JJK 271: The death of Ryomen Sukuna
As a Sukuna fan, this chapter was everything I could ask for. Such a beautiful end for such an interesting antagonist. Okay coming back to the chapter, more specifically to Sukuna and Mahito conversation, we see Sukuna admitting that he had different paths he could have travelled, two to be more precise: one being with Uraume and one with a mysterious black hair figure who is dressed as a shrine maiden, so the question here is who is this mystery person...it's definitely not Yorozu since Yorozu has never dressed this modestly and I don't think this is Sukuna's mom either...so who is this???
I believe this is Kenjaku when he first approached Sukuna in the Heian era.
Tumblr media
We previously had a panel of Sukuna's mummified body dressed as a monk by Tengen in the manga...so Sukuna might have grown up in a religious setting, and what better way to get close to him than approaching him as a miko or a shrine maiden.
Tumblr media
But that's beside the point. The point here is Sukuna talking about the two paths he could have chosen, and he ends up choosing Kenjaku. He allows Kenjaku to make him as a curse object, allows Kenjaku to make a vessel for him to reside into, allows Kenjaku to rope him into the culling games, and even allows Kenjaku to trust him with Tengen and the merger. But the sukuna who chose this path was an angry version of him, the curse version of him if you will. He wanted to spit back the curses that were residing him, so full of anger anger anger hate hate hate. Even at his death bed his only response to kindness was "don't underestimate me, I'm a curse". So this version of Sukuna choosing Kenjaku over Uraume was no surprise.
But what changed then????....well.....HE LOST
He lost, not to Gojo or Yuta or Yuji or the serveral dozen sorcerers who jumped him, in the end he lost to MEGUMI FUSHIGURO. In ch 268 we see Sukuna trying to manipulate Megumi to give him all the control, to give up and leave it to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This curse version of Sukuna who doesn't know anything except cursing others back, recounting all the deaths Megumi caused to him, telling Megumi how he can't live a proper life anymore....somehow somewhere it feels like he is trying to delude himself too by saying after all the atrocities he caused in 1000 years there is no use fighting back, no use in living a proper life anymore. And this Sukuna has never lived for anyone except himself so it's easier to curse the world back, easier to give up all the control and just cause panic and doom and death.
But Megumi is not just living for himself, he lives for Tsumiki, for Yuuji, he can't doom the entire world when the world has people like Tsumiki and Yuuji in it and so he fights, he refutes the notion of proper life and says he wanna try living for someone else one more time.
Tumblr media
All this could not have been done without Yuuji Itadori of course, Yuuji Itadori who came as a guardian angel to Megumi Fushiguro, who never gave up on Megumi once, who showed Megumi how to live one more time.
Tumblr media
Not only that Yuuji Itadori showed Sukuna, the king of curses, the one person who kept cursing and ruining his life again and again, pity. Yuuji who was cursed by several people in his life, his grandpa, Nanami, Junpei, Mahito, Gojo, Choso, Nobara and Sukuna himself, still able to live his life without cursing others back, still able to live his life with compassion. And Sukuna reaction to it is understandable: rage. Because Yuuji is everything that his chosen path won't let him be, Yuuji is everything that that Sukuna could have been if only he hadn't chosen the path with Kenjaku...if only...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So after Sukuna who has lost everything and there is nothing more for him to lose, he decides to choose a different path, he chooses Uraume. And just like Megumi who decides to live for someone else (Yuuji) when given the second chance, Sukuna chooses to live for Uraume this time. He acknowledges his defeat with grace, does not condemn the path he chose the first time but instead he is regretful which is so raw and unfiltered coming from Sukuna, and moves on North this time with Uraume. This time Sukuna chooses Uraume instead of Uraume choosing Sukuna and serving him.
Tumblr media
And with this the story of Ryomen Sukuna comes to an end. We never got his backstory, we never even got his real name because he never looked back behind him to acknowledge those measly things. To say in short, this is the death of the King of Curses who was just living to cause death and destruction around him and rebirth of someone entirely new.

Unpopular opinions but from what I've seen around since ppl predicting his death, most of Choso's fans still got so hung up on that 2 panels of Yuki's last words in the past that they perhaps skipped the fact that neither Choso, Yuuji, nor everyone afterward nor the narrative until this very chapter ever touched on the subject whether Choso is a human or a curse even matters, it's just figurative speech back then to justify that Choso deserved to live beside Yuuji, as long as the latter allowed, which Yuuji did.
