Some thoughts below

I have thoughts about dark link that boil down to basically two things: 1. it's always the same dark link, and 2. dark link has a very difficult time changing.

No matter how many times dark link is brought into existence, he is formed from the shadow of link usually to test link's will. that shadow can be duplicated (as seen in HW) but generally speaking it's the same guy, sharing the thought space, you know how it is. In terms of sentience/thinking for himself, I don't think there's all that much of it. He is a dark reflection/shadow of link, so shares his abilities and thought patterns (for combat) with added aggression and. evil. i guess.

As said by navi, "conquer yourself", and all that. He's a challenge to the inner will power.

That being said!!! he can have a little bit of individuality, as a treat. Just in the form of being mean and sadistic <3 he's got thoughts, he's not just a combat doll (tho in times of low power, or a greater power having the reins, he reverts to that), so he can be frustrated, vindicated, happy, etc etc. though when your thoughts are mainly "evilevilevilevilevil" your idea of these emotions are a bit skewed.

When he's summoned for each different link, i hc that it's all the same magic, so the same dark link every time. he "remembers" in an abstract sense of his role in the same way a link or zelda "remembers" their own reincarnation. tho his is less of a reincarnation and more being used over and over again. a persistence.

The iteration that's summoned reflects the current link at the time, the part of link that needs testing/defeating, so it's not an existence that he himself can change to match the present. he's locked to that first copy/shadow only. So if he were to have a second encounter with an older link, he'd look like the first time they fought, unless he was specifically re-summoned. i hc he's got limited magic, so this is not something he can do himself.

in a links-meet scenario, his form would be limited to those specific forms of the links, and it would always be the points in time in which he first encountered them, unless there's other magic either he or someone else has access to to allow him to change forms to match.

now you might be saying at this point "wouldn't he be a weaker match if he was put up against an older link?" yeah probably lol. but also!!! i like the idea that with the limited magic he has, he's able to change juuuust enough to stay relatively evenly matched. being able to play to different strengths and all that. but the base stuff is still the same, so he is decently easy enough to read if link remembers the kind of stuff he was pulling back when he originally fought dark link.

dark link also knows about all this so while limited to the particular skillset, is able to adapt slightly.

but yeah been thinking a lot about a links-meet au where dark link is there choosing a different link to be every time he appears to the party.

though there are a couple links that he never impersonates in their games!!! so can't change into those guys unless he gets a new round of copycat magic.

THIS!! is exactly what Legend needed, this is exactly why these two were paired together!!

Legend needs an outlet, he needs someone that will return his banter and his harsh remarks against his brothers. He needs someone that will understand him. And who’s the one who can provide him that? Hyrule.

Hyrule doesn’t reprimand Legend, he doesn’t yell at him or think little of him he’s just there. He’s just there to explore the dungeon and have fun with Legend and that’s what he needed. If Legend was partnered up with anyone else it wouldn’t have played out like this. They would’ve gotten into an argument right in the beginning as Legend talked about Wars.

But that doesn’t happen here because he’s with Hyrule, who won’t take the bait but instead pursue the conversation on why Legend thinks this way about Warriors and Wild. Hyrule even starts the conversation about knights cause he knows it’s on Legend’s mind.

Hyrule knows his brother, and he knows what he needs in the moment. And i think this update perfectly shows how Hyrule is able to work around Legend and his abrasive attitude, this update shows how different Hyrule is from everyone in the way he treats Legend. He doesn’t hold him up on a high standard because that’s his brother but also his predecessor, he looks up to him sure but he knows that first and foremost Legend is his brother.

Time was able to see this as well, he knew what he was doing putting Legend and Hyrule together. Time is able to read everyone, hence why he put Sky and Twilight together after Wild confronted him. It’s why he put Hyrule and Legend together because he knew that Legend needed that outlet, Legend needs Hyrule because he’s the only one who understands him to an extent.

There’s less for Legend to be worried about as well because he knows that he doesn’t need to worry about Hyrule! Two peas in a pod! Hyrule is capable of himself as is Legend (another reason they were put together) so they’re able to roam around and be silly as much as they want cause they know how to be responsible when the time is right.

