by no means do i regret cutting off my dad but. sometimes i remember experiences with him that are so novel i wouldnt ever replace them. specifically i am thinking about how he’d play this country song sometimes that i have no idea how he found about gay interracial cowboys in love. i never asked him about it. i think about it often
#kibumblabs#chorus was like ‘interracial cowboyyy homo kinda love’ or something like that#my dad’s music taste was like. the most unpredictable thing on earth. in the most autistic way possible. it’s so hard to explain#and I still have no idea how he came across 90% of the music he’d listen to#I know when most people think of listening to music Autistically they think of an extremely predictable music taste where you listen to one#thing/band/genre/etc on repeat for however long and nothing else#but. the thing is. my dad didn’t NOT do that. his music taste was weird as hell and all over the place but it came in waves where he’d#listen to solely the same few songs or same artist or whatever for a few weeks and then eventually his focus would switch to something else#and he’d only listen to THAT for a few weeks and so on and so on. sometimes old stuff would come up again in a wave as well and#yeah you get it. occasionally he’d REALLY like a song and then he’d legit play it over and over again#specifically thinking of one time he got like. obsessed with moon river (the breakfast at tiffanys version I think?) and would play it#quite literally on a continuous loop on the house living room/kitchen speaker system and i think I was doing homework at the kitchen table#(wasn’t allowed to do it in my room cause my parents didn’t trust me) and was like. uh. dad. this is getting kind of annoying#and now that I think about it. I don’t think he stopped. at least not because of Me. i don’t remember when he stopped or if I just went#upstairs eventually if I finished my work. but yeah good god is my father autistic. he may not want to admit it but im pretty sure he knows#he is at least to SOME degree (my mother is a psychologist. i don’t think he could avoid it being pointed out at least a few times)#(he’s just prideful and stubborn and likes thinking that’s just the way he is and it’s not Pathological or blah blah blah idk. he knows.)#anywho. on the topic of things my dad would do that in hindsight ive realized are Very Autistic of him- he’d get annoyed sometimes if I sang#along to songs he’d play in the car because he wanted to ‘actually hear the song’ and yes first of all: dickish thing to say to a kid. but#the fact he didn’t realize that + now putting together that it probably had to do with having two sounds overtop one another in a#possibly irritating way… yeah. sounds like an autism thing. which I guess is kinda redeeming cause it means he wasn’t just being a TOTAL#asshole. still an asshole nonetheless but at least I sort of get it and get the feeling#cant blame him for having Autism Moments. can blame him for avoiding diagnosis or at least acknowledgement of it and never even remotely#attempting to keep his more maladaptive behaviors in check

(Part 2) Part 1 - Why Are You so Mean? - Rafe Cameron x Fem!Reader
summary: in which y/n walks in on rafe looking a little to intimate with his girl best friend
warnings: cursing, girl bestie, mention of drugs and drinking, toxic behavior
genre: angst
word count: 1k
-> outerbanks masterlist
✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒
the party music blared across the beach house. to be frank, y/n wasn't big into the party scene. she loved parties: the ones where you danced until your feet gave out, the ones where you sang your heart out to a song by kesha, and the ones where it was all about smiles and singing. not these parties: where everyone judged one another, where everyone couldn't talk without slurring their words, where everyone needed a drink, and where people upstairs were snorting lines of cocaine.
y/n was out on the balcony, looking at the beach. a beach like this, and people still just wanted to snort coke in a beach house. lame, she thought. but she was here too.
she remembered when she first met her boyfriend; rafe cameron. it was karaoke night at a local beach party. y/n and her best friend were up and they were singing "22" by the one and only, taylor swift. it was just a fun song in a fun night with fun people. y/n recalled how her hair had gotten screwed up from all the dancing she did, how her make up had all been lost, and how she smelled of seawater and vanilla perfume. she'd heard all about rafe; how he was bad news. ironically, she was singing "you look like bad news, i gotta have you" right when she made eye-contact with the snarky blonde. he winked at her and she smiled back. after that song, they took a long walk across the beach, and soon after they talked a little more, they began dating. it'd been six months now.
snapping out of her daze, y/n decided to go upstairs and rejoin rafe. she'd left, wanting to get away from the strong smell of alcohol and cocaine that tainted the house. as she opened the door to the room she'd left a few minutes earlier, she felt a punch in her gut.
there was rafe, sitting on the couch. his arm was around another girl next to him. her brown hair draped over her shoulder as rafe used his other hand to toy with her locks. sofia. his best friend, of course. y/n hadn't liked her since the minute they'd met and she'd made some sly remarks.
"you're rafe's girlfriend?" she laughed in front of you. "rebound?" she mouthed.
bitch y/n thought, recalling the memory.
topper, kelce, rafe, and sofia laughed, like y/n wasn't even there.
"rafe? no lines today?" topper laughed.
"nah, sof's convinced me to get clean." he said.
i always tell you to get clean y/n thought.
"sorry for interrupting guys. i'm just going to be leaving now." y/n finally said. "by the way, you two make a really cute couple." she fake smiled, her entire dialogue painted with obvious sarcasm and anger.
"y/n-" rafe said, moving from sofia and make his way towards her.
"no i get it. that y/n girl is such a bitch, right? she's always on your ass about getting clean and other bullshit. i wouldn't want anything to do with her either." y/n continued.
"i didn't say that-"
sofia rolled her eyes.
"have fun gentlemen." y/n smiled. "and uh, whatever you are."
y/n walked out of the house, rafe calling after her.
✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒
y/n stormed off to the beach. it looked beautiful in the dark. the waves crashing against the shore and the salty breeze. she took a seat on the cold sand.
she'd told rafe so many times to get clean; that it was bad for him and it was stupid. did he listen no? but leave it to sofia to say it, and he's all ears. she'd always wanted to watch dirty dancing with rafe, but did he every make the time for it? no. but did he watch the movie a week later with sofia. yes. she'd asked rafe to sing with her at karaoke night, did he? no. but as soon as y/n went to the bathroom and came back, he was singing "you belong with me" with sofia.
her train of thought was interrupted when she heard rafe calling. she blinked the tears away.
"y/n! what the hell, i've been looking all over for you!"
"you started looking for me when you couldn't occupy yourself with sofia anymore." y/n spat back. "you didn't give a single fuck about where i was. you never do, especially when sofia's there."
"that's not true-"
"karaoke night? dirty dancing? rafe, i've told you a thousand times to get clean, but you listen when sofia tells you!"
he sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
"i'm sorry sweetheart, we've just been friends-"
y/n pushed his arm off of her.
"you've been friends with her forever. i've heard the excuse a thousand fucking times."
she could see the annoyance in his eyes.
"what, you annoyed? would you be annoyed if i was sofia?"
he took a deep breath and looked at the sea. of course the mention of sofia bothered him.
"i don't remember you being this fucking annoying when we met."
"why are you so mean?" she asked, voice breaking.
"no, no, no, don't go crying now. you started this."
"you just called me 'fucking annoying.' of course i'm going to cry. and you did this by climbing all over another girl."
from a distance, y/n heard someone calling out for rafe. it was that bitch, it just had to be her. "rafe! c'mon, you're missing out. topper and kelce are so fucked up right now, it's hilarious!"
she waved to him, stopping about 20 feet away. he waved back. he looked at y/n as they both got up.
she knew he wanted to leave.
"you can go." y/n said. "but if you do so, we're over."
"what the fuck y/n! that isn't fair."
"i've got this sneaking feeling: that i'm worth half than whatever she is to you. and if you, you'll confirm what i feel like i already know." y/n spoke softly, turning to meet his blue eyes.
"whatever." he scoffed, getting up and reuniting with sofia.
he glared at y/n as he embraced sofia. y/n walked past them both, tears spilling from her eyes as soon as she'd passed them.
why was he so mean?

Night Moves- Dean Winchester.
Pairing: Dean Winchester x gn!reader
Warnings: mentions of eating, established relationship, based on the song “night moves” by Bob Sager
Author’s note: this is a reupload, I wrote this a while ago!
Reblogs & comments are greatly appreciated<3
You sat in the passenger seat of the impala humming along to the song on the radio, you hadn't heard it in a while so you forgot how much you liked it. You mindlessly stared off into the dark trees on the almost abandoned highway, remembering the first time you ever heard this song.
You were abruptly brought out of your daydream when the song changed which was weird because there were at least 2 minutes left.
"Hey, I was listening to that" you said turning your attention to your boyfriend in the driver seat.
"Really?" Dean questioned "Why?"
"Because I like the song, Bob Sager is a legend." You replied
"Yeah obviously, but out of all songs, 'night moves' is your favorite?" He said with a light chuckle, lowering the volume of 'ramble on' that replaced Sager.
"Yes, actually it is" you were ready to defend this song with your life "Is that a problem?" You incited
This was a common occurrence throughout the course of your relationship, you never argued about anything serious but when it came to music all cards are on the table. There were just certain things about music you couldn't agree on, sometimes the bickering would go on for days before you two would eventually kiss and make up.
You knew this song was different though, but he didn't. He didn't know the significance of this song but you were going to change that before this went too far, it already continued into the diner where you two were having your weekly date night.
By now the whole conversation has become about how Led Zeppelin is unappreciated, somehow all music conversations lead to Led Zeppelin. You waited for Dean to finish his second piece of pie so you'd know you'll have his full attention.
"Do you really not know why I like the song so much?" You questioned hoping maybe he'd remember. He shook his head no, you sighed. "The night you first said you loved me, it was playing in the background" You explained
Dean's eyes went wider than you'd ever seen, all the memories of that night flooded his brain, the bar, the smell, the atmosphere, what he was wearing, what you were wearing, he remembered it all so how did he forget this one detail?
"That's right!" he shouted grabbing the attention of the only other customer and the waitress, "some drunk guy yelled out 'this is my jam!' across the bar right before I said it. I'm so sorry, I completely forgot" there was regret in his voice but fondness in his eyes. That was the best night of Dean's life.
"Now you can see why I like it so much, it reminds me of us." You smiled at him
He smiled back, "Yeah, still a shit song" he shrugged then dodged the balled-up napkin you threw at him.
-
Eventually, you both started making your way back to the Impala, you walked out of the diner hand in hand. Right before you made it to the car you heard it…
"Workin' on our night moves, trying to lose the awkward teenage blues" Dean sang under his breath. You immediately stopped in your tracks, causing him to do the same. He sighed before looking over at you, he knew he wasn't going to hear the end of this.
