I couldn't stand it while I read it (it was just so dark it made me sick, its fucking phenomenal writing), but I kept reading it cause it sucked me in. Omg! I can’t believe we’re finally meeting! I’m Morgan, so nice to finally see you!

I hope you don’t mind me introducing myself by the way, first impressions do count.

I’m 24, my birthday is December 1st, so that makes me a Sagittarius. Blood type is O, so universal donor type if anyone needs it. ٩꒰｡•◡•｡꒱۶ I have blue hair and brown eyes, it’s an interesting combination. Oh, and I have near perfect 20/20 vision! It was off by a few points last time I went to the optometrist. They couldn’t get an accurate measurement of my eyesight, they said the machine malfunctioned or something.

I love baking sweets, any time I see a new recipe I have the urge to try it out, and even if it goes wrong it’s still just as good! I also do a little sewing, some gardening, and I love stargazing on clear nights, especially when the moon is out. It’s so pretty (´ ▽｀).。ｏ♡ if I don’t have time to bake sweets, I’ll usually get chocolate chip cookies or pirouettes, they’re my top two favorites. Oh! And kitties or cats!! They’re so fluffy and sweet.

But as much as I could tell you about all the things I like, there’s some stuff I really don’t like. For instance: thunderstorms, stressful situations, heights (which is ironic considering another matter I can’t really tell you about, sorry), bugs, especially roaches (gross!), arguments, stubbornness, feeling helpless, my (metaphorical) wings popping out at the wrong time, molting seasons, and sometimes heat seasons. (I don’t think you need to know about that one yet, at the very least.)

Oh, I think there’s something else you should know. I didn’t write these though.

First of all, Happy New Year. 🎉 *pfooot*

Second of all, thank you for still flooding my inbox with questions, lol, I'm glad I'm still on your mind, despite having slowed down considerably over the last year. I'm trying to pick and choose the best of them to continue and my "I need to park my butt and work on X" list keeps getting bigger, so thank you to those who have been patient. It's hard to keep up when you have so many ideas percolating and have to juggle a job, a house, hobbies (soooo many hobbies), and friends and family. Here's hoping 2024 can keep me going. Trust me, Bee loves your attention.

Thirdly, I know I've not been very big on talking about the Me behind the slimes, but I originally set out to keep Bee and co as a separate entity from what I normally do. Partially because I have a terrible potty mouth and a lot of my other works aren't really set up for a PG-13 rating, so I kind of wanted to keep that separate for a bit.

That being said, my New Year's goal basically boils down to "Read more, Write more, Draw more" -- one I hit the ground running toward this week. It may be more Bee, it may be more of my other comics, but if I'm silent here, maybe you might be interested in some of the other stuff I do? SYSTEM.Reload is an attempt to adapt 20 years of RPs and lore building around my and my friend's characters after events of the Megaman X video games. It's a sequel of sorts to an earlier comic RIPtheSYSTEM, which was a collaboration between me and a friend that we started in 2003 and let fizzle out in 2007. .Reload started out as an Ask Blog that never went anywhere, and I just shrugged and drew 250+ pages of characters doing things under the guise of a plot. I don't pretend to know what I'm doing, I'm just kind of enjoying the ride. It's a lot more rudimentary than my actual ART because comics take time and I'm an impatient woman who will physically explode if I don't get my ideas on paper.

My biggest goal is hoping to finish out Part 2 this year. I have the majority of Part 3 written and Part 4 laid out, but I promised myself I'd hit a 2022 goal to complete Part 2 and failed that pretty miserably.... mostly because I keep going back to smooth out wrinkles instead of just finishing the thing.

I genuinely try to keep it censored for Tumblr, but Delta has the temper of a gangster with the mouth of a drug problem.

I plan to be very mean to him as he tries to build a life for himself while his ex-wife holds a grudge and his adopted sire makes his life miserable. :3c Because I'm a writer. I write. And I've read too much Dresden Files to see everyone get a happy, boring existence...

arena i tried out but i couldnt get a handle on the combat very well :(. 6 minutes playtime

i havent played daggerfall tho i do have it. 0 minutes playtime

morrowind i really need to play more of, cause it looks really interesting and I love Morrowind as a place, but I struggle w directions a Lot and it doesn't have map markers of any kind. 3.9 hours playtime

oblivion i rly rly enjoy, its goofy and intuitive and I don't know nearly as much abt the game as I do skyrim so I get to experience new things. 38.6 hours playtime

skyrim is nostalgic but i mostly have it downloaded for this blog at this point, I don't like to repeat things in games a lot and at this point I've done the majority of the stuff it has to offer. i am trying a locked tomb rp run tho! 10 hours combined playtime (basegame and special edition. i also have vr edition but I don't have a vr headset. this is on steam, ive played significantly more on console but I no longer have access to that console)

eso is really fun for me, but its one of those games where I get really focused on it for a little bit and then don't touch it for months. often ill get rly annoyed while playing cause ill find smth that doesn't quite make sense in the lore (reachmen in the rift & the companions being based out of the rift? ig i could see it being a splinter cell of the companions, but i don't see how they could properly justify the reachmen being there. i didn't finish that questline tho) and the combat can get repetitive (hit it a bunch of times. if i die use one of the hundreds of soul gems i bought of the player market, which incidentally i can use to resurrect myself. try fighting again if its a boss, or just walk to the end of the cell while I'm a ghost), and some of the balancing is fucked (that one quest in black marsh where you have to do the trials, and you have to take poison and then win a fight. googled how to beat it. "wait for another player"). 23.9 hours playtime

blades is also rly fun for me but I keep forgetting to charge my switch :(

legends was interesting but i find card games confusing a lot. 20 minutes playtime

💖 welcome to raine's stupidly-long guide to starting tumblr rp! 💖 qualification: i've had this blog for 11 years. fml disclaimer: still all just from my perspective, i'm just one gal with opinions hehe

start out by making a new blog for your character. (i wouldn't recommend starting out with a sideblog personally, since you can't send asks from them). choose a url that feels relevant. i'm always a fan of the ol "smush two words together that sound nice" technique — ie, my other blogs are huntershowl and icarusplunged — which never seems to fully go out of style. really you can do whatever feels right to you :)

the most important part of setting up an rp blog is creating a rules page and, if you're writing an OC, an about page. the rules set up your boundaries, your wants and don't wants, anything you want someone to know before they follow you. the about page should give new partners everything they need to know about your character — personality, appearance, setting/lore, any backstory you want to display publicly.

feel free to look around at different rpers' rules pages and use them as inspiration! as long as nothing is copypasted and everything is your own original content, which brings me to etiquette.

etiquette!

