my personal pipe dream is that one monday the egg statistics drop and flippa (and maybe tilin) are just there. at the end. with one heart, and one gray checkmark.
what i imagine is the server flips their shit. alive!!! alive!!! but they log in and they don't see the eggs. instead they get a message. i do not care who it's from or how it's delivered. they're told the eggs are being held captive somewhere, but they're alive. all that's left is to find them, before sunday at midnight pst. bc if their tasks aren't done, they die (one checkmark, one quest set. once rescued they become triple check like the other eggs)
slimeriana come CRASHING back into the server, they don't know jack shit, ESPECIALLY mariana who doesn't recognize 90% of the island anymore but holy fuck, flippa is alive somewhere and they have to find her. and maybe mariana's still in the old server days mindset of raising his kid alone but slime's slowly been indoctrinated into "it takes a village" and honestly the absolute second mariana logs on, someone's gonna be in chat already like HEY MARIANA CAN I TALK TO YOU? be it baghera or cellbit or forever or bad or I DON'T KNOW, COULD GENUINELY BE ANYONE LMAO but like mystery and eggs in danger is chumming the water for this server
which is great bc A) mariana has a concrete goal for logging into the server (finding his daughter) and B) he would be interacting with the rest of the server along the way, because he's not going to be doing this alone (he wouldn't even be allowed lmfao the rest of the server would be at his doorstep asking to help him in like 15 seconds flat) which means C) he might get reasons to log in extending outside flippa and slime. bingooooo
i call this a pipe dream bc i can poke so many holes in this even rn (does cc!mariana want flippa back, like fr? i'm not up to date) but can you IMAGINE. LIKE DAMN. i'm putting this idea into the public domain fr go nuts with it.
#qsmp#would not mind if that means the revival is a slow burn#(bc of admin team having to prep the mystery and/or adventure)#that would just be a bonus tbh bc it means that the admins would be given more time to fit it into their plans#bc i imagine the story would be harder to alter for the immediate future#but their plans down the line might be more malleable and thus could fit the potentially weeklong mystery into them#this is my pipe dream though i have worms in my brain and they've been screaming flippa since the bug was discovered#i'm not gonna cry in a gutter if it doesn't happen lmfao#qsmp juanaflippa#qsmp elmariana#shut up vic#block game brainrot#submitting this for peer review maybe if i'm lucky the admins will club penguin it#(read: take and run with the idea and pretend that was their plan all along)#either that or a really talented fic author will write and post like three chapters i'll accept that too#âš âthis idea is now public domain go hogwild my loves âš

Do you know what? The story of Tallulah, Pomme and Hope makes me return to the theory of Richas being one of the youngest eggs, even younger than Pepito, Sunny and Empanada. This reinforces a little with the Lore of the eggs groups: Group one: Chay, Flippa, Bobby, Tillin, Trump, Ramon, Leo and Dapper. Group Two: Lullah, Pomme and Hope Group Three: Pepito, Sunny and Empanada. Group 4: Richas and 2 more eggs. ( Maybe Chunski) Remembering that to understand this theory, you have to see the eggs as a product of the Federation, and thinking that the Federation can preserve them in blocks of ice, etc., just like it does with residents. In other words, their real age is not based on the day they were found, because they already existed before.
Pomme, Tallulah and Hope were raised together, and then were separated, Pomme was waiting for the French for a long time, which is why Pomme is older than Richas, even though he appeared before her. And again, all the eggs had their beds, some had certificates, adoption tickets, etc, but Richas never had any of that. So, looking at the eggs as a product, it was one of the new batches of eggs that were still being tested and They had to release him earlier because the Brazilians arrived, but supposedly ahead of time. That's why we said it was an accidental arrival.
And maybe, considering qCellbit and qBagi's story, that the Federation preferred him to remain missing, maybe he wasn't meant to be on that Brazilian ship. I can visualize the theory that, whoever was bringing him back, it wasn't meant to be with the other Brazilians. So maybe the little egg he was supposed to receive was Hope and not Richas? Like Bad, he would be a single father.Okay, I theorized too much, maybe it was a daydream, but it would be an interesting plot twist. But think, since supposedly the twins could also have been born on Quesadilha Island, with their parents being from the Federation, this means that they are not Brazilian, so none of them were supposed to return in a specific language group, they would be solo entries . qBagi got the Empanada in a mixed group of mothers, who speak at least 4 languages. qCellbit perhaps should have only won Hope, or else Hope would have had a mixed group of parents as well.

I am so so so confused. Wtf was this lore event lmao
Overall it was so random? Why was code!flippa even there? There was black concrete everywhere in the maze, linking it to wherever the eggs are, and yet, there were federation rooms in the heart of it?
What is protocol AB? Who was the message welcoming back? At first I thought it was Max (he JUST came back), then maybe Aypierre (freaky brain experiments in the past by the federation), but itâs probably actually bad ?? (he got another ticket to the island, implying he might have already come here before)
Why was code!flippa saying stuff like « is it worth it? » as if the three guys she GUIDED THERE knew anything about wtf was going on lmao
Who made them play the game? Whoever it was, I canât help thinking theyâre a bit of a troll for making them choose between gun Cucurucho and cheerleader Cucurucho so randomly lmao In my heart, I think it is black Cucurucho. He was there when they discovered the roulette after all!
Why was dapperâs hat there? Only to make them understand that Bad was the one to play? How did the game master get the hat? Wtf was that dice game even for? Why was the prize that ticket? What does that mean?
The way they just got dumped out without any further info was the cherry on top. Wtf are we supposed to do with this?? xD

I was so sure that I already posted this so if it turns out this is a glitch and I'm posting it twice, don't get mad.
I'm honestly really glad that it seems like they're making it a distinct plot point how all the eggs keep dying cause I have to assume that means there'll be some kind of closure/happy ending. When I made this, slime just attended the funeral and I couldnt stop thinking about how poor little Tilin and Juanaflippa keep being separated even in death (if lil J does in fact come back and revive flippa).

muah besitos x repsonder msi preguntas saluditos chayito tqm
Okay, long post!
Here's a few posts I've already made on the kids: - Arrival - Qualifications - Names - Abilities Other than that, they kinda just do... hero things. They do go to school at the FoH headquarters- basically homeschooling tbh. But they do patrols and they go out on fights and it's dangerous. They aren't usually all friends because it's a very competitive environment, so it's usually pretty lonely. Either your teammates hate you or they're dead.
Yeah lol, he's an alien prince and he will Not go back home now that he's got a family
Full disclosure, I've never even had a taco before so I didn't even know there are different types of taquerias, but the one Roier works at is lowkey his? Like his dads are rich af so they bought it for him as a birthday present when he turned 18, but he was like "Dads nooooo I wanna make my own way in the world!" so he works as a server and cook and lets other people take care of the business side of things. Is it practical? Considering he's also Spider-Man, it works for him! 4. So Charlie is kinda nothing, but he's been heading down a steady path towards villainy since his daughter, Flippa, was taken from him and put into the Junior Hero Program. He can't control when he Geggs out, though, so he kinda just sits in a sewer and mopes. Meanwhile Mariana was so bad at being a hero that the FoH literally kicked him out, and now he's also. In a sewer missing his daughter. But tbh the two of them will probably end up as partners in crime as soon as Charlie figures out how to purposefully Gegg all over the place 5. Etoiles joined the FoH entirely willingly because he fully and totally just legitimately wants to protect the city. But he lowkey hates everyone in the FoH and is like two seconds away from quitting and turning to vigilante-ing because he knows that the entire system is corrupt. But he wants to keep his daughter safe, too, so he's waiting to quit until she's just a bit older. Then they can be the father-daughter vigilante duo they've been planning to be since Pomme was, like, three 6. Wilbur is a rock star who can make flowers appear out of thin air, and his ability is so useless that the FoH can't even use him as a spokesman for the organization. All he does is make pretty flowers for his daughter and leave to go on tour, but that's fine, everyone loves him, anyway 7. So Quackity and his identical twin brother ElQuackity don't speak to each other. Quackity is an ordinary dude working at a coffee shop downtown with a shapeshifting ability that he uses exclusively for pranks and bullying. Meanwhile ElQ is a former villain who was "reformed" by the FoH. He works for them now, and he's the guy in charge of the Junior Hero Program: Dr. Duck, how scary 8. Yeah! Everybody's real in this au! I don't think any of them except Tubbo and Mouse and Bagi and maybe Willy and Rivers would ever appear in a proper big role because the story would focus on Cellbit and Roier and the people they know and work with yk? 9. Nope, nothing with the cat stuff this time. I'm focusing more on what the actual q!Cellbit is like in this au, what with the literal fear rooms and the spooky vampire castle and the fact that he's out here calling himself a vampire lol

I feel like thereâs a disconnect between what fans frustrated with Badâs character want for consquences and what Badâs fans consider consquences.
(Explanation below)
Bad was self-harming via modded minecraft bird and having concerning lapses of memory and getting hit in the kneecaps every 2 seconds by purgatory and mourning over his children. And now heâs lost his memory and is either dying from a nuke blast or recovering from dying.
So heâs a character that does some shitty stuff, but heâs also kind of rotting away where he stands, so it balances out right? Why do other fans want him to hurt more? How could he even possibly hurt more than heâs already hurting?
This is what a lot of protective Bad fans believe, but itâs not at all what other fans are talking about.
When I say consequences, I donât mean the consequences of letting himself be vulture food or the consequences of justâŠexisting in purgatory. These are painful but they have nothing to do with his actions towards others, which are the actions that myself and I suspect a lot of other BBH fatigued fans care about. Does everyone remember that whole ordeal where Bad got interrogated by Tubbo about Ron? Bad would be eaten by soul vultures whether he tortured Ron or not, but Tubbo beefing with him only happened because of what he did to Ron. THAT is a consequence.
And yeah, I do think Bad deserves consequences. Not for stupid shit like furniture stealing, and not for anything that happened in purgatory because I couldnât watch most of purgatory and I would rather slam my head into a wall than talk about purgatory discourse again, but for the cold and calculating way he treated all of his friends for his big scheme after the Acceptance stream onwards.
Iâm going to guess from the fact that this behavior started at the same time as Badâs rapid mental health decline that we as an audience are not supposed to consider Bad treating everyone around him like ends to the means of his mysterious plan as a good thing, or a neutral character trait.
It might be easy to brush off Badâs behavior as just angst not really worth remembering, butâŠI was invested in Bagheraâs backstory and how it intertwined with the Ron storyline. I was invested in her and Badâs friendship. I donât want to just brush off the fact that Baghera drug herself through the mud to protect Bad and he ignored her in return. Situations like this have happened several times. Bad acts like an asshole to people he cares about because he has a one track mind to save the eggs, and then anyone who would like to see the pain or indignity he caused those other characters have some kind of follow up just donât get it.
Iâve heard some confusion over why people want consequences from Bad when other characters have done way worse, but the thing is those characters DO get consequences.
Cellbit canât embrace his cannibal persona and be friends with Pac at the same time. Heâs messing up his relationship with his sister. Heâs pitting Fit and Bagi against him because they care about the two people he has hurt. The Feds are looking for the worker killer right now and who knows what they plan to do to him. Cellbit does shitty things, and whether not you think heâs justified in any of it, he is suffering as a DIRECT consequence.
Slimecicle didnât go on a murder spree against the eggs and then everyone just moved on and forgot about it. He was crying and screaming about Flippa throughout the entire thing, and at the end of the stream he has a very sincere âwhat am I doing?â moment and admits to himself that sheâs gone and he needs to accept it. He showed regret, and then he went down and apologized to everyone and said it wouldnât happen again (although admittedly he did treat the apology part like a bit). This example is kind of shaky because killing eggs was still less of a huge deal back then, but I still wanted to bring it up because consequences donât always have to be punishments, they can be moments of humility and regret, too. Bad is in despair because of the missing eggs, but it would be nice to see him have some despair over how disconnected he might feel to his loved ones specifically because of the effects of his downward spiral. Or to have him show some regret for how he acted, whether he ends up apologizing or not. I doubt this will happen, it doesnât really seem like ccBadâs style, but it is an option.
