I came up with maybe not a theory but more of just an observation that the east blue 5 seem to parallel the 5 love languages and it's kinda reframed all of their actions and behaviours towards each other so much for me on my watchthrough. Got brainworms from that one oda interview where he said zoro doesn't like verbally expressing gratitude and prefers to show appreciation through actions and it got me thinking

The 5 languages:

Physical touch - Luffy

Acts of service - Zoro

Quality time - Usopp

Receiving / giving gifts - Nami

Words of affirmation - Sanji

Funnily enough in OPLA we definitely see a lot of physical touch Luffy. He's always playfully punching or hugging crewmates, despite having known the crew for such a short time he's just instantly clingy and physically present around them in east blue.

Zoro is very much an actions person. He's a little emotionally constipated and doesn't verbalise his feelings very much, in fact that seems like the last thing he wants to do, but he will always be looking out for any member of the crew silently, and is almost always the first to spring into action when it's called for. He shows he cares through acts of service and being there for his captain and crew.

Usopps language being quality time is shown pretty well in syrup village with his relationship with Kaya. Kaya is a girl who has everything she could wish for financially, but ussop provides her with a much needed friend, someone to support her and just physically be present and talk to her. He risks so much just to make her smile because being there for his friends is such a crucial and important thing for him.

Nami's love language being giving/recieving gifts means so much to me because it is so often seen as the most shallow of the love languages and I have seen so many poor analysis and digs at Nami's character, reducing her to just being greedy and money hungry. Did they watch Arlong park with their eyes closed??? For Nami, gold or money is a means for her to provide for the people she cares about, to ensure their financial stability and freedom and to keep her crewmates fed and afloat. She spent so long scorned and alone and (believed she was) hated because she created this money hungry persona to save her village and to best Arlong. Every piece of gold she bled to get was meant for that end goal. Nami deserves the financial freedom and gold that being a strawhat pirate could give because for years and years every bit she earned was tucked away for the well-being of others and was then stolen from under her nose. (This paragraph got very long but I'm not sorry I am the captain of the Nami defense squad.)

And finally Sanji reflects words of praise as a love language. I think it's the most clear to see with how Sanji is so quick to praise any female character he comes into contact with, especially Nami, but I think it also reflects his strained relationship with zef while working at the baratie. Zeff is always verbally critical of Sanji as a way to rile him up and to encourage him to leave the restaurant. Zef weaponises what makes Sanji tick to antagonise him and tries to get him to leave that way, but Sanji is far too stubborn and feels too great a debt to leave.

I think east blue definitely shows the 5 dynamics in a pretty clear way and kinda helped me understand what makes the characters tick. Also why some of the characters end up butting heads or getting into arguments. They all show and recieve love in different way, sometimes there are misunderstandings or clashes but at the end of the day they all trust each other with their lives and it's such a strong bond.

Anyways I'll eventually draw some more OP but I'd love to hear any thoughts or other people's ideas if they have any on the matter. Sometimes I get analysis brainworms, and I first shared the idea on discord, but figured why not post it to Tumblr too

I don't like getting political on main, mostly because of personal issues and anxieties, and maybe it is hypocresy on my end to speak on something just because it personally affects me, but here we go I guess.

Hi, I'm Sal, I'm an inmigrant from Venezuela, I have not returned to my country for 4 years now. Not to visit, not to fix my papers. I am lucky to have been granted citizenship in the country i'm currently residing just because my mom is from there.

I have two grandmothers, one who practically raised me and I had to leave behind, I had a dog, she was my first pet and the smartest dog I've ever met and I had to leave her behind. I have family all around LATAM now, one in the US who cannot go back.

This is what I've heard from family, videos, coverage from the media that was allowed to film:

Monday was a depressing day for my country when the political party that has been in power for 25 years blatantly stole the elections from my people. During the voting process, several voting centers were not opened until mid-day, a tactic used to discourage people from voting, witnesses were not allowed to enter, soldiers were standing guard as an intimidation tactic, people were chased off the lines, and millions of Venezuelans that were able to vote outiside of the country were roadblocked by requirements last minute (I was not able to vote, as we currently don't have the necessary income to afford a three person travel to the neighboring city, and didn't register our location, nevertheless I imagine my parents' names would appear on ballots they did not sign in favour of a goverent they do not support).

