin painted in the lightest shades of moonlight—twitch in anticipation, almost as if the blood in her veins is loading up inside there and would shoot forward the moment you start moving again. She can’t predict what you’re gonna do next, and it’s killing her in a way that brings you this sick satisfaction. Minju whimpers; you chuckle. “Do you really want it this bad Minju? Has no one touched you like this before?”
(Her bottom lip quivers as she struggles to compose herself. She breathes: raspy and staccato. Strands of hair hang in front of her face, the same one that has this pleading look superimposed over bratty frustration. It’s hot, really satisfying and really challenging you take some liberties with her. Sure: it’d be really fun to just stuff her full of cock and just have your way with her right here and now, but where’s the fun in that? You’ve known her as this smart, preppy girl who’s always gotten what she wants because she’s smart and rich. You can't remember the last time you saw her fail. Maybe she did face a bit of a setback when she was starting out in university, but as far as you’re concerned, she’s in need of a bit of humbling.)
It’s all enough to drive anyone mad really. So you can’t really blame her when she cries oh god just fuck me already! at a volume that would probably get her a noise complaint from one of her neighbours. It’s a little jarring, and it makes you stop and look at her for a second or two. She looks back at you, giving you those fuck me eyes that you didn’t know she was capable of as she starts to bite down on her lower lip.
With that face and that aura, she—whether unwittingly or not—painfully reminds you of Chaewon. That same bratty persona mixed with that undeniable look of need—it’s killing you to look her in the eye a she starts to grind herself against your fingers, pleading you to get on with it—please, please, please just strip me and fuck me and make me your good little toy—while she fixes you with that pleading look. Her doleful eyes coax you, and it feels dangerous to even look into them, let alone gaze into them as pulls you closer with her legs and grabs your shaft through your underwear.
“Tease me all you want later,” she squeezes your cock—sweet, sinful pleasure. Those weapons of a pair of eyes slice into the deepest depths of your mind, appealing to the darker part of you to let loose and take control. She wants it, needs it more than anything else right now. “You can finger me, eat me, whatever… Just put this fucking cock inside of me and make me scream before you do anything else.”
She’s given you a list of priorities, and they really speak volumes of her personality. Funnily enough, it’s pretty in line with her character: goal oriented and focused on that success rather than the process. You wonder what would happen if you refused to give her that final goal she so desperately craves; what it could do and to what extent would it break her. You take some time to consider this as you slip your hands into the spaces between the upper buttons of her shirt.
“Minju.” You call her name out of politeness in wake of what you’re about to ask her. “How much was this shirt?”
The glint in her eye when she catches your implicit message is enthralling. She pushes her bottom lip behind her front teeth; fixes you with this look that tells you that she's' about to say something that’s gonna satisfy your desires just because she can and she gets off on it.
“It’s Prada,” she tells you. “But I can always get another.”
You grin, and with more strength than intended, you pull against the fabric of the shirt. Unfortunate buttons go flying as the fabric parts forcefully like velcro ripping apart. Nothing tears (surprisingly), but the shirt is most definitely unwearable for a while. You hope she knows how to sow.
She gasps when the cold air of her apartment suddenly hits her skin. You can’t really blame her — it all comes in a rush after she is stripped from her sole piece of clothing. She takes a moment to assess the damage done to her clothes. Her eyes wander along the naked strip of fabric her shirt buttons once called home. Then she looks at you, smirks.
“Hot,” she muses, lowering herself down till she’s on her elbows. “But I think you can do better than that.”
You like a good challenge. And with not too much kindness in your voice, you tell her to get rid of the rest of her clothing. There’s a smouldering look in her eye, and a smirk on her face as she tosses her hair out of her face. Then while she holds your gaze, she hooks her fingers into the waistband of her panties and pulls them down — keeps going till there somewhere far enough down those long, creamy legs for her to kick them aside.
“That was a limited edition piece, can’t have you tearing that,” she explains, looking at the freshly discarded article of clothing. “My bra though? I got it at a convenience store in Japan. Do your worst.”
The bra doesn’t survive. It’s a shame really… It looked kinda nice.
And basking in your gaze is a very naked Kim Minju, her skin practically glowing on top of her table as she looks up at you with those eyes of want. You take a moment – admire the supple curves in all the right places and the way her skin seems to ripple a little as she shudders. Three’s no doubt in your mind that the surface she has her back against is cold as hell, but  Fuck… this probably was the best place to have her like this – she looks like a fucking meal.
“You know,” you whisper, your index finger roaming up her body – starting from the base of her belly button and making its way up an imaginary line that you’ve drawn on her body. “You’re kinda fucking perfect.”
She chortles. “Um… Contradictory much?”
“Spare me the lesson,” you mutter, cupping her cheek firmly yet tenderly. You have no idea what this feeling in your chest is right now, but you do know that it’s gonna take you down a path you never explored before. “Now I just wanna make a mess out of you.”
You don’t wait for a reply. Heck, you don’t even give her time to craft a reply. No teasing, no testing the waters; you just get your cock in your hand, line it up with her slit and pump yourself into her for the first time.
And even though she has this look of offence on her face, you know that this is probably the hottest thing she’s ever experienced. It’s a non-verbal statement that tells you that: her eyes burn with a heat you often see in Chaewon when she’s just being a downright bitch, yet her lips part and her head tilts back to let a moan be drawn out from the deepest parts of her. You don’t quite know how you’re processing these cues with the novel sensation of her hot cunt around your cock (it squeezes and pulses at just the right places that make you twitch inside her and it’s like… So fucking hot in there) that welcomes you into the depths of the woman beneath you. Every little thing is just hitting like a fucking sledge hammer now. You can feel her heat around you, burning like fire in this cold apartment. Alcohol must really be setting in.
Minju takes a moment to collect herself, and after she does, she looks at you to send another non-verbal cue your way.
This one means fuck me.
This whole situation is far from sophisticated; a little more filthy than you care to admit. It’s not what you’re used to with the other women you’ve been with. Eunbi likes teasing, Ryujin likes to play around a little; Karina is just downright submissive, Yeji a little more subservient than she lets on; Chaewon is… well, Chaewon – bratty and really whiny when she fucks.
But Minju? This is a whole new chapter for you.
First impressions tell you that she’s just downright needy; a little bratty like Chaewon as she starts to whine a little while you start pumping in and out of her slick heat. Her legs lock around your waist, feet crossed behind your back. She pulls you in each time you thrust into her – pulls you deeper into her warmth and moans a little louder when you hit the right spot. You match her speed, and soon you're thrusting her with firm, fast strokes. It makes her throw back her head for a bit, a cry leaving her straining throat as she sets rolls with this tempo.
Her torso remains supported on her elbows, her small breasts that sit proudly atop her chest bouncing with each smack of your crotch against hers. She realigns her gaze with yours. Her eyes stay wide open, gazing right into yours as she holds your attention with this debauched gaze that makes your mind fill with wild, wild thoughts. You’re fucking her on the table, but you’re thinking about what it’d be like to have her against the wall, against the counter, on her knees; riding you on her couch, jumping on your cock on her bed…
This woman is gonna fucking ruin you.
“Chaewon said that the dick was fucking good,” she’s quipping between her moans, and you know it’s taking considerable effort for her. She has to close her eyes when she speaks, and in doing so she frees you from her hypnotic gaze. “No that it’s actually filling me… I think she could be downplaying how good you feel.”
And you have to smirk. “You think so ?”
Her eyes snap open, traps you yet again. “Do you have any idea how fucking hot you feel inside me?” she gasps. You have to admit that it sounds a bit more like she’s demanding you to figure out how good she feels right now/ ow fucking good your dick feels in my pussy? How–ngh… How good you fuck me?”
Emphasis on ‘fuck’ tells you that she likes this pace, this no-nonsense playing field that you’ve established from the moment you filled her for the first time. She never struck you as one to like it rough, someone who likes it when it kinda stings when you fill her. Then again, you didn’t expect her to hold feelings for you either, so you guess the world just has a bunch of mysteries that you have to unpack in your own time.
Currently, you’re just trying to unpack how fucking good she feels around you.
“You’re fucking filthy,” you hiss through your teeth. “Never knew Miss valedictorian liked being railed like this.”
She smiles through her pleasure – a half-curl upturn of the corners of her lips as she lets the sighs and gasps freely depart from her open lips. It would be a cute smile if it weren’t for the fact that you’re literally fucking her on the same surface she eats on. Not that she has any problem with it; it’s just kinda telling of how badly she wants you right now. Pretty hot honestly – feels a little dark but you like the fact that she just couldn’t wait and just found the nearest flat surface she could spread her legs for you on.
“I’ll let you in on something,” and it really looks like she’s pushing back moans in her throat. She isn’t very successful. Effort is commendable though. “As sweet as any girl looks, we all kinda like being fucked like a slut.”
You manage a chuckle. “And does that apply for you?”
You love the way her eyes gleam. She lets herself lie flat on her table.
“That’s for you to find out.”
And you understand why she’s laid herself across the table for you. It’s an invitation to her body, a request for you to touch the parts of her and hold her like she’s yours. She’s watching you intently, waiting to see what you’ll do while you keep pumping in and out of her. You respond by grabbing her shoulders, pulling her up straight till her chest flushes against yours. Her hands wrap around your neck, her breath in your ear.
“Come on you pussy,” she drawls. “I’m not Chaewon or Eunbi, so stop fucking me like you’d fuck them.”
Your hands find purchase in the firm flesh of her ass. Your fingers dig into the skin.
Then you’re fucking her – hard, fast. It takes her by surprise, by storm. Her gasp is strained, her voice louder in your ear now that she’s dug her chin into your shoulder. Her arms tense around your neck, her thighs tighten around your waist. You can feel her start to tremble as she struggles to keep herself upright. She holds you tighter, closer. She starts to moan more than she gasps. Her sighs turn to whines, her whines to cries and then to keening.
In a matter of seconds, she’s found herself lost in her own pleasure, willingly and blissfully letting herself slink beneath the steadily growing stream of perverse want and need that flows from her mouth. She doesn’t have any smart quips left in her, no lessons or lectures – just this burning ache for you and the meat between her legs. You can feel the throbbing in her pussy, hear the squelch of your cock sliding between her lips getting louder as you go faster. You want—so badly—to lose yourself in her warmth and her heat. You want nothing more than to just put your lips on hers and kiss her through this wave of passion you’re feeling.
So—against her wishes—you put your lips on her neck, starting sucking. You sense hesitation in her body, but it quickly fades and she tips her head to the side. She lets you have your way with her, relenting against you and letting you nibble on her skin as you piston yourself in and out of her.
“I hope you’re giving me something no other girl will experience,” she rasps. She’s shaking a little, her nails starting to dig into your back. “Fuck me like I’m the one that matters. I need it.”
You lift your lips off her neck. The skin is starting to change colour. “Minju,” you don’t know how you manage, but you just do. “You’re the best woman I’ll ever fuck.”
“Mhm?” she hums. It’s a little shaky and it’s high-key hot. “Is—mphm… is my pussy better than Chaewon’s?”
And there’s that common thread between her and your ex: that desire to know that they’re better than someone else. You’ll please her for tonight. “So much better.”
She quite literally twitches at that, reeling in the thought that she’s taking cock better than her friend ever would. “Ngh– am I tighter? Am I wetter?”
You move so that you can look her in the eye. “Shut up and let me fuck you, would you?”
The look in her eyes tells you that she’s proud of what she’s done. She lets her forehead press against yours. Her eyes close. “Okay… But only because I still kinda love you.”
How are you going to deal with her? With this?
You don’t. You dive back into the crook of her neck, lengthen your strokes into her. It’s all too much to handle right now. Too many emotions are in play; too many thoughts need attention. You just want her, no strings attached and no need to spout all this nonsense about love and wanting to be loved. You kinda hate her for it, so you fuck her harder. You don’t like that she’s bringing feelings into this like Chaewon, so you fuck her harder and harder till she’s almost crying.
She loves it, every second of it.
“Yes,yes, yes…” you can tell that she’s trying not to lose it all together, or maybe you’re just projecting. You can’t shake the feeling that your silence in response to her confession tells her that you’re gonna let her live this fantasy down right now. “Oh god you… Oh my fucking god.”
For long minutes, there’s nothing on your mind except her. You love the way she tenses and relaxes in your grasp, how she lets her body respond freely to your movements; the way her milky, smooth skin starts to bead with sweat, her hair sticking to her back; how her voice is kinda hoarse, how her lips claim your earlobe and she bites a little. As much as she’s frustrating, she’s entrancing. She’s hot, admittedly tighter than some of the girls you’ve fucked but also charming in her own way. Her moans aren’t the guttural type you get out of Karina or Eunbi, but more like a gentle yet kinda sordid exclamation of pleasure. Her breath is hot on your skin, a little hotter than you expect, but hot nonetheless. Her slim figure rocks against you, jolting when you get yourself nice and deep in her cunt, turning her into a nice bundle of nerves.
“I… Fuck… I’ve wanted this for so long,” she gasps. “But you’re here, actually here and… Fuck you’re just so fucking hot.”
And you know that’s her way of telling you that you’re better in real life than you ever will be in her wildest dreams. She’s turned on by the fact that you’re here, in the flesh and fucking her the way she likes it. Even though she surrenders to you, she’s gotten her way tonight. You’re fulfilling her desires just by being here, and your rock hard shaft drilling its way inside of her is really just a cherry on top.
(She’s kinda right: as sweet as she is, she likes being fucked like a slut.)
Even though it’s kinda her fault, Minju is your distraction, your break from it all. You give in: lose yourself in her smell, in her skin, in her flesh.  You let yourself get absorbed in it all — her gasps, her cries; the way her pussy only gets tighter, the way her legs shake around you; the fire in your chest that drives your cock in and out of her cunt in firm, long strokes; the heat of her body against yours as she starts to tense in your grasp.
Then she’s cumming — a hot mess on her dining table as cock spears into her through her orgasm. Her walls clench around you, her nails claw at your back. She cries your name. She says she loves you over and over and over till the faculties of her speech give way and she goes a little slack in your arms. You revel in it, do your best to block out the parts that make you ache a little on the inside; fuck her through the wave of an orgasm she goes through and relish the feel of her tight pussy getting tighter and wetter. You don’t know how to put it into words, but all you can really say is that she’s fucking beautiful through it all – smutty art or maybe even straight up porn.
When you join her, you don’t even ask if you can cum in her; she’s gotten enough of her way tonight. With a final few pumps into her, you relent to the tingling in your shaft and bury yourself inside her. Your grunt is rather guttural, your load hot inside of her slick wet cunt. She sighs, almost as if she’s welcoming it into her body. You savour the moment. It’s a treat for yourself.
You stay like that for a bit — leaning against Minju and panting while you gather yourself again. She gently strokes your hair as she smiles at you, more than happy to keep you with her as you regain your bearings.
And just because she can, she kisses you on the cheek.
You can’t meet her gaze much longer. You turn your gaze downwards as you remove yourself from her pussy, watching as the mix of your juices flow out of her freshly-fucked cunt. She hums as it flows down from her slit.
“Forget what I said okay?” she requests, sounding remorseful as she takes your cheek in her hand. “You’re good at not taking things to heart, so do that for me, would you?”
You manage a small smile and nod.
Then she kisses you, softly.
“Thank you…” she breathes. “You just helped me delete some emails to you that I can never bring myself to send.”
***
You’re kinda in shambles to be honest.
Minju’s showering, which means that you have enough time to think about what your life has become. All these emotions are coming forth so suddenly, so quickly. You barely have time to process your school work and now this has come along and fucked you sideways. It makes your head hurt.
You decide to leave before she can get out of the shower. You can’t bear to see her again, but you do drop a text—Thanks for letting me crash. See you around—once you’re out of her apartment complex. You’re ashamed, but you were raised to know better than to leave without saying anything. But even though you do what you feel is right, something about what you’ve done doesn’t quite sit well with you.
And you’re in the park when the realisation hits. On the bench, you bury your head in your hands.
You’ve done to Minju what Chaewon did to you.
Had this one sitting in the drafts for quit some time. Realised I actually never posted it so here it is I guess. Happy New Year everyone! Have this unedited work as a gift while I work on another fic because I can.

