As much as I love the growl in Sukuna's voice, or the anger and wrath and general mania in his laugh, now that I think about it... the way he speaks in such old terms... the way he brings poetry into his words with double meanings lacing every thought... "The moonlights illumination"...

His voice truly is like crystallised honey. It's sweet, in a way. Too much as if it's ready to rot you. Rot your bones. Rot your flesh. Crystallised honey that has aged too much and is ready to cut your tongue and grit between your teeth in a way that makes you cringe. Sharp honey and something attracting pests in a way no one comprehends.

Maybe with how old he is, how much history is grounding his existence, I would dare suggest moulded honey too. A rare occurrence, something that takes a lot of time. Something people do not celebrate and opt to throw away thought it's honey nonetheless. Sweet and rich and taunting.

no but really, I think it fits him really well! I had thought his UM would probably involve something kinda sleight-of-handy or pickpockety! and I looooved that it made such a nice loop-around back to episode 1. ❤️ I was. kind of half-expecting him to just run out and punch Riddle in the nose again. but instead this time 'twas he who offed the queen's head! it was great! and he did it while stone-cold terrified out of his mind! because Ace is the only remotely normal or well-adjusted person at NRC and therefore the only one who is like "we're going to literally die, this is super effed up". but he did it anyway!!!! I AM SO PROUD

#ask #non mdzs #My health journey has been: Hernia -> acid reflux -> Vocal pain due to aforementioned reflux -> chest infection.#I'm terrified to know what's about to hit me next. Please let it be something kind. PLEASE.#The consequence of living with linguists is that you'll wake up with a wacked up voice -#suddenly you're sitting you down in front of a program called something like Praat having your shimmer and jitter levels calibrated.#They gave me a GRBAS of 33012. I have a fun thing called a pitch break where a whole octave just does not exist.#My vocal pain was bad enough I ended up seeing a speech pathologist and that whole experience was super neat!#I learnt a lot about voice - to be honest I might make a little comic on it after some more research. Fascinating stuff.#For example; your mental perception of our voice modulates the muscles of the vocal folds and larynx.#meaning that when you do have changes (inflammation = more mass = lower frequency)#your brain automatically attempts to correct it to what it 'should sound like'. Leading to a lot more vocal strain and damage!#And it gets really interesting for trans voice care as well - because the mental perception of one's voice isn't based on an existing sampl #So a good chunk of trans voice training is also done with the idea of finding one's voice and retraining the brain to accept it. Neat!#Parkinsonial Voice also has this perception to musculature link! The perception is that they are talking at a loud/normal volume #but the actual voice is quite breathy and weak. So vocal training works on practicing putting more effort into the voice #and retraining the brain to accept the 'loud' voice as 'normal'.#Isn't the human body fascinating?#Anyhow; Now I have vocal exercises and strategies to reduce strain and promote healing.#Which is a lot better than my previous strategy of yelling AAAH in my car until my 'voice smoothed out'.#You can imagine the horror on the speech path's face. I am an informed creature now.#I'm my own little lab rat now. I love learning and researching. Welcome to my tag lab. going through some old logs, and I need you to understand just how truly unhinged early 2010s RP omegle was.

genuinely you could stay on there for hours with just one person, hashing out complex traumatic backstories, drawn-out love confessions, detailed action scenes...collaboratively describing graphic violence, past abuse, comfort, hurt/comfort, hurt/no comfort, any number of sex acts...and then one of you would be like, "oh haha it's 2AM! I have to sleep :(" and the other person would say, "omg saaaame. :( gnight!!!" and then you'd exit the chat and never speak to each other again, and this was. fine.

you could just spend an entire evening shoving your wretched, bleeding soul into a chat log with someone you'd never meet or learn the name of, achieve some form of emotional catharsis, and then go about your day or night like this was an average way to spend your time.

I'm really normal about this, actually

#sbs rambles #omegle #it wasn't always serious ofc. there was a lot of lighthearded silliness #but I usually went in for the darker sadder stuff that built up to a happy ending #there's really a special form of intimacy when you and an internet stranger are each controlling a fictional character #and describing them doing things like bandaging each other's wounds #checking each other for bruises. asking them to talk about what they've been through. great stuff!#I hope there are still places where people do stuff like this. like I know there are forums and servers for this but that's not the same.#and I mean. You mentioned a while back about roses hibernating in the winter. How does that work in society? Does everyone just go to bed and sleep for a few months? What do lapis and George do in the meantime while the rest of the cast take a nap? What about the dragons in the winter? Wouldn’t it be a good opportunity to attack sleeping roses? Or do the bugs somehow prevent that?

Yes! After the end of Knight's seasonal holiday, almost every Rose (both in cities and in wilder communities) go to bed and sleep until spring starts. Anybody who isn't a Rose might be more lethargic and sleepy than normal, but they're awake and basically have the whole world to themselves during the winter season Lapis and George do a lot of things during winter; mostly exploring and hanging out with all the Dragons, Green Roses and others who are still awake in the city. The Spiders make sure they're never bored for longer than a day or two! And ah-HA! You are absolutely right- winter would technically be the perfect time for all the Dragons to attack while the Roses are sleeping deeply. However:

Most Dragons aren't stupid enough to risk getting into a fight with a Necroknight. Let alone a dozen of them at once when they think you're a threat they must obliterate off the face of the earth.

Better just leave the city alone and let them get on with their undead life! Like nature intended!