I've seen people here in support of this just because of his words pro-Palestine, and this is not me not sharing that sentiment, but to be blinded by the words you want to hear instead of listening to the cries of millions of people who also want freedom and stability in their country, and have voiced it for years, have died for it, then you don't really care about the sentiment behind those words, you care only to point to something and declare it evil, you do not care to fix it or that the people directly under it are calling it out, you need the world to fit your perspective of evil just to act superior.

The regiment I lived in is evil. The regiment that chased off doctors and has caused so many deaths or risk of deaths (I lost a friend, same age as me by anesthesia overdose, I almost lost my little cousin during COVID because they refused to admit it was COVID), the regiment that refused teachers their well earned payment, the regiment that took out power to a whole state for many hours just to shut them up. The blocades from the US or other countries has certainly allowed the situation to worsen but this was poisoned many years before that. The US has allowed this regime to fester because it is convenient for them, because why else would they spend so much money on the oil in Venezuela? Do you honestly believe a blocade was implemented to weaken the goverment? Fuck off dude it's to debilitate the people and allow the donkey we have for a dictator to continue ruling unopossed. It ends, it has to.

Don't be deafened by fancy and simpathetic words of a party that is freely eating the youths and dreams of their citizens, they do not care for your ambitions, they just want to feed themselves and let us starve.

I am against violence in general. But when you've taken all mediums for the people to oppose you, you are inviting the people to make you listen in the only way they can now. I hope the riots that are happening right now work, and I mourn each loss of every family that is making it possible. I pray my family stays safe, I pray my friends stay safe. Seokjin:

Having a family will give Jin happiness and fulfillment like never before so he’s gonna make sure to repay that back to his children in every way he can! This means he’s taking his kids traveling and out on vaca’s like all the time and all sorts of random adventures both indoor and outdoor for them to explore and enjoy the world as much as they want!

Don’t get it twisted though! Jin will indeed teach his children generosity and humbleness, he loves them to death but he’ll teach them better for sure and with that being said I imagine him as a bit of a stern father figure in which he would absolutely put his foot down when needed but he still has a major soft spot for his kids, but again Jin has no problem play “bad cop” if needed when things need to get done; he just won’t stick to that stern setting for long yk!

A very affectionate father, he’s gonna be kissing all up on his children so much! But honestly if his babies have his cheeks how can he not?! He’ll make kisses a tradition, no one can leave the house until he gets a kiss and morning and goodnight kisses will be an everyday occurrence. This will not falter when his kids get older, he will still kiss their cheeks and foreheads and expect one before they leave the house! He’d say every kiss was his good luck charm for them day 🥺

Acts of service and words of affirmation you said? Jin is the dad who wakes up with his kids for school to prepare them breakfast and see them off. Jin is the dad who says I love you every morning, night, and in between as well as never skipping a beat to affirm to his children how proud he is of what they’ve accomplished and who they are becoming. Jin is the dad to teach his children the skills he already knows as he wants to be the one who’s right there watching them grow and being the one to give them the help they need when they get stuck (imagine cooking with his kids 🥲)

Definitely the type of dad to not complain when his toddlers pull him away to jump around or do some sort of dramatic play but I def see him to be the type playfully whine and groan about it when they’re a little older but still comply like he wasn’t complaining before lol

When they’re teens he’s gonna be the one to teach them how to drive and be the type to scream and shout when they turn too fast or hit the brake to hard. As his children grow older he’ll playfully make them do things for him like drive him places and help him do things he can obviously do 💀

Jin would be a very protective father, he would never put his children in stressful or harmful situations and avoid them ever having to be in any. Not tryna be emo or anything but Yoongi’s goal with fatherhood is to give his children the freedom of a childhood he never got to have 🥺 he’ll be the type to give them room to explore who they are and their own interest as well as take them to places that allows them to feel free (kinda like Jin)

Another stern dad here, as he will teach his children both hard work and humbleness and teach them all the great things they could earn from doing both just like he did before he had them!

Yoongi is gonna be so so affectionate with his kids like he’s gonna hold them as much as he can at any age. Newborn? They’re laying on his bare chest as he’s fallen asleep in the rocking chair. Toddler? Carrying them in his arms as he sits in his chair in the studio and they lay their head on his shoulder. Child? Arms wrapped around their shoulders as he stands behind them and they wait for the bus to pick them up for school.

