Tease Tidbit Tuesday đĽ
The end of season 7 gave me the perfect setup for one of the prompts for Five Alarm Fest (at the firehouse)
âCome on,â Buck goads. âYouâve never literally wanted to say fuck you to Gerrard?â And then he dives back in for Tommyâs mouth. âI didnât. Picture. Doing it. Quite. Like this,â Tommy murmurs between kisses. But his fingers are digging into the meat of Buckâs shoulders, keeping him close.
What oh what could they be up to?

wip wednesday - buddie miscommunicate
tagged by @loveyouanyway đĽ°
this is very rough because I only had the idea recently and I haven't had time to actually work on it yet (aside from jotting down the idea) but I'm really excited about it!
my promo/summary for it atm is:
Buck: we should talk about what happens next [how being a couple is going to work] Eddie: I'm not ready for anything else [you just fucked me so well I'm gonna need 5-10 business days to recover, please no more right now]
and here's a rough dialogue outline:
"We should talk about what happens next."
"Next?? Buck⌠I'm not ready for anything else."
"OhâŚ"
"What on earth about this-" gestures to self "-made you think I'd be ready for more?"
Buck withdrawing. Sad.
"Okay. Sorry. I just⌠thought you'd want more than this. But whatever."
"Buck, I'm tired."
"Yeah. Me too." Getting up and grabbing clothes.
"Where are you going?"
"Home."
"Why?"
"Because you don't want more."
Eddie gobsmacked. "So you're just LEAVING?"
"Yeah. And I don't wanna do this again."
"Wait, what? Never?"
"No."
Eddie can't even find words.
"Buck! You don't⌠you don't have to leave. That was, what we just did, it was amazing!"
"Yeah well I hope you enjoyed it, cause it's not happening again."
"Are you serious?"
Buck leaves.
(it will have a happy ending I promise, I just have to make them suffer first)

WIP Wednesday | Tagged by @josephseedismyfather and @simplegenius042 â¤ď¸
This week we're diving in some Leslie and Cal shenanigans, and then stopping by for a visit at the Ryes. â¤ď¸
"So, I see your morning has been going well.", Leslie noted with amusement the second the door of the bar closed behind them. Calahan snorted a laugh as he picked up Zorro and headed towards his truck, "If you count having the woman you like almost walking in on you when you're about to be butt nakedâŚ", he shook his head at his companion's raised eyebrow, "What?" Leslie came to a stop by the passenger side door and popped it open for him, "Not a problem I've faced before." "No?" "Were you like⌠trying to seduce her?", the words left him slowly, like he wasn't sure if he wanted to ask the question. Calahan shot him a wink as he placed Zorro in the seat, "What do you think?" "Probably not⌠and that it won't even work with her." Tell me about it, chief. "Yeah." The simple but very true statement bounced around his mind as he climbed behind the wheel and tugged at the seat belt with more force than necessary. The pent-up frustration was beginning to get to him, especially when he couldn't imagine taking to bed anyone but her. You're messing with my head, Angel. It's not good. Zorro eyed him as if sensing his souring mood, and Calahan couldn't help but crack a smile, "Feeling like visiting uncle Nick, my boy?"
The slam of the car door cut him off and he watched Leslie settle in the backseat before he muttered, "Sorry." "What for, chief?" "For what I said about Mary MayâŚ" Hartley waved him off, turning the key in the ignition, "It was the truth." "I think she likes you." Two pair of blue eyes met in the rearview mirror as Calahan backed away from the Spread Eagle's parking spot, "Yeah?" "She certainly looks at you the way I wished Rina would look at me someday." His confession wasn't all too shocking after how he had spoken about Sabrina the night before with the alcohol loosening his tongue and letting the hurt slip out a little. He must have seen something in Hartley's eyes because he rushed to add, "I'm over that." "Even if you ain't⌠I'm not judging." Leslie cleared his throat as he shifted his gaze out of his window, "Where are we headed? You said NickâŚ" "Nick Rye. I have to drop him off some spare parts for his truck since Gus and the boys fled the Garage. Plus, it's always good to check on him and Kim. John has them on his list." Calahan felt the sigh that left his new partner when they passed by a group of cultists rounding up civillians in the back of a van, "He's probably laughing at all of us from his bunker."
"He won't be for long. I promise you that.", he said and hit on the breaks sharply, the screech of the tires making the two Peggies and their hostages look up as he came to a halt behind them. The Eden's gate truck he was driving served its purpose, winning him a couple of extra seconds where they didn't react by reaching out for their weapons, or at least that's what he blamed their inaction on. "Get down, my boy.", was all Hartley shouted before he swung his door open and jumped out with Leslie in toll. "Brother Jo-", one of the Peggies uttered out in confusion, not getting a chance to finish whatever he was about to say thanks to Calahan's fist connecting with his face. Parish took down his buddy as he was reaching for his walkie to call back-up. "Aye, Leslie, see what I mean about using you as decoy?" "Very funny." "It would work. You can straight up march into his bunker and they'd be none the wiser." "Sure, past the first gate. Then I'd be dead." Calahan rolled his eyes as he walked over to the civilians and pulled out his switchblade, "Not if we have the right outfit. Come on, Detective, doesn't your kind love going undercover?" One by one the men and women were freed of their zip ties, muttering quiet thank yous before scrambling down the road towards Falls End. "Stay safe, people.", he called out after their retreating forms.
Leslie released a groan and sent a hateful look at John's billboard ahead of them, "I'm not dressing as John Seed, Calahan." Hartley looked up from the man he was meticulously tying up, "For now." "Ever." "We will see." Seconds later the two Peggies were in the place of the people they were planning on kidnapping: defenceless and restrained in the back of the Eden's Gate marked van. "What do we do with them?", Leslie asked as he slammed the doors shut and secured the lock. "I'm gonna call in my buddy. Oakley's gonna make sure we get whatever information we can out of them. It ain't everyday we get potential alive informants." "Think they know about Sabrina?" Hartley raised the walkie to his mouth, "Doubtful. Come in, Moore. Over." Silence filled the other line but it wasn't long before Oakley Moore's modulated voice broke it, "Rookie. Listenin'." "I have a package for you, just outside Fall's End near the fucker's billboard. Two 'volunteers' for pick-up." A haunting chuckle mixed with the static, "You know how to start my morning just right, buddy. I will be right there. Over and out."
"So⌠Oakley?" Calahan smirked as he patted Zorro's head before starting the truck, "John's not the only one who can make people talk and spill out their secrets." And Moore was damn good at it, never turning down an opportunity to unleash her anger about the Project going after her grandparents and forcing her to come back to Montana after working as a private military contractor overseas. "Now I'm curious to meet him." He bit back a smile at the incorrect assumption and the chaos it could emerge from it at the introduction. He could almost picture Parish's expression when he inevitably would realize the mistake he had made. It would be priceless. Popcorn worthy even. Oakley would love it too. "Can be arranged. Though, Oakley is someone we need to warn in advance if you don't want to be taken out for good when your pretty face gets mistaken for John Seed's." "I'm starting to think I should shave." Calahan's eyes scanned the road ahead of them, watching out for more targets, "And ruin our plan for infiltration? No." "Your plan.", Leslie corrected him, "That you devised after getting drunk yesterday." "Most of my plans are conconted that way, chief."
Parish pursed his lips, "From all the people you folks had to decide I look likeâŚ" "You still ain't gonna admit you're a dead-ringer for good old Johnny?" "Am not." Calahan's fingers drummed on the steering wheel as he turned on the radio and "Oh, John" boomed from the speakers, filling the truck and making Leslie swear out loud. "Oh, Leslie, bold and brave, agree to march over to Johnny's GATEEEEâŚ", Hartley sang over the usual lyrics, meeting Zorro's dark gaze, "He looks like John, right, my boy? Even the universe agrees, Parish." The torture with cult songs didn't proceed much further since he himself couldn't tolerate them, so he switched to his usual station, humming along the song that came on. Leslie's head poked in between the seats as they took the turn, leading up to Nick's property, "Should I prepare myself to be punched in the face or worse upon meeting the Ryes?" "ErmâŚ" "Doesn't sound good." "Nick and John don't get along. Just stay behind me, and you should be fine." "Should?" Calahan shrugged, "I can't predict the future, chief." "And Nick, he's a pilot?", Leslie asked as they went under the gate marked with a "Rye & Sons Aviation" sign. "Yeah. Used to give tours, offer deliveries before everything went to hell. Gray even took Tiny for a visit once, she wouldn't stop talking how uncle Nick promised she'd fly with him next time." "Fuck."
"Yeah.", Hartley cleared his throat, willing for the gut-wrenching feeling that swooped in anytime he thought of Savannah to dissipate, "Everything will be alright." It had to be. He couldn't imagine losing anyone else to the Project. As he pulled into the driveway, the first thing his eyes stopped on was an all-too-familiar crude mark sprayed over the white siding of the Rye's house. "Sinner.", Leslie read out loud, "You weren't kidding about them being on his list." His words were a hopeless statement, and Calahan couldn't help but dread finding the house empty the next time he'd stop by. That the Ryes would vanish like Ms. Darcy and so many others, the numbers only growing since the start of the Reaping. "I'd be damned if he takes them, too.", he muttered darkly as he reached around to let Zorro's out first, who lasted no time to start sniffing around one of his favorite places in the Valley. "Nicky, y'all awake?", Calahan called out as he slammed his door shut, the sound of Leslie's echoing simultaneously, "Stay behind me, chief." "You sure they're here?", Parish asked in a low voice, "What if-" "Nothing's out of place, Leslie. Nick would put up a fight if John's fuckers had stopped by." He couldn't in fact imagine a not-so-friendly visit not leaving behind any traces, not with how much Nick Rye had to protect.
