EXPIRATION DATE .đĽ Ý Ë
pairing: seokmin x gn!reader wc: 1k words warnings: pure highschool fluff, reader reassures seokmin
âi want to stay with these feelings foreverâ
the night sky was beautiful, with no clouds to be seen, but countless stars to guide lost people. the night breeze hit your bodies, which caught seokminâs attention to you, noticing how you were slightly shaking.
âtold you to bring a jacket,â he said softly and took off his jacket, wrapping it around your shoulders instead. âhere, youll start to feel warm soon.â
seokmin wrapped his arm around you and brought you closer to him, as if he wanted to transfer some of his warmth to you. his hand started to rub against your covered arm in a soothing way.
you turned your head to look at him, hoping you were going to find him looking at you as well, but he was looking at the sky with a small smile on his face. you thought youd be a bit upset with him not looking at you, but instead you felt your heart skip a beat when your eyes landed on his side profile. his eyes moving as he mentally tried to look at all of the stars on display for him, his small smile giving you the feeling of being at home.
when he finally looked at you, you swore there were actual butterflies in your stomach. his smile grew a little and you smiled at him without realizing. âenjoying the night?â you nodded, still fascinated with his face. you couldnât help but think to yourself how could someone be not only the most handsome guy in this entire world, but also the most kind and heartwarming human being ever?
âwhat is it?â he touched the tip of your nose. âcat got your tongue?â you could feel your cheeks heating up, you let out a small giggle and shook your head. âno, im just enjoying the view. its breathtaking.â
seokmin chuckled and looked up. âit really is.â
oh silly seokmin, only if he knew you were talking about him. to you, nothing could beat seokmin's beauty, not a sunset by the beach, not a sunny morning, or even a night sky full of stars and full moon.
he turned his gaze towards you again and placed his hand that was on your arm to the back of your head, caressing it with the lightest touch ever. âi see you in my future,â he chuckled. âah, maybe i shouldnât have said that. i think iâm going too fast.â
âi see you in my future as well,â you said without any hesitation and you could swear you saw seokminâs eyes grow bigger for a couple seconds before they became almost too small because of the bright heart shaped grin he gave you. âim not sure what i will do after graduation. iâm not sure about basically anything when it comes to my future, all i can say with 100% certainty is that i see you there.â
he sighed happily and looked back up, but not without taking your hand in his before. âhow long do you think these emotions will last?â you tilted your head as you saw his smile faltering. âwhat do you mean?â
âi mean, for how long will we be in love with each other and what will happen when that passion dies?â the vulnerability and fear were clear in his voice, which got quieter than before in each word that came out of his mouth. he slowly looked back at you, his eyes running through your face as if he wanted to capture it in your mind so he could never forget how you look.
seokmin is a hopeless romantic, but being in love with someone can only take two turns: a happy and long life with the person you fell in love with or a terrible heartbreak. being in love and admitting it means showing the person the most vulnerable side of yours, not knowing what they will do about it and only hoping that they will accept you with open arms and love you in the way you deserve to be loved or even better.
you knew he tended to hold himself back every time he became aware of his true and raw feelings out of nowhere.
âseokmin, im in love with you, not with the idea of being in love. my feelings for you dont have an expiration date, and if they did, there would be no meaning to me living,â you sighed and placed your hand on his cheek, the tip of your fingers in contact with his hair. seokmin leaned into your touch and closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the feeling of your warm hand on his cold cheek due the weather. âi know being in love is scary, sometimes i am afraid of how strong the feelings i have towards you are. but when i look at you, that fear is gone.â
seokmin smiled and tried his best to not cry, holding back his tears as if his life depended on it. âweâre still young, lets enjoy our time together without thinking about a deadline or anything like that. im sure there wonât be, but still⌠i want you to stop worrying too much, iâm here and i donât plan on leaving at all.â
he nodded and placed his hand over yours that was resting on his cheek. âi know, i dont plan on leaving as well. itâs just,â he took a deep breath before continuing. âsometimes its scary. i dont want to stop loving you or stop being loved by you.â
you pouted in response, finding his words endearing and at the same time kinda silly. how could you ever stop loving him? is he aware of how good looking he is? is he aware of the big and kind heart he has? âi wont stop loving you, silly.â
he brought your pulse near his lips and kissed it, making your heart beat so fast you could swear he was able to listen to your heartbeat. he looked at you like a baby looking at its mom after crying for hours because it missed her.
seokmin held a constellation in his eyes. his love for life and for you being so much that it pours out through his eyes, his words and his cute aggressions from time to time.
âlove you more than anything,â his voice came out as a loving wisper. he kissed your hair and hugged you. that was when he knew everything was going to be fine, that your love for him was more than true.

please can you do a story with Kirishima, he is so cute, it could be a cute and hot topic where the male reader is Bakugou's brother
He does deserve a much and I'm here to give him some romance!
Kirishima didn't even know Bakugo had a brother, the explosive blond never talking about his family, the other Bakugo sibling having to come along to family night at U.A and clearly didn't want to be there as the Bakugo parents praised Katsuki.
"Hey! I'm kirishima, nice to meet ya!" He said happily to (name) who looked at him suspiciously "uh hey" he looked uncomfortable at the red head who seemed to burst with happiness "why aren't ya hanging with the others?" Kirishima asked as he sat beside (name) on the bench, the other sighing "and see my brother be the better sibling more? No thanks" it wasn't a secret that Bakugo wanted the attention and always made a point to be on top, it was also something (name) experienced his whole life"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm the younger brother of the one who got into U.A, I don't have a cool quirk-- hell I don't even have my parents quirk I have my grandfather's quirk! I just didn't want to be here so my parents could point at how much better he is" (name) didn't know why he was trauma dumping to the stranger or why the other looked at him with so much emotion.
"Wanna go for a walk?"kirishima offered and (name) didn't know why but he agreed, letting the other lead him around campus, Nedzu watching through the cameras happily.
(Name) snort laughed as kirishima did a silly run with his quirk activated "what even is that?!" How this person was bakugos brother was beyond Kirishima but he wasn't complaining, (name) was an absolute sweetheart once you got passed the awkward and rough exterior.
"It made you laugh did it not?" He smiled and (name) rolled his eyes "thanks... You didn't have to do this"
"It would be unmanly to leave you by yourself, besides a chance to show a cute guy how manly I am is an opportunity I won't waist"
"You think I'm cute?" (Name) asked as they stopped walking and kirishima blushed "uh, yeah... I wanted to talk to you since I saw you and God this sounds so stupid"
"I think you're pretty cute too"
Kirishima looked at (name) dumbfounded and (name) continued"maybe... We could go out sometime? Unless you're the type who needs to do the asking out"
"No! I mean yes! Dang, I mean I would love to go out with you!"
(Name) gently kissed his cheek "we should probably head back, it's almost 9pm"
"Yeah..."
"Walk slow?"
"Like a turtle!"

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !! | twst x reader
summary : being in another world you never got to spend Christmas with anyone, lucky for you, your family is always here to help
warnings : none :3 ; reader is Yuu and she's girl!
a / n : I'm super busy with my family on holidays so I'm giving you this short story because y'all deserve it! Also this may be a Skully x reader if you squit your eyes.
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!
You could hear the fire cackling in the fireplace bear you. Outside the Ramshackle dorm, the snow was slowly falling from the grey sky, no sun in sight. Everyone left for the holidays, which left you all alone in the campus once again, but this time there was no overblot in sight.
After a while, you caught with the corner of your eye how Grim jumped on the couch, setting himself on th spot next to you. âWhy so blue henchhuman? Everyone finally left and we got the campus to ourselves!â You sighed and gave the cat a small smile. âOh don't get me wrong Grim, I do enjoy the silence, but I'm kinda sad I don't get to celebrate Christmas with anyone you know?â At your statement, the grey cat gave you a confused look. âChristmas? What's that?â Oh yeah, you almost forgot people here don't know anything about that. You looked at the confused cat again and smiled at him. âThat's nothing, don't mind me and my silly thoughts alright?â Grim knew you didn't mean a word you just said, he looked down in thought then raised his head again. âIf you say so! I'm going to search for some tuna cans to eat!â He jumped excitedly off the couch and made his way to the kitchen. You let out a laugh and moved your attention to the white landscape outside the window.
Without you noticing, a faint glow appeared on the wall behind you. The portrait which was glowing turned fully white, signaling the one in it got out. You felt two hands on your shoulders and a happy laugh. You knew who that was without even looking. âI for one would love to hear more about Christmas! It sounds like an amazing holiday!â You turned to gaze to the boy behind you, two orange eyes looking excitedly into yours. âIt's nothing too special Skully. It's just a simple holiday from back homeâ âTell me, tell me! I'm curious now my dear!â You laughed at him and gave him a smile. âWell if you insist, the alrightâ Skully sat on the spot next to you with his hands on his knees waiting for your tale. âWell, it's practically like this...â
âThat's amazing! I never knew you had such an amazing holiday and such amazing traditions! I'll be more than happy to celebrate Christmas with you my dear!â âOh no no! There's really no need Skully! I mean we don't even have all the things for it, and it's practically tomorrow! We really don't need to- â Skully grabbed your hands and moved closer to you with one of the biggest smiles he's capable of âI insist! We'll have the best Christmas party ever! I promise you!â Before you tried convincing him otherwise the other ghosts came back in the lounge. âWhat's this about a party we're hearing? We want to join in tooâ âAh perfect! Listen to me my friends!â And so Skully proceeded to tell the ghosts everything about you just told him. You were staying on the couch still, with your face buried in your hands. How did it come to this? âSo you see! It's important for our dear Y/N to have the best Christmas party ever!â The ghosts looked at each other and then smiled brightly at you. âWe'll be honored to help! Miss Y/N is family! So her happiness is ours! You can count on us Mr. Skully!â âAmazing then!â While discussing their plans, Grum couldn't come at a worse time. Getting Grim to, it seems that now it was impossible for you to stop anymore.
You were outside your dorm, sitting in the snow. Skully and the others rushed you out of the dorm to make preparations for the party, the ghosts had gone out of their way to even find a Christmas tree for you, you suppose they decorated it since it kinda took them quite long to prepare everything, you were out for almost 5 hours after all. In that time you paid a visit to Mostro Lounge, the Octavinelle boys were more than happy to accompany you while eating, surprisingly, the food was on the house. After a while of staying there, you came back to take strolls outside your dorm, taking th same steps you usually take with Malleus when he comes by. After some time, you heard Grim's voice calling you from the entrance door. âY/N! We're done! Come on fast!â You made your way inside and you couldn't believe your eyes. Everything, from top to bottom was covered in decorations, red, gold and some occasional black as the color of the dorm. âWhat...how did you even do this? Where did you get all this from?! You even decorated the Christmas Tree! With a start too! Wh-how...?â Skully came and hugged you tight, happy with your reaction. âSee? We told you we would make the perfect party for you!â âYeah! We even stole from the school's kitchen to make the food! And it's super tasty by the way!â Grim jumped on your shoulder giving you a wife grin. âNow come on come on! Let's get this party started!â Skully and the ghosts went and grabbed the food to set them on a table in the lounge and urged you to eat. Never in all the time you were here were you this happy.
The party ended some time ago. You were staying with Skully under his portrait, his hand holding yours. âCan't believe you made all this for me Skullyâ He looked at you with a smile. You almost forgot how he looked with his black glasses on his eyes, but his orange eyes never failed to amaze you. âOf course my dear friend! Always! This house is your home, and the others are your family! I just did what I needed to, for you. I have to thank you for staying with me for so long after allâ He raised the back of your hand to his mouth and kissed it, keeping his lips there for a while longer. You looked at him and smiled, lowering your head on his shoulder, his head coming to rest on yours. âThank you, Skullyâ He smiled. âYou're welcome my dear, and, Merry Christmasâ Your smile got wider as you answered him in a whisper. âYes, Merry Christmas to you tooâ
You think that, after all, that you're grateful for what you've gotten when you came here.
#Skully is a special type of ghost you see#I live for my Ramshackle family crumbs it's what fuels me everyday when i wake up#also I didn't intend to make this a Skully x reader fic so i don't know what this is lmao#anyway#MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL WOOHOO#and happy holidays <33#twst#twisted wonderland#twisted wonderland x reader#twst x reader#skully#skully j graves#skully x reader#skully j graves x reader

Can we have some yandere Edward x Reader please???
ŕ¨ŕ§ SERIOUSLY !? âŽâË
YANDERE EDWARD X READER
A/N: alright, gonna give yall freedom now and ill be more flexible when writing for yanderes, but please none of the things i mentioned in the last yandere limits post. (this one) (tw warning)
Type: Headcanons, romantic, fluff
TW: Bullying mentions, yandere topics, basically Edward forces friendship with you near the end? ig thats how we call it? obsession, delusion, he has toxic jealousy.
ŕ¨ŕ§ Edward would be a very chaotic yandere, to the point of simply jumping on you or picking you up randomnly, mostly making you get scared and/or screech almost everytime he does that, it really pisses you off, but he doesnt mind.
ŕ¨ŕ§ Edward would be a very two faced yandere too, while hes treating you like royalty when you are with him, hes being his normal asshole behavior with others, throwing paper balls at them and etc, typical Edward behavior.
ŕ¨ŕ§ I think you two would get acquainted only in two ways: either with you just being as chaotic and eletric as Edward or it was love at first sight, either way, he is really going to be obsessed with you.
ŕ¨ŕ§ Edward is possessive, delusional, chaotic, clingy and obsessive, to an very unhealthy extent, like, if someone else mention you in a casual conversation with him, he would not stop talking about you and how perfect you are, how your smile is just- glamorous and stupidly perfect!
ŕ¨ŕ§ He would not let the trio bully you, if they dare to make fun of you or tease a little bit, this boy would get into a fight with them for you, his love for you can easily make him act in a way really unexpected from him.
ŕ¨ŕ§ God have mercy on the soul that has a crush on you or a crush that you have that is showing signs of reciprocal love for you, because if he finds out, they are fucked, Edward would straight up bully them, and its going to be alot, He'll say lines like, "Do you really think you're good enough for them? or even worthy of their love? you actually think they'll ever love you? be for real."
ŕ¨ŕ§ Edward would be similar to Miss Bloomie is some areas, like clinging to you almost all the time or following you like a lost puppy, you'll have to genuinely have to ask him to stop or else he will follow you to the bathroom too.
ŕ¨ŕ§ If you actually try to leave him, he would be asking alot of questions and demanding full explanations and wouldnt leave you alone until you give him an explanation of why your doing this, he thought you liked him!
ŕ¨ŕ§ i think Edward would be straight off be keeping you with him, he would basically just ignore that you were trying to leave him and act like nothing happened, that you were just being a silly willy.
ŕ¨ŕ§ He's lowkey obsessed and lovesick for you, he would be the type to do dumb things or try to do incredible things to impress you or have your attention, he would be a very silly goof yandere.
ŕ¨ŕ§ But dont get fooled, this boy would go out of his way to hurt mentally or physically if someone tries to take you away from him, he wont let that happen, not on his watch.
ŕ¨ŕ§ His jealousy is very toxic, he would be glaring daggers into the person and straight up talk shit about them to you, he would either act delusional if you question his speeches and actions towards the person or get mad that your "defending" them.
ŕ¨ŕ§ He cant stand whenever you interact so intimately with another person, like hugging them or just playing around with them, it should be him not them, they dont deserve it, they dont deserve you.
ŕ¨ŕ§ "Cmon babe, you didnt really mean to leave me! i just know that!"

i have a thought about hinny
so Ginny is obviously pick me (i don't think is bad or good but it's a clear fact in books). so in 5 book she introduces Luna to Harry and Neville and laughs at her. later we see several of their interactions
Luna and Harry become somewhat friends(?) and Harry even invites her to Slughorns' party. in book 7 Ginny tells Harry to go with Luna instead of Cho because she's obviously jealous. i think L is safe-girl for G bc H won't fall in love with her and even more - next to her weirdly behaviour G looks cooler (i love Luna and called her weird from G prospective) and i don't think L and G actually friends, G doesn't seem to have friends or H doesn't really pay attention to so didn't really know her (projecting and obsession whooo)
what do you think about Luna and Ginny so-called friendship and possibly ship?
I'm not a big fan of Linny because I think Luna deserves better.
Again, anyone can ship whatever and this is just how I see the characters and their interactions + my own personal taste.
Like, Ginny definitely thinks there is no chance Harry would like Luna, she doesn't see her as a romantic threat the way she sees Cho. And this leads me to believe Ginny doesn't particularly respect Luna. I mean, Ginny thinks Cho is pretty, good and Quidditch and she likely knows Harry liked her. Luna, on the other hand, even though Harry took her to Slughorn's Party is not seen as a threat because she isn't good at Quidditch or as pretty (probably).
(I mean, Harry tends to be very judgmental of people's looks and he doesn't imply Luna looks bad, just odd due to her accessories mostly. So she probably looks fine. That being said, Harry never calls Ginny "pretty" either, so...
The girl beside the window looked up. She had straggly, waistlength, dirty-blond hair, very pale eyebrows, and protuberant eyes that gave her a permanently surprised look.
(OotP, 185))
Ginny does introduce Luna as weird and calls her Loony, so, I definitely don't think they were friends pre-OotP.
âWhat are you talking about?â said Ginny, who had squeezed past Neville to peer into the compartment behind him. âThereâs room in this one, thereâs only Loony Lovegood in here ââ Neville mumbled something about not wanting to disturb anyone. âDonât be silly,â said Ginny, laughing, âsheâs all right.â
(OotP, 185)
Like, how Ginny talks about her doesn't sound friendly. It sounds demining. Like, she makes polite conversation with her, but she seems to think of Luna as lesser. Like, oh, she's alright, she's just there, like an odd accessory. Idk, their conversations never felt anything other than polite to me.
We do see Ginny, Neville, and Luna hang out later in OotP when they stumble on Harry and Co when they're about to head to the ministry, so I think there is some comradery there that grows throughout OotP.
Additionally, Luna does paint Ginny in her mural, but Luna's friend's mural is actually really sad to me. Like, these friendships are more important to her than to the people she drew. Like, out of Hary, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Neville, Harry is the one who has the most respect for Luna. even at the beginning when he thinks she's kinda weird, his thoughts are oddly not judgmental. He thinks she's odd, but it isn't attached to judgmental sass (which Harry's the master of). He doesn't mind she says weird shit and actually references it in other conversations, without really thinking anything negative about Luna. Like, I don't see Ginny ever looking up in a Misoltoe and saying there are probably Nargals in it, something Harry does:
âMistletoe,â said Luna dreamily, pointing at a large clump of white berries placed almost over Harryâs head. He jumped out from under it. âGood thinking,â said Luna very seriously. âItâs often infested with nargles.â Harry was saved the necessity of asking what nargles were by the arrival of Angelina, Katie, and Alicia. All three of them were breathless and looked very cold.
(OotP, 453)
âMistletoe,â said Cho quietly, pointing at the ceiling over his head. âYeah,â said Harry. His mouth was very dry. âItâs probably full of nargles, though.â
(OotP, 456)
Harry doesn't know what Nagrals are, but he doesn't care. He wants to ask Luna what they are and doesn't immediately claim they don't exist the way Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Neville do. Ginny is just not open-minded enough to truly respect Luna and how she sees things and the world.
I think the main reason we think of them as friends is that they don't really hang out enough to blow this image. I mean, in book 7 they do lead what remains of the DA together:
âWell, it got more difficult as time went on,â said Neville. âWe lost Luna at Christmas, and Ginny never came back after Easter, and the three of us were sort of the leaders.
(DH, 488)
However, because Ginny doesn't see Luna as a real threat to her relationship with Harry, I think it shows that some of that lack of respect is still there. Like, I believe Ginny, Neville, and Luna grow closer over book 7 due to the circumstances, but I don't see any signs Ginny actually respects Luna as an equal. I think she's alright with her, but looks down on her, and Luna doesn't notice it much due to how desperate she is to have friends.
So, I'm not a fan of Linny because I don't see Ginny really getting Luna, nor does she seem to see her as an equal. And Luna deserves someone who'd be willing to look at the world the way she sees it, or at least be open-minded enough to not think negatively of her for that â neither are things Ginny is.
As for whether Ginny has other friends Harry doesn't notice, I'd say yes and no. Like, she probably has 'friends' of her own she hangs out with and talks to in classes, does homework with and such, but I don't think she has any close friends that she really trusts. I mean, in HBP, when Harry mentions she doesn't usually hang out with them at school, she goes to sit with Dean:
âFancy trying to find a compartment?â âI canât, Harry, I said Iâd meet Dean,â said Ginny brightly. âSee you later.â
(HBP, 136)
Not any friends she hangs out with in classes or does homework with. Her relationship with Dean is relatively new, so he can't be her usual friends.
We also see that when she has real things that concern her and she wants advice for (like getting together with Harry) she asks Hermione:
âI never really gave up on you,â she said. âNot really. I always hoped. . . . Hermione told me to get on with life, maybe go out with some other people, relax a bit around you, because I never used to be able to talk if you were in the room, remember?
(HBP, 647)
You could say it's because Hermione is Harry's friend and therefore would know how to answer best about Harry, but I think she really does lack close friends of her own. I think she gets along well enough with most of Gryffindor, but I wouldn't call most or any of her friendships close. At least, not from what we see.
So, I don't think Ginny and Luna are as close as fanon makes them out to be. I think they only really started hanging out in book 5 (their 4th year) and that Ginny never (at least in the books) really saw Luna as an equal to her (or Hermione for that matter, who she seems to respect more). Like, I can't imagine Ginny ever asking Luna for advice. So I can't really see them as a pairing that works without changing either Ginny's or Luna's personality.

