Princess Training?

Decided to clean up this sketch! I wasn't entirely satisfied w it when I drew it, but eh... it's all I have LMFAOOO 🧍

Ah my favorite, royal princess x common lady... well, at least aesthetically... whether or not you're royalty in the real world is debatable... anyways, that aside, I think this is probably one of my favorite ship dynamics... I love.. similar to pomni she is very bad at hiding her feelings around you. Tends to stare with a blushing face. Loves making you dresses; assuming you can swap out dresses considering the whole "their clothes are attatched to their bodies" thing

While I doubt your clothing can rip or tear thanks to the properties of the digital world, I think if she could, she would patch up any holes

Honestly I think out of this entire post, kinger is the only one who gets a platonic/found family take on this... just an old king and his princess kid. Again I'm not sure if he truly believes he royalty or if he was trying to appeal to the gloink queen by saying "as a royal myself.." but.. honestly I like the idea that he just likes playing the part. Like he knows hes not royalty but. You know? Let this man embellish himself

Absolutely melts if you compliment her. Sure, she would still melt if you weren't a princess.. but having someone so pretty and graceful saying it hits a certain way for her

SOOOOOOOOO this ended up being longer than a drabble. I didn't know what to write cus the post Dr Strange era is still WIP but uh... this happened and now it's almost 1k. HELP

"Are we seriously going to live in this creepy weird old house of your new cult now?" Tony asks. He's lying on the couch in what seems to be the sitting room. Then again, the rooms change so often Tony doesn't really know if any of them are permanent fixtures. The Clock swats at Tony's head affectionately at that quip. Both it and Stephen know Tony doesn't really mean it. If Tony had any ill will towards the Sanctum, he'd have never been allowed in. Husband to the Master of the Sanctum or not. "It's not creepy and we don't have to stay here, as long as I have a passageway linked between here and where we live." Stephen replied nonchalantly as he floated in midair, trying to read. "Great! Problem solved then. We have the compound." Tony replies. Stephen stays silent. "Oh come on Stephanie, give me something here." Tony retorts.

"You know how I feel about the Compound."

"Yea yea, you hate the fact that it's so far outside the city - away from the NYC views and the killer commute." Tony says, recalling the same argument they've been having ever since the Compound was created years ago. "But counterpoint, you don't have to travel every week to Metro General anymore and you have portals anyway so what's the big deal?" "The big deal is that it's not home Tony." Stephen sighs. "And you think this is? I love you Steph, so much baby, and I'm super proud of all that... magic sorcery things you do now but can you really imagine me living here? With the bots?" Stephen ignored him. "Oh come on, the bots and Cloakie will probably set this entire place on fire before we even fully move in." "The Sanctum is protected against fires among other things." Stephen diverts.

"That's so not the point. The point is -"

"The point is that we have a perfectly great home waiting for us, right here in New York City, that has all the space we could need and is within walking distance to the Sanctum." Stephen finishes, closing the book and floating back down to the floor.

"The Tower? That's what this has been about? You want to go back to the tower? The one that was attacked multiple times by various bad guys because it's literally a beacon for trouble? That tower?" Tony asks bewildered. He'd always thought everyone was on board with the move away from there to upstate New York.

"It was perfect for everyone. The team had their own floors, location was as central as you can get here, we had space for family rooms, games rooms and a fully stacked Med-bay and did I mention that everyone loved living there together?" Stephen emphasizes.

Tony was confused at that, and Stephen could see it. He sighed and explained, "The team agreed about the Compound because they thought it was the best choice strategically but no one wanted to leave Tony. It was our home."

Tony tried to process what he was hearing.

"Clint retired fully because the Compound was too far for him to keep coming back to from the farm. When we were still at the tower, he'd still been a part-time Avenger. Steve loved being able to go on his runs at Central Park and I know he misses it as well. It's home Tony. I know we left and you sold it but - I don't think for a second any of us liked leaving it." Stephen explains gently. He's very aware of how quickly this conversation could be interpreted as him and the rest ganging up on Tony. "But previous arguments still stand. We need the compound for training, especially for all terrains and outdoor field training." Tony spoke as his mind already spun with ideas for re-purchasing the tower and getting everyone's things in order.

"Well, it doesn't seem like much of an issue when I have portals now does it? I can always set up a permanent portal to the Compound." Tony looked up at him in slight awe. "You really thought this through huh? You guys really want to go home?" Tony asked.