Tumblr media
Most of the arguments I saw was that if Choso died then Yuki's sacrifice was for nothing. Imo that's more of a 'You' problem, depending on how one wants to interpret it. This 'black and white' separation is clearly just more important for the fans but actually not so much in the narrative for the arcs afterward.
Let's be more objective with what happened after chapter 208 and it's the fact that we never saw Choso or anyone ever hinted a scene afterward whether that statement (of his identity) is important anymore beyond that arc as Choso never referred to himself as either or shown that he was in any dilemma anymore due to it. Or that his still being a half-curse standing between the sorcerers ever became a problem or caused a rift amongst them. Readers should start admitting that literally no one in JJK after chapter 208 ever brought that topic again of what Choso is or cares about it. Choso was given the chance (and also a confident boost) to be with Yuuji and Yuuji allowed it so he took that. For others, the only thing that matters to them is that he's siding with Yuji and thus with them. The next thing we knew, the narrator referred to him as one of the sorcerers. We saw him smiling and standing naturally among the entourage who cheered for Gojo's last battle, the guy he tried to kill before. Other characters refer to him as just 'Choso'. Choso only cares that he is Yuuji's big brother that needs to protect him, not what he is now that he sided with the sorcerers. Yuuji himself is also a half-curse now so that's the more reason for Choso not to care abt what he is, not when his last little brother is finally the same as him.
Even in this chapter when Choso said 'I need to apologize to Tsukumo too', there's still no flashback to that 1 scene because it was preceded by Yuuji reminding him that it's not an enough reason for him to disappear after Yuuji became strong and is immediately followed by, 'Yuuji, I'm sorry for leaving you again'.
Tumblr media
To me this is more referring to Yuki's words at the bar when she said "but if you die, he'll be alone again" and the fact that Yuki died so Choso could have more time with Yuuji but now he indeed had to leave Yuuji again, rather than about whether he had lived on as a human or not. I personally believed he already did, though, if that really matters, but to Choso now what he is isn't more important than the fact that he, as Yuuji's big brother, is now leaving him alone.
Tumblr media
Feel free to argue w/ me abt this but the fact remains that after saying sorry for leaving to Yuuji, it is immediately followed by panel of Eso and Kechizu reappearance calling after their big brother to join them on their side again, now it's in the their original form again, the cursed object.
Tumblr media
For me personally, Yuki's death was not in vain as Choso had time to pass down his legacy to Yuuji before joining Eso and Kechizu's side again, but if people wanna see that Yuki's death only amounted to ripping Kenjaku's shirt open now that Choso still died, then be my guess. (Besides, Yuki isn't the first side character in JJK that gets this treatment of not having much importance, after her role is finished. Even though she was being mentioned a couple times for her research and even here in this chapter, but not even one flashback to her might be a sign that Gege doesn't hold her high in their list of priority, but hey it's JJK so it's not news.) It is important to also note (and I think this one is where most readers perhaps skipped) that back then, Choso didn't have much to say or choice for the sacrifice cz Yuki's CT was already transferring Choso to a safety place, before he himself could choose, say, or do anything.
Tumblr media
Yet this time he chose to threw his life on the line for Yuuji. It wasn't even the 1st time he did this. We saw this back from his fight with Naoya (before chapter 208) and he wasn't acting any different until now, after passing chapter 208 👆
When the others got hurt one by one during the fight, Choso might've healed himself but we didn't see him come back to distract Sukuna from chasing after the others or took the blow for them, but we saw him immediately come back to Yuuji's side when Yuuji cudn't handle his wound and then of course we saw him protecting Yuuji with all his last efforts. He's just persistently living up to his big brother character, not whether he's a human. He would do the same if it's Eso or Kechizu in Yuuji's place.
So here's the highlight, even after this far, Choso isn't self-sacrificial for all humans like how other sorcerers showed. He's only self-sacrificial for Yuuji and the other little brothers that are now merged in him, because for him, he's a big brother above all else.
