So much of Garak as a person starts to make sense once you know his childhood was a fucking gothic novel. His main playground was a graveyard and he'd play pretend by perfoming improv eulogies to an imagined audience. For a long time his main touchstone for most important figures from recent history is 'oh yeah I know about that guy my dad buried him. great flower arrangements for that one'. He finds out later his 'parents' are actually a brother and sister who had to get married to avoid the utter shame and social devastation of having a child born out of wedlock, and they live in the basement of his biological father's house. (the madwoman in the attic vs. the tiny elim in the basement.) His biological father calls himself his uncle and locks him in a closet whenever he fails to live up to his insane and unpredictable expectations and everyone just has to act like that's normal and expected, and his will hangs over everything at all times, unseen but always felt keener than anything else. The father who actually raised him grows the world's most beautiful (and as it turns out, most poisonous) orchids and keeps the mask of a god hidden in a box in his work shed. Everyone in the house is choking down secrets like it's the only air they know how to breathe anymore.
What I'm saying is that right from the get-go this guy never had the faintest shot at turning out normal, so I'm glad that by middle age he's found a way to get a bit silly with it as he continues to be deeply deeply not normal about anything ever <3

thoughts about the Cardassian writing system
I've thinking about the Cardassian script as shown on screen and in beta canon and such and like. Is it just me or would it be very difficult to write by hand?? Like.
I traced some of this image for a recent drawing I did and like. The varying line thicknesses?? The little rectangular holes?? It's not at all intuitive to write by hand. Even if you imagine, like, a different writing implement—I suppose a chisel-tip pen would work better—it still seems like it wasn't meant to be handwritten. Which has a few possible explanations.
Like, maybe it's just a fancy font for computers, and handwritten text looks a little different. Times New Roman isn't very easily written by hand either, right? Maybe the line thickness differences are just decorative, and it's totally possible to convey the same orthographic information with the two line thicknesses of a chisel-tip pen, or with no variation in line thickness at all.
A more interesting explanation, though, and the one I thought of first, is that this writing system was never designed to be handwritten. This is a writing system developed in Cardassia's digital age. Maybe the original Cardassian script didn’t digitize well, so they invented a new one specifically for digital use? Like, when they invented coding, they realized that their writing system didn’t work very well for that purpose. I know next to nothing about coding, but I cannot imagine doing it using Chinese characters. So maybe they came up with a new writing system that worked well for that purpose, and when computer use became widespread, they stuck with it.
Or maybe the script was invented for political reasons! Maybe Cardassia was already fairly technologically advanced when the Cardassian Union was formed, and, to reinforce a cohesive national identity, they developed a new standardized national writing system. Like, y'know, the First Emperor of Qin standardizing hanzi when he unified China, or that Korean king inventing hangul. Except that at this point in Cardassian history, all official records were digital and typing was a lot more common than handwriting, so the new script was designed to be typed and not written. Of course, this reform would be slower to reach the more rural parts of Cardassia, and even in a technologically advanced society, there are people who don't have access to that technology. But I imagine the government would be big on infrastructure and education, and would make sure all good Cardassian citizens become literate. And old regional scripts would stop being taught in schools and be phased out of digital use and all the kids would grow up learning the digital script.
Which is good for the totalitarian government! Imagine you can only write digitally. On computers. That the government can monitor. If you, like, write a physical letter and send it to someone, then it's possible for the contents to stay totally private. But if you send an email, it can be very easily intercepted. Especially if the government is controlling which computers can be manufactured and sold, and what software is in widespread use, etc.
AND. Historical documents are now only readable for scholars. Remember that Korean king that invented hangul? Before him, Korea used to use Chinese characters too. And don't get me wrong, hangul is a genius writing system! It fits the Korean language so much better than Chinese characters did! It increased literacy at incredible rates! But by switching writing systems, they broke that historical link. The average literate Chinese person can read texts that are thousands of years old. The average literate Korean person can't. They'd have to specifically study that field, learn a whole new writing system. So with the new generation of Cardassian youths unable to read historical texts, it's much easier for the government to revise history. The primary source documents are in a script that most people can't read. You just trust the translation they teach you in school. In ASIT it's literally a crucial plot point that the Cardassian government revised history! Wouldn't it make it soooo much easier for them if only very few people can actually read the historical accounts of what happened.
