"Just one more time?" You asked. "Please? For me?"
Maybe you batted your eyelashes on purpose- your smile soft and warm, as you brushed your baby hairs from your face. Maybe it was on accident. Even you had been unable to differentiate between the blurred lines of how you instinctively reacted to his presence versus when you consciously tried to impress him.
You had been in the training room for an hour and although the ceiling fan whirred incessantly above the both of you and the fluorescent lighting had begun to give you a headache, you weren't ready to quit.
A glass of water stood on the far side of the room, among a few small puddles that had spilt as Bob had tried (and failed) to successfully raise it in the air telekinetically. A month earlier you had offered to help train Bob; with abilities the most similar to his out of anyone in the group, it felt like a natural step.
But as days turned to weeks, you needed a win just as much as him.
"Try to feel the energy running through you." You said, laying your hand against his shoulder. "I can feel it radiating off of you. You have to remind yourself that you're the one in control, Bob."
Bob's skin rose underneath his sweater- tiny goosebumps scattered across the expanse of his body. A shiver ran down his spine at the spark of your touch. As your hand trailed from his shoulder down his arm, his heart raced.
"It's all you." You whispered. "Now concentrate. Focus on the energy coursing through you. From your fingertips, up your arms," your fingers tracing up his arm as you spoke until they reached for his chest. "...to your heart..."
When Bob could feel your fingertips ghosting over his chest, pressing through the sweater that hung loosely on his frame, his breath hitched. His brain- a jumble of emotions that had far less to do with whatever god-like power was flowing through his veins and more to do with the brain of a man fogged by the woman he loved- lost focus on the task at hand.
His eyes screwed shut as the glass shattered in midair.
"Nice going, Bobby." Walker called, learning against the door frame.
Suddenly aware of how close you had become, you swiftly pulled away from Bob.
You scoffed.
"Don't be an ass, John."
The tension in the room was palpable as the three of you stood in silence. Only the mechanic whir of the fan click, click, clicking as it rattled on the ceiling kept you from hearing each other's breaths.
Glancing between John and Bob, you rolled your eyes and scooped your things up off the floor.
"Good work today, Bob." You said turning back with one last smile as you headed for the door. "See you at dinner."
Bob raised his hand to say something back, but before he could, you had scurried out of the room leaving him with Walker. Wonderful.
As if the room had been vacuum sealed and released, it was as though the liveliness of the room had been sucked out with your departure.
John gestured to the door.
"So you two are getting close, huh?" He asked, striding into the room with a beer bottle in his hand.
Bob felt the heat rise to his cheeks- was it that obvious?
"Oh uh... I guess." Bob smiled politely, shoving his hands in his pockets.
John's feet dragged against the floor as he walked, the sound of rubber against concrete like nails on a chalkboard in Bob's ears. Walker's gaze travelled across the room as if he was seeing it for the first time and hadn't trained in it himself daily, until his focus landed on the water spill from moments earlier. He kicked a stray piece of glass with his foot.
The super soldier cleared his throat.
"You know, man-to-man, Bobby: I'd be careful with her if I was you." Walker chuckled dryly. "Y'know, after what happened with Bucky."
Just as quickly as it had raced by your touch, his heart now stopped.
Everything that had been bothering him previously- the mechanic clicking of the fan, the bright white lights that reminded him a bit too much of a ward, the crisp tag that scratched the back of his neck, the way John spoke with drops of beer still hanging on his lips- it was endless, really- had faded into the background.
What did Bucky have to do with you?
He fidgeted with his hands, digging into the nail beds that were still dried with blood.
"What uh.." A nervous laugh escaped his throat. "What happened with Bucky?"
"Hooked up." Walker said, bringing the bottle to his lips. "Yeah.. it was like, a while ago back in my Captain America days." He raised his eyebrows. A pause. "She didn't tell you?"
As much as Bob had a difficult time lifting a glass, his heart had no problem dropping into his stomach.
One thing that Bob had always been cursed with from a young age was a hyper-active imagination that rarely ever served his own benefit. Now, it plagued him with the idea of you and Bucky together. Blurry images of you falling into bed together- your laugh in his ear. His lips on yours. His hands running up and down the length of your body...
He could be sick.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
They all had their flaws but Bucky had been forced into a life of heinous acts and had still managed to come out on top. Captain America's best friend. A hero against Thanos. Fuck, he was even a congressman... meanwhile you had been there to witness the vivid memory of Bob high out of his mind working as a sign flipper first hand. He didn't even work for his abilities, he received them on the hunt for another high.
What was he thinking?
Bob's eyes fell to his hands as they fiddled in his lap and he shook his head.
"No uh, no..." He coughed, attempting to mask the tremble in his voice. "She never um.. mentioned it."
"Huh."
"What?"
John took another swig from his bottle.
"Nothing, nothing..." Walker said with a shrug. "I just figured you guys were close. Always hanging out n' all."
And by all means you were.
There was no coffee run complete without Bob's vanilla milkshake, or a night where you fell asleep on the couch without him by your side. He tasted everything you made before it managed to find its way into the oven. He came with you to every bookstore and supermarket run under the guise of 'wanting to feel useful', while really just wanting to observe you in mundanity outside the tower and carry the bags for you effortlessly home.
Him and Yelena were close, but you and him were partners.
Bob had understood that his more-than-friendly feelings for you would likely have been in vain, but he had never considered that yours were already taken by another.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Bob tugged at his hair and scratched the scruff that had begun to grow on his jaw.
"Yeah..." He shrugged. "I mean.."
John sized Bob up, trying to estimate how he was feeling. He was a difficult one to read- chronically calm in the face of adversity as if it was the life he was assigned to live. Staring at the polite smile that Walker could've sworn was glued to Bob's face, he accepted that he wouldn't know.
"Well, anyway," John said. "Time for dinner, right?"
☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆
"Can I ask you a question?"
It was a simple question. One that you didn't think would have much bearing. Afterall, the two of you were finally organizing your bookshelf- the final step in making Avengers Tower your home. You figured that it would be about where to place a book or how you liked it.
You would have never anticipated where the conversation was heading.
You absentmindedly flipped through the pages of one of your paperbacks before slipping it onto the shelf.
"You can ask me anything, Bob." You replied. "I'm an open book."
Bob watched where you were knelt on the floor below. The sun peeking in through the window behind him had cast a golden glow on your face, highlighting the crinkles that formed as you focused on the task at hand.
Did he want to know if you were Bucky's? Now, with the two of you alone in your room, doing a mundane task like organizing your bookshelf he could convince himself that this was his life. That you were his.
The truth could shatter that illusion.
What was he thinking? Of course he wanted to know.
The sound of his sock feet shuffling on the floor pulled your focus from the shelf to his flushed face.
"Is everything okay, Bob?"
You pulled your hand from the pile and laid it gently against Bob's clothed leg.
Bob cleared his throat.
"Are you and Bucky.. are you... did you-" Bob tugged at his hair. "Fuck, uh.. this is awkward. Were you two ever...?"
Your eyebrows furrowed as you listened and you swear you felt your blood pressure spike.
How did he know?
Bob was the last person on Earth you wanted knowing about your sex history- especially with someone so close to the two of you. His spluttering only dragged the moment on and you needed a mercy kill.
"Are you asking if Buck and I were a thing?"
Buck. Bob's mind raced. She's the only one in the tower he lets call him that. How did I not notice?
You watched him physically deflate once you posed the question for him- whether that was out of defeat or relief at the awkwardness being stripped from his own hands and shoved into your own, you weren't sure.
Your eyes trailed to the books in front of you.
"I guess, once." You replied trying to even the thumping in your chest. You were never sure of the extent of Bob's powers and if super-hearing had slipped its way into his skillset. "It was a one time thing. I think we just got lost in the heat of it all and when we were done with our mission, we got busy with our own things and it just... fizzled, you know? We're just friends now, Bob."
Without realizing it, your hands had clasped together, circling around one another nervously as you spoke. Noting your demeanor, you picked up another book from the pile.
"Walker just made it seem like-" Bob started.
Of fucking course it was Walker.
You shoved a hardcover into a free space on the shelf with a thud.
"Well Walker's an asshole." You stated flatly, loosing the composure that had been held together by the wringing of your hands. "There's nothing there, Bob. I mean, Buck is a good friend, but he's not the type of guy who'll grab coffee with you, or read your book recommendations, or-" You stopped yourself short, realizing the relationship you were describing was your own. "He's just.. he's not the guy for me."
A silence hung in the air for a brief moment until you could no longer take it.
"I'll be right back."
Before Bob had the chance to argue, you were on your feet, slipping through the door, and rushing down the hallway.
You welcomed yourself inside Yelena's room and shut the door behind you.
"I could kill John!"
Yelena, who had been sat on her bed reading, threw her book to the side.
"Uh, hello?" Yelena said pulling out an earbud. "Have you heard of knocking?"
Waving away her argument, you paced the length of her room.
"Walker told Bob that I had sex with Bucky."
Yelena had become well acquainted with John Walker's slights in the time since meeting him- he enjoyed getting under someone's skin like no other- a natural instigator- though, the team had become immune to it. But watching you now, burning a whole in the carpet with your pacing, Yelena realized she had never seen you so frantic.
"Well?" She asked. "Did you?"
You gave her a pointed look and sighed. That's all she needed to know.
Her jaw dropped.
"When was this!" She shouted, waving her arm in the air.
"Three years ago!" You yelled back. "But that's not the point- the point is that Walker told Bob!"
Yelena, quickly digesting the grenade of a revelation you just threw at her, shrugged.
"Well you just told me," she said. "Who cares if Bob knows?"
"I care!" You said flopping onto the bed. "It's different."
The blonde furrowed her brows.
"Why is it different?"
Staring up at her ceiling, you let out an exasperated sigh.
"Because you're a girl."
Yelena tapped her finger against her chin: "Well Walker knew and you did not care until he told Bob."
"That's because he was there, Yel." You argued. "I wouldn't want Alexei to know either."
A dry laugh escaped her lips.
"That is different." Yelena said. "Alexei would tell the whole world that you had sex with Barnes and the news would call you the Avengers' whore."
You reached for one of her pillows and threw it at her.
"Oh my god, Yelena!"
You hid your face in your palms.
"Not that I am calling you a whore!" She defended herself. "I am just saying-"
"Yelena." You said, face still hidden behind your hands. "Focus."
"I just do not understand why you care if Bob knows!" Yelena said with an exasperated sigh, running her hand in circles on your back. "You two are very close. He won't judge you. I mean, he is very awkward, but I am sure he's had sex before. It won't affect your-"
As if a cartoon lightbulb had appeared above her head, the thought finally came to her. Yelena ceased the motion with her hands.
"Wait." She said, pulling herself away from your touch. "Do you like him?"
You rolled your eyes.
"What are we?" You said, deflecting. "Kindergarteners?"
"Aha!" Yelena said, hopping off the bed. "I knew it!"
Somehow telling another person only made your feelings more real, tangible. Before you could deny that they had ever existed, but now that it was out in the open, you were vulnerable not only to your feelings but Bob's too. You could feel your face burning from the confession and groaned.
"You like Bob!" She said with a pout, as if it were the most wholesome idea in the world. "That is so cute. Why do you not you tell him?"
She asked it as if it were simple. As if the only thing that stood between you and what you wanted was a sentence. And that if things didn't go the way you hoped, that your desires would blow away like dust in the wind.
If anything, the revived information that you had a history with Bucky only further pushed down your inclination to confess your feelings to Bob. If three years had passed since a mutual one night stand and that was still haunting you, how would an unrequited love with your roommate be?
You weren't sure you could take it.
"You're joking, right?" You wrapped your arms around your legs and tucked your knee under your chin. "He's literally 'the golden god'. I mean Bob's just... he's so attractive and fit and nice... there's just no way he would feel the same and then it would make everything so awkward."
Yelena quirked her eyebrow at you.
"I am confused." She said. "Are we talking about the same Bob?"
You gave her a sad smile and swat at her arm.
"Yelena. I'm serious." Your argued. "Just think about it."
Her tongue clicked against the roof of her mouth, tut, tut, tuting you as she brushed her hand against your forehead.
"Y/n, before you started training with Bob, he could throw us all across the room without even thinking about it." Yelena said, stroking your hair. "Now, he can't even pick up a glass of water. Do you know why that is?"
You hadn't considered it.
"Do I make him uncomfortable?" You asked.
"No! I mean, yes, but it's not like that." She said, pulling away. "You make him so nervous that he cannot think straight. We all know that he's in love with you, we just did not think you felt the same."
You pulled yourself up onto your elbow to get a better look at Yelena, the sheets crinkling under your touch. In your chest, you swore you could feel your heart thumping against its cage.
Bob liked you? You?
As if you were a kid again you felt an adrenaline rush through your veins, begging you to hop off the bed, skip around the room and run into the arms of the man you loved.
But you were an adult who lived with both a man from your past and one who would, hopefully, be your future. Care and precision was needed.
"Really?" You asked, pressing your hand to your chest to steady your breathing. "Don't mess with me, Yelena."
Yelena laughed.
"Oh yes. He is very obvious." Yelena shook her head. "Always making the googly eyes at you when you talk and asking where you are... it's gross."
Without thinking, you closed the space between you and Yelena by gripping her hand.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes." She assured you, squeezing your fingers, "And you should tell him. Now that he knows about Bucky it is going to mess with his head. It is better to tell him soon."
Suddenly, you thought of Bob's feelings. The way he must have felt learning about Bucky.. if you were in his shoes and he had been with a member of your group, you think you would be sick.
As much as you wanted him- to hold him, to tell him you love him and hear it back, to be able to call him yours- it wasn't your feelings that drove you, but Bob's.
Yelena could be wrong, but she could also be right. You couldn't risk the latter by fear of the former.
You'd tell him tonight.
☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆
After your conversation with Yelena, you had headed back to your room only to find it abandoned by Bob. The afternoon had dragged on in agony, avoiding Bob like the plague until dinner. Even once the dishes had been served, wine was poured, and you had relaxed into your seat beside him, it had taken you all dinner to get up the nerve to speak to him again.
Afterall, what if Yelena's intuition was wrong?
"Can we talk after dinner?" You asked.
You turned your head towards Bob and whispered, careful that the other members of the table wouldn't hear. Bob, who had been half-heartedly been picking fries off of his plate the entire dinner, bit his tongue at the sound of your voice.
"Ow- what? Y-yeah," He said with a polite smile. "We can talk."
You smiled.
"Perfect." You smiled. "It's a date."
☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆
Your footsteps were the first thing he heard.
They were soft, hesitant. As if you had to convince yourself to take another step. You had wrapped your sweater tight around yourself to brace the chill that came with being so high above the ground and all Bob could think was he would warm you up if you let him.
But he'd never say that.
Instead, he braced himself against the railing and greeted you with a wordless smile.
"Hey."
"Hi."
You glanced down at your shoes then back to his face.
Just do it.
"I'm sorry that you had to find out about Bucky and I from Walker." You glanced between Bob and the traffic lights on the street below. His stare, so filled with kindness and care, made your breath catch in your throat. "But it's only because it's one hundred percent in the past. And I... was afraid that you'd look at me differently because of it if you knew."
Bob, usually the victim of low self-confidence, hated the look on you. Not because it made you look weak or worthless, no- but that he wished he could take whatever weight it carried in your body and absorb it into his own. Valentina may have called him the golden god, but you were the shining light that kept him him.
"Why?" He asked. "I could never judge you."
Your eyes locked with his and for a brief moment it was like the rest of the world fell away. You studied the blue in his eyes and the way gold specs floated around in them- as if the power within him was always just beneath the surface, waiting to be unleashed. You took it in. If this all went south, at least you could remember him like that.
"Fuck." You laughed, taking a sudden interest in your shoes. "This sounds so childish, but I really don't know how else to say it..." Wrapping your arms tighter around you to brace the wind, you looked up at him and smiled. "I like you, Bob. Like more than... more than I probably should."
A shiver visibly rattled your body as another gust of wind hit. Rather than suggest that you go inside, Bob laid his hands against your arms, warming them.
"What do you... what do you mean by that?" He asked.
"C'mon, Bob." You sighed, shielding your face in your palms and burying your face into his chest. "You know what I mean. I just look at you and don't even know what to do with myself anymore; and I know I'm supposed to be your friend, but I can't keep pretending that I'm not having a heart attack every time you look at me like that."
A deep sigh shook your frame.
"Anyway just tell me you don't feel the same and I'll forget it." You said, "and we can pretend this never happened."
He could feel his heart shatter in his chest.
He knew the tremble in your voice well. The tone. The complete lack of confidence. It was unfamiliar coming from your lips but he had heard it come from his own every time he opened his mouth. To hear it come from you was not just unfathomable, but heart breaking.
How you could think that way about yourself in comparison to him... he couldn't believe it.
"Don't... don't say that." He said no more than above a whisper. "You're like, just perfect to me."
Bob stepped back, leaving space to get a better look at you. Running his hands up your arms, he reached your cheeks. He cupped your face in his hands, gently as if one wrong move would make his earth shatter, and guided your face up to meet his gaze.
"Look, I'm uh.. I'm not good at this whole... relationship thing..." Bob said, eyes darting from your face to your hair, to the space behind you as the glimmer in your eyes made him nervous. "But I- I feel the same... About you."
He laughed. The same sweet, nervous laugh that followed you into your dreams and gave you a reason to come home; and you felt your heart swell at the familiar smile painted on his face- this time for you.
"Really?"
Your fingers clung to the fabric of his sweater as if you feared that if you let go, it would turn out to just a figment of your imagination.
"Yeah."
Tendrils hung in his eyes as he leaned further, close enough that you could feel the heat radiating off of his skin and and breath fanning your face. When your noses touched, ever so slightly brushing at the tips, you placed your finger against his lips.
Confusion and hurt painted his features until you gestured behind him.
"We have company." You whispered.
Framed by the warm light of the tower behind them, five all-too-familiar figures watched from the doorway.
"Should we be worried about the two most powerful people on the planet being in love?" Ava asked, taking a sip from her glass of wine.
"I'm more worried about the mental stability of their future kids." John deadpanned.
"No!" Alexei argued, slapping his hands against Ava and Walker's backs. "What are you saying? They will make strong babies!" He raised his fist in the air: "And they will be the pride of the New Avengerz!"
"Alexei!" Yelena groaned. "Stop making it weird."
As if Yelena had physically stung him with her words, Alexei's hands flew to his own chest.
"I do not make it weird." He argued. "I am being supportive. How is that weird?"
"They have not even kissed and you are talking about super babies!" Yelena shouted. "You are lucky they cannot hear you."
You called back.
"Oh no, we can hear you!"
Bob pointed to his ears and mouthed: "Super hearing."
Still cradled in Bob's arms, your eyes met Bucky's from across the landing pad. He smiled softly.
"C'mon." Bucky said waving the onlookers inside. "Let's go. Leave them alone."
Waiting until they left your sight, you looked back at Bob and breathed him in. His cheeks had begun to burn a bright pink that was visible even in the dim light of dusk, but he looked at you with eyes that could only be described as love drunk.
"So..." You said, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. The palm that still laid flat against his chest felt his heart skip a beat. "Where were we?"