'tis largely an Unspoken Thing in the rpc (rp community), and breaching it can def make people feel uncomfortable (even though that's something that Should be in rules pages, most of us forget haha). here are the things i can think of off the top of my head:

the way to reach out to new people is simply to follow them. that's all you gotta do! if they don't follow back, don't push, just unfollow them after a few weeks and move on. it's almost never personal!

in that vein, if someone's blog is private/selective/mutuals-only, wait to interact until they follow back.

once they do, it's up to you how you want to move forward — usually i'll wait until they post some sort of interaction call for you to like. a starter call, a plotting call, orrrr if they reblog an ask meme (which is like a list of sentence prompts! you can choose one from the list and send it as an ask, which they can use as an rp starter.) you can also just IM them though :)

don't reblog non-rp content (ask memes, quotes/imagery, etc) directly from another rp blog, it clogs up their notifications! just reblog from the original post instead.

don't interact with other people's threads (liking or reblogging, but feel free to read them and talk about them ooc!), and only respond to a starter if it's labeled as open — otherwise it was probably written for another rper specifically.

try not to prod people too hard if they haven't responded in a while. some folks are okay with being reminded about a forgotten thread a few weeks after replies stall out.

always tag nsft (not safe for tumblr, the other acronym gets flagged/hidden) and very upsetting content — gore, SA or abuse mentions, etc. i've seen some people starting to use "dead dove do not eat" as a catch-all for super dark content, but honestly that phrase gives me the heebiest of jeebies so i prefer to go with individual tags

general platformless rp etiquette rules apply: don't steal other people's content, don't assume or control the other character's actions/thoughts/etc.

be kind to each other, most of all. communicate when you have a problem with someone, rather than making a vague/callout post about them. that being said, i'm a proponent of the block button — blocking people is okay! it's not a big deal. this is a hobby space and no one is entitled to you. advocate for yourself!!

now: RP STRUCTURE (the fun part)

we don't really do "script" style rp on tumblr — it'll usually, if not always, be in prose/paragraph form. formatting is a fun touch, but not necessary. as you can see, i'm using small text here with some little chunks of text in bold/italic or regular size text to add some visual interest. again, not necessary! experiment, figure out what you like!

lots of people will use icons of different sizes — 100x100 is the most common, but they really do vary. i would suggest going smaller rather than bigger (like don't use full post-width gifs or icons, try to keep them under half the size of the post? that's the most common vibe at least.)

icons can be used to "illustrate" your character's expression among a bunch of text, if you want Visual Spice. but they are soooo not necessary! totally up to you.

to reply to a thread, reblog it and add your post.

important: i highly recommend downloading and installing XKIT in your browser. it's an extension that lets you trim posts to the last two reblogs (common around here), customize your blog experience, and just makes it a lot easier to exist on tumblr haha.

While I love rping, I do not always have motivation to write. I may also be selective with what I am writing some days. This is nothing personal. I get into different moods and like rping what I am in the mood for.

It was a one sided fight. As always. He was yelling and you just took it. It was your fault after all. You shouldn’t have touched his shit, but you did. So now you are here. Holding back your pathetic tears. A mouth full of words was pushing through your lips and soon they fell out. “Sometimes I wonder why you’re still with me..” you whisper, no longer able to push back your tears. “I mean I don’t know what you want from me anymore,” You mutter softly.

He sat their stunned for a moment, “Maybe I want to be alone, but fuck your so clingy and nosey.” He muttered softly. He looked up at you, disgust in his eyes. “You know sometimes I wonder what the hell happened to you at birth to make you this fucked up. We’re you dropped or something?” He screamed. His hands now balled up into fist. You’re scared. You’re not going to lie. As he steps forward you flinch and that brings him back to reality. Instead of saying something he backs off and slams the door. You sit there stunned.

“I’m sorry..” you whisper and leave, grabbing most of your stuff. What ever you can grab at that moment which happens to be your phone, keys, wallet, and jacket. You take a deep breath as you slip on your shoes and leave quietly. Locking the door after yourself.

Your thoughts were all over the place as you got into your car. Grabbing your phone you turn it off. Not wanting any calls or texts. Expecting none, but that just might hurt you more. You take a deep breath and decide to drive nowhere on a random freeway. You start the car and leave.

Hours passed when Sakusa finally came out of the room, “y/n..?” He whispered softly. Now missing you as he didn’t know what he was doing. He looked around and soon realized some of your stuff was gone, and so were you.

He bit his lip running to his room as he called you. “Pick up.. pick up.. pick up..” he whispered.

Heyo! You’ve happened to miss me! I’m sorryyy but I am probably hanging out with my amazing boyfriend. Please leave a message and I’ll call you back soon! Anyways gotta go. I’m going to get in trouble with my boss if he catches me on my phone.

He bit his lip hearing the voicemail. It’s funny, he had never heard it before. Maybe it was because he never called and it was always you. Or maybe because when he did you picked up immediately. Unknowingly tears start to roll down his face. He fucked up. He knows he fucked up.

