a revelation between songs.
pairing: tom blyth x actress!reader.
summary: you, Tom and Rachel had an idea to create playlists for your characters.
word count: 593!
notes: inspired by an interview where Rachel says that she and Tom created playlists for their characters, and i recommend the song i mentioned because i was listening to it while writing!
"Well, i heard that you created playlists for your respective characters…" — The interviewer, who was incredibly dynamic, commented. — "… and it's true?"
"Oh yeah!" — Rachel responded with an enthusiastic smile and nodding her head, wanting to complement and talk about the topic presented. — "We created our playlist during the first few days of recording, right?" — She asked, resting one of her hands on her chin.
"Right!" — You replied with a complicity smile. — "We were so excited about the idea, that we didn't even wait for the opening day." — And it was a suggestion that brought you all closer together and created in your minds what the characters' musical tastes would be.
And to this day none of you have finished them because every day you add a new song.
"Exactly!" — Rachel concluded. — "I think it's technically impossible to choose one but "Hunter" by Florence + The machine is addictive and very good." — The interviewer nodded in agreement and paid attention to every word.
"One of the first songs i added to my playlist was "Do you love" by machineheart." — You tilted your head to wonder if it was correct. — "Yeah, she was one of the first and she became my favorite." — The interviewer agrees, crossing her legs and eager for an explanation. — "I feel like the lyrics clarify my character's emotions."
"I'm pretty sure i have it on my playlist too." — Tom stuttered thoughtfully and resting his arm on the back of the chair accompanied by a complicity look in his direction. — "Like, seriously." — He laughed.
"Do not tell me!" — You pretended to be surprised and finding the coincidence incredible, and trying, as much as possible and with all your strength, not to laugh at the situation.
Meanwhile, the interviewer found it funny, even without understanding and believing in the possible and concrete coincidence, and Rachel looked at the two of you with her mouth open. — Knowing, deep down, that it was a joke.
"They spent the entire recording session listening to each other's playlists." — She revealed, laughing, putting her hand over her mouth. — "Every time i went to Spotify, with that function to see the songs your friends were listening to, i saw Tom listening to Y/n's playlist and she listening to his playlist."
"No way!" — The interviewer joined.
"I swear!" — Rachel exclaimed; the only thing you did, seeing that you had no way to justify or defend yourself, was to put your hand over your mouth and Tom placed one of his hands on your thigh.
Rachel wasn't lying or exaggerating; since the beginning of the recordings along with the idea of playlists, there was no other playlist, not even the ones you created, that you listened to the most besides Tom's. — There were so many songs with the presence of the small and typical green heart. — At any time, anywhere, you listened to that playlist; like Tom did with you.
Tom would share photos, screenshots with your playlist or any of the songs included in it in the background for you. — Tom even listened to them while driving his motorcycle.
"I strongly consider it a love language." — The British accent echoed confidently throughout the decorated room, his hand was still on your thigh and now making a pleasant caress. — His eyes admired your radiant smile.
You hugged his clothed arm and rested his head, gently and gently, on his shoulder; a wave of comfort and protection entered your belly. — Quickly, Tom rested his head on your.
"Very romantic, very romantic." — You said, laughing softly and with red cheeks, a little embarrassed.

Marauders and the modern music artists they would love/be fans of:
James Potter: Bruno Mars / Ed Sheeran (He is not really fan of a certain artist or band. He likes everything, lots of songs and genres. But these two just gave me his vibes. I can see him vibing to Mars's music and feeling romantic with Sheeran's)
Sirius Black: Artic Monkeys (He likes lots of cheesy pop songs but he wouldn't admit it. He is proud to be an Artic Monkeys fan though. The music fits his bad boy vibe and he thinks Alex Turner's voice is very sexy)
Remus Lupin: Eminem?? (He is not really into modern music. He is an old soul, and thinks music from other times was better. He likes a few modern songs now and then, better if they have meaningful lyrics. But I think if he had to choose someone modern, it would be Eminem. He likes classical rock but also rap. He knows all the lyrics to most of his songs)
Peter Pettigrew: Gorillaz (The only band he knows all the songs to. He likes the artistic concept behind the animation)
Lily Evans: Taylor Swift (Swiftie through and through. I can also see her liking some of Katy Perry's songs)
Marlene McKinnon: Avril Lavigne / Paramore (Avril Lavigne is definitely her style and Hayley Williams is her first love and intense crush)
Mary Macdonald: Ariana Grande / The Weekend (She is the one who is not embarrassed about liking cheesy pop music. But she's into naughty lyrics and she likes to sing along. She also loves Ariana's voice and wants to sing like her. She doesn't know she has a very similar voice. She lets herself go when she is singing Ariana)
Regulus Black: Radiohead / Billie Eillish (He likes classical instrumental music in general. He listens to piano sets for hours. But he likes these artists because of the angsty content of their songs which he feels identified with)
Barty Crouch Jr: YUNGBLUD / Lil Peep (No explanation needed)
Pandora Lovegood: Florence and the Machine (I think this band is totally her vibe)
Dorcas Meadowes: Girl in Red / Lana del Rey (Lana del Rey has all of Dorcas's vibes. I am pretty sure she had a crush on her at some point)

I'm hunting for songs to hand in, but since our music tastes are pretty different, I think they might sound good to you, but we shall see!