TLDR Choso's arc was set from the beginning that he lives only for his little brothers and that is the meaning of his life. It is one of his first lines when he appeared. What Choso ever wanted wasn't to be human or curse, but to be worthy of living with his little brothers and then of being Yuuji's big brother after what he did in Shibuya and to Yuuji. Doesn't matter whether he's a human or curse because he will always be both and that is not a bad thing. In fact the very presence of him and Yuuji as half-curses till this arc is special because he represents that grey area between human and curse, that not one is the more right than the other which is also one of the very theme of jjk.

You know, sometimes I'm reminded that manga/anime is still a very piracy/fansub/scanlation heavy subculture in my country because there's simply no legal way to watch or read any of it unless you speak English. And that's a very high barrier of entry for a lot of people. "Well get with the times duh English is the world language" you might say, but being a teen and getting to a level of proficiency in a foreign language to get into anime to begin with is generally not up to you. A lot of kids, hell, even a lot of adults don't even get the chance to learn foreign languages on the level where engaging in media in that language would be enjoyable.
Like. Crunchyroll doesn't do Hungarian subs. Netflix does sometimes, but the quality is hit or miss and they are not consistent about what shows get subs and what don't (DunMeshi has subs and so does BNA, but Mob Psycho 100, Hunter x Hunter, Spy x Family or JJK don't despite being big and popular titles) and dubs are almost completely gone. I don't even know what anime are dubbed anymore, if any and they can't or won't get the license for any of the stuff that was dubbed prior.
Like, YuYu Hakusho had a very good dub for its time but it's only available with a very mediocre sub. FMA and FMA:B both had very high quality dubs and subs - they very specifically invested in getting experienced, good VAs and consulted with the creating studios so they could get proper direction, they pulled out all stops to make it good - and the dubbed versions are almost lost media level of gone because someone tried to release them on official DVD, so all the sites removed the downloads so people would support the official release - and then that release died 8 episodes in and never continued.
Sometimes people are a little surprised about how chill I am about piracy (I have a German friend we fundamentally disagree with on this, because she's of the Any Piracy Is Reprehensible And Wrong stance) but if it wasn't for that then so many things that I enjoy and found myself a fan of would never have been available to me at all, because even to this day there's no legal way to ever acquire them in this here backwater little country. And that's kinda sad, but it's just the way things are, I guess.

Hey Ray, how are you? I've read about your flu recently. I'm very sorry and I hope you get better soon. Have a fast recovery, ok?
Regarding confessions, I have nothing much to say. I think other anons already mentioned lots of valid points. Sure- porn fics are obv exaggerated, characters get mischaracterized and ships get pushed down out throats all the time but hey, that's just an average fandom experience, right?
So I'm trying to ignore/filter all the negativity and allow only good, quality content on my dash. Unfortunately, the content is few and not many appreciate writers and artists here on Tumblr. So it's for the best if they'd just change platforms and try their luck somewhere else that offers more positive interaction/involvement. I miss Tumblr reblog culture and nice feedback on dif stories/art. Nothing is the same anymore...
Regarding mischaracterization- it's not a problem to headcanon things, in fact, to each their own. But it's a problem when people openly accept headcanon as canon and unapologetically fight others over inaccurate opinions. It's so beyond me. And the funniest thing- it's mostly minors. Can we get rid of the minors in for-them-inappropriate fandom spaces pls? Tumblr staff where you at?
I noticed that fans of less popular characters are more fun. I'm not that big into Choso you see, but his fans made the whole fandom experience so much more enjoyable. And I don't think that Mahito fans are weird if you compare Toji smut fics (I'm not calling out people but I'm calling out people). Sukuna fans I'm looking at you too...
I'm forever grateful for Nanami, Higuruma, Kusakabe and Shiu quartet. Gege, thank you for feeding us while it lasted. The fics are divine and I understand why Shoko didn't see the appeal in stsg, like girl I get you.
I'll come out and say it- stsg is overrated. And jjk girls deserve more content that isn't ship-oriented.
I think Gege needs to make up his mind because Yuta and Yuji can't exist as two mains at once. Everyone is taking away Yuji's spotlight, but they're dying and dying until nobody's left except Yuji... I don't know how jjk will end.
I miss Yuki and Todo's dynamic and all the funny stuff, I wish jjk was a comedy fr... Gege is writing an idol manga after this one so I can't wait for the things he has in store for us!