Just a little drabble I managed to write, but it IS my first ever piece of Zosan fanfiction đ (althought it is not about them lol) As always, constructive critiscism is more than welcomed.
A friend in the house
[Zoro runs into someone on the way to the bathroom in the Vinsmoke house]
It was late, very late, but Zoro really had to go take a piss, so he got up, grabbed Sanjiâs robe and got out of the bedroom as quietly as possible.
Â
This big ass house and no private bathroom, just the logic of Judge Vinsmoke, "let's make a gigantic one, practically a mansion, oh toilets? I don't give a fuck, put them wherever." Zoro never met him really, he died when Sanji was 6, good fucking riddance.
Even after the Vinsmoke siblings all turned 21, they still share a house. Sora insisted, she wanted them all in one place as long as they were happy here, and well, none of them had the heart to say no to their mom.
Â
So that's why Zoro has to go through a maze to find a bathroom in the middle of the night, instead of just finding one a few steps away from the bed in a hypothetical apartment they would own. Or, Sanji would own, he means. Zoro would love to move in with him, but Sanji might like to have his own place for a bit before that.
Â
Â
Ah, Sanji. He needs to hurry up so he can go back to bed. They had a little argument a week ago and now they were back, he was back in his arms. It was silly, so silly, they just needed to talk it out, and last night Sanji called him saying he missed him, so Zoro was throwing tiny rocks at his window 5 minutes later.
Â
"Yeah that's definitely the bathroom," Zoro thinks when he recognizes the door. Just when he's aproaching it, another figure in a bright pink robe appears in the dark and goes to the door as well. Both in robes so clearly from their respective partners, they stop and stare at each other.
Â
Â
"Roronoa" she aknowledges, a bit irritated.
Â
"Tash" says Zoro, trying to sound friendly.
Â
âŚawkward.
Â
"Made up with Blondie?" Tashigi asks with a teasing smile.
Â
"Back together with Pinkie?" Zoro answers.
Â
She smiles. "Why else would I be here?"
Â
"I don't know, maybe you were seeing one of her brothers."
Â
"Ew."
Â
"Or maybe you sneaked in," Zoro shrugs.
Â
"Yeah right, cause I'M the one who climed through Sanji's balcony like three hours ago." Look at that, now she was teasing in a friendly way. Zoro can never tell if Tashigi is a friend or an enemy.
Â
"How do you even know about that?" Zoro asks, suddendly worried the rest of the house heard him too.
Â
"Sanji's room is right on top of the library, we literally saw you the whole time. You know you can just use the door, right?" she asks him like he's dumb.
Â
"It's more fun this way" he says, trying to look nonchalant.
Â
She pauses and then asks: "Youâre scared of Zeff?"
Caught.
Â
"...maybe, so what? He's intimidating" Zoro admits, because really, would anyone blame him?
Â
"He's an old chef with one leg," she says, leaning on the wall and crossing her arms. "Besides, he likes you more than he likes me and I'm allowed to use the door."
Â
"Yeah well, I've never broken up with *my* Vinsmoke," Zoro says, but then he feels that maybe it was a bit cold, so he adds "no offense."
Â
"It's fine, it is what it is" Tashigi says, now seeming a little sad.
Â
Zoro knows why Tashigi broke up with Reiju a couple times in the past. Reiju and Sanji are pretty close, and naturally, Sanji tells him everything. He doesn't wanna get too involved in other people's bussiness, but at least he can offer some advice.
Â
"Hey, so...I don't know much about your relationship but...I often think I don't deserve him either, you know?"
Â
Zoro tells her, carefully.
Â
Tashigi looks at him, she seems to be paying real attention now.
Â
He continues "and that's ok, it's ok to feel unworthy sometimes, but just...try to trust that she thinks you actually are, that you do deserve her and trust her judgement. It's her decision to be with you, to choose you, you know?"
Â
A few seconds pass, Zoro starts fidgeting with the fabric of his yellow robe.
Â
"Huh...and here I thought Blondie chose you only because of your boobs" Tashigi says, now fully on her feet, with her hands on her hips. She smiles. Zoro mirrors the smile.
Â
"Thank you, Zoro" she says and bumps his shoulder softly with her fist.
Â
"You're welcome" he says and does the same to her.
Â
Just when they finish talking, the door to the bathroom opens.
A VERY tall guy with purple hair comes out wearing a red robe. He stands in the middle of Zoro and Tashigi, looks between them and says âall yoursâ as he walks away.
The other two stare at each other surprised.
ââŚwas that Charlotte Katakuri?â Tashigi whispers as she looks at the red robe dissappear in the hallway.
âI canât believe itâ Zoro says, finally closing his mouth. âDid he not completely hate Ichiji?â he adds, whispering as well.
âRight, cause two people canât hate each other but also want to fuckâ says Tashigi and gives Zoro a pointed look.
ââŚok, I get itâ he answers and looks around a bit embarrassed.
âThey are way more controversial than you two though, both captains of rival teamsâ she half whispers as she gets a bit closer.
âThe Charlottes are gonna hate us even moreâ says Zoro.
âUs?â
âWell, yeah, weâre part of the Vinsmoke clan, arenât we?â Zoro asks with a frown.
âI guess, yeah, I never thought about it beforeâ
A moment passes.
âHey, look at us gossipingâ Zoro laughs. âGuess now I have a friend in this houseâ he adds as he opens the bathroom door.
âHey âfriendâ, why do YOU get to go-â but the door is closed to her face.
The end.

Iâm sorry if this doesnât make any sense or sounds weirdđ but can u write morgie x glinda the good witchâs daughter and thereâs like a âpink goes good with greenâ moment? Iâm sorry if that doesnât make senseđđ
No you made perfect sense, sweetheart! Even if it didnât Iâd find something to do with your prompt and let you tell me you hated it and want me to try again if I didnât get your vision. This is a cute prompt, Iâm excited to use it.
Also as per her wiki page, Glinda is a sorceress and not actually a witch so I had such silly idea for this, I love it. Thank you so much for the request anon.
Also, something about them is giving me season 3 Jancy vibes and I adore it, anyway.

Morgie le Fay x Reader
Pronouns used: she/her/hers
Summary: the most unlikely of students somehow ended up on the yearbook committee and tasked with their own page in it
Warnings: I swear like once, this one is honestly really sweet and fluffy and honestly a little bit (lot bit) cheesy
Word Count: 2.4K
As luck would have it, Merlin Academyâs walls only held two students who happened to be the children of sorcerers. Ironically though, as the schoolâs requirements for every junior to have at least one extra curricular would have it, both young sorcerers were on the yearbook committee. Morgie le Fay made one hell of a photographer, no one in the school could argue on that and (Y/n) was possibly the best journalist the school had seen. No one should have been shocked that the two would be paired together on the magic section of the yearbook. I mean, in a school made for magic, youâd only want the best for the pages about it. And donât get him wrong, Morgie loves magic. He loves being a sorcerer and heâs excited to have a whole two pages dedicated to sorcery. But to work with (Y/n)? Heâs not as sure heâs excited about that, actually thereâs this odd feeling floating around in his gut as he thinks about it. Not one he seems to be able to recognize and that drives him crazy. Â
The bubble of pink joy that was the schoolâs only sorceress seems to float around the place, the movements being nearly mesmerizing. Itâs oddly similar to her mother and Morgie canât help but find some sort of jealousy in it. How was it seemingly so easy for her to connect into her motherâs energy and magic when he never felt like he deserved his own motherâs legacy? It was this mind boggling thing that seemed to leave him staring and unsure as to what caused it. Like she was something to be studied in his mind.Â
Not that that matters though, how could it when sheâs perched in the seat next to him, bubbling off ideas as she talks with her hands. The scent of her sweet perfume taking an overwhelming amount of his attention as she nearly beams at him. Bright features filling up the space at their two person table top as they workshop different layouts for the opening pages. They have a base idea for the layout, and a good grasp on when he needs to pop into classes such as âCaring for Magic Creaturesâ and âHonors Alchemyâ to get good shots. But moving on to do their page seems to put both teens at pause, eyes flickering over each other as if begging the other person to make the first decision.
Morgie finds himself speaking first, words coming out on a groan that he hopes sounds playful, âWell, with the way we dress our spread is going to be a visual nightmare to put together.â It causes the sorceress across from him to scrunch her brows, âWhat do you mean?â With a vague gesture that seems somewhere close to a wave he references to both of their outfits, âWell you know the green and gold with the pink and silver. Totally clashes, itâll be a nightmare to take pictures of.â It earns him a giggle, her head shaking as she smiles at him, âNo itâll look great, pink goes great with green, theyâre complimentary colors. Trust me, weâve got this.â Something in him begs to argue with her, but he canât. Not when sheâs looking at him like that.Â
So he nods, pulling the notebook in front of him closer with a smile, âWell then, Madam Good Witch, what are you thinking of writing on this page?â She smiles, looking at him as she absent-mindedly doodles little flowers in the margins of her notebook, âWell, obviously we need to explain what makes being a sorcerer different from other magic users, then I was thinking we could talk about our mothersâ legacies. You know, a good magic versus black magic sort of thing.â Morgie hates the idea, the last think he wants to do is praise his mother and her legacy, but surely thatâs what Madam Jinx is looking for. And when the bright bubble beside you looks so excited she seems like she might burst, how do you tell her no? So he smiles, teeth on shy display and nods, giving into exactly what she wants from him. What else was there for him to do? ăťââŚĘâĄÉ⌠âăť Â Â Morgie le Fay was no idiot, his camera obviously had a timer, there was no need for anyone else to take his picture. But when she asked to do it, bouncing on her toes with that bright smile, how could he say no? How could Morgie do anything but slide the strap of the camera over her head and gently position her hands over his most prized possession? Heâs got his hands on top of hers, holding his camera as he points it towards the school, coaching her through how to use it. Sheâs smiling, soft giggles escaping her lips as she follows his instructions. Bodies seeming to find a comfortable temperature in the January air against one another. âOkay, now you feel that little wheel at the top of the left side? Slide it until the words on the sign are legible.â She nods, following his instructions, her thumb brushing over his in a ghostly fashion with each movement. âOkay, now what?â âNow, press the button that I put your right index finger on.â He hears the shutter click, her finger dipping down under his as he puts the lightest pressure on it. âThere you go! Now, when you do it for pictures of me, you won't need to focus it in as far, just make sure Iâm not blurry and you can handle the rest. I believe in you.â
(Y/n) feels slightly cold as Morgie pulls away from her, letting one hand drop from the camera as she pulls it lower on its strap. Her eyes set on watching the boy walk to stand in front of the cobblestones beside them, setting up a blank backdrop for their photos. Sheâs studying him, taking in his green button up and gold scarf, leather clinging to his arms in a way that should clash with the rest of his outfit but instead makes it oddly dashing. With a smile pressed over his lips as he eyes her up and down. âYou know, you need to hold the camera up to take my picture, right?â âRight, yeah,â and she lifts it back up, focusing the camera in on him, just to drop it again, âHold on.â The girl's mary janes make a sweet little tapping sound on the concrete as she approaches him, slow and gentle as if sheâs sure heâll startle off like a hurt animal, âJust let me-" A hand comes up to Morgieâs face, softly sweeping a few stray hairs back into the shellacked style he tends to keep it in. âThere, thatâs better,â she hums, smile laying sweetly on her lips as she backs away, returning to her former spot as she holds the camera back up. Angling it back to his face and twisting the focus ever so slightly. A lip slipping between her teeth to mask her prideful smirk as she realizes the boy is suddenly a twinge more pink than he was when she first went to take his photo, but what was it she said? Pink goes good with green, doesnât it? She smiles to herself, letting the shutter of the camera click as she captures that boyish smile and his freshly fixed hair eternally.Â
âOkay, I want to take one more, do you want to do a different pose?â He hums, propping a leg up against the wall and bringing a hand to rest on the back of his neck, the other settling on his stomach. âHowâs this?â It earns him another one of those bubbly giggles, the girl softly shaking her head, âIf youâre going to pose like that, your face better give me attitude, le Fay.â âOh, I have attitude, donât you worry about that.â With dramatics heâs tossing his scarf over his shoulder, giving her a once over with a cheeky smirk on his lips, as if he knows he's being outrageously flamboyant. Then the boy lets his face fall to a smolder but from the glint in his eyes, you can feel the way heâs trying not to laugh, something about the mix is nearly intoxicating and (Y/n) finds herself taking two pictures of it, one of him smoldering and one when the dam finally breaks and he canât stop himself from laughing. His posture falling to be so relaxed as he leans, hand on his stomach coming to clutch it as if that will help him recollect himself, and he just looks beautiful. She canât help but question if it would be weird of her to ask if she could keep this one for herself. Just a little memory for the road, right?Â
âAlright,â heâs catching his breath as he reaches an arm out to her, âItâs my turn, give me my camera.â She slides the strap off of her neck as she approaches him, handing it back as she turns to take his former place against the wall. âAnd if I had to give attitude, you better be able to bring it, (Y/n).â Both teens share this cheesy smile for a moment, then Morgie winks, and backs away from her, âIâm serious, you better pose for me.âÂ
ăťââŚĘâĄÉ⌠âăť
When they first got this assignment, any time that Morgie didnât spend with his friends or in required yearbook committee meetings, he was with (Y/n). Answering questions about his mom and her legacy for (Y/n)âs half of the work for their magic spread or eventually, just letting himself exist in her presence. Watching movies or reading trashy tabloids together while they did a face mask. Whatever kept him in her presence worked for him. They made an unlikely duo, Morgie was well aware of that, but something about her made him feel at peace. As if he was safe with her. But that was January and February, when deadlines didnât hang over them as if threatening to fall and crush them. Now as flowers begin to take up every bush on campus and the snow is finally gone, meetings have doubled and Morgie canât seem to find enough time outside of the dark room. Or if he does manage to get out of the dark room -and not have plans with the other villains- (Y/n) is too busy hunched over a type writer or a notepad for him. Considering he didnât know how he felt about her two months ago, he seemed oddly lonely without her presence.Â
To say that Morgie got too attached would be the understatement of the year. Through every bubbling giggle and gentle brush of her fingers the sorcerer went from being unsure about her to absolutely infatuated with her. She felt safe, of course he craved that, but there was something else. Something intoxicating about her that he couldnât help but to crave. Morgie should be embarrassed, he shouldnât feel this way about her at all, and yet, all he can think about is asking her to the end of the year formal. About a pink tie with his dark suit and a sparkling gown accompanying her glowing complexion. There was nothing to take his mind off of it when he was alone in the dark room like he was now, and he knew better than thinking about his friends like that. At least, he thinks that sheâs his friend. The boy shakes his head, as if the motion can clear his thoughts, hanging up the last of the photos that needs to develop so it can dry. He needed to get out of the dark room, maybe go find Hook or someone else who could occupy the quiet spot in his mind.
He doesnât expect anyone to be in Madam Jinxâs room when he slips through the door, but to say the sorceress standing over that table was a disappointment would be a lie. He smiles, idling up behind her to peer over her shoulder, eyes flickering over her late night work. Pictures of the two of them are laid out around her, as well as her paragraphs on both of their mothers and what a sorcerer is. Sheâs moving the slips of paper seemingly aimlessly around the scrap book paper in front of her, the pages a muted yellow tone that matched the rest of that yearâs "Excalibur" to a t. âWhat are you doing in here this late?â He keeps his voice soft, careful not to scare her as he lets his hands come to rest on either side of his friend. Effectively trapping her between himself and the surface before her. (Y/n) slightly jumps at the sound of his voice, taking in a sharp inhale as she does. âDonât scare me like that.â He whispers a sorry in her ear, leaning over her shoulder to look at the pages.Â
âTry alternating the pictures and the bodies of text, and put the explanation of what a sorcerer is over the top of both pages.â She hums, tilting her head as she picks up the pieces just to drop them back down again, âShow me?â Morgie picks up the picture of him smiling, just to move it aside and grab the picture of him smoldering. âFirst of all, I look better in this one,â thereâs a teasing tone hanging off of his words as he places the photo a centimeter away from the outer edge of the left piece of scrapbook paper. Next, shifting the writing about Morgana over until itâs about two centimeters from the inner edge, the words lower down as to avoid any overlap. He does the opposites with her pictures and the information about Glinda, leaving an open space between their two photos with either body of text next to one another. Finally, he takes the paragraph on what a sorcerer was, letting it fall between their pictures, âThere, howâs that?â
He leans a little further off of her as he speaks, watching as she tilts her head from side to side, taking it in. Then, with that picture perfect smile but no warning she turns on her toes to face him, making Morgie suddenly deeply aware of how close the two of them happen to be. She doesnât pay it any mind though, smiling up at him with a hand slipping onto his cheek, âMorgie le Fay, you might just be a genius, do you know that?â He's not sure if it's the praise or the physical contact, but suddenly he canât seem to control himself. Not with the way sheâs smiling at him and the feeling of her soft palm against his face. Morgie finds himself leaning into her lips, eyes fluttering shut as he kisses her. The motion is soft and gentle and just as he realizes what heâs doing, he goes to pull away. (Y/n) starts kissing back though, her other hand coming up to his neck and pulling him ever so slightly closer, effectively keeping the boy against her lips. Heâs still the first to pull away though, eyes fluttering open as he looks down at her flustered little smile and half lidded eyes. âIâm so sorry, I donât know what came over me, I-â But she laughs, cutting him off as she softly rubs his cheek with a smile, âItâs just like I told you Morgie, pink goes good with green.â

