So in your most recent ramble on Theories technically isn't Frank being atheist slightly concious of what's going on cannon since artwork of him being aware of other puppet parts was in the recent update? What if some neighbors really know nothing but others actually do know of a little bit of what's happening but Wally doesn't realize they do so he tries to keep face?

Though I'll admit with your idea of that not being the "Real" Barnaby in the Interview may explain why Wally went really quiet during the interview even when being directly asked things once Barnaby showed up

Kind like he was so focused on the "That's not Barnaby. Why do they Look like him? Who are They??" That the Interviewers questions got completely ignored as "Barnaby" answered the question instead until Wally snapped out of it.

for a moment i was very confused as to what you meant by "athiest" but i see - you meant "at least!" yes, i've been tentatively believing in Frank being a bit aware because of your stated reason, and also purely based on vibes and how he's been shown to be more, ah, cynical than the others. or... knowledge seeking? nosy but in a technical way. mild example is when he mused on how he's never seen a blue dog before in his bug audio w/ Barnaby.

and i do believe in the idea that everyone - or almost everyone knows somethings up, but they're not sure what / it's an easy feeling to ignore. like how i've talked about Howdy potentially knowing that he's selling props / inedible objects as food, but everyone can eat it anyway. so he's just like "fuck it yeah sure, i'll sell soap as mashed potatoes", yk? then of course in the Halloween update - which i know this ask was sent before it, apologies again - Sally knows there's somethin' the fuck up in the neighborhood at night. i wouldn't be surprised if everyone has a little Something they've noticed that bothers them deep down...

and Wally... honestly i'm starting to suspect that - again! If there's a time discrepancy between "official" audios and the secret ones or at least all audios vs his interactions with the whrp/qa/You - Wally in the official audios isn't quiiiite up to speed? like, he probably knows what he is and the like, but he's still figuring out everyone's places and the nature of his existence. like how in the Halloween "secret" audio 00, where he eats part of Barnaby's candy apple - it seemed like it took a great effort, like Wally was just trying it out. like a "i think i can do this... i'm trying..." it strikes me as a "new" thing for him there. he's not accustomed to it? idk... but whatever the case Wally certainly knows that he has to keep Secrets! can't tell the others about literally anything!

as for the interview - tbh i don't think Wally was quiet because he noticed that Barnaby was (potentially) just a person in a suit. several reasons! i have a feeling that Wally being Aware means that he understands, at least on some level, what a puppet is and the nature of it, so it wouldn't really disturb him? or maybe it would... apple pie and all... SO! another piece of reasoning! it's possible that Wally had no idea that that Barnaby "wasn't" Barnaby. After all, how could he tell?

personally, i think Wally was just quiet because, well, he's not much of a talker - at least not around Company it seems! in all of the audios where he's with other neighbors, he fades into the background and defers to them, only chiming in occasionally. and the Interview appears to be set in the early days of Welcome Home the tv show, so Wally would still be uh. for lack of a better word, fresh outta the box. if Barnaby starts talking, naturally Wally would sit back and let him lead. Wally takes a beat too long formulating a response and Barnaby barrels on - well what would Wally do? interrupt? that would be rude...

This one is also going to tie into the As Above, So Below phrase.

So it's made pretty clear that Wally has some kind of extra sentience and/or self awareness (because I do believe there is a difference) that the other characters don't, aside from Home. Tbh I feel like if he does, he got it from Home but I have no evidence for that... yet.

So what if, because the show is "lost" and forgotten, basically non existent- it doesn't exist in our plane of Being, so for Wally and the others they don't exist on their plane of Life? Meaning that if Wally does have some kind of extra sentience or self awareness, he's currently the only puppet active? The others are either basically dead, or stuck in some kind of perma-sleep. (Also the show ending at the end of the day, not being allowed outside at night which I feel implies night as the studio being closed for the day- so the studio being shut down would put the others in a weird perma-sleep)

What if Wally is the one behind the WHRP? I've seen this bit tossed around a little, given that we can see the actual Wally puppet hands in some photos, he interacts with people in the guestbook, and other various hidden bits of text and imagery across the News and FAQ pages. It seems as though Wally is the one writing, or he is using someone to write for him. So what if he, somehow through self awareness of some kind (my gut says demonic but alas, no evidence. Yet), reached into our plane of existence to try and bring the show back to a state of Being, so he and his friends could reenter a state of Life?

tl;dr I think Wally is trying to bring the show and his friends back from a weird purgatory state through any means necessary

hehehe human Wally gives me slight Howl vibes and I've been thinking of this for ages, so here it is!! tbh at this point it's practically becoming an au 😅 help me lmao (please click for better quality!)

It's pretty much the same as the original Howl's Moving Castle, just with character switches! However, there are a couple slight twists: - Instead of becoming an old woman, Rosemary becomes a puppet (Sage)! And since Sage's hair is pink, Rosemary's turns pink instead of white!! - The castle is alive, cause it's Home!! Sally acts as Calcifer and has Wally's heart, but Home requires the two of them to be able to power itself. - I haven't quite worked out who's who in this au yet, but I'm thinking either Julie or Frank will be Markel. If Frank is Markel, then Julie might be Sophie's sister or something. Not sure who the Witch of the Wastes is yet either, but if you guys have ideas, let me know!!

I plan on doing full drawings of them all in their outfits and stuff soon! I just had the ideas for these and needed to get them down somehow, and screenshot edits is what happened to work hehe -w-

I’m so glad you asked! Sorry for the absolute radio silence. I really did drop off.

