Usually I'd let things speak for themselves and keep my chattering in the tags, but I'll ramble about my context thoughts...

So. First of all here's a link (x) to the Nohats Origin Post for those coming in and going ????.

Anyway. These doodles are not in any obvious chronological order, though Loop going from pilfered bandolier (my headcanon for how Siffrin has all those pockets) -> custom outfit made by Isabeau, is supposed to generally denote 'just after the ending' -> 'a few months down the line'.

And speaking of, Design & Characterisation notes:

Overall: NoHats is suppooooosed to have the range to not just be ULTIMATE MISERY ALL THE TIME (but if you're a major whump/angst fan. go fucking nuts.) so these are supposed to be. The steps toward overcoming and living with grief but. The Misery Is Kind Of The Punchiest Part.... Oops....

Mirabelle: Taking the lead, continuing to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. In the game proper she's already shown to, while yes, be emotionally fragile at times, be prone to trying to hold the team together. I feel she'd do the same here. It also would help that she'd presumably be medicated again? But I can't imagine her chosen-one anxieities would be super ailed by the death of her friend. I wanted to try and give her more differences? She follows the change belief after all and is thus liable to switch up her style in general... But I didn't have a strong vision for this, so. The ball is in anyone's court. Her design changes here are keeping one of Sif's safety pins a la qpr bonding earring, and has the bell pendant at Loop's (oddly pushy) suggestion.

Isabeau: Taking it. Badly. Depression mullet and beard in tow. However, you best believe he is trying real badly to hide it. Loop very much does not reveal their identity to him because What The Fuck Would That Even Do. That's Scary. but they do try to comfort him while mentally regarding him "off limits". Backs themselves into some very unfortunate corners by alluding to their unfulfilled relationship with their Fighter as a point of common ground. I don't imagine this would go super great when recontextualised later after Loop is inevitably found out. Just in general oh good god what the fuck. this is like a radioactive pit of survivor's guilt.

Bonnie: Taking it probably The Worst. This is a child. Who was already feeling guilt. This is who everyone else is trying to keep it together for. Mirabelle and Isabeau would likely be putting up far less of a front without Bonnie around. They take the hat and take on Pocket Duty. They also have slightly more sif-y hairstyle but... Don't worry about it. They'd have Nille to fall back on once she's picked back up, and Loop almost certainly attempts to redouble efforts on making them feel better but seeing as how closed-off Bonnie can already be, it'd likely be difficult. However they would probably take Loop's identity reveal best...?

Odile: Odile's design.... ! Does not seem to have changed? How odd! Well. I'm sure she's dealing with things in a regular and non-cloistered manner. I already think that a regular Postcanon Activity for Odile could be her finding out about the potential for sif/loop to translate books and thus Knowledge in their native tongue assuming that ability sticks around postgame. Something something culture can never truly be wiped out etc etc. But putting it in this context. Makes it more desperate, more of a deflection for something else.

Loop: Helpful Loop. Well. They win! I feel like the entirety of ISAT being about Siffrin's mental state means I don't need to spill much ink here? You get it I think. I can't outdo the source material man. Anyway I imagine Loop is given clothes by Isabeau before they know who they are, but after they've become genuine friends. The outfit is in genuineness, on both sides from Loop and Isa, in having the cloak be a nod in respect to Siffrin, since Loop's "shared culture" would have to come up vis a vis cultural funerary traditions. Hard to avoid divulging that one...

canon/default Durge headcanons because im bored out of my mind (and im definitely not projecting onto him):

- He definitely has some sort of an anxiety disorder.

I mean his father is literally the GOD of murder and you're telling me he WOULDN'T be on fight or flight mode 24/7???

- Migraines. He sometimes would have to go find a dark and quiet place to rest in the forest when he got migraines because the camp was just too noisy. However I do think his headaches got more bearable when he was cured of his urges.

- Yeah he's got high charisma, but that doesn't mean he doesn't avoid social interactions like the plague. He knows how to get people to do what he wants (thanks to him being a former cult leader lol) but he would much rather not have to talk to people, especially strangers. Some jokes go completely over his head and he didn't even understand when some of his companions were hitting on him.

- He has a sweet tooth. I dont have any way to explain this one other than the fact that i just think he would really enjoy a good cheesecake.

- Since he's a white dragonborn he probably really enjoys sunbathing. He loves hugging his warmblooded friends both because of the intimacy and how good warmth feels on his cold scales.

- He's a sucker for terrible jokes. This man is NOT funny at all. Back when he was Bhaal's chosen he'd say these really edgy and corny things as a way to "intimidate" people and if he wasn't already scary looking, no one would take him seriously.

Gortash certainly didn't find his empty threats intimidating at all. "Oh you're going to cut me open, spill out my insides and make me watch as you make spaghetti out of my intestines? Very cute"

- Resting grumpy face. He can never really express his emotions. He would be having the time of his life and all you'd ever see is a straight face. He sometimes has to remind himself to do facial expressions. He's also quite embarrassed about his goofy smile.

His lack of expressions lead to a lot of problems with his companions back in the day.