The eggs are back now so Bad will probably go back to being a slightly obnoxious babysitter with trust issues and the frustration of him being able to throw people under the bus for his own needs and getting away with it constantly will hopefully fade away. I do like Badâs character after all, I just also like the characters that interact with him and feel like they deserve better in the narrative.

about your garden of missed promises au i wonder does bobby make flower crowns he thinks look cool or is he secretly a flower language nerd and chooses what flowers he gives to who? Or a mix of both or a secret 3rd option
are tilin and flippa besties ?? (i must know for my poor soul i got way too attatched to the og kids)
even if he just exists in the universe is trumpet alive ??
how did roier and jaiden meet in this au?
if the brasilians arrive would cellbit and roier still get maried way too fast ?
why did jaiden drop out of law ?
does flippa have a whole nerf guns collection ? or only a sick one (what would it look like ?) what about bobby and his fake sword, does he have a collection or just one?
did spreen betrayal still happen ?
familoier favorite painting subjects ?
if the brazilians arrive with richas/if there is richas how would he and bobby meet?
dont feel like you have to awnser everything this au just makes me go crazy/pos
OKOKOK YIPPEEEE
Ok so I think Bobby says he just makes ones that look cool but secretly puts a lot of thought into it yeah- I mean he does try and make them look cool but thatâs not his only motivation definitely :]]
Iâd say so!! All the eggs are friends in some capacity but Tilin and Flippa are probably closer than most :D
yup!! All the dead eggs are alive and thriving!! I donât have many thoughts for trumpet yet but if you have any ideas I would be ecstatic to hear them!!!!!
Iâm still thinking on how they met exactly but my idea so far is that Jaiden was struggling between jobs or something and had to crash on Roiers couch for a while- though even after Jaiden got back on her feet enough to live on her own she and Roier were good enough friends and just decided to be roomates (Iâm still figuring out how Jaiden would crash on Roiers couch and not someone elseâs but Iâm guessing a mutual friend hooked them up)
I wouldnât think so- though I do think they get into a relationship very quickly, and are very close as partners. I think if they were proposed to the idea of marrying each other they wouldnât protest but they just havenât yet.
I think she just felt like she wasnât going in a place she felt happy with- she already had a hobby with art and while she enjoyed bylaw sometimes it was too draining on her in a way that she didnât want to have to be her job
she has a huge collection (and even gave Bobby one of hers once) that she loves to show off to everyone. Iâd say Bobby has a few swords but doesnât have as many because of the fact that wooden, handmade swords are a bit more expensive- though he does have a few extra crappy ones :]
I might be forgetting or I might be dumb (/j) but I canât remember what the spreen betrayal was sorry
Hmmmm ok so Iâd say jaidenâs favorite is to paint landscapes or flowers etc, but she also oftentimes draws Bobby in those landscapes, Bobbyâs is to draw his family and Roiers is probably doing silly drawings of Bobby (I also need to rewatch the vods to get a better idea of what they paint but these are my ideas for now)
Richas would probably go to the same school as Bobby and thus theyâd probably meet each other at recess or something- but they also meet for a second time when roier and cellbit do a meet the family type thing and they both go like :00 itâs you!!
donât worry donât worry this au also makes me go crazy đ€đ€đ€

Affinity - Ch. 5 (10.05)
McDanno, A03
A continuous story of season 10 episode codas. Â Steve may describe their relationship as a dysfunctional marriage, but at some point, will he and Danny take a closer look at what it really could be? Â Â
Chapter 5
Youâre taking Charlie trick-or-treating near your house tonight, right?
Danny tugs his phone out of his pocket, squints at the text, and writes back.
Yeah, my neighborhood has the best decorations. Â And Ms. Tanaka on the corner gives out whole candy bars. Â Why?Â
Danny pokes his head into Charlieâs bedroom to check on his sonâs progress while he waits for Steve to respond. Charlie is still deciding between the Superman costume that Rachel bought for him, and a vampire ghost contraption that he insisted on creating with an old sheet and magic markers about twenty minutes ago.
Probably nothing.  But we caught a case with a guy who broke out of a basement cell. Potentially very dangerous and unstable. Nowhere near your place, though.
 Sure, I buy that.
No, really. Â Ask Max if you want.
âDanno, Iâm ready now!â Â Charlie announces. Â Danny assures him that the blood drops and fangs drawn on the sheet draped over his head look extremely scary, and they head outside, plastic pumpkin in hand.
Danny can catch up with Steve later. Heâs not falling for his escaped basement monster joke. Â For now heâs going to ignore Steve, and focus on Charlie.
Thatâs been his approach all week, ever since Steve kissed him.
Not just with Charlie, of course. Danny has, in no particular order, focused on (1) badgering Tani about her mermaid costume; (2) taking Quinn out to lunch to try to get himself to stop thinking of her as the enemy; (3) hassling Grace about midterms that she should be paying more attention to; (4) making sure that if he was paired up with Steve on a case they had another member of the team with them; and (5) also Charlie, who had a very important Lego club meeting on Wednesday after school. Â
All of this was designed to help him put things in perspective.  That perspective being that whatever Steve was up to last week after Danny hit his head was just about being a good friend and partner â work partner â not anything else.
 Dannyâs not sure itâs working.
That night last week, feeling Steve press a kiss to his cheek, Danny had felt something blossom in his chest that was far, far too dangerous to think about.  He canât go down this road, not now, and really, not ever.  Not unless he wants to risk what he has with Steve.
But what ifâŠ? his treacherous brain keeps asking.  What if it wouldnât ruin what he has with Steve?  What if this is something Steve wants?
Steve had clearly thought Danny was asleep.  Does it mean that Steve has romantic feelings for him, but doesnât want Danny to know? Or does it mean thereâs nothing to know?
Danny wishes he had been brave enough to tilt his head, to catch Steveâs warm lips with his own.  To see if Steve would have continued the kiss, lean close with just the right amount of pressure.  Slowly open up for Danny, letting him in, trading soft kisses and flickers of tongue until their hands started to wander, bodies pressed closeâŠ
Danny closes down this train of thought abruptly.  Unfortunately itâs a train that keeps coming around, like itâs circling a Christmas tree, insisting on chugging itself into Dannyâs mind over and over and over.  But he cannot be having these thoughts about Steve. His best friend.  His male best friend, who has shown no interest whatsoever in any male partners for the ten years Danny has known him (except you, a voice in his head whispers⊠maybe heâs shown an interest in you).
The whole situation makes him dizzy, and not just from the blood rushing to his nether regions.  So Danny tries as hard as he can to focus on non-Steve things. End of story.
It should be easy enough not to think about his partner tonight, since heâs keeping busy trick-or-treating with Charlie.  Except nothing about Steve is ever easy.
His phone vibrates again, twice in a row, and Danny sighs.  Itâs not as if he can ignore Steveâs texts.  Steve is his boss, after all (and right there, right there, is another reason nothing can happen between them.  As if Steve had any respect for the rules, which he doesnât, but Danny does. Usually.)
Can you believe Max is visiting with his son?  Wanna talk to him?
 Danny, you there?
Danny gives up and calls Steve, trailing behind Charlie as they walk to another house, this one with cute little pumpkins on stakes lighting their driveway.
âWhat is it?  Iâm out with Charlie, can it wait?â
âHey, you didnât tell me you were going as Oscar the Grouch.  Thought Charlie was too old for Sesame Street?â
 âHa ha, very funny.â
âI thought so.â  Steveâs voice turns serious.  âBut really, there is a very angry guy roaming the streets tonight. Worse than you before your coffee.â
Danny pauses, putting a hand on Charlieâs shoulder and looking around for anything out of the ordinary.  He doesnât see any costumed kids older than about middle school age, and the parents tagging along donât look like theyâre hyped up on anything but sugar.
âItâs quiet here.  Not even any obnoxious teenagers.â
âOkay, just keep an eye out and let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary.â
Itâs a funny thing to say on Halloween, but Danny gets it.  The case may be bothering Steve more than heâs letting on.  âYou need me to come in?  I can drop Charlie at Rachelâs-â
âNo, Danno,â Charlie whines, appearing in front of him with a pleading look on his face.  âStay with me, you promised.â
âYouâre fine, Danny.  Everyone else is here.  Have fun with Charlie.â
They hang up, although Danny feels a little pang.  <i>Everyone else is here.</i>  Even Max.  At least Quinn isnât wearing some kind of sexy soldier costume tonight, if she sticks with what she bought while she and Danny were having lunch earlier in the week. Although Steve will probably appreciate the Top Gun outfit just as much.
Danny sighs and trots to catch up to Charlie.  They hit a few more houses, but before long, Charlie is flagging.  He looks up at Danny with bright eyes, and Danny crouches down next to him.
âI donât feel so good, Danno.â
Danny feels his sonâs forehead. Itâs a little warm, and Charlieâs eyes are bright.  âItâs time to head home anyway, bud.  You already got more candy than I ever did.â  He takes Charlieâs plastic pumpkin from him and nods appreciatively.  âTons more.â
 âMore than Grace ever got?â
Danny grins, and slings an arm around Charlieâs thin shoulders.  âDefinitely more than Grace.â
Back at home Danny takes Charlieâs temperature.  Heâs barely got a fever, but heâs thoroughly wiped out from all the excitement.  He doesnât even protest when Danny gives him some Tylenol and puts him to bed.
Itâs only afterwards, sitting on his couch checking over Charlieâs candy, that Danny remembers Kamekonaâs party. He had planned to head over there with Charlie for a little while after trick-or-treating.  He sends Kame a quick text with his apologies.  Just something else heâs missing tonight.
Danny helps himself to a mini-Snickers and clicks on the television.  He tells himself that the team probably isnât going to make it back to the party either, not with the cases that sprung up tonight.  Maybe he and Steve can stop by later in the week to meet Flippaâs mom while sheâs visiting.
Danny channel surfs idly, getting up to hand out candy every time the doorbell rings.  The pace of trick-or-treaters eventually slows, and Danny gets sucked into a show about a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost who are roommates.  It reminds him of the basement escapee Steve warned him about, and he takes a minute to do another check on his windows and doors.  Even though Tani texted him that the guy was found, you can never be too safe.
Heâs on his way back to the couch when the doorbell rings again.  Itâs Steve, wearing a creepy mask and making a hooting noise that is probably supposed to be scary.
 âCome on in, you dope.â
âHowâd you know it was me?â
Danny doesnât dignify this with an answer.  âWant some candy?â  He holds out the plastic pumpkin to Steve, who takes it on his way to the couch.
 âThanks.  Got any more beer?â
Danny retrieves two cold beers from the kitchen and joins Steve, who is methodically picking through Charlieâs take and setting aside all of the Butterfingers.  Steve knows Charlie doesnât like them.  The two of them had debated the merits of various candy bars a few weeks ago when Steve got him going by suggesting to Charlie that he hand out bags of pretzels instead of candy.  Charlie was not in favor.
âWhy arenât you at Kamekonaâs?â Danny finally asks, when they are settled in front of the television, the next episode of the ridiculous roommates show starting up.