WE'RE JUST FRIENDS! — SHOKO IEIRI

SYNOPSIS...since high school you and shoko have been known to be two peas in a pod, the bestest of friends but only you two know what happens behind closed doors
INFO...shoko x fem!reader, top!shoko, phone sex(?), vibrators, fingering, oral (reader!receiving), hidden relationship, praise, sweet ending, not proofread
OTHER...likes and reblogs are appreciated
Since high school you and Shoko were always known as the two girls around jujutsu high. Dare I say, you were the female version of Gojo and Geto. You and Shoko instantly clicked, always joking and laughing, messing around with Geto and Gojo just for the fun of it. Sometimes, you two would sneak around behind the school to share a cigarette. It wasn’t until both of you graduated that you ended up finding her attractive. She grew her hair out longer, started embracing her role in the jujutsu society and you’d always steal glances from her.
The accidental hand touching as she breezed past you, the little smirks she’d give you across the room when a higher up was yapping her ear off. It was until about 4 years of yearning that both of you finally caught the hint. Well, you caught the hint. Shoko always had a thing for you, at least that’s what you found out when she was knuckles deep in your pussy.
“I’ve always liked you, y/n.” She smiled against your skin, pressing a kiss to your cheek. Her fingers massaged your g-spot as she whispered in your ear. “I was starting to think that maybe you didn’t like me back, you know? But now look at you,” she chuckled, turning her gaze toward your sopping pussy.
One hookup led to two and then another and then another. You and Shoko became absolutely addicted to each other. It got to the point where you couldn’t even make yourself cum if you weren’t thinking about her. Sometimes you’d even call her late hours in the night just to hear her voice, asking her to help you cum.
“You’re so close aren’t you, baby?” She cooed. “You need my help, huh? Yeah?” She smiled to herself as she heard you whimper out her name. “Facetime me, I wanna watch.” In just mere second you were facetiming her while she sat at her desk going over some stupid paper work that she couldn’t care less about right now. “Look at how fucking wet you are because of me. Go ahead and keep rubbing your clit. Get right on the fucking edge.”
Each time, you came so hard just because of her. You wanted more and more each time, wanted to show her how much you needed her right there with you.
Each time you, her, Geto, and Gojo hung out, it was almost like nothing ever happened. The boys never became suspicious of anything because you and Shoko kept treating each other like you have all those past years. Like friends. Talking about the latest fashion, that new movie with the controversial actor, complaining about your job, things that friends would normally talk about.
But later on, you’d drive to the middle of an empty field, too eager to make it back to the house, her mouth around your nipples, licking, sucking and biting while you moaned and whimpered like a bitch in heat. “You looked so pretty in this skirt today.” She smile up at you, pecking your lips.
“I wore it for you,” you muttered between moans.
“Yeah? How thoughtful of you to give me easy access to this pretty pussy.” She sloppily kissed between your breasts and down your stomach while her fingertips pulled at the hem of your panties.
“Sho, what if someone catches us out—mmmph—here!” You sit up on your elbows, breathing heavily as she tosses your panties on the car floor and pushes your skirt up. She completely ignores your question, laying her tongue flat on your clit. “Oh fuckkk.” And suddenly all your worries went away.
Recently, all the jujustu sorcerers and anyone involved in the jujustu society were invited to a party. Of course you had to go and everyone else as well despite you lacking the energy to stand around and talk to people you didn’t know all day.
When you arrived, you hung out with your usual group. People you went to high school with. Geto, Gojo, Nanami, Haibara, Utahime, and of course Shoko. You damn near choked on your drink when she walked through the doors. Her makeup looked like it prepared by the gods and her dress hugged her figure so good it felt like your eyes were about to pop out of your head if your stared too long.
Shoko could say the same about you, the color you were wearing complimented your skin tone perfectly and gloss that made your lips shine under the light had her wanting to kiss and bite them right then and there. “Hey guys!” She simply greeted.
Hours went by already, boredom plaguing your mind as you watched Geto and Gojo act a fool on the dance floor, drunk out of there minds. Nanami had snuck out early, which you can’t blame him for. Haibara was chatting it up with Utahime in a corner for seemed like an hour now and that only left you and Shoko.
“Having fun?” She leaned towards you, sipping from her glass.
“No. My feet are killing me and this dress is too damn tight.” You shifted in the fabric, gripping your champagne glass tighter. You could feel her eyes rake over your entire body, but dare didn’t turn in her direction.
“Your ass looks great by the way. Maybe I’ll help you get out that dress later tonight?” She raised a brow, waiting for a response.
“Shoko, hush!” You looked around the room to see if anyone had heard which made her laugh.
“Who gives a fuck if anyone hears. Two girls fucking, so what? People need to get with the times.” She shook her head. “They’re missing out.” A sigh left her lips.
“What are you saying?” A smirked tugged at the corner of your lips as you leaned against the bar.
“I’m saying, you’re great in bed, hot stuff. We’ve been having sex for what…? 2 years now?” She reached into her clutch, pulling out a cigarette and a lighter. “Wanna smoke?” She nodded her head in the direction of the balcony.
“Fuck it.” You two both walked outside, the music playing over the speakers began fading, replaced with the annoying sounds of crickets and the occasional owl hooting somewhere in the trees. She lit the cigarette, taking the first drag before handing it over to you.
“So how long are we gonna keep up this ‘just friends’ act, huh?” She asked, watching you blow out the excess smoke. “We’re nearly together every day, fucking every week, if not every day.” She grabs the cigarette from between your fingers.
“Are you saying you wanna date me, Ieri Shoko?” You tease, smiling at her. “The Ieiri Shoko wants to date someone? I thought you didn’t like labels?”
“Oh fuck off,” she laughed, waving her hand at you. “Yeah, yeah, I said what I said, but can a girl not change her mind?” She turned to look at you, her eyes boring into yours as she put out the cigarette, tossing it. You looked away nervously, smiling down at the floor. “How about we say fuck this party and go back to mine, huh? Maybe it’ll help you think of an answer.”
As soon as you and Shoko made it to her apartment, you couldn’t keep your hands off each other. She messily kissed you, hastily pulling down the straps of your dress while kicking her heels off and tossing her clutch to the floor. “I want you so fucking bad, all of the time,” she said between kisses.
Within minutes you were on her bed, sitting between her legs as she had a vibrator pressed to your pussy, her other hand twisting and pulling at your hard nipples. “Fuckkk, Shoko!” You gasped, legs twitching as the waves of pleasure shooting through your body. “I’m gonna fucking cum!” You moan.
She rubbed the vibrator up and down your clit, massaging it into your poor, sensitive pussy. “Getting desperate, baby?” She craned her neck down, her lips connecting with yours, kissing you with such fervor. You grinded your hips into the vibrator, moaning into her mouth as you felt your orgasm approaching quickly. She pulled away from the kiss, spit connecting to both of your lips as she stared into your eyes with such lust and desire. “You cumming? Yeah? Yeah, there you go let it out. Yes!” She smiled, lifting her head to watch how your body writhed above her and your heavenly moans bounced off the walls of her bedroom.
She turned off the vibrator, tossing it to the side. Her fingers grazed over your pussy, tapping it lightly, hearing your wetness as you begged to be fucked. “God, you’re so fucking beautiful.” She kissed down your neck, teasing your entrance with her fingers, pushing them in and out slowly.
“You’re such a fucking tease,” you breathy chuckle.
“Oh, yeah? I can show you a tease.” She began reaching into her beside drawer.
“No, no! I was kidding!” You laugh, pulling her arm back. “Come here.” You gather strength to sit upright, facing towards her. Her cheeks are tinted pink and her skin was glowing under the light. “I think you’re beautiful too.” You cup her face in your hands.
“Getting all sappy on me now?” She pulled you onto her lap so you were straddling her.
“Shut up.” You roll your eyes, smiling as you leaned into the kiss. This time it wasn’t rushed or sloppy. You felt every moment, every movement, and every thought. Shoko deepened the kiss, pulling you closer against her chest, hugging you tighter. Your tongues moved against each other slowly, biting and sucking on her bottom lip before pulling away. “I like doing this with you.”
“Yeah?” She asked, you nod in return. “Does that mean what I think it means?” She dragged her index finger along your jaw.
“If we’re talking about the same thing, then yes—mmph!” She kissed you again with so much force, your back hit the plush comforter beneath you.
“I’m even more turned on knowing you’re mine now. Fuck me,” she said in disbelief.
“Well who said we had to stop?” You bite your lip, sitting up on your elbows. Shoko stared at you for few seconds and without saying a word, her hands gravitated to your thighs, spreading them apart, wasting zero time in putting her face in your pussy. A small gasp escapes your throat when she gently kisses your clit, the tip of her tongue rolling it in circles. “God, Sho!” You fall back on the bed, stuck in the blissful headspace.
The flat of her tongue works its way through your soppy folds, licking up your juices and tasting them on her tongue. She watches the way your face contorts in pleasure, your hands reaching up to play with your tits, pulling at your taut nipples. She sucks on your clit for little, earning a high pitched moan from you, smirking at your reaction. She knows how sensitive it still must be.
“Pussy tastes so good, baby. Mmm,” she moans, slurping on your clit and your folds, spitting directly onto your cunt before licking it back up again.
“Yes, yes, just like that!” You nod, biting down on your lip as you watch the way she eats your pussy like a pro. “Feels so fucking good.” Your toes curl as you hook your hands under your legs, pulling them back farther. “Yes, fuck!” Your eyes roll back when she pulls back the hood your clit, exposing it which made all the more difference.
“Play with those pretty tits for me, baby.” She lifts her head to catch her breath, her lips and chin coated in your slick. She looks so fucking good it makes you even more wet. You reach your hand up once more, cupping your breast and pulling at your nipple while she watches with a smile. “Good girl.” He her hot tongue swirls around your swollen clit once more, messily eating your pussy cause that’s how she knows you like it.
“I’m so close, baby, right fucking there, Sho.” Your jaw drops open, your hand finding home in her hair, pushing her face in deeper. “Shit, shit! Yes, I’m so fucking close!” You gasp, rutting your hips against her face like a bitch in heat. Shoko hums in amusement, looking up at you, making direct eye contact, wanting to watch you cum on her tongue. “I’m cumming! I’m cumming!” Your legs shake uncontrollably, grabbing a fistful of her hair tighter as you come undone. Your back into the mattress, still coming down from your orgasm. “Oh fuck,” you breathe.
Shoko finally lifts her head, pleased with herself, the biggest smile on her face. “You still alive, hot stuff?” She hovers over you.
“Barely.” You murmur, looking at her through your hazy state. “How do you always make me cum that hard?” You groaned, chest heaving up and down.
“Um, I have my ways.” She jokes, falling beside you. She softly kisses your shoulder. “Need some water or something?” She asks softly.
“Not right now. I can’t even think straight.” You flip over, facing her.
“I made you cum so hard I rewired your brain? That’s new.” She said with a hint of sarcasm. You playfully shoved her shoulder. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” She pulled you in close to her. “So does this mean—”
“That we get to tell Geto and Gojo. Yes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were also dating each other.” You furrowed your brows at the thought of it.
“You’re oddly right. Gojo was damn near twerking on Geto earlier.” Shoko stared up at the ceiling, running her fingers over your skin.
“Wait, really?!” You asked with sudden surprise.
“You didn’t see? Geto got real close behind Gojo. One inch more and boom! Contact.” Shoko nodded, trying to hold in her laugh.
You couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the thought of Gojo twerking especially on Geto. “Oh my gosh! Just imagine Gojo throwing it back for Geto!” You cackled, Shoko laughing in return.
“Oh no! Do not put that image in my mind!” She cringed, clenching her eyes shut.
“Maybe Geto slips him a twenty for a lap dance. You never know,” you roll over laughing, barely able to breathe.
“Oh my goodness! Shut up!” Shoko covers her mouth, pushing you away from her. “Stop! I can’t!”
“Okay, okay,” you breathe heavily, scooting closer to her again. “I’ll stop.” You rest your head on her shoulder again.
She kisses the top of your head. “I love this. I’ll never get tired of it. The laughs, the sex, your warmth, your smile. You.”You sit up to look at her with a complex expression. “What?”
“Since when did you get all poetic with your words? I guess the sex must’ve rewired your brain too—” Shoko rolls her eyes at your words, covering your mouth with her hand.
“I try to be all lovey dovey and this is what I get? Sickening.”

𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊
Sylus x non-mc | Sylus's version of third place in a two-person home [Zayne's fic]
Part 1

They discharged you the next morning.
You left the hospital in a haze, Sylus’s hand hovering awkwardly at your back as though he didn’t know how to touch you anymore. The drive home was silent. The roads blurred past the window, your forehead pressed against the cold glass. You could still feel it – the emptiness in your womb. The phantom pain of something you lost, something that would never come back.
When you entered the house, it felt different. Colder.
The world continued to move outside – cars passing, neighbours laughing, children playing – but inside you, everything had stopped. It was all just… silence.
You lay in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, your hand resting over your belly where life once grew. The tears came quietly, without sobs, like a leaking faucet that refused to be fixed.
Not even half a day had passed when Sylus’s phone rang.
You didn’t need to ask who it was. You could hear her muffled voice through the speaker – MC.
“Something happened with Lilith,” Sylus said, running a hand through his hair. His crimson eyes flicked to you. He looked exhausted. Guilty. But determined nonetheless. “I need to go to the hospital.”
You remained silent. Your chest felt hollow, like someone had scooped out everything that made you human and left only an empty shell.
“[Y/n], please understand—”
“She’s using her,” you whispered, your voice calm but trembling. “She’s using Lilith to get you back.”
“Don’t say that,” Sylus snapped instinctively, but his tone softened immediately. “Please… she’s sick… she needs me. I promise, I’ll be back tonight.”
Promise.
That word echoed in your mind like poison dripping into a well.
The same promise he made when you begged him to stay just a day ago.
The same promise he made… the day you lost your child.
Your lips parted, the words falling out so softly it almost didn’t sound like your own voice. “If you leave now… don’t expect to have a wife you can come back to.”
His eyes widened, flickering with something unreadable – guilt, panic, disbelief. But then his phone rang again, louder, insistent.
“I’ll come back,” Sylus said, voice tight with urgency. He leaned down to kiss your forehead but you turned away, staring blankly at the wall as he grabbed his keys.
And just like that, he left.
Without looking back.
You sat there.
For hours.
The clock ticked. The sun moved across the sky. Shadows shifted across the floor.
You sat there.
Staring at the front door long after it closed. The silence pressed against your eardrums so hard it felt like they would burst.
Sylus had made his choice.
He always did.
And now… it was your turn to make yours.
By sunset, you were done packing.
Two suitcases by the door. Only yours.
You left behind everything Sylus ever gave you – the expensive dresses he bought to impress his mother, the jewellery you wore to his company parties, the bags, the shoes, even your wedding ring. You placed it gently on the vanity table beside the framed wedding photo.
You stared at the photo for a long time. At your smiling face. At his quiet, reserved smile. At the way his arms were wrapped around you like you were something precious.
Your vision blurred with tears. You swallowed the sob threatening to escape your throat. Then you turned away.
You walked out the door without looking back.
This time, it was your choice to leave.
And you weren’t coming back.

Mac romantic hcs please? 🥺 (preferably with a gender neutral reader but whatever you are comfy with writing is ok too!)
Romantic headcanons for: MAC
Featuring: Mac
Fic type: headcanons, fluff!!
No content warning, pretty short length wise, Gender neutral reader :)
Yay!! I love Mac soo much, made me so happy to see this in my inbox ❤️
First of all, once you enter a relationship with Mac your 11.5 hours of screentime a business week skyrockets higher than a person who touches grass could ever imagine.
Mac is pretty in-between when it comes to physical affection; though they tell you late one night that they only like it when you touch their keys or mess with the mouse.
Kisses are an average occurrence, leaning over the side of their chair and grabbing onto your shirt like it's the end of their life to tug you down- Peppering your face in kisses.
Post-getting together they push just a little more for you to get better parts for their system, promising that a new fan would work wonders for both them and you. Of course they understand the hesitation to replace anything, parts are so expensive nowadays, but they know eventually they'll wear you down.
And obviously, not only do they get you to buy things for them, but things for you too. That shirt set you wanted but decided on not getting? They're holding you close and telling you about how nice you would look in them, how good it'll feel to 'treat yourself'.
Sadly, you can't sit on their lap. Their legs don't have the strength to keep up any weight over ~10 pounds. But that doesn't mean you can't still cuddle up to them; Mac can sit on your lap, or the two of you can sit on the floor together under the desk, or you can lay in bed together.
Albeit, Mac doesn't like standing idle, so it might take some work to get them to rest. They always want to be working on something, even if that work ends up being a boring desk job where you really only respond to emails.
They enjoy showing off things they think you'll like, using popups to show you a funny video they saw online, or a jacket that's just your style, it's one of their most common ways of showing they pay attention to you.
Their love language is Parallel Play. Simply sitting next to you and working on separate things is fine with them. Hell, you could be talking to Chance or Dasha and they wouldn't care- as long as you hold their hand and squeeze it from time to time.
Not really the jealous type, they know you on a very intimate level, they know your type; they are your type. It's going to take more than some mediocre pick-up lines over text to get them jealous.
Though, there was this one time where they shut off the show you were watching instead of working because you kept oogling one of the actors. So maybe it isn't as hard as you think?
Flustering them is rather easy, no double clicking needed. Praise gets their fan running quicker than it probably should. They especially enjoy it when you praise them for their smooth running systems after a long day of running some pretty big programs and they'll melt.