Hello! Thank you for your concern about my cold. Honestly, with all of you wishing me to get better, I'm recovering a little faster! 💜💜💜
I agree with mischaracterization, but imo, unless a mangaka explicitly states something, then a fictional character is always subject to having HC's being formed about them depending on the writer. What gets problematic though, is when fans of a writer start looking at those HC's as an actual canon, and now they're picking fights/sending hate to other creators who have different opinions.
Fans of less popular characters tend to be more chill from what I've seen. They just want to talk about their faves and have a good time, and are less bothered with what could be canon or not. They have their HC's and are open to hearing different ones too.
I feel like JJK gave us this genre of 'tired men in suits' which is very appealing, even to us older girlies who are in the same age range as these men.
Stsg being overrated...imo I don't feel that way. I think they had great potential as a couple and I'm filled with sadness at the thought that they didn't catch Suguru's spiral when it happened. I can see them with heterosexual partners too, but I love the concept of Stsg.
The JJK women definitely need content not surrounding ships or smut. Something more action-related or just let her shine in her own right in a fic.
IDK what'll happen going forward...The story is supposed to center on Yuji but it feels like he's constantly being pushed aside. I hope things resolve soon but it looks like Sukuna might win after all this. I'm just sad thinking about it.
I miss the slice of life feel to the story as well but what can ya do...Gege is the mangaka, so he'll do what he wants. But if he brings back Nanami I ain't complaining lol.
Thank you for your confession!

Answering an ask that contains JJK manga spoilers
⚠️ JJK manga spoilers below ⚠️
Anonymous said:
1. The theory of Gojo having a rough childhood was actually cleared up by Gege during the Q&A interview in the Jump Giga Autumn 2022.
Q. Was Gojo treated kindly / lovingly as the head of the
Gojo family?
A. He was spoiled rotten.
☝🏻Really explains his bratty behaviour 😂
2. It was a really wholesome moment between Gojo & kid Megumi him telling Hana might fall in love with Megumi and rubbing the kid's head. (all the fan arts were right )
3. And you are right, when the shock value of Sukuna possessing Megumi dissipated , I couldn't take Sukuna seriously anymore with that emo haircut and Megumi's sea urchin hair gelled up back.(still sexy)
4. Kinda curious on how this Sukuna will play a part in the second part of Infidelity if there are plans on it.
5. Kashimo is interesting but dude has so many death flags for wanting to fight Sukuna .
6. And poor Hana & Yuko Ozawa who loves Megumi & Yuji for their personalities , they might have to witness both of their love interests dying and the boys doesn't even know about the girls' feelings.(btw Yuki x Choso was tragic)
7. And lastly we will see Gojo again sooner , i mean we saw the back of the PR held by Choso. Pretty sure it would be a " we won but at what cost "feeling when Gojo comes as things are not looking good for Gojo.
Tawus:
Wow. Wow! WOW! See, I'm gonna gush right here: since the start I've maintained that Gojo wasn't abused as a child. I was even going to write a shortfic about his childhood the way I envision it - in which he saw from his parents, elders, guardians, and servants: love, care, affection, guidance, compassion, generosity, and of course, their absolute spoiling of him. I've had both types of parents: violent/abusive and healthy/loving. And it's thanks to my healthy/loving parent that I got to see what non-toxic love and care is supposed to look like. If you've never received something, it's hard to know what it looks like. With Gojo, we can clearly see that he's a good guy. The way he cares and provides guidance and guardianship to all his students, starting with Megumi... With the absolute power he holds, if he was heavily abused as a child and never saw any love, I see him becoming a villain. A fantastic villain! But he's not. On the other hand, if he was just spoiled rotten and never saw any suffering, then he would have a hard time sympathising with the plight of others. But Gojo does. He has empathy, however imperfect. And I believe that this empathy was gained not through his own personal suffering as a child, but perhaps of the suffering he witnessed of his close childhood friend or someone near him at the time... These are all my speculations based on my own life experience and I was going to write a shortfic encompassing these, but I got put off from writing it due to the fandom's nearly collective agreement that he was abused... With Gege finally clearing it up, though, I'm glad to see I was on the right track. So thank you sm for sharing this with me! 💗
Agreed. I could gush all day and night over Gojo's relationship with Megumi ❤️
'sea urchin hair' lmaoo
Lol I'm curious too how this Sukuna thing will play out in the Infidelity sequel bc I absolutely did NOT expect that! Gege dropping bombs out here 😭
I'm so into Kashimo by now that istg, he better give up on fighting Sukuna and go live out his retirement in his shiny new body somewhere in the countryside 😭
Oh god I hope you're wrong! And god, Yuki x Choso was tragic
See, for all my above talk about Gojo not being a villain, my fucked up little heart that wrote Infidelity, secretly wishes for Gojo's reaction to all the deaths and losses once he comes out of the Realm to be to cause an apocalypse. Final manga panel: the whole world is burning. There are no more people, no more sorcerers, no more curses, no more students, no more suffering. The end ✨

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks....