Quality time and acts of service you said? Yoongi is the dad to help his children pick out their clothes for the next day the night before with them and play a sort of dress up and even set up all their outfits to match. Yoongi is the dad to pack his children’s lunches and make every single bottle for them when scheduled or without even being asked. For Hobi fatherhood is gonna be so rewarding for him, i can just feel it 😭. He’s gonna be so in tune and enthusiastic with his kids and he’s gonna use all his resources to raise his children to the fullest, like they’ll have everything they need and more when having Hobi as their dad

I feel his children would be spoiled a bit but they’d never be raised to act like it. Hobi will be a strict father as he will be teaching his children to be humble, kind and diligent as he would show them that everything they were able to have was through his own perseverance and hard work.

Another very affectionate father as he would always be squeezing and holding his babies like they’re just too cute for him not to. Forehead kisses and face grabs are a every day, few times a day occurrence and at some point his children won’t even bat an eye to him doing that to them in any setting because they’re so used to it 🥺

Gift giving you said? Hobi is the dad who would go all out for holidays and birthdays as he wants all his children to feel special and important and loved by him, for example they’d get gifts that they’d enjoy on their birthdays and themed baskets for holidays like one for Valentines day that is filled with letters of love and sweets. Hobi is the dad to leave the house to go to the corner store to look for a few items needed but come back with his children favorite snacks and items cause he saw them and knew he had to get it for them. Definitely the dad to let his kids pick out what he wears for a day. If he has more than one they’ll all be assigned different sections of clothing like his footwear, jewelry, shirt, etc. Hobi will not care about how “out there” the outfit may look he’s gonna post and brag about how his babies dressed him that day and about the entire process to whoever’s willing to listen!

When they’re teens he’s gonna be a teacher and guide that they go to when they need support or another opinion regarding situations. The type of dad to be so serious during the process of teaching them how to drive and giving his kids tips that is until they park the car and he immediately starts cheering and clapping his hands like a mad man telling them how proud he is

Hobi stated himself that when you get him angry its hard for him to get out of that mindset or stop feeling angry, so imagine if somebody were to mess with his little ones? It would definitely not go well for them at all, like i’m talking he’d handle them so quick like he the richest member he know where to put his money to end somebody life lmfao and honestly I def see him writing a statement and use the person who put his family’s safety at risk as a example of how he’ll do the same and worse to anyone else 🫣

Namjoon:

Honestly I see Namjoon being a little hesitant and afraid (lol) when he first becomes a dad but as time goes on it’ll come so easy to him once he becomes attached to his children! He’ll definitely be a compassionate father who does his best to be as emotionally involved with his children, like he’s gonna try to be as committed and invested into his children’s lives as he can be.

Namjoon’s children will respect him so much like I can’t see it any other way. He’s definitely a soft strict parent who’ll be someone they look up to for sure as he’ll prioritize teaching them the lessons he feels he should have learned early in life as well as his own dilemma regarding respectability and positive traits that’ll get them through this world.

A very nurturing father for example he’s definitely going to be the one to hold his babies as they get their first shots and hold and comfort them while they cry! When they’re toddlers he’ll be the one to hold them and comfort them when they develop their first fears. As children they’ll develop a tradition where no one can leave the house before he gets his hug, because just like Jin he says he can’t start his day without their little hugs to fuel him up 🥺

Definitely the dad to offer to read his children to bed every night but some nights he’s so tired that he’ll end up falling asleep while reading and end up knocked out in his kids bed. If the child is old enough they’ll probably tuck him into their bed and spend the night sleeping on his chest, if they’re not he’ll probably have fallen asleep on a chair with them on his lap and they’ll probably be so confused but they’ll probably play with the book until they fall asleep on top of him. When they’re teens he’s gonna be the dad that they ultimately go to for advice, like they’ll take his words so seriously and prioritize his opinion when they ask for it. Out of all the other members he’s gonna be the parent who’s most chill when his children are driving with him in the car, like he’ll tell them what they did good and how to do better for future reference, like he won’t be a teacher like Hobi or a nuisance like Jin lol, he’ll give honest and helpful tips throughout their experience and in the end cheer them on and tell them how proud he is!

Namjoon don’t play period, and he not gonna let nobody play with his family. Super SUPER protective, he gets defensive when it comes to his family like he’s got no problem putting his foot down to anybody who’s got something negative to say about his babies. Like he’d tell people to f right off when it came to them, his family is his priority if anybody thinks they gonna get away talking any mess or making things difficult for them well i wish you luck dealing with a pissed off and rightfully vengeful Namjoon 🫡

Jimin:

Jimin’s gonna be such an enthusiastic father like fatherhood for him is going to be a positive experience in which he cherishes and cares for his children everyday and all the time! He’ll provide so much for his children like trips, adventures and everything they could ask for. He’ll never leave them ever needing for more