He lays down on the bed you guys share and just holds your pillow close. Tears rolling down his cheek. He calls again but waits till he can say something. “Y/n.. I’m sorry.. Please pick up. I’m sorry.” He sniffles as his tears fall. “I didn’t mean any of it.. please..” he whimpered softly as he knew it was no use. He ended the call and just cried for a few hours.

When night came he decided not to eat. He wasn’t feeling good as he tried to call you again. Yet not to his surprise he heard the same voicemail. Tears welled up as he heard your soothing voice. He couldn’t believe he made you so scared that you flinched away from him. “Y/n.. baby.. please.. I’m sorry.. I miss you.. I know I sound stupid and you probably want some space.. b..but please..” he hung up. Throwing his phone as he hugged your pillow closer.

At 11 pm you finally make it back. Hoping he is sleeping as you walk in. But to your surprise you can hear soft cries and whimpers coming from the room you share. You bit your lip softly as you gently put your stuff down. Softly taking a deep breath, you gently knock.

“Ba.. Sakusa..” You bite your lip as a couple seconds later you can hear the sound of someone fall or something and then you’re greeted with a tight hug.

“I’m sorry.. I’m sorry.. I’m sorry..” he whimpered softly as he just held on to you. “Please don’t go.” Fear was heard clearly in his voice.

You bit your lip. “Baby.. I’m right here.. take a deep breath.. I’m dirty Sakusa you gotta let me go..” you whispered worried how he might react later.

“No..” he whispered softly as he held on tighter. “P..please no..” he was scared.

“Okay okay.. I’ve got you.. no leaving..” you smiled softly as you gently held him. “I’ve got you..” you muttered softly. You gently held him kissing his head. You take off your jacket and make your way to the bed you guys share. Gently sitting down and Sakusa followed.

He hugged on to you immediately as tears flood his eyes. “I’m sorry.. I don’t want you to leave me and stuff.. I didn’t mean any of it..” he whispered softly “I love you so much.” He muttered.

“I love you too baby..” you whispered softly playing with his curly dark hair. “I didn’t mean to worry you okay.. I’m sorry baby..” you mumble softly.

“It’s my fault.. I got angry and I started yelling and.. a..and I wanted to show you how mad I was.. and I started to scream at you and I said that I didn’t want you to be so clingy.. I didn’t mean that. I missed you and when I went to find you I couldn’t.. and it scared me and I know I fucked it. And I know I shouldn’t have done that. When I saw you finch I didn’t know.. I..I just thought about how terrible I was acting and stuff..” he whispered softly. “When I tried to call you.. you didn’t pick up and then I heard your voicemail.. and I don’t know I just..” he was crying into your chest as he held on.

“Shush.. I’ve got you.. I’m sorry baby.. I know.. it was my fault okay? You didn’t mean too. I touched your stuff and I didn’t think about how you would feel.” You whispered softly, kissing his head softly. “I didn’t mean to worry you.. and you know I wouldn’t ever just leave you without saying anything. I won’t do that to you..” you whispered as he closed his eyes and just held on. “I’ve got you and won’t let you go I promise..” you whispered softly while holding him.

“I love you..” he whispered softly as he looked up to you. Tears in his eyes. “I love you so much..” he whispered.

“I love you too darling..” you smile softly. Holding him till he falls asleep. Once he does you close your eyes and fall asleep too.

He got jealous easily. Everyone knew that. He was the type to act on his jealousy. Not only that, but he acted upon them in irrotational ways. So when he heard that you were hanging out with a coworker, it wasn't an extreme surprise that he made a huge deal about it. Starting an argument as soon as you get back.

"Just tell me who the fuck he is!" He screamed, his voice echoed in the hallway. You weren’t even inside yet and he was already acting as if he was going to kill someone.

"Can I even just come in?" you look up at him. You’re clearly annoyed which might just make him more upset.

"Oh okay just come inside! Would you like something to drink too?” He said sarcastically.“Oh wait you went and had coffee already with this 'coworker'!" He screamed as you pushed your way through the door.

When you turn to him the door is already shut and he is waiting for an answer. “It’s a coworker I don’t need to repeat myself, and I won’t. I’m not going to not hang out with people because you want me too!” You scream. Here’s the thing. Your so fucking sick and tired of him pushing you around. You used to take his shit but a month or two ago you started to respond. There’s no fucking reason for his shit.

“Ya you know what. Maybe I would be okay with it if it wasn’t taking up our time together!” He screamed and at this point nobody is really understanding what the other is saying.

“Our time? Our time?! How fucking dare you. You’re always at work! I don’t get a word out before you kick me out of our office!” You look at him in annoyance.

“My work is something I can’t just ignore! So I don’t understand why you keep bringing it up! Your fucking coworker can wait can’t they? I mean you knew I was off today! Did the whole fucking date just skim over your head?” He screamed. Now everything sorta just clicks.

“Wait ba-” but before you can finish he had already left the room. A few brief seconds pass by and you are met with the sound of a door slamming. “Fuck..” you muttered softly.

A few minutes go by and you come to the idea that he wants some time alone. You are just coming home, and are already ready to leave. So you slip on your shoes and leave. Locking the door after you head out to go get some for him, full of his favorite snacks and stuff. Knowing full well that wouldn’t fix it but maybe it could make him a bit happier.

When you get to your car you get a pop up from your reminders app. You feel a wave of tears. “Fuck,” you muttered throwing your phone to the next seat over as you start to drive.

It takes about half an hour for him to notice you’re not there anymore. He doesn’t hear your footsteps or anything as he gets up to check. After a moment or two he knows you left for sure. “Fucking shit. Misses our date and then leaves..” he muttered softly as he headed to the shared room.

You arrived getting a few things as you don’t think about anything other than how to make him happy.

After an hour or two more he bit his lip softly now a bit worried if you’re okay. But he doesn’t call waiting an hour before he does so.

Hello! It seems like you have sadly missed me. I can call you back as soon as possible! Just please leave a message! Bye bye!