- Insomnia. He literally can't fall asleep on his own and needs to be put to sleep via magic. He also suffers from nightmares and often wakes up multiple times at night. His past haunts him even after escaping from Bhaal's grip.

this is a complex question. unlearning shame of any kind can take a long time to sort out, and will be driven more by internal work you do to challenge and shift your own thinking than by anything else.

a good place to start may be by doing some reflection as to what you find shameful about being horny in the first place and working back from there to recognize sexuality and desire as morally neutral things.

for instance, I get a fair number of people asking if it's okay to think about real people that they know when they're horny, or masturbate to fantasies about those people. they feel a lot of shame about this, as if they're causing harm to these people by imagining them in sexual scenarios. but making up funny little scenarios in your head to nut to is a harmless act that only you will ever know about. it's not like whipping out your dick (gender neutral) and masturbating at strangers on public transit; what you do to get off in your private time only impacts you.

a problem would only arise if you decided to start treating your real, actual acquaintance, not the imaginary sexy version of them, differently, for instance by making untoward comments about their body, treating them as if they are obligated to be interested in spending time together or having sex with you, or, god forbid, telling them in detail about your sexual fantasies. now you're doing sexual harassment, which is inappropriate because of the hurt and discomfort is causes the recipient. being horny isn't the problem here, it's how you're treating another person.

people also feel a lot of shame around many other types of fantasies, especially if they involve dynamics that are off-limits or illegal in real life. often, the worry seems to be that being aroused by these imagined scenarios is akin to expressing support for these things to happen in real life.

listen: sexual fantasies about rape are some of the most commonly reported among cis women, and that's not because tons and tons of cis women secretly think that rape is a cool thing that should happen more. the people playing Baldur's Gate 3 and fucking Halsin while he's wildshaped into a bear aren't all chomping at the bit to commit a sex crime against a real animal. noticing that "teenage" characters on TV played by actors in their 20s and 30s are hot does not make anyone a pedophile. fiction is a safe realm to explore and enjoy things that we would never in a million years want to see happen in real life. I love Batman, but I can assure you I would not be a happy camper if a real-life billionaire started running around doing vigilantism in a fursuit while endangering a gaggle of teenage sidekicks.

and if you want to explore some of the stuff you're into in real life, awesome! great! there are ways to go about negotiating a lot of different kinks safely and responsibly (although probably not the bear thing, sorry about that). the world is full of people who want the experience of being stalked, beat up, kidnapped, and sexually assaulted - all mediated through pre-negotiated arrangements with people that they have chosen to enact these fantasies with them. so what is there to be ashamed of in that situation? sure, the situation you're engaging in might sound scary without proper context, but so do a lot of things. a stranger cutting open my skin, very likely causing bleeding, and leaving me with a mark that I'll have for the rest of my life sounds scary, and it definitely would be if it wasn't a situation that I agreed to! but that's also what getting a tattoo is, and that's an experience that I love so much that I pay for the pleasure. nothing to feel bad about there as long as you're playing safely!

listen: there's nothing wrong with being horny. the human sex drive is a completely natural one born from biological need that makes getting off feel good. there's no more sense in feeling shame about being horny than there is in feeling shame about being hungry or needing rest, although people do of course manage to feel bad about those as well. regardless of what causes it, when you feel the shame well up you have to push back on it and ask yourself who actually directly benefits from you feeling badly about yourself in that moment, and who is actually tangibly hurt by the actions you're shaming. and if the answer is "no one," move it along!

Also I've been thinking on how exactly was Lautrec supposed to bring Soul of Anastacia to Fina when all Gods except for Gwyndolin left long ago 🤔

But this actually makes sense? In Dark Souls lore, Fire/Light is the source of the time as we know it! This is why time is falling apart and people who are long dead can be met again and there are time loops (our Undead being the one who sealed the Abyss even though it already happened before they existed): because Fire is currently dying! So, as for all those Golems and soldiers in Anor Londo who disappear if we "kill" Gwynevere; maybe rather than just being powerful illusions, they were from the past! Manipulating the light in the conditions of it dying can cause some time rifts, if you know what you are doing! So, by creating even an illusion of a lot of light, Gwyndolin was able to make Anor Londo a little bit actually fall into its past.

But maybe Lautrec even met Fina through one of such time rifts, and believed he knew how to do it again, even if she only exists in the past technically. Again, time becomes weird now, so.. Needless to mention that Anastacia was punished as a Firekeeper by being imprisoned and having her tongue removed, that is also a punishment she agrees with! By the Dark Souls 3 time, Firekeepers get blinded so they don't envision Age of Dark that is yet not the case at Dark Souls 1 but it is still implied Anastasia committed some sort of "herecy" against Fire, speaking of the Dark, maybe "herecy" with consequences even?

Fina was also a Goddess of Love, and Lautrec seeks her around the chamber of Gwynevere, who embodies both love and light 🤔 Fertility and light, particularly. She probably was one of Gwyn's wives then, and moreover affiliated with Light! Like, maybe Lautrec doesn't hunt just any Firekeeper for her, and it makes sense because they are helping the Fire! Not to advocate for Lautrec being more sane than this of all people but vfhggggh He'd know killing allies of Fire was NOT the way to prove devotion to HER! I really doubt she was on "occult" side of things. Except Anastacia, who either did cause something drastic against the Fire even if by accident, or was a threat of doing so (I lean more towards former variant). He wanted to kill Anastacia specifically.

There is a question whether Fina would've even approved of this sort of "gift"! On the one hand, it doesn't feel very fitting for a Goddess of Love! On the other hand, love conceptually has a scary side in which people can and will kill everything that threatens it, so that could include Fina herself seeing a Firekeeper that threatened the Fire (appointed source of life and all good things) as such threat. But I also wonder about potential consequences? Dark Souls story deals with some assumptions about player's actions; Abyss was sealed assuming the Chosen Undead sealed it, Gundyr became an Iudex assuming Ashen One defeated him. Time loops are unavoidable due to what the creeping Darkness does to the time as a concept.