The two watched as the front door swung open and Calahan breathed out a sigh of relief at the confirmation his friend was alright for the time being. Nick took a second to stare at the house's extrerior before descending down the small set of stairs, hollering back, "Rookie" and reached out a hand for Hartley to shake. "I'd ask you to fine the bastard for defacing my property, but ain't the times different now.", he added quickly, noticing for the first time Calahan had brought along company. "Nick. Before-" "Holy fuck.", Nick exclaimed in surprise, his tone making Hartley reach out his hand to stop a potential assault from taking place. Maybe I should let him shave⌠"I know he looks like a certain someone. But he's far more pleasant, I promise." "Rookie-" "Leslie Parish,", Calahan slipped into his usual introductions, "Nick Rye. Nicky, Les is a friend of Sabrina's. A detective, nonetheless." He could feel Parish cautiously inching closer until he was standing by his side and a hand was offered to Nick in a greeting, "Pleasure to meet you." The man's aviators were doing too good of a job of concealing his eyes and any indication of where the encounter might go. Second ticked by before a smile spread across his face and he grasped Leslie's palm, "Well, if that ain't something I didn't think I'd see. KIM." "What?", a faint voice carried from inside the house. "Come and greet our guests."
"Guests?", Kim's question was accompanied by the creak of door as she peeked outside, then as she noticed the people standing in her driveway she walked over with a hand cradling her very pregnant belly. "Hello there." "Not John Seed." Kim rolled her eyes at Calahan's automatic warning, "Figured that, Rookie. I'd accept the world is ending the day I see you and John in such close promixity." "Kim Rye.", she announced when she turned to Leslie, "Hope my husband here didn't do anything drastic." "Ah, Kim, I was on my best behavior.", Nick argued, looking at Calahan quickly, "Help me a little here, partner." Leslie just gazed between the two in amusement, "No, m'am. Leslie, Leslie Parish, nice to meet you." "Well, aren't you the sweetest. Come on, enough standing around out here.", her eyes darted around the yard until they stopped on Zorro, who was swatting away at a butterfly, "Glad to see you got him out." "My boy bit off a Peggie's finger, Kimmy.", Calahan said proudly as the group climbed onto the porch. "He truly is your kid, Rookie.", Kim replied with a smirk as Nick let out a laugh and asked, "Think our son would hate John and his men as much, baby?" She sent him a glaring stare, "We talked about this already." "Aye, woman, technology ain't always right." "Nick!", Kim called out after his retreating form as he breezed into the house and disappered in the direction of their kitchen. "Won't convince me, until baby Rye is in my arms, Kim.", he shouted back.
Calahan could tell Leslie was doing his hardest to be polite and not chuckle at the exchange as they followed closely behind Kim. "Sit. Sit, you two.", she pointed at the kitched table as she opened the fridge, "Beers? Shit. Or is it too early? Coffee?" Nick nodded, "I will get those, you sit down, too." Calahan watched the two exchange a look, the type that oftentimes filled him with a sense of longing in the recent days and made him wonder if he'd ever have what they had. Jesus. Am I getting old? Is it too late to ask for that beer? Or something stronger⌠"Thank you.", Leslie muttered as Nick placed a cup of coffee in front of him. "So, a friend of Sabrina's ending up in Hope County-", he started, taking a seat next to Kim and grabbing her hand in his. "Any news?", Kim interjected his small talk attempt, worry slipping into her gaze.
"No.", Calahan hated it was all he had to offer anytime anyone inquired about Sabrina. Nick leaned in, like there was anyone around to overhear, "And Harker⌠he's positive it was her?" "With John Seed from all people.", Kim shook her head, the same way she had when she first had heard the news, "Why would she even?" "He said so. I showed him a picture, I needed to know for certain." "How reliable is he on Bliss?" "Nick." "What? All I'm saying, is you know how potent that shit is. People have seen Bigfoot on it, for Christ's sake, Kim."
The whole time Leslie sipped his coffee without a word, his frown only growing deeper. "Savannah was with them.", Calahan reminded them with a scowl of his own. "He left us a note to go with his other "we're coming for you next" message, you know." Kim sighed, "Nick." But her appeal didn't stop him from getting up and retrieving a folded piece of paper that he passed over to Calahan. "He really thinks by marking my house, he'd scare me into joining them. Claims he cares for the "three" of us, Rookie. Fuck, we should have left when we had the chance, Kim barely sleeps as is." "We're not leaving. We talked about this, too." "And have him go after our son once he's born? Parade us around like he's doing with Hudson?" His words won another eyeroll from Kim, "Daughter." Calahan stared at the letter, scanning over John's no doubt carefully selected words. The empty reassurances were something the Baptist loved using as a tool, how he had convinced so many to join him: by instilling fear and promising safety, when he himself was the danger.
Nick, The Collapse I talked to you about has started. I know you want to protect YOUR FAMILY. The only way to do this is by joining OUR FAMILY. Our bunkers have everything Kim & Baby Rye will need to survive. There are dozens of expecting mothers and children here already with us. This is my final plea to you. Say YES. John Seed
"Want me to send someone over as back-up, Nicky? Give you two some peace of mind." "I can protect my family, Rookie. Would at any cost. You know that." "I know.", Calahan nodded as he placed the letter back on the table, "But⌠if you need any help, just say the words." Nick took off his sunglasses, rubbing at his eyes tiredly, "Thank you, partner." "Did you two pick out a name yet?", Leslie broke the heavy silence that had fallen over the room, his question making Kim groan out loud while Nick beamed at the in he had unknowingly granted him. "Oh, here we go." "We've been making a list, actually. Agreed each would get 6 names for boy and girl." Calahan just bit back a smile, having heard a version of Nick's name ideas already, but back then the list had been longer.
Leslie gave him a small nod, "I assume John is off the table." "Hell yes.", Nick raised a hand, counting the names as Calahan drummed his fingers on the table for dramatic effect, "So for boy, we have Nick Jr., Nick II, Ace, Pilot, Gunner and Wingman." Parish chuckled, "Naturally." "I, of course, deeply feel like baby Rye would be a boy. But Kim, here, insisted I have back-ups in case it's notâŚ" Kim send her husband a warning look, "Were you not with me at the ultrasound appointment, Nicholas?" "That was on a messy black and white TV screen. You know them things ain't reliable." "We're having a daughter, Leslie. Nick is just still in denial he won't be handing off the business to a son. Breaking a little tradition they had going on." "It's not certain yet.", Nick insisted, "And anyways⌠if, and that's a huge if, baby Rye turns out to be a girl, I narrowed the names to Nicole, Nicola, Nikita, Nikki, Nicky and Nicoletta." "Cute.", Calahan noted, knowing no matter what name or gender baby Rye had, they would be loved unmeasurably. "Don't encourage him, Rookie, please." "Who do you think helped me with my first list, Kim?" Kim patted his hand, aiming to change the subject away from the name picks, "Ah, Leslie, you know Sabrina was the first person to guess we will be having a girl. Took one look at my belly on her last visit and said how she couldn't wait to meet my daughter. Nicky did his best to convince her her feeling was wrong, but then we went to the ultrasoundâŚ" Her revelation made Leslie crack a smile, "Rina's always been intuitive. Our captain hated to see her go, probably hoped if I come to visit her, she'd change her mind and return."

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @shitouttabuck & @gracieryder đâ¨
how many works do you have on ao3?
currently itâs at 60, but i have orphaned and deleted a lot of them over the years.
whatâs your total ao3 wordcount?
1,046,863
what fandoms do you write for?
currently 9-1-1 & better call saul!
top 5 fics by kudos:
i like you so much (itâs kinda gross)
still
of bakesales and overdue realizations
epiphanies, soft words, and hushed moans at the brink of dawn
gettinâ bi
do you respond to comments?
depends on the fandom! on my lacho fics, i tend to respond a lot more, because itâs a much smaller fandom and itâs easier to keep up. i donât respond as much on my buddie/bucktommy fics because the comments roll in faster and i feel bad responding to some but not all and then i feel like itâs been too long and just- ah. but i read each and every one and iâm twirling my hair and giggling, kicking my feet.
whatâs the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
for whom the bell tolls
whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
i usually do happy endings, so i canât quite pick one!
do you get hate on fics?
meh. at times. a couple times a year, if that.
do you write smut?
have we met
craziest crossover?
iâve never posted a crossover but i have a lot of them in my head always. tommy kinard x jesse pinkman my beloved. someday.
have you ever had a fic stolen?
oh yes. not in a while though as far as iâm aware.
have you ever had a fic translated?
yes!! but i donât remember which one it was and i canât find it so i assume itâs one of the ones i deleted or orphaned.
have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes
all time favorite ship?
buddie and lacho tied, theyâre completely different vibes. if i had to pick i think it would be lacho.
whatâs a wip you want to finish but doubt that you will?
the buddie fic where they struggle to have sex for the first time cause thereâs so much pressure and they both canât get it up. itâs at 15k atm but i havenât touched it in months.
what are your writing strength?
characterization, iâd say. itâs the most important thing to me, i work really hard on it and i think it pays off. if i write a line i need to be able to hear them say it in my head.
whatâs your writing weakness?
i canât be concise for shit. if they fuck for 2 hours you will sit there and read it for 2 hours i donât know how to do anything differently.
thoughts on dialogue in a different language?
once again, since characterization is so important to me, if the character regularly speaks a different language in canon, my fics will reflect it. not only do i have lalo speaking a lot of spanish in my lacho fics, but i also try to research and ask my friends to make it as close to his actual vocabulary as possible.
first fandom you wrote for?
jack x ennis from brokeback mountain i believe?
favorite fic you have written?
for whom the bell tolls. still is good also but itâs older and i think i would have written it better if wrote it today. everyone should read for whom the bell tolls. itâs not that long, you donât have to know anything about lalo or nacho, if you like my writing youâre gonna like that story i promise.
no pressure tags: @lesbiankinard @starkguzman @wh0re-behavi0r @eddiediazisascorpio @homerforsure @bucktommys @buckttommy @rewritetheending @like-the-rest-of-la

20 Questions Game
Thanks for the tag, @bronzeagepizzeria <3
How many works do you have on AO3?