You raised your eyebrows at him, a big grin slapped across your face
"Shut up" he rolled his eye, a smile pulling at his lips
You smiled, leaned over and pecked his cheek, then whispered in his ear "I don't think I will."

When I Grow Up
This is for the Steddie Holiday Drabble Popup Event. @steddieholidaydrabbles
Rating: G; WC:726
Steve double checked his pockets while he waited for Eddie and Amelia. It was a big day for the new family. Amelia was graduating kindergarten and she needed to be spectacular. She wanted them all to wear matching outfits, and she wanted to wear her hair the same way her papa did. So, naturally Eddie was a blubbering mess all week.
His disposable cameras were secured and he called up to the two divas. “Time to go or we’ll be late!”
“Coming!” Eddie yelled back wetly. Steve grabbed an extra pack of travel tissues and shoved them in his pocket. He loved his cry baby husband. Speak of the devil, he glanced over his shoulder to watch him come down the steps, and had to suppress a giggle. Eddie was carrying Amelia down with him and both of them were wearing the same thing as Steve: a black button down with dark gray jeans and a pink bow tie. She’d developed a love of dark colors recently, but she still loved her pink. But what got Steve the most, was the hair.
The two of them were sporting matching double dutch braids with plastic roses weaved in. There was an absurd amount of glitter in both their hair and a crazy amount of hair clips. It was obvious that they worked as a team, with Eddie doing the braids and Amelia the accessories. “Dad! You need glitter too!” Amelia shouted. He sighed and knelt down for her to sprinkle his hair with the glitter. “Now we all match!” She jumped out of Eddie’s arms and ran through the garage door and into the car. Steve and Eddie shared a kiss before they followed her.
~~~
They were sitting with the other parents of the kindergartners as they sang their end of year song. They even did a bit of sign language to go along with it. Next was the section where all the kids said what they wanted to be when they grew up.
There were Astronauts, fire fighters, singers, and one very ambitious kid who wanted to be a mermaid scientist. Whether that was studying mermaids or inventing them, Eddie couldn’t tell. But finally it was Amelia’s turn. Eddie took a deep breath, trying his best to stay dry eyed. Steve already handed him a bundle of tissues but he was determined not to use them. That all went out the window the second his little girl spoke.
“Amelia Munson, what do you want to be when you grow up?” Her teacher asked. She smiled and looked at her dads.
“I want to grow up to be a tattoo artist like my papa.” She said. Eddie’s hands flew to his mouth as he gasped. He looked at Steve out of the corner of his eye and saw him pulling out some more tissues before handing them over without a word. He grabbed them gratefully and dabbed at his eyes.
Steve smiled fondly and wrapped his arm around Eddie as he blubbered. The parents around them awed and a few of their parent friends glanced at the pair. Funnily enough, even though Eddie looked like a scary dog, all the parents knew he was a big cry baby when it came to Amelia.
Thinking back to her first day, Eddie remembered how he had cried harder than any of the moms that were there with their kids as the class made their way inside. Steve had to practically drag him away and he made him park across the street for over an hour until they left, “just in case she gets too sad and wants to come home, Steve.” Eddie explained.
If Amelia was sick, he was the one to come pick her up. Not because Steve didn’t care, but it was a lot easier for Eddie to drop everything since he owned the studio he tattooed in. A high school guidance counselor couldn’t exactly drop everything at a moment’s notice.
He knew they had a special bond, the two had a similar background and early childhood. But he never expected their bond to be so special she’d want to grow up to be just like him. The thought filled his heart to bursting.
He looked at Steve and whispered “we really need to get her a cat.” Steve rolled his eyes fondly.
“The puppy wasn’t enough?”
Fortune
word count: 800 (exactly) warnings: corny, extreme attempts to mention every single svt title track genre: fluff, drunken confession (but by seungkwan), getting-together
"Good fortune", answered Mingyu, as he looked directly into your eyes. You flushed a deep red and were about to divert the attention away from you when a loud groan startled you.
"Isn't this as good as a confession?" slurred Seungkwan, clearly drunk and filter-less.
"Seungkwan-ah, shut up!" hissed Jeonghan, but he wouldn't relent.
"Y/n, I need to get this off my chest today or my head will explode!" he screamed into your face.
"Wh-what is this about?" you asked hesitantly.
"Y/n don't believe a word he says," pleaded Mingyu and made sure to include those puppy eyes, which were always like a sucker-punch to your gut.
"He loves you Y/n! Mingyu fucking adores you! He thinks you're the prettiest person he's ever seen and the first time you approached him, he did a wholeass cheerleading routine while screaming how happy he was!! It was all very nice but after befriending you, he was like "My heart goes boomboom as soon as I lay my eyes on her oh my what do I do!!" And he said this every single day!
Mingyu had leaped across the table in an attempt to cover Seungkwan's mouth, but you were quicker in getting both yourself and Seungkwan out of the way just in time.
"Y/n??" Mingyu asked in disbelief as he dusted himself off and got up from the ground.
"Nooo! I wanna hear moree!" you squeaked and Seungkwan launched into yet another monologue.
"When he heard you had a boyfriend, we asked him to cry it out and forget about you, but he was like "I don't wanna cry and I don't want to forget her!".
Seokmin chimed in this time, "You might remember this. That time your boyfriend didn't come to watch your solo dance performance and you were sad? And Mingyu had clapped and screamed the loudest despite it being a little too silent in the auditorium?"
"Oh yeah! I thanked him but then he froze up and ran away! I wondered if he had a fear of talking to girls or something lol", you supplied.
"Y/n…", Mingyu whined and weakly hit your shoulder. You flashed him a smile and gestured to Seungkwan and Seokmin to continue.
"And then when he scored that home run during the finals, he kept looking left and right to see if you were in the stands and watching him. But to his shock and surprise, there you were on the ground, head cheerleader and cheering for him the loudest! Boy was ready to love you from that moment!" said Seokmin while patting Mingyu's head.
"Oh! I have a confession about this", you said shyly. "I actually applied to be a cheerleader to cheer for Mingyu from the field rather than from the bleachers. It was a stroke of luck that I became head cheerleader and got to go onto the field with Mingyu, the baseball captain" you said and covered your face with your hands.
"F*ck my life why didn't I know this?" shrieked your friend Jennifer from the corner.
"Anyway, after that, he wrote a song called "Rock With You" and sang it at the college festival where he was sure you understood that the song was definitely for you. Had you?", asked Seungkwan accusatorily.
"Of course I did! I didn't know he could write songs and stuff and he looked so hot with that electric guitar so yeah, I got it, thank you very much", you claimed haughtily.
Mingyu snickered and came closer to you and casually put a hand around your shoulder.
"Even I didn't know I could do that until I decided it was about my feelings for you and it just flowed from there. I should really thank the god of music for putting that song into my brain and composing the melody through me like a super maestro", Mingyu said to you as your friends made gagging noises.
"Anyway," tried saying Seungkwan, when Mingyu interrupted him.
"I'll take it from here thanks," he said and turned to you.
"I really do adore you as you must already know from these anecdotes. And I want to show you exactly how much because I think of you as my whole world. I want my days to begin with you and my nights to end with you. So, will you please do me the honour of becoming my girlfriend Y/n?"
"I feel the same about you Mingyu. And I don't think I can speak beautiful words like you do so I hope this is enough to convey what I have to say", you say and move to kiss him.
As he reciprocates your loving kiss with a fervour he had never felt before, Mingyu muses to himself, 'Now this is what I call good fortune'.
Tickle Me Review
Faced with bankruptcy Allied Artists made a short term deal with Elvis in a last ditch effort to save the studio. The terms were that Elvis would be paid $750k plus 50% of the profits. Tickle Me only had a budget of $1.5 million meaning Elvis' salary alone took up half the cost leaving only $750k for everything else. Therefore to save money, the soundtrack only had 5 measly songs (in the original US release) that were previously recorded across the years 1960-1963.
Despite the studio's financial woes the movie was a box office success making $5 million worldwide. It not only saved the studio, but was also the studio's 3rd highest grossing film at the time. Elvis himself won the 1966 Golden Laurel award for Best Male Performance in a Musical. Writers Elwood Ullman and Edward Bernds' effort proved to be their last hurrah as Bernds would retire later that year after a successful career with the 3 Stooges and the Bowery Boys. But did this last ditch effort provide a fresh take on the Elvis vehicle or was this nothing more than a Hail Mary for those trying to hold onto any semblance of success and relevance? Let's find out.
We start off with Elvis in a travel bus singing "(It's A) Long, Lonely Highway". No idea if this was filmed on location or not. Song sounds pretty good. Lip-synching seems to be on point. I'll just mention this here but Tickle Me is a terrible title. I have no idea where they came up with that or why the working title "Isle of Paradise" was changed. There's no song with that name since no new songs were recorded. They should've stuck with the working title or better yet, change it to a song on the soundtrack called "Night Rider". That title fits in with Lonnie's occupation as a traveling rodeo star, the western setting, and the eventual shift into a horror film better.
He arrives at a western town called Zuni Wells. We get what's at first side conversation with a deputy sheriff saying that the sheriff went fishing far away (remember this later). We find out that his name's Lonnie Beale and is trying to find work before rodeo starts. Even though Lonnie got offered a job, the man ended up quitting. I love how we get some world building by having the bartender mention Prescott, Arizona which is one of the most famous rodeo cities in the US. So to make any money he has to sing in the saloon.
"It Feels So Right" is distracting with how obvious it is that Elvis sang this a long time ago. The song’s echo effect is so noticeable too but we do have a Red cameo and a call back to when Elvis was a "dirty hip shaker". Red's girlfriend who is drunk starts flirting with Lonnie and for once a fight starts that wasn't even his fault. He didn’t flirt with her back or throw the first punch. If anything he was trying to make a point that he had no interest in her.
Assuming he’s about to get fired he goes with a woman in charge of the Circle Z ranch. We get some background that Lonnie was raised by his uncle and always had a good time with horses. If only we saw him actually put that to good use instead of just exposition.
