Recently saw a post about how Jason wouldn’t be gratified to learn how Bruce self destructed after he died like many fics show him to be. But that he would be angry and horrified, because Bruce turned into someone who beats up petty criminals way more severely than deserved who probably turned to a life of crime because they had no other options, like Jason himself did as a kid.

This take as is I am fine with, I think a Jason who is horrified by Bruce’s behavior at this time is a totally valid interpretation. Bruce absolutely became a worse person after Jason died.

However the post put it like Bruce was doing it on purpose for Jason. As if it’s what Bruce thought Jason would have wanted from him and that this was a vast misunderstanding by Bruce of Jason. And not like. Complete loss of control and spiraling emotionally until he cared about nothing including hurting other people and just wanted to die. Which I definitely do disagree with.

And I don’t think Jason would be happy to learn this exactly. But if he thought Bruce didn’t care about him at all because nothing changed after his death and Bruce just went on living like Jason didn’t matter - this would absolutely be proof to him that he was wrong and Bruce did care about him and everything changed, actually.

Like Bruce self destructing was certainly not a good thing. Not what Jason wanted. But what Jason did want was for Bruce to kill the joker. He wanted his dad to commit murder to prove his love. And like there’s nuance to this I’m not gonna go into but I think Jason realizing how badly Bruce “crashed out” as the kids say, would go a long way to convincing him that a Bruce who refuses to kill the Joker can still be a Bruce that loves him, and that these things aren’t mutually exclusive.

reading the final part of @mikoworks comic “always there” and it’s making me Realize things. i always wondered why anya decides to tell jimmy about the pregnancy. if she’s seen what kind of man he is, why would she ever put herself at risk by telling him?

it’s because curly is failing her. but she knows she can get his attention by setting jimmy off. to make him a “real” threat that even curly can’t ignore. anya wanted jimmy to lash out, or to at least get aggressive. then curly would actually have to do something about him. an immediate action instead of hesitating even longer. unfortunately none of them could’ve predicted how extreme jimmy’s reaction would be

you know what really pisses me off? so many people acting like he is the worst person out there and no one will miss him. A LOT of people are grieving now and missing him including people that these people supposedly follow and care about. liam was not the supervillain people wanted him to be. he was messed up and did messed up things likely because of what happened to him. this conversation deserves so much more nuance than people are giving it. and maybe it’s too early to have this conversation now but it’s helping me process and grieve so i’m really writing this for me. people are complex and doing bad things doesn’t make you a bad person or someone worthy of death without being given the chance to make things right. and another thing, it is SO hypocritical to make fun of him and look down on him like he’s the ultimate Bad Guy meanwhile i bet every single person you have ever admired in the spotlight has likely also done bad things or at least things you wouldn’t be proud of. fame is an illness and it can cause people to harm others because they were hurt themselves. human beings are a culmination of everything that they’ve been through and everything they’ve done. he is not only the bad things he’s done and it’s okay and normal to grieve him as a whole person, because he was one.