♱ TAKE A CHANCE — LUIGI MANGIONE X READER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: your friend group takes a trip to the beach during summer break and one night, luigi just takes the chance to tell you how he feels.
WARNINGS: friends to lovers, making out, humping in the hot tub
A/N: i'll be using random names for their friends and a part of this is inspired by a scene in to all the boys i've loved before and this post
show a little loving, shine a little light on me
you and your friends have been staying at the beach for almost a week now. you'd be leaving in two days.
the six of you were currently finishing dinner and then planning on walking around the beach and getting ice cream, but things changed when the group insisted on resting and staying in the hotel instead.
as the group walked back, luigi was getting teased by the guys as you walked with the girls of the group, looking around the beach and talking.
"come on man, just take the chance while we're still here and tell her how you feel." marcus tells him and he just shrugs.
"i don't know, it might change things." luigi says with a hand rubbing the back of his neck. he was interested in you the moment you asked him for help on a computation — the way your eyes lit up when he said he'd help you and how happy you got when he gave you an example and you got it right.
he still remembered.
little did he know, the girls were also giving you the same talk.
"you never know y/n, it could be a good type of change!" they all agreed as one of the girls nudged you.
as you guys walked, you came across a souvenir shop. you stayed outside, looking up at the sky as the wind blew your hair. marcus gives luigi a look to hang back and stay with you which he was already going to do.
“hey,” luigi said from behind, startling you a bit which makes you jump. “i didn’t mean to scare you.” you both chuckle.
it was quiet between you two for a moment. you didn’t know what to say, how to start the conversation and so did he. the sound of the waves crashing and the rustling of leaves filled your ears.
until he spoke again. “are you okay?” he turns his head to look at you, inching a bit closer.
you could see from your peripheral vision that he was looking at you so you turned to completely face him. you just smile in response and nod.
“just thinking about how we have to go back to uni after all this,” you sighed, looking back up at the sky and crossing your arms. “i don’t know, i’m gonna miss it,” you glance back at him and he was still looking at you. the look he was giving you was something you’ve never seen before, it was unreadable but it made you feel something at the pit of your stomach. “i’m gonna miss everything.”
it felt like there was a magnet pulling the two of you closer and closer or if the tiredness was just getting to you and you were imagining things.
“i get that, nights where we’d just spend having fun together and not stressing over assignments,” he said softly, placing an arm on your shoulder, pulling you even closer. “i wish we could stay here forever.” he looks down at you and your heads are closer now.
tracy, one of your friends looked out for you guys and told your friends about it which got them to all smile at the pair of you, giving each other knowing looks. “it’s so happening,” marcus mouthed at the group.
you smile up at him, you notice he’s looking between your eyes and your lips. your stomach churns and immediately break away, afraid of what could possibly happen and your friends could be watching.
“we… we should head back, they’re probably looking for us.” you force out a laugh, rubbing your hand on your forearm.
after the group was done checking out the souvenir shop, all of you went back to the hotel. you and luigi not speaking a word at all. they all noticed and tried to get one of you two to talk but just got smiles from the two of you.
“i’m gonna stay in the jacuzzi for a while, you guys can go.” luigi tells the group once you’ve reached the hotel.
his gaze finds you, but your head was down, not wanting to look into his eyes. you could feel the awkwardness in the group and some of your friends glancing between you and luigi.
he sighs and parts ways with the group.
no one spoke during the elevator ride and when you guys were walking to your rooms. until tracy reached for your arm. “what happened?” she pulled you back from entering your room.
you shrug, “i don’t know. we were talking, it was good and then i felt like something was going to happen,” you looked down, playing with your fingers. “i got scared.”
she places a hand on your shoulder as a way to comfort you. “aw hun, it’s alright.“ she pulls you into a hug and then continues speaking. “but you do know, that boy does like you, and i don’t know exactly when it started, but i know he’s liked you for a while now.” the two of you pull away and she couldn’t read the expression on your face.
“i should go to him,” she nods at you. “you think he’s still there” you ask and she instantly nods, removing her hands from your body.
“yes go right now, you got this!” she says, gently pushing you to leave.
you rush to the elevator, press the button quickly, looking up which elevator is closest to your floor level. once an elevator opened, you immediately went in and pressed the button to the floor. you mentally prepared yourself for what you’d say to him.
luigi, i like you. no. that was too forward. luigi, remember when we-
the elevator doors open which cuts your inner monologue off. you focused on your breathing as you walked to the area where the pool and jacuzzi were.
and there he was. his arms up on the tub’s rim, back facing you. as you walked, it was like your heart was gonna beat out of your chest any moment.
“hey,” you said softly, him now being the one startled.
he turns his neck to look at your figure, going closer to the tub.
“hi.” he responds with a small smile on his face.
you walk to where the ladder was, climbing and sitting on the edge of the tub, taking off your shorts to put your legs in.
“i’m surprised you’re here,” he says, looking down at the pool then up at you. “thought i made you upset or something.”
you look away as he said the last part, watching the bubbles come up.
“no i’m okay. why would i be upset at you?” you looked up, his eyes still avoiding you which makes you just want to tell him how you felt already.
he bites his lip, then turns his head to face you. you can’t seem to read the look on his face, the same as earlier’s. he just shrugs. “i don’t know y/n, i just thought,” he shakes his head and closes his eyes.
and you already knew.
you took your tank top off and got in the tub completely now. the two of you sat at opposite sides of the hot tub.
“do you remember how we first met?” he asks you, opening his eyes to look at you.
you nod, waiting for him to continue.
“you asked me for help on the chemistry computation and you were so happy when i said yes,”
“and you even offered to tutor me for free,” you smile at the memory. “it was freshman year; i knew no one in class cause i enrolled late and everyone seemed to like you for some reason.” you teased, and he shakes his head with a smile on his face.
“yeah, well, what can i say, i’m a nice dude.” he joked, which made you roll your eyes and scoff jokingly. “uh, well, on that same day, i told marcus you were really pretty.” he avoided your eyes once again, and you just blinked at him.
“since then, i’ve liked you. i liked you when we were partnered up for projects, i liked you even when you made comments about my frat, i liked you when you’d give me massages when i’d get back pains, liked you even when you dated your ex and cried a whole week over the break-up,” he listed down which made you blush. it felt like he could go on and on the whole night with the list.
your gaze softened as he smiled at you.
“what i’m trying to say is, it’s always been you.” his breath hitches in his throat, the weight on his shoulders now gone after telling you what he truly felt.
the two of you looked at each other for a moment before you moved to where he was seated until you were in between his legs. the tension between the two of you could be cut by a knife. you take a breath before speaking up.
“i like you too lu.” you place a hand on his cheek and carress it. he smiles at you before grabbing your leg and wrapping it around his torso, now you were face to face with each other. the light from the pool, shining on your faces.
“there’s no one like you, y/n.” he whispers before crashing his lips onto yours.
the kiss started off slow and steady, his hands slowly moving up from your legs to your waist while you wrapped an arm around his shoulders, trying to get him closer to your body if that was even possible at your current position.
your lips were moving in sync, tilting your head a bit as you start to feel his tongue trying to slip in. once he does, he glides one of his hands to your ass, squeezing it a bit before placing it on top of his straining bulge.
he moves your hips as his tongue explores your mouth. you moan into the kiss, fingers finding its way to his curly hair and tugging on it softly.
never would you have expected this to happen during your trip, but at the same time, this is all you've wanted.
he's the first to pull away, leaning his head on your forehead, still keeping your bodies close to each other. the both of you try to catch your breath.
you giggle a little as you place your hands on each side of his face, caressing his cheeks before placing pecks on his moles and then his lips.
"come on, let's continue this in my room."
lmk if u wanna be added to the taglist!!

Like, OK, here's an analogy for what I'm talking about.
Last year I went to the zoo and when I was looking at the iguana this other woman came up next to me and said "Yuck! I don't like that!" And obviously there's much to be said about the fact that it is not animals' job to look pretty to humans and the idea that they should has done all kinds of ecological harm. But also, I genuinely didn't think the iguana was disgusting and I found it weird and sad that this woman was viewing it the way we're all told to view reptiles instead of taking the opportunity to look at it and learn about it.
That's how I feel about the way I look. I've deprogrammed myself sufficiently that while of course I know that men aren't lining up around the block to date me (although based on what happened to Gisèle Pelicot they'd be willing to rape me, no I will not EVER let that go because that is fucking horrifying), I don't think of myself as "ugly" and it's weird to me that radical feminists of all people keep basically insisting that I should. Heal yourselves. Or heal each other, whatever. Just stop looping back around to repeating the same shit about our natural faces and bodies that men say about them.
"I'm pretty with makeup"
"I'm pretty without makeup"
Radical feminism: "It doesn't matter if you're pretty at all. You don't exist to be pretty."
"Female body hair is okay"
"Female body hair is not okay"
Radical Feminism: "Female body hair simply exists and is completely neutral. Talking about whether its 'okay' doesn't even make sense."
"Presenting THIS way makes you a man"
"Presenting THIS way makes you a woman"
Radical feminism: "Nothing about the way you present makes you a man or woman. Gender isn't real."
I love that radical feminism just removes you from so many binaries of thought. It makes them completely nonsensical. Why would I analyze whether I'm pretty when it doesn't matter either way? Why is the acceptability of my body hair even a subject of discussion? It merely exists, just like the bark on a tree. Does society sit around and debate whether a tree ought to be able to keep its bark?
I've come to realize that I've been handed a ton of "either/or" choices about who I am all my life and told to make a decision on each one. And they were all illusions! I just exist. I never had to justify the way I am or even formulate an opinion on it.

Jinx NSFW Alphabet
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex) Cuddles, cuddles, cuddles. A lot of cuddles.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) Jinx's favorite body part of hers is her hair. She refuses to cut it, even if it's ridiculously long and sometimes even uncomfortable to live with (washing and brushing takes forever). But she loves her hair and she likes when you touch it. Her favorite body part of yours is your neck. It's her safe place and she likes to nuzzle your neck to inhale your scent. She also likes to leave her marks to show everyone who you belong to.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically) Be prepared for a mess because she is a squirter. Also her cum is slightly pinkish because of the shimmer (just like her tears).
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) Sometimes she stalks you. "To protect you" she convinces herself.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?) Jinx wasn't interested in relationship before she met you. She is a virgin. But you can't grow up in Zaun without picking up some of 'adults talks' so she knows how sex works and even knows about few spicy things.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying) If she is receiving then her favorite will be one that allows her to hug you. She is very clingy not only during sex but in general. If she is giving then it can be any pose as long as she can see your face. She likes to watch how good she can make you feel.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.) Can crack jokes, giggle and tease you even when she is submissive. But can get quite serious if she feels dominant and jealous.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.) Not blue as you thought it would be! She starts shaving after few intimate nights, because now she "has a reason".
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect) Always says that she loves you at some point.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon) Jinx doesn't masturbate just because her body needs to release some tension. She will masturbate only if she'll get aroused after thinking of you and only if she can't reach you.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks) Praise kink. Absolutelly loves being called good girl and being encouraged.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do) Her bed which she adjusted especially for the two of you (it's like a love nest now with bunch of stolen pillows)
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going) Besides praises she can get really turned on if you'll bite her and leave a mark. She is possessive herself and if you'll show the same possessiveness over her she'll ask you to take her right then and there.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs) Don't even think about threesome or any kind of polyamorous relationship. You belong solemnly to her.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.) Jinx learns fast enough how you like it. Expect her eyes being locked with yours while she eats you out. If you are the one giving she'll look at you too because she likes it when your eyes turn the same color as hers because of her shimmer cum.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.) Usually she prefers slow and sensual. It really helps her insecure mind when you take your time to make her feel loved and appreciated. But sometimes she can act like a total brat on purpose to rile you up and get punished for it.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.) Prefers long sessions rather than quickies.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.) If you want to try something new - she is up for it. The more ways to give each other pleasure the better. Will not take risks if it can really hurt you.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?) With shimmer running in her veins she has a lot of stamina. You gotta try really hard to get her exhausted.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?) Bought a few to try them out with you but then threw them away because she could create better ones - just perfect for you and for herself.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease) Ocassionally can tease you for fun, like in a little game. Will 100% tease you mercilessly if she feels dominant.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.) Jinx isn't shy about being loud. She'll whimper, moan and scream for you because why would she hide her reactions from you? You make her feel good and you deserve to know how much.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character) She is like 70% submissive and 30% dominant. She loves playing with your breasts, especially to lick and suck your nipples. Likes to hear her name on your lips.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes) Jinx's clothes exposes enough skin already but once she is completely naked you can fully see her tattoes which always makes you pause and admire it.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?) Chaotic. One week can be full of cuddles and chaste kisses, when on other you'll be making love every day.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards) At first, Jinx couldn't fall asleep before you (she hadn't slept well for years). But after some time spent with you, she began to get more sleep and could even fall asleep in your arms before you.

It was simple day at the arcade. You and Xavier decided to take the day off from missions and relax with some fun at the colorful arcade machines. You had won more stuffed plushies than you could feasibly carry in your arms, so Xavier held one in his hand delicately, as if he knew how much those little stuffed creatures meant to you.
“Well I better call it a day, I don’t think I can carry any more of these little guys.” You chuckled as your arms began to grow sore, even with the stuffed creatures’ light weight.
“Yeah, you’re supposed to be resting your muscles and instead here you are.” He gestured towards your arms filled with plushes. You laughed to yourself, refusing to admit he was right.
The two of you walked back to your car and you dumped all of the plushes in the backseat. As you looked at all of the adorable creatures, a realization hit you. You had no more room at your desk in the office for all of these plushes to fit.
“What are you thinking about? Or are you just admiring your growing collection?” Xavier spoke from beside me. I turned to look at him for a few moments. The Xavier during missions was so different yet the same as the Xavier outside of work. You had come to know him as a close friend, and even shared some flirtatious moments. Most of the time, you pushed those moments aside and decided to see him only as a coworker. But flirtatious fantasies sometimes danced through your mind.
You envisioned his desk at the office. Completely barren; no pictures, no decorations. A piece of furniture completely devoid of any color or personality. You grabbed one of your plushes. This one was a particularly round tomato plush. “Here,” you started, “this won’t fit on my desk, so you can have it.”
Xavier took the plush in his hand and examined it for a moment, “What am I supposed to do with it?”
You shrugged your shoulders, “I dunno, it’s up to you.”
~
For some unknown reason, after the day at the arcade you spent the entire next day thinking about Xavier. During random moments of the day, memories between the two of you kept flashing back into your mind. You would be folding laundry and suddenly think back to his arms brushing against yours like they did during a mission in the forest. You both had heard and felt fluctuations and were on guard. He held your wrist in a swift movement to keep you close. You snapped out of it and finished folding your clothes.
Another memory flashed while you were cleaning dishes. It was a particularly risky mission, and Xavier’s Evol was dwindling. His life was at risk, but he was still willing to put himself in the face of danger in order to keep you safe. When you tried to resonate with him, at first he hesitated. He wouldn’t dare you spend any of your energy or power on him. But in the end, your decision to resonate saved his life. You both thought you’d end up losing the other that day, and the silent air of the aftermath sat heavy. You held each other close, your heavy breathing mixing together.
After your days off were over, and you thought you had finally gotten over yourself, you walked into the office prepared for whatever mission Jenna was going to send you on. But then, you saw Xavier across the room. He was standing talking to another hunter, and you just about lost your mind. He was standing with his arms crossed, clad in his hunter uniform, his head cocked slightly as he listened to whatever his coworker was jabbering about. God, he looked amazing, you thought. Why were you thinking of him in this way all of the sudden?
You had gone over every small interaction, every side conversation, every slight touch that the two of you had ever shared. Was there really something between the two of you, or had you actually gone mad this time. You walked over to your desk, placing one of your newest plushes on the shelf to complete your set.
Your eyes glanced over at Xavier’s desk, not expecting anything to have changed. You did a double take when you noticed something new. A small tomato plush sat next to his computer. That wasn’t the only thing either. A square photo was stuck to the hang wall that every worker had.
Trying to be inconspicuous, you squinted at the photo. It was one the two of you had taken before one of your most recent missions. You were both dressed in your uniforms, and he had his arm around your shoulder as you held bunny ears behind his head. He was smiling, and you were sticking your tongue out. It was the only photo the two of you had ever taken together.
Your head was reeling. This couldn’t be real. You were convinced you were trapped in some Protocore induced dream. “Do you like the new decorations?” Your body jolted as Xavier spoke next to you. You turned to see a smug smile on his face, his arms still crossed.
You were too shocked to speak, but finally decided to say something as Xavier waited for an answer. “Yeah, yeah…it’s nice.” Your voice sounded more exasperated than you’d like. Xavier seemed to read you like a book. Did he know the realizations that you were having?
“Are you alright?” He asked with a slight smile. He didn’t actually seem too concerned.
“Yeah- no, yeah, I’m fine.” You stumbled over your words, refusing to make eye contact with him. You saw a slight twitch in his bicep as he adjusted his stance by his desk. Your entire face went hot. “I think Jenna wanted me to look at something in the Archive room, I’ll um…be right back.” You hurried through your excuse to leave the main office.
Your breath had quickened, but you found solace in the empty archive room. Only tech workers were really needed back here to retrieve old files on specific Protocores or important history of Linkon. Thankfully the room was empty, the only sound being your heavy breathing. You sat yourself on one of the empty counters, the space usually used for examining documents. You put your head in your hands, get it together.
You heard the handle of the door slide open, and your heart sank. In walked Xavier, still appearing smug and moving like he rehearsed all of this. “Are you following me now?” You huffed, just needing some time alone to sort through your thoughts.
“Are you done lying to me?” He retorted, moving closer to you, now standing only a few feet away.
“What are you talking about?” You scoffed in a hushed laugh.
“You’re clearly not fine. What’s going on?” He still held that dumb smile on his face, and your brows furrowed.
“Are you actually concerned for me? Because you’re smiling. Do you know you’re smiling right now?” You asked in a rushed tone; you’ve never seen him behave this way.
He let out a deep sigh, his eyes rolling in exasperation. "Do I have to explain everything to you?" He took a step closer, his body now towering over you as you sat perched on the counter. He leaned down, his hands planted firmly on either side of your legs. Your faces were mere inches apart, and the intensity of his gaze sent shivers down your spine. “Do I have to explain why your face flushes when I get close like this?”
Gently, he reaches out and places his warm hand on your knee, caressing it with gentle strokes. With a slow and deliberate movement, he begins to trace a path up your thigh, his fingertips leaving a tingling sensation in their wake. Gradually, his touch becomes more confident and sure, sending waves of desire rippling through your body. “Do I have to explain how your breath quickens when I do this?”
He leans in, his breath warm on your neck as he speaks in a soft whisper only meant for you. You can feel the heat radiating from his lips, and the gentle brush of his words sends shivers down your spine. His breath carries the scent of mint and musk, enveloping you in a cloud of desire. The closeness between you is palpable, and every nerve in your body is electrified by his presence. “Or can you put the pieces together yourself?”
“Xavier…” Is all you can think to say. Your breathing was quickening, and your face was flushed.
He sighed, his lips just barely grazing the start of your jaw, “I’ve waited and waited for you to finally feel what I’ve felt for so long.” You take your hands and slightly push his chest away.
You analyze his face and his brows furrow ever so slightly. “You mean- you’ve felt this way about me all this time and never told me?” You brought one of your hands up to the side of his face, your thumb lightly tracing around his cheek.
“Of course, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I knew you didn’t feel the same way- if you would never feel this way…” He starts, and before he can continue, you speak up.
“But now you know…”
A smile tugs at the corner of his lips, “Exactly.” He brings a hand up to your jaw and slowly moves it to the back of your neck. “Can I kiss you now?” Your eyes felt dazed as you gazed down at his lips. He brushed a thumb over the bottom of your lip, waiting. “Please, your eyes are saying yes but I need to hear it from your mouth.”
You nodded, snapping out of the haze you were in. “Yes, yes, please.” As soon as the last word was uttered Xavier brought his lips onto yours. He started slow, his soft lips moving in rhythm with yours. He was still leaning on his hands, but he moved them to wrap around your lower back. You never thought he would feel this good on your lips. You let out a slight whimper, and that sent Xavier spiraling. Like a man starved, he quickened his pace and kissed you as if he’d never get the chance again.
“Wait- we can’t do this here.” You took a moment in between kisses to center yourself and remember you were at work.
“Ugh, I don’t care,” Xavier breathed out and went back to kissing you again. Once his lips found yours for the second time you didn’t care anymore either. You wanted this feeling, this burning desire for him to last forever.
You smiled into the next kiss, “Okay,” You moved your hands into his hair, your fingers tugging on the strands slightly. He moaned lightly into your kiss, causing your back to arch.
You almost missed the door handle opening again, and you immediately pushed Xavier off of you. He stumbled back, partially in shock until he realized why. Andrew walked in, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment from walking in on the two of you. “Um- Jenna is looking for you. The mission assignments are about to be handed out.” He cleared his throat and walked out of the room.
Your own face was flush pink, and once Andrew left the room you put your head in your hands. “Oh my god.”
“Okay, you were right. Maybe we shouldn’t have done that here.” Xavier laughed to himself. You had no choice but to laugh, really.
You hopped off of the counter, your legs feeling weak. You couldn’t even think about going on a mission right now, nonetheless with Xavier. “Well,” You straightened out your uniform, “I guess we should head back.”
“Yeah,” Xavier chuckled to himself, “until next time.”
Your face flushed at his words, because you knew there would be a next time.

