#I love the headcanon that Wild descend from Twilight

Note
I know that there is this whole thing about Wild being Twilight’s descendant, and while I have nothing against it, what if Wild is Warriors’s descendant? I’m color coding since the topic kind of jumps a bit so it’s (hopefully) easier to understand.
Hear me out. I saw this one post about Warriors’s era being before Wild’s and it all makes sense as to why there are stuff from each timeline in Wild’s era because of the War Across the Ages. It also mentioned how Zelda’s blessing to Wild with all of the Champions watching also added evidence to the idea. It said that their theory was that Warriors has another adventure after LU and he’s the hero that first fights the Calamity and that’s when all of the Guardians and Divine Beasts were made.
Now for my theory of Wild being Warriors’s descendant. It all starts out with Warriors’s kid that looks up to the captain and decides to be a knight and protect Hyrule like how he did, then a cycle starts and it leads all the way to Wild following his father’s footsteps to being a knight. It could also be as to how Wild was named Link as one of their heroic ancestors. But ultimately after Wild’s death, he forgets everything. He doesn’t fully remember why he decided to be a knight other than Flora mentioning following his father’s footsteps.
Then, imagine when Wild and Warriors meet. They’re both knights, so that’s something that they find that they have in common, and so that’s something they first use as an ice breaker. Then it could lead to Link remembering some stuff about his background, so he mentions to Warriors how there’s a long line of knights in his family because of the hero before him, but they don’t exactly know who is before Wild just yet.
But also, what if they don’t ever realize that they’re related until after the LU adventure? Just one day Wild and Flora find some information that was hidden that Wild’s line of knights came because of Warriors. But Warriors has to figure that out by seeing it happen. His second adventure with Ganon happens, the Divine Beasts and Guardians are made. He has to live with the fact that what was made to help him killed one of his brothers. Then, the captain is also there to see the cycle start; his kid looking up to him so much that they become a knight, then their kid does the same, then so on. Warriors puts two and two together and is hit with the realization and he can do nothing to share a similar bond with Wild as Time did with Twilight. That it was too late to give Wild the gift of getting to feel what it was like to have his past family back.
I’m so sorry if this is incoherent.
kissing you on the forehead anon i love you thank you for color coding mwah /p
this is so interesting and so so devastating, and while I don’t headcanon Wild is descended from any of em, I’m lowkey obsessed with this this is depressing in the best way possible /pos. this is SO fucking tragic 😭
ALSO WARS REALIZING TOO LATE?? ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL. I LOVE IT.

Ohh could you do Poly! Chain minus Wind because he’s a minor!
Like the reader Is non binary and likes to dye their hair and have a bunch of tattoos and piercings! How would the chain react to that?
If you can’t do that then:
Reader who is obsessed with the chains ears? Like they have a love for elves in fantasy so they are obsessed with the chains ears?
Tumblr media
I can absolutely do the first one! Just a heads up part of this will be a short story that will lead into headcanons format! Hope you don't mind. Thank you for requesting :)
Warnings: Mentions of needles and piercings if not a big fan.
The group of traveling hero's were heading towards a certain village that was thankfully wasn't too far. It was also relieving since youngest of the group was getting a bit antsy; they've been walking non-stop for hours. More than what they usually do.
Their outer-worldly friend was also reaching their limit, but from what the group has been told. They aren't used to walking such long distances; they're only able to keep going this far because of the view.
Twilight lightly snorts at the thought. There isn't a pretty view in Hyrule Field, especially his Hyrule in his opinion, Wild's version of Hyrule is much more beautiful. Although [Name] has adamantly denied his wording, speaking on how they never thought they would even see any version Hyrule.
A small bashful smile appears on his lips as he recalls the conversation. Honestly how did they all end up with someone who isn't afraid to speak openly to them?
Twilight shakes his head lightly before facing forward, gently leading Epona to a familiar route. Kakariko Village. Yet one thing still remains in his mind, the type of clothing [Name] is wearing.
Said person is happily following others to the village. A decent pace for themselves so they won't collapse when they finally stop, but being completely honest they feel like they might at any moment. Why didn't they accept Legend's insistence on changing clothing at their last stop?