I guess I am thinking of this like Chinese characters. Like, all the different Chinese "dialects" being written with hanzi, even though otherwise they could barely be considered the same language. And even non-Sinitic languages that historically adopted hanzi, like Japanese and Korean and Vietnamese. Which worked because hanzi is a logography—it encodes meaning, not sound, so the same word in different languages can be written the same. It didn’t work well! Nowadays, Japanese has made significant modifications and Korean has invented a new writing system entirely and Vietnamese has adapted a different foreign writing system, because while hanzi could write their languages, it didn’t do a very good job at it. But the Cardassian government probably cares more about assimilation and national unity than making things easier for speakers of minority languages. So, Cardassia used to have different cultures with different languages, like the Hebitians, and maybe instead of the Union forcing everyone to start speaking the same language, they just made everyone use the same writing system. Though that does seem less likely than them enforcing a standard language like the Federation does. Maybe they enforce a standard language, and invent the new writing system to increase literacy for people who are newly learning it.
And I can imagine it being a kind of purely digital language for some people? Like if you’re living on a colonized planet lightyears away from Cardassia Prime and you never have to speak Cardassian, but your computer’s interface is in Cardassian and if you go online then everyone there uses Cardassian. Like people irl who participate in the anglophone internet but don’t really use English in person because they don’t live in an anglophone country. Except if English were a logographic writing system that you could use to write your own language. And you can’t handwrite it, if for whatever reason you wanted to. Almost a similar idea to a liturgical language? Like, it’s only used in specific contexts and not really in daily life. In daily life you’d still speak your own language, and maybe even handwrite it when needed. I think old writing systems would survive even closer to the imperial core (does it make sense to call it that?), though the government would discourage it. I imagine there’d be a revival movement after the Fire, not only because of the cultural shift away from the old totalitarian Cardassia, but because people realize the importance of having a written communication system that doesn’t rely on everyone having a padd and electricity and wifi.
#if I read over this again I will inevitably want to change and add things so I'm refraining from doing that. enjoy whatever this is#forgive my very crude recounting of chinese and korean history! I am neither a historian nor a linguist#but I will NOT apologize for talking abt china so much. that's my culture and I'm weird abt it bc of my family history#and it's my GOD GIVEN RIGHT to project what little I know abt it onto all my worldbuilding#also I've never actually read abt any of the various cardassian conlangs but I'm curious if this contradicts or coincides with any of them#I still want to make my own someday. starting college as a linguistics major (in 2 weeks!!) so presumably I will learn how to do that#narcissus's echoes#ds9#asit#star trek#cardassians#cardassian meta#a stitch in time#hebitians#lingposting

“Under the influence”— Chuuya Nakahara
“Normally, Chuuya wouldn't be this needy. But whenever he drinks and becomes drunk, he's a whole 'nother person. A person, who's begging you to fuck him.
Tags: sub! Chuuya Nakahara / gn! Reader, drunk sex (CONSENTED!!), grinding, overstimulation? (Chuuya), pet names, praising kink, Reader may be more male, pegging/anal? (since Chuuya's getting fucked, read it as an strap or dick, idrc atp), idk what I'm doing I'm STRESSED, short, pw/op, might contain grammar errors, etc.
Notes: I'm so sorry for leaving you guys to wait, you see, school has recently started and we're already having tests and stuff, so i might be slower than i wanted to be and will be keeping things short, i will also try catch up. SO ENOUGH CHIT CHAT AND ENJOYYYY!!
The only sounds filling up the bedroom were his moans, Chuuya's. He's grinding against your crotch as we speak, pathetic whimpers leaving his throat. You only observed him as he got himself off on you, with an smirk on your face, of course. Yes, you were turned on by this, but not enough to actually cum by it. Chuuya was already gripping onto your shoulders, seeking his climax asit was approaching soon. “Fuckfuckfuck.”, he chanted quietly, hoping you didn't hear him. You eventually did and could tellthat he was getting close. “Are you getting close, dear?”, you asked nicely, gently stroking his hair.