It takes him a moment before he opts just to hang up. When he does he releases a shaky breath.

An hour later you get back with some stuff gently placing the stuff down as you take off your jacket and shoes.

Iwaizumi hears you scrambling up and running over. A sigh of relief falls as he sees you standing there. “Thank god..” he muttered softly, walking up to you.

You look over unsure what to say as you feel his arms tightly wrap around you. “I’m.. I’m sorry Hajime…” you whispered softly as tears welled up. You hugged him tight as you felt terrible. “I’m sorry…” you whisper again.

“Hey it’s okay.. I know you didn’t mean to.. I just.. I was upset because it feels like sometimes when I do make time for you something happens.. like last time and shit. But when I don’t it always seems like you’re free and I thought we knew we were both open today and I woke up without you there and then I found out you were having coffee with someone and everything just started crashing down you know..?” He whispered softly.

“I know baby.. I know.. I’m sorry.” You whisper as you hear soft cries come from him. “I’ve got you.. okay? I promise next time I will remember.. I know I messed up okay? You didn’t deserve that..” you whispered as he kinda just stays quiet and holds on. “I got you some goodies baby…” you whisper.

“Please don’t leave like that again.. it made me worried..” he whispered now finally telling you. “I thought you left for good..” he muttered softly, holding you “you didn’t respond to my calls either..” he whispered softly.

“I’m sorry baby.. I won’t.. and you know I wouldn’t do that to you.. I love you too much for that okay?” You bit your lip as you listened “I didn’t see them.. I’ll check why later.. okay? I’m sorry,” you whisper and kiss his head holding him close. Soon enough he drags you to your shared bed to cuddle.

“I love you..” he whispered softly, holding on.

“I love you too Hajime,” you smiled softly, kissing him. Soon enough he fell asleep, the stress finally lifted off his shoulders. You were in his arms again. That’s all that mattered.

01. GUIDELINES

This is just so… it’s written down somewhere and you have an idea about what’s cool and not around this blog. It’s a bit long but you’ll see I’m pretty chill with everything —most of the rules are just basic common sense.

BASICS

• I’m slow. Super slow. I work full time and have a busy life outside Tumblr. Keep this in mind if you have trouble writing with someone who might take weeks to answer a thread.

• No godmoding. Do not control my character’s actions, unless we’ve talked about it and I’ve said it is okay to do so in certain threads. 

• Hate won't happen here.

• Let’s keep the drama in character. I won’t tolerate it ooc. 

• If you’re underage, I will not rp NSFW/smut stuff with you. I’m quite past of age, so NSFW can happen anytime and will be properly tagged. It may go under a read more. That being said, I would prefer writing with adult writers —nothing wrong with being a teen in the RP scene (I was one myself once upon a ton of blogs), but I would kindly encourage you to find writers closer to you in age.

• I’m selective. Just for my own sanity. It means I very much like to have a controlled number of threads and will not start anything new until there are slots available, so to say. I don’t have that much time to be around here, and it can be overwhelming to come back after a while and find +50 drafts waiting for me. 

• I do reserve the right to refuse to rp, specially if I feel our muses are not connecting at all.

• OCs, AUs and crossovers are more than welcome, though I will need some details to get things going (bios, info, etc). Anyway keep in mind I feel most comfortable within Middle-Earth and that I will be reluctant to write something set in a fandom I don’t know much about —or if I don’t really see Ereinion going there. Fandoms I won’t be doing crossovers with include Harry Potter, ASoIaF, Marvel and videogame based ones. 

• On that note, I won't follow any HP related muse, neither characters coming from other JKR works.

• I won’t follow you if you’re not an rp blog, but you’re welcome into my ask and the im thing anyway (I’ll follow if your rp blog is a sideblog, though, just let me know!)

•Racism, zionism, antisemitism and anti-LGTBQ+ commentaries and views will get you a block. Good riddance.

• If it’s not tagged as “do not reblog”, feel free to do so, whatever it is. In fact the only things I want you to /not/ reblog are threads, though I’m okay with you hitting the heart. The rest is fine, whether it is a headcanon, a joke, a drabble or something I wrote ooc.

• As I don’t really have that much time to be around, I tend to tag my memes and starters with the people they’re intended to. Please refrain from sending anything if the tags don’t mention you. Otherwise send in whatever you want :)

ABOUT EREINION & FANDOM STUFF

• Though I know this whole mess of a story about Gil-galad’s parentage, I will be roleplaying with The Silmarillion version of him being Fingon’s child. Yes, I know Christopher Tolkien believes that might have not been his father’s last word on the matter but I couldn’t care less. The Fingolfinian lineage is the one that makes the most sense to me, and I tend to take anything after the published Silmarillion with a pinch of salt.

•I don’t agree with LACE. Ereinion sort of… does? It has more to do with his image as the head of the country than personal belief, for him.

•I also don’t agree with most fanon stuff, specially regarding the Fëanorian side of things; you are welcome to have your own opinions and views, of course, and I welcome healthy discussions and debates about the lore, but do not try to shove fanon down my throat disguised as a canon take because I won’t like it. 

•My portrayal leans heavily on my own headcanons about Ereinion’s life and what little bits the text lets you see about him. They’re part of my Ereinion and I’ve been developing them for years. Anyway if we’re writing and any of them collides with your own headcanons on whatever the matter, I’ll be more than happy to discuss them with you and get to a solution that works and makes sense for the both of us. 

•On that note, about headcanons: Gil-galad is a canon character and we all work with the same source material. If some of my headcanons, ramblings and conclusions about him resonate with you, feel free to adopt them into your lore. Crediting this blog would be appreciated, though.

•While I do not expect anyone to be The Official Tolkien Walking Encyclopaedia, I do expect coherence. 