Maybe likewise, it is assumed that the player will prevent Lautrec from taking Anastacia's Soul for good and giving it to Fina via weird time rift shenanigans! .....or, what if the opposite should be assumed? Maybe assuming Lautrec succeeded (or at least just informed) was the trigger when the whole Way of White learned Firekeepers have the capacity to ruin everything with envisioning the Dark and that's why Firekeepers were prohibited of meeting each other from the start (according to Darkmoon Knightess). So one rotten apple would not rot the whole basket, so to say!

on a dime thinking about characterstics different pcs tend to share across the players.

charlie: everyone says it and it is so real, religious trauma and imagery cause i mean literally just look at peter and exandroth, gillion's whole deal being the chosen one, william's incredible distress discovering the absence of god. horror but especially body horror cause AGAIN peter and exandroth, gillion's often scary n fishy descriptions, the way charlie describes how ghoulish william looks with william literally decomposing. comically exaggerated personalities with gillion the most hero of heroes he's so hero just look at his titles, peter to be mistaken for a literal doormat, exandroth the fanatical violent all around super evil angelic force, william wisp the freak from deadwood who has ghost powers and was so dedicated to solving mysteries he died that's his thing. might i say they are all quite obsessive, gillion obsesssed with being the chosen, peter obsessed with rocks and lizard, exandroth obsessed with retribution, william obsessed with mysteries, and this can create a strong disconnect with the world around them. of the pcs i would say they are usually the most outcast of outcasts and the most freak of freaks. also autism.

bizly: very straightforward characters with no subversion, what you see is what you get. NORMAL, AVERAGE, UNDERWHELMING, these are terms you can use to describe chip rand AND connor <- also they all have the same brown hair. this makes their badass moments stand out and be triumphant, where would we be without chip's badass sword, rand's badass finale, connor's horrifying but also sort of badass moment with the book, and also thanatos is a compilation of every badass moment bizly could probably ever want. there's always some sort of family issues see chip no family, rand strained relationship with family, connor i think had something going on but i cant remember, thanatos and the holy family. definitely most likely to get into conflict with other pcs might i say, gillion and chip, rolan and rand, rumi and thanatos, that's literally one of every other players' character what can i say.

grizzly: these characters are all struggling to live up to incredibly idealised persona and for the most part end up failing, rumi's persona literally breaking down until they shed it completely to be true to themselves, dakota always trying to be a hero which has worked out so far but we're just waiting for something bad to happen, kian who pretended to make it as a rockstar after most definitely failing, aster is by proxy sort of failing to live up to the perfect persona that is her father. shapeshifters? i mean rumi is a changeling, aster can alter her form, dakota has a feral mode, and kian got bugged so you know (joke). lot of these characters are incredibly gender lets be honest here.

condi: feel an intense pull towards conforming, jay struggling to push against her family, vyncent from another world trying to adjust and appear normal, rolan getting a respected profession, everything with ryan. there is a struggle of identity that is incredibly external, jay as a pirate vs the literal navy, vyncent's repeated experience of sharing a body, rolan being a fucking bug, ryan had a confrontation that was the most direct thing you could bear witness to. the actual perfect balance of two very smart characters and two of the most incredibly stupid characters i have ever seen. honestly very on point about their observations of others and themselves but can find difficulty to express that to other.

and i totally forgot about the prequel pcs but ms g and finn are also autistic, harlem shade definitely has that classic super cool persona also gender, jason king god bless this normal dude dragged into whatever the fuck the other two have going on, arlin is the source of the family issues. i literally am too tired to write anymore so i apologise if i fucked stuff up i cant be bothered anymore send post.

Whenever I start consuming some sort of story I usually start asking myself: who would the characters be in a dnd campaign. Not who’d they play, who’d they be in a dnd-like world, so I’m doing this with 100 gfs. I will also be including mystic and blood hunter, but not any other stuff except the officially published stuff. I’ll only be trying to say which class and subclass fits them the most. Feel free to comment or suggest.

Rentarou: let’s start off with our main man himself: rentarou he was one of the characters that I had to do the most process of elimination. I considered bard, barbarian, cleric and heavily considered blood hunter (he actively hurts himself and pushes himself beyond his limits causing some kind of ailment, also he’s frequently called love monster), but I ultimately decided on paladin because although rentarou is aggressive at times, he would mostly want to help, support and defend his girlfriends and paladin is a weird mix of support, defense and damage. As for the subclass, devotion seems like the right one, although the most basic of paladin subclasses it is arguably one of the most defensive and supportive ones, also the tenets feel in line with Rentarou. He would mostly have healing or buffing spells. But let’s be real, Rentarou would probably be level 20 in every class.

Hakari: a difficult one to think of, but in dnd Charisma is not exactly charm, If not force of personality and people skills, and well, I’d say she’s very forceful, additionally we can see that she can be very scary at times, intimidation is also part of charisma, so add a point to that. Now we know that charisma would be her main stat, so we would have to go with either: bard, paladin, rogue, sorcerer or warlock. Now for the longest time I had her be a wild sorcerer before uploading this post, but arcane trickster is right there (the only thing is you’d need to change the spell casting ability to charisma instead of intelligence). It’s a subclass that is defined by trickery and enchantment in class that can is already very strong in charisma checks if needed. She would probably have high deception, persuasion and a lot of enchantment spells.