A black baggy hoodie with a comfortable shirt underneath and casual jeans. It was an outfit that they wore back home before ending up here which in all fairness was something that was normal! It was getting fresher since winter is coming up, so it wasn't their fault that they were wearing a warm outfit.
Finally, did the familiar gates of Kakariko village appear. It was sort of like someone did magic on the group as visibly their shoulders stopped tensing. Their voices gained a bit more volume as they all walked the path.
Wind rushed forward and headed straight for the spring that is off to the side. A smile formed on Time's lips as he watched over the younger one; he was going to follow until [Name] also ran past everyone to follow after him.
Time held a bit of fondness for them. Although he refuses to say anything outwardly, merely enjoying the rest of the boys look of shock whenever he does a 'charming' act towards [Name].
A small exhale left from Time before turning away from the duo, he trust that the both of you will be able to take care of each other. Instead he called for the his descendant and asked if there were any place that could provide for the group.
The two went further into the village with Twilight leading. The rest of the group went off into separate directions, a bit curious to how the village was different.
Sky and Wild walked off to the bomb shop that's still up and running. They both heard Twilight speak of a certain bomb that can go off underwater.
Four and Legened went to the 1st ever shop of Malo Mart. They wanted to see what was for sale, and if the shop was actually run by a child.
Meanwhile Hyrule simply decided to follow [Name] and Wind to the spring. He did wanted to clean up his face a bit after all that traveling. Hyrule's eyes squinted in fondness as he spots the two near the edge of the spring. They were laughing at each other as well as splashing water on their clothes until it got a bit more intense which derailed into the both of them tackling each other into the water.
Hyrule hurried over and helped Wind up with [Name] also pushing the boy up. The duo giggling at their actions without a care. "Honestly, did you two really had to go that far?" spoke Hyrule as he grabbed Wind's bag from his hands. The young sailor had handed it to him as he tried wringing the water from his clothes.
"Of course! The little devil insulted me," [Name] said with a bit of snark, "you think I was going to let that slide?" They removed their hoodie and tied it around their waist, thank goodness it was only that got drenched.
"Holy shit! Those are so cool! Are those permanent?!"
Hyrule:
Shocked to the fucking core when he saw your tattoos for the first time.
He thought they were so interesting and hesitantly asked if he could look at your arm.
When you say yes??
Yall he is looking at them like they were drawn by hylia herself.
He enjoys tracing them with his fingers
When you explain how they were made he was lowkey concerned
Wdym it’s a bunch of needles piercing your skin with ink??
WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT TOOK A FEW DAYS FOR THEM TO BE DONE???
He almost fainted when you showed him your tongue piercing
There was no way he would willingly poke a hole into his own tongue
Sees you in a different light now
But like also curious if he could get a piercing as well-
YOUR HAIR MAKES HIM STARE A LOT
Currently it's dyed a lilac color and seriously believes that it suits you very much
dyes a small part of his hair the same as yours
Time:
Impressed-
Knows damn well those things hurt
Really loves the way everything was shaded in
Also loves the way you had your entire arm covered
Respects the amount of hours you put aside to make sure it came out well
Thoroughly enjoys your piercing in reality
First one to notice the one in your tongue
Totally didn’t fall in love even further when you told him the process
teehee 100% loves you with snake bites
Also impressed with your pain tolerance
You changed your hair to a soft pink
Honestly entranced with your hair
Reminds him of the fairies from one of the Great Fairies from Termina
Legend:
Whatwhatwhatwhatwhatwhatwhat
When did you get those???
Do they still hurt??
Why did you get those??
Who made them for you??
Also does not like your piercing
DON'T BLAME THE GUY FOR SOME REASON HE JUST DOESN'T
Ofc he won’t make you take them off
Aint no way he letting your money go to waste
Only thing he does like are your tattoos and the regular ear piercings you have
Lowkey cries when you pierce his and Ravio’s ears
Cries again when he realizes that all three of you have matching jewelry
Now its a nice teal color that Legend really loves too
He helps with you taking care of it and keep its color
Ravio helps you redye so that your hair stays
Twilight:
BARKING LIKE THE DOG HE IS
FUCKING LOVES EVERYTHING
THE TATTOOS AND THE PIERCING
PACKAGE DEAL BABY
Definitely whines when you refuse to do matching tattoos with him
Only because he chooses the ugly designs
Also because you don’t trust the way people do tattoos in hyrule
Enjoys switching out the jewelry for the ones that can be switched out
Buys you the good quality gems honestly-
Twilight always questions how you were able to get your hair silver
Seriously how many tries did you have to do to get that color??