Since You Stole My Heart by Saturday Looks Good to Me Marceline and Alice are both by Vista Kicks Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners All I Want Is to Be Your Girl by Holly Miranda Aengus' Fool by Sleep Walking Animals!
And I'm not sure how you feel about Kate Bush but Suspended and Gaffa and The Wedding List are some my favorites!
Some of Alec Benjamains songs? My favorite one is Sacrafice Tomorrow and it reminds me of Shakespeare's tragedies for some reason lol
And You've got the Love by Florence and the Machine, don't know how you would feel about her music but I'm choosing a bunch of songs that I think are light-hearted and happy
There is an artist that makes, I think, folk-esque songs (not sure how to describe it) their name is Rabbitology and I love a lot of their songs (most of which are about women's struggles) I just think you might find them neat maybe? Especially the song The Bog Bodies which also delves into religious aspects and their song Millie, Warm the Kettle is about their struggles with a panic disorder I believe.
(we should totally make a playlist together...maybe...idk...up to you though ofc <333)
ofc these are just little recs im slipping in so if they don't seem interesting and far from what you listen to I totally get that lol
have i ever told you how much i love you😭😭
We should totally make a playlist together!!! Mostly cuz you have absolutely fantastic taste :))
Its kinda embarrassing, but ive only heard of one of the artists that you mentioned (alec benjamain) and i do like him!! Im gonna check out the other ones tho!! honestly rabbitology sounds like the type id love😌
Really you can get as out there as u want with music recs, cuz im pretty desperate and open to listening to anything once lol

this might be overloading you so feel free to just pick one!! Persephone, livia, clemensia, vipsania
Hiiii ok so this is take two bc my internet crashed waaaah. I’ve done pippa so this is now abt livia. Empress of panem. To me
First impression: resident mean girl. bullies coriolanus for perhaps the only thing he does not deserve to be bullied for: his dead parents? lmao? girl what
What I think now: my empress. my clytemnestra. her level of insane in the brain varies from day to day. sometimes I think she's mostly misunderstood. sometimes I think she's evil. most times I think it's kind of both. in all cases she's the only person who can stand up to coriolanus and tell him to shut the fuck up. I hope she ruins his life <3
favourite scene: when she publicly humiliates coriolanus for not understanding a poem...slay
least favourite scene: when she threw a temper tantrum when facet died. not her finest moment I fear. but I accept that it's relevant bc it paints a specific picture of her character
a song I associate with them: Dream Girl Evil by Florence and the Machine ("Do I remind you of every girl that made you mad?") and Rome by Solann ("Rome was raised by a bitch", "I walk amongst kings that kill their queens")
A hc: Law nepo baby. Late father was a legal scholar at the university and was responsible for the architecture of the legal apparatus of panem. used to quiz livia on citizenship laws when she was a child. livia has inherited his books, and goes on to become a lawyer. and a really fucking good one at that.
shares a bedroom with coriolanus but sleeps in a different bed like its the 1940s. they will insult each other from across the room. everybody is really shocked when they have a child? eventually pulls a rebecca (taunts coriolanus into killing her badly so everyone knows he did it and botched it. extremely embarrassing for coriolanus. slay)
sorry for taking so long to answer and like. only answering the questions that inspired me? hope thats alright <3

Listening to The Who a bunch for the first time since I was a young teen has been an Experience.
I spent my college years feeling kinda embarrassed over the obsession I'd had with them when I was like 13. I felt like it was so cringe because other 13 year olds had made me feel like my love of classic rock was cringe, and I had also since fully moved on and started exploring music that wasn't just the music my parents had raised me on or my favourite film soundtracks. I wanted to distance myself from my parents and the person I was as a teen and bury myself in alt rock, metal, and post-punk.
Now here I am in my late-20's, going back and listening to that old music for various reasons, and I'm like oh no 13 year old me was right. The Who fuck severely. And I can also see now how formative listening to them was for me. I recently read that they're considered proto-punk by music historians and I started connecting dots in my head like holy shit that explains so much of why my musical taste evolved the way it did. The edgy subject matter. The intense sound. The dramatic vocals. Of course I went on to be very into bands like Evanescence, Halestorm, Green Day, The Offspring, My Chemical Romance, In This Moment, and even Florence + The Machine.
And I think that shit influenced me beyond just music taste. I think it made me way more comfortable talking about difficult social topics than my peers in some ways, which in turn made me an even more pretentious teen than I otherwise would have been lol. I also only just recently realized that one of the many reasons why The Who, out of all the classic rock bands in my dad's LP collection, probably appealed to me the greatest was because their music isn't mostly about sex or attraction, and my tiny unaware ace ass was naturally drawn to that.
Additionally, shoutout to Pete Townshend for inspiring me so much as a musician and songwriter at that age, but also a big thanks to his slightly pitchy ass for giving me the completely unearned confidence to be the lead singer in a band as a teen. My tiny self heard Pete Townshend sing in some of The Who's songs and was subconsciously like "if this is the bar for professionals, I'm fine". I mean that with complete sincerity and love. Being able to get myself to sing in front of other people did a lot for me psychologically at 13, I think. Sure, I later I came to look back and cringe at how bad I was, but being oblivious to myself was very important in making sure I got to do some of the things I wanted to do at the time.