Chuuya almost nodded instantly, his hips picking up the speed. God, it was so cute seeing him like this, really. Before you could even react, Chuuya came inside his pants, panting heavily. He just rested in your arms for a few seconds before deciding that he needed more, more as in you inside him. “What, you want more?”, you asked him after he stared at you drunkly, only nodding as an response. “Well, if you want it, then you could atleast ask nicely.”, “Please,”, Chuuya already started, looking at you desperately. “I want you, baby, please?”, a pouty tone is his voice appeared. You looked at him before smirking again. “Alright, strip then.”, Chuuya nodded one last time before getting ready to take you.
You got yourself naked and already put on some lube, Chuuya was already laying down on the bed waiting for your first move. You slowly start to enter his hole, the moans and whimpers already leaving his lips. Fully in, you waited for him to adjust to the side. Trying to get Chuuya to loosen up, you bent down a little and started to lightly lick his nipples. Still a little stiff, you continued licking but took in the whole nipple, done with the first one, you repeat the same with the other. If he wasn't a moaning mess then, then he's probably one now.
When Chuuya gave you the go, you slowly start thrusting into him, trying to be gentle with at first. “You're alright, sweetheart?”, you asked to make sure, “. . Yeah.”, he just muttered, already in a lot of pleasure. It did feel good, with all the moaning and skin slapping filling the room, Chuuya was getting close again, you couldn't blame him though, it was probably the alcohol. You pulled him closer by slightly lifting his leg a little, thrusting deeper into his ass. “Such a good boy for me,”, you cooed sweetly, only hitting harsher against his prostate. “Wanna cum again, baby?”, you asked Chuuya, already knowing the answer. “Yes, please, s–shit.”, Chuuya whined as he came a second time soon after, you followed after a few more minutes.
“— F–fuck, this was so good.”
Why do i hate this more than myself. Anyways, i tried—

i think ds9 fans should be legally obligated to read ASIT before they talk about garak. its so weird to me that so many fans characterize him by the words he literally says when thats like, the thing the show outright tells you not to do. people will write him as depraved or cruel or a mindless caricature of a patriot. people will also forget cardassia is literally structured like a cult. it follows extremely strict rules detailing everything about ones life, and breaking those rules results in severe punishment or even death. it worships a higher idea and everyone must set aside everything else for full submission to it. your means are always justified if its for the state. and there are cardassians who speak out and try to dismantle this! but due to the way cardassia is structured (with people not being allowed to choose their jobs) its not high ranking officials or agents its jobs cardassia doesnt value and thus doesnt keep a chokehold on. garak didnt choose to become a member of the order he was forced to. he isnt like dukat, hedonistic and delusiouned. hes a little kid beaten up bloody on a daily basis because he made a slight mistake. hes a little kid hiding the pet he named after his mom because if anybody finds it theyll kill it. hes a little kid who has to fight to prove himself as worthy because hes seen as worthless due to his heritage. hes a little kid standing in the hot dessert sun for hours until he literally starts hallucinating to show to his peers that he is good enough. when hes pretty much forced into therapy he doesnt understand that what happened to him is wrong despite literally having panic attacks due to traumatic memories from his childhood (post traumatic stress disorder yk). he had to abuse substances to stand living because it was unimaginable to him to ask for very acessible accomodations. his love for cardassia isnt the shallow bullshit our conservatives peddle. his father (tain never was one) was a pagan following the belief of indigenous cardassians. he had the chance to live a life of comfort but he gave it all up to choke on dust and smoke and drag bodies out of rubble with no food or water or shelter. he chose to help his people and his land even though it meant giving up everything. he isn't hedonistic or cruel hes a cult survivor healing and redefining his entire worldview. julian isnt a silly little guy with a spy fetish he sees garak for who he is. dont do my favorite middle aged lizard like that

…I’m starting this post with another long sigh. I don’t know what I can say that hasn’t been said already so I guess I’ll just say it louder. I. Do. Not. Authorize. My. Stories. In part or in whole…to be posted elsewhere, translated without permission, or otherwise shared to random little sites. A Stitch in Time especially has gotten more popular than I ever imagined, and to some degree that’s nice, but I’m still finding it (still!!!) uploaded to other places I’ve never even heard of or made an account. That should not be happening, guys. I have the right to have my feelings on this respected. If they’re not maybe something more drastic needs to happen, but I am hanging on to this fandom by a tether hoping to complete this work, and this is beyond frustrating and disrespectful.