Pigments & Playlists | myg
✎ ˎˊ˗ Pairing: Min Yoongi x female Reader ✎ ˎˊ˗ Summary: Between makeup and music, you find the one person worth blurring the lines for. ✎ ˎˊ˗ Genre: coworkers to lovers, idol au, older woman (by a few years), fluff, smut ✎ ˎˊ˗ Warnings: Undercut Yoongi! Undercut! Him being such an attentive thoughtful king, nothing major i think this is a pretty light read, cursing, jk being the annoying younger brother type, lots of makeup brands and seventeen references, MC has thirsty thots for yoongi but who can blame her, part two is where we will have the action (trust) but savor the cuteness of part one for now ✎ ˎˊ˗ Word count: 5.6k ✎ ˎˊ˗ Posting date: June 8, 2025 ✎ ˎˊ˗ Notes: Hello! I have been talking about this makeup noona fic for a while and it’s here. This is a two-shot (don’t y’all make me make it a series!) Thank you so much @tea4sykes for betareading.
Part Two | Yoongi Masterlist
You drag your Züca makeup trolley behind you, wheels gliding against the marble floors. Your phone is tucked between your ear and shoulder as you walk, eyes scanning for a sign, the one marking the next chapter of your career.
Wonwoo’s voice crackles in your ear.
“I’m gonna be fine… No, I’m not gonna have a new favorite… That’s impossible… Just focus on your training, okay?... Seriously? Bye, Wonwoo.”
You sigh, tap the end button, and slide your phone into your back pocket.
Ah, so this is what the 21st floor looks like.
The floor dedicated to the men who built the HYBE building from the ground up.
You laugh to yourself. Does this mean you made it, too? It kinda does, doesn’t it? 15 years doing makeup, five years with Seventeen. Specifically: Seungcheol’s unruly brows, Mingyu’s overzealous sweat glands, and Wonwoo’s refusal to exfoliate. You weren’t just part of the team—you were theirs. The noona they teased mercilessly, trusted absolutely, and sometimes trauma-bonded backstage while waiting for hair dryers to cool.
Now you’re here. Reassigned. Promoted, actually. You’re now the lead makeup artist of Bangtan Sonyeondan, with eight makeup artists and hair stylists in your team. The mission? Make BTS the prettiest fuckin’ boys in all of history. Maybe even prettier than Seventeen? Fat chance. You’re too biased with Sebong.
At the end of the hallway, you spot the door marked: BTS. Authorized Personnel Only. No Cameras.
And for you, there’s No Turning Back.
You take a breath. Pull your kit and push forward.
No one notices you at first. That’s fine. That’s how you like it. You don’t want to feel like the new kid, all awkward smiles and intros.
You set your kit down by the makeup mirrors and start laying out your brushes. Foundation. Concealer. Lip tints. Focus. Routine.
“Y/N-noona?”
Seokjin. The only one you’ve met before. He had a style consultation for his MV and you were basically asked to lead it as a sort of audition to this new role that you were considered for.
You spent hours scouring the internet for reference pics. But for you his visual was very straightforward. Matinee idol. Heart-achingly handsome, but still kinda attainable, if that even made sense. Full lips–you’re going to be playing this up as the focal point. Maybe dried fig or muted berry for pigment, just the lightest touch. He’s got thick, fluffy natural hair that you’ll need to tame with some lightweight products to push it back to a clean, slick leading man vibe.
“I don’t need botox anymore,” was what he famously said after an hour under your skillful hands. And the rest is history.
“Hello, Seokjin,” you nod.
“Have you met the rest of the members?”
“Haven’t had the pleasure.”
“It’s fine, they’re not important.”
“Yah!” Jimin shouts without looking, obviously eavesdropping. “Don’t talk shit about us, hyung. Hi, Y/N-noona.”
Jungkook glances up and strolls over, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
“Noona, I’m Jungkook. Wait—ohhhh. You’re Seventeen’s makeup noona?”
“You make it sound like I’m their property, but… yeah. Now yours, though.”
He giggles, bunny teeth on full display. “Mingyu’s like, in love with you.”
You can’t tell if he’s joking. Probably. Maybe. You don’t know.
“I should text him,” Jungkook adds, already reaching for his phone, laughing.
Your cheeks go warm immediately. Good thing you already wore blush—at least it hides some of the embarrassment burning through you.
Before you can figure out how to respond, one of the senior hair stylists calls your name from the next room.
Saved by the bell.
You mutter a quick excuse and step away, heart doing something it definitely shouldn’t be doing around these fine men you didn’t expect to affect you this much.
You pull up the sleeves of your black blazer, checking your makeup station one last time. You just finished your pre-production meeting with your team, going through today’s run of show and the shoot concept one last time before it begins.
The pegs are taped up on one of the walls, one for each member. You’re confident you can pull this off–you cannot not. It’s your first damn day and you sure as hell want to prove your worth.
Thankfully, your team is not all new. Half of them have been with BTS for years, while the other half are just like you, reassigned, when a few of the long-standing makeup noonas stepped away—schedule conflicts, burnout, one just had a baby. So naturally, BTS’s glam rotation shifted. Jungkook, Jimin, and Yoongi needed new regular artists.
Your right hand woman and the most senior from the tenured makeup girls, Hyein suggested you take him. “He’s not high maintenance. Just likes it quick and consistent.” And since working on him might be quicker than the rest, you will always have time to do quick checks with your junior members.
That’s how you ended up with Yoongi.
And truthfully? You are kind of glad.
You’ve always thought his face was interesting. Not just in a “he photographs well” way. Because most of them do. But there’s something in his bone structure that keeps your eyes coming back. Sharp where you don’t expect. Soft in places that should be angular.
You spend some time studying his features through online references, as you have done with Jin, and as you always do with new artists you handle.
His eyes are slightly mismatched. One double lid, one monolid. Not obvious. It gives him this quiet asymmetry and you already plan to adjust his liner differently every time, because you want to work with it, not against it.
His skin is bright, borderline unfair. “Brighter than your future” as one Tiktok said. He has a few scattered freckles that only show up in certain light.
Two scars on his forehead near his left brow and one just north of it, then there’s another tucked under his right eye. You don’t intend to cover them up unless he tells you to. If anything, you think this makes him look a little badass. Seems like that’s the persona he’s going for anyway.
His lips are a soft kind of full—not pouty, but plush. Tinted naturally pink like he’s always just bitten them. Shame how in older photos, his top lip shape seems to be blurred with concealer. None of that now that you’re in charge.
And then there’s his hair. Always changing. Sometimes blonde, once ginger, sometimes brown red, once, briefly, a mint shade that made him look like a faerie. Now it’s coal black, natural. Undercut.
The first time you meet Yoongi, he bows and says exactly four words. “Welcome to the team.”
Not the warmest of welcomes, but it’s fine. You think he doesn’t say them unkindly. Maybe he’s just one of those brooding, mysterious idols. Still waters run deep or whatever.
You nod back, introduce yourself.
He eases back into his chair and closes his eyes. For the entire time.
His skin is warm under your fingers. Breath even. Doesn’t flinch when you brush under his eyes, around his cherry nose. When you’re finished, you say so. He glances at his reflection once in the mirror, moves his face left then right, then at you.
“Thank you. I like it,” he says, then walks out.
Cool.
The second time, he beats you to the glam room. He’s in the chair already, in a fuzzy yellow cardigan, hair ruffled from outside. There’s a faint sheen of sweat still drying on his temple. He gives you a tiny nod when you enter.
“Hey. How’s it going?” Four words. Same as last time.
“I’m well,” you respond as you unzip your brush case and start setting up.
Once you’re done, you pull out a portable bluetooth speaker from the bottom of your trunk.
“Do you mind music?” you ask Yoongi, who’s busy with his phone.
He shakes his head. “Play what you want.”
You power up your speaker, scroll through your playlist, and hit shuffle to an old 2000s playlist–the music of your youth.
Midway through, you hear a faint sound. And as you push the silicone applicator to his lips, you feel the gentle vibration as he hums along to the second verse of “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.
You don’t comment, but for some reason, this realization makes you happy. The chorus swells.
The next time you meet, he asks to pick the music. You don’t mind. In fact you’re curious what some acclaimed musical genius like him would listen to.
“Want my speaker?”
He shrugs.
You hand it over.
He scrolls for less than ten seconds before music clicks on.
Is that Ring Ding Ding?
You both pause. Look at each other. Then laugh.
“Respect,” you murmur, hiding your smile.
“It’s a classic,” he says, solemn as a priest.
After that, you start talking. Just… little things. Safe things.
Mostly about music.
You find out he’s got strong opinions about snare sounds in 90s R&B. He then shifts the playlist to that.
He tells you about working with Tablo and and you don’t know how bright you’re lighting up until he teases you, “want me to get you an autograph or something?” You admit you’ve had a crush on him for years. “Like what do you mean he’s ivy league smart and hella goofy, too?”
Then, you tell him about your teenage boy band phase (it’s not just Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, you were even into the more obscure ones from the UK). You also admit you mourned for Aaliyah and Left Eye.
He confesses he went through an intense BoA obsession and that he may still be in love with her—even tried to copy her hair for one of his concerts.
Things escalate when you both try to rap the second verse of “Nice & Slow.” You fumble spelling U-S-H-E-R five seconds in, and it all goes downhill from there.
“It’s the H!” he hoots. “He says it differently.” You realize he is right. Koreans have that extra syllable.
Somehow, between blending pigments and sharing playlists, something opens up between you.
It’s not fast. It’s not grand. But it’s happening.
One morning, your playlist shuffles itself into an old ache: “Don’t Wanna Cry” by Seventeen. You freeze only for a second, at Wonwoo’s ulgo ship ji ana, but Yoongi notices.
You try to focus on the foundation you’re patting onto his cheek, but something twists in your chest.
“Missing your old team?” Yoongi asks.
“They’re my boys,” you say, kind of offhand. Kind of not.
Yoongi doesn’t say anything, but you feel his eyes on you through the mirror. He doesn't look annoyed or anything. Just still. Like he’s filing the words somewhere he’ll come back to later and you’re not sure why that makes your throat feel tight.
He’s good at silence, Yoongi. Knows when not to push. But the space he leaves is always heavy. You don’t know what to do with it.
But Jungkook does.
The maknae is sitting in the next chair over, scrolling on his phone, waiting for his makeup artist. At the mention of Seventeen, he perks up instantly, like a dog hearing a treat bag.
“Tell me something Mingyu can do better than me,” he challenges.
You blink at him. “Excuse me?”
“Noona.” He throws in a dramatic sigh. “Be honest.”
You have no idea why Jungkook wants to make this a 1 v 1 showdown between him and Gyu, but you’ll play along. It’s cute.
You glance at Yoongi again. He’s looking down now, pretending he’s not listening as he scrolls his phone, but the corner of his mouth is doing that twitchy thing that says otherwise.
You smirk. “I mean… I liked both your Calvin Klein campaigns.”
Jungkook puts his phone down slowly, like he’s processing emotions. “He only got that gig after I enlisted.”
“He still looked good though,” you sing-song.
“I—wow.” He shakes his head. “You really gonna do me like this in front of hyung?”
You hold up a hand. “Didn’t say he was better.”
“But you implied it,” Jungkook fires back, boba eyes bulging out of its sockets. “What else?”
“I mean, Mingyu is pretty good in the kitchen.”
That does it.
“No way,” Jungkook says, leaning forward like he’s about to attack. “Now I have to invite you over. I’m making dinner. Full spread. Five courses. Hyung can come, too.”
Yoongi doesn’t look up. “Don’t drag me into your ego crisis.”
“I’m including you out of respect,” Jungkook grumbles. “And as the primary witness to this… whatever shit this is.”
You shrug. “A free meal’s a free meal.”
“I’m gonna blow your mind, noona.” He sinks back in his chair with a groan. “Fuckin’ Mingyu…”
You laugh, then glance at Yoongi again. He’s finally looking at you, quiet but engaged. His expression is unreadable, but there’s something just a little tighter around his eyes.
So, you’ve assimilated with the team well enough. Jin greets you with food. Tae compliments your hair quite frequently, offered to braid it once. Jimin tries to read your texts over your shoulder.
You laugh with them. You start to care for them. But you’ve become especially fond of Yoongi.
Maybe it’s the way he watches without crowding. Maybe it’s how he listens so carefully when you talk about songs you love. Maybe it’s the way he only speaks when he has something real to say.
Unlike the maknaes, you won’t see him bouncing off the walls. He doesn’t demand attention. But he holds it anyway.
And lately, you’ve started wondering what it would feel like to hold his.
You were about to grab coffee when some delivery guy arrives with a monstrous amount of packages. Laura Mercier. MAC. Make Up For Ever. Jung Saem Mool.
It’s a ridiculous haul—glass bottles clinking, compacts stacked like poker chips, a forest of lip tints and pencils all jammed into branded boxes. The Beauty Boondocks. Guess this is part of your life now and you’re loving it.
Working with the biggest group in the world means this. A constant courtship by brands desperate for one sliver of the BTS glow. One backstage photo of Taehyung swiping lip balm on, or Jungkook half-blurred with a concealer palette in the background, and that’s a million views and sold-out SKUs easy.
You’re on the floor of the glam room, crouched between piles of cardboard, trying to sort products by category and fighting the growing sense that you’ve just been buried alive by luxury capitalism.
Suddenly, Yoongi walks in, he pauses just beside the door.
“Wow,” he says. “This is what Jungkookie’s house looks like the day after he gets a free night.”
You look up, a brow arching. “Online shopping problem?”
“Massive,” he replies dryly, stepping over a few boxes. “Once he ordered five different bed mattresses.”
You’re a bit stunned. Partly because you did not expect anyone to show up, much less Yoongi. Secondly, Jungkook’s house must be huuuge?
“He does not have 5 bedrooms if that’s what you’re thinking. There was one in his living room for a while…”
Yoongi crouches beside one of the larger boxes, tilting his head to read the logo printed on the side.
“So what’s all this?”
“Makeup, hair products, tools, etcetera…” You gesture vaguely, hands full of crinkle paper and unopened mascara tubes. “Brand offerings. Welcome to the chaos. No thanks to you guys.”
He glances around, taking it in. “Why are you doing this alone?”
“Sera called in sick. Hyein’s sorting more stuff in another room. The rest are on a day off or are in Hobi’s LV shoot. Though honestly, nobody told me about this shipment.”
You expect him to leave it at that. But instead, he lowers himself to the floor, his long legs under him, and grabs a box cutter from a nearby table.
Wordlessly, he drags a new box closer, slices through the tape with smooth precision.
You blink. “What’re you doing?”
He doesn’t look up. “Trying to be useful to my noona.”
Wait.
My noona. My noona?!
It’s playful. Casual. Probably harmless. But something about the way he says it—low and almost offhand, like it comes naturally—snags in your chest. You’re crazy for thinking that it actually means anything else, but you can’t help consider it.
You don’t answer right away. You just stare at him like he’s an illusion: pale hoodie sleeves shoved up to the elbows, veins flexing against cardboard, hair fluffy and soft, devoid of any product.
He glances at you sideways. Sees the look on your face. Smirks. “What?”
“I’m just not used to idols volunteering to help unpack foundation samples,” you say, lips twitching, as you hold up a few NARS bottles and place them on the table.
“That’s because your boys aren’t me.”
Woah. Shots fired at Seventeen and you’re too stunned to speak. Plus, the way his eyes flick back to yours as he says it—yeah, he knows exactly what he’s implying.
Your heart thuds once in response and it’s deafening.
You return to your pile, doing your best to focus. “Well. If you’re going to help, I hope you’re not colorblind.”
“Am I getting judged?”
“Harshly.”
He chuckles.
Not a minute later he is already complaining why there are 30 different shades of pink.
It’s late.
Rehearsals ran over, and most of the team’s already scattered. The greenroom is dim, half the lights shut off, stage outfits draped over chairs. Someone left a half-eaten protein bar on the counter. (It was Jimin.) You’re too tired to throw it out.
Yoongi’s the last one to be touched up before a promo shoot he’s doing solo. Naturally, you’re also the last one still working. You let the rest of your team pack up after their member completes their segments.
Yoongi sits in the chair wordlessly. You flick on the ring light and squint at him.
“You look exhausted,” you murmur, brushing a warm palm across his cheek to feel the texture.
He shrugs. “You look worse.”
Wha—?
“Gee. Thanks.” You crack a smile. “Asshole.” You say with no real bite.
You work in silence for a minute. You spray a serum over his face, get it to calm and cool. His skin is a bit warm, a little flushed from movement.
Looking away, you stifle a yawn, lift your glasses and rub at your eye with your knuckle.
“You sleep at all these days?” he asks suddenly.
Your fingers start massaging the serum near his cheek and decide to tease him a bit. “Don’t talk to me. You said I look like shit.”
He smirks, but his tone is soft. “That’s not what I said.”
“I get some in,” you say lightly. “Here and there.”
He hums. Doesn’t press. But something about his tone makes you keep going.
“I wake up a lot,” you admit. “Not always bad dreams. Just… waking. Like something kicks me from inside.”
“Been happening long?”
You shrug like it’s nothing.
“A while,” you say. “Started around the time…” you pause, study him. His eyes are so kind, the kind you’ll want to spill all your secrets to. “My previous relationship ended.”
He looks at you in the mirror. You glance down, blending gently near the corner of his eye.
“It’s stupid,” you murmur. “It’s not like I miss him. I just… guess my body hasn’t caught up yet.”
Yoongi stays quiet for a few breaths. “It’s not stupid.”
Your throat pulls tight, but you smile like it doesn’t matter. “Anyway. It’ll pass.”
You expect him to nod. To change the subject. You don’t expect what he says next.
“Call me.”
Your hand stills from dipping the brush on the powder pot. “What?”
He tilts his face up just enough to meet your eyes.
“When it happens,” he says. “When you wake up and it’s three or four in the morning just… call.”
You blink. Why did this feel so intimate all of a sudden?
“I’m always up anyway,” he shrugs, like it’s not a big deal, and you remember to breathe.
You search his face, looking for a joke, a smirk, anything sleazy, even. There’s really none. Just sincerity. Like he knows what you’re going through and wants to share your load.
“Okay,” you say quietly, willing your heart to stop pounding so loud.
He holds his palm out. You’re dumbstruck for a second before he tsks and says, “phone.”
Days after, you find a curious box in your kit. Quietly tucked between your brushes.
It says: Tae Pyeong Hwan and when you input it on Naver, it’s apparently a viral anti-anxiety drink.
There wasn’t any note. No name. But you know it’s him. And you don’t know what to feel.
You take a sachet and gulp. Willing it to work before you see him again and your heart does that flip flop thing it keeps doing when he’s around.
The first time you entertain the idea that Yoongi might be interested in you, you actually laughed. It’s not even because he’s an idol, or a billionaire, or a god among men.
You know you’re a solid 8, maybe even an 8.5 on a good hair day. You’re established enough to have your own house and car. You’ve got enough industry connections and some seed money if you decide to start your own thing. You got it goin’ awn, okay?
You’re a catch for any man, BTS member or not.
But a younger man? Really, Y/N?!
It’s not like you're breaking the law. He’s literally 32. He’s grown. (And shit, you know he’s grown after being in a backstage quick-change with him.)
Unfortunately, try as you might, the attraction has already rooted itself in your brain.
Are you going to do anything about it? Jury’s still out. HYBE contracts have made it clear that there’ll be no inter-office dating, but does anybody really follow that shit?
Jeon Jungkook’s apartment is ridiculously nice. Like stylish-in-a-way-that-costs-a-fuckton-of-money nice. You barely have one shoe off when he’s already tugging you in with a giant bunny grin, sliding along his hardwood floors with his silly toe-socks.
“Place looks great,” you say.
“You should see the noraebang room.”
“The what now?”
There’s a woman sitting on the couch, sipping wine with her feet tucked under her. She looks up with a soft smile, and Jungkook lights up all over again.
He gestures proudly. “This is Haeun, my girlfriend.”
“Hello, unnie.” She stands to greet you, and you immediately like her. She’s model-pretty, but not in an intimidating way. Choreographer, he tells you, for a rookie girl group. You’ve never seen her around the office, then again it’s a huge building. Interesting, a case of inter-office dating under Bang Si-Hyuk’s nose.
You’re halfway through complimenting her earrings when the door bell sounds.
Yoongi walks in and you swear the temperature in the room changes.
He’s wearing a soft cashmere cardigan in a warm, oat beige. It’s a deeper neckline than what you’ve seen him wear before and, uh, it’s gotten really warm right now.
You feel blood rushing on your cheeks as you take the expanse of creamy skin on his chest. The rest of the look: Brown slacks, clean sneakers, hair barely styled but he looks stupidly good anyway. His lips, a soft sheen to it, looks like a freshly swiped balm.
You know Jungkook prepped food but this is the kind of full-course meal you like…
Yoongi pushes his shoes to the side, handing the host a bottle of wine. “Sorry, traffic.”
Jungkook claps him on the back. “Nah you’re good, hyung. You made it just in time. Noona’s here.”
Yoongi stumbles forward with a tight-lipped grin to Jungkook’s shit-eating one. Did Jungkook just push Yoongi towards you?
“Heeyyy,” you nod, smiling tightly.
Yoongi scratches the back of his neck, sits across you. “What time did you get here?”
“A few minutes ago.”
You glance to your side, and Haeun has vanished. You clear your throat, feeling 50 shades of awkward now that the object of your newest crush has arrived. You feel yourself blush as Yoongi unwittingly manspreads in front of you.
As you calculate ways you can potentially survive this night, Jungkook thankfully hollers from the other room, inviting the guests to settle in.
You sit at the dining table, Haeun beside Jungkook, Yoongi beside you. And it feels… a little like a double date. Is it? You don’t know. And you’re too afraid to ask.
Yoongi pours you a glass of wine.
The one he brought.
The one you had mentioned once was your favorite.
Jungkook, dramatic as always, starts announcing each course like he’s hosting a cooking show.
Course one is an apple and walnut salad with this spicy-sweet sesame dressing. You take a bite and your eyes widen. “Okay, wait. This is actually good.”
Jungkook looks offended. “Rude?”
Course two is a creamy chestnut soup with bits of crispy pancetta. Haeun says she helped him chop things. You raise your glass to her.
Course three is grilled scallops with a yuzu butter glaze. Jungkook explains how long it took to get the sear right. You make appreciative noises, cos wow this shit’s actually fire. Yoongi hums in agreement.
When Jungkook and Haeun head to the kitchen to bring out the next course, Yoongi quietly plops another scallop on your plate.
You blink. “What are you doing?”
He starts drizzling it with sauce like a damn chef.
“Serving you,” he says simply. “You seemed to like this one.”
“I did,” you say. “Shouldn’t I be doing that, though? I’m older.”
He looks at you then. Direct, but soft. Like he’s not even sure why you’re bringing up age right now, because it doesn’t matter. “I’m being a gentleman. Let me.”
You don’t know what to do with that. Where to look. How to sit still. All you can think is yeah, you’ll let him do anything to you at this point. And you’ll always say,
“Thank you.”
Course four is bulgogi tenderloin with a sweet garlicky glaze. Jungkook says the marinade was 30 hours minimum. Haeun nods like she’s heard that fact 20 times minimum. Okay, you kinda believe him because it was delectable.
Course five is a tangerine panna cotta. It wobbles beautifully. You groan after the first spoonful, and Yoongi actually reaches forward to pat his younger brother on the shoulder. It is that good.
“Okay. Fine,” you say, leaning back. “This wins.”
Jungkook beams. “Better than Mingyu?”
“Fuck Mingyu,” you lift your glass.
“YES!!! Hear that, babe?” Jungkook yells in victory and actually picks Haeun up bridal style and spins her in a circle around the living room. She shrieks, laughing the whole time.
You and Yoongi watch from the table, slightly tipsy and amused.
“They’re cute,” you murmur.
Yoongi smiles, eyes on them. “Yeah.”
“Seems that no one really follows that no dating rule in HYBE, no?”
“I do,” Yoongi notes with a shrug, and the high from the scrumptious dinner unceremoniously crashes. You’re suddenly uneasy, acidic.
“Ah,” you nod, picking up your wine glass and downing the last of it in one big gulp to push the lump in your throat.
Play it cool. You’re a grown ass woman. Shit.
You excuse yourself, powder your nose, apply your jelly tint, and simultaneously, well, spiral.
So Min Yoongi doesn’t shit where he eats. Okay. He apparently follows rules? Huh… Make it make sense, though?
Why should you be so disappointed? Plenty of fish in the sea. Except when you’re pushing forty and you’re too damn tired to cast a net out.
You get back in the living room and have another round of drinks, except Yoongi who says he is driving.
You guess it’s time to head home when you see Haeun stifle a yawn, but Jungkook convinces you to stay for a bit more, just enough for him to video call Mingyu and gloat. Between the boyish bickering and another glass of wine, you’re thankfully feeling a little floatier again.
Later, when you’re putting your shoes back on in the entryway, you glance over at Yoongi. He’s scrolling on his phone, one hand in his pocket.
Your phone pings. Kakao T. Your ride’s on the way.
“Thank you again for dinner,” you say to Jungkook.
He nods, placing an arm around Haeun. “Anytime, noona.”
Yoongi looks up. “You booked a ride?”
“Yeah. Should be here soon.”
He slips his phone into his jacket.
“Cancel it. I’ll drive you home.”
You blink. “What?”
“It’s late. Let me take you,” he says, tone slightly commanding.
You want to say ‘yes, sir’ out loud. But you keep it together. Barely. And then of course, you cancel the ride.
Yoongi leads you to the parking garage. At some point you think you feel his hand ghosting your lower back.
The drive is quiet. He picks a playlist you both have listened to before. It’s a vibe. Music playing low. City lights reflecting off the dashboard. Yoongi’s hand rests on the wheel, rings catching in the glow.
He smells good. The veins in his hands are flexing.
You try not to stare. Or breathe weird.
When he pulls up to your place, he shifts into park but doesn’t unbuckle yet. You unclick your seatbelt slowly.
“You looked beautiful tonight.”
Your breath catches. Full stop.
You turn to say something—thank you, or you too, or kiss me now—but words get stuck in your throat He just smiles softly.
“Good night,” he says.
“Good night,” you parrot before you step out.
The air hits you different. Your hands feel weird. You feel like a teenager after a first date she’s not sure was a date, but definitely made her feel some type of way.
That night, when you dream, it’s his eyes. And when you wake up? You’re not sure if you want to see him again or never see him again just to keep the dream intact.
The studio is chaos in the best way. BooSeokSoon are doing what they do best: being loud, dramatic, and infectious.
You’re standing off to the side watching Yoongi line up with them, the camera propped up and ready, his face unreadable as always, but there’s a looseness to his shoulders that tells you he’s in the mood to play. (And that he took a shot of something before he went in.)
You pull a balm from your pouch and swipe it gently onto his lips before he steps into frame.
“Cherry again?” he asks.
You nod. “Your fanbase will thank me.”
He smirks. “Noted.”
And then they start.
BSS hits every beat like their entire career depends on this one Tiktok challenge. And Yoongi? He’s keeping up. Relaxed, slightly silly, effortlessly cute.
You still don’t get Tiktok honestly.
When the music cuts, you clap before you even realize it.
They check playback, talking over each other. You wipe the sweat that has formed in Yoongi’s temple with a dab of tissue. But, as everyone focuses on the phone, Yoongi looks over at you.
“Which take was better?”
Caught off guard, you stammer, “the uh-i think the second.”
He hums, then he tells the girl he likes the second clip. BSS agrees.
You look at the boys as they chorus agreement, but when you glance back at Yoongi, he nods once, slow and soft. That grin of his (the real one, not the camera one) edges onto his face. It says, Go ahead. I know you miss them.
And you do.
Before you know it, Seungkwan is already crashing into your side.
“Noonaaaa,” he sings, throwing his arm around you. “Still pretty..”
Seokmin grins, pulling you into a side-hug. “We were just talking about you yesterday.”
“Don’t do it again. I had an awful coughing fit yesterday. Should have known it was you morons.”
“You’re still superstitious.” Soonyoung shakes his head.
The exchange is quick, familiar, a little chaotic. Just like always. But it feels good, like slipping into a jacket you forgot used to fit perfectly. A few more jokes, a photo, and they’re off. There’s someone yelling about dinner, someone else remembering they have a shoot in twenty minutes.
The social media crew also left, as well as the hair stylist who has another thing in ten. You stay behind, gathering your things.
Yoongi’s still here, too. He’s at the far end, wiping sweat from the back of his neck with a towel. He grabs his water bottle, takes a long drink, then walks to the wall. You follow suit since everybody has filed out.
Click. He cut the lights.
The room drops into soft shadows, lit only by a few glow strips along the floor.
He’s by the door, tilts his head as he waits for you.
You stop just in front of him.
“Didn’t say goodbye to your boys,” he says with a slight tease at the end.
You shrug, “They know I’ll see them again.”
He hums. “You look happy.”
“I am.”
You think that’s the end of it. Because why would you be having a whole conversation with the lights out?
He shifts his weight forward, closing the distance between you by a step. Close enough that you can see the sheen of sweat drying along his temple. Close enough to feel the warmth radiating off his skin. Close enough that if you breathed just a little deeper, you'd catch his scent.
Then he leans in. And before you know it, you taste the cherry balm you swiped on his lips minutes before.
The kiss is so soft, so sweet. Just as quickly as it started though, he pulls away. You feel his breathy sigh caress your cheek as he whispers your name and mumbles, “Let’s go out.”
But before you can form any response, he opens the door.
And, in fact, goes out.
WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?
Part Two >
A/N: Scream with meeeee! Idk. Isn’t it yoongi core to kiss, confess and yeet? I recently saw a video of when he met an american artist, he shook his hand, said i like you then looked awkwardly away. LMAO.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Logan's not sure why he goes into the club across the street.
Maybe he needs to feel young again. Maybe he's bored. Maybe the adamantium poisoning the rest of him has finally managed to get to his brain and turned his thoughts into some sort of horny, befuddled shit show.
Or maybe, just maybe, he really is just that fucking desperate.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
It's past midnight when he walks through the door. You've been busy all night, but things are finally starting to wind down, the customers that frequent the small establishment slowly trickling out until only a few remain. None of them are your regulars, and given how empty the doorway has been, you're honestly considering calling it a night and going home early. The past few days have been hellish, full of people who didn't do a damn thing to turn you on, and you'd love nothing more than to sink into a warm, cozy bed and drift off to sleep. Tonight, you've been roaming the floor for the past hour without getting anything- everybody is either interested in another one of the workers or entirely fixated on the dancers.
It's not that you don't like your job- you do. Sure, being a stripper isn't the most flattering form of work, but the bills are paid. That's all that really counts these days. Your pride has long since been discarded in favor of earning hefty tips from the sleazy guys who are dumb enough to believe that you'd actually be into them. You put on a good show, of course, but if it weren't for the money? Not a fucking chance.
You like it that way. Hardly any of your clients go beyond the intimacy of a private dance, mainly because you don't let them, reserving that for your favorites. But you haven't met someone who turns you on in a long while, and without the occasional thrill of a real good time from a customer, you're starting to get bored. The days are blurring together, nothing separating the good days from the bad ones, if there even is such a thing anymore.
You're on your way to ask your boss if you can get off early when you hear the bell ring. You groan internally, realizing that you're the only one on the floor who isn't occupied, meaning if this client is interested, they're yours.
Damn it.
So much for an early night.
You're midway through praying to whatever God is out there that this client tips well when you turn and actually lay eyes on them. The moment you do, your mind goes blank, your prayers long forgotten as your thoughts become consumed by him.
He's older- much older. Pushing sixty, at least. It's not inherently a bad thing, but typically the older they are, the more entitled they become.
You're not usually into older men, finding them self-centered, greedy, unable to keep up with your desires; but you're not even ashamed to admit that this stranger could ask you to do just about anything and you'd probably agree in a heartbeat.
The man is tall, big, his muscular form obvious even underneath the suit and tie he wears. His salt and pepper hair is short, accompanied by a scruffy beard you're certain would feel like heaven against your thighs. His tie is loose, his top button undone, and he's got on a pair of dollar-store glasses that he hasn't even pulled the tag off of. There's a weight to him, an exhaustion that seems to have infiltrated the deepest parts of his soul, as if he's seen things you couldn't even begin to fathom- and yet, he's here, seeking some semblance of relief.
Lucky for him, you know exactly how to give it to him.
He looks around like he's lost, the colorful lights and sultry music overwhelming, the center stage where your coworkers get dollar bills thrown at their feet foreign to him. By the time you've made your way over, your legs moving of their own accord, he's turning to leave. "Hey." You call out, and he stops, turning back around to face you.
He's even bigger up close, and his eyes roam over your form almost shamefully before finally meeting your own. "I was just leaving." His voice is rough, a little scratchy, and while you're sure it's supposed to be intimidating, all it does is further fuel the heat pooling between your legs.
"So soon?" You look up at him with a doe-eyed gaze you're well aware makes men weak in the knees.
"I shouldn't be here." He says, but he doesn't walk away from you.
You move a little closer so your breath is fanning across his neck, your voice dripping with suggestion. "I could show you a good time."
"Listen, sweetheart, I've got-"
Sweetheart.
"Let me take care of you." You lean up to whisper in his ear. Your breath is hot against his skin, your mouth tantalizingly close, and you can feel the way he twitches slightly- an exercise of self-control.
A moment passes, two, and he lets out a long breath. "Fuck, darlin'." He reaches out, hesitant to touch, as if he's not sure how this works, doesn’t want to cross some invisible line he hasn’t learned exists. You take his hand, guiding it to your waist, reaching up to put one hand on the back of his neck. "You sure know how to get a guy wrapped around your finger."
In response, you give a coy smile, taking his tie in one hand and giving it a soft tug. He allows you to guide him, pulling him along by the tie you're sure he has a million ideas of what to do with.
You lead him into a private room, pulling the curtain closed behind you, letting his tie slip out of your grasp. His eyes dart around for a moment, but then you're in front of him again, reaching up and sliding his blazer off of his shoulders. You hang it up on the wall, then return, now slowly guiding him backwards and giving him a gentle shove into the leather chair near the wall. He raises an eyebrow as you circle him, leaning in from behind to whisper in his ear. "Just relax." You murmur, letting your lips graze his neck before pulling away. He leans back, eyes following your every move, a stare that feels like it could set you on fire.
You put on a good show for him- dancing, teasing, tantalizingly close, but never touching. Not yet. You can see the hunger in his gaze, the restraint it takes for him not to pull you down into his lap and keep you there. You give him a strip tease, taking off your bra and letting your breasts go free. His eyes roam over you, a murmured word, "Beautiful," leaving his lips, and that makes your already soaked panties drenched.
Then you give him a lap dance- and unlike most of the men you meet, he doesn't touch, doesn't paw at you. Instead he waits, lets you set the pace, doesn't do anything without your permission. Your hands go to his tie, undoing it at a speed you know is killing him, tossing it aside.
Finally, you rest yourself entirely on his lap, and whisper in his ear. "You can touch now, if you want to."
His hands immediately settle on your hips, like they belong there. You grind down against him, feeling him tense beneath you at the friction against his clothed cock. You repeat the motion, relishing in the groan it elicits from him. His grip on your hips tightens slightly, and he begins to guide your motions, pressing you down against his thigh in a way that makes you moan. It's a small, soft sound, but it still makes him smile. “Atta girl, that’s it.” He huffs approvingly. You keep going, feeling yourself almost get lost in the rhythmic movement before you come back to your senses.
Your hands move to the collar of his shirt, slowly beginning to undo the buttons, revealing his toned chest. You only get about halfway down before his hands are gripping your wrists, and your protest dies on your lips when he leans up and kisses you.
He tastes like cigar smoke and whiskey, a blend that should be uncomfortable but is somehow pleasant. His tongue slips into your mouth, tangling with yours as he pulls you closer. By the time he finally pulls away for air, you're dizzy, flushed.
A kiss- almost as personal as a name.
You've never met a man who could make you feel like this- and certainly not without getting all your clothes off first.
His words snap you out of your breathless haze. "Let me touch you, baby." His voice is both a plea and a demand, and who are you to deny him such a request?
A simple nod is all it takes before his hands are on you, roving over your breasts with an appreciative groan. You can't help the way your hips rock against him, and one of his hands goes down to your ass, encouraging you to grind against him again. His other hand rolls your nipple between his thumb and index finger, while his mouth leaves sloppy kisses along your neck, down to your breasts.
You bury your face in his neck, breathing him in. His head comes up from your chest to whisper in your ear as he keeps your hips moving back and forth, his other hand alternating between your breasts. His skin muffles your moans, but you know he won't let you hide those pretty sounds from him forever. "You're so perfect." His words don't exactly do you any favors in the 'keeping your composure' department. "Sweet, pretty thing like you..." He nips at your earlobe, making you gasp softly. "You got no idea what you do to me."
Those words snap you back a little, remind you of your promise to take care of him. You raise your head up, leaning back a little to meet his eyes. "Then show me." Your hands reach down towards his belt, and this time, he doesn't stop you. Instead, his gaze roams over you as you unbuckle it, slowly pull it out of the loops of his pants, toss it aside, letting it join the other discarded articles littering the floor. You undo the buttons, then pull his pants down.
Even through his boxers, you can clearly see the outline of his aching hardness. You gently take him in your palm, running your hand along him through the fabric, watching the way his eyes flutter. Then you adjust yourself so you're grinding on him again, thin layers of clothing the only thing separating the two of you.
You go on like that for a little while, keeping track of every little sound he makes, every hitch of his breath and shudder that goes through his body. Then you lean back, pulling his boxers down, freeing his cock from the confines of his clothing.
Immediately, your mouth waters. He's huge, the biggest you've ever seen, and you find yourself wondering if you even can take him.
You push that thought aside for now, swiping your thumb across his tip, smiling to yourself at the groan that leaves him. You repeat the motion, letting precum gather on your fingers as you begin to move your hand up and down, up and down. You start slow, stroking him gently, then gradually increase your pace. Midway through, you grab a condom with your other hand, keeping eye contact as you open the wrapper with your teeth. You roll it onto him in one smooth motion, earning a startled grunt. His head falls back, his breaths coming unevenly, and it takes him a while before he can manage a coherent sentence.
"Fuck, you treat every guy like this?" Even with all the energy he can muster, the words are still a little short.
Your smile widens, and you lean in to press a kiss against the vein of his throat. "Only the good ones."
His mouth opens, as if to argue with the notion that he's anything good, but your ever-faster movements silence any protests that could have come from him.
You can tell he's getting close, and you slow down, letting him breathe a little slower as you whisper a soft question. "Where do you want me? You want my mouth, you want-"
Your words are cut off by his hand cupping your clothed mound, a gasp escaping you. "I want this." His voice is rough, and this time, it's not a plea. He leans in, his breath hot against your ear as you unconsciously begin to move against his hand, chasing any friction he can give you. "I think it's a little unfair, seeing how I'm all out in the open and you've still got these," His thumb hooks in the waistband of your panties. "Separating me from you, hmm?
You don't even answer, just raise your hips up slightly so he can tug your lingerie down your legs until it falls and hits the floor. Immediately, his gaze lands on your exposed cunt. "Jesus, you're soaked." He murmurs, running his fingers through your slick. You whine as he brushes against your clit, and he chuckles. "Need me that bad, huh?"
"Need you." You whine. You can tell he wants to take it slow, to tease you, and by god do you want to let him- but you're impatient, your own teasing having riled you up too much to do anything but fuck him. Luckily, he picks up on your silent request, raising your hips to hover above his cock. His gaze searches yours, waiting for permission, and you nod. "Fuck me." You say softly, and it takes everything in him not to come completely fucking undone at that sweet tone of voice.
Slowly, painfully slowly, he lowers you down onto him. It burns, in a delicious way you've come to love in your years here. Even with the sheer amount of wetness coming from you, it's still a struggle to make him fit- but he does. When you've finally sank all the way down onto his cock, he lets you breathe for a moment. "You can take it, baby." He murmurs reassuringly- a support and a chance for you to back out. You close your eyes, breathing in and out, resting your face in the crook of his neck again.
Then you start to move.
It takes him by surprise, and you like the grunt that comes from him. For someone of his age, you're sure not much can catch him off guard anymore, so that makes it all the better when you lean back to see the look on his face. He catches your small smirk and returns it with one of his own, letting you move yourself up and down, over and over. Your pace slowly increases as the two of you adjust, and the room is soon filled with soft noises and the sound of flesh against flesh.
It's slow, almost sensual, but despite the circumstances that should have you turning this in another direction, you like it. You feel that familiar coil building in your stomach, your soft whimpers turning to moans now.
"You gonna come for me, baby?"
All you can do is nod, and he rocks his hips up into yours. The way he fills you up is mind-numbing, until you can't think of anything else but him and how fucking good he's making you feel, how badly you need to come undone on his cock.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck-" Your voice takes on a sharp pitch as he thrusts up into you, and your vision goes white for a moment as your orgasm hits you, unending bliss shaking your whole body. He rides out your orgasm for as long as he can, but the tight feeling of your cunt clenching around him soon sends him over the edge too. You can feel him twitching inside you, only prolonging the aftershocks of your own pleasure.
Eventually, you both come down. You're breathing heavily, trying to scramble together any semblance of thought. He stands suddenly, picking you up like you weigh nothing and setting you down on the chair. His cock slips out of you at some point during the process, leaving you feeling empty. You sit there for a moment before opening your eyes, finding him pulling his pants up and buckling his belt. He meets your gaze with a hint of a fond smile, bending over to grab his tie.
You stand up to retrieve your own clothes, pulling them back on while he shoves his arms through the sleeves of his blazer and rifles through his pockets, eventually pulling out his wallet. "Um, how much do I owe you?"
He looks almost embarrassed, and you find it kind of adorable. You flash him a smile, saying words you never thought you'd dare to let pass your lips. "Nothing. It's on me."
Immediately, his eyebrow shoots up. "No, I can't... I can't let you do that, pretty girl."
You shake your head. "I insist. Nobody's ever fucked me like that, and certainly not any of my clients." You see the way your words boost his ego- good. He deserves it. "Besides, if you hadn't showed up, I'd have gone home anyway." You say nonchalantly, taking a few steps over to him. You reach up and put a finger to his lips before he can continue to argue. "It's on the house."
Although he still looks conflicted, he reluctantly nods. "Okay. Next time, then."
Next time.
You feel a thrill run through your body as he brings up the prospect of a next time, and your smile widens. "Next time." You affirm. You step back, letting him be on his way.
He moves towards the curtain, pausing before he goes. "See you around, sweetheart."
And just like that, he's gone.
But you don't miss him- because you know he'll be back.
So when you finally make it home and climb into bed after that warm shower, there's still a fond smile on your face as you drift off to sleep, dreaming of the weary stranger and his wonderful words.