Perhaps most importantly after all this introspection and trips down memory lane, I find myself wanting to pick up my guitar and write music again for the first time in more than 10 years. I still have the custom black and tortoiseshell Gibson SG I got specifically because Pete Townshend used to play SGs (in hindsight, I should have stuffed my idolatry, made the smart choice, and gotten a Stratocaster- SGs are stupidly neck-heavy- but teen me was like I Need Townshend's Guitar, Dad). The truss rod probably needs some serious adjustment by now, but that's probably doable. I just need to set aside the time and get myself to overcome the hurdle of opening that dusty ass gig bag (ADHD Task Difficulty: Moderate-Severe).
#personal#The Who#I think this would be made easier if I had friends who played instruments#part of why it was so easy for me to fall off the horse was not having people to play with anymore#also slightly different train of thought but there's very little I wouldn't give to hear Halestorm cover See Me Feel Me/Listening to You

Final thoughts on 911 season 1 now that I’ve actually watched it all:
- Abby was my favourite character of this season! Which really surprised me because Buck is like the exact type of character who’s usually my favourite (goofy with a lot of dark trauma and insecurities that they hide with jokes, himbo, bisexual coded), but the episode where Abby’s talking to her brother and she said that being a daughter and being a saint were the same thing really endeared me to her (eldest immigrant daughter core). I liked her relationship with her mom a lot too, I love how much they loved each other but how the show wasn’t afraid to show how putting all the care of someone struggling with an illness like that onto one person, can be so difficult and isolating for both people in that kind of relationship. I also really loved how dedicated she was to saving people, like I kept calling her Batman even though calling her the Oracle would have made more sense lol. Again, need the spinoff show where Abby’s just travelling the world and solving crimes!
- I cried when she left because I know from the fandom that she’s gone forever (for the most part) and that she ghosts Buck so we never even hear her voice again ugh
- I think Bobby’s arc was my favourite, it was very nice to see him heal, then backslide a bit, then get back up and keep trying. Bathena was also my favourite relationship even though it only really showed up at the end, but they’re just so cute together
- Favourite episode was episode 7 because of the way they tied together the emergencies, it was so well done and showcase of writing talent that I’m excited to see more of! Also this is when Abby solidified herself as Batman to me, she yearns for justice and the streets of Gotham I fear.
- episode 7 is also the episode with my favourite emergency of the season, the one with the gay couple where one of them had a tapeworm! They were so funny, and honestly so was everyone involved in the scene. Buck sharing his gym bro dieting tips made me laugh so hard, and Bobby just being over it was hilarious! Despite being surrounded by other pretty dark emergencies, it didn’t feel jarring!
- my least favourite arc was the hen cheating arc, I already knew they were gonna get back together and it would never be mentioned again, and it was just not fun to watch at all. Plus Hen took over w/ the intro monologues for Abby during this arc, which cut into our already limited Abby screen time, to make metaphors about cheating on her wife. UGH!
- my least favourite character was probably actually buck (gasp!). I liked him, don’t get me wrong! But a combination of the intense second hand embarrassment he gave me at the beginning of the season and my intense overwhelming love for Abigail Clark, just made me enjoy other characters more. Sometimes I felt that he was a little too immature for her, or he’d say things that would make me cringe
- my favourite scene overall was the scene where bobby was helping buck tie his tie, and he told him he looked handsome, and they were just joking around with each other! It was so cute, such an adorable father-son moment that showed some of the growth they’ve both gone through to be able to be in this situation and interact with each other like that. Ugh just so cute, will be reading more buck and bobby father-son fics THANK YEW
- my least favourite scene was of course the scene where buck is assaulted by his therapist because what the fuck was that.
- I also really hated when everyone not only thought that Buck would cheat on my beautiful wife Abby Clark, but they were also just kinda chill with it??? It felt so weird and callous?? And kinda ooc bc they yelled at him when he was single and just slanging it, but now that he’s in a relationship they think it’s none of their business?? It was so weird, and it would have been my least favourite episode if we didn’t get that awesome closing monologue to Florence and the machine from Abby at the end, which made me cry btw
- and also if the first couple of episodes weren’t kinda rough, the season got better the later we got into it, then peaked at episode 7!
All in all, I really enjoyed this season and I’m glad I decided to stop being a fandom lurker and finally watch it! Very excited to start watching season 2 whenever I get to it, because this is the season where Maddie and Eddie enter right? And Christopher!! I predict that Maddie will probably be my favourite character of the season, bc of eldest daughter solidarity and bc from what the fandom has told me she’s literally the coolest ever
- wait i lied, Athena’s mean gay husband is my least favourite character! He just lacks so much tact and has said some things to Athena that were so damn mean! I don’t think either Athena or her husband handled that whole arc well, but sometimes her husband said stuff that was like especially cruel and unwarranted. But Bucks’ still my least favourite main character sorry!
#911 ramblings#911 season 1#911 spoilers#Abby Clark my beloved#this show has set up and developed this found family thing so well#very excited to see how they all grow into loving each other even more!

Can I please get the whole girl gang with Ori, Mela, Vaela, and Riven!
