Nine Lines Nine People
I was tagged by the amazing @frostbitebakery (thank you ❤️)
So I’ve had A Day, and in my endless wisdom I decided that it made it the ideal time to fix Fox’s face after weeks of playing around with the idea of just scrapping the whole thing (and finally find a picture I liked to turn into Cody instead). I’m sure he has over 9 lines on his face. Also he is red the only thing that pulls me towards this guy which is always a plus.
Tagging (if you feel like it): @traumschwinge @manofbeskar @annettecheshir @battlekilt @justhereforeskel @shortmage @nautilicious @sidhebeingbrand @round--robin
#Wip game#my art#I promise I will catch up on my asks and mentions eventually as soon as I stop having A DayTM#I’m only trying Fox into shape because I don’t feel like doing a ton of lineart on greenery#and also because my Wip folder has grown very pathetic and sad and full of files with like 5 lines#that I haven’t touched in months ^^;#Clone portraits#Tem clones

tw - kidnapping, manipulation, mentions of physical abuse, and prolonged imprisonment.
You learn quickly that Nanami is significantly more bearable with he's playing house.
It should've been more obvious, in retrospect. If you hadn't been so terrified, so desperate not to fall into your captor's domestic delusions, you might've been more able to catch on more quickly, to realize how much softer he was when you treated him like a loving husband, rather than an obsessive stalker who had the nerve to roll his eyes when you asked if he had anything for you to wear that didn't involve bows and frills. You were slow on the uptake, but then again, he wasn't the kind of man who wore his heart on his sleeve.
His reactions weren't exactly more pronounced when your aggression started to fade, when you realized that he could barely take care of himself, let alone another person. You were skittish, eager to get in and out of the kitchen before he came home, and he was stoic, offering little more than a nod of his head and a muttered 'thank you' when he came home to find a bare-bones meal on the table or his constantly neglected apartment just a little cleaner. It took weeks for him to come to you directly; his suit jacket in one hand and spare button in the other. It should've only taken a minute to mend, but your hands shook so badly that it'd ended up taking ten. He watched over your shoulder all the while - smiling so softly, you'd been able to convince yourself that it was just your imagination.
You pretended that you didn't mind being with him, that the idea of being his stay-at-home hostage didn't make your skin crawl, and in exchange, he let you watch an hour of T.V. once a week, told you how your family and friends were dealing with your sudden disappearance. It wasn't a fair trade, but it was a trade - his domestic bliss for a handful of basic privileges, his happiness for the illusion of your freedom. When you can build up the courage, when you've recovered (or, recovered as much as you can, anyway) from the last time he bent you over his knee, you press for more. And sometimes, it works.
"I missed you," he mumbles, burying his face in the crook of your neck. His strong arms are wrapped around your waist, his posture hunched to accommodate the disparity between your heights, and you can feel warm breath on your skin, his deep voice reverberating against your throat.
"Welcome home," you say, because he doesn't like it when you lie and 'I missed you too' might've been the most dishonest thing you could've said. "You should sit down. I just started on dinner, and--"
You pause, cursing under your breath. Nanami is tired enough or kind enough to take the bait. "Make me a list." He pulls you that much closer before straightening his back and kissing your cheek. "I'll run to the store. It's the least I could do, for the only person who manages to keep my head on my shoulders."
You let a second of silence lapse between you, then another. "You know," you manage, eventually, just as Nanami starts to detangle himself from you. "Most couples spend as much time together as they can."
You can practically hear his smile. "You want to go shopping with me?"
"...am I allowed to?"
"Of course." He says it like he hadn't kidnapped you. Like he hadn't kept you locked in his sterile apartment for the better part of a year. Like he hadn't taken you by the neck and promised he'd be the only man to ever touch you again every time you questioned his intentions.
There's another kiss, this one to the corner of your jaw. Just when you think your heart might beat out of your chest, he adds, "As soon as hell freezes over and curses go extinct, I'll take you wherever you want."
You might've cried, if you didn't know how much he loved wiping away your tears.
Sometimes, it works.
Most of the time, though, he chooses to remind you whose game you're playing.

JOHN PRICE
… sees you cry and praises.
if john could see your eyes right now, he’d tell you not to be embarrassed. would probably coo at you like a prized horse. ask you what was wrong, and if there was anything he could do to help.
problem was, you weren’t sure what it was you were crying over - the bite of wood against your skin, or john’s tongue between your thighs.
both were agonizing in their own ways. both BURNED with something that hurt too good to admit. both demanded your attention, but as always, john eventually won the fight for it. the tiny little scrapes and bumps caused by the old wood of his desk had started to numb when the tears came. john’s fingers pushing into your cunt acted as a sort of balm. you couldn’t feel anything but him.
his broad shoulders had kept your legs spread for far too long at this point, so they eventually began to ache too. they tremble and quake around john’s shoulders. you know he feels it, and thinks it’s because of his tongue and fingers.
he’s not far from the truth.
and just as soon as john’s eyes shoot up, you’re throwing your head back. eyes squeezing shut, shuddering breath disguised behind a moan, hoping to just cum on his mouth and he doesn’t have to know he caused the tears that seem to burn your eyes. he’s kept you on the edge for so long, it wouldn’t be hard to simply focus on his tongue and let go.
there’s a burn behind your eyelids. more tears form when his fingers curl and his tongue flicks a certain way.
“john,” you breathe out, ending his name with a pant. “it’s… i-”
“look at me, love.”
it was an order. plain and clear. your head snaps up immediately, finding his half-illuminated eyes in the lowlight of his office. dark hair looking raven black, eyes blown up to match - but even then, you see them LIGHT up with amusement. even in shitty lighting, john catches the glimmer of tears. right on the edge of falling down your pretty cheeks - you probably don’t even notice. it only makes him harder.
he laughs in a low rumble. “so fucking pretty, aren’tcha?”
you nod; panting, writhing, crying.
john leans his head in closer, pushing in his fingers as far as they’ll go. “pretty girl gonna cum for me? all sweet and tight around my fingers? keep watching me, love - gonna cum now? yeah, go right ahead, dove. you more than DESERVE it.”
the orgasm hits like a truck when john grinds his tongue against your clit. just before your eyes squeeze shut again, a tear finally breaks free and glides down your cheek - warm and flushed from a climax that he’s sure someone must’ve heard.
john has always promised he’d never make you cry, but this is a damn good exception.
☾
KYLE 'GAZ' GARRICK
… sees you cry and dotes.
gaz has always gone on and on about how much he wants to keep you separate from his work. to leave all the roughness behind when he’s with you. it was never really a problem until tonight - sweet and gentle and slow to a fault.
too sweet. too gentle. too slow.
kyle is careful to keep a STEADY pace - a careful rock of his hips, lightly grinding against yours when he’s pressed in deep, making you feel each and every inch of him before gradually pulling out to do when same thing over again. and you know he doesn’t do things without an express purpose - after extending your orgasm a few times, it’s safe to say that your safety isn’t the top priority for once.
he hasn’t gone much faster than this languid pace. selfishly listening to your stunted breaths and pained whimpers of his name.
if you ask him to go faster, gaz slows down. if you beg for something harder, he smiles and kisses you and tells you to be patient.
but what has all this patience gotten you? two incredibly drawn out orgasms that fucking ACHED when they hit and kyle stubbornly keeping his thrusts slow and torturous under his guise of being gentle. it’s all a little too much. too intense. your eyes squeeze shut, face nestled against kyle’s neck, hips shifting up when he buries his cock in to try and grind out another orgasm.
unfortunately, gaz knows you. knows your movements and knows your sounds - the shortening of your breaths and desperate whimpers and choked moans and… sniffles?
his pulls his head up immediately, eyes narrowing in on the tears pricking the corners of your eyes. and gaz grins - he can’t help against it. his cock pulses when a finger comes up to brush a tear away before it has a chance to fall down your face.
“poor baby,” he coos. if you weren’t so wound up, you might’ve noticed how tight his voice sounds. “it’s alright. doing so well for me. gonna make you cum again, don’t you worry. just hang in there, yeah?” his words are breathed against your lips, and by some miracle, gaz picks up the pace. hips picking up speed, even rocking a little stronger and it isn’t until you heard the slap of skin do you truly realize how SOAKED he got you.
the initial tears were caused by kyle’s torturous pace. a new set follows the old when he finally fucks you properly. gaz doesn’t mind - he likes wiping them away.
☾
JOHNNY 'SOAP' MACTAVISH
… sees you cry and teases.
“why’re you crying, bonnie? did you hurt your feelings or something?”
soap knows you won’t respond. not that you could.
the pace of his thrusts are too rough. too quick. too deep. using all his weight to slam into you again and again, not letting up for a moment. the worst part is, you know he has the stamina to keep going, even if you beg him to slow down. to let you breathe air that doesn’t taste like him.
your nails dig into the skin of soap’s chest as you shake your head. everything ached in a delicious way but it wasn’t your feelings that were hurt. soap moves his hand from his bruising grip on your hips to clasp around your jaw, shifting your head to look him straight on. he wants you looking at him, even through WATERY eyes.
soap grunts as he shifts into a better position to fuck you in. his hair is mussed from your fingers. skin blotchy and flushed from exertion. he still grins at you. “then why’re you crying? want me to stop? is that it?”
“no!” you cry out - half a moan and half a shout.
a thoughtful hum vibrates against his ribs as soap’s fingers release your jaw, only to come up and wipe away a tear that leaked from the corner of your eye. “ahh, i get it, lass,” he breathes out, continuing his rough thrusts with a deep groan. “you’re cryin’ so pretty ‘cause you like getting fucked so good. am i right? my girl loves getting fucked ‘till she cries?”
you’re silent. eyes falling shut, mouth agape, head tilting back to ignore soap’s teases and just feel the addicting slide of his cock. he slows his thrusts only to grind against your pelvis and it’s such a massive difference in sensation that you nearly cum on the spot. it works to make you cry out his name.
“fuck- johnny!” and you do. so, so prettily.
☾
SIMON 'GHOST' RILEY
… sees you cry and worries.
simon’s face still hurt - a spot right over his cheekbone, purple and swollen and it aches almost enough to make him forget about how sore the rest of his body is.
it’s easy enough to ignore. it’s not liquor or ibuprofen that dulls the pain. his old methods of healing after a rough mission seem useless in the wake of pressing you back on the couch. it’s the touch of your skin, the smell of your hair, the noises you make that really pull him back together. you’re careful not to tug at him too hard or touch any of his TENDER aches, even when he begs you to.
yeah. it’s easy for simon to forget how close he was to not be here fucking you.
his fingers dig into the armrest of the couch, forcing his throbbing body to move as fast as he wants it to. an impromptu fuck on the couch wasn’t exactly planned tonight - you went on and on about how much you wanted to take care of him. but you’ve been clinging to him all night. never letting him out of your sight. it was just a natural progression and simon sure as shit wasn’t complaining.
“fuck, lovie,” he groans out slowly. if you keep moving your hips like that, he’s not gonna last much longer.
and fuck, simon was so close, he could taste it. feel it building in the base of his spine and how tight his stomach gets and it all makes it a little easier to forgo his aches to simply drive into you again and again. your arms wrap around his torso, brushing against tender ribs - when simon hisses, he’s unsure if it’s the pain or the sudden tightness around his cock when you jolt. simon’s mind goes blank and he’s just so fucking close and…
you make a new noise. unfamiliar to the ones simon has memorized when he’s fucking you. his eyes are HAZY and unfocused when he looks at you, and he didn’t quite know what he expected to find. tears accompanied the sniffle he heard, and your hand comes up to wipe them away in haste.
simon’s hips freeze instantly. “hey, hey, hey. what’s wrong? you okay?”
fuck, did he do something wrong?
to his surprise, you scoff. smiling despite wet cheeks and red eyes and simon blames his impending orgasm for how slow he is to understand. “i’m okay,” you reassure him. when your fingers trail up his spine, simon can barely breathe. “i just love you so much. don’t be so RECKLESS next time, okay?”
your legs tighten their hold around his hips. pulling him closer even when simon wants to pull back and really make sure you’re okay. you don’t allow it, instead grinding up against him at the same pace he’d been fucking you in - still sniffling and wiping a tear away on his arm.
simon swears he’s never cum so hard in his life.
☾
ALEJANDRO VARGAS
… sees you cry and stares.
morning has always been alejandro’s favorite time of day.
pinkish gold sunlight coming in through the window promises a beautiful day that he’ll likely be too busy to truly enjoy but welcomes all the same. alejandro hears the bustle of traffic outside - your place isn’t nearly as nice as his, but it’s closer to base and he’s never been known to waste time with you. alejandro is just a little tempted to rip his gaze away from you to enjoy the sunrise coming over las almas.
but he doesn’t. he never does. you’re just too fucking pretty.
alejandro kills two birds with one stone. pulls you out of bed and leads you over to the window just as the sun paints the clouds a deep gold. it saturates your skin in such a perfect way where alejandro can’t help but to touch it. touch your face, your neck, your shoulders, your back, your stomach, and well, he knows your pussy would look fucking HEAVENLY under the light as well.
“pretty fucking girl,” alejandro groans out. he usually likes watching his cock sink inside of you, but there was something about the glow of your skin pressed against the window that makes him just stare at your face. his thrusts are slow and deep, and your breath fogs up the glass, and you keep tugging your shirt down when alejandro pushes it up because you’re the one who has to face your neighbors every day.
when you came along, he didn’t think there could ever be a more beautiful sight than when you first smiled at him.
you proved him wrong with just a few tears reflecting the sunrise.
alejandro could’ve came right then and there. his hips did a little stutter and he grunted when you let out a little whimper while squeezing your eyes shut and he just watched a tear glide over your cheek. he almost pulls you away from the window to flip you around. fully face him so the glass doesn’t GREEDILY soak up all your tears because he’s fucking you so firmly against it.
“al- alejan- fuck, i’m so…”
“i know, baby. keep looking at me. yeah, lemme see those eyes. fuck…”
he kisses you. has a hand tangled into your hair and twists your neck into a better angle and kisses you to taste the salt on your lips and it’s like a bomb went off. alejandro’s hips pick up their pace and you rock back against him and fog up the glass even more when you shudder on his cock.
he cums with your tears wiping off against his own cheeks and salt on his tongue.
☾
RUDOLFO PARRA
… is the one to cry.
“it’s okay, rudy. doing so good for me. i’m almost there, you don’t have to cry.”
was he crying? fuck, he was. rudy didn’t even notice until you smiled at him fondly, bringing a hand up to brush away a tear that broke past his lashes and threatened to fall down his face.
rudy waits for the hot flash of embarrassment to hit him, but it never does. maybe it’s because this is you. but it's more likely because he’s so fucking close to cumming, he can’t focus on anything else but you. keeping his hands locked around your hips, strong enough to keep them moving back and forth even when you try to slow them down and draw out his orgasm.
you hadn’t even notice rudy’s big, wet eyes until you attempted to slow down. keeping a more steady pace in his lap to give your thighs a rest, and yeah, to wind rudy up just a little. he works so hard. he DESERVES to get fucked out of his mind now and then.
maybe you went too far, though. when you try to stall your hips, his hands make sure they keep their pace. his own hips buck up off the bed to get even deeper.
“i know you wanna cum.” it’s difficult to keep your voice steady. to not devolve into harsh pants and groans like he has. “but not before me, okay? make me cum, rudy. fuck, make me cum…”
he huffs - such a large demand for someone so fucked-stupid. rudy is so smart, so capable, and so fucking useless right now that maybe it’s too much to ask of him. so to help him out, you pry his hand off your hip. bring it up to your mouth and slide the whole length of his thumb between your lips, letting it glide across your tongue.
rudy instantly gasps and his hips jolt up. you can feel his cock throb even harder inside of you.
but with his thumb coated in saliva, you bring his hand down to where you meet. rudy takes it from there - give him a task, point him in the right direction, and he’ll complete it. he rubs his thumb in tight, DESPERATE circles while his other hand keep your hips in a deep grinding pace until you cum all over him.
it was good. fucking fantastic. but not your favorite part.
rudy knows he’s finally allowed to cum, and he does. so achingly beautiful in the way his jaw drops open, saliva stringing between his teeth. eyes hazy and wet with damp cheeks and a pink nose and when he groans, his voice is hoarse and choked.
eventually, when you fall against his chest, all you hear are rudy’s hard panting and his sniffles.
☾
PHILLIP GRAVES
… sees you cry and laughs.
graves can be a real asshole sometimes. sarcastic, arrogant, and you know him well enough to know that he kinda likes it. makes him feel larger than life. untouchable. now is no different.
“c’mon, hun. i wanna hear it. y’can’t cum until i hear you say it.”
your arms are thrown over your face, hiding the way your teeth grit together and your eyes screw shut and how your jaw hangs open to gasp for air whenever graves bullies his cock even deeper with each thrust. and to be honest, you barely heard what he said - it was all just white noise. still, you know what he wants. and you’re a little too PROUD to give in.
there’s silence. graves scoffs and you feel him lean forward to grip your arms in his hands. being ripped away from your face reveals a little tremble of your lips, tiny red splotches on your cheeks, and tears lining your eyes.
graves laughs as if it isn’t his fault. torturing you and playing with you. resetting the goalpost of what you need to do to cum.
the laugh is deep and GENUINE - the kind you’re treated with in the middle of the night away from his shadows, saved especially for you. the grin that accompanies it isn’t bad either. but the laugh is like a slap to the face (something graves might’ve inflicted if his hands were free - after all, you haven’t said your safe word.)
“my poor baby.” he says it so condescendingly. with a quirk of his brow and tilt of his head. as if he and his cock hadn’t caused the tears. “bet it’s gettin’ painful, huh? bet a good orgasm will make you feel right as rain.”
you slowly nod because god, you need to cum.
so graves hums, still wearing a smirk as he shifts on his knees. you whimper under the movement, spine arching, eyes solely focused on him. “then you gotta ask permission, right? c’mon, hun. sound off for me. i know you can do it,” he encourages while his fingers trail slowly down your body. going straight where you needed him the most.
normally, if you weren’t so wound up, you might’ve gotten smart with him. but as extra initiative, graves bends his spine a little. pushing his cock in just a little deeper and plainly getting off on how you gasp and your eyes finally push out hot, wet tears.
this has gone on for too long. everything from your pussy down is throbbing.
“shadow 0-1…”
“hearin’ you loud and clear, baby.”
“requesting permission to cum…”