With that being said^ I see Jimin having boundary issues with his kids lol like he’ll definitely have a bit of a hard time saying no to his babies and just like Hobi he’ll spoil them too. But don’t get it twisted he’s gonna be teaching his kids that honesty is the best policy and teach them both how to be kind and giving just like he is. His children will be little angels in the making 🥺

Holding his children is a must for him like they don’t even have to ask, if he sees them he’s picking them up and loving all up on them until they get tired of his antics and push him away. For Taehyung fatherhood has always been a lifelong dream as he’s always wanted to replicate the love he was given from his father. So when I tell you that children for him will be a transformative experience, trust me 🫡. He’ll be so dedicated and devoted to his children and their lives, its the upmost priority for him to give them what his father gave him and much much more.

I do see Taehyung being a stern and respectful father towards his children. He’ll be the type to teach his children both how to be humble and how to get anything in this world they’ll have to work hard. As much as he would be stern he’ll definitely be the type of dad to be like “your mom doesn’t have to know” when doing sneaky things with his babies.

Loving on his children is gonna be second nature for Taehyung. Like once his babies have his attention good luck getting it because they’re all off in their own world. Just like his counterpart (Jimin lol) holding them is an all the time thing especially when they’re babies. Affection between him and his children will be a regular every day thing especially holding hands, he and his kids will hold hands crossing the street, walking together, eating together, and sleeping together lol.

Taehyung is the type of dad who would always praise his children for any small little thing, they drank all of their milk-cheers and applause, they placed a toy right where it belongs-cheers and applause, they drew him a picture-cheers and applause. Taehyung is the type of dad who takes pictures of anything that reminds him of his babies and keeps them for himself to show and discuss them with his little ones later.

Definitely the type of dad to answer to all of his children’s babbling and dialogue. As babies he’s having full on conversations with them that range from the most simple to the most strangest topics. I can also see him with a toddler in like the super market strolling down the aisle as he answers every single one of their questions, the answer will either be reasonable or just questionably strange to anyone who’s in listening range 💀

When they’re teens he’s definitely the type to take his kids out without any plan and let them decide where to go and what to do, i’m imaging that card decision trend on tik tok where the kids take a card and they go where it says, yeah thats like every weekend with Taehyung lol. When they’re driving he’s gonna be like Jin in the way that he’s gonna use his kids to drive him places or just simply be cargo as they do things throughout the day lmfao. Idk why but teaching them how to drive would be a bit difficult with Taehyung cause he’s just gonna sit there in silence until they park the car and then he’ll tell them if they did good or need more practice lmfaoo

Messing with Tae’s babies? Death Sentence. And i’m not even kidding like I don’t know who’s stupid enough to mess with the most important and innocent people in his life but whoever it is they better prepare for whats coming to them. Taehyung will pull every string to make sure that person’s life is ruined the way they tried to ruin his family’s life (or aspects of it), because Tae DONT PLAY 😤

Jungkook:

In my opinion, fatherhood is gonna be such a growing and learning experience for Jungkook. His children will better who he is once he has them and he’s honestly gonna be such a family man doing his best to provide his best to his children in every way he can 🥺

Jungkook is gonna pass all the knowledge he developed in his life time to his kids. Like he’s gonna teach them the hardships of life but gift them the ability to persevere through it all just like he did. He’s gonna push them to be the best they can be in everything that they involve themselves in and be a vessel of guidance for them when they need him to be.

A very attentive father who’s going to be there when he feels his children need him the most. The type to encourage his children through physical affection and remind them just how much he loves them through that as well. He’s a fun type of dad who’ll mix up his ways of being affectionate towards his kids like he’ll definitely carry his children on his neck or back and also dangle them from their feet while joking about dropping them. Cliche and overused but he would absolutely use his children’s affection as an award when working out such as having them under him as his does push ups and gives them a kiss as they giggle away.

Physical affection you said? Jungkook is the dad who latches onto his children the moment he sees them, like I mean grabbing them sideways and give them a whole bunch of kisses as he holds them close. Jungkook is the dad who needs to be in close contact with his children as much as possible, attached to the hip is an understatement when it comes to Jk and his babies, he has to have them at arms length to hold them close or get a hold of them if needed. Jungkook is the dad who will bother his children with his affections when he sees the chance to, they’re sitting down on the couch-Jk’s right there next to them pulling them onto his lap and playing with their hands or if they’re laying down somewhere where he can fit-well he’s right there to initiate a cuddling session regardless of the environment 🤭

Definitely the type of dad to want to do everything with his children! Oh they’re going to paint a picture, he’s coming with. Oh they’re gonna go play outside, looks like he need some fresh air. Oh they’re gonna go take a nap, seems like he’s feeling tired. This would be the case when they were young but it really doesn’t change when they’re older either cause if they say they’re gonna go out to run some errands he’s jumping up from where he is and asking where “they’re” going 😭.