If you can’t tell this update really did a number on me, I just love downfall duo so much..

It is still very huh to me that some people don't realize that Jonathan in s4 is the most depressed we've ever seen him. Just because he has one friend in California doesn't mean he's happy by any means.

And part of why he's depressed is that despite what he says Joyce & Will need him less than ever. Joyce is working from home making a decent income and actually around (and most likely getting extra money from Owens look at the house) and Will is 15 and seemingly navigating HS pretty well.

So Jonathan, for the first time ever possibly doesn't have a role in the family. Or rather, his role has quickly shifted from parent/guardian to child. And he doesn't know what to do. He's adrift and he, as tragic as it sounds, does not know how to live for himself and what he wants. Which of COURSE is going to lead to depression and drowning that out with Weed and like his longing to go back to stay in Lenora and convince himself that eventually Joyce & Will are going to need him again which again of course they aren't.

The caption of this post is "vision after." that phrase is a reference to a vision you get of a future situation, or in this case, a "future life" as I interpret it, but also an insight, mirrors are often referenced as openings into the soul

First of all, the mirroring... I see that Ivan and Sua are framed with true mirrors. However, they are framed so that they all look right at us instead of how it would be correctly. Had Ivan and Sua been in the right position, they would've all been aligned (this feels especially like a frozen picture because Ivan's snaggletooth is on the correct side if he wasn't turned around, same thing with Sua if she was positioned in sync with her counterpart). They can face us and accept it. They always thought their deaths would be for the best in the end.

Till's version is more out of line, in other words, his mirror is incorrect. Unlike a true mirror, Till's mirror is concave and shows us his position flipped, he's misaligned with his counterpart but won't face us. This makes me believe his death wasn't honest, hence why it isn't as aligned and why he can't face us as Ivan and Sua can. Till isn't truly on the same wavelength as his counterpart because Till isn't fully there. yet?

I also interpret this as a way of establishing that Till, as a character, hasn't been fully honest yet, for example, his send-off post was narrated by his mother and not him. He won't look at or at all acknowledge us because he isn't ready. If he's dead, I see this lack of focus as a manifestation of his guilt. He wasn't truly willing to die in round 7, his end was forced onto him. If these mirrors are a way of looking into the future, Ivan and Sua can look and move on, accepting it with a bittersweet smile because they've already done all they need to, they can justify this means to an end. And they have no regrets over the way they died. Till regrets everything.

He can't look back at us because, in a way, he's still reflecting, if anything, he's mourning himself here as he stares at his counterpart, what would be his 'future'. But is unsure of whether to accept it or not. He didn't want to take this kind of defeat and move on in the first place after he found hope again (he will fight the demons and revive)

the thing about this is that it's very obvious Vivinos doesn't want us to know for sure whether Till is alive or dead for sure like Ivan and Sua have been quite established to be dead. He doesn't look like he fits in, but he's supposedly one of them, it feels very up in the air for me, at least.

I will of course be on Mel's side in the ensuing Medarda family power struggle, but if you think about it Mel really does look shady. The rest of her family hasn't seen her in over a decade, and that's because the official story is she was such a disappointment Ambessa exiled her. Fast-forward and not only is Ambessa dead after a period of serious decline for the Medardas to the point that Ambessa left for Piltover in search of aid (hextech), but the family doesn't even get to see the body. Mel hosted a funeral for one and gave Ambessa a burial at sea.

On top of all of that Mel's walking in like Ambessa actually named her heir to the clan, but as far as both we who read "Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf" and Mel who hasn't spoken to her mother in over 10 years know, no she didn't. To an outside observer it could easily look like Mel killed Ambessa and declared herself as the new matriarch, which ironically, is what a few members think Ambessa did to the previous patriarch (Menelik). It'd be a bit of the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but also, the tree made a lot of people nervous in the first and didn't like the idea that the tree (Ambessa) murdered it's grandpa (Menelik) either.

Shout out to a new Jinx and Mel parallel! The grief belongs to you and you alone. No one else gets to be at the funeral. Jinx never explained what went down with her and Silco, but Mel would actually have to have a story. I wonder if she'll reveal the Black Rose conspiracy.