WTHI was super fun to write and it was definitely my awakening to how much I LOVE writing horror.

I do have to admit that I was in a REALLY dark place during development. It was escapism 100% but there were definitely Things Happening In My Brain that got weaved into the story. (I won’t bore you with the details, but if someone had peeked into my head at the time and told me I was possessed, I would have believed them!)

And you know what? I’m good now!! I’m alive now!! So it’s hard to get back into the mindset of someone living with a critter in their brain. Every draft I make of chapter four just feels less authentic…?

I was going to follow the theme of Reader That Has Lost Their Zest For Life Merges With The Puppet World, but that just doesn’t seem so appealing to me anymore. I want to live.

Aside from that, I went to Uni! I’m just now finishing up freshman year! I didn’t have enough brain energy to really cook something up. Also, if I think too hard about a fic I want to write, I start feeling shameful for applying myself to something without many prospects haha!! The pressure to make something that matters paralyzes me.

On a lighter note I’m just not violently crushing on Wally as bad as I was before the chemicals in my brain settled. This is probably the most prominent reason. He was cool and mysterious before things hit the fan but now he’s just this weird little guy… this little kid fella… this single-celled organism… Like I felt my infatuation dying as soon as I heard his voice in a script. I was like Oh. That’s what he sounds like. (TBH I’ve been more inclined to Barnaby and Howdy and Eddie lately…)

Speaking of other characters, I kind of want to start writing for them too? No reader included, just pure character studies. I want to branch out. I thought of opening GENERAL writing requests involving just the neighbors, but I couldn’t imagine much interest and I wouldn’t want anyone to be left unanswered. I’m not very quick with writing. It might be better for me to come up with my own ideas anyway.

That said, I want you guys to have some closure? I’m very grateful for the support of so many kind people. I feel pretty bad for just Stopping, but I can’t quite follow my original vision.

TLDR: I haven’t completely cancelled the story but a lot of the feelings I started with have died. I also want to write less XReaders. More Welcome Home is on the way, but I can’t promise it’ll be a WTHI update. Indefinitely discontinued? That feels too heavy…

With Welcome Home becoming extremely popular and tons of aus being made like the opposite au, greyscale, etc. I just wanna pitch an idea I had because i can’t. I can’t really draw. Not good anyways,,

There’s the rainbow factory au, right? Well what if there was a Cupcakes au as well? But instead of our darling Wally, it’s Julie !! I think she’d fit more in pinkies role tbh. They’re both such silly little things. Like, imagine if Julie became self-aware instead of Wally, and the shock of her world being fake and her and their friends being puppets drove her mad. I haven’t thought out all the details for this idea but imagine Julie wearing a dress made of all the felt and stuffing of the cast-

I just thought it’d be interesting considering there’s not many aus featuring the rest of the cast in the spotlight other than Wally. If I get better at drawing maybe I’ll actually draw something for this !! Idk, just a thought 💭

K so I’m gonna do some welcome home theories based off the theory that this show was made to recruit people (mostly kids) into a cult which has its own proofs but now I’m gonna try to understand the cult more what are they? What do they stand for?

• in my theory this cult didn’t have a meetplace but everyone who watched the show joined it so like if they knew eachother they knew.. maybe they formed some groups in some places

• there seems to be a lot of themes of belonging and happiness and understanding the world (which is themes a lot of cults in the 70s had and in general) the show treated you as one of the neighbours and I think thats the thing that made the viewers of the show a cult

• the ones who made the cult are obviously the people who made the show but I think in some way the puppets at some point gained awerness too probably because witchcraft and dark magic were also involved plus they probably hypnotised the viewer in some way

• I think home was the one who gained consciousness first and is the one ruling the other puppets Wally seems to be kinda worship home and maybe kinda scared so I think home is the main bad guy here (tho there are hints in the website that it’s Wally so he’s probably not a saint either)

• the other puppets? I think theyr like other cult members tbh

Dude, I had a very different idea.... Imagine the reader together with Alastor (yes, from Hazbin Hotel) going to the welcome home world... Alastor teasing the reader in front of Wally and Wally trying to get attention... Or anything honestly I just want to see what happens

This made me giggle. It is a very different idea but tbh I love crossovers they make me giggle. Crack fics/ideas are literally the best, dude.

Honestly I’m not sure how I could turn this into a fic or headcanons so I’m just gonna hope you sent this in as a little ramble instead of as a request.

I think it would be really funny to see. It would be such a shell shock for someone from literal hell to go to the Welcome Home world, a children’s show with silly little puppets. It would be like TADC where every cuss word you said was censored irl. Also this would take place before…everything in Welcome Home falls apart.

Alastor would be an absolute menace…gotta keep HIS ass on a leash. Those poor puppets. 😭😭 But I don’t think he’d actually hurt anybody unprompted, surprisingly. He would still terrorize everyone, though. Wally would be unaffected I think. He’s pretty neutral about literally everything. Alastor could go full demon form and Wally would be like…👍 okay. Wally would latch onto you, though, I think. Especially if you’re an age regressor. He (unintentionally) tries to become your caregiver and it makes Alastor jealous.

Alastor and Wally would be beefing over who gets to take care of you except Wally wouldn’t actually be beefing he’d just be trying his best to take care of you and Alastor would be trying to embarrass him and out do him.