[send me a character]
Oh boy you're making me do my homework over here!
Oriana —
Favorite thing about them: I'm going to be incredibly non-specific and say that her growth as a character was my favorite part of playing her. She started out as this uptight, dutiful monk who was scared to show her own face too much for fear of making people mildly uncomfortable (and honestly to avoid invasive questions) to someone who was finally getting comfortable with who they were was such a blast. I love her newly-acquired confidence and the dynamic it brings to her post-campaign. She's far from perfect, and never will be, but she's maturing and making a new purpose for herself other than being someone's errand girl.
Least favorite thing about them: She is the worst pessimist in the world and sometimes her logic is so quick to jump to the worst conclusions that she literally puts her foot in her mouth. And it hurts for me to write that every single time due to secondhand embarrassment but I have to commit.
Favorite line: "She loved you! She still loves you!" at the Prince during the final fight while she's trying to distract him (or something like that). Or Ori's first jab at Damak "Maybe you would see more of it if you stepped out of the shadows" since it still makes me chuckle.
brOTP: Even though the Ori/Damak ship didn't sail, I still think they probably stay pretty close and end up working together on jobs in the future. They absolutely still push each other's buttons, but that's just how they are and they don't question it.
OTP: I am so mad at myself retroactively for not giving into the OriRanna feels by the conclusion of the campaign but I do not regret bringing it up afterwards and getting to enjoy it now at least.
nOTP: Ori and Cobalt are forever divorced and they barely know each other, this is just canon.
Random Headcanon: Ori has a hard time accepting the fact that Sharaea is basically keeping her distance after the Prince's defeat. In part because she does feel that connection still and worries that Sharaea is hurting, and partially because it is such a strange sensation to her to be without the dreams for so long after such a major revelation. It takes her a long time to get used to it, but she still wishes that there was more she could do.
Unpopular Opinion: I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion among our little group, but I never had intentions of making Oriana some kind of fated hero. I never had thoughts of making her tied to a major NPC or giving her any kind of serious destiny, I just wanted to play a radiant energy bomb with the aasimar/monk combo because I thought it would be funny once I pitched the idea to Sam and he told me about Damak who was basically her foil. But I do adore how her story developed and how well it ended up narratively.
Song I associate with them: So many... "Like the Dawn" by The Oh Hellos, "Warrior" by AURORA, and "Drumming Song" by Florence + The Machine to name a few.
Favorite picture of them: I like a lot but honestly one of my favs is the one I made of Chibs trying to hit on her, partly because it's Chibs and partly because I did really like how Ori's outfit came out in this one.
Mela —
Favorite thing about them: Literally the most wholesome member of the group. Not a bad bone or crystal in her body. I am so sorry for all that we put her though.
Least favorite thing about them: Only that I didn't get enough time to learn more about her and her backstory. Sigh.
Favorite line: "Real neighbors. Real family. Not just people that make you feel like you can pretend it doesn't exist."
brOTP: Mela and Halion. Druid buddies that deserve the world.
OTP: Mela is an independent Genasi who don't need no one... though I could be swayed about a certain fae...
nOTP: Literally anyone who would try to be mean to her in a relationship will meet a swift end by my hand.
Random Headcanon: 100% think that Mela's magic is flavored to look like the crystals on her body. If she wildshapes and doesn't specifically want to look a certain way, the animal she changes into will have things like crystal horns/claws, the flame sword she summons has the appearance of a crystal blade, etc.
Unpopular Opinion: I do wish she had gotten a chance to use wild shape more. I think Mela being a cute little critter sneaking around would have been amazing.
Song I associate with them: "Come Out and Play" by Billie Eilish
Favorite picture of them: That dang sketch I never colored, rip
Vaela —
Favorite thing about them: Drinking game QUEEN. Also just the fact that she doesn't take any shit while still having a lot of heart and empathy to those who earn it. Something about that balance between the two just made her all the more lovable.
Least favorite thing about them: she can out-drink my high constituion monk I do think I missed out on really getting to know her during the campaign, and I regret that a lot.
Favorite line: Not a specific line but I think back to Vaela's talks with Erosen when he was ready and willing to be her stand-in dad before Vaela was ready to reach back out to her family and i can't help but smile.
brOTP: Vaela, Riven, and Mela is the real brot3 and nothing can change my mine
OTP: I mean... I definitely have a certain paladin that turns a lovely shade of pink when someone talks about her because she sure is pretty and really cool to boot~
nOTP: Zaresh and his memory is not allowed to ever hurt Vaela again. If Damak didn't do it, Ori would have definitely put him out of his misery.
Random Headcanon: Very little thing, but I could see her gathering small, light trinkets that remind her of her friends and tie them to her bow, possibly for good luck, and possibly as a way to to tell which direction the wind is blowing when she's aiming.
Unpopular Opinion: I still think it would have been cool for her to pull an Erosen and punch Zaresh in the face. Just once.
Song I associate with them: "Dear Fellow Traveler" by Sea Wolf
Favorite picture of them: So fun fact: I never finished them but I started making emojis of the party members for kicks and here's the one I started of Vaela:
Riven —
Favorite thing about them: Riven's sassiness and perfect comedic timing always leaves me in stitches. She really felt like the heart of the party in that way.