abstract -> two hybrids... bonded were now separated, it could harm them both
y/n's perspective
It's officially been a year since I’ve had Wooyoung and San. He’s been getting better, but his memories are still hazy, even when he was in the ring. It wasn’t until that one day that he confessed that losing a few memories doesn’t seem like a bad thing, and he accepted it.
He’s no longer scared of the elevator bell, still doesn’t like being around other hybrids, but doesn’t mind going out anymore. Doesn’t prefer crowded areas but is happy with his life.
He’s… happier. Obliviousness is sometimes a blessing.
He’s shown Wooyoung more love than before and even towards Yeosang. He even teases Seonghwa a lot, whilst he at first hated Hongjoong now follows his every order. He’s changed since I've had him and if he was happy that's all that mattered.
I wanted to fulfill my promise to make him happy even if he doesn’t remember it.
“Stop eating like pigs!” Seonghwa scolded and I chuckled since we were finishing up on dessert. “You have chocolate all over your face,” Hongjoong teased and I smiled.
The two were the oldest and so were very attentive despite only being with us for three months. They cared a lot and adjusted well, while Yeosang too was better than how he was. He was no longer scared of eating food and accepted presents without wanting to pay them back in return.
I could’ve never believed in having five hybrids let alone one last year but… I was glad that I adopted San that day. It brought me more happiness than ever before.
“Here is your receipt ma'am I hope you had a lovely dinner. I would also advise you to be careful there's been pick-pockets recently stealing wallets and cash” the waitress said and left. That was still going on huh?
“Here you go Angel” I heard and noticed Yeosang holding my coat. “Thanks, Yeosang,” I said as he helped me put it on. “They seem very happy,” he said and I chuckled as I saw Seonghwa wiping their faces from the chocolate dessert they ate. “Yeah, yours is next,” I said and he smiled.
I could hear San and Wooyoung already planning what they want next year, making me happy how excited they got for little things. “Ooh! Hongjoong we should do a Barbeque!” Seonghwa said excitedly. “Hmm? Maybe we should do that for me!” Yeosang said and I laughed at their rivalry. Yeosang walked ahead towards the two and Seonghwa only glared at his head.
“Don’t worry, I know for a fact he’d ask for fried chicken in the apartment, '' I said and he chuckled. “Makes sense, he doesn’t like leaving home either way” Seonghwa said and I nod. Hongjoong was by my side acting as my bodyguard as the three other hybrids were walking ahead. “I can’t believe it's been three months already,” Hongjoong said and I nodded. It's been two months since our incident but everyone has grown from that.
“SOMEONE STOP HIM!” I heard a familiar yell. I noticed a man now stop panting in front of us. “Shotaro?” I ask and he looks up to see me. “Ah, y/n… give.. me… a minute” he said out of breath. “You… and all your hybrids, you look scary” he said out of breath and I let out a chuckle before worrying for him. “What happened, are you okay?” I asked and he nodded but quickly bactracked. “Actually no, I got robbed!” he yelled, frustrated.
“Oh, the infamous pick-pocket?” I sighed and he nodded. “Apparently, Doyoung has even lost money. Didn’t you lose your wallet?” he asked and I shook my head. “Just 200,” I said. “What?” Yeosang said confused and I forgot only Hongjoong knew.
“I smell a dog hybrid,” San said and Shotaro looked more confused. “A hybrid stole from me? I better tell Kun about this soon” he said, still catching his breath. “How long have you been running, the shop is far from here?” I asked and he scoffed. “Too long, and now I've lost them,” he said and I sighed. “You’re going to have to report everything” I said and he nodded. “I’ll tell Taeyong-hyung about this tonight” he said but he still looked irritated.
“You should go home, it's getting pretty late. You at least have a pack of hybrids to protect you” he said and I nod knowing I was okay. “You should go back to shop, be careful” I said and he nodded as he waved.
“When did you lose money?” Wooyoung asked and I sighed. “It was the first time for the circus hybrid interviews and then the second when I got out of the hospital” I said and they all deflated. I smiled, “Don’t worry it's fine, they probably need it more than me” I said and they didn’t say anything.
“Come on, let's go home!”
yunho’s perspective
“Woah! A hundred! We haven’t gone this much in a while” Mingi said, happy to have increased funds. We haven’t found that since… that one girl. It still made me sick how I had to rob her while she was so… lost. “She’s been showing up with that tiger though” he pouted. “She has five hybrids so be careful, and don’t rob her,” I said and he nodded.
I would sometimes see the different hybrids… a panther showed up once. A Doberman would show up rarely, while a fox was very hyperactive meaning he was one of the ones commonly accompanying her. Whilst there were two tigers… the orange tiger was always with her by her side and he would always glare at me. He knew…
“Do you think we can eat a good meal tomorrow?” he asked and I chuckled. “Hmm? What are you thinking?” I asked and he grinned. “Ramyeon!” he said excitedly.
“Guess, we’ll finally eat some food at a convenience store!”
We were picking out cheap brands of snacks that would hopefully last us a while. It wasn’t until I turned the corner to see her… I quickly turned around hiding in a different aisle. Mingi walked in front of me when I grabbed him.
“Don’t go over there” I said and he looked confused while speaking but I flicked his forehead. “Ow! Hey, it's–" "No,” I said and he scoffed “Come on, she’s alone” he begged and I shook my head.
“y/n you’re a lifesaver! I swear I'll pay you back” I heard… that voice sounded familiar. “Hey don’t worry about it! It's not your fault you got robbed” she said… that was the boy we robbed off of yesterday.
“M-Mingi we have to leave… now… Mingi?” I said and looked at where he was. Where did he go? I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder scared but it was him… holding her wallet.
“Give it back,” I said, feeling my heart stop. “What? No–'' “Mingi threw it on the floor or something was leaving,” I said and he didn’t want to. “Huh? I don’t have my wallet?” she said and I started putting things away randomly not caring if it didn’t belong. “Sir! Someone robbed her!” I heard. “We’re leaving!” I said as I tried rushing him but we were stopped by security.
“There's a thief in the store so can you please–” I pushed my out with Mingi while we ran. When I thought we escaped, I stopped as we caught our breath.
“A hybrid thief sounds like the start of a bad kid’s story” I heard and I looked behind me… the tiny tiger. “Give it back,” he said with a handout and I looked at Mingi who didn’t budge. He was a wolf hybrid and in theory he looked intimidating but he wasn’t… despite his size, he was the runt of his litter, and he couldn’t fight. I couldn’t either… but the tiger was so small. What harm could he do? Right?
“I’m not gonna ask again,” he said as I saw his claws get bigger.
“Yunho we can take him,” Mingi whispered but I wasn’t so sure. Something told me no… he was getting closer when I saw a familiar figure. “Hongjoong!” she said as he seemed to calm down immediately even retracting his claws “Hey! Thieves!!!” the boy we robbed yesterday yelled.
“Huh? You’re the guy who always…” she said almost in a disappointed tone… if it wasn’t for my hat I would’ve surely looked like a kicked puppy.
“He has your wallet,” Hongjoong told her and her eyes widened… “Every time you talked to me wasn’t because you were comforting me… you stole from me each time” she said and I didn’t know what to say. I couldn’t defend myself since it was true… we did steal from her.
“That’s what I get for trusting a stranger…” she muttered as I saw the tiger go to her side and rub her back trying to comfort her…
“I want my wallet back!” the boy yelled and I looked at Mingi who looked frozen. “Give it back…” I muttered and he took out the two wallets. “Yunho I’m sorry, this was my fault,” he said and gave me her wallet which I wanted to hand to her but the tiger got it instead.
“Kun is coming soon,” the boy said and I was confused… who was that?
“I'm sorry… I did try helping you” I ended up saying but she didn’t look at me. I was jealous of the tiger. She cares for her hybrids… I see her every time she walks down this street with a hybrid… Most people collected them but she didn’t seem to be doing that. She loved them… why wasn’t I that lucky?
It was a weird combination too… two tigers, a panther, a fox, and another dog. I felt most jealous of that dog…
“Why can’t we run?” Mingi whispered and I knew the two were waiting for whoever Kun was… “I don’t know… we’re caught red-handed Mingi. It’s over” I said and he shook his head. “No, it can’t be,” Mingi said as he stood up. “Look we’re sorry… we need to leave now,” Mingi said but the tiger… Hongjoong growled at the wolf hybrid. “Hongjoong don’t,” the girl said to her hybrid but the tiger scoffed. He went back to her side and before Mingi could do anything I heard sirens.
“Yunho? Hybrid control… I don’t wanna go back to them” he said and I shook my head.
“I don’t either… I’m sorry Mingi I failed you”
y/n’s perspective
“He comforted me when my hybrids were in here… I know I didn’t know him but it feels a little bit like betrayal” I confessed and Kun nodded. “I know, both hybrids are code green. They have owners coming to pick them up soon,” he said and I nodded.
“Why would they run away, though?” I pondered and he shrugged. “If I find any type of mistreatment then I won’t allow them to take them. However, we can’t assume the worst” he said and I nodded.
“Kun, the owners are here” I heard Haechan say from the door. “Yah! You two are eating lunch without me?” he pouted and I chuckled.
“Haechan you took a thirty-minute break already… also it's supposed to be fifteen.” he scolded and the young boy laughed it off “y/n you might also want to come,” he said with a worried tone… I followed him outside to see a couple and their two kids.
“Do tricks for us, tiger!” I heard the kids yell and I saw Hongjoong clearly uncomfortable… “Joong, come here,” I said as he was now behind me.
Hongjoon definitely had some triggers, being told to do tricks was definitely one of them. Being recognized as a whole makes him quite anxious.
“Oh, come on. Let the hybrid do some tricks” a woman asked and I chuckled awkwardly. “I’m sorry, but he doesn’t do this–” “I didn’t ask, darling. My kids want to play with him so I said let the hybrid do some tricks,” she said rather rudely and I scoffed.
“And who are you to tell me what to do? May I remind you that your two hybrids ran away?! They robbed me!” I yelled and she scoffed.
“What did you have? A twenty?” she joked and I glared. “More like two hundred” I muttered and she laughed. “Two hundred is nothing here,” she said as she grabbed her husband’s wallet and handed me two hundred dollars and I scoffed.
“I don’t want your pathetic money,” I said and she glared. She instead threw the money at me and laughed. “You look like you need it,” she said, and before I could say anything–
“Yuyu!!” I heard the children yell at the hybrid. I saw the golden retriever hybrid look at his owner fearfully and nervously. The wolf hybrid also stared at the ground…
“Are you okay?” I asked my tiger as I put my hands over Hongjoong's who gripped my hips. He nodded softly as he got closer and hugged me, trying to comfort himself. I could only pet his head as he hugged me.
“We only wanted, Yunho” I heard the lady say. “Please” I heard Yunho plead. “Who are you to ask for things? You ran away, you’ll be punished. Look doctor, Mingi is a violent hybrid he shouldn't even be a code green” she said making me scoff.
I saw the kids pull on Yunho’s tail while the hybrid could only look at his companion. Was that why they ran away? They were being separated?
“You want to revoke ownership?” Kun asked and she nodded and soon looked at me. “How much for your tiger?” she asked and I scoffed. “You aren’t getting him,” I said and she smiled. “Honey, don’t you think he’ll give the kids such a good time?” she asked as the husband now looked at Hongjoong who tried his best to hide behind me.
“I can offer a hundred thousand?” he asked and I scoffed. “No,” I said and the wife’s eyes widened. “Oh please. Don’t you need the money?” she asked and I scoffed. “Look at his collar?” I heard the man whisper and the lady rolled her eyes.
“Why does a stupid tacky collar matter at this moment?”
“His collar is a custom design. It costs a hundred thousand” I said and her eyes widened for a bit before rolling her eyes. “And how did you afford that? A kid like you can’t afford that without… selli–" "My name is y/n l/n '' I said and their eyes widened. “As in the daughter of the CEO?” the husband muttered and I smiled softly. “Yes, you wanna try again?” I asked and before the wife could say anything the man bowed.
“I’m sorry, I didn–” “I want both of you to apologize to my hybrid,” I said and they looked at each other. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you,” the husband said while the wife refused.
“I-I work with your parents you know?” he said and I laughed. “Maybe I’ll tell him to stop, come on Hongjoong. Bye Kun I hope they don’t cause too much trouble, if they do you have my number” I said as I left Hongjoong. I may not have the best nor closest relationship with my parents but I doubt they’d let their reputation hit a low if they heard that his wife was implying I sell–
“Thank you,” he said and I smiled. “I’d never let anyone treat any of you like that… I just feel bad for the two. They’re gonna be separated. You saw how desperate they were.” I said and he sighed clearly upset.
“I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if you decided to only adopt Seonghwa… even though I did ask you too,” Hongjoong confessed and I smiled.
“You’ll never be separated from him”
hongjoong's perspective
I felt pathetic hiding behind her… but she did defend me. I guess this is how Yeosang feels about his ex-owner. We finally went back to the apartment when I saw the familiar orange-eared fox tackle y/n in a hug. “I missed you!! You said it’d be fast!! Why’d you take hours!” he yelled and pouted.
“Angel!” I heard as I saw the familiar pointy-eared hybrid.
“Is everything okay?” I heard as I saw Seonghwa… he looked at me worriedly. “Hmm? What is the tiny tiger upset about?” San said and I looked down. “Don’t tease him… Hongjoong don’t think about it too much okay? You did amazing today, thank you for saving me and my wallet” she said with a smile and I nodded.
“What happened?” “It's a long story”
y/n’s perspective
“Maybe the two hybrids ran away because they were gonna be separated,” Wooyoung suggested and I think he was right.
I saw how Hongjoong was being comforted by Seonghwa. The two got told to do circus tricks often… especially by kids and families when they were recognized.
“Or they had snobby owners” Yeosang muttered and I sighed. “Even if that’s the case I already called my parents to not work with them anymore and even told Chenle to spread the word,” I said and Yeosang laughed.
“So what’ll happen to them?” San asked and I shrugged. “I guess they’ll retire early?” I said and the hybrids all laughed even though I did mean it.
I wasn’t gonna let them treat Hongjoong that way… not when he’s currently beating himself up for it and being comforted by his longest companion.
“You should’ve taken the two hundred dollars back” Wooyoung suggested and I scoffed.
“Trust me they'll need that money more than me,” I said and he chuckled. “Come on, we should eat before everything gets cold, '' Wooyoung said as everyone slowly went to the kitchen.
I looped my arm around Hongjoong’s side who smiled softly at me.
“Don’t worry, okay? I know you all want to protect me and you did! You got my wallet back and in return, I’ll protect you from people like that” I promised and I offered him a smile and kissed my head.
“Thank you, I’m lucky to have you”

Rody, Vincent // Thoughts on S/O
Notes// I've got these random brainrots like, if reader has to play this game connected to the deadplate game in the pov of a journalist to solve some kind of case related to Manon's disappearance-- so Rody and Vincent would be having npcs with extra dialogue lines that talk about their s/o(Y/N, not manon). The other idea of us playing in the pov as the s/o(separate) would be interesting too.
Rody//
•NPC!Rody can be seen walking and catering patrons with a friendly smile. He was wearing roller skates as he often has his hands busy with dish plates during his work shift.
•If you stay long enough to shift restaurant, there is a chance he would stutter his performance a bit as his arms tremble to keep the plates from not falling in his hands.
•When talking to him, his speech is usually rush as he has to shift from one corner of the restaurant to the other, his eyes everywhere as he rambles on yet keeping a friendly aura through his firm smile.
•"Hello- welcome to La Gueule le Saturne! Allow me to guide you to the right table. "
•"Yes? Please stay seated for the mean time, I'll be right back with you soon!"
•"Would you like to order?"
•(asked about S/O) "Oh- Oh? My lover?" *sheepish smile with a goofy blush suddenly* "They're doing great." *easily goes back to work*
•Whether as a coworker or customer, one thing clear is that when you're a bit closer enough, you eventually get to know his S/O's name.
•"We can talk later!"
•"What's up? Need a hand?"
•"Uh--- can you take care of the other tables? Thanks!"
•"mmm... I wonder what kinds of flowers should I give for Y/N this time?" *dozing off in the kitchen for a moment *
•(When asked about S/O) "Y/N are at home, and they are taking care of our apartment.. If only i can convince them to not move a finger.. God, they're so wonderful-- Oh, excuse me." *catches almost getting too deep into the topic before trying to quickly go back to work*
Internal Thoughts//
I love Y/N... I must work hard for them. Without them, I'll be nothing... So I have to do more than my best to give them the love and care they need! I must please them. I must serve them... Well, even if it's too much.. I'm willing to give them everything... my everything.
I promise them a brighter future... where we don't have to worry about money and bills. I just need to earn and save more.
This journalist keeps coming over pretty often--- I wonder what they are looking for? Why are they so curious of my honey? I need to keep S/O safe from unwanted attention - I'll just try and answer briefly as possible.
___
Vincent//
•Usually you'll see NPC!Vincent in the corner watching the cooks work to check for perfection. No matter how early you are, it's already clear that he's the boss. The one who is the first person to open the restaurant
•Day 4, you can find him walking to the dumpster area to smoke in his break.
•When interacting with him. He'll show a polite, charismatic persona when talking to you as a visitor or patron.
•"Good day, what may I help you..?" *fake smile*
•"Hello, are there any problems with a dish you have ordered? We can try and fix something to recompensate it."
•"Looking for me...?"
•"Oh- may I ask what you are doing here, Monsieur/Mademoiselle? Rody should have informed me about you coming here -"
• (When asked about S/O) "Mm... About my fiancé? They're doing well, thank you for asking." *maintaing a fake smile*
•If you happened to end up working for him as a waiter or cook, his demeanor would probably be a different story.
•"..."
•"What do you need?"
•"......"
•"Why are you still here? You better not try chit-chats on me."
•"...What?"
•(When asked about s/o) "S/O? They're at work. Any business with them? I can let them know on your behalf with anything you need to inform later. Just go back to work."
Internal Thoughts//
I keep mentioning Y/N as "my fiancé " through the press and the public. In reality, We're not officially engaged, but I like the sound of it, and i do it so no one can bother to make advancements on me - I need to be seen as... royally taken.
The journalist keeps asking questions to me... even having the audacity to press on matters related to my Y/N. If they know what really happened to Manon, I must make a backup plan...
And do not fret, mon cher. I'll soon place a real ring on that pretty finger on yours... Once the evidence needs to be rid of from anyone's reach.

Dark!Tom (The Party 2017) x ExWife!Reader
Word Count: +3,234

Author's note(s): I wanted to post this before my trip. Idk if I want to make this into a 2 part series maybe if its good than ye 😃
You run into your soon-to-be ex-husband at a friend's party. He's determined to get a second chance. But some things never change.
You met Tom in college. Both of you were part of the same friend group and would see each other often. He was persistent in pursuing you. Eventually mustering up the courage to ask you out. You said yes because you fell for him first. But it was Tom who fell harder. He was your first love, first kiss, first everything. After a year of dating, he finally pops the question. Everything seemed to be going fine at first.
That was almost a decade ago. He's not the same man you fell in love with. Something inside him changed. There were times where you were unsure whether it was the drugs talking or how he truly felt. He would try to hide it but failed miserably. You can't remember how many times you've found his stash, which always resulted in an argument. You were sick of his excuses. It eventually got worse with his intake. He would arrive home half sober. You were sick of seeing him waste away like this. You remember finally deciding that enough was enough.
After catching him at home for the fifth time, you decide to take action into your own hands. In a fit of anger, you retrieve his hidden stash and flush it down the toilet. When Tom found out his reaction wasn't what you had predicted. Not at all. He dragged you to the bathroom and demanded to know where his supply went. It was the first time he'd ever laid his hands on you. Instead of apologizing for bringing them home, Tom held you in a chokehold until you told him where they were.
Never in your life would you imagine Tom of all people reacting in such a way. When you finally confess what had happened, he loses his temper. It terrified you how strong he became while under the influence. You were no match for his drug-fueled rage. Your wrist is still sore from how he held you down last week. There were bruises that were still healing for all the times before. But this one had been the worst punishment yet. He left you there on the bathroom floor, naked and sore. Tom hadn't bothered to look your way. He zips up his pants before leaving in search of his next 'fix'.
That wasn't the first time he put his hands on you, but it was the first time you had left him. You received a string of desperate phone calls, voicemails, text messages all from Tom. You returned home to find him on his knees with a bouquet in hand and tears in his eyes. He apologized and promised to be a better man for you. That was shortly lived. When you arrived home from a late shift, you caught Tom using it again. This time it was different, you found Tom overdosing. You lunged towards him, "Tom?! Tom!" cradling his head in your hands, holding him close. It was the first time you've caught him. A part of you feared this wouldn't be the last.
Tom had tried to make it up with sex, but you couldn't be around him anymore. You felt almost revolted how he didn't care. Having him around only reminds you of the pain. This time instead of throwing a fit, yelling, or crying. You simply packed all your things and left. What could you do with a man who refuses to change? Leave. You left for your mother's place, finally accepting that it wasn't your fault.
The divorce papers were mailed to him. For a while now, Tom knew there was something wrong with him. He was just too stubborn to admit it. You'd spoken with a lawyer and there was a court date issued. In a few months from now, you will no longer be referred to as husband and wife.
For the first time in years, you've finally let the feeling of guilt go. No longer were you going to let this define who you were. You weren't a failure as a wife. Because it was never your fault in the first place. Soon enough you were doing the things you loved again, even began to pick up a few new hobbies. That spark of joy began to return. You started dressing up in nicer clothes, going out, actually spending quality time with friends and family.
Sometimes there would be a moment when you'd feel for Tom and wonder what he'd be up to. But then again did you really want to know? It would usually be the same thing, him being higher than a kite. Still, you couldn't help but mourn at the loss of your marriage. When you were young and promised to love each other until your very last breath. You still loved Tom, but he loved other things more.
You were looking forward to your old college friend's New Year's party. A healthy dosage of socializing to get you out there again. You had the opportunity to catch up with everyone there. It felt as though no time had passed. You danced around, joined in some games, things were going well. But there was a lingering feeling that someone, somewhere was staring at you.
That's when you spot him, Tom, sitting quietly at the end of the room. Your breath hitches at the sight of him twiddling his thumbs. There's a part of you that regrets not filing a restraining order. Tom always had a habit of showing up unannounced. You weren't in the mood for whatever he had to say. So, you left his sight, down the hall, to the nearest restroom.
You sat on the counter, removing your heels for a moment. A groan escapes your lips as you rub both feet, knowing very well they would ache in the morning. Shit, you were really gonna feel that. You splash your face a few times, hoping that it would combat the summer heat. Completely unaware of the sound of the door opening. It was as if you knew who was behind you, turning around to find Tom leaning against the door. You gave him a glare, "Get out," you were in no mood for his emotional ambush. He ignores your request and calmly states, "I just want to talk to my wife,"
"We're not--"
"Legally, yes, we are," he corrects. Always so condescending. It was one of the things you couldn't stand. How he would belittle your intelligence. It was the little remarks he'd make to shut down any effort you gave. He made you feel unwanted. He was the one who decided to push you away first.
If only he could see past his own selfishness that you truly wanted to save this marriage. But in order to do so, he would need to admit that it was an ongoing problem. You didn't have to worry about a mistress, no. You had to worry everyday about finding him dead. You've caught him overdosing a few times. It eventually took a toll on you. To the point where you lost weight from the stress. Tom rakes his hand through his locks, "Of course you don't want to see me, nothing ever satisfies you," a snarky remark to try and get under your nerves.
With the amount of alcohol in your system, it worked, "Are you kidding me?" you scoff, "Don't you dare lie to me Thomas, I tried everything, everything to fix us, can you say the same?" you growl in his face. Maybe it was the liquid courage that gave you a whole new attitude. Whatever it is helped with confronting him. His reaction, however, was not what you expected.
He smothers you into a deep kiss, pulling you into his embrace. You try shoving at him in an attempt to catch breath. Finally breaking free from his grip. For a moment, he's seems visibly hurt. You scold, "What you wrong with you?!" it wasn't fair. After all the hurt you've been through, Tom still tries to insert himself into your life.
You deserved better. You try to shove him away. Instead, he shoves you against the wall, "Can't you see..." he presses his sweaty cheek against the crook of your neck, "You're my everything..." his voice sounding more desperate with each word. You scoff, "No, Tom, you can't do this..." tears began to brim, threatening to spill. His eyes are filled with worry, "No...now, baby please don't cry..." his expression is saddened but there are no tears. He kisses each cheek, ignoring your sniffling. Tom held you in place by the shoulders, "I couldn't stop thinking about you," it's true. You were his first love.
Tom had longed to see his wife again. To feel her, touch her, caress and worship every part of her. He wanted to make things right, truly. But she just got up and left him. Like he was trash. What made her so high and mighty? He's so sick of seeing you always playing the role of a saint. For once he wants to see you get downright nasty with him. His breathing became frantic, "Can't you see? I'm addicted to you," there's a mischievous look on his face that you were more than familiar with.
You place a cautious hand in front to create distance, "Tom, listen to me, you’re high right now, you're not in the right--" you were muffled by his hand, "No! No! Listen to me!" his voice booms. His sudden mood swing scares you. So much so that your nails dig into his wrist. He hisses in pain, "Stop it! Just stop!" he grits his teeth. When he releases his grip the first thing you do is make a run for it. But before you could even set foot out of the restroom you're pulled back by the hair. You fell on your back, hitting the marble floor.
It sends the air out of your lungs. That's when you start crying, shriveling up into a ball, begging for him to stop. This was how your arguments always ended. Tom crouches down, "Oh...baby I'm so sorry..." He grabs a towel, pushing it against the bottom of the door to ensure that it's soundproofed. He then pulls you into a hug, locking his arms around your waist. Tom rocks you in his embrace, "Please...please don't cry shh.." He doesn't want to see anymore tears spill. He's thankful for the music being loud enough to muffle your cries. He lifted you onto the counter.
You look down at the floor, refusing to look him in the eyes. Tom presses his forehead against yours. His eyelids flutter shut, "Let me make this right..." he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small bag, "Here... this'll help with the nerves," he swipes his fingers on his tongue before dipping it in. He swirls it a few times, coating the digits with the white powder.
When he brings it to your mouth you turn away with disgust, smacking his hand off, "Get it the fuck away from me! You fucking tweaker!" you claw at him. He's hurt by your words. How could you? He really is trying to stop. It's harder than it looks. He's tried just about anything you could name to fix his marriage. Nothing, not a damn thing worked. Every time he'd come running back to that same euphoric feeling. When you left, he started using it again, more than ever.
If only he could get you to try it out, then maybe, you'd understand. He presses you against the counter, using his bodyweight to hold you in place. You sob, "Please...please Tommy...don't do this..." he grips both of your wrists, ignoring your pleas. He looks at you with a maddening look in his eyes. You knew he was out of it. There was always that nothingness behind his irises. To think that this man was once your devoted husband.
He muffles your cries with a clean hand. He has an idea for the other. Tom hisses, “M’gonna make you take it, make you feel really good...” he reaches in between your legs, pushing aside the lace. Tom brings the snow coated fingers to your folds. He bites his bottom lip, concentrating on finding your opening. He slowly starts to insert them, ignoring your cries and pleas for him to stop. Tom starts pumping his coated fingers in and out of your channel.
You let out a muffled scream under his palm. Stray tears falling down and landed on his wrist. He felt almost bad, but you'll understand soon enough where he's coming from. Just wait and see. You'll love it as much as he does. Fuck, every vein in his body felt like it was on fire. It's easier getting hard while using, too easy. His dick almost hurts form how hard it was. He spat a wad on the tip, coating it with a bit of snow before hovering it over your folds. He presses it against your opening.
A wide grin spreads on his face, "Sh...please...don't flinch sweetheart I just wanted to feel... can I feel my own wife's pussy?" He moans. A mewl escapes your lips. Tom chuckles, he knew you'd love it as much as he does. His hands grip your neck, he doesn't know how strong he's squeezing, not while he's using. It felt nice feeling you clench on his length. He’s on an adrenaline high right now. He’s not going to stop anytime soon.
He rapidly thrusts his hips in and out your channel, indulging in the feeling. Two of his most favorite things combined. Oh, how he’s missed you. Tom picks up his pace. He leans down to plant wet, sloppy kisses across your bare neck. He retreats his lips, groaning against your ear, “I promise you I'll make up for everything, I'll even give you a baby like you've always wanted...” He knows it’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to be. A mother.
Your eyes shoot wide open as you scream into his palm to stop. Tom pops a pill in his mouth. He swishes it around a few times before forcing your mouth to open. He removes his palm only for a moment, before shoving it inside. It's too much, too much...You felt like you were flying, no, falling? Your heart couldn't stop beating and every single last one of your limbs felt like jelly. A visible vein bulges on the corner of your temple. Only a faint gargle leaves your lips, "F-fuck...T-tom...please..” sniffling for him to stop.
He coos, “M'gonna give you a baby, ok? then we'll be a happy family..." He sighs in admiration. Fuck, you looked so beautiful. Always so compliant. Don’t worry, he’s going to make sure you’ll never get rid of him, “This was mine the day I put that ring on that finger..." He finishes with a roar, coating your insides with his spunk. Tom is almost satisfied, almost. He doesn’t want to waste a single drop. He carefully removes his cock from your channel, plugging you back up with his fingers.
Tom takes the small baggie. He coats it with your arousal. A deep moan escapes his lips, "Just hide it for me, yeah, can you do that love?" Two of his fingers are buried deep into your channel, he scissors them apart a few times, testing the waters. Then he starts to push it in. You were too buzzed to even fight him off.
His fingers have always caressed that spot you just couldn't quite reach. Tom sighs, “Beautiful...fucking beautiful...” words that he hasn't used in years. Tom throws his coat on the floor. He carefully places you on it, taking no note of the blank expression on your face. He hadn’t noticed your eyes rolling back. He pressed his head against the door to hear if anyone was lurking. If the coast was clear, he could leave.
He places a chaste kiss on your cheek before leaving, placing a tie on the doorknob to ensure no one would wander inside. Tom prepares his car for the both of you. If you were thinking of escaping him, think again. He would keep you hidden until you were surely pregnant. You’ll have a part of him with you forever. He returns to the house with a pep in his step, opening the door to find you still lying on the ground.
That’s when Tom finally notices the faint frothing on the corners of your mouth. He crouches down, “No...” he should’ve seen this coming. You weren’t used to any kind of drug. You’ve never smoked a day in your life. Tom pulls you into his arms, “No no no no...no please...” he shook your unconscious form, “Please! Stay with me!” he shook harder, “Please! Fuck!” Finally breaking down. Tom couldn’t imagine spending the rest of his life without you. For it to actually come true was his biggest nightmare, “Please! Don’t leave me!” He rocks both of you back and forth.
Tom tries his best to control his breathing, reaching into his pocket. He calls the one person he knows would help, "Lenn...I'm in deep shit," he chokes. Tom prays that his brother can make it on time. For years now, Lenny had been the one covering up for his little brother. He could hear Tom on the other end of the phone, “She--she’s not waking up...” That’s when Lenny races out his office in search of his twin, "Tom, listen to me, where are you?"
Whatever shit his little brother has gotten into this time, he better hope it doesn’t ruin his record. Lenny hadn't spent years in law enforcement just to lose it all in one day. If word got out that the local detective’s own brother was a tweaker, he’d have to kiss that promotion goodbye. However, Lenny isn’t going to let him get away so easily. Unlike Tom, his brother is colder, more calculated than emotional. He's always surpassed him in every way possible. Well, almost. Lenny hates to admit it, but Tom had the one thing he finally beat him at, you.
You were the color added to his life. Without you his world was just...black and white.