Steve barely finishes chewing his latest Butterfinger and frowns at Danny.  âI heard Charlie was sick.  Figured Iâd better keep you company.â
âThat was very thoughtful of you,â Danny says, as Steve returns his gaze to the television. Â
âBesides, just because our guy didnât turn out to be a monster, it is Halloween,â Steve says.  âYou never know what might happen.â
Danny swallows hard, and tries not to read anything into Steveâs comment.  Charlie is sleeping in the next room, after all.  And Halloween isnât exactly a romantic holiday.
But then Steve stretches and slings his arm over the back of the couch, practically around Dannyâs shoulders, and slides a little closer to him.  Danny smiles and leans into Steveâs warmth.  He almost forgot Steveâs love for scary date movies.  Maybe something is happening tonight after all.

annnd iâve hit 10.05! putting this under a spoiler because it got moderately long (which generally just means i really enjoyed an episode, ha).
steve trying to scare the trick or treating kids was WONDERFUL and EXACTLY the kind of silly content i want to see, but then junior showed up and they did this almost rehearsed bit where together they hyped up the big scary thing coming which was EDDIE in a LION COSTUME and thatâs where i totally lost it, because holy shit, yes, I LOVE THAT. in general iâm all for how much eddie has been in this season, but heâs also in it in such delightfully domestic, comedic relief ways, which is EVEN BETTER, because it also means steve gets to experience all this silly stuff and itâs 101% what i want for his character.
max!!!! i knew he was going to be in this episode, but itâs still really good to see him, ahhhh.
all of the halloween costumes at flippaâs party are A+, but suddenly tani and quinn walked onto screen together and i just, yes, those are both PERFECT and that theyâre hanging out at this party together is MORE PERFECT.
noelani introducing tani and quinn to max was great (different five-0 generations overlapping! this is the stuff of fanfic) but then the camera panned to kamekona who is just... wearing an orange shirt and a shrimp hat. his costume. is shrimp. i. i love that. i am dead
i love the idea of max adopting a kid, but this introduction where theyâre already at the party for what seems like a little while and suddenly heâs like âand HEREâS MY SONâ is so hilariously dramatic and random, omfg. where did he hide him until then??
neolani!!!! i didnât expect her to be a focus of this episode but now sheâs angry at herself and almost crying over the body that got stolen and iâm crying right along with her, oh god
there is SO MUCH going on in this episode and it makes it almost hard to keep up with, but i really like that. itâs very tense! very halloween-y.
TANI AND QUINN ENTERING A HOUSE TOGETHER. listen, at this point theyâve had a handful of scenes together and it doesnât seem like their interactions are going to be super scarce, but i still jump and go !!! every time it happens because iâm just so starved for interactions between women on this show, and suddenly weâre getting them(!!!) and the reason they have scenes together isnât even that theyâre both women (which has definitely been the case in the past sometimes, especially for kono, and it doesnât diminish my excitement about seeing two women talk to each other on screen, but it does give it that strange double feeling of âsomebody needs to talk to this one-off female character about something, and we have exactly one (1) woman on our team, so thatâs her job now while the guys get to do whatever case stuff they wantâ which is not exactly great).
tunde making friends with this basically innocent and extremely abused and traumatized Monster Guy by handing him a piece of candy is such a ridiculous coincidence and extreme cliche and I DONâT CARE because i will cry about literally anything and iâm a huge sucker for exactly this kind of thing. human kindness. oh god
duke about Monster Guy: âif he tries to run or endanger any of my officers, weâre gonna have to use lethal force.â okay, but why?? maybe iâm very naive here, but canât you just... shoot him in the leg? idk, use a stun gun? arenât there ways to incapacitate him that wouldnât immediately kill him?
MAX. maxâs speech got me crying more, and i almost kind of wish the biological mother hadnât shown up, because itâs a neatly tied up ending this way, but it might have been more impactful if it had just been âother people can accept you (without needing to have any big reason for doing so)â instead of âin the end your biological parent might end up changing their mind and accepting you anyway after abandoning you to your fate for thirty years and thatâs what will fix thingsâ.
anyway. i REALLY LIKED THIS EPISODE. enough so that i was two-thirds of the way in before it occured to me that i hadnât seen danny yet, which is high praise for the rest of the cast, gosh.
also, now that iâm caught up again, a temporary final assessment: this season has A) this oddly gay subplot where danny tries ridiculously hard to hook steve up while steve drags his feet which i love for a thousand little reasons, B) lots of eddie, which is awesome because DOG, C) some pretty interesting cases, so far! and D) ANOTHER MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER ON THE TEAM, who actually gets SCREENTIME with the other main female character, and THEY LIKE EACH OTHER and i could cry, honestly. this is so good and all i wanted and i am very happy. on the surface level itâs such a tiny, almost infinitesmal improvement upon what it was (even with quinn pretty much replacing jerry, weâre currently still at 7 men and 3 women in the title credits), but it feels HUGE, because the difference between one single lone woman in the core main cast and two women who can actually talk to each other? thereâs a grand canyon of bechdell test passes seperating those two, oh wow.

How To Monetize Your Website and Make A Profit from Flipping Domains

How To Monetize Your Website and Make A Profit from Flipping Domains
Many people nowadays are making money online by building websites and selling them on platforms like Empire Flippers and Flippa. This article will explain how you can monetize a website in order to gain a steady source of income or even sell that website to make a sizeable profit in a short time.
What does it mean when people talk about monetizing a site?
When bloggers, YouTube content creators or other individuals online speak about monetizing a site, they are referring to ways in which they can use their website to make money. Almost any type of content on the Web can be monetized, if you own it. Some investors also buy domain names and sell them. This process is known as domain flipping and it can be quite profitable.
If you have a blog on WordPress, Blogger, Wix or another popular platform, you can make changes to it that allow you to earn money from every page view. Similarly, if you own a website, you can earn when visitors to that site take specific actions, such as signing up for a course, purchasing a product or requesting information on a free program.
How can you monetize your website for free?
Whether you have a website thatâs focused on cars, perfume or raising chickens, you can monetize it today. If you already have traffic coming in to your site, there are several ways to leverage that traffic in order to earn money. Some website owners aim to earn just enough to cover the expenses of domain hosting and content creation but others want to pay their mortgage, fund family vacations and add to their IRA through the work that they do on their website.
Itâs entirely possible to earn $1,000 or more from your website each month. Some of the most popular ways of monetizing a site are:
Affiliate marketing
Selling your own products
Teaching a course
Display ads
Direct sponsorship
How To Collect Payments On Your Blog
Monetization options are usually free and most allow you to get paid by the provider of the program, so you donât have to handle credit cards yourself. For example, if youâre a ClickBank affiliate, your revenue will be transferred to your account from ClickBank. However, if you sell homemade jam on your home cooking website, youâll need to ensure that your site is set up to facilitate direct payments from your customers.
One of the easiest ways to collect payment for woodcrafts, handmade toys and other items that you might sell, is via Shopify or Woocommerce. You can also use PayPal Checkout to collect payments. Just log in to your PayPal account and under your Dashboard, click Quick Links and then Accept Payments.
Follow the steps and youâll be able to accept credit cards and other payment options. This can be done with Blogger, TypePad and most other blogging platforms. When you monetize your blog by selling your own physical or digital products, youâll keep 100% of the profits.
 Support Your Cause With Donations
Some bloggers use their blog to raise awareness about a cause thatâs important to them and others. For example, their blog may focus on HIV awareness or supporting people who have overcome serious injuries. You can add a Donate Now button to your blog, via PayPal, to complement other monetization strategies that you use to raise funds.
How do beginner bloggers make money?
Most beginner bloggers make money from display ads. For example, they may sign up for a program such as Google AdSense. AdSense creates ad blocks of different sizes. These ad blocks display content that matches the topic of your webpage.
For example, if your website is focused on tango techniques, the ads that are displayed will be related to tango lessons, tango costumes and so on. The correct ads will only be displayed if the keyword density and other relevant factors are correctly addressed
For example, if youâre targeting ads on âtango dance techniquesâ, your content canât keep mentioning âfly to Los Angelesâ. If the keyword density of the latter keyword is too high, you may see ads for airlines appearing on your tango website.
Bloggers can also sell ad space directly to businesses in their community or seek sponsorship from organizations that are connected to the theme of their blog. For example, if your blog is about a local sports team, a sporting goods retailer nearby may want to purchase ad space on your site.
How To Monetize Website for Beginners â Use Ad Networks
AdSense is a Google product and itâs an ad network thatâs available to bloggers who use Googleâs Blogger platform. Videographers who post content on YouTube can also monetize their videos by using AdSense.
With AdSense, you can place different types of display ads on your site, such as banner ads. Youâre free to experiment with the type of ads that you show on your site and if you find that banners arenât effective for you, you can adjust the size, color and other aspects of the ads via your dashboard.
Like other ad programs, AdSense is free. You donât have to pay any monthly fees and your account is credited every time a person views your webpage or clicks on your ad. The payment for page views is minimal but it adds up if youâre getting thousands of views a week. Youâll usually earn more for ad clicks than page views, especially if the ad is in a competitive niche, such as âlawyer in New Yorkâ or âmesothelioma lawyerâ.
Word Ads is another popular option, thatâs offered to bloggers who use the WordPress platform. As with AdSense, itâs ideal for beginners because itâs easy to set up. Like AdSense ads, the type of ads that are displayed depends on the type of content you have on the page. If you want to earn more money as a beginner, ensure that you create content that generates ads in competitive niches.
How To Monetize Website for Beginners â Focus On The Right Keywords
Itâs important to build your blog around profitable keywords. Tools are available to help you determine how much is being bid for an ad for a particular keyword. You can use Wordsstream or Keyword Spy to find out how much you could earn if a visitor clicks on an ad for a particular keyword. Ensure that you develop content on your webpage with these keywords in mind.
 How do you monetize yourself?
In order to monetize yourself, youâll need to create a personal brand. For example, consider Rihanna or Kim Kardashian. Whether you choose to like or dislike these women, theyâve both worked hard to create personal brands and leverage those brands to make money.
If youâre a teacher, think of how you can make your brand stand out. You can be known as the Geography teacher who makes other parts of the globe real to people of all ages. You would earn from your brand via speaking engagements that are hosted by tour companies, books that you write on travel or through semars you host which focus on applications of geography.
If you cook very well, you could build your personal brand around food. You may even choose to focus on a particular technique, taking advantage of trends in the market. For example, if you notice that consumers are moving towards healthier food preparation techniques, you could market yourself as the Steaming Chef, Raw Organic Chef or something similar.
You could teach courses on steaming different types of food and earn when peple pay to do those courses. The best thing about course creation is that once youâve created an online course, you can keep earning by giving viewers the freedom to use the materials, for a fee.
You might also create a library of courses. You could provide access to members who pay a one-time fee upfront or who pay a smaller fee each month. Subscription models bring in a steady stream of income for people in a wide range of sectors but youâll need to build your personal brand and leverage that.
How can I make my website profitable?
To make your website really profitable, youâll need to:
Select a profitable niche
Use profitable monetization strategies
Produce quality content that engages your attention
Drive traffic by using SEO, email lists and social media marketing
Use A/B testing to increase conversions
If youâve built a website but itâs not making a lot of money for you, there are several things that you can adjust to improve your profits. Sometimes new bloggers target a keyword that could pay a lot per click. However, they donât get any traffic or clicks because the keyword is too competitive.
Itâs important to check the level of competition that you have for a keyword before you start building your blog. Good keyword research is essential, whether you plan to sell products or create a membership site.
Sometimes bloggers decide to sign up for an affiliate marketing program. This means that whenever a visitor to their site takes a particular action, such as making a purchase on the partner site, the blogger will get a commission.
Unfortunately, some affiliate programs donât pay well. You may need to switch to a program with better rewards, to increase your earnings. A lot of Amazon affiliates saw their earnings plummet when Amazon drastically lowered the percentage that they paid as a commission.