Least favorite thing about them: This is the hardest thing and most of my "least favorite" things are mostly the things Oriana keeps fretting about when she thinks about Riven being in such a high position so I'm gonna go with not much at this time to be honest.
Favorite line: Not a line again, but specifically the scene between Ori and Riven where Riv dressed her up while Ori reassured her that she didn't think any less of Riven after they all found out about her half-drow heritage. That always felt like a major point in their friendship and I hold onto it fondly.
brOTP: I wanna say Riven and Halion just because I think their friendship was so neat, and it hurts a bit when I think about their falling out post-campaign. But there's also Riv and Damak's sibling-ish dynamic that I love a lot, too.
OTP: As much as he pushes Ori's nerves, I do think Riv and Delethil are on the same wavelength as each other and fit very well together, even with Eravin in the mix.
nOTP: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Random Headcanon: On the occasions where Oriana comes up to Aerenth on business (either with Ranna for her research or at the request of various Tyados officials who think she's got some kind of in with them because she's friends with Riven), Ori always makes a point to find Riven and any of the other girls that might be there with them after all the formalities are done and run off into the woods to find a clearing to just hang out in like they did before.
Unpopular Opinion: As much as I understand the reason why she and Del made the choice to execute Vasion, I still disagree that it was the best decision.
Song I associate with them: "Savage Daughter" by Sarah Hester mostly because of the rebellious vibes
Favorite picture of them: I mean... I think it's obvious (also bonus Vaela).

[ask me about my fic writing year in review]
@trixalicious-blog with the hard hitting asks!
16. What were you go-to writing songs?
Mostly embarrassing! When I go through my Spotify wrapped, I can basically chart out what I was writing based on them. I usually have one or two songs that go on repeat for any writing project (with other things sprinkled in when I need a change of pace), but there were a few tunes that remained consistent in the background this year and are very much things that I would only really listen to while writing. I listened to a lot of Petit Biscuit's "Wake Up" (that beat!) and "Free" by Florence + The Machine (because it makes me so happy) while writing this year.
26. If you had to choose one, what was THE most satisfying writing moment of your year?
Every time I crack another section of a WIP, I am satisfied, but writing smoother than the LA weather was kind of a trip. All I had was a line about The Real Housewives stuck in my head, my Spotify Discover Weekly hitting me with the nostalgia bomb of "Charm Attack" (which I probably hadn't listened to in at least fifteen years at that point), and a fondness for that Bloomingdale's photoshoot and I walked away with a specific Top Gun: Maverick hyperfixation that has produced thirteen fics this year alone? Unhinged! Deeply satisfying! Highly embarrassing! (But "the cataract of his charm attack" encapsulates Hangman's whole vibe perfectly so we can blame Leona Naess for all of this.)
30. What’s something that you want to write in 2024?
The Bear Mob AU. Maybe some time loop stuff I've been thinking about. I also really want to take a crack at writing that post-rescue Yellowjackets fic spanning decades told from the reporter's POV that has been pinging around my brain all year. As a side note, now is the perfect time for all of you to get unhinged over Yellowjackets if you are not already. Paramount+ is probably the most useless streaming service I have, but I'm a slave to Yellowjackets and the NWSL (and the random desire to watch Days of Thunder that hits every three months like clockwork) so I must unfortunately persist in having it, but if ever there was a reason to hit up a free trial just to mainline two seasons, Yellowjackets would be it. (They also have a tendency to give you extra months when you try to cancel the free trial so there's that. This has been a PSA.)

some "behind the scenes" stuff from this comic (read as: wips and assorted thoughts)
SOME BACKSTORY: i was halfheartedly playing through strikers after finishing p5r. the fact that akechi's not even mentioned in that whole game made me sad. the fact that akechi stops being mentioned basically the moment he dies in p5 vanilla makes me sad. i had thoughts. so i decided to make a comic about it
i wrote down the entirety of the script for this while in a complete haze listening to third eye by florence + the machine on repeat for an hour straight. that song has nothing to do with anything the comic is about. or with either of the characters involved. i can't explain my thought process there.
(the 'official' title of the comic is "a ghost amongst the living (consequences of a cognitive death.)" as a sort of tribute to that song, even though it has, again, nothing to do with what the comic is about)
THE SCRIPT: the numbers correlate to text bubbles on my thumbnails (see next). i also put it on discord so i could more easily see it/edit from either my phone or computer, which i don't think is the MOST efficient or professional way to go about doing this, but
you may notice this is a little bit different from the text on the final product. this is because. i changed some things while typing it out for the final thing. i don't know what else to tell you.