68!
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
734,052
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, I really only write Doctor Who aside from a handful of other one-offs I've written, but I literally have at least a hundred WIPs/ideas in my drafts.
Fandoms that I have tons of ideas for are Broadchurch and Jessica Jones (TV series), which I hope to get around to publishing. But I have a fair bit of range hiding away haha.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
In descending order:
Broken-Hearted (cross-over with Broadchurch; multi-chapter; completed)
Braids (one-shot)
Desperate Measures (multi-chapter; completed)
Exes and Ohs (one-shot)
A Lesson in Romantic (AU; multi-chapter; completed)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Pretty much as soon as I can! I appreciate engagement so much and I want to make that known to commenters. Plus, I love a bit of banter and discussion where prompted - it's a delight!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oooo, boy. Probably Happy Together? Or maybe the first chapter of Sunburn? Violet Hill was also pretty sad. I love me some dark, heavy stories that fuck up my beloved blorbos.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Although I haven't updated in it in quite a while, I've written a fair bit of the sequels for the A Lesson in Romance universe, and, boy, have I made those two have a (mostly) happy life together.
In terms of published stories, I think Study Buddies would take the cake or one of the many TentooRose pieces I've done. The former is very classic, high school sweetheart vibes with just enough angst dashed in, and I tend to keep the latter sweet, fluffy and horny.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I received some very intense 'constructive' criticism whilst writing A Lesson in Romance - like I'm talking extremely long paragraphs pretty much deconstructing my writing and questioning my content. I was young at the time, it was my first multi-chapter Doctor Who fic, and the fact that this person also pretty much outright told me how I should write my story pissed me off a bit, so I, in the most polite way possible, asked them to stop reading my story and leaving these comments.
Aside from that? I've really only had one sort of bad comment since then, but I opted to not reply.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Oh, you know I do ;) I currently only write F/M; have explored M/M in the past so I'm down to write queer smut if the inspiration ever strikes.
I'm not really a fan of overly kinky stuff that is, say, explicit/specific (e.g. BDSM), but I don't mind stuff that is vaguely/lightly kinky (i.e. I tend to include voyeurism in my stories, but it's generally accidental). I mostly write either very horny or emotional, intimate stuff - I'm a sucker for the feelings associated with the couple.
It honestly depends on what kind of story I'm writing! But as of recent, I've been mostly producing first-time, emotion-heavy smut with a good serving of horniness/wantonness to build up the tension.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've written two - Broken-Hearted and Fobwatched (if you've been waiting for an update, I promise I think of her often... I'll revive her one day). I'd say BH is crazier, as it does entwine itself with the Human Nature storyline from Doctor Who, but Fobwatched has also had some pretty wacky moments!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, and I really hope not! I have, admittedly, been a bit fearful of it in recent months.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Again, not to my knowledge! But I'm always open to that conversation if people are interested.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Back when I wrote band/music fanfiction (please forgive me for my crimes), I had started drafting out a fic with someone, but it never went anywhere and we didn't communicate very well either :,)
However, I have been beta-ing the lovely @quite-right-too's fic Dona Nobis Pacem, which has been a lovely collaboration <3 I'm so proud of Cody's work and highly recommend you read it if you haven't!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
It would probably be DoctorRose! I've never really been more enthralled with a ship before, and the fact that the special interest is still going strong three years on is a pretty good sign. I also tend to come back to Ellie and Alec from Broadchurch quite often.
In the past, I was a hardcore Reylo fan, and I've always enjoyed random, niche ships within my realm of interests (i.e. Evey and V from V For Vendetta; Jackson and Lisa from Red Eye; an array of ships from my horror movies because I love being delusional).
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Look, I'm quite stubborn in my belief that, ultimately, I will finish all my drafts, but I can say that the drafts from when I first started writing Doctor Who fanfiction have been quite difficult to work on because my writing has changed so much since then!
There are also maybe a WIP or two that I have written purely for myself and will never publish. I will probably take these to my deathbed lol.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hm, I've always been complimented for character accuracy, which I do think I have down pact - writing characters like Ten and Rose have gradually become more comfortable for me over the years and I feel like I know them quite well by this point, which is really surprising considering I've never done a proper rewatch of the show since finishing it aside from some scenes/particular episodes!
I've also always been very anal about detail in my stories - I love including the most unnecessary shit in my work!! Do you need to know what Rose had for breakfast? No. Are you gonna know anyway? YES!!! I just love making my stories feel as organic and lifelike as possible.
I've been working really hard on scenery recently, which I've been getting compliments on! I have aphantasia, so this is something I've put a lot of energy and focus into as I've come to realise it's pretty important for readers lol.
And, not to brag, but I do think I write some pretty banging smut. It's taken ten or so years of practice, but I got there in the end.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Eh, I feel I'm not super great at coming up with like... proper action/plot. Like I can do circumstances and events quite alright, but coming up with something like... say, escaping from a villain/bad situation, I've always felt pretty shit at accomplishing. However, I always try to improve.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I only speak English, so it's a bit daunting! But I just use Google Translate and consult others where possible. And, as Niyati has mentioned in her own post, I recently used her technique of writing from the non-speaker's perspective and it's been a welcome addition to my skills! Shout out, girlie <3
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It would've been 5SOS, but those fics are long gone - I deleted them from Wattpad, and the iPod that the original drafts are on doesn't work, unfortunately.
I also wrote about other bands that I listen to - Asking Alexandria, Of Mice & Men, You Me At Six, Pierce the Veil, and Bring Me The Horizon. I still have most of the drafts, but I deleted all but four of them from the internet lol (the ones that were deleted were unfinished works).
I don't write about these people anymore as I did come to realise, Wait a minute, it's kinda weird and gross to write about these people like this lol (no hate on anyone who does). But I'm always down to chat about my sordid past haha.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
I would have to say "Come, gentle night, come" as it's probably the most amount of effort I put into writing. I think it's my best smut and cherish it deeply!

WIP Wednesday
Tagged by the always wonderful @honestlydarkprincess and @spotsandsocks
Ok so I promised to give you the title of the fic I've been working on and because I'm feeling both generous, but also the need to cleanse your palettes after subjecting you to Doug yesterday for tease tidbit tuesday I am also giving you a little buddie scene I've been working on today!
This fic is now titled 'To live your life by a compass not a clock'
and here is Buddie softness;
âShowers freeâ Buck mumbles sleepily. Eddie nods and disappears into the darkness of the corridor towards the bathroom and after a few minutes Buck hears the shower start up as he collapses onto the sofa. He casts his eyes around the room, taking in the feeling of home and belonging that he canât quite explain. Itâs not his house after all, but Eddie and Chris have always made him feel welcome, like he isnât a guest, that maybe he can belong here with them. There are photos all along the mantle and on the walls of Christopher with Shannon and Eddie, With Abuela or Tia Papa, with Eddies parents and sisters and with just Eddie, all pictures heâs seen when he has been her before, but he spots several new pictures and gets up to investigate. Picking the one on the mantle up he sees himself with Chris on his shoulders and Eddie next to him, looking up at Chris a beaming grin on his face while Buck looks at Eddie. Buck remembers when the picture was taken - it was the first time they went to the zoo, all three of them together. Abeula had come too and she mustâve taken this picture without them knowing and Buck feels the wet lines otters as they make their way down his face. Eddie finds him staring at the picture a few minutes later, himself now dressed in his own cut off sweats and a tank top. âAbuela took itâ he says softly trying not to startle Buck. âIts one of my favourites from that dayâ he adds as Buck looks over at him and Eddie can see the tears, he hastens to his side and pulls him into a hug âHey there, no need for all these tearsâ he says as he cradles Bucks head settling it into the crook of his neck âEddie you donât understand Buck hiccups as his tears continue to fall, making Eddies shoulder damp. âIâve never really had a family of my own before. Iâve always just been wandering and looking for a place to belong.â âyou belong here Buckâ Eddie says âwith me and Chris.â He pulls back from Buck, keeping a hand on his shoulder, thumb pressing into his pulse point and catching his eyes so they are looking at each other. âYou will always have a place here with us. There is no one in this world that I trust more with my son than you. I want you to know and believe that Buckâ he says and more tears begin to fall from Bucks eyes. Eddie finds himself tearing up a little as he pulls Buck back towards him and into a hug. They stay like that, in front of the mantle hugging one another and swaying slightly for a few minutes, Buck begins to pull back slightly âEddie.â he says extracting a hand and placing it on Eddies cheek, brushing a tear away with his thumb âI- I... Thank youâ He finally says. The air around them is crackling with tension and unspoken desire and Buck and Eddie both find themselves leaning into each other again, foreheads touching this time as they close their eyes and time seems to still, holding them in this moment, full of possibility and teetering on the brink of everything changing.
I am loving this writing adventure I'm on and I would love to know what you think, both of the buddie snippet, but also of the title - does it work do you think from the snippets I've posted thus far?