Four:
Move out of the way yall it's his turn
Asks about your favorite piece that’s on your arm
Makes notes about your likes and dislikes and hears about the one that really hurt
He makes little items that are similar in design that you have
Each of the colors have their own personal preference
But yknow combined they love you either way
Violet loves your snake bites <33
Red sometimes pokes at the industrial piercing that you have
Blue finds different designs for your helix piercing
Cherry Red
Your hair is cherry red
You can imagine who's really happy that you changed your hair to that color huh?
Sky:
Colors in your tattoos-
Yall laying together and your arm is exposed?
He’s pulling out paint to go in a fill in the blanks
Goes into extreme detail when painting on your arm
Feels like you deserve only the best
Does get a bit sad when you have to wash it away
Although he doesn’t mind since he gets to redo it
Really wants to match tongue piercings with you tbh
Thinks they’re pretty and bc why not?
He loves the color you chose this time
The baby blue really reminds him of the sky that he was used to seeing back home
Wild:
Probably the only one that actually goes through with it
You have to stop him from going diy everything
Mans lives in the woods half of the time
You know damn well he will forget to clean and sanitize the wounds
To make up for it you probably make him temporary tattoos
LIGHT GREEEEN
Always teases that each strand of your hair is worth 1 rupee
It's actually a really pretty color and when it does fades it goes nicely
Probably the only time you'll let him match with you
You dye a small chuck on his fair to make him happy
Warriors:
Down so bad tbh
First time he spots the tongue piercing when you teased him by sticking your tongue out?
Literally folded so fast
Goes hands first on your face and softly touches the snake bites near your lips
Doesn't pay attention to anything else
Only focuses on making sure he doesn't hurt you when he does messes with the jewels
You have split hair with him
Half side is black and the other is white
Definitely messes up your hair on purpose whenever he sees you perfectly separate them
but eventually does help you part it bc he'll do anything to make you happy

Out of curiosity, beyond LBL Time and Twilight, are any of the other Link's related to one another? Like how some people headcanon Wild is somehow a descendant of either Twilight or Warriors, for instance.
Hmmmm, I’m gonna go with no honestly. As much as I love the idea of some links being related to each other, I love the idea that none of them are related more.
Now twi and Time are def related, but they’re the exception! But to me, Links always seem to be unpredictable. They don’t come from a long line of heroes, they just appear. They appear in castles, noble’s homes, or small farms. They’re unpredictable so that evil can’t find them. And so I love the idea that who they’re related to is also unpredictable. The idea of Wild and Twi being related is fun but I won’t use it, and I LOVE the idea of Minish and Windy being related, but I’m going with the idea that it’s only Time and Twi that are related :)

Honestly, female hero! Reader is so interesting to me. Like;
- would they be more protective of her? Like they might not even be aware of it, just second nature.
- if they were injured how would they react to having to treat her wounds?
- would they be more emotionally open to her? And she becomes their secret keeper? (I have read that men in general tend to be more emotionally open to women)
- would they use her to get shit from gerudo? Or are they still little shits and sneak around gerudo themselves?
- how would they react to female bodily functions and anatomy? They're traveling together so it's normal to see more of that type of stuff, but I can imagine that for most of them it might be a smack to the face again that this is a woman.
- would they treat her like just one of the guys? Would they acknowledge that she's a woman and just be chill about it? Or do they try to sneak in some special treatment as she's the only woman with 9 guys surrounding her.
- if they're away from civilization and have to bathe, how does that go?
- if they were to find out that she was their decendant / successor how would they react?
- etc etc
Just all questions that I love to think about and think about the nuances of it all.
Tumblr media
Ok. I try to keep reader a gender neutral as possible but I've been staring at these in my ask box for a while and I think I finally have the mind the answer them without feeling neaanced.