Karane: barbarian is the obvious pick, it’s strength based and has rage. Now the subclasses were where I really struggled, because none of them felt right, is what I would say before glory of giants. Although you make a case for the others that aren’t Path of the Giants, like maybe ancestral guardians because she has a big family, maybe beast because tsundere = cat, maybe zealot, because she was technically chosen by a god, maybe berserker because that’s like the base subclass or maybe battlerager, because why the fuck not? And even though it’s not perfect it does have one thing that all the others didn’t, it being a subclass that somewhat focused on being able to physically overpowering others, which sounds weird, but the ability to turn giant and being able to toss people around is something that we don’t really see in other subclasses. Also she would focus on grappling more than normal.

Shizuka: also an easy one, a wizard is as connected to books as they are with spells, also high dexterity and high intelligence makes a great wizard. Now also like Karane, the subclass is difficult to decide on, so process of elimination: shizuka is literally incapable of being aggressive so that knocks out bladesinging, evocation, necromancy and war magic. She also doesn’t really create or change things, so bye bye conjugation and transmutation. She doesn’t really have a relationship with time so no chronurgy nor divination. She doesn’t really fuck with other people’s minds, so illusion and enchantment are both a no. And that leaves us with abjuration, graviturgy and scribes. I ended up choosing abjuration, mostly because of the vibe, although shizuka has (accidentally) fucked with gravity before and is very dependent on her book, abjuration just feels like shizuka, she’s a gentle soul with a big heart even for Rentarou’s family standards. She’s eager to protect and help anyone she can, also it’s funny to think that maybe all the abjuration magic she uses on herself is actually people not wanting to hurt her. She’d use protective and crowd control spells.

Nano: eccentric and intelligent are two words that describe nano, those are basically the words that describe everything mystics are. Apart for that, mystics can work as utility and skill monkeys , something nano would be. Awakened makes the most sense to me because it’s very much about having high mental capacities and utility.

Kusuri: this one was also very easy: alchemist artificer, it’s just a medieval chemist. She’d also have a lot of buffing, debuffing and some damaging spells and infusions.

Hahari: this one is was the hardest one yet, but one thing I do know is that Hahari would definitely be a support. I ended up thinking of Divine sorcerer. This is mostly because she’s persuasive, she’s good with people (we don’t really see it, but she is), she’s intimidating and she was also born powerful, rich and beautiful. Now as I said before I wanted her to be a support and lookie here a support subclass that also manages to also have a trait that is also somewhat in line to who Hahari is, divinity. For some reason, whether accidental or purposefully, Hahari has had a fair bit of divine imagery relating to her, the biggest example of which is that she was called “The Mother of All Humanity” in chapter 43. She’d probably be a buff and debuff character.

Kurumi: … I’m starting to regret this. I’m going with barbarian (not just cuz the other tsundere is), but because rage could easily be reflavored as her craving some food. Then there’s the perfect subclass for her: beast, mostly because there’s a bite attack, also quick honorable mention to storm herald, which can emulate her very cold demeanor. She would also probably have high constitution, considering how much she can eat.

Mei: Mei’s a cleric, any questions? Ok, but really apart from Mei being the class that has been delegated to purely support makes sense, but also clerics are different form paladins because paladins are loyal to ideals, clerics are loyal to gods, and I can say with confidence that Mei probably views Hahari as a goddess or something similar. I was considering order, because, it’s Mei, but life I think makes the most sense, because, at least for Mei, Hahari represents life as she was rescued by her and is a very maternal figure, as well as the fact that she deals with Hahari losing blood a lot.

Iku: first thing of note of iku is that she has extremely high constitution, being able to receive pain like a champ and train for hours without end. Secondly, she’s strong, it’s not brought up often, but she is. Thirdly, she’s dedicated (obviously), that’s why fighter makes the most sense and who is the most dedicated fighter archetype, that also has additional tanking capabilities? Samurai. She would probably also use a warhammer (or a reskinned warhammer) as it’s the most baseball-like weapon in the game.

Mimimi: I think mimimi would be the type of person I’m to consider makeup as an art from, either way bard just makes sense. High charismatic and dexterous characters that shine in a crowd. Also college of glamour because of pretty.

Meme: while rogue would make the most sense in theory, I actually think monk would work best, but that’s mostly because of the subclass: way of the shadow, which is just ninja monk. Specifically the features “shadow step” and “cloak of shadows” makes it so the monk can teleport and go invisible whenever they want as long as they’re not in bright light. It just makes sense to give the character that can basically teleport whenever be able to basically teleport whenever.

Chiyo: i guess being a paladin runs in the family AYO. Anyways, yeah like the said paladin makes sense to as she is a person that is very obedient and believes in order and rules. She’s as well as a pretty aggressive person at times, but means well. Oath of the crown is the obvious choice as it’s all about law and order.

Naddy: I originally thought “hey, fighters make really good cowboys, maybe even better than ranger. Let’s find one a subclass that represents freedom or something similar” as I didn’t really know what to do with Naddy. Then I saw the banneret fighter, and that was just Naddy, an inspiring warrior whose feats inspire others to do the same, who not only fights for them but supports those around her. Which makes sense Naddy has been seen inspiring others and helping them get over stuff. She would use pistols or hand crossbows.

Yamame: Yamame is the most druid-ass non-druid character I’ve ever seen, although in dnd a Druid with high constitution and strength but low wisdom would probably not be that great. Side tangent aside shepherd druid just makes sense, apart from them being able to speak with animals and being one of the most defensive and supportive druids, let me just show you a blurb of the flavor text: “These druids recognize that all living things play a role in the natural world, yet they focus on protecting animals and fey creatures that have difficulty defending themselves.”, this is yamame.