"It's home Tony. Everyone wants that. No one ever wanted to mention it to you, that's all." "I'll deal with that later but for now....I guess I'm begging Pepper to help me buy my tower back." Tony concedes. "I'm the one telling the rest though. You're not getting all the credit." Stephen laughs joyfully. Things might have changed much in the past year since his accident, but this... the feeling of home...that's still the same as always.

Tony smiles at that laugh. "You sure this is what you want? That it won't interfere with your duties as a Wizard?" Tony clarifies once again. Instead of getting annoyed Stephen just smiles and says, "Yes Tony, I'm sure." He agrees. "Besides, the tower rests on the main ley lines connecting back to the Sanctum. It's a perfect conduit for the mystic arts."

"That really a thing?" Tony questions, pausing in his emails to Pepper.

Stephen smirks a little and says, "Why do you think it attracts all that trouble and theoretics? Definitely not for that ugly design."

Simeon

w/o mc - he is a light sleeper like mother let kid sleep in their own room but is paranoid that something may happen (him and luke cause i hc that luke has night terrors often) he does let luke sleep in his bed if luke has a really bad nightmare or is just really shaken up for whatever reason, doesn't snore but does sleep talk and sleep walk usually to lukes room out of habit of checking on baby luke but occsionally just stands in the corner of solomons room mumbling random things almost creepily (need eggs for the cookies and flour for the cupcakes), i've said this many times before but w i n g s c a n b e b l a n k e t mans sleeps with his wings out as a blanket.

w/ mc - pretty much the exact same buuuuuuuuut cuddle positions!! (i promise i'll add this to the brothers version) love love loves it when him or mc lays on the others chest and he will use his wings to hold mc closer to him also loves big spoon little spoon mainly big spoon so he can wrap his wings around mc (cant tell me he doesn't love holding/hugging/cuddling mc with his wings) will use his wings to block out any morning sun light (if they're in the human realm its a good excuse to sleep in 'simeon, i have to get up its late' 'no you dont angel,its still dark' 'no it isn't, your just using your wings block the sun out') he's also pretty cold and enjoys teasing mc with the power of his freezing cold hands like just placing them on their back or something suddenly to feel the jolt of mc jumping at the sudden temperature change

Luke

w/o mc - frequent night terrors like cannot sleep kinda night terrors so simeon has to help him get back to sleep or atleast try ('luke i promise nothing like that will happen to me' 'are you sure'), he is a restless sleeper he is all over his bed at once and he has like a million plushies on his bed if any fall off he's appologising immediantly, he snores but not loudly like average kind of snores, and like simeon but also not like him (like father like son type a stuff) luke sleeps with his wings out (i feel like its a realm wide kind of thing in the celestial realm) but his wings are not quite blanket size for himself so he does have to use a blanket at night

w/ mc - he's mostly the same (he has slapped both mc and simeon on accident due to his restlesness) but he will bring one plushie with him if he does end up going to simeons room to sleep, also best sleep he'll ever get is when mc is with simeon cause he knows that they're safe with simeon but more importantly if he has a nightmare theres the chance that mc will go to comfort him ('m- mc? i had another *sniffle* nightmare' 'it's okay luke 'm here') it'd help especially if his nightmare is about something bad happening to mc and when he'd end up sleeping in simeons bed he'd be inbetween mc and simeon both of his parental figures helping him go back to sleep helps him to not have night mares or terrors

Solomon

w/o mc - when he does sleep he sleep talks like very big sleep talker tends to accidentally say spells in his sleep or summon asmodeus and/or barbatos in his sleep ('solomoooooooon honey i told you t-' 'so you got summoned by the sleeping bastard at midnight too?') he sleeps sprawled out starfish on his stomach probably still in his uniform (he does not give two craps) average sleeper too like not too deep of a sleep but not too light of a sleep, he will wake up when ever he hears simeon running to lukes room or when simeon is doing the creepy corner stand thing though

w/ mc - he sleeps alot more often still sleep talks and occasionally summons asmo or barbs but not as often stops sleeping starfish but still prefers to sleep on his stomach (which leads us to cuddlessssss) feel like he'd prefer to be ontop of mc like head resting on chest but like face down asleep hugging them as they either play with his hair or sleep, mans if also probaby burning hot so no need for a blanket when you have him ('solomon you're too hot' 'i know i am but you're way hotter my little aprentice' 'solomoooooooon you know what i mean')