My very long rant about The Owl House many will have issues reading
Felt like writing my hot takes within The Owl House and its fan base after witnessing some crazy drama all over the blogs I follow and followed:
First things first, I want to establish that there's nothing wrong with liking other ships that are non-canon or ships that are canon. We can all co-exist peacefully, but we won't if we're going to assume that shippers of other ships by default must be sexist or delusional or just the worst. There are plenty of bad apples among all the shippers here, but they're not necessarily the norm (though to be fair the norm usually enables the worst behaviors of such shippers). As a whole TOH isn't a healthy collective and could never be as this fan base is much larger than people realise (you can't have so many people invested with this show for the fan base to be supposedly chill, like Fat Chance).
Like really you can go from canon purists who will keep everything wholesome and silly but because of how starved the actual canon left them they will include a hundred different headcanons that are not in any way related to actual canon and still be upset as if the canon was threatened when you can just to agree with the headcanons alone. There's still, of course, an issue of canon purists literally rejecting everything that's in their mind is supposedly not okay because it strays away from canon in a more direct way. Then you will have Wittelore enjoyers who just love everything about Belos, Caleb, and Evelyn in various different expressions, but it can at times go to becoming lowkey colonist apologist territory along with pretty much-appropriating everything that applied to the character of color into these three when two of them canonically were never given a proper characterisation and Belos is not supposed to be just a victim that deserves grace but the very force that creates victims and the one to continue the cycle without remorse or second thoughts becoming the cycle itself, thus not making it any wrong to unceremoniously end it, though plenty of people will still have problem with it and wish the show validated Philip's feelings. However, you will also have POC defenders who will give the attention and love to characters of color they deserve and even the demon characters like King for example, and acknowledge how they're in fact the main characters while pointing out the clear white favoritism. But this can also go to an extreme territory where you will be called racist for actually finding white characters your favorite and still being interested more in their characters, which as I said is in fact incredibly extreme and disingenuous and also, something that will invalidate all the other good arguments by the virtue of this extreme being the underlying reason behind all of them and thus completely diminishing the problem because people will no longer take it seriously. Then you will have shippers of non-canon ships that are literally harassed by canon persists and were like that for years until they snapped and started to return the favor in the same way to the point of being delusional about how the canon pairings were not the original plan and how they actually suck and it's the non-canon pairing that should be canon which also further fuels the cycle and validates those who believe that somehow the shippers of other ships are after them specifically and how they mean o good when in fact they're the monsters they created themselves. This also leads to the infamous "critics" of the show who will pretty much hate anything within it to also inaccurate extreme that is based on assumptions born from the collective gaslight of some headcanons being canon, along with people judging the show on the surface and assuming things that were never the plan because they made a connection to something else they liked and got disappointed when those two things turned out to be unrelated (for example Hunter's arc being not like Zuko's arc when clearly it was never the point) and thus shushing away any potential criticism the show actually could get by the virtue of getting criticism that holds no water upon the closer look and thus makes people believe the show is, in fact, flawless or that the flaws don't matter in the slightest (when they do as they help improve future stories to not make the same mistakes and create something better). And of course, you will have people collectively gaslighting everyone around them that everything is fine and there's no drama in the show even though everyone hates each other here and fuel toxicity together by constantly drawing distinctions between "us and them" but never talking about how toxic it is.
Congratulations, we created our Emperor's Coven at home! This entire thing is pretty much the reason why I'm making this thing.
But back to the rest of the actual meat of this post, that was mere appetizer.
Second of all: Multishippers exist. Some people like both Lumity and Lunter and there are Lunter shippers who like Amity, me included as Amity's one of my favorite characters. It's disingenuous to assume Lunter shippers are by default lesphobic or just hate Amity. Heck, the reason Lunter shippers dislike Amity is less about her and more about the fan base's attitude. Imagine being constantly harassed that you don't ship mainstream ship by being specifically reminded that a specific lesbian exists, even if this isn't about her. You would be tired of her too because "good for her to be a happy lesbian", but Lumity may still not satisfy people as it's basically all fluff at this point. People are so overjoyed with them being together they hardly explore now possibilities of them going through something. At most, they will use green-haired Amity but people still will be waiting for green to turn into periwinkle, and fluff will just overwhelm anything else. And don't get me started on how both of them also end up being flanderised and dirty because of each other (as it goes both ways). People can just not vibe with that or be indifferent, but because people get harassed for daring to not love Lumity or Amity, they just end up hating it more. The issue is not Amity, the issue is Amity being the only option allowed. And gatekeeping people from enjoying other ships isn't ok. It really makes you feel like people erase aspects of their characters just to conform to a specific image of them and how can you accept something like this when the show is all about embracing weirdness and differences and not conforming to anything. Loving Lumity is a norm in this fan base, not a break with convention.
Third of all: I'm sorry to y'all but I think that considering Evelyn and Willow as literal parallels because they both fell in love with "Caleb" is disingenuous to both of them. No one would draw this connection if Willow wasn't romantically involved with Hunter. And while I don't disagree that Huntlow is goated and canon/semi-canon, their relationship is still left to interpretation and they are only implied to have a thing but not confirmed to be downright an item. We don't know 100% if they're dating, playing the long game, engaged, or amicably broken up. And that's great as both of their characters work in their own right and they don't need an established relationship to be fulfilled and people can interpret their relationship however they like, no need to throw pitchforks at one another. And Willow being dressed up AS A STEREOTYPE just doesn't help the case of her somehow being Evelyn's foil. Luz was dressed as an actual witch character (even if said witch is also not how real witches operate either, but it's still closer in meaning than Willow being dressed up as a devil as if Evelyn indeed charmed Caleb and he didn't fall in love with her like a normal person or that Evelyn was ever in the wrong to like a boy).
And as for Evelyn: please stop just summarising her up to Caleb's love interest for Titan's sake. We may not know much about her but we know that they did start as friends according to Dana's livestream and later on they would become parents to their child (if Belos didn't ruin it). Not only it's different from Huntlow as Huntlow didn't establish where they stand in their relationship at the end while it's clear that Evelyn and Caleb fucked, but Evelyn and Caleb had their love story that did take time (Huntlow at most is just getting started but for all, we know they could still break up in the future cause why not, it's their choice, first love isn't necessarily the only option). My point is that Evelyn's life didn't revolve around her love for Caleb alone so saying Willow and Evelyn are parallels because of them being lovers of our favorite white boys pretty much erases both of their characters. Evelyn's worth as a character doesn't end on getting pregnant, but also being a catalyst of all the events within the story, along with being a Clawthorne ancestor and original wild witch living between worlds.
Fifth point: this is where I bring Luz into this as the parallel, the infamous "Luz is Evelyn" everyone just loves to discard because it's only used as Lunter's argument and further making Evelyn only Caleb's bitch and nothing else, but here's a thing: you can use this parallel platonically to further spite Philip. People draw the connection because aside from having no romantic feelings towards "Caleb" (which is the only distinction between the two), Luz is also a wild witch (wild as in both wild personality-wise, wild as in everything Belos stands against (and side note: Willow being someone Belos wouldn't approve of is not a high bar because Belos would literally not approve of ANYBODY within our cast, so Willow's not special in this regard, heck Belos doesn't even know Willow all that much), wild as in using the very magic that came from the titan and wild as in a wild card that changed the course of history) that traveled between realms and came from another world (let's be real, Hunter is a witch from boiling isles, not a human from the earth, so Luz by a longshot matches the description better than Willow who's just a regular witch born in the demon realm to Hunter that frankly wouldn't be hurt or restrained by the coven system as she only uses plant magic from her bile sac and didn't go against the empire until season 1 finale and even then she didn't do it as a wild witch but child witch railing witches belonging to the coven to release Eda). Both of them also have loose association with Clawthornes as Luz isn't legally one but just a surrogate daughter of one and Evelyn's surname isn't known, the clan could've been established much later down the line or Evelyn's descendant married into Clawthorne's family, making Evelyn just an ancestor at best and distant at worst. I also already mentioned how both of them are catalysts to both the rise in power and the death of Philip while having massive guilt over it (Philip died on the inside as he killed Caleb, crossing the moral event horizon along with setting on the journey of destroying the entire realm. Plus I cannot imagine the survivor's guilt Evelyn must have felt over Caleb dying and orphaning their unborn child - which parallels Luz thinking she doomed her palisman by carving into an egg thinking it could never hatch because of how "she keeps on messing up constantly"). And of course, it's clear as day that Luz kickstarts Hunter's redemption arc by introducing Flapjack (and Evelyn did the same with Caleb, meanwhile Willow's only interaction with Flapjack is her giving him flowers on his grave; and it's worth noting as I doubt that Evelyn intentionally 'fixed" Caleb, much like Luz didn't intentionally "fixed" Hunter, though people sure love to think otherwise), making him question what he knows (a witch hunter falling in love with a witch - existential crisis is warranted, along with tones of guilt) and making him "betray" Belos (Hunter disobeyed Belos in HP and then questioned him directly in HM; Caleb "left Philip behind"). Like I'm sorry but Willow did nothing but wait till Hunter gets his shit together by himself (the only thing she actively tried to change his mind about is not judging a book by its cover but that's where it ends; she didn't call him out on doing the utterly terrible thing of kidnapping them to his cult nor anything else he did that wasn't morally correct) while Luz openly defied him and his worldview for him to come to his senses ("You're really going to take all those Palismen? I know what he does with them. I thought you were a good guy, but that was just wishful thinking" Hunter then proceeds to protect Luz from Kikimora, reveals his name, and lets Luz go with the Palismen just like that). Trivia: Evelyn also has brunette hair that is wild and tied back, Luz used to have them too early on but shorter, and currently they're curly.
That's where parallel comes from. That's what Evelyn us to Caleb: catalyst of change. Yes, Luz isn't in love with Hunter, but we could headcanon away that Caleb would be merely an uncle of Evelyn's kid, who's going to stop us from doing that? We can even make it that Philip felt replaced by Evelyn by her being Caleb's "new sibling" just for the fun of interpretation of the character.
But even if we won't do that (as no one forces us) then we must remember that parallel characters are not 2 characters being one and the same. Evelyn and Luz would still be separate entities and there's no crime in that. Luz not falling in love with a blond white boy is fine because that isn't and shouldn't be Evelyn's defining trait. Evelyn's defining trait is kickstarting change in Caleb which kickstarts Belos's vendetta against Witches. Romance was a bonus.
My sixth point: Last but not least let's finally talk about the elephant in the room that is parallel between Philip and Luz. All interpretations are valid, if you're choosing to interpret them like that, it's your valid choice and opinion. But saying that it's THE thing that happened within the show is just not correct and let me explain why before you discard me altogether if you haven't already.
Luz projected into Belos and Belos took advantage of that.
There, I said it, that's the ultimate truth of the show, you literally cannot deny this isn't how it happened.
Luz pretty much only had Philip as a point of reference to someone who shared her experience of a human in the demon realm. However, if she got to know Caleb instead of Philip, he would be the one Luz would compare herself to him. Ironically, she would be more correct as both of them are humans who run away to the demon realm after being possibly rejected by the closed-minded society and leaving behind unpleasant reality and their only living family member who they didn't realize how much they've hurt for choosing to leave them for the world that made them happy and helped them flourish (compare starved Caleb in Belos's vision to Caleb living in the demon realm and introducing Philip to Evelyn before he decided to kill them,). You could even say that Luz is a fusion of both Caleb and Evelyn at once. But unfortunately, Luz doesn't know Caleb as well as the audience does, all she knows is that he used to be a witch hunter who fell in love with Evelyn but that's about it. She doesn't know that he even has a connection to the portal door or Clawthorne ancestry.
So with no one else as a point of reference, Luz is going to compare herself to Philip Whattabitch. She assumed that she must be as bad as Belos because she thought he sincerely thought he was doing everything for a genuine reason and not because he was just a douchebag. Sure Philips's motivations are complex, but they don't come from a good place in the slightest. The Titan himself literally asks Luz if she's drunk on Eda's apple blood for thinking she's just as bad as Belos.
Like seriously, Luz stumbled on the Isles by pure accident. It was never for a reason or a higher purpose. She was never "destined" to go there, but it was her actions and decisions that led her there and changed the world around her. She didn't know the reason why she landed on Boiling Isles because there never was any reason or a prophecy to justify her presence there as it was never needed. This is not the same as Belos who willingly went to the demon realm to both find his brother and destroy all the witches. Luz very quickly grew out of "I'm the chosen one" whereas Belos made himself a false messiah. Even the Titan said that she's not chosen to be given Titan powers by fate but for her actions and kindness she's given them to support her and it was her decision to accept them. Not to mention that she respected the Isles, the inhabitants, and the magic that was part of this world, while all Belos ever did was destroy, murder, and steal it all for himself.
The show doesn't tell you Luz and Belos are foils, the show tells you that Luz VIEWS herself as Belos's foil, but she's nothing like him. Even their respective hero complexes are different. Luz seeks self-improvement to find a community for herself to belong to. But Belos? Belos wants to get praise and glory for slaughtering "the evil". Those two are not the same because Belos doesn't care about anyone but himself while Luz is all about what other people feel and think about her and she sacrifices herself multiple times for other people's sake. Belos would never do that. Belos wasn't even happy that Caleb was actually well and healthy in the demon realm, in contrast to the vision where Caleb is starved and sleep-deprived because he had to look after him ever since they were little orphans, sacrificing his own well-being. But Luz would rather give up her own hopes and dreams just to not see anyone she cares about ever put themselves on the line like that.
At most, I can agree that Luz represents what's best in humanity and Belos represents the worst, but that is still an incredibly broad concept that just doesn't contribute much to the actual story of TOH which isn't about humanity as a whole. And I'm sorry but this parallel is just used to woobify Belos and villanise Luz, something that certainly is not right. Because even if you made Belos a hero and Luz a villain, they'd still be nothing like one another.
Even Luz's dynamic with Hunter is nothing like Caleb and Philip. Caleb and Philip grew up together and they were the entire world to one another growing up. But Luz and Hunter didn't even have each other when growing up, they didn't get to know them until their teens, and the first time they meet they were at each other's throats which is different from Wittebane brothers having a loving relationship early on only for Belos to stab Caleb. Arguably, even if liked the idea of Luz and Hunter being siblings, I'd be disappointed with how much the show didn't do anything with them and it's always the fan base that pulls heavy weight on them being sibling-like. Like Hunting Palismen is them not even being friends let alone family and it's still supposed to be the pinnacle of their sibling rivalry, even though they were actual enemies and Luz is just as petty and immature here as she is with Kikimora? Luz supposedly didn't go after Hunter after he ran away from the Owl House whereas she did chase King when he learned the truth in Echoes of the Past? Supposedly we never had an on-screen scene where Hunter officially becomes a Noceda? I'm sorry but I will take a "You're family" from Afro-Latina as not confirmation that I'm a sibling but a friend who is close enough to be as valued as a family member, especially followed by Willow's "You're one of us now" and preceded with Camila's "I'm a mother of six". Are Hunter and Willow siblings too now? Hunter didn't even get to be in a photo of the Noceda family in the epilogue, what kind of brother would that be?
Camila is more of a Caleb to Luz considering it was her who raised Luz through trials and tribulations, sacrificing her own quirks and encouraging Luz to do the same just to conform to the norms of Gravesfield. But quite frankly it's Luz who ultimately runs away because of a certain Clawthorne Witch leaving Camila behind. Hunter literally has no such story with Luz, unless you count him running away in HM, only to return to COTH a week later and then finally live under Nocedas' roof.
Even when Luz didn't like Hunter's guts, she would never kill him. And despite being dressed up as Belos in the nightmare sequence, there's never a parallel between Philip and Caleb, because truly this isn't their relationship. And while we're at it, the whole nightmare sequence is once again a play on Luz's insecurities and doubts, but none of them are the truth. None of Luz's friends blame her for what happened, none of Belos's crimes are her crimes, and Luz would never willingly destroy the Boiling Isles because she doesn't destroy the things or people she hates. Even Belos was not finished off by Luz but by boiling rain and her family.
Ok, I finished venting about everything that's been going on inside my head. Might add more on the way, but those were the issues that were bugging me so now do whatever you want with it.

CHIMES OF THE HEART
â a wind breaker (satoru nii) reader insert.
CHAPTER 5
Makochi was too good for you. (2.5k words)
content warning: female reader, a bit angsty, violence
After having breakfast at Sakura's apartment, the Furin students went on their way to school. It was decided that you would stay with Kotoha while waiting for the first years to accompany you around town, saying that it's not safe to go alone in this situation.
"For real? That guy is wack in the head, good on you for escaping." Kotoha exclaims. Other than some elderly having their breakfast, it was just the two girls inside the cafe. From an outsiders perspective, it almost seemed like the two of you knew each other since birth from how loud you both were.
"But... it's not like I feel better now that you guys are involved in my problem," You sigh, feeling yourself open up to the brunette.
Kotoha gently puts down the cup she's been drying and puts her hand on your shoulder. She's dealt with these situations too frequently, but it's not like she's one to shy away from helping people "Hey, don't say that. Just because we haven't known each other for a long time doesn't mean you can't rely on others, we're more than happy to help you."
You just look at her silently, not knowing how to respond. The Mikos back at the shrine were kind and made great company, but not so much that you'd consider them friends. You were only there to protect them, humor their small talk during the many trips to the market, and maybe get to know a bit more about them, but not about you. The priest and Hayami were adamant on not letting you spend too much time with them. Kotoha who you've just met today on the other hand, was crossing a boundary you were unfamiliar with. Sakura must've felt the same way...
"Sorry...if I come across too touchy. It's a silly habit," she says with a warm smile. "Sakura was the same when he first arrived, and now look at him, hanging out with friends and all. It's a step forward to make him feel that he belongs, and hopefully...you can entrust this town and its citizens of your burdens."
Her words were simple, yet comforting. You were still conflicted, whether to overhaul these feelings of doubt on your own or entrust yourself to the people of Makochi. You went silent for a while, but Kotoha knew better than to probe. She patiently waits for your response.
"I... don't know what I did to deserve this kind of treatment, but thank you...for offering your aid."
Kotoha smiles and taps your shoulder, prompting you to look at her. "To get your feelings across much better, it's good to look at the person's eyes."
You look at Kotoha as per her advice and muster your courage to say, "Thank you."
"That's the spirit! So, how's the sandwich and coffee?" You're surprised at how good of a conversationist Kotoha is, able to lift your mood in just mere seconds. She's a good person...I can trust her.
Your plate had only half a chunk of the sandwich left, the warm coffee at least a thirds of the cup. "It's amazing! I've never had this kind of food back at the shrine."
Now Kotoha's more motivated to spoil you with all the city has to offer. "There's tons of places you can check out here in Makochi! Obviously my cafe is tons better but I'd love to see you try out everything." She starts going on a tangent, mentioning the Tsubaki person again and taking you shopping this coming weekend. It made you feel giddy and excited, but part of you was worried you'll attract unwanted attention. Never would you want Kotoha or anyone really to be in harm's way.
"That all sounds exciting. But maybe after my whole fiasco is settled...I don't want to break the peaceful environment here."
Kotoha visibly tenses at your statement, "Give Makochi a day or two, you'll have the full experience by thenâ"
Cueu a loud thud from the window.
Kotoha looks at the source of noise and just sighs, "That's a new record."
You see a crowd forming right outside the cafe, circling the lone student from Furin. Kotoha whips out her phone and starts dialing someone.
"I'll call the guys overâ"
"Do you have a broomstick or anything similar, Kotoha?" She stares at you, but hands you a broomstick anyways. "I'll make sure to return it!"
You step out of the cafe, approaching the bruised student with the broomstick in hand. He coughs out blood and you irk, "Can you stand?"
He shakes his head and points at the large group of men, about ten or so.
"Oh, so yer the girl that took out our men."
"Ah, yeah...I already apologized though." You unapologetically say, and this irked some of the men. Your mentor would've done the same either, and he had the patience of a saint.
One of the tallest in the group comes forward and stares you down, hunching to meet your eye, "We were punished by our boss thanks to them embarassing us."
You stare back, "And why did you involve someone innocent? You're even worse than scum." Never did your words carry so much poison.
Sojiro would've been so proud of you right now.
The man goes for a punch, but you immediately dodge and go behind his figure, raising your broomstick and hitting swiftly at his nape. His body falls near the injured Furin student who looks up at you with amazement. You crouch down to his level, taking a good look at where he was hurt. Bruises on his head, cheeks swelling, and his dirtied uniform most likely hid even more gashes.
Pointing the broomstick at them, you face the group of men and yell, "You're all cowards for ganging up on a student. Apologize to him!"
They all charge towards you, yelling profanities that your ears blocked. You have no time to hear their idiocy, the task at hand is to quickly dispose of them without making a mess.
Unbeknownst to you, the Furin student had the energy to whip out his phone and record footage of the fight, sending the video to the Class 1-1 group chat.
Kakiuchi
Sent a video.
Happening rn at pothos!
Kotoha and the elderly patrons of Cafe Pothos watch from inside as you single out opponents with flawless footwork and quick strikes to the neck, rendering opponents still after being hit. "That little lady is quite the fighter," the old man says, watching with glee.
So this is what Umemiya and Hiragi meant, Kotoha thinks.
The Furin student sees his phone get bombarded by messages from the group chat just seconds later.
Kiryu
Lol (F/n) get their asses!!
Nirei
WHAT'S HAPPENING??!??!??
WHY IS (F/N) FIGHTING??!?!!?!!!
Tsugeura
SHE'S A BEAST HOLY CRAP
Anzai
DAMN?????
Suo
We'll be there as soon as we can
Not even a minute passed, all men were down and unconscious around you. You stretch after the tiresome workout, and wonder why your hand felt lighter than earlier.
The broomstick is now in half.
Sweating bullets, you refuse to look back at Kotoha and the Furin student who were calling out your name.
"(F/n)! Are you injured?" She says worriedly, inspecting your body for any signs of bruising. She found none thankfully, making her sigh of relief. "Thank you, for protecting us."
You refuse to look her in the eye but at the now two pieces of wooden sticks in your hand. Kotoha notices this and laughs, "Don't worry about that! It's just a broom."
"T-thank you!" The student says from his seat, "Please let me know how I can repay you!"
Your eyes light up from hearing it, "You don't have to really...but a broom would be nice."
"YOU BRAT!!!!!!" A familiar voice shouts from afar.
You suddenly gain the courage to face Kotoha and give her a pitiful look, mouthing the words please cover for me.
Sakura stomps and grabs both your shoulders and shakes you back and forth, "How hard is it to stay still?! You had us worried sick!!!!"
"Now, now, the deed's already been done. Not much we can do now," Suo says, looking at the pile of bodies. "You sure did a number on them (F/n), very impressive!"
Kotoha rips you away from Sakura's grasp, hugging your figure, "Can you go easy on her? (F/n) literally just saved us."
"It's my fault! Please don't get angry at her," the injured Kakiuchi who Nirei helped stand up says to his classmates. "I was on my way to school when they asked me about a girl who beat up the guys at the red light district. I was no match for them..."
So it really was your fault he got injured.
Sakura clicks his tongue and looks at his classmate sternly, "You could've called us! We swore to help each other out, didn't we!?"
Everyone looks at their grade captain who became embarrassed upon noticing he attracted the eyes of everyone, "All I'm saying is...don't do everything on your own, a-alright! We're a class for a reason!"
"And you!" Sakura points at your figure, hiding behind Kotoha, "From now on, someone's gonna look after you!"
Stepping away from Kotoha, you glare at Sakura dead in the eyes, "I refuse."
"What did you say?" Sakura huffs, looming over your figure, showing signs of annoyance.
"I said I refuse! Didn't you see how someone got injured because of me? Do you think I'd want any more of you to get hurt because of me?!"
He backs off, eyes wide and stunned. Kotoha stood her ground beside you, but she was clearly shaken by the sudden shift in you. Looking at Kotoha made you regret your words. It's like her words didn't get through you at all...
If you can't trust yourself, who will?
"You've all done enough to help me, but I'll have to do things on my own from now on. Please tend to his injuries well."
They all watch as you walk away.
ââââââââââ
"OUCH!" Umemiya yelps as he holds up his pricked finger. Sugishita rushes to his side, band aid in hand.
"Thank you, Sugishita!"
"You seem... bothered," Sugishita mutters while tending to his upperclassman's small injury. Umemiya smiles, proud to know how perceptive his little brothers were.
He looks up at the sky, breathing in the fresh air brought by the downpour from yesterday. Umemiya recalls a day like this in his childhood, and he'd been thinking about it while tending to his seedlings. "Ah, I just remembered something. That girl, I knew she was familiar."
Sugishita has heard of the commotion you caused yesterday, but partly because Umemiya couldn't stop discussing it in private with Hiragi earlier. The boy was never one to pry, but seeing Umemiya this bothered him was a matter on its own. It must be very important.
Umemiya's phone ringing suddenly broke the two's trance. He was greeted with Sakura's handle. Must be really urgent if Sakura of all people was calling.
"Sakura! What's the matter?"
He waits for the boy to respond, prompting Umemiya to randomly say Sakura's name to check if it's him or if the call was a mistake.
He gave Sakura a few more seconds, and he finally heard him spoke through the phone.
"(F/n)...she left."
ââââââââââ
You ended up walking at a park, people going by their day and spending time with their loved ones. Must be nice...
It was a fair weather compared to the last few days, so most families decided to make the most out of the opportunity for recreation. You hear a little girl cry, pointing at her balloon stuck on a tree while her mom calms her down. You didn't want to overstep, but the little girl was adamant on having her balloon and didn't want her mom to buy a new one.
Without hesitation, you climb and found yourself reaching for the balloon.
"Ah! Thank you, big sis!" The little girl says, her mother thanking you as well. Just as you are about to leave them, the little girl tells you to stay still and wait for her to come back.
"Big sis!" The little girl runs up to you and hands you an ice cream cone, "Thanks for getting my balloon back!"
The act of generosity surprised you, wanting to decline her offer and let her have the ice cream instead. "This is yours! Please take it, it has one of my favorite flavors!"
You watch as they walk off hand in hand. The ice cream in your hand had three scoops and looked a lot like the ones advertised in magazines. It was very delicious, like the little girl just said. The fact that someone else gave it to you out of gratitude added more to its value than just being a mere dessert.
This town was peaceful, with kind citizens inhabiting it.
You're just here to ruin it.
You kept walking around the park until you reached a fountain with a statue of a couple and their baby, peacefully sitting by the fountain's ledge. As soon as you find what Hayami and Sojiro entrusted you with, you'll be sure to be out of Makochi's borders.
Taking the time to rest before you make your move, the statue strikes you as odd now that you've paid attention.
A plaque beneath had a quote etched:
Where joy grows deep, sorrow must deepen; the greater one's pleasures, the greater the pain.
"That's...a quote from Kusamakura," you recall. Hayami and Sojiro often quoted this and told you of its meaning as a child.
"Oh...Our little ghost is quite the bookworm!" A familiar voice happily says out loud.
Turning your head to confirm your assumption, you see locks of swept white hair and large grey irises. "Ume...miya?"
"I'm glad you remember my name!" He points at the seat next to you with a grin, "Do you mind if I take a seat?"
You scooch over, making room for his large figure. He seemed very relaxed, contrasting your anxious self.
"So, how's Makochi so far?" He asks, looking at the citizens of the town who seemed aware of his presence as well, often waving when passing by.
"It's...cozy. The people here are nice to each other, almost like everyone's family."
The man lets out a satisfied hum, "And you're a part of it."
You let out a weak laugh, looking at Umemiya with a pitiful smile, "I've been here for a few days, and I'll take my leave after I finish my task. You can all pretend like I've never been here."
"Just like a ghost."
Umemiya frowns at your choice of words, almost thinking of lecturing you on the spot. He lets out a sigh, "I've heard about what happened earlier...I know it's hard to see someone get hurt, but you don't have to shoulder all the blame. Bofurin exists to protect everyone in Makochi, and that includes you."
"You guys are too kind...to a sickening and persistent degree if I might add," you scoff.
"If it gets you to feel welcome and accustomed here, then by all means, I'll become the most annoying person you're gonna know," Umemiya says, almost too seriously. "I'm here sitting next to you for a reason."
Curious about the sudden change in Umemiya's tone, you see him look sternly at the fountain statue. You've only seen him this morning, but you can tell this was not his usual demeanor.
Umemiya pauses for a moment, seemingly racking his thoughts before speaking, "Care to lend an ear for me, (F/n)?"