I'm hoping to get to around the 100k mark in the next couple of weeks, which will be around half way through and then all being well I can edit and actually start posting on AO3 as I continue writing the rest đą

would love to hear about "surplus if we need it" !
For Tag Game (see above):
"surplus if we need it" is the sequel to "Crosstown" (https://archiveofourown.org/works/51719059), my niche'iest fandom, based on the novel "Confidence," by Rafael Frumkin. Long story short, the MCs are 22 year old boyfriends, semi-closeted, and running an extremely disreputable stock market scam in the guise of a 'wellness startup.' Title comes from 'Riches & Wonders' by the Mountain Goats and is suitably on the nose. This fic exists for exactly 1-2 other people and Idk when it's getting finished but I have enjoyed writing it so:
Iâd had a few drinks and my after-dinner edible was kicking in or I never would have said it, but I had and I did. âAre we ever going to do anything with all this money? Like, for us?â
âItâs all for us, buddy. Weâre not in it for charity.â Orson didnât look up from his laptop, where heâd been deep in a database of big-money donors to mental-health nonprofits. We had theorized it wouldnât take much to get them to redirect some of their munificence to a couple fresh-faced boys with a shiny startup. Doing good while doing well was in the zeitgeist in northern California in 2012, and Orson was good at riding a zeitgeist, regardless of the small detail that our shiny startup, did not and, if I understood the plan correctly, never would offer a useful product or service of any kind.
âI know. I get it. Our assets arenât liquid. We invest and we re-invest, we grow and we leverage our growth to expand our scale.â I was the CFO. It was my five-year plan. The five-year-plan would turn into a ten year plan into a thirty-year-plan, once Orson had figured out the endgame. The plans were mine but the endgame was his, and whenever I tried to talk to him about the endgame, he told me it was evolving.  Knowing that we had a future, however vague, was reassuring, but it was hard to think so far ahead all the time. âIâm not talking about five years from now, or once we get it all figured out. We get to pay ourselves, and just once Iâd like to pay ourselves enough to spend a week on a private beach sipping cocktails with umbrellas in them.â
Orson finally looked at me. He didnât drink alcohol, though he basically never got judgmental when I did; he even liked having somebody who would taste whatever expensive whiskey or personal-branded tequila some potential investor wanted to impress us with. âThey can put an umbrella in a vegan smoothie for you, I promise.â Â
That wasnât it. âYouâve never said you wanted something like that before,â he said. âDo you think it would make you happy?â
I felt foolish. I had given absolutely no thought to private beaches or fancy drinks before the words came out of my mouth. Weâd lived in California for six months and driven to look at the Pacific Ocean exactly once. It just popped in my head when I was trying to think of the kind of thing that people did when they had money and time. âI guess not.â I pulled my hoodie over my face. âNever mind me.â
And he didnât mind me, just looked back at the computer. âWhat do you think Alliance for Healthy Kids does? Itâs like ten million dollars to get Nickelodeon stars to make ads telling kids to eat celery instead of potato chips. Tell me thatâs any less of a fucking scam than what we do.â
âYeah, thatâs pretty dumb.â He didnât notice me rocking on the couch, pulling my knees toward my chest, thinking that of course he was right, a vacation wasnât going to make me happy. I was supposed to be happy here, on the sun-soaked West Coast, making money with the man I loved. We had all the sex we wanted, whenever we wanted, perfected each otherâs schemes, finished each otherâs sentences. If I wasnât happy here, what was there?

tagged by @broodsys for this writer questionnaire uvu ty, i got really into this one. the deep jazz lore incoming <3
tagging @lyriumlullaby-ao3, @inscrutable-shadow, and @skadizzleross
copy and paste-able question list at the bottom of the post!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
says 88, but one is anonymous lol 89 babey
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
824,682
3. What fandoms do you write for?
dragon age currently, prior to that, detroit: become human. some witcher and RWBY mixed in. teen wolf, dishonored, red vs blue, homestuck back in the day, a couple other things.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Truth in Melody (witcher, geraskier)
The World Upside Down (dbh gen)
left an impression on my heart (teen wolf, scott/stiles. its over a decade old i am not linking this lol)
Variable Outcome (dbh, connor & gavin gen)
Winter Chill and Summer Bloom (dbh, connor/gavin)
5. Do you respond to comments?
absolutely! if i don't, it's only because the person is being a jerk or just uncomfortable. give me a heart emoji, you're getting a heart emoji right back. boop
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
i generally write happy endings, no matter how hellish the road to that happy endings is. i do, however, have a Bad End dbh oneshot. Fair Compensation. it's straight up non-con, and from aggressor pov, so viewer discretion is advised
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
gosh idk how i could pick. as i said in the previous answer, i try to leave off on a high note. Truth in Melody or perhaps Promises to Keep. wouldn't say they're happier than others, but they're among my longest fics, which means the characters had to go through some bullshit to get those happy endings lmfao
8. Do you get hate on fics?
a couple times. more often, i get weird / uncomfortable comments that i just ignore
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
i do! well, i'd say "kinky" tends to be a general theme ahahaha and feelsy! smut in my chaptered fics are more basic, the oneshots can be wild though. and then there's from the depths, an ancient song, where i wrote a foursome involving a LOT of tentacles. like a lot. so take that how you will.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
ive dabbled in ideas, but rarely get around to actually writing them. i do like the concept of smashing my favourite universes together, though. my dbh vampire series is basically just the lore of vampire: the masquerade, but i wouldn't consider it a full crossover
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i know of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
i have! and a couple additional requests, one that i denied, and another that i agreed to but no result yet! still hoping <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
yes, for events. shout out to any of my buddies from the homestuck shipping olympics who see this :p can you BELIEVE how long it has been
roleplaying is also kinda like co-writing fics sometimes honestly. i've got some threads that have been ongoing for years and took a lot of plotting and planning together uvu
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
how dare u ask me this. this is nearly impossible aughh but i'm going to say corvo/daud from dishonored
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
basically anything from my favourite games and such that are nonetheless overshadowed by current hyperfixation. i'm forever sad that most of my many, many dishonored fic ideas were from a time when i chronically could not finish anything
16. What are your writing strengths?
i don't know, i'm bad at acknowledging good things about myself lol characterization, i suppose, that tends to be what i get the most lovely comments about <3
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
fluff, unless it's the resolution to angst lmfao i need to build up to it. drop me straight into a nothing scenario of fluff and i don't know what to DO. technical-wise, idk, descriptions i think
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
it certainly has its place and can be done well! but it's easy to mess it up, too. you need to make sure it's accurate and fitting for the scene, you need to avoid racist stereotyping, you need the story to still make sense and flow well. if the message isn't clear because most readers don't know the language, or have to keep looking it up / reading author notes, that's immersion-breaking imo. with fictional languages where much of the fanbase is familiar with the common words, though, no big deal i'd say
19. First fandom you wrote for?
honestly i think it was the cartoon, angry beavers lol i didn't know what's what i was doing, at the time. as far as serious, intentional stories, maybe firefly? or xmen?
20. Favorite fic you've written?
i cannot pick just one lol 4 is as low as ill go
previously linked Winter Chill and Summer Bloom: this is very hurt/comfort, my favourite thing, with a bunch of my other favourite things tossed in. touch-starvation, non-verbal character, characters getting away from the location of their suffering to heal in a better place, both physically and mentally, sweet slice of life stuff etc.
take these broken wings and learn to fly: more h/c! this one starts off heavy as hell and involves a lot of Process of Healing (to no ones surprise, at this point). healing has gotta be one of my favourite genders. also it's femslash.
Sight & Shadows: it's both plot- and character-driven, i'm happy with how i balanced both simultaneously. it's my vampire au, and other than the v:tm lore borrowing, it feels almost original to me. it's a rarepair, in an au--as niche as it gets, shaped a lot by the universe and story i put together for the whole series. it was a joy to create, because i truly did write this for ME. i wouldn't say any of my fics were written for others, per se, but i guess this one just felt different from the start. i wasn't anticipating an audience, i was just telling the story these characters needed, the way i like to do it. i had great friends supporting me through it, so i wasn't alone in the process or anything, it just felt the most like writing an original story than any of my other fics have
into the light of the dark black night: first of all, yes, 2/4 fics listed here are titled with lyrics from blackbird by the beatles. blackbird lyrics means intense feelings, that's just how it is. i've done it twice, and ill DO IT AGAIN. anyway, this one takes place in one of dbh's grimmest possible endings--the nuclear blast ending. i did a lot of research for this one, and also put a lot of thought into handling it with as much care as i think a concept like this requires. it's weighty, but hopeful. it has apocalypse elements, which i love. i got to do cyberpunky stuff as well. i added some of the elements i think dbh would have included if d@vid cage weren't a coward. i projected multiplicity onto some of the characters. i got to write north as the steadfast and successful leader of the revolution, as she deserves. blackbird fly <3
if you made it through all of that... thank you :>

Fair warning before I get into this, I have never watched a full episode of jujitsu kaisen, but I have seen a lot of clips and wips. With that said here we go.
Yuuji was kind yes, he could be sweet, yes.
But, innocent? Naive?
Ha, what a joke.
Yuuji had run the largest gang in Tokyo before custody was finally transferred over to his grandpa. He knew how to wreck shit. Sukuna, a constant whisper in his ear wasnât much worse then his own mind when it came down to it.
âOi, Yuuji!â Kugisaki-Chan snapped, âpay attention, blockhead! Senseiâs talking to you!â
âSorry, sorry,â Yuuji rubbed the back of his head, a sheepish smile sat easy on his mouth, âwhat were we talking about Sensei?â
Gojo-senseiâs normally easy smile didnât come, he looked unusually tense.