Reading one the other asks about Ruby and Ai sometimes headbutting made me wonder what it'd be like if Ai lived and had these little fights between her children like any other mother and child...would it be often, what topics would it usually be, how do they usually resolve it...Ai is usually bad a communication so I wonder if these will make her become a better speaker or she'll just resolve them through giving them treats lol. Would Ai even be able to stay mad at all? It feels like not really, she doesn't seem like the type to do that... Ai lives au is giving me brainrot

I definitely think it would take a really long time for them to have their first fight, at least in comparison to other parents and kids… really, in a lot of ways, Ai is really living the dream as a first time mom with her literally supernaturally well behaved children lol. So she never really has to deal with temper tantrums or most of the things that can usually cause like, mundane, everyday friction in a family.

I also think she's a bit of a pushover at first either way, though. Not just because she adores Aqua and Ruby enough to want to spoil them rotten and to sincerely want the world for them, I also could see her as maybe being pretty afraid of having to be the disciplinarian at first because of her own experience growing up with Ayumi who was horrifically abusive towards her. She's never had healthy, stable motherhood modelled for her and she's learning as she goes, so I can really see her being scared of getting mad or having to give a scolding, because she associates 'mom getting mad' with her own experiences with being hurt and afraid of her mom. And the idea of Aqua or Ruby ever being afraid of her…. ouuhghhh it'd shatter her heart to pieces.

From Ruby's POV I think she is sooooooooo drunk on the Loving My Mama juice and starstruck with Ai as an idol that I think she'd really want to be The Perfect Child for her as long as possible, especially since at that age, her wounds from Marina's abuse and abandonment would have been so, so incredibly fresh. We have literally two entire on-page interactions between Sarina and Marina and in both of them, Marina is making it very clear that Sarina's wants and needs are an inconvenience to her, that Sarina has been taught to feel guilty for asking things from her mom or 'causing trouble' for her, as Marina puts it - so I can really easily see her having this ingrained fear of "if I'm bad/make trouble for mama, she won't like me anymore, so i have to Be Good"

It's something they would both learn to navigate as the kids and Ai both grow up in their own ways, I think. This ask gave me the idea for a little Ai-Ruby fic of their first fight, so now I really want to cook on this all some more and write it…………………….

MEMENTO AMICIS

It was a cloudy, rainy day, with Popstar still recovering fully from the attacks produced by Fylass, Cosmounse and Niru, so it wasn’t surprising that some harsh weather was going to follow, although by Magolor and Susie’s research, it shouldn’t be too bad, just a minor inconvenience - it was so minor in fact, that Dedede and Meta Knight decided to start their relationship officially with their first date; they confessed their feelings for eachother as a couple the night after the battle that saved the Galaxy and the Universe. Kirby, Bandee and Fylass are being taken care of by the Waddle Dees, since they still have proper recovery to follow, Kirby especially, since he lost his copy abilities. The King and his Knight still needed to take care of themselves for a bit, but they felt healthy enough to go out to a fancy restaurant before the rain catched them up on the way through.

Meta felt awkward to willingly go out without a mask, not only with people around, but also when he’s just starting his romantic life with the King of Dreamland, nonetheless - even then, it was a choice he did himself, even Dedede asked him if he was okay with going out maskless, since he knew that he’d be uncomfortable without it, but the knight thought that it’d be a necessary step to take, since he didn’t need to hide anything anymore, he just needed to take more time with it…

''Wowie…! Look at us! We got here in time…! I can already hear the rain behind us, and we just entered…!'' Dedede sputtered, breathing in and out after running before the rain reached both.

''In…Indeed. Nova, we should have asked Fylass to lend us his umbrella…'' Meta spoke back.

''Oh well! We can’t do anything about that now. At least we’re not soaked wet for it now! Here, let’s pick a seat…!'' He walked towards one of the free tables and sat down in a ''kingly'' manner. Meta followed after, trying to hide his flustered expression with the hat he brought along for the occasion.

