Goodbye Twenty Twenty-Three

It is now less than four hours before midnight. 2023 feels so short to me. So many things happened throughout the year, and it's kinda overwhelming for me to recap everything in this post. My brain kinda sucks in remembering things too, I forgot what happened not even in Jan but Nov? Let me go through my Gcal hoping to find some clue on what happened throughout this year. Ok, I can't get any clue. LOL.

I'll just write down what happened based on my photo gallery, though I don't take many pictures this year. New goals - take a lot of pictures in 2024! and videos, too!

Here goes:

January 2023

Started my year reading Purification of the Heart by Hamza Yusuf (I must say 2023 was the year I read a lot, hope to bring this habit into 2024)

Went to Pokok KL - I think for the first time - with my brother & sister

Bought a lot of Oreo Matcha cookies from The Skinny Bakers

Strolled around KL area with my parents & brosis - went to Pasar Seni, Petaling Street, took LRT to SOGO.

February 2023

Signed up for Bondee because it was soooo cute. I think I only used it for one week tho lol

Tried D'Homecooked for the first time & I fall in love immediately <3 Their nasi kandar is sooo good but Taman Melawati is soooo far away

Made my first step to jog around MK area - end up it was the first and the last.

Went to Van Gogh exhibition in Pavilion Bukit Jalil with Eri and her friends. I was sooo fun!

March 2023

Went to The Powderuum color consultation - probably the highlight of my year. I love the sesh so so so much I wish I can relive the session haha it was that fun figuring out my own colors <3 Turned out I'm a bright/warm spring gurl

Went back home to celebrate Abah's birthday

Went to MATTA fair for the first time

Went to Watsons K-Festival at Sentul Depot

Had my first Ramadan in KL, again. Tried going to masjid (alone) for the first two nights of Ramadan but I don't think it's for me. I had the best Ramadan this year, I pray my 2024 Ramadan will be better. Can't wait for it!

April 2023

Not so much happened, but a lot happened - lol dunno how to explain this. I didn't do a lot of worldly things, I solely focused on spiritual things this Ramadan. Alhamdulillah, managed to wake up for tahajjud on most nights and Alhamdulillah managed to improve my tajweed too.

Celebrated Raya in Pasir Mas. Little did I know this was my last raya with my grandfather on my mum's side :( and we were there only for one day. But, Alhamdulillah we took a lot of pictures with arwah.

Started June by going to Shaikha Haifa Younis' talk!

Celebrated Raya with my AAPlus sisters in Bukit Jelutong. I met so many beautiful souls!

Had my birthday brunch at Mukha, and later on had some dessert from Kenny Hills.

Mom and dad came to KL to pick up my sister for her sem break. We went around UM and took some photos.

Drove back with my sister to Perak, at night! Bcs her flight was late.

Sent my sis back to Sarawak from Penang Airport

August 2023

Went to Al-Attas book's launch. Loveeee the event! Loveeee his talks. I wish I were more interested in his works earlier tho.

Had brunch at Ikea with mommy and went to shopping in Kedah for her retirement tudung.

Had a second training session, in Penang, to a large group of people! Couldn't make it to my mom's retirement because they changed the date same to my training date :(

Started looking for a new apartment because my sister was going to live with me.

Went to embroidery workshop for the first time!

Jogged in Taiping for the first time after so long! I miss the times when I lived with my parents.

September 2023

Traveled to Sabah with my whole department. We stayed in Rasa Ria Shang-Ri La! Alhamdulillah saw Sabah's sunset & Aki Nabalu <3

October 2023 (OMG SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED IN OCT)

Move out from AMK to IMK - this new apartment is more expensive but comfier and feels safer to live. Moving out was so tiring, and it's more tiring when your bank account is crying blood. Had to buy everything myself - fridge, washing machine, dinner table, bed, everything. Felt so burnt out from everything - work, life, financial.

Went to Al-Attas' talk for the second time. This time in UM. Previously in PWTC.

Started working with external client and I had to commute at least 2 hrs a day. I hate hate hate hate this arrangement so much. Sometimes I had to leave the client's office so late I only reach home at almost 10pm :( I truly hate this kind of arrangement.

Downloaded TikTok because I want to watch Emma's cats go on live lol

November 2023

Working on on-site arrangements continues. I hate it so much but I can't afford to quit now because I had so many commitments.

Met Jua before her wedding

My grandfather passed away on 18 November. Went back to Kelantan with my sister.

Started to feel tired of everything.

December 2023

Had company's annual dinner, not fun. The feeling of burning out got intensified. I hated everything.