I did talk about a female reader a while ago. I did a list of headcanons and how Reader would react with each of the boys. You can read that right here.
I do think the Chain would be more protective of her as a whole. Chivalry would run deep in many of their veins. They would let her fight, sure. She's the first they would cover and the first to receive medical attention if she needs it.
Twilight would probably be the first to know when it's the time of the month since he would be able to smell the blood and all but I think the one who handles it the best is Warrior. Warrior traveled with a lot of women soldier and warriors during his adventures. He's not stranger to it and probably ends up having extra in his pack by accident since he never took them out.
They absolutely use her to get into Gerudo Town, but Wild and or Twilight typically goes with her just because there's safety in numbers and all that jazz. And also to keep her in check if she decides to gossip about their resident Link. -.-
They have a strange mix of treating her like of the guys and giving her special treatment. Some guys give her special treatment- others are rougher than they probably should be.
In a bath house though, she obviously gets her own space. In an inn, she shares a room with one of the guys just as the rest. They may be rich but they're cheap enough to admit that they want to save their money. The gentleman with her would just turn around or enter later to give her any privacy she needs and vice versa. No need to make it complicated.
As for the descendant question-.... I actually have request for that. So I will hold out until I can write that out. You'll get that one eventually. XD

Honestly the one thing that really frustrates me about Hyrule Warriors is how they cut Linkle being Link's sister, because otherwise it would have recontextualized Warriors entirely as a character.
This is mainly just headcanon territory, but something always bugged me about him being a knight in training from the get go, mainly because it's usually never any Link's first choice with First, Sky and Wild being the main exceptions (Gaepora took him in, and Gaepora runs the knights academy, makes sense he'd want to join then plus he'd probably want to protect Sun, plus Skylofts knights function differently than Hyrule knights, they don't have the same hierarchy and Skyloft is pretty peaceful before SS truly picks up so again, makes sense he wouldn't have troubles joining, we don't know First's reasons besides him seeing evil on the horizon and deciding if no one's was gonna do anything about it he might as well do it himself, and Wild was basically recruited at a young age for pulling the Master Sword while presumably young, he was never given a choice), we see it with Four, he's a blacksmiths apprentice under his grandfather and we see in his manga him practically baring his teeth at his father he won't become a knight and he doesn't pick up the sword unless really necessary, we see that with Time, he was raised as a Kokiri, he dreamt of adventure already from the drawings we see in his room, but he could always just become an adventurer if he wanted to though of course we see that change with the Hero's Shade, I'll come back to that, Wind? Was content living in Outset with Aryll before Ganon decided to fuck around and found out really hard, Legend was also a blacksmiths apprentice and adventurer and he only takes up knight training in the manga because Sir Raven inspired him, like even if he didn't want to be a knight the training would still serve him well (and lo and behold the advice pays off given all the shenanigans mostly caused by divine beings Legend gets saddled with), Hyrule obviously leaves in a very hostile world so he wouldn't even have ANY time to think about knight training, he's self taught because he'd literally die if he wasn't given monsters need his blood to ressurect Ganon so it's honestly a unique case of technically self defense, either he learned to hunt or he'd remain hunted, Twilight is the same case as Wind's, Ganondorf fucked around and found out with the wrong older sibling's people plus the protagonists heavily implied love interest(s) and got shafted into next week, him and Dusk don't have a personal connection besides Midna for him to stick around much and we see him go back to Ordon, so no knighthood there, so why was Warriors different? What motivated him?
I think Linkle being his younger sister would have been the answer.
Long post ahead, continue under your own risk
I know lots of people characterize Warriors as being of a noble line and joined the knights at the urging of his father, but let's not forget most Links are orphans so thinking Wars is an exception is a pipe dream. So that's out, however, in medieval times knights actually get plenty of benefits since they work mostly for lords, ladies and the local crown, being a knight is synonymous with being a noble or at least having a decent life at the cost of serving someone else and the Hyrulean knights don't really have any requisites before joining (though we do see long lines of knights exist, which some Links are descended from without their knowledge, so it's not farfetched to think that a good chunk of the knights of Hyrule qualify as members of noble houses loyal to the Hyrulean crown, would also explain their why they're ineffective a lot of the time too, if most of them grew noble and Hyrulean isn't war seeking {most of the time} then they wouldn't have any real experience), it would be a good way for Warriors to support himself as he climbs up the ranks, and most importantly, someone else, because he'd need to make that money to feed Linkle if she's his younger sister because most Links who take on elder sibling roles are at their best when trying to protect their younger siblings (Wind with Aryll, Twilight with Collin, to an extent Legend and Gulley, all Links are at their best when fighting/protecting someone else), Linkle could grown up without restrictions and he could support them both, making them work harder than other knights because he's already at a disadvantage.