gym rats
sylus brings zayne to a smash burger place with him and he notices a poster of a challenge where u gotta eat a 5kg sized burger + fries for a free meal. "I'm bulking." he says. "I need to look huge when receiving my degree." and he proceeds to inhale everything in half an hour. "man he's a mess." zayne thought. zayne himself wasn't the type to attend gym. he focused more on his studies and spending his free time on hobbies like uhhhhh totally not eating a whole bag of m&ms in one go. daily walks were enough for him.

After a few months of bulking, final's week came and sy got too busy to go to the gym, so a belly pooch started growing. it's most obvious when he's on his laptop, doing his assignments in his dorm, shirtless bc math makes him sweat and slouching. He made a robotic mirror that identifies you by facial recognition, and being able to notice changes in your features, whether you look worn out or gained/lost a few pounds. which was exactly what happened to sy. "you know, bulking isn't just eating" it says, making sylus regret his own creation. "i think you look great" zayne being the sweetheart he is tries to confront his roommate. he lifts up his shirt and pats on his own belly "we're pooch buddies :)" wasrhjshsksbej sylus had to fight the urge to eat him then and there. real
sem break is finally here and without a second wasted, he gets back into gym. this time, dragging zayne along with him. "pooch buddies gotta be gym buddies as well." zayne just let himself be pulled into it thinking what's the worse thing that could happen?holyyyyyyyyyyyy fuck his muscles were BURNING is this what death feels like?? sy helped him through all the sets, making sure his form was correct, and zayne was sweating major balls he could actually pass out. after an intense work out, they ate dinner and zayne fell dead asleep on the carpet. galen slept on top of him and sy didnt have the heart to move him so he just took a bunch of pillows and let him sleep on the floor, laying beside them as well.

"where are their nipples?" i ate them.
slowly but surely, zayne started becoming a regular gym user. his body grew accustomed to it and it was less painful, more enjoyable. zayne isnt chubby per say but he is unfit. you cant really tell when he's wearing sweaters and hoodies. while he wasn't bulking like sylus, he did focus on getting more toned. i mean he's gonna be a doctor one day and he won't have the time to take care of his body like he does now. and after being consistent BAM hot nerd gets a glow up and becomes even hotter (maybe downgrade to some ppl but its zayne he can never downgrade) and unknowingly, he made a reputation for himself. we'll get back to that.
obv his over indulgence in sweets never went away, but he deserves all the sweets now as his reward. sometimes his mom (and dad too but mostly his mom) gets emotional bc fluffy zaynie is all grown up. he was a fat kid, got a little slimmer during middle school but still has the chubs... and now he has six packs...

(old art. this is the only child zayne ive drawn so far hes not that fat here but u get it)

I’m most likely going to write these in future oneshots or fics but Ima put a lil sprinkle sprinkle on the timeline for the real freaks in the chat. And people if you truly do not like seeing stuff like this, I strongly suggest you scroll its okay we still love you!
MDNI!!!!!NSFW!
Pairing: Sevika x reader
Freak fest headcanons 🦾🐺🌊
Different places to FUCK & different things to fuck with! And yes I mean fuck, I mean like ovulation week type of fuck yk?
ᥫ᭡ We fucked Sevika on that bed, that couch, that car… LETS TAKE IT OUTSIDE ON THE BALCONY and I mean damn near off the rails riskin it all for a good fuck but she would never let you fall.
ᥫ᭡ On the floor where the floorboard creaks on that rug for hours (obviously pillows and blankets are included you’re going to be on that floor for hours and it gets uncomfy after a while, unless Sevika fucks you on her lap that is…)
ᥫ᭡ On every counter head, doggystyle, cowgirl, from the back or the front, her eating you out from the back as you arch on the counter or your arms are resting on the counter stuffing her face full of your cunt! (And I mean, you grabbing full locks of her hair to really get her in there, bouncing yourself up and down to stimulate that clit)
ᥫ᭡ Now ladies and theydies and everything in between this woman is strong.. she can hold you up for a lo—-ng time. And yes you guessed it womp womp on the wall, yes 🙌🏽
ᥫ᭡ Dildo on the wall and she watches you fuck yourself til your makeup is messy or your drooling for her to take over and pound the orgasm out of you be it rough or slow and long strokes! OR HEAD YK IT NEVER FAILS
ᥫ᭡ Tongue fucking be it ass or vagina
ᥫ᭡ Fucking with clothes on or she ripped some fabric off and your tits are bouncing out the clothes or your clothes are halfway off but it just so much of a sight to see the fabric or maybe even fishnets clenching on you as she fucks you with fingers or dildo, tongue, just know it’s wet and it’s splashinggggggg
ᥫ᭡ Candle wax anyone?? Oh yeah that’s happening we need the senses really engaged
ᥫ᭡ Whip cream or caramel on those nipples, She lo—ves going to town on those tits/chest of yours
ᥫ᭡ She loves making you cream or squirt back to back
ᥫ᭡ Maybe there’s a party going on and you both decide to take a closet or a private room somewhere
ᥫ᭡ While you moan and on the brink of cumming sometimes she stuff her two long fingers down your throat to hear you gag on them as your innerwalls clamp down on her strap legs shaking and all
ᥫ᭡ She takes one of her shirts wraps it around your head making sure it covers your mouth only, and pulling it from behind as she fucks you.
ᥫ᭡ Wine poured down the tits and drinking from your nipples. (Maybe even some strap or fingers to overstimulate you *gunshots*)
ᥫ᭡ Vibrator overstimulation and fingers down the throat 👀
ᥫ᭡ BUTT PLUGS OR ANAL (large amounts of lube and prepping included)
ᥫ᭡ Her fucking your face telling you are such a good girl giving you different commands as you eat her out, your face is soaking wet, she tells you with a quivered lip that “I’m not done yet. One more time for me pretty”
ᥫ᭡ Tribbing with her (vibrator included or not) and playing with her nipples (or nipple piercings) or.. choking her a bit 👀
ᥫ᭡ Her using your tits to stimulate her clit and you fingering her, waiting for her to squirt in your mouth.
ᥫ᭡ I already said this but claws(acrylic scratches) on her back Or YOUR back yeah!!! You be fucking her so good she does it right back and loves it when you groan her name as you strap her or finger her.
ᥫ᭡ You’re both watching a movie and your on her lap, your back facing her front as she spreads your legs facing the tv screen, using a vibrator and her fingers to fuck you silly. (Maybe add an anal plug or pull anal beed out each time you orgasm *gunshots*)
ᥫ᭡ Just before she’s about to cum from the ring of the strap you lay her back down on the surface of whatever object you happen to be fucking on. Spreading your cheeks as you slowly grind your pussy into her teasing her and making her chase her orgasm instead. You felt cocky and just let out “What’s the matter baby having a tough time?” as Sevika pants and grunts, even letting out whimpers because she wants to cum to you so bad. Especially with the way you are presenting yourself to her.
ᥫ᭡ Giving her kitten licks as she’s hand cuffed to your bed when you know fully well she wants you to eat her out like your starving but you just can’t help but edge her with either your tongue or your body. “You want my pussy slicked up against yours don’t you? Be patient love” and as soon as she is out of those cuffs it’s onnnnnn but she doesn’t fuck you til the bed breaks no she takes her sweet time relishing that you’re so close but so far just as she was.
ᥫ᭡ Lastly, PADDLE. That says big mama on it.
What muni long say??? “Hours and hours!!”
Thank you for coming to my ted talk 🍷

୨ৎ ── emetophbia comfort from rafe
- request a fic - masterlist -
— ⋆·˚ ༘ * requested!
you’re half sat on rafe’s lap, hunched over the toilet with tears streaming down your pale face. your body feels tingly and jittery, everything about this is hell.
your skin is covered in a hot layer of sweat, it’s dripping down the back of your neck and your hairline is damp. rafe’s hand is firmly rubbing small circles against your lower back.
your heart flutters heavily and your chest tightens as you feel a huge wave of nausea. you drop your head back down, emptying your stomach into the toilet.
“there it is… let it out, sweetheart…” his hand slides up your clammy back, his hand rubbing side to side across your shoulder blades.
you pull away from the toilet bowl with a sharp inhale, rafe hands you a glass of water to rinse your mouth out.
“you feel sticky, doll. let me take your top off…” he murmurs, pulling the shirt up over your head. “better?” he smiles softly, a small glisten of concern in his eyes.
“mhm…” you hum and nuzzle your face into his chest, your skin sticking to his. rafe’s arms wrap around you as he places a gentle kiss to your glistening temple. “i hate this so much…” you sniffle, your grip on him tightening.
“i know, baby… but you’re being very brave…” he kisses your cheek and frowns when he sees your breath hitch and your pasty face screw up.
you whine and press your palm over your mouth, tears brewing in your tired eyes. rafe gently pulls your hand away and leans you over the toilet, brushing some sweaty hairs off of your face.
“sweetheart, you have to throw up or you won’t get any better… we need to get rid of the bug, okay?” he explains tenderly, his voice smooth and low.
your body ignores your protests and your chest heaves, pushing the acidy contents out of you and into the toilet bowl.
when the vomiting stops, rafe slowly brings you back to the warm bed. even though you felt like you could sleep on the cold bathroom floor for twenty four hours, he’d much rather you be in bed.
he tucks your in despite you mumbling something along the lines of it being too hot.
“i’m sorry, doll… this is the first time im going to tell you i don’t care.” he huffs and presses a firm kiss to your warm forehead before heading back to the bathroom for a damp cloth.
he catches a glimpse of your pout in the dimly lit room, chuckling softly.
“don’t pout, princess… you’ll be freezing if you don’t have the covers over you…” he tells you, his voice is smooth and shows no hint of annoyance.
he wipes down your face and chest, then your back. the cool cloth giving you the relief you’d been needing for a long time. it had maybe been two hours since you started throwing up, but it felt like it had been 10.
once he had finished wiping the layer of sweat that had accumulated on your skin, which is now gaining back the pigment, he sets the cloth aside and lays down next to you.
he pulls your trembling frame into his, wrapping his toned arms around you. you naturally sink into his chest, humming softly.
“i need you to sleep as much as you can…” he murmurs, pressing two soft kisses to your head.
before he can even continue his sentence, your breathing evens out and your head drops down a little. he smirks and pulls it back towards his chest, closing his eyes to catch up on his much needed rest.

LIKE WE WERE MADE TO
of course your doting boyfriend satoru cares about you - he walks you to work every morning, packs your lunches, makes you tea every night before bed. he'd do anything for you, so of course he'll help you with your heat.

pairing: alpha!gojo x omega!f!reader
themes/content: dark content (omegaverse). smut. heats, fingering, knotting, light dumbification, satoru being a little lovesick. (wk: 1.3k)
a/n: YAYYY happy quintober everyone >:) here's my contribution for the @ficsforgaza kinktober event, so excited to be a part of this and check out the link below for more works under this project! view my full kinktober masterlist and the google form for signup to be tagged in other works too! hope you all enjoy :3
quintober masterlist | sign up form | ffg kinktober
Satoru had no idea what to expect as he ran home through the crowded streets; since reading your brief text of ‘Come home. Need you.’ the alarm bells sounding in his head had failed to quiet. He prepared for the worst, scenarios racing through his mind. Were you hurt?
As he barrels through your front door, he certainly doesn’t expect what lays behind it: you, sprawled out naked on the couch, flushed cheeks and sweating, two fingers buried deep inside your cunt.
“What’s going on-”
The sentence dies in his throat as his entire body tenses. Something new hangs in the air, something sending his every sense into overdrive. Almost sickeningly sweet, with an unmistakable, carnal need.
Your heat.
“‘Toru,” you breathe out - even his name on your tongue sounds different, an unfamiliar desperation dripping from it, “need you, now.”
In an instant he’s by your side, your scent growing exponentially stronger with each step he takes until it begins to cloud his own thoughts, overcome with his body’s innate desire to care for you, to care for his omega.
He’s never seen you like this - in your time dating, your suppressants had done their job; maybe that’s why you barely noticed when they ran out last week. Just a few hours ago he was walking hand-in-hand with you to work, your eyes glimmering as you told him about your plans for the day. Something about a big meeting with supervisors? He was honestly a bit distracted by the way your thumb drew circles along his skin, the new perfume he thought you were wearing, how pretty you looked all bundled up in your coat and scarf, like a little present waiting to be unwrapped - before you lightly smacked the back of his head.
“Are you even listening to me, ‘Toru?”
“No,” he beamed.
You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t stifle the smile spreading across your lips. Pressing a peck to his cheek, you turned on your heel with a small wave, your fingers dancing against the backdrop of the fall sky.
You always knew how to handle him - that was something he admired about you. He knew his personality easily veered into chaos, and yet you never seemed bothered by it, holding him in your palms and keeping him a stable shape. It took strength to do that, to not let his soul blend the edges of your own.
And yet, now, his strong, independent girlfriend has become nothing more than a sweet, desperate mess. The thought makes his teeth ache.
“Please,” the broken mewl pulls him back to the sweetness surrounding you as you continue pumping your fingers in and out.
Before he can choke out a response, your hands begin hastily removing his clothes, tugging off anything you can grab, palms sweaty against his torso as you unzip his uniform. With a harsh tear, his shirt falls to shreds on the floor, muscles rippling beneath. He was never known for his patience, after all - could you blame him?
“I got you, baby,” he murmurs, climbing on top of you so his thighs straddle your body, sinking into the cushions. “I’m here, m’gonna take good care of you.”
Two lanky fingers collect the slick pooling at your entrance as his free hand wraps around your wrist, gently pulling your palm from between your legs. He holds it above your head, leaning forward and blanketing you in his warmth. A wave of pleasure crashes over you as he slides inside, curling his fingertips towards that spot only he seems able to reach.
But it’s not enough.
“More, ‘Toru, please, need more,” you whine, your hips bucking up involuntarily. The words continue spilling into the air, desperate pleas for what you really need, what only he can give you.
“Okay, just - fuck - gimme a second.” And he’s panting already, the biological drive within him threatening to take over, to pin you down and fuck you until you’re nothing more than a limp little mess beneath him. But he’s better than that.
Right?
It takes every ounce of control to align his tip with your core and stay there for a moment, allowing you to adjust to the stretch as he knows you would want him to, but it’s made all the more difficult with your hands weakly grasping at his hips in an attempt to pull him forward.
“Please, pleasepleaseplease,” you babble, “pleaaaseee-aaaahhh.”
When his cock finally enters you, all your nerves alight in flames. Your vision goes white, eyes rolling back as he fills you up. Exactly what you needed. For a moment, everything stills, returning to your senses as his own musky scent begins mingling in the air with yours.
The brief clarity lets you pick up on the prettiest little whines falling from his lips at the way you envelop him so perfectly, two souls made for one another.
In only a few thrusts he’s sweating, his body sticking to yours with each push and pull of his pelvis. It’s hot, impossibly hot, both of your cheeks flushed and gasping for air. When his lips meet yours, it’s imprecise and messy, breathing into each other’s mouths as your tongues meld. He tastes like sugar and desire and love and cinnamon, like some dessert you were denied as a child for fear it would give you a tummy ache. But now, it’s the only thing satiating you, the only thing you can stomach.
“M’gonna make you feel better,” he’s mumbling into you, “gonna fuck you so good.”
“Only you, ‘Toru,” you babble, and you’re just as gone as he is, “has to be you.”
There’s truth to it, of course - only he could quell the growing ache inside you. Only your alpha. Your bodies were made for this, you realize: with each increasingly rough thrust, he hits every spot inside you so perfectly, and as your walls begin to flutter around him, you squeeze him in just the way that has him losing the last remaining shreds of his sanity.
Each beat of his heart echoes through his ears, overshadowing the wet squelches of your cunt around him and the lewd slapping of his balls against your ass. All he knows is you - his sweetheart, his other half, his omega.
As he ruts into you, something hot and thick begins coiling in his stomach, something unfamiliar, but the words are engraved into his soul as he slurs, “gonna take my knot f’me, yeah? ‘S’gonna help, okay?”
Teary eyes blink up at him, glossed over in pleasure as you nod. “Need it, please,” you whimper. Your mouth forms the word on pure instinct, “Alpha.”
And that’s all it takes to make him snap.
With a broken cry of your name, he releases into you.
The sensation of his cock twitching sends you over the edge, the heat in your chest burning brighter and brighter and brighter until it’s all you can feel.
As you come down from your high, there’s a new pressure in your core - you feel so, so fucking full.
His cum swells inside you as he cautiously adjusts his body weight. Pink cheeks and blue eyes find your gaze and he gives you a weak chuckle, met with your own equally fucked-out grin as you brush sweat-slicked hair from his forehead.
It takes effort to slow his breathing enough to speak, enough to think. “Your first heat with me,” he muses to himself. His heart warms at the thought: now he can take care of you in the way he was made to. “Love you s’much, baby,” he hums, pressing a sloppy kiss to your lips before nuzzling into your neck, softly breathing in the warm scent.
“Love you, too.” Your fingertips slowly scratch his undercut, the haze now clearing enough that you swear you hear him purr. Your cunt involuntarily clenches around him - around his knot - as you gently run your nails down his back. His body melds perfectly around yours. “Alpha.”