Amazon did this overnight. Oftentimes, the best way to secure your siteâs revenue is to create and sell your own product. This includes ebooks, online courses and even apps.
 Flip A Domain
Domain flipping is one of the easiest ways to make money but youâll need to have money to invest. When you flip a domain, youâll purchase a domain name that you think will be in demand. You can sell that name at a higher price and make a profit.
This system works for several reasons. Googleâs ranking system considers the keywords that are in the domain name, so for SEO purposes, certain domain names are in high demand. When you aim to flip a domain to make a profit, youâll identify a good domain name and register it on a site like GoDaddy.
Different sites canât have the same name, so if a particular name gets a lot of traffic, a lot of people will want it. The competition for that name drives the price up. Itâs like buying an empty store in the busiest spot in a city. For example, these combinations are likely to be profitable:
DropshippingGuide com
Freegrocerycoupons.com
Cheapautoparts.com
Investors who buy domain names donât add content to the site. They just buy the domain name and sell it at a profit. They donât even need to worry about driving traffic to the name. This is what makes the process so easy.
Several investors look for expired domains. When you flip a domain thatâs expired, you can often get a good price for it. You can use sites such as DomainHunter.net and tools like Domain Hunter Gatherer to find expired domains.
 Flip A Website
Instead of just buying a domain name, some investors buy an entire website. This is more expensive than purchasing names but you can make a bigger profit. Empire Flippers often has websites for sale. These are in different niches, so you can often find one in an area that matches your expertise, passion or knowledge.
You can purchase a site that you like and even make adjustments that might make it even more profitable. You can sell it back and earn thousands of dollars. Youâll also collect all the revenue that the site generates while youâre waiting for it to be sold.
Of course, you can also sell a website that youâve built from scratch. If you donât want to only flip a domain and like the creative process, this will give you big returns. Some people like to build websites but the process of maintaining a website can feel restrictive. In that case, building, monetizing and then selling websites can help you to achieve your financial dreams.

It was early when you got to work, the sun was shining brightly and there was a light breeze flowing through the trees. You picked up the cup holder that held the coffees and got out of your car before locking it and going into the building.
The moment you walked through the doors of the Five-0 headquarters, you noticed Steve sat in his office doing paperwork. There was no surprise there, you would often come in and find him here. Thatâs why you bought two coffees every single morning, one for you and one for him. You and Steve had aâŠconnection. The two of you flirt constantly and youâre both aware of the mutual feelings, but neither of you has ever acted on them and who knew if you ever would.
You pushed Steveâs office door open and smiled at him when he looked up at you. âMorning, Commander,â you said with a bright smile. âI brought coffee.â
âMorning, sweetheart,â Steve grinned when Y/N came in. âThank you for the coffee,â he said as he took the coffee from them and took a sip, it was much needed. âSee, this is why youâre my favorite, you get my coffee order exactly the way I like it. Itâs perfect,â he told Y/N as they sat down on his couch.
Steve rarely called you by your name, he always called you sweetheart, it was his favorite nickname for you. The only time he called you Y/N was when you were in the field. âYou mean Dannyâs not your favorite?â you teased as he left his paperwork and came to sit with you on the couch.
âYouâve always been my favorite, sweetheart,â Steve replied.
âLetâs not tell Danny,â you joked.
âIâm sure Danny already knows youâre my favorite,â Steve said with a wink. âI mean, he does tease us all the time,â he chuckled.
You chuckled and nodded in agreement at that, the whole team teased you and Steve about your flirting, but Danny was the one who teased you the most. Before you could say anything, there was a knock at the door and Danny came in.
âSorry to interrupt the flirting,â Danny teased. âWe have something on those illegal weapons dealers weâve been looking for,â he told them.
âAlright, letâs get to work,â you said. Lately, you and the team had been tracking down a gang who were bringing illegal weapons into Oahu and then selling them off to cartels and even gun enthusiasts and anyone else who would buy them. Now it seemed like you finally had a break in the case.
âWhat have we got?â Steve asked as he, Y/N, and Danny joined the others at the table and he threw quickly drank the rest of his coffee before throwing the paper cup in the bin.
âPlease say we finally have a location or some kind of lead,â you said before drinking the rest of your coffee and then throwing it away.
âWe have a location. Weâve tracked them to a warehouse on Mokauea Street,â Chin replied, pulling up a satellite image of the warehouse.
âMakes sense that theyâd pick a place like that, itâs out of the way, it makes it easier for them to get the weapons and hide them there,â you said.
âWe need a plan to get in there, arrest these guys and get the guns,â Kono added.
âWeâll get S.W.A.T in on this. Weâll need the backup,â Lou said.
âLou, call S.W.A.T and tell them to meet us there,â Steve said. âLetâs get to work.â
After that, you and the rest of the team put on your bulletproof vests and headed to the warehouse. You ended up traveling with Danny and Steve in the Camaro, Danny had been kicked into the backseat by Steve while you were in the front.
âI canât believe Iâm sat in the back of my own car just because you two want to flirt,â Danny complained.
âI think someoneâs jealous,â you whispered to Steve.
âI think youâre right. He just hates that youâre my favorite,â Steve teased in a whisper. He gave Y/N a wink and a grin.
âOh my God, I wish you two would just get together already,â Danny grumbled.
Steve ignored Dannyâs comment and focused on driving. After a moment of silence, he reached over to the passenger seat and squeezed Y/Nâs hand. âI want you to stick with me in there, okay? I donât want anything to happen to you,â he said softly.
âYou got it,â you smiled at him, squeezing his hand.
When you got to the warehouse a few minutes later, the S.W.A.T team were already there. You listened to Steve as he gave everyone instructions on what positions he wanted them to be in. Everyone got into position and you were ready to go. You really hoped that this raid would be the end of this case.
âFive-0!â Steve yelled when he kicked down the door. Several gang members were there and instantly reacted by picking up assault rifles from the table they were stood around and aimed them at him, Y/N, and Danny, and the two members of the S.W.A.T team that were with them. âDrop the weapons and get on your knees,â he ordered. Of course, the gang members didnât listen and made a move to start firing at them. Thankfully, Steve and the others managed to shoot the gang members before any of them were hit. âEveryone okay? Anyone hit?â he asked, mainly looking at Y/N.
âWeâre fine, Steve,â you replied. You gave him a smile before you continued to go around the warehouse looking for more guns and gang members. The weapons that had been on the table had been gathered and removed from the building by S.W.A.T
As you walked through the warehouse, you heard a noise coming from the corridor. Steve, Danny, and the two S.W.A.T members were ahead of you by a few steps and obviously hadnât heard the noise. Part of you knew you should stay with Steve and the others, but another part of you, the cop side of you, knew that you needed to investigate the noise.
You split off from the team and headed down the corridor, making sure to keep your gun held up in front of you. The flashlight that was attached to your gun lit up the corridor so you could see where you were going. You came to a door and paused for a moment before pulling it open. You aimed your gun into the room and when you couldnât see anyone hiding, you stepped into the room and went to the large locker on the other side of the room. Whoever was here last had left it unlocked. âSeriously?â you muttered when you saw that the locker was empty. They must have taken whatever weapons theyâd had in there. You had just left the room and were walking down the corridor again when Steveâs worried voice came through the comms.
âY/N? Y/N, where are you?â Steve asked through the comms. He hadnât even noticed that Y/N has split off from him and the team until they all met up. He didnât know why theyâd gone off alone, he was worried, he hoped something hadnât happened.
âSearching rooms in a corridor, I heard something and Iâm just checking it out. Iâll meet up with you guys soon,â you told him.
âIâm coming to be your backup, I canât have you searching this place alone,â Steve said. He knew Y/N would say they were fine and he knew theyâd be able to handle themselves, but he still didnât like the thought of them being alone in this place. Especially when they still hadnât located the gang leader.
âSteve, Iâll be okay. Iâm almost done searching this corridor. Stay with Danny,â you replied.
âDannyâs with the others, youâre alone. Iâm coming to be your backup, sweetheart,â Steve said in a more authoritative tone.
âOkay,â you said. You knew there was no point arguing with him, there never was when it came to you. He always wanted you to be safe and you wanted him to be safe too. You gave Steve your location and continued to walk through the corridor towards another room.
You had just turned the corner when someone suddenly grabbed you from behind, they took your gun, tossed it on the ground, and then locked their arm around your waist and held a gun to your head. This wasnât good.
âDonât make a sound or I will blow your brains out, detective,â Bill, the leader of the gang, warned before dragging his hostage into a different room, far away from the one they had been going to. He sat Detective Y/L/N on the chair and quickly tied them to it after removing their bulletproof vest. He was soon joined by another gang member. âLetâs call the commander,â he said, taking Detective Y/L/Nâs phone from their pocket and pulling the comms out of their ear.
Steve and Danny, who had insisted on coming along, were walking through the building to get to where Y/N told them to go when Steveâs phone started ringing. He pulled it out of his pocket and furrowed his brows when he saw that it was Y/N calling. He answered the call and put it on speaker. âY/N? Is everything okay?â
âCommander McGarrett, Iâm sure you know who I am.â
âBill,â Steve said. Great, the leader of this gang had Y/N. âWhat have you done to Y/N?â he asked, he was very clearly angry.
âDonât worry, Commander, youâre precious Y/N is alive,â Bill replied. âIn fact, Iâll even let you talk to them since I know youâll want proof of life,â he said before putting the phone to Y/Nâs ear.
âSteve, Iâm sorry. I shouldnât have split off from you,â you said into the receiver.
âHey, hey, you listen to me, sweetheart, this is not your fault. Iâm gonna come get you, okay? Stay strong, Iâll be there real soon,â Steve reassured. He heard Bill on the other end again. âWhat do you want?â
âSimple. I want my guns back or Y/N dies,â Bill replied. âYou have ten minutes,â he added before hanging up.
Danny watched as Steve took the comms out of his ears and paced. His nostrils were flaring and his fists were clenched, he definitely wanted to punch something. âChin, we have a problem,â he said through the comms. âY/Nâs been taken hostage by the leader of the gang and is demanding the guns back.â
âDanny, S.W.A.T have just taken the guns, theyâre at least fifteen to twenty minutes away,â Chin sighed. âIâll call them and tell them to get back here,â he added. âKeep Steve calm, okay?â
âGot it. Thanks, Chin,â Danny replied. âSteve,â he said, putting a comforting hand on his friendâs shoulder.
âThe guns are gone, arenât they?â Steve said. It was more of a statement than a question.
âYeah, Chinâs calling S.W.A.T to get them back,â Danny said. âWeâll get Y/N back, Steve. I promise. For now, we need to figure out a plan.â
Ten minutes later, the guns still werenât here and now Bill was even more pissed off than before. He got Y/Nâs phone out of his pocket and called Steve again. âCommander, I told you to have the guns in ten minutes. Where are they?â
âThe guns are almost here, just give me ten more minutes, please,â Steve pleaded. The rest of the team had now joined them and they were trying to come up with a plan. They had searched room after room in the warehouse, but they still hadnât found Y/N. The only thing theyâd found was Y/Nâs gun.
âHmmm, fine, but Iâm going to stick to my promise. Y/N will be killed if I donât get my guns,â Bill warned. He clicked off the safety of his gun and shot Y/N in the shoulder which made the breath leave their body out of shock. âThe next one goes in their head,â he said before hanging up.
Steve felt like his heart had stopped when he heard the gun go off. Heâd heard the shot echo throughout the halls, so now he had an idea of where Y/N was. He moved to start going towards the sound but was stopped by Danny grabbing his arm.
âSteve, what the hell are you doing?â Danny asked.
âIâm gonna kill that son of a bitch,â Steve fumed.