Mom and dad came to KL. We celebrated my mom's birthday at Chef Wan's. I felt better.

Went to Turkiye with my parents. Alhamdulillah I enjoyed the trip. Saw so many beautiful places in Turkiye. I felt better though my body is no longer as adventurous as I once was lol.

Went to Jua's wedding. Met Syasya after so looong!

Had covid for the first time

Went to Whimsigirl's puzzle session. I fall in love in puzzle again but they are SO expensive!

Went to KLCG before they closed.

Went to Oriental Kopi today.

Now that I look back at my year, there are so many first times that I did this year. Alhamdulillah for the ups, Alhamdulillah for the downs. Alhamdulillah for the healthy days, Alhamdulillah for the sick days. Alhamdulillah for the laughs and smiles, Alhamdulillah for the cries and sadnesses. Alhamdulillah for the love, Alhamdulillah for the heartbreaks. Alhamdulillah for the adventures, Alhamdulillah for the stillnesses. elf putty bronzer- i got shade feeling shady and it’s more of a contour than a bronzer as it is very cool toned. color wise i find it to be the perfect contour for pale skin +it’s a creamier dupe of the fenty matchstix in shade amber imo :)

essence my rose will go on 6 pan eyeshadow- i love the colors inside this so much, they are my everyday kind of colors anyway! the colors are so soft and blendable. the shimmers are beautiful, but i really appreciate the highlighting shade because it isn’t really glittery but has just enough gleam to highlight your brow bone without making it look like you slathered blinding highlight under ur whole brow

bye bye panda eyes mascara by essence- i was honestly expecting more, it is smudge proof like the bottle says, and removes very easily, there is no clumping like at all but my problem was that i felt the formula was a little dry and it didn’t give my lashes the extremity i was hoping for

kimchi chic puff puff pass powder- LOVEEEE. it has rice powder in it and i think that’s what makes the powder so buttery soft feeling and yes it rly feels that way. it gives a rly pretty blurring look and it’s hugeee so you get a good amount of product. they also have different shades. i apply with a triangle powder puff

kimchi chic marshmallow butter lippie- such a cute lipstick! i got shade cafe au lait looking for a dupe of lanas old signature shade blonde ingenu. it isn’t as close as i thought/hoped it would be (still on the look out tho, i’m waiting for more possible dupes to come in my mail) but it is still a really pretty light nude and the formula is really creamy and hydrating. it comes in some really nice colors. i want to try nineteen, nacho, and woot woot. this lipstick is really pretty with a brown liner and just a smidge of color on the lips

elf concealer brush and putty bronzer blush- i honestly really loved the brushes so much! the concealer brush just really blends concealer effortlessly and is great if you hate absorbing product/want a more full coverage look as opposed to using a beauty blender. the bronzer brush was a little smaller than i expected, which was actually really great because it allows me to really snatch my contour and you can control where you want to blend out easier

My Everyday Makeup Routine🤎🥥

In my eyes makeup is a form of art. It’s fun to me and it enhances my features. It completes my whole look for the day. With makeup there’s endless outcomes, it’s personal to you, and it doesn’t matter with what others think about it. Never let someone make you feel bad about the amount you put on, it’s your happiness!! I’ll stop the cheetah chatter and tell you guys my 2021 makeup routine atm, enjoy!!🤎🤎

☾ First step: Eyebrows

ʚĭɞೃ Eyebrows are very important to me. They’re always done, always slayed, bad eyebrows= sad lashanti and it throws off my whole look. Having good eyebrows ties in the whole look and make it easier to work with the rest of my steps in my makeup routine. I prefer to use pencil over dip brow since it’s faster and easier in my opinion. I go in with the brand ruby kisses in the shade black brown. You can buy this at your local beauty supply store.✨ ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Next step: Foundation

☾ Foundation type: Skin tint

ʚĭɞೃ Guys! I know y’all heard about this all over instagram. The fenty beauty eaze drop is amazinggg. It’s light weight, and covers your trouble areas with one layer!!. It looks super natural when you apply it to your skin with your fingers or brush, what ever you’ll like to use, but i prefer to use a flat angled brush. I use the shade 21. It’s perrrfect for the hot weather.☀️👒 ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Next step: Concealer