◟𖥻 ♡⃕ the moment i knew : percy jackson
▰▰▰ pairing: percy jackson x fem!reader
y/n keeps pouring her heart into her relationship with percy, only to end up feeling like he doesn’t give back the same effort
author: this is just a mix of every depressing song i've been hearing for the past days, so i'll just apologize in advance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dating Percy Jackson was hard, she always knew it would be. But it couldn't be impossible, not if they loved each other enough to fight for each other everytime. That's what she thought.
And oh- she should've known better, she should've noticed the change. the signs were there. And maybe, she had realized, but she just loved him that she just chose to ignore it. time and time again. ignore the way he was always late, ignore how she was always the one planning dates and him just going along with anything, ignore how he never seemed to pay attention when she was talking.
Ignore how he made her feel like she was just another thing to check off his list of responsabilities.
At first, she just dismissed it because she thought it was him being too overwhelmed with every resposability he was bearing with at camp. She was sure that he just had too much on his plate, but once he was able, he would make time for her and go back to what he used to be.
She still remembered how loving and caring he used to be, because a small part of her still had some hope of him going back to that. It wouldn't be hard, because he loved her, right?
He loved her. He used to bring her flowers, and surprise her with picnics. He used to remember everything about her, her favorite books and her favorite songs by heart. He loved cuddling with her on cold days, and walking down the beach on sunny days.
Now, it felt like that part of him was slowly slipping away and she couldn't do anything but just stand there, waiting for the crash that was bound to happen.
And it was getting harder to ignore everytime she made an effort, only to be met with disappointment.
Sitting at a table at night, tugging on her dress and slightly shivering from being cold. But she didn’t care about it, she was too distracted looking at the candles she’d painstakingly arranged, their warm glow casting long shadows across the lonely table. The food was cold now, untouched.
She'd planned this for weeks, choosing the perfect spot and decoration, being overly excited to have a moment to just be percy and y/n, just two people who loved each other. And he had promised that he'd be there.
"y/n?" a familiar voice broke her from her thoughts.
She looked up, a small flicker of hope blooming in her chest, but it quickly faded when she saw Grover instead of Percy.
And he looked uncomfortable, clearly dreading that he had to be the bearer of bad news. y/n knew what was coming before he even spoke. "he's with Chiron, there's some issues with the new campers." he said hesitantly. "but he said he'd come here as soon as he can!"
She forced a smile, waving him off. “It’s okay, Grover. Thanks for letting me know.”
As Grover left, her smile dropped. She stared down at the now-cold plate in front of her, her appetite gone. She leaned and blew the candles, knowing that there was no reason to wait for Percy.
She understood it, really. Percy was busy. Percy was important. Percy was needed. But for one more time, she just wished that he could see that she also needed him.
When he saw her the next day, he didn’t bring it up, so she acted like everything was okay. She just couldn't bring herself to waste the time she had with him for a meaningless fight, so she just enjoyed his company, thinking that he was enjoying hers as well.
She was laying on his bed, he was sitting with his back against the headboard, his hand going through her hair in a soothing manner while she spoke excited. "it's so fascinating, Percy! the way the author describes the characters. And there's this one quote 'even the strongest love can wilt without care' and it made me think that relationships-"
She trailed off when she realized Percy wasn't looking at her. His eyes were fixed on Riptide, he was holding the pen between the fingers of his free hand, and he didn’t even look like he he was paying attention.
Her heart sank, and she fell silent, the excitement draining out of her. She waited a moment, hoping he’d realize that she had stopped talking, but he didn’t. Instead, he just nodded absently and muttered "That’s nice."
y/n forced a smile, once again trying to ignore the sting. She couldn't bring herself to blame him, maybe he was tired or maybe he had too much to think about. Either way, she didn’t keep on talking as she silently went back to her book.
Later that day, the book came again into the conversation, but not because she brought it up. He was helping her carry some things to her cabin when his gaze fell on the book of his hands. "Hey, you didn’t tell me you were reading a new book."
Suddenly, the book felt too heavy, pressing uncomfortably against her arms. "I did tell you." she replied quietly, trying hard to hide her disappointment.
Percy furrowed his brow. "You did? Huh. I must’ve... I don’t know, I guess I forgot." He gave a sheepish laugh, as if that would lighten the moment.
She lowered her gaze to the ground, her chest tightening. How could she mean so little to him that he couldn't even remember something she had told him hours ago?
And she still didn’t say anything about it, because she felt like it was stupid to even bring it up. Maybe she was overreacting and she didn’t want to make Percy feel guilty about it.
Sometimes, she saw glimpses of the old Percy back. When he sneaked on her bed after a long day just to rest with her because he missed her, when he kissed her goodbye once he was called over to help with something, when he hugged and lifted her up when he was happy or when he asked her questions about something she was excited.
They were okay. She had been sure they were okay.
Now she was spending the night of her birthday sitting by herself on the strawberry fields, the faint scent of fresh berries filling the air. She picked at the grass absentmindedly, the weight in her chest growing as she, once again, let her thoughts wander back to him.
She was suddenly brought back to his birthday, months ago she had spent weeks planning Percy's birthday. She had made sure she had the perfect gift, she baked his favorite cupcakes and organized a surprise party with his friends.
And when Percy walked into the pavillion, his smile made it worth it. The whole night, he stayed by her side, holding her close, stealing kisses, sharing stories with her and making sure to thank her every moment he could.
She had been so excited for her birthday. She loved birthdays. And now, here she was. Alone. Forgotten. Realizing just how wrong she had been by thinking that everything was okay.
Percy had only stopped by her cabin in the morning to hand her a gift and apologize. "Sorry, I couldn’t do much. Chiron needs me to lead a meeting about patrol schedules." Then, after a quick kiss on her forehead, he was gone.
He didn’t even wait for her to open the small box, but it was good he didn’t, because he would've seen the disappointment on her face when she opened the small box and found a bracelet. It was pretty, sure, but not her style at all. There wasn't even a birthday card inside.
Now the bracelet pressed uncomfortably against her skin as she stared at it with tears gathering on her eyes, waiting for him to show up. He would show up, right?
But he didn’t. He didn’t surprise her. He didn’t show up. And she stayed there, sitting by the fields with her heart feeling heavy in her chest because that was the moment she knew.
She had fought for him, everyday she had fought for even a tiny bit of his attention. For so long, she had convinced herself that the glimpses of the old Percy were enough to keep her happy. But she couldn't keep doing that. She couldn't keep on being the only one fighting for a relationship that wasn't working. She was tired. And he didn’t even see it.
Her mind replayed the happy moments of their relationship, each memory tinged with a growing sadness. She thought about the way he used to look at her like she was his entire world and how now, his gaze rarely lingered. The way he used to laugh with her, hold her hand, and remember the little things: her favorite flower, her favorite song, her favorite way to spend a lazy afternoon.
All of that gone.
What had she done wrong? why had he stopped loving her? wasn't she deserving of the same love she gave to him?
Tears streamed silently down her face as the truth settled in her chest like a weight she couldn’t lift. He had lost her, and the worst part was that she wasn't even sure that he would care about it.
The next day, she was just grateful enough that it was time for campers to go back to their houses for the school year. She had already packed her stuff, and the only thing left to do was the one she was dreading the most.
When she slipped into Percy's cabin, he wasn't there. Of course he wasn't, he was probably busy somewhere around camp. It was better this way, she tried to convince herself once she placed the letter on his pillow before she left.
Percy's morning had been filled with things he needed to finish before he had to leave. When he finally had a moment for himself, he went directly to his cabin because he had to pack his things and then go help y/n with her bags.
But what he found when he was packing his things was a letter placed neatly on his pillow, at first he thought maybe it was some cheesy way for y/n to say goodbye. But once he opened it and finally read it, his whole world stopped for just a moment before he was bolting out of the door.
He was able to find her just as she was leaving her cabin, her bags on her hand. She stopped right on her tracks once her eyes fell on him, and that dreadful feeling settled once again in her stomach. She had hoped that she would avoid this, but one small part of her already knew this was coming.
Percy stopped in front of her, the letter crumbled in his hand. "You were just break up with me through a letter and leave?” he asked, his voice breaking. "you weren’t even going to say anything to me?"
y/n dropped her bags only to cross her arms protectively against her chest. "to be fair, I didn’t think you'd notice if I left." she replied softly, her words laced with quiet pain.
He opened his mouth to defend himself, but he wasn't able to find the words. "That's not fair."
"you know what isn't fair, Percy?" she replied, her voice weak. "I have spent months giving you my every moment, hoping for at least some kind of love back, and every single time, you've shown me that i'm not a priority in your life. That's what's not fair."
Percy opened his mouth to respond, but she cut him off. "I've made you my world, Percy, Do you even realize how much I’ve waited and hoped that you’d start putting even a fraction of the effort I have into this relationship? just for you to show again and again that you don't care."
"Of course I care!" Percy replied, desperation laced on his voice. "I love you, how could I not care? i've always loved you"
She shook her head, tears pooling in her eyes. "Loving someone isn't always enough Percy, maybe you do love me." she had to pause to take a deep breath. "but that doesn’t mean I feel loved by you. I need someone who’s going to show up for me, who’s going to fight for me the way I’ve been fighting for you. And you've already shown me that you can't be that person"
"I can!" He insisted, taking a step closer. "We'll work on it, I know I can, just don't go before we can fix this, please."
y/n wanted to believe he could change, she wanted to go back to being that girl who ignored his indifference and lived happy everytime she got a tiny bit of attention. She was so close to just falling into his arms once again, but then she thought back on having to spend her birthday alone, crying, wondering why he couldn't love her the right way. And she couldn't just go back to that.
She stared at him, feeling how her heart broke all over again. "It's too late, Percy. I can't fight for you anymore, i'm exhausted"
"Please" he pleaded, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Goodbye, Percy." she mumbled taking her bags again to finally walk away from him, her heart feeling heavy in her chest.
It hurt. But she knew she couldn't keep on begging just to end up being a footnote in the story of his life.

Seong Gi-hun (player 456) x player!reaader headcanons (season 2)
Tumblr media
Author's Note: I woke up with notes on my other Gi-hun post and watched season 2, got hooked again, and decided to write this. I hope you'll enjoy it! Click here for a masterlist because there's more to come.
- The innocence from the first game is lost once and for all. He's unintentionally less approachable now, always stoic, always tense. After the first game, some thought he was either crazy or suspicious. Your gratitude for his help during the first game surpassed any way you pictured him before. So you decide to keep an eye on him.
- Gi-hun is too focused on the game system and guards to notice you studying him from time to time. He's both amazed and worried about how different the players are from the first time he was there. But if there's one thing that remains the same, it's the sudden greed when the prize is getting higher with each elimination.
- But he doesn't see that in you. After the first game, you understood the gravity of the situation and forgot about the money. The moment the piggy fills with money and everyone is in awe except for him, you look around and your eyes lock with his. He finally notices you then and there. Why? Because you're the only one not looking at the money anymore.
- The second time he will notice you is when you won't eat well because of all the stress and shock. Gi-Hun silently approaches you, sits next to you, and calmly explains how you must eat to have energy for the next game. Despite his stoic tone, you can see worry in his eyes.
- During one night, when he is the only one awake to watch around, you join him in silence. That's when you start opening up to him more. He wasn't expecting it at all.
- He will never judge your reasoning for entering this wicked game. Gi-hun will just listen and try to show understanding.
- Since then, you stayed close to him. He didn't mind it at all. Plus, his mind was already busy with plans and possibilities to save as many as he could.
- You'd think that he might've developed trust issues but his heart didn't allow that. Not when he got attached so fast. You were always there to support him or help him find the right words to convince other players to stop the game from continuing. Slowly, you become something like his confidant even if he forced himself to be cautious around other players.
- When he opens up to you, he opens up about his experience first. He's done it before, telling people what he went through with this damned game but no one asked him how he feels after everything, except for you. He's stunned. It feels like you somehow made your way inside and he's powerless, he can't do anything about it,
- His hands twitch and his body tenses every time you risk getting hurt. He's not even aware of how ready he is to rush to you and help if you need it. But the others are aware. Some will notice how you two simply gravitate closer to each other. Watch out for a jealous-looking Hwang In-ho (player 001).
- Seon-Nyeo (player 044) talked to you two about how you are doomed because of a curse and other scary spiritual details, the way she does with everyone. Gi-hun was unfazed but his eyes softened when he saw you a little bit worried and disturbed. He comforted you, put a hand on your shoulder, and gave it a reassuring squeeze with a half smile (it's still hard for him to smile again, but he'll do it for you).
- He promises you that he'll get you safe out of there, every day and every night.
- Whatever you two will have, he will insist on being kept secret so you won't be in any additional danger because of him.