''Ah… Perfect…'' Dedede may seem excited and relaxed about what he’s doing, but it was clear that he was nervous that he could screw up the date in any moment, wagging his tail awkwardly and having difficulty with keeping eye focus on his significant other, and so did the other, they were pretty much in love with each other but at the same time it was awkward that they were actually doing this together - they didn’t know that they’d be dating someone in the first place, let alone dating each other, so it was a start…

''...Sooooooooo… Any movies you’d wanna watch when we’re done here?'' Dedede asked awkwardly.

''...I am not sure… In fact, I don’t know what movies there are for today…'' Meta responded.

''...Riiiiiight. We could watch, uh… Uh… Man, I dunno. I guess we’ll figure out when we go there eventually, today is OUR day! …Yeah!'' The king was doing his best to make Meta feel welcome but he’s not sure if he’s either ruining the date or somehow making it better.

''I mean, yes, this is what the day’s all about.'' Meta said. ''...Sorry if I still seem too serious for me to be dating, I am still not used to these romantic activities… I do wonder if my father did have the same problems… He’s a very kind man, and very charming to the eye.''

''Oh! Speaking about that! I’ve never got to see this, but your eyes are so beautiful! Such a bright yellow glimmer! I could look at them all day.'' He said, either complimenting or flirting, or even both.

''A-Ah… Thank you, kindly.'' Meta slightly blushed. ''That Memento Mori given by Morpho really gave out more perks than expected…''

''...Memento?'' Dedede asked.

''Oh, yes, I forgot to explain that… I might explain it later, since it’d be probably very heavy to explain it during a romantic date with you.''

''Ah, ah… Understandable…!'' Dedede was invested in what Meta was planning to say, but overall knew that this was a date, not a place where he probably was going to get depressed afterwards. ''...Hey, uh…''

''Yes…?''

''Do you… uh…. like this? Do you love me? Am I, uh, doing something wrong?'' He was getting pretty insecure about all this - he loves Meta, that’s obvious, but he feels like if he’s acting like this, maybe because he’s doing something wrong.

''...What kind of question is that?'' Meta answered. ''Of course I do…! I said it in front of you.''

''I mean, yes! But… I mean, why would you love ME out of all people. Just look at me! I am messing this date up! I dunno what I am doing wrong, but I am doing SOMETHING wrong, right? I’m truly sorry if I am making this worse than what it was planned. You deserve something big, something great! And I feel like I am not delivering what I should…''

''...Listen, my King. Please, erase those thoughts from your head. You are not doing anything wrong. We just still need to get used to this. I can do nothing but promise that I’ll always appreciate your company and love you, because that’s what I feel… Don’t feel like you’re doing something bad because it’s slow, at least this time.'' Meta responded.

It was still awkward, but maybe now, it wasn’t that bad, from there, other small conversations happened. Soon enough, the conversations became longer and longer, and they felt more comfortable with talking about… just about anything.

''Ah! Hello, King and… Meta…!'' A Waddle Dee suddenly came into the scene, apparently being a waiter. ''Sorry for the delay, Marx has been making a mess on the other door about his meal not having a kids toy, even if this is a high class restaurant. Should I take your order?''

''Oh, yes! I forgot about that… Yeah, we’ll take…''

my (spoilery) thoughts from the high republic phase 1 comics (so far*):

(*i've read THR vol. 1-3, trail of shadows mini-series, and eye of the storm mini-series. next up i'll be reading monster at temple peak, and all the phase 1 high republic adventures)

keeve trennis. like that's it, that's the bullet point. keeve fucking trennis. so glad i finally got to meet her properly and she is SO. COOL. she immediately jumped up the list of my fave THR characters

keeve getting knighted by avar was very important to me 🥺 like every time one of these padawans gets knighted i feel like such a proud parent! (also bonus points for keeve rambling and basically telling avar "you're so fucking cool and i love you." like, same <3)

it was great to finally see what avar was up to during our time jumps between lotj and rising storm and fallen star. we know she was fighting the drengir and then chasing lourna; and we learn from her later that she really struggled with the darkness she encountered, esp when dealing with the drengir over and over. it was good to finally see more of the drengir and see everything that avar was going through

that scene in THR vol. 3 where avar almost killed lourna 👀 like this coming after her reprimanding sskeer for thoughtlessly killing nihil, and also paralleling elzar killing chancey. it was just a really good scene showing that this conflict with the nihil and the drengir and constantly being surrounded by violence and darkness can bring any of the jedi to their tipping point

sskeer and keeve's relationship means SO much to me 🥺💚 definitely one of my fave master-padawan duos to come out of the high republic so far!

