I think my issue with the various interpretations of Mori's evilness is that there's this idea that Mori went out of his way to purposefully and deliberately target both of Dazai's friends in Dark Era to teach Dazai a lesson, and not that Dark Era is a tragedy where the cards aligned a bit too well for Mori to resist the "logical" solution served to him on a silver platter and everyone (including him) lost something that day (not that he'll acknowledge it)

#it's still his fault #but his fault is to have seen all the convenient pieces on the board instead of working with/around people's relationships #mori: ''oh hell yeah it's all coming together'' / dazai: ''i will never forgive you'' / mori: (pikachu face)#mori's line of thought was probably like #my new informant is a spy -> i need the permit -> i need leverage -> use the spy to artificially accelerate a threat for leverage ->#special division paying attention -> find a reliable way to stop the threat -> convenient low-ranking passively useful guy with ability! ->#oh those are both of dazai's friends -> oh well dazai will understand sacrifices must be made he'll see how perfect this is ->#plan succeeds with flying colors -> dazai does not understand -> dazai does not understand?#anyway #apparently i talk sometimes #bsd mori
