Ideas for Charging/Activating Sigils:

Sigils are just so darn flexible. I love them very much. Here’s a bunch of things you can do to them. I’ve only tried about five of these, but I think any of them would work. Obviously some are dependent on certain beliefs such as animism; I just wanted to give a bunch of examples of some of the ways you can fill sigils with power, because they’re just so darn cool and once you stop thinking of these you see opportunities everywhere.

Trace it into the condensation on windows/shower glass/mirrors (mirrors are especially good if you want the sigil to affect you in a casting)

Tape it to your window on the full moon/moon phase corresponding to the sigil

Make a specially designated sigil-charging envelope that you can put your new sigil papers in. This could be decorated and have even more sigils on it specifically for charging.

Put it under your favorite houseplant and ask them to help out.

Place it in the folds of your favorite blanket/item of clothing and imagine it soaking up that good energy.

Place it under a candle and imagine that, as the wax drips down, the energy of the flame drips down to fill your sigil with power.

Use it as a bookmark in a book that exemplifies the intent of your sigil.

Consecrate a special notebook or notepad to collect your sigils in. When you add a new one, it draws upon the collective power of all of your finished sigils.

Similarly, you could enchant a particular pen so that whatever sigil you draw with it is activated or charged.

Whittle it into a stick (not a living tree. it’s bad for them.) that you behold as having the appropriate magical properties.

Sew the sigil into something.

Trace your sigil in the air with a wand while speaking some words of power.

Tape the sigil paper onto an instrument you play and play a song that corresponds to the sigil’s purpose (or just infuses the sigil with the sacred vibrations of music).

Trace the sigil into a sauce with a utensil and eat it. (Or, if it’s a condiment like ketchup, you could squeeze it.)

Place it in the box/bag with your favorite tarot/oracle deck and ask the deck to impart its wisdom upon the sigil.

Draw the sigil on the back of a photo of something the sigil is related to.

Hide the sigil in the background of an art project that follows a similar purpose or theme.

Fold the sigil paper a particular number of times while saying particular words.

Form the sigil on the ground out of dead leaves/sticks/debris you find outside. Allow it to disperse naturally. (This would be really cool on a beach.)

Trace the shape of the sigil in some incense smoke so that it curls around your finger/wand.

Burn the paper. (SAFELY.)

Give it to your favorite stuffie and ask the stuffie to guide your sigil towards its purpose and being activated, perhaps also watching over the manifestation itself.

Trace the sigil onto your skin using makeup/lotion/moonwater etc

Just cum on the dang thing. (Masturbation: a classic.)

Kept forgetting to show pics, but this was what my sister and I did for my birthday cake this year.

A lovely Arthur's mother's sigil, and the dragon Balinor carved for Merlin. Super proud of how both these turned out, the dragon's head particularly has so much detail, my sister really did well with that one, especially the ears!!!

And the sigil. I still have it, I haven't eaten it, the fondant is still okay, I almost wanna cast it in resin or something because look at it!!!!!! It's as close to the sigil as you can get with some grey fondant XD

To top it off, we got blue fondant to cover the cake because, ohhh I don't know, reminded me of water, of a lake, just seemed fitting for a merthur cake ;)

doing a lot of thinking about how scared sam was as a child

in the pilot we learn sam left hunting, not because he wanted normal but because he wanted safe.

in a draft of the pilot script, sam says he doesn't want to help dean find john because he "just stopped having nightmares" (obviously taken out because it would contradict later plot lines with sam having nightmares about jess dying but i wish they had replaced it with something similar because i think a lot less people would think of sam as selfish if we had got to hear it)

we also get this scene in 1x04

this is four episodes into the show! sam has been back in hunting for a month? maybe? and he is already having nightmares about the job again (and while dean tries to act tough, sam sees straight through him and knows that he's scared too)

hunting again is bringing back bad feelings that he thought he'd left behind but at this point, he is motivated to find his father and avenge jessica so he pushes through his fear, as a kid he didn't have these things to fuel him. he was just this sad lonely little child who was terrified out of his mind about all of the evil in the world that he should have been sheltered from!! terrified that his dad and his brother were going to be killed anytime they were out of his line of sight!!

in conclusion, i could've raised him, i could've kept him safe

A disease in which infected individuals become able to physically transform at will into an animal, usually a mammalian predator (wolf, bear, tiger, etc.). Infection occurs through either a deep bite wound or through the consumption of lycanthropic blood.

Infection is incredibly painful, and can be fatal to weaker individuals.

Individuals infected with lycanthropy gain immense speed and strength; experts estimate lycanthropes to be a Threat Level Eight. Approach with extreme caution. Effects of lycanthropy also include heightened agression, irratability, and violence.

A now defunct Bloodhunting Order, the Order of the Lycan, was said to purposefully infect initiated Hunters with lycanthropy as a means of increasing their hunting prowess. The Order collapsed due to unknown causes, likely as a result of the side effects of the disease.

 💫 Why Protection Magic Is Useful (even if you have no enemies)

A lot of witches will tell new witches (baby witches) that they should start by learning and using protection magic. However, I've started to see a lot of witches say that protection magic is not as important as other witches claim it to be. Saying that they don't have anyone coming after them or an enemy in real life to warrant a spell of protection.

I think this may also be due to how I've not personally come across anyone really explaining why a witch may want to use protection magic all the time.

Now, it is true that there's no need to be paranoid all the time and have protection up 24/7. But here's a list where you may use it, find it useful, or haven't thought protection magic could be included.

An actual person -- This one is obvious, you have an enemy in real life or on the internet and you need protection magic to protect you from their curses.

A malevolant spirit -- They can come from your windows, mirrors (including tv screens, computer screens, and other reflective surfaces maybe), they seep through floor cracks, hanging onto your coats from outside, etc. Just like how you'd use garden gloves to avoid dirt up your nails being trapped there. Protection magic is just like putting on those gloves.

An energy -- Say you have a neighbour who's arguing with someone. They're yelling and screaming and it can be heard through the apartment walls. That negative energy is seeping into your home and your energy. So it may be worth protecting your home and energy from that sour neighbour's energy. (ever been scolded by your mother and your mood is sour? it's kind of like the same here.)

Your own spell -- Now a self-love spell is probably not something you should protect yourself from. But let's say you're doing a curse. It would be a smart idea to make sure you're protected before beginning such a spell. Much like how you'd wear an apron to protect your clothes from stains when cooking food. You may not always spill your food when cooking, but damn it is it annoying when you do and the stain won't wash off. It's the same with a spell.

Unintentionally -- Sometimes things can happen that's out of our control and it's a good idea to be a little prepared. A black cat suddenly running across the street? Bad luck. Someone got jealous when you told them something good? Evil Eye. Think of it as going to the store with an extra bag for your groceries. You may not need it, but isn't it handy when you at one point do need it?

Protection magic doesn't have to be elaborate or grand or be convoluted. Protection magic is powerful but also extremely simple. All you need is a horseshoe above the door, a little talisman in your pocket, a sigil for your car, etc.

So don't dismiss the importance of protection magic. It may help to improve your spellwork and your energy.