Oh I don't think I've seen the addition, SO TRUE, Makoto is very selfless in a very selfish way, he doesn't want anyone to die, even if they're the worst people humanity has ever known, because they are people. The worst you can get from him is him admitting to not feel overly bad they died, see his reactions to Celeste, but even then he's still upset and frustrated because she was a human being and no human being deserves to die. Not Celeste, not the Remnants, and not Junko.
Makoto cannot be conflated with Future Foundation, because Makoto constantly butts heads with Future Foundation. He does not like Future Foundation very much, he doesn't trust it, he doesn't really like the people there it seems, and they don't like him either. They're basically forced into working together because Makoto has the brand and Future Foundation has the resources. Even then though, they are ALWAYS at each others throats.
Even before DR3, you see hints of that in the emails Future Foundation sent Makoto in Goodbye Despair in how they assume he was tricked by the remnants, but at the same time they had forced the remnants onto him before they knew they were remnants because they were vaguely the same age.
This also gets mirrored more in UDG when you see that people are NOT really fully sold on Future Foundation, distrusting it, and while some of that is propaganda by Towa, the general vibes of "we cannot trust Future Foundation" are everywhere when they even vaguely get brought up, and there's got to be more to it. Future Foundation needs Makoto for their image, but they do not respect Makoto, and they especially don't respect any of the survivors outside of like maybe, Byakuya and Kyoko somewhat.
Toko is STILL running around in the same ragged outfit in UDG, and while Toko is unhygenic, at some point that's gotta stop being an actual choice and more they straight up might not have other clothes for her because it's gotten REALLY ragged and I'd like to think by that point she'd at least put on a fresher version. The survivor and Future Foundation are not friends, they are extremely uneasy allies, ones that Makoto was more then happy to cut ties with for GBD.
However besides that Makoto is very much a person struggle to understand or connect to, which you can see in Chihiro's FTE's where Chihiro notices they've been doing all the talking and Makoto hasn't had any chance to talk about himself, then has to directly ask Makoto to actually talk about himself, and even then, HE FORGETS HE SAID HE'D DO THAT it takes THREE free time events to get Makoto to open up AT ALL to Chihiro despite Chihiro clearly wanting to know about him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which even when he DOES he barely says anything about himself, one of which is just a straight up self deprecation, before the conversation shifts BACK TO CHIHIRO'S PROBLEMS
Tumblr media
Actually, there is one other really interesting bit here when Chihiro addresses their issues with inferiority and Makoto actually opens up a bit because it's in the name of Chihiro's problems, not his own.
Tumblr media
Makoto directly states that he feels inadequate and ordinary, forgettable even. He's painfully aware that he's just, average. Then when asked how he overcomes it, he straight up says he doesn't think he can, and instead he just accepts it and doesn't let himself think about it. Saying he's accepted it and just distracts himself, which very much implies he has not in fact, accepted it. Makoto displays these SAME BEHAVIORS as the Ultimate Hope. He throws himself into bigger and bigger hard projects, things that let him forget.
Makoto is actually has a lot of avoidant personality traits at times, and they make up some of his worse self deprecating habits. So of course he sees a situation like Junko's or the Remnant's and just, be avoidant about what they've done. Downplaying, or denying, or talking around it, he does not let himself come to terms with anything, because he runs from it. He doesn't think about what they've done, he focuses on the problem of how to save them.
Really, it's a willful ignorance even, he knows logically what they've done, and says he accepts it, but refuses to process it on any emotional level and doesn't think about it. He goes "well they've done horrible things, and i accept that so lets just not let them die" then doesn't actually process what any of that... actually says and means. What they've actually done, what it means to let them live and let these terrorists who have tortured thousands of people, one of which who has led to the downfall of basically an ENTIRE nation, casually live on a deserted tropical island by themselves.
The ethics of whether he did the right thing are not could be debated for fucking hours with no solid conclusion one way or the other. Especially since he fucking leaves before he can even... confirm that the other remnants won't wake up as remnants. Really, his avoidance is what leads him to these great feats of hope, and there is hope don't get me wrong, he's very much an embodiment of hope and a lot of how he avoids has roots in that overwhelming Hope he's capable of. He's still distracting himself from what that means though, still running from himself and the deeper ramifications of everything, still hiding behind the excuse of just being some average person.
He doesn't come to terms with what he is, and what he's doing, because he doesn't think he can cope, he can't overcome it, so he runs into bigger and bigger projects on what can seem like a whim without thinking through them, he can't stop running, if he stops running, it'll catch him, so he needs to keep running.
Junko didn't let him run though, Junko never lets him run, never lets him sit in his denial or pretending that he's just accepted it. Which is definitely one of the reason she has such a profound impact on him.
I don't even know if this makes sense anymore but uh yeah, Makoto is REALLY INTERESTING and I'm biting anyone who pretends like he's not so they can make some joke about how clearly people only Makoto because he's baby.
you ever think about how makoto naegi can understand anyone but no one understands makoto naegi. and that this is the one fundamental thing he shares with junko enoshima.

Hi I know you mentioned you being aroace just a couple days ago and I was wondering if maybe you could explain more in depth about how you found out your sexuality and what not? If it’s not too personal…
I’ve always sorta struggled since I haven’t had any crushes as a kid except for maybe one and that’s just cause ppl kept asking me who mine was… so I don’t even think it was a legit crush?? So not only do I not know who (looks, gender, that sorta thing) I would like … am I ever gonna like someone to even find that out???
I know you said Superman on the new trailer was hot ahaha so do you still experience that sort of physical attraction? I’ve been told when people question which gender they like, to pick which one looks more attractive to them but I’ve never really experienced that sort of physical attraction so I can’t tell that way either…
I think any thought of a crush forming was more towards their personality as well. Looks I guess are more of a second thought I think..? Even then I can’t tell if this is “you’re such an awesome person I wanna be besties with you” really strong feeling or an actual “I wanna date this person” feeling.
The only person I’ve gotten really close to discerning it as officially crush was someone from work who was older by a good amount… which can be/is pretty weird.. Lots of people my age are just a little too crazy for me.. I guess??? Idk and even now I can’t tell if that was just “glad to have someone as a friend sorta thing. I’m really sorry if this is too personal and u don’t have to respond to the ask directly either I was just hoping on maybe some advice for some clarity if possible… as I get older and realize I’ve never dated/had that sorta infatuation it feels so excluding at times.
Also I am hoping for a feast AND desert with this “‘soon’ but still haven’t posted it two days later” chapter plz and thank you
I hope this made sense and wasn’t too invasive!! :(
when i was younger, i was reading about this kind of thing online and i didn't find anyone like me. i think it's about time that i come full circle and make my own post. i've got like half of my frontal lobe developed and i've been figuring out a lot of things about myself these past couple of years, and there might be someone out there who needs to hear this (´-`ʃ♡ƪ) so if anyone is interested, below the cut is a very long talk about how i figured some stuff out
when it came to my sexuality, i only started considering it when i was in middle school, going into high school. (which would be when i was 12-13). that's when a lot of my friends started having crushes on our classmates and i realized they were being serious when they said they had crushes on people. they had figured out their identities as being a lesbian or bisexual, and they had relationships. (or as close as you can get to that in middle school).
i started to panic and think that i was lagging behind. and i really started to repress my feelings about dating people and romance and what that would entail. i found out through the internet about being pansexual. at the time i thought "oh, they have the same attraction for everyone!" and i slapped it on myself because i thought it would fix everything. i even came out to my parents as pansexual and for a while i left it at that.
i had an idea of romance. i shipped characters in media and i knew that my parents really loved each other. there were a lot of examples for love in my life that weren't the best, but having two parents that actually did care about each other made me want that for myself in the future...
but that's in the future. i personally didn't think about it much because we were still kids. for a while i didn't think anyone else was being serious, that they were just trying it out quicker than i was ready for. it was a strange feeling. i guess i still believed we were playing make believe, or copying what we saw on TV or with our parents. often when my friends asked me who i had a crush on and i felt pressured, i would pick someone that i thought i wouldn't mind dating if i had to. someone would be "interested" in me and i would say "okay" because i felt like that was part of this game we all seemed to be playing. i've had a few "boyfriends" over the years that got people off my back when i had them. in elementary school it was this boy that didn't pick on me, another boy that was my parents' friend's kid. in middle school i had an online boyfriend and a couple of "crushes" on friends of friends, someone just a little far out of my circle that didn't shake anything up. my friends would help me get together with a person and they'd seem so excited for me, so i just went along with it.
then it hit me that they weren't doing it just to do it, or playing pretend. they actually felt something when they were interacting with their crushes. i started to reread books and rewatch media and really grasp what they were saying. the feeling of having butterflies inside them when they talked to each other, blushing when something was said? i thought that was about a general anxiety people get when talking to other people. but there was always something more to it that i just... didn't get. no matter how hard i tried, i didn't understand what that something was.
then started coming the pressure to do the same, to fit in. that's why i accepted a label of pansexual. it was "strange" but at least it didn't feel "broken." i could deal with people telling me that i was wrong for liking more than just boys. but to say that there was no one on the table gave me an anxiety i'd never felt before. like i would be letting down my family, that the entire course of my life would shift. i wouldn't walk down the aisle because there would be no wedding. my parents wouldn't have grandkids. my friends would go on to have lives completely separate from mine, we'd have nothing in common anymore. so i stuffed it all down and made myself believe that this wasn't who i was.
it really mixed me up because i did have a couple of "crushes" that felt real. there were a few girls i was friends with, there were boys in my classes (usually class clowns...) that i'd get excited to see every day. when i thought about dating them, it felt nice. any other time when i thought about dating someone, i'd get this awful feeling in my gut that i later realized was dread. i was fully convinced it was different from all the other times. that "different" that i didn't understand before.
it was different! but not for the reason i thought it was. those people made me laugh, they listened and remembered things about me (that i didn't get much of during that time of my life), and most of all: they didn't like me back.
there were literally no expectations in their eyes for things to go away from friendship. and i think that's what made me like them, but not as a crush. it was relief. there was always an expectation for other people (specifically boys) that if we were friends, things would stray from friendship at some point. not with these people. that relief, combined with all the other good feelings they gave me (class clowns...) made it so much easier to fall into a friendship that i didn't have with other people. and i was in denial for so long that i thought of those friendships as crushes because they were different from other friendships.
there were a couple of times that i got close to having to face my sexuality and it felt like a gut punch. there were a couple of people i was friends with (that i didn't have crushes on) that i had previously thought "if i had to pick someone" about. but when they actually told me their feelings, i would run away. in one case, i literally ran away. i changed my entire routine so that i wouldn't have to face them. and i'm a creature of habit, so of course i took that step back and asked myself why i was having such a strong reaction. my friends didn't understand why i was so panicked about these confessions. especially because before, i "liked" people and had no problem with it.
part of my feelings were that no one would actually like me (which only furthered me not wanting/not considering romance). some of the confessions that i got were fake/pranks, and it would really mess with my head. i wasn't skinny, i knew i was strange and awkward, and i could be very brash and stubborn. i had a weird sense of humor and i missed social ques. i got a lot of "you should be a lawyer" and complaints of being bossy when i was growing up and i always knew they really meant "you're a bitch." i wouldn't understand why i felt so othered from my peers like that until i learned i was possibly autistic, and i only found that out a couple years ago. combined with being plus sized and not conventionally attractive, i didn't get much breathing room. if i wasn't perfectly calm all the time, if i didn't force myself to be overly nice to people, and if i wasn't funny, i'd get told i was "draining" to be around.
i did a lot to try and fit in. i kept my hair long because people would compliment it, i tried to wear skirts instead of pants/shorts, i'd wear comfy clothes and the like so i didn't look like i was trying too hard. a lot of my personality was forced and i was the one who was being drained instead. i ended up having to get a radar for when people were just messing with me. and so when a real confession happened, there was a combination of anxiety about if they were faking or not, doubt that they could actually like me, and then a deep rooted fear about if they were being serious.
instead of the relief i should have felt when i learned it was a real confession, i still felt scared. it would be the same anxiety as if someone asked me to get on the world's tallest roller coaster in the world and i had just seen a chunk of the roller coaster fall in front of me.
that part made it even harder to come to grips with my sexuality. i thought if i gave up on being a hopeless romantic, i'd be giving in to all the times someone told me "I just don't see you dating anyone." being unlovable was a death sentence in my eyes. and it didn't help that i've lived in the south all my life. i was already strange and going to hell for a multitude of things. turning around and telling them that i was going against every expectation set of me to get married and have kids by 24????
(i should clarify that my parents had never been the ones to put this in my mind. when i came out as pansexual, they had only been confused about what the hell that was. the rest of their reaction was "i mean... we could already sort of tell." and while my parents had hopes for my future, i knew deep down that while they'd be a little sad not to have those expected memories with me, they wouldn't turn me away. and they would very likely be happy to create a whole different set of memories with me.)
i have my current friends to thank for me coming to terms with who i am. by the time i was in college i had started to question everything. my middle school friend group had been majority queer but we had gone to different schools or just faded apart. in high school, a majority of my time was spent in band. and while i was one of those people who had friends in a variety of friend groups, the closest friends i had were the people in my section that i sat next to every day. and in the present time, only a couple of them remained straight churchgoers. even though they've changed now just like i have, during high school i was a different story.
going to college opened me up to a far different experience. by this point i'd shifted from pansexual to bisexual. my college experience wasn't... ideal. or really healthy in any aspect. but meeting these people did dislodge the mindset i'd had for most of my life. and my current friends have changed my life. the fear that i had about being aromantic has now become the relief i needed my entire life. it doesn't feel broken, or wrong, or strange. sometimes i do feel sad about it, or question if this is really the case. maybe one day i'll meet someone who shows me that "different" feeling i'd been waiting to understand. but i grew past the societal expectation of needing a partner to be fulfilled in life and i'm so much happier.
life doesn't need to be about that partner. i have many, many friends and family to grow old with. i have a godchild!! one day i'll have my own house to celebrate holidays and achievements at, to host my friends and family. i'll have pets that i love and i'll have my own career, and i'll be happy because i never needed to fit expectations to be happy.
when it comes to anything sexual, it's sort of the same feeling as when i had "crushes" on people in real life. though also different? i don't look at real people and feel an attraction beyond knowing that they are attractive, objectively. i can feel attraction sometimes in a physical sense, but i have no interest in having anything personal happening between us. a fictional character has no interest in me, and so it feels safe to think that they're hot and to express it. like sure, yeah, i have a crush on them! i get giggly when Captain Smoker from One Piece shows up on the screen, and the new Superman makes me think "oh! okay!" but if they were real and in front of me? i'd probably... lose that attraction, like it was never there.
here's the kicker, though, and might sound weird at first: you don't have to put a label on yourself
yeah, i do consider myself aroace. but the world is ever changing and so is the human experience. it helps to have a basis, to understand your feelings and work through them. it's nice to be like "there is a name for this" and to find a community through that. i'm not saying there's anything wrong about figuring out your identity and saying "I'm this, this, and this!" nothing at all wrong with that. but we're all figuring ourselves out, all the time. it doesn't end when you put the label on. you have the entire rest of your life to continue learning things about yourself and the world around you. i wish i'd known in middle school that i didn't have to rush it, that i have every opportunity to take it one phase at a time. a human life seems fleeting, especially when you're looking back on your past and feeling like the time flew by. but that's just our perception of it as we look back.
what i mean to say it that it's okay to backtrack. it's okay to change your mind. it's okay to not put a label on it. it's okay to put a label on it. it's okay not to tell anyone, if you don't want to. it's okay to say "i'll figure it out." and it's okay if you don't. it's okay if you sit up in bed one day when you're 60 years old and go "that's what it is." as long as you live your life listening to yourself and not trying to meet an expectation you think you have to, then you're doing it right.
and it's okay if you lived your life like i did, and you didn't do any of that. being a human is messy and that's part of life. you're not gonna get it right the first time- but even then, sometimes you will! there's a nuance and a spectrum to everything you experience. take pride in who you are even if you don't have a clue yet. be kind to yourself. you're gonna be okay.