âThe higher upâs want us to go to Tokyo.â
It seemed to ring like a death sentence in Yuujiâs ear. He couldnât go back to Tokyo, heâd promised his grandpa.
âWe leave tomorrow at first light,â
âFuck,â came imperceptibly from Yuujiâs lips. Panic filled his head nearly wiping clean his thoughts. Gojo-Sensei was really good at fight long curses but he didnât know how well he could fight regular old humans. Well if he was going back to his old stomping grounds, he might as well lay some ground work.
âSensei! I used to live in Tokyo, so I can show you the sights and call up a couple tour guides.â Thankfully the sentence came out cheerful rather then strained.
âDo you kind of I go call up some of my old buddies from back in the day?â
âSure, Yuuji,â the smile strained even more on Gojo-senseiâs face.
Yuuji skipped out, slowing until he couldnât sense anyoneâs eyes on him anymore.
Slowly he pulled his phone, scrolling down to contacts that he hadnât seen in what felt like ages. He pressed on the contact and brought the phone up to his ear, letting it ring.
âH-hello?â A tremulous voice answered on the other end.
âAkio,â Yuuji smiled, âitâs been so long, I just wanted to let you know that I was gunna be in to for the week, there wonât be any need to lay out the red carpet but a warm welcome would be niceâ
âY-you got it, Bossâ Akio stuttered, fear staining word, âa-anything s-special, we should look for?â
âOh, yes,â Yuuji purred, â I have some people who are going to be accompanying me, they are on the âdo not touchâ list.â
Yuuji shifted, feeling more then seeing Megumi coming up behind him.
âIâll send the list soon,â he chirped, âbe good for now alright.â whipping around he shut the call down, the grin on his face going from plastered on to rather genuine at the sight of his friend.

2022 Fic Roundup Meme
Word count for the year: 20.4k -- which, honestly, is a lot more than I expected! After writing near 50k in the span of a couple months at the end of 2021, I really had to take a mental health break and work at the pace my body and mind required. I'm hoping to/aiming for getting back to writing more consistently in 2023.
Number of stories posted to Ao3: Five stand-alone fic, with a couple chapter updates to my massive WIP Familiarity
Pairings written for: Zero, actually! Lots of friendship and gen/no-ship fics this year.
Fandoms I wrote for: UTDR and Marvel
Most popular story: Outside Familiarity, probably Making Promises, which I really, really love. I'm so glad people like that one, too
Story Iâm most proud of: dephasing, I think, was really tightly-written, especially for being in second person POV. I'm really pleased/proud with how that came together
Funniest: Probably Your Best (Study Buddy) -- lots of silliness and I really adore it
Kinkiest: n/a, I don't tend to write kink, and I haven't published any publicly
Saddest: dephasing, for sure :(
Least popular: Tire Swing, a modern Marvel AU with Hela and little brother Loki having a chat before Hela goes off to college. It's a little angsty (on Loki's part), but it was written as a character study and I do like how it came out. It's not the kind of story that gets many hits, though
By hit-count? Your Best (Study Buddy) -- it was published in the last quarter of the year, so it's still only a couple months old. Because it's part of a series, I think it kind of flies under the radar, even if it could technically work on its own
Favorite opening line(s): âI need you to die,â the kid had said. in Making Promises. Still love this fic. I love it! The interactions were so fun
Favorite closing line(s): âCharaâs the worst influence,â he growls as Frisk giggles, and he moves back onto the desk to finish the math where Frisk left off. from Your Best (Study Buddy). It's the culmination of Flowey and Frisk finding common ground, and the tentative start to their friendship. Flowey not clamming up, talking about Chara to someone else (it's a sensitive subject!), and even making good on trade which gives benefit to someone else (Frisk, getting their homework done, in exchange for information -- it makes sense in context)
Top scenes from anywhere you would choose to have illustrated: Anything from Making Promises (trying to keep details vague), and Frisk and Flowey chatting in Frisk's room. Chara and Asriel pouring over books on the floor in The Shop With No Name, looking at knick-knacks from the human world.
Story I havenât yet written, but intend to: Reincarnating soulmate AU for Loki/Tony Stark that ties into the first Avenger movie. Tony reincarnates into a dog! It's very funny; I enjoy writing it, but again, 2022 was rough. I've had it on my plate for 5 years now. I also literally cannot find any dog!Tony fic? I've seen some where he's a cat, but really. Let's be honest: Tony's a dog.
Also more Frostiron fic -- I have a lot of half-finished concepts, in general.
Fic-writing goals for 2023: (1) Catch up on Familiarity Part 2, god. My beloved behemoth in the room. And with luck, before chapter 3-5 of Deltarune drops. (2) Finish up at least one unfinished WIP.
*Not tagging because I stole this from someone else untagged! I thought it would be nice to do on my own.

cross my heart
Joe Teague x F!Reader
Rating: 18+ Warnings: Explicit. Smut. Angst. Fingering. Vaginal Sex. Smoking. Forced work. Some Love & Fluff.
WC: 1,7k
Summary: You work at a Gentlemen's Club, not by choice, and you're hassled by Detective Teague for information.
-- Read below or at AO3.
A/N: I wasnât planning on posting anything today, but I was working on a couple of fics, and I got this idea for Joe that I quickly wrote instead of finishing all the wips I have.
After a long work night, all the girls spread out through the street like busy ants, all dressed in elegant black. A handful of them have cars waiting for them. The rest of you march up towards the bus stop. You lag behind, tired of those damn shoes hurting your feet, and finally decide to take them off. You clutch the heels in one hand and hit the pavement, letting the thin layer of your stockings be the only thing that separates your aching soles from the concrete slab. It feels better, though.
As you walk past the alley, you hear someone calling you sweetheart. It rolls out of his tongue like smoke. Itâs so low it vanishes as soon as it touches the air near his lips.
You should keep walking. You really really should. But you stop on your tracks. You don't need to look to the side to know that's Detective Teague waiting in the shadows minutes before the sunrise. It's been a while. Like every man at the gentlemen's club you work at, he uses you, though he doesn't pay like a gentleman would do. He squeezes you for information in exchange for shallow promises of love, and getting you out of their hands safely one day. A day that will never come, youâve come to accept. You're way too valuable for him to let go of you.
You know what he's after without him having to ask. Something is going down, and you, being Ned's favorite, have exclusive access to most of his deals. Men like to talk in the club, mostly about their business, and especially if theyâre shady. Thatâs why they created this place to begin with. They certainly underestimate what women's brains can grasp on. Whether you're serving drinks, cigars, dancing on stage, or tucked in bed with them, you're all always gathering information.
The only exception between you and the rest of the girls, it's that you've been chosen by the Detective purposely to keep your eyes and ears open, because he has something on you. They all do. Even the men who forced you to work at the club. You have a debt to pay. A debt that wasnât yours in the first place. It was your late husbandâs, who stole something from them, and theyâre holding that against you until itâs fully paid. Every dime you make here, goes directly into their pockets, like throwing salt into the ocean.
âI have nothing for you, Detective Teague,â you keep your head straight up, looking at a cab pulling up at the curb as two girls get inside.
âThen, why did you stop?â
âTo tell you that I donât know anything.â
âWhy do you always try to protect him? He doesnât love you.â
âNo shit, Sherlock. Iâm just trying to stay alive.â You finally glance at him to see him take a long puff of his cigarette under the low brim of his hat, âI heard something interesting about you, though, a couple of weeks ago.â
âThat so?â
You nod, âheard you and Ned used to be best buddies.â
âThat was a long time ago.â
âHe ended up a crook lawyer, you came out a crook cop. Itâs kinda ironic.â
âIâm not a crook.â
âNo? I beg to differ.â
âLook, I know something is going to happen soon. I just need to know where and when. If we don't stop it, a lot of people are going to get hurt.â
âYou care about people?â
âWell, some people,â he scoffs, âI care about you.â
âHeâs a better liar than you are,â you shake your head, âand takes better care of me too.â
âYeah? What has he ever done for you?â
âTips better than you, for starters. Itâs the only thing thatâs keeping me from going homeless.â
âIf you needed money, you just had to say so, darling.â
âI donât want your money, Joe,â you turn your head again to see the bus taking off from its station.
âCâmon, get in the car. Iâll give you a ride.â
âNo.â
âNo? Youâre going to be late for your shift at the diner.â
âYou know so much about me; yet I know so little about you.â You sigh heavily, and even if you donât want to, you stride towards his car and get on the passenger seat, placing your purse on your lap, and your heels on the floor.
âWhat do you want to know about me, sweetheart?â
âI donât know,â you shrug, and think for a moment, âdo you have a dog?â
His lips pull up at the corners, âno, I canât take care of a dog.â
He starts the car, and it begins moving as you look out the window, watching the sun slowly rising, turning brighter by the minute.
âAre you married?â you ask next.
âOnce. Not anymore.â
âKids?â
He shakes his head.
âDo you like the beach?â
âNot particularly, no.â
âDo you⌠sleep with all your informants?â you utter with trepidation, and glance at him to see his Adamâs apple bobbing.
âNo. I donât.â
âDo you really care about me, or is it just an act just to get what you want?â
âI do care about you, sweetheart,â he gazes at you, so you can see the honesty in his doe-eyes.
You exhale as he pulls up in front of your building. You stay quiet in your seat, biting the inside of your mouth before asking him to walk you up to your apartment. If he wants to know whatâs going down, you damn sure are going to make him earn it, and have him prove that he cares about you.