âSteve, you storm in there now and Bill will kill you and Y/N,â Chin said. âAs hard as it is for us to not storm in there, we need to think about this and figure out a way to get in there and get Y/N out safely,â he added. He was just trying to reason with Steve.
âNo. We need to save them. We canât just let them die,â Steve told the team before racing off towards where heâd heard the sound. He couldnât just let Y/N be killed. He didnât care if he died rescuing them.
âWeâre going with him,â Lou told the others. They all agreed and they followed Steve.
Steve raced through the corridor, going in the direction that he had heard the gunshot come from. After kicking down a couple of doors, he found the right room. Bill, another gang member, and Y/N were in there. Bill and the other gang member aimed their guns at him, but Steve shot them before they could shoot him.
Pain. All you felt was an awful, burning hot pain radiating from your right shoulder where Bill had shot you. Youâd lost a lot of blood, but you stayed strong. You knew you needed to fight through the pain. You had tried to wriggle out of the zip ties that were keeping your hands bound. You almost had it when Steve burst into the room. You were overcome with joy and relief when you saw him. âThank you.â
Steve quickly untied Y/N and assessed the wound. It was through and through which meant it would be easier to treat the wound. âHey. I told you that Iâd come for you. Letâs get you out of here, sweetheart,â he said with a sweet smile as he helped Y/N up. He put both hands either side of their shoulder to put pressure on their wound.
You noticed the others at the doorway looking at you with relieved smiles on their faces. âGood to see you guys too,â you smiled. Steve walked you outside and the others walked behind you. You were immediately led to an ambulance so you could be taken to hospital where your wound could be properly treated.
âIâm coming to the hospital with you,â Steve told Y/N. There was no way he was going to leave their side now. âYou guys meet us there?â he asked the others.
âSure thing, boss,â Kono replied, closing the ambulance door behind Y/N and Steve.
âYou didnât have to come with me,â you said. The paramedic was working on the wound to stop the bleeding until you got to the hospital. Sheâd had to cut your shirt where the wound was.
âYes, I did, sweetheart. I shouldâve acted quicker, I should have gotten those guns back. If I had done that, then you wouldnât be sitting in this ambulance right now with a gunshot wound,â Steve replied, squeezing Y/Nâs hand.
âItâs not your fault that he shot me, Steve,â you told him. âBut Iâm glad you came for me. Thank you,â you smiled, linking your fingers with his.
âIâll always come for you,â Steve smiled back.
A few hours later, your wound had been treated and you had been given care instructions by the doctor. Steve hadnât left your side the whole time you were getting patched up.
Now, you were having a meal and some drinks with the team. Steve had insisted on driving you. Once you got to the restaurant, you were pulled into gentle hugs by everyone, they were all very happy to see that you were okay.
Ever since you got shot, you had been thinking about your relationship with Steve. You thought it was about time the two of you had a chat.
âHey, are you okay? Youâve been staring off into space like twenty minutes,â Kono whispered to Y/N who was sat looking at the ocean.
âOh, uh, yeah, Iâm fine,â you whispered back, looking at Kono with a little smile. She raised her eyebrow at you and you knew she didnât believe you. You looked over at Steve, who was standing over by the balcony chatting to Danny, Chin, Lou, Jerry, Max, Adam, Duke, Kamekona, and Flippa, and then you looked back at Kono. You were sitting with her, Grace, Charlie, and Sara. âI justâŠwhat happened today, itâs got me thinking about me and Steve. I feel like we need to talk about what exactly is going on between us,â you confessed.
âThen go talk to him,â Kono said. âHe wants this relationship just as much as you do. Go on, go talk to him. If you donât do it now, then you might not do it at all,â she smiled.
âYeah, youâre right, I have to do it now or Iâm just going to talk myself out of it,â you agreed as you stood up. Kono and Grace gave you a big thumbs up and Sara and Charlie grinned at you as you started walking towards Steve.
Steve had been chatting and laughing with his friends when Y/N came over. âHey, sweetheart,â he grinned. âGet bored of babysitting?â he joked as he gently and carefully draped his arm over their shoulders.
âOh no, not at all, babysitting is a lot of fun,â you replied, wrapping your arm around Steveâs waist. âSara even made us friendship bracelets,â you added, holding up your wrist to show off the white and blue band.
âAww, how sweet. Do I get one?â Steve asked.
âSheâs making us all one,â you smiled. âSteve, can we talk, please? In private?â you asked him rather shyly.
âSure. Letâs go onto the beach,â Steve smiled.
âOoh, theyâre taking romantic strolls on the beach now,â Danny teased, earning eye rolls from Y/N and Steve while the others chuckled. He and the others then went back over to the seats to leave the pair alone. Obviously, they were going to watch Y/N and Steve to see if anything happened.
Steve sat down on the sand next to Y/N and looked at the moonlight reflecting on the surface of the water. âSo, what did you want to talk about?â he asked curiously.
You took a deep, encouraging breath and looked at Steve, your eyes connecting with his. âI just. Steve, we both know we have feelings for each other and everyone else knows it too. Weâre always flirting, but neither of us has ever made a move to start anything and weâre always talking around it. Can we just clear this up, please? What exactly is going on between us?â
Steve was shocked by Y/Nâs sudden question. He hadnât been expecting that at all. Truth be told, he had been thinking about this too. What was going on between them? âI. Y/N, I really really like you and I know that you know that Iâve just never done anything about it because I thought it might get in the way at work, but I do want to explore these feelings,â he said nervously. âHow about dinner tomorrow night? We can start with that and go from there?â he suggested.
âThat sounds perfect,â you agreed with a smile.
The two of you sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. You had your head on his shoulder and he was holding your hand. âWe should probably head back to the others before one of them comes over and drags us back,â you joked.
âYeah, maybe,â Steve chuckled. Y/N made a move to get up off the sand, but he gently tugged on their hand so they stayed where they were. He let out a nervous chuckle when he saw their raised eyebrow. âUm, one more thing before we go back,â he started. âThereâs something that Iâve been wanting to do for a while now,â he said, turning so his whole body was facing Y/N. âI want to show you how much you mean to me because you deserve to be shown just how amazing you are. Iâm not the kind of guy to just pour my heart out and I really donât know why Iâm doing this now but-â he was cut off by Y/N putting their finger on his lips.
âSteve, youâre rambling. Whatever it is youâre getting at, just say it or do it,â you said, removing your finger from his lips.
Steve nodded, Y/N was right, he should just go for it. So, he took that moment of bravery that he now had and leaned forward, pressing his lips to Y/Nâs.
You were slightly taken aback by Steveâs kiss, but you were quick to respond. Steve cupped your cheek with his hand and you put your hand on top of his as you deepened the kiss slightly.
Steve pulled away from the kiss when they both needed to take a breath. He rested his forehead on theirs and smiled at them. âOkay, I can feel them all staring at us, we should get back over there.â
âYeah, we should. I can already hear Dannyâs comments,â you joked. You both got up off the sand and brushed the sand off your trousers before he took your hand in his and the two of you walked back to the others. They all had wide grins on their faces. âAlright, letâs hear it. We know you guys have things to say,â you joked as you and Steve sat down together.
âI wasnât gonna say anything, were you guys gonna say anything?â Lou said, looking at the others. Everyone apart from Danny shook their heads.
âWell, looks like Iâm gonna be the only one to comment on this,â Danny started. âI think I speak for all of us when I say itâs about time you two made a move on each other,â he grinned, the others chuckled.
âWeâre happy for you guys,â Kono said with a smile.
âWe really are,â Chin agreed.
âSo, whenâs your first date?â Kono asked.
âTomorrow night,â Steve replied.
âWhoa, you move fast,â Lou joked, making everyone laugh.
The rest of the night was spent joking and laughing with the people who you considered ohana. Jokes were shared and they still teased you and Steve, but it was all in good fun. At least the two had finally done something about the feelings you had for each other. You were happy and it was obvious that Steve was too. You couldnât wait to explore this relationship with him.
Thoughts?Â

Brand Yourself Online
Branding yourself online is a foundational step a lot of people skip in favor of marketing and advertising when looking at internet marketing solutions. We will help you understand how to proceed branding yourself online through helpful guide.
One of the most common outcomes is a loss of time and money. I have prepared this manuscript to help you avoid such pitfalls when trying to create a brand. This piece is solely aimed at branding your business; other aspects of internet marketing solution will be covered in different pieces.  Becoming an expert in any field requires a lot of practice and branding is not an exemption. It doesnât matter if your results are dismal, continuous improvements are bound to yield searing results, so stick to your ideas and trust the process.   Â
INTRODUCTION
Personal branding is the future and many people are oblivious to it. It is a big online money investment and will shape the future. Companies are beginning to focus on branding which is different from past times when the emphasis lay on products and services. Now there is a lot of prominence given to personal branding. Nike needs people to represent it and there is where Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods become significant. At a point, Jordan earned as much as all the menial workers under the employ if Nike in China did. Again, people love Apple, but a lot of that rests on the personality of Steve Jobs.    YOU CAN DO THIS!  Companies and celebrities spend a lot of money and time laundering their image because they are brands, and their success relies on public perception. Successful brands are built and maintained through time-tested strategies. Whether you already have a brand or just starting and need all the information you can get, studying successful brands and people and adopting their diverse strategies is the best path to build you internet marketing advertising.  What happens when your name is entered in Search Engines?  The internet marketing solution comes with several perks, and one of them is providing information as soon as you need it. People now look to search engines to provide them information about the people they meet. Hence, having the appropriate profile pop up during such searches becomes paramount for online advertising market. It speaks about your credibility and how youâre perceived.  How special is the name, the accurate perspective?  The truth is subject to perception and that is valid for all times. The implication? Branding is all that really matters. Your priority is having the ârightâ profile on search engines To be relevant and maintain this status, you need to brand yourself. In the 1980s, you would not want to consider conducting business with anyone who wasnât included on the yellow pages.  What pops up when someone searches you online?  Do you appear? Does the search yield any important information about you? Does the information cast you in positive terms? Is the first result an embarrassing one you would rather forget? You need to remember people are judged based on the first impression. People will use the limited data they have to form an opinion about several facets of your life. Hence the need to brand yourself to efficiently reach your online advertising market. Surprisingly for most people, branding is quite different from marketing. Branding is selling who you are or what you represent while marketing is selling and leveraging on your products and services. People have to identify with your brand, which means to have great marketing strategies; there is a need to start with branding or run it concurrently with marketing. This piece was created to help you take practical steps to brand yourself. A few of these steps will include marketing strategies because as I said earlier, you can run both simultaneously. Remember, branding is projecting the best version of yourself. Â
Getting Started
The Internet is âThe Oasisâ Just like in the adaptation âReady Player Oneâ, you can choose to be whatever you want to be. It doesnât really matter what you do as a person if you are invested in the idea. It also has to be something you love doing or good at. Also, remember that through all of this, you control the narrative. Having a dedicated website to get found on search engines is a great place to start and you need to have a domain name registered for that purpose. Having accounts on social media platforms is also a great help but owning a website is the best way to go.   If you are using an uncommon name, then it helps when creating a domain name for your website because you will rank high on most search engine results. Getting a dot.com domain name, Facebook, or channel on YouTube are good places to start this journey. Iâll be talking more on that as we go further into this topic. Domains are like untapped potential. The value depends on how you manage it.  Cyber squatters have realized a while back about the rich potential in domain names and have bought the most common ones you can think of but you can still think of a good one with some imagination. You can choose to buy from those listed for sale as internet marketing solution with a possibility of turning a profit in the future.  ICANN (international internet regulatory body) policies are making TLDs (Top Level Domains) easier to get extensions like .me, .name, .us, .co, etc. therefore providing an allowance for creativity. There will be options to purchase a domain name with different extensions. You can check platforms like GoDaddy, 1and1, and NameCheap for available domain names. Some domain names donât get renewed or are sold off on Flippa and Sedo. There is always a good option if you keep looking.  Be in Sync  When picking a domain name, a two-word string is an ideal choice because it is easy to remember and type into search engines. It also allows you to include a word that describes your brand e.g. VickysTiara. When choosing a name, consider if people will be able to find you with a quick search.  A good example is with a business named John Doe Enterprises LLC and sells tea, using your business name for your domain is probably not the smartest strategy.   Branding is the impression you create before a possible relationship can ensue. A relationship will be impossible with a poor first impression â Branding.  For a company selling tea, a name like HerbalOrganicTea or NaturalHerbalTea or JoeâsHerbalTea would be a great choice. You can choose a two-word string like BagdadTea or FischerâsTea. Using a two-word string that includes herbs is too broad and veers away from your product â tea. You can coin a fancy name using a pop culture or retro reference. You can also coin a name that attends to a problem your tea solves e.g. MenopauseTea. However, this streamlines your target market which means you need to be certain it is profitable for sustained growth. Remember, it is important to concert your efforts on one website than trying an SEM strategy of having several ones linked to a main website.  