Hey cc
So in the vampire pop quiz I think it was Dia who said something very interesting "looks like they are fixated on mc because mc is the manifestation of their desires" now that did align well with my effort to understand why would all 7 of them be this obsessed lol
Anyway in my head mc goes like guys that's just my idea of how a proper human should be lol pretty sure if any other human ended up here who kinda like hot demons you all would be obsessed about that human too
Anyway, can I request a drabble about this kind of mc not insecure, just not understanding why mc deserving all this attention
Barb would be interesting to drabble about this since it took him sooooo looooong to open up to mc a bit
happy to see you are still having fun with Barbs thirst trap đ
-đ
Hi there, đ anon! I apologize for the delay on this - it's been taking me a little longer than I anticipated to get through the drabble requests...
Augh the Barbatos shower picture is going to be the death of me, I swear. I'm still thinking about a nsfw drabble based on one of his lines lkasdfkjfj it's a problem, I swear.
Anyway, here's a Barb drabble with MC not getting why the demons are obsessed with them! I thought it was a cute little scenario. And Barb is just being super romantic as always lol. I can't help it, I am but a humble fluff writer.
Barbatos could see it on your face - a subtle expression that the others might not pick up on. It told him the story of how you were trying your best to hide your own confusion. It was something that happened every time one of the brothers complimented you, when they fought over you, when they expressed this need to always be near you. A slight furrow of your brow, the tiniest downturn of your lips, the fleeting uncertainty that flashed through your eyes.
Ever since your first day in the Devildom, Barbatos had seen this look. He was always watching you. The more he did, the more it became clear to him that you didn't understand why everyone seemed to think there was something special about you.
Perhaps he waited too long. Perhaps he should have mentioned it to you sooner. But you didn't seem distressed. All he ever saw was bafflement. So he let it be for quite some time. Until he finally found himself alone with you when it displayed itself.
Barbatos had been pouring you a cup of tea as he heard about the brothers' latest antics. You were telling him that they had been arguing over who got to work with you on an upcoming school project.
"And then Levi got involved and I had to calm everybody down before Lotan was summoned," you said.
You were looking down at the table, your mind clearly elsewhere, when that expression flashed across your face.
Barbatos put down the teapot. "Does it make you uncomfortable, MC? When they argue over you this way?"
You met his eyes, seemingly startled by his question. "No," you said. "It's a little silly, but it doesn't make me uncomfortable. Why do you ask?"
"It's only that I've noticed the look of confusion you sometimes have in moments like these," Barbatos said. "As if there's something that troubles you about it."
You frowned in thought for a moment. "I guess I just don't understand why they care so much? Why do they think I deserve this much attention? I just act like a regular human would. Why are they so⌠obsessed?"
Barbatos chuckled. "Do you truly not see? This is exactly what makes you so fascinating."
"I don't know what you mean," you said.
"Despite being a totally unique individual, you still believe you are ordinary," Barbatos said gently. "I have been alive for a long time, MC. I have met many humans. No two are alike. You are not 'regular' because there is no such thing. You are yourself and that is why we love you."
Barbatos was pleased to see that confused look replaced by a soft blush. "You" you couldn't finish your question.
Barbatos took your hand and kissed the back of it. "Indeed," he said. "Even I have fallen under your spell. I will remind you of how special you are for the rest of your life if I must."
You laughed, a little taken aback. "I don't think that's going to be necessary."
Barbatos only smiled, your hand still clasped in his. He was content to see such a soft and sweet expression on your face, a glint of happiness in your eyes. Despite what you said, if he ever did see that confusion there again, he would do everything he could to bring your smile back instead.

With a s/o who literally got underestimated by some then they kick their asses with Fyodor ,Chuuya and dazai?đđ
Pls imagine them just watching đ
this idea is so silly! i love it so much oh my lord. thank you for requesting!!
Their S/o Gets Underestimated; Osamu Dazai, Chuuya Nakahara, and Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Format: Scenarios
Possible warnings: Violence, mentions of blood, catcalling, you being a badass
Osamu Dazai
Today you and Dazai were tasked with gaining vital information from the Port Mafia. Out of the two of you, you were the one that excelled in physical strength. You were smart too, yes, but not as smart as your boyfriend. He was the one that made hyper intelligent plans while you were the one that carried them out. Together the two of you made an unstoppable duo for the agency.
âIt should be here,â you said as you looked at your watch. âWeâre early.â
âAh thatâs good news! Now we have time to look around the perimeter just in case thereâs an ambush!â He said rather childishly despite how insightful the words he spoke were.
You pressed your ear up to the entrance of the building. You then heard a faint conversation on the other side of the walls. âWe canât. Theyâre already here.â
Dazai loudly exhaled as he put his hands in his jacket. âLetâs go in then. I want to go home already.â
You nodded as you opened the door. The first thing you saw inside were two grunts holding sophisticated guns. They immediately looked at you and pointed their firearms at you.
âHey! Can you maybe not point those at us?â You asked, already mildly aggravated.
One of the grunts put down his gun, but the other held his ground. âAnd whatâre you gonna do if I donât? Kick my feet?â
Dazai decided to step in. âWeâre here for the information.â
âWell now I donât feel like givinâ it to ya!â He pointed a finger at you. âThey decided to act like they own the damn place right off the bat! They donât even look that strong too!â
âExcuse you! Iâm very strong!â You raised your voice.
Normally you donât get mad this easily, but this grunt decided to underestimate you! You absolutely hated it when people did this to you. What was even the point of it?
âReally? âCause you donât look it!â
Your eye twitched as you turned to Dazai. âMay I?â
âGo right on ahead,â he smirked.
You quickly thanked him, then started to approach the grunt. You cracked your knuckles before punching him straight in the face. You felt your knuckles start to slightly bleed, but it was worth it.
The grunt fell onto his ass with a bloody nose. He then looked up at you with fear in his eyes. âYou punch like a girl.â
âOh thatâs it!â
You went to kick his side and rough him up further, but you felt a hand on your shoulder. You whipped your head around and was greeted with the sight of Dazai slightly smiling. âThatâs enough.â
You sighed as you retreated behind him. Eventually Dazai got the information that the two of you needed, and on the way back you broke out into idle chitchat.
âYou know, youâre very strong,â Dazai complimented.
You looked up at him with a small smile. âAh, thank you. It means a lot coming from you.â
The two of you had eventually reached the agencyâs front doors. Dazai grabbed your hand and looked at the blood that was slowly dripping down your knuckles. âWe need to get you fixed up.â
You only nodded as he opened the door for you. Today was a good day.
Chuuya Nakahara
Today was Chuuyaâs day off and you decided that you wanted to go out on a date with him. It didnât take him much convincing since the last time the two of you went on a date was weeks ago. He wanted to make up for some lost time. Chuuya felt bad that he couldnât give you all of the attention you deserved, so this was the least he could do.
You practically dragged him to the restaurant that you made reservations for. You had your arms wrapped around his right arm, making sure to have a secure grip on him.
As you were about to enter the building, you heard some whistling directed towards you. You and Chuuya looked at where the noise was coming from.
A man in his forties was smirking at you. He was wearing an expensive suit and tie, and his hair looked messily slicked back. It made you nauseous.
âWhatâs a darling little thing like you doing with that short ass, huh?â He asked loudly.
âShort ass?! Listen here buddy, theyâre my S/o and Iâmââ
âI got this.â You put a hand on your boyfriends shoulder, cutting him off. You then redirected your gaze towards the creep. âThis here is my boyfriend, and we were just about to get dinner. Now please leave us alone.â
The male clicked his tongue. âOr what? Are you going to have your boyfriend beat me up since youâre so weak?â
Your grip tightened on Chuuyaâs shoulder. Who did this guy think he was?! âHe doesnât need to protect me, but he may need to protect you from me.â
âWhat, are going to tickle me? Donât make me laugh!â He exclaimed.
Right as the man finished saying that, you ran towards him and swiped his legs from beneath him. He lost his breath from the fall onto his back, so he desperately tried to get air back into his lungs by breathing rapidly.
You turned right back around and walked up towards Chuuya. âI think I lost my appetite,â you murmured.
You absolutely hated being disrespected like that. You knew you were strong, but sometimes people thought otherwise just based on appearances. It rubbed you the wrong way.
Chuuya smirked at the man on the ground. He knew full well that you were capable of beating him; you werenât Chuuyaâs other half for nothing. He made sure that you were able to defend yourself in case you were attacked from a rival group trying to lure him out. In fact, Chuuya had personally trained you. It was tedious, but it payed off.
âCâmon letâs go! I donât want to be here anymore,â you said as you tugged on Chuuyaâs arm. âA crowd is forming and Iâm very uncomfortable.â
Your boyfriend chuckled as you dragged him away from the scene. âYou were so badass, did you know that?â
Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Today you two had to visit the Sky Casino. Sigmaâs mental state wasnât in the best shape, and you took it upon yourself to make sure heâs okay. Fyodor could care less, but he decided to come along anyways because there was something he needed to do. You didnât dare question him; itâs not like heâd tell you anyways.
You two walked into the lavish entry hall hand in hand. The casino was huge, so the chances of getting lost were high.
The two of you rounded a corner and was met with the sight of a grown woman trying to steal a wallet from an unknowing guest. You immediately went in to stop her. Yes, you may be in the Decay of Angels, but you disliked it whenever people committed meaningless crimes. This woman was dressed in very expensive attire, so itâs likely that she already had a lot of wealth.
You grabbed her wrist. âPut that back.â
âExcuse me?!â She whipped her head towards you. âWho do you think you are?!â
The amount of makeup she wore made you feel nauseous. âYou donât need that money.â
âShut your mouth!â She yelled. âYouâre assaulting me!â
You frowned at her words. âYou were the one robbing that man!â
âOkay and?â She gave you a smug look. âItâs not like thereâs much you can do! Youâre not law enforcement.â
Your grip on her wrist tightened. âI can do something, but Iâm sure you wonât like it.â
âWhat are you going to do then, huh?â She gave you a cocky smile.
Your grip on her wrist shifted to her hand. You then applied pressure onto one of fingers. You wanted to break her hand, you really did, but it appeared that the woman was already getting cold feet.
âNo! Donât break it! Fuck okay fine, Iâll leave and give him back the wallet! Alright?!â She begged.
You shrugged your shoulders and let go of her hand. âIâll hold you up to it then.â
The woman put the wallet back into the manâs pocket and ran away. As you saw her retreating you turned back to Fyodor. You then straightened out your outfit with a slight frown.
âIâm sorry about that, Fedya,â you spoke. âShe just bothered me a lot.â
Fyodor only smirked as he wrapped one of his hands around yours. âDonât apologize for that, my love. In fact, I do think she deserved it.â
You nodded as you started to lead him to Sigmas office. âShe even doubted my skills⌠What a bitch.â
âIf you so wish I could dispose of her later later,â he chuckled. âIt wouldnât be that hard of a task.â
You shook your head. âNo, that wonât be necessary.â
âI see,â Fyodor hummed. You two were now just outside of the casino managers office. âThough, Iâd like to say that youâre quite strong. Iâm lucky to have you at my side.â
this was fun to write!

Rare smart person on Tumblr: Yk I just think it's wrong to completely and constantly sideline/hate female characters in favor of male ones, I know that female representation in media isn't where it should be right about now, but surely you can find SOME female characters that you like??? More than you can count on both hands and feet, perhaps? Even if you have to reshape them to have actual depth in fanfiction??? I mean we do it all the time for male characters, so why not female ones? There are plenty of already good female characters that you could enjoy and ship together and write fanfics and thinkpieces about too, why don't they get any of the attention that they deserve?
The rest of the idiots on the so-called "SJW" site: HAHAHAAA! Silly rare smart person on Tumblr, don't you know that it's impossible to care about female characters in any capacity??? I mean, I'm a straight woman/gay man, I'm fundamentally incapable of giving a shit about characters that I can't envision myself fucking. Besides, everyone knows that female characters are never anything other than flat cardboard cutouts(unlike the male cardboard cutout that I've fleshed out in fanfiction and made my blorbo) or sex objects for the male gaze, and even if they're not, what if I don't want to engage in media where the female characters are written as fully-fledged people??? Huh??? What about it??? Are you gonna stop me from consuming the media that I love??? I'm not sexist, it's just that women are written so terribly in every single piece of media that I choose to watch out there so obviously the logical conclusion is to give up on female characters altogether and just focus on male ones, because everyone knows the solution to misogyny in media is to remove the women from the equation, hip hip hooray!!! And also jsyk I DO have female characters that I enjoy! Sure they're all canonically dudes who I headcanon as transfem and he/him lesbians, and sure I consider them "like a girl to me" because they're weak and scared of the dark and cry easily, but that's gotta count for something, right??? I just care about girls so much! Anyway giving a shit about girls is too much work, I'd rather just ship these men who don't talk to each other together while claiming the girlfriend is abusive or a mean lesbian bestie, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!!!