Momiji: although a lot of classes can heal with their hands in dnd, mercy monk made the most sense to me, not only does it use wisdom (being in tune with the world around them) and dexterity (how good you are at moving you body). It also made sense since (although it isn’t making people fall asleep) monks can temporarily paralyzed people. They are also people that are dedicated to their art.

Yaku: i don’t think y’all expected something different: Alchemist Artificer. She’d probably have more healing or buffing stuff that Kusuri.

Kishika: we can’t really translate kishika being a baby into dnd (apart from it just being a personality trait), so her knightly personality will be the main focus. Though devotion paladin and kensei monk makes sense, paladin if we want to lean more into her chivalry part and monk for more of a fast and heavy hitter type of deal, I think that cavalier fighter is best of both worlds. Fighter already has a lot of attack and even more with action surge and cavalier has both the flavor of a honorable knight that protects the innocent and someone who is able to swing their sword a lot.

Ahko: Ahko was the hardest one, so I tried to boil her characteristics down, she’s very physically unfit, she loves cute things, she loves sharing the things she loves and she’s some one who is really good at keeping the family happy and together. I ended up with peace cleric, because while she doesn’t really have any religious stuff in her character or worships someone, the rest just made sense, it’s high wisdom, meaning she has high insight and can help and figure out the other girls, it’s a full spell caster, not usually the most fit in the group, it represents kindness, community, and resolution of conflict. As well as the fact that like half of the subclass’s features are bonds. Honorable mention to redemption paladin, similar flavor, but just too beefy for Ahko.

Uto: We can agree that she’d be a bard, I’d like to think that most of her attack spells are just her trying to play music but ending up hurting others. Now for the subclass lore bard makes sense to me, being a pretty basic subclass, while having some abilities that fit in with her personality like cutting words in which and I quote “you learn how to use your wit to distract, confuse, and otherwise sap the confidence and competence of others.” Uto literally did this to basically every gf In her introduction to the family. Also additional magical secrets, which basically makes it so she can have any spells she wants, very Chuuni.

Mai: Much like her “sister” she admires someone so deeply that it’s borderline religious, so she’s also a cleric. Light would probably be her subclass, because it’s not just the burn everything subclass it’s also about rebirth (Mai trying to be more like Mei), truth, vigilance (being a vigilant maid) and beauty (her sister of course.

Momoha: Drunken Master Monk just makes sense in a purely flavor-wise sense. Her Buddhist themes make sense as monks are largely based on Buddhist monks. They’re wise, using a lot of wisdom, which makes sense since ethics could be considered a very wise profession. Also alcohol (although drunken masters aren’t technically constantly fucked up, but yeah).

Rin: as you may have seen, some characters with duel personas or twists haven’t really been represented fully which I’m sad I can’t really do, but it would mostly boil down to roleplay, but Rin is a special case because Eloquence Bard fits her royal personality, love for violin and unsettling interest for violence. Of course Rin really isn’t a violent person herself, but enjoys seeing other be violent, boom a support class. She’s very charismatic, boom bard. She’s very elegant, boom eloquence college. Suu: might seem weird, but Suu is character that has a very firm and strong belief that she holds as an unshakable truth and uses her passion to convince others to think so as well. That’s a paladin. Now the subclass was even harder to figure out, but even though I’m not 100% confident saying this, but vengeance makes the most sense, she seeks retribution for the unfair treatment of numbers!

Eira: monks are the class for martial arts practitioners, and open hand monk is the most basic monk of monks.

Tama: Druid kinda makes sense for her, as she is all but physically a cat, she can make the remnants of her human form disappear for a bit with wild shape. And while moon might seem like the obvious choice as it encourages high usage of wild shape, I think that dreams makes more sense, as it’s about rest, tranquility and sleep, something Tama really care about.

Saiki: First things first, a Talented charismatic preformer, sounds like either a sorcerer or a bard, more so a bards, but she is pretty abnormal. Wild magic sorcerer is probably the best option, the amount of raw abnormal and chaotic energy just radiates off her. She would just have a mismash of spells that just don’t combo well or combo weirdly.

Exactly, there’s the crossover, the god Talon one and then there’s the one where traveler (ambassador?) Talon falls in love with Aiden, who is god-chosen of Sgean, god of the hunt. Now a dha’ir is not exactly the best person to fall for, because their life is dedicated to their god and some gods don’t like to share…

Dare I say fae are tricksters in most stories about them (though not always evil ones xD). I have fae like those too, some of my wild fae are known tricksters.

I could see Talon be one of them and pranking Aiden xD he’d be his favorite victim for jokes and no it’s not because Aiden looks cute when he pouts and it’s definitely not because he has a crush on him, Maya, why would you say that?

The fun thing is that canon Aiden and Talon are not even that different from their AU versions! They are just more confident and also more bitter in that AU. And they only really have each other. But besides that they’re basically the same.

I think to a degree it would be a bit scary for canon them to meet their other version because they would recognize themselves in them and see what they could’ve become.

Depending on what state Taiden’s relationship is at, it wouldn’t even be too surprising to Talon if Aiden flirted with him, cause canon him is very good at flirting with Talon too and likes doing it quite often (when they start dating that is, a Talon that is not dating Aiden would probably lose it - and not just him, Aiden would probably blush about his own version’s boldness if he knew).