Lonnie's shocked to see that this is meant to be a Hollywood type of ranch meant to keep actresses and models thin. Watching how this is portrayed, you can make an argument that there's some social commentary in this movie. When you first meet Pam you wouldn't even notice a difference between her and the other women. It would be one thing if they showed these ladies as being slightly overweight, but that isn't the case at all since all of these ladies have an average body weight and general size indicating good health. It really shows how in their industry, expectations are so specific that these women who are already at a healthy state have to be even smaller and fitter to be beautiful.
Lonnie meets Pam while the women are stretching and I'm amazed they're even allowed in that part of the ranch. In modern day, men likely wouldn't even allowed to work at a place like that unless they're in a position that doesn't have close contact with the female guests. Lonnie then meets Stanley who tells us that the guests have to pay $500 a week just to stay there. The whole process of how these girls get down to "36-38-24" by giving them very little to eat really shows the culture of the 1960s where starving people was seen as the best way to lose weight. I won't get into the complexities of it, but you can see for yourself that the "diet culture" of today has completely shifted.
Lonnie does his job despite getting advances by some of the female clients. He starts making eyes with Pam and you get the idea that they're interested in each other. He goes over to talk to her but she makes it clear that she's only interested in taking care of the guests. only to then immediately get jealous when the guests show interest in him. I don't like this because you don't get to feel jealous when you turned him down. It only makes Pam look bad as a character since this makes her come off as being possessive of Lonnie when they're not at all a couple. Lonnie is single so he should be allowed to interact with other women.
If she's upset because she takes Lonnie singing to the guests as unprofessional, I can understand that. However, her facial expressions don't indicate that all. "(Such an) Easy Question" at least gives you that context that despite Pam turning him down, she can't stand to see him being with other women. As for the song itself, I don’t like the echo effect for the middle of the sandy outdoors. I know that they didn't have the budget to really change the pre-recorded songs, but given that this is supposed to be outside, an echo effect doesn't really work. Brad meanwhile turns into a butt monkey by having his food dumped on him once Stanley stands up. I genuinely feel bad for him because even though he is jealous of Lonnie, he so far hasn't done anything that would deserve this level of punishment.
Even the next day he can't catch a break as a woman he tries to help learn to swim, laps the pool when she sees Lonnie. He gets so upset he hits his hand against the concrete border of the pool. We get "Dirty, Dirty Feeling" as he works in the stables. Once again it doesn’t match the outdoor scenery. It’s actually very distracting to hear a 50s sound coming out of a 60s Elvis. If anything I'm very confused on how he's able to sing so that the entire ranch can hear him. It's not clear just how big or small this place is since it shouldn't seem possible that his voice can carry that far at that same level of clarity.
Lonnie gets in trouble with the other workers because the guests are so distracted by him. Lonnie isn’t doing anything wrong though as he doesn’t intend to interrupt everything. Meanwhile I'm very distracted by how this painting in the background was allowed to stay up since it's clearly a bunch of nude women. I have no idea how no one noticed that since it appears in multiple shots where you can clearly see the whole thing uncovered.
The women all seem to love him despite the fact that he doesn’t seem interested in any of them beyond a professional relationship. As he should since he doesn’t plan on sticking around and it’d be unprofessional of him otherwise. Pam meanwhile goes on this long spiel about how she's figured him out as being this playboy looking for a "millionaire divorcee" and quite frankly she's unlikeable. Lonnie in the audience's eyes hasn't done anything to suggest that and it's unfair of her to think that.
Even when she tries to catch him in a "gotcha" moment, it just feels weird of her to do this. She's not his boss nor his girlfriend, so it's not her job to police his actions. The audience clearly sees that Lonnie isn't the one making these advances and because this is the 60s men aren't allowed to say no yet. It makes you wonder what on earth Pam's doing with her life when she should be working. She makes an innuendo that Vera would "give him an A for effort" and you just feel a little gross because she's making it off like this is his fault. Sexy sax music playing when Vera makes her advances on Lonnie also feels gross given the concept of a workplace relationship between a boss and their employee has become a very problematic issue given the unequal power dynamics that come from it.
We get actual tension with a fight scene that in real life would’ve been genuinely dangerous. Lonnie had full reason to help her when she screamed even though we get a comedic moment of Pam hitting Lonnie by accident. The attacker immediately runs away as Lonnie's knocked silly. We find out it was because the guy was trying to find where her grandfather hid some money and the deputy sheriff advises her to lock all her doors and windows. It's not at all suspicious for the deputy sheriff to blame her for poking around abandoned buildings when she says she's entitled to any money that he left behind. I have no idea how this is such a mystery in their part of the world given that this is a ranch and a small town. The list of suspects shouldn't be astronomically high for anyone to not be able to figure this out. It's almost as if we're not supposed to know who did it until it's the perfect moment or something.
The next day, some men watch Stanley trying to look for footprints only to realize they're his own. Classic Shemp Howard moment. I have no idea who these two guys are but surely they'll have more to do in this movie right? Lonnie accidentally throws water on Brad and of course Brad gets upset. A fight breaks out as somehow all the women know to be there at that exact moment. Lonnie quickly wins and Pam appears out of nowhere to tell him off despite Lonnie literally doing nothing wrong. In an act of karmic justice to prove women are not immune from slapstick in this world, she gets her foot stuck in a bucket and instead of taking the L she keeps walking with it on.
When Lonnie sees her go off on her own, he follows her to an abandoned building. I understand that Pam wants to prove that "she's a big girl", but going to an abandoned building without even telling anyone is just stupid. Especially when you just got attacked not even a day ago by people who want to steal your grandfather's gold. Lonnie following her doesn't even prove that he loves her since he was there when she got attacked. His actions more indicate that he's a good coworker who doesn't want to have Pam make a stupid decision that'll get her killed. It's not as if the letter she's got is all that helpful since we see what's said.
We get exposition that her grandfather once owned the biggest mine in the area, a fantasy scene about the building once being a saloon from the 1800s and an audio change makes me think they used ADR for Pam and Lonnie's lines. This whole scene feels like a love letter to the Shemp era westerns with the jokes that they use, down to the editing techniques they used when Lonnie threw his hat. "Put the Blame on Me" had a similar echo effect, but to me it's fine given that it's a fantasy sequence even though this is also unnecessary filler. We fade back and Pam’s laugh in response to the donkey braying at their almost out of nowhere kiss sounded so fake in what feels like another instance of ADR. I have no idea how we're supposed to believe that now Pam likes her.
We get the luau and apparently Lonnie and Pam are together. I think on paper they wanted to convey that they did like each other and she was playing hard to get, but Lonnie meeting up with her at the abandoned saloon really isn't enough to make her suddenly love him. The Dabney's are upset when one of the female clients tries to steal their chicken because she’s starving. I thought it was funny how she tried to grab more food only to jab Mrs. Dabney. To try to appease them, the boss has Lonnie sing and entertain the guests. "I'm Yours" at least fits with the luau setting so I don't mind the vocal effects this time. In fact it's actually a very sweet song.
Meanwhile Pam almost gets kidnapped again and if I was Vera I'd be seriously considering upping security with how this could impact the other guests. If you have an all girl ranch meant to cater to models/actresses, you need to have security measures in place if it's going to be in the middle of the desert. Lonnie and Stanley try to save Pam and once again she tries to help only to hurt Lonnie. The deputy sheriff goes to find the men only to have an actually shocking twist that he’s in on it. Surprisingly we don't see the two lackeys meant to help him almost as if that's not meant to be revealed until later. Pam and Lonnie read the letter and based on what we see this time I don't get why they're struggling with it. It clearly says you have to pull the crowbar straight toward you to get the money out. Granted the diagram showing the wall isn't all that helpful.
It’s the next day and Lonnie sings "Night Rider" and I have no idea why. This feels like nothing but filler since it comes out of nowhere and is quickly forgotten like it never happened. This should've been the opening song since it clearly doesn't fit here. You could cut right to one of his coworkers wanting him to talk to Vera. At least we don’t have an echo effect on this song.
Vera again tries to hit on him while he tries to turn her down. This is so gross to watch and even Elvis looks at the camera like this is wrong. Lonnie kisses her despite being in a relationship and you got to wonder why he would do that. It isn't as if Vera force herself on him because Lonnie willingly kisses her again. Pam is rightfully upset as she sees Lonnie kiss their boss and for once I'm on her side. Lonnie was in a relationship with her and knowingly kissed Vera back. I know it's a cliche to make it be a misunderstanding but I genuinely would rather have that be the case than to watch Lonnie do this only to try apologizing like he made a mistake.
"I Feel That I've Known You Forever" is surprisingly haunting for a ballad. Him going to every window is so weird and you question why Pam is just as defenseless as before. If she was attacked twice, why would no one think to put some security around her house. This. is meant to be private property so Vera should be able to afford that expense. Pam of course breaks things off and Lonnie just quits the ranch offscreen.
Lonnie joins the rodeo and Pam rightfully doesn’t want to speak to him. If only Pam wasn't so unlikeable in the beginning where we can at least laugh at Lonnie's misfortune. We get a ghostly sound of Pam hearing Lonnie's voice which is pretty spooky. I get that she's meant to struggle with missing him or hating him, but based on the montage of Lonnie calling her for four months only for her to hang up, I don't think it was well executed at all. Stanley somehow knew where to find Lonnie despite not having any update. Lonnie is so down bad for Pam that even though he'd write to her, even his letters were rejected. At this point, I would assume the relationship is over. Four months is long enough to think that she's no longer interested. Stanley meanwhile convinces him that Pam is really playing hard to get and that he should tell her off.
As soon as they get there she drives away. They chase after her and they all think about each other’s relationship. They finally stop at a ghost town when it starts to rain. Lonnie spanks her and I hate it. It doesn't fit with the style of slapstick violence we've seen. The writers don't spare women in their works from getting exposed to slapstick so to me I would've had this be a slap fight until Pam realizes that Lonnie does care about her as someone who's more than just a coworker. That way we get a genuine moment of chemistry between the two.
They end up in an abandoned hotel while it’s raining and keep getting spooked by the storm. It's surprisingly light outside for what's supposed to be a monsoon level storm. We get 3 stooges antics where Stanley keeps getting punched by someone through a hidden door. Even Pam gets scared to the point of screaming bloody murder. This is where the movie turns into a horror film as you feel a level of suspense and upcoming danger. Of course it's still humorous by making Lonnie the straight man and by having Pam make the dumb decision to turn the light off when she's clearly afraid of someone breaking into her room. Since no one is getting hurt, it still keeps the tone light for Lonnie to not believe anything's wrong.