Hohohoho, this list is going to be colourful.
Tumblr media
Favorite character in Demon Slayer but only after his backstory was revealed and he got to shine in the future season 4. He's a little crazy, has a cool design, a sad backstory and is absolutely loyal (to the people he doesn't hate). I actually have a fic planned about him (in the far future) where he gets turned into half a demon as a child.
Tumblr media
Kai Hiwatari from Beyblade, an oldie here. Cool design, cold personality, hidden depth, intriguing backstory. You won't believe how many fic I've read as a teen about his forgotten past in Russia where he had to grow up in an abusive abbey.
Tumblr media
Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken. Not because of her backstory obviously, that's barely existent, but because she's the character I learned all the movesets to. Even years later, every time I get to play the game, my muscle memory activates and I perform her best moves on the spot.
Tumblr media
Zack Fair from Crisis Core. I played that game in school between classes. Absolutely love him and his personality even though he's the opposite of the characters I normaly like. That's most likely because the world of FFVII:CC is already gloomy enough without an equally gloomy protagonist. Honorouble mention goes to Terra from KH:BBS.
Tumblr media
Texas form Red vs. Blue. I'm guessing that most people from the animanga community have no idea about RvB or only ever heard of it in passing while they watch RWBY. But the series (not the latest seasons or whatever goes on there) holds a special place in my heart. For everyone interested, this is the episode that got me hooked, featuring Texas and Monty Oum's animation, and this is the complete first season on Youtube (made with ingame graphics).
Tumblr media
Dr Bashir from ST:DS9. Is attractive, passionate, a little silly often times and has a tragic/intriguing backstory. I always love seening him on screen. Between TNG, VOY and DS9 he's my favorite with Data and Chakotey coming next.
Tumblr media
Nightwing (and Robin) from DC comics. I was a fan of Teen Titans, then of Young Justice, then of the comic books and now I have two stacks of graphic novels on the shelfs. I couldn't keep up with the comics anymore, but Nightwing is here to stay. Jason was the runner up.
Tumblr media
Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Yeah it's not a character but saying Shakti from the Dungeon doesn't mean much here. I was introduced to this game by my uncle while a kid and even in university I found my first friends by talking about this ancient game. Nearly didn't start writing fanfic because I was just about have another months long playing session with this.
Tumblr media
Roronoa Zoro from One Piece. He's awesome and the epitome of cool while still a victim of extremely goofy scenes. He's cool headed, has bloodlust, is reserved and also passionate and loyal. I've watched One Piece since the first episode aired in Germany. This guy is part of my DNA.
Tumblr media
Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Every KH fan will tell you that playing these games will alter your brain chemistry. Not necessarily in a good way but they still shake your world upside down. Riku has good character development throughout the games and I like his design, his cool demeaner and his drive to help his friends.
I kept JJK characters out of this list of course becuase I already talk about them constantly, and I definitely forgot entire series and movies and whatnot while thinking of these characters but these ones were the first on my mind so there.

I don't like being a part of fandoms... a lot of them are annoying and seem weirdly entitled, and/or don't understand the actual thing they are consuming and make that everyone else's problem. I can't look at fandoms reactions to JJK too much, it annoys the PISS out of me. Even some critiques I've seen have been piss poor, someone literally said the female characters contribute nothing to the story and if you removed them the story wouldn't change and while I agree they could have more significance to the entire overall story that's NOT remotely the same as having no contribution to it whatsoever! A lot of things would be different story wise without various woman characters in it.