i did reach a point where i had read these same words over and over so much that i started questioning if anything i wrote made sense and if i even knew how to speak english correctly. i'd like to thank my friends for reassuring me that some of my wording was ok, and also google because every time i asked "is that even a thing people say" i would just plug it on there to try to figure it out (because i was too embarrassed to ask anyone to read over it)
THE THUMBNAILS: just a rough idea of panelling and where to put text bubbles and such. this took fucking forever. comics are hard. nobody ever tells you this (<- something i said about like 10 times to the same people while making this)
THE SKETCHES: basically grabbing the thumbnails and making them into an actual thing i can draw onto. also getting all the text laid out-- i don't think that's entirely necessary at this point but i was just excited to see it all laid out and being able to read it
(shoutout to my friend sophie for making the font i used for this/use for all my longer comics. she's an icon and a legend and has really nice handwriting)
you may notice that page 9 is completely different from the thumbnails. this is because i was tired by the time i got to that part in planning and i paid for it. brainstorming & reworking that page took me an entire day. comics are HARD. I AM TELLING YOU THIS
page 6 also changed by the time i got around to lining it because i decided that it sucked and i hated it. reworking that into something more acceptable also took me about half a day. i'm happy with how it turned out though, and glad that i no longer have the issue of having a flop ass page in the middle of this
THE PROCESS: was actually quite straightforward after that, just doing the lines and the like. but i wanted to share how i did the backgrounds. i grabbed a bunch of in-game screenshots i took for reference and just plugged them through csp's "artistic > lines only" filter and just traced over that
i love you art shortcuts that make my life & ability to make yaoi comics easier
(if you're curious too here's all the screenshots i took & was keeping on the side for reference)
ETC: some miscellaneous thoughts, because if you've made it all the way through this then you probably don't have anything better to do anyway:
all in all this took two weeks. script was written on the 11th, thumbnails were done on the 14th, sketches were done on the 17th, lining on the 24th, aaand colouring took me just one day. comics are HARD and TAKE TIME. NOBODY TELLS YOU THIS!!!!!
i actually started getting wrist pain somewhere along the 2nd day of lining/3rd page. that step of the process probably took longer than it otherwise would because i had to keep taking breaks 2 ensure i wouldn't break my hand completely -_-
my sanity throughout the lining process was only ensured by listening to a frankly stupid amount of jpop. thank you wednesday campanella and mrs. green apple
i think my favourite page is page 3. i like how the panels get crooked when akechi puts the detective prince persona on, i like how akira deadpans (in a straightened panel) to cut him off. also in order to get the hand right in the first panel i did the hair twirling motion myself and ended up hitting myself in the eye with my own hair. it was worth it though
IN CONCLUSION: i think they went a bit too hard with the yaoi fanservice in persona 5 royal
#misc#this is so long lmfao sorry i'm proud of what i made & i have a lot 2 say#i hope at least someone finds it interesting. if not. well this was entirely self indulgent so it's no biggie

What I think TMBS characters’ Spotify Wrapped would look like based entirely on vibes and my incredibly biased opinions:
Reynie
Reynie is introspective, the most openly emotional one in the group (i mean he literally declared how much he loves hugs in the S2 finale) and I 100% headcanon him as a hopeless romantic. We also know that he really likes literature and language, so I think he would like music that puts a lot of emphasis on lyrics. The first obvious artists I could think of were artists like Taylor Swift or maybe Conan Gray, and while he would probably enjoy these artists, I get the feeling he probably leans more indie-folk (because he’s a hipster and we all know it). Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell and maybe even Bob Dylan would suit Reynie’s confessional and heart-on-his-sleeve sort of attitude. For his more casual listens I could see him enjoying the likes of Fleetwood Mac, The Zombies and for more modern music perhaps Lucy Dacus, Flyte and Fleet Foxes. Now Reynie is definitely the type of person to have a ton of hyper-specific playlists for every single emotion he’s feeling and he also makes playlists for his friends and family all the time (he’s the sole cause behind Mr Benedict’s embarrassing 80s synth-pop phase). Ms Perumal plays a lot of Norah Jones, Duffy and Amy Winehouse so naturally, that trickles down into the bottom tracks of Reynie’s Spotify Wrapped list.
Top artist: Fleetwood Mac
Top track: Wild World - Cat Stevens
Sticky
While I could easily dismiss Sticky by saying that he probably only listens to classical music because that’s what smart people do that’s boring so let’s. have. fun. Given Sticky’s anxiety and overall state of mind, I think he would enjoy artists like Leith Ross and Orla Gartland whose music he can easily relate to. I also think he’s the kind of person who listens to everything his friends (though mostly Reynie let’s be honest) recommend, so his Spotify Wrapped would be a weird mix of everything from show tunes (thanks to Mr Benedict) to metal to hip-hop. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that Sticky likes to listen to male manipulator music, but not because he’s actually like that, he just appreciates the music (plus some “cool” people at Boatwright recommended it to him). So The Smiths, Radiohead and dare I say Weezer would be on his playlists. I feel like Sticky is the type of person who reads/studies in complete silence, but for those moments when he wants some ambience I can totally see him pulling out some nice jazz records. Sticky likes to be organized, so he has playlists divided by genre and artist (though not so much the overall mood of the music).