Websites are ranked based on their perceived value to consumers by Google and other search engines. Your website will rank higher with search engines if it contains pertinent information people are searching for. This shows that content can not be compromised on when branding, as people are continually looking out for added value. Finally, branding and marketing can be engaged concurrently to your advantage. Branding is making an initial impression while marketing is making it stick. Hence it is imperative to wisely choose ac inimitable brand name, which is also self-explanatory, search engine compatible and easy to recollect.  Donât lose a sense of what is right because you are online  Anyone can create an appealing brand and that is where differentiation matters. The little things like a good fashion sense are critical to standing out and if you need to get help with that, then get it. You should leave no stones unturned when growing your presence online. For example, psychological and emotive prompts are needed for some niches. For a brand into car sales, you need to create a different mood and sense of comfort compared to one selling condos or insurance.  Branding offline and online have the same rudiments to their operations. So, you can adopt some of the things you have observed from daily activities of thriving brands and project it onto yours. Your focus should rest on how your actions and ads affect your audience â your opinion is trivial. You might be sentimental about cyan but if your prospects prefer green, red and black then you must please them.  What age range or communities should you be targeting? What strategies are being employed by your competition? Are these strategies you can successfully adopt? Even a lot of international brands have more similarities than not. Microsoft had to make sure people across the globe bought into âBingâ And that cost a few millions and over 12 months.  An avoidable mistake hurts more in retrospect and a little devotion to understanding your audience is always a great help. So, if you need to ask questions from experts to aid your cause, please do.   Finesse not Flattery  You should be settled on a name by now or something close by now. It is not uncommon that your preferred domain name has already been taken and thatâs where a few backups come in handy. Also finding the perfect name in GoDaddy is never enough, the name should also be available across all social media platforms. This is because you want your prospects or customers to be able to find you on these platforms with a simple search of the same keyword as you have for your domain name. However, this rule isnât set in stone, so you are afforded a little leeway. With the right branding, visitors to your different pages will be sure they have the proper account. JaneDoe.com and  TheJaneDoe on Youtube should fly. The aim is to mesh all your accounts in a functional unit. If you have a common name like Bill or John, then you might need to use an alias till people come to associate it with you and several examples abound with celebrities. Most musicians donât use their real names and no one cars to know what they are. That is what you call successful branding.  The Internet Always Remembers  Coming up with a unique name for your brand is essential when moving forward. Trying to build your brand with a name which is synonymous with another brand or popular personality can undo all the progress you have made. You can borrow ideas from others and play around that, but it is imperative to understand that there is a thin line between borrowing ideas and infringing on the intellectual property of others. You can use a popular name for a hobby, but you risk a lawsuit if your popularity spikes or you make enough money to catch the notice of the brand owner.    Â
Part 2: Letâs Work Online
Portrait Shots  A fitting mugshot or portrait is critical for promoting your brand. It doesnât have to be taken by a professional photographer or in a studio. Just find something decent and fitting for your campaign. An overtly edited photo is ill-advised as a lot of your audience will think you are fake and unrelatable. Again, this isnât set in stone, and as a glamour model or aspiring actor, you might need to add a few professional shots to your catalog. Your picture doesnât have to depict too much skin unless that is what your brand is trying to sell. Cosmetics and skin products or a personal training coach are some probable exceptions. You should look to have a picture with a smiling and friendly face. Also ensure your face is conspicuous, refrain from using glasses or other things like hats, that will obscure your face. The picture you upload must be one which conveys genuineness and warmth. If youâre meeting with your audience, then think of your picture as the complimentary handshake that comes with an introduction. Simple backgrounds are best to avoid distractions from the focus â your face. Your clothes and face should contrast with the background. Also, you should have a smile on your face but like I said earlier, you can play around till you find whatâs best for you.  People find it easier to relate online to someone they think is real â not being superficial  It is okay not to use a personal photo for your brand, a lot of brands stick to logos. Just look at KFCâs logo and itâs a mixture of both. Whichever option you decide to go with, ensure it is the same one you stick to on all your social media accounts and website. If you opt to have a makeover, then any changes you make should cut across all of your accounts. Having a business isnât a criterion for creating your; logo. Remember that the aim isnât to appear queer or weird with your pictures, logos or drawn images like that of KFC â a horrid caricature wonât win you many patrons or followers. Next is contact information for those who want to get across to you. You need to provide a genuine one.  When you are asked to provide a username while signing up to a social media platform and you choose a name like âsenorita69â to draw in followers. Well, thatâs not branding! Itâs only a recipe for disaster like writing your number on the wall of a public restroom or sauna.    Avoid Cheap Mistakes  You need to be careful and avoid some common errors. For example, it is common knowledge not to provide your personal line on your site. The result will be an obscene number of unsolicited calls. Using a second line, setting up a voicemail or GoogleVoice. Even if your brand is still in its early stages, getting a dedicated line doesnât hurt. Instead, it shows your commitment and intention to building a good brand as online money investment.  Just in the same way you have elected to have a dedicated email address, Twitter, Skype, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat accounts all dedicated to your brand. You can either register a general email address with one of the several mail companies like Google or Yahoo or set up an email address with your domain registrar e.g. [email protected]. This service can range from being free to a few bucks a month. You can sync your Apple/Microsoft/Google accounts to your devices and easily setup your emailing services. You can have your dedicated mailing accounts synced with your online accounts.  Create a list of your accounts and including contact information. You should also endeavor to guard the social media accounts you have created. Donât ignore a chance to create a more professional social media presence with your accounts. This can range from changing the usernames on your social media accounts to creating entirely new ones to suit changes in your aspirations. Never be too caught up while managing your accounts and mix them with personal accounts; that can be an embarrassing episode for you. If you care enough and pay adequate attention, you should be able to avoid such an experience.   The Social Media Whirlpool  It is easy to get swept by the distractions of social media platforms, and you need to remain focused to avoid being swept away with it. Surfing through your personal accounts during a weekend is completely fine, but treating your brand like a serious job on a weekday is the best way to go. If you show the needed commitment, then your social media accounts can make you a lot of money. With a vibrant online advertising market, there is a lot of money to be made by applying the right tools.  You will attract a lot of businesses and people who are willing to do business with you by maintaining the right profile. Some of the vital platforms to have an account on include; Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest in no order. Iâll suggest you pick a few at a time to grow them before adding the others, else you can become overwhelmed by the time required to run them concurrently while growing your brand in the early stages.  Since Google has the largest search engine then using Youtube and Goggle+ ensure you will appear in a lot of search results. Along with Facebook, you can create enough content to be exposed to a large portion of internet users who are your target audience.   Google is King  As stated earlier, posting on YouTube and Google+ helps you appear on Googleâs search engine results. This is a wonderful advantage as you donât need to know any basic SEO tips or blogging tips. I wonât go deeply into online marketing and advertising in this report as this was solely made for branding. Social media platforms vary in the demography of its users and Linkedin is a prime example. It is mainly made for networking among professionals with a lot of business owners, recruiters, and job seekers. There is a lower probability to run into a fake profile than you would find on Facebook, twitter and others.  Although, Facebook and Pinterest provide more laid-back content and you can find a wide range of content on YouTube. My point is there are different benefits of creating accounts on the different platforms. Musicians and artists will probably prefer MySpace and DevianART respectively, but you can still use it to your advantage and run them along with the main social media platforms earlier stated. Also, I mentioned expanding the number of platforms you use to grow your brand, other examples include; Tumblr, Lockerz, About.me, RebelMouse etc. There will continue to be changes on the social media front but investing in those backed by Google or Facebook is the smartest choice.  To make the most of your time, ensure you post something relevant and helpful to your audience and try not to exceed the 30-minute mark before moving to the next platform. With any consistency, you would have a flourishing brand in no time. But remember, relevant content only that will target your online advertising market.   Whatâs Next?  So whatâs next you might ask. Well, how do you build your brand with the accounts and websites you have created. Letâs take a scenario in which you are attending a weekend game and you are dressed informally, right? Well, think again. A polo shirt, trousers and matching footwear comes to mind. Why not take advantage of the opportunity to meet new people and advertise your brand. You can put on an outfit with your logo embroidered onto the top and your cap or hat. The same goes for your vehicle if you are willing to go that far in sensitizing the public.  Complimentary cards advertising your business wonât hurt your cause either. A lot of people wonât know what you do unless you inform them â subtly or directly telling them. Either of those works as you can inform them and create awareness.  Once you have your accounts set up with your pictures or logos, and you have a verifiable contact information and website through which you can be reached and also have an internet marketing solution. Your website should have a link to all your social media accounts to direct visitors to your accounts on each platform easily. Including an âAbout Me,â where possible, on each of these platforms is good especially if they first find you on those platforms. On your YouTube channel, you can have playlists for your uploaded videos making it easy for visitors to access them.   Your social media profiles are meant to help publicize your brand, so take full advantage of the opportunities they afford you.  You might be wondering if itâs necessary to create an account on every single platform. Well, yes you should. Basically, these platforms create an avenue for a free internet marketing solution, and you would be selling yourself short by owning just one or two accounts out of the lot out there. The reason is quite simple; several individuals restrict themselves to one or two platforms even though they own other accounts. What can I say? They only feel comfortable on there and you must seek them out by creating an online presence there.  Next is a basic SEO tip which is important because there are other search engine platforms apart from Google and you would want to be seen on those as well. They include; Dogpile, Yahoo, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. Because these search engines are in a competition, you have to create content that will be visible on each of them. They all change their algorithms to give a better experience for their users and also stay relevant. And since they donât like working together, you need to have search results in each of them. Google is, no doubt, the largest but we are focused on having as much presence as possible. By putting up as much content as possible, the search engines will all show results and help advertise your brand and start making money online.  There will be a few things you need to outsource because you either are too busy or lack the skill to do it. This can range from graphics design to copywriting or a virtual assistant. You can find help on a lot of freelance sites where these services are offered. Some of them include; Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer etc.  Also, Odesk and Elance are forums where you can get help with managing your social media accounts if you are feeling overwhelmed. Once you provided them with some of the information they need, they will have you up and running in no time.   Ready, Set, Go  My best advice for you is synonymous with Nikeâs mantra, âjust do it.â Big brands and businesses once started out in small closets and garages. You can get to your destination while taking small baby steps. At a sustained rate, you will grow, and those steps will turn to sprints with the right motivation.   Little Drops Make an Ocean  Not everyone has a detailed plan about their future or how to get there and that is fine. You can make mistakes and follow the learning process. The only problem occurs when you procrastinate. Procrastination keeps you in a bubble and takes you no closer to your goals. Any progress is still progress and you can always make improvements along the way till you attain your goals.  No one has all the answers to the questions life poses at us and this means you can rehash your plans when they donât work or move you closer to your goals. I am a firm believer in âredosâ because that is the only way we learn and make true growth.  Be Humble   Pride is a common weakness for a lot of people and it rarely ever helps. I am a firm believer in having a positive disposition and picture of yourself and the future. However, this shouldnât make you be too idealistic and neglect working hard and honestly to achieve the image you have created for yourself.  Remember, nothing good is achieved by wishing it to existence and that only happens in Aladdin and other fairy tales. It is always important to keep a positive attitude regardless of the circumstances. People prefer to learn about a âgrass to graceâ story because it motivates them, and it is true.  Â
Branding is the image people see and should always reflect your inner self. Hence the need to always be honest with yourself and eventually, others. This is the easiest way to build your brand online because you will help others be their best by offering them the best version of you.We have helpful resources too that you can read.