Summary: The team doesn’t even know of her existence but when Spencer can’t get a hold of her, he gets worried. Now he has no other choice than to tell his coworker about her.
Warnings: worry, guns, kicking down doors, mention of Maeve & Haley's death, fluff!
Author's note: I kinda love this like a lot???
Words: 3.4K
Spencer was happy. Considering the things he had gone through in the past ten years, no one had expected him to ever come back to his incredibly happy and constantly smiley self. No one had ever seen him so giggly and teasing his colleagues every single day.
If you asked his coworkers, all of them would say something different. JJ, Alex and Penelope all swore he was simply in love. Hotch and Rossi knew what was happening – years of profiling in their back pocket that would catch onto the tiniest signs and being his boss had its perks. Morgan believed he was just getting laid, finally.
If you asked Spencer, he’d simply shrug and say, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The truth was that he was in love, just like his female coworkers had guessed.
He had met her a few years earlier at a bookstore. The two of them had reached for the exact same book at the exact same time, causing their hands to bump. Apologies floated through the air, followed by their awkward giggles when their eyes locked. Spencer offered to buy her the book that day and she insisted they read it together over a cup of coffee. Of course he didn’t decline, and neither did he alert her that he read as fast as lightning. For her, he’d read at her pace.
Ever since that day, the two of them had been hanging out non-stop at bookstores, coffee shops, and eventually at each other’s apartment. It took them a good six months before finally sharing a searing kiss that sealed their relationship.
That kiss was about a little over a year ago and now, the two of them were living together. Albeit, she kept her old address, with the help of Hotch who had called in favor, just to throw anyone that snooped into their personal affairs off.
Without any of his colleagues knowing.
At first, he didn’t want their relentless teasing, but then he was reminded of how the BAU’s family and partners were put in constant danger over being even slightly connected to them. Spencer almost wanted to break up with her over it, just to keep her safe. And they did, for a good week, until Spencer realized he couldn’t live without her.
She was fine with being his little secret. Though sometimes, she wanted to get to know his colleagues after all the stories she heard from him. The gruesome details about those stories, however, she’d rather forget immediately.
That was why the two of them kept in touch as much as they could during his cases. Quick phone calls, just to check in with one another, constant text messages, … There was never a moment where the two of them didn’t hear from one another.
When one day she didn’t answer him, he grew immediately worried.
That day had started early for Spencer. He'd been woken up at five am by a call from JJ, telling him to come into work as soon as he could, but not to bring a go-bag. Her eyes had fluttered open ever so slightly, but he shushed her and kissed her forehead.
“Go back to sleep,” he whispered and tried to pull away, but her arms snaked around his neck, pulling him back.
The girl whined and though her eyes were closed, her lips were pursed. “Gimme kiss first.”
Chuckling, Spencer leaned down and kissed her on the lips sweetly. “I love you.”
“Mmh, love you too. Come back to me in one piece, Doctor Reid.”
She tugged at the duvet to cozy up and doze off again. For a couple seconds, he watched her with a tender smile plastered on his face. He hated leaving the girl he loved behind. He’d much rather cuddle up to her underneath the covers.
“I promise,” he whispered and kissed her head again before finally turning on his heel and walking out the apartment. It was always with a heavy heart that he left the apartment, but his mind was quickly occupied by the case at hand.
It wasn’t until 10am when he received a text from her. The initials “L.G.” flashing onto his screen. It was her contact name that she had added. It stood for Lover Girl, she had told him, while putting his contact name as P.B.; Pretty Boy.
L.G.: I actually slept until now. Got any statistics on that, Doctor?
A smile took over his entire face. She often asked him for any statistics about whatever she was thinking about. It was her favorite thing to do, listening to him ramble off facts and statistics, which was why she’d asked for it. Even if it was merely through text.
P.B.: 55% of people oversleep at least once a week and 75% of those have missed work. A little over 30% said they oversleep once a week and 24% do it multiple times a week.
He waited a minute, she usually answered within a couple minutes and he and Morgan were waiting for their colleagues to compile their theories anyway. When her message popped onto his screen, he couldn’t help but smile even wider.
L.G.: You never disappoint. – Thank GOD for bank holidays. ;-)
Spencer chuckled before starting to type up a response.
P.B.: What are you up to today?
Before her reply came in, their colleagues filed into the briefing room where he and Morgan resided. He quickly chucked his phone in his pocket and focused on what his coworkers were saying. It took a couple of minutes as they put their heads together and piece together some of the evidence they had found.
“Morgan, Reid, I’m gonna need you to go to the apartment building and ask around if anyone has seen Peter in the hallways that night. Alex and Rossi, you’re on the new crime scene. JJ and I will head to the M.E.”
Everyone nodded at their assignments before they got up and filed out of the briefing room. As Spencer followed Morgan out to the SUV, he grabbed his phone to check her message she had sent.
L.G.: Just going to run some errands. Do you need anything from the grocery store?
P.B.: Can you get me some of those rice crispy treats, please, angel?
He put his phone back in his pocket before turning to his coworker next to him, who was sneaking glances at him whilst driving. “I do still wonder who you’re always texting with that dopey smile on your face.”
Spencer coughed. “My-my mom.”
“Are you ever gonna tell me the truth?” Derek asked, his thick brows raised. There was no answer at the top of that genius brain of his, so he simply grimaced and nodded his head.
The two of them focused back on the case and went door to door at the apartment building, asking everyone if they had seen who they were looking for. None of them were much help and when they were done interviewing the inhabitants, one hour had passed. On the way back to the car, Spencer checked his phone again, but no messages from his Lover Girl this time.
He frowned and sent her another text.
P.B.: Back from the store yet, L.G.? Did you remember my rice crispy treats?
It wasn’t usual for her to take this long to reply, especially when she had a day off. Her phone’s sound was always on and she had it closeby at every moment. Worry settled on his chest. He couldn’t act on the anxieties swirling around in his mind as he couldn’t just rush home mid-case.
When there was no answer another hour later, Spencer knew something was up. He tried to call her when he and Morgan were waiting on the rest of the team to regroup, but it went straight to voicemail.
“Hiya! You just missed me, but leave a message and I’ll call you back when I can.”
The sound of her voice calmed him down a little bit, but the fact that it was her voicemail only made his worry grow. Two steps forward and one step back, it felt like.
“You okay, Reid?” Morgan asked when he noticed his coworker in distress.
Spencer internally groaned at the fact he couldn’t tell Morgan what was stressing him out because he had decided to keep his girlfriend a secret. Especially at a moment like this when there could be something wrong with her. For all he knew, she could be hurt. The exact reason for keeping her a secret in the first place.
“Uhm, yeah,” he lied. “Yeah, I’m okay.”
It was crystal clear that Morgan didn’t believe his coworker but with the height of the case nearing, he decided not to press any further. It was only hours later, when they closed the case, and Spencer was clearly spiraling that he decided to ask further.
“Reid, seriously, what’s going on?” he asked when Spencer hung up his phone for a fifth time, not getting the answer he wanted.
Spencer sighed and chucked his phone in his pocket, his hands trembling as he did so. “I-I need to go home. Something’s wrong.”
“With your mom?” Morgan asked as he watched Spencer rush out the BAU. The resident genius didn’t even bother to answer, which left Morgan with no other choice than to simply follow behind him. “Hey, Reid!” he called when he caught up to Spencer near the SUV. With furrowed brows and trembling hands trying to unlock the car, the younger man looked up. “Let me drive.”
And with that said, Derek and Spencer got into the car and drove off to Spencer’s apartment. Derek wasn’t even sure what he was in for, but he trusted Spencer enough to follow him blindly. The two of them entered Spencer’s apartment building and rushed up the stairs to apartment 23.
A scream echoed through the door and reverberated in Spencer’s chest, causing his heart to plummet to his stomach. Derek and Spencer both reached for their guns, ready to shoot whoever’s hurting this screaming person. Another scream came from inside and Derek quickly and swiftly kicked down the apartment door.
Another scream, but this time because of the sudden disruption. Once Spencer was certain there was no immediate danger, he holstered his weapon, as did Derek. His eyes scanned over his girlfriend. She had her hair scraped back into a messy bun, an old CalTech shirt of his that reached just beneath her bum and underneath it the tiniest of shorts that were barely visible.
Once her heart had calmed down from the near-heart attack, she tugged the earphones out of her ears. “Fucking hell, Spence, way to give a girl a heart attack.” She threw a cushion from the couch at him.
“Me?! You weren’t answering any of my calls or texts! I thought you were kidnapped,” he argued before stalking up to her and taking her into his arms into a much-needed hug.
She pressed a kiss to his jaw. “I’m sorry, I was too wrapped up in that new Taylor Swift song and singing along.”
“Ah, that was the screaming about,” Morgan muttered, shaking his head with a chuckle.
“I’m just glad you’re okay,” Spencer whispered and kissed her head before remembering there was someone else in the room. Coughing, he looked up at his coworker and only slightly let go of her, keeping an arm around her shoulders.
“So, you’re ready to tell me the truth now?” Derek asked, a smirk on his face.
Spencer smiled down at the girl. “Morgan, this is y/n, my… girlfriend.”
The girl reached out a hand for him to shake and Derek did, but not without eyeing her up and keeping that teasing demeanor. “It’s so nice to finally meet you. Spence has told me so much about you.”
“Wish I could say the same about you, but unfortunately, Boy Wonder never mentioned you once,” he told her, chuckling. “How did you keep this a secret from all of us?”
Spencer shrugged. “I thought it would be better to keep our relationship a secret from everyone to keep her safe. We all know what happened to Haley, I don’t–” He inhaled sharply, unable to get the words across his lips. Noticing his sudden tensed shoulders, she interlaced her fingers with the ones on the hand on her shoulder, squeezing them reassuringly. “She kept her old address, just so no one could trace her back to me. Only Hotch and Rossi know.”
“I wish we could’ve met under better circumstances,” she told him, gesturing to her appearance.
“Shut up, you look cute,” Spencer reassured her and kissed her temple again.
The smile never left Derek’s face as he looked at the sight in front of him. “I’m happy for you, Reid, you know that, right?” he asked happily, a hint of pride in his tone that caused her insides to grow mushy.
From Spencer’s stories, she could tell the team cared about him a lot, but hearing it in real life and seeing it in Derek’s eyes and face meant the absolute world to her. She knew he was safe whenever he was with them, she knew she didn’t have to worry too much when he was out at work. They would protect him no matter what.
Sensing Derek wanted to talk to Spencer alone, she excused herself and removed herself to the bedroom where she looked for something more appropriate to change into. All while keeping an ear on the conversation between the two coworkers.
“I know,” she heard Spencer mumble. “I’m just scared, you know? She’s the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don’t want that to be taken away from me… again…” Heat crept to her cheeks as she listened to her boyfriend talk about her.
“I get that,” Derek said. “She’s important to you – she’s family. Family of yours is family of ours, Reid. You don’t want anything to happen to her, and neither do we. We’d do anything in our power to protect her.”
“Like we did Haley and Maeve?”
She knew all about Maeve and Haley. Spencer had explained everything to her. It scared her to death that something like that could happen to the family of the BAU agents as much as it scared her something terrible could happen to Spencer.
“You know that was out of our control, Reid,” said Morgan.
A short silence fell and she knew Spencer inhaled deeply before continuing. “I know, but what if the same thing happens to her? I can’t lose her, Morgan. I wanna keep her safe, out of harm’s way.”
“Don’t you think your best shot at keeping her safe is to have us informed about it? At least then, we can keep her safe and help you protect her,” he explained and she couldn’t help but agree with her. With her heart a little heavier and her outfit changed into jeans and a top with her hair down, she walked out into the living room.
“He’s right though, baby,” she mumbled, capturing the boys’ attention.
Spencer sighed, “Y/N.” He shook his head.
“Don’t “y/n” me, Spencer. Your little family sounds amazing and I wanna be part of that, too.” She wrapped her arms around his waist, placing her head against his chest. “I know you wanna protect me, but don’t you think we both got a better chance if we got them in our lives, too?”
Another sigh heaved Spencer’s chest, causing her head to move along with it. “Okay, you’re probably right.” He kissed the top of her head before looking at Morgan again. “Text everyone to come over here for dinner.”
“We don’t have enough food for that many people, honey,” she gasped, almost in a panic.
Spencer shrugged. “We’ll order Chinese.”
Within half an hour, the entire team had arrived at Spencer’s, one by one getting acquainted with the one he had kept secret for so long. Neither one knew why they were invited to apartment 23 but when they did find out, their reactions melted y/n’s heart.
First, it was Penelope. The chirpy, colorful blonde she had heard so much about.
“What’s the emergency? Are you okay, Reid? I–” she stopped in her tracks when her eyes landed on the girl beside the resident genius. “Who–Wha–” she stumbled over her words, her brain short-circuiting.
With a smile, she reached out her hand to shake Penelope’s. “Hi, I’m y/n.”
“Reid’s girlfriend,” the brunette that had come up behind her moments after, deducted.
Penelope’s eyes widened before taking the girl into her arms. “Oh, my God! I knew it! I knew our Boy Wonder was in love!”
Giggles filled up the apartment. Spencer and y/n couldn’t help but lock eyes, happy this was the reaction from his coworkers to his news. “Happy to meet you, too, Penelope.”
“Hi,” the brunette greeted when Penelope pulled away. “I’m Alex Blake.”
One by one, the team filed in, greeting y/n as though she was part of the family. With Chinese food scattered around the dining room table, the whole family sat, ate and asked the couple all the questions they needed answers to.
“When did you first meet?” The blonde y/n has come to be known as JJ.
Y/N glanced over to Spencer and took a hold of his hand, entwining their fingers in his lap. “We met at a bookstore, we were reaching for the same book–”
“Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver,” Spencer interrupted.
“That one,” she concurred with a giggle. “He insisted on buying it for me and I insisted we read it together.” Her nose scrunched up while her lips pressed together, remembering how adorable Spencer was that day, and still was.
“Damn, boy,” Derek commented. “Didn’t know you had game.”
“What do you do?” Alex then questioned, moving on from their meet-cute.
“I’m a primary school teacher,” she responded. “I try to mold and form these brilliant little minds to become something that somewhat resembles this genius’ mind.” She placed her free hand on Spencer’s head and lovingly squeezed.
A collective bubble of laughter spread through the apartment, causing y/n’s heart to flutter. She loved being around Spencer’s friends. They were lovely and brought out the best in Spencer. While he always had his guard down when he was with her and showed her his soft side, his friends brought out a completely different side in him. A side she had seen before, but never with people other than her.
For an entire night, the team asked the couple questions, told stories about Spencer even she didn’t know yet and she easily returned the favor. It turned out to be a lovely night that would be grafted into the couple’s minds for a long time.
“I enjoyed spending time with your friends,” she told him when they were cuddled up in bed afterwards.
As soon as they hit the mattress, their limbs entangled and her head ended up on his chest. While his hand trailed up and down her back, hers was drawing patterns on his chest. A position they had found themselves in almost every night.
“Mmh,” he hummed. “They loved you.”
She let out a giggle. “Of course they did.”
A laugh rumbled Spencer’s chest, reverberating through her head. It was her favorite sound and feeling in the whole wide world. She lifted her head from his chest to properly look at him, finding him looking up at the ceiling. From this angle, she had a perfect view at his sharp jawline, his curls sticking out here and there, and his long lashes fluttering to keep himself awake.
“Got any statistics, Doctor?” she then asked, putting her head back in place, right over his heart to hear it beat just for her.
She could feel him turn his head to look at her. “About what?” he asked.
“Anything,” she answered.
He sighed. A content sigh, one where you could hear the smile in his breath. “There’s a hundred percent chance I’m gonna marry you,” he muttered and kissed the top of her head.
A smile curved her lips upwards while her eyes slowly shut. Her body was completely relaxed, her heart fluttering in his presence. She could see their entire future flash before her eyes. Spencer getting down on one knee at the bookstore, her father walking her down the aisle while his friends and coworkers and his mom sat in the pews. She could see ten tiny toes and ten tiny fingers.
She could see forever with him.
“There’s a hundred percent chance I’m gonna say yes.”