hiiiiii, can you make reader giving the bllk boys a puppy or a kitten please? 🫶
(rin, bachira, reo, nagi, sae (+) maybe it’s their dream dog or cat :3
“𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐢𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞”

a/n: hiii ofc this is so cute ❤️
i, too, would name my pet yuzu
ft. itoshi rin, bachira meguru, mikage reo, nagi seishiro, itoshi sae, isagi yoichi
itoshi rin
rin does not ask for a kitten. rin does not want a kitten. rin receives a kitten anyway.
“what the hell is this.”
says that with a cat in his hoodie, purring on his chest, and his entire aura softened like a warm baguette fresh from the oven.
it’s a tiny grey one you found abandoned near your apartment, and when you bring it to him, you expect him to say no. instead, he stares at the mewling fluff ball for 0.2 seconds before going: “it’s cold. give me your blanket.”
cue you watching him spend 20 minutes constructing a blanket fort around it like a cat IKEA architect.
names it something really blunt like kuro. or neko.
says “don’t touch her too much. she’s scared.” like you’re the guest.
she ends up sleeping on his face. you take a picture. he threatens to burn your phone. doesn’t follow through.
bachira meguru
he almost cries when you show up at his door with a golden retriever puppy in your arms.
“NO. WAY. is that my son? IS THAT MY FUR SON???”
immediately drops to the floor and starts barking back. puppy’s barking. he’s barking. you’re filming. it’s a family moment.
names him “chompy.” refuses to explain.
goes on walks with him wearing matching jackets. even buys him goggles.
they’re inseparable. the dog howls when he leaves for practice. bachira howls back through the window.
teaches him stupid tricks like spinning in circles, headbutting people, and booping noses on command.
one day you come home to find him and the dog in a pile of treats on the floor. “he deserved a little snack party!” sure. and now your kitchen’s a crime scene.
mikage reo
reo stares at the calico kitten you brought like you stole her from a museum.
“she’s... beautiful. what if i’m not good enough for her?”
spoils her immediately. you are no longer his favorite girl.
gets her a princess-themed litter box. orders organic, salmon-glazed kibble with prebiotics. hires a cat nutritionist.
takes her to the vet in a designer carrier. wears sunglasses like he’s in a movie.
starts saying things like “i think she has an eye for luxury.” no, reo, she’s literally biting a sock.
names her something extra like lady caviar mikage III.
every time she lays on his chest he looks like he just got knighted.
she bit his finger once and he told you it was “because he deserved it.”
nagi seishiro
stares at the puppy you give him for a solid minute like it’s a math equation.
“... is it maintenance?”
you promise to do most of the work. nagi: “okay. sick.” two days later, he’s carrying it in his hoodie like it’s his new spawn.
puppy’s just as lazy as him. sleeps 22 hours a day. they nap together like matching plush toys.
names it something weird like tofu.
“don’t touch tofu, he’s resting.” he says, with tofu upside-down on his lap, tongue out like a slug.
tries to train him by just looking at him. no commands. just vibes.
when it works once (she sits), nagi gets so smug. “we understand each other. no need to talk.”
takes him to convenience stores in a sling like a baby. asks if he can get a dog discount. you leave him outside on purpose.
itoshi sae
gives you a blank stare when you drop the orange tabby into his arms.
“... what’s this?”
“love.”
raises a brow. but the cat headbutts his chin and immediately starts purring like a chainsaw and you see the pixelation of his soul.
acts cool and unaffected at first. until you catch him letting her sleep in his suitcase. and using a fake voice to talk to her.
“what do you want, you little gremlin. yeah? food? yeah? you wanna destroy my couch again?”
names her yuzu. pretends it’s random. actually named her after your favorite drink.
goes full tsundere. “she’s not mine, she just follows me around.” she literally sleeps on his laptop keyboard while he works.
lowkey checks his camera roll every night to make sure she’s in at least five new pictures.
“if anything happens to her, i’m suing god.”
isagi yoichi
when you surprise him with a shiba inu puppy, he screams.
“IS THIS REAL?? ARE YOU REAL?? ARE WE MARRIED???”
immediately puts him on his Instagram story with “me & my son 🥹”
names him something super normal like mochi. acts like it’s the most creative name on earth.
treats the puppy like a teammate. “good job, bud! way to poop outside!!”
you walk in on him training drills with the dog. like. actual cone drills. baby shiba zooming through like a pro athlete.
"he's got stamina. he could play for bastard in five years."
buys a matching hoodie for all three of you. “family fit check!!”
cries a little when the puppy licks his face for the first time. “he loves me.”
sometimes falls asleep with him on the couch and mumbles in his sleep: “pass it here, mochi…”

