Day 14: Inspiration

Talking about my inspiration makes my brain feel bad, but I got the balls for this one. Tokyo Ghoul ended up accidentally being a big source of inspiration for Primrose Path's story and a handful of the characters in it, so consider this an AU doodle!

They’re pirates so the bounties kind of comes with the job, but they’ve also done insane stuff like breaking into and out of the biggest high security prison in the lands (while also sealing a navy officer in the prison) and recently kidnapped the king (for good reason, they were originally hired to kill him, but they found out the original king was already dead and his eight year old son was the current king. They didn’t want the kid to be victim to another assassination attempt so they brought him somewhere safe)

Children's Playtime

The party has picked up several companions along the way including 1 dragon child (Tarsson) and 1 human child (Xue) and I thought it'd be fun to draw them bonding over a teddybear's tea party. I can't lie I used no references when drawing Tarsson and it really shows 😬 I'll probably draw him again at some point and will try not be lazy and actually look at references so that he looks more like a dragon lolol

Hello hello! Minthy and Kalius become the Absolute, then they *call drops* on that illithid throne after Kalius proposes (they're practically engaged 7th time prior with all the rings on Minthara's fingers). After that they begin their conquest of Menzoberranzan and get Kalius' cambion wings back from Mizora (Kalius made a deal with Mizora a long time ago: trading her cambion powers and wings so the person she loved the most no longer had to suffer from terminal illness' pain).

Then things happen and Kalius reincarnates into Lily, The Dark Urge.

It’s still funny to me how absolutely little thought I put into romancing Lae’zel yet it made the most sense for the character. Especially because in used to basically ditching my first romance choice in rpgs. Like I never end up liking them or sticking with them

But also because the Tav I’m playing is based on a dnd character idea I never used that was basically an astronomer who worked out of an observatory and accidentally made contact with an eldritch cosmic horror creature from the stars and became a warlock and went slightly crazy for a second there because of it

And so like I had a preexisting character idea that was heavily space and mind powers themed and I was like “I’m gonna date the psionic alien lady 🥰” with absolutely no thoughts in my head about that choice connecting in any way other than “frog lady looks mean and hot”