When they’re teens the fun dad persona goes up a notch a bit as he’s always so playful with them both verbally and physically since they’re older now. When it comes to driving he’s a bit unhelpful at times as he’s always joking and spooking them when it comes to them hitting the brake or he’s joking that they took the wrong turn lol. But just like Jimin, when the car is parked he takes a minute to take in the fact that the baby who he can’t carry in his arms anymore just drove him around their home town, yeah baby’s definitely gonna shed some tears before he gets out of the car 🥺

Crazy. Crazy insane is what i’d call the person who tried to mess with his family’s wellbeing and safety. Like Jungkook do got the money and funds to ruin this persons life but honestly if he had the chance to be in person with the idiot oof is my only response. Mans got hands for days and his babies ain’t something he play about, he’s definitely the type to provide for his family and he’ll provide in every way possible including protection!

Day One (01) of thought dumping.

Today, just every other weekend that I have, I spent all day rotting in bed- doom scrolling. However, I always go back to watching videos on YouTube on how to earn money via side hustles. Why though? "Cause money is great!" /insert that Wired Emily Rudd clip.

Anyways, no, but an actual good quote that I heard today regarding money is that "Money buys you freedom", and that's so accurate. I want the freedom that money gives you.

Watching those 'how to earn six-figures via internet' videos, they always start with these questions "what are your skills, do you have hobbies, interests? why not start monetizing those."

However, that circles back to needing money. You want to learn and upskill? You probably have to pay for courses. You want hobbies? Yeah that also needs money... these are what I kept saying, when I compare myself to other people that I see on social media, "Because I do not have the money to invest in myself and upskill, I'm not interesting enough, I'm not artistic enough and I'm not smart enough. Which also means I have nothing to monetize in order to find my own side hustle niche."

What an excuse. Clearly, those are just excuses that I tell myself in order to get away from actually starting. There are ways around upskilling and making your life more interesting using basic internet connection.

All I have to do is start, but why is that so difficult.

WHAT IS THIS BLOG ALL ABOUT

Well, I call it the "Adding Character Depth Project".

Correct, character depth, I believe that my life is not interesting like others who have the money to spend outside, my personality is also not that unique and I don't think I have any out of this world talent, magic, strength or brains. In short, if I am a character in a novel, my life story and personality doesn't have that flare that makes them really interesting. The maximum role I'll get is that one liner character.

But if character building and character development exist in novels, why can't it be done in real life??? There's no way this is it. The other side of myself can't believe this is my maximum potential, I'm not satisfied with this version of myself. There has to be more.

So how can I add character depth to myself? Since this is not research based, let's start with what I find interesting that other people do or the people that I aspire to be do:

Journaling. This is what this tumblr is all about. Thought dump and progress dump. (With my personality of referencing what other people do, I wanted to make an official website for a blog but that's too time consuming and I'll end up stopping before I even started writing. So good old tumblr it is.)

Reading. I like reading actually but need to diversify. But for the past years I got hooked on fluffy romantic mlm and wlw books and I haven't able to explore beyond that genre anymore. I would like to read books that would make me think, that would intrigue me, that would make me feel like life is really interesting.

Pursuing art at 20s. I saw videos like PewDiePie where he started documenting his art journey by drawing everyday for 100 days(?) and it looks promising. As much as possible what I actually find interesting in drawing is world building, I want to draw the world or scenery that is usually being describe in the books that I've read. I don't really know how to start that one though.

Films. The people that I find to have interesting takes on life and unique personalities are usually people who dabble on films and photography. I want to start on expanding my knowledge and "uniqueness" (lol) by watching more films with good writing, good plot, good acting, good music and not my comfort variety shows.

Actually upskilling. The internet have so much to offer I'm pretty sure I can upskill on YouTube and find ways to earn money with that. Though this is quite a goal on it's own.

I'm pretty sure there are more to add but my brain can't think of any. Anyways, there are more details to add in every single one of these projects or hobbies, but I think it's better to discuss them separately.

Long blathering.

That Guy is now waffling on getting me insurance which comes as no surprise.