Making it so he's in the perfect place at the right time to get noticed by Artemis before the War of Ages, and give him a reason to go against orders and fight rather than standby like other traineés, being discovered as the Hero in the process.
And as a result since Mask is in the war too, he gets inspired by Warriors (who as an older brother would definitely just snatch him, Wind, Tetra and heck even the Skull Kid under his wing because no way is he letting children younger than even his own little sister fight alone) and eventually becomes a knight too after presumably stopping his search for Navi or using his knight status to search more effectively, which gives us the Time we see in LU who eventually become the Hero's Shade, which trains Twilight. Because he looked up to Warriors while younger.
I just think it's a huge missed opportunity with a lot of room for angst/hurt comfort/drama, and also opportunities for Warriors, Legend and Wild to bond over not really liking the knights because they've all not likely been treated well by his fellow knights while young even though he himself is one, and that Warriors would absolutely be one of the first to throw hands if he heard another soldier talk badly about any of the Links, in this essay I will-

Hello! I was just wondering: you have the headcanon that Hylia is Legend’s mother, correct?
If yes, could you explain a little bit?
I don’t mean to sound rude I just think it’s a super interesting headcanon and wondered where it came from (I have not played any of Legend’s games- it’s on my to do list tho!)
Okay so!
This isn't so much a headcannon as a fun thing I like to play with. Technically, there's very little in canon about Legend's parents- none I daresay. Of course, if you look to the manga's (which I did before I started playing his games), you do find bit's and pieces about his family thrown in.
There's quite a few references to his family being from a sacred sect of knights:
Tumblr media
And also references to what happened to them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also see through both their lack of existence in the games and also the explanations in the manga that Legend never knew his parents.
Tumblr media
So, while the manga does tell us that Legend's father was a knight and once friends with Aganim (the lead villain of ALTTP), there's very little at all about his mother except for two things: she's described as gentle and she always held out hope that she and her husband could return to the light realm and find their child to be part of his life. Obviously, her wish never came true, and when Legend comes to the dark world, he's told that while at first they resisted evil, they eventually fell to it and became beasts as well one day.
Tumblr media
Which leaves us with nothing but some basic facts:
His family are descended from the knights of Hyrule
His father was a left-handed knight (uncannily a similar description to how Four is spoken of in the manga's as well, but that's not for today)
His mother was a 'gentle lady'
His father had a brother
And that's about it. One can take this a dozen directions. You could say a anyone was his father, and anyone was his mother. In Flight To My Heart, I made it to where an alternate version of Dusk is Legend's mother and Twilight is his Uncle in that world. Now, that was more for funsies and based off of thoughts from my audience, but it still worked out alright and was somewhat believable.
Now, granted, there's the theory that Legend and Fable are siblings, be it twins, half siblings, or whatever have you that it may be. I love this theory, as most folks know. I love this theory a lot and I really enjoy the implications of it: if Legend is Fable's brother, then he's descended from the royal family. If he's from the royal family, then he's Sky's descendant. if he's Sky's descendant, then he's also Sun's. And Sun is Hylia.
I think it started with just having people refer to him as a "child of Hylia" that did it for me. Granted, those people where characters in my ow fics half of the time, but it made me think. What if he was?
I did see the idea explored in "In An Era" by Script_The_Skeleton, but while I may have used it as a throwaway line, I never really tried out writing it until I wrote "Hylia's Child, Hylia's Slave" where having Legend's mother be a goddess was necessary. It was a vent fic meant to help express the powerlessness one can feel under the eye of a mother who seemingly has endless power over them and is impossible to escape from. Hylia, as a goddess, was the optimal choice for that, especially as half the fandom agrees that Legend and Hylia don't get along.