How can you be a reader too shy to comment or actively engage with a work but you’re not too shy to lift it wholesale and repost??? And I don’t care if you put on the site that it’s not yours or that it can also be read and found elsewhere or share the link to the original—the people you’re providing it to on those sites aren’t going to stop and do that?? Why would they?! You provide it to them on another site for free! I’ve asked for this to stop. So stop. I found ASiT, among several places, on a fucking “free” academic site (screenshots below) most recently to put out unpublished scholarly works outside of journals and who even knows what the fuck it’s doing there. I’m a doctoral student and I feel a special way that someone, quite possibly, could be uploading PDFs of this story with the intent of somehow??? Again not sure how, passing it off as academia? What. In. The. Fresh. Hell. I don’t want to provide my personal information (such as my full name, home address, phone number and everything else) to some shady little site to prove the story is mine in order to submit a DMCA, I want this to stop happening so I don’t have to.
#this is what gives me trust issues#seriously guys wtf#a stitch in time#woes of a writer#whoo haven’t had to use that tag in a while#unauthorized reposting#potential plagiarism#apparently the academia site is known to be shady#swell

Left Hand of Destiny (1&2) stream of consciousness review
Overall thoughts: I really liked this book! Or technically 2 books but the second is just the continuation of the first so in my head it was just one long book (~500 pages all in all). This is only the second trek book I've read and also the second written by the actor who played the character in ds9 (shoutout to ASIT, though this one has a non-actor co-writer as well), but even beyond the star trekking of TLHOD, this was a really good read in terms of writing style, pace, emotion. It was very action and character focused which I enjoyed, and especially the characterization of Martok was so great and obviously JG Hertzler had a lot of thoughts about the character he played that translated really well on page.
The memory alpha article on TLHOD says this but I didn't really start to see it until the last half of book 2, but this is very much a King Arthur story (btw don't look at that memory alpha page unless you don't care about major spoilers lol). Down to a lady in the lake handing out mythical swords. That instance was a little heavy handed in my opinion, but I did like all of the prophetic dreams and talk of glorious purpose.
That's something to note though: if you don't like dream sequences, this is not the book for you. There are A LOT of dreams. In fact the opening scene is a dream, but it's now my new favorite opening line in a book because it jumps right in by telling you who this guy is and what his deal is:
I personally am a big fan of overt symbolism like this (even a well done cliché or two), myths and repeating cycles of heroism etc etc. And I think this book melded Arthurian drama with Klingon drama well. The Klingon-ness of this book was great. What better way to get to the heart of Klingon culture in a story but by focusing on the guy chosen to lead his people and getting it ripped out from beneath his feet and having to decide that he actually wants to be chancellor. In a lot of ways this is a story of outcasts finding their way back to where they belong, which isn't always what they expect or want in the beginning. Which leads me to...
The supporting characters really made this book. Without Pharh the Ferengi who got bullied for being as ugly as a Klingon as a child and now runs a landfill on Qo'noS, there would be no book. He's my favorite (little buddy coded to the extreme) but most of the major side characters are really well explored in terms of motivation and actions. Worf, Sirella, Ezri, Darok, Kahless, Alexander, to name a few. Alexander and Kahless were two of my other surprise standouts. And because no one who hasn't read this book knows about my new favorite guy Pharh, I will now include a couple passages I highlighted to spread the word about how great he is:
Wide array of well developed side characters aside, this book is awful for women. Yes the main antagonist is Martok's insane ex, but her character is kind of too outlandish to really have much depth. Ezri shows up at the end of book 1 and plays a big part in book 2 but honestly I'm not sure why she was even there (apart from loyalty etc, but I mean story-wise she didn't add all that much to keep the action moving ((anyone else could have been subbed in for her 9 out of 10 times and it would've made more sense tbh)) except to be another explainer of Klingon things to the reader). Sirella has a few great scenes, but not nearly enough and she wasn't allowed to do much either in terms of agency and impact on plot. Martok's two daughters are barely afterthoughts.