────୨ৎ────
"You´re early" he grumbles, surprised at the figure stood in the empty classroom. At 8;30 am, 15 minutes before class, it is only natural for the hall to be empty. So it was only you standing there, dressed neatly, seemingly looking put together.
But Jungkook knew better. He didn´t even have to linger his penetrating gaze on the face of yours long to notice the exhaustion painted on your features.
As always, he turns a blind eye.
Everyone gets tired sometimes.
You nod, "I know, kind of did that on purpose" Standing there while opening your bag, you begin setting your books on the table. A rose colored journal slips out, landing perfectly on top of the books needed for his class. You had woken up early today, determined to not come late for a sixth time. Determined to try and keep up that yes, it was just an accident. Nothing more, no conspiracies.
The wind whispers from the open window, slipping in the fresh morning air, waving your hair with it in a swift but gentle swish.
nonetheless, he notices,
"Close the window, it is getting cold" he sits down at his desk, folding down the sleeves of his grey button down that so delicately revealed his strong form.
So you comply, shutting the air outside of the class.
"Thank you" the sound of two very simple, very common words catch you off guard. With a lean on the window behind you, your gaze shifts to the tall teacher propped up on his desk. Your mouth opens slightly to formulate a response but, cannot seem to gather what to say. Although in every other situation, it´s simple. You´re welcome.
"Calm down, I just thanked you. My god if you´re gonna react like this to every time i comply to that stupid deal of ours I´m gonna be sick" his arms cross in front of his chest, annoyed. Of course.
"I won´t, don´t flatter yourself" you shake your head slightly, moving to sit down at your desk. Certainly the conversation had been closed now. At this point, you did not expect him to engage in your bickering, soon the room would be filled with students.
However, you find out you were wrong,
"How are the injuries. Never asked about that" he´s not even looking at you when muttering a question you weren´t even sure was genuine. His eyes examining the laptop in front of him, much more engaged in the importance of his own tasks.
But Jungkook was not one to speak for filling a room simply to escape silence.
The urge to make fun of him for showing concern is lingering at the tip of your tongue, nevertheless, you bite down.
"Fine. Medium grade contusion on my right hip and lots of nasty bruises" you allow your eyes to wander along his features, letting yourself smile just a bit, hoping he would grand you a look.
"Good. Heal up quickly, you really aren´t in dire need for more absences after all"
His eyes leave the screen momentarily, glancing at you from behind his large squared glasses.
"Trying to. Thanks" your eyes meet for the split of a second before he returns to his priorities.
Just as the next student walks in.
"Good morning mr Jeon" he greets, receiving a nod from Jungkook in return.
-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
"When is this gonna end", you mumble to yourself as you turn yet another page of given material. Yawning and stretching your arms up, you glance at the small numbers on the bottom right of your laptop that has been opened in front of you for what must have been 6 hours now.
9:45 pm already?
The schools library is most quiet at this time. The deafening, still comforting silence only breaks when the crashing of ice inside your drink or hushed words from your monologues make their way into the large study.
Most likely because the college library is already closed and you weren´t supposed to be here either. It´s not like you have ever been caught or are disturbing someone. Even the cleaning staff have become familiar with the long hours you spend sitting put at one of many desks inside the library. Admirable, they call it. In reality, this is as usual as it can get for you.
Only this time, things are different. You will be here the entire night, not just because you forgot how quickly time passes and suddenly the small rays of the morning sun kiss your hands,
It is out of necessity. For possibly the following nights as well. Until you find a new shelter that is willing to take in a runaway college student.
For a couple seconds you wonder how long it will take to find a one bedroom apartment you can afford with the below minimum wage tutoring job of yours. Working part time is impossible since ambitious, home having first year you decided to pack every possible class you could take right in your schedule.
One of the many things you regret.
A set of loud footsteps sound closer than the cleaning personal has ever been, ripping you right out the dream of a small, well decorated apartment. Mentally you groan, wondering if the day you had to be caught, really needed to be the day you would otherwise have to sleep on a park bench.
When the darkly colored wooden doors open to reveal who is roaming the hallways at a time you should be getting ready for bed, you simply can not believe your luck.
"Y/n?" the stern voice can never be mistaken for someone else, his eyes widening as he steps inside to approach your desk.
"Do you have any idea what time it is?" obviously rhetorical he asks, swiftly pulling out the chair to your left and sitting down on it casually.
"I need to study. I´m not doing something wrong i swear, even the staff is fine with it, I just have so much work to do" in an attempt to rescue your chance at a warm sleep, you hurriedly let out every explanations that come to mind.
His eyes look down to your face when he slightly tilts his head back, his hand is now carefully placed on the table, tapping it rhythmically with his long and artful fingers.
I´m doomed.
"Interesting. Try doing that work when the library isn´t closed. Get up, you´re breaking the rules" the same hand that was tapping away motions upward to signal you; no really, get the fuck up.
Like the troublemaker you are, you stay put on your chair
"I can´t, I gotta get this done"
A familiar scoff escapes his lips "You cant be serious. I wasn´t asking. I said get up idiot"
"Jungkook please I really can´t" you plea with him pathetically. The way you must sound or look to him right now is far from your concern, what matters is the need to convince him.
His frustration is painted on his face so visibly you would be able to spot it from a mile away. Instead of you, he gets up, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
Your eyebrows meet to express your utter confusion,
"What are you doing"
Jungkook´s eyes move over to yours, deadpanned as if you asked him the color of the sky, he looks at you.
"Calling the cops obviously. You´re Trespassing"
Your head shakes quickly as you repeat the words no,no,no,no,no while standing up and trying to get him to stop dialing. He takes a step back and groans, putting his phone back in his pocket.
"Finally, leave now. I´ll come with you to make sure you actually leave and don´t try break in again"
"You're so annoying, model citizen over here"
"Thanks. You too" he grants you a fake smile before rolling his eyes so far back he would sure be able to see his brain.
You sigh, aware that any protest is useless or you might end up sleeping at the police station.
Gathering your things and already listing the possible parks and convenience stores you would need to pass time, sleep and study at in your head. Accepting the upcoming hardship you remember his words
Cruel world
A breathy laugh escapes your mouth at the memory.
"I can´t believe you were about to call the damn police on me" you turn to him while walking behind him and out the university. It´s pitch dark outside and you can barely make out any street signs.
"Well i believe in following the law. What way do you need to go?" his movements stop when he asked you that, waiting for a reply so he could make sure you were walking off in the right direction.
But, he was met with silence. You had no idea where to go and the freezing air combined with scarily dark surroundings had just made you register your situation. Where were you going to go?
Annoyed at the non response, he turns to look at you, expecting a pissed off stare or a blank look. He did not await you to look down with a frown of worry. Your head cocks slightly to the side, muttering "I don´t know yet"
Obviously, he doesn´t understand your reply. What could you possibly mean when saying you didn´t know where you lived.
That is until he remembered you living in a shelter.
She must be new there and had forgotten the address, careless as always.
"The hell am I supposed to get from that? Forgot your own goddamn address?" his hand rubs along his forehead, the tension between the both of you is as thick as the air around. Contradictory from his actions, his voice quiets down just a bit.
You decide to stay silent once more, debating if it would be worth telling him what is really going on. After the hospital situation you should be, you should be honest and try to let the deal actually work. Truth be told, the fear of being let down and belittled is much stronger at the moment.
Before you can open up your mouth to whip up a shitty excuse, he speaks again.
"Y/n, is there somewhere you can go?"
Jungkook could swear his heart drops to his stomach when he lets out these words, awaiting your reply patiently.
The question suffocates you, caught red handed you shake your head no, looking up to meet his concerned eyes. It was no use lying to him, he would be checking the library each and everyday, that would mean that you really had to spend multiple nights outside.
He lets out a sigh, placing both his hands on his hips.
"Why the fuck didn´t you tell me?"
"Seriously? I thought you were not gonna believe me and end up actually calling the cops, no thank you" your voice sounding almost unfamiliar after not speaking for a while.
"Sound like me can't even lie. Let's get back inside then" Jungkook says without waiting for your opinion, simply strutting back into the library. You can´t help but grin slightly at his abrubt nature. He goes back to sitting down at the very desk you were forced to leave 25 minutes ago.
"You´re gonna let me stay here?" the hopeful question makes his head shoot up from looking at the floor as he chuckles.
"No you smartass, that´s still illegal, and I´m still a law-abiding citizen. I´ll call around shelters and hotels with you, i guess"
Thanking whatever power rules this world at the tiniest amount of help you can get from Jungkook, you smile,
Meanwhile he is internally cussing himself out for being nice too quickly
"Thank you, seriously, didn´t think you would actually try and hold up your word"
"Didn´t you say you would not have this embarrassing reaction every time? Shut up before I change my mind" his eyes roll back to signal that he meant every word he said. Yours do too, to signal him that he is still an asshole.
His phone as well as yours end up getting taken out, spending the first fifteen minutes calling help centers and looking for cheap hotels
Unsuccessful at attempting to find an opening, you tell him that was expected since you were on basically every single waiting list you could register to.
"So help centers and shelters are off the list. Then let´s find you a decent hotel or something" he yawns, the inevitable need for sleep reaching him as the night deepens. You feel sorry for bounding him into your own personal mess, although it isn´t really your fault. He´s the one so addiment on not letting you stay at the library.
"Absolutely not. I really cannot afford that, I don´t even know for how long I would have to stay there, it´s too uncertain" your head meets the palm of your hand, closing your eyes while sighing at this stupidly vulnerable situation.
It must be past 11 pm already.
"I´ll lend you some money, just pay be back eventually"
"Fuck no" you laugh "That might take me years, and I´m far from comfortable with owing money"
Jungkook knows he can´t force you to, still provocatively he asks,
"What are your options then ?"
You open your mouth in disbelief, the obvious option being the room you are having the conversation in, "Just let me stay at the goddamn library, it´s safe and I don´t need to pay"
"It´s against the law and it is for more than one night" he remains sternly on his arguments
"Who gives a fuck about the law , will you seriously do anything to make me sleep on the streets Jungkook"
Your voice turns into somewhat of a yell, spitting out the frustration you feel towards this childish behaviour. Both of you are tired out of this hassle and want nothing more than to get some rest and peace of mind.
His eyes stay glaring, while his voice turns bitter, "You´re so stubborn, all that I´ve been trying to do is help you not sleep on a fucking bench you idiot. My god get that through the thick skull of yours. You think I´m gonna sleep well knowing one of my students, injured student at that, is spending the night on the streets?"
In all honesty, you knew he was correct. No one would sleep well knowing an acquaintance is in a dangerous spot and yeah, he had spend the past fourty minutes in your vicinity, the past 20 minutes trying to help and figure you out.
The night moves another ten minutes in silence, branches hitting the broad windows that are framing the lecture hall as the sighs of sleep deprivation and sorrow leave his lips.
You were begining to wonder how this would play out, assuming he would just sit there with you in silence until the sun came up.
But what then?
The guilt of keeping him entangled in your mess only continues to feed itself with each wordless minute that passes, you decide to tell him to go home, you would just figure it out yourself.
Unbeknownst to you, Jungkook had thought up something of his own,
"Stay at my apartment then. I have a guest room. We´ll get you something tomorrow and never speak about this again"
Nothing could have prepared you from the sentence that just left his lips. What is even worse about this, is how carelessly he said it, like a passing comment. Even when he basically suggested something comparable to running to the end of the rainbow for a goldpot.
"WHAT" you can´t help it, it just comes shooting out at the complete buffoonery of this situation, that somehow keeps happening with him.
He chuckled briefly at your outburst before combing through his raven hair, his eyes never changing from the standard glare
"Look, it´s fucking close to midnight, I need sleep and you need somewhere to sleep so I will be able to actually go to sleep"
His explanation is as self centered as you had awaited it to be,that does not take away from the fact that your teacher asked you to stay the night as his place.
"I- I can´t believe you would rather i sleep in your apartment than the library. No thank you, I´m taking the bench" your head shakes violently as your face turns from surprise to cringing at the idea.
There is no way in hell you would spend the night at your teachers house
-ˋˏ✄┈┈┈┈
Okay, maybe i lied.
"Turn off the damn radio and- god fasten your seatbelt for fucks sake" Jungkook groans over to you in the passenger seat of his car.
It feels like a parade of clowns are banging on your door by the second you sat down into the black hyundai. Laughing at you like you were the circus performer, not them.
Somehow, he had managed to persuade you into taking up his offer. It is only for a couple hours after all, only to pass the night. So now, he´s bitching to you about something from the drivers seat, 8 minutes past midnight.
Ridiculous, so fucking annoying already. He thinks while reaching over your torso to loosen the seatbelt that is stuck behind the carseat.
Your breath hitches at his closeness, his arm grazing over yours for a millisecond when he reaches over.
Too close.
So close you can smell the cotton scented shampoo he uses, so close you could count the moles on his arms.
You haven´t spoken a word to him since agreeing on his offer and you don´t plan to. Originally, to lessen the awkwardness of everything, now, unsure if that made everything even more awkward.
Even your attempt to lighten the mood with the radio playing got rudely rejected by him.
What a long night it has been.
The drive is short, twelve minutes void of conversation and barely lit streets. Jungkook´s eyes don´t avert the road once, his stare never creeps it´s way over to check if you were still breathing. Given by the quiet as a mouse attitude of yours, it would certainly be a possibility.
Apart from the engine rumbling and the tires rolling on the concrete roads, you noticed his habit to hum whenever the traffic lights would turn green. He also only uses his right arm to drive, keeping his left pressed flat on his thigh.
Endearing, kind of.
Once parked in front of a small apartment complex, he gets out with you and your trusty backpack following right behind. The car locks as he enters the complex, then the elevator.
"Did you loose your voice or are you purposefully getting on my nerves" his tired speech cuts through the thick air,
finally
"Just don´t really know what to say. This is all so strange" you reply, trying to sound non-chalant when the hammering of your nervous heartbeat is so far up your throat, you might actually be sick.
"it is" he says, stepping outside of the elevator and rustling his keys to unlock the door, as if it is not his fault you guys ended up like this.
When the door opens, you are greeted with a white, dimly lit hallway. He takes off his shoes first before you repeat the action and walks into, what you would assume, the livingroom. The apartment is far from the cold and empty modernity you had expected. It´s quite cozy, small but filled with photography and paintings. The apartment generally smells just like him, cotton, a hint of wood and leather.
There are four doors around, one that is open clearly leading to the kitchen, two that are across from each other and one at the very back.
"Sit down on the couch, don´t stand there so awkwardly"
His suggestion is once again, more of a demand that you, as usual, comply to. Jungkook doesn´t try to show you around, skipping all the weird hosting formalities, except for one.
He sits down next to you, keeping a comfortable distance between both of your bodies
"Are you hungry? Thirsty?"
"Water would be good, yeah" the reply sounds painfully forced in an effort to keep the small talk and get to sleep as soon as possible.
The thought of having to face him the next morning made you want to rip your hair out, to try and distract yourself you look around the open space, taking in the beautiful pictures hung up around.
Once he sets the glass of water down you accept it gladly, drinking from it in another attempt to conceal the uncomfortable situation.
"Did you take these?" curiously you point to a collage above the coffetable in the corner of the room. It´s a collection of damp flowers and pretty fields, the color scheme is white and lavender.
It suits him, you think
"Mhm, took em´ four years ago" his voice echos through the walls of his home, following your stare directed at the collage.
"So photography can be pretty, maybe I´m really just talentless" you scoff, remembering the awful portfolio you handed him in.
"Yes, to both of those"
The comment seems to have softened the mood a little bit, you can physically feel your shoulders release tension.
"Jungkook?" now it is his turn to look at you, trying to guess what would follow the sound of his name out of your mouth. He can´t help but jump a bit every time it rolls off of your tongue, natural but uncomfortable at once.
"yeah?", he says
"i know you hate this but I really can not, well, not say this. Thank you for your effort. You may be an asshole but you definitely are a man of your word. You wasted way too much time and concern and fuck, even let me stay here. I owe you something" once your rant is finished, you laugh before searching his face for the scoff you usually see presented there, regardless of the situation.
Only to find it gone,
It has been replaced by a soft smile, something so foreign on his face, it made you feel a spark of joy.
"I guess that was pretty nice of me. You definitely owe me some shit. I´ll get you the sheets yeah? we need to get some rest" Without really acknowledging what you had told him, he brushes past the attempt of a heartfelt conversation. To you, he didn´t have to say anything, the smile was enough to signal,
You´re welcome.
Now you stood there, sheets in hand, trying not to look at your teacher in his guest bedroom.
While putting the sheets on the bed, he stays leaning against the doorframe, watching you blankly
"Mind if i ask, you know, what happend?"
It hadn´t occurred to you before that you never actually spoke the words i got kicked out of the shelter
"With things like shelters, women with children have, righteously so, priority over runaway college kids. That´s all" , you explain, your eyes fixated on the task before you, finally finishing it up, the satisfaction of sleep inching way closer that it is now basically in reach.
He hums in response, making you look at him, leaned against his doorframe, full glory in grey sweats and a black shirt, hair laying messily over his glasses
When did he get changed?
"So. about tomorrow then, I´m guessing you won´t be able to find something so fast" tainted by exhaustion his voice tries it´s best to sound stern, nevertheless, a yawn escaping his lips makes him feel much less distant than usual.
Maybe it's just the fact that you're in his house, but that is besids the point.
"Yeah sherlock that is why i kept trying to tell you to just let me sleep at the damn library" you roll your eyes, this is the fifth time you tried explaining that to Jungkook. As a teacher, you expected him to be a little faster than that.
"Oh my god this again? I´ll kick you out if you protest one more damn time. You can just fucking stay here until a shelter calls you back, Why are you so attached to that library"
The last part arrives to your ear fuzzily as he had already shut the door of the guest bedroom, leaving you to think for yourself with what he had just uttred
Slipped secretly between his cussing he offered you to live with him temporarily. Just like that, blatant, sudden, plain. The words ring in your head, over and over again.
You can just fucking stay here
Like it´s no big deal
Whatever
You would deal with it tomorrow, it was just a comment. Sleep is far more necessary, begging you to finally rest for the remaining couple hours of the night. Too exhausted to continue thinking,
"Good night to you as well" you yell, opening the door just a bit for him to hear, earning a groan in response.

yoohoo!!! @nabi004 and @mialuna4 and that one anon!!! sick angel request!!! many thanks for the love <3
14 Days With You is an 18+ Yandere Visual Novel. MINORS DNI
~A Sick Angel~
“Can you please—”
“No.”
The past few minutes had been like talking to a brick wall. [REDACTED] hadn't let you move an inch from the bed since you’d woken up in an agonizing daze.
Sure, you felt like complete shit, maybe a little on the side of a fever. And the moment you sat up you wanted to scream. But it was manageable. If you tried, you'd be able to make it through a day at the library.
Blue eyes quickly narrowed, as if they knew exactly what you were thinking. It was frustrating how stubborn they could be when he wanted to.
You attempted to frown at your companion. Nothing really changed about your haggard expression—thanks to your face and entire body feeling like dead weight—but your tone worked well enough. “I need to go to work today.”
“Not happening,” he insisted as he reached up to your forehead.
You closed your eyes for just a second. His cold palm against your brow was too heavenly to ignore. “I don't want to let Elanor down. Today's really important for her,” you croaked.
They didn't bother to hide the momentary disgust in their tone at the mention of your coworker. “She wouldn't want y’working either, Angel.” As if to prove his point, they tapped away on your phone. He'd been holding it hostage behind his back.
Only a minute later, it dinged with a response and he finally held it out to you. Elanor had sent a polite and elaborate text as always. You read through it while he continued to run both of their cold hands over your heated face like two makeshift ice packs.
Good morning, [REDACTED]. At least I assume so from how brief that message was? Thank you for letting me know Y/N is ill! I'm sure they must be worried about missing today's event but we can handle it just fine! And I’m happy to take some pictures for them! Please take good care of them and give my well wishes. Regards, Elanor.
You raised an eyebrow and scrolled back up to the paltry message he'd sent her.
sick no work
Somehow, it was probably the nicest thing they'd ever managed to send any of your friends. You looked back up at him with what was meant to be a pout. “Okay then.”
With instant trust in your word, he stood up to leave the room. He soon returned with his arms full. A cold compress, medicine, some drinks, and anything else they thought you might need. You lightly rolled your neck and resigned to your fate as a patient when he sat next to you. The medicine and drink he offered were swallowed without fuss on your part, then you laid down. The throbbing pain already seemed to calm as you did.
The compress stayed at his side instead of being placed on your forehead like you thought. You felt their hand on your cheek yet again, a more noticeable chill to his rough skin this time.
“Just in case it feels too cold f’you,” he explained before you even asked.
It felt perfect, so you didn't mind at all. You practically purred in relief at the gentle circles they rubbed. You tiredly looked up to him as you complained, if only to tease them, “I'm a little disappointed you didn't bring out the nurse outfit.”
“‘Course you are.” His eyes lit up with mischief, a knowing smile cut across his lips to match your playful one. “I'll make it up t’you when y'feel better, yeah?” Their thumb slowly traced back and forth from one corner of your mouth to the other.
“Germs, you weirdo,” you reminded him. Though you didn't bother to shake off his hand, weak as you were. “You’ll get sick.”
“Y’worried about me, love? Cute. But I promise ‘M not gonna catch whatever you have that easy.” They leaned down to kiss your flushed temple, eventually settling propped up on one arm to lay as close as possible beside you. Faintly warm breath tickled the top of your head until you drifted back to sleep under their watchful gaze.