Now, as for how that could work, let's look at Hylia a bit first. Hylia is a goddess, and she incarnated before the beginning of Skyward Sword in order to fight alongside her hero better than she was able to before when Skyloft was first raised. By the time of Breath of the Wild however, it's somewhat hinted that she was no longer incarnating for whatever reason. My theory is that after long enough, when an incarnate died, she determined that Hyrule was strong enough without he immediate power among them and returned to wherever it is that the goddesses all hang out. This would probably be not long before Four's time. In Four Swords, there's something called 'Force' or 'light power' that Link has to collect, and this power is what was left behind when Hylia gave up incarnating, similarly to how the Triforce was created when the Golden Trio departed the earth.
With Hylia returned to the heavens, she was no longer passing her power along through the Hylian line, which is why it's not uncommon that characters that the various heroes meet with over time make reference to Hylians beginning to die out. Unfortunately, their power also began to die out, and by the time of the Sealing War (the war fought to seal Ganon after the death of the Fallen Hero AKA Time) there were precious few Hylians left and very little power, hence, Hylia returned.
Now this is all theoretical, but in my fics, the lore to it is that Hylia returned, taking mortal form, but not incarnating herself exactly. She held the power to shed her form if she wanted, but she didn't. She married and helped to bring Hyrule to strength again. Then of course, she had two children with her husband, twins, and then everything fell apart. In trying to protect her people, evil power overwhelmed her and injured her so that she had to drop her mortal form and return to the place of the goddesses to recover from the attacks by Ganon's servants, leaving behind her kingdom and children to deal with Aganim and Ganon.
Fable and Legend, having suffered as much as they have since a young age, are capable protectors of Hyrule, and Hylia no longer saw a need to return to Hyrule to restore it, what with her children accomplishing the task for her. Instead, she turns her attention to other duties and people.
While we don't see it much in the official Zelda games, Nintendo has shown us that Fable, out of all of the Zeldas, is extremely powerful. As her twin, Legend would bear similar power, thus making them strong enough to take on a lot more than the average Hylian. Honestly, that's probably why I love this idea so much. Dragon Wars and Fierce Deity Time are all well and great, Feral Wild and Wolf Twilight are wonderful, Fairy Hyrule and Godkiller Sky are fantastic, but the thing that will always have my heart is Demi-God Legend, the "average nobody" who can and will unleash a fury like nothing else when he chooses.

Slip of the Tongue
I am so (not) sorry for this. Just recently discovered this LinkedUniverse AU and fell in love with it. And while I can’t draw to save my soul, I can certainly write something.
Hopefully they aren’t too out of character in this...
(also, friendly reminder that my stuff is not beta-read. Expect errors, typos and whatever weird thing I did without realizing)
“I don't know you guys, but the more I try to figure this out, the more it gets complicated...”
The voice that filled the afternoon air was so soft that it went almost unheard due to the incessant sound of pouring rain. It had been a grace that when the downpour started they had been very close to a Stable.
Now they were sitting at one of the small tables, huddling together due to lack of space, and trying to figure out where what piece of what Hyrule went. It was a maddening task, one that they had been trying to tackle since first coming together, and not even their most experienced adventurer was even remotely close to figuring it out.
Hence why Legend was filled with worry, frustration, and almost ready to throw everything up in the air. Table included.
“You think it's complicated?” The young voice belonging to Wind was heavy with deject as he laid the side of his face in a minuscule space of table that was free of supplies, maps, and whatever else they were using at the moment. “I lost track of things the moment I crossed three... worlds? Timelines? Time periods?” At the confusion, he hid his head behind his arms. One hand instantly went to pull at his messy hair. “It just... it makes no sense at all.”
Time couldn't blame the kid. Even he, with the experience of time travel and everything that it implied, was at a loss. Sometimes it was just... portals. Invisible doors that hid themselves in the land, connecting two 'worlds' together in a seemingly seamless way until you walked a bit further and noticed that something should not be where it was, or something was missing from that spot.
And sometimes it was just entire zones thrown into the wrong timeline without so much as a show of light. Warriors had witnessed that sort of thing before, but not to this magnitude. And certainly not without shows of magic lights crossing the lands before it actually happened.