really fun and not at all painful reading through the comics after the books and realizing "oh, you're dead. and you're dead. and you--yep you're dead too." like the house (starlight beacon) is haunted!!!!

maru is really cool and his last scene with avar i'm-- 😭

the artwork when keeve and terec first encountered the nameless was sooooooooo good

i reallyyyy enjoyed the eye of the storm mini-series. learning about the evereni people coming from a world of tempests and storms and how they evolved and adapted not to trust anyone was very good. it was nice finally getting a little more insight into marchion's character

the trail of shadows mini-series might be my favorite so far though! emerick is also SO. COOL. his friendship (and growing bond) with sian was really great. and well, i love a mystery! i love weird force shit! so the creepy lullaby about the nameless being woven throughout was really good.

also that HUG between emerick and keeve 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

also emerick knowing about the firebrands polycule lmaoooo. like everybody knows, and they're all just like "you know what? that's none of our business."

but also seeing stellan and avar so at odds with each other (both in trail of shadows and in the main THR comics) hurts bad. it hurts real bad. because they'll never get the chance to apologize to each other 😭

EDIT: i forgot to mention fuckin, buckets of blood stripping down to his underwear and then going to fight the nameless like?????? i mean he gave emerick his robes that had the nameless' blood on them, but bro you couldn't have just taken off your top robe?? pants had to go too??? (i mean i suppose if i was jacked like torban i also would strip down to my underwear). just a very funny moment in an otherwise very serious scene.

Headcanons for Sam Winchester that are true because I say so;

As promised from my poll! (Sorry for the delay; organic chemistry is a BITCH.)

- he does literally NOTHING with his hair, EVER. He barely brushes it, doesn’t use conditioner, and forget to cut it; and yet it looks amazing everyday. Sam is the very definition of “I woke up like this.” (Yes, it drives Dean so far up the wall as he takes a minimum of an hour and a half to get ready)

- he always thinks girls don’t like him, but really; it’s cause he can’t tell when a girl is approaching him and blatantly flirting. (“She seemed really nice!”😁 Dean: 😑)

- before he started hunting with his brother; he was always known as the most positive, upbeat, spunky, innocent person any of his friends knew. But a lots changed since then….

- he likes movies and tv shows; but he doesn’t actually ever watch them. Half the stuff Dean quotes he HAS actually seen, but he always falls asleep or gets distracted and doesn’t remember.

- he’s allergic to sooooooooo many things. So many things. Not really food tho, mainly just the outside. He goes thru about 4 pill packs of allergy meds a week. (He used to only need 1 pack of prescription allergy meds, but since they’ve been on the road he can never get it refilled, let alone renewed.)

- the reason why Sam knows so much about fairy tales; (and Dean doesn’t even remember this) is because whenever Sam couldn’t get to sleep as a kid, Dean would read him whatever fairytale kids - book he could snag from whatever public library they were near at the time.

- the worlds worst dancer, both Winchester brothers are, but Sam is the worse of the two. It’s because Dean at least owns the moves, Sam just looks like he has to poop….

- his left ear IS pierced. It was a dare from his friends in college, he doesn’t wear it around Dean cause he would never hear the end of it…. (But he just couldn’t bear to let the piercing close up/heal, he secretly thinks it’s so cool)

- CAFFEINE ADDICT. The man cannot do anything without his coffee, tea, soda, if it’s caffeinated, he’s drinkin it. (As a consequence of this; he LOVES Starbucks. pumpkin spice lattes + 4 expresso shots = happy sam)

- he’s SUCH a light sleeper. And Dean is a SNORER. It’s a nightmare. (And not the prophetic traumatic kind)

- he kinda hates driving. He doesn’t really mind in the impala cause he’s used to it, but he only really volunteers to drive now when he knows Dean needs rest. He thinks driving is boring and he always has to force his eyes to stay on the road ahead.

- he thinks Dean is the funniest person alive. He laughs on the inside at all of his brothers jokes. (He wouldn’t admit that even on his deathbed, demons couldn’t torture that info out of him)

- kids kinda make him nervous. His regular charm doesn’t really work on kids, they’re always unpredictable, and they’re so fragile. He of course is always kind to them, but he’s not really comfortable with them.