We see guys in masks very akin to some 3 stooges shorts which might also act as a Scooby Doo predecessor. The guy in the wolf mask I'm amazed would even want to be outside in this bad weather. Stanley's very much a tribute to Shemp Howard. Seeing him get spooked by both the guys in masks and Lonnie is something I've seen Shemp do. Lonnie being the straight man by not seeing what Stanley saw adds to it because if you just replace them with Moe and Shemp you'd get the same results and it would still be funny. That's a sign that Elvis clearly understood how to convey that style of comedy. It's actually creative at how some of them even got inside since it's not like anyone knew Pam would be going to that hotel. When one of them gets into her room, Pam, for someone who can take cares of herself, doesn't fight back and instead faints allowing him to steal the letter.
Lonnie of course saves the day in an Elvis vehicle style fight scene. We get the reveal that some of the male staff at the ranch were in cahoots with the deputy sheriff. I don't think this twist was executed well because looking back at previous attempts to capture her, you can't help but raise an eyebrow at how she didn't seem to recognize her coworkers earlier. Sure they had their faces covered but we see how staff wise, it's not that big of a ranch for her to have never met them. Lonnie grabbing the knife only to have the handle come off is hilarious. When the man charges him he opens the door only to reveal nothing on the other side. I genuinely wonder what the purpose of that door was since this is meant to be a restored hotel or if it was just magicked into existence by the writers only to then disappear when it wasn't needed. Stanley falls into the storm shelter in a way that in real life I'm amazed didn't kill him since landing on old wooden furniture wouldn't have softened the fall. When they go to get him, they find a suitcase with Pam's grandpa’s initials on it. Stanley pulls the crowbar out trying to open the suitcase and despite the letter clearly saying that's what you need to do, everyone's shocked to see gold coming out of the wall. Why would they even think it's in a suitcase if grandpa specifically made a diagram of the wall?
The deputy sheriff arrives and they find out he was the mastermind. Lonnie beats him in a fight after the running gag of Pam trying to hit his opponent finally works in his favor. I'm genuinely amazed that he was able to do that since Lonnie's an otherwise normal guy and policemen even in a small town would've had some type of training in physical combat. Brad shows up because Vera somehow knew Pam would be at this hotel and surprisingly had absolutely nothing to do with the deputy sheriff's scheme. It turns out that the two men Stanley was talking to earlier were the same guys trying to kidnap Pam. I'm amazed that we got a rare twist hero in the sense that on first watch you thought for sure that he would try to at least kill Lonnie. The only thing I don't get is what he talking to the cook about when almost Pam got kidnapped since Adolph was part of it too. At least include a line for Brad to explain what they talked about since that's a loose end that was never addressed.
Lonnie and Pam end up getting back together and eventually get married at the ranch. This romance felt so underwhelming and you can tell the writers aren't used to playing it straight. I'm not sure if it's the script or Elvis not having the chemistry with Jocelyn but I just don't see these two getting married. Even though Vera was so into Lonnie, she's apparently not at all upset to see them get married and you just wonder what the point of her making passes at Lonnie was. Nothing changed on her end to suggest she's over him or that she even felt sorry for partially ruining his relationship with Pam for many months. We end with "Slowly But Surely" while Stanley’s getting dragged behind in a wash tub. The lyrics actually fit Lonnie's perspective of trying to win Pam back. Why he's singing this when they're already married is an odd choice, but hey it's been almost a half hour since Elvis' last song so we need to end on one. The rear screen projection is so blatant by having Stanley appear in the rear angle shots but then have him be nowhere to be seen when Lonnie sings. A strange joke to end on as they drive off into the proverbial sunset.
I'm very on the fence with this movie. On the comedy side, this movie is a complete success. Ullman and Bernds were masters of their craft regarding slapstick comedy and Elvis fit into that style well by having him play the straight man. Where they fall flat is the romance as I feel like they were told an Elvis movie has to have a romance so they only added one as an afterthought since an Elvis vehicle romance was never really their style. I wish that the other workers who helped the deputy sheriff had the same level of development Brad had it makes their reveal a little more shocking that Brad was friends with them yet still wasn't part of it.
My rating will likely change next time you ask me but for now it's a 7/10. At this time I don't think the comedy and Brad being the twist hero was enough to overcome a boring romance and awful song placement. If you had simply cut out a lot of songs and use that time to develop the side characters, I think this would've been a great movie. For a movie that really only had $750k to work with, I think they did a great job in capturing that western vibe yet also showcase other parts of the country with the rodeo scene in Phoenix. If you're a 3 Stooges fan that really loves the Shemp Howard era, I highly recommend giving it a watch. Even if you're not, I still think this movie is worth watching as it shows what Elvis could've been if the focus was more on physical slapstick comedy. After all, even Moe got hurt sometimes.
A Million Springs: Anya Mouthwashing x Reader
i updated today?
you know i had to double itttt
this was based on my dreems
i hope you guys like it! and thank you for liking and reblogging you beautiful people!
does anya’s ghost count as a warning..??
Abandoned sheets of music lay scattered across your desk, with crumpled, balled-up ones overflowing the trash can. Sleepily, you scribble more lyrics onto a fresh page, writing words of love you wish you could've said to her one more time. It's been almost a year, but the ache hasn't dulled. If anything, it lingers sharper in the quiet.
She loved music. She loved when you sang songs to her, when you'd dedicate them to her during a gig. Though you never thought of yourself as much of a songwriter, she liked whatever impromptu melody you came up with. Anya liked everything—oldies, R&B, pop. You smile softly, remembering how diverse her playlists were during your late-night car rides, each song a little glimpse into her ever-curious heart.
You strum your guitar lightly. The sound feels hollow. Usually, Anya would be there beside you, swaying her head to the rhythm as you practiced, sometimes humming, sometimes shyly singing along. She was always self-conscious about her voice, and you never understood why. You told her she was amazing, better than she realized. But she'd always shake her head and laugh, playfully stubborn. She didn't believe you, though you wished she had.
You glance at the mess on your desk and begin sorting the scattered sheets. Anya would've scolded you for leaving it like this, she hated clutter. She used to tidy up your desk while muttering good-natured complaints. It feels wrong to organize it now without her, but you do it anyway, her voice echoing in your mind.
After a quick shower, you slip into bed, your body clean but your mind anything but. You stare at the ceiling, too tired to move but too restless to drift off. The silence presses heavy around you.
"(Y/N)."
Your breath catches. That voice—it couldn't be.
You sit up, your heart racing, and there she is. Your raven-haired beauty, her familiar eyes gazing down at you with a softness that breaks you. Her lips curve into a gentle smile, and you can't stop the tears that well up in your eyes. Slowly, almost afraid she'll vanish, you reach for her. She takes your hand, her touch warm and steady.
“Anya..." you whisper, the name trembling on your lips. You throw yourself into her arms, sobbing.
She holds you tightly, her fingers stroking your hair with the same tenderness you'd missed so desperately.
"I've missed you so much, Anya. You have no idea how much I've missed you. I wrote so many songs, so many poems—everything for you. I never stopped thinking about you. I never stopped loving you."
"I know," she says softly, her voice like a balm on your wounded heart.
She guides you to sit beside her, her hands warm against yours. "That's why I'm here," she says. "It hurts me to see you like this, to see you cry. I've heard every song you wrote for me, and I love each one."
"You did?" you ask, your voice breaking.
She nods, pressing a kiss to your cheek. "I did. But..."
She hesitates, her eyes searching yours as she holds your hands closer to her chest. "I need you to stop."
Your stomach twists. "Why? Do they bother you?"
"No," she says, shaking her head. "It's not that. But I can't bear to see you so broken. I just want you to keep going, my love. I want to see you happy."
You glance down at her hands, tracing the faint lines of her palm. "Do you remember the night we started going out? And you made me play my guitar for you?"
She chuckles softly, a sound that makes your chest tighten. "You kept forgetting the lyrics to that one oldies song."
"And you sang it instead," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper. "It was the first time you let me hear you really sing."
"I only sang because you wouldn't stop begging," she teases, her eyes glinting with the memory. "And you made fun of me the whole time."
"Because you were so good, and you didn't even realize it." You grip her hand tighter, your voice trembling. "How am I supposed to keep going without moments like that?"
She looks away, her expression softening. "You'll make new ones," she says quietly. "And one day, they won't hurt as much."
"I don't want new ones," you say, shaking your head. "I want the ones we never got to have."
She cups your face, her thumb brushing away a stray tear. "I want them too," she admits. "But I'm not here to haunt you, my love. I'm here to remind you that you're still alive."
"How can I keep going?" you plead. "You were everything to me. How could I ever forget you?"
She opens her mouth to respond, but you press on, desperate to make her understand.
"Give me a million springs," you whisper, your voice trembling, "and a couple of centuries to adore you. After that, I'll forget you. I promise I'll never bother you again."
She sighs, her expression tinged with sorrow. "That's impossible."
You shake your head, tears slipping down your cheeks. "As impossible as it is to forget you."
Her grip loosens, and she lets your hands fall. "Please," she says softly. "I need to see you move on. I can't stand watching you cry over me anymore. Promise me you'll try. Promise me you won't live in the past."
You sigh, your chest heavy. "I'll try," you murmur.
She smiles faintly, her lips brushing your cheek in a final kiss. And then she's gone.
You wake up alone, her words echoing in the silence, and you stare at the empty space where she had been.
She's asking for the impossible.
Not even a million springs would be enough to stop loving her.
Some excerpts from this wheels on fire about levon helm's view of richard manuel and their relationship:
"Richard Manuel was a whole show unto himself. He was hot. He was about the best singer I’d ever heard; most people said he reminded them of Ray Charles. He’d do those ballads, and the ladies would swoon. To me that became the highlight of our show."
"Richard settled in quick. He was instantly likable and extremely funny. He liked to drink a little with the rest of us; he was seventeen when we met him, and he told us with a sheepish grin that he’d been drinking for ten years. He really missed his parents when we went out on the road. In fact, we all missed our folks. We were young and away from home, and we would spend hours sitting around hotels talking about our parents, and families, and the funny things they said and did . That loneliness was a fact of our lives, and in retrospect we know it took a toll on richard"
"When I reported for duty in the basement the day after I arrived in Woodstock, they were working on “Yazoo Street Scandal.” Richard was playing drums. It was the first time I’d heard him, and I was just in awe. It was like a force, and he immediately became my favorite drummer."