Restless Nights
WARNINGS: angst, fingering (r receiving), oral (r receiving), dom!Wanda, arranged marriages, infidelity, jealousy, mentions of homophobia
WORDS: 2,401
PAIRING: princess!Wanda x princessF!Reader
A/N: ugh , i've been struggling with assignments and i have final exams so i promise i'll be writing and posting my anonymous and un-anonymous requests soon !!
Wanda. She loved you, and you loved her. But you couldn't love her. Neither could she love you. Though you laid nights together, sweaty and disheveled, gowns thrown on the floor, jewelry scattered around the room. The moons glow, illuminating the room, her hands interlocked with yours, her beautiful green eyes looking down at you. Oh, but you couldn't be with her. You were to be wed to Prince Pietro, and she to be wed to Prince Vision. You weren't meant to be. But you wished so.
You lie in bed with your hand running through her wispy dirty blonde hair, “printsessa?” you hummed in response. “Would you ever want to run away with me?” your hand froze in place. She's never asked such a question. Do you want to run away with her? Yes. But — but what about the Royal family's reputation? You knew you didn't care about the reputation. Yet you knew if you ran away, eventually, you'd have to come back and face any consequences. Most likely, getting hanged or burned. “Y/N? Would you?” you continued your movements on her hair, “yes– I mean.. I wouldn't mind living far away with you.” she traced invisible patterns on your bare thigh. “What would the others think? Two princesses from different kingdoms, engaged to two different princes running away together..” you trail off as you feel her palm inch closer to your centre.
“So?” your breath catches in your throat. “So? Wanda.. what if–” she squeezed your inner thigh, “what if they find out ab- Wanda would you quit it? I'm being serious about this!” she snickered and grabbed onto your thighs. “I'm infatuated with you, my lady.” she whispered as she nipped at your skin. You threw your head back onto the soft pillows that lay on your mattress. “I would do anything to make you my queen..” she mumbled against your exposed cunt. “As– as would I, my love.” you clutched at the sheets as you felt her warm tongue dip into your folds, her head right in between your legs. “Oh Wanda!” she pinched at your clit causing you to yelp slightly. “Be quiet. You wouldn't want one of the maids to find us right?” you knew that even if the chambers were Royal members after hours only, that sometimes your father would call a maid down to check up on you.
“Mhm.. you're right Wan.” you could almost hear the smirk in her tone, “good girl. Now stay still.” she pinned your body down with her arm to stop your squirming. “My Princess are you alright in there?” no. It couldn't be. Panic rose to your face, why must Pietro be visiting you right now? Not while his twin sister is between your legs. “I— I'm getting.. dressed! Don't come in. Please.” he was respectful enough to stay outside your room. Thank heavens door locks existed these days. “Wanda how are you going to get out?” you shouted at her in a whisper. “I'm staying malysh.” you widened your eyes, “what?” you quickly slam your hands over your mouth when to accidentally yell the last part of your word. “Just.. tell him that it's lady problems. He's too shy to ask anything else.”
She shrugged as she got off of you and put her gown back on. “..Pietro come in!” you call out to him as you tie the strings of your corset. “Princess! ... Wanda?” his gaze averted from you to his sister. “What are you doing here?” you squeezed her hand to stop her from saying anything stupid. “She uhm.. lady problems?” you squeak out. “Ah! I see. So I– I came to ask you about what gown you want for the wedding.”
Wanda felt a pang of jealousy strike her heart. Why couldn't she have you? What was so wrong with two princesses wanting each other? No. Needing each other. Why did her brother have to take all the good things she ever got close to in life? The throne. Her princess, you. “Oh.. right. The dress.. something white?” he chuckles, “obviously. But what design would you prefer printsessa?” printsessa. When Wanda called you that it felt so natural, so normal. But hearing it from his mouth felt so wrong. You wanted him to stop. “I– I think it's just better if you call me by my name Pietro.. and you can just pick whatever design you want.” he nodded before leaving the room.
Thank heavens he left. She was still in your room though, faint noises could be heard from outside the window, and you assumed night insects. Cicadas or crickets maybe? “Dorogaya..” you looked up at her with an innocent look in your eyes, she knew it was fake. Her gaze darkened as she stepped closer to you and lightly shoved you back on the bed. “Oh Wanda..” she lifted up your legs and placed them over her shoulders. “I want the whole kingdom to hear you scream with my head in between your legs.” she muttered before dipping her head under your gown. “Wanda.. my love wait–” her tongue already began parting your folds, earning a moan of pleasurement from you. “oh, you taste divine, Princess.” she whispered as she lapped at your wetness, basking in your essence. Your hands quickly flew to her hair, gripping onto it firmly as you bucked your hips against her mouth in desperation and neediness.
You were in deep, like when Alice fell into Wonderland. Wanda was your wonderland, you were her Alice. Was that so wrong? Was loving her so wrong? “W- Wanda slow down..” you gasped softly as she licked up all your arousal. “oh God.” your hand fell from her hair and onto her toned shoulders. The moment you felt her tongue swirl inside your cunt you lost it. “Wanda I'm going to—” your teeth sunk into your lower lip as you suppressed a rather loud scream. Your thighs clenching around Wanda's head, your fingernails scratching at her muscular shoulders. “You did so well for me printsessa.. so well.” she peeked up at you from in between your thighs, your cum dribbling down her chin.
“I love you so much..” God. Why do you have to marry Pietro? You wanted to marry Wanda. “I love you more dorogaya.” her breath fans against your skin in the cold room. Yet, both your bodies remain overheated. “The wedding is tomorrow.” she froze, hurt clouded over her eyes. She knew the wedding was tomorrow, but hearing it come from you, rather than her brother, just made it feel more real. “I know.. I– I've known.. I just wish we could run away, and leave this cursed kingdom. I wish to be with you. And only you.” she said, her hands interlocked with yours. “As do I, my love. I yearn to be your wife, your queen. Not your brothers.” you felt tears build up in your eyes as she held you close.
The cold night spent in warm touches went by quickly as it was already day. “Princess! You are needed by the maids.” you sighed as you walked out of your chambers and into the room full of maids. “Congratulations your majesty. I pray for a well marriage for you and the Maximoff Prince.” you feigned a smile through your pained heart. “Thank you. As– as do I.” you stood in the middle of the room as the maids helped you out of your clothes and into a beautiful white gown. “You look ravishing my lady.” you heard one of the maids say. “Thank you.” you bowed your head down with a tight smile. “She's not wrong, you look heavenly printsessa.” you knew that voice. You peeked up at the door, only to see Wanda leaning against the door frame.
“um– may I have a moment alone with my soon-to-be sister-in-law?” you squeak out to one of the guards. They simply nodded before leaving the room with the rest of the maids. “Darling.. what are you doing here? I'm not supposed to see you till the ceremony.” you say as you walk over to the woman. “I just needed to see you. Can I not see my princess?” you felt your cheeks flush into a bright red, “yes, yes you may.” she stalked over to you with a lustful glint, one that only you could tell, in her beautiful green eyes. “Wanda.. I– what if someone comes in? The ceremony is in an hour!” she picked you up by the waist and placed you down on the dresser. “Nobody will see us. Isn't that what you want?” you held in your breath as you felt her hands slip underneath your wedding gown.
“Wanda.. oh–” you let out a moan as she rubbed her thumb against your puffy clit. “shh.. shhh. You're getting married to my stupid brother.” you glared at her, “I don't want to discuss this right now W-Wanda.” she inserted two of her digits deep inside your throbbing hole as she leaned down to slam her lips against yours, quieting down your loud moans. “Stay quiet. You wouldn't want Pietro to walk in hm?” you widened your eyes and shook your head repeatedly. “No! No.. I don't wa–” your hand slapped against your mouth as she curled her fingers inside of you, hitting your sweet spot.
You wrapped your arms around her back as your nails dug deep into her skin, deep enough to draw blood even. “Are you close my queen?” you couldn't hold in the choked sob that left your throat, “oh, Wanda!” you cried out as you came all over her fingers, the fingers that were still knuckle-deep inside your cunt. “Malysh you did so well.. my perfect little Princess.” she whispered as she squeezed your hip.
A knock on the door left you panicked, your eyes frantic as you beg Wanda to let go of you. “The ceremony begins in 25 minutes Princess Y/N!” you looked up at the still, closed door. “I'll be out in a minute!” you let out a sigh of relief as you assumingly heard the knight walk away, considering the metal clanging noises fading from afar. “Wanda I–” she blinked back some unshed tears, “you need to go. But please just this once allow me to spill my heart to you my lady.” you let out a shaky breath and nodded.
“I love you, I adore you..” she let out a nervous laugh as you smiled and wiped away her falling teardrop with your finger. “And, I want you to know that– I'll never stop loving you. My love for you will continue from here on and after. If I were to be sent to another realm you'd be the first person I'd search for,” she sucked in a sharp breath as she noticed your eyes watering up. “My offer isn't gone, it will never be gone. You can still run away with me printsessa, we can leave this kingdom. Consider yourself a witch because.. you have bewitched me. I'm under a spell, a spell that can never be broken.” her beautiful green eyes were full of tears, and you could see her bottom lip quivering as well. You pressed your lips against hers, kissing her with utmost passion and love.
“Please, I– I don't want to marry him. I wish to marry you, my dear.. I wish to marry you! I love you so very much darling. Oh, how I long to be yours..” the moment gets cut short as a loud banging on the door made you break away from her and get off of the dresser. “The ceremony is in 5 minutes you must leave Princess!” you mouth an, I love you to Wanda as you wiped off your tears and fixed up your gown.
You got dragged off to the main hall by a couple of knights and a maid running after you with your crown. You could see Pietro, your future husband, and King, standing at the altar from afar. “Do you take Princess Y/N of the Y/L/N kingdom as your wedded wife and Queen?” Pietro looked over at you and softly smiled, “I do.” the man then turned to you. “Do you take Prince Pietro as your husband and King?” you slowly nodded, “yes, I– I do..” and just like that, you weren't hers anymore. You had her last name, except it wasn't hers. You felt tears streaming down your face as you saw Wanda excuse herself out of the room. “Queen Y/N and King Pietro maidens and men!” cheers and claps were heard throughout the hall, only to sadden you more.
The night lasted long, long till you were sent to Pietro's room— your new shared chambers, for the night. “You're beautiful..” you heard Pietro say from the bed as you took off your jewelry in front of the vanity. “..thank you.” you saw him get up and walk towards you from the corner of your eye, this isn't happening. “My Queen, I assure you I would never hurt you.” your lips stuttered into a slight smile. “I.. I appreciate that.” he turned his gaze over to the clock, “it's getting rather late, enough of this I'm heading to bed.” he waved goodnight as he lay down on the bed. You sigh as you watched over his resting body, your wedding dress and jewelry off, you were simply in your nightgown. “I'm so sorry..”
You grabbed your crown and jewelry in a hurry and stuffed them in a leather bag before walking out of the bedroom. “Wanda.. Wanda, Wanda–” your mind full of only her, and just her as you search for the woman throughout the castle. When you finally found her she was wearing a velvety red cloak, “I knew you'd look for me.” you clutched onto her shoulders as you sobbed into her chest. “God, I missed you so.” she whispered some words in a different language into your ear, Sokovian perhaps. “Are we.. are we leaving the kingdom?” you asked. “Forever.” she pecked your lips quickly. “You and I, til death do us part my Queen.” Wanda smirked as you both ran hand in hand, out the back gates.
Restless nights, restless nights the two of you lie together. The sun and moon couldn't describe you and her. She was the moon, you were the ocean. And she drove you mad.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ anon request: Hi, I hope you're having a good day/afternoon/night :) I'd like to ask you for some platonic headcanons (although if it's not your style it's okay to ignore it) about the demons in obey me and how they would react if MC saves them from a surprise attack by a demon hunter (whether she ends up very injured or not I leave it to your choice 😉)
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ Hello! I love this idea honestly. But I take up to 8 characters and there's total of 9 demons in OM! that I write for so I removed Lucifer and did the other demons because they're getting too little love </3 Hope you won't mind this little change and still like it!
Also I really hope I did platonic for everyone- I might've got ahead of myself and automatically did fluff for some so... lemme know if that happened!
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ platonic, TW: mentions of reader dying, small descriptions of cutting/sword swinging
✧ the moment news about demon hunter going around Devildom spread, you were paranoid and the weight of calming you down landed on Mammon
✧ your age didn't matter, he'd take you to casino to relax. Or... he'd want to... if you're too young for it Lucifer or security would definitely kick his ass for trying to do that
✧ luckily tho, he wasn't worried about you since the demon hunter obviously hunts just demons, even he knows that!
"Don't ya worry, human! I'm called THE Great Mammon for a reason!"
✧ but the moment he crosses patches with one... he's actually more concerned about you than himself
✧ he's gonna step in front of you, assuring you it's alright while it's actually him who's considering if it'll be better to fight or run away
✧ and the moment YOU save HIM is like a hit to him... I mean, he was supposed to protect you, not the other way around! But you'll still catch him blushing from emberassment as he mutters small thank you. Bur you better listen because he's not repeating it!
✧ that's if you wint end up dead... if you do, he actually breaks into tears when he realizes he lost someone important again...
✧ the demon hunter might not be here anymore but even then, he makes a promise to your empty eyes
"I'll make them pay... for doing this to you... I'll be the one protecting you this time. I won't fail for the 3rd time."
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ Levi would be just as if not more scared than you
✧ he's already isolating, what made you thought he'd even consider going out in such a circumstances? Well... you would...
✧ after solid 6 months, even you calmed down and figured that demon hunter must've calmed down so you thought you might as well go game shopping with the third brother!
"Uh... seriously? What if that demon hunter is walking around? No, don't go alone!! Alright I'm coming..."
✧ but as he imagined, 6 months were definitely not enough to calm down... because just before you entered the game shop, you had to be push Levi aside or he'd get hurt
✧ if you didn't got hurt badly, he'll definitely first talk them off but he will summon Lotan without hesitation if they decide to make second attempt
✧ but if you did got hurt badly... he summons Lotan immidietly, not caring about consequences, he just wants them gone after seeing you in this state
✧ but surprisingly you didn't even felt a single drop on you, he was ready to destroy all the buildings in this city but made sure you won't be anymore hurt
"Y/N please tell me you're alright... and that I didn't hurt you more... c'mon they're gone now, let's go back home, this store had nothing that catched my eye anwyay..."
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ Satan was the wise one here, like usual. He figured news must be playing jokes or that the problem will pass soon enough, so after 2 months, after news completely calmed down, he tried calming you down as well
"Remind me, for how long this 'demon hunter' had been quiet? 2 months, exactly. No murders, no signs, just quiet. You're being paranoid, Y/N."
✧ he eventually had enough and took you out by force to show you no one's scared anymore and it's just you
✧ but as he was dragging you along, focused on not bursting with anger from your whining, he didn't notice the swing which you took
✧ it definitely left a bruise on you, but let's assume it didn't kill you! He'd still be pissed, the moment he sees blood on you, he's already in his demon form ready to hunt down anyone who did this to you
✧ and if you're actually dying? He'd make sure to remember their facial characteristics, he want to run and get vengeance but he also knows you're close to death and need help QUICK
✧ but in the end, he can't save you... he becomes even more angry on daily basis and will hunt down anyone who looks at least a little similar to that demon hunter, he didn't care if it wasn't them, he can't risk not trying
"I'll make you pay... I won't kill you once, but 100 of times, so you can feel what you did to them."

@miya-akane - come get your cat lover!
✧ let's be honest, both you and Asmo were absolutely terrified at the news of demon hunter going all around Devildom
✧ you can't count how many nights you two spend together and how many times he complained to you that he's running out of his beauty products but doesn't dare to go out alone
"I can't go alone!! Y/N c'mon... I'll buy you something too!"
✧ it wasn't helping your worries but you really had enough of his whining... so you figured one hour in the city shouldn't hurt! I mean, what's the chance demon hunter will appear in this exact city at this exact hour?
✧ well this hour apparently was enough... you didn't even had good luck around when you noticed something shining as Asmo was still rambling... you quickly realized it was a sword and without second thought, pushed him away
✧ at first, he was a bit upset because you pushed him on dirty wall, ruining his outfit but upon realizing WHY you did that, his emotions shifted on the person who caused it in the first place
✧ seeing the cut on you made him absolutely furious, and believe him, he wanted to fight. But whether the cut is deadly or not, he'll rush back home with you
"Ugh! They're the real demon here! Hang on Y/N... I will not let you end like this."

@vodka-glrl - come get your pretty princess~
✧ Beel was actually quite cautious but still confident in his skills, always assuring you he can manage even if he gets attacked
✧ but you still insisted on going with him anytime he goes out, so that's how it also was today
✧ and he's actually more careful when he's walking with you so that's actually good for you both
"We should get something to eat while we're at it... I'm not this focused on my surroudnings when I'm hungry..."
✧ it was just the moment when Beel's stomach was growling that the demon hunter striked before he knew it. And before demon hunter knew it, you got in front of ginger demon
✧ it won't be a lie when I say his heart stopped for a second when he saw a sword making an injury on you, he even threw his food away just so he could fight the one who did that!
✧ believe him, that demon hunter tasted better than the food
✧ now, you injury doesn't matter, injury is still very risky for humans, he'll just be more worried if it's deadly one
✧ he's definitely not leaving your side, be it when you're alive or a ghost, he promised himself to always have an eye on you
"Hey... I brought your favorite snack... I thought we could... eat together or... appreciate it... however it wouldn't sound..."
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ Belphie is kinda simoliar to his third brother with it... why go outside and risk your life when you can sleep?
✧ you literally don't have to worry about him because he not only sleeps through whole days but also keeps you trapped so you can't go in the city, the only source of news for you is tv and media
✧ so when you heard cafe's are opening again as Devildom have calmed down... you thought it could be nice to go back to your dates!
"Uhh... it's so early... didn't that demon hunter just kill someone 2 days ago? ... Maybe 2 months, same thing... let's sleep together, it can also be a nice date..."
✧ you'll literally have to force him to go outside, not because he's scared but because he's lazy, and looking at how it ended... he'd actually prefer if he was stubborn enough to pin you to bed and not go out...
✧ because when you went outside, he just saw blade in one second and your injury in another
✧ no matter of your injury is deadly or not, he'll throw his fists at the one who caused it
✧ he's having flashbacks now and trust me, he'll go all the way out, especially with deadly injury
✧ he looks so scary and ready to kill, but once you're alone, he breaks...
"I'm so sorry... I'll save you in another life, I promise... Believe me, I or anyone won't hurt you once..."

@miya-akane - come get your sleepyhead~
✧ Diavolo just wanted to see human world, he didn't expect there was still something like 'demon hunters'. And even if, he made sure to disguise as human well!
"Well isn't that nice... You certainly have quite a culture! What do you recommend we visit?"
✧ apparently tho, it wasn't good enough because in one second he was sharing a donut with you and enjoying the time, and in another he saw you getting in front of him we someone swinged their sword right through your stomach
✧ if you didn't end with deadly cut and more of a warning one, he'd manage the situation, it was just the attack from surprise that caught him off guard
✧ he chooses to try persuading them first but if that won't work, he'll only break their weapon and eventually knock them down, not wanting to cause too much damage
✧ poor boy will be like a puppy following you around because he feels guilty for this whole situation
✧ but if you did end up with deadly cut... he feels like he failed. Failed as your partner
"I'll do better from now on... I promise."
✧ his heart was telling him to get vengeance but his mind was telling him to wait... so with small sadness he tried persuading this demon hunter to give it up but when it obviously doesn't work, he will 'accidentally' finish their life
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
✧ you decided to accompany Barbatos with his tea shopping in human world, thinking it could be nice to spend some time together and learn a thing or two about tea
"Now we'll be heading there. I know it seems like shady place but believe me, it's actually the opposite. It'll be best if you see for yourself."
✧ but he for one had a bad feeling about it... he tried keeping his guard up but in one moment, when he was checking what's tea made of, he let his guard down...
✧ he just heard you bumping into his back, making him turn around, realizing he was lost in his thoughts for a little while
✧ he'll be so relieved when he sees you with just a little scratch and makes sure to scare the demon hunter you're dealing with, be it with his appearance or be throwing them into wall, it all depends how cooperative they'll be
✧ but if you ended up with no chance of living, he wouldn't care to scare them off and would rather immidietly end them, apologizing while reporting to his lord for what he did
"How can someone so careless even call themselves a good butler... Eh... maybe I could mess with time again... just a little bit..."

