The shrine maiden possibly being Angel never crossed my mind.........
Also this jp youtuber also theorized that sukuna met uraume in the same circumstances as when geto met mimiko and nanako......
Tumblr media
Also, why did Uraume have to incarnate to a woman's body?? I hope it's not because of Kenjaku's shenanigans........ 'cause if it is, I understand now why Uraume don't want them (Kenjaku) near them (Uraume) and Sukuna lmao

Thoughts on 271 because I'm still not over it
I know that essentially everyone is really disappointed by 271 for various reasons, but I think what really sticks out to me as the most disappointing is the grave mismanagement of JJK's outlying themes.
If nothing else, this series has dutifully stuck to the cruelty and unfairness of the Jujutsu World, and the thought that it doesn't have to be that way, that things could be better. JJK has stuck to this idea faithfully for the entire series. Countless literary devices, parallels, and foils have been thrown in our faces over and over to bring this point home:
Their world is awful, but love prevails.
Or, it was supposed to, anyway. I can see the areas where Gege attempted to make this true, but ultimately I feel as though the story falls really short at the end. I can't say as to what the reason is, if Gege was just tired and too overworked, or if the story was really planned to go this way, but it's absolutely obscene to fumble something that important at the last second.
I am just as upset about Gojo as anyone else, but I think what's even worse is not the fact that his character is gravely disrespected, but the very foundation that his entire story arc is built off of - the entire reason he went through all that suffering and heartbreak - was BECAUSE he was supposed to be a touchstone for change.
So it falls really flat when, in the end, we didn't get that.
Now, maybe (theoretically) we are just supposed to assume this change occurred because Gojo got rid of the higher ups. But I still feel like even if that's the case, there's not enough in the epilogue to really point us to that conclusion, and can be summed up as conjecture at best. Genuinely, there's nothing about the end of Jujutsu Kaisen that makes me feel like some great shift has occurred. Ultimately, we are at the same place that we began:
High school kids, fighting curses.
We actually didn't even get to undo the premise that people are being used as tools, because, we still are seeing that in the end, and the fact that Gojo was not mourned, or given at least a funeral - the fact that we don't even know what happened to his body- completely dashes any and all hopes of that ever coming full circle. Gojo, to the end of the series, was only ever treated as a human by Geto and Yuta. Even then though, we didn't see a follow up on Yuta 'becoming a monster' in Gojo's place. The narrative just doesn't address it other than making it into a bit of a joke (ouch).
We really didn't even see the full eradication of Sukuna, either, seeing as the last page is his remaining finger.
So I just feel as though, in the end, the story just doesn't do itself any justice. There's no change that's happened, just an obscene amount of grief.
Megumi is still the same boy we saw in chapter one; never learned how to live for himself. We never see his true potential. We haven't gotten a conclusion on Yuji being the new 'strongest' which had been my assumption through the entire series.
We also didn't really get much of the theme addressed where the narrative was punishing Gojo for 'fighting alone' where Yuji and his friends succeed together. I mean, sure, they did technically work together, but it doesn't really feel like the actual defeat of Sukuna at the end was a collaborative effort. Other than his showdown with Todo and Yuji, it still felt like for the most part people were still 1v1 Sukuna, and when we did see people work together it was for one or two or so panels. It doesn't really drive the theme home.
I am really just disappointed in how everything has been managed when we stuck to these ideas the entire time. It's honestly jarring how the story went from being one of the most beautifully written tragedies, to a haphazard collection of ideas hastily thrown in a box and tied with a bow holding it together. There's too many loose ends, too many characters who didn't get a conclusion, too many wasted elements and unanswered questions.
The series is always going to be dear to me, and the characters are the absolute highlight of the experience, but I do wish that the insane level of forethought and care got put into the end of the series as much as it did the beginning. Because the beginning is some of the best writing I have seen from anything in a long time.

JJK SPOIILERS
Someone on Tiktok saying "Mahito really was the perfect curss" in reference to the last chapter spoke to me in so many ways.
Sukuna was the King of Curses but he was never the "perfect curse" because he was human once before. He knew what it was like to be hurt, to feel love and pain.
When speaking to Jogo after his defeat, Sukuna did mean it when he said he didn't know what his tears meant. By that point he had been a curse for hundreds and hundreds of years. It took him living inside a human- experiencing what its like to be human for a second time as a second entity to channel emotions he hasn't felt in centuries.
This ties into my thoughts on how Sukuna hated Yuuji for the empathy and humanity Yuuji had. I posted about it already but Yuuji really was the perfect vessel for him, even if Sukuna didn't (and will never) admit it.
In comparison to Sukuna, Mahito was never human. He was born a curse, and he died a curse. He'd never choose to go north because he has never felt raw, human feelings.
Ugh I love yapping about JJK 😪

Tbh despite all my grips with the manga I got out with a smile.
Sukuna yuji are the only reason I am feeling content or at least have a good feeling about it.. Chp itself is good but if you start to look for more it will affect your mood..... I mean we weren't reading jjk only for characters . The plot itself was too good. And gege certainly prioritised characters over plot...
But yeah I am thankful for this chp . As it compensates well for the last two boring chap.. Moreover I will be able to look back fondly the time I spent and the precious memories i made from this manga... I mean a bad ending wouldn't make me hate manga but it would taint my whole perception and the feelings I had for this manga..