•Also I’m not a big fan of biased and twisted interpretations for the sake of shaming characters you don’t like/hate. If you want to bash someone you personally don’t like, make it ooc and don’t involve me. I’m not a big fan of dog-piling either.

•Yes, I’ve watched the show and yes I have loved it. I will take bits from it, because the aesthetics and stuff are cool, but I will be keeping mostly to the books and my headcanons when writing Ereinion, as I did before. Needless to say, show fans are more than welcome in this blog.

SHIPPING AND PLOTTING

•I won’t romantically ship Ereinion with either Círdan or Elrond. I picture Círdan mostly as a father figure for Ereinion, being sent to the Falas so young; as for Elrond, I believe his relationship with him is either brotherish or some sort of parental figure/ward. I don’t feel comfortable writing something that feels like incest. 

•In fact, one of the few romantic ships I’m willing to write is the one currently going on with @tallshipsandtallkings and her OC Elenna, daughter of Elendil. It is something we’ve been building up for some years now. 

•Elendil/Gil-galad would be another.

•Brotps and ships that have nothing to do with romance/sex are cool, though, as well as cracky ones just for the sake of certain memes.

•Romantic or not, I will need chemistry between our muses.

•I’m not exclusive and but I can do mains and affiliates. I welcome duplicates -even from my own muses! Each one of us brings something new to their portrayal, and that’s very enriching. I’ll be more than happy to discuss our characters.

•I actually do prefer to plot things out before starting a thread. Threads derived from memes are the exception to this rule, as they tend to be more spontaneous stuff.

•If we’re friends ooc and have talked a lot or if I’ve given you free rein to do so, you can send starters directly into my inbox without it having to be a meme, or start a thread without my explicit consent; if we don’t know each other yet, please don’t. Those will be deleted.

FORMATTING AND THREADS

• I think each thread has its own pace. Long replies are good for a certain plot, while short ones are good for a certain other. But one-liners? Not a fan. I tend to make long posts, but I won’t ask you to match my length if you don’t feel like writing that long, or that short. Write as much as you’re comfortable with.

• I’m open to all kind of threads, except for abusive relationships.

• I won’t format much, but I don’t mind if you do. Also I don’t really care if you try to match my lack of format in your replies or not. I’m no one to tell you how to run your blog. Same applies to icons.

•Please tell me if you need me to tag something for you. The most recurrent triggers are usually tagged by default but let me know  if you need something more specific.

•If you see I’m not cutting my posts it means I’m from mobile (which is from where I post mostly these days). Feel free to trim our threads down for me if it is an issue for you. 

•I don’t care if you continue a thread below an ask or if you open a new post for it; just tag me and I’ll be there. I personally do prefer continuing asks in a new post.

you're right, strange would totally make the situation worse and has zero conflict resolution skills. probably comes from being able to over power most people he interacts with, he never has to worry about de-escalation.

strange flaps off to look for answers, and once otto has stopped yelling and bashing the walls (peter probally doesn't help, "stress is bad for the baby!") he's just quiet. and still. v worried about the baby but also wondering about norman like you said. did he come through as well? he hasn't got the enhancments he had last time, no suit or anything to defend himself. potentially no knowledge or memories to know who to reach out to for help. maybe when otto and norman last spoke, otto said some things he's not proud of, especially knowing norman was only prying out of concern.

and what the hell is superhuman abilities meant to mean anyway?? would returning through to his universe effect the baby again? does he have to stay here, in this universe until the baby's born?? he's so confused and afraid and desperatly trying not to show it because he's proud like that.

Peter eventually lets him out again, when he seems calm again. he looks exhausted really and Peter suggests maybe otto get some rest? otto declines, not like he'd be able to sleep at the moment anyway. they lean over a comouter (peter would fuss until he sat down), looking for news reports like peter did the first time round, to see any evidence of the others coming through while they wait for strange to get back.

i can peter getting really upset for otto, feeling guilty because this whole mess was his fault in the first place. he's tearfully babling apologies and otto feels any anger he has toward the boy slip away. he's reminded how young pete is and how over-his-head this stuff is for him too.

(and yes, peter would need it spelling out for him because he was totally oblivious to the atmosphere between norman and otto lol. both mj and may spotted that shit a mile away.)

Strange is an absolute clown about it. He's more focused on ensuring that he gets Otto and the rest of the potential universal interlopers back to where they belong than recognizing his spell failing is why they're there in the first place/Otto's baby may develop abilities.

Peter trying to appeal to Otto through the baby absolutely sends me! Trying to remind him that stressing out like that is probably bad for both of them, insisting that Strange will probably be back soon and that he may have more information about what's going on, etc. Otto is basically ignoring Peter because he's so worried about Norman. If Norman was sent to this universe, does he remember Peter or Strange or what happened at all? Is he just going to be wandering the city, asking about his company or his son in a world where none of that exists? Would he even want to know where Otto is? I'm imagining that, right before he went to work to be thrown into the portal, he said some mean shit to Norman. Stuff about him not needing to treat him like a child just because his son doesn't need him or something equally cruel (because both of them can be pretty terrible to one another when they feel compelled). The guilt and worry is eating at him, and it's barely serving as a distraction from the anxiety he feels about the baby.

He takes to just pacing around the cell, thinking about the possibilities for the baby. Was Strange just talking about "superhuman abilities" as a way of covering up some damage that may have happened to the baby as a result of the portal? All your thoughts on that are amazing; he's preparing himself for the possibility of having to stay in this world for however many months until it was safe for him and his baby to return. But then he feels even worse - what if he goes back and he's returned to the moment he was pulled through? What would happen to the baby then?

Otto looks like absolute garbage when Peter lets him out of the cell and he tries to insist on him resting, for his sake and the baby's, but Otto isn't having it. He feels like crap and knows sleep would be impossible when he's wired up how he is, so he just wants to work to try and sort this mess out. He joined Peter at the computer, only letting the boy stand over his shoulder because Peter is adamant that Otto take the chair. They spend a lot of time scowering the Internet for information on potential anomalies; there’s a point where Peter ends up ordering food to the sanctum after he hears Otto’s stomach growling despite the man’s best attempts to deny it.

