#photo diary#image 1 - pretty sky!.. so many sky photos as always#2 & 3 - baby son keeping me company during one of my Sickness days where I kind of just sit on the floor in a blanket#for hours slowly sipping pedialyte and having applesauce and such lol#He likes to bite the squeezy apple sauce pouches.. and try to steal the heating pad#4. Sky again. lighter more scattered fluffy clouds.#5 - greeting card that I drew at someone's request so they could send it to their elderly family member lol.. It's like.. cats baking#in a kitchen I guess? My eternal curse.. being the number one lover of cats in the world yet still somehow barely having a grasp#on their anatomy so they always look ridiculous when I draw them. I have both drawn and looked at cats for my entire life basically#yet somehow those two things do not come together to make me a good cat artist.. alas..#6 - underpart of an outfit I did (and havent yet posted of course because of my evil backlog of onemillion drafted posts)#I took the main dress off the top but thought the underneath part looked cool on it's own as well#7 - more sky.#8 - Mushroom fettucini alfredo. steak. and grilled asparagus. A fun little meal for me though I can't remember the occasion. I think maybe#as a reward for getting my covid booster or something. Though I still feel it's not as much of a reward when I am personally cooking#everything myself at home gjhbjh.. so its like... I'm having to do quite a lot of labor which makes it feel less relaxing I suppose. but eh#a treat in some form. Still cheaper by overall cost than ordering from a restaurant - and also can be customized and prepared#exactly how I like - which is the point. I guess more I just wish I weren't the only cooking person in the house. Everyone could#take turns making special meals for each other rather than like.. ''hmm I feel like having a treat. suppose I shall spend an hour#making it all myself and then feel tired whilst eating it'' lol.. ANYWAY#9 - and then.. you guessed it..MORE sky pictures!!! This time pinky bluey and so on.. huzzah..#A very sky heavy entry into the photo diaries I suppose#The sky in the 1st/7th image is jsut very ethereal seeming to me. something about the way the lighting is behind the clouds. It's#transportive. An interesting sky will make me feel like many other places in time or things I've seen in dreams or something. You get#a sense of being in a different world or like you're looking out over something you once imagined whilst reading a storybook. maybe lol

pretty minor thing to think about, but i find it interesting how chapter 7 is the first chapter illustration to show chizuutan as chizuru (instead of chuutan)
like, i get it’s a flashback chapter, but we hardly got to see her as chizuru in the previous few chapters thus far… maybe we’ll get to see more of her as her true self after the hiyori fight/make up? only future chapters may tell, i guess…

hello!
i'm sure you all have forgotten about me already which is totally valid, it's been complete radio silence over here for weeks. i just wanted to touchbase in case anyone was still waiting on the hook or curious about my whereabouts. i feel very weird about riize at the moment, specifically concerning seunghan and i wish that i could riize above, but it's really difficult. it's exhausting living in this fandom with zero answers and zero reassurance, to see him completely wiped from riize's existence like he was never there. it's one of several problems i have with the kpop industry, and it's grown increasingly difficult to ignore. i know that that has no bearing on the other members, but it's so hard to separate the two, you know?
so i'm not sure what i'm going to do with this blog. riize are not my ult although i love them dearly, and so maybe this is a time for me to pivot towards writing for the other groups i listen to. or maybe just hit the pause button until seunghan comes back (fingers crossed because that's ambitious, i know). i love the community on here and everyone's so lovely, but that's not really enough for me to keep moving, at least not right now. so, i guess this was a whole lot of nothing, but it's something to me! it's not a farewell, just an honest update about my feelings and headspace at the moment.
i haven't read fic my entire hiatus, and maybe i'll come back just to read for awhile! all of you are so talented and i've definitely missed that aspect, so there's that :) i'll give another update when i feel more concrete in everything, and thank you in advance for understanding

#fun story: in 2018 we went to interview ex-president jimmy carter#and I had a bit of an odd feeling in my throat#august 24 2018 i remember that date well#because that was the first signs of an illness that annihilated me#i blacked out for most of the month of september- i only have very sparse memories#i had a strange kind of pneumonia the doctor hadn't seen before#and over those 6-7 months they threw every single anti-anything they could at me#IDK if I slept so well because of the knockout effects of all the antibiotics and antivirals#or because I had a recurring fever and a chronic brutal cough for 6-7 months and was terribly weak by the end#but i was sleeping so deeply the more pills they added#and now i know i can function with a 102 fever on and off for months on end#everyone- family and coworkers- also made fun of me for insisting on wearing a mask but guess what bitches#when the pandemic rolled around i still had 2 unopened boxes from being sick a year before and those were worth more than toilet paper#lita#love in the air#prapai#sky#prapaisky#true facts: I don't remember writing one of my own fics#it was during the blackout month and i refuse to read it because i think it's funnier that i don't know what it's about#i also had to work- it was one of our biggest events that we do every 4 years#two weeks straight of 14 hour days with no weekends#and i was there every single day#i have no memory whatsoever and when we did the event again in 2022 the organizers kept saying 'oh wow you're alive!'#i like to say i had the BEST time because it's a tedious af event and everyone is surly by the end#but from MY pov i was trapped in dense fog and couldn't breathe; trapped in that twilight feeling when you're neither awake nor unconscious#and then when it passed I had a nice paycheck in my account without any of the mental strain of working for it#watch