Itâs your usual dance, he hassles you for information, and you use everything in your hand to hold onto it until the last minute. Itâs very unhealthy, but it works for both of you. You get to feel loved, even if itâs just for a few minutes, and he gets his precious insight.
As soon as youâre inside the apartment, his eager hands rid you of your skimpy satin, black dress thatâs tainted in smoke and Nedâs cologne. You take off his hat and hang it on the rack. Then, you undo his tie, unbutton his shirt, and push it all back over his shoulders along with his jacket. He slips off your underwear; first your bra, then your garter and panties, leaving your stockings on. He tilts his head and captures your lips, as you blindly guide him backwards to the bed. You slowly lower yourself, pulling him on top of you. He buries his face in your neck, as his hand slips between your thighs to rub at your folds with passion.
âYou smell like him,â he grumbles against your skin, viciously collecting your arousal between his fingers.
âHe smells better than you,â you lie to rile him up, and he pulls his head back to watch you react to his fingers, questioning you at the same time.
âHas he fucked you yet?â
âNo,â you pant, gripping at his strong wrist, âgo slower, Joe.â
âWhy not?â his rough touch doesnât waver.
âHe doesnât want to⌠doesnât let me fuck other men either⌠Please, Joe,â you beg, clutching desperately to his arm until his fingers grant you some mercy, âfigured, he wants me there for as long as possible. The less I fuck, the longer it takes me to pay my debt.â
âThatâs nuts.â
âOh, you think so, champ?â you retort, ironically, of course.
âNo. Itâs nuts that you have to work there at all,â one of his fingers slips into your slicked entrance, âwhat does he like to do with you, then?â
âHe likes dancing,â you half-moan, as he strokes your walls back and forth, âhe lets me touch him sometimes. Touches me too.â
âLike this?â he slips a second finger in.
âNo. Not like this.â
âYou take him in your mouth?â
âNo,â you laugh breathlessly.
âPromise?â
âI promise.â
He deeply grunts, pleased, and his fingers slide off you. He kneels between your legs, opens his belt and fly, and releases his erection. Heâs already throbbing as he trespasses your opening, stretching your walls with ease. He dominantly thrust into you with great power. He likes the illusion of you belonging to him, and you give it to him, cause you like it just as much. The thought of being only his has your core furiously furling and knotting in a million directions. The temperature of your body rises at the friction of his broad frame. Your nails are pressed hard on his back, seconds away from sinking into ecstasy. Your legs lock and he holds one of your thighs up to his waist, pushing sharply until you both come undone.
Joe kisses you sweetly afterwards; talks your ear off, promising and promising, saying he loves you more than anything, and heâd never let anything happen to you. He absolutely means it, and you half believe it. Actions speak louder than words, you've come to realize, and heâs yet to show you that youâre more than his informant.
Then, you curl against his side and tell him what youâve heard in the last couple of nights.
âSomeone important is coming from New York in a week. They call him The Duke. They're supposed to take him to the new club in San Diego. Theyâre also bringing some girls there.â
âNot you?â He lifts his head to capture your eyes.
You shake your head, âNed said it wasnât safe, he kept me out of it.â
âGood. I donât want you involved in this, either.â
âWhatâs this exactly?â
âItâs better if you don't know, sweetheart,â he exhales as if the weight of the world was suddenly pressed against his chest.
âWhen am I going to see you again?â
âHmm, soon, darling. If this goes rightââ
âJoe,â you interrupt, âdonât say it if youâre not going to keep your word.â
âShh, Iâm gonna,â he wraps his arms tighter around you, and finishes his sentence, âif this goes right, Iâm gonna get you out this time. For good. MaybeâŚâ he pauses, smirking bashfully out of your sight, âmaybe I could take you to that beach you love so much when itâs over.â
âPromise?â
âCross my heart.â

how about 17 and 24? what inspires you and how do you deal with art block?
Long post warning.
Art block...
I don't actually get art block, which is probably a combination of neurodivergence and drawing every day for the last 3 years
I wrote an entire tutorial about how to do that, but didn't feel like illustrating it. Would people want to read it even without visuals?
Maybe... I'll just start rambling.
There's a couple different types of art block, and it's really just a philosophy puzzle to get past them. I'm going to assume that the things I think of slow days, or art mud, is a milder form of art block and work through that.
Art block is a symptom, not a disease. You probably have something deep inside that you don't want to face, or don't know how. Sometimes you need to discover the cause, sometimes just power through.
Method 1: Rest
Let yourself just Exist. The act of consuming art is part of the process. Watching shows and playing games, taking a break and going gardening or focus on school. This is what you need for burnout-induced art block.
Method 2: Action
I always choose action, sometimes it means a tiny 2 min sketch per day. Ugly or super simplified. As long as I don't stop moving.
Toss everything. Start every piece thinking you will throw it away.
The act of drawing moves you forward; pinning it to the fridge does not. Don't work things until they are perfect. Work them until they are there.
Art block causes and solutions:
- No Inspiration
Not sure what to draw, nothing seems appealing. Art won't come out like it used to.
Do studies from life or photos. Sketch, paint, digital, traditional, doesn't matter. Rocks, fruit, figure drawing, landscapes, buildings, anything.
Study and copy professional's work. Old masters are best, like rubens, michalangelo (only his men tho) etc because they will teach you anatomy while you work. If you copy someone with a lot of flaws, you will repeat those flaws.
Trace to learn, not to earn. Trace photography and art from anyone you want. Don't post it unless you have the artist's permission or they are dead, whichever comes first. This is strictly work for yourself, on yourself. It's not about the finished drawing.
Find an artist with a fun style and try converting stuff into their style. Don't make that your new style though and especially don't start selling it. Your style is a chimera of everyone you love, not a clone of one person.
Take blurry photos. You don't need a fancy camera or good skills or beautiful subjects. Doing studies from your own photos can spark life into your workflow.
Make challenges for yourself. Randomly generate things to combine. Try fusing characters! Don't try to make it look good, just be fun.
Doodle patterns, swirls, lines, random stuff. Try looking up art warmups and doing some of those.
- Everything Sucks
You finally see how bad you are. Or somehow you got worse. Every piece is a fight and you spend hours trying to get something right only for it to be stiff and disgusting and STILL wrong.
Why are you trying to draw good? It's enough just to draw.
Accept that your art is bad. Every artist can see flaws in their work. Your problem is that those flaws outweigh anything remotely worthwhile and hurt to look at.
So what? You're in a period of growth, not a period of production. Keep that wonky second eye. Let them have hot dog fingers.
Show everyone! Show no one! No piece of art can ever be a reflection of the artist. Not their worth, not their skill. The only thing your art says about you is "Held and moved a pen for a bit."
Make bad art. It's ok. Most of the time, the pressure to perform and get things Right is what made them wrong in the first place. Relax.
- No Motivation
The #1 killer of artists everywhere. On some level you think you should draw, on every other level you think you should stay in bed.
You are not lazy. You wouldn't have read this far in a post about art block if you were lazy. You wouldn't CALL it art block if you were lazy. Laziness is wishing you didn't have to do anything. A block is wishing you were doing something. If you think you can namecall Yourself into productivity again, you're wrong and You need to unionize so that you don't treat You like that anymore.
Consider Mental Illness. Losing interest in something that brought you joy can be a symptom of depression. I know it seems obvious, but if you're waiting for a sign that it's "bad enough," it's bad enough. Seek care if you have the means. Forgive yourself if you already know this.
Selfcare. Examine yourself for neglect. Nutrition, exercise, enrichment, social need, and sleep are all part of the art process. Eat three meals and sleep 8 hours. That's your gaymer fuel. You deserve it, I promise. Depriving yourself of your needs will make your blocks worse, not kick you into making them better.
Identify potholes. Sketchbook falling apart? Tablet cord frayed? Half your pencils missing? Chair uncomfortable? Desk hard to reach? There's a lot of things that you tell yourself to work around and get over. Just because you CAN workaround something, doesn't mean you SHOULD. A difficult work environment can cause secret dread deep inside that you don't recognize and just think you're lazy. What you think of as "no motivation" might actually be "I don't want to deal with my tablet disconnecting every time I move it wrong and I have to wiggle it for a few seconds to make it work again." These little things are like potholes in the road. Sure you CAN still drive through them, but eventually you're going to look up and realize you haven't voluntarily left the house in weeks.
Repair potholes and roadblocks. You might feel bad about buying a new pencil, headphones, tablet, car, etc because technically the old one works if you hustle. But if you're running into so many potholes you've ground to a halt, it doesn't Actually work anymore, does it? Invest, save up, request, and require working equipment and suitable conditions. This stuff isn't just cushy privilege, it's an investment in yourself and your art. You are worth the effort it takes to clear the way. If you can't afford reliable (reliable! not perfect or luxurious) equipment, then say it. If cardboard is all you can afford, draw on cardboard. But know that you deserve canvas, and one day you might be able to make the jump. Acknowledge that sometimes, if you don't have it in you to smear burned twigs on wet cardboard, the problem isn't motivation, but opportunity.
- Haven't Drawn in So Long
A unique type of art block that self perpetuates. The thought of starting again is so stressful you can't do it. Or maybe you'll do it tomorrow. Yeah. Tomorrow for sure.
Face your fears. Are you ashamed of your lack of drawing? Are you anthropomorphizing your paper and thinking it's going to judge you, like "oh NOW you come back >:/" I internalize voices I hear and project them onto other people, concepts, locations, and inanimate objects. Your paper, computer, WIPs folder.... none of that is judging you.
