One thing that really is nuts with taking adhd meds, at least the ones I'm on, is how much it absolutely kills my appetite. Not in a bad way, I'm shedding weight like crazy. in all seriousness, this was a downright gorgeous series. the story never lost its grip on me (i’ve not read the novel, so i went in with zero ideas of what to expect) and i thought the art style was absolutely gorgeous, i’m just mad that real clothes don’t look like that because i now desire that aesthetic carnally

the cast was full of phenomenally interesting characters, though albert... oh, albert... you dumb bitch GOD i can’t lie, there were times when he was so incredibly frustrating that i just wanted to pick him up by the ankles and shake him upside down like there’s Dumb Twink Energy and then there’s whatever the hell albert had going on here

also franz oh my god franz my beloved honey we need to get you a better taste in men babygirl you deserved the world absolute same goes for eugenie and basically all the kids like albert’s problem was he was dumb as fuck and literally everyone else’s problem is they were unfortunately morosexual

so since i haven’t read the novel i don’t know what the actual count of monte cristo was like but this one gaslit, gatekept, and girlbossed his way through the whole story and i for one was ENCHANTED i will now accept no count of monte cristo except the biblically accurate count of monte cristo depicted here

there were times when the socialite drama just wasn’t for me, mostly earlier on in the series, but overall i was completely captivated especially in the final episodes where everything that was set up paid off

suffice it to say this one’s going to be sticking with me for a while

I keep thinking about the illusive Ms. Villareal, right? And I'm like, it's easy to say Jacques did it. But I don't think I want to go that route. Instead I'm thinking of different ways to go about it and my mind keeps going, "Max unintentionally led to his mom's death and Jacques had to cover it up."

There's a scene in a film The Florida Project where the unsupervised children go into an abandoned house and light a pillow on fire, the fire spreads. I'm thinking when Max was five or six he did something like this and not even out of any malice, he was just ignorantly playing in all the wrong ways.

So the estate goes up in flames and Mrs. Villareal perishes. Of course this isn't a good look for Jacques, who was already rumored to be connected to the criminal underworld and Jacques doesn't want his little son to be stigmatized or in the media for his action, so he took the fall, took all the rumors.

I don't even think Jacques let Max get therapy out of his own paranoia, he simply thought moving on would be better and never talking about it. This results in Max's destructive, violent behavior. [Even if Max has been a bit of a weakling in my game...but this lil boy is toxic, regardless]

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