He left me alone and unguided other than "Just go to the ACA website and pick one." to search for an insurance policy and then when I came back to him with 6 different ones, he said I was researching it wrong.

I was like, "You did not give criteria. If you want something researched under certain criteria, you have to say that from the start." He didn't like that and asked me with full incredulity why didn't I already know everything there is to know about health insurance?

After some back and forth he was aghast and asked me did I seriously never, in the past two decades, get curious about how health insurance works and research it.

No. Why would I? Insurance was not available to me so it didn't matter how it worked. Insurance I'd had before was provided by my workplaces with no options as to which company or policy type I had. I am not curious about and not spending my free time researching the intricate inner workings of health insurance that I couldn't have anyway.

All I know is what others have mentioned here: Sometimes it's really difficult to get the right treatment and meds because insurance doesn't want to pay for it.

That he acts like I'm stupid for not knowing something like that is really irritating because it's not like he sits around learning everything there is to know about income tax.

I had reason to research income tax regarding hobby income, and so I did.

I informed him of something he didn't know about income tax: He can deduct my medical bills as long as he continues to claim me as a dependent. I didn't treat him like he was an idiot for not knowing that because he's never been curious about it, never sat down and researched it, didn't even know to wonder about whether or not that was a possibility, and pays a tax guy to do it all for him with the absolute minimum input and responsibility on himself.

The same situation I've been in regarding health insurance.

Anyway, he was also like "Calculate up all of the premiums and the expected yearly out of pocket, and if that is more than [parathyroidectomy] then it's not worth it to get insurance, and we won't."

Which... Is illogical....

The surgery is approximately $20k not including physicians fees, anesthesia, etc. and also not factoring in the self-pay 50% discount. But that's a vague estimate.

We've spent about $80k this year on surgeries, but he's not factoring that unexpected expense in to his expected medical expenses moving forward, he's only thinking about the surgery and not anything else like long-term medication, follow ups, complications, or anything else that might happen unrelated to problems we already know about.

The insurance policies I was looking at would cost between $16k and $18k/year between the premiums and the max projected out-of-pocket expense. We both know there's a risk of those policies deciding not to cover the cost of my medical needs and because of that he doesn't want to pay into a policy that isn't going to give me the coverage he wants. He mentioned being forced by the insurance company to take medication forever instead of getting surgery, and I countered that I may need to take medication forever even after surgery because of how severe my case is. I have a high risk of my blood calcium swinging hard into hypocalcemia because it's so excessively hyper- right now.

So, according to the criteria he's made known, the only medical care I will need going forward until I die is this parathyroidectomy and that's the only determining factor regarding whether or not he's willing to pay for a health insurance policy for me.

He also mentioned me finding work, specifically work from home, which he didn't want me to do before because he liked being 100% in control financially and me earning my own money means a chance of freedom from him because I wouldn't need him to cover my living expenses.

I told him that in order to work I really do need to be managed so working from home isn't going to work for me. Just look at how efficiently I sold ponies this year. I made 0 listings this year. I hardly touched a pony all year.

He mistook that as me saying I need my work place and my home place to be separate, but that's not what I was saying.

Either way, work from home probably isn't going to work for me not only because I will either work incessantly until I hurt myself or not work at all, but also because every time I've mentioned it he starts in again on not wanting foreign devices on our home network, or me going to weird websites that could infect my computer and then the home network, or, those foreign devices surveilling him I mean us like the government would if I were on Medicaid or......

Also, I've been trapped in this house for 16 years. I wouldn't mind an inarguable excuse to leave.

That does mean he'd have to get me a car, which he also doesn't want to do because that's more money.

I had an ok if painful job and preposterously good insurance before he knocked me up by ignoring our agreed upon contraceptive method and then decided we should move way out into a suburb with no walkable work available into a half-a-mil house in the middle of nowhere.

I do not sympathize with his financial gripings.

He's also said that he's looking for somewhere else to work but thinks he screwed himself in the industry.

The job he's done for the past 20 years is one where your reputation and contacts mean more than anything else, and he said he's been "Very vocal about everything that's wrong with this country..." for the past few years.

Like I'd said before, the pandemic brought out the worst in him, and he's been shitting on all of his relationships since, apparently including professional ones. I do know he yelled at the person that was his shoe-in to finding different offices looking for people because he didn't like government forcing everyone to wear masks during the height of the pandemic.

That's stupid on his part because he has no other experience or education to fall back on in order to jump to another career path. Outside of the industry, he's just another useless rando with a high school diploma, no work experience, and no higher education.