Dear Hannah
I dont understand you. It is really hard for me to hang out with you because I just dont know what to think of you. For one part I want to be there for you. You are stressed of your current situation with the teamleader position, uni and so much more. You are in kind of a deep hole right now and I want to try to help you with just being there for you. You seemed to like it to just sit down and have a drink and talk. Its relaxing. And you say you like me. Thats nice. But at the same time you seem to hate me? We were coworkers and then I quit but I am still employed because of my overtime I need to get payed. I also help out at work if really needed. Now you are in charge of a lot of things because you need the money. There is also Flippa that wasnt even employed anymore and you never said something about that he should leave the work whatsapp group. Then he found another job and left by himself. Since then you kept making comments about what I am still doing in this group and stuff. You always made it seem like it was a joke but lets be real. Everyone knew you meant it. And so I left too. I mean why not. I understand this. But what confuses me is you texting me right after about why I just left and that it was just meant to be funny. I shrugged it off because what am I supposed to do? The teamleader said I should leave so I left. No questions asked. I told her if she really wants me back in this group just put me back. She never did or answered me on this message. And then I get a screenshot from another coworker from the group chat where Hannah and some others were jokingly crying about me leaving. Thats okay too I mean we are kind of like a family. But then I get another screenshot. Its a privat chat between Hannah and this other coworker named Kati. Kati asked Hannah what this was and told her to put me back in the group. Hannah just said that I was annoying and needed to leave because I dont work there anymore so I should leave. She never said anything to flippa. I shrugged this also off because I hate stress and I mean Hannah made her point to me. What am I supposed to do? I thought I made sure to only write usefull stuff in the group and only reply when I was not undermining an important message but maybe I was wrong. I just think its hard to hear.
But this isnt the only thing. When we are alone everything is cool. When we are in a group she seemed to hate me. Everything I do is weird and stuff. I mean like yes its again funny but sometimes it is so obviously that she just thinks I am annoying and it hurts! Dont tell me I am cool when we are alone but then destroy me when we are in a group. And I am not the only one who realized this exact thing. There is another person who thinks the same things about Hannah. I just think in Hannahs eyes we are not on her and the others level and she wants us to know but at the same time doesnt want to be the asshole. It just hurts. Just yesterday was a really little thing that happened but we were in the middle of a city. In the evening. And there was a cat. I already know I am weird and loud and kind of hyperactive so I really try to stop me from beeing too weird like screaming "THER IS A CAT!" when there is a cat. So I ignored the cat. But then two minutes later someone else screams the exact same thing and Hannah and some more started stalking the cat because she is cute and stuff. The only thing running through my head was "If I had said that I would get this annoyed funny look from Hannah and some comment that would underline how much of a weirdo I am. And it is just a cat." Its sad to not be able to time travel to test this exact thing. Its just hurtfull. Sometime Hannah seems to not realize how much she talks me down. She just does it. The even more sad part is that to few people seem to care. Like there is this other person who I said is experiencing the same thing. And yesterday another person also seemed to see this in this exact situation. But at the end everyone else doesnt seem to care because they just laught about the 'joke' Hannah wraps these comments in. I am so close to ening this friendshit. I am all about cutting out toxic people even when this would be my first time I actively do something insteadd of just slowly cutting the contact. But first I should talk about this with her.
I would like to think that this is all just because she is in an depressive and stressfull part of her life.

Since I have writerâs block (for the 8th consecutive month) I decided to post a WIP (most likely never to be finished) that was written years ago. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Danny didnât look away from the radiant bride when his partner sat down beside him. He heard Steve sigh, felt the cool glass of a beer bottle against his leg from through his suitâs pants and the weight of an arm laying more across his shoulders than the back of his chair.Â
âThanks,â he took the bottle by the nozzle and took a long pull from it.Â
Steveâs eyes were boring into his cheek, but he couldnât snap out of his daze. The last three days have been a whirlwind. From Rachel dropping the Charlie-bomb on him to the actual bomb dropping just hours before now, his mind hasnât had time to slow down. Now that he can, he doesnât know what to think of it all.Â
Kono is one of the most gorgeous brides heâs seen. Adam is beautiful himself, admittedly. Together they are picture perfect. Their vows were beautiful, the kind where they talk about how hard it was getting to this point, how worth it the struggle had been, the kind where even tough guys like Lou tear up.Â
Though the words were touching, Danny had trouble focusing on them. At least, he had trouble keeping the context about Kono and Adam. He told himself the night before he was not going to get emotional and sentimental and in his eyes, selfish. But Kono was pouring her heart out about sacrifice and loyalty and risk and when Steveâs elbow lightly nudged into Dannyâs side, and he saw his partner smile back at him, the bride and groom were the last things he pictured.Â
He caught himself looking at the side of Steveâs head more times than heâd like, and every once in a while, he thought he felt Steve do the same. When the minister asked for the rings, he snapped out of it and put on his best-groomsmen smile.Â
âCorrect me if Iâm wrong, but is this not the singles table?â Steveâs voice broke him out of his reverie.Â
Danny sighed and sunk back into his chair, only to feel Steveâs arm and lean forward with his elbows on his knees. The beer hung between his legs as he picked at the painted label.
âJust keeping these lonely men company,â Danny nudged his head towards Kame and Flippa; they were the only ones at the table, fighting forks over a piece of meat on Kameâs plate. They didnât realize they could get another plate of food if they asked. Their idiocy is enough to make Danny smile; or maybe thatâs Steveâs warm chuckle.Â
âWho you calling lonely, brah?â Kamekona lifted his head to narrow his eyes at the pair, âI could land any chick in this joint.â
âHey, if your landing skills with ladies are as good as your helicopter landing skills, I highly doubt that, my friend,â Danny teased. Flippa took this time to grab the pork chop by the bone and tear into it with a grin. Steve and Danny shook their heads at the two who began bickering.Â
âLooks like Jerry isnât doing so bad,â Steve pointed the bottom of his bottle towards the dance floor. Shaw was in his arms, letting him twist her around and was nice enough to laugh it off when he almost dropped her. After accidently stepping on her toes again, she held up a finger, stepped out of her heels and lifted herself onto his shoes. Danny smiled at Jerryâs blush when she rested her head on his big chest and wrapped her arms around his neck.Â
âYeah, theyâre a good pair.â
âSpeaking of pairs,â Steve nudged his knee with his own, âI thought AmbâMelissa was coming.â
âYou want to know what I hate about weddings?â Danny straightened his back to dive into his rant. Steve rolled his eyes at the change of subject, not that he expected anything else, and nodded for his partner to continue. He would have anyways, âYou could be in the best relationship in the world; literally, the best youâve had. You wake up to a beautiful girl every morning, you come home to her at night. Everythingâs great. But then your friend gets engaged and hey, thatâs fantastic and everything, but all of a sudden your relationship doesnât seem so great. Because if it was so great, why arenât you the one engaged, huh? Whatâs wrong with you that you arenât getting married?â
âAre you saying you want to get married, Danny?â âNo, that is not what Iâm saying.â
âAre you saying Melissa wants to get married?â âNo, Iâm not saying that either.â
âThen what are you getting at, Danny?â
He thinks about how he spent the last few days stressing about not knowing there was a little him running around out there, about how he thought there was three years ago only to be told ânopeâ and now âjust kidding.â He thinks about how pissed he is and how scared he is. He thinks about how he wants to vent all this out to someone and how that person should be Melissa, but it isnât.Â
He thinks about how she should have been on his mind during those vows, but she wasnât. And he thinks about how heâs spent the last half hour sulking at a table with the largest occupants of Hawaii fighting over a pork chop when he should be spinning his girl around on the dance floor. But he canât because heâs screwed it all up.
âIâm saying that you could be in the spot youâve always wanted to be with someone, and a wedding could change all your thoughts about it. Iâm saying I was happyâŠor at least blissfully unaware of how unhappy I actually amâŠuntil today; and itâs all because of this stupid freakinâ wedding.â
He can feel Steve shift beside him. Steveâs arm comes into his line of sight to grab the beer from his hands and sets it on the table behind them along with his own. While Danny closes his eyes tight, Steve stands and buttons his jacket.Â
Catherine is talking with Lou and his wife by a large vase. He had been part of that conversation until he spotted Danny by himself. The sight made his chest ache; with everything his partner as been through these last few days, he had hoped he would relax a bit at the wedding. For a little while Danny was smiling and cheering on the newly married couple and he spun Grace a round when appetizers and drinks were being passed around. Now Grace was dancing with Naheleâsuper cute, by the wayâand Steve had been too occupied to notice how his partner was no longer enjoying himself.
âLetâs get some fresh air,â Steve suggested with a hand out for Danny to take. The blond rolled his eyes up at him.
âWeâre already outside, Steven.â âYou know what I mean. Câmon. Letâs go.â With a sigh, Danny agreed. He grabbed his jacket off the back of his chair, crumpling it in his fist without a care about wrinkles, and followed Steve towards the stone stairs leading towards the beach.Â
Most wedding guests stayed upstairs where the music, food, and drinks were happening, but a few wondered down to the shore or towards the golf course. There were carts lining underneath the curve of the earthâs wall. Steve stepped into the driverâs side of the nearest one without a word. His partner hesitated but he preferred whatever Steve had in mind to staying upstairs and sulking.
They drove in silence; Steve took them around the sands and towards the main building of the club. There was a small gazebo he considered going to sit under, but instead, put the cart into park facing the water and leaned back with a sigh.Â
âWhat happened with Melissa?â
Danny was wringing the black jacket in his lap, working his lip with his teeth and refusing to look at Steve. His already narrowed eyes squinted up towards the water, both blue surfaces reflecting the setting sun in a way that made Steveâs breath hitch. He swallowed that thought down, shifting in his seat so he was angled towards his partner but he looked past him at the cars pulling in and out of the lot.Â
âI told her about Charlie.â Danny started slowly. âShe was mad.â âShe left you because of Charlie? Danny, that isââ
âWhoa-hoo, hey,â Danny finally looked at him. He held his hand up, making Steveâs aneurysm face fall just a fraction, âsettle down, Rambo, until you hear the full story. She did not leave me because of Charlie; youâre right, that would have been an absurd, terrible thing to do and if she even suggested it I would have broken up with her before she could.â
âBut she did leave you.â It wasnât a question; they both knew it.