The main plot is that a usurper attacks Qo'noS (and specifically goes after Martok), swaying the Klingon people to their side through a combo of bioengineered charisma and the people's growing resentment toward progressive ideas that Martok (and Worf) represents. That's really only the problem in book 1, while book 2 deals more with Martok accepting the hand fate has dealt and deciding to win so they can save the decaying Klingon heart and so on. But even with the kind of cheesy setup, it rarely felt overwrought or unearned with the emotional beats. The antagonist lady is, yeah, she's a bit over the top. And before 2016 I would've said the quick flip to xenophobia and Make Klingons Great Again (I'm pretty sure they use that phrase almost exactly) in the general public was unrealistic but hey, cycles of destiny and evil constantly shifting and repeating, am I right??
There were... quite a few deaths. I guess I should've expected that, being a Klingon setting and all, but some of them hit me hard. And a few I don't think really needed to happen and kind of weakened the narrative.... maybe I'll put a spoiler section below a cut at the bottom of this to discuss those 🤪
This paragraph will haunt me for a while I think... 😀 sorry for inflicting it on others now but hey that's show business
Even with some hiccups (see spoiler section below), I loved the book pretty much. Shocker: tumblr user girlmartok loves the Martok book, but it was better than I had hoped even. The Martok focus was so good and the side characters just made it even better. Much more of a heroic fantasy than most star trek settings, which fit really well and also was refreshing. It's long! But I would recommend it if you have any interest in Klingons and/or fun little guys who go on adventures and think a lot about death.
SPOILERS ⬇️
Okay ripping the bandaid off. The way Sirella died was not chill. I mean even having her die was not something I would have included, because the story really didn't dive all that deep into her and Martok's relationship. But ramming an enemy ship so Martok could flee near the beginning of book 2... and she doesn't even kill any major bad guys doing it?? It just served no point narratively (the bad guys still outnumbered them, still caught up to them not long after) and it didn't even really affect Martok all that much beyond like one paragraph where he wants to turn around and go on a murder spree in her name... He doesn't even get to go on a murder spree in her name!!!
Bandaid rip #2: PHARH MY LITTLE BABY BOY DIES???? I was glad I had forewarning about this one because I would've been mad otherwise. I am not exaggerating saying he was my second favorite character in this book after Martok. The humor he added, yes, but also just his role as an outsider who's seen as weak by both Ferengi and Klingon, and he befriends the chancellor of the Klingon Empire, HOLDS ONTO THE CHANCELLOR'S RING FOR MOST OF THE BOOK AND BECOMES HIS SQUIRE BASICALLY 🫠💔 I don't know how anyone wouldn't fall in love with him. At least his death was done well, even though I don't think it should have happened. He at least got a murderous rampage in his name 😤 and Martok basically adopted him so he could get into Sto'vo'kor 🥺
Those were my main two criticisms of the book, and really ties into why this wasn't as great a story as ASIT, for example. A lot of things happen to Martok, but some things don't get the resolution they would need to influence him on this character journey he's going on. One of Martok's defining characteristics in ds9 is that he's a wife guy and his wife doesn't take bullshit. But then his wife dies suddenly and he's upset but he's not Upset upset, if you know what I mean. It didn't feel earned and it didn't feel necessary. Literally the first and only time it did feel like a reasonable plot device was at the very end when Worf tells him that people love a tragic victor even more than a victory. The problem is just that Martok doesn't ever explore what that tragedy really means to him.
Justice for Shen and Lazhna, Martok's daughters, who in addition to dying off screen are only brought up to highlight how shitty of a dad Martok has been. He just thinks of them (and his son Drex too but he gets more characterization solely by virtue of appearing in the narrative) in terms of himself and his love for them is more on the side of pity rather than real emotional attachment. Sirella should've been way meaner to him about that tbh.