#the moon on a rainy night#amayo no tsuki#volume 6#translation mine#spoiler discussion:#i was disappointed in this volume for kinda abandoning that plotline after this#given how the last volume ended i thought they'd resolve it and we'd get mb 1-2 more books to conclude the series#but on top of that it introduced a whole new character in the last chapter so i guess kuzushiro's setting up for the long haul#which i have mixed feelings about. like aniyome (same author) works as a long haul because grief takes that long#whereas this is fluffier and the longer it goes the more the disability theme gets diluted#ill still read volume 7 exactly on release day just like i did for volume 6 tho lmao

question for the fanfic readers (and writers) who are out here working full time jobs:
how/when do you make time to read/write fanfics?
my tendency to read fanfics late at night will not be such a good idea when i’m out of school and working in the real world, when i can’t just say fuck it and show up with only a few hours of sleep.
#sincerely someone who will be working an internship where i’ll be starting at 7:30 every morning#which means i’ll be waking up around 6 every day#and therefore cannot stay up until midnight reading fanfics like i’ve been doing a lot#but i still need my silly little fanfics to get through the day#and i would like the reassurance that that is still possible even when working full time#and like realistically i know i can carve out time in my day to read fanfics but like nighttime is me time#and therefore fanfic time. which is a bad habit to have really#my sleep schedule is so fucked up#oh and also while taking care of household stuff like cleaning/cooking/laundry. forgot to mention that bit#i’m also worried that if i start reading a fanfic in the morning i just won’t get anything done that day bcuz i’ll want to just read said#fanfic…that has happened before. multiple times. so it’s a valid concern#fanfics#ao3#archive of our own#fanfic#fanfiction#fandom#reinanova rambles

so wait, since i was just reminded of the recorder thing donna talked about in the giggle, i now have a question for uk ppl: do yall learn the recorder in school? like in a music class? and like how much do yall have music class over there?
#this is a very interesting topic for me as a music educator from the us#ik a guy from ireland and he said there was no music class in schools for him and like not the same country BUT same island#(as northern ireland. not the others in the uk but still)#and its so wild and fascinating music education is a fascinating field and the way we do it in the us seems to be largely vvv unique to us#for clarification on how things are different so ppl have a better idea on how to answer my question lol:#in the us music class is standard in elementary schools and most places have general music until abt 5th/6th grade (year 6/7)#(general music = basics- music games learn recorder SOME notation-reading; often classroom instruments eg boomwhackers claves maracas#orff instruments if you're lucky/from a school district that isnt poor. also some world music)#its less standardized after that and not every school will have music after middle school but concert bands and choirs are both huge here#choirs start right on the heels of general music classes (sometimes start earlier + students elect to be in choir instead of general music)#bands USUALLY start in 4th grade (year 5) but sometimes can be later 5th/6th (year 6/7) or even 7th (year 8) (WAY less common)#depends on the state generally 4th is most common i think (choirs start at around the same time i think so probs 4th but choir isnt my area#orchestras are weird bc theyre a lot less common but can commonly start younger bc of one of the big approaches to music ed (suzuki method)#so like maybe 3rd grade (year 4) maybe 4th w/ band (year 5) but i have a friend who teaches at a private school#& said they have 1st/2nd graders (year 2/3)!! orchestra is also not my area though#also marching bands: vv common! usually just in hs (starting 9th grade / year 10) bc it supports the football team at games#but starting in 8th grade (year 9) is also common (sometimes even 7th / year 8)#theres two different styles: collegiate/show band and competition. former is very rah rah pop music etc; competition is more abstract#show bands are clearly designed to entertain whereas competition is designed to be more impressive and tell a story#so more impact moments abstract shapes/lines on the field and has movements - opener ballad closer (fast-slow-fast)

re-reading kinou nani tabeta is so hard, i always get the urge to drop everything and start production on an hour long video essay explaining how yoshinaga fumi learned to write romantic love by writing for nanitabe and how that inadvertently influenced the progression of shiro and kenji's relationship, not to mention shiro himself coming to discover the depth of affection he had for kenji in vol 7 and how that enabled him to open up and change to become a much more happy and content person

The eyes and lips are definitely consistently my favorite part of Jojo's art styles. Very pretty. I always really like the detailed shots where you can see them in full quality.
There has always been a particular allure to me with the way faces are drawn in Jojo- especially the manga. It gives it a very serene and delicate feeling which is interesting for a fighting series. I'd even say this about parts 1-3 to an extent despite everyone being hulkish and otherwise hyper-masculine.

I haven’t watched this show in a billion years but my brain kind of deletes house the show after broken 1 and 2 and just assumes house has a semi good life after that