“I think I can use some of the Sheikah Towers to force another scan of the surrounding area.” Wild was staring at his Slate with a gaze so intense that it felt like he was trying to burn the thing out of spite. “Maybe they can pick up some of the... foreign lands? Would be helpful if they picked up these portals, too...”
“That would certainly help,” Twilight muttered. He looked ready to go curl up on the nearest soft surface available and sleep till the next morning. “Then we can know where we are going before we actually get there.”
At his left, Four and Hyrule nodded in agreement. To his right, Sky was already sleeping and blissfully ignorant of the others' struggle. Everyone was slightly frustrated and envious about his ability to fall asleep anywhere, but they had come to accept it after weeks of traveling together. The boy was never really good at handling tiredness like the others could.
“Well, I guess...” Wild mustered up his courage and placed the Sheikah Slate on top of the dozen of maps taking up most of the table. The small screen was displaying the map, in particular of the zone around the stable they were taking shelter in, and he was slowly moving it so that it also encompassed a blue dot. “I guess we can get to the nearby tower and try it out.”
His finger moved across a road, then took a turn into the wilderness and through a thick cluster of trees for a direct path to their destination. “We can go this way and be there in the afternoon if we move out in the morning, but there might be some monsters along the way.” His finger then drew an alternate path, one that winded around hills, streams and the occasional ruin. He looked up at Time, knowing the man was better at deciding what was best for the group as a whole. “This is safer, but unless we get horses or run all the way, it'll take a whole day to get there. Maybe more if we encounter monsters. What do you think, dad?”
After the word 'dad' was out of Wild's mouth, silence descended among the heroes as they just... stared.
Then things happened.
Warrior scrambled for the Sheikah Slate, grabbing it out of Wild's frozen hands and holding it up. He looked red in the face, and his shoulders shook with the effort to keep his laughter contained long enough to take a photo. A soft snap later and he was throwing himself onto the back of his chair, laughing loudly and almost tipping backwards.
Hyrule, having spat water out of his nose after almost chocking on his glass of water, was bent over and trying to survive a coughing fit.
Legend was torn between staring at Wild with wide eyes, staring at Time with amusement, and helping Hyrule not choke by gently patting his back.
Twilight looked stunned for a moment, until a smirk appeared on his lips. It was that sort of mixture between amusement and knowing that sometimes frustrated the hell out of anyone that was on the receiving end.
Sky woke up with a startle due to the boisterous laugh from Warrior. He looked ready to jump into a fight, one hand going to touch the Master Sword's hilt strapped to his back. Until he saw Warrior and relaxed. Then proceeded to look at the others in confusion. “What? What did I miss?”
Four was biting his lip. Probably trying to not smirk as much as Twilight was doing. And he was trying to keep his eyes fixed on the table while his hands idly smoothed one of the maps. All so that he wouldn't see whatever glare Time was throwing at them.
Wind, the most expressive of them all, had the strangest reaction. Instead of showing whatever emotion he was feeling at the moment, he just froze there, mouth agape and doing an impressive imitation of a fish out of the water. The kid must have been really shocked because he wasn't even blinking.
“Oh Hylia above and beyond! Time!” Warrior was still laughing between gasps, one hand pressing on his stomach to ward off a stitch while the other waved the Sheikah Slate in the air. “You... you should see your face!”
Time had no idea how to feel. Part of him was irritated at Warrior's reaction, especially since Wild had troubles opening up with others and would instantly jump back into his shell the moment he felt he did something wrong. But then... then there was that other part of him that he couldn't figure out how it felt because he was still trying to get past the shock of being called 'dad'.
He cast his eye onto Wild and, just like he had guessed, the boy was hiding under his hood, probably feeling horrified and embarrassed at his slip.
This... this had to be corrected immediately.
He placed a hand onto Wild's shoulder and squeezed gently. The gesture meant to draw his attention more than anything else. Time knew that it would take more than a touch to get Wild out of his newly erected barricades.
“Watch,” he mouthed when their eyes locked. He felt a small smile appear on his lips at the sudden curiosity pushing past the fear on Wild's face.