Non character death related but a big focus of the first book was Martok losing public opinion pretty much immediately. Old friends turn against him and that really shakes him. But then in the second book... that's not really brought up again? The whole second book takes place away from Qo'noS, and yeah they mention that people will probably become less affected by the dumb bioengineered charisma after time, but I cannot stress enough how much the entire planet hated him. So he won the big battle against his foes etc etc, came back to Qo'noS and... just told everyone all that?? That goes along with the lack of fully exploring the consequences of some of these bad things that happen to Martok. It felt like a little too much piled on him and not enough resolution.

twenty questions for fic writers
I was tagged by the mighty @commander-krios! Thanks for the tag, I love stuff like this.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
44 published works
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 158,186
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Dragon Age, Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate primarily
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
What you Deserve (Dragon Age Inquisiton, PWP Blackwall/Cadash)
Against the Wall (Dragon Age Inquisition, PWP Samson/Trevelyan)
Control (Baldur's Gate 3, Durgetash)
Six Times the Warden Loved the Herald of Andraste, and One Time a Fugitive Called Thom Loved a Carta Thug (Dragon Age Inquisition, Blackwall/Cadash)
Let me have this dance (and you) (Baldur's Gate 3, my one Wyllach fic!)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I always try to!
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
God, I always end up in the angst. I'd say probably the one I'm going to post soon is going to top it, but Asit Tal-eb; the way things are meant to be, which is about Sten and Brosca, is pretty sad.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The First Leaf on the Tree after Winter. It's an emotional journey but a happy end!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not directly on the fics. I used to get some stuff on discords etc.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, I used to! I haven't in a while and have been trying to get back into it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not for me!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, sort of! My most popular fic got rewritten beat for beat replacing a dwarf with an elf. I thought I was imagining it but other people picked it up.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, that would be very cool
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Never! I'd love to try with a few people!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
That I've written? Probably Brosca/Sten. To read I think Adoribull. What a ship, I've just never been happy with my work writing them.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Dacw 'Ngariad, my Sollavellan fic. Started strong and went nowhere because I got SO intimidated by being in a popular pairing, lmao.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Character voice, style of prose, stuff which is short and high-concept.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
ACCESSIBILITY. What I would give to write in a more accessible way generally. I sometime tell too much and show too little. I am impatient with connecting scenes, so things can feel a bit heavy. Fluff. I always make things too sad.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I would only use a fictional language I think.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First ever was Final Fantasy 7. It was Tifa/Aerith but I didn't even realise that at the time lmao. Why WAS Tifa so sad about this woman? Girl it was GAY.
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
Ohhh I think probably The Ever After, which is Thom Rainier making more mistakes on his path to redemption, post DAI, pre trespasser. I think it's really strong but it never really found an audience.
Tagging: @smoreofbabylon @senseandaccountability @thievinghippo @rowanisawriter @persephoning and anybody else who fancies it!

4. What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?
Writing. Hiking. Binge watching shows. Talking with friends. Having any semblance of a normal life. She misses it all so much. Maybe it was better this way, though. At least now she can keep it at bay. Maybe she was always meant to just be a dam? To protect everyone else? So did any of that other stuff ever even matter? She never did finish reading that book.
5. Can they cry on command? If so, what do they think about to make it happen?
Oh ABSOLUTELY, and she uses it for evil all the time. I feel like she'd have a rotating mental gallery of sad cat images she imagines to get it started and then it's hard to stop actually
35. What is the smallest, morally questionable choice they’ve made?
She seems like the type of person to try shoplifting one (1) candy bar, just to see if she can, and then immediately burst into tears and told the store clerk what she'd done. Of course now she's killed people but at the time that was the biggest crime she'd ever really committed and she felt guilty about it for years
53. Who would / do they believe without question?
They were never really your friends. If they were, they wouldn't have let this happen to you. If they cared at all they would be here by now to try to save you, but no. They're at home, cozy in their beds while you're out here. Cold. Starving. Afraid. But not alone. No, never alone. Not anymore.
Asit.

I don't like anything ASMR but I do agree with the soothing tones of Andy Robinson saying "My dear doctor".