The King With No Name
6. Road Bandits and Kisses
Part 1 here Next Part (7) Summary: König - the king of Caldera - has been called upon by your father to choose a bride from his daughters in order to establish an alliance to keep peace over the lands they rule. When he arrives, he is enraptured by you, your father’s eldest child - an unconventional woman by all standards. He pursues your hand in marriage, doing his best to make you fall in love with him like he has fallen in love with you - much to your dismay Author's Notes: I want to use the space here to apologize if this isn't up to my usual standards. I've been rather stressed lately and a sudden bug infestation of my home has exhausted me. Warnings: Arranged marriage, eventual smut, pining, dogged pursuit of reader’s love and affection, kisses (finally), mentions of arousal
-----
A little after nightfall, you reached the seat of König’s power. The city that surrounded his castle was the largest you’d ever seen and still bustled with life despite the late hour. König had insisted on you riding in a carriage with him to move inconspicuously through the streets and you were too saddlesore to argue, climbing in with him quickly.
You watched out the windows as you were driven through the streets. Candles were being blown out as people turned in for bed and the world quieted. Bugs chirped and buzzed to each other across the night air. A barking dog and crying baby could faintly be heard from somewhere in the distance.
The castle was as large as the city, fit for a king as mighty as König. As the carriage stopped before the great hall, he helped you out and onto the road, heading for the open doors. A figure approached to meet him as he arrived.
“Sir, it is relieving to see you back. I must speak with you immediately. A gang of bandits has been ambushing wagons on the roads outside of the city and your guards have not lifted a finger to help us catch them. My deputies can only do so much on their own,” he said. König paused.
“I am disappointed to hear that, Sheriff Klein. Rest assured I will personally have Sir Wilhelm assist you with the issue tomorrow. The guards in question will be spoken to,” König said, shaking his head.
“It cannot wait, I am afraid. They grow bolder each day. Just last night the baker almost lost his life returning home in the evening when he had no coin to hand over,” the sheriff said, looking up at König with concern in his eyes.
“Very well, I will send for assistance as soon as possible, but I cannot help you now. My wife has arrived and I must see her inside,” König said, gesturing to you. Sheriff Klein seemed to notice you for the first time and bowed.
“My lady, I am sorry for the intrusion. I do not mean to worry you,” he said.
“No, don’t apologize. This sounds serious. König, you and I can go help him, can’t we?” you asked, stifling a yawn.
“No, maus, you must rest. I will see you inside and then I will go speak with my men,” he said, resting his hand on the small of your back and gently guiding you towards the doors.
“I will see you soon, sheriff. Wait in your office,” he said. You watched as the sheriff left, heading into one of the castle’s large towers before disappearing.
“Come in and rest, maus,’ König murmured, leading you inside and through a grand hall. You barely had time to take everything in - the light was low and he was hurrying you.
“I will show you your home tomorrow,” he promised, guiding you up a grand staircase and down several more long halls before opening a large door for you and ushering you inside.
“König, wait, I have no idea where I am,” you protested as you stepped into the room, glancing around. König slowed for a moment and took your hands gently.
“Rest, maus. Your things are here - my men have brought them for you already. Take a bath and sleep. I will be back with you by the morning,” he assured, squeezing your hands. And then he was gone, back through the door from which he had come, calling out and asking if any of the soldiers in the hall knew where Sir Wilhelm was.
You looked around as the door slammed closed, taking the exceptionally large room in. A fire roared in the fireplace, illuminating the space with flickering light. A large bed sat against the back wall, no doubt having been built especially for König.
A second doorway led off to what was no doubt a bathroom and a third revealed a balcony bathed in moonlight. You sat down on one of the lounges with a sigh and rubbed your forehead, watching out the large windows. You blinked when you caught sight of the sheriff loading up a prison wagon by himself, hitching horses to it and seemingly preparing to leave. The sight of him made you spring to life once more and you ran out to the balcony, calling out to him below.
“Are you going by yourself?” you called, waving at him to catch his attention. He looked up at you, surprised.
“I cannot wait on more men, my lady. The time in which they tend to strike is drawing near,” he admitted, climbing into the wagon’s driver’s seat.
“Wait for me!” you cried, dashing back inside. It took you a minute of digging through cabinets but you found your weapons, shoving your knife into your belt and strapping your bow to your back. Already armored for the road, you paused only to snag a large helmet from a display of König’s war armor and raced back onto the balcony.
Sheriff Klein looked nervous as you climbed down the trellis that supported the vines and flowers growing against the castle walls and glanced around several times as you hit the ground and jogged up to the wagon.
“Let’s go!” you whisper-yelled as you climbed into the seat beside him, grinning and resting your bow in your lap.
“Are you sure about this, ma’am? The men I’m hunting are dangerous. They wouldn’t think twice about killing or stealing away a woman,” he warned, eyeing you warily.
“I’ve already been stolen, sir, and I’ve been itching for a proper fight ever since.”
—
The wagon rumbled loudly across the cobblestones as Sheriff Klein drove quickly through the city streets, but not a soul dared to stop you. When you reached the ambush site you found yourself just outside of a little farm on a road that snaked in between two cliffs - perfect for ambushes from above.
“This is the road that they use to bring stolen goods in and out of the city,” Sheriff Klein explained as he parked the wagon a few meters off into the trees to hide it from view. He unlocked the large door to the back, which was essentially a cage built to contain up to ten men.
“We should post up on the cliffs and shoot them from above,” you murmured, following the sheriff as he hurried up the hill, keeping an eye out for approaching men.
“That’s the plan, but the aim is to capture, not kill. I want these men alive so that they might be tried fairly,” the sheriff said. “Kill only if necessary, in self-defense.” You nodded.
“We should block their way if they try to escape. Box them in and force them to go one way or another,” you said, scanning the moonlit road below you.
“If we had more men and more time we might have been able to spring a better trap,” Klein admitted, rubbing his chin and glancing around.
“Then this will have to do. I’ll do my best to disable the wheels of any wagon that comes across my firing line,” you said with a smile. Before Sheriff Klein could respond, the sound of an approaching wagon and several horses faded into earshot down the road, approaching the city.
“Stay out of danger, my lady. If anything goes wrong, run and save yourself.” Sheriff Klein murmured as he crouched down on the cliff, drawing his sword and watching the small group approach.
“Nonsense,” you hissed, pulling König’s helmet on and notching an arrow into your bow, kneeling by a tree that hung over the road, preparing to draw.
There were only five men with the goods split into two wagons, and once you saw the sheriff nod to confirm that these were the men he was after, you drew back and fired, your first arrow striking the road just in front of the main wagon to stop the horses.
They reared and cried out, backing away from the arrow as it sank into the ground. The two men in the wagon looked up, scanning the trees, fumbling for their weapons. You sunk another arrow into one of the wheel mechanisms of the second wagon and the wheel shuddered as it came loose. If they tried to run, it would undoubtedly fall off.
The sheriff leaped down from the cliff and landed on the road in front of the wagons, raising his sword.
“Halt there, strangers! You are under arrest for robbery! What say you in your defense?” he shouted, brandishing his blade at the men in the forward wagon.
The driver cracked his reins and before you could think twice, you leaped down from the cliff and onto the wagon as it shot off, leaving the sheriff and the three men on the disabled second wagon in the dust.
“Stop!” you cried as you sat up from where you’d landed in the back, scrambling forward and shoving the passenger harshly in the back. He and the driver shouted in surprise as the horses kept running forward. The passenger sprung up and out of his seat, clambering into the back to try to subdue you. You aimed a quick punch to his cheek which sent him off balance and dropped your bow, pulling your knife free and slashing at him with it. He stumbled as he went for his own but the wagon hit a rock and sent you both falling to the ground.
With all of your strength, you reached to your side and shoved him, sending him tumbling out of the back of the wagon and into the dust. You scrambled to your hands and knees, and having lost your knife in the fall, snagged a bit of rope from the bottom of the wagon. You lunged for the driver, wrapping the rope around his neck in one quick motion and pulling tightly, making him drop the reins and clutch at his neck.
“Stop the horses!” you yelled in his ear as he clawed at the rope around his neck, which only made you pull tighter. You gritted your teeth and grabbed at the reins that had fallen to the side, tugging back on them tightly as you tugged back on the rope.
The horses came to a stop with whinnies of protest and you released the driver as he went limp, kicking him out of the wagon and down to the road below. You whooped as you leaped down with the rope, your heart racing and adrenaline coursing through your veins as you trussed him up and stepped back to admire your work.
The sound of hooves striking the road made you look up in surprise. Expecting to see the sheriff, you paled and your smile disappeared when you caught sight of at least a half dozen soldiers riding hard for the wagon, König leading them.
They skidded to a stop as they reached the wagon and König launched off of his prancing horse, searching the scene for you with wild eyes.
“Maus!” he shouted, barreling towards you. You couldn’t help but grin despite his obvious anger.
“König, I did it!” you called proudly, trotting towards him as he approached. He reached for you, anger and concern radiating from him. You grabbed him as he bent down to embrace you and pushed his hood up to his nose, pushing your lips against his as your eyes fluttered shut.
Shock radiated through König’s body and he froze as you kissed him, his eyes closing instinctively. He grabbed you by the waist and hoisted you onto the back of the wagon, shielding your body from onlookers. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him closer as he kissed back, breaking away after a moment to catch your breath.
Your eyes fluttered open and met König’s through the mask. The anger was gone from him and he gestured behind himself to his soldiers. He slid his helmet from your head and placed it on his own.
“Take that man away. Clean this mess,” he growled, picking you up from where he’d sat you on the cart and setting you on his horse. He swung on behind you and wrapped one arm around your waist, pressing you to him and taking the reins with the other as he rode off back towards home.
You could feel every inch of him pressed up against your back as you rode in silence. He was fully erect, and you could feel his cock pressed up against your ass through your pants, each step the horse took grinding you back against him slightly. He held onto you tighter, not uttering a word until you reached the rest of the men.
The sheriff and several soldiers had locked the four prisoners into the wagon and were going through the stolen goods, attempting to identify the owner. König called out as you approached but didn’t bother to stop.
“Sheriff Klein, I must apologize to you for the situation my wife has placed you in. Thank you for keeping her safe,” he called, his arm tightening around you. You waved at the sheriff, a guilty smile adorning your cheeks.
“Thank you for your assistance, my lady. You held your own quite well,” he called. “And thank you, sir, for sending so many soldiers.”
—
König had mostly calmed down by the time you reached the castle and led you inside without a hint of aggression in his frame.
“Maus, you have done an awfully dangerous and bad thing,” he murmured to you as he guided you up the stairs and back toward his bed chamber.
“I only wanted to help and I was successful,” you argued, sighing as he opened the door for you.
“I was gathering men to assist the sheriff. You didn’t need to endanger yourself in that way,” he said, taking off the helmet you’d both worn that night and setting it on the stand.
“The men responsible for robbing merchants on the roads have been apprehended. I was only trying to help the people that you brought me here to rule,” you said, folding your arms across his chest.
“You cannot help people if you are dead or captured.”
“I apologized, didn’t I?”
“Not with your words.” You sighed.
“I’m sorry, König. I should have told you that I was leaving to help the sheriff. I just couldn’t let him go alone and get himself killed,” you said softly, taking his hands. König nodded.
“You are a brave woman, maus. A noble woman who cares for others. That is what makes you beautiful, what has drawn me to you,” he murmured, tucking a strand of hair that had fallen over your face behind your ear. You stood on your toes pushed his mask up again and he leaned down.
You kissed him again, more softly this time than you had kissed him on the road. He held you gently by the hips and pulled you closer to him, smiling and resting his forehead on yours as you broke the kiss.
“Take a bath, maus. While I would like your sweat to stain my sheets someday, I would prefer if it was not accompanied by dirt and dust,” he said softly, making you laugh and push away from him lightly.
He helped you out of your armor and sent you into the bathroom alone before unstrapping his and tucking it away. When he came into the bathroom you were settled peacefully in the massive tub, facing away from him as you dried your face on a towel.
“Maus, can I join you?” he called softly, tugging his shirt off and draping it on a nearby chair. You turned around, frowning.
“I suppose. But don’t…look at me. And don’t touch me, okay?” you asked softly, turning back around. König’s heart fluttered. He didn’t blame you for still being so shy, and even though he wanted you desperately, he had no desire to push you.
“Of course, maus,” he murmured as he slipped out of his pants and underclothes and let them fall to the ground. You turned your head politely as he approached and slid into the warm water, the flower petals that floated on the surface obscuring your body from all but the most scrutinizing viewers.
Once he’d sat down across from you, you looked up and offered him a hesitant smile. He still had the hood on, which didn’t surprise you. You sighed softly and leaned back against the tub’s wall, letting your hair hang over the edge of the tub as you relaxed, enjoying the steam.
—
Sometime later - you had fallen asleep - König roused you, calling your nickname quietly in your ear.
“Maus, the water has gone cold. It’s time to go to bed,” he murmured, gently brushing a towel against your cheek. He had already gotten out and dressed, and you grumbled a little and rubbed your eyes, sitting up slowly and taking the towel.
König turned his back respectfully as you got out, dried yourself, and put on a clean nightgown. Once you were finished, he took your hand and blew out the remaining candles in the bathroom.
König’s bedroom was warm and his bed was inviting. Too tired to care that you had to sleep in the same room as him, you slid into bed and buried yourself beneath the pile of warm blankets he’d retrieved for you. König followed you, watching the light from the fireplace flicker across your face as you fell asleep quickly in his arms.

Kyōjurō x F!S/O: Solace (Modern!AU, Fluff??)
Note: I needed to vent; inspired by real-life events. Sub-genre: Hurt/Comfort Warning: Mentions of terminal illness (Not Kyō or (Y/n)).
***
To say that (Y/n) had had the worst day was an absolute understatement. What she had expected to have only been coffee with her sibling had ended with her getting the worst news: that their father was terminally ill.
No amount of crying in the bathroom at the café was enough to make her tears subside. For (Y/n), it felt as if the world had just pulled out from right beneath her feet, and there was nothing to hold on to.
Kyō, please pick me up? I’m in the city, at our usual café. She read the text over and over, feeling horrible that she would even ask her husband to travel two hours from his workplace just to escort her home. But, if she were being honest, she wasn’t even sure if she would have been able to move without anyone’s help.
Her bones felt like jelly, and her chest was grievously tight with all of the emotions that she tried so very hard to suppress.
Thankfully, Kyōjurō’s reply came quickly: Of course, my love. I’ll see you soon.
The faintest hint of relief washed over her then, but it wasn’t enough to make a dent at her inner grief. Still, she tried to keep her composure as she swiped at the tears stains that marred her cheeks.
She had to hold it together, just until they got home. But that feat was easier said than done.
Time seemed to tick by very slowly after (Y/n) went back to her sibling and began to catch up a bit more with them. She was trying her hardest to keep herself in the present, but her attention always fell back on to checking the time on her watch— no matter how rude that was.
All that she wanted was for her husband to get there, so that she could go home with him. Scratch that— all that she wanted was for Kyōjurō to be there, so that she could feel his warm and comforting arms around her; to wrap her up in the safety of his arms, and shield her from the entire world.
Thankfully, it was eventually time for both her and her sibling to leave. And with promises of seeing each other as soon as they could, they parted ways— with (Y/n) waiting just outside the café; simply people watching, to get her mind from straying to thoughts that she wanted to touch on later.
All sorts of characters came and went, with some of them being eccentric enough to be noteworthy. Yet (Y/n) couldn’t even muster up the strength to crack a smile at the silliness of some people; instead, she simply stood there, shifting her weight from one foot to the other, while her right hand fiddled with the strap of her leather bucket bag.
Seconds felt like hours as she waited there, but eventually, the sight of a familiar head of blond hair stood out in the crowd.
(Y/n) shifted her weight onto both feet then, before closing the distance between them as fast as she could. She walked through a throng of people that had just crossed the street, pushing past a select few who were too stubborn to move out of her way. But, eventually, she reached Kyōjurō.
Instantaneously, she gave him as best of a smile as she could, while he leaned down and gave her a peck on her lips.
“How are you, my love?” The blond asked with his trademark grin, which slowly faded away when he saw the tired look on her face. He wanted to ask what had happened in his absence, but realised that it wasn’t the right time or place for more questions. So, he simply went with, “Should we go home now?”
(Y/n) nodded at the inquiry, falling into step beside him and holding onto his bicep before letting her hand slide down his forearm, so she could comfortably thread her fingers through his own.
With that, both of them made their way back to the train station in silence.
All the while, Kyōjurō kept looking at his wife to check up on her. And it concerned him even more since it seemed like she wasn’t entirely present. Her mind was somewhere else, and he knew that she would tell him when she was ready; so all he could do was silently guide her during their walk.
Whenever they were at crosswalks, he would squeeze her hand and tug on it gently to let her know when to stop and wait to cross. And whenever he could, he would lift their intertwined hands up, just so he could press a kiss on the back of hers. It was a small gesture, but it was all he could do at the moment.
Even when they were on the train home, (Y/n) still didn’t talk. All she could do was either look down at her feet, or gaze off far outside the windows.
With how crowded the train was, they were stuck standing by the doors, so Kyōjurō had taken it upon himself to hug his wife while his left arm was wrapped around the support pole— basically anchoring both of them to it as the train rocked with every bump and turn.
“I love you,” Kyōjurō whispered softly against (Y/n)’s ear, before trailing his lips up and pressing a kiss to her forehead.
That was the catalyst for the flood gates breaking within (Y/n). The tears that she had been holding in so desperately began to steadily stream down her face, and she found herself pursing her lips to keep herself from sobbing.
Kyōjurō felt horrible for possibly causing his wife to cry, but he pushed his own feelings aside and held her tighter; alternating between pressing kisses to the top of her head, and wiping her tears away every so often.
Eventually, however, (Y/n) felt the need to explain why she was so emotional. But, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t suppress the sobs that threatened to spill free from her lips whenever she opened her mouth— so she did the next best thing…
She slipped her phone free from her purse and, through bleary eyes, opened her notes app and typed down her explanation: ‘I just found out that my dad is really sick.’
The young man’s gaze traced over the words over and over, and his expression tightened— before he gathered his wife into an even tighter hug, all while pressing his lips to the top of her head. “I’m so sorry.”
***
The rest of the trip, as well as the walk, home was spent in silence; save for (Y/n)’s quiet sniffles, as well as the quiet rustling of her clothes whenever she had to reach up and wipe her tears from her face.
She just felt so drained, that all she could do was sit down at the end of hers and Kyōjurō’s bed while she kept on crying. Her gaze fell blankly on her lap, uncaring and a bit lifeless as she tried to wade through the pain welling up within her.
In the other room, Kyōjurō kept trying to look for a box of tissues for his wife— yet he couldn’t find anything, so he decided to go rogue and settle for a roll of toilet paper. It wasn’t the most ideal thing, but it would have to do at that moment.
Toilet roll in hand, the young man made his way to their bedroom, feeling his heart break when he saw just how broken (Y/n) looked as she wept. And he knew— he just knew— that nothing he could say would make things better.
What he could do, however, was just be there for her.
And that was what he did; sitting down next to her, and folding some toilet paper— as nicely as he could— to wipe (Y/n)’s tears with. They were ceaseless, so Kyōjurō found himself folding up more tissues to keep dabbing his wife’s tears away.
Eventually, the couple settled for laying down on the bed, with their legs hanging off the end.
Kyōjurō gathered (Y/n) close to him; one arm around her, while his left hand kept dabbing her tears away with his temporary fix for facial tissues.
“It’s not fair,” (Y/n) murmured thickly; her voice barely intelligible with how hoarse it had gotten in the course of a few hours. “It’s really not fair.”
Kyōjurō could swear that he felt his heart breaking in his chest, all because— for once in his life— he didn’t know what to say. “I know, my love. I’m so sorry.”

Gosh sorry that took me so long but! Dad Link, his little girl, and his Zelda too as a treat (little thing based on Edmund Leighton's painting "The Accolade".)
And for his story, decided to put what I have for now below the cut, it all may be tweaked a bit later but yknow
For Link, I think I mentioned before that he has Sheikah ancestry in a timeline where their people are pretty scattered. The guy still feels a certain loyalty to the crown even though Sheikah looking after and working the for the royals isn't a thing so far down the timeline. Link's fighting style is less "heroic knight" with broadsword and more lightfooted assassin, prefers bow/arrow + knifes over any kind of heavy weaponry and armor. Before meeting his wife and having their daughter, pretty sure he was involved in- don't want to say "shady" work but uh- he has a certain skill set and has been in a few fights.
Had some of the best years of his life, but lost his wife to an illness too soon, making a promise to her that he would take care of their little one and she'd never have to be alone. At the point we'd meet him, its just he and his daughter, Adelyna. They're very close and mean the world to each other.
For Zelda, she's the kingdom's queen at this point in her life. She comes across somewhat cold and stoic, but she's a compassionate person under it all. When she was younger, Zelda loved to travel, seeing both her kingdom and places beyond it, but eventually her hand was forced and she had to step up and take the throne.
My thought was that at the point we meet our heroes, theres deep political unrest in the kingdom, rumors of the cycle recurring soon, and whispers of threats against the queen. After an assasination attempt, the castle is put on lockdown and leaves Zelda feeling like a caged bird. Link catches wind of what's happening and feels a deep obligation to offer his service to her because of his heritage, but with tension so high it's unlikely they'd knowingly let a kid stay in the castle (even though with it on lockdown it's arguably one of the safest places to be.) Guy is pretty torn, he can't bring himself to leave his daughter somewhere where she cant reach him if she needs, she's already lost her mama, but it's also hard to sleep at night knowing the kingdom is being held together by a thread and his skills could make a difference (especially if, debating on it, but if he already has the triforce on his hand and *knows* things won't end well without him.) Since Adelyna already has an affinity for the fairy spell (her name means small winged one on purpose ajdjfk) he makes the decision to ask her to use it so she can come with him without too many questions (hero with a fairy companion is a tale as old as time and woven into many of the legends.)
Link works quickly and quietly, it's not long before he's accepted into the castle and assigned as a sort of personal bodyguard to the queen (think triforce helps with that, although he keeps it quiet as possible and theres few people there who know who he really is.) In a room with the queen, he lacks the intimidation factor of an armored knight and classic hero, but its a bit unsettling how good he is at watching from and moving in the shadows. In his time shadowing the queen, he starts to notice tiny oddities in some interactions she has and begins to piece together an inside plot and like gosh it's scary how good he is at taking people out without anyone knowing.
Then on personal side of his story, Adelyna uses her fairy form anytime she leaves their room, only dropping the spell when she and her dad are alone. It works for a while, but the crisis lasted longer than Link ever planned on. Muffled conversations coming from his room can only be ignored for so long though, but tbh i think what finally gave him away was singing his daughter to sleep quietly. I kind of think that the queen herself was coming to request something of him but paused to listen, the guys voice sounded much different than she'd ever heard it. Whether it was her old spark of curiosity getting the better of her or suspicion, I'm not sure, but she was pretty taken aback walking in to find Link's girl there w him.
He had been pretty quiet about himself, its his nature to not say more that needed, but the lady truly had no idea he had a family at all, much less that he was a widower and single father. Think when she gave him the chance to explain himself, it was the first time he saw the softer side of her, like she had of him not long earlier, and to his surprise she allowed both to stay as long as needed. With the secret out and forced proximity queen and bodyguard have, eventually the two are able to really open up and become close friends.
(I mean, friends at the very least, I haven't decided yet, but they may be more someday- both still have a lot of healing to go through before that someday comes. And ofc, little Adelyna grows on Zelda too. The fact the little reminds the queen of her younger, spunkier self (before Life happened and she was forced to be the pretty closed off person she is now) isn't the only reason, but it definitely doesn't hurt.)
And if you made it this far, a few extra sketches as a treat and a thank you <333
RIP the guys been found out