Loving you is a losing game
Marc Spector x fem! reader (Steven and Jake are mentioned briefly)
Summary: Marc meeting you was one of the best things to have happen to him. However, the demons of his past make him feel otherwise. You help him see that the love you share is one that should be fought for.
A/N: This is what I thought while listening to the song Arcade by Duncan Laurence. Of course with a happier twist.
A/N 2: Purely for entertainment purposes, so please donât come after me. As I said, I'm still getting used to writing pieces like this.
Marc Spectorâs life has never been easy. From the trauma of his young brotherâs death to everything heâs during his time as Khonshuâs avatar, heâs felt like a ticking time bomb. Though heâs tried to use his time as Moon Knight to right his wrongs, it never feels like itâs enough.
When he meets you, he begins to see that there is more to life than vengeance. Marc begins to let himself enjoy your presence when he and you hit it off at the gym.
You werenât a gym rat by any means but you had started a membership in the hopes of getting in shape and learning self-defense by using their punching bag. Seeing you hit the bag by yourself catches his attention and he begins to give you some pointers on how to improve your stance. Over time, this leads to you becoming sparring partners and eventually exchanging phone numbers. Although, this leads to you all regularly hanging out outside your sparring hours.
The day he asked you out was a shock for him because not only did he actually let himself be brave enough to ask the question but you eagerly accepted his invitation. Itâs even more surprising to find out that one date led to another. Then another until you both have officially unofficially started dating.
Despite everything going well, he knew that there were things he needed to tell you. About his DID. His past. Being the avatar to an Egyptian deity in exchange to right the wrongs from his ugly past.
This then leads him to begin feeling self conscious about himself. His inner dialogue begins to consist of questions such as: What if he didnât deserve this chance at happiness? What if she thinks Iâm crazy or thinks Iâm making this up?
Marc then begins to hear his motherâs voice. Telling him that he is unworthy of receiving love and will only continue to destroy all the lives that he surrounds himself with. Steven and Jake try to snap him out of this but Marc is paralyzed. At this moment, Marc only thinks one thing.
âI have to break up with her before I hurt herâ, Marc thought.
_____________________________________
âMarc, this isnât funny. Stop joking, you say.
âIâm not joking. I think we should break up,â said Marc.
âBut why, Marc? Did I do something wrong?â
âOf course, you didnât. Youâve been the best thing to have ever happened to me.â
âThen why are you doing this?â You take your hand in his, looking at him sadly. âPlease, tell me why youâre acting as if Iâm a disease.â
âImthedisease.â He says as if heâs trying to rip off a bandage.
âWhat, baby?â
âI said, I'm the disease. I seep into innocent lives and destroy them.â He looks at you tearfully.
âMarc, thatâs silly. What are you talking about?â
Marc then begins to explain everything. From the death of his younger brother to the lives he took during his time as a mercenary. He also makes sure to mention that he is the vigilante, Moon Knight, and has two other individuals living within his head. He concludes all of this by saying, âLoving me is a losing game.â
Once heâs done explaining all of this, Marc is waiting to see your reaction to all this. Will you call him crazy? Run away from him? Scream?
Instead, you take his hands in your own.
âLoving you isnât a losing game, Marc,â you tell him. I love you and long as we have each other, we can face whatever life throws at us.â
At this, Marc pulls you into a big hug. He lets himself break down because he knows that youâre here to stay and love him. For his strengths and weaknesses, through good and bad times. He knows you will be there for him.
As you two are still embracing, he starts to believe that he is worth loving after all.

hey can i be sappy for a moment, i feel like getting a thing off my chest (positive vent)
I love you all in the SMG4 Tumblr community so much. Y'all are absolutely epic and amazing and so creative and just. chill.
I've always been so nervous about joining set fandoms/fandom communities, cuz usually the community is huge and overwhelming, toxic, scary, crazy, and the idea of being in those communities and interacting with people in those communities and being in there not just to post a dingle fanart from it and dip, but to help be a big part of the community and whatnot sounded... overwhelming.
Then I slowly began getting super hyperfixated on SMG4, much more than I usually am, leading me to post more about it. Fanart, things I notice, goofy theories... more than just me saying a couple things i like about it, posting a fanart, then moving onto something else.
I started kinda just exploring the SMG4 tags and gradually, I began recognizing most of the people in this community more and more -- recognizing art styles, etc. I noticed how small a community it was.
And it was a mostly chill community. I wasn't really seeing much drama or questionable things, maybe some criticisms about the show or theories or whatever, but nobody was at each others throats. Plus, the fan OCs were super neat.
I had begun posting more and more SMG4 content, drawing fanart, their OCs, and the fact people were so just... chill and welcoming about it was so nice. It wasn't nearly as scary -- we are all just vibing here. Most of the artists you look up to will probably see your work, and give it attention too.
It feels super strange to be considered an SMG4 Tumblr artist, having people literally enjoying the things I make and making things for me when they make things for SMG4 fanartists... its honestly super surreal. But so so exciting and euphoric.
Cuz yall are so awesome!! Yall make my day so bright. Yall are the best.
I'll be honest, when I first was slowly being a part of the SMG4 community -- sometime right after summer vacation began -- I had been dealing with some petty but difficult irl person issues.
I don't want to get into it too much, but I had basically messed up in a pretty bad way (enough to make me feel bad the moment I did it, but not enough that we couldn't move on and mature from it), and the people involved were hurt worse than I thought they were, and instead of trying to talk it out they resorted lying about being my friends for months before school ended, and over summer break, tried to cancel one of my Scratch account and drag my followers there into drama that they had no business being in, for the simple reason being "you don't deserve all that fame".
Despite their attempt at trying to cancel me not really working out very well, it very much affected me negatively and made me very very scared about using Scratch again. I still post projects there sometimes, but i felt weird when i do it. I felt like those people were watching my every move, waiting to try and drag me down again. It felt so strange and scary to feel like the people I once cared so deeply about are breathing down my neck, waiting for me to make another wrong move and add it to their proof of why I'm an awful person.
It sucks ass.
The SMG4 community here on Tumblr, despite none of you knowing I was going through anything at all, you all helped a lot. Just existing.
Being a welcoming community that I feel safe to be silly and normal in.
I've never been the best at expressing appreciation, but let me just say:
I think of you all so highly and I never want you to change.
Keep making silly art. Or fanfics. Or AUs. Or OCs. Or whatever you like doing in this tiny close-knit fandom.
Keep doing everything you're doing to make this community mean so much to me.
â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
...this sounds like im leaving the community,, IM NOT I just wanted to get it off my chest cuz ive been experiencing the emotions⢠yknow, sorry that its not like my regular posts lol, im not gonna post like this much LMAOOO
TL;DR: yall are fuckin awesome please keep being awesome forever and ever ily bye