The quiet of the mornings was a fragile thing, and it had been shattered almost an hour ago by the insistent chime of the doorbell. Bucky lay in bed, with his gaze fixed on the ceiling as he listened to the muffled voices drifting from the front door. She’d answered it quickly but politely, though the conversation had dragged on far longer than it should have.
He sighed, the comfort and warmth of the bed doing little to soothe the irritation bubbling under his skin. Alone time had become a rare treasure, and lately, it seemed like everyone in town had made it their mission to interfere. He knew the elderly neighbor meant well, but after endless minutes of unsolicited chatter, his patience was wearing thin.
Her polite attempts to wrap things up were obvious, even from here: a gentle laugh, a soft, “Oh, well, I won’t keep you much longer,” but the woman didn’t seem to notice. Or maybe she just didn’t care. Bucky’s jaw tightened for the first time in the day as he swung his legs over the side of the bed and sat up, running a hand through his sleep-mussed hair.
With a grumble, he stood and pulled on his jeans, then grabbed his flannel shirt from the chair in the corner. His boots thudded softly against the wooden floor as he crossed to the hallway, shrugging into his coat and grabbing his keys from the hook by the door.
When he reached the entryway, he stopped briefly, flicking his eyes between the two women. She glanced over her shoulder at him, and her expression was somewhere between apologetic and exasperated. He arched a brow, his lips pressing into a thin line as he stepped forward.
“Excuse me,” he said, his voice low but polite, nodding at the elderly woman as he signaled his intention to pass.
“Oh!” The neighbor blinked up at him, clearly startled but recovering quickly. “Heading out so early?”
“I’m going to the workshop,” he almost growled as he glanced at her. Then, turning to Y/n, he softened slightly. “Call you later.”
She tilted her head, and a small frown tugged at her lips. “Oh, And breakfast? Want me to make y-”
“No need, darling,” he cut her off gently but firmly, turning on his heel before she could protest.
The screen door creaked and slammed shut behind him, and he strode toward the truck with purposeful steps. Sliding into the driver’s seat, he let out a deep breath, gripping the wheel as he stared at the empty road ahead.
Enough was enough, they needed a break. A time for just the two of them, away from the endless interruptions and the ever-watchful eyes of the town. The idea took root in his mind as the engine roared to life, and a plan took form as he drove toward the workshop. A cabin, a weekend, and nothing but the quiet woods surrounding them.
---
The workshop smelled of sawdust and varnish, and the familiar hum of machinery was already buzzing in the background as Bucky pulled up. He parked the truck, killed the engine, and sat for a moment, gripping the steering wheel as the plan solidified in his mind. The only problem? It was the height of the season. Every halfway-decent cabin in the area would already be booked.
“Damn it,” he muttered, leaning his head back against the seat with a groan.
Swallowing his pride, he pushed open the truck door and made his way inside. The workshop was bustling as usual, but Sam spotted him almost immediately, his sharp eyes narrowing as he approached. “Morning, sunshine,” he drawled, already a grin tugging at his lips. “You look grumpier than usual. What’s up?”
“Nothing,” Bucky replied curtly, shrugging off his coat and draping it over a nearby chair.
Sam raised a brow, clearly unconvinced. “Uh-huh. Sure. You’re stomping around like someone stole your breakfast, but it’s ‘nothing.’ Got it.”
Bucky shot him a warning look, but Sam only chuckled, leaning against the workbench with crossed arms.
“Actually…” Bucky started, gruffly, “you know any cabins ‘round here? Something quiet. Away from people.”
Sam’s grin widened immediately. “You mean, like your house?”
Bucky leveled him with a dirty look, “Farther away.”
Sam’s grin widened. “Oh, this is gonna be good. Why do you need a faraway cabin, Buck?”
“Just answer the question,” Bucky muttered, pulling a pencil from behind his ear and fiddling with it to avoid Sam’s knowing gaze.
“Alright, alright,” Sam said, smirking. “There’s a couple of places I know of, but good luck finding one that’s not booked. You’re cutting it close, man.”
Bucky huffed, staring down at the workbench. “Figured. That’s why I’m asking you.”
Sam tilted his head, his grin turning sly. “And why exactly do you need a cabin? I thought you hated leaving your place for anything that wasn’t absolutely necessary.”
“Because,” Bucky grumbled, his voice tight with reluctance, “we could use a break. Just us. No interruptions.”
Sam’s grin practically split his face. “Oh, so it’s for her.” He let out a low whistle, clearly enjoying Bucky’s discomfort. “Man, you’re whipped. I never thought I’d see the day.”
“Sam,” Bucky warned, already starting to get irritated. “Are you gonna help or not?”
Sam chuckled, holding up his hands in a mock surrender. “Relax, big guy. I’ve got a cousin who rents out his place sometimes. It’s a little rustic, but it’s quiet, and I’m pretty sure he keeps a spot open for last-minute bookings.”
Bucky perked up slightly, meeting his gaze with Sam’s. “Think he’ll go for it?”
“For you? Probably,” Sam said, grinning. “But only if you promise to stop scowling at everyone for the rest of the week.”
----
By midmorning, Sam’s cousin had called back, and to Bucky’s relief, there was an opening. Apparently, Sam had pulled some strings, mentioning a few owed favors that Bucky didn’t bother asking about. He wasn’t thrilled about relying on Sam’s connections, but he’d take the win. The cabin was booked for the weekend, tucked deep in the woods with no neighbors for miles, a perfect escape.
The morning passed uneventfully after that. He kept busy at the workshop, occupying his mind with the trip and all the things he’d need to prepare. It wasn’t until just after noon that the door creaked open, and the sound of boots on the wooden floor caught his attention.
“Brought you something,” her voice chimed, light and warm, cutting through the steady hum of saws and chatter.
Bucky looked up to see her standing there, the familiar green tupperware in her hands and a smile tugging at her lips. His heart softened instantly, but with Sam and a couple of others milling about, he cleared his throat and kept his expression neutral.
“You didn’t have to do that,” he muttered, stepping closer to take the container.
“I wanted to,” she replied. “Figured you didn’t even have breakfast, did you?”
Caught, Bucky gave her a small, sheepish nod. “Thanks, sweetheart,” he said, low enough that only she could hear.
She tilted her head, widening her smile. “You’re welcome. Just make sure you eat it before it gets cold.”
He was about to step back when she leaned in, brushing a quick kiss against his stubbled cheek. His muscles tensed on instinct, heat rushing to his face as he shot a quick glance around the room. Sam, of course, was already watching, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
“Aww, such pampering,” he teased, dragging out the words. “Now I get why he wants to-”
Bucky’s glare cut him off mid-sentence, sharp and unrelenting. If looks could kill, Sam’s head would’ve been obliterated on the spot.
“Shut it, Wilson,” he growled, under his breath.
Sam held up his hands in mock surrender, but the grin didn’t leave his face. “Alright, alright. No need to get your flannel in a twist. Just saying, man, she’s a keeper.”
Bucky muttered something under his breath, and his ears tinged pink as he turned back to her, holding the tupper like it might save him from further embarrassment. She caught the faint tension in his shoulders and, more curiously, the lingering echo of Sam’s teasing. Tilting her head, she gave him a pointed look.
“So,” she asked lightly, her voice curious but playful, “what do you want?”
Bucky blinked, his brows knitting in confusion. “What?”
She arched a brow, twitching the corner of her mouth with amusement. “I pamper you,” she said, gesturing toward the tupperware in his hands, “so you want...?”
His jaw tightened, and a muscle in his cheek twitched as he quickly looked away. “Nothin’,” he muttered gruffly. “He just likes to talk.”
Her smile widened, and she folded her arms leaning slightly closer, clearly not buying his attempt to brush it off. He shifted awkwardly under her gaze, fumbling with the lid of the container.
“I should probably eat this,” he said finally, rushed and uneven, “and, uh, get back to the project.” He scratched the back of his neck, brushing the short ponytail he’d tied earlier that morning.
She stifled a laugh, and her eyes softened as she watched him retreat into himself with that signature mix of bashfulness and stubbornness. “Alright,” she said gently, stepping back with a teasing glint in her eye. “Enjoy the casserole, and don’t forget to actually eat it this time, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah,” he mumbled, turning toward the workbench with a slight hunch to his shoulders, clearly hoping to escape further scrutiny.
Behind him, Sam’s quiet chuckle reached his ears, and he sent another sharp glare in his direction. But as he settled back into his work, the faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth betrayed him.
-----
Bucky parked his truck outside her house. He grabbed the keys from the ignition and swung the door open, but as he stepped down, a sharp pang shot through his left arm.
“Dammit,” he muttered, flexing his fingers and rolling his shoulder as he slammed the truck door shut. For the past two days, the damp weather had been wreaking havoc on the mess of titanium and bone beneath his skin. He grimaced, shaking it off as he made his way up the porch steps.
Fishing the spare key from his pocket, he fumbled with the lock for a moment before letting himself in.
The house was quiet, her laptop sat open on the coffee table, the screen glowing with text she’d been working on. She wasn’t in sight, probably in the bathroom or kitchen. Shrugging off his coat, he draped it over a chair and wandered closer to the coffee table, drawn by the colorful streaks of red and green she’d marked across the page.
He leaned in, squinting at the scene she was editing. A heated moment between a widowed heroine and a cowboy -one who, judging by the way she’d scribbled well-endowed in the margins- wasn’t exactly shy about his physical assets.
Bucky’s brow quirked as he read further. The barn. The hay. The cowboy’s intense sense of duty. The way the poor widow…wait. Was this guy seriously using a breeding-
“Bucky!”
He flinched, startled by her voice, and straightened so fast his neck cracked. She stood in the doorway, wide eyes darting between him and her laptop.
“I didn’t hear you come in,” she said, rushing forward and snapping the laptop shut faster than he could blink.
He raised his hands in mock innocence, though the corner of his mouth twitched. “Didn’t mean to snoop,” he drawled with amusement. “Just... couldn’t help but notice what kind of ‘research’ you’re doing these days.”
Her cheeks burned as she folded her arms, trying -and failing- to look unbothered. “It’s not research. It’s editing and proof-reading,” she corrected quickly. “And you’re supposed to be grabbing your tools, not reading over my shoulder!”
Bucky smirked, crossing his arms as he leaned casually against the back of the couch. “That what you call it? Editing?” She narrowed her eyes “I didn’t say anything about the, uh...” His smirk deepened as her glare sharpened. “...dedication that cowboy seems to have toward the widow and the old breeding stock on the barn.”
“Oh my god,” she groaned, covering her face with her hands.
Chuckling, Bucky pushed off the couch and moved closer. “Relax, sweetheart.” He brushed a hand against her arm, warmly and reassuringly. “I came to grab my tools, but... I’ve got something to tell you.”
She peeked at him through her fingers. “What’s that?”
His smirk faded into something softer, more thoughtful. “How do you feel about a weekend away? Just us. No laptops, no interruptions, no... cowboys.”
Her hands dropped from her face, and her eyes widened. “Wait, really?”
He nodded, scratching the back of his neck under his short ponytail. “Yeah. Got a cabin lined up. Quiet. Middle of nowhere. Thought it’d be good to... get outta here for a bit.”
Her expression melted into a warm smile, and she stepped closer, resting her hands lightly on his chest. “That sounds perfect, Buck.”
He ducked his head, and his lips twitched into a small, shy smile. “Figured you’d like it.”
She leaned up, brushing a kiss against his lips. “I love it. And you.”
His heart stuttered but he recovered quickly, pulling her closer. “Love you too, darlin’,”
She tilted her head with a playful glint in her eye as her hands slid down his chest. “So,” she began, teasing but curious, “what’s the occasion? Don’t tell me I forgot some special date I’m not aware of?”
Bucky froze for a split second, fidgeting with the sleeve of his sweater as his eyes darted briefly away. “I just-” he started, but the words got stuck in his throat. He kicked himself inwardly, forcing himself to man up and meet her gaze. Taking a breath, he straightened his shoulders.
“I want alone time with you,” he said firmly, tumbling out the words with an edge of determination.
Her lips parted in slight surprise, though her smile didn’t fade. She somehow understood where this was going, but knowing how rare it was for him to be this straightforward, she decided to play innocent and coax him into saying more.
“Alone?” she echoed, tilting her head. “But you already sleep here four days a week, and normally on weekends we-”
“Completely alone,” he cut her off.
She blinked at the rare flash of certainty in his voice, but his grumpy pout that followed had her stifling a laugh.
“No boy scout cookie sellers,” he grumbled while his expression darkened at the memory of being roped into buying five boxes last week. “No bored old ladies ringing the doorbell to trap you all morning. And not that friend of yours who always shows up for baking lessons she doesn’t even take seriously.”
“Okay, okay,” she chuckled at his increasing exasperation. “I get it.”
His frown softened slightly, but he still looked serious.
“And...” she ventured, with a sly grin, “what exactly are your plans for those days alone, hm?”
Bucky’s ears flushed red, and his mouth opened as though to respond, but for a moment, nothing came out. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, flicking his eyes to the side before landing back on her.
“Well...” he started, “figured we could... I don’t know. Talk. Sleep in. Walk in the woods. Maybe build a fire. Eat something you didn’t have to cook.” He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “Just... be.”
Her heart softened, and her grin faded into a gentle smile as she stepped closer. “That sounds perfect, Buck,” she said softly, brushing a hand against his cheek.
His eyes searched hers for a moment, then he exhaled a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” she said, leaning in to press a kiss to his lips as she added, “especially for the part where we could wander around naked at any hour knowing no one would come.”
Bucky froze, tightening his hands instinctively on her waist. His gaze flickered with something darker, primal, as her words hung in the air.
She bit her lip, feeling her cheeks warming as she saw his expression shift, at his blue eyes narrowing with interest. Emboldened, she tilted her head closer, dropping her voice into a sultry whisper. “And… since there are no neighbors... we can be all loud... and naughty.”
The growl that escaped him was low and deep, sending a delicious shiver racing down her spine. His hands slid down to her hips, holding her firmly as he stepped closer “You’re playin’ a dangerous game, sweetheart,” he murmured, his breath warm against her cheek.
“Am I?” she teased, as she trailed her fingers up his chest, her nails brushing lightly over the fabric of his sweater.
“You are,” he confirmed, tightening his grip just enough to make her breath hitch. “You sure you can keep up?”
Her laughter was soft and breathless as she leaned in, brushing her lips against his ear. “Guess we’ll find out, won’t we?”
----
The weekend came by, and they headed off to the cabin. It was nice. The sun was dipping low, casting a golden glow over the snowy landscape. The truck rumbled steadily along the winding road, and the soft hum of the cozy heater filled the silence between them.
But as they rounded a bend, the truck jolted suddenly, listing to one side.
“Great,” Bucky muttered, pulling to the shoulder and cutting the engine. He stepped out into the crisp evening air, already suspecting the problem before he even reached the rear tire. The flat was obvious, the sagging rubber was almost completely deflated. He muttered another curse, running a hand through his hair.
He heard the passenger door open and turned to see her climbing out, tugging her coat tighter around herself as the snow began to drift down in lazy flakes.
“What’re you doing?” he asked, frowning as she approached.
“Coming to help,” she replied simply, her boots crunching against the snow as she reached his side.
“You should get back in the truck,” he said, gruffly but not unkind. “You’ll get sick out here.”
She raised a brow, crossing her arms. “The same could be said for you.”
“I’m fine,” he muttered, already crouching to pull the jack and wrench from the toolbox in the bed of the truck.
“Bucky,” she said softly, stepping closer. “You’re not fine. I know your arm’s bothering you.”
He froze briefly, before resuming his task without looking at her. “It’s nothin’. Just the weather messin’ with it.”
“And you were going to say something, when? she retorted. “Let me help. You don’t have to do this alone.”
He shook his head, gripping the jack with his good hand and positioning it under the truck. “I’ve got it,” he said, firmly. “Go sit in the truck where it’s warm.”
“Bucky,” she pressed, kneeling beside him despite the cold seeping through her jeans. “Stubborn man, you’re in pain, you’re not fooling me.”
He shot her a sideways glance, pressing his lips into a thin line. “I’m not lettin’ you freeze your ass off out here. Go inside.”
She reached out, placing a hand on his arm, not the one that ached, but the other, steady and sure. “I’m not going anywhere,” she said softly.
His jaw clenched, and his resolve flickered as her words settled over him. Finally, he sighed, easing the tension in his shoulders just slightly. “Fine,” he muttered. “You can hold the damn flashlight.”
She smiled, leaning up to press a quick kiss on his cheek before grabbing the flashlight from the truck. As she illuminated the work area, he couldn’t help the small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Stubborn woman,” he muttered under his breath.
The flat tire took longer than it should have. His left arm ached like a bitch, and each motion was a reminder of the puzzle of titanium and bone that would never quite work the way it used to. He tried to power through, determined to manage on his own, but his movements grew slower and more strained.
“Here, let me help,” she said softly, stepping forward as he struggled to lift the wheel into place.
“I got it,” he gritted out, but his grip faltered just enough for her to step in, steadying the weight with him.
It stung more than he cared to admit, her intervention feeling like a bruise to his pride. Once the wheel was finally secured, he tightened the lug nuts in silence, his mood darkening with every passing minute.
By the time they climbed back into the truck, the snow was falling heavier. The heater hummed softly, but the tension in the cab was palpable.
Bucky stared sternly at the road, gripping the wheel as his mind spiraled. The sting of the cold on his bare hands, the ache in his arm, the fact that he hadn’t been able to handle the damn tire without her help, it all gnawed at him, feeding the deep-rooted insecurities he tried so hard to bury.
“You okay?” she asked gently, breaking the silence.
“Yeah,” he said shortly, not looking at her.
She hesitated, scanning his profile. The stiffness in his posture, the tightness of his jaw, the way his hands gripped the wheel like it might slip from his grasp, she knew he wasn’t okay.
“Do you want some coffee?” she offered, lifting the thermos she’d packed. “It’s still warm.”
“No, thanks,” he replied, clipped.
She frowned, and her concern grew as the silence stretched on. His hands, red and raw from the cold, caught her attention, and she wondered if the pain had worsened.
“Bucky,” she said softly, “do you want me to drive? Your hands must be hurting after working in this weather without gloves.”
That did it.
His knuckles whitened on the steering wheel, his jaw locking as the words struck a nerve. He knew she meant well, but the offer felt like a confirmation of everything his mind was already whispering, that he wasn’t enough. That he couldn’t even take care of something as simple as a flat tire without help.
“I said I’m fine,” he muttered tensely.
She bit her lip, sensing the storm brewing beneath his calm exterior but unsure how to reach him. “It’s not a big deal,” she tried, her tone gentle. “We’re in this together, remember? There’s no shame in letting me help.”
His grip tightened further, and he exhaled sharply through his nose. “I said I can handle it,” he said firmly, his voice edged with frustration he hadn’t meant to direct at her.
He drove silently, fixing his gaze on the snow-dusted road ahead, while his mind churned with doubts. He hated the way he’d snapped at her, hated that she’d seen him struggle. Most of all, he hated the nagging voice in the back of his head, whispering that maybe he wasn’t enough for her.
---
The rest of the trip passed in silence. She had shifted slightly toward the window, leaning her shoulder against the door, with her gaze fixed on the snow-covered forest rushing past. The quiet wasn’t oppressive, but it wasn’t comfortable either.
Bucky’s grip on the wheel loosened. He hadn’t meant to snap, but the words had come out sharp anyway, cutting through her concern with the jagged edge of his pride.
The tension in his shoulders eased slightly as guilt settled in its place. She’d only been trying to help, and he’d let his frustration get the better of him.
At some point, the need to bridge the growing chasm between them grew too strong to ignore. He cleared his throat softly, his voice came low and gruff as he murmured, “A little coffee sounds nice now.”
There was no answer.
Frowning slightly, he glanced over at her, ready to apologize. But the words caught in his throat when he saw her.
Her head rested lightly against the window, her eyes closed, breathing softly and even. She’d fallen asleep.
Of course, he thought, with a pang of guilt. It was late, the air outside was cold, and to top it off, he hadn’t even been good company. He’d acted like an idiot, stewing in his frustration instead of appreciating the woman who had braved the freezing weather just to help him.
His gaze lingered on her for a moment, taking in the soft curve of her lips and the way her lashes rested against her cheeks. She looked peaceful, and the sight tugged at something deep inside him, making him tighten his grip on the wheel.
He returned his focus to the road, clenching his jaw briefly as he wrestled with the mess of emotions swirling in his chest. He couldn’t undo the way he’d acted, but he could make up for it. For now, he’d let her rest, keep her warm and comfortable.
----
As the cabin came into view at last, tucked into a small clearing in the snow-dusted forest, Bucky frowned slightly. It was smaller than he’d expected and not exactly what you’d call visually appealing. The roof looked like it hadn’t been repaired in years, the paint on the shutters was peeling, and the porch sagged just enough to make him hesitate about stepping on it.
He sighed quietly, chastising himself for being so quick to judge. Focus on the goal, he thought. Time alone with her. No neighbors. No interruptions. That’s all that matters.
She stirred beside him as he turned off the engine, and her eyes fluttered open. She sat up quickly, stretching as she glanced at him. “Oh, sorry I fell asleep,” she murmured, her voice still a little thick.
He shook his head, brushing off her apology. “Don’t worry about it,” he said softly. “I’m the one who should be sorry. I was... a grump. Didn’t mean to ruin the start of the trip.”
She tilted her head, and her gaze softened as a small smile tugged at her lips. “You didn’t ruin anything, Buck.”
He gave her a faint smile in return before glancing back at the cabin. “Let’s get inside,” he said, reaching for the door handle.
Getting the door open was another matter entirely. The old lock protested against his attempts, creaking and groaning as he jiggled the key. After a few muttered curses and a bit of elbow grease, the door finally swung open with a loud creak.
He stepped inside first. He’d fantasized that even if the cabin looked old on the outside, the inside would be a pleasant surprise, something rustic but cozy, maybe with modern upgrades to make up for the exterior.
No such luck.
The interior was just as outdated as the outside. The furniture was mismatched and worn, the wallpaper was peeling in places, and the lighting was dim at best. The faint smell of wood smoke lingered in the air, and the fireplace looked like it hadn’t been used in years.
Bucky stood in the center of the small room, crossing his arms as he took it all in. He’d definitely be having a chat with Sam about this cousin of his when they got back.
But for now, he had to find something positive to say, even as the disappointment tugged at the corners of his mind. He glanced back at her as she stepped in, brushing her hands over her arms to warm up.
“It’s... clean,” he finally said, feeling the words awkward as they left his mouth.
She blinked at him, then looked around, and her lips twitched as she fought back a laugh. “Clean, huh?”
He shrugged, pressing his lips into a thin line. “Let’s see... also it’s got four walls and a roof. That’s somethin’, right?” He sighed, glancing at the dingy fireplace. “I’ll start the fire.”
She smiled softly, setting her bag by the door. “I’ll grab the luggage,” she announced, turning toward the truck.
“Wait,” he called, already stepping toward her. “I can-”
“Nope,” she cut him off, spinning on her heel to face him, hands on her hips. “Don’t even start, James Buchanan Barnes.”
His jaw tightened slightly, and he crossed his arms. “You shouldn’t be out in this snow. It’s freezing.”
“Exactly,” she retorted, pointing at him. “Which is why you’re not going out there either. Your arm’s already giving you trouble, and I’m not about to let you make it worse.”
“I’m fine,” he said gruffly, but she wasn’t having it.
“Fine, huh?” she shot back, raising a brow. “Last I checked, we’re not living in the caves anymore. You don’t have to do everything yourself. I’m perfectly capable of hauling a couple of bags.”
“Darlin’-” he started, but she stepped closer, resting her hand lightly on his chest.
“Bucky,” she said gently. “Let me do this. You’re not proving anything by pushing yourself in this weather. Just... let me help, okay?”
He hesitated, and his jaw worked as his eyes searched hers. He hated the thought of sitting idle while she did the heavy lifting, but the concern in her gaze gave him pause. Finally, he sighed, slightly slumping his shoulders in defeat.
“Alright,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair. “But take it slow.”
“Always do,” she said with a small smile, leaning up to press a quick kiss to his cheek before heading out the door.
-----
Starting the fire was proving to be yet another test for Bucky’s patience. He muttered a string of curses under his breath as the stubborn logs refused to catch, the kindling only sputtering weakly before fizzling out. At this point, he was starting to wonder if this whole thing was part of some hidden camera prank, because damn.
She had reentered the cabin while he was still wrestling with the fireplace, carrying their luggage and moving quietly so as not to disrupt his focus -or, more accurately-, his battle with the firewood. She unpacked their belongings in the small bedroom, making the best of the limited space and creaky furniture.
When she finished, Bucky was still hunched over the fireplace, furrowed brows and lips set in a grim line of determination. Suppressing a smile, she decided to let him be, for now, heading to the kitchen instead.
The tiny space was quaint, with mismatched cabinets and appliances that looked older than she was. She busied herself getting familiar with it, unpacking their groceries, and pulling out a few ingredients for dinner.
After a while, she peeked through the kitchen doorway to check on him. He was sitting back on his heels, rubbing his elbow absently, clearly, the ache in his arm was getting to him. The fireplace remained cold and unlit.
She sighed. She knew a direct approach wouldn’t do any good, not when his pride was already bruised. Instead, an idea formed in her mind, and she couldn’t help the mischievous grin that crept across her face.
“Um, Buck?” she called, with a note of uncertainty. “Can you come here for a second? There’s something about the water heater I don’t understand.”
His head snapped up, furrowing his brows as he stood and brushed off his hands. “The water heater? What’s wrong with it?”
“I’m not sure,” she replied, feigning confusion as she poked her head out of the kitchen. “I just need you to take a look.”
Without hesitation, he crossed the room. “Alright, let’s see what’s goin’ on.”
As soon as he stepped into the kitchen, she turned to face him, with wide, innocent eyes. He barely had time to notice that nothing in the room seemed out of place before she stepped forward, grabbing him by the front of his sweater and gently pushing him back against the counter.
“What the-” he started, gruffly with confusion as his ass hit the edge of the counter.
Her hands slid up to rest on his chest, and her fingers curled into the fabric as she looked up at him with mischief. “Gotcha,” she said softly, with a playful smile tugging at her lips.
He blinked, arching his brow as he realized he’d been ambushed. “This ain’t about the water heater, is it?”
“Not even a little,” she admitted, tilting her head as her grin widened.
His lips twitched, quirking upward despite his earlier sour mood. “You think you’re clever, huh?”
“Mm-hmm,” she murmured, leaning closer, and pressing a kiss to his stubbled jaw. “Now, let me make you a deal.”
He arched a brow. “I’m listenin’.”
“You come to sit down and rest that arm of yours,” she said, her tone gentle but firm, “and I’ll take care of the fire.”
“You?” he asked, his voice skeptical but not unkind.
“Me,” she replied confidently, pulling back just enough to meet his gaze. “Trust me, Buck. I’ve got this.”
He hesitated, and his jaw worked as he weighed his pride against the undeniable ache in his arm. Finally, he exhaled a slow breath and nodded. “Alright,” he muttered gruffly, but his tone was tinged with reluctant gratitude. “But if you need help-”
“I’ll call for my big, strong lumberjack,” she teased, brushing another kiss against his cheek before stepping back toward the fireplace.
The thing was, she’d anticipated this exact scenario. Having grown up with the conveniences of city living, she’d given in to her practical instincts at the general store and bought a couple of ignition discs, just in case. No fuss, no frustration. Just place them under the wood, light them, and voilà.
She crouched near the hearth, arranging the wood carefully before sliding one of the discs into place. With a quick flick of the lighter, the flame caught instantly, spreading evenly and licking at the dry kindling.
Behind her, she heard the sound of a chair scraping softly against the floor. She glanced back to find Bucky standing there, arms crossed, one brow quirked as he watched the flames come to life.
“Couldn’t you, you know… have told me sooner you had those?” he asked, with a mix of curiosity and mild exasperation.
She straightened, dusting her hands off on her jeans as she met his gaze deadpan. “Well, you weren’t exactly in the mood for more interventions earlier.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair as his lips tugged into a wry, self-aware smile. “Fair point,” he muttered, slumping his shoulders slightly. “I’m sorry... again.”
She stepped closer, brushing her hand lightly against his arm. “It’s okay, Buck. We’re here now. Fire’s going, and we’ll be warm in no time.”
He nodded, easing the tension in his posture as he let out a slow breath. “Alright,” he glanced toward the kitchen. “Why don’t you let me take care of dinner? You’ve already done enough. I’ll check it, stir it, and whatever else it needs.”
She opened her mouth to protest, but he held up a hand, cutting her off before she could get the words out.
“And you,” he continued, his tone firm but warm, “are going to take a shower and relax. You’ve done more than enough already.”
Her brow furrowed slightly, her hands resting on her hips. “Bucky, I don’t mind helping finishing-”
“I know you don’t,” he said, stepping closer and dipping his head to meet her gaze. “But I want to do this. You’ve been running around taking care of everything since we got here. Let me handle this, darlin’.”
Finally, she let out a soft sigh, quirking her lips into a faint smile. “Alright, fine,” she relented.
With that, she headed toward the small bathroom, and soon the faint sound of falling water filled the cabin. Bucky moved to the kitchen, rolling up his sleeves as he inspected the bubbling pot on the stove. He stirred it slowly, tasting the broth and deciding in record time it was ready. With a satisfied nod, he turned off the burner, set the lid in place, and leaned against the counter for a moment, letting the warmth from the stove soothe his thoughts.
She wasn’t the only one who got to pull sneaky moves, he decided, and he figured it was about time to even the score.
Quietly, he walked toward the bathroom, his footsteps oh so soft against the wooden floor. As he moved, he peeled off his sweater and undershirt, letting them fall into a pile near the bedroom door. His boots and socks followed, then his jeans, until he was down to nothing but a faint smirk as he reached the bathroom door.
The faint creak of the hinges went unnoticed, her voice carrying softly over the sound of the running water. She was singing along to a tune playing on her phone.
The flimsy shower curtain barely masked her silhouette, and he stepped closer, his shadow looming behind it as he reached for the edge.
She didn’t notice a thing, too lost in her song to hear the quiet rustle of the curtain rings sliding along the rod.
Until he stepped in.
“Bucky!” she squeaked, spinning around as the cool air rushed in with him.
He grinned, utterly unrepentant as he crowded into the small space, warm water splashing over his chest. “What?” he asked, feigning innocence. “Figured I’d save some water. Also, thought you liked surprises, like that little ambush in the kitchen” he murmured, as his hands found her waist, pulling her closer under the spray.
Before she could come up with a witty response, he dipped his head and captured her lips in a slow, lingering kiss. His touch was unhurried but thorough as his hands started to explore the soft, already-soaped curves of her body with an ease that made her toes curl.
She gasped softly against his mouth, curling her fingers instinctively into his damp hair, pulling him closer. Bucky,” she murmured between kisses, though the protest in her tone was faint.
“Hmm?” he hummed, his lips trailing from her mouth to her jaw, then down the column of her neck, leaving a warm path against her slick skin.
“This is...” She paused, her words faltering as his hands slid lower, steadying her against the slippery tiles.
“This is me,” he murmured, his voice deep and gravelly, “making up for being an ass earlier.”
A soft laugh escaped her, while her breasts brushed against him as she tilted her head to meet his gaze. “This how you apologize?”
He smiled, tracing lazy circles against her hip with his thumb. “Depends,” he drawled. “You acceptin’ it?”
She tilted her head, her lips curving into a slow, teasing smile as her fingers trailed down his chest. “Hmm,” she mused, pretending to consider it. “I don’t know... You were kind of a grump earlier.”
His smirk faltered just slightly, a flicker of guilt crossing his face. “Yeah,” he admitted softly, his hand tightening gently on her waist. “I was.”
Her heart softened at his honesty, her teasing tone giving way to something gentler. “You know, all you had to do was talk to me,” she said, brushing her fingers lightly up over his collarbone.
“I know,” he murmured, lowering his gaze for a moment. “I just... get in my head sometimes. Don’t mean to take it out on you.”
She cupped his jaw, guiding his eyes back to hers, brushing her thumb against the faint stubble on his cheek. “I know that, Buck. But you don’t have to do everything by yourself. I’m here. Let me be here, okay?”
He held her gaze and slowly he nodded, leaning into her touch. “Okay,” he whispered, the word heavy with unspoken gratitude.
Her smile widened, and she leaned up to press a soft kiss on his lips. “Good,” she murmured against his mouth.
When she started to pull back, he caught her by the waist, his half smile returning as he lowered his voice to a playful murmur. “Still haven’t said if you’re acceptin’ my apology, though.”
She laughed softly, sliding her hands back up to his shoulders. “I guess I could be persuaded.”
“Persuaded, huh?” he murmured, leaning in until their foreheads brushed, his lips barely a breath away from hers. “Guess I better try harder.”
“That so?” she whispered, her voice trembling with amusement and anticipation.
“Mm-hmm,” he rumbled, sliding his hands up her slick back, pulling her closer under the warm spray. “Wouldn’t want to leave any doubt.” He captured her mouth and fisted her hair with one hand, while the other roamed down her back to squeeze the curve of her ass. He broke the kiss to trail open-mouthed kisses along her jawline, nipping and sucking at her sensitive skin. “Think I can convince you?” he breathed against her ear, as he started to grind his hardening cock against her stomach.
“Uhuh, for starters you were the one who booked this cabin for us to be alone. That adds some points.” She conceded, biting her lip.
“Let’s see if I can score some more”. With a sudden move, he spun her around, pinning her against the tile wall. The cool surface of the tiles against her nipples contrasted sharply with the heat of his body at her back, and she shivered.
She gasped, feeling his full awakened cock pressing against her, as the water drippled over their bodies. "Such a naughty lumberjack" she teased, arching her back slightly to grind against him. “To think you get all flustered and awkward on a daily basis, and then…”
“...and then I let loose like this” he growled, punctuating the words with a sharp thrust of his hips, grinding his thick length against her ass. He slid up a hand to flick his thumb over one of her nipples as he leaned in to nip at her neck. “Guess I've got two sides to me, sweetheart”. His free hand slid down to cup her pussy possessively, spreading her open and rubbing his fingers on her wet folds.
“Yes, you do" she moaned, tilting her head to give him better access to her neck. "I love both sides of you, Buck. The sweet, grumpy boyfriend, and the passionate lover". She rocked her hips into his touch, soaking his fingers with her slick. "Please” she whined, pressing her rear against his aching cock.
He groaned at her words and bit down gently on her neck. “Patience, darlin’. We’ve got all night” he rasped, even as his fingers continued their torturous dance, circling her clit before dipping inside her. As much as he wanted to bury himself balls-deep in her right now, he also craved the slow burn of building pleasure between them. He knew just how to tease her, how to make her squirm and beg without ever quite reaching the edge. “Look at you, so wet and needy already”, he praised, adding a third finger to stretch her further as he pumped them in and out of her tight heat. “Tell me what you want, sugar”
“Oh god, Bucky please...” she pleaded, riding his hand shamelessly, chasing her release, desperate for friction, for more penetration, for anything that get her closer to-
With a low chuckle, he withdrew his fingers, leaving her empty and aching. He turned off the shower and lifted her effortlessly, carrying her out of the bathroom and towards the creaky bed awaiting them. As he laid her down, a little rougher than intended, he stood at the foot of the mattress, raking over her splayed form with appreciation. A smug smile curved his lips as he watched her squirm restlessly, trying to close the distance between them. “Not yet, sweetheart” he crooned, his voice husky with promise. “First, I need to taste you.”
Her body thrummed with pent-up desire as she gazed up at him through heavy-lidded eyes. Her pussy clenched at his words, and a whimper escaped her parted lips. "Please, Bucky" she begged, spreading her thighs wider in silent invitation.
His gaze dropped to her exposed folds, and he swallowed hard, fighting the urge to plunge straight inside her. Instead, he crawled onto the bed and leaned down, dragging his tongue up her slit, to swirl it around her needy clit.
She cried out, and her back arched off the mattress as waves of pleasure crashed over her. She tangled her fingers in his hair, pulling him closer, desperate for more contact. He hummed in approval and repeated the motion, increasing the pressure and speed as he worked her higher. His fingers dug into her hips, holding her still as he feasted on her, alternating between gentle laps and firm sucks on her clit. Just when she teetered on the edge, he pulled back, leaving her panting and desperate. “So close, aren't we, darlin’? With a wicked grin, he positioned himself between her thighs, the broad head of his cock nudging her entrance. Ready to leap?”
“If this is your way to ask for apologies, let me tell you-“ she was interrupted by his thick length spearing into her in one smooth stroke, making her cry out.
He stilled for a moment, savoring the sensation, before slowly withdrawing until just the tip remained inside her. Then, with a powerful thrust, he buried himself to the hilt once more. This time, he set a relentless pace, sending shockwaves of pleasure coursing through her entire body. “Take it, sweetheart. Take everything I've got for you,” he groaned, as the headboard collided dangerously against the wooden wall again and again.
"Yes yes yes!!" she screamed as he struck her sweet spot repeatedly, digging her nails into his back as her inner muscles clenched wildly around his thickness. She was so close, the tension inside her building to a fever pitch, until finally, she came undone beneath him, milking his cock as he continued to thrust, prolonging her ecstasy. ”Bucky! Oh god, Bucky!”
“Gonna fill you up, darlin’”, he snarled, snapping his hips faster, going deeper as he neared the edge. “Fuck, you're squeezing me so good. So fucking tight and wet, just for me.” He praised, each word punctuated by a harsh slap of flesh against flesh. “Can't hold back anymore baby, I gotta-”. With a final, brutal thrust, he buried himself to the hilt and let go, emptying himself inside her willing pussy. For several moments, he remained frozen, savoring the sensation, until finally, with a soft groan he collapsed on top of her, his body heavy but comforting as his chest heaved against hers. His damp hair clung to his cheeks, as he buried his face in the crook of her neck.
After a long quiet stretch, she brushed her lips against his temple, “Hey.”
He grunted in response, low and muffled against her neck.
“How’s your arm?” she asked, brushing her fingers gently over his shoulder, breaking through the haze of contentment.
Bucky didn’t answer right away. He shifted slightly, lifting his head just enough to meet her eyes. His blue gaze was soft, still clouded with lingering post-coital bliss and a flicker of surprise there too, as if he hadn’t expected her to bring it up now.
“’S’ fine,” he said, “Doesn’t hurt as much anymore.”
“You sure? No lying to me, handsome.”
He huffed a quiet laugh, shifting his weight as he propped himself up on his forearms. “I’m sure,” he said, leaning down to kiss her forehead tenderly. “You’re good at distracting me.”
Her lips quirked into a small smile, and she shook her head. “Bucky,” she said softly, her tone turning serious. “I mean it. If it’s hurting, you need to let me know.”
He sighed, dropping his forehead against hers. “It’s alright,” he promised, his voice more earnest now. “Doesn’t hurt like it did earlier. Just... aches a little.”
“Alright,” she said, brushing her fingers soothingly along his arm. “Because maybe I’ve packed some oil for a sexy massage... just in case you needed it.”
Bucky froze for a beat, raising his brows slightly as he lifted his head to look at her. The surprise in his expression quickly gave way to a bloomed blush. “Oh, yeah?”
She grinned, “Figured it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared. You know, for emergencies.” she added teasingly.
“Emergencies,” he repeated.
She nodded, keeping her expression straight despite the mischievous sparkle in her eyes. “Of course. A good partner always thinks ahead. But I don’t see you very into it, maybe you don’t wanna-”
“I didn’t say that,” he mumbled promptly, rolling onto his back and pulling her with him so she sprawled across his chest. “I’d be a fool to turn down an offer like that.”
“Smart man,” she teased, leaning down to press a lingering kiss to his lips before slipping out of bed to rummage through her bag. “Stay put, honey.”
He ran a hand through his hair, muttering something under his breath that she couldn’t quite hear. When she turned back, bottle in hand, his gaze darted to it briefly before flicking back to her face, with a mix of amusement and lingering flustered disbelief. “Darlin’ you spoil me too much”
“Oh, and I plan to keep doing so. Now, roll over and relax.” She playfully ordered. When he complied, she straddled his waist. Her hands started moving expertly over his skin, spreading the warmed oil on his shoulders and upper back and the tension in his muscles slowly began to melt away as her thumbs pressed into the knots, working them loose with deliberate care.
He let out a low, contented groan, turning his head slightly to rest on his folded arms. “Really, you didn’t have to go all out like this,” he murmured, but even he faintly protested, his voice was thick with relaxation.
“Oh, I definitely did,” she teased lightly, moving her hands to his biceps, carefully avoiding his left elbow.
As her hands continued their soothing path, he silently thanked whatever twist of fate had brought her into his life.