It was a small step, and Time did not waste this chance by lingering. He released Wild's shoulder, poised himself tall against his chair, turned his attention to the still smirking Twilight and smirked himself. “Twilight,” he called. His voice was the epitome of collected calmness despite the playful revenge glinting in his single eye. “Tell your younger brother that he should not laugh at the expenses of his own father.”
The effect was immediate.
Twilight snorted, almost chocking on air as he tried to not laugh himself raw.
Warriors lost his balance and ended up on the floor with his own chair.
Legend lunged over the table, grabbing the now flying Slate before it could crash somewhere. A moment later and he was the one snapping a photo out of Warrior's sprawled form.
Sky looked more lost than when he woke up, turning confused eyes around until he met with Hyrule's, who waved a hand in the air and mouthed a 'tell you later' to him between coughs.
“Does that mean I'm the little brother then?” Wind's voice came from somewhere in the background. He sounded confused, but also elated. “Cool!”
Four looked like he had lost his personal battle and was now laughing into his folded arms. One of his hands was frantically slapping the table's surface in a vague semblance of what he had been previously doing.
Satisfied, Time looked back at Wild and was happy to notice that he had stopped trying to merge with his chair. He still looked troubled, though, so he gave him a soft smile. One that Malon elected as the most beautiful due to, in her own words, 'being full of kindness and love'.
“Don't worry,” he whispered. “I don't mind.”
Wild's own shy smile was something he found treasuring.

I'd love to hear your surname headcanons for the boys!
Surname headcanons coming right up!
Sky = Link Harkin
Harkin is derived from Harkinian, which is the name of the King of Hyrule from the CDI games. Before Wind Waker, it was the only surname we had for the Royal Family and was often used in fanworks as Zelda’s last name. Making a derivative of it Sky’s last name is a good tribute to it and allows me to give tribute to him being the origin of the royal bloodline without naming him any of the later royal last names.
Four = Link Smith
This one is pretty obvious. He’s a blacksmith, so his last name reflects that.
Time = Link Tree-Lon or Link Forester
Time wasn’t born with a surname that he remembers, so I imagine he got to chose his last name. I am partial to Link Forester, as many fics before BOTW made that Link’s default last name.
However, in CTB, his last name is Tree-Lon. Many people think Tree is a reference to being from the forest, but it’s actually a reference to the Deku Tree. He then hyphenated it with Malon’s last name so that everyone would know he was with the Lon Lon family.
Legend = Link Smithson --> Link Alphon
Legend’s last name was originally Smithson, as he was from a line of blacksmiths. However, after his uncle’s death and his second attempt of continuing his blacksmith apprenticeship (ALBTW), he decided to change his last name to better reflect the new him. Alphon is, of course, his uncle’s name.
Hyrule = Link Wayman
Hyrule 100% does not have a last name for most of his life. However, he traveled a lot and often revisited many places over and over again. The villagers would differentiate him from others by calling him Link the Wayman (and variations thereof) until Hyrule just started to introduce himself as such.
Twilight = Link O’Lon
Twilight is descendant from Time, and is therefore part of the Lon Lon family. By the time he is born, the last name O’Lon would have been adopted and used for members of the Lon Lon clan.
Wind = Link Outset or Link Windsor
This can go either way, depending on whether the people of Outset Island had last names before the Great Sea became more connected or not.
If they did, they I like Windsor as his last name as it hearkens back to his hero title (and when I was originally trying to come up with everyone’s surnames months ago, I wanted their hero title in their surname to better keep track of who was who).
But if the people of Outset didn’t have last names before the Great Sea became more connected and everyone moved to New Hyrule, then everyone whose family had once been from Outset would make it their last name. I can imagine Wind introducing himself as Link of Outset Island, which would be shorten to Link Outset.
Warriors = Link Walton and Link Harkinian
If you read my fic, you know exactly why there’s an “and” there.
Basically, Warriors is a bastard child, so he goes by his mother’s last name of Walton. However, his father is the head of the Knights of Hyrule, which means that he would get the clan last name should he ever be legitimized.
Wild = Link Wylder
I know this isn’t clever, but what can I say? His hero title really fits him. However, I draw the line at people just calling him “Link Wild.” Like, c’mon guys. At least give it a funky spelling.
(Bonus) Spirit = