The unmatched level of UNHINGED that is that part of The Mirror and the Light, where somehow it's Master Cromwell who has to hear about Jane's weird wedding night, and she totally trolls them all with that "he wants me to do unnatural things that won't get me a child" and her brothers FLEE the scene and then she's like "he wants me to go to visit fortifications down south" and you are not sure if that's code for something or literal request for her to go visit the fortifications like he's always asking Cromwell to do...

is it possible that the phrase "by way of" is used differently in american english? i always thought it meant the same as "via"

e.g., "i came from paris by way of london"

i would interpret this as [paris -> london -> here] i.e., "i travelled through london on my way from paris to here"

but i keep seeing examples where it's meant to describe the opposite

i.e., [london -> paris -> here]

and it's usually american speakers, so im wondering if it's just used that way over there

Been going through some older posts and I'm trying to decide which was my funniest anon. Was it:

The anon who told me to delete a 600k rewrite of BBC Merlin/Arthurian literature because they decided, based on the title, that it was exploiting gay people (much more recent than the others, but still a classic)

The anon who spammed my inbox with multiple messages over a period of months to rant about what an obsessive, friendless loser I was and how no one liked me (I mean, they would know what that looks like, right?)

I did it last night. It took a couple hours (far less time than the PJO ships). Most of the fics and ships haven't been updated since like 2021.

Still debating if I wanna add them to the top 100 ships list or not. Only a couple of them made the list. Like four I think? Hmm. Maybe I should make a poll.

I am very boggled because - as being both writer AND reader and having a fairly decent sized tumblr/discord/ao3 community of fellow writers and/or readers (and having made, as anarchycox has said, some awesome life long friends from the doing) that is NOT a commonly held opinion.