Top artist: Orla Gartland
Top track: Back To The Old House - The Smiths
Kate
My headcanon is that most of the music Kate knows is from the circus where every night they’d get together and play on some janky DIY instruments and out-of-tune guitars (Kate would play a washboard or kazoo. argue with the wall). So when she finally gets the chance to listen to recorded music, she naturally gravitates towards what she recognizes. This ends up being a lot of classic rock like The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and of course Joan Jett & the Blackhearts as well as more folk-style musicians like Bob Dylan and The Mamas & The Papas. I can also see her and Milligan sitting together out on the farm and enjoying a Bob Dylan or Patsy Cline record together. Because of this, Kate doesn’t listen to a lot of newer music, but like Sticky, she’d be open to most genres and whatever her friends recommend. As a result, I think Kate would have the widest range of genres on her Spotify Wrapped. On the one hand, I feel like she’d be drawn to Florence + The Machine and Odie Leigh, but I can also picture her sitting in one of the apple trees at the farm blasting some The Cranberries or Green Day when she’s feeling extra angsty. Maybe even something more Soul/R&B like Al Green and Lauryn Hill? Despite this large variety, Kate would also be the type of person to have just one playlist titled “Kate’s Playlist” that contains like a thousand songs (it hasn’t been edited in four years and she skips most of the songs).
Top artist: The Rolling Stones
Top track: Crimson and Clover - Joan Jett & the Blackhearts,
Constance
Given Constance’s vocal distaste for rhyming poetry, I get the feeling that she would have an equally vocal distaste for music. She’d call it “grating noise for simpletons” or something, but Mr Benedict gets her a Spotify account anyways because he just knows. And indeed, when no one’s around, Constance will blast some aggressively juvenile pop and dance around her room, because ultimately, she’s still a child. I feel like she would also love The Oh Hellos (who don’t fit into the “aggressively juvenile pop”-category, but still) and their storytelling. We do learn that Constance does appreciate art, so I think an artist with a particularly striking voice like Leontyne Price or Luciano Pavarotti (both Opera singers) would move her to tears. Overall, however, I feel like Constance doesn’t listen to a whole lot of music and when she does she doesn’t pay much mind to the artist. She also refuses to have any playlists (except for the ones she’s created by accident).
Top artist: Honestly, who knows (in my heart of hearts i want to say Carly Rae Jepsen just to be chaotic)
Top track: Soldier, Poet, King - The Oh Hellos
Bonus! SQ (because i love my son)
Much like himself, SQ would like music that’s softer and sad as hell. The first to come to mind are Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver and Gregory Alan Isakov (and I know for a fact that SQ listens to Phoebe Bridgers and Boygenius). But I could also see artists like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and The Smiths with their more upbeat melancholia be added to his playlists (along with any song about having a complicated relationship with your father/parent). Apart from that one cursed scene in S2, we don’t see Curtain enjoying any music, but I can definitely see him making sure that SQ doesn’t listen to anything he deems “unsophisticated” or “vulgar” (so no Rage Against The Machine for SQ unfortunately). When Curtain and SQ do listen to music together, it’s often classical music when they’re sitting in silence together in Curtain’s office. Since SQ is a very creative person, I can see him being drawn to more experimental stuff like Björk, Radiohead or Kino.
Top artist: Sufjan Stevens
Top track: Should Have Known Better - Sufjan Stevens

Me: I think I’ve done a pretty good job of managing the trauma from this relationship.
Also me: -starts to relax a little, rereads something kind someone said about me, and bawls uncontrollably for the next half hour-
--
Happiness hit her like a train on a track Coming towards her stuck still no turning back She hid around corners and she hid under beds She killed it with kisses and from it she fled
- “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + the Machine
--
I feel like I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
Part of me is...
...overwhelmed by this feeling of unfairness; I thought it was five years of holding my breath but it’s been a lifetime of it, of being told I’m too much, of trying to be smaller and more likeable for my own safety, of going without basic kindness because so many people made me feel like wanting them to actually enjoy me was so high a bar as to be unfair.
...wondering if it was better to be holding it; holding my breath was a way of dealing with all the background unpleasantness of my situation and to be honest it worked so how do I go back to a situation where other people expect me demand I be fulfilled with so little? What if I can’t do that again?
...intellectualizing it as a way to cope; it’s just a more believable delusion, there’s not inherent meaning, there’s nothing essentially different about this, it’s still unsatisfactory in so many ways, it’s just a different kind of suffering, etc.
...but it is different, simple and in so many ways unremarkable, but yes, different; maybe it shouldn’t be so rare to feel safe folding myself into the empty spaces of another person’s life but I don’t make the rules.
--
Me: -spends 30 years grappling with the unbearable longing to seen-
Also me: -is finally really seen and genuinely enjoyed for what might be the first time ever and just absolutely spins out from the crushing vulnerability of it-
--
the sheer embarrassment I feel at being 30 and admitting it might be the first time ever, the unbelievable shame I feel
--
the most remarkable thing about coming home to you is the feeling of being in motion again
- ”Going to Georgia” by the Mountain Goats

ok you mentioned it what would all of these fools go to karaoke songs be
I was just gonna pick songs from potential voice claims but since I'm not sure of those yet I'll avoid doing that and just go with songs that fit their vibes and themes.
Banner: I'm Not Calling You A Liar by Florence and the Machine. It is melancholy but sweet and allows her to be appreciative of her group which she can't always say in her own verbal words. Not a bad singer but is not a performer so some lyrics that should be belted are soft so as to not stand out, maybe just a tad flat due to shyness. Was most likely urged on stage and has the ads very enthusiastically cheering them on while they lament on how silly and embarrassing it all is. He still had fun in the end tho. 9/10 on the accuracy, 5/10 on voice.