Trapped Hearts
a/n: Hello. Hello. Another Joe fic. This time a one shot! Thanks for coming to my Angst-Talk. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. I had some pent up angst in me and it needed to get out. Thanks as always to @barfightzanddiscolightz for beta reading and editing and generally being the best!
warnings: Joe's being a major dick. Like. For real. Cursing. Big emotions.
wordcount: 4.6k
“Are you fucking kidding me? Stop that!”
“What?! We have to check everything! Otherwise, we’ll be stuck in here forever!”
“This is not how escape rooms work, Joe!”, you practically shrieked with frustration. You rolled your eyes as you tried to pry his fingers off the clearly fake window frame adorned with the escape room company’s logo sticker. “Did you not listen to the instructor? He clearly said that anything with that sticker on it, does not belong to the riddles...let it go!”
“Fine.”, he hissed, quickly withdrawing his hand from the fake window and out of your grip, wiping it on his trousers as if you’d sullied it with your touch. He then took a couple steps away from you to the other corner before opening his mouth again. “And don’t fucking touch me again.”
“Oh, don’t worry, Quinn. I won’t.”, you promised, your eyes rolling in exasperation which he didn’t seem to notice. With a frustrated deep sigh, you turned to walk in the other direction to check out a cupboard that you hadn’t searched through yet. Joe immediately answered your sigh with a scoff.
You had already been 45 minutes in which meant you only had 15 minutes left and you hadn’t even made it out of the first room yet. You had Zach to thank for all this. Fucking Zach, man. He had invited you to play an escape room duel with him, his girlfriend Iris, the sweetest human being that had ever graced this planet, and a mystery friend. Now, an escape room duel was a face-off between two teams, with the first team to escape winning. Piece of cake, right? But Zach, that utter moron, had failed to mention that the mystery friend would be none other than your sworn nemesis: Joseph Quinn. Seriously, he could’ve invited anyone but him.
Honestly, Joe and you hadn’t always been at odds. There was a time, from waaay back in primary school up to the day you graduated from secondary school, when you used to be best friends. You had even harboured romantic feelings for him, which started around year nine, but you never really made them known because you hadn’t wanted to jeopardise your friendship. So, you had just sat on them and suffered in silence when he would show up with his new catch of the month. Then he had gotten accepted to his fancy acting school and never showed his face anymore. You had tried to reach out but every time you did, he would dismiss you because “he didn’t have time” as “he had to rehearse for a play”. You had always offered to help him, and he would decline because he usually rehearsed with his school mates. For some unknown reason, he had even neglected to mention his plays, let alone invite you to them. After about a year of you trying to stay in contact you eventually gave up. The only thing that had remained was your mutual friend Zach. For some reason Joe had stayed in contact with him but not with you.
In the beginning, the fact that all of a sudden you weren’t good enough for him anymore had hurt you immensely, but with each passing year that hurt had turned into sadness which had morphed into anger and ultimately graduated into hatred. Zach would invite you out to chill at a park with the lads and lasses and you would always have a great time until Joe had shown up. As soon as you would spot him, you’d pack up your belongings and would leave with an excuse that “something had come up”. This had worked fine the first couple of times but after the fourth time, Zach had pulled you aside and demanded to know what was going on. You had explained that you and Joe had fallen out and that you didn’t want to see him anymore. You also had asked him to inform you if Joe would be attending so you could opt out in the future and to please never ask you about it ever again. You had left a confused Zach standing there as you stormed off, not noticing Joe’s longing stare, which had been set on you.
Over the years, you had seen Joe less and less. This had mostly been due to the fact that he had spent a lot of time abroad or in different parts of the country fulfilling his acting duties. The only time you would see, and largely avoid him, was at mutual friends’ birthday parties which had luckily taken place less than a handful of times a year. When your paths had crossed anyway, you would either look in a different direction, or if you had accidentally looked at each other you would send him the vilest glare you could muster.
The last time you had seen him in person was back in 2019 before the whole pandemic and his sudden rise to stardom. God, that had been the worst. His face had suddenly been all over the tabloids and various social media sites. You had even cancelled your Netflix subscription because you didn’t want his mug showing up in your suggestions.
And now here you were, stuck in a tiny room with him, literally and desperately trying to escape, not only for the game’s purpose, but also from him.
Whilst Joe was still grabbing at anything and everything, you finally found a key to a tiny padlock. You triumphally turned around and went straight for the padlock you had spotted earlier, which was attached to a small treasure chest. Inside that chest, you hoped to find the big key that would open the door to the next room. You squatted down and eagerly opened the chest just to be met with disappointment as it only contained a small piece of paper bearing yet another enigmatic riddle. With only five minutes left for you and Joe to escape, the daunting realisation set in that there wouldn’t be enough time to decipher the clue. Groaning you let your head hang down in defeat, when suddenly, the scrap of paper was ripped from your fingertips.
“Hey!”, you protested loudly. The abrupt movement of him taking the riddle from your hands made you lose your balance, and your bum ended up ungracefully plopping onto the floor.
“I’ve seen these symbols. They’re in the books!”, Joe exclaimed, disregarding your current predicament on the floor, not even bothering to help you up.
“It doesn’t matter, Joe. We’re out of time anyway.”, you explained in defeat whilst slowly pushing yourself up. “They will let us out in two minutes.”
Joe sneered and rolled his eyes at you.
“Yeah, and it’s entirely your fault that we’re out of time.”
“My fault?”, you sputtered in disbelief. How dare he?! MY FAULT?! That! Bitch!
“Yes.”, he replied with a finality that held nothing but malice. “It’s because you aren’t a team player. You’re a selfish little cunt.”
“What did you just call me?”, you asked Joe, clearly taken aback. Joe only gave you a dismissive glare and turned his back to you. You let out a shaky breath which resembled an angry huff you hadn’t even realized you had been holding in and stalked over to him. When you came toe to toe with him, you raised your hand and slapped him across the face. Stunned, Joe slightly recoiled in response to the sudden impact of your palm against his cheek. Fuming but satisfied, you pivoted and marched purposefully towards the emergency exit. With a deliberate pause, you turned around again to give him the finger before rapping your knuckles against the door.
“Hello?”, you shouted with urgency. “Can you please let me out? I don’t want to be in here anymore.”
You crossed your arms and leaned against the door frame, waiting for someone to open the door. As you glanced up at the timer that hung from the ceiling, its display confirmed that the time had officially run out. Your attention shifted over to Joe, whose face was redder than a tomato, amplifying the visibility of your handprint. He was waiting impatiently to be let out of the escape room’s main entrance. When a couple of minutes had passed and neither the emergency door nor the entrance door opened you started to panic a little.
Hammering your fist against the door you started yelling.
“HELLO?! TIME’S UP! LET US OUT!”
Nothing.
“HELLO?! IS ANYBODY OUT THERE?!!! LET US OUT!”
Still nothing.
Oh no. OH FUCK.
Oh shit. We’re stuck.
You were stuck in a tiny room with Joseph Quinn of all people, the man you despised the most.
Slowly, you let your body slide down the wall next to the door and buried your head in your hands. Your breathing became shallow and erratic, and your vision blurred. Joe, who was still shouting for the employees to let you two out, was blissfully unaware of your impending panic attack.
“This can’t be happening. This can’t be happening. This can’t be happening...”, you muttered breathlessly. Your fingers began to shake, and you unsuccessfully tried to choke back a sob.
When Joe heard it, he instantly turned around with the most annoyed look on his face.
“Are you seriously crying right now?”
“Shut up.”, you managed to gasp. Your breaths were coming in ragged bursts and each moment that passed seemed to steal more oxygen from your bloodstream, leaving you increasingly lightheaded. “I need to get out...before... bef-ore...”
It was now very hard to breathe, you couldn’t even form complete sentences anymore. Joe fortunately noticed the alarming shift in your demeanour and frowned.
“Hey...are you OK?”
You shook your head, your trembling fingers pointing to your chest as it rose and fell rapidly.
“Can’t... br-eathe.”, you choked out. As Joe realised what was happening, he immediately went into helping mode, taking quick steps towards you and dropping to his knees in front of you.
“OK. Come on. Look at me.”, he demanded quietly, and you slowly lifted your head, trying to focus on his face; it was a challenge through the tears that were uncontrollably flowing down your cheeks. You blinked rapidly, trying to get the tears out of your eyes. Once your sight had somewhat began to regain clarity, you noticed how close Joe’s face was to yours. His rich chocolatey orbs were staring right at you.
“Here you are...OK. Now breathe with me.”, he instructed, as he slowly breathed in through his nose and out again through his mouth. He did that with you until your breathing steadied.
“Thank you.”, you whispered, still hesitant to use your regular volume. You were genuinely amazed by how effortlessly he had managed to calm you down. His eyes radiated assurance, it was as if you could grasp the tranquillity they held, and you were suddenly able to breathe again. No one had ever had this effect on you. “Where did you learn that?”
“Learn what?”, he questioned, leaning back on his haunches and placing his hand flat on his thighs.
“The breathing technique.”, you replied, pushing yourself up a little to sit straight against the wall.
“Oh...uhm.”, he started, lifting one hand to the back of his head, scratching it lightly, “Well...you used to have panic attacks at school which I guided you through...I guess it was just muscle memory?”, the skin of his face suddenly held a faint hue of pink.
“Ah...”, you acknowledged. You both were still staring at each other. “Yeah...that must be it...thank you again.”
“No worries.”, he nodded, quickly averting his eyes as he pushed himself up into a standing position. “I think we’re stuck.”
“No shit, Sherlock.”, you muttered with a tired sigh, finally rubbing the tears from your eyes.
Joe didn’t respond to your comment but walked over to the opposite side of the room and sat down on floor.
---
After about fifteen minutes of you both trying to get whoever was out there’s attention while not speaking to and basically avoiding each other as best you could, you were the first to throw in the towel and decided to take matters in your own hands. You walked over to where you’d seen Joe put down the small piece of paper with the symbols and picked it up. You had seen some of the symbols too, they had been in the books on the shelf. You were able to find four out of the five symbols and their appointed numbers, which sure enough gave you the code to one of the padlocks, but you just couldn’t find the fifth symbol and it frustrated you to no end. Joe, who was moping in his corner, was staring at you the whole time and it wasn’t helping at all, it made you incredibly nervous.
After trying and failing for the umpteenth time at retracing your steps to find the missing symbol, you accepted your fate and gave up. You had to admit to yourself that you couldn’t do it without Joe, who had made no attempt to help you. So, you sat back down into what you decided was your spot. Leaning forward, you buried your head between your knees and let out the deepest sigh.
“I think they’re doing this on purpose.”, he finally spoke.
“Huh?”, you asked, lifting your head a little to look at him.
“Keeping us both locked in here.”, Joe elaborated. “It’s on purpose.”
“You think so?”, you asked defeated, “Why would they do that?”
“Dunno.”, he replied with a shrug, which you returned with a hard eyeroll.
“You think they’re doing this on purpose, but you don’t know why? Wow. Way to go Joseph. Your suspicions really contributed to finding a solution to this whole fucked up situation.”, you scoffed, and he gave you the finger in response.
“At least I’m trying to figure out what’s going on, unlike you who’s just sitting there and feeling sorry for yourself.”, he accused with a sharp edge to his voice.
“They locked us in here and aren’t letting us out! That’s what’s going on! I’m sure there are no ulterior motives behind it. They simply forgot about us.”, you rambled, and Joe shook his head.
“There’s CCTV in here. They have not forgotten about us, you idiot.”, he replied as if he were talking to a child. “It’s on fucking purpose.”
“Ugh. Please stop talking. You’re giving me a headache.”, you groaned and placed your hands over your ears, so you didn’t have to listen to his delusional words anymore.
In response he crossed his arms in front of his chest and glared daggers at you before he mopingly turned his back to you again.
---
Another 30 agonizing minutes crawled by, the deafening silence growing even more stifling, and they still hadn’t let Joe and you out of the room.
Boredom hit you like a freight train, so you tried to find different riddles to solve inside the room. After all, what else was there left to do? Joe, who had turned around once more when you had started making noise, was picking at his fingernails and began silently observing you roam around the room.
You were sitting on the floor, in the middle of the room, just about to complete a jigsaw puzzle when he suddenly spoke up from his designated corner.
“What happened?”
“Are you stupid?”, you questioned him, without looking up from your puzzle. “We’re obviously trapped in here...”
“No...”, he retorted whilst slowly standing up and making his way over to you. “What happened to us?”
You looked up at his towering form, eyebrow furrowed in curiosity. He sighed before he sat down opposite you and spoke again when you remained silent.
“Back then... after we graduated, what happened? You suddenly didn’t want to hang out with me anymore. Don’t think I didn’t notice.”, he stated, picking up a puzzle piece and placing it in its rightful position.
You scoffed and snorted at his statement. Was he fucking serious? You couldn’t believe the words he had just spoken.
“Are you fucking serious, Quinn?”, you seethed, your voice grew louder with each sentence, “I didn’t want to hang out with you anymore? Oh, that’s just fucking rich...YOU were the one who went off to your fancy little acting school and didn’t want to hang out anymore. I tried...oh and how I tried, to keep in touch with you. I offered to help you rehearse and you always declined. You didn’t even invite me to your plays!”
“...what? That’s not true.”, he tried to defend himself.
“Shut up! I’m not done yet.”, you snapped, holding up your hand to cut him off. Now it was your turn to glare daggers at him. “After a year of trying, I finally gave up. I told Zach not to invite me when you were around because I couldn’t stand seeing you. It hurt like hell at first because I didn’t understand why you would still want to always hang out with Zach, yet you acted like I meant nothing. I was so unbelievably furious. You hurt me so damn much, and yeah, I fucking hate you for that! I hate you! I HATE YOU!”
Angry tears were now cascading down your face and your body was visibly shaking. Joe, who was too stunned to speak, suddenly leaned forward, and pulled you into his arms, destroying the almost finished puzzle in the process of hugging you.
“Don’t touch me!”, you shrieked. “Let. Me. GOOOO!”, You tried to push him away, but he wouldn’t budge, only tightening his arms around you even more, holding you in place. You kept on squirming in his arms, trying to get out of his hold, yelling, shrieking, calling him all the names you could think of for what seemed like forever, but he still didn’t cave.
“Please.”, you eventually chocked out, your voice a defeated plea as you sobbed, tears streaming down your cheeks. “Please let go of me...it hurts...I hate youuuu.”
“Nuh-uh.”, Joe finally whispered into your ear, pulling you up a little. Hiccoughing, you let your head rest in the crook of his neck, feeling Joe’s word vibrate through your body, as he spoke again, this time in a normal volume.
“It’s true, I didn’t really hang out with you after I started drama school. But you have to understand, I was the new kid and I had to prove myself in order to be accepted by them. I had to rehearse with them, even though I would’ve loved to do it with you. But then you didn’t show up to my first real play and I got so disappointed and angry with you. I don’t know why you said that I didn’t invite you because I did. Zach and I had been out at Clapham Common skating when my mobile slipped from my pocket and got damaged. I had specifically asked him to forward the invitation to you, but now I see that he didn’t... that fucking dimwit, I’m gonna kill him.”
He took a deep breath before he continued, absentmindedly rubbing his hand up and down your back, and you allowed it. You didn’t have the strength to fight him anymore, so you let him.
“After I got my mobile back from the repair shop, I tried to contact you, but you had blocked my number. I even tried to message you via Facebook, but you had unfriended and blocked me there too which pissed me off big time. Stupid young me then decided that two could play that game, so I just started to ignore you even more than you ignored me. I had this plan, that you’d eventually give in and come back to me if I kept it going, but it backfired horribly. When Zach pulled me aside right after you’d left the park, once again just when I had arrived, and told me that you didn’t want to hang out with me anymore, it hit me hard. I realised I went too far, but I was young, full of anger, and stupid. I didn’t know what to do to fix things. So, I ended up doing what you did on those rare occasions we got to see each other and interact – either throwing insults or avoiding you altogether... what goes around, comes around, you know.”
Taking another deep breath, he moved his hand that had been rubbing your back to your hair and started massaging your scalp. You had long accepted that he wouldn’t let you out of his arms anytime soon, so you just listened to him and let him do what he needed to do.
“It was never my intention to make you hate me, you know.”, he was now back to whispering. “Knowing that you do hate me hurts a lot because...because...’cause I could never. Even after everything. Even after trying to and oh, how I tried. I just couldn’t. I...fuck. It’s the opposite, actually.”, he chuckled humourlessly.
This revelation suddenly sparked some left-over strength in you and leaned back, staring at him, mouth agape.
“The opposite?”
“Ugh. Yes. The opposite.”, he repeated.
“But the opposite of hate is love.”, you stated, mind totally blank.
“Yes.”
“You love me?”
“Yes, silly.”, he groaned, closing his eyes. “I’ve always loved you. At first it was strictly platonic, you know, being best friends and all...but when I went off to drama school, I noticed how much I missed you. I missed your hugs, I missed your smile, I missed being close to you. I even missed things we never even did together. Well, missed is the wrong word here, I longed for them. But you not wanting to be friends with me anymore put a spoke in my wheel and I just let it go.”
“You can’t love me!”, you sputtered astonished. “I... I hate you a-and you hate me.”
“Wrong. I just said, I tried to hate you, but I couldn’t. Because I LOVE YOU.”, he declared, tightening his grip on you once more.
“Joe. You called me a cunt mere hours ago.”, you argued, letting out a confused laugh, new tears forming in the corners of your eyes. You were frustrated with all the new information your overstimulated brain had just received. How could he love you when he treated you like shit? You knew that he had just explained it to you, but you couldn’t fathom what was happening. He had hated you and now he didn’t, and you had learned to hate him...or had you? You instantly started to doubt yourself. Was it really hate you felt for him the past ten years or was it more about the deep hurt, anger, and sadness that had consumed you when you lost your best friend – the person you’d hoped would become your boyfriend? Maybe...you weren’t sure. You just continued staring at him, with a blank face and reddened eyes. A thousand thoughts spinning in your head.
“...and I’m really sorry for that, because you are not a cunt...you’re far from being one.”, he apologised wholeheartedly, hand still gently stroking your hair. “I’m so very sorry...for everything. The way I treated you was beyond cruel. I was young and dumb. But mostly I was hurt because of your constant avoidance, and instead of being the bigger person and seeking you out to find the root cause of it all, I treated you like shit.”
You just kept staring at him, blinking slowly. A few stray tears escaped the inner corners of your eyes and Joe looked back at you expectantly. A couple of moments passed where neither of you said a thing. With each passing second the tension between you increased and Joe grew more nervous, his unease became almost palpable. He had just bared his soul to you and your lack of a reaction lead him to believe that this whole thing was a grave mistake. Panic started to etch onto his face, and he suddenly seemed so vulnerable. You could practically read his thoughts - You really, really must hate him - which made your own blank expression soften slightly in response, and you knew what you needed to do in order to dispel his thoughts.
“Joe...”, you started slowly. “I...thank you...uhm, for apologising. It really means a lot to me. I want to apologise too. God, this is so stupid.”, you paused, letting out a quivering breath because you started to get all choked up again. “We were so stupid. Why are we so stupid?”, you asked, mostly yourself as you shook your head once, twice, three times. Joe was sitting still, waiting for you to continue with bated breath.
“I’m sorry. For immediately thinking you hated me and didn’t want anything to do with me anymore. I’m sorry for being mean and treating you like shit. I'm sorry for not reaching out to you to talk about it...I was just so hurt and confused...I’m sorry.”, you were now full on crying again and Joe pulled you closer to his chest once more, muffling your speech. “...Also, I’m sorry I said I hated you because to be frank, I don’t...I was just so very angry with you and the whole situation. I don’t hate you, Joe...I actually love you too and I have for so many years.... fuck, this is just a huge fucking misunderstanding because two dumb, insecure teenagers didn’t know how to communicate properly. I’m so sorry.”
Suddenly, you felt something wet on the crown of your hair and you slowly looked up and saw silent tears dripping from the tip of Joe’s nose. It was now your turn to tighten your arms, which had snuck their way around his torso.
You returning his previous affection made him sob faintly and he slowly opened his mouth, his scared, big brown eyes set on yours.
“I missed you so, so much.”, he whispered, now suddenly afraid someone could listen in on your conversation.
“I missed you too, so so much.”, you replied equally as soft. “I missed your hugs, and your smell, and your stupid fucking grin… but most of all I missed your useless facts about random places in London.”
The last point made Joe chortle out loud.
“Shut up, you didn’t miss those, you hated them.”
“Yeah, I hated them...still do.”, you replied, letting out a tearful chuckle.
Both of you let out a simultaneous sigh, leading to another round of giggles. As the laughter subsided, you shook your head once more and finally looked up at him. His eyes held a foreign sparkle. Not foreign in the sense that you hadn’t seen it before, because you had, but it had never been directed at you. The sparkle paired with a broad grin on his lips made your cheeks grow hot and you tried to avert your gaze. Before you could turn your head, his hand had snuck from your back to your jaw and held it in place.
“Can I kiss you?”, he inquired softly, caressing your jaw with his thumb.
“Yes.”, you responded firmly.
His lips met yours in a needy, salt-stained kiss which you eagerly reciprocated. A soft moan escaped your lips, encouraging Joe to deepen the kiss further. When you both ran out of breath, you reluctantly pulled back, your foreheads meeting in an intimate pause. The remnants of your kiss lingered, leaving Joe’s and your lips tinted rosy red and slightly swollen, small smiles of happiness gracing your mouths.
Just as you were about to lean in for another kiss, the door to the escape room opened, causing both you and Joe to quickly turn your heads towards it.
An obviously very pleased Zach, accompanied by a blushing Iris, stood in the doorway, holding up a sign that read:
CONGRATS, YOU MADE (IT) OUT!