Danganronpa: One Shot - Prologue & Chapter 1 Analysis
Hello lovelies and loveliers! Since DR:OSâ first chapter has officially closed out, I figured itâd be a good idea to touch base and make a little analysis of all its characters and the things that have happened before moving forward! ⌠Is what I would say, if Iâd gotten this out in time. Yeah I took too long and now CH2âs started already (_ _ ///). Iâm not sure Iâll do this every chapter, seeing how long it takes me compared to how fast DROS updates, but yâknow. Weâll cross that bridge when we get there :v For now, letâs talk about the sillies!Â
CWs: Daily Life and Deadly Life
The format here will be the same as the one I followed for my DRDT CH2 analysis. That is, start by talking about the general plot and the trial, and then go character by character, in ascending order of relevance for this chapter. Though, obviously, what characters are more relevant than others is subjective, but I'll try :vÂ
However, there's a few extras this time around. For starters, back when all we had of the cast were a couple of drawings and symbols, I made some early predictions about what they would be like. Though I won't go over all the predictions, I will at least make some comments on my talent predictions, so there's that. Additionally, since we know DROS has an in-cast mastermind, I'll rank the characters based on how likely I find them to be the mm, and give a little reasoning for that. I didn't really think I had enough to say on that front for a separate post, so I'm sticking it here! With that said, let's get into it!
Daily Life & Deadly Life
I don't have a whole lot to say about the Daily Life section of CH1, since it's mostly composed of character interactions that will be brought up later. I do love the "talent show for secondary talentsâ idea, but the prologue deserves a bit more attention since it's the setup for the setting of the killing game.
The charactersâ last memories of the outside include the start of the Tragedy (back when it hadn't left Japan yet), so we can't be too far from that even when taking the cast's mass amnesia into account. Fun fact, thanks to the CH1 Bonus Scenes, we can actually place the moment the castâs memories cut off (assuming itâs all the same time barring Mark) at some point after 4/10/2011, which is the release date of "The Son of Neptune", a book referenced in the Robert & Taylor scene. It may also be before 7/10/2014, which is when The Blood of Olympus, the last book in that particular series of Percy Jackson books, released. I say that based on how Mark and Taylor talk about the Percy Jackson series, but I could be wrong on that. Also yes Iâm using non-American notation for dates because the way the US does it, as usual, is stupid.Â
This killing game is also the sixth held in the resort, which is a pretty noteworthy thing even if we know very little about what its significance is. In terms of timeline, my current assumption is that this is happening after Junko's death in the THH killing game, meaning the thing is maybe being organized by Remnants of Despair, but I have very little reason to believe this beyond the fact that these people are doing a killing game in the first place.
Something that particularly interests me at this point is the place the killing game is happening in. See, at several points, it's been made clear that the organizers of this killing game really want to stick very closely to the Hope's Peak aesthetic. In particular, as Kennedy points out in her introduction, Ellis is not just called the âUltimate Lucksterâ or something of the sort, but rather, they're the âUltimate Lucky Studentâ even when they aren't a student at all. This is presumably because all Hope's Peak classes have an Ultimate Lucky Student, so when choosing the participants for the killing game, the organizers specifically chose someone to fit that role.Â
However, if they're that committed to the Hope's Peak aesthetic, why hold the killing game in a resort and casino, instead of a school? Did they not have access to a school, or even a school-like building? Is it simply because the mastermind wanted to be more comfortable through the course of the killing game? Is there another reason I'm missing? Is there even a reason? One could also ask why the organizers grabbed a bunch of adults, instead of high schoolers, but I find the question of the building a bit more pressing. In any case, it's not something that I feel can be properly speculated upon right now. We lack too much critical information. However, I will note it down as an interesting mystery moving forward.Â
But after peace comes a storm; Deadly Life time! The first case is a hell of a start, with the sheer brutality of a dismemberment setting the bar high for future trials in terms of how complicated the murder plans could get. Though Iâm not really the biggest fan of gore only for the sake of shock, I think this case does just enough to instantly hook the reader with the premise of such a brutal method, without dwelling excessively in it and letting other parts of the case carry the mystery. The fact it happened before a formal motive announcement was also its own hook. Basically I like it :D
The mystery itself was fun, too! Nothing too crazy, which is expected of a first case, but things like the motion sensors and the ever present question of why the hell Cass left their room to go to the casino made for a pretty fun enigma to think about.
The trial was also very engaging, especially with how high the mini game to word ratio was. Pretty fun to play along with those things! Although Iâm sending up a prayer to the creatorsâ Docs main page, thereâs gonna be so many mini game docs by the time this ends xD The cast of One Shot is⌠not the fastest, presumably because the authors prefer a high ratio of minigames, but they make for a lot of pretty fun moments in the trial.Â
Finally, all the more introspective sections we get with Ellis every now and then are great, but thatâs mostly because Ellis is awesome so Iâll get into it more in their section :v
Alright, now to get started on the characters!Â
Monoquin
Cool mascot! Though I hope youâll forgive I donât have much to say about him, seeing as so far heâs been more of a Thing facilitating the progress of the killing game than an actual character. Not a bad thing, he is what he is, and a mascot thatâs actually pretty professional helps keep the focus on the cast in pretty much all scenes, which is a benefit.Â
Harper Young
-Original talent guess: Pacifist/Activist/Make-Other-People-Feel-Good-Person -Actual talent: Philanthropist -Talent prediction notes: Well the idea was there xD -Likes: Charities. Dislikes: Vineyards.Â
I mean, ve really doesnât do much this chapter. Right now, all we really know about ver is that ve had run into Noah before the killing game doing charity work around his frat, that ve likes to knit, and that veâs getting kinda restless not being able to so much to help people.
Noah [CH1, Page 41]: Yo, Harper? Harper: Hm? What is it? Noah: You wanna do something, or⌠something? You seem on edge. Harper: Oh, apologies. I suppose Iâm not used to not doing anything. Iâll go grab my quilt.
(Note: All quotes from CH1 are cited with the page they're found in the full chapter doc)
This also gets reiterated a few times during ver Bonus Scene with Noah. In that scene, Noah also implies that Harper's not just rich, but a billionaire.
Noah: [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 8]: Yeah⌠I definitely didnât have to struggle or anything, but Iâm sure thereâs a difference between upper middle class and literal billionaire.
Thatâs still quite a fair bit for the character who got the least focus in the chapter imo, which is cool.Â
I can see ver character going a few different ways, either breaking down from restlessness or the inability of helping those who die from the killing game. Ve's been relatively calm so far, but who knows how long that's gonna last.
On another note, what beef does ve have with vineyards. They don't seem like uniquely bad businesses from what I found on a few browser searches. Harper, what did the grapes do? ToT
-Mastermind Ranking: 7/16. Harper's actually on the lower end of the people I suspect a bit. While ve has less outright disqualifying lines (aka things the mm would never say) than those below ver, ve does seems genuinely worried about what's happening outside.
Harper [CH1, 2]: Even if it isnât something Iâm required to do, I have commitments Iâm worried about letting down. There are people to help.
Question: What personal belonging from the outside would you bring into the killing game? Harper: âAn update on how my foundations are doing would set my mind at ease.â
And while that could all be a lie, the extra detail that ve's restless and not all that happy in the killing game is enough for me to put ver relatively low on the list.Â
Robert Smith
-Original talent guess: Blank Slate/Regular Person/Guy -Actual talent: Normie -Talent prediction notes: Actually kinda proud of this one! -Likes: Pizza. Dislikes: Mosquitoes.
Robert is a very interesting character to have in a cast so full of weird-ass characters as this one (or any fangan cast really). He didnât do much in CH1, per se, but his normality contrasted with everyone elseâs⌠deal⌠certainly helps establish how no one here is all that well adjusted. Robertâs the most shaken up over Cassâ death, just on how gruesome the murder was, for example. And given how he talks about how impressive he believes the others to be based on his CH1 Bonus Scene, this does seem like itâs going to be a recurring thing for his character.Â
That said, there is also the fact that Robert seems to enjoy literature, what with him reading Percy Jackson and his secondary talent being reading a poem. And this means itâs time to go Literature Girl Insane (itâs funnier the third time! /ref), and see if thereâs any symbolism in the literature my guy brings up.
The book referenced in his Bonus Scene, âThe Son of Neptune,â doesnât strike me as incredibly relevant⌠from a reading of the Wikipedia plot summary- look Iâve never read Percy Jackson youâre gonna have to deal with that.
Thereâs something to be said about how Percy being an outcast at the camp he arrives at or something could connect to Robertâs feelings about being an outcast in the presence of Ultimates (Taylorâs too), but thatâs kinda all I could gather. The plot being about Percy being an amnesiac, if anything, would connect it more to Mark, unless Robert or Taylor have some kind of important memories missing as well. Or maybe Iâm reading too much into it and âThe Son of Neptuneâ just got picked because itâs a popular book that a normie would read and fits the time frame of DROS, who knows!
As for the poem he reads in the talent show, âThe Road Not Takenâ, itâs a little more interesting when applied to Robert. As I said in my First Impressions post for that particular part, the fact the poem itself is a bit open ended in interpretation means that itâs hard to know how to apply it to Robertâs character. However, hereâs my current best guess:Â
The Road Not Taken shows a person in a fork in a road, who takes one of the paths and wonât return to take the other. In the moment, itâs clear both are equally traveled. However, in retrospect, the person claims âwith a sighâ that they took the road less traveled and âit made all the difference.â Whether the difference was good or bad is left up to the reader, but the main thing to note is the fact that the personâs hindsight is flawed because neither road was actually traveled more or less than the other.Â
In his Bonus Scene, Robert says this:
Robert [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 3]: âI have to try so hard to pretend Iâm feeling normal and not lose my cool, so that I can fit in with everyone else.â
So, Robert wants to fit in, he basically wants to be ânormalâ in a sense. Remember how the difference taking the road less traveled makes can be either good or bad depending on the reader? Robert would be afraid that taking the road less traveled, ânot fitting inâ, would make a negative difference. That means he always wants to take the other road, which is presumably what led him to be the Ultimate Normie.
However, keep in mind that both roads in the poem are actually equal. Robert does what he thinks is normal, not what is actually normal. Because ânormalâ is relative. In the killing game, moving on quickly from a death is ânormalâ, where as that likely wouldnât be the case outside of this setting or with different participants. This sets up a possible arc of Robert learning to choose whichever âroadâ he wants without worrying about fitting in, because the concept of âfitting inâ is sorta flawed in a sense. Cue parallels with Taylor (more on that later) and foils with Aidan, who as the Ultimate Contrarian would be representative of always taking the road less traveled, if such a thing exists.Â
Or maybe Iâm reading way too much into this and the poem just got picked because of the irony of the Ultimate Normie reading a poem from the perspective of someone who believes to have gone against the norm. Thatâs also very possible xD
-Mastermind ranking: 4/16. It might shock you to see him this high, but it really shouldnât. Robert doesnât have any lines going directly against the possibility of him being the mm the way some other people do, and Tsumugi from V3 gives precedent to the idea that maybe we shouldnât trust the âplainâ ones. Plus, I could see some point about how during the Tragedy, it would be ânormalâ for someone to be obsessed with causing despair. The only reason he isnât higher is his squeamishness at the sight of Cassâ corpse.Â
Noah Walker
-Original talent guess: Hellenic Scholar -Actual talent: Frat Boy -Talent prediction notes: I did pick up the frat bro vibes, but the Greek letters threw me off. I now know that represents his frat's "name", per say. The US is a very, very strange place. -Likes: Electric Guitar. Dislikes: Fights.
Similar to the last two, not much going on with him yet. He's talked about his dad disliking the idea of Noah failing out of college, and apparently has two sisters:Â
Noah [CH1, Page 2]: I donât think my dad would be happy if I failed out of collegeâŚ
Harper [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 8]: You said you had sisters, right? Noah: Yeah, two of them.
Plays guitar, played basketball in high school, doesn't get hangoversâŚ
Grace [CH1, 58]: Iâm surprised you donât seem to be hungover, Noah? Noah: Oh, that doesnât happen with me. Pretty cool.
And had met Harper before the killing game in charity events his frat set up. So, yeah :v
Unlike with Harper and Robert, I have few guesses as to where this guy's going character-wise. Genuinely no clue :p
Btw, I did try to research if his frat, Lambda Omega đ˛đ (I think? The capital Lambda is upside down on his pendant for some reason, but there's no other capital Greek letter that looks like that), and I found out something quite interesting.
I really have no idea how the US works, in the slightest. I couldn't make sense of half the info I was getting :p
Apart from that, while real life đ˛đ does in fact exist, I didn't see anything immediately related to Noah. So, if it's important, let it be brought up in the story itself xD
Finally, since I overanalyzed Robertâs poem in the talent show, I may as well do the same for the others. Though Noahâs pick of playing âEye of the Tigerâ isnât too hard to understand. Itâs a song all about ambition and passion, which is very popular with Noahâs general demographic. Basically itâs the exact type of song youâd expect a frat boy to play in a talent show :p
-Mastermind Ranking: 6/16. Everything I said about Harper applies to this guy as well. He's only higher because there's less instances of him disliking the killing game environment, aside from disliking the actual murder aspect of course.
Davis Love
-Original talent guess: Romantic. -Actual talent: Bachelor. -Talent prediction notes: Close, yet so far. -Likes: Wildflowers. Dislikes: Pick-up Lines.
Half these people have insane talents, and Davisâ is no exception. Anyone who is attracted to men will apparently be attracted to Davis, be it romantically or sexually or both depending on their sexuality. Certainly an interesting setup for a character, which we've already seen effects of with how uncomfortable he is when people flirt with him. It's worth noting he's pan and has had a girlfriend before:
Question: Most embarrassing experience? Davis: [...] I guess, really shortly before my junior prom, my girlfriend at the timeâŚ
So it's not like he's completely opposed to romance, he's presumably just had bad experiences. There's even a line where, after learning of the motion sensor trackers, Davis specifically is the one to bring up the question of why Cass was tracking their movements. While this could just be a coincidence, it's possible he's particularly concerned about the sensors because he's had some kind of experience with a stalker tracking his movements, as his talent would make that relatively likely. Maybe. We'll have to see.
Davis [Page 125]: âŚCass was tracking us. Why would theyâŚ?
Though, on the topic of his talent, one thing I haven't talked about is the caveat that Ultimate Contrarian is the Ultimate Counter to Ultimate Bachelor. The talent meta goes crazy.Â
Davis [CH1, 13]: If someone wants some form of a relationship with someone, they want it with me. Aidan: Really? Aidan takes a seat at the table, entering our conversation. Aidan: I donât think Iâve felt that way. Davis: Are you attracted to men? Aidan: Yeah? Davis: âŚTrans men? Aidan: Sure? Davis: âŚ??? Ellis: Huh. Thatâs what happens when âUltimate Contrarianâ and âUltimate Bachelorâ collide, I guess.
(Oh yeah Davisâ trans btw. Cool!)
What's interesting is that, maybe because of this or maybe not, Aidan and Davis seem to be getting set up as some sort of duo? The aforementioned "Contrarian vs Bachelorâ scene is not the only time they're seen together. The two of them were apparently just wandering around together before the "Motive TBAâ scene, and while they were investigating separately, they were also the only people in the Customer Service Desk during the Cass case investigation.
Narration [Page 62]: As I sit on the couch, I notice Aidan and Davis approaching the Movie Theater. [...] Davis: Oh, hey Ellis. We were just wandering around.
Narration [Page 84]: ⌠I head out, and travel down to the Customer Service Desk. I see Aidan and Davis separately looking around, and am drawn to Davis first.
Davis is also the first person to compliment Aidan's clarinet skills in the secondary talent show.Â
Narration [Page 23]: Once it ends, people start clapping, and Aidan gets off stage as fast as possible. Davis: That was pretty great, Aidan!
The scene about the motive strikes me as particularly noteworthy, because Aidan is not exactly the most social person around, so seeing him just "wander aroundâ with someone is interesting. Where this particular pair is gonna go is a fantastic question, especially because I'm not even 100% it is a notable pair, but I'm interested in seeing it! Or- not seeing it if I'm hallucinating its existence, I guess!
Finally, for your regularly scheduled song overanalysis! In the talent show, Davis sings ¨Mine¨ by Taylor Swift, which is by all means a pretty standard love song as far as I can tell. Possibly the most interesting part of the song for our purposes, though, is a section where the singer and their lover get into a fight, and while the singer believes they're about to break up, their lover actually tries to mend the relationship. It's possible this hints to the reason why Davis is a Bachelor; for some reason or another, his lovers keep getting into fights with him and always break up after. Thus, Davis singing this song could be expressing his desire for a partner who is more understanding or forgiving.
However, that´s a pretty insane reach even for my standards, and I don't think anything else weâve seen implies it, so I currently donât think thereâs much of a connection between Davis and the song beyond it being a love song :v
-Mastermind Ranking: 3/16. If you're surprised he's this high, I am too. He's kinda just here because I can't point to any single line that implies he's not the mm, something that I can do for the people below him. I don't really think he's that likely to be the mastermind, though having the mm be the guy who dislikes pick-up lines and whose talent is deeply connected to romance and sexuality could serve as a good foil to the protagonist we got going on, in some way, which is an okay-ish argument assuming the creation process of DROS even allows for the mm to be picked with the protag in mind (I got no clue :v).Â
Grace Thomas
-Original talent guess: Mechanic. -Actual talent: Clockmaker. -Talent prediction notes: N/A. -Likes: Efficiency. Dislikes: Being late.
We got a fair bit of backstory from Grace this chapter, and frankly not much else. Still cool stuff!
We learnt from the little round of Never Have I Ever that their parents are strict and kinda overbearing, that they graduated high school early (well, got a GDE, donât yell at me if thereâs differences Iâm omitting), etc. One thing that gets repeated a lot is how Grace absolutely loathes wasting time, hence them getting a GDE and such. We also know from the Prologue that they have a boyfriend, and from a question we know his name is Justin, heâs very popular, and they met in high school. All very neat stuff!
I⌠donât have much else to say here. Thereâs certainly something to be said about their propensity for going as fast as possible when contrasted with people like Jeff, who seem to take stuff with a lot more chill. Graceâs main fixation right now seems to be escaping as fast as possible, so weâll see how that develops in the future!
Well, seems to be.
-Mastermind ranking: 2/16. Theyâve dropped one spot from my post-prologue predictions, but theyâre still a pretty good contender in my mind. Everything I said in my original Predictions Game post in terms of themes and the like stands. Though, to be fair, we havenât really seen the themes I speculated based on title and prologue lore alone come into play yet, so maybe the point truly is moot.
The only big sticking point some of you might have with them being the mm would be the fact that they seem committed to escaping, but that could easily be faked. It could actually be a decent strategy to discourage others from investigating escape routes themselves, if they think Grace is on it and canât find anything. All theyâd have to do to discourage looking for escape routes is say something like-
Grace [CH1, 8]: Though, Iâll hand it to the runners of this game, theyâve done a good job of eliminating any trace of an exit.
Yeah like that.Â
But beyond that, thereâs also one other, particular reason Grace still stands above the others as an mm candidate in my mind, which they share with #1. Iâll explain when I talk about said #1.Â
Paris Hall
-Original talent guess: Tea Maker or Queen/Princess -Actual talent: Gossip -Talent prediction notes: Not even close xD -Likes: Acrylic Nails. Dislikes: Windy Days. Â
Our first FTE haver! Though in true Gossip fashion, Paris hardly gives out info about herself, and prefers to discuss literally anyone else's business. All we really know about her personally is that she has a big following online, and apparently friends, though as far as I remember she's never mentioned any family.Â
As for the happenings of the killing game itself, her reveal of Antonia and Cassâ beef could be the first of many instances where Parisâ love for gossip develops conflict amongst the group, which would be very interesting to see. But perhaps more interesting than that is her reaction to Cassâ murder. Or, rather, the lack of one. Paris behaves pretty much the same during the trial than outside of it, giving little indication that sheâs even all that worried about the whole thing. I donât exactly have any real guess as to why this happens (assuming sheâs not the mm), but Iâm very curious to find out.Â
Finally, thereâs her relationship with Taylor. Although Paris keeps tabs on everyone, sheâs taking a particular interest in Taylor and calling them her âbestieâ⌠for some reason. Allegedly, the bond comes from shared music taste and their talent show performances, which is I suppose a valid reason to start a friendship. But given my use of âallegedlyâ, you can probably tell that I donât trust this all that much.
Paris sketches me out, and this isnât new. That was part of the reason I thought her to be the CH1 killer after the investigationâs end, after all. Probably doesnât help that Ellis constantly inner monologues about how dangerous she is due to her information gathering skills, and that Antonia clearly believed Paris to be on her wavelength during their Prologue Bonus Scene. And to be clear, Antoniaâs wavelength is not somewhere trustworthy people are found. Hence why Iâm worried Parisâ intentions with Taylor arenât fully innocent. Whether sheâs trying to get an ally in preparation for a trial where sheâs the blackened, or creating an easy target for her to kill, or something else entirely, there are many very dangerous reasons Paris could have to befriend Taylor like that.
Of course, though, itâs also entirely possible that Iâm insane and that Paris genuinely just wants to befriend Taylor for the sake of friendship itself. And generally thatâs what Iâd assume, as I personally like to try and be trusting of fictional characters, but idk. Maybe I just canât handle a bad bitch making friends, and that oneâs on me. Who knows!
Though, on the topic of the talent show, Paris danced to "Toxic". Continuing to overanalyze these picks⌠this one doesnât paint a great picture. "Toxic" features the singer speaking to someone whose love is addictive and âtoxicâ, which I could see being recontextualized to imply something about Parisâ relationship with her fans (be it them being addicted to her or her being addicted to them), but⌠Well. As of right now, the most straightforward interpretation could be that Paris is a âtoxicâ friend to Taylor. Just in case we needed more red flags there.
Then again, I could always just be reading into these things too deeply. Maybe venus just likes the song and thereâs no further meaning, like that thing that happened with Wizardry 8 during pre-release lol.Â
-Mastermind ranking: 1/16. Yep. I mean. I donât trust Paris. This has been established.Â
Her lack of reaction to murder is one of the biggest red flags here, of course, but her talent would also make it easy to gather info on the contestants for things like the âlikes & dislikesâ section of their profiles and potential future motives, and her propensity for creating conflict could be useful if DROS is going for the âtelevised killing gameâ angle. In the Cass-Kennedy Bonus Scene, Kennedy brings up that since the mm revealed their existence to the cast, they probably want them to speculate of who the mm is, and Paris revealing Cass and Antoniaâs cross-suspicion could be helping to do just that.Â
Kennedy [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 12]: If the mastermind wants it to be known that thereâs a mastermind, they probably want it to inspire drama. What better way to do that than making accusations public and starting feuds?
The fact that one of the big narrative themes weâve been seeing so far is âsecretsâ (which I'll discuss mainly in Cass and Antonia's sections) could also give a foundation for the mm to be the Ultimate Gossip.Â
Finally, and this is the big thing that really puts Paris above the rest in my mind; I donât see any arc sheâs going through that would be invalidated by her being the mm. Robertâs struggles to fit in, Davisâ deal with relationships and the such, Taylorâs self-image issues (we'll to those in their section), all would be kinda moot points if theyâre the mm. Like, Iâm sure thereâs a way to make them work, but itâd be a bit difficult. Meanwhile, the main thing Paris has got going on is her relationship with Taylor, which can easily be spun into part of Taylorâs arc if Paris ends up being the mm.
This is the quality that Paris only really shares with Grace that puts both of them at the top of my list, the one I alluded to in Graceâs mm section. The reason Paris is slightly above them is⌠honestly just vibes xD I trust Grace more than I trust Paris, thatâs the whole reasoning there. Theyâre actually somewhat equal candidates in my mind.
I could be wrong, of course, but well. Theyâre predictions for a reason!
Kennedy Rey
-Original talent guess: Conspiracy Theorist. -Actual talent: Conspiracy Theorist. -Talent prediction notes: B) -Likes: Mysteries. Dislikes: Skeptics.
Fellow insane people from Tumblr, meet our spitting image. Kennedy spends the entire chapter doing what she does best: being completely insane and constantly throwing out theories about the mm. Heâs insane in a pretty fun way, and itâs always fun to have them on screen!
We learn little about Kennedyâs life outside the killing game, other than the fact that they know a little of self-defense because theyâre extremely paranoid. We donât really know what she even does with her life, frankly. But Kennedy has enough stuff going on in the killing game itself to make up for it!
As of right now, Kennedy has several noteworthy relationships with other characters. First is his working relationship with Vivi, the only person who seems to genuinely hold Kennedyâs opinion in high regard. And of course they do! She also knows what itâs like to be disregarded as insane because her methods are unorthodox, being a Mad Doctor and all. Makes me wonder if thereâll be some foiling between the oh so normal Robert and the âMad Duoâ (which is what Iâm calling them now and you canât stop me).
Cass was also a theorizing buddy to Kennedy in at least one scene, but she always seemed to be more interested in investigating on her own. See: not telling anyone about the trackers or them spying on Antonia. Their Bonus Scene has Kennedy attempting to ascertain whether Cass would be a good theorizing buddy after her whole beef with Antonia, suggesting that Kennedy genuinely enjoys having other people to discuss their theories with. Pretty fun! Shame Cass died :p
And of course, Kennedyâs legendary beef with Aidan. By virtue of being the Ultimate Contrarian who hates assumptions and uncontested opinions, Aidan is basically diametrically opposed to Kennedy, and their mutual dislike is made apparent all across the chapter. Although Aidan ends up usually looking like the one in the right in comparison to Kennedy, Iâm very interested in how this rivalry is going to develop in future chapters!
-Mastermind ranking: 12/16. Way too committed to finding the mm for it not to be genuine. Sure, by his own logic from the Bonus Scene this would actually make him suspicious, but come on. Thereâs a limit to how much a mastermind would try to find the mastermind, surely xD
Taylor Long
-Original talent guess: Actor -Real talent: Impressionist -Talent guess notes: The comedy and tragedy masks fooled me T_T -Likes: Movie theaters. Dislikes: Rock bands. -Notes: Can I ask about the rock bands? Lol