"Richard was complicated and felt things really deeply, more than most people. Everyone who knew him would tell you that. His attitude, often expressed to me, was that you might as well live tonight, because tomorrow you could get run over by a truck."
"Richard sang on “Across the Great Divide” and came up with all those chord progressions and tempo changes in the song. You can really hear the glory and plain goodness of Richard’s personality if you listen carefully. "
"Everyone was watching Richard carefully, and he had good nights and bad. Sometimes he shouted and spat out the lyrics to “Tears of Rage” with biblical fevor; other times he sounded painful to hear, but still drenched in the conviction that Richard brought to a song. Richard could hurt you with that voice of his."
"On June 28 we played outdoors in Santa Barbara, our first appearance in Southern California in six years (excluding the Dylan tour). We got one of those rapturous greetings that we all loved, and as the Fourth of July bicentennial neared, Garth began working American anthems into his “Chest Fever” introduction, which made everybody laugh; a nice part of the show. I remember that Richard could barely sing at that show. His voice was so hoarse that he faltered, but he struggled so hard with “In a Station” that once again everybody’s heart went out to him. Despite all the self-destructive behavior, you just couldn’t be mad at Richard."
"Richard had flirted, maybe halfheartedly, with the Reaper a few times before, and every time God threw him back to us. This time He decided to keep Richard Manuel for Himself. Wherever he is now, you can bet that Richard’s got a hell of a good band."
King-Ohger G-rosso S4
Remember when the title is just the most… non-informative with "The Kings Gather Here[at G-rosso]!"? That's. That's literally the plot. Just glad to say all your sentai trope love is satisfied.
There are a lot more actor scenes vs action scenes I doubt if I'm in the right theatre, and much more than S3. Shame on me not having revised on last year's and without realizing S4 is exclusively scripted with the face actors in mind. Even the audio is voiced by the original actors. It's almost like a fan meeting with interactive games and all rather than a Sentai stage play lol.
[spoilers below cut]
(Livestream est. Mar 17, 17:30)
Stage show:
Minnogan broke out of the seal mysteriously and stole the crown lance.
Each cast member has a short sequence of action before transforming. Gira center, Yanma upper stage right, Himeno lower stage left, Rita middle stage right, Kaguragi middle syage left. Rita did the hand-behind-back pose transforming and Papi did the ep16 strike! Jeramie's entrance is all grand with sliding doors in the middle stage. Not just the set blocks sliding horizontally, the projected virtual background (Shugoddom castle platform) also rotates to different angles, so as a stage production, it feels like a level-up from S3.
Minnogan activated the castle spaceship and transported the kings to present day Tokyo, Theatre G-rosso. Yanma commented there seems to be a lot of fun rides, Gira and Kaguragi asked the audience what this place is. Rita remained at the back of the trope.
A kaijin introduced himself as the Magician and blasted them with a beam, the kings minus Giramie suffered a personality inside out. Rita is Idol Rittan, Himeno is yankee (so still violent), Yanma became a coward/shiokara/schoolgirl with pigtails and thick round glasses trope, Kaguragi a flirty jokester. Giramie remained themselves having avoided the attack. When the others stormed off, Giramie looked each other in the eyes and said, "I'll leave that to you." The trust! They are Parents™!!
Yanma shouted, "Yanma is scared 😭" and ran off stage. Rita was the first one that moves versus when they were usually the last. Yuzuyan Rita just immediately switched to the idol voice and came down to the lower stage keep waving at people. When Himeno walked off the scene, they went after her going, "Eh~ don't leave (without) me, Hime-tan!" You can practically see the bottom half of Rita's face 😭
Cut to Rittan chasing an angry Himeno to practice for their Idol act. Rittan turned to the audience and said, "You want to see Hime-tan as an idol too, right?" Jeramie caught up to them and the magician kaijin challenged them to a game to get back to normal.
Kaguragi, Yanma, Gira: Kaguragi became all frivolous with a different tone of speaking (a bit like Ryuta Den-O/Gaon Zenkai). After some routine pick-up lines, Kagu caught up to Yanma, put his arm around his shoulders and said, "How about we have a good long talk, just the two of us?" *wink* Yanma tried to crunch himself as small as possible holding his own hand. HE HIT KAGU WITH A TINY FIST AND SAID "WARUI OTOKO (Naughty guy...)" AND STARTED GINGERLY TOUCHING HIS PECS. Gira arrived just in time for this and said "Are they dating?"
The game is a simplified Flappy Bird but Moffun. Rita's version of Moffun's song played in the background and Rita danced slightly along to it. The audience had too keep clapping loud enough while Moffun (an acutal person is in there moving its arm and legs while in the air) was hanged up by a wire and transported across the stage from left to right. (edit: Yuzuyan sang the Moffun song live instead of a recording. Moffun's arm could be waving because of wire work)
There's a progess bar and game background on the screen too. Of course Moffun fell down half way, Rittan snapped back into the judge voice and yelled at the audience not to drop it (Live Rita scream!!). Jeramie smoothed things over by calling it a practice to make the kaijin give us a second chance. We won the game and they got back to normal. I don't think they have clear memories of their behaviour, but just a vague sense. Regular Rita said, "Feels like I embarrassed myself..."
Kaijin appeared and challenged Gira to a game. The kaijin would call for different poses and Gira had to follow while the rhythm accelerates. Round 1 had Yanma doing rabbit ears and Kagu a tiger's jaw with his hands (like zyuoh shark ED pose). Gira's pose is spreading his arms with the evil laugh act.
Since Gira passed Round 1, the kaijin made the game more difficult by changing the poses faster. Round 2's Yanma's pose is Idol Rittan and Kagu did push-ups. Gira's the same so this session is just watching Taisei got up and down >D< Gira's the one most frequently interacting with the audiene. When they changed back, Yanma was shocked he was standing with his feet pointing inwards. Kaguragi said, "Hmmm, can't tell why but I feel an affection for Yanma-dono."
The six kings regroup. Minnogan summoned Dugded and the kings turned on each other. Gira was not affected but he had to fight off Jeramie. They were quickly de-transformed and appeared pinched.
Prince and Kyoryu Red descended from the middle block and ziplined to the rescue! Prince very naturally said "Otou-chan" >D< The Kyoryu pairs led the audience into a cheer for the King-Ohgers.
The kings regained strength while Dugded revived the Jesters to fight them. Gira transformed with the crown and they did the ep33 crossover roll call.
Yan Hime vs. Hibill & Glodi. Kagu Rita vs. Goma & Kamejim. The pollinator fight is amazing. They kinda ran up the audience blocks up to the last block and zipline back down??? and then they defeated them combining their "King's Proof" techniques. Jeramie and Prince fought Minnogan while Gira and King fought Dugded.
They won, detransformed, did the fist bump circle from ep39, and the kingoh dance.
After talk:
I was at Feb 4 16:00 & 17:30. Both sessions are the same.
The kings invented a game called "King-Ohger Game" (HKers call it "Ping! Pang! Wah!")
The players are in a circle and point to a person while saying a command. You have to say/do the correct response in sequence or lose.
Person A points at B, A says (First Name)
B -> C (Last Name)
C & Everyone (pose)
C -> anyone else *repeats*
The commands and poses:
Gira -> Husty -> "Jaku no Ou!" (thumb & forefinger out pointing the front)
Yanma -> Gast -> "Souchou!" (yankee fix hair both hands)
Himeno -> Ran -> "Kawaii" (this but smiling)
Rita -> Kaniska -> "Saibanchou" (stabs sword to ground)
Kaguragi -> Dybowski -> "Ou-tono!" (pose)
Jeramie -> Brasieri -> "Otto?" (two palms up on side + head shake)
The kings were in this line up 💙💛❤🤍💜🖤 at introduction, but Rita said they are serious about the game and need to see better with their only left eye so they mvoed all the way to right -> 💜💙💛❤🤍🖤. Yuzuyan even flipped her hair a bit and showed the blue eye (me dead at the coolness)
The kings formed a semi-circle to start the game. The audience was supposed to follow with the poses but the cast apparently was just having fun themselves XD. They kept getting faster and faster until it's Wings targeting each other. Yanma lost the game and Rita immediately stepped forward to announce he lost. Yanma asked "Seriously?!" (feels like it's the actors at this point but it still fits their characters lol)
The penalty is a mimic game. Aoto need to do Boon. He skipped to stage center. "Gira nii-chan~! Advent! King-Ohger!"
In the 17:30 show, Erica lost twice. She said the first time is practice but admitted it the second time. She did Suzume's "Help! Shugo Kamen-sama~!!"
After the game, Jeramie asked the audience if they like each member respectively, but paused at Gira's turn. He only asked when Gira said "What about me?" Then he also asked if we like Miss MC (so MC can ask if we like Jeramie). When everyone says "Daisuki", Jeramie gets to say "Me too <3" 😭
At the final bye-bye, Himeno is always pointing out "I see you!" at the fans. Gira will say "ギラだよ!" at the little kids. Giramie did a 🫶 with each other!! REAL. I heard the fans behind me said "There's so much Giramie (<-exact word) in this show" upon leaving.
Conclusion:
Can March 17 comes faster because I need to see this show again. This show is SO worth the price as a fan meeting.
I didn't fact-check this but twitter were saying Takada Masashi is listed in S4's credits. I don't know if he's in the Kumonos suit or in a supervising role but Kumonos looked significantly buffer than before and quite close to TV to my untrained eye. Another thing is I find Jeramie's mantle is much longer than I thought? I thought it just passed his hips but it's almost at his calf.
There were real fire shooting up and the theatre did turn completely dark for a bit so I see why baby kids would be scared. But as an adult I had a LOT of fun seeing the action so close in person and apparently the cast is having a lot of fun too.
Ticketing & seating:
(previous guide)
S3: I booked a general lottery round through proxy and got two permium through twitter. Possibly because most people has seen it, tickets weren't hard to find.
S4: I did not book anything but general lottery round were available on twitter for Saturady (2/3). Permium is hard to find because Jeramie is really popular now his badge is complimentary to the Permium ticket. General Sale opens one week before for Feb S4 (and two weeks before for March). I managed to find tickets in the first block just hopping by a 7-11. (Note: sale starts 1/27 19:00 but choosing your own seat only works after 1/28 0:00) There are still tickets in the middle and last block on the same day. The later the shows, the least crowded from my observation. Saturadays might be easier to get tickets but if you want to feel the atmosphere with kids cheering around you, choose a Sunday show.