YangYang Masterlist || All Member Masterlist
summary: on your anniversary with YangYang, you each have surprises for each other, though it's hard to say whose is better
length: 4,865 words
tags: romance, first time (in a long time), oral sex, lingerie
Tumblr media
When you started dating YangYang, you made it very clear to him that you weren’t just going to jump into bed with him. You’d done that in the past and gotten burned by men that just wanted to sleep with you then ditch you.
With YangYang, you weren’t taking that risk. You liked him far too much to find out after having sex a few times that he just wanted you for your body and nothing more.
“Oh,” was all he said at first when you confessed that on your third date. “No sex?”
You look at him from across the table for a moment. “Is that going to be a problem?”
YangYang’s gaze touches on yours before he looks down at the menu in his hands. Your heart sinks as you fully expect him to tell you that he doesn’t think this is going to work for him.
But then his lips pull into a bright smile. He shakes his head a little, then looks back up to you. “No, it’s not going to be a problem. I’m perfectly fine with waiting until you’re ready.” YangYang reaches across the table for your hand.
“What are you smiling about?” You can’t help giggling a little as you let him pull your hand towards him.
YangYang laces his fingers through yours. “It’s just good to know that someone wants to get to know me a little. I feel like most girls I meet see the idol, just want that physical connection more than anything else. So, yeah, I’m good with waiting. I like you, and I want to get to know you more.”
There are plenty of things to do other than have sex.
Yeah, there are times that you’re making out with YangYang, or times when you’re cuddled up together, and you can feel him growing hard, but he doesn’t push you. And there are times when you’re feeling more horny, and you think about throwing all caution to the wind and just drawing YangYang in between your thighs.
You fall in love with YangYang as time passes. What began as a fascination and a crush quickly turns into solid, real love. The longer the abstinence in the relationship goes on, the more comfortable you are with YangYang in every way. You want him to see you in every way before he sees you in that way that you consider your most vulnerable.
And before you know it, you’ve been together for three years. A hell of a long time to go without having sex with your boyfriend. But YangYang has been with you through thick and thin. He’s seen you through rough patches, through highs and the lowest of lows. He’s seen you sick and tired and grumpy and angry. He’s seen you and loved you through it all. And you’ve seen him in all the same ways, supported him through his career. You feel strange when he’s not with you.
And on the evening of your third anniversary, as you’re eating dinner together, you decide that three years is long enough. You’re reached that last boundary that you haven’t yet crossed.
You’re sitting there in your shared apartment, eating a dinner that YangYang claims that he cooked himself (although you swear when you left for work this morning you overheard him talking on the phone to Kun about coming over to prepare it). The dinner is delicious, and he beams with pride every time you tell him that, so maybe he did act as chef tonight, but you just keep sitting there gazing at him while both of you eat.
The words almost spill from your lips as soon as you think them. But instead you decide to edge subtly around your true intentions.
“Why don’t you ever ask me for sex?”
YangYang chokes on his mouthful of food, and while he coughs, trying to drown his surprise in a glass of water, you realize maybe that wasn’t so subtle after all.
“I told you I wasn’t going to pressure you,” YangYang says a moment later when he can properly breathe again. “I don’t want to force you into it if you’re not ready, and I always figured that you’d let me know when you’re ready. You like to tell me what you want, I know that. And if you’ve been sitting over there overthinking things, I can promise you, I want to have sex with you. A lot. I have for a long time. I have an extensive mental list of things you do that turn me on belief, a backlog of fantasies, and I’m pretty sure I sprained my wrist one time because I couldn’t stop jerking off thinking about you.”
You snort a laugh into your glass of wine.
“I’m serious,” YangYang says with a toothy grin. “Do you not remember when I kept complaining about how sore my wrist was? I couldn’t help you move that armchair into your apartment.”
“I remember.” You take a sip of the wine, then sit the glass gently back down. “I wasn’t overthinking, though. I was just wondering what your reason was, just wanted to make sure we’re on the same page.”
YangYang nods, then goes back to eating for only a moment before his head jerks up. He stares at you. “Same page? Are we?”
You trace your fingers around the thin stem of the wine glass, smiling a little to yourself before lifting your gaze to your boyfriend’s. “I’m tired of resisting my own urges. It’s been fun to push our limits, a little bit like a very extended foreplay, teasing and edging. But, YangYang, I think I’m ready to finally fully have you.”
“Are you sure?” He asks. The legs of his chair scrape the floor a bit as he pushes back from the table, ready to go now.
“Sit down!” You laugh, stretching your leg out beneath the table to hook your foot behind his calf, pulling to make him scoot his chair back up to the table. “We’re going to finish eating first.”
You’ve waited this long, so it’s not like another hour is going to hurt anything. You both finish eating, finish off your glasses of wine. You stand together at the sink as you wash dishes while YangYang dries them.
He must be excited or nervous or something. Every now and then he’ll open his mouth while he’s wiping down a plate with a dish towel, only he’ll shut his mouth again without saying anything. You notice more than once his hands tremble when your fingers brush. He wipes his hands on the legs of his pants.
“Calm down,” you tease as you kiss him quickly on the cheek. “You’re acting like a nervous virgin.”
“It’s not that.” YangYang shakes his head, sliding his hands against your hips to keep you standing right in front of him. He draws you closer so your chest meets his. His lips hover, almost touching yours. “I want to ask you something.”
“Hmm?” You tilt your head, skimming your lips along his jaw. “What’s that?”
YangYang swallows, fingers flexing against your hips. “I can’t remember while you’re doing that.”
You flick your tongue against his pulse point just beneath his jaw, nip lightly with your teeth, and suck.
YangYang’s knees nearly buckle. “Stop that. Oh my god, I can’t keep my head on straight right now. Shit,” he moans as you keep going.
When you pull your mouth away, there’s a pretty rosy mark left behind. You lick over it once just to hear the pretty sound your boyfriend makes.
“What were you going to ask me?” You bat your eyes innocently.
“Don’t worry about it.” YangYang’s hand flies to your hair, pulling you roughly forward so he can crush your mouths together. His kiss is intense, powerful, determined to turn your blood into molten arousal — something that he succeeds at.
You consider letting him fuck you right there on the recently cleared kitchen table. It’s right there, and he backs you up until your ass hits the edge of it.
“Bed,” you murmur into the kiss. “Take me to bed, YangYang.”
In your bedroom, YangYang’s hand slaps against the wall until he finds the light switch.
“Wanna be able to see you,” he groans into the kiss when you make a soft questioning noise. “God, I want to be able to see all of you.”
You clutch him tighter, deepen the kiss, raise one of your thighs up to his hip.
Despite having been in this relationship for three years now, you’re not even certain that you’ve ever seen each other fully naked. Yeah, you’ve seen YangYang shirtless plenty of times. You’ve seen him down to his underwear. You’ve seen his dick too on the occasions when you’ve walked in on him showering or when he’s come in to use the bathroom while you’ve been in there. And he’s seen you in a bikini, has seen you when you’ve been using the toilet while he was in the shower. He’s seen your boobs on more than one occasion (walking in on you changing, the time you had a crazy swollen bug bite under one of your boobs so you had him check to make sure it wasn’t like in need of medical attention, and more).
You’d each seen bits and pieces of each other, but never all laid out like this. Never in this light — both the literal sense of the golden glow of your bedroom light, and in the less literal sense wherein you’d never seen all of YangYang’s bare skin with this sexual tunnel vision that you currently possess.
He’s all you can see, all that you care about.
“Sit back,” you tell him, pushing lightly at YangYang’s chest. “Let me show you.”
He takes a seat on the edge of your bed, hands folding in his lap as you take a few steps away towards the small vanity table you’ve got. You can see YangYang waiting patiently and eagerly in the reflection, watching your every move as you reach up to pull the clip out of your hair.
Your hair falls free around your face, and as you reach for the jewelry you’re wearing, YangYang makes a sound behind you.
“Don’t take it off.”
You turn around to face him.
“Don’t take off the jewelry I gave you, baby. I want to see you in it. Wearing nothing but that necklace, those bracelets, those earrings.” His eyes shine as bright as the diamonds adorning the jewelry he’s been gifting you with daily for the past four days. Of course you’d worn it tonight, and part of you wondered if he was planning to give you more jewelry tonight; the anniversary gift from him was sitting in a nicely bound box on your bedside table.
But you have more important things to unwrap right now.
YangYang’s hands slide to his thighs as you lift your hand to the tie fastening shut the wrap dress you’d worn for dinner. A simple tug is all it takes on the carefully tied bow for it to fall apart, and your dress falls open.
“Come here,” is all YangYang can say, the words somewhere between a command and a desperate request.
As soon as you’re within reach, YangYang’s hands are on you, sliding beneath the dress to your hips, touching, brushing his fingers along the edge of the lingerie you bought just for this moment.
You let the dress slip down your arms, pooling around your bare feet on the bedroom floor.
YangYang wastes no time in coiling his arms around you, drawing you into his lap. You lower your mouth to his, sinking into him, falling into kissing him while his hands explore your body.
This much is familiar – making out with him, being felt up over your clothes, and the feel of his erection straining against the front of his pants and pressing against you. He’s gentle with you, as if even now as you’re happily sat in his lap wearing nothing but lingerie and jewelry that you might tell him you’ve changed your mind.
“More,” you moan softly into the kiss. You reach for one of his hands where it’s cupping your ass, and you bring it around between your thighs. You’re sure you must already be soaking through the thin material covering your pussy, and judging by the sweet moan YangYang makes when you guide his fingers there.
It doesn’t take long before just touching you over the thin lingerie isn’t enough for YangYang. He drags the material aside so his fingers slide through your wetness. And he breaks the kiss so he can lower his mouth to where your nipples are peaked.
You arch into the heat of his mouth, twisting your fingers into his hair. “More,” you repeat, tugging on his hair, which draws a moan from him. And he grants your request, filling your needy pussy with first one finger and then a second, his thumb drawing circles against your clit.
Although you’ve been with YangYang for three years now, he’s never even gotten as far as this. Making out, a bit of over the pants action, that was it until today. And it feels fantastic to finally have his fingers on you, inside of you, stretching you, and sending you teetering towards orgasm already. Too close, if you’re being honest.
You need something like a distraction.
“A backlog of fantasies, huh?” You gasp, trying to distract yourself and maybe YangYang too by referencing his earlier comment. He’s a little too skilled with his fingers, and it’s going to have you cumming very soon if he doesn’t slow down. “Tell me about them.”
YangYang lifts his head from your chest. “Where should I start? Maybe with one very much like we are right now?”
And then YangYang begins talking, his voice low and sexy, and with his fingers still stroking away inside you, it actually does nothing to help hold back your orgasm. The tone YangYang’s taking as he spills out in detail the fantasies he’s had about you has your body reacting more than you’d considered.
“Are you going to cum for me, baby?” YangYang asks after a few minutes of his erotic storytelling. You’re riding his fingers, wetness dripping down his wrist. “You sound like you want to, so come on, cum on my fingers and show me how much you’ve been needing me for the last three years.”
He crooks his fingers inside you, touching just against that spongy sweet spot in your pussy. His thumb flicks against your clit. YangYang leans in and scrapes his teeth over one of your nipples, and just like that your world erupts in pleasure, a supernova of starbursts fill your vision, a series of increasingly loud moans as YangYang keeps finger-fucking you through the orgasm.
You collapse against his chest, hips rolling to take everything he’s giving you on his fingers.
YangYang laughs softly, placing kisses along your neck and the top of your shoulder. “Good?”
“Yeah,” you sigh, clutching at his arm. “So good. Now I need the real deal. I want you inside of me, YangYang.”
“Yeah?” He lifts his head so you’re face-to-face, and he scans your eyes for just a moment before dipping forward, leaving a very brief kiss, and then he’s rolling you over beneath him.
When he raises himself above you, and then removes himself from above you, you make a sound of complaint and lift up onto your elbows. “What are you doing?”
YangYang takes a few steps back from the bed, already working to undo his belt buckle with one hand while the other works at the buttons of the tidy button-down shirt he’d worn for dinner tonight. “I mean, unless you’d rather I stayed fully dressed, my love, I’m taking my clothes off.”
You stay propped up on your elbows to watch him, loving the way that YangYang shrugs out of his shirt, the way he drags off the plain white tshirt he’d been wearing beneath it. He whips the belt off in a way that honestly makes your mouth floor with saliva while you fight the urge to sink to your knees on the floor for your boyfriend. You’ll have time for that later. Right now, you need him inside you.
YangYang loses the pants, steps out of his socks, and then he’s just standing there in front of you in his underwear, his hard dick fully visible against the tight fabric.
You could probably take hours and hours tonight just exploring and observing each other's bodies. You want to sit here and drink in the sight of YangYang like he is right now, especially as he fits his thumbs beneath the back of his underwear, as he tugs them down and his erection is revealed. Again, there’s that urge to sink to your knees, to take him in your mouth, and pour praises on his beautiful dick.
But instead you bite your lip and squeeze your thighs together against the slick heat that coils in your core. God, you need YangYang now.
You flip over onto your hands and knees, repositioning yourself farther on the bed, and you feel the bed shift as YangYang moves to join you. You turn over onto your ass just in time for YangYang to pull himself over you, and together you sink back against the duvet.
YangYang’s body covers yours. His erection digs against your bare thigh, brushes against the barely-there fabric of your lingerie. Shit, you forgot you were still wearing that, and now you just want to feel all of YangYang’s bare skin against all of yours.
“Take it off,” you say, putting a hand on YangYang’s chest to stop him from pressing you entirely into the mattress. “The lingerie, YangYang. Take it off of me.”
“Fuck, uh, yeah, of course.” He kneels up then, hands curling against your thighs before sliding higher. His fingers catch on the sides of the panties before zipping higher up your sides to the lacy bralette. “God, you’re beautiful. I can’t believe I’m this lucky.”
Heat floods you – arousal and love and pride.
YangYang’s fingers just seem to slide over the bra’s clasp before it’s undone. He brings both hands to your boobs, pulling the material away with one hand while the other dives beneath to touch, just needing to feel the soft skin of your bare breast in his hand as he whispers, perfect.
Again, your body flushes with heat. You arch into YangYang’s hands, hips trying to roll down for any friction or contact you can get, but you have no luck with that.
And then he’s leaning in, leaning down. His hot tongue is on your boobs, soft lips, gentle nips of his teeth. Your body is covered in goosebumps, sensitive and coursing with pleasure with each move he makes. And as his mouth leaves your boobs, trailing lower and lower over the expanse of your belly down to the edge of those lacy panties, you can feel your heart racing, and your core is tight with anticipation.
YangYang’s teeth catch on the front of the panties. His hands hook in the material at your hips. Slowly, so devastatingly slowly, YangYang drags your panties down – lower and lower and you’re going to lose your mind, you think. You watch as his head sinks down, as the panties lower so they’re not covering anything anymore, just banded around your thighs.
YangYang’s mouth is still so warm and soft when he kisses your clit. His tongue sweeps down to gather your wetness, and you’re not the only one that moans at that. Your hands fly to his hair, and YangYang moans again into your pussy as he gets a good long taste of you. Your hips rock against his face, and YangYang lets you ride his tongue, lets you grind your clit against his mouth.
He pulls back far too soon.
You cry out, and reach for him, trying to pull him back in, but YangYang’s already backing out of your reach, dragging your panties the rest of the way down your legs. They disappear over the edge of the bed, but then YangYang is back, sliding back over you.
Bare skin meets bare skin as he supports himself over you with one arm. The other hand dips between your legs, two of his fingers sliding right back inside you.
YangYang looks down at you with a look in his eyes like you’ve never before seen. He’s absolutely in love with you, enamored by you bare for him, open and sweet and vulnerable, and he grins.
You laugh and reach up to touch your fingertips to his smile. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
“I love you,” YangYang replies, and his smile grows even wider. “You’re so wonderful, and I love you. I’m just happy to be here.”
“Just happy to be here,” you tease him a little, but you know exactly what he means. You’re so happy to have him there with you, about to take this step in the relationship, a step that should probably feel momentous after so long but instead it just feels right and easy.
You reach up, curling your fingers against the back of his neck so you can pull him down for another kiss.
You make a noise of complaint against his lips, but when you feel his penis bob against your thigh a moment later, you cut that noise off. You hold your breath and glance down.
You’ve never seen him like this before either. Sure, once you walked in on him in the bathroom, but it was just a very brief glimpse and he’d not been erect. Now YangYang kneels confidently between your legs, his erection standing slightly curved and dark in the air, engorged. Handsome.
You sigh and moan into the kiss as YangYang twists his fingers inside you just right, as he rolls his hips forward. You feel the hot glide of his erection against your thigh.
“C’mon,” you moan encouragingly. “Inside me, YangYang.”
“D’you want a condom?” He asks without hardly pulling his mouth away from yours.
“No,” you gasp, bucking your hips up. “You can even cum in me. Just buy me a pill in the morning.”
YangYang laughs a little. and falls forward to kiss you again, and you both laugh when your teeth knock together, and then he’s rolling his hips forward, one hand on his cock to guide himself into where you need him most.
You sigh when the head of YangYang’s cock slips just inside your hole, catching like a key in a lock, and he pushes in further, stretching your walls. And the friction feels better than you imagined after so long without having a dick inside you. Three years with nothing makes you feel like a virgin experiencing this all over again for the first time.
And doing this with YangYang?
Incredible.
His hands rove your hips and your thighs, sliding down to touch your clit, exploring higher to your boobs.
“YangYang, baby, oh god!” You claw your fingers up his back, and grip his shoulders as he rolls his hips against yours. His cock feels so perfect inside you, the perfect size, perfect shape, perfect curve. You know it’s a cliche, but right now, you feel like you can’t tell where you end and he begins.
YangYang presses his lips to your hair and lets out a breathy sound. “I love you. I’ve wanted this for so long, that’s why I—“
Whatever he was going to say gets cut off by a low moan as you squeeze around him, your pussy, your thighs, your arms all clenching around him at the wave of pleasure that jolts through you.
“Do that again,” you moan, trying to roll your hips to meet his thrust, hoping to recreate the angle that he just hit because it was so damn –
You and YangYang fold yourselves together, bodies pressed tightly, moans blending between your lips when he picks up the pace, his hand on your clit matching the pace of his hips, and just like that it’s over for you.
Your climax burns through your body, more intense than the one earlier. Your legs shake, nails biting into YangYang’s back. Your thighs squeeze his hips, your ankles locked behind YangYang as you arch your back, hips rocking on the bed, trying to get him deeper inside of you.
And YangYang groans, hides his face in the dip of your shoulder, and he bites down as he cums inside you.
“Oh God, oh fuck. I love you. YangYang.” The words fall out of you again and again as you come down from your high, holding him tightly, your pussy milking the last of YangYang’s cum out of his cock. Pleasure still courses through you, your stomach muscles still jolt and your chest heaves with the force of your breathing.
YangYang kisses your shoulder, your neck, your cheek, and lastly your lips.
You lie like that for a while, kissing and murmuring soft words of love to each other. But eventually, YangYang sits up, pulls away from you, leaving you empty, but that strong tether of emotion remains.
You close your legs, curling in on yourself while the last effects of the orgasm wick off of you, your whole body buzzing with the most intense orgasm you’ve had in over three years.
YangYang climbs off the bed and walks off, ducking into the ensuite for a moment to grab a damp cloth to clean you up. He returns, gentle as he cleans at the cum between your legs, leaving affectionate kisses across your thighs and belly. His hands are soft and tender as he undoes the shiny necklace from around your neck, unfastens the bracelets from your wrists, and helps you take out the earrings.
“Did you like seeing me in them?” You ask, passing the second earring into YangYang’s waiting hand. “Dressed in nothing but the jewels you gave me?”
YangYang grins. “I like it more than I should have. I think I’d like to see you in the full set again, shining for me like the star that you are.”
It’s cheesy but sweet, and you laugh, lifting up on your elbows to kiss YangYang’s wide smile.
He leaves again for a moment to put the cloth in the laundry basket, and you close your eyes, sinking momentarily back into the passionate heat of a few moments ago. The intensity of it all, the pleasure and bliss.
You can hear YangYang rummaging through a drawer for clean clothes, and when you open your eyes he’s coming towards you with a pair of underwear and a shirt. The shirt he hands to you, but he lingers a moment longer outside the bed to pull his underwear on.
You slip into the shirt and pull the collar up to your nose. It smells like him and you curl into the pillows and close your eyes, soaking yourself in the scent of your boyfriend, satisfied and settled in the moment, knowing that you finally feel completely 100% settled in this relationship, perfectly happy and comfortable and at home and in love with YangYang. And you can’t wait to have YangYang like that again, to show him all of your love to the greatest extent.
After a moment, YangYang slides back into bed, and you roll over to look at him, blinking because the lights are still on. One of you is going to have to get back up to turn them off, and it’s not going to be you.
But YangYang doesn’t look like he has any intention of it being him either. He sighs, sliding back down beside you. He drags the sheets up to cover you both, and in the soft heat that rises beneath the sheets, YangYang presses kisses to your shoulder and reaches for one of your hands.
“I love you,” he whispers softly, the words uttered like the beginning of a declaration of love, but the silence hangs afterwards. YangYang just plays with your fingers, and you watch his face and his hands. You notice the way that his lips keep twitching at the corners into a smile, like he can’t fight down his happiness about what has finally happened between you.
Outside, a car rumbles by, headlights bright and music blaring. You twist, turning to look at the window, hoping that the car keeps going and doesn’t stop to visit any of your neighbors.
Something slides around one of your fingers, and you look back at YangYang, his hand around yours, two of his fingers holding something around one of yours.
A closer look reveals it to be a ring.
Your breath catches in your throat.
“Happy anniversary,” YangYang’s voice shakes. “I thought you might like a ring to match the rest of the jewelry, but this one comes with one condition.”
Your heart is in your throat. Time feels frozen. Everything around you has gone silent except for the sound of your raging heartbeat and the sound of your breaths mingling with YangYang’s.
“Will you marry me?”