And canon Aiden in AU Aiden’s body would either be hella confused or totally thrilled about this version’s lifestyle (once he got over the being scared of himself part)

Hi there! I know this took forever to do, when I do kinktober, I prioritize those asks. But! I’ve had this baby written for a while now, I’m just posting it now, y’know? Anyways! As a person, admittedly Naoto is not the most terrifying. They’re short, they pass for male, but it’s at least a more effeminate male, so not intensely intimidating. All around, they aren’t Kanji, as a simple, regular ass cop on the street, they aren’t a threat.

But as a platonic yandere, Naoto is a scary motherfucker.

While they can pass for a friendly neighborhood cop, they’re still. A police officer. They have experience with what criminals do that leads to their capture. They’ve got access to a lot of ways to track you, or find your information.

They know how to destroy your life, how to get away with it, how to lie to other cops, it’s a lot. So, escape is not an easy thing to achieve.

Plus, with the lack of real respect they get, other officers don’t really think much of them and their skills.

Which, ends up helping a bit because nobody cares to check them because, there’s no way Naoto is the criminal, right?

All of this comes together to make them a hellishly difficult Yandere to get away from. Even though they’re probably one of the least violent to their chosen friends.

New friends? No. They don’t pass the vibe check, Naoto’s going to get the arrested to keep them away from you.

A potential partner? Absolutely not, no one is taking your attention away from your bestest possible friend. Murder is not that hard to do if you frame Adachi.

Granted, Naoto’s not romantically interested in you, so they has no sexual intentions.

That being said, they still not going to just, let you get mixed up with the wrong crowds.

And god forbid they find some form of evidence of a crime you’ve committed. You can be sure that this motherfucker would use it to blackmail you.

If they can’t find anything to keep over your head, they’ll MAKE it. After all, they know how to fabricate evidence and make that shit look legit.

1. Hubert and Ranbutler are gonna be very interesting in this au. For Hubert he is a Shadar Kai Fey Wanderer Ranger! Shadar Kai are very fun— since they are elves that are between life and death! So he wouldn’t be *undead*, but he would be something that’s for sure!

Especially since the Egg is influencing him :3 (The Egg is the reason he is that specific ranger-)

But he’s very scary, one of Billiam’s closest servants and would kill someone if needed but hides it with polite smiles and being obedient.

Ranbutler would be a Half Elf Rogue Assassin! Hes- silent. A lot of the time unless he talks but is very loyal to Sir Billiam, even though he treats him horribly. He doesn’t remember where he used to live at, but he knew it was somewhere in a more rustic area of the Badlands and that’s it. It’s been a while for him since he was taken during the war.

Billiam and Hubert have been in this world for a long time while Ranbutler is still new to everything basically!

2. Billiam and Techno are related! The way I’m framing it is that Billiam is probably a distant relative of his that Techno thought honestly died long ago (but then again Techno lived longer than he should too due to The Blood God’s Blessing) but he honestly never thought much of Billiam. He’s heard bits about him way back and was just like “yeah that guy sucks” bc well- he’s a rich pompous bastard HDJDDJ

The reason I wanted to make them related in the au is to show like how different these two are— especially bc Techno could have easily became Billiam since Techno was chosen that path but he decided to be his own guy. And even though they’re different Dream especially sees key differences- like even though Billiam is a half orc he sees stuff that reminds him of Techno.

3. Yes! The Masquerade Arc is based on the Tales Stream! The same for the Pit arc too! The way how it goes would be different actually! This would be a way for the Party to prove their trust to the Kinoko Kingdom— King George asks them to assist their Grand Wizard Karl with a problem and Karl explains to them that this masquerade party he went to years ago had some very weird shit in it and he heard it’s been happening ever since still- and he basically forges them invited and tells the party to go in and figure out what’s really happening since he doesn’t know what he saw was real or not. And once they complete that mission then Karl can help them get on Sapnap and George’s good graces!

That doesn’t mean some characters from the initial masquerade won’t show up as some.. interesting guests after all ;)

4. I am so glad you asked about Karl bc he is my favorite. Karl is a “Winter” Eladrin Chronurgy Wizard!

Eladrin are very fun for me bc they change by the seasons from how they are emotionally as well as just in general— but he would be a winter one due to how well- detached he is. Detached and lost.

Karl is basically a very powerful time wizard who was trying to help make things not go to shit during the war time wise. Even though Dream had nothing to do with messing with time magic, some of the wild magic during the war was getting intense and fucking with time itself so Karl had to go back in time and do missions on his own to prevent it from happening.

He originally was a Fall Eladrin actually! But then over time the more he was doing what he needed to do he was becoming forgetful and became well- the Karl everyone knows now.

He’s still nice! He’s just— spacey and not trusting. He has an archive of all his adventures and what happened as well as other journals but he doesn’t like to read them since they don’t feel real. He never leaves his tower in Kinoko Kingdom and Sapnap has to check up on him constantly.

Him, Quackity and Sapnap used to be together right after the war but a year before the whole story began with Cala they had a messy fight since Karl didn’t remember Quackity at all and Quackity wasn’t in the right headspace.

Karl and Sapnap are still together but it’s- distant. Very distant.

He’s just a very secluded wizard in the tower who’s scared that if he goes out he’ll lose whatever memories he has left.

I agree with you about all the issues of The Chosen, but i didn't understand the mislabeling mental ilnesses, were you referring to Mary Magdalene?

Ehhh kind of? Moreso the way they picture possessed characters in general.

While I understand that demons, and more specifically possession, are a part of biblical Canon, the way they are tackled in The Chosen is distasteful in my personal opinion.