Since it's about seeing the actors, I'd still advise seating yourself as front as possible. Even on the far left or right, you can still see the whole stage. I think the ideal distance is Row E or F because down on Permium, your view to the middle stage will be blocked and your neck's gonna hurt staring at what's happening at the ceiling.
Another good seat is any walkway seat or Row L so the suit actors run next to you. Seating at the second block isn't too bad this time because S4 has actors running/descending from as far as Row T.
Both S3 & S4 face actor sessions require real-name registration on the ticket. You have to input a name and a JP phone number at the combini machine, but they don't actually check it upon entry.
Wish You Were Here
Logan Howlett X Fem! Mutant! Reader
Warnings: ANGST, mentions of sacrifice, sad! Logan, angst asf, mild implied smut, blood, drinking, mentions of blow
Summary: Logan replays the song ‘Wish You Were Here’ by Pink Floyd, over and over again. He met you in the new universe, bringing back all the memories of his old life with you. That night, he drank himself to sleep.
The dark, strong liquid ran down Logan’s throat. He found himself at the bottom of the bottle once again. Digging around the apartment, he found Wade’s secret stash, beginning to drink that too.
Seeing you again had been too much. The slow guitar filled his ears. Wade had showed him how Spotify worked, creating playlists for the Wolverine to listen to. You had used Spotify in his world, but he had never bothered to learn. Logan didn’t like a lot of them, but he went looking for this song after he saw you at Wade’s party.
“Logan..” you whispered, gently kissing him.
He was on top of you, making you moan and plead for him.
Logan blinked away both the memory and the tears. In his other world, you were his. You were his to protect, to love, to cherish. And you had died with the rest of them. He couldn’t save you.
Your giggling brought a smile to his face. The stupid, fancy restaurant was nice enough to take you out on a first real date. It wasn’t Logan’s style, or yours, for that matter, but he wanted to treat you to something nice. You deserved it. The long, elegant red dress you wore hugged you in all the right places. It showed off your curves. Your cleavage stared at him from across the table.
“Thank you, Lo.” You smiled at him, caressing his hand.
Logan started crying, taking another swig of the liquor. You looked the exact same as you did before. The way you smiled at him, told him your name. He had frozen, not responding. He had killed you, it was all his fault. Seeing you again was unbearable. He left and went to a bar, not sticking around the party where you were. Now, he found himself finding solace in the alcohol around the apartment. He was even considering doing the blow Blind Al had left out, but knew it wouldn’t work for him with his healing abilities. He didn’t care what it was, he just needed to not feel anything for a while. The song was your song. You had sung it every time it came on. You were more tech savvy than Logan ever was or could be.
“So… so you think you can tell… heaven from hell? Blue skies from pain?” You sang out, in the passenger seat of the truck. You and Logan were sent on a mission by Charles. You installed Bluetooth into the old pickup. Logan opted to just let you control it the entire time, but would request a song every now and then.
“Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail, A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell?” Your slow, melodic voice brought peace to his ears. Even despite the sad lyrics, the emotion in your voice, Logan felt content to listen to you sing all day, night, years even.
He was putting himself through misery. Remembering the way you sang this song, remembering the soft words, gentle touches, passionate kisses between the two of you. The love you gave him was everything he ever wanted. You showed him kindness, when no one else had. Tears fell even more quickly.
“How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year,” You had belted out. You felt comfortable around Logan, to sing like this. You didn’t sing around the other x-men, which made Logan feel all the more special around you.
“Running over the same old ground, what have we found? The same old fears, wish you were here..” Your voice died out.
The memory faltering, being replaced by the image of Logan finding you dead.
Blood seeping from your fatal wounds. He hadn’t been here. He hadn’t been here to protect you. “Lo…” you choked out, releasing a final breath. You were in the doorway to the mansion. He knew you had tried to use your power to protect the others, sacrificing yourself first. It had meant nothing, no one was left alive.
Oh, he wishes you were here. To hold him, to comfort him. He knows you would tell him it’s not his fault, it was never his fault, but he knows it is his fault that you’re gone. You had begged him to stay that night. He would give anything to hear you sing again…
A/N: Sorry for this y’all, I’m just angsty asf and listening to this song on repeat made me think of Logan thinking about his old family. Crying in the club tbh…
PREVIOUS CHAPTER || NEXT CHAPTER
Your clothes are thrown all over your bed. You didn't pack for Vegas, thinking you'd be going on a date with a rockstar. Was It a date? Could this be classed as a date? You'd looked up Enzos after Wayne had told you. It was a rather fancy place, and you didn't have much in the way of fancy clothes in your bag.
Finally, you decided on a pair of fishnets under a pair of shorts and one of the few non-band tops you had in your bag it would have to do. The outfit you'd chosen was typically only to be worn with friends. Adam constantly told you that you dressed too young for your age and it was time to get new clothes. Ones appropriate for your age.
It was that sort of thing that made you question your with him. His friends wore band T-shirts, and he had even brought you one back when he saw Queen a few months ago. You remembered how he'd tried to make you jealous, but you'd smiled and told him while you respected Adam Lambert and knew that Freddie would've wanted his songs sung well into the future. But you couldn’t see Queen. Not without Freddie, it wasn't the real Queen experience.
He still tried to make you jealous, however.
You'd spent your afternoon finding a lawyer who would do an annulment. He'd given you the papers you needed and explained you both had to fill them out and sign before he could get you in front of a judge. It looked like a long process, but you just hoped it would be done before the six weeks were up.
It was finally time to leave. You could feel your heart pounding hard as you left the hotel. You decided to walk to Enzos, not because you were drinking but because it was around the corner. You could see your hands shaking with nerves as the restaurant came into view.
You were finally catching up with Eddie. That was the scariest part of all of this. The anticipation filled you full of fear. You didn't even remember the last conversation you had with him, and you didn't even remember marrying him. So, this was a terrifying moment.
You stared at the stage. Corroded Coffin were on fire. You'd been forced into a veil and sash for the evening, which caught Eddie’s attention.
“I can feel the thunder that's breaking in your heart, I can see through the scars inside you!”
You stared in awe as he sang, his eyes locked on yours. He gave you a wink before he played his solo. You couldn't stop staring at his hands. The way he moved so skillfully through cords. The way his fingers glided up and down the fretboard. You’d started to bite your lip close to breaking the skin as you watched him finish your favourite song.
Arriving at Enoz’s, you swallowed hard and opened the door. Stepping into the beautiful, warm and friendly candle-lit restaurant, you looked around and smiled gently as a waitress approached you.
“Reservation for Baggins.”
The waitress smiled and nodded.
“Right this way.”
Following her across the room, you saw him. It was like your heart stopped beating at that moment. The leather jacket settled nicely on the back of the chair, a crisp white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up showed off his tattoos, and you could see his combat boots and black jeans below the table, helping you feel less underdressed.
Then there was his hair. He had it down. He’d hardly ever worn it up; never in photos of the band or magazines did he have it up. You could see he was playing with it like he was nervous. What did he have to be nervous about? He was a Rockstar. Your heart fluttered as you stepped closer to him, a feeling of nervousness bubbling up inside.
“Mr. Baggins, your guest has arrived.”
Eddie turned around; it was like something in a romantic comedy. His face turned into a bright smile as he stood up. As he did, he bumped the table, causing water to spill over the tablecloth.
“Fuck.”
You couldn't help yourself. A smile broke out on your face as you looked at the flushed face of the rockstar you were meeting.
“Let's get you two a dry table, yeah?”
You smiled at the waitress and followed her to a different table. You smiled as Eddie pulled out your chair and pushed you in. The waitress placed the menus down and then left the two of you alone.
“Hi.”
You looked up and smiled as you saw how awkward he looked.
“Hi.”
There was an awkward air between the two of you as you sat together, your eyes on each other. Eddie’s eyes were hypnotic up close; you could get lost in those chocolate swirls. Picking up your glass of water, you looked down only to find they still needed to be filled. You couldn't help the look of embarrassment.
“Thank you for wearing jeans, by the way. I was worried I'd be really underdressed.”
Eddie laughed as he fiddled with the napkin on the table.
“Business up top, party down below.”
“Like a mullet.”
Eddie got excited at this, nodding and pointing.
“Exactly! My friends didn't get it.”
You laughed, a sense of pride filling you at that moment.
“A clothing mullet, that's a first.”
You mused as you tucked your hair behind your ear and smiled. Eddie looked at you and grinned.
“I figured I better look smart for my wife.”
The second that word left his lips, your heart thumped hard in your chest. It sounded so wonderful coming from his lips. Part of you felt like you couldn't breathe, and you wanted to keep that title of Eddie’s wife.
“I shouldn't have left you with Tammy, and I'm sorry I did.”
“It's okay, though I wanted to hit her round the head. Rude bitch.”
Eddie laughed as he leaned back in his chair while the waitress filled your glasses. You were surprised at how easy he was to talk to; he seemed happy being around you. It made you happy.
“I lost a bet. That's the only reason I employed her.”
You stared at Eddie, your eyes wide at his admittance.
“I'm sorry, you only employed her because of a bet?”
You watched him playing with his hair, using it to hide his face as he looked at you.
“Yeah. My friend Steve bet me I couldn't get her to come to my Halloween party dressed as a muppet.”
“Why?”
“Steve and Robin say she sings like a muppet. If I could pull that off, it would've been an amazing moment of entertainment for both of them. But she came in this dress thinking there would be some big musicians and managers there.”
You stared, slightly dumbfounded at his admittance.
“I have to employ her for a year. She's not even good at her job.”
“So I noticed.” You commented with a smirk. “What would you have gotten if you won?”
“I wanted him to be in the He Is video, he won though sadly.”
You couldn't help but smile at least neither of them had some sort of sexist bet over a girl. One was to give her a decent-paid job, while the other was to get a friend in an awesome video. You couldn't help but admire that.
“So, about Veg-”
“Are you two ready to order?”
You looked at the waitress, trying hard not to be annoyed that she'd just interrupted you.
“I'll have the carbonara.”
You smiled when Eddie ordered. He seemed to know what he liked. Scanning the menu, you found the vegetable lasagna and decided to settle on that.