He likes to think he's smarter than everyone else, but isn't smart enough to keep his personal political opinions out of the workplace.

Not that I'm in any different a situation, education-wise, but I've not had access to money to change that and he has.

Hi there, hope all is well with you this week. I've been really enjoying your posts/responses these past couple of days. Like I've mentioned before I'm new to this Fandom and BTS members. As someone who has fallen into the rabbit hole of BTS and watching all their videos I have to say even I didn't know Taekook was a thing, but their interactions does have me questioning things. Like I have never seen a man look at another man the way Tae looks at JK. I mean really? And he isn't doing it for "fanservice" cause those were not for the camera moments. Some moments on stage while performing sure, sometimes a bit much IMO but again it's playing for the fans and getting a response right. But other times? Naw, those are some intense moments to be discounted as "fanservice". Like the saying goes eyes do not lie.

Anywho what I wanted to say was some of the ask that you've been receiving in regards to BH giving the members more "freedom" needs to understand that those "freedoms" more or so applies to them being artists. More freedom to pursue their artistic sides as in music and brand deals, not the freedom to do, say and act as they please. BH is still a business and they want to make money, and so does BTS. BH still has control over their personal lives because at the end of the day good images is good for business. In the end no BTS does not have the freedom to do and say as they please, they have freedom in showing fans their new music or pictorials. Like you said they have more freedom compared to other kpop acts because they have earned it, they've worked hard for it and that's their right. They are still contractual tied to BH until 2027, until then they have to operate as a business.

I agree with your statements. There's many different aspects of freedom. Freedom in one area doesn't automatically mean they have freedom in other areas as well. I always try to look at the business side of things as well, because no matter how personall things might be to us fans, to BTS it will always also be business.

Just had an incredibly infuriating “conversation” with my covert narcissistic mother. It really shouldn’t surprise me at this point - and it doesn’t - but it never fails to leave me appalled.

My mother thinks the right for women to work was a horrible mistake.

I can’t even wrap my head around this.

She found some TikTok video of a young mother crying that she was exhausted, complaining, “For those who fought for the right for women to work, why???”

And my mother agreed with everything this woman said.

She went on a rant, claiming that men think women are spending THEIR money now, so women need to have the babies, AND work, AND keep the house. (Which is ironic because that didn’t happen for her. She stopped working as soon as I was born.)

Guess. What.

It’s called divorce. It’s called incompatibility. It’s called dump your shitty partner and get a better one. Or go solo.

But she used it as an excuse to talk about how SHE was a young mother “doing it all”, and how SHE never had help.

My mother REFUSED to let anyone else look after her children. She wouldn’t even let us go to sleepovers. We were her security blanket and our purpose was “to love her.”

And she HASN’T worked. For my entire life of 33 years. She hates my father, who has worked multiple jobs with no college education to provide for us, while she sits on her college degree and does not earn a single dime. The reason she does not want to get a divorce is because (in her words): “I would have to go back to work and I don’t want to do that.”

Women NEED the right to work so they don’t end up poor and homeless. They NEED to be able to support themselves so they aren’t shackled to abusive marriages. They NEED the freedom of their own income so they aren’t reliant on a man granting them - or refusing them - a meager allowance as if they are a child.

She acts like she does everything around the house when in reality, she’s sitting on the couch on Facebook or TikTok for hours straight. But my father is running himself ragged trying to keep up with things. And then she complains that she’s SO TIRED.

When I pointed out that the right to work is absolutely necessary so women are not reliant on men, so women like me who have no desire to get married, can earn my own keep, she didn’t hear a word of it. She just went on and on about how she was the victim when she’s not.

Balancing Act

When I got my first job, I really wanted to save my money, but it was tough because I was earning the lowest wage. I was fresh out of school, so I didn't make as much as I had hoped.

It was a stressful time both financially and mentally. To make things worse, I had my money stolen by a co-worker, and I had to borrow money because of it. I didn't know much about managing money back then, which made my situation even worse. My ex-partner didn't have a job for a while, and even when they did, they weren't great with money. When we went out to eat, I usually ended up paying the bill or splitting it 50/50. It was exhausting and stressful.

All of this happened when I was in my early 20s. But things changed two years ago when I decided to take control of my finances. I started learning about money by joining financial groups and reading books. However, there was a surprising twist. My ex-partner had taken care of a loan we shared, but after we broke up, they disappeared. I was the person they used as a reference, so I had to pay off the entire loan. This left me in a tough financial situation once again, and now I'm struggling with money.