a/n: originally, this was posted as A Proposal (a T**il fic), but while I was reworking this to eliminate that guy from all of my fics, I decided to just completely rewrite this. It's still got some parts that weren't really changed, but mostly it's just the plot of A Proposal adapted and improved (in my opinion) to this
I hope you enjoyed! I liked writing this because it was the first thing I've actually written in a while

just to give my 2 cents (not that it particularly matters), but i honestly disagree with this because it requires a hierarchical view of relationships which i don't think applies well to vbs (and is frankly, amatonormative, but that's a whole other tangent i won't go on here)
they do all care about each other equally. they just care about their partners in a different way from their teammates. the relationships are different, but one is not more significant than the other; especially when we get into specifics.
(event spoilers below, i labeled them in the tags)
for example, you made the statement that only an's singing will make kohane's heart pound, but this is not true. in fact, during kohane5, we are treated to this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(tls by lozy bug, this is from chapter 6 of over rad squad)
there's also the fact that in main story, kohane showed incredible amounts of concern for akito and touya and did everything she could to help them even when she was under the impression that they sabotaged her and an. there's also akito supporting an in various events, the fact that in akito3, she was the one to give him the dream of "surpassing rad weekend" rather than just "i want to put on a good event like that", and the implication he wanted to team up with her during vbs main story. there's also touya seeing himself in kohane in main story and touya1, and her hard work trying to compose in touya3 giving him the boost he needed to continue composing. there's akito going from making jabs at kohane early on to wholeheartedly supporting her in kohane3; when an barely could— and he noticed that in resonant town and was still there to support her through her insecurities. there's even an4, where akito made it blatantly clear he trusted an to keep singing with them— where it was made clear that all of vbs trusted an to keep fighting, no matter what. there's kohane4, where touya was pulling the rest of them along in spite of all the backlash they faced. there's an5, where both akito and touya did everything they could to help her with her feelings towards kohane; and especially touya, who couldn't bear to see an repeat the same mistakes he did in main story— not just because their team relies on it, but because he undeniably cares about her.
this doesn't even account for earlier events, like akito1, where everyone was concerned for akito (not just touya), and i failed to mention that kohane's main conflict in kohane3 is the fact that she doesn't want to hurt akito by messing up a solo at crawl green, the livehouse he has trauma at (and even if she never learned the specifics, she clearly can empathize with it, especially with what happened to her in main story). i can list a lot more examples (like touya's an2 card story revealing that he has been worried about an this whole time up until an5, but akito wouldn't tell him anything because an was only comfortable coming to him and not touya or things like akito fes, an fes, mixed events, and other card stories) but we'd be here forever.
vbs does have two duos, yes. their partnerships are very important to their lore, and i don't think they should be undermined (and frankly i hate when people do that).
HOWEVER, i also don't think it's fair to treat the friendships they've made with their teammates as something "less important" to these characters just because the partners tend to be more openly affectionate with each other. all of them would be miserable if they weren't a team and were just still duos, if you think about it rationally. kohane would have no one to challenge her as an equal, an wouldn't have anyone to comfort her and then push her into talking with kohane, while akito and touya would likely be permanently broken up without the interference of a sekai (which only exists BECAUSE vbs are meant to be a team; that's their true feelings), and none of them would surpass rad weekend; because they'd never get the growth that they needed from each other.
anyways please don't take my argument personally, i just wanted to add my own thoughts, so i'm sorry in advance if this makes you uncomfortable
Each time someone claims that *insert VBS character* cares about their team the same as their partner, I explode. Yes, they are not *just* two duos, they're a team, but they're still two duos. Akito will care more about Toya than both Kohane and An. Only An's singing will make Kohane's heart pound. Toya won't sing without Akito. Only Kohane will be able to make An feel such strong feelings of both adoration and inferiority.
They can care about their teammates but value their partner more.

Look Who's Inside Again - j.o.
Jenna Ortega x fem!reader
"Try making faces, try telling jokes making little sounds."
Summary: This is your first time playing a major role in a movie and it's intimidating. Jenna comforts you after you hide away in your trailer.
a/n: y/f/m means your favorite media. movie, book, anime, video game, whatever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The muted sound of everyone talking fills my ears as I zone out. The first few days on set are being used to get the cast adjusted to each other. I've never had such a major role before in a big movie, to say I'm nervous is an understatement.
I already have trouble talking to people normally, how am I supposed to talk to celebrities? Especially when they're the ones approaching me. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
"Y/n?" A voice enters my head, my head perking up at the mention of my name. I meet my eyes to Jenna's. "Are you okay?"
"I uh, yeah I'm doing good." I force a smile before looking to the side, avoiding her gaze. I have never felt more parasocial in my life. How am I supposed to hold a conversation with these people, especially Jenna, when I feel like I already know too much about them and they know nothing about me.
The main cast consists of four people. Jenna Ortega, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, and I. It's one of those horror movies where it's a group of teenagers investigating something where they should die because of it, but we all know they won't because it's a movie.
"So are you excited? This is your first major role right?" I turn towards the voice to meet Finn. "This could be a big debut for you."
"Yeah I'm excited." I grab my arm, holding myself and taking up as little space as possible. "I'm mostly nervous though, a lot can happen."
I feel Jenna's gaze on me, so I turn to look at her to find a look of curiosity in her eyes. "It can be intimidating, but you can do it. I believe in you." Jenna's genuine smile meets my uncertain face.
Jenna saying 'I believe in you' repeats in my head like a metronome. This somehow makes me feel more nervous and also safer at the same time.
I just don't want to embarrass myself in front of these people, especially Jenna.
It seems the conversation continued while I was in my head. Everyone's eyes were on me expectingly. Did they ask me something?
"Sorry, what'd you guys say?" I ask, Finn and Wyatt look at each for a moment with a face that I can't tell is annoyance or uncertainty. "It wasn't important." Wyatt states.
That feeling of safety is now gone, my heart beating at a thousand miles an hour.
Was it important?
I feel my legs start to shake from the nerves, as if I could fall at the slightest inconvenience.
The nervousness replaced with anxiety and uncontrollable thoughts. 'Did I already blow it before I did a single scene? Does everyone think I'm annoying? That I'm distant?'
I find Jenna's worried gaze on me yet again, causing me to look at the ground for a moment before trying to keep eye contact with the main cast and failing. "I'll be back."
I quickly find myself walking to my assigned trailer, my pace faster than usual. When I finally find myself inside, I close the door pushing my back against it before sliding down. I sit there with my knees to my chest and head in my arms wrapped around my legs.
I already decorated my trailer to procrastinate on meeting the others. I tried my best to make it feel like home, bringing posters and collectibles from different pieces of media I enjoy. The blinds are closed, blocking the light sure, but also separating the trailer from the set.
Luckily, I also brought some string lights to hang across the ceiling. I don't know if I could handle the harsh florescent lights my entire time here.
I take a moment to try to take control of my breathing, doing the breathing exercises I've been instructed since I was little.
I'm interrupted with knocking on the door I'm leaning on. I stand to open the door to find Jenna Ortega on the other side. I still can't believe I'm seeing her in person and on talking terms.
Well, if I ever actually try to talk to her that is.
"Hey, I just wanted to check on you. It seemed like something was wrong." Her worried yet genuine glance meets mine.
"I'm- I don't know." I cut myself off to stop myself from lying, biting my bottom lip.
Jenna looks past me for a moment. "Can I come in?"
I nod, opening the door more and taking a step back. Jenna walks past me, she's wearing this nice perfume that fills the scentless trailer.
She looks around, admiring the decorations. "I like the string lights, I can't handle the florescent lights they use in these."
I close the door before approaching the built in couch. "Thanks, I actually wasn't aware of them until I got here. Luckily, I brought them from home by chance."
Jenna turns, taking the seat next to me. "Do you wanna talk about what's wrong? I understand if you don't want to."
"I-"
I cut myself off again, unsure what to say. "I don't know."
My heart is still beating to the bpm of flight of the bumblebee.
Jenna gives me a genuine smile, trying to make me feel comfortable, before glancing around the room again. Her eyes linger on the merchandise of different medias.
"How about we talk about media we like?" Her genuine gaze meeting mine. "I'll start, I really like Breaking Bad. It's kinda a guilty pleasure of mine."
My eyes slightly light up.
"I also really like Breaking Bad." I say, trying to reflect her genuineness. "I really like the character development and how much they change throughout the story."
Jenna scots a little closer. "I know right?! it's so good!" She seems so interested in the conversation.
She looks into my eyes with a smile. "Now it's your turn."
I look around the room for a moment, unsure what I should say. For a lot of my life I was told I can get annoying when I delve into my interests. It's like whenever I start talking about it I can't stop.
I don't want her to think I'm annoying, but I also don't want to tear down all the work she did to try to get me comfortable.
"I really like y/f/m, I just love the universe that they made so much and the characters." I start speaking, pausing for a moment to read Jenna's expression.
She is smiling and has this look in her eyes, like a genuine interest in what I'm talking about. My eyes feel like an open door as she looks into them.
"You can keep talking, I was listening." Her smile somehow becomes more genuine, causing a smile to creep up on my face.
For the past few minutes Jenna let me ramble about y/f/m. I soon realize I've likely been rambling for way too long "I'm sorry, I didn't realize how long I was talking." My smile fades, turning to embarrassment in an instant.
"What, no it's okay." She puts a hand on my knee comfortingly. "I was interested in what you were talking about."
I look at her eyes, her genuine eyes complimented with her genuine smile.
She is just so genuine.
"Are you sure I'm not being annoying?" I ask, insecurity laced in my voice.
She nods to me, her smile fills my heart.
I'll never get over the way she looks at me. As if she's actually interested in the conversation, interested in who I am.
I find myself looking down to the couch cushion, hiding my face. Soft gentle sobs start to escape my body, my shoulders slightly shaking.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jenna scots closer, her hand gently grabbing my unstable shoulders.
I sniffle before getting my head up, revealing my glossy eyes and a few tears. My head feels like a boulder, trying to keep it lifted on top of my shoulders.
I shake my head with a smile. "It's stupid."
"There isn't a stupid reason to cry." Jenna says comfortingly, rubbing my shoulder with her thumb as she rests her hand there.
I look away again for a moment before meeting Jenna's gentle eyes. I open my mouth, no sound coming out as I try to decide my words before I speak. "It's just you're so nice. Most people either just let me speak, but are clearly disinterested or just flat out call me annoying."
Jenna's eyes are laced with empathy as she looks into my eyes like windows.
I sniffle before speaking again, fanning my face for moment. "And you just seem so interested and intrigued in what I'm talking about, and it just means so much and- I don't know."
She continues to rub my arm. There was a moment of silence, the only noise being my soft sobs until Jenna spoke. "I loved seeing the excitement and passion you have about y/f/m. You should talk to me more about it some time." She says with a smile.
I nod. "Yeah, I'd like that." A sniffle interrupts the middle of my sentence.
"I should probably try to calm down, I don't really want to go back outside looking like this." I motion my hands over my face, addressing my puffy eyes and tear streaked face.
Jenna breaks eye contact for a moment, finding the tv before meeting my gaze again. "How about we watch something?"
I nod, she stands and quickly finds the remote. "Before we start watching something, do you need a hug? You're allowed to say no."
I love how considerate she is.
I nod, standing up. She holds her arms out, inviting me into her arms. I put my arms around her lower back and she wraps hers around my upper back, one hand resting on the back of my head playing with my hair comfortingly. She holds me in her warm, gentle embrace for a moment before letting go.
She meets my face with a smile. "Feel better?"
I quickly nod with a smile on my face, happiness in my eyes.
"Do you have any comfort movies?" Jenna asks, finding her seat back on the couch.
I find my seat next to her. "I really like Studio Ghibli movies."
Jenna points the remote to the TV. "How about Spirited Away?"
"That sounds good to me." I say with a nod, looking at her one more time with a smile before we start the movie.
a/n: hii guys, hope you enjoyed my first Jenna fic. this was inspired by the tiktoks I've seen about the way Jenna looks at people. maybe if you guys behave you'll get a Jenna fic that has actual romance in it next.