The primary reason being that the symptoms used to indicate possession have a heavy overlap with symptoms of real life mental health issues and physical conditions.

Such as:

Seizure

Strokes

Tourretes/other involuntary movements

Meltdowns/outbursts/anger issues

Panick attacks

Hypermobilty

Schizophrenia or similar disorders

Drug use disorders

Self injury

Really anything that may cause unpredictable behavior, distorted sense of self, ""unnatural movements"", low/no empathy and bad understanding of social cues (actually happened to me once, weird story), and WAY more. This is in no way a conclusive list.

This actually has a sort of explanation. Because back in Ye Olde Times of Jesus Christ they didn't have these kinds of diagnoses. So, they would have come up with something to explain these undesirable behaviors. This is exactly why early civilizations have mythology and religion to begin with, in order to explain what they don't understand.

In Mary Magdaline's case specifically, she showed a lot of symptoms of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, etc. And for a moment, I was actually really excited to see where they would take this narrative. To me, it seemed very clear that they were intending to have serious discussions of mental health. Until later in the show, it was revealed that it was, in fact, SERIES CANON that a demon possession was the thing that cast her into the initial situation.

Added with every other demon possession in the show....

I think it's pretty self-explanatory why this is bad, but for those who need it: this only isolates disabled people from the church, dehumanizes them, teaches people they are scary, unnatural, undesirable, and in extreme cases corrupt. It makes the religion as a whole look... quite unsavory.

And while it might seem absurd or irrelevant now, I am very sorry to tell you that there is a crowd of people out there who still genuinely believe in demon possessions. I myself have been accused (once again, complicated), and I have a family member who was also accused. I know that's only two cases, but that's two too many in one lifetime if you ask me. And even if people don't believe that, there is still a very real stigma that follows it.

Now, I understand that with those sorts of events happening in the Bible, the show writers probably didn't want to cut them out. BUT with a semi-omnitient son-of-God character in their toolbelt, they could just say that while the main cast assumes it's a demon, Jesus knows its not really (maybe plays along just for the sake of not confusing anyone) and helps the individual and their problem.

This fix would not only help humanize people with these struggles, instead of LITERALLY demonizing them, but it would also add a little more intrigue to Jesus as a character, especially in a place where disabled folks previously felt unwelcome.

10. How do they feel about their relationship with Hydaelyn? Midgarsormr?

Beef doesn't have Hydaelyn's blessing, at least not in the form of the Echo or her traveler's ward, and he's never been a devout sort so he doesn't really revere her or the Mothercrystal as gods. He also traveled to the First via the same means as the Scions, so he wasn't able to visit Elpis. His most noteworthy interaction with her would have been via the Word of the Mother, at least before Endwalker. I think Beef is really insightful with people, though, and he'd be able to pick up on the fact that she means well and wants to help. I think the two of them would've gotten along very well had they ever met, since they both share the same love for people, life and the world. Even if Eryna and Caranar are her champions, Beef represents the pedestrian joys which make sundered existence a life worth living, and the capacity for love and growth that the sundered harbor. I think during the one time they meet face to face, they reach a firm understanding of each other. He keeps a shard broken off of her form after the encounter in Endwalker so he can bring her along on new adventures.

As for Midgardsormr, I think he would allow Beef to pet him even though it probably annoys him to be treated like a pet. Maybe he's not one of Hydaelyn's chosen but he's still one of her children.

13. Are they close with any of the other Scions? Who do they get along with the best? 

In my mind Beef gets along best with Alisaie because they both value action over words, followed by Ryne and Alphinaud. Most of the Scions enjoy his curiosity and that he is an attentive listener, being scholars themselves, so after the youngest scions I'd say he gets along best with Urianger, G'raha, and Y'shtola in that order. He also had a healthy, athletically competitive vibe with Lyse. Tataru appreciates that he is a good helper even if he can be a little difficult to direct, and Papalymo, Thancred and Estinien likely find him a little inscrutable and exasperating.

14. Of the Scions, who are they most worried for?

Definitely Ryne during Shadowbringers. While they hit their own individual roadblocks early in ShB, Alphinaud and Alisaie are highly capable and had a firm direction with to put their frustrations to use, but Ryne's suppressed turmoil is something Beef would pick up on very quickly. I think the depth of her troubles and Thancred's role in them was likely beyond him, but once they met I figure he spent a lot of the time between Rak'tika and Amh Araeng holding her hand or leading her around. I'm not sure she would've realized he was going out of his way to do it for her, but it would've surely been calming nonetheless. He would be glad to know that she and Gaia are well.

24. Does your WoL have any phobias? 

Beef has a fear of large bodies of water and the open sea. The biggest body of water he knew growing up was the bathing spring back home, so finding out that there were oceans was a pretty unwelcome shock. Part of it is the unfamiliarity of that much water in one place, part of it is that he's afraid of things he can't overcome by winning a fight, y'know. Like, ghosts, ghouls, draculas: not scary. bootshine. Drowning? Losing his home again? SB-era Zenos? scary

His fear of water has gotten more manageable and I mainly credit that to his figuring out how to make an air bubble with Gale's help and going on fishing trips with Kozu. He still doesn't like long boat rides, though. So going to the Far East for the first time and the inevitable trip to Tural are not fun times for him.

29. Did your WoL suspect anything was amiss with Urianger or the Crystal Exarch? Did they feel betrayed? Upset? When the truth finally emerged? 