Reframe your WIPs. Do you feel shame when you see "unfinished" projects? Why? Who says you MUST bring everything you start to Finish? You don't have to. A sketch is a finished art piece; it's called a sketch! If a sketch is a fully realized creation, pages that are half colored, 75% lined, or partially rendered are all fully realized creations too. Unless paid otherwise, art is done when you're done working on it.
Lower the stakes. Draw a chibi or grab some crayons. Get messy and slowly ease yourself back into the flow over the course of a couple days. It's fine.
Get a buddy! Find an art meme, do an art trade, get a study subject, or just wing it. Drawing art alongside someone can help you get past that block.
Pretend you never stopped. Don't think about the gap, how long it's been, or rustiness. As far as anyone knows, you drew the mona lisa yesterday and didn't break a sweat. Today, you drew a starfish on your hand with a gel pen. Keep up that streak, good job!
Just keep drawing. Make a goal to do one sucky drawing per day on the back of a napkin. Don't make up for missed days, just pretend they didn't happen. Who's going to judge you? The calendar? That's pieces of paper; it doesn't have an opinion. Draw a cat on it. Done. Keeping up the momentum is a great way to prevent art blocks in the future.
TLDR: Draw imperfectly and toss it. Selfcare is king. Draw often and don't judge yourself.
Art is a process, not a product.

The 118 Protection Program
28.4k | 3 Chapters | Complete
[Read on AO3]
Summary
King Evan Buckley III is ready to rule his country, after finishing his preparation and coming of age he is ready for his coronation, only for it to be interrupted by General Kendall who's been after their kingdom for years. His sister has arranged a plan B for him to be safe, even if it means leaving her behind and be placed in the care of one Eddie Diaz and his team. * Or another story about King Evan falling in love with his protector Eddie Diaz, and Eddie falling in love with his charge.
Excerpt to get you all hooked.
âEddie?â Buck said softly, a shy smile on his face.
âYeah?â Eddie answered turning around to face him better, Buck took a couple of steps towards him.
âAre you ever going to kiss me?â Buck asked taking another couple of steps to him, Eddie froze âBecause the anticipation is killing me, and I know you want to, or am I reading this wrong?â He reached Eddie, placing both of his hands to his sides, boxing him into the counter.
âBuckâ Eddie answered in a whisper, looking down at his own hands, closing them into tight fist to keep himself from reaching out to Buck, to hold him in place and never let him leave âI canâtâ
âWhy not?â Buck voice was soft against Eddieâs skin, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the closeness of their bodies, finally losing the battle and settling his hands on Buckâs hips.
âBecause youâre my chargeâ Eddie argued weakly making Buck chuckle âAnd because youâre leaving, you have a kingdom to go back to, sooner or later, and I canât⌠we canât lose someone we care about, not againâ
âBut we have time, Eddie, all the time I still have here, and when I do go back we can call, and video chat, and I could fly here, or fly you guys outâ Buck counterpointed, Eddie took a deep breath âEddie, I know you feel it too, this thing between usâ After a beat of silence, Eddie finally nodded, feeling Buckâs lips brush against the skin on his temple âAnd I think Itâs worth giving it a shotâ Still with his eyes closed, he tilted his head up and rested his forehead against Buckâs, one of his hands leaving Buckâs hip in order to tangle itself in Buckâs hair, keeping him just where he was âPleaseâ Buck pleaded, breaking Eddieâs resolve more and more.
âIf we do thisâ He quieted for a beat, feeling Buckâs breathing on his skin, the warmth of his body so close, committing it to memory in case it never happened again âIf we do this, you need to promise me somethingâ
âAnything Eds, anythingâ Buck moved one of his hands off the counter to press it to Eddieâs back, holding into him as much as Eddie was.
âWhen you go back to Thera Ferno, donât forget us? I know itâs a lot to ask, realistically speaking, you have your royal duties, and who knows the mess Kendall itâs making and itâll need to be fixed, but just, spare us a thought now and again?â
Eddie felt the loss of Buckâs warmth, grieving it even before the cold could settle back on his skin, and sighted, opening his eyes with caution, expecting to finally find rejection, that despite Buckâs insistence that they could make it work long distance, the reality of the situation wouldnât allow it.
Instead, he found him smiling sadly, the hand that was left on the counter, keeping him pinned in place, moved to a new home on Eddieâs chin, rubbing his thumb across the side of Eddieâs face, down his jaw.
âEven if we donât do this, I will never forget my time here in America, in your home, and how your family took me in. You and Chris, youâve become my family these past months, and I do not leave people behindâ Buck said with conviction, Eddie nodded along as much as Buckâs hand still on his chin would allow âAnd you have been on my thoughts this entire time, I donât think youâre leaving them any time soonâ Eddie smiled in response âI promise Iâll call, Iâll promise Iâll visit, even if we just stay friendsâ
âYouâre very good with words, arenât you?â
Buck shrugged and Eddie couldnât help himself and brought him back into him, leading his head the way the wanted it to so the kiss was just at the right angle, letting their lips easily just collie into each other.
Eddie kissed him, and then again, and again, taking all the kisses he could get, letting the moment settle between them until Buck started smiling halfway through the kiss that it probably no longer could be called a kiss, and Eddie parted from him with a low chuckle, wrapping Buck in a hug and hiding his face on his neck, making sure to take a deep breath to memorize this moment, memorize the feeling of Buckâs arm around him, and how theyâre were both keeping the other close, memorize his scent, memorize everything, for when he inevitable lost it all.

titanic au solely because the sheer prospect of that is making me go insane
this au lives in my head rent free. tw attempted suicide
Finally, Zuko reached the upper deck he visited earlier that day. Taken with the never ending sea, his frenetic movements slowed as he unlocked the final gate and descended the stairs. Deliberately, he approached the barrier between the ship and the ocean, his gaze fixed only on the waves.
Looking off the ledge, it might as well have been the edge of the universe. The water resembled a black hole, endless and final. Without breaking his gaze from the water, Zuko pulled himself onto the railing, with each foot on the lowest rung.
The wind was comforting against his back, and for a moment, Zuko closed his eyes to enjoy the breeze. His labored breaths stilled along with the steady stream of tears flowing down his cheeks.
Here, everything seemed so calm; this ship was a mechanism in which all parts worked together. He thought of his body and mind, breakable and disjointed in comparison. The ship felt nothing, and if he toppled over the edge, it would continue chugging along through the sea as if nothing happened.
The crushing anxiety of his present situation with his father clutched at his chest again, and Zuko opened his eyes to look down at the railing. In one steady motion, Zuko climbed over it completely and rested his legs against the front of the barrier. The engine of the ship was louder and admittedly more threatening from this new vantage point. Zuko watched the propellors cycle through the water over and over.
Zuko was entranced by the possibility of disappearing with one deliberate move no one would know was intentional. There would be a search party for him once they realized he had gone missing, which of course would turn up nothing, and the conclusion that Zuko simply fell over the edge on accident would appease them. Azula would be next in line for Fire Lord. Ozai would blame him for being so incompetent.
They would forget about him, and all Zuko had to do was let go.
âDonât,â a gentle, but demanding voice said not far behind him. Zuko gripped the ledge tighter as he craned his neck to see who the voice belonged to. It was the beautiful man Zuko spotted earlier that day openly staring at him on this very deck. Zuko blinked rapidly as he attempted to make sense of how the stranger could have looked any better up close than he did from far away.
Not him, Zuko thought as he flinched his face away, Not now. Aloud, Zuko asked, âDonât what?â tearfully, and immediately regretted it.
âDonât jump,â he replied plainly. Zuko swallowed, though his mouth was dry.
âMaybe I will,â Zuko snarled at the complete stranger. Feeling vindictive, he added, âDonât tell me what to do.â To his annoyance, the man laughed, a cheery and sarcastic sound.
âBuddy, I hate to break it to you,â he said as he made a couple strides toward Zuko, âbut when youâre being talked off a ledge, you donât get to make the rules.â
âYou arenât talking me off the ledge,â Zuko insisted, trying to focus back on the water. âYouâre annoying me.â The mystery man laughed again, and Zuko pursed his lips.
âCâmon. Take my hand,â he instructed with another step toward Zuko and his arm outstretched. Zuko shook his head stubbornly.
âNo,â he yelled over the incessant warble of moving water beneath him. The man shook his head and crossed his arms.
The stranger asked in contempt, âYou expect me to believe youâreâŚwhat? Standing there for the view?â
âI donât expect you to believe anything; I expect you to mind your business,â Zuko replied through gritted teeth.
âThis is my business.â Zuko looked over at him to find the deepest blue eyes heâd ever seen watching his every move. The man shrugged. âIâm involved now.â Zuko groaned and shook his head. He couldnât even die his own way.
The man began unlacing his boots, to Zukoâs bewilderment. âWhat are you doing?â
âIf you actually do thisââ
âI am doing this,â Zuko asserted.
âThen why havenât you?â In the ensuing silence, the man took off his jacket, never taking his eyes off Zuko. âSeriously, if you really wanted to, why havenât you jumped?â
âBecause you wonât leave me alone,â Zuko answered eventually, though it didnât sound as confident as he intended. The man shook his head.
âIf you do jump, Iâm gonna jump in after you,â the stranger replied matter-of-factly.
âWhat?â Zuko asked in shock. âDonât be ridiculous. Youâd die.â
âI disagree.â
âYouâŚdisagree?â Zuko sputtered.
âIâm sure it would hurt like hell,â the stranger shrugged, âbut Iâm a good swimmer.â Zuko laughed shrilly. âThe swimming isnât what Iâd be worried about, though; itâs the cold that really gets you.â Zuko inadvertently shivered with another glance at the water.