ʚĭɞೃ When it comes to concealer, the L.A girl pro concealer is my bestie. She gets the job done!! I highlight certain areas of my face such as my eyes, chin, forehead, upper lip, and the bridge of my nose. I also use it to shape/ clean my eyebrows. I use the shade toffee while doing these steps. When I want to be more natural or just in a rush, I use the L.A girl concealer in the shade toast which is close to my skin tone. I use it to cover up my problem areas and clean up my eyebrows on more chilled relaxed days. Lastly, I when I decide to test my make up skills I use the L.A girl pro concealer in the shade mahogany to contour at the moment, and it honestly works super well. ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Next step: Eyes

ʚĭɞೃ When it comes to the eyes I love to keep it neutral( i’m in love with colorful eye looks though). My pallet of choice is the two faced chocolate gold pallet and I go in with the shade “so boujee”. It compliments my eyes and skin tone so well!! ʚĭɞೃ

ʚĭɞೃ After i’m done applying my shadow I go in with too faced better than sex liquid eyeliner. I recently got back into doing winged looks that compliments my eyes. The cat eye winged look is my go to style!!. When i’m done with this step I go in with a eyeliner pencil in black to tighten my eyes. I go in with a regular beauty supply store eyeliner, but the urban decay pencil eyeliners are amazingggg. ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Next step: Lashes

ʚĭɞೃ Y’alll, my look isn’t completed without the lashessss. I use the too faced better than sex mascara to bring out my lashes. Before I talk about the lashes I use there’s this amazing glue I have to put y’all onto. My favorite lash glue is the kiss adhesive strip lash. You can get this from your local beauty supply store!! It keeps your lashes on alll day and doesn’t lift up. When it’s time for you to take them off, it comes off easily and doesn’t take your actual lashes with it. Now!! onto the lashes. I use Alicrown lashes from amazon. They’re fluffy mink lashes and comes in 10 pairss. ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Next step: Highlighter

ʚĭɞೃ I’ve also been getting into highlighters recently and figured out places that helps bring my whole look together and compliments me. I love applying highlighter under the arch of my eyebrows, the bridge of my nose, and my cupid’s bow. This combination is beautifullll y’all!! My highlighters of choice are juvias palace in the shade “Nefertiti”, fenty beauty diamond balm in “how many carats?!”, and glossier holascope in the shade “topaz”. It all depends on how i’m feeling that day. ʚĭɞೃ

☾ Last step: Lips

ʚĭɞೃ I loveeee lipgloss and lipliners. I’ll either go in with a liner and clear lipgloss combo, lip liner and tinted lipgloss, or just tinted lipgloss. I’ve been lighter with my lips for the spring and summer season. I’ve always go with a brown or purple tinted lipgloss. My top glosses of choice are NYX butter gloss in the shade “cinnamon roll” (I apply this gloss by it self), Milani gloss in the shade “whatever” (I either apply this by itself or with a lip liner from NK makeup in the shade “brown”), MAC dazzle gloss in the shade “Extra amps” (by it self) and ruby kisses jellicious lipgloss in clear with lip liner from NK in the shade “cappuccino”. ʚĭɞೃ

Everything's chill until Denki makes a comment about having a boyfriend in one particular video when they did a panel and he became uncomfortable when somebody dared him to kiss another panelist for fanservice.

Denki doesn't address it after that. He and his bf were new then, and the bf is a very private person who doesn't want anybody in their business.

He still mentions he's in a relationship from time to time, just casually letting it slip in vlogs or in the streams they do.

However, a whole damn year later, his patience breaks when a group of people on twitter started a lil discourse about the bakusquad being Problematic™ and that Denki only says he has a bf to pander to the gays, discrediting his claim of being bi (since in the bakusquad's early days, Denki had a v obvious crush on jirou)

So one friday evening, he uploads a video in their group channel with the title "Turning my BOYFRIEND into an e-girl while addressing some very BAD takes"

And the bf: it's Hitoshi.

He's the only one in their friend group who doesn't cosplay -- he isn't even part of the "bakusquad", only appearing in a total of 6 times in their videos bc he's camera shy and, for a lack of a better term, not much of a weeb.

Denki starts the video by saying, without any editing and fanfare, "My life is not a convention panel where you can ask me anything and I'll do it. I'm not a commodity; don't treat me like one. To everybody who doesn't listen: fuck you and your mom."

Hitoshi snorts beside him, and Denki smiles. The video becomes fun and lighter in mood after that.

The highlights of their 40 minute video are:

Denki bemoaning about Hitoshi having good skin while he tries to color match a foundation to use on him

"I've never seen you have a pimple in like. Years. Tell me your secrets." ---"I use bar soap on my face."