Peter manages to get Otto to eat when he sees how guilty Peter still feels about what’s happened. He knows that the boy meant well and while he wants to stay angry about all this, he doesn’t have it in him to be angry at him. They slowly become closer and calmer together, eating quietly in Strange’s basement and searching for potential outside universe appearances. I’d like to think that they find someone else from the Sinister Six before they find Norman, if only for the drama. >:-)

I adore that idea too. I love others seeing the relationship and others being totally oblivious. I’m also picturing MJ and Ned storming Strange’s place as the spell wears off and they remember the truth of what happened and want to be there for Peter again.

22. What do you think are your roleplaying strengths and weaknesses?

In no particular order, I’ll list what I think my strengths and weaknesses are:

Strengths:

- Experience. Not just in writing and roleplaying itself, but handling conflicts and issues with muns/the RPC as they’ve come up. I’m basically too old to fight with people about fictional characters and care far more about my RP partners having fun with our threads. If a reply/thread/dynamic isn’t working for you? I’m much more likely to want to talk it out with you or start something new instead of complain. RP drama isn’t worth getting upset over.

- Give me a prompt and I can write a novel. Yes, some prompts/interactions do leave me stumped because my muse(s) may not be as close to yours or we may just have different writing styles, but usually I can come up with something for my partner to reply to.

- Patience. Do you have stuff going on offline or just don’t feel like writing today? You don’t need to apologize to me about it, don’t worry. I get it. I’m a little more concerned if you’re writing with most/all of your mutuals except me, but if you have a hiatus or just a rough day/week/month/etc? Seriously, I don’t mind: take the time! I’d rather have you wanting to write with me instead of pushing through.

- Quality over quantity. You’re never going to see me take on more asks and threads than I can handle, and then deciding to jump to a new blog to start over, get too many asks, rinse and repeat. That’s just not my style. Now, there’s some prompts that I literally have no idea how to respond to and I will delete those, but I’ll never be someone who needs to have something constantly in my inbox. 

- If you have an obscure muse from an older anime (aka. series that are pre-2000s), I may very well know the muse/the series. A lot of my favorite anime franchises are older series!

- When I choose to follow a blog, the first thing I look for is the IC writing on it. I don’t care much about your graphics, your icons, aesthetics, and to a degree, who you already write with on here (Though finding new mutuals through current mutuals has brought me some wonderful friends, I’ll admit!). I care about how you write your muse: writing style, post frequency, types of interactions you’ve got going already, etc. That’s going to be the number one thing that makes me hit the follow button. 

Weaknesses:

- I can get very focused into my thread replies or other aspects of my RP ‘to-do’ list. While I like to keep to a schedule and make sure my writing partners aren’t waiting too long to continue threads, if I feel like I’m maxed out on creativity with the current threads I have, I’m much less likely to send asks/like starter calls for new threads.

However, if you’re sharing OOC/headcanon/very short interaction memes or dashcomm? I’m much more likely to jump in on that when I’m catching up on my current threads and IC asks.

- Going along with the above: I don’t get into OOC chitchat (unless it’s plotting) when I’m focused on writing. Trust me, it’s not that I don’t want to talk to you at all when you message me with OOC conversation and I don’t reply right away. But if I’m around, I may just be deep into a particular thread or reply and it’s frustrating for me to not finish it. I’m terrible at keeping up OOC conversations while trying to write IC at the same time.

I apologize for not being the chattiest person most of the time. Often, I’m just not sure what to say unless I’ve found something that applies to our muses. But I’d really like to do better where this is concerned!

- I’m uncomfortable, and therefore awful, about sending unprompted or random IC asks. This is a personal preference: I can find random thread prompts to be stressful when I’m already working on a bunch of thread replies, but I also understand that many of my mutuals don’t agree with this line of thinking and that getting random asks may make them feel more welcome and engaged here on tumblr.

Now, I just need to get over thinking “I hope this IC ask doesn’t sound stupid/they actually want to answer this.” I also find sending NSFW asks a bit awkward unless we have muses who are sexually active with each other, so again, it’s not that I don’t like you if I don’t participate in those memes: it’s just awkward and uncomfortable for me. To me, it feels like I could be forceshipping a ship on someone if I’m asking about a muse’s sexual preferences if my muse isn’t already in a ship or planned ship with them.

- I’m particular/specific/picky about the type of RP I want to do on here. More or less, I know what sort of RP makes me happy and inspired to write, which is the whole reason why I’ve got an RP blog in the first place. Namely, I’m looking to write with fellow writers comfortable and eager to write multi-para and/or novella threads, long-term interactions (and ships, for that matter), who are okay with leaving one liner/one paragraph RP to additional dashcomm if we feel like it. 

I just get bored/uninspired with one-liner/short RP threads as the main interactions/story with other blogs. For crack and random, established interactions? Love it, but not as the bulk of my threads.

- I can write. A lot. I can ramble to the point of drabbles...a lot. Especially with Sonia and this particular blog, I have a ton of headcanons, history, lore, NPCs, you name it, and I love throwing them into various threads and interactions where it makes sense. But this can be draining, boring, or possibly even godmodding, and I apologize for that. Please, please rein me in if it’s too much. I don’t mind!

23. Is roleplaying more of a job or a hobby to you?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer:

I think it’s a bit of both. It can become a bit of a job due to how much I run my account with a marketing mindset: I want to post consistently, at expected times of the day, during which most of my mutuals will be online and interacting. I live and die by the queue, and don’t do too much spontaneous threading outside of dashcomm/sillier memes and asks. It can also feel like a job when I just don’t have any ideas for either asks to send or how to answer an ask or thread. I need to remind myself I’m not being paid to do this and that it’s okay to step away for awhile!