- he was obsessed with dinosaurs as a child; one of his secret greatest wishes’, is to have a case somehow involve dinosaurs. Dinosaur ghosts.

- he has a pretty heavy southern accent like Dean, but in law school, people didn’t take him seriously tho, so he practiced for 4 months to drop the accent. (He slips sometimes when he gets really mad or excited)

I usually like to have a mix of dearly beloved popular characters who rank high and personal faves I think deserve alts (Libra my beloved) but this time. I think it's just a collection of the characters I'm most autistic about LMFAO, plus contributing to the Get Lon'qu An Alt cause and If Soren Doesn't Win This Year I'll Fucking Lose It cause.

i think people let nostalgia blind them a little when it comes to atla. don’t get me wrong, it’s great cartoon and i’ve rewatched it countless times but i also recognise it’s fine for the live action to make changes because that’s what happens when you adapt something. the live action is not perfect, but i had fun watching it and it feels like some people are just watching to nitpick and hate

Big agree. There are weak spots in the cartoon and also weak spots in the live action show. Are both enjoyable shows, though? Yes.

And that’s what I feel people can’t grasp. They’re like oooh they cut this, or why did they add that, or this character isn’t the same blah blah — and like yeah it’s not the same. I had zero interest in watching a replica with real people. I’ll just watch the cartoon and enjoy it

Like shows with real people have a lot of limitations, and not just because of budgets. It shouldn’t be news to people that there would be changes and a lot of stuff will get condensed, cut, or adapted in a different way. That was always going to happen.

I’ve seen people complain about Bumi and I’m like you know what I really loved the live action show Bumi. It’s a different take on it — him feeling bitter, showing obvious trauma from the pressure of ruling during a war that’s lasted this long, and being more unhinged rather than all super goofy guy like hey Aang just wait till you realise who I am. It’s different, more serious, and that’s okay. You can still enjoy cartoon Bumi. He ain’t going anywhere

Ppl complain about Katara, and like yeah I get it. She’s not as “fierce” in some aspects. But she suits this version of atla. She suits feeling more like a younger sister instead of a pseudo mum. She suits getting angry when Sokka treats her like a little girl rather than angry he doesn’t wash his own socks. She suits being paralyzed during fights at first because she has major ptsd and has been hiding her bending gif so long. It is realistic and fits the show, just as Cartoon Katara fit the cartoon and is still there. You can enjoy her. Cartoon Katara is not going anywhere

Like please will ppl stop looking for the things to complain about and instead see what we’re being given — an adaptation that is intense, funny, emotional and yes different.

We get Jet and the freedom fighters bombing places in omashu than wanting to flood a fire nation village. That’s not a bad thing. It cut out a whole lot of unnecessary stuff and also gave us an emotional scene with Jet and Katara. Did the part where she freezes him and says goodbye feel less dramatic? Yeah, honestly I would have been down to see her angrier. But I also think part of that is the limitations with special effects and waterbending (which always looks the weakest). the actress playing Katara is also dojng her interpretation of the character. (And can I just Jet was perfectly cast and I couldn’t imagine a better Jet)

So we didn’t get Sokka being with Jet? Who cares. Sokka’s story arc is focusing on different things. I loved how his interactions with Suki went. I love even more the scene where he’s listening in on Hakoda and Bato’s conversation and that line “some people aren’t made to be responsible for others lives” or whatever it was. It was so powerful.

And the cave of two lovers being resolved through family love? YES. I love that so much. Like thank you for giving non-romantic love a moment to shine. Katara and Sokka’s argument in that cave had so much weight and emotional intensity. It’s different from the arguments we get in the cartoon and that’s okay. Their dynamic is slightly different and that’s okay. THE CARTOON IS STILL THERE. YOU CAN ENJOY THE CARTOON OKAY

And honestly I could scream for days about what they’ve been doing with Zuko and Aang. I love them both so much and I love the extra stuff we’ve been getting with them. The Blue spirit stuff and that scene after was sooooooooo good. The little smile, the way they start to connect, and then Aang says t he wrong thing (bringing up Ozai) and Zuko lashes out and it’s just perfect ahhhhh

Also Zuko actually fighting back in the Agni Kai but hesitating to hurt his father was such a good choice. I love the cartoon for having him cry and beg to the end, but I also love the live actuon show for giving us something different. I WANT TO SEE THESE KIND OF CHANGES