PAIRING. yoon jeonghan x fem reader SUMMARY. two con artists falling in love. that's it. GENRE. angst, fluff, strangers to lovers W/C. 5.4k NOTE. this is heavily inspired by cowboy like me by ts.
*・゜゚(^O^)↝ my other works
i've established a fundamental rule for every man who enters my life—never inquire about a woman's salary, especially if you're not prepared for unexpected answers. equally important, never pry into her profession, as my own job defies easy categorization. it's a realm of uncertainty where providing a definitive answer becomes impossible. my friends have consistently cautioned me about the perils associated with this dubious line of work, but i've always possessed a natural talent for it. engaging in cunning schemes and orchestrating elaborate hustles, i've honed my skills in swindling older men and navigating the shadowy corners of the world.
i'm well aware that the consequences of my chosen path will eventually catch up to me, and it's likely that i will soon pay the price with the wealth from my old man of course. despite the risks, i find a certain thrill in the art of deception, even as the looming specter of retribution hangs over my head, a constant reminder that my actions may not go unpunished.
"didn't you promise me you'd stop doing this and find a real job?" my friend, vernon, asked with a tinge of disappointment in his eyes.
i paused, still in the process of packing my bags, and turned to face him, hands resting on my hips. he had rushed to my apartment when i mentioned that i'd be traveling to italy for a wedding that my old man had asked me to attend on his behalf, promising me money in return. of course, i agreed without hesitation.
"i need quick money right now, vernon," i explained, hoping he would understand the urgency.
"quick money? but you'll be spending a whole week there!" he exclaimed, concern evident in his voice.
"i'll be fine, i promise," i reassured him, trying to sound confident. "and this will be the last time, i swear." the words slipped out, and i knew that it was a promise i had made before, but this time, i wanted to believe it myself. i was determined to make a fresh start after this, to step away from the risky world of deception and embrace a different path. yet, in the back of my mind, doubt lingered like a shadow, a reminder of the allure and thrill that had kept me ensnared in my dubious endeavors for far too long.
vernon's concern deepened, his brow furrowing with worry. "and what if that old man catches on to your deception, hmm? you mentioned before that you feel like he's becoming a little suspicious of you," he reminded me.
i sighed, feeling the weight of his words and the gravity of the situation. "do you know why he asked me to go to italy on his behalf?" i began, my voice tinged with a mix of emotions. "it's because he's dying, vernon. his suspicions don't seem to matter much anymore when he's in the hospital, confined to limited movements." i paused for a moment, trying to process the irony of it all. despite everything, that old man still trusted me, even in his vulnerable state. it was both astonishing and absurd, a testament to the web of deception that i had skillfully woven.
suppressing a laugh that threatened to escape, i continued, "it's almost funny, isn't it? how he continues to place his faith in me, even when i'm not the most trustworthy person in the world." my words held a hint of self-awareness, an acknowledgment of the dichotomy between the trust others had in me and the deceit i had become accustomed to.
"but you won't do anything too risky, right?" vernon asked, genuine concern etched across his features.
"i'll be cautious, i promise," i assured him, trying to quell his worries. "i'll tread carefully this time, and once i'm back, i'll seriously start considering other options for my future."
vernon nodded, his gaze filled with understanding and a glimmer of hope. he had seen me through thick and thin, always hoping for the best for me. as we continued our conversation, i couldn't help but wonder if this trip to italy would be the catalyst for the transformation i so desperately sought, the chance to leave behind a life of deception and embrace the possibility of change. only time would tell if i could truly break free from the grasp of my dubious past and step into a future defined by authenticity and honesty.
vernon's worry deepened, his eyes reflecting concern as he voiced his fears.
"but what if that trip to italy is a trap, and he's planning to harm you? what if he's not as trusting as you think he is?"
i let out a scoff, shaking my head dismissively. "nah, that's not going to happen," i replied with a hint of nonchalance. "he's way too in love with me. he showers me with everything i want, from money to extravagant gifts. i've got him wrapped around my finger."
vernon's expression remained skeptical, clearly not convinced by my casual reassurance. "but you never know, these things can get dangerous," he cautioned.
"i'll be fine, vernon. trust me," i said, trying to sound more confident than i actually felt. while i might have been skilled at swindling and hustling, the risks were never lost on me. yet, the allure of easy money and luxury was hard to resist, and the dangerous game i played had become almost addictive.
vernon sighed, clearly worried but knowing that my mind was made up. "just promise me you'll be careful, okay? i don't want anything bad happening to you," he implored.
i gave him a small smile, touched by his concern. "i promise, i'll be cautious. and when i come back, i'll seriously consider finding a legitimate job," i assured him, hoping that one day, i could break free from the cycle of deceit and find a more honest path in life.
deep down, i knew the risks of my actions, and the consequences of my choices could catch up with me sooner or later. yet, for now, i couldn't resist the temptation of the easy money, and i was willing to take my chances, even if it meant living on the edge. only time would reveal the true price i would pay for my actions, but for now, the allure of luxury and power overshadowed any doubts i had about the dangers that lay ahead.

standing at the airport bar, i fought the urge to let exhaustion consume me. i had a flight to catch, and i couldn't afford to miss it. as i sipped on a cup of coffee, its bitter taste jolting me awake, i couldn't help but reflect on the promise i had made to vernon and, more importantly, to myself. after this trip to italy, i would put an end to the cycle of deceiving men and, in the process, deceiving myself.
the hum of conversations and the clatter of luggage filled the air around me as travelers bustled about, each with their own destination and purpose. it was in this bustling atmosphere that i found a moment of clarity, a chance to confront the choices i had made and the path i had chosen.
italy, with its romantic allure and lavish settings, seemed like the perfect place for me to reflect on my life. it was a place of beauty and indulgence, but it also carried the weight of my actions and the consequences i knew i had to face. as i waited for my flight, the anticipation mingled with a sense of unease, knowing that this trip would mark a turning point in my life.
i watched the clock ticking away, counting down the minutes until my departure. the exhaustion threatened to pull me into a slumber, but i resisted, determined not to let my guard down. this was my chance for redemption, for reclaiming my authenticity and finding a path that didn't rely on deception and manipulation.
the memories of the men i had fooled and the lies i had spun danced through my mind, serving as a stark reminder of the emptiness that lay beneath the surface. the allure of material wealth and the thrill of manipulation had lost their luster, leaving behind a hollow ache that called for something more meaningful and genuine.
as i prepared to board the plane, i made a silent vow to myself. this trip would mark the end of an era, the final chapter of a life built on lies and illusions. it was time to redefine my identity, to find a purpose beyond swindling and hustling. i craved a life where authenticity and integrity took precedence over quick money and fleeting pleasures.
with each step i took toward the boarding gate, a sense of determination and renewal washed over me. i was ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, leaving behind the shadows of my past and embracing a future filled with honesty and genuine connections.
as i settled into my seat on the plane, the engines humming in the background, i closed my eyes and envisioned a new chapter unfolding before me. italy awaited, not just as a picturesque backdrop, but as a symbol of transformation and redemption. it was here, amidst the rich history and vibrant culture, that i would find the strength to let go of my old ways and embrace a life defined by truth and authenticity.
the plane soared into the sky, carrying me closer to my destination and to the promise of a fresh start. with each passing moment, i could feel the weight of my past choices lifting, replaced by a glimmer of hope and the belief that i could rewrite my story.
italy beckoned, and i was ready to answer its call, ready to face the challenges that awaited me with newfound determination and an unwavering commitment to change.
———————
draped in my elegant brown silk dress and a luxurious fur scarf adorning my shoulders, i scanned the surroundings, taking in every detail and every individual present. the tennis court, usually a place of athletic competition, was now concealed under a vast tent-like structure, transforming it into a lavish setting for the gathering of the fabulously wealthy. as i mingled among the opulent crowd, their chit-chat filled the air, each conversation seemingly a display of privilege and excess. amidst the extravagance, i felt like an outsider, desperately searching for a glimmer of authenticity or a soul that resonated with my own.
in the midst of the sparkling affluence, i yearned for something out of place, something that would mirror the way i felt within this sea of wealth and pretense. despite my chic attire and seemingly effortless composure, i sensed a disconnection, as if i didn't quite belong in this world of opulence. as i observed the interactions around me, i couldn't help but feel like an anomaly, an intruder in this realm of excess. yet, amid the sea of superficiality, i held onto the hope of finding a kindred spirit, someone who, like me, sought authenticity amidst the facade.
as if guided by fate, my gaze fell upon a figure that stood out amidst the crowd, effortlessly captivating the attention of a group of accomplished women. his long, flowing black hair danced in the gentle breeze, a striking contrast to the sophisticated setting. i couldn't help but notice his captivating smile, a smile that mirrored the charm and allure i employed in my dealings with older, wealthier men. it was a smile that concealed secrets, shared understanding, and a shared purpose.
intrigued, i took note of his attire, which stood in stark contrast to the designer labels that adorned most of the guests. his suit, though not designer, exuded an air of confidence and nonconformity. in that moment, a spark of recognition ignited within me, revealing a kindred spirit. i understood that he, like me, had joined this gathering for the same purpose—to swindle the old and affluent. it's like the universe had conspired to bring us together, two souls navigating the delicate dance of deception amidst a sea of privilege.
as our eyes locked, it felt as if he had uncovered the secrets that lay hidden within me. there was an unspoken understanding that passed between us, a mutual recognition of the deceptive paths we had chosen. his approach filled me with a mix of excitement and trepidation, uncertain of what this encounter might entail.
with a boldness that mirrored my own, he asked, "care to dance?" his words carried an air of challenge, as if daring me to venture into the dangerous territory of intimacy.
"dancing is a pretty dangerous game," i replied, offering him my hand nonetheless. i couldn't deny the allure of this intriguing stranger, and in that moment, i decided to embrace the perilous dance that fate had orchestrated. with each step on the dance floor, i knew that i was willingly entangling myself in a web of deception and desire, aware of the risks, yet captivated by the undeniable connection we shared. together, we moved to the rhythm of the music, two kindred spirits lost in a world of shadows and secrets.
"what do they call you?" i inquired, fully aware that he wouldn't reveal his true identity.
"why do you want to know me?" he responded, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"oh, i know who you are, or rather, what you are," i replied, a hint of mystery lacing my words.
"jeonghan," he revealed, the corners of his lips curling into a playful smile. "and you are?"
"y/n," i divulged, surprised by my own willingness to share my real name. there was something about him that inspired a sense of openness, a desire to let down the barriers and reveal my true self. in this clandestine dance we were engaged in, honesty became a dangerous yet irresistible allure.
as the music swirled around us, i found myself entranced by the rhythm of the dance, not caring about the curious gazes or whispered speculations from onlookers. in that moment, all that mattered was the connection i felt with jeonghan, the exhilaration of living in the present and embracing the unexpected.
our bodies moved in perfect harmony, as if we had danced together countless times before. the world around us faded into the background, and it was just us—two strangers bound by secrets, drawn together by a shared purpose.
as the afternoon sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the scene, i couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment. this was my last dance, my final foray into a world of deception and illusion. the allure of quick money and the thrill of swindling were losing their grip on me, replaced by a desire for something more genuine, something real.
as the last notes of the music filled the air, we slowly came to a stop, still holding each other close. i looked into jeonghan's eyes, feeling an unspoken connection between us. it was a connection forged in the shadows, a shared understanding of the life we had led and the choices we had made.
"care to escape the crowd for a while?" jeonghan inquired, a playful glint in his eyes, after our dance had ended.
"absolutely," i replied with a hint of excitement, feeling drawn to this enigmatic stranger. without hesitation, he extended his hand, and i willingly placed mine in his, letting him lead me away from the bustling venue. it was a daring move, following someone i had just met, but an inexplicable connection urged me to take this leap into the unknown.
together, we ventured out into the serene countryside, the distant music fading into the background as we strolled along the quiet, deserted roads. the air was cool and refreshing, the gentle breeze caressing our faces like a gentle reminder of the freedom we had found in each other's company. with every step, it felt as if the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, our souls entwined in a moment of shared intimacy and understanding.
curiosity tinged my voice as i questioned jeonghan about his familiarity with the secluded surroundings. "how do you know this place?" i inquired, hoping to unravel the mystery behind his intimate knowledge.
a playful smile curved his lips as he confessed, "i've been here for over a week, exploring the hidden corners and secret gems that this countryside has to offer." his response intrigued me, raising more questions than answers. what had brought him to this remote location? what secrets did he carry within him?
turning the tables, jeonghan posed a question of his own, his gaze fixed on me with an intense curiosity. "why are you here?" he asked, his voice laced with genuine intrigue. it was a query that delved deeper than the mere physical presence in this particular place.
caught off guard by his question, i hesitated for a moment, unsure of how much i should reveal. but something in his eyes, a glimmer of understanding, encouraged me to be honest. "someone asked me to be here," i confessed, my voice filled with a mix of resignation and defiance. it was an acknowledgment of the role i had played, the choices i had made, and the path i had walked until this moment.
a knowing smile played on jeonghan's lips, and his words lingered in the air like a delicate secret shared between two kindred souls. "i know what you are, y/n," he uttered, his voice carrying a weight of wisdom and experience.
a flicker of surprise danced across my features as his words hit their mark. it was an unexpected revelation, a mirror reflecting the truth i had concealed beneath layers of secrecy. in that moment, our connection deepened, as if we were two sides of the same coin, united by our shared understanding of the world we had chosen to navigate.
a mischievous gleam sparkled in his eyes as he countered my confession with a cryptic response, "it takes one to know one." his words held a sense of truth and recognition, unveiling the hidden layers of our identities that we had sought to protect. in this dance of mystery and intrigue, we stood as equals, each harboring our own secrets, united in our unspoken understanding of the shadows we both inhabited.
"engaged in the art of hustling for a better life, weaving intricate tales tailored to their desires," he disclosed, peering into the depths of my existence with a knowing gaze. his words seemed to peel away the layers of my life, exposing the intricacies that lay beneath the surface.
his voice carried a hint of admiration as he remarked, "you're just like me, driven by a single aspiration. nothing else but a taste of luxury, perhaps a fancy car to symbolize our triumph." in that moment, it felt as if our souls had connected, recognizing a shared pursuit of dreams and aspirations that transcended societal norms and expectations.
i breathed in the cool evening air, contemplating my confession. "this will be my last one, you know?" i admitted, my voice tinged with a mix of resolve and uncertainty.
jeonghan raised an eyebrow, his gaze never leaving mine. "your conscience is starting to eat you?" he speculated, seemingly trying to understand my motivations.
"no," i replied firmly, shaking my head. "it's just that... i've realized there's more to life than this. i want to break free from this cycle, from lies and deception. i want something different, something real." as the words left my lips, i could feel a glimmer of hope blossoming within me, the possibility of a new path emerging from the ashes of my past.
his laughter cut through the air, a mixture of amusement and cynicism. "well, good luck with that," he chuckled, his voice laced with a hint of skepticism. "you can never really escape from this, you know? i'm sure you understand deep down that you'll soon pay for your lies. so why bother stopping?"
i met his gaze, my determination unyielding. "because i refuse to be defined by my past mistakes," i replied, my voice steady. "i may have been caught in this web of deception, but i believe there's a chance for redemption. i want to find my own truth, my own path, even if it means breaking free from the comfort of this lifestyle. i want to create a future that's not built on deceit and illusion."
jeonghan's eyes searched mine, a mix of curiosity and disbelief flickering within them. "it's a dangerous game we play," he murmured, his voice tinged with a touch of resignation. "but if you're determined to find a different path, then i won't stand in your way. just be prepared for the consequences that await."
with a nod, i acknowledged his warning, aware of the challenges and risks that lay ahead. yet, deep within me, a flicker of hope burned brightly, driving me to seek a life of authenticity and purpose. as jeonghan and i stood there, on the outskirts of the countryside, we both carried our own burdens and desires, each embarking on a journey that would test the limits of our resolve and reshape our destinies.
"how about you?"
a wistful smile crossed his lips as he shook his head. "oh, no, no. this is my life now," he replied, his voice tinged with a mix of resignation and acceptance. "i've traveled too far down this path to turn back. swindling, hustling—it's become my way of survival."
i could sense the weight of his words, the burden of a life immersed in deception. it was a stark reminder of the choices we make and the consequences they entail. while i sought a chance at redemption, jeonghan appeared resigned to his fate.
"anyway, about the man who sent you here, do you worry that he might discover your deception? i mean, you plan to leave once everything is done."
"well, i won't make a quick exit. once i secure the money in a week, i might extend my stay here for a little while longer. but honestly, i couldn't care less about him."
"what's amusing is that he genuinely believed i was the one for him," i added.
———————
in the few weeks that passed, as our conversations deepened and our connection grew stronger, it felt as if jeonghan and i were bound by an invisible thread, drawn together by an inexplicable force. despite the brevity of our encounter here in italy, it was as though we had known each other for a lifetime. the barriers of deceit that we had carefully constructed around ourselves seemed to crumble in the presence of our shared understanding.
late-night conversations turned into early morning musings as we explored the intricacies of our lives and the desires that lay hidden beneath the surface. it was as if we could read each other's thoughts without uttering a single word. our interactions transcended the realm of superficiality, delving into the depths of our souls, where vulnerability and authenticity resided.
the days passed in a blur as we reveled in the joy of this newfound connection. the enchanting conversations and the understanding that unfolded between us left me yearning for more, eager to discover the depths of jeonghan's soul and to share the complexities of my own.
as our bond deepened, i found myself opening up about the life i had led, the choices i had made, and the reasons that had driven me to become a hustler. jeonghan, too, shared the secrets of his past, the shadows that had shaped his present, and the dreams that lingered within his heart.
with each passing day, it became clear that jeonghan and i were kindred spirits, seeking solace in each other's company, even amidst a world of deception and duplicity. our connection was rooted in a shared understanding of the emptiness that lurked beneath the surface of our extravagant lifestyles, a void that could only be filled by genuine connections and authentic experiences.
as we strolled along the familiar road, hand in hand, i couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort in jeonghan's presence. the gentle breeze rustled our hair, carrying with it the sweet scent of the countryside. passing by, i noticed a group of curious ladies sharing hushed whispers and intrigued glances as they observed us. it seemed our connection had not gone unnoticed, but their curiosity was of little concern to us.
"what really is your name?" i asked, my fingers interlocked with his.
a soft chuckle escaped jeonghan's lips, amusement dancing in his eyes. "i already told you the first time we met, y/n," he replied, a touch of playfulness evident in his response. his voice, like a gentle melody, brought a sense of familiarity, as if we were revisiting the moment we first encountered each other in italy.
i had initially believed that my encounter with jeonghan would be just another fleeting moment in my life, but now i realize that it has changed me in ways i never expected. he showed me the possibility of genuine connection, and i've come to the realization that i may never experience love again. however, this moment also marks the end of my deceptive ways. from now on, i'm committed to being truthful and sincere in all my actions and relationships.
as i reflect on my newfound commitment to honesty, i can't help but be plagued by uncertainties about jeonghan's true intentions. despite my declaration to leave behind my deceitful ways, i wonder if he shares the same perspective. is he genuinely on the same page as me, or does he view me differently from the people he usually interacts with in his games? am i truly special to him, or am i just another player in his world?
these questions linger in my mind, causing a mix of excitement and trepidation. i find myself analyzing every interaction, trying to discern if his feelings match mine. as we continue to spend time together, i observe the small gestures, the lingering glances, and the moments of shared laughter. they all hint at a deeper connection, but i remain cautious not to let my heart run wild with assumptions.
like the elusive hanging gardens of babylon, whose existence remains a mystery with only written accounts to rely on, i find myself clinging to the words of jeonghan, the person i've come to love. yet, doubt and uncertainty cloud my heart, mirroring the ambiguity that shrouds those ancient gardens.
with each passing day, my emotions hang delicately in the balance, swaying between hope and fear. i yearn to believe that jeonghan is sincere, but a lingering unease gnaws at my soul. like the whispers of ancient tales, the cautionary voices of my past experiences caution me against trusting too easily.
but despite the shadows of doubt, i choose to stay, entangled in the tender moments we share. my heart longs for the promise of love, even as the world around us feels uncertain and veiled. the fragile threads of our connection hold me captive, as i navigate the intricacies of falling for someone whose truth i cannot fully grasp.
in the midst of this emotional maze, i remain suspended, clinging to the spoken word, hoping that the beauty of our love will transcend the uncertainties and blossom like the mythical gardens of babylon. yet, beneath it all, a melancholic undercurrent persists, as i wonder if our love is destined to be as elusive and enigmatic as the ancient wonders of the world.
as my doubts and worries consumed me, jeonghan's perceptive nature picked up on my silent contemplation, prompting him to break the silence with his heartfelt words.
"you know, y/n," he began, his voice laced with a blend of sincerity and conviction. "i firmly believe that each person is granted three significant chances in their lifetime, pivotal moments that shape their destiny. and i am unequivocally certain that you, y/n, are the most significant turning point in mine."
his words washed over me, carrying a weight and significance that pierced through the walls of my uncertainty. i gazed into his eyes, searching for any sign of deceit, but all i found was sincerity and vulnerability. jeonghan's admission left me at a crossroads, torn between my apprehensions and the undeniable connection we shared.
"three chances?" i repeated softly, my heart fluttering with both hope and trepidation. the notion of being a pivotal figure in his life stirred a mix of emotions within me, wondering if i could truly embrace such a role.
"yes," he continued, his voice steady and earnest. "i've spent so much of my life playing games and deceiving others, but you've changed something in me. i can't quite explain it, but i feel like you've given me a chance at something real, something genuine."
the vulnerability in his words struck a chord deep within me. i had always believed in second chances, but the idea of being one of his three felt both daunting and meaningful. part of me yearned to believe in the possibility of a transformative connection, while another part remained guarded, afraid to get swept up in the whirlwind of emotions.
as the words hung in the air, the weight of the moment became palpable. i could feel the gravity of our connection, the potential for something profound and life-changing. but was i ready to take that leap of faith, to trust that his intentions were as sincere as he claimed?
"i don't want to play games with you, jeonghan," i confessed, my voice tinged with vulnerability.
he smiled, "thank you for dancing with me a few weeks ago, y/n."
as jeonghan spoke those words, a rush of emotions washed over me, reminding me of the moment our paths had intertwined on that fateful day. "you're welcome," i replied softly, my heart beating a little faster at the memory. "it was a beautiful dance."
he smiled, that same enchanting smile that had captivated me from the start. "i can't help but feel that it was more than just a dance," he said, his gaze lingering on mine.
i swallowed the lump in my throat, unable to deny the truth in his words. that dance had been a catalyst, the beginning of a connection that had blossomed into something meaningful. "perhaps you're right," i admitted, a hint of vulnerability seeping into my voice.
"y/n, i want you to know that you've changed my life," he continued, his sincerity shining through. "since the moment we met, i knew there was something different about you. you've given me a chance to be true to myself, to leave behind the life of deception i had grown accustomed to."
his words touched my heart, and i couldn't help but feel the weight of the responsibility he had placed on our newfound connection. "i'm glad i could be a part of that change for you," i said softly, my fingers gently intertwining with his.
"you're not just a part of it, y/n. you're the reason behind it all," he said, his eyes never leaving mine. "you've shown me the beauty of honesty, of vulnerability, and i don't want to let that go."
my heart swelled with emotion, overwhelmed by the depth of his feelings and the significance of our bond. "i don't want to let go either," i whispered, my voice filled with sincerity.
in that moment, we stood on the precipice of a new beginning, two souls drawn together by the allure of authenticity and genuine connection. the weight of our pasts seemed to fade away as we embraced the promise of a future built on trust and openness.
as the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the horizon, jeonghan and i stood hand in hand, ready to embark on a journey of love and healing. the gardens of babylon might have been a mythical wonder, but the love we had discovered in each other was real and tangible, a beautiful oasis blooming amidst the deserts of our pasts. together, we would nurture this love, tending to its delicate petals and allowing it to flourish in the warmth of our hearts. and in this newfound love, we found solace, knowing that we had both finally found our way home.