“So about Vegas.”
You started once again; after being left alone.
“I found a marriage certificate in my bag, we apparently…”
“Yeah, we got married.”
He was so casual about it as he leaned back in his chair.
“I don't remember it.”
“Well, that is what every groom wants to hear.”
Eddie joked with a smirk.
“You're serious? You don't remember it?”
His tone became slightly serious as you shook your head.
“I went to a lawyer, and he said we can get it annulled. We just have to get some papers filled out.”
“What if I don't want to?”
You frowned as you looked at Eddie. You hadn't thought of that. What if he didn't want to divorce you?
“I'm kidding.”
You let out a sigh of relief.
“Good, because I'm getting married in six weeks.”
“I know.”
“What?”
You stared at Eddie. You were stunned. He knew you were getting married, but he married you anyway?
“You told me about Adam, and then we drank some more.”
You felt angry, he knew. Yet he had the guts to fucking marry you.
“You… you asshole!”
“Oh Princess, look I am so-.” Before he could say anything else, you threw your glass of water over him and stood up. Shaking your head at him, you walked out of the restaurant. You couldn’t help but feel frustrated, angry, confused. What type of guy did something like that? “Princess, come on.”
Eddie had thrown money onto the table and rushed out after you, and he was dripping wet. His shirt was starting to cling to his torso. But you didn’t care right now. You were mad, you were going to walk away, regardless of how fucking hot he looked.
“Princess, please.”
“Stop calling me that!”
You snapped and turned around to look at him. Your eyes couldn’t help but glance down at the fabric sticking to his stomach. No matter how mad you were, it made your stomach twist and turn slightly. All you could think about was Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice.
“Look, I’m sorry, okay?”
“No, it’s not okay. I am getting married, and you married me and then ran away. I had to follow you to this tiny ass town to make sure I could still get married.”
“Even if you’re making a mistake?”
You stared at Eddie, your lips parted as you looked at him. A shiver ran down your spine as he spoke words that you’d never dared think about.
“You know nothing about me. You know nothing about me and Adam.”
“No? I know that he doesn’t like you working. He constantly criticises your clothes: and your friends, he makes you feel small. Makes you feel worthless.”
You looked at him, blinking as you tried to prevent the tears. Adam did every single one of those things and so much more. He never touched you, but it didn’t stop him from speaking to you like you were shit. Causing you to feel like you’d been punched in the gut. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He wanted to argue, but he didn’t. Instead, he bit down on his lip and looked at you. A puppy-like look appeared on his face as he slowly stepped toward you and reached out and touched your arm.
“Look, I’m sorry. I never meant to upset you.”
He slowly moved his hand to touch your cheek; his eyes bore into yours.
“I’ll sign the papers. I have one condition, however.”
You kept your eyes on his, your heart fluttering as he stood this close to you. You couldn’t pull your eyes from his.
“What?”
“Stay the week. Attend all this awful wedding stuff that being a single person can be hard to endure, and once the wedding is over, I'll sign the papers, meet the judge and you can be on your merry way.”
Silence took over the pair of you. Nothing but the distant chatter of people and cars driving past.
“You want me to come to some stranger's wedding as your wife?”
“No, as my friend.” He replies softly and gently.
“But then why won't you sign?”
Eddie looked at you. He didn't want to admit that he hoped he could change your mind and get you to call off your wedding. He didn't care if you wanted to stay with him. He just felt as if his mother had sent you to him to protect where he failed to protect her.
“Call it insurance? We don't know each other that well… or at all really and this way we both keep our promises.”
You swallowed hard, one week. Just one. You could do that.
“Fine, I'll have to go shopping though I don't have anything for a wedding.”
“I'll pay, there are several different functions.”
“I don't need you to pay.”
“I didn't say you did, but it's a gesture.”
“I can pay for myself.”
“Then let me at least put you up, you can stay at my place and I'll stay at Wayne’s.”
“Eddie…”
“No, no arguing. Treat it like an air BnB or something. You get my place. Then you don't have to stay in the inn.”
You sighed, gently but then nodded softly.
“Okay.”
“Great!”
Eddie smiled as you came to a stop walking outside the inn.
“I'll be here to pick you up in the morning.”
“Okay.”
He took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to you.
“For your number.”
You smiled gently and put it in (you had to use your phone cause you never remember it) then rang yourself to get his number.
“I'll call you in the morning and we can figure out a time.”
“Okay, sounds good to me.”
You stared at each other for a moment, your heart thumping as you handed back his phone and your fingers touched his.
“I'll see you tomorrow, Goodnight.”
“Eddie, wait.”
You stepped closer to him, looking up at him.
“Yeah?”
“What happened in Vegas?”
Eddie smirked, looking down into your eyes with a cocky little smirk. Leaning in, he whispered in your ear his voice causing goosebumps up your body. You watched him walk away, the chill in the air wrapping around you as his words echoed in your mind.
“I'll tell you tomorrow Princess.”
04 december 2024, aka ✨ a moment in time when miles kane and i breathed the same air (and touched hands) ✨
the doors opened later than expected, which was a bit of an unpleasant experience bc it was drizzling and was very VERY cold
(thankfully i ended up wearing an inner heattech layer below my top + my usual winter jacket, and had hand warmers in my pockets which saved me during the wait!! thank u to everyone who gave me advice about how to dress for my concerts 😘)
we were eventually let in and i was so !!! excited !!! if you'd seen from my previous post, i wasn't all that far from the front of the line, so i figured i'd get a pretty good spot. and i was right! i got barricade! for some reason however, i chose to stand near the drum set, rather than where the mike was set up. i'm putting this down to a moment of stupidity and/or overwhelming joy about actually getting to see miles live so soon
miles' opening act was p. good actually. i enjoyed his music! at one point he talked about miles and said that he loves miles and that we 'couldn't find a better friend' like yes bitch (affectionate) exactly!!! he then dedicated one of his songs to miles but i can't now remember which one it was, but i remember listening v. intently to the lyrics trying to pick things apart and then mentally going kombuchagirl.gif
and then he left the stage and there was more music which i was vibing to and THEN!!!! miles' walk on music came over the speakers!!!!!
i was screaming like a banshee from the get-go but it was literally SO QUIET otherwise. i felt incredibly self-conscious so i stopped lol although he absolutely deserved to have someone screaming for him even though he wasn't onstage yet!! it took him finally stepping onto that stage and raising his hands in greeting before the crowd finally hyped him up
and then he went right on with the performance!
it's so funny because i think i was in a haze those first few songs. i genuinely have no recollection of much happening or even of the songs he was singing (although ofc i was singing along). i think for the most part i was just staring at him, jaw on the floor
i was legimitately so awed that i froze whenever he came right up in my face. the first time he did it i didn't even manage to take any photos/vids despite having my handphone in my hand lmfao 😭 but i did get some really cute pics after he was a safe enough distance away that my brain was able to function shdjdb
he shared this super cute moment w the girl next to me bc she was basically screaming in his face and it made him laugh. as he deserves!!!
my fav song from the first half of the set list was counting down the days, which was such an Experience live. i might have cried a little. i in no way relate to the lyrics.
he sounded soooo good <3 i know it's been said a lot, but he really does come across as so settled and assured of who he is an artist. it's truly a gorgeous thing to see
and then the time came when he put aside the electric guitar for his acoustic... to sing sntm. did i love it? yes. was i extremely disappointed that it was only at that point when the crowd was screaming and singing the loudest? you betcha.
for my own peace of mind i will not be saying anything else
after that song, he asked if we had any requests and a bunch of girlies right in front of him were chanting for him to sing dealer, which he did!! i think he said something about him possibly getting the lyrics wrong bc it'd been a while, which got us giggling. but he sang it so beautifully ahhhh
THEN after that they insisted he sing aviation. which he also did
as far as i'm concerned that's miles' song!!! and i will be forever grateful that i got to hear him sing the words 'it's your decision honey, my planet or yours?'
BUT this meant he didn't sing baggio 💔 broke my heart fr i was ready to sob my little heart out over that one. @ miles kane this is luxphobia
sometime after this he spoke about how he'd almost cancelled because his drummer Jen was unwell, but that his sound guy Chris agreed to step in and help out on drums. and he asked the crowd to hype him up which we were more than happy to do!!!
towards the end, miles and chris were both playing a slower version of never taking me alive, but when the tempo changed and the song started proper Chris played troubled son instead. miles' face was soooo funny sdhfsj bc he was so in the zone while holding his pose, but very quickly was like. 'oh. okay.' lmaoooo but he was also v. reassuring, looking over to Chris to signal that it was all good and adjusting quickly. there were some smiles and laughter during this moment too--i will post the video later!
the show ended a couple of songs later (too soon if you asked me
i initially wanted to try to meet him after, but bc i was alone and not familiar with the place i decided against it
nevertheless i'm so so grateful it all worked out, bc i don't think i'd get to see the chance to see miles unless i travel to europe to catch one of his shows. if he had cancelled, i would've been devastated. there would've been a lot of tears and snot and i would've been inconsolable. and y'all would have to see me post about how upset i am every now and again lol
as mentioned, i managed to capture some pretty cute moments which i will be sharing here! if you hear me singing along and hearing my voice crack midway, pls excuse it bc i was recovering from falling ill and almost losing my voice after zayn's concert xoxo
#miles kane#i started drafting this the moment i got back to my room. don't ask why i'm only posting it two whole weeks later#(i really tried this time to be the kind of person who would update about things as they were happening. this attempt did not last long)#lux.txt
Teach me - Kevin Korchinski
Summary: Kevin teaches you how to play the guitar.
a’s notes: @val-k this one’s for you! Accidentally deleted the ask but thank god I remembered it! Hope you like it and once again thank you for requesting <3
warnings: not proofread
you watched him strum the guitar, you couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe. His fingers moved effortlessly across the strings, producing a melody that was both soothing and invigorating. The way he leaned into the music with such concentration was a sight to behold. His eyes closed, lost in the rhythm, he seemed to be in his own world, oblivious to everything around him. But even in that state, a small smile played on his lips, as if he was sharing a secret with the music. It was a beautiful moment, and it made you realize just how much you adored him
You sat cross-legged on the floor, staring intently at your boyfriend as he strummed his guitar and sang his heart out. The melody was beautiful and touching, and you couldn't help but feel proud of him. As the song came to an end, you cheered and clapped, letting him know how much you enjoyed his performance.