For both of them, I think Beef is too trusting and naive to feel very betrayed for very long. Moreso I think he would be confused, but accept their explanations and apologies with basically no resistance, because they're friends. Surely they mean well, right? Beef is pretty in tune with others' emotions, so the guilt Urianger feels as he bears the duties before him and the Exarch's resolute dedication and devotion to the Warriors of Light would speak louder than the backwards framing through which they've convinced themselves that they're villains or traitors.

That said, I think Beef's curious nature would make it very difficult for the Exarch to maintain his anonymity. The moment he makes a conscious effort to hide his face that shit turns into a game. He would manage, but he'd be in a constant state of uncertainty as to what Beef had or had not figured out. Beef is also playing at a disadvantage having been stripped from Gale while on the First due to his calling, but I doubt the Exarch would want to take many chances with how perceptive Beef can be.

Personally I liked the movie, but then again I like most movies.

jayden & kyle’s family dynamic is so funny to me. elizabeth was like “my ex husband is a piece of shit but now i have two kids (jayden and jordan)” and mary was like “my husband died so now i have to raise 4 kids on my own (brandon, benjamin, victoria, kyle)” and they decided to collab. but elizabeth arguably got the shorter end of the stick she probably could’ve handled 2 kids as a single mom 😭 finance wpuldn’t be a problem she’s a doctor, and some of her family was willing to help. she was just so ashamed she ending raising them w her friend from high school

but despite being comprised of 2 single mothers and 6 insane chilsren they are such a silly family. like you have mary the mean mom, elizabeth the nice mom. brandon is the very well adjusted and ordinary older brother. benjamin is the guy who tries but fails to be an asshole. jordan is the older sister who cares for others more than she cares about herself. victoria is simply A Little Gal and a little transgender with it. kyle is like if a shy lil guy was bullied in middle school and then tried to be more like benjamin and just ended up being a shy lil guy who is now jacked and looks scary. and jayden is. well. jayden is very autism (affectionate)

kyle and jayden are the only ones who don’t remember their dads at all. kyle would ask his brothers, sister, and mom about him all the time but jayden wouldn’t give a shit and constantly forget that that guy was even there. i mean he’s not even jayden’s bio dad, and definitely not legal or chosen dad, so to them he’s just their mom’s ex husband.

they’re all so close knit but jayden and kyle are the most 🧑‍🤝‍🧑. i mean they’re inseparable as kids and well into adulthood. they clearly didn’t get tired of each other bc they chose to get a place together along w some friends. it’s definitely like ☺️ but also a little bit of oh god i am constantly so afraid for you. that feeling of survival from their school years def affected them still. even if for jayden it didn’t apply for themself, they’re definitely still somewhat protective of kyle

also like cheyenne is the only friend out of them (jayden, kyle, and mitch) who is like well adjusted and capable of handling and loving both themself and the world around her. jayden has a tendency to blame themself, kyle is easily mistrusting of others, and mitch thinks it’s physically impossible for him to be loved. cheyenne is Just Chilling while her friends need therapists

also can we talk about mitch??? bro didn’t know how to make friends for most of his childhood and decided he didn’t care anyway. his peers just didn’t want to hang out so WHATEVER. and when he makes friends w someone as autistic as him but in a different way and he still feels distant from the group he’s like. damn maybe i’m the problem. so when it comes to it he prioritizes himself over the group bc they probably didn’t like him anyway so WHATEVER. and then they’re actually really sad and he’s like oh shit i screwed up damn i am so bad at this. jayden has to drag his ass back in college when he’s like imm so sorry ily guys so much but i screwed up so bad i am telling you you do not want 2 b friends with me

and while mitxh was having angsty high school and kyle as well cheyenne and jayden were literally just enjoying their youth. cheyenne was one of those people who had a high school glow up in terms of self-confidence, she survived the caterpillar goop of middle school. jayden just joins the soccer team and then has a high school romance of sad girl x quiet guy x class clown beginning as a love triangle and ending in polyamory

and then college and then big lore thing oh no!!!! :( fuckibg APOCALYPSE and INTERNAL CONFLICT and now everyone is separated!!!!! jayden gets the systen treatment, cheyenne goes on a quest for vengeance, kyle does some weird anime hero shit, mitch has a revelation, sidney (aforementioned sad girl) gets even sadder, and milo (aforementioned quiet guy) is living in a classic zombie apocalypse type scenario

jayden has a plural and hecomes jesse jayden and hikaru!!!! some omori type shot tbh. jayden is like well see you guys later and goes to bed and dreams that nothing bad ever happened. hikaru is some self-penitent freak who ends up leading a rebellion. jesse is simply pissed at everyone and is only looking out for herself. and when they all learn about each other it’s a constant power struggle since hikaru is like dude we need to do The Right Thing, jesse is like i’m tired of this and i do not want to partake in your hero complex, and jayden is like hey what’s going on. are we going to die

and it’s a little weird bc they probably have some internalized pluralphobia at first since they’re not rly educated on this sort of thing beyond the classic shitty serial killer trope. and the way they are there’s not really a single core, they’re all kinda connected to who they were b4 being plural and all have had times of hosting. so there’s sort of conflict about who’s the “real one.” jayden thinks they’re kind of like invaders in their body who just took control of their life (since their memory is just preplural times), hikaru thinks they’re like impulsive/irrational thoughts, and jesse thinks they’re naive or childish thoughts. so no one is taking each other seriously n it sucks a lot at first!!!

and then cheyenne is js. upset that everything has happened so this turns into anger that she then directs through politics and ends up committing mass murder and leading a wannabe oppressive regime