âCold?â Zuko cursed himself for asking, and for the obvious fear in his voice. The man nodded gravely. âHow cold, exactly?â
âCold enough,â he replied solemnly. âI grew up in the Southern Water Tribe, and take it from me, you donât want to find out exactly how cold it is.â
âThe South Pole,â Zuko said, and the man nodded.
âHave you ever been?â Zuko shook his head. âOne wrong move on ice too thin, and youâre a goner. I fell in once, and it felt like a thousand swords piercing every part of my body.â The strangerâs tone was grave, his face even more dire.
Zuko exhaled slowly through his nose. He stood a little straighter, held onto the railing a little tighter. The man approached Zukoâs side with his hands on his hips and continued, âThatâs why Iâm hoping youâll spare me from having to jump in and save you.â Zuko glared at him.
âI donât need saving,â Zuko griped. The stranger smiled, and Zuko ignored how perfect it seemed to be by staring back at the water.
The man leaned in and said softly, âWith all due respect, sir, youâre hanging off the side of the boat.â Zuko fought the urge to meet the strangerâs eye contact, but failed when the manâs open palm skirted into view. He wiggled his fingers, and when Zuko turned his head, he found urgency in the manâs face.
âPlease donât do this,â the man whispered earnestly. âYou jump, I jump.â
Zuko sighed, and with a singular nod, he accepted the manâs offer. His hand was warm, Zuko noted, and he swore he felt an encouraging squeeze. They were close together, with the strangerâs chest pressed against his back.
Slowly, Zuko turned around one foot at a time, until they were face to face. Zuko let out a shaky sigh as he held the manâs other hand, too. The stranger sighed in relief, and with another mystifying smile, he said, âIâm Sokka.â
Sokka.
A blush crept up Zukoâs neck as he internally recognized how beautiful the name was. Sokka eyed him with an odd expression. âZuko,â he finally replied, and an uneasy warmth engulfed him when Sokka grinned.
âI know,â Sokka said quickly, then a flash of panic overtook his eyes, which glanced away from Zuko. He continued, âI mean, I know because youâre kind of a big deal around here.â For a reason he couldnât place, Sokkaâs sudden sheepishness made Zuko smile. âNot to me, I just heard about you from other people.â
âSokka,â Zuko said bemusedly, daring to grip Sokkaâs hands tighter. Sokka met his eyes, and he smiled too, closed-mouth and lopsided.
âSorry,â he breathed. âLetâs get you over.â
Zuko nodded in agreement. He lifted a foot to step onto the next rung of the railing, but just as he shifted his weight, his heart dropped with the rest of him. With one blink of an eye, Zuko was dangling off the ship, and the only thing tethering him to safety was Sokkaâs hands gripping his wrist. Time crept on at a dangerous pace.
Zuko screamed, âSokka! Help!â over and over as his legs swung beneath him. His vision blurred, but he could still make out Sokka above him, and the upper half of his body hanging off the side of the ship. His hair fell forward and framed his face, and when Zuko squinted, he saw horror overtaking Sokkaâs wide eyes.
âHold on!â Sokka instructed, his voice full of command. He yanked Zuko up enough so he could grab at the railing with his free hand, but when Zuko tried, he just slipped farther toward his imminent death. Zuko looked down, and the water didnât seem so comforting.
Zuko gasped and screamed again. It seemed to fill the sky, discordant and loud. His dangling hand reached for the railing again, sweaty fingers searching for a grip, but steel only greeted him. A glance upward revealed Sokka, his body doubled over the barrier, his eyes closed in concentration, holding onto Zuko with all his might.
âSokka,â Zuko yelled over the crashing water. Piercing blue eyes opened under a furrowed brow and stared straight through him. âI donât want to die.â
âYouâre not gonna die,â Sokka dismissed defiantly. âIâm right here. I wonât let go,â he promised. âYou have to pull yourself up.â
The words made sense to Zuko, but his arms felt useless. He peered down again against his better judgment, and only then did he realize he was crying. âYou fall, I fall,â Sokka said almost too quietly to hear. An obnoxious thumping sound surrounded him, and numbly, Zuko recognized it as his rapid heartbeat.
Now or never, Zuko told himself. With all his strength, Zuko managed to anchor himself back onto the railing using Sokkaâs firm grip. As soon as Zuko had a solid hold on the barrier, Sokkaâs hands snaked around his waist, leaving Zukoâs arms to rest around his shoulders.
Finally, Zukoâs back slammed into the deck of the ship. Sokkaâs strong arms remained locked around him, and he blushed when he noticed their hips were pressed together. They both breathed heavily, and Zukoâs arms trembled at his sides. Their faces were close, probably too close, Zuko thought, but Sokka stayed still. He brushed a few strands of hair away from Zukoâs face with gentle fingertips.
âAre you okay?â Sokka asked carefully. Zuko opened his mouth to reply, but his throat seized and only allowed whistles of breath to escape. He searched the sky like he might find his answer in the stars.

18, 23, and 24 for end of the year fanfic asks?
Hihi! đĽ°
18. current number of wips
*opens up stories folder* Uh... we're looking at 4 active WIPs, of which 3 are for 9-1-1 (Chaotic Energy Part 3, Buddie Smut, Tucker Davies sequel) and 1 is an ancient one for Naruto that I might actually legitimately finish. I have 2 abandoned 9-1-1 WIPs because I started writing them as like... speculation in advance of some episodes this season but never finished them in time, and of course they did not align at all with canon in the end, and I simply do not know what to do with them?
I have another 3 that are at this point just titles and maybe some outlining because I've thought them up but haven't actually written anything yet.
23. fics you wanted to write but didnât
Okay so... one of the 3 "just a title and maybe some outlining" fics I mentioned above has a massive outline because it is for a multi-chaptered AU to be titled, "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" where the 118 is a bodyguarding agency and Taylor Kelly (TV personality) and Ana Flores (Actress) need bodyguarding. Taylor Kelly engaged the 118, and Eddie, fresh out of the military, is working for a different bodyguarding agency and is guarding Ana. Eddie and Buck keep meeting because Taylor covers a lot of the events / shows that Ana is at, and they vibe, and there's also action and drama. All my chapters are titles to different Whitney Houston songs, because clearly I was vibing on Whitney Houston's bodyguard movie from back in the day when I dreamed this up. But... actually writing it scares me because what if it sucks and what if no one wants to read it and so I haven't done it yet.
But maybe I will. Someday. Probably.
24. favorite fic you read this year
THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE because I just got back into fanfiction this year AND into 9-1-1 fanfiction specifically and this fandom is overflowing with talent and I have read 4 years worth of fics in the space of 8 months. I have never seen this many fantastic writers all in one place before and it blows my mind. Someone tell me which fandom y'all move to when you stop fixating on 9-1-1 because wherever you are going I want to follow.
I am going to cheat, aggressively, and name a handful that I have reread multiple times just this year alone:
Those Two Firefighters by DarkFairytale
This is an absolute classic. It's super fun, mostly POV outsider and pokes a lot of fun at fandom culture. I adored it.
Leading with the Left by letmetellyouaboutmyfeels @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels
What can even be said? It's hot. It's exceptionally well written. It's fun. Different first meeting because Buck spends some time in his pre-118 travels working as a stripper and Mexico and Eddie has a bachelor party to go to.
Tethers by red_to_black @redtooblack
It's a WIP but it's 300k+ and already feels like 3 completed stories in one. AU where Buck is a firefighter who also does the fake boyfriend thing on the side, and Eddie is new to LA and trying to get his ex-wife off his back so he decides to engage Buck as his fake boyfriend, even though Eddie, himself, is obviously 100% straight no doubt about it.
I Didn't Know I Was Lonely 'Til I Saw Your Face by HMSLusitania @hmslusitania
This is my comfort fic. Different first meeting AU where Eddie and Buck are both firefighters but for different houses and they both get sent to therapy given the events of Season 3 and they decide to do the couples therapy thing because it's funny but also will keep them accountable to actually getting therapy.
Leave the Light On (I'll Be Coming Home) by HMSLusitania
If you want to cry your eyes out with the promise of a happy ending then this is the place for you. Hayley really knows how to masticate your heart and then make it all better with beautiful romance. AU in which Eddie "dies" (temporarily) and Buck becomes Christopher's guardian.
white house AU by buddiebuddie @buddie-buddie
AU where Buck is the President of the USA and Eddie is his secret service agent and I cannot tell you enough how much I adore this.
you can tell everybody this is your song by woodchoc_magnum @woodchoc-magnum
Buck and Eddie get together during that canon week or two when Christopher is at summer camp and what we have here is 548k words and 27 parts of domestic Buddie romance and an ever-evolving story that I cannot get enough of.
Five Minutes by Onelonely_tortillachip @onelonelytortillachip
Set during the lawsuit era where there is a misunderstanding and everyone thinks Buck died in a plane crash, except he actually had just switched to a different flight and doesn't know about the issue. Huge amounts of angst and reconciliation ensues. Another great one if you feel like crying and are in the mood for Lawsuit Arc.
I have about 100 more to add to this so I guess check out my AO3 bookmarks too because I already went 800% overboard with this since my brain blue screened when asked to pick just ONE fic for 2021.
#danswers#fanfic end of the year asks#ask game answered#afoldintime#normally I can follow instructions but I definitely could not here#I CANNOT DO JUST ONE FIC#I would also recommend everything that every author on this list has written#the talent boggles the mind#And still there are so many favourites I didn't put on this list because I was already overboard but I'm like ITCHING to share#so hit me up I'll tell you more if you want more I'm simply out of control