If he can read his book off an ipad so can you.
I will also remind y'all that I have a second hard copy of ASIT (in beautiful condition), the collection with the follow up, and the rest of Uma McCormack's first run novels and the Section 31 Gashir ones to part with at a reasonable rate (must take all, about 10 books in total) but now it has to wait until after our move because aside from ASIT they're all in storage right now.
The second copy of ASIT along with my copy will be placed in a plastic storage tub padded by clothing. One of the ways I cope with how shitty things were in 2021 is to tell myself if the greedy cosuins heard I had not one but two books worth $$$ in my storage unit they would have been running to help me move so they could steal them. I also would have lied and said it was the NKOTB comics and everything depended on their condition and completeness. Or like that 1000 page Birth of The Modern book.
It's two weeks to go until the move and I am actively working on no longer saying Trust is just a song on the Wish album because aside from the receipt for the holding deposit and general 'welcome to the complex' stuff we haven't really heard anything. Being they aren't a toddler or a pet one must assume no news is good news.
As for anyone out there who wishes they had some sort of tic or OCD disorder for clout do not neglect the thought loop parts that want to remind you that you aren't save and snug in your bed, you're actually still in the worst situation you've ever been in your recent life and it's all out of your control and the only way out you can see is giving yourself to Azrael unless things change.
It takes inner strength to remind yourself that things did change, sense took over, and you are snug in your own bed half a country away from those people and never ever have to go there or see or deal with them again.
This move can't possibly be like the last one. We have a place to go, we have a date for when our rent starts.
We have a near by dog park and spotted a borzoi across the street from it.
So one of these days when I feel the need to get out and my walking has improved enough, or I have a scooty bike, I will be able to go to the dog park and hang out and pet dogs while being on the look out for the borzoi. Then I will pet the borzoi.
On the creative side I'm pondering trying to get a draft of my Gashir and a baby story going or rework the Tain one I just came up with earlier this month. I'm also feeling the pull to read my Hollywood story and see if anything comes from that. There's a scene that needs to happen where one character finds out another they have a crush on has a ___ and has to deal with it because everyone knows what happened the last time that character encountered a ___.

Roshan Bhabhi, after Babri, this Gokuldham actress made a hateful complaint against Asit Modi!
Priya Ahuja on Asit Modi: The ruckus that started on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma is far from over. After Jennifer Mistry who played the role of Roshan Bhabhi in the show, now Tarak Mehta's Rita Reporter aka Priya Ahuja has also made a shocking revelation. Priya Ahuja has made several serious allegations against Asit Modi, the producer of Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma in her release. In such a situation, Tarak Mehta's Mahila Morcha is becoming quite strong against Asit Modi. After Jennifer, Priya Ahuja is angry with Asit Modi After Monica Bhadoria aka Bauri against the makers of Roshan Sodhi aka Jennifer, Producer Asit Modi and Tarak Mehta Ke Ulta Chashma, now Rita Reporter has also opened up. Rita also made serious allegations against reporter Asif Modi and the makers. While others Jennifer and Monica were already saying that Asit Modi does not treat people well on the sets, Priya Ahuja reiterated the same. Priya Ahuja told surprising information about Asit Modi Priya Ahuja, who played the role of reporter Rita in the Tarak Mehta starrer, recently made a shocking revelation in her interview. Priya Ahuja said, Those people abused me on the sets. He said - those people gave me mental pain. Although it is a different matter that my husband was a part of the show, due to which the makers could not throw me out of the show. But the work culture that was there had a lot of misbehavior. Priya Ahuja kicked out of the show without informing This time Priya Ahuja also said that my track was reduced when I married Malv. After the pregnancy, I had no idea about my track. After that, when Malv left the show, I messaged Asit Bhai several times – I want to come back… but he ignored my message. The attitude I have seen from the manufacturers in the 6-8 years there seems to be that they will not call me again. He also said – I see what Tarak Mehta says about the cast makers is true. I am asking for work, so you are not answering me. He's not paying respect. You didn't call me on the show since 9 months because your relationship with Malv ended. When he left the show, you got me out of the show like a fly. Women are discriminated against on set Tell me, Priya Ahuja said about the producer's make-up and demeanor on the sets that there is male dominance. Mandar said this about Jennifer… I really liked it, because Jennifer and Mandar were very good friends. This time Priya Ahuja was also seen speaking in support of Jennifer. He said Jennifer never abused anyone or crossed any boundaries. A very easy-going and laid-back person, Jennifer was the one who brought food for everyone on set. They used to sit and eat together. He used to talk to everyone on the set. Although they don't know anything about the way Jennifer is talking about sexual harassment. We tell you that Priya Ahuja, who played the role of Rita the reporter in Tarak Mehta, has been missing from the show for a long time. No other face has replaced him on the show. Really crazy yet somehow balancing that where Garak kept being pulled and thrown around in his life (like being betrayed in Bemarren, being taken out of school before becoming the top of his class, denied Paladine, then being passed for Obsidian Order leadership and instead sent to exile) Pythas in the end (having been given all those things instead) is the one we really pity, because in the end Pythas has little left, while Garak is given so much after all his losses and trials.