Taylor has self-image issues, and itâs possibly the clearest issue any of these characters have lol.Â
Taylor [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 2, to Robert]: I try to fit in, but at the end of the day, Iâm just me, you know? The only special part about me is when Iâm doing an impression of someone else. Other than that, Iâm just as regular as you.
Like, I could find other examples, but this oneâs probably enough to get the point across, no? Taylor clearly doesnât have the highest opinion of themselves, so they channel other peopleâs energy to get the confidence they need to get their opinions out. All throughout the trial, they continuously make impressions of Cass and occasionally Kennedy to bring up their ideas. During their FTE, they constantly try to accommodate for Ellisâ tastes, constantly asking what she wants to do and what her friends are usually like.
Ellis [CH1, 38]: They, uh⌠theyâre wild, and crazy! Always down to party. Super rich and popular, too. Taylor: Oh, I see⌠They think. Taylor: It really is kinda surprising that you like me, then. I mean, I definitely can do those things, but it takes me a little while to come out of my shell⌠[...] Taylor: Sorry, I just realized I kind of took over the conversation. Was there something you wanted to talk about? Ellis: Hmm, not particularly. Actions speak louder than words. Taylor: Oh! Then, um, do you want me to do somethingâŚ? Ellis: Do you want to do something? Taylor: Um⌠whatever you want is fine with me!
And of course, Taylor somehow thinks that making an impression of Antonia directly after her execution is a great idea to cheer Vanessa up, instead of comforting her with their own words.
Vanessa [CH1, 152]: âŚToni⌠Taylor: Please donât be upset⌠umâŚÂ Taylor goes over to Vanessa and gently places a hand on their upper arm. Taylor: âDonât be upset, darlingââ Vanessa: Stop that!
You know, like a fucking insane person-
Right now, we mostly have setup for some kind of arc about these self-image issues, and Iâm very curious to see where exactly theyâre going to go with it. This how there could be some parallels with Robert and the like, which weâve already seen explored to some extent in their bonus scene.
The other main arc Taylorâs got going on is the Paris thing, but Iâve already covered that in the Paris section, so. Yeah.
Finally, for the last of the talent show song pick analysis, Taylor dances to âBorn This Wayâ, making a sort of impression of Lady Gaga as they did. Of course, this further hints at their self-esteem issues, as they donât seem to believe to have any talent beyond their impressions, which makes the decision to pick a song about self love all the more ironic. And yes, I believe thatâs why they lip sync to this song specifically, because their presumed character arc is likely to be about self-love.Â
-Mastermind ranking: 5/16. They have a few lines in the Prologue that would read slightly weird in the context of Taylor!MM, but nothing outright disqualifying. That, combined with the idea that the killing game could be an âimpersonationâ of Hopeâs Peak and maybe specifically the THH killing game, are the only reasons Taylor is this high. There's not much else here so far :v
Vivian Mitchell
-Original talent guess: Surgeon/Doctor -Actual talent: Mad Doctor -Talent prediction notes: Well. Close enough? -Likes: Experimentation. Dislikes: Supervisors.Â
Viviâs great! Sheâs just a pretty fun character. This chapter, she doesnât really do much beyond being Kennedyâs sidekick and performing an autopsy, though I decided her involvement in the actual case and investigation warranted being a bit later in the post than those before her (look this format is far from an exact science xD). Iâve already covered said connection with Kennedy, and the autopsy thing is more a trial thing than a character analysis thing- well, other than saying this:
Vivi [CH1, 90]: I mean, Iâd be lying if I said I hadnât done a few Vivi-sections before, but on a personâŚ? Robert: âŚDo you mean dissectionsâŚ? Vivi: âŚYup!
Which⌠implies she thought Cass got dismembered while they were still alive? Assuming Viviâs using the usual meaning of vivisection (dissections on things that are still alive) and isnât just making a confusing pun. But their autopsy should have determined that wasnât the case, I think, so.
Look, confusing puns aside, the point is that Vivi has probably done some kind of vivisections on animals as party of the experimentation their profile says they like. At least, thatâs my current theory on why they said that.
One other thing: Vivi seems to be the character who is most often pushing the idea that someone else should be coming to rescue them.
Vivi [CH1, 3]: Okay, yeah, or our families or friends could, like, do something! What, you really think all of your loved ones would straight up accept you were missing and not look into anything themselves
Vivi [CH1, 65]: I mean, someoneâs gotta be looking. The question is whether or not they can actually rescue us, and if so, how soon.
Combined with some things said in CH2 Part 1 (I really took too long to write this :v), it seems Vivi has a pretty good relationship with her family, which is⌠something!
Viviâs definitely have some other stuff going on, though. So far, we only have vague indications on what exactly puts the âMadâ in her Mad Doctor talent, so I could see that being elaborated on later, and her fixation with no one dying around her that we saw in the Prologue is something that could certainly develop into an interesting arc. Overall, pretty curious about them!
-Mastermind ranking: 11/16. The main reason Viviâs this low is the fact that they resent their Ultimate title.Â
Vivi [Prologue, 24]: Itâs such a judgmental way to put the Ultimate title! I just do what I think is gonna work! And it always works. So, if you or anyone you know is ever in danger of dying or anything, let me know
Were she the mm, she would have no reason not to just call herself the Ultimate Doctor instead. This, combined with their team-up with Kennedy to find the mm, makes it highly unlikely that theyâre the mm in my mind.
Aidan Ho
-Original talent guess: N/A -Actual talent: Contrarian. -Talent prediction notes: N/A. -Likes: Pop rocks. Dislikes: Assumptions. -Notes: One of the most random likes here I think lol.
For me, Aidanâs possibly one of the most fascinating characters in a cast full of fascinating characters. Youâd think his constant questioning of everything and everyone around him, combined with his generally uncooperative attitude, would make him a relatively unpopular character amongst the cast (beyond possibly Davis as discussed earlier), but he manages to not piss off too many people simply by being a paragon of common sense in the crazy people place. Well, other than Kennedy, as I've mentioned. Aidan also strikes me as one of the smarter characters, and thus has a fair amount of cool moments in the trial.Â
Aidan [CH1, 134]: âŚ[Cass was] careful with their introduction, huhâŚ? Davis: What do you mean? Aidan: Before Cass gave me her name or her talent, she led into the words âUltimate Agentâ by talking about other peopleâs work. They were making sure that I was already thinking about fucking commerce by the time they had to say it.
(By the way, I just noticed this now on a re-read, but why "fucking commerce"? Is he that pressed about being manipulated and lied to? Interesting character tidbit)
Aidan [CH1, 141]: Because youâre not backing it up. If belief is the only thing youâve got, then it makes it seem like belief is the only thing there is.
Robert [CH1, 143]: Sheâs⌠making a lot of good points. Maybe we should listen to herâŚ? Aidan: No way. Davis: Huh? Aidan: Sheâs cornered. Do you really want to let her manipulate you when sheâs like this?
(Speaking of his apparent distaste for manipulation)
And his reaction to Antoniaâs execution is fun.
Aidan [CH1, 151]: âŚGlad thatâs over. Vivi: How can you be at all glad right now? We just watched someone die! Right in front of usâŚ! Aidan: What, you wish she was still in the process of dyingâŚ?
That weird disregard for the horrifying shit he just witnessed is possibly an extension of the views he expressed in his FTE.Â
Aidan [CH1, 6]: I know other people care, and I can respect that. If they care enough about something to fight for itâ even if that thing is as simple as their lifeâ I wouldnât get in the way of that. Ellis: You think lives are simpleâŚ? Aidan: Caring about your life is. Isnât that, like, basic human instinct or whatever? Ellis: I mean, yeah, I guess. But itâs not so wrong to indulge in your primal instincts, is it? He shrugs. Aidan: If thatâs what interests you. Ellis: And what interests you, then? For some reason, I feel like Iâve been hearinâ a whole lot of ânoâ and not a lot of âyes. Aidan: Does it really matterâŚ? He scowls. Aidan: I really donât care what happens with any of this. So, if other people do, good for them. For now, what I know is that Iâm here. Thatâs all. Ellis: Exactly. Youâre here! Youâve got the world at your fingertips, what with that weird Customer Service Desk thingy! You gotta figure out how to enjoy yourself! Aidan: I appreciate how unconcerned you are despite everyone else being all moody, but⌠no way. Either weâll get out of here, or we wonât. In the meantime⌠it doesnât really matter.
I decided to put the full quote there because it really is very strange. Aidanâs another character whose life outside the killing game is still a mystery to us, but perhaps that is because he doesnât feel he has anything to return to. He just seems fundamentally uninterested in everything, up to and including his own life. Sure, he didnât say he had no interests, but he may as well have. Not caring about what happens during the killing game is a very unique perspective, to say the least!
The idea Aidan really donât give a fuck is further reinforced by the Scrum Debate:
Aidan [CH1, 113]: Like any of you want to stay. Anyone could have a motive here. Thatâs just how the killing game goes.
Any of you, not any of us. See the difference? Aidan probably wouldnât mind escaping, but he doesnât seem to mind staying, either.
Obviously this raises a lot of questions as to how Aidan came about this mindset in the first place, and whether or not heâll grow out of it during the killing game, but right now we lack the tools to figure those things out. What we can discuss is the way this parallels other charactersâ perspectives, though.
Be it Grace and Jeffâs desire to escape as fast as possible because everything that interests them is on the outside, or people like Harper and Noahâs desire to get out to return to their prior commitments, or Kennedyâs wholehearted investment in every mystery of the killing game (and yes Aidan and Kennedyâs beef runs really deep), or Ellisâ self-proclaimed (and probably fake) disinterest in the others as anything other than eye candy, or Antonia and Cassâ interest in keeping their secrets throughout the killing game⌠Turns out everyone has a different perspective in how they feel about the killing game, so a character who doesn't care at all (at least, thatâs what they claim) stands out pretty significantly, in a way that helps bring out the othersâ different interests and the things theyâre focused on.Â
Basically I really like Aidan and I canât wait to see how their mindset is explored/developed :D
-Mastermind ranking: 8/16. Aidanâs general disinterest in absolutely everything could be spun into some strange kind of mm whoâs just going through the motions, I guess, but it doesnât strike me as particularly likely. Realistically should be higher, especially given his dual colored hoodie split down the middle as the black and white of the Mono color scheme, but in a sense he strikes me as too confrontational, too early. Sure, heâs not as confrontational as someone like Byakuya, but he still ends up coming off as slightly antagonistic at times just by virtue of always going against the current as the Ultimate Contrarian, and as accirax eloquently put it in her own mm predictions for other fangans (Edenâs Garden & DRDT):
âŚwow, the mildly antagonistic character was actually a really antagonistic character all along! It just doesnât seem like enough of a dramatic hook to me, I guess?
Again, Aidan isnât the most antagonistic character ever, but I still think the phrase applies. Not to say that it couldnât work at all, just that itâd be harder to pull Aidan!MM as opposed to the other options higher than him.Â
âMark" Nolastnamegiven
-Original talent guess: ??? -Real talent: ??? -Talent guess notes: Yeah this one was easy. -Likes: Soft fabric. Dislikes: Physical confrontation.
Taylor [CH1, 137]: Are either of you worried about the fact that that leaves you as the only two suspects? Like, at allâŚ? Antonia: Hm? Not particularly. Mark: Obviously Iâll have to prove my innocence, but from my perspective, itâs nice to know who the killer is.
Members of the jury, these two are awesome.Â
If thereâs any character who truly stole the spotlight during the majority of the Deadly Life section, beyond those actually involved in the murder (and Ellis), then that character is Mark. While they didnât really do anything in Daily Life beyond repeat a few times that they donât remember shit from before the killing game, their notable âlocking inâ during the investigation and subsequent trial is quite an interesting development for them. Evidently, whatever their talent was, it seems it gives them some form of edge when it comes to investigating. That obviously brings Kyoko to memory, though Mark doesnât seem to be quite her level of Detective, which is cool. I like that the few brain cells we have are a bit more spread out in this cast.
We also got a couple of really cool character moments from Markâs âpartial awakeningâ; Iâm particularly obsessed with the calm with which they handled the Third Party Analysis, as already quoted, and the reintroduction with Ellis at the end of the chapter.
Ellis [CH1, 154]: Yeah. You seem much more aware than when we first met. Or when we second met. You need a third meeting? I extend my hand. Ellis: Hello there, beautiful stranger. It is I, Ellis Ortizâ Ultimate Lucky Student, any pronouns. They laugh and scratch their cheek gently, a bit embarrassed. Mark: Iâm Mark. Still donât know my real name, talent, or previously preferred pronouns, but⌠glad to be here with you.
Really brings forth themes of renewal and the like. I really wonder if the fact that Mark is essentially getting a second chance to discover their abilities, after doing it once and forgetting through the killing game amnesia, will somehow play into the idea of âOne Shotâ as âone opportunity.â Weâll have to see ig.
Finally, because obviously I canât talk about Mark without bringing this up, what is their talent, anyways? Itâs most likely somewhat connected to their detective skills, but you might think thereâs no way to narrow it down further than that. However, there may be a few hints we can use, alongside with the principle⌠of âThe Funniest Possible Answer,â which states that a theory can be compelling just by being funny, if nothing else.
Take a look at this post, specifically the Mark answer.
Question: If DROS characters had the talents of the cast of Project: Eden's Garden, which one would each character have? Mark: Ultimate Pro Gamer.
Now, thereâs nothing inherently interesting about this. Matching talents across fangans is always gonna be difficult, and not all of them are gonna fit very well (see: Fencer Vivi or Ship Captain Kennedy). However, thereâs another post which makes me a bit more curious about this particular answer:
Question: What's your favorite animal and why? Mark: âI donât remember, sorryâŚâ [If allowed to, Mark would pick a PokĂŠmon, and therefore Bulbasaur. If asked for a real animal, the answer would be a penguin.]
A Bulbasaur, of all things. Everyone else picked real animals as a first choice, but not Mark. Mark picked a video game creature. Combined with the previous answer, it almost makes it seem like Mark had a very profound interest in video games before losing their memories. Perhaps⌠enough interest to be an Ultimate of the video game variety?
To be clear, I doubt theyâre straight up the Ultimate Gamer, because based on their behavior during the trial, thereâs still presumably some form of connection with mysteries. Which gets me to a secondary point, which is: are Markâs clothes really what they were wearing before the start of the killing game? No one has commented on having had their clothes changed, so I presume theyâre wearing the last thing they remember wearing. But Mark has no way of knowing. I bring this up because Mark has an accessory with a question mark in their design, which makes sense with them being the Ultimate ???, but not outside the killing game. Unless, of course, their actual talent already had a connection with mysteries.Â
Hence, we reach my current guess for Markâs talent: Ultimate Mystery Video Game Player. Or something like that. Could also be something like âVideo Game Puzzlemasterâ or something, especially because I wouldnât exactly classify Pokemon as a mystery game, but getting the exact wording right on these things is always almost impossible, so.Â
Although, while weâre here, I may as well bring up the possibility that Mark may have a role similar to the Ultimate Survivor from V3, and theyâre the sole survivor of the killing game directly preceding DROS. I bring this up because of Rule #7 from the E-Handbook:
Rule #7: The blackened may only kill a maximum of two people during any single killing game.Â
This ruleâs wording about âany single killing gameâ accounts for the possibility of someone having competed in a previous killing game, implying we could be looking at such a situation. Of course, we have no indication of who that would be (everyone has missing memories, not just Mark, after all), but Iâm bringing it up with Mark because thereâs canon DR precedent for this happening with the Ultimate ??? in Rantaro. Doubt itâs the case, since Iâm not sure venus would want to repeat such a plot twist, but you know.
-Mastermind ranking: 9/16. Mark marks (heh) the start of the more plausible guesses in the list, as thereâs less things going directly against the idea that they could be the mm. The spots directly below Mark, such as Harper and Noah, may have one or two lines that would read weird if theyâre the mm, but I still find them more plausible than Mark simply because Mark being the mm feels⌠odd, yâknow?
Thereâs many ways the mm could disguise themselves that draw way less suspicion than calling themselves the Ultimate ??? and pretending not to remember anything before the killing game. That also includes the possibility that theyâre the mm but still genuinely erased their memories, because that plan would be kinda insane without something like Divine Luck from that fangan that I don't want to name so as not to spoil anyone. Neither idea is impossible, hence why Mark is still higher than many of the others, but it requires a few more explanations than those who rank even higher.Â
Vanessa Bravo
-Original talent guess: Singer. -Actual talent: Announcer. -Talent prediction notes: I tried :p -Likes: Crowded areas. Dislikes: Minimalistic designs. -Notes: Who likes crowded areas???
As the reason that the talent show even happened at all, Vanessa is to be thanked for giving us some of the sillier moments before shit hit the fan. Quite a lovely person overall, though we know little of her life outside the killing game for now. We do know she has a sister, though!
Question: What object would you bring from the outside into the killing game? Vanessa: âI want my sisterâŚâ
Speaking of sisters, Vanessa got hit with one of the most severe cases of Danganronpa Syndrome (where characters get attached to each other extremely quickly to make the death of one of them more impactful to the storyline) Iâve ever seen. Less than a week in, sheâd already adopted Antonia as her surrogate big sister. This is consistent with Nessâ constant push to make the killing game as comfortable as possible, setting up the talent show for example.
Vanessa [CH1, 8]: âŚAw, are you guys seriously on the whole escape thing again already?! Grace: What else would we be doing? Vanessa: I dunno, having fun? This place is pretty cool, if you actually take a look around! Why do you wanna leave so fast?
And if Nessâ goal is to make the killing game as comfortable as possible for herself and others, and Antonia and her remind each other of their respective sisters, well, itâs as Antonia says:
Antonia [CH1, 43]: Itâs only natural to take comfort in the things that remind you of home, isnât it?
I do wonder how this attitude of trying to find comfort and fun inside the killing game will develop now that things have gone horribly, horribly wrong. Certainly something to look out for.
Another character trait I enjoy is Nessâ very proactive personality. Sheâs the one who gave Mark their temporary name, sheâs the one who proposed the talent show, that kinda thing. I particularly want to highlight this scene, though:Â
Vanessa [CH1, 141]: Why do you keep disagreeing with her?! Doesnât Mark being the killer make way more sense here? Who knows what theyâre thinking at any given time? Toni is⌠sheâs her! Someone we can trust⌠Aidan: It doesnât help anyone to blindly defend someone because you like them. This is where our logicâs taking us. If you want to defend her with actual logic, be my guest, but if youâre just yelling, all youâre gonna do is turn people against her. Vanessa: Why would that turn people against herâŚ? Aidan: Because youâre not backing it up. If belief is the only thing youâve got, then it makes it seem like belief is the only thing there is. Vanessa: Well, youâre wrong! Antonia: Vanessa, if youâll allow me to handle thisâ Vanessa: No one should be accusing you like this! Iâll⌠convince them theyâre wrong! Yeah, thatâs it! Antonia: Vanessaâ Vanessa: Donât worry, Iâve got you!
Letâs quickly appreciate Aidanâs cold ass âif belief is the only thing youâve got, then it makes it seem like belief is the only thing there isâ line.
Wow⌠:O /gen
Alright itâs been appreciated. Now we can focus on Vanessa again. Beyond her vehement trust in Antonia, the main thing I wanted to point out is how Ness continued to defend Antonia even after Toni repeatedly told her to back down. After all, Nessâ Freestyle Feud starts directly after this. I really like this piece of characterization because Iâm a sucker for this type of âwhite knight/savior complexâ character. I just like it thatâs all :>
Overall, Vanessa beats the CH1 victim allegations with flying colors, and I canât wait to see where her character goes from here!
-Mastermind ranking: 13/16. Apart from how genuinely upset at Antoniaâs death she is, Vanessaâs distaste for the way Monoquin presents everything would suggest that she is not the one responsible for creating the guy.Â
Vanessa [Prologue, 18]: âŚthe way [Monoquin] reveals information is so boring. I could do a way better job. Like, âoh, by the way, youâre Ultimates, like Hopeâs Peak.â Whereâs the drama? Whereâs the delivery?
I didnât mention it in the analysis, but I do enjoy how passionate Ness is over this. I canât possibly think sheâs the mm if she hates Monoquinâs announcing this much!
Jeff Breeze
-Original talent guess: (Resort/Hotel) Manager/Tour Guide/Vacationer -Actual talent: Absentee -Talent prediction notes: Vacationerâs kinda close, right? What's with the umbrella, anyways? Unguessable xD -Likes: Blue hawaiians. Dislikes: Conflict.
My guy has exactly one goal at any time, and that is to get the hell outta dodge. We hear in their FTE that they occasionally get a certain feeling that things are gonna turn out bad, and they always leave the moment they get said feeling. Other than that, and the fact he was forced to play football (er, soccer) briefly when he was younger, and that they got dragged to an amusement park at some point, we donât know too much about Jeff. Which means thereâs room for speculation!
My current guess of what theme Jeffâs character will play into is the whole idea that âyou miss all the shots you donât takeâ or something. You know, the thing the fangan seems to be named after, and Ellis mentions early into the Prologue. Because Jeff always ditches before the going gets tough, they usually donât âtake any shotsâ, which is something which could be explored in the future. Even if it isnât, Jeffâs avoidant behavior could be contrasted (and already is paralleling) with things like Vanessaâs more proactive attitude to the killing game, or Robert and Taylorâs desire to fit in instead of distancing themselves from others, you get the idea.Â
Finally, and the reason Jeffâs so high up in the ârelevance listâ, his involvement in the trial. Jeff just so happens to be outside when the murderâs going down, which makes sense with their âbad vibes radarâ thing. When shitâs about to go down, their spider sense tingles and they get restless, so they go out to burn off their energy, and find themselves being important in the trial. I wonder if him getting dragged into situations they really donât want to be in is going to be a recurring thing. Weâll see!
-Mastermind ranking: 14/16. I said Jeff has exactly one goal, and I meant it. He wants to leave. This conflicts with the mmâs desire to⌠not. Do that. So. Unless theyâre lying about literally everything, this one doesnât look very likely.Â
Ellis Ortiz
-Original talent guess: Lucky Student -Actual talent: Lucky Student -Talent guess notes: ;) -Likes: Designer brands. Dislikes: Closing hours.
And we finally reach our protagonist! And what a protagonist he is. Not only are their flirtatious antics pretty funny, her attitude towards the killing game is quite the unique one.
As is common with Lucky Students, a lot of it comes from her luck. From what we understand, that luck is generally strictly positive and Ellis mainly applies it to money-making, though he seems to have a sort of conflicted opinion on it. On the one hand, Ellis trusts her luck enough to somewhat firmly believe in their title, as expressed in all the inner monologues where Ellis assures themselves they will survive the killing game no matter what. On the other, Ellis doesnât like to attribute all her achievements to luck alone, disliking that her title doesnât acknowledge the actual skill she believes to have in things such as stock trading and gambling. Of course, right now the audience has no idea how much of that perceived skill actually exists and how much of it is just Ellis trying to convince himself he deserves his winnings for reasons other than pure chance. Something to see in the future.
This conflict about her luck carries into Ellisâ general killing game strategy. Or at least, the strategy sheâs trying to implement. He first swears to himself that he wonât get attached to the other characters and will treat them only as eye candy, which immediately fails as we see him crying after the class trial. Not to mention, theyâre seemingly getting attached to Mark, at least, given their little triple introduction thing. And they're even considering switching strategy to defeating the mastermind after the first trial, as they've noticed that, if it comes down to them or the mm, they may be cooked.
In general, Ellis is pretty bad when it comes to fulfilling promises she makes to herself. There are, for example, many times in the chapter where Ellis promises not to think about things such as the mastermind, followed just a scene or two later by an internal monologue about the mastermind paranoid enough to rival Kennedyâs craziest theories. The persona of confidence and nonchalance that Ellis projects is so far removed from her inner doubts and insecurities, that she keeps switching between paranoid overthinking and complete laidback-ness with enough speed to cause whiplash.
This all comes from Ellisâ complete inability to be honest to himself about his feelings, naturally. Becoming more honest with said feelings is likely going to be a large part of Ellisâ character arc, which could parallel/contrast nicely with people like Taylor (who feels they have to act as someone else to express themselves), or Paris (who doesnât speak too much about herself and prefers gossiping about others). Plus, the general idea of dishonesty, with oneself or others, can be connected to Antoniaâs and Cassâ shared theme of secrets (again, more on that in a moment). However, other parts of his character could play off nicely with a lot of the cast. Ellisâ flirtatious attitude could connect to Davisâ Deal, their bouts of paranoia could play off the Mad Duo, their devil-may-care style of living contrasts Graceâs more reserved lifestyle, their optimism and trying to make the best of the situation is similar to Vanessaâs CH1 attitude and contrary to Jeffâs perspective, you get the idea. Fun character!
I havenât mentioned it too much, but we also have a lot of info on Ellisâ backstory. He has two younger step-siblings who are âalrightâ, got started with his exploits by inheritance from his grandpa, he refers to something called the âEllis Ortiz brandâ at some points so he might be relatively well known (assuming heâs not exaggerating his relevance)*, and probably more Iâm forgetting (or just skipping due to them being minor details) just because we have a lot more time to learn about Ellisâ backstory than other characters. She is the PoV character after all! In any case, itâs fun stuff.
*Yeah so I fell for the old trick of he unreliable narrator lol. She has (or would have) 5.1k Twitter followers, which is less than fucking Vivi. No one knows who Ellis is, the brand thing's exaggeration xD
-Mastermind ranking: 10/16. Although an mm protag isnât out of the question (check tags of that post), Ellis doesnât particularly strike me as one. See, she would need to be an amnesiac mm, the kind that doesnât even know theyâre the mm before the end of the story. And while thereâs never a good way to completely rule that out, I havenât seen any reason to believe thatâs the case either.
Letâs put it like this; if you consider Ellis a potential mm candidate, you also have to consider everyone below her a candidate as well, as anyone could potentially be the type of mm sheâd have to be. The only reason sheâs higher than them, then, is that this particular type of mm works best with protags. The main reason to create an mm like this would be to prevent internal dialogue from spoiling the mm, which is obviously only a problem for Ellis.Â
Necessary amnesia aside, Ellisâ stated goals of âget rich, get bitches, have funâ (simplified) donât really align with the things creating a killing game would accomplish. And while itâs possible Ellis changed in the period of lost memories, we have no evidence of that, so. Yeah, not very likely :v
Cassidy Torres
-Original talent guess: Writer. -Actual talent: Agent. -Talent prediction notes: I mean. I had a pen to work with. I wasnât getting that xD -Likes: Getting info. Dislikes: Stubborn people.