I also wish more people would recognize that it's entirely possible or even most likely that Gege is probably being censored by editors and such as well. My sister once mentioned to me how Jojo ba creator was actually trying to have a female lead sooner and one in particular (Giovanni) was actually supposed to be a girl but they wouldn't let him. So, taking that into consideration and the whole Maki ark I wouldn't be surprised if they basically were like "okay that's enough, focus on the men now," ESPECIALLY considering Gege doesn't really do fan service and how much shonen LOVES sexualizing female characters.
But, anyway, going back to the above, the story would actually be pretty different without some of the various female characters and I'm going to write out how and why here. First the big one being Maki, without Maki the Zenin clan would be alive still and that wouldn't be a great thing for the JJK world if they were and Naoya and curse Naoya wouldn't be dead either (technically her Mom killed human Naoya but still counts since you know, her mom is a woman). Without Nobara Mahito wouldn't have been as easy for Yuji and Todo to deal with, Mahito literally talks about how Nobara was a big threat to him and how she weakened him and if she hadn't who knows what would have happened to them (and no it hasn't been confirmed she's dead). Nobara had also become a big part of Yuji's life, she is one of the many people who has effected Yuji's state of mind and resolve (and before anyone goes " boo, girl character dying for boys character growth..." be honest you fuckers she is literally maybe the only female character thats "died/dispperaed for Yuji sake" while so many others have as well and are boys/men and so the critique doesn't really hold up anymore). Shoko is pretty important to the school and people around her due to being a healer (and that being a very rare skill) and a doctor, she isn't shown a lot and her role isnt as important to the story specifically but it would be a lie to say she isn't important to the characters around her and things would be change a bit if she wasn't there, I would need to reread her parts though to go into more detail. Mai also has a significant role to play in Maki's story and if she wasn't there I don't think Maki would exist as the character she is now. Mai dying for Makis story is not at all equivalent to the trope of woman dying for boys/mens character development because for one thing Maki is a girl (obviously), but it also important to note that if the gender of Mai was changed to a boy the whole story around them would have been drastically different and wouldn't work to the same degree if does with Mai. Sure some would probably like to have seen a brother sacrifice himself for his sister but the reason for it being due to a misogynistic household and her killing them all in revenge and as a promise to her sister would no longer be an event in play and thus not as strong an impact to the reader & story. Some might say, well maybe Maki could have just done it for herself instead of for her sister and... sure she could have but then that's a completely different character.
I could go on but I don't really feel the need to and also I'm getting tired of writing this. Anyway, the point is if you HONESTLY honestly think the girl/woman characters could just disappear from the story and we would still somehow get the SAME story I... I don't know what to say besides you obviously haven't actually read the story you supposedly are/were a fan of and maybe should just read something more simple next time (and maybe also stop reading comics aimed specifically at boys while ur at is as well).
Also, yeah I don't actually read/watch a lot of shonen because I don't expect manga/anime aimed at boys to appeal to me and it often doesn't.
Also, also, sort of related but I do find it funny that people still get upset enough to hate the story/creator or even just drop it when characters die or something even though this has been an established theme and story element for a while now. Again , fans are just too entitled and should just calm the fuck down.
And.. no, I will never claim JJK is progressive or feminists because it could do better BUT I also don't think it is nearly as bad as some people try to make it out to be. It's at best neutral to me and I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, honestly I think it's all we can expect from a shonen tbh because of how censored they can be about not going over a certain line because it has to specifically be aimed at boys. And, look, maybe it's not censored but I have a hard time believing it hasn't been to some sort of degree when it comes to the woman characters considering all I've heard about how the editors and such are about girls/woman in general. Also, I know people want to be nice about it and even some will go so far as claim that it is racist or something to say Japan is uniquely sexist and while, yes, the world in general is sexist it's not wrong at all to say or point out that Japan DOES have a pretty big misogyny problem (like im talking about statistics/data). A lot of people just want to partake in Japanese media without actually having to critically think of where specifically it's coming from and what that might mean.
And, honestly it doesn't help that something I've noticed recently is how many aren't willing to acknowledge the possibility that a LOT of y'all fetishize Japan and Japanese culture (specifically in this case the manga/anime) similar to how kp0p fans are with their fav singers and such. But that's not the main point of this so I'm just going to stop there.