You love bucky and you hate it, you hate how hot he sounds, you hate how fucking handsome he is, you even find yourself staring at him, while daydreaming about the most sinful things you wish bucky would do to you.
Bucky on the other hand is the same, he hates how much he loves you, how much he worships your body how angelic your voice is, it infuriates him, whenever both you guys are forced to train together he teases you, flirts with you, insults you, and in all honesty you would flirt back, except you would purr seductive words in his ear that would get him caught of guard and you would use this to kick the back of his leg and make him fall to his knees before you, worked every time.
Once again you’re paired with, your sworn enemy. standing in front of him arguing about god knows what. Sometimes you think he just argues with you to argue, I roll my eyes as the insults fall from his lips, “I didn’t do it on purpose…you’re infuriating sometimes, you know that?” I retort back, fed up with his stupidity, my voice dropping to a quieter tone, remembering what Steve told me about getting loud. His breath catches slightly at your quiet, sultry tone. The way you're purring those words has him feeling things he shouldn't, especially not while they're supposed to be training. His voice coming out rougher than intended "You think this is infuriating? you haven’t seen anything yet, doll"
There it is, that irritating nickname, the one that he only uses when referring to me. I hate how smooth it rolls off of his tongue, how it lingers in my mind for days, I hate how much I don’t hate it. I bite the inside of my lip, his voice making me almost…nervous? The roughness in it seeping through, making my cheeks flush. “that’s what I said, isn’t it?” my voice coming out softer than intended, great, that just really helps my case.
Bucky steps closer, his eyes narrowing as he notices the flush creeping up your cheeks. He leans in, voice dropping to a low whisper. “Infuriating enough to make you blush like that?” His lips quirk into a smirk, realizing he's gotten under your skin. He knows what he’s doing, and he knows exactly how to get through you. Every time he sees you, his stomach flutters with an unfamiliar feeling, a feeling so unknown to him that he doesn’t know how to handle it.
Eyes meeting his as he steps into my personal space. the thoughts racing in my mind about him are sinful, erotic, just simply gross, and I can’t seem to shake them. I snap out of my thoughts, shoving him back by his chest. “whatever, we have training to do.” The push only serves to make him smirk more, his body reacting to your touch despite the shove. You notice his pupils dilating slightly as he recovers his balance. "Then why are we spending so much time talking instead of hitting each other?" With that I send a punch, landing directly on his stomach. the impact only making him stumble back slightly. He looks at me, eyes darkening, “that’s all you got?” he mumbles, sending a punch towards my face, dodging it with ease I grab his arm twisting it behind his back. He’s so cocky it makes me sick, but I can’t deny it draws me in more than should. He grunts at the hold, unable to break free from your grip. His heart racing, not from the physical strain, but from your closeness. "Cheap shot," he mutters, though there's no genuine anger in his voice. Instead, it's laced with something else - desire.
my breathing matches his quickly, the proximity making my head spin. “Get it together Barnes, you’re fighting like your mind is elsewhere.” I know it’s elsewhere, the way he’s been looking at me, the way his pupils overtake the blueness in his eyes as they dilate, god I hate him…do I? before I know it, taking me from my thoughts immediately, Bucky wrenches his arm free with a sudden jerk, spinning around to face you. His chest heaves with panting breaths, eyes flashing with a mix of irritation and undeniable hunger, now face to face with Bucky, breath heavy, eyes locked onto his. “And where exactly would my mind be, huh?”
“Clearly not on the training.” I retort sarcastically. His jaw clenches, the tension between you almost palpable. Leaning in closer, he whispers roughly, "You want to know where my mind is? It's wondering what it'd be like to push you against this wall..." His voice drops lower, gaze on your lips, lingering there for a moment before snapping back up to your eyes. "Forget it," he mutters, turning away abruptly. I don’t know what came over me, the proximity between us building my confidence inch by inch. With a swift motion I catch his hand pulling him into a slow, passionate kiss. Stunned, Bucky freezes for a moment before his arms wrap around you, deepening the kiss. His hands tangle in your hair as he pulls you closer, the world around them fading away. "Fuck," he curses against your lips. "What are you doing?" Pulling away from the kiss, forehead resting against his, “what I should’ve done, so, so long ago.” I whisper against his lips. letting the words linger for a moment longer, before finding his in another kiss, this one needier than the last. His control snaps completely, one hand sliding up to cup your face again, while the other pulls you flush against him. The feeling of his lips against mine, make my mind fuzzy. His kisses become more urgent, teeth grazing your lower lip as he tries to get closer despite the impossible angle. "Been..." he pants between kisses "Been waiting..." I break the kiss before we both do something we’ll regret on this mat.
“I’ve waited longer.” I mumble, my tone teasing. A deep chuckle escapes his throat as he rests his forehead against yours again, his breathing still heavy. "Well then someone should've made a move sooner." His fingers trace gentle patterns on your back "You always were too stubborn..." He steals one last quick kiss. Letting out a soft chuckle, returning the kiss, “whatever…” I mumble although there’s no heat behind my words at all anymore, just pure affection. He smiles against your lips, the warmth spreading through him as he holds you close. After a moment, he pulls back, looking around at the training room with a newfound awareness. "We should probably get back to training, huh?" He asks, his voice tinged with amusement.
𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 : A few day later, Bucky and I walk into the living room, sitting with the rest of the avengers. Our thighs touching, not a single insult slipping from our lips, I glance over to Steve, his confusion is palpable as he watches Bucky and you sitting together, hands touching casually. “What?” He opens his mouth to ask a question, but Clint beats him to it. "Hey, what's going on with you two?" He asks, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. His eyes flick between you and bucky, eyebrows furrowing in further confusion. I shrug my shoulders, leaning further into buckys embrace, just enough to get the others ‘riled’ up, “what do you mean?”
Bucky chuckles softly, the sound vibrating through his chest as he feels you lean into him. He shoots a playful glance at Clint before focusing back on Steve, who looks utterly bewildered. "Nothing's going on," he states casually, shrugging one shoulder. I nod in agreement, struggling to hide my smirk. “well, I’m gonna go to my room.” I announce standing up quickly. Before disappearing into my room I leave a soft, gentle kiss on buckys cheek, leaving the others jaws on the floor. His eyes follow you, finally looking away as you disappear into your room, a smirk playing on his lips as he hears the collective gasps and murmurs from the rest of the Avengers. He leans back casually, draping an arm over the back of the couch. "What?"
Steve finally speaks after minutes of processing, “what the fuck.” Bucky chuckles softly, before disappearing to the room you retreated to moments ago, Tony opens his mouth to let out a sarcastic remark as he usually does, but nothing comes out. The shock still hitting him just as much as the others.

—summary: assistant professor in bioengineering, incredibly attractive, lonely and divorced; that’s how most people describe san. but despite the events that have happened in his life, san has a lot going for himself. he’s a successful, sought out professor due to his brilliant contributions to science at just an early age of 32. he worked hard to get where he was now; head deep into his research, his publications, building his lab and creating a name for himself. everything was good and smooth sailing— until it wasn’t. because when he meets you, a bioengineering grad student interested in rotating in his lab, he finds himself ready to risk all the blood, sweat and tears he put in throughout the years just to keep you close— his need for you spiraling out of control like a wildfire.

"So, how was it?" Jiung asks, walking alongside of you as the two of you slowly walk over to the Gates Biology Building, where Yunho's class was being held. You sip on your cup of coffee, dragging your feet while you look ahead to the building in view.
"What, the conference?" Jiung nods. "It was okay! Nothing too fancy."
"You didn't see any other people there?"
"Not really, no. I think this was a relatively smaller conference compared to the others."
"Did you get to talk to Professor Choi much?" He looks down at his feet, wondering if you'd open up about anything that could potentially give him clues. But, you resort to a simple—
"Nope." Jiung is looking at your necklace now. "Just said hi in passing." You avoid eye contact.
"I see." He tries to read your body language but it isn't giving him anything. He's just not sure why you're keeping it so vague and brief, though. That's unusual. Plus, the fact that you can barely maintain eye contact with him. "That's a nice necklace, by the way. Is it new?" He points at it.
"Mhm. I got it down there." You touch the necklace with a small smile.
"It's cute. It suits you."
"That's what the lady told us—" You catch yourself. "Me, too. I mean." Jiung furrows his brows.
"Us?"
"The other shoppers around." You quickly throw out just as you get to the front of the Gates Biology Building. "Thanks for walking me." You playfully ruffle his hair and he chuckles.
"Mmyeah. See you later for the happy hour event?" You nod.
"Have a good rest of your day." You wave him off as you walk backwards and head into the lobby. He stands there for a second, waiting until you fully disappear into the elevator and off to the classroom, turning on his heel while replaying the conversation in his head.
You don't feel the same to him, and he knows it's because you're hiding something. You weren't always great at lying or keeping up with a façade because that just wasn't you. For you to be doing it means there's something tied to it that means a lot to you, something you're trying to protect, and Jiung is now convinced that something is Professor Choi.
It's only a matter of time until he finds out one way or another, and he's not sure how to feel about it. It could either go badly or end up worse; he's afraid you'll end up hurt at the end of it, and he's afraid everything you've worked for will be taken away from you so, so quickly.
Meanwhile, when you drag yourself into the classroom, you're startled by the sight of Yunho on his laptop, sitting at the table in front of the classroom.
"Oh, hey!" He says, typing away. "Hope you don't mind me joining in for journal club today." You shrug with a small chuckle, setting your things off to the side while Yunho comfortably sits back in the chair. Your eyes quickly skim his get-up for today, which is pretty casual: dark jeans, a long sleeve top and chucks. He doesn't say much while you're getting things ready on the projector, typing away on his phone in between scanning your figure. He's trying to see if anything looks or feels off with you, and so far, it doesn't.
San is careful as can be, he supposes.
"It is your class, Professor Jeong." He smiles a bit and nods.
"So, how was your weekend?" You yawn into your arm and shrug.
"It was okay. I came back from a trip. Felt too short."
"Mm." Yunho hums. "Where'd you go, if you don't mind me asking?" He's eyeing your features as you sift through your notes.
"Just drove out a few hours with my mom." You avoid eye contact as you go through today's paper and prepare some discussion points for class.
"Oh." Yunho nods. "That sounds nice." His eyes land on your necklace and it looks too familiar— which is probably because he almost bought that same necklace for Iseul on Hiro this past weekend.
Maybe San isn't all that careful cause he swears he sees the faint hickey at the base of your neck from this angle. The longsleeve top you're wearing covers it for the most part, if you're paying attention.
"What about you?" You look at him and see that his eyes have landed on your necklace before they move up to meet your eyes.
"I was actually at Hiro for a couple of things, then went to the BAS conference for a bit." Your heart drops and suddenly, the room feels incredibly hot. You completely avoid eye contact with him now, sifting through your notes to finalize the discussion points for today. "I thought I saw you there with San."
"No?" Is all you manage to say, but it's enough for Yunho to catch onto everything.
"You weren't?" You look at him, and his expression is blank. All you can do is pretend to play it off and shake your head, hoping he'd let it go.
"Not me." Your response is barely above a whisper, and all Yunho can do is let out a breath. He knows.
"Y/N." His expression switches and you can see the concern on his face. "Can I ask—"
"Morning Professor Jeong and Y/N!" A student comes in and plops into his usual seat, followed by another student, and another.
Thank god.
"Sorry, you were saying?" You look at him cluelessly, making him shake his head in response.
"Nothing. I'll let you take it from here." He gives you a small smile, eyes now glued onto the students ahead. You give them a few minutes, waiting for the stragglers to trickle in and get settled before you call their attention to the front and begin today's journal club paper discussion.
Yunho, for the most part, keeps to himself during class, chiming in when he wants to clarify a point or to encourage the class to bring more discussion to the table. Yunho thinks you're a great TA, and he sees that the students are comfortable with you. He hates that he's so conflicted because of many things: one, he's not sure entirely about the situation. Two, his gut feeling makes him feel sure but he doesn't know how to approach it. Three, he knows you're an incredibly bright and smart person— you'd get along with anyone and truly, he hasn't had any issues with you despite his last minute requests for classes or assignments.
Four, maybe he just needs to let this go and stop meddling.
Five, you would've known what you were getting into right?
But, he's reminded otherwise when class wraps up an hour and 15 minutes later— a brutal reminder otherwise. He sees you packing up and getting your things together, clinging onto your phone just as you grab your bag and sling it over your shoulder. As you turn on your heel, you almost collide straight into Iseul.
You look at her, and she looks at you.
Her eyes glaze over your features, landing on your neck, that necklace.
"Excuse—" You try to brush past her, but she gives you a small smile and steps in your way.
"Hi Y/N, how's class with Yunho been?" You look at her because you have never spoken a word to her, nor did you have a reason to. But, out of respect [especially on campus], you give her a faint smile before responding.
"Good." You simply respond as she nods.
"And how's your rotation with San? Sure he's been treating you well?" She tilts her head to the side, almost like she's mocking you. Almost like the answer is written all over your face, your neck; her eyes are there again and you can't help but tug up and adjust your top more.
"Very."
"That's good to hear, I expected as much. He's pretty good about building relationships with his lab members." She gives you a small smirk before stepping aside, slowly making her way to Yunho behind you. He stands there, hand slipped into his pocket while he cocks his brow at her. You don't even take another moment to look at them, instead quickly walking out of the room to text San and make your way over to your next class of the day.
you: san.
san: uh oh. lol what did i do? 😅
you: no it's not that. ☹️
san: what is it, baby? do you wanna come into my office in a bit? i'm wrapping up at the faculty meeting.
you: no, it's okay. i just finished class with yunho and i think he knows. well, him and iseul.
san: what, why do you say that?
san: not like i care about what they have to say or whatever.
you: san, you should. 🫤
san: alright, i'm sorry. you're right. but what did they say, baby? do you wanna wait until i see you later?
you: yunho just said he thought he saw us at the BAS conference, but i know he did. his tone and look said so. he was just trying to get it out of me. and iseul.. i don't know. it was just weird.
san: we'll talk about this later tonight then, okay? it'll be okay. don't worry about them.
you: okay. 🥺 are you going to the happy hour thing?
san: wasn't planning on it but i know namjoon's text is gonna come sooner or later. going with your friends?
you: mhm. i'll see you later tonight if you don't go?
san: soooo long. wanna pop into my office in a bit?
you: sannie. lol i'm headed to my next class then i'm going to meet up with jiung and them afterwards.
san: for 2 seconds. 😭
You playfully roll your eyes and smile as you text back, already walking over to class.
you: you're still wrapping up at the faculty meeting and i'm headed to class. i don't think we'll have 2 seconds, professor choi.
san: booooooo.
you: see you later. 😙
san: ☹️ mean.
You giggle to yourself, tucking your phone into your pocket as you head to class; forgetting the tense, awkward moments that just occurred between Yunho and Iseul.
"Why'd you have to do that, hm?" Yunho asks her, grabbing his bag from the floor before walking alongside of her.
"Was just trying to see how she'd react. I'm sure she didn't tell you anything about her trip?"
"No. Said she went away with her mom for the weekend, so." Iseul chuckles.
"Of course. Someone I know said they definitely saw San leaving with her at the conference. Kinda makes sense now, doesn't it?" She looks up at him. "Y/N folded when I mentioned him, her body language completely changed."
"Iseul." Yunho looks at her. "What are you trying to do here? All I was gonna do was ask her, not interrogate or attack her."
"I'm trying to get you to do the right thing. They're dating, Yunho. It's obvious. I saw the way she tugged on her top, too. I'm sorry but she's not slick." He sighs.
"I don't know, I don't wanna start this whole thing. What if it isn't even that serious, or what if we're completely wrong—"
"Everything about this is serious regardless of what angle you look at it. It's wrong." She says. "You don't have to talk to San, but I will. They need to know." He sighs heavily, no longer knowing how to respond to her about the whole issue.
Tumblr media
You meet up with your friends outside in the middle of the Harvey Center courtyard, where all the activities are set up appropriately for the happy hour event taking place. They've got cornhole competitions set up on the lawn nearby, another station to decorate university tumblers, and another for quick but fun board games. They've got a bunch of pizza boxes sitting out on tables, beer and canned wine next to it. You and your friends help yourself to a few slices before grabbing your drinks of choice for the night. They've got string lights to add to the atmosphere, the evening being clear but chilly.
"Finally! We relax all together again!" Felix says, tapping his can against yours before you all drink and start to indulge in tonight's happy hour festivities.
"Our baby's finally here, too!" Eunchae squeezes you, hugging you tightly and making you laugh as she clings onto your arm.
"I know, Y/N. You've been so MIA." Felix looks at you with his usual puppy eyes, bottom lip slightly poking out. "What's been going on?"
"I've been busy with the lab, honestly. Trying to put in as much work as I can before the rotation ends."
"It's like you're practically living there." Felix jokes.
"How come you haven't been working with Sunwoo, though? He said you've been on your own schedule and stuff." Jiung asks.
"We're just focusing on different aspects right now. Plus, I've been trying to help Belle out as much as I can, too."
"Okay but, make time for us, too. Live your life!" Eunchae preaches. "You're here with us now, so let's enjoy it." So, you do. You do exactly that with your friends and a bunch of other people who swung by from different departments. Today's happy hour event is the liveliest you've ever seen it— tons of friends and people swarming from different departments and areas just to take a break from everything and mingle.
You and your friends hang out with familiar and new faces, all of you sitting around and drinking while one half played games and the others talked about school, work. Life. San and his friends join eventually, talking to a few students as they hang around amongst themselves. You giggle to yourself seeing San put on a face cause it's obvious he's not entirely in the mood. But, he's here. So, are his friends; Professor Kim being the social butterfly out of them all, per usual.
"So, Y/N. Tell me about the stuff you've been doing in Professor Choi's lab. I heard you've been up to some crazy stuff from Sunwoo and Belle." Hae-jin, a postdoc in another lab, pulls his chair closer to yours and looks you in the eye. At first, the conversation is fun, it's lively. You're in good spirits conversing with the guy, laughing and poking fun at campus life and being a grad student vs. postdoc.
But, Hae-jin keeps drinking.
And he keeps drinking.
Then his true intentions start coming out and you're no longer having a good time talking to the guy.
A few people are drunk enough to start a fun little dance floor in the middle of the courtyard while the speakers blast music, Eunchae, Felix and Jiung also grabbing you to join them as you sing along to the song. You facetime call Jurin while she's away, letting her know much you miss her. The call ends after 5 minutes, Jurin sadly waving while she heads off to dinner with her parents for their anniversary celebration.
"I'm gonna grab some water." You tuck your phone in your pocket, heading straight to the water table nearby.
"I was looking for you, cute stuff!" Hae-jin throws his arm around you and you can smell the alcohol lingering on his breath. "Wanna dance?"
"No, I'm good, Hae-jin." You shrug him off and take another sip of water before tossing your cup. San is already on high alert from where he's standing— his attention nowhere on Namjoon, Jongho or Zara right now even though he's trying his hardest to keep it together.
The fuck was this guy doing?
"What, why? It's just for fun? Let's just go and hang out." He throws his arm around you again, this time bringing you flush to his body. You try to press off his chest, but he's strong and it isn't an easy fight.
"Hae-jin, stop—"
"What's wrong?" Luckily, Eunchae is already on her way over to save you, sensing your distress signal from afar.
"Hey, stop." Eunchae senses the way you stiffen and quickly become uncomfortable. "Leave her alone." Eunchae pushes Hae-jin back roughly. "You're drunk, dude. She said no."
"Aw come on, bestie trying to get in the way? I just thought we could have a dance. We were connecting, Y/N. Were we not?"
"Hae-jin, stop—No." His hand comes to your waist again. But, before Eunchae can even jump in, another familiar voice does:
"She said no." San steps in the middle, hand lightly pressed against his chest to create some distance. "Sure you understand what that means, right?" San's tone is laced with anger, but he's wearing a cocky smirk to cover it up. He's fuming and you know it.
"Professor Choi." You quietly say behind him with Eunchae still next to you, but he doesn't respond to it.
"San." Christopher is trying to hold him back by the shoulder, doing his best to reel him back in. "What's going on?"
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you. You do understand what no means, right?" San asks again, his voice louder as he shrugs off Chris.
"Wow, relax. I didn't think I was coming off that disrespectful. She seemed interested so I was only playing her game—" San steps forward and your heart drops to your ass because what the fuck does he think he's doing right now?
"Kinda looked like you were forcing yourself on her, though." San cocks his head to the side. "Dunno if that really counts as her being interested."
"San. Bring it back." Chris repeats. "The hell do you think you're doing right now?" He mutters lowly.
"San." You help by calling for him again, causing Hae-jin to knit his brows in confusion [along with Eunchae and Chris]. His eyes dart from you, to San, back to you, before responding.
"And how does it make any better that you're getting all worked up over her, Professor? Care to fill us in—"Hae-jin smirks a bit, causing San to push him back by the chest aggressively. But, before Hae-jin can even react properly, he's interrupted.
"San!" It's not just your voice calling out for him; it's Jongho's, it's Namjoon's, it's Christopher's. Namjoon is quick to step in between, creating distance between Hae-jin and San, giving San a very, very stern look once he dismisses Hae-jin to the side. You faintly hear Namjoon tell him to leave if he still plans to stir trouble, in which his friend tugs him to the side and apologizes on his behalf before they leave the event all together. You watch as Namjoon, Chris and Jongho move San to the opposite end, San's eyes wandering to you as if Namjoon isn't in front of him trying to get to the bottom of things.
"The hell just happened? Are you guys okay?" Felix asks as him and Jiung come over after playing a competitive game of cornhole with another duo of grad students.
"Bro, Hae-jin was getting all handsy and wouldn't take no for answer." Eunchae rolls her eyes, keeping you by her side and brushing your hair back. "Fucking creep. I wish Professor Choi actually decked his ass."
"I saw him getting in the middle." Felix adds.
"What's that about?" Jiung looks at you, but you don't really respond. You know he's not asking about Hae-jin. You know he's asking about San in particular.
"He deserved it, that's what. Being a whole dumbass with no boundaries. Learn how to control yourself, asshole!" She yells, hoping Hae-jin hears it even though him and his friends are all further away.
"I'm gonna head to the bathroom."
"Want me to come?" Eunchae asks and you shake your head.
"I'm good. Promise. Just needa break the seal again and take a little breather." Eunchae smiles a bit before squeezing and letting go of your hand.
On the other hand, Namjoon and Jongho finally find a better spot to speak with San at. Chris is honestly confused about the whole situation, being that he's never seen San outwardly act out that way even throughout his bad days. Jongho, on the other hand, knows exactly why and he knew it from the moment Hae-jin started drinking more and getting close to you.
Maybe he should've helped calm him down. He knew San's attention was on you and no one else.
"San." Namjoon calls him again to bring his attention back to him. "I know damn well— what the hell are you doing putting your hands on a postdoc like that at a campus event?"
"He was getting disrespectful, I know you saw that."
"I did, but you could've handled it with a lot more grace, San. This isn't the time nor place to get worked up like that. You don't get into fights on campus as a professor."
"I'm sorry."
"Was that really all that triggered it? Is there something else going on?" San looks at the floor and shakes his head, jaw ticking as he tries to calm himself down.
"No sir. I shouldn't have reacted that way." Namjoon doesn't believe it one bit, but he won't add more fuel to the fire right now.
"I don't think he'll go crying to the dean so consider yourself lucky. Please don't pull that shit again around these students. Promise me. You've got enough to deal with as is." San sighs heavily and nods.
"You're right, I'm sorry, Joon." Namjoon just gives him a small nod before letting out a breath and walking off to the side.
"Are you okay? I've never seen you that angry." Chris asks, confused about why San reacted the way he did.
"Yeah."
"Excuse us." Jongho says as he lightly pushes him by the shoulder, a little irritated at how incredibly stupid he's being. "Bro." He adds when he gets him alone. "What did I tell you?"
"He was putting his hands on her! I wasn't gonna let him disrespect her."
"Because she's your girlfriend?" Pause.
"That's besides the point, Jongho. He wasn't taking no for an answer and was forcing himself onto her."
"You could've just asked him to leave. He would have listened if you had just approached it properly." San doesn't listen, though. Instead, he clicks his teeth and whips out his phone to text you because he doesn't see you anywhere. "San. Don't." Jongho warns him, trying to keep the peace and the suspicion down. "Can't you just talk to her later? Shit will not help your case if someone sees you two. Think about this."
san: baby, where are you?
you: i'm going to the bathroom.
san: can you meet me behind the building, near the first, back west wing door?
you: is that a good idea?
san: really quickly. please.
you: i'll be there in a sec.
"Be right back." He looks at Jongho before walking into the building and out to the back door near the bathrooms.
"San." Jongho calls for him again before clicking his teeth. This dude was gonna stress him the fuck out, no doubt.
"Jongho?" Namjoon looks at him and all he can do is shrug.
"I really don't know what to tell you." Jongho and Namjoon's eyes travel around to see if everyone is still looking at the scene. "Whatever it is, it isn't my story to tell, Joon."
"Is everything okay?" Zara cuts in, concerned about San. She also witnessed the entire thing go down and unfortunately, it's just another reminder, another confirmation, of your relationship with him. It still aches her heart, even though a tiny part of her is selfishly holding onto hope that they'd work out in the end.
Not you two.
"Yeah, should be." Namjoon gives her a small smile. "Don't worry about it. He's just having an off night." Iseul and Yunho are quietly observing from the opposite end of the courtyard, still mid-discussion with other colleagues. They do try to bring their attention back to the discussion and away from San thankfully; however, Yunho knows Iseul definitely won't let it go at this point.
After you head to the bathroom, you wash your hands and fix your hair a bit, hands slightly shaking from the entire encounter. You take a few deep breaths before heading out towards the back door of the west wing, which is only a few steps away from the bathroom area on the first floor. As soon as you step outside, San is there with his hands in his pockets. He immediately pulls you in for a hug, one that you don't reciprocate, especially because you're on campus. You gently push him back and shake your head, bottom lip slightly poking out in a pout.
"Baby—"
"Not here." You softly say. There's a small pause before you let out a sigh and address the elephant in the room. "San, you didn't have to do that."
"Well, the hell was I supposed to do? Let him touch you without your consent? He was making you uncomfortable, Y/N. Over my dead fuckin' body—"
"Can't you think for a second? You're on campus!"
"I don't get why you're upset with me for just trying to protect you."
"There were better ways to do it."
"Angel." He says in defeat. "I'm sorry. I'm not gonna sit back and let someone disrespect you like that. Namjoon will be fine—"
"It's not even that, it's everyone else—"
"So be it! For all I fucking care."
"San, stop saying that."
"No, why? Are you really upset with me?" He cuts in and asks, almost caging you in while he looks at you softly. It's taking everything in you to not just kiss him right here, right now. Wrap your arms around him, tell him to forget every little fucking thing because all that matters is you and him; on that us against the world type shit—
"Y/N?" You turn when you hear the door pop open and another figure is in your peripherals. Jiung is there, confused about the two of you being together.
In the back.
San's face, body, in close proximity to yours.
Both of your expressions are telling.
"What're you doing? I thought you were going to the bathroom?" San steps back, attention shifting towards his feet.
"I'll talk to you later." Is all he says before brushing past you and Jiung, back to Jongho in the main courtyard.
"Jiung." You come towards him. "You didn't have to come looking for me." You brush past him to head back to the courtyard, and Jiung can't help but keep his eyes on San for a second longer before he's coming after you and grabbing your wrist.
Fuck, San thinks. This whole night is so fucked up. He doesn't even know if you're mad at him or not.
He doesn't know what this means.
"Y/N, don't you think we should talk?"
"About what?"
"Stop." He swings you around to face him. "That's enough. What the hell is going on with you and Professor Choi?"
"Jiung—"
"I know you haven't been telling the truth, so please stop. Be honest with me, that's all I ask." You sigh shakily, bottom lip trembling as you fiddle with your fingers. Jiung knew, and tonight probably solidified everything he had questioned, felt, assumed. There was no getting away from it, not from Jiung.
"We've been seeing each other." His eyes widen in surprise.
"So, Sunwoo wasn't lying when he said he didn't see you during the NAS conference." You feel the tears pricking at your lids as you shake your head. "You were with him." He lets out a breath. "Who else knows?"
"No one else. Please don't mention it to them cause I'm not ready to do that talk with them yet." He doesn't even answer, but the next question throws you so off-guard you don't even know how to properly react.
"D-did Professor Choi force you into this? Is he making you do stuff in order to secure your spot in his lab? Y/N, if he's—" You step back and look at him disbelief.
"W-what? That's the first thing you thought of?" Now, it's his turn to look at you in disbelief because how is he supposed to know? He sees the surface level of it and obviously, everything about it is wrong.
"He's a professor, Y/N. Not just any, but yours. Your rotation PI."
"I know it seems wrong, but that's not what it is at all."
"Seems wrong? It is." He flatly says. "This could literally fuck up everything for the both of you. Did you not think about that?"
"I'm not stupid, Jiung. I knew what I was getting into." You back up. "And why would you think of him that way? He'd never do that."
"How am I supposed to know? I know him as a professor—"
"Well, he would never do that."
"I'm sorry? I'm just worried and am making sure you're okay as your friend."
"I told you it was fine. It's not like that and we both agreed on this."
"Okay?" Jiung retorts, hurt by the defensive tone you have.
"I'm just gonna say bye to everyone and head back."
"I can walk—"
"It's fine."
"Why are you hella angry with me?" Jiung stops you again. "You can't actually be angry at me for caring about you."
"I don't need you to do that, Jiung. And I don't need you to start assuming all this shit about me and Professor Choi. You don't know him, and you obviously don't know me if you think I'm someone who could be forced around like that."
"That was not even my point, I was just—"
"Whatever." You say, brushing him off as you walk towards your friends and start gathering your things.
"You're leaving!?" Eunchae pouts. "Fucking Hae-jin and his kill-joy ass!"
"I'm just tired, is all. You stay and have fun, okay?"
"You sure? I can walk you—"
"Please. I promise. Have fun." You reassure her before saying your goodbyes to the rest of the group and walking off.
"Is she okay? Did something happen between her and Professor Choi?" Felix cocks up a brow. "Is there something going on?"
"Nah." Jiung says, plopping down onto a chair. It's easy to see he's defeated, and it's easy to pick up on the mood change. Eunchae and Felix quietly sit around, sipping on the last bits of their drinks before setting the cans aside and scrolling through social media to talk about random things—
Just to let the weirdness pass.
On the other hand, San can see you from where he's standing and he feels his stomach drop. He doesn't wanna see you walk alone, he doesn't wanna be this way with you, he doesn't want Jiung to get upset or make things worse for you.
He doesn't know what to do.
"Maybe we should head out." Jongho chimes in, watching San text away.
"In a sec."
san: y/n, don't walk alone. where are your friends?
you: staying behind.
san: you want me to pick you up?
you: no. i think i should stay home.
san: baby, we need to talk about this.
you: and it won't be tonight. i think we both just need to step back and take a breather, okay? too many things happened and i just need to be in my own space.
san: did you and jiung fight?
you: i'll talk to you later.
san: baby, come on.
Because it's true— this was getting sloppier and even though you could care less, you needed to think. Do better. Be better about this with San.
Though, you're scared and you know it's about to unravel quick. Tonight definitely didn't help that case whatsoever.
You just needed a moment away from everyone.