It was a tough, sad, and crazy time. I used to cry every night, feeling like the world was ending. During that period, I had to learn to say 'no' to my friends, find ways to spend less, read about money strategies, and more. I had a part-time job, which I'm still thankful for even now. I watched a lot of videos in financial groups because I was really stressed. I kept wondering where to get the money we owed, and I started to get really mad at my ex-partner. He was like a demon in human form.

I'm actually grateful that we broke up because if we hadn't, I wouldn't have learned so much about managing money. I'm still learning about handling my finances, and I now have a great partner who knows how to manage money well. We're on the verge of creating an emergency fund and saving for our future together. I'm also getting better at giving up things I want and focusing on what I need. I'm about to pay off my debt soon, and I'm very excited to enter and achieve financial freedom in 2024. How about you? You Should Care

I've been AWOL for a little while. Brain has not been working right.

That aside this is a topic I've been meaning to cover more in depth and I really wish I could get it seen by bigger names than myself like Moist, Asmond, etc. Which is the larger issue with what happened with Russell Brand.

For those of you COMPLETELY out of the know, Russell Brand has recently been accused of sexual assault, "Being a creep", and rape. These accusations came out after a "Journalist" approached several women, specifically with the intent to find women that would say things against him. Mind you, all of these allegations are over 7-10 years old and some older than 20 years ago. (Several women also came out claiming the exact opposite, and several more women came forward saying the journalists approached them as well, but because they only had good things to say, they were ignored).

Now what I'm about to cover is the larger ramifications this is going to have in the future. After these allegations came out the BBC and Channel 4 unilaterally took down almost all if not all of his content and shows. Not long after that happened, we heard that several other people were removing Brands ability to make money, specifically YouTube. Who demonetized him outright. Now thanks in part to Rumble and also....SHOCKINGLY, TikTok. Seen here.

So this is a GOVERNMENT, who actually has a decent amount of power, sending out requests to Public and Private companies, to remove the FULL ABILITY of a Private Citizen, to earn money.

Now you can totally believe that Brand did what he has been accused of. And if you do? More power to you. However, you should not agree with him being depersoned and debanked without a trial and conviction by a jury of his peers. However, this becomes impossible as news of the allegations spreads in general. It's a social assassination using the media.

However, now for the actual scary part. Under the "Freedom loving UK's" New laws, the are now threatening to remove Rumble from their country outright for not getting rid of Brands ability to make money. Never in my life have I seen this kind of blackmail by a government this publicly. For context here is some stuff that's coming out recently.

This feels like the UK reaching out to people that advertise on Rumble in an attempt to remove Brands ability to make money, but also to remove him from the internet as a whole.

And this should scare you. Not because it's some "Rich guy who used to be kind of promiscuous publicly". This is because it proves that governments have a monopoly on companies. Regardless of the interests of the public. What do I mean by this. Consider the following.

The UK Gov, more or less demanded, Russell Brand have all money earnings removed outright to YouTube(Yes other places but let's focus on this one for the moment).

Then, YouTube, takes and removes his ability to make money and removes him from the Partner Program as well. They in fact cite "Off Site Behavior" in doing this. Meaning, this sets a precedent, for YouTube, to receive a "Claim" or "allegation" against you, and they will act on it as if it's actual fact.

That should worry you. And no matter how much you don't like that "Nazis" exist, or any other awful group of people, Rumble and Kick are places that are supposed to be arenas of competition for YouTube and Twitch. Will they ever actually overtake? Probably not. But if we don't actually take a vested interest in trying to move people over to using the competition, we are more or less letting places, like the UK, or any other country for that matter, decide what is, "Real information".

How long until the profit motive from China becomes so much that companies start removing LGBT stuff from all media. How much profit motive from China is needed before they say, "Yeah no we don't just want you to minimize black roles in media. Take them completely out entirely". And while you think, "That will never happen", It's literally happening right now. THIS is the very public start to that problem. If we don't make this the hill we fight and die on, we are bowing to censorship, and we will not win this ground back.

It might be about time you started to take notice. Shit's going to go south really soon. How long until you take a stand?

and i guess you can say this is all naive- that hes only advocating for this, to be in power himself- but... so is laura? like shes holding onto her position so she can do what she thinks is right; so she can exercise power. fucking SHRUG. whats the damn difference there? and shes the one with the upperhand right now. and dont get me wrong- i like laura and the decisions shes made genereally speaking but again... a) not crazy to want an elected leader and b) not crazy to question how shes handling civilian side of things bc we barely see that at all