But I do worry about mutuals thinking I’m avoiding/disliking them by not sending or replying to every prompt, and quickly. I’ve noticed that part of the RPC is very much about instant gratification when it comes to answering asks, thread replies, etc. and I prefer to take my time. I tend to think replies in 48 hours or less is very quick/almost too fast, but for others in the RPC this can seem like a lifetime. 

It’s more of a hobby when I really feel engaged in the threads I’m writing. That’s not a slight against someone over others, either. With RP, I’ve found that you just click with some muns more than others: maybe the characters play well off each other, maybe each other’s writing styles really work together well, and/or the muns have an easygoing rapport OOC to plot, chat, etc. If you’re lucky, you get all three!

I’m not a multi (by choice!), so there’s always going to be muses and writing styles that just give me more inspiration for interactions with Sonia than others. It just is what it is. That said, I do try to challenge myself by writing with a lot of different muses and fandoms/franchises: it helps me from getting stuck in a writing rut.

PSA - How to Start

The Quick Guide To Interacting (Even If You’re Anxious)

My biggest piece of advice to RPer’s both new and old is don’t be afraid to reach out and talk to others first.

I have seen a lot of blogs come and go, and a lot of people expressing frustration about how they don’t get enough interaction, or how people never send them asks, or reply to their starters. The get disheartened, and many people stop writing as a result. And my thought is always the same:

Did you send an ask? Did you reply to an open starter? Did you make any attempt to interact with them or are you both just sitting on your thumbs um-ing and ah-ing and waiting for someone else to decide to message you first?

I don’t intend for this to sound mean at all, I understand that some people can be anxious (I certainly can be), but I also genuinely believe that a lot of anxiety is sprung from the lack of open communication. When I first started out I was one of the people who kind of just… posted a lot and hoped my followers would start sending stuff? And that didn’t happen. It made me feel really shitty and I lost a lot of confidence in myself and my writing. And that was wrong, both as a thought process and as an overarching mentality. My writing isn’t bad, my characterization isn’t bad, and I’m not a bad person. The only issue was that someone at some point needs to take the first step and say hello!

So! How do you say hello?

Step 1: See an ask meme on someones blog that you really want to befriend them, send them one or two questions! Read their answer! And then (and here’s the tricky part) leave a little comment in the replies of that post to tell them what part of their reply you liked, you can even leave a little IC reply of your muse reacting to something. - Now you’ve broken the ice! The mun knows who you are (and if you are mutuals) and will probably be pretty grateful that you sent an ask! You can now send more, and they might even send you a few back! Now you’re interacting!

(Note: If they haven’t posted a meme in a while, you can scroll back through their blog and find one, or think up one of your own - send in the QUESTION, not the icon. Treat it as a stand alone. People love writing about their muses, so you just need to create the opportunity for them to do so!)

Step 2: Now that you’re interacting, you can try to send an IC ask (You can do this in step 1 too, but if you’re more shy you can wait for step 2!) - whether its from a meme or not. Starting from a question means that you are already in the middle of a conversation with the muses, and it helps to make things flow more smoothly. Don’t be stressed if the thread dies after a reply or two - it’s not meant to last forever, that’s okay! It’s meant to allow the two of you to get a feel of each other and your writing styles. Have fun with it!

Step 3: Send an IM. This might feel like the biggest step, but do not worry. A compliment, I find, is the kindest and nicest way to introduce yourself ooc. I know that I for one am always very flattered if someone takes the time to find something about my recent reply/writing/characterization/hcs and share that with me. A little ‘Hello! I laughed so much at xxxx line you wrote’ or ‘I love your hc on xxxx!’ is such a nice message to get. Being nice is the best way to make friends and it can lead to more RP in the future.

Note: If you don’t ‘click’ don’t worry. You’re not always going to be best friends with everyone. Leave it be. That doesn’t mean that they don’t appreciate your asks, and won’t send you some, and it doesn’t mean that you can never write together. It just means that you don’t have perfect chemistry. If you don’t click it is still a very nice idea to send people memes and questions when they appear on your dash. The community thrives off of participation! So participate and you’ll find the good karma comes around.

Furthermore, don’t be dissuaded by seeing others interact with their friends on the dashboard. Some people have been writing together for years, and its presumptuous to assume you will have the same friendship in only a few days. It’s not elitist for someone to have fun with their own bestie.

And sometimes you just don’t get along with someone at all. The chemistry isn’t there. It doesn’t mean either of you are bad people or that your writing is bad - it just means you aren’t compatible. Let it go. You’ll find your people.

A final disclaimer: read peoples rules and blogs - they are there to help facilitate interaction!

If there’s a rule saying ‘I only write with mutuals’, then wait to become a mutual to send or request something IC. If there’s a rule saying ‘I don’t write XYZ’ then don’t send an ask about XYZ.

And read their blogs because they might have a list of open starters, a wishlist, or even a plot generator pre-prepared! Use this to your advantage - they are telling you want they are interested in writing! That’s a huge hint :D

(( I think I haven’t made an official post on this blog yet, so here it is! ))

((As you might have noticed, I’ve started to pop back both on here and on my main and to write replies too. So, yes, I’m finally back from my semi-hiatus, even if my activity will stay far less consistent than it used to be. The next six months are gonna be crucial for me, so I need to keep my focus on uni. Moreover, I’ve started to used a bigger part of my free time to do other stuff (mostly going back to solo writing and picking up the pieces of my life. Sarcastic yay, for the latter). This meas that I have less time for RPing, so here’s a couple of minor changes: ))

ALL answers will be queued, unless otherwise agreed with the other mun (come talk to me about it if you want, but I’m gonna be selective in this sense...see bullet below)

So far I’ve always tried to answer threads more or less chronologically, but that’s gonna change too. While I’ll try not to make anyone wait too long, I’ll let inspiration pick which replies I wanna do first from now on. Don’t take it personally, I really need to turn the batter save on and that means that I gotta try to avoid forcing myself into doing stuff if I can avoid it