jjk ending spoilers ahead (unhinged angy ranting mind you)
So it seems like most people liked this and enjoyed this part of the ending but I didn't so I'll fuckin say it myself I guess- THEY RUINED SUKUNA'S CHARACTER??? THERE WAS NO HINT, NO SIGN, NOTHING THAT HE HAD ANY THOUGHT OF HIS BELIEFS BEING WRONG, AND BEING DEFEATED DOESN'T MEAN HIS POINT OF VIEW IS SUDDENLY WRONG, IT JUST MEANS HE WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH??? HE SHOULD HAVE REJECTED THE NOTION OF A DIFFERENT PATH AND SIMPLY DOUBLED DOWN, SAYING SOMETHING LIKE HE WOULD HAVE TO BE STRONGER IN THE NEXT LIFE TO ENSURE EVEN A LARGE GROUP LIKE THAT CAN'T OVERPOWER HIM IN SUCH A WAY.
IF GEGE WAS PLANNING ON DOING THIS WITH SUKUNA, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOME HESITATION OR SOME FEELING OR /SOMETHING/ DURING THE HEART TO HEART YUJI HAD WITH HIM IN THAT MINI DOMAIN THING THAT HAPPENED A FEW CHAPTERS BACK. Like, Sukuna could have had his whole speech of "I see and understand what you are saying, but it does nothing to move me, I feel nothing" but then if they just gave him some internal dialogue of being confused on some odd sensation in his chest or smth, there would AT LEAST be some set up for him accepting that the path he walked was wrong, he doubled down on his beliefs every second he had on screen until the very fuckin end post death in some limbo state on the way to the afterlife/reincarnation of the next life or whatever, and it's so fuckin,,,, garbage,,, I loved Sukuna so much because of how set in his ways he was, and how comitted to his ideals and everything he had. His speech to Jogo in the shibyua arc? where he invaded his mind on death to talk to Jogo's fading spirit or whatever? So fuckin good, but ruined and hypocritical now,,, I hate it!!! (I will concede the closest we get to some form of Sukuna having this change was his odd fondness for Uraume, but I argue that Sukuna was hedonistic, he sought pleasure and to live simply as he desired as the strongest, this doesn't mean he can't have friends, it doesn't mean he has doubts on his feelings for the way things should be. And there was no actual hinting or foreshadowing anywhere that he thought the path he was on had even a chance of being wrong. He didn't consider it while dying, he still doubled down literally until the very end while a tiny scrap of him was threatened and then crushed and killed, but then SUDDENLY post death in the spirit world or whatever, he's like "aaa worm, guess I was wrong" BULLSHIT HE'D SOONER ADMIT HE SIMPLY WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO DO AS HE PLEASED RATHER THAN ADMITTING HIS ENTIRE PHILOSOPHY WAS WRONG)

With all this crying from gojou fans over the fact that he didn't return in the last chapter, it makes me think that the best thing that happened was his death.

ok but we know that sukuna can go to another path and we really really really need a story/one shot/series (idk just one of these) in which he choose another path because of y/n. 🥺🥺

JJK ENDING/271 SPOILERS
I wanna write an essay about how much I love Sukunas character bc holy shit yall.
The way it took him having a 15 year old boy (whose too good for this world) as a vessel to be able to feel an ounce of humanity, to choose to start anew with Uraume and go North.
At first he rejected any pity or kindness shown to him, as exemplified by Yuuji. Everyone else wanted him dead, and yet Yuuji still held his crumbling remains and said he could relive again and find peace through Yuuji.
Yet he said no.
But when it became to the point where he was in the spirit realm, when he was with Uraume and fuckass Mahito, he realized he truly lost. He couldn't deny it, and for that he put some walls down. He put a hand on Uraumes shoulder and walked them to where he hopes lands them a second chance.
Gege cooked with Sukuna I'm ngl and I could go on but my break is almost over 😭

It just amuse me that Sukuna talked about change only once Yuuji was unable to hear him. Tsunkuna until the end?
Joke aside I feel like we feel the same about the end so that's nice to see I am not alone
I find it weird tbh that both mahito and sukuna did not talk about yuji, I mean they both were defeated by yuji ideologically and in the fight...I thought both would have something to say as yuji is the only thing they had in common.. Well what can we say......
And same with sukuna,it's clear that he has changed because he lost to yuji.. We can feel how genuine that smile was and his wish to try a different path... You are right.. He openly accepts his flaws in front of mahito but in front of yuji he takes pauses , calls him liar but also calls his name and actually behaves like tsundere ..
Like it's only through yuji we see real sukuna . His actions scream that it's yuji who helped him realize these things.. But he does not mention him at all.. I do feel a little bit stumped here..
Well, I'm just trying to get into a better headspace to talk about the end.. Because right now I am very much affected by sukuna's conclusion specifically..., and I can't let it affect my true opinion about these 5 chp but yeah just know this I am not really happy with this end plot wise... I will be addressing this in a separate post..