And maybe I’m in the minority for that and I really don’t care if ppl think my opinion is rubbish. I love the cartoon. I love tye live action show

so yal may be surprised af to know I’ve never watched Elvis the movie or even any clips even though I’ve been a Austin fan since his earlier days and a bigggh Baz fan since Romeo + Juliet (still so obsessed and Moulin Rouge ahhh so good) I honestly wasn’t sure how’d they portray Elvis and his relationship with black artist of the time and culture and I didn’t want to have to go there bc I adore them both. Plus I surprisingly don’t remember that much press for it but I know that’s more of who I was following. It’s only been the past couple months I’ve been catching up on that press tour and I’m so obsessed I love love lovvvvveeee Baz and Austin tg and I pray they work tg again.

but then eventually I obviously heard such good things about it and kept telling myself to watch it and idk just never did.

also I asked my mom if she wanted to watch and she said “girl I been watched it! Me and grandma watched it together and it was so good, it was like watching an Elvis concert. Put it on I’ll watch it again”

like ok wow girl you just been watched it without me 🙄 also I’m sure she doesn’t realize Austin is the same actor from our show The Shannara Chronicles. Gosh I loved that series when it aired.

it was so emotional and so visually stunning. I personally loved the respect and appreciation they showed for black culture. I know people are 50/50 on it but I feel like was never told this way, that Elvis did in fact care and appreciate this community he grew up in and felt accepted by. When he needed to get back to himself THAT is where he could go either physically or in song.

wow Austin was wow. He was extraordinary. I love love Brendan but idk Austin just brought a life and emotion to Elvis NO ONE has been able to over all these years. From his happiness to his grief. He was able to bring back a love and appreciation for Elvis. Def Oscar worthy.

and Baz. A real fucking genius. No one could have made this movie but him, not in true Elvis fashion. I think Elvis would have loved the way he shot this. The way Baz told his story. but it is a film sadly I will probably never watch again it was just tooo emotional for me. I’m sucker for people losing their parents young or being taking advantage of and he was!!! And he died sooooooo young I swear my whole life I thought this man passed in his 60s and he was HARDLY 40!! Omg my heart just breaks for him and those who truly loved and cared for him.

I really don’t have a favorite part but i love all the early shots of Elvis and Austin in the pink!! Ah! And the pink lace omg it’s just such a look. Austin pulls off the pink so well. Him running around on Beale Street. The opening scene with Elvis and how we hardly see his face as we’re tryna catching up with him and we mostly just see the people around him. I love how the guy yells out at him fairy or something and you can just see the gf intrigued and then Elvis just goes off and then she’s the first one to scream and then he yells for her to sit down when she jumps up! lmfao I was cracking up. Loved that part.

one of the other parts I loved is how Baz shoots Toms character the colonel when he’s trying to get a first look at young Elvis out back. He truly shot him like the predator he was. That was just ugh I loved that part, young Elvis is w his mama and those who care abt him and he’s nervous and just tryna get a grip and here he is watching and just taking in what he can to use for his own good. Ugh fucking piece of shit.

and the closet scene crying over him mama 😭 that must have been emotional for Austin.

and when they threatened him not to shake a pinky and he does before letting loose and all hell breaks loose.

I can see why Austin ended up in the hospital right after filming it must have taken such a toll on his body I can’t imagine what Elvis was actually feeling and sadly I understand why he passed so young.

thoughts on james dillon and/or jack aubrey/james dillon/stephen maturin? 👀

love that guy <3 and that is canon to me. not that it *happened* necessarily but that Dillon wanted it to. I fully believe that Stephen and Dillon have the exact dynamic of "we used to fuck bc we were single but we ended up moving out of each other's lives for Unrelated Reasons and now its Kinda Awkward" the vibes between them are sooooooooo specific. A Very peculiar kind of intimacy

I think Dillon and Stephen used to hook up and that Dillon is both jealous of Jack (for having Stephen's attention so fully) and into him. Unfortunately Dillon is no longer Chill about his lack of heterosexuality as a result of developing an Enthusiasm re:Catholicism, and is not normal about his Catholicism either bc he's a commissioned officer. So it's all coming out of him in weird bad ways and he's often Rather Unpleasant. Poor guy i love him so much. I wanna put him in a mason jar with a paper lid that has holes poked in and study him.