“tell you what, sweetness; since you hate me so much,” dean drawls. “how about i let you run? see how far you get on your own.”
in the soft amber glow of the setting sun, your lover looks otherworldly from where he’s lying down besides you. the light falls over his body just like honey, casting him in the warm colours of a dying day. and just as you know that dean is a terrible man, you know, just as well, that he is equally as beautiful.
and maybe, you muse, that’s what terrifies you most of all.
“you don’t mean that,” you murmur, “you’re not going to let me go so easily, not after everything you’ve done to keep me.”
“yeah, baby?” he lazily drags his fingers down the curve of your spine, all light, and tantalisingly slow; revels at the way you shudder beneath his touch. "and what's that, huh?"
neither of you need to say it out loud, and the curl of his lips is answer enough. instinctively, you inch away from his hold, burrow deeper into the crinkling duvet draped over your limbs to put some distance between your bodies.
“fine,” you reluctantly decide to entertain whatever fantasy this is, lest he decides he was better off not giving you a choice in the first place. “let’s say i run. what are you going to do when you find me?”
“mm.” dean presses his palm flat against the small of your back and pulls you right back in towards him; close enough for you to feel when he smiles against your skin. “nothing that i haven’t done to you before, sugar.”
‘i just don’t understand.” you look up at him, searching his face for any glimpse of an answer. even if you wanted to believe in his benevolence, you know you’re not so foolish. you’re acutely aware of the fact that he’s playing you. “why would you let me do that?”
he regards you for a moment with some careful thought. “you’d look a gift horse in the mouth?” he lazily asks.
“from you?” you scoff. “no, i’d shoot the fucking thing.”
“stubborn, aren’t you?” he grins, and it's all sharp teeth, eager to bite.
“just know who i’m talking to is all,” you correct. palms laying flat against his chest, you push yourself away from him. narrow your eyes; ignoring the fact that you can feel the steady beats of heart beneath your hands. “what’s in this for you?”
“alright, sweetness.” he concedes. “call it curiosity. call it whatever you want, i don’t really care. i just wanna see how far you’ll let me go.” he hums, and it's a pleased little sound you feel roll all the way down the length of your spine.
you blink up at him. “you mean how far i’ll get?”
“nah, sugar.” dean laughs as he pulls you closer, once again rendering your best efforts to put some space between your bodies all for naught. his laughter is pleasant and warm, and you let yourself sink into the sound as he wraps his arms around you and cradles you even closer. “i mean exactly what i said.”
— seven months later
the hotel hallway stretches on endlessly both ahead and behind you, suspended in complete silence.
it’s disquieting, really, how quiet the nineteenth floor is for the few hours you spend weaving in and out of the messy rooms. pale yellow lights buzz overhead as you continue down the corridor, the sound of the room service trolley muffled by the patterned carpet underfoot; each step on top of tacky, little yellow stars.
you pause in front of room 728, another one of the identical doors that are lined up across the never-ending hallway like sentinels. the air smells faintly of cleaning chemicals and jasmine. need more air freshener, you think, inserting your masterkey into the lock. you need to get all of the rooms on this floor clean before the next check-in rush. got about an hour left in your shift.
you’re just about to turn the key when you hear it. it’s quiet, but unmistakable. a short, creaking sound, almost rhythmic. your eyes instinctively look down at the door hanger. in the hotel's standard colours and stamped with its logo, the card is angled outward from the knob. please service this room, it reads. undeniable, then, that you’re supposed to be here, yet, someone’s still clearly inside.
“just flip the damn sign,” you murmur under your breath, fingers already having pulled the key from the lock, turning back to your cleaning cart when—
a moan, from the other side of the door; drawn out, distinctively feminine.
it must have been the bed, you realise, only then. you’d heard the sound of the bed frame creaking before you heard her. at this, you straighten, your heartbeat picking up. casting a cautionary glance down the hallway, you’re strangely relieved, for the first time, to find it’s completely empty. the same as always. an undercurrent of something chemical. a faint whiff of jasmine.
turning back to the room 728’s door, you allow yourself to press your ear gently against the wood for just a moment. low grunts, the rustling of sheets. she’s clearly conscious about the noise. or maybe he is, you muse, because her voice is muffled, a hand clamped tight over her mouth in an attempt at quieting the moans that would otherwise spill past her lips freely.
the concept is incredibly foreign to you—dean always liked you loud.
you step back.
slip the key in your hands back inside a back pocket. dust off your uniform and allow yourself one last look at the door, one last opportunity to imagine who lies behind it, before you drag yourself deeper into the never ending corridor.
the sound of the room service trolley is muffled by the plush carpet underfoot, slightly worn in places where the footsteps of countless previous guests had passed, and yet no one ever lingered.
no one, it seems, except for you.
-
the money is shit, but beggars can’t be choosers.
that night, you sink into the sheets all too ready to sleep off the day’s hard work, with a weary mind and an aching body.
it didn't always feel this difficult, did it?
-
you're standing in front of 728 again.
the creaking noise continues, soft and rhythmic, too familiar now to ignore. you glance again at the door hanger—please service this room—still swaying slightly almost as if mocking you. every sign tells you it should be empty, but you know it's not.
that doesn't stop you from pressing the handle down and stepping inside.
the room smells of sweat and sex, the curtains still half-closed against the midday light. it takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the darkness within the room, and realise what it really is you're looking at when you do see them.
the stark white sheets are stained and sticky and falling off the edge of the mattress. there are clothes strewn haphazardly in a trail down the hallway and into the bedroom. a tangle of limbs on the unmade bed; both turning towards you the moment the door creaks closed behind you of its own volition.
you should leave. why are you still here?
the air thickens as their eyes lock onto you in unison—and the sight of them, completely blank and unfeeling pools of absolute absence, makes you shiver.
your breath catches somewhere between your throat and your spine when it dawns on you what—who—exactly you're staring at.
he has you folded into his favourite position; knees tucked right up to your chest and face tenderly held down against the soft pillows by his mocking, loving hands.
despite the unwelcome intrusion, you make no attempt to cover up; content to remain lying completely bare before yourself. under your own silent appraisal, your back arches into dean’s chest, pressed right up behind you, and there’s no hand draped over your mouth; no attempt made to silence you. you only exhale slowly, your lips parted into a pretty ‘o’.
a strange, unexpected heat pools in your body as you catch sight of your glossy, flushed cheeks between the gaps in dean’s fingers as they so kindly keep you in place; right where you're meant to be.
he’s teasing the sensitive bruises he’s sucked into your skin with the sharp points of his teeth, and in that long moment, before he slowly lifts his head from the crook of your neck and turns his face towards you, you feel a terrifying, trembling want overwhelm you.
nice and slow, very deliberately, you watch as dean’s expression shifts into one of amusement. his lips curl into a grin so sharp and dangerous it feels like a knife is being held to your throat.
it is not a kind smile. not a teasing one, either. something far more unnerving, instead.
—inviting.
-
you wake up in twisted sheets.
the bedspread, wrapped around your limbs. hair clinging to damp skin. your heart is racing in your chest, and it takes you a few minutes to catch your breath and shrug off the phantom arms you swear you can feel holding down your face.
it’s just a dream. he’s not really here. he can’t touch you.
the insistent buzzing of your morning alarm reminds you to get up, leaving you no time to ruminate. you allow yourself to slip back into your routine and let the motions consume you, not for the first time, without a thought.
you tug on your cleaning uniform, admiring the hotel’s logo intricately embroidered onto the white shirt as you take your time to do up the buttons. it takes you even longer to do the tie, fingers awkwardly fumbling with the material as you work it into a loop. in the end, you’re proud of your efforts; you look put together.
you look like you belong.
the low hum of the kettle fills the kitchen. the cupboard creaks open, and you reach for the same mug you always do. same brand of cheap, instant coffee. you turn back to the toaster when you realise something’s burning; the slice of bread blackens at the edges, but you don’t have the time to scrape it off. you bite into the solid crust as the door of your flat closes shut behind you, ushering you out into the busy streets.
the city greets you with open arms, like an old friend.
-
the alarm buzzes again, same time the next morning.
you sit up slowly in bed, your back quietly cracking. it’s a satisfying feeling, but it fades away all too quick when you swing your feet over the edge of the mattress and find the floor is very, very cold. you used to wake up wrapped in warm arms.
same shirt and tie as yesterday because it isn’t laundry day just yet.
the same shitty brand of instant coffee again, which tastes more like bitter water, really. luckily, you’ve almost burned through all of the sachets. the kettle takes a little longer today, or maybe you’re just growing impatient. at least the toast is slightly less burned.
the city is as loud as it always is. you think you’re beginning to understand it.
-
the next morning is different.
because instead of being packed into the regional train that leaves at six, you’re standing in front of the payphone like it’s a confessional booth. the metal is cool under your palm and the receiver far heavier than you remember it being as you run a finger along the edge of it.
your breath fogs in the glass of the phone booth’s enclosure as you spare a cursory glances over your shoulder. not because you think you need to—but just because this is what you always do. these days, it's become a natural part of your routine; like running, like hiding.
the coins you’re holding onto clink into the little slot, each one a small betrayal.
you dial from memory, even though you desperately wish you didn’t remember the number. before you can convince yourself there are worse ways to destroy yourself, the phone rings.
you should hang up. you really, really should. you need to get out of here and just head to work like you’re supposed to; lose yourself within the crowds of other commuters during rush hour, another nameless face in the big city you’ve chosen for your condemnation.
but you stay. creature of habit, of course you do.
you think you die a little death when the line clicks.
“sugar,” a familiar voice answers—amused, lazy, far too pleased with itself. “i was wondering how long it’d take for you to crack.”
the rain begins to dot your shoulder, angled past the shelter of the phone booth.
“i haven’t.” you say into the phone, and are you convincing yourself of this, or are you convincing him? “not yet, dean.”
“baby,” he purrs, “you sure about that?” your fingers dig into the receiver as he continues. “it’s been a while since you’ve been alone, hasn’t it? you know i'd never blame you even if you did, yeah?”
“i’m fine,” you insist. “i’m doing just fine without you. i have a job that makes me wear a uniform. i have a flat with a bathtub."
there’s a pause where you think you’ve won—then, your hopes are dashed. a low, taunting chuckle. you think he might be enjoying your unravelling a little too much, and the thought of it is almost enough to make you hang up.
—almost.
the rain outside picks up. a car passes by your booth in a blur, headlights slicing across the slick street. you can hear a train in the distance; your train, probably, but you don’t care nearly enough to move from where you stand.
“if you have all that, then why’d you call, sugar?” dean’s voice is like velvet and barbed wire, and the hair on the back of your neck stands on end when it dips an octave lower into something akin to a lover’s sweet murmur. “is it so hard to admit you miss me, baby?”
you say nothing, but your silence is an answer in and of itself.
dean hums, and it’s a pleased little sound that makes you shiver. “i had a feeling, ‘cause that’s one of the things about you i love most. you pretend to run, but you want to be found so bad it itches under your skin.”
the rain hits the booth harder now, a quiet chaos all around you, and dean’s voice is the only anchor. you close your eyes and you imagine him standing right behind you, fingers curling around the back of your neck.
“are you close?” you whisper.
he considers this. “do you want me to be?”
“i don’t know,” you lie. you can barely hear your own voice over the rain. “what would you do if you were?”
"oh," dean’s laughter is low and mocking. “you're smart enough to know the answer to that, sugar.”
you allow yourself to imagine what the telephone might feel like digging painfully into your back. how dean’s hands would feel, warm and invasive, dragged down the length of your spine and running along something far sweeter.
he’d make a mess of you, and he’d enjoy every second of it, and you think you might just let him.
“see, sugar?” barbed wire and velvet. beautiful. terrifying. “it doesn’t matter whether i’ve caught you or not. i’ve still got you exactly where i want you, darl'. so you can run as far as you like,"
shit—
"you're still all mine, yeah?"
you hang up.
the line goes dead.
and yet, he lingers. because even after you’re halfway down the street and soaked from the rain, you swear you can hear him laughing at you over the phone. it’s distorted, derisive and, above all, to your horror, utterly fucking delighted.
-
the alarm rings again. you turn it off without looking.
you lie in bed for a while afterwards, staring at the ceiling and wondering how long you have left until dean finally finds you.
the kitchen is very quiet, save for the whistle of the kettle. cheap coffee again, but no toast this time. the toaster might be broken, you think. you don't know if it'll be worth getting a new one. you might not be here for much longer.
it’s laundry day and you only remember this when you realise your shirt is wrinkled and you really should have ironed it last night—you make do by smoothing over the creases half-heartedly. your tie is crooked and it stays that way because if you take the time to fix it, you’re going to be late again and you can't afford that after yesterday.
you don’t have any memory of locking the door behind you but you’re sure you must have; it’s routine, after all.
when you step out onto the streets that day, the city doesn't greet you so much as it consumes you.
-
that night, after work, you don't go home.
instead, you decide that you're going to treat yourself. a nice cup of overpriced coffee, or maybe because it’s raining again, a hot chocolate would be nice too.
something to warm you up from the inside out is all you’re really asking for.
and even though it’s pitch black outside, you’re not really scared of the dark, because you already know exactly what’s waiting for you inside of it.
-
the next morning, the hotel lobby is as busy as it always is. and, as per your best efforts, immaculately clean.
women wearing wide-brimmed hats are followed by men lugging heavy suitcases with stickers of faraway cities slapped on. younger children run around the open space gleefully, and older ones exasperatedly chase after them. slow, soft jazz plays inside the echoing space, mellifluous instrumentals accompanied by the constant, excited murmur of the hotel’s patrons, all of which filter in through the beautiful revolving doors, which never seem to stop.
you push the room service cart out of the elevator, which slides shut behind you and forces you out into the lobby’s open space. you hear the sound of a bell from somewhere far away. that familiar tinkle that signals a guest is waiting at the service desk.
it’s not your job; never has been.
though when the ringing grows more insistent, almost mocking, it’s almost instinctual to glance back over your shoulder, eyes absently flitting to the patron responsible just out of a natural curiosity and nothing more and—
your breath catches. the world tilts sideways.
dean; leather jacket, heavy-duty boots, hat hung low enough to cast a shadow over his eyes and staring right back at you. he waves at you, like an old friend.
you have about a fraction of a second to register the sight of him, so close to you, before he’s reaching back into his pocket—
there’s a buzzing in your head, and it feels like someone’s wrapped you up in bubble wrap.
—before he’s pulled out a gun.
you watch, unable to speak, as he raises his arm.
aims the pistol at the grand chandelier overhead.
what happens next happens very slowly, like going through the pages of a flip book. one by one by one, the scene shifting just enough for you to register—
to catch a glimpse of his lips splitting into a deranged grin. to watch as he pulls the trigger.
you don’t hear the shot.
you see, instead, the magnificent symbol of opulence as it comes crashing down right over the heads of the hotel guests. you make out, just barely, the sound of glass shattering and breaking into millions of sharp, dangerous shards, which burrow into soft, innocent skin.
you meet his eyes over the destruction. he’s saying something, but you can’t really hear him over all of the screaming, and, what is he even—?
run, he mouths with a grin.
there are no targets to dean's destruction. never really have been. you know this better than most, because you survived it once before. now, there is only whoever is unfortunate enough to find themselves in his way.
dean turns the gun to the receptionist, and it’s the lovely woman who greets you every morning; the two of you frequently discuss the weather. she can’t be any older than twenty-five, and yet she’s brave enough to have her pretty hands curled around the corded phone, dialing emergency services and defiantly holding his impassive gaze.
he doesn’t even wait for the line to connect when he shoots.
you don’t need to be told twice.
you bolt.
the lobby erupts into horrified screams of bloody fucking murder, and all of the echoes follow you right down the winding hallway, sounding, the further you run, like a familiar, delighted laughter.
-
the kitchen is empty. the stove is still on, a low flame flickering beneath abandoned pans. something sizzles on their surfaces, burning, and it smells like smoke.
none of the cooks are anywhere to be seen, but they’d managed, even in their haste; to remember to lock the egress door from the outside.
you can hear everything from here, but you don’t dare to cover your ears; no, how could you? this is all your fault, after all. this is what you wanted.
at the very least, you owe it to them all to listen.

you hear him before you see him, this time.
you’re not stupid enough to think this gives you any advantage over him. if you’ve heard him come closer, it’s only because he’s wanted you to know it. when the kitchen door swings open, you instinctively retreat away from him, your back finally meeting the kitchen counter.
his pupils are dilated, so that his eyes are almost completely enveloped by the black. he chews on his lip as he considers you, cornered in the kitchen, while he merely stands in the doorframe; blocking your only way out of here. you watch, stunned, as he surveys the rest of the kitchen for any strays, before tucking away his gun, very pointedly still in reach.
a warning, then, not to scream.
he’s always liked you a little loud; but you suppose this is the one exception to that rule. you might have laughed if you weren’t so—
fuck.
one of your shaking hands fumbles to pull open the drawer, digging frantically through the silver cutlery until your trembling fingers finally land on exactly what you’re searching for; curl around the heavy hilt of a steak knife.
“dean,” you breathe.
“hi, sweetness.” dean returns. patiently holds out a hand. “you wanna give me what you’re holding onto there?”
the jagged blade gleams beneath the light. floorboards protesting loudly beneath the weight of his heavy boots with every step he takes, closer and closer, until you can feel all of him—the hard ridges of his lumbering frame a hair's breadth away from your own body. quivering lips and restless fingers; reflexively tightening around the weapon in your hands—
“nah,” he clicks his tongue chidingly, but the amused lilt to his voice betrays him. “none of that, sugar.”
you say nothing, and he takes the opportunity to reach out of his own accord, rough skin of the palm of his hands curling around your own. his touch is so gentle, even when he brandishes the knife in your hold from you by the jagged edges of the sharp blade. older callouses split open anew; slicing through to warm blood that stains you, as much as it does him.
“how—” your voice breaks. you try again, searching his face for an answer to your question before you’ve even asked, “how did you find me?”
he carelessly tosses the knife to the floor, where it lands behind him with a resounding clamber that strips you of your sad attempt at defence; leaving you vulnerable before him. you wonder, for a moment, why you’d even really reached for it in the first place.
dean’s answer is sharp and cutting, just like the smile that slowly spreads across his lips. “because you wanted me to.”
“what–what makes you think that?”
“you left me a lovely little trail of breadcrumbs, sweetness. hard to miss, wouldn’t you agree?”
yes, you think, i would.
“so i cut right through the rest of ‘em to get to you. isn’t that what you wanted?” he asks the question with a tone that implies he’s already aware of the answer.
“you’re asking me if i wanted you to hurt innocent people?”
“nah, baby.” he tilts his head to the side. “i’m askin’ you if you’re satisfied now. i know you like being reminded of how far i’d go for you. i was curious to see just this one time, even i let you run it, how far would you let me go?”
“and,” you echo. “are you satisfied?”
“ha!” his teeth are sharp, and you think he might like to bite you right now. you can’t look away from him. “very much so, sugar.”
“what—” a small part of you is relieved. another is terrified. you’re just not sure what the root of that fear is, anymore. dean takes a long, languid inhale, breathing you in and taking his sweet time with it, too. “what happens now?”
“you tell me how much you missed me, darlin’.” he savours the sense of you; so warm and alive and real right before him—exhales nice and low as he pulls you by your arm, still slick with his blood, so that you’re pressed right up against him. his voice drops an octave lower. “tell me how much you hated yourself for it, too.’
can you hate yourself for something you never chose to accept?
“i thought about coming to look for you first,” you admit. “on the lonelier nights.”
“oh, yeah?” his lips brush over yours just barely in the promising, torturous facsimile of a lover’s kiss at long last. “and why’s that, sugar?”
“i don’t know,” you lie.
“nah, baby. i think you know the answer to that just as well as i do.”
you think back to those lonely mornings. the monotonous humdrum of your insipid routine. waking up to a cold bed and a cruel city. staring at yourself in the mirror and barely recognising the person looking back at you. burnt toast. cheap instant coffee. no one to hold you, no one who cared.
“without you,” you confess quietly, barely recognising the sound of your own voice, “i don’t belong anywhere. i don’t even know who i am.”
look at you, so willing for your own ruination. it can’t be easy to remain so resolute in your own repression, and yet needy enough to let him in—the front door, forever unlocked, even when he’d given you the chance to run and hide and turn the key.
you must know it, now, too, because you’re shaking.
—both of you know it has nothing to do with fear.
“well, darlin’,” his fingers gently curl around the nape of your neck as you allow yourself to fall into him even further. “i’ve got you now, yeah? you’re just horrible at hiding from me, aren’t ‘ya?”
the always have been goes unsaid.
“what’re you gonna do,” you whisper against him, “now that you’ve finally found me?”
dean considers the question, the thoughtfulness accompanied by lazy kisses that trail down the side of your neck, to the hollow of your throat. "mm."
you look down at him through sweeping lashes; wondering quietly why it’s taken him so long to find you—and because he sees all of this for the silent invitation the two of you know it is meant to be, the answer is an easy acceptance.
“to you, sugar?” dean hums, and it’s a pleased little sound you feel roll all the way down the curve of your spine. you shiver when you feel him smile against your jaw, “nothing you don’t already want me to do.”
— epilogue
it’s late.
late enough that conversation within the local late night coffee shop’s thinned to murmurs and the last baristas working the closing shift have already started to wipe down the counters and pack away what hasn’t sold.
outside, the city still lies awake—buses hissing and taxis slamming their horns, as bustling crowds of pedestrians spill out onto the busy roads even when the crossing lights blink an angry red—but in here, it's quiet. a hush in the air, which smells faintly of warm coffee. the clatter and hiss of the steam wand has gone silent.
you tap your fingers against the counter where the last open register blinks softly. the barista taps on the register’s screen, lips forming a polite, empty smile.
“and what name is that order under?”
“sugar.”
the barista looks up. “sugar?” he echoes.
“it’s just my nickname,” you explain kindly.
“sure, sorry about that. that’ll be just a few minutes.” his voice doesn’t quite echo, but it hangs in the air a moment longer than it needs to. the barista, young and itching to get home, moves with all the swiftness of someone who’s grown very accustomed to a routine; reaching for the tall paper cup, the cocoa tin, the worn metal pitcher, all when he needs to.
the cafe is nearly empty—two students at a far table speaking in hushed tones over a glowing laptop, and a woman by the window sketching in a notebook, between periodic sips of her drink. the music’s already been turned off.
as the milk warms, you watch the raindrops hit the window looking out into the city.
beyond the pane, the city blurs beneath a dreary pall of grey—traffic lights glowing like small embers through the mist, as people scurry down the sidewalk under umbrellas, their outlines softened by the rain. the rhythm of the droplets is almost meditative, serving as a quiet percussion to the stillness inside.
the barista places the hot chocolate onto the counter, and you smile. “thank you.”
“no worries,” you reach for a napkin as he returns your smile, more genuine this time. “have a nice night.”
“i will.”
you take the cup in both hands, and hold onto the warmth as you step outside. the bell overhead tinkles merrily on your way out.
the rain’s eased into more of a soft drizzle now, and you have no problem sitting on a bench in a nearby park underneath the shade of dozens of grand, towering trees. even a city as lonely as this can be beautiful sometimes. even if the night sky is far too polluted to see any stars, it’s comforting enough to know, at least, that they remain regardless of whether you bear witness to them.
the drink is sweet and rich and a welcome reprieve from the cheap instant coffee you’ve been making for yourself every morning. it’s nice to savour it and let the hot chocolate warm you up from the inside out, as you observe the dozens of strangers passing by; out, even though it nears three in the morning.
when you’re finished with your drink, you simply rise from the bench, dust off your clothes, and set off onto your way home.
you don’t look back even once.
why would you?
you're not scared of the dark. you know exactly what's waiting for you.
rain drizzles down in thin, whispering lines now, slicking the pavement into mirrors yet barely even there. above, the streetlights hum softly, halos blurring in the mist.
moments pass.
then, a man turns the corner.
he’s got a hat hung low over his eyes. the rain slides off his black leather jacket. his heavy boots make a quiet splash in puddles across the pavement.
he slows in his steps as he passes by the lone bench sitting beneath the shade of the park’s towering trees. he comes to a stop, crouches down beside it.
on the seat, a folded napkin sits, weighed down by a paper coffee cup. he turns the cup over in his hands first, finds, in fresh sharpie, the word sugar scrawled across the side.
oh, sweetness.
he picks up the napkin next, unfolding it with two fingers. it’s unused, and unblemished, save for a single sentence written in the middle of it in black ink in familiar handwriting he’d recognise anywhere.
a number, and then a street name.
he reads it twice.
an address, baby?
then a slow smile slowly spreads across his lips; sharp and cutting.
ohh, you’re spoiling me, sugar.
he folds the napkin in exactly the same way that you had, careful not to create any new creases, before he tucks the darling thing away in his pocket for safekeeping.
the rain grows more insistent at this, pattering against the sidewalk in hurried little beats. it drums on awnings and trash lids, slips down the backs of street signs, trails down his jacket. even the fog spills in from the alleys like a slow tide, softening the edges of the buildings all around him, and yet all of it changes nothing.
the city stretches out in every direction, vast and uncaring, its rhythm unchanged by this invitation of yours.
he wonders what you're waiting for him to do to you when he finds you.
he stands up and stretches. continues down the path. the moment the man turns the corner, he vanishes into the dark one final time.
the only difference is that this time, he leaves remnants of his little visit behind, and takes a little something along with him; so that it’s impossibly to deny he was never really there—a quiet echo of something unfinished.
a threat, perhaps. or a promise, if you liked.
—something inevitable all the same.