"Baby, that was so good," you gushed, a big grin on your face. "Can you teach me how to play?"
You knew your boyfriend couldn't resist when you gave him the puppy-dog eyes, and sure enough, he sighed and patted the space next to him.
"Sure thing, love," he said, his voice warm and gentle. "Come sit with me and I'll show you”
Kevin, with a gentle smile, approached you and carefully placed the guitar on your lap. He then pulled you closer to his side and took your hand, guiding you to randomly play a chord on the instrument. After each chord, he patiently told you the name of it, making sure you understood it well before moving on to the next one. As the time passed, Kevin began teaching you the beginning of the beautiful song "Say you won't let go" by James Arthur. He carefully showed you each note and chord, holding a guitar for the first time, your fingers felt clumsy and uncertain.
You strummed a few chords slowly, trying to get the hang of it, at times you messed up and felt frustrated making your sweet boyfriend place his hand on your shoulder and comfort you.
feeling a sudden urge of confidence, and your fingers moved more confidently across the strings. You played a few more chords, and your boyfriend sang, making you feel like a real musician. You couldn't help but smile as you looked at him, feeling so proud of yourself.
As you listened to his instructions, he spoke in a calm and reassuring tone, his words carrying a sense of patience and understanding. "Remember to take your time with this," he said, his eyes fixed on yours in a steady gaze. "Don't let yourself get too stressed out about it. It's completely normal to take a while to get the hang of it."
His smile was warm and genuine, filled with pride and encouragement as he continued to guide you through the process. With each passing moment, you felt more confident and at ease, knowing that he was there to support you every step of the way.
you whispered, "Thank you for showing me, baby. It means a lot that I get to learn from you", you felt a rush of gratitude towards Kevin, your partner. He had just taught you the guitar, and you were grateful for his patience and expertise. Your eyes locked onto his pretty green eyes, and you felt yourself getting lost in them. Kevin's gaze shifted to your lips, and before you knew it, he brought them together and gave you a passionate kiss. You felt your heart racing as you melted into the moment, enjoying the warmth and tenderness of his embrace.
“I’m glad you asked”
Ghost Of You
Park Jisung
Genre: Angst. Just sad
Warnings: Mentions of character d3ath, mourning, mentions of a car accident, Jisung is hurting, lmk if I should put anything else :)
A/N: I wrote this on a whim when Ghost of You by 5SOS came on. I'm on my period so I'm feeling emotions rn yall.
Fic under cut 🫶🏾
------------------------------------------------------------
Three months had passed since the accident. Jisung remembers it vividly, as if it happened yesterday. He woke up in a cold sweat, just as he’s done every night for the past month that he's been home from the hospital. Instinctively reaching for you just to find the bed empty, he couldn’t help the tears pricking his eyes as he swallowed the large lump in his throat. He slowly sat up, staring at the wall for what felt like an eternity, before turning his legs over the edge of the bed. With a deep sigh, he grabbed his crutches and slowly stood up. After a short struggle, Jisung managed to make it to the kitchen. On the island sat a vase of withered flowers. Placed there by his friends shortly after the funeral, he never had the energy to care for them. ‘Just another death,’ he mumbled to himself, grabbing the vase and tossing it in the trash. He propped his crutches against a wall before hobbling around the kitchen to make himself some breakfast. He tried to make sure he ate throughout the day. “Take care of yourself. It’s what y/n would want.” He could hear Chenle’s voice echoing through his head.
Hearing the phone ring pulled him out of his thoughts. He scrambled with his phone, a faint hope that it would be you, but the sensible part of his brain told him it wasn’t. “KING HEAD” flashed across his screen. With another sigh, he swiped his thumb across the screen to answer. “Hello?” It was the first time he’d spoken to anyone other than his mother in weeks. "Oh, dude, you actually answered! Guys!! He answered!!” His best friend’s voice resonated loudly in his ear, causing him to pull the phone away with a slight cringe. “How are you feeling, man?” Jeno’s voice came through the speaker. “My leg hurts.” Jisung stated, looking down on the cast starting just below his knee. He knew that’s not really what they were asking about, but they allowed him to evade the question. “Have you taken your meds? Do you need me to bring you a new prescription? Do you need anything from the store?” Mark’s voice came through next, worry evident in his tone even though he tried to hide it. “No. I’m good. Mom stopped by a few days ago.” Jisung said softly. Turning his attention to the food on the stove, he absentmindedly responded to his friends while they spoke to him.
The phone call didn’t last long. Jisung ended the call abruptly when he couldn’t hold back his tears after finding your favorite mug while searching for a cup to pour his coffee in. He held the mug in his trembling hands as he choked back quiet sobs, caressing the mug with his thumb. He had gotten you the mug for your first anniversary, with both of your initials printed in a big red heart. He remembered the way you tackled him in a tight hug when you opened the gift. A sad smile formed on his lips as he recalled the memory. He carefully placed the mug back into the cabinet before grabbing his own and wiping his tears. He poured his coffee and took his plate to the couch, sitting down to eat. He mustered up enough energy to turn on the TV. He was hardly paying attention to the screen while he slowly fed himself. Getting bored with the show he wasn’t even paying attention to, he decided to open Netflix. He found himself habitually turning on your favorite movie.
Jisung was proud of himself, having made it through half of the movie before he couldn’t bear it anymore. He forced up the courage to turn on the playlist you’d made for him on your third date. Just his luck, a slow song would come on. ‘Easily’ by Bruno Major. It was one of your favorites. You loved it when he sang it to you. Food was long forgotten as he stood up, walking to the picture frames hung on the wall. He pulled one off the hook, looking at your smiling face. His body began to move to the music, mimicking the dance moves you two did together as best he could in his condition. A smile etched itself onto his face, matching yours in the picture he was holding. He softly sang along to the song, just as he would if you were here in his arms. He moved slowly to the rhythm of the song as tears began slowly running down his cheeks. “I hope you’re resting, my angel.” He mumbled, his smile dropping as a sob escaped his chest. He clutched the picture frame to his chest as he dropped to his knees. Loud sobs shake his body, tears flowing out of his control. He longed to see you, even if it was just the ghost of you.
the headcanon ask game!
for both sabo and koala:
🏳️🌈🧸🎶💝❤️🔥😶
Send in a character or characters and an icon and I’ll give you...
i am so sorry this took so long btw, a mixture of me being busy and also having to come up with these on the spot made it take longer than i wanted it to!
these also range from "simple and straight forward" to "mini fics/drabbles" haha, sorry for the inconsistency
🏳️🌈 A sexuality headcanon
they're both bisexual, although koala is (in my opinion) far more likely to be vocal about it than sabo, who is too busy with work to think about relationships.
koala realized she was bisexual when she met betty for the first time, and no i will not elaborate further. meanwhile sabo has just always kinda known that gender doesn't matter for him.
(more under the cut!)
🧸 A headcanon about their childhood
one day, while traveling the seas with the sun pirates, their ship was attacked by slavers looking for a profit. they were arrogant, and believed they could easily take out the group of fishmen on the ship.
koala doesn't remember much about that night, except for how frightened she was, as the ship had been caught up in a cyclone right before being attacked.
but she does remember huddling in a corner of the ship, wide eyes staring as a man came rushing towards her. she remembers jinbei, stepping out of nowhere and using Samehada Shotei against the slaver, and how the sheer force of it was enough to cause the man to be tossed across the room, knocking him out. jinbei then turned to her, and had her crawl onto his back for safety until they could ensure there was no one left on the ship.
that memory stayed burned into her for the rest of her life, and the day that hack told her that she'd finally perfected the Samehada Shotei technique was one of the happiest moments of her life.
for the longest time, sabo's childhood was not defined by memories, but rather feelings and vague nightmares. he remembered there being a great, terrible fire, and the fear he felt when he saw it. he remembered the feeling of a bird, trapped in it's cage and wanting so desperately to fly free. so many dark emotions, so many nights waking up in a cold sweat, gripping onto his sheets.
but sometimes, there were positive thoughts and dreams from his childhood. a song played in a bar on a mission might bring back the memory of tall, towering trees amidst a humid jungle. koala clinging to him in the middle of a hot night brought back the feeling of creaky wooden boards beneath him, and the starry night sky above him.
it wouldn't be until after ace's death that he gained the context necessary to understand those lingering childhood memories, but context didn't make his heart feel any less heavy in his chest.
🎶 A headcanon about music
one day while laying low in a bar and trying to plan out their next steps on an important mission assigned to them by dragon, koala began singing along to an old song that was being played on a dingy old piano in the corner. to her surprise, sabo began humming along with it, despite it being a song that was usually only known by pirates.
after their mission, she sat down with him and sang the lyrics in the hopes of triggering some memories from his past, but the only thing that came to mind for sabo was a warm summer night in a jungle.
later on, he'd put together that he must have heard the song from luffy, who taught both him and ace the lyrics to "prepare them" for their life as a pirate.
💝 A headcanon about their love language
sabo is a very "physical touch" person, when they are alone he is constantly either in their lap, or clinging onto them, almost as if when he lets go of them, they'll disappear forever.
koala, on the other hand, is more of a "quality time" type of person. to her, so long as she is near the person she loves, that is quality time, even if they aren't doing the same thing. this doesn't mean that she isn't physically affectionate, in fact she can be quite clingy when she's worried or upset, but that isn't her primary love language.
❤️🔥 A romantic headcanon
oh gosh, haha, i'm honestly one of the worst people for romance but here we go
one of sabo's favorite things to do when coming home from a mission is to put his head in koala's lap and fall asleep. almost every outside observer wonders when koala will get fed up with him and kick him out of her lap, especially since she'll complain about it to anyone who will listen, but hack knows that koala secretly loves it. when she thinks no one is looking she'll often run her fingers through his golden locks, and simply enjoy the downtime with him.
😶 A random headcanon!
sabo has fangs like a dragon 3:
koala has an incredibly high spice tolerance, but primarily bc she enjoys food that has strong flavors.
#i am so so sorry that it took me this long but honestly?#it took me this long bc i really don't have too many hc's for these two so you really put me to a test!#tysm for sending this and i hope you enjoy the headcanons as much as i enjoyed writing them <3#latinokokonoi#one piece#saboala#revolutionary sabo#one piece koala#answered