Garak and Pythas are like two sides of a coin, but the coin doesn’t land heads or tails, instead it sits on it’s edge. Both are left with a planet to rebuild and wounds to care for, yet it honestly feels like Garak got his decent good ending with a home to rebuild and a partner (Parmak, Julian too if the writers would give us what everyone wants/wanted). Pythas on the other hand has a nice ending at best and he still has Garak too.
#I have yet to read the sequel to A Stitch in Time so forgive me for whatever error I. this thinking#this was supposed to be a short little thing but I started to really think#Pythas lok#asit

Honestly I just don’t think I like JLA’s writing style. Like you’re telling me half of the time, not showing me. Shit gets boring and this new book, ASITE, was just like FBAS. What was the point of reading it? There characters are too alike. Surprise me. Idk and her male characters are too perfect? idk how to explain the feeling but It’s just not believable
#asite#fbas#jennifer l armentrout#sad#fbas started out good but I feel like now I’m just reading to know the end#just for that

Casteel Theory
Update: I'm reading ASITE and I'm starting to get suspicious about Casteel’s heritage (either that or the author is forgetting her own logic). ASITE says that a godling (Poppy who was the product of a mortal turned demigod and God and who lacks fangs) can only survive the Culling if they have a God assist. Casteel does so by offering his blood when he tries to ascend her. ASITE says that a godling then only needs to feed periodically from a God or mortal after the culling which leads us to the boat scene in TCOGB when Casteel offers his blood and Poppy says she should be concerned why she took it so willingly and alludes she’ll find out why later. (I’m aware Poppy is a God by right of her Primal heritage, I’m saying it sounds anatomically like she is a Godling since she lacks fangs and feeds sporadically).
Then ASITE says that a God can be killed by a shadowstone dagger to the heart or to the brain. Poppy stabs Casteel in FBAA and he doesn’t die, he is only paralyzed. ASITE says that a God stabbed in the heart with a shadowstone dagger is killed but a Primal is only paralyzed. He also can compel others, an indicator he has eather. This makes me think that Casteel’s abilities have less to do with him being an elemental bloodline of atlantians made by deities and a God himself with primal ancestory? Which would explain why isbeth says she is going to return the realm to its glory or whatever she says. Something is up!! Thoughts?? Am I confusing logic and plot points? Sorry if someone else has already pointed this out.

tbh i stan much harder for pythas lok than for any other ajr ocs, like… he was on the right track there and then got on the palandine bullshit
#she doesn't..... feel like a real person.....#straight people will be straight people i guess#trek talk#barkan lokar was also pretty good. a bit too Cartoon Villain at the start but their stuff at bamarren was pretty entertaining#* i meant at the end whoops#but rlly when i read asit i was doing the equivalent of the dating sim thing where you know who u want to end up with and ur pressing the bu#ttons for them continually#but then the one you start doing this with (julian) turns out not to be a programmable love interest he's just like a red herring#so you start doing it for pythas lok instead and then end up Alone because the game has collapsed beneath your hands and you live in a world#of berman-sanctioned lies