like koolaid i’m finna jam it in her-chris sturniolo
chris thinks you look really good in the space camp x koolaid photoshoot, and he cant wait until you get home…
warnings: smut, unprotected p n v, mdni, slight choking maybe?, semi public sex, hate sex, fwb, suggestive language, intended lowercase
“fuck, you look amazing y/n!” is all you heard nick say repetitively over the last hour. you were not only a space camp model, but one of nicks best friends.
you had been in the studio for hours on end, posing with the lip balms, trying to get the perfect pictures. even though you were there for a long time though, nick always made it a fun place to be.
but with nick, came his brothers.
you didn’t have any problems with matt. he was sweet and kind, he was funny, and he was fun to be around. and then there was chris.
you couldnt stand chris. you hated him, actually. he was just so annoying. he was so rude all the time, always disrespectful to everyone. and he was just chris.
whenever you had photo shoots with space camp, you hoped matt was the only brother that came along. anybody but chris.
but of course, he showed up to this one.
he was watching you the whole time, his unwavering stare penetrating you like a knife. anytime you looked over to the triplets, his eyes were already on you.
you struck your last pose, hearing the camera click off and seeing the lights dim down let you know it was the end of the photoshoot.
you walked off of set, making a beeline to nick.
“you were so good y/n!” nick says, taking a drink of dr. pepper while going through the camera footage.
“thank you nick!” you say, wondering off to a table that appeared to have food on it.
you were pouring yourself a cup of water when you felt a large hand in your shoulder. you felt a presence over you that you had never felt before.
“you looked nice out there.” the person whispered.
you turn around only to see chris, your past thoughts disappearing at the sight of him.
“i know.” you say, brushing off his compliment.
“wow, not even a thank you? where’s your manners?” chris scoffs, taking a swig of pepsi while death staring you.
“maybe you should stop staring at people and mind your own manners.” you bite back, glaring at him.
“oh so you wanna play that game, huh?” chris says, placing a hand on your arm, preventing you from walking away.
you stare up at him, unable to speak. you hate him, you really do, but something about him right now is different. the veins in his hands, the piercing blue eyes, the slight stubble on his sharp jawline, it’s making you feel a different way towards him.
“i thought you said it was rude to stare.” he smirks, making you snap right back into reality.
“oh, um i-”
“follow me.” he says, placing a finger on your lips to shush you.
he leads you into nicks office room, overflowing with papers and different packages. chris clears a little spot near nicks chair and instructs you to lock the door behind you two.
he pushes you against a free wall, smashing his lips against yours. the kiss is full of passion and hate. you despise chris, but yet, you need him so badly.
his lips taste like cherry koolaid, pairing along perfectly with yours that taste like grape koolaid. his soft lips grasped for yours, desperately trying to suck you in.
you subconsciously grind your core against his growing erection, your body practically gravitating towards his.
“such a needy whore, aren’t you?” chris scolds.
“please chris, i-i need you.” you whimper desperately.
“you’ve been such a fucking brat all day, your lucky if i even lay a finger on you.”
that’s the last thing you heard before you felt the fabric of your shirt rip, the shreds of clothing flailing around the room, landing on the floor.
chris yanked down your pants next, following with his own. the tent in his boxers was near impossible to miss, but the dark wet patch in your white panties was even more noticeable.
chris slides your underwear to the side, slowly running his finger up and down your slit with as little pressure as possible. he takes extra time on your clit, creating small little circles on it.
“c-chris, please, i need more-”
he shoves his now wet fingers in your mouth, muffling the noises escaping you.
“i’ll give you more when i want to give you more, sweetheart.”
chris slowly pulls down the band of his boxers, letting his dick spring free against his stomach. his tip was bright red, throbbing with desire.
he runs the tip slowly over your entrance, mimicking his fingers with the wag he moves his dick. he continues to tease you, when you feel him thrust into you with a ton of force.
it feels like you were split in half, unable to do anything but groan from the pleasure of chris fucking you senseless.
“oh, shit chris, fuck-” you moan.
“use your words baby.” chris grunts, not slowing down his pace at all whatsoever.
“you’re just so fucking deep, i-”
chris continues fucking you against the wall, ruthlessly slamming into you at an unimaginable pace. you cant feel anything right now other than chris stretching you out mercilessly.
his tip is pecking your cervix with each thrust, and you can already feel the dull bruising begin.
chris is hitting you in just the right place, your gummy walls clenching around him like a lifeline.
“chris, im gonna-”
“you’re gonna what, sweetheart?”
“i’m gonna come!” you cry out.
you feel the tight knot in your stomach from as quickly as it releases, your sticky juices coating chris’ dick. his thrusts become more frantic as he nears his release.
you feel warm ropes of his cum coat your insides, painting your walls white.
“y’ know, you looked good as fuck out there but you look even better like this.”
“fuck you chris.”

you are sick.
not figuratively —you really are. you’ve caught the flu, a nasty cold, or whatever virus that's left you bedridden, feverish, for so many hours that they feel like eternity.
when it started, you thought you were sneezing so frequently because you were allergic to something, since spring had just begun. however, it only got worse as the week went on, until you ended up in the state you’re in now.
body sprawled on the futon on the floor —your arm is folded in a weird way, your legs half under half out of the blanket—, it’s the only position you’ve found that lets you be even a little comfortable and breathe without choking every two minutes. your skin is paler than usual, except for your face, flushed pink and covered in a thin sweat layer.
you’re on the edge of delirium.
you should have seen this coming. no, you actually did see it coming, but you had such a busy week —working extra hours at the restaurant at nights, repainting the facade of the establishment after some vandals had graffitied the wall, assisting all your classes and doing all your homework—, you'd had no time for worrying about getting sick or getting medicine.
besides, taking into account that your daily life is on the other side of the city —you live in your apartment, if it can even be called like that, only because the rent is affordable for you—, the time you spend just going to school and work and coming back home takes a considerable part of your day.
plus, at the start of this week, your next door neighbor had gotten sick too —and every free time of your days had been spent on taking care of sakura.
you didn’t even think about the possibility of him giving you the flu until you woke up this morning. work was already hard yesterday —even your boss had sent you home before your shift ended, since he could see how tired you looked—, and you hadn't slept more than two full hours, so all you were able do in the morning was send a text to your coworkers to ask for someone to cover your shift today and fall asleep again.
four hours later of feverish dreams and a very uncomfortable mix of heat and cold going throughout your whole body, you are so thirsty and hungry you could eat a whole menu from the restaurant you work in. however, getting up seems almost impossible in the state you are in, so you let yourself lay under the blanket a while more.
you’re about to fall asleep again, ignoring the cries for help of your stomach, when you hear the door of your apartment open.
there’s no greeting, no warning, no announcement about who just entered without permission. but only a few people have a key to your place, so the list of suspects is short —still, of all the possible people, you definitely didn’t expect to see sakura haruka standing in the cramped little space that makes up your room.
“i brought you something.” is all he says before sitting cross-legged on the floor beside you, placing a plastic bag full of things in his lap and beginning to pull things out one by one.
sakura is your next-door neighbor. he moved to the apartment beside yours at the beginning of the school year, just as alone in his place as you were in yours. at first, he came off as cold —maybe even a little rude— but it didn’t take long for you to realize he was just shy, especially around people who offered help without expecting anything in return.
your first interaction had been on an especially cold evening during his first week living there. you had heard him through the wall, cursing softly and clearly frustrated —mumbling something about not figuring out how to get the hot water working. you were pretty sure he even punched the wall out of frustration after his third cold shower.
so you showed up at his door, holding a slice of leftover cake from the restaurant as a welcome gift and offering your help —partly because you’re a decent person, but mostly because you were worried the building might not survive more than a couple more punches.
“i can’t cook anything for you,” he's saying now. a few months have passed since you met “but i brought instant soup. i didn’t know what flavor you liked, so i grabbed one of each. just in case.”
he spreads the contents of the bag on the floor —six different packs of soup, a few bottles of water and sugary drinks, cold compresses for the fever, some medicine, vitamins, and a single flower.
you manage a weak smile.
“thank you” your voice is thick with congestion. it requires you making a great effort to extend your arm, and point to the end of the row of things on the floor “i get the food, the clothes and the pills. what’s the flower for, though?”
you are too exhausted to lift your head and look at him, but you’re sure he’s blushing when he answers.
“umemiya told me to give it to you. said it would help you feel better.”
he’s clearly flustered —you can hear it in his voice— and probably grateful you can’t see how red his face is right now.
you chuckle softly.
“it does.” you say “it’s really pretty. thank you, sakura.”
and the poor guy is now blushing even harder.
he found out you were sick this morning. usually, he would hear your door every morning before he left for school —you always left earlier than him, since your classes and your job are both on the other side of the city. but today, there was only silence. no sound of the coffee machine, no rustling clothes, no soft curses about running late.
he might’ve ignored it, but he remembered you telling him how busy this week would be, how you couldn’t afford to miss classes with exams just around the corner. you had said all that while taking care of him when he was sick —thinking he was asleep. but he heard every word.
so when he saw light under your door and knocked with no response, he panicked. he didn’t care about being late to class, no one in furin would really care. so he grabbed the emergency key you’d given him just in case and let himself in.
the apartment was dark, except for the faint glow coming from under the door of your bedroom. you didn’t answer when he called your name —quietly, not wanting to startle you— so he stepped inside.
then he saw you
you were huddled under the blanket, your phone still in your hand like you’d fallen asleep waiting for a message or a call. your limbs stretched out across the futon, half uncovered, as if the heat was unbearable —but you were shivering like you were freezing.
it was more than obvious you were sick, but he didn’t want to wake you. you looked anything but peaceful, but you also looked exhausted, and he knew how hard your week had been. so he just stood there for a moment —then quietly stepped back out.
later, across town at furin, sakura was so distracted thinking about you, he tripped over suo twice during patrols.
“what’s bothering you, sakura?” suo asked, catching his arm before he could fall again. “you look worried.”
the two-colored-hair guy stood up straight, freeing himself from his friend's grasp —again, and mumbled a "thank you", avoiding his gaze.
“it’s nothing. just...” he’d told them about you before, but mentioning you in front of his classmates still made him go red. “yn’s sick, and i want to help her”
suo raised a brow.
"oh, i see." he said, a grin growing on his face.
“i mean, because she helped me when i was sick. and i want to return her the favor, i owe her.” sakura added quickly, now flustered.
it’s tsugeura who intervened then.
"yn? the neighbor you're always talking about?”
“i don't always talk about her!" sakura protested.
right then, as if summoned by some invisible signal, nirei, kiryu, and the others turned around, stopping dead.
"she's sick? seriously?" nirei asked, already pulling out his phone like he was about to write down a shopping list.
overwhelmed, sakura could only nod.
"i want to bring her something to help her feel better."
so, when returning to the class with the rest of his classmates, sakura found himself stuck in the middle of an impromptu meeting, surrounded by half his class in a discussion about what to bring you to feel better.
“we should buy some medicines and vitamins for her!” nirei was saying, his concern genuine.
he didn’t even know you personally—none of them did. but since their grade captain seemed completely smitten for you, they were all too happy to help out on his behalf.
“she was shivering but looked flushed?” suo asked after hearing sakura’s description of how he had found you “sounds like a fever. we should get some cold compresses, and medicine too”
“eating is important too, in case she wakes up hungry” kiryu added “soup could be good. and a drink she likes, sugary for her to regain strength.”
the conversation spiraled for a while, everyone adding something new they should bring to their grand captain’s neighbor —who was, definitely, not as excited as them.
it was not only the worry for your wellbeing now, it was a tight, bitter feeling in his stomach. if he had to define the sensation, he would have catalogued it as very uncomfortable and very weird.
because he didn’t like the idea of his classmates —his friends, he reminded himself— taking care of you, or buying things for you, at all. he knew they were just trying to help him, but going to your apartment and looking after you personally?
no. he didn’t want that.
first of all, sakura didn’t want them to meet you at all. yes, he’d told them about you several times —when you helped him with the hot water of the shower, the times you’ve brought him leftover desserts from your restaurant because you know he likes them, or when you went to his house, despite having a very busy day and being tired, to make sure his fever was going down and that he was eating properly.
sakura never let on how much you meant to him —but you’re precisely that: part of his life, not theirs. and maybe it wasn’t fair, but he didn’t want to share you.
second of all, he didn’t want you to meet them either. he would never say it out loud, but the thought terrified him —that you’d fall for suo’s kindness, nirei’s soft smile or kiryu’s charm; that you’d just realize that everyone has something better than him.
more than anything, he just wanted to stay your favorite.
was that selfish?
“i will do it.” he said, then, cutting off the class' whole conversation “i’ll buy everything you said, and go take care of her myself. after all, it’s me who gave this virus to her.” all the eyes moved to him in this new silence. then he realized he might had appeared ungrateful, so he added —“and, um. thank you all. for your help.”
none of his classmates answered, though. he felt a little intimidated by the silence.
suo was grinning, kiryu had raised an eyebrow, and tsugeura was the one who asked out loud what everyone was thinking —“¿what do you mean you gave the virus to her?”
sakura found himself out of words for a few seconds.
“well, she took care of me when i was sick, too.” he finally said, looking away “i told her it wasn’t necessary, but she insisted on staying the night with me in case my fever raised while asleep. i think she got it then."
“oh. so she stayed the night at yours?”
suo laughed. tsugeura asked again.
“and how close were you two, for her to get your sickness too?”
sakura realized then what they were implying. his cheeks got tinted by a pale shade of pink when he shook his head, panicked.
“no! no, it’s nothing like that. she just… she helped me, that’s all. i didn’t event want her to, my plan was to wait until i felt better, but she insisted on staying…”
but there was no turning back now. during the rest of the morning, the only thing sakura received was a constant teasing from his classmates —it was so bad, that at the end of the school day, before going back home, umemiya reached him to give him a flower for his sick girlfriend, who would definitely appreciate it, and it would make her feel better.
so here he is now, telling you how all his classmates —all his friends— helped him to choose what he had to bring for you, his cheeks and nose slightly flushed and his hand absentmindedly on the back of his neck.
and, even after the soup and emptying a whole bottle of water, your forehead is still hot and the fever remains blurring your thoughts. so, now looking him at his eyes —thinking how cute he looks when he isn’t able to hold your gaze— you don’t rethink it when straightly saying out loud:
“you look so pretty when you blush.”
and you know you’ve messed him up, because he’s blushing even harder, and he stutters when telling you about his journey on the search of the best soup flavor.
you can't but let slip a low giggle when he finishes his story.
“thank you so much for coming, sakura.” you thank him, knowing well he isn’t able to say anything right now —you've never seen anyone get so timid after a compliment “i mean it.”
still shy, he lowers his head and looks at his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
“it’s nothing, really. i’m just returning you the favor, for helping me when i was sick.”
you both know that’s not true at all, but none of you mentions it. you play along, then —“still. im glad you’re taking care of me, even if it’s just because you feel you owe me.”
sakura waits a few seconds before answering this one. he has stopped playing with his shirt, and is now distracted folding the clothes he used as cold compresses.
he mumbles, almost unintelligibly, his reply.
“i’m taking care of you because i do care about you.”
you giggle at his cheeks becoming even redder after his word.
“what did you say? i think i didn’t hear you, sorry.” you ask, teasing him a little.
there's a moment of silence after that—not awkward, but warm, lingering.
sakura has gone quiet again. you’re both still, the soft hum of your room’s air-conditioning the only sound between you. his gaze flickers to yours for a second, then drops to his hands again. you can see his fingers fidget with the hem of his shirt again, then still, as if trying to gather courage.
the air feels different now —not fever-warm, but tender.
to your surprise, he suddenly raises his head, and fixes his gaze on yours —grey and gold eyes shining under the warm light of your room. looks like he's lost all shyness, even if only for a moment.
“i said i do care about you. not only for a favor.” sakura repeats, now louder. and right after, all the courage he gathered seems to disappear from his body, because he, again, looks away “and i want you to feel better… so that you can, uh, come with and try that omurice im telling you about all the time."
you raise a brow. he does the same, but he looks funny, because his gaze is on the door of the closet —it looks like he's trying to tease your clothes, and not you.
“unless you don’t wanna come, of course, but i assure you you’d be missing the opportunity of a lifetime.” he adds.
a soft chuckle leaves your lips, and you can’t help it —mirroring his, your cheeks turn a pale shade of pink that has nothing to do with the fever that finally starts disappearing.
since he opened your window, the birds’ whistling fill the room as background noise, sun rays tickling your exposed skin —you have long forgotten the blanket, due to the heat of the apartment, on a corner of your room.
you’re sitting on the futon now, hands playing with the only compress he didn’t yet fold. you are not really sure of how, or when, has the atmosphere become so intimate, but you feel the need to whisper the next time you talk.
“yeah, sakura.” you say, eyes lingered on his black and white down eyelashes. suddenly, you feel too flustered to look at him in the eyes.
it's an answer to the question he hasn't yet asked.
“yeah, what?” he asks, looking at you again. “you don’t wanna come?”
you shake your head, then smile sweetly.
“yeah, i would be missing the opportunity of a lifetime if i didn’t try that omurice you tell about all the time, going on a date with you.”
sakura doesn't respond immediately.
in fact, you’re pretty sure you just broke him —he just stares at you, stunned, as if unsure if whether you just said was real or part of your fever's delirium. but then, very slowly, he smiles.
it's small, shy, but completely sincere. and for a second, it feels as if the warmth in your face isn't from the fever anymore—but from him, and the way he looks at you like you are his opportunity of a lifetime.
you both stay quiet for a while, wrapped in warmth, in sunlight, in something that feels a lot like a beginning. small smiles in both your faces, as if sharing a secret no one but you know about.
you can’t help but stare.
he looks so pretty —cheeks tinted pink, two colored hair disheveled, pressed reddish lips due to bashfulness, the collar of his white plain shirt revealing part of his collarbones.
you had thought he was handsome, the first time you saw him, carrying boxes into his new apartment. then you discovered he was more on the cute side, after getting to know him and learning how sweet he is —even despite his tsundere personality.
as if refuting your trail of thoughts, he breaks the eye contact and you let out a sincere, soft giggle.
“cute.” you say, a smirk on your face.
“shut up.” his face is, again, all red under the black and white frame of his hair. he mumbles “you’re cuter.”
then he gets up, still avoiding your gaze —that follows him, entertained, as he picks up the empty bowl of soup and carries it to the kitchen. after leaving it on the sink, he takes the medicine and a bottle of water, and passes them to you.
“come on, now, take your meds,” your expression says it everything, disgust clear on your face when he brings the pill to you. he raises both brows, and now it’s his turn to smirk “or, i will not be able to take you on that date you talk about.”
you groan as a complain, but still take the pill he’s offering you, and swallow it with a long sip of water, obediently.
as he walks back toward the kitchen, you can’t help but smile softly.
“if this is how you’re going to take care of me, i might have to get sick more often.”
sakura chuckles, and doesn't hesitate before replying —his voice coming lightly from behind the kitchen door, where you can’t see his face.
“are you sure about that?” he calls back “that’s a shame, ‘cause my mom always said sick people couldn’t get kisses —and i’m not really the type to go against her advice.”
you roll your eyes, grinning, with no comeback on the tip of your tongue at all. he wins this one, surprisingly.
you never thought you’d end up falling for the shy kitty-looking boy next door —but your heart’s not exactly complaining.

masterlist.