Hitoshi experiencing ASMR while Denki bounces a beautyblender on his face

Forgetting to put a wig cap on Hitoshi before applying foundation and contour bc ya boi's too damned excited to do everything else

Denki briefly introduces Hitoshi as his bf, telling people roughly when they got together and how long they've been together. He does this halfway into the video, giggling while in the middle of highlighting Hitoshi's cheekbones

Hitoshi smooches his bf while Denki is concentrating on giving him a wing. Denki continues to apply the eyeliner while grinning

Video has to end bc denki will not stop flirting and hitoshi just can't stand the fake eyelashes anymore. Hitoshi smears lipgloss on Denki's cheek with his smooches while denki does the outro and they both fall off the couch giggling. THEY'RE IN LOVEEEE YOUR HONOR

4 the ask game um i think u wear lots of interesting fabrics. less single colours more patterns of any kind. giving u my habit of listening to podcasts while commuting always as well. u NEVER use a knife 2 open oranges & u dont tell many jokes but ur laugh is rlly nice. u take notes with a single (blue) pen & like maaaybe ONE highlighter. im going to stop bc i feel like this is a good amount where theyre not all entirely completely removed from u . yeah you’re pretty on point… i do wear a lot of pattered clothes, i have like 5-6 dresses that i cycle through during the week and most of them are fun patterns <3 i loveeee podcasts sooo much if im walking or riding the bus in the morning they’re so nice to have on as ambient noise. i usually don’t cut open oranges with a knife, im not very good at it ajdbwjdns. and yeah… i like to think my laugh is nice <3 the notes part is SO real if i try and change pen colors it gets too complicated. if its prewritten notes, one pen (usually black or blue depending on which fits w/ the highlighter better) and one highlighter. if im taking my own notes, yeah literally only in one pen unless it’s vocab. i also have one specific brand of pen i really like. those sayings are SO fun. i’ll give you a latin one then <3 Iliacos intra muros peccatur et extra. it means faults are committed within the walls of Troy and also without.

adrinette study session is like: adrien dutifully studying. he’s got multi-colored pens and highlighters and everything. when he’s with marinette though, he often lets himself get distracted because he thinks she’s funny and he likes the break. marinette is extremely bad at staying focused and when she’s studying with someone else, she has a hard time not talking so she sets a timer for herself (i.e. for twenty minutes i have to study and then for five minutes after that i can talk to adrien)

I LOVEEEE THATTTT OH MY GODD

adrien is terrible for marinette because he's just the perfect person to talk to AHSHDHSHDH... they go on hour-long tangents while sitting in front of their textbooks and then freak out

Hiii!!! I think any of them could be on the chubby side, like literally any of them. They’re all the most gorgeous girls in my eyes but I gotta be honest I don’t really picture consistent sizes or hair types or skin colors when I’m writing them. It changes lol. The only thing I know for sure about the girls is their personalities.

That’s why I do really like the reader insert aspect, like you guys get to make these decisions and I adore that. At the end of the day, however I view them doesn’t really matter, it’s how you guys view them.

hii i have a question !! how do you edit/create that small yellow line you use for cuts/borders? everytime i edit mine in my stories it shows the white in the background :(

i made that one from scratch,, like positioning the orange in the middle etc (but ofc you can probably just google for easier work).

but okay once you have the picture, i loveeee using the eraser app. there’s a few but here’s the one i use:

just use the photo you want and either use the erase function or target area to remove the color/sections you don’t want. :) you can use the restore function to highlight the areas you wanna keep too so dw if you accidentally erased a tough corner or something.

note. when you add the pic on tumblr it will come with a white background but that’s only for your drafts — if you post it/save the draft the background will revert back to transparent :)

but also sometimes idk if it’s a bug but some pics i saved and it’s still not transparent but it’s rare so dw, if not you can use picsart too!! but i prefer eraser app because the eraser is not directly under your finger (hence you can see easier).

I’ve been getting blonde highlights for the longest & I loveeee them. It fits me so well & it’s so nice, especially for the summer months but I wanna try something different. Wondering if I should go dark for a change 🤔 my natural hair color is brown so would a darker shade of brown or even black look good on me? I’m leaning more towards a darker brown shade though. It’d probably suit me better.

Hair always takes me forever so thank youuuuu ;3; Also, I semi ‘cheat’ with the colour. I have favs saved in sai for future use.

Mostly skin tones but there are some others I really liked from places. Others I struggle to get good like the more neon colours and pastels. The yellows in the upper middle are wonderful for golds. The pinky purple skin tones are what I often use for the Russian bladers X) The lilac in the top corner is for Boris~