Vidie: I Need a Woman to Love, Kesha Edition.Lloves the theatrics that can be involved in karaoke and wants a song that equally matches that. Was thinking of putting Hermit the Frog on her or Seventeen by Marina but so many pink ads are already Marian coded and it somewhat doesn't fit with Vidie's vibe to me. She like being the center of attention by provocing and this song does it for him. I imagine she more concerned with putting on a show than the lyrics so some things may sound off, just to get a point across or mess with the group... most likely Banner or Spam. 4/10 on voice (no control when singing) and 6/10 on accuracy.
Surv: Life in Her Yet by Rag N' Bone Man. I know you were thinking something really upbeat but I think Surv's singing voice is more suited towards mellow melancholy songs. It's probably Banner's tastes rubbing off on him or Audi's love of sentimental tracks seeping in, but he likes how they feel to sing and likes to direct the songs, especially ones like this one, to his partners. Plus it's nice to be smooth after all the intense peppiness he has to have for commercials and stuff. 7/10 on voice, 10/10 on accuracy.
Audi: Maple by Haley Kioko. This is a song that you don't necessarily need to be a strong or even great singer to sing. I like to think Audi would be playful and adlib with it, giggly like a teenager performing for their high school sweetheart(s). Audi is not a singer by any account and knows it and also doesn't care. He'll belt this song like it's a ballad for the audience and its partners but also like just them having fun. Lots of voice cracks and missed lines, maybe even asking the DJ to play something back so he can "nail it". 3/10 on voice, -100/10 on accuracy.
Spamton: Fear and Delight by the Correspondents. Idk if anyone saw the short animatic with the song but I can imagine a very not sober addispam giving the song all the energy he has and doing it pretty well. He, of course, misses some notes, but it's just the pace, tempo, and vibe he would nail if he had the confidence to do it sober. Plus, he could absolutely ham up the performance for the crowd and the other addisons. 8/10 on accuracy (the glitches mess him up) and 7/10 on voice ( a bit shy like Banner but also the glitches).
Now you may wonder what type of karaoke bar has this variety and range of songs, but you must remember this is the literal internet they live in, I think just about anything that was ever sung is at their disposal.
#me when I could have jsut listed a song but needed to go into depth#classes got cancelled cause it is basically all white outside and it's not stopping anytime soon#maybe ill finally have time for fic if I get all my work dont#or if i do fic instead#dont worry nothings overdue im safe academically#I got an ask from you asking about vidie and audi and I wanna write a chapter on it#cause i am neglecting the addisons relationships with each other outside of spamton#ask#swiftspot#utdr#spamton#when life gives you lemons#pink drink#marmalade#royal blue#all we do is date#CDAP au#deltarune

🎵 MUSIC NOTE - what is their playlist like? their favourite artists? do you associate a particular song with them? for both the band boys and your klokateer ocs, i think it's interesting since they're all music-related in their concept to see that expanded
ohhhh that's so difficult actually lmao
even tho they're all connected to music in some way, I've never really spent much time thinking about their potential playlists!
Okay, so. Way back in the very beginning when I created my metal boys I was super into Ghost BC around when the Square Hammer mv came out, so they were inspired by some select songs.
To honour these origins, I feel like Lukas would have a lot of Ghost songs on his playlist. He'd be into Judas Priest, Guns N Roses and DIO as well, Lordi, maybe some Powerwolf? Anything mystical and dark and spooky and powerful, really. To match his obsession with the Occult/Supernatural stuff.
Simon's playlist would have a lot of Rammstein (a nod to me literally growing up on that band lol), various Death Metal titles, some Nirvana, Soundgarden, other grunge-y hardrock type bands; and some scene/emo type songs (most by his favourite band HanahaKiss ofc) but he's a bit embarrassed about it nowadays. He keeps the songs on there for nostalgia reasons tho (and for occasionally daydreaming about his rockstar teenhood crush Elo hehe)
Raphael used to be really into scene/emo type music and his biggest dream came true when he joined his then-boyfriend's band HanahaKiss to play that kind of music himself! Now, he has totally distanced himself from it all due to the bad memories. He's into more gentle mystical type music: like Florence + the Machine, Aurora (mostly her All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend album), some Kate Bush, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, the Amélie soundtrack, etc. Basically anything he can get away with playing at the flower shop without scaring away his customers lol
One song in particular makes me think of young Raphael/Elo: Where's My Angel by Metro Station
---
For Rapunzel I think I already answered a while ago he'd be really into bubbly pop music (à la Gwen Stefani's Love.Angel.Music.Baby album, another childhood favourite of mine lol) as well as some very heavy growly metal!
Martin hasn't been around long enough for me to associate certain music with him, and since his main thing as a character is Being Suicidally Depressed, I don't think he'd actually listen to much if any music in that state :') Maybe once he has more reasons to stay alive, his coworkers could get him into more music! He is a diehard Dethklok fan tho (from way before his depression got so bad, his sole reason to join as a Klokateer instead of ending it) so I guess he'd have the 3 Dethalbums on his playlist for sure!
#anaalnathrakhs#ask robin#my ocs#lukas (oc)#simon (oc)#raphael (oc)#rapunzel (mtl oc)#martin (mtl oc)#thank you so much for asking about my babies!!!! 😊💕💕💕#i really need to work on actual playlists for them soon lol