âI explained to her how three years ago, Rachel and IâŠgot back together so to speak,â Danny winced at the thought; from the corner of his eye he could see Steve do the same. Steve never approved of the little affair Danny started, but he never voiced his judgment either. When it happened, Danny was at the happiest he had seen him. He wasnât going to ruin that. Rachel did that for him.Â
âHow she told me she was pregnant and wanted to move back to Jersey. But then you got arrested and I stayed here and then Rachel told me the baby was Stanâs, onlyâŠyou know the rest.â
Steve nodded slowly. He does know the rest.Â
âWell, then she asked me why I would stay in Hawaii when I knew Rachel was waiting for me in Jersey with our baby. I explained that it was important that I stayed because you were innocentâI didnât say what happened, she doesnât need to know that and it doesnât need to be brought up ever againâI explained you were innocent and I was the only one who seemed to care about clearing your name. IâŠI couldnât just leave you in prison.â âIâm not really getting what Melissa would be so upset about.â Danny took a deep breath through his mouth and bit his lip. He smiled sadly to himself and busied himself by picking at a raised thread on his knee. âShe didnât get upset, Steve. At least, not then. It wasâŠI started overly explaining myself to her over something I never thought I needed to, and I caught myself explaining that every single time something bad happens to either one of us, the other was there. No matter what. Thatâs just how it is.â
Danny saw the corner of Steveâs mouth lift. Even from the corner of his eye, the sight made Danny feel warm everywhere. He ran a hand through his hair and fought the urge to sigh again. Thatâs all heâs been doing for three days.Â
âI justâŠI realized that whenever something tough comes along, I go to you. Instinctively, thatâs what I do; I donât even really think about it, I justâŠend up going to you. And thatâs wrong, Steve. Right? Donât you think itâs wrong? I should want to go to her, I should want to tell her when something bad happens when something good happens when something so mediocre and does not matter at all happens. But I donât.â
âDannoââ âDonât get me wrong. I enjoy the time I spend with Melissa, I do. And after everything with her ex, I wanted things to work even more between us because she deserves a good thing just as much as I do. But thereâs nothing special about us. Weâre a good thing, but we arenât a great thing. I-Iâve been trying to make it work, Iâve been trying to just let myself be happy and to let this happen like you said but thatâs not a good enough reason to be in a relationship, Steve. Itâs not. I couldnât keep leading her on until I actually meant it because God knows itâs a possibility it might never happen with me. It wasnât fair to Melissa. Wasnât fair to me either.â
âWait, wait, wait,â Steve flicked his wrist, making his fingers knock into Dannyâs bicep. The brush made his flesh prickle and his back shiver. When he looked over at the taller man, Steve was sported serious-Aneurysm face. He looked confused and worried, but between those squinted eyelids were hopeful eyes. Danny doesnât know what he could be hopeful about, but it made his stomach flip with anticipation. âYou-You broke up with her?â
All Danny could do is nod.Â
Steveâs back flipped against the seat of the golf cart and his arms dropped to his sides in one fluid motion. He stared blankly out the windshield with his jaw clenched. Danny watched the veins of his neck pulse with each clench, his Adamâs apple rise and fall with a swallow. He shook his head and faced forward himself; if he kept watching like a creep he doesnât know what would happen.Â
âThatâŠthat sucks, buddy,â Steve finally spoke. His voice was low and warm and made Dannyâs palms sweat. âIâm sorry.â
âDonât be sorry over me,â Danny waved it off with a shrug, âIf anything, feel sorry for Melissa; sheâs the one who got dumped two hours before a wedding.â
It was a joke; at least, Danny meant it as one. Steve was polite enough to scuff, but neither of them found it very funny. They sat in the cart in silence for a few minutes. The roof above them shielded them from the sun, and though it was setting and the air was cooling, it was still warm with their black tuxes. If Danny was brave enough to look, he would notice the beads of sweat gathering on the back of Steveâs neck. It was sinful, therefore he would not look.
âCatherine asked me how long I wanted her to stay,â That was not what Danny thought he would say. He wasnât sure what he was going to say, but that wasnât it.
âAnd what did you say?â âNothing,â Steve sighed. âMy phone rang and then we had to drop the bomb into the water and then we were hereâŠwe havenât talked about it again yet.â
Danny nodded attentively, biting the inside of his cheek to stop himself from screaming âtell her not to stay.â He loved Catherine, he did. Okay, maybe love is a strong word. He definitely had a strong liking for her; sheâs a fantastic woman after all.Â
Sheâs extremely beautiful, intelligent and caring. He liked when she was around and helping the team last year; but he didnât like how she left things with Steve, not one bit, and if he was being honestâwhich heâs been trying to be more often nowâthen heâd admit he didnât have the best time watching the couple be around each other when she was staying with McGarrett. It put a strain on his relationship with Steve, whether they noticed it or not, and it may be selfish, but Dannyâs glad Catherine left.
âOkay, so,â Danny shifted so he was towards Steve this time, âWhat are you going to say to her then?â
âI-I donât know. Having Catherine back is great; it is. I canât describe how it felt when I saw her yesterday,â good, donât, Danny thought with a frown. âAnd I wish things could go back to how they were before. But I know thatâs not what she wants and thatâs not whatâs going to happen if we start things up again; it would be more serious, it would beâŠpermanent. And I just donât think I can do that with her.â
âWhat? You canât picture you both old and gray with little Rambos and Rambettes running around?â Danny teased with a smile. The words made him want to vomit.Â
Steve smiled just slightly before he turned his head away to frown at the trees blowing in the wind. âHonestly?â âHonesty would be good, yeah.â âNo, I donât.â Steve turned to look at him, but something made him move away. Danny tried not to be too disappointed at the shade, and he grew more upset when Steve went to fiddle with the ignition of the cart. He didnât start it up, but he kept his fingers there just in case he changed his mind.Â
On one hand, they should get back to the wedding they left without a word. Kono would be upset if she found out they disappeared; although, Steve canât help but picture her growing smirk at the thought of them leaving together. He shook his head at the thought. Out of all their team, sheâs the most perceptive and throws him looks when he catches himself staring at Danny too much. When he told her Catherine had arrived, he swore he saw her eyes frown before she smiled with excitement.Â
He didnât want to go back to the wedding, though; he was enjoying spending this time with Danny. They havenât just sat and talked in a while; not counting the last few days. In the last few months, there has been something pushing them apart. Maybe it was Steve himself; yeah, he can fess up to that. But it also felt like Danny too. Whatever it was causing them to do that, though, that was beyond him. These moments were what he cherished about their friendship; they could talk about anything or not talk at all, and heâd be more at ease there than anywhere else.
âI love Catherine, I do,â Steve said, mostly to himself. He saw Danny bit his lip from the corner of his eye. âBut I canât put myself out there with her again. Like you said, I shouldnât be in a relationship just because I want it to work for the other person. I should want it too. Right? I mean, if I wanted this, I would have told her already. Right?â he asked Danny like he was unsure of it all, but Danny could tell in Steveâs eyes he was settled.Â
Things were Catherine were done; it took her coming back for that to finalize in his head.Dannyâs heart started racing against his ribcage.Â
It was now completely dark outside, bug chirping and the distant sound of a party blending with the ocean tides. Steve was searching his face for answers Danny didnât have. At least, he didnât want to give them because his reasons for them were selfish. He canât exactly tell Steve, âDonât be with Catherine because I might have feelings for you that could be strong but then again Iâm not sure itâs what I want either, but I still donât want you with her.â
Or could he? No, he canât. Danny sighed and ran his hands over his face once more, âWe should get back.â
Steve was nodding, adding pressure to the keys in the ignition, making the cart roar to life, but he made no move to get them going. After a minute he turned to look at Danny with serious eyes, âHow come we both can never get this relationship thing right?â
A laugh bubbled out of Dannyâs stomach. It was out before he could stop it, making him feel manic and wild. Through tearful eyes, he saw Steve grin too and he finally started the cart while Danny shook his head. âThat I do not know, babe. Maybe weâre just going for the wrong people.âÂ
It was when they were walking the stone stairs again that Steve finally replied, âMaybe we should just date each other,â he was smiling jokingly, but if Danny could see his eyes, they were dead serious. It was a thought Steve caught himself thinking many times over the last five years; it just never felt soâŠdesperately possible until this last year.
Danny let out a short chuckle as if the joke was amusing. On the inside, his heart was pounding, making his stomach drop and his brain sort of shut down. âNot a bad thought. After all, weâre already married.â
That seemed to get them back to normal. Steve chuckled, patting Danny between the shoulder blades as they reached the group and everything felt light again.Â
âWhere did you two sneak off to? Weâre about to cut the cake,â Kono tried scolding them but the radiant smile on her face never filtered. Danny gave her cheek a kiss.âTry not to hate us too much.â
She swatted his chest and accepted the kiss Steve gave her other cheek, âOkay, fine, Iâll forgive you. But only because they keep taking away my plates before I could eat them and Iâm starving. This cake might be the only food from my wedding Iâll actually get to eat.â
The cake was delicious, unsurprisingly. Danny ate it at the table with Steve, Catherine, Lou, his wife, Chin, Lalani, Samantha, and Grace. With his daughter on his lap, trying to steal his piece of cake though she already ate all of hers, and his friends around him laughing and smiling, Danny felt better.Â
Some of the weight on his chest was lifted; though a little more was added as well whenever he looked to his left to see Steve staring at him with that look that makes his whole world turn. And then Catherine would touch his arm and Steve would look away from him to her and give her that smile and Danny was back to square one.
âHey, hey, hey,â Danny blocked Graceâs fork with his own, âPaws off the cake, Monkey. You had your own.â
âBut itâs so good,â Grace whined around the mouthful she had. The table chuckled, making her smile and go for some more. Danny slid the plate away, making her squeak, âDanno!â
âDonât Danno me. This is mine,â he made a show of taking a big bite, wiggling his nose at her when she scrunched hers. She copied the motion against his and smiled when he pressed a frosted kiss on her nose.Â
âHere, Gracie, you can have mine,â Steve offered. Graceâs eyes widened at the sight of untouched vanilla.Â
âYouâre the best Uncle Steve,â she beamed and maneuvered off her dadâs lap to settle onto Steveâs. She dove into the cake immediately but lifted her elbow over his in a way of a hug as she ate.Â
Danny gawked at the two. Steve was grinning with pride, the tips of his ears pink in the way he gets whenever Grace gives him affection that he doesnât think he deserves. Danny swallowed heavily at the sight and tried not to show how happy he was to see the two together. Whenever they were, his heart raced and his world felt whole.
âTraitors, the both of you.âGrace ended up staying on Steveâs lap while everyone talked for a while more.
By the time Kono made another round past their table, Grace was fast asleep against her uncleâs shoulder. He had one arm on the table with her arm still draped over it and the other arm around her waist to keep her from falling. He didnât mind the weight one bit.
âAw, sheâs all tuckered out,â Kono ran the back of her fingers against Graceâs hair. The girl didnât even stir.Â
âShe crashed from her sugar high because someone allowed her two whole other pieces of cake,â Danny shot a glare over at his partner. Steve rolled his eyes from over Graceâs head, but when he ducked his head down to kiss Graceâs hair, he was smiling.Â
Kono laughed, âWow. Guess we know who the fun dad is.â
While the table laughed with agreement, Dannyâs face grew hot. He threw his napkin at the bride, who continued to beam and tossed it back. She cooed her apologizes, saying she was only teasing and that Danny is fun too, while she rubbed his arms and kissed his temple.
âYes, you know we love you, Danno.â Steve said with a tepid smile.Â
Danny tried not to shiver at the stare and shrugged. âGuess that makes it a little better.â
The wedding is winding down, and heâs beyond exhausted, so he makes the announcement that he should get Grace home. His daughter shifts in Steveâs arms, but her eyes donât open, âDonât wanna go yet, Danno.â
âDannoâs right, Gracie. Itâs getting late, you should be in bed,â Steve agreed, knowing she would go along with it more if he said it too.Â
Though she moaned in protest, she turned in his arms so her cheek was on his shoulder and mumbled, âKay.â
Lou chuckled, âGuess that means youâre leaving too, Commander.â