exhibit a : you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
୨୧ ; you and riki, on a date solving murder cases gone cold? that’s going to end in another murder!
pairing! criminaljusticemajor!riki x criminologymajor!reader | wc. 0.9k | warnings: atempted humour, incorrect law and forensic terms, homicide mentions EN-
🖇️ : riki version finally!! sorry it took so long ㅜㅜ
riki has been majoring in criminal justice for some time now
you two never really talked properly, most of your conversations were trivial things like “can i borrow your pencil” or “when does this lecture end”
you never expected your first proper conversation with him to be an argument about who can solve a cold case faster
"of course i can solve it the fastest, what are you talking about, y/n?"
that just pisses you off bc who does he think he is
let's be so fr why is he so full of himself?
you had just been listening in on his conversation about a case study and you couldn't help but jump in
and riki had the audacity to mock you
"you're really going to stick with that theory? it's clearly wrong- come on, even i know that."
you were ready to bash his pretty little face in
bc your theory about the jane doe case is definitely right dafuq.
the time window, the evidence, the interview transcripts... it all fits your narrative
and the more you and riki discuss the case, the more convinced riki is that your theory MIGHT be right
of course he won't admit that though
but when you start talking about livor mortis he can't help but stare at you with hearts in his eyes
like DAMN he loves girls who recite shit like that as if it's the alphabet
one day you're just packing up your bag to leave after a lecture when riki comes over
"hey, you wanna study with me this evening? get some work done on the cold case project?"
riki's tryna be all nonchalant but he's screaming inside PLEASE SAY YES PLEASE SAY YES
you say yes.
you two meet at riki’s dorm room and tbh it’s kinda messy in there
i imagine criminology major riki to have lots of books regarding criminal law and stuff lying about everywhere and js have a lot of stuff in general
like the only place that’s not covered by some book or paper of some sort is the bed because he needs sleep (but he stays up till 5am anyways)
he probably listens to true crime podcasts all night
riki and you start get into your work right away but both of you keep getting carried away bickering
don’t worry it’s just playful banter ☺️
“i said stfu his rigor mortis had only started on the head and neck of the body but livor mortis had fully set- that's just says that someone manipulated the factors”
you’re just sitting on his bed pointing at the case file and trying to prove your point
riki’s smart but dense at the same time
you both have some genuinely concerning conversation starters
“oh yeah so this girl apparently got burned alive on a wooden pole outside a school campus!”
"do you think the car air conditioner will be cold enough to use during the winter when trying to onset rigor mortis of the body?"
"if someone dug up a already dead body murdered by someone else and re-buried it to hide it from the officials, what charges would they get?"
you guys say it so casually too like you're discussing what to have for dinner
you always thought riki was cool and had a little liking for him but working on a project together and really made the feelings more intense
sure he’s an annoying little menace who’s way too stubborn
but he’s smart. and he’s pretty.
you really are going to bash his pretty face in one day.
even when you two are not working on the project you two meet up in each other’s dorm rooms to play games, talk, etc
like you two make plans to meet up at your room to play fortnite (you carry his ass through the game)
oh but he won't admit that
i feel like riki would prefer staying in for these types of activities
you know those little packages of fake crime cases you can buy to investigate and stuff?
that's what you and riki do on friday nights except it's not a fake crime
it's all real
you guys research serial murder cases, disappearances that went cold YEARS ago, heists... the list just goes on and on
yeah but these little dates are probably going to become a homicide case itself
no bc why is riki not shutting up his narrative is so wrong
he ends up confessing to you at the end of the month after both of you submitted the most beautiful thesis on a double homicide case
you got lots of help from riki on the criminal law aspects of it and you helped him with the profiling and forensics part
"no y/n, he would be charged for perverting the course of justice, what are you on?"
“riki, stop being such a dumbass. the offender and the victim had no connection whatsoever.”
riki was so scared to confess to you, he was overthinking for days straight instead of sleeping at night
so for your first date you just have him come over to your dorm and make a murder board with you
not exactly a common first date activity but both of you have fun with red string and evidence so it’s fine
you and riki later on create your own true crime podcast except you're not just talking about the crime
you're both solving them (agggtm anyone?)
i'd like to think that you and riki's podcasts went viral and everyone gushing over you two
you and riki just make a really cute couple

Season 6 Tournament(s) arc [aka if the writers knew how to have fun]
The team makes it into the Sekai Taikai same as before and is told they have 3 month to prepare
They are told 1 week after getting in that the tournament will be held in Barcelona, but are also told that the events will only be unveiled 2 weeks before the start
Daniel and Johnny meet up to talk schedules and training regimens and Johnny suggests something
-
Johnny : You know how you’re a 2 time all valley champ
Daniel : yes? As are you?
Johnny : well I’m also a 1 time San Francisco Champion, a 1 time Sacramento champ, a 1 time (so on and so forth)
Daniel : !??!
Johnny : you really think Kreese didn’t have us decimating every tournament in the state (and a few in neighboring states)???
Daniel : I wasn’t aware there were other tournaments??
Johnny : well that’s stupid of you ANYWAYS what if instead of just regular training we put them through every tournament happening in the next 2.5 months (on top of regular training of course)
Daniel : that might just be the least crazy idea you’ve ever had
-
Que montage of the kids sleeping on busses as they travel to tournaments across the state, at rest stops buying snack, standing in the cold with duffel bags half asleep at like 2 am, someone screaming to pull over because they have to go to the bathroom, road trip stuff
And each tournament has different rules
One has no gender division, but does have a separation by weight (Bert featherweight champion lmfao)
One only does duo events
One only does skills and weapons
Just a bunch of different tournaments
We get a montage of every tournament happening and different people winning different fights
A little time lapse of the Miyagi-do trophy wall going from like 3 trophies (2 Daniel 1 Eli) to like 35 as they bring home more and more wins from more and more different events
We get to the point when it’s announced that only 6 can go and 2 ppl need to be selected as captains and everyone is 1,000% more chill about it because they all have a trophy by now
Miguel especially is way less snippy because he can wow Stanford with like 7 trophies instead of just 1 (he’s obviously still a little disappointed but that just how being a competitive athlete is)
They all go into the tournament way more confident
(Maybe Tory doesn’t switch sides because she also won quite a few fair and square and since her mom was feeling better she got to see her win. Still dies, but it’s less,,,,, sucky)