Also, as a consequence, shorter replies will take less to be answered than longer ones (for obvious reasons)

I’m once again accepting new threads, but I’ll be selective and I most likely won’t do more than three threads at a time with the same person

New followers / not-mutuals, hit me up if you want to write with me and we can see if we’re compatible! I’m always eager to meet new peeps, even if my socially awkward dumb ass makes it look like I’n not >.>

(( On a more personal note, my latest experiences had me got tired of lack of communication between RP partners. This will also keep me more motivated to answer to our stuff, among the other things. ))

22 plus a small handful on ff.net that I still intend to move over to AO3.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

30,445!  I’m surprised it’s that much considering how short most of those stories are. (And it’s a little deceptive since it doesn’t include the 80k monstrosity that is Ryou and the Thief. That one’s probably going to stay on ff.net though.)

3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Those Things He Keeps for Himself (Total agreement. Personally I think this is the best thing I’ve written so far.)

4. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do try to respond to everything! I so appreciate when other authors respond to me and do my best to return that good good energy. Also I genuinely like chatting with people (especially about something I wrote lol) even if I get overwhelmed sometimes and can be slow ^^; 

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

This is a tough one cause when I start a story, it’s usually with the goal of giving the characters a happy end but it’s probably Coffee and Cigarettes. It was for a pairings competition where the random pairing was Mana/TK Bakura and I gave them a weird little break in the middle of canon where they both know what’s about to happen and it just came out sad.  NO WAIT I’M WRONG. Lol I just gave my story list another look and it’s definitely Crazy for You! That was an insane asylum AU that’s ABOUT everything going straight to shit.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Oh goodness, almost all of them! I love a happy ending. Like, the story doesn’t have to be all fluff, it can have an impossible looking problem or be about two people who just don’t go well together but I love a good, satisfying resolution. Most recent happy ending is No Betting, just a bit of adorable, domestic, peachshipping fluff. Favorite happy end is probably A Million Missed Chances, Mai/Valon. I feel like Mai is a challenging character to give a happy ending to. She’s just stubborn like that <3

7. Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?

So, I haven’t written a crossover yet by myself but @miss-moberg and I will often throw around ideas for ones where we will use YGO characters or parts of the world building or magic system to fix things we don’t like in other canons. Right now we have a RP that’s a BNHA/YGO crossover where… oh, spoilers for BNHA: instead of going crazy and faking his own death, Toya grabs both his brothers and just fucking leaves. They run away to Domino, get picked up by Ryou and Akeifa (TK Bakura) and it quickly becomes the found family story I didn’t know I needed. We do some wild things blending the two canons. Domino is this little pocket where shadow magic keeps the hero and villain nonsense out and the citizens are pretty ok with it. Yugi and Atem are the city’s guardians. Ryou and Akeifa are not allowed to use shadow magic though they have access to it. I think Ryou and Yugi had proper quirks that they sacrificed to the shadows at some point, each for something different thing that they wanted or needed. Oh! We have quirks being derived from shadow magic at some point in the distant past and the shadows are always happy to take a quirk back to fulfill a wish or desire. They’re tricky though and usually corrupting. Very classic fairytale where it’s a thing you don’t want to make a deal with. Seto is quirkless and basically runs the city behind the scenes. He can’t deny the existence of heroes and villains but still refuses to believe in magic. This always gives Atem a headache when they have to coordinate to protect the city. Which is often.

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

A couple criticisms but no outright hate I don’t think. Or if I have it was so long ago I don’t remember. I was on ff.net at the worst times too and somehow all the hate just passed me by.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I love smut so much but I rarely write it. For stories I just usually end up with one or two erotic sentences. RPs are the exceptions to that though and are where all the good stuff happens. >.>

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope. Haven’t had one stolen, haven’t had one taken down. I’ve stayed small enough to fly under the radar for both things luckily enough!

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I wish! Man that would be amazing <3

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! Ryou and the Thief is a cleaned up version of @miss-moberg and my very first RP. (And the only RP of ours to ever hit an actual ending.)

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Puzzle with Gemshipping very close behind though I ship many, many things.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Phoenix. It was one of my very first fanfics started almost 15 years ago and while I’d love to finish everything, that one’s just not going to happen. It’s been too long and I’ve grown way too much as a writer to go back to it now.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I think it’s dialogue. And maybe the ability to be amusing. Not funny-funny but like, lightly humorous when setting scenes or winding up to something.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

RUN ON SENTENCES. Sometimes they get away from me a bit XD

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Haaaa, actually when I first started writing fanfic I would throw in Japanese phrases and honorifics and looking back, it’s pretty cringe. BUT I can appreciate it as it was originally intended: learning and practicing a new language. If it makes sense for the character or situation though it’s really cute, like in Allargando by Slaycinder where Atem uses Arabic endearments for Seto. (Have I gushed about that fic on my blog yet? It’s so good.) Ancient Egyptian is the exception to everything I just said. I absolutely LOVE when someone takes a stab at putting ancient Egyptian in their fic. I go a little feral for it and it was the hardest but the most fulfilling thing about writing Ryou and the Thief was doing all the research write actual AE dialogue for Akeifa early in the fic.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Yu-Gi-Oh. I’ve done a handful of things for other fandoms but Ygo is the one I keep coming back to and definitely the one I’ve written the vast majority for.

19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Oh no this is hard! They’re all my babies and I love them! Probably my favorites have been listed in previous questions already. Ryou and the Thief because of the sheer amount of work that went into it and the fact that we ran the boys through a whole ass adventure, Coffee and Cigarettes because it’s such a fun, quirky little thing with a great atmosphere and Those Things He Keeps For Himself because I feel like I was able to really capture the idea in my head effectively and there’s some great imagery in it.