Victim coming through! And what a victim Cass is. You know, itâs always hard to make the audience care about the CH1 victim, given theyâre definitionally the character whoâs alive for the shortest amount of time, but having a major twist about them happen during the trial is a hell of a way to do that! The reveal of Cassâ true talent is the kind of thing that makes you do the character analysis backwards, starting at the end with the reveal and piecing it together (heh) from there.
Grace: Now that you mention it, I believe they quickly pivoted to discussing sales with me as well.
Well, we saw two Cass introductions, so why not confirm?
[Cass] [Prologue, 37]: Lucky Student, huh? Thatâs an all-around useful talent. Still though, itâs weird⌠Why is no one here talented at making things, or having something to sellâŚ? Ellis: Hey, who says Iâm not talented at âmakingâ something? [Cass]: I should clarify, Iâm referring to making something physical. Something that one might, say, need someone to critique and/or help them market to higher ups. They extend their hand to me. [Cass]: Iâm Cassidy Torres, or Cass for short, she/they. And, here, I guess Iâm the Ultimate Agent.
Cass [Prologue Bonus Scenes, 9]: Itâs great to meet you, Grace. My name is Cassidy Torresâ Cass for shortâ and I use she/they. Iâm the Ultimate Agent. After we shake hands, Cass looks at me approvingly. Cass: Itâs about time I met an Ultimate who actually creates something. My talent is pretty useless without anything to market, so I was hoping Iâd be able to help at least one of you with my services. As it turns out, the last person I met was the one who best fit the description.
Yep, pretty much exactly what the others said. Cass was quick to mention sales and creating products so as to now get found out, even though funnily enough Ellis almost got it.Â
Ellis [Prologue, 38]: Agent, huh? So, I shouldnât be surprised when you pull out some spy-like leather suit? Cass: Oh, itâs nothing like that. Though Iâve definitely worn my fair share of suitsâŚ
Cass is quick with it :O
Although I think Cassâ Agent skills shine most when you can see the full extent of their internal monologue.Â
Kennedy [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 10]: Found you! Kennedy has, apparently, tracked me down to the Show Room, which I had assumed no one would really want to spend time in. This doesnât contradict that data point, though; if Kennedy was looking for me specifically, as evidenced by their words, then itâs my presence rather than any qualities of the Show Room itself that led them here. Probably best to play dumb, though.
Bro. Even if Kennedy hadnât said âfound youâ, you couldâve just asked them what they were doing in the Show Room without that analysis. Which you do.
Cass [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 10]: Were you looking for me?
Youâre putting my overthinking to shame, you gotta relax! (Kidding, I really enjoy the overkill analysis there xD).
Cassâ skill is actually very fun to really think about. They had to come up with the cover story of being a salesperson on the spot when they got their talent, which is kinda crazy. And she still managed to come up with stuff like specific phrases and words that would always get a reaction of her cover character! What!
Kennedy [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 12]: Isnât this a good opportunity for you? âOpportunityâ acts like a trigger phrase. Right. I need to be charading as the Ultimate non-secret Agent. I make a show of sighing. Cass: I suppose passing up on a good opportunity is typically a bad thing. But, an opportunity for what?
I have no way of knowing how accurate of a depiction of secret agents this is, but I can say it's a pretty cool description to read about.
This does mean that a lot of Cassâ dialogue ends up being nothing but part of an act, a problem for character analysis. But thereâs still plenty to work with, especially because her talent deeply relates to the main theme connecting her and Antonia: secrets, the things people will do to uncover them, and the extent people are willing to go to keep them.Â
Antonia [CH1, 52]: From what Iâve determined, you may be the one hiding the biggest secret here, Cassidy. Cass: Iâm sorry? Antonia: I know a liar when I see one~ A liar? But, what would Cass have to lie aboutâŚ? UnlessâŚ? Cass: What are you accusing me of, exactly? Antonia: Iâm not sure what. You could be the mastermind, or the possessor of the poison, or any number of things. All I can tell is that youâre guarded. There are things you donât want us to learn. Isnât that right?
Cass [To Antonia, CH1, 52]: âŚFine. If you wonât tell your secrets, I wonât tell mine.
Antonia [CH1, 148]: We werenât dealing with only the mastermind, darling. We were dealing with âsecrets.â
Iâll get to Antoniaâs secrets in her section, but Cass obviously had a pretty big one of their own, not to mention that her entire talent is based around uncovering hidden truths. The secrets these two keep are what ultimately creates the conflict which will end with Cassâ death and Antoniaâs execution. After all, Antoniaâs general suspicion regarding the fact they were keeping a secret at all is really the reason why Cass ended up suspecting Antonia so much. Because while they originally held Antonia in the same regard as Ellis or Mark in terms of mm possibility, they still end up antagonizing Antonia specifically, possibly because they feel threatened by Antoniaâs immaculate liar detector. Now, make no mistake, Cass made up an in-persona reason to be a secret-keeper, so itâs not like Antoniaâs lie detector is immediately damning to them, but itâs still a pretty large threat.Â
Cass [CH1, 52]: âŚI canât reveal everything so easily. My clients have sensitive information, and my trust with them is more important than getting to know any of you. If I feel distant, thatâs all it is. Ellis: Wouldnât you want your clients to have a friendly relationship with you, thoughâŚ? Cass: Of course. But, at least as of now, none of you are my clients, so those who I represent are of greater concern to me.
Of course, though, thereâs also the possibility that Cass just clocked Antonia as a liar the same way Antonia clocked them, even if itâs never explicitly stated, and thatâs the entire reason for their suspicion.
Cass [CH1, 59]: I will figure out your secrets. Antonia: Of course you will, darling.
Actually, the idea that Cass felt threatened in some way by Antoniaâs ability to spot liars could play into something interesting with these twoâs profiles. Cass dislikes âstubborn peopleâ, while Antonia dislikes âbad losers.â You could make the argument that Antonia is stubborn in the sense that sheâs good at standing her ground against Cassâ prodding for secrets, and that Cass may be a bad loser in the sense that she may feel she âlostâ to Antonia when the Dealer noticed she was hiding something, and clearly isnât happy about it.Â
[Cassâ inner monologue] [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 10]: Itâs hard to say Iâm anything but annoyed as I leave the Buffet. Antonia is still playing at the same games as alwaysâŚ
Not sure if this interpretation works perfectly, but close enough, and it's pretty cool. Eternal beef, these two.
In any case, regardless of what exactly led Cass to focus so much on Antonia, the end result is the same. Antonia figures out sheâs being spied on, and chooses to deal with that issue before it could grow into anything bigger. Hence, Cassâ death.Â
Although, hereâs an interesting point related to the murder. Isnât Cass a hypocrite?
Cass [CH1, 35]: Everyone, calm down! The group settles down and turns to Cass. Cass: [Someone asking for poison from the CSD] is obviously a threat, and we should take caution knowing that someone here may be plotting a murder already. However, blatantly throwing around distrust and creating an air of paranoia will only make tensions higher. Mark: Then⌠what should we do? Cass: The same things youâve been doing. All you need to do is keep an eye out for any suspicious activity and engage in safe behavior. Stay in groups or well-lit areas. Donât go out at night. Those sorts of things should keep you safe enough while we figure out the mysteries of this place.
âDonât go out at nightâ, she says, a few days before going out at night and dying. âDonât create an air of paranoiaâ, she says, shortly before beefing with Antonia so obviously that everyone noticed something was going on even before Paris said anything. Not great at following their own advice, evidently.
Although that second point is slightly unfair, actually. Cass doesnât actually accuse Antonia and gang of being the mm at first, itâs Antonia herself who brings the implicit accusation to light. In the same vein, she refuses to say who she suspects in her discussion with Kennedy and Vivi and Ellis about the mm before that.
Kennedy [CH1, 32]: Cass⌠If you can say who you donât think it is, that means there are some people you do suspect. Cass: I have a couple leading theories. Kennedy: Tell me. Cass: Iâm not going to go around voicing all of my thoughts. Besides, itâs⌠not fitting for an agent to talk negatively about people. What if a future client heard of it and was worried about what Iâd do with their secrets?
Antonia [CH1, 51]: I assure you, the real dynamics between different establishments are far more complex⌠Cass: Do you have insight into the dynamics, then? Do you know anyone who might hold a grudge? Antonia: With all due respect, my dear Cassidy, are you trying to determine if one of us is the mastermind?
The point about the night stands, though. And itâs worth noting that Cass likely didnât have ulterior motives in saying that or anything, as she does seem to be genuinely concerned for the othersâ safety.Â
Davis [CH1, 58]: I take it you all were drinking last nightâŚ? Jeff: Yeah? Whatâs the big deal? Cass: That doesnât sound like you were being particularly safe, given our environment.
And it makes sense. When they talk about their goals in their Bonus Scene with Grace, they specifically say that their goal can be âapproximatedâ to figuring out the secrets of the Resort and getting out with everyone.
Grace [Prologue Bonus Scenes, 10]: What are your long-term goals, if I might ask? They smile. Cass: Iâm not gonna go around talking about that kind of thing immediately, especially not with cameras everywhere. Iâve got big plans once Iâm back out in the real world. But, foundations are laid here. She looks around the room, though nothing in particular seems to catch her interest. Cass: If youâre looking for whatâs motivating me, for now, you can approximate it to figuring out whatâs going on at this Resort and getting everyone out of this situation safely.
More on those goals in a moment, but for now, what matters is that Cass is genuinely invested in the safety of the others and wants to escape with everyone, so her warnings about not going out at night are genuine. That means the only reason they would go against their advice is if they considered themselves capable of avoiding issues, probably because of their talent.
Huh. Overly relying on her talent to keep her safe while she carries out a plan no one else knows anything about? Thatâd be like a Lucky Student relying on their luck to survive through the killing game, with a plan of outlasting everyone else that they donât discuss with anyone. Wink.
Anyways, I left this question pending, so letâs get back to it. What the hell are Cassâ long term goals? All we really know is that sheâs motivated to figure out the Resortâs secrets and get everyone out of there, but supposedly these are just the âfoundationsâ of her goals. They also say that talking to Grace is related to the goal, but as they say, thatâs mostly just because gathering info on those around them is helpful in their eyes.
Cass [Prologue Bonus Scenes, 10]: Iâd call [talking to you about marketing] related to my goals, personally. Grace: Your goal of gaining clients? Like I said, that isnâtâ Cass: No, in general. Isnât it helpful to know people better, if youâre trying to work with them? I pause. Grace: I suppose thatâs a fair perspective. Cass: Believe me, I understand. I donât waste time talking to just anyone if I donât believe itâll help me achieve my long-term goals. But if I decide itâs worth it, Iâm not easily swayed. Right now, Iâve decided I want to talk to you, and thatâs the best use of my time.
Now, I canât for the life of me reach anything resembling a solid answer, for obvious reasons. Itâs entirely possible, for one, that these goals arenât important and will never actually be brought up in the main story, seeing as theyâre only really mentioned in a Bonus Scene. In that case, we may never have enough info to come to any definitive conclusion about it.Â
However, itâs possible that Cassâ name will come up again, because her goals could very well have to do with the very foundations of the killing game and the situation in the outside world. For example, itâs possible that they were investigating the resort itself or some kind of aspect of the Tragedy, and they got close enough that the mm decided to wipe their memories of the bigger secrets and just stick them in a killing game. Depending on how much she remembers, she could very well have had some inkling about whatâs really going on, enough to know that there were bigger plans outside that she was a part of, possibly focused on taking down groups doing Tragedy stuff.
Or Iâm going completely fucking insane, which I think is the more likely option in this case. Regardless, I donât really have any more concrete ideas on what the hell she was up to at the moment, so Iâll leave it at that. Dear god what a character.
-Mastermind ranking: 16/16. I mean. Theyâre dead. And deny theyâre the mm in inner monologue. It doesnât really get less mastermind-y than that.
Kennedy [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 12]: Then, based on my deductions, you would be the most likely mastermind candidate. Cass: Whâ?! What kind of a strategy is that?! Besides, itâs obviously wrongâŚ!
Antonia Cisneros
-Original talent guess: Gambler/Poker Player -Actual talent: Dealer -Talent prediction notes: Wrong side of the table :v -Likes: Nightlife. Dislikes: Bad losers.
Guess who got unreasonably attached to the CH1 killer, again? This guy!Â
Antoniaâs fun, both because of how entertaining I find (er, found) her personality, and how many mindgames my girl actually plays. The insane standoff from her Bonus Scene with Paris in the Prologue, her constant beefing with Cass, the entire trial⌠that kinda thing. In fact, thereâs so many mindgames and potential lies going around, we might have to take this chronologically!
The first big thing we learn about Antonia in CH1 is the existence of her little sister (also mentioned in the Paris Bonus Scene), and how this helps her form a quick bond with Vanessa.Â
Antonia [CH1, 42]: Itâs very charming, how excited Vanessa gets. It reminds me of my younger sister. She was always a ball of energy. Mark: You mentioned her at the talent show, too⌠Vanessa: Toniâs really sweet and caring when it comes to her sister, from what Iâve heard. And she sorta acts like a big sister to me, too!
However, this starts an interesting trend in how Antonia actually talks about Vanessa and her connection to Antoniaâs sister. Take a look at the two other instances where this comes up:
Antonia [CH1, 138]: For instance, Vanessa reminds me of my younger sister. I would be unable to willingly sign her death warrant, even indirectly through the Class Trial.
Noah [CH1, 148]: All that stuff about [Vanessa] being like your sister⌠Were you lying about that, too? Antonia: Hm? Oh, no. She does, in fact, remind me of my sister. But that isnât enough to stop me from acting in my own best interests.
Antonia never directly claims to care for Vanessa as she would a sister, all she ever says is that Vanessa reminds her of her actual sister. Antonia just says they share similarities, and doesnât ever concretely express how that makes her feel. The only time she actually compliments Vanessa directly, she also compliments Ellis at the same time, someone who she doesnât have the same kind of bond with.
Mark [CH1, 44]: Are we⌠actually doing thisâŚ? Antonia: Well, if it makes these two wonderful people happy, then I donât see what the harm could be.
Now, I could be wrong about this, but to me it feels like while Antonia enjoyed Vanessaâs presence because of the sister thing, she didnât do so to the extent that she led the others to believe. She simply allowed Vanessaâs enthusiasm to speak for the both of them, giving the impression of a much closer bond than what she genuinely felt, and she tried to take advantage of that flawed perception during the Third Party Analysis. Whether this lie of omission was originally just to make Ness feel better, or if Antonia was always planning to use this as a âcard up her sleeveâ (heh) to argue her innocence in a class trial, I genuinely canât tell because everyone in this fangan (and especially Antonia herself) is a massive tryhard when it comes to killing game tactics.Â
Then again, I could always be overthinking it.
Antonia [CH1, 43]: No worries, Mark. Itâs only natural. Mark: Why do you say it like thatâŚ? Antonia: Oh, Iâve just never been fond of using nicknames. But, in your case, I suppose it canât be helped.
Antonia doesnât like using nicknames, which is⌠interesting. Wonder if weâll ever find out why thatâs a thing, if there even is a reason beyond personal preference.
Antonia [CH1, 44]: A party is⌠something we could consider, though I do wonder where we would hold it. Vanessa: I mean, for open space and lighting, the Casino, right? Antonia: âŚI would rather not.
This never got explicitly explained, right? Why Antonia didnât want a party at the casino? Itâs not like she was planning to murder Cass specifically already, since Cass hadnât started accusing her yet. And Cass only died in the casino because Antonia could lure her there since Cass was following her around. This might be a question to ask her once we get access to ouija boards after the fanganâs over. Or maybe not, who knows.
Antonia [CH1, 46]: Arenât we a little too fixated on what isnât here? If we all share each otherâs company, we should be enjoying ourselves. Thereâs no point in doing anything otherwise.
This is wild coming from the woman who ordered poison from the CSD the morning of the day this got said. Incidentally, youâll notice this is pretty close to Vanessaâs perspective on the killing game, although Antoniaâs actually referring to Jeffâs absence from that meal and not the outside world. Neat!
Ellis [CH1, 51]: Maybe itâs, like, a rival casino owner trying to incite a scandal. That sounds like something that could happen in a cartoon. Antonia: I assure you, the real dynamics between different establishments are far more complex⌠Cass: Do you have insight into the dynamics, then? Do you know anyone who might hold a grudge? Antonia: With all due respect, my dear Cassidy, are you trying to determine if one of us is the mastermind?
Finally, we get to the Cass beef! And even from the start, we can start gathering just how important the theme of secrets is for these two, as I already mentioned in the Cass section. By very obviously deflecting the question about casino dynamics before Cass could press further, Antonia tries to keep her secrets by stopping the line of questioning about her life outside the killing game dead on its tracks.
Cass: âŚI canât reveal everything so easily. My clients have sensitive information, and my trust with them is more important than getting to know any of you. If I feel distant, thatâs all it is.
But this is all stuff we covered with Cass. The question we left pending was what exactly Antoniaâs secrets are, since we can be relatively sure she isnât the mm now that she's dead.
Antonia [CH1, 148]: We werenât dealing with only the mastermind, darling. We were dealing with âsecrets.â And, while I may not want to say them here, I have things in my past Iâd rather not share, especially if I were to attempt a murder. Mark: Like how you knew how to cut and sew the bodyâŚ? Antonia: Something like that.
For this query, we can focus on the fact that, by saying sheâd like to keep her secrets âespecially if she were to attempt a murder,â Antonia implies the reveal of her secrets would inconvenience her during a class trial. Not to mention her response to Markâs question, about the possible connection between her secrets and her dismemberment skills. And if thatâs the case, then...
Mark [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 18]: Iâve given my theories. Weâre about to explore the possibilities in the Class Trial. I thought your insight could be helpful. Antonia: But of course. Antonia twirls her hair around her finger with an absentminded look in her eyes. Antonia: Well, I do believe our killer wouldnât be a first-time murderer.
Uh.
Antonia [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 18]: Does it really surprise you? The speed at which they killed, the brutality of the method, the skills dismembering the body must take⌠None of those are things you can simply dream up overnight. Mark: Probably true.
Ehem.
Mark [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 19]: But, based on what you were saying⌠I doubt this is only their second kill, either. This is someone who knows what theyâre doing. Antonia: Is there much of a difference between a second murder and a hundredth? Youâre already a murderer either way.
Hey guys Antonia might just be a serial killer.Â
I mean, isnât that what this looks like? Sheâs saying she believes the blackened had killed before the killing game, and Mark says that they probably killed multiple times, and Antonia is the blackened. Certainly sounds like sheâs letting the truth slip as a hypothetical. Now, she does give an alternate explanation of why she says the things she does in the Bonus Scene:Â
Antonia [CH1 Bonus Scenes, 20]: Weâre simply speculating as to the killerâs mindset, arenât we? To better understand how someone willing to take a lifeâ no, multiple livesâ might think of the world. Disregard my opinion if youâd like, but Iâve listened to many people talk, criminal and otherwise.
However, that doesnât account for Mark saying that the killerâs skill could indicate they were, in fact, a serial killer. And besides, the best liars know when to tell the truth, because doing so removes the possibility of you losing credibility if youâre caught through tells or other means.
This is actually a pretty convenient narrative for Antonia to spin. See, if the brutality of the murder is because the blackened was already a serial killer, then it canât be used to argue against anyone in particular, as any of the participants could realistically be the hidden serial killer. However, if you discount that possibility, then one could argue the brutality is born from a grudge the killer had against Cass. And while Antonia wasnât the only person Cass suspected of being the mm, she sure was Cassâ number 1 rival. Thus, such an argument could land Antonia in a dangerous position. And without precedent of how this cast would act in the trial, Antonia would have no reason to believe sheâd be able to defend against it in a way that would convince the others, at least not without throwing in the âserial killerâ angle anyways.
I⌠hope that made sense.Â
The point is, this is a convenient thing for Antonia to say regardless of whether or not itâs true. And of course, if this really is her secret, this would be something that she really wouldnât want to be revealed if she wanted to ever win a class trial, and it is in fact connected with her dismemberment skills, the two aspects of the secret we discussed before.
Seeing as Antonia could very well be telling the truth in the Bonus Scene, the previously mentioned line about her secret being inconvenient for trials and related to the dismemberment thing, and the arguments brought up in said Bonus Scene about the blackenedâs skill and chosen method implying a serial killer, Iâd say thereâs a compelling argument to say that Antonia is, in fact, a serial killer. Which we could probably also infer from the fact that, since the killer asked for the boxes the same day they asked for the poison, Antonia really was ready to dismember someone from Day 3.Â
Am I 100% confident in saying that? No, obviously. But it is what I find most likely at this point.Â
Another question to ask would be what reason Antonia would have to murder someone before the killing game. And, since we already established that I donât think her thoughts in the CH1 Bonus Scene are as hypothetical as she leads Mark to believe, we can try to infer something based on that, too.Â
Antonia [CH1, 19]: Well, with all of our other pursuits, do you really believe someone would kill just for the thrill of it? If weâve all achieved great things, it stands to reason that whoever committed such a crime in the past would be doing so for a dedicated goal. Thus, killing would become a sacrifice to further that goal.
Assuming sheâs not making this up on the spot, this could imply that her serial killing has to do with her talent⌠whatever that looks like. Itâs worth noting that this âhypotheticalâ mindset actually does match at least one of Antoniaâs own lines post trial, considering murdering people as a means to an end and a âsmall price to payâ:
Robert [CH1, 149]: Youâre still talking about killing someone. You still made that decision⌠Antonia: If thatâs all I have to do to end my imprisonment and guarantee my safety, itâs a rather small price to pay, isnât it? Vanessa: B-but⌠what are we supposed to do nowâŚ? Antonia: Itâs of no concern to me. Continue playing along with your fake peace, or turn on each other. All I know is that, eventually, someone wonât be able to take it anymore, and that person will remember that all they have to do to end it all is kill. Itâs not such a large price, when you put it that way.
Obviously I donât have any way to speculate further without just throwing random shit at the wall (eliminating Dealer competition maybe?), so Iâll leave my official theory at just that. Antonia killed to become the Ultimate Dealer, and has evidently done it quite a bit!Â
Alright, so what do we do with this? Well, itâs hard to tell when I canât even be sure this will ever be brought up in the main section of the fangan anyways. But I imagine the ideas of ambition (relating her murders to her talent) and the lengths people will go to keep secrets might come back up later, and itâll be fun contrasting other peopleâs actions to Antoniaâs with that in mind. Considering some of the other themes weâve discussed, you could even tie Antoniaâs desensitization to murder into the ideas of normality discussed before, where the concept of ânormalâ is very subjective. After all, Antonia seems to consider what she did to Cass relatively normal for her, right?
And of course, this desensitization to murder somewhat parallels Ellisâ plan of âlet everyone die and dipâ, since itâs effectively the same plan Antonia had, just without directly murdering anyone. A parallel which is furthered by Antoniaâs belief in the âhouseâ:
Antonia [CH1, 148]: Because I didnât want to play with fire. The establishment wants one winner, and the house always wins in the end. One of these days, one person will win. If fifteen will die, I liked my odds of being the last one standing better when I put myself directly in the position to win, rather than waiting around for others to make mistakes.
The same way that Ellis fully believes in his ability to win the killing game by coasting off his luck, Antonia is entirely confident that the house will get its way in the end. Itâs only natural for the Dealer to align herself with the house by playing the game in earnest, while the gambler tries to luck out and get one over on the house by surviving without murdering. But in the end, both of them see it entirely as a game to be won, and not so much a hardship to be overcome. How such a wonderful parallel happened when the characters are written by two different people, I will never know, but itâs genuinely super impressive.
Anyways, letâs cover a few lines here and there that are cool but I couldnât fit into the main analysis.Â
Antonia [CH1, 68]: âŚApologies for disturbing all your thoughts, but⌠has anyone seen Cassidy this morning?
I think itâs cool that Antonia is actually the one that first brings up Cassâ absence. She needs to make sure everyoneâs looking at the boxes when they open for the BDA disguising trick, after all!
In the interest of getting this post out sometime in 2025, Iâm going to skip over a couple of cool moments during the trial itself, but just know that I think Antonia was pretty decent throughout, and you already know how cool I found her calm demeanor directly preceding the Third Party Analysis and her counterarguments after. Though for more specific lines:
Antonia [CH1, 106]: There actually isnât any way to delete a message from an e-Handbook once sent, on either end. I expect this, in combination with the rule against stealing e-Handbooks, is intended to add extra challenge for the killer.
Do we think Antonia tried deleting the messages between Cass and Jeff when she had Cassâ E-Handbook? I wonder what exactly her plan would have been with that. Maybe framing Jeff by pointing out the messagesâ deletion as weird? Shame it didnât work.Â
Antonia [CH1, 146]: I suppose you all think this is the answer? That Iâve created an elaborate plan to make myself an undercover killer, and that Cassidy is some eternal force of good?
I really wonder what the âeternal force of goodâ comment is about, but I have genuinely zero idea what it could refer to :p To me it implies Antonia didnât think of Cass that way, but I could be overthinking it.
Antonia [CH1, 148]: I suppose⌠I am slightly sorry, for roping you into all of this.
For all the serial killer talk, I do want it on record that Antonia is not entirely heartless. She did feel sorry, to some extent, for her actions, and itâs pretty clear she cared about her sister outside of the killing game. Thatâs cool :)
Though itâs worth noting she doesnât apologize to Cass so much as she apologizes to the others for âroping them inâ. I guess itâs an extension of the philosophy that Cass canât care about anything now that sheâs a corpse, so apologies to them are unnecessary.Â
-Mastermind ranking: 15/16. Iâll let her do the honors of explaining why sheâs this low:
Kennedy [CH1, 147]: Was Cass right? Are you the mastermind?! Antonia pauses for a moment, then bursts into a fit of laughter. Antonia: Of course not! If I were, why would I be playing by the rules of this silly game?
-
Final MM Rankings: Cass - Antonia - Jeff - Vanessa - Kennedy - Vivi - Ellis - Mark - Aidan - Harper - Noah - Robert - Taylor - Davis - Grace - Paris
Holy hell how did I avoid problems with color coding here of all places?

Woo! Alright, that took longer than I expected, but 16k words later, we got our analysis! My excitement for this fangan grows with every part release, and really digging into the characters for this post has made me appreciate them all the more! Anyways, thanks for reading! If you made it this far, youâve earned a royal flush! Ask Antonia for whatever money you just made- oh, wait. Uh. You can't... really do that. Anyways, see yaâ!
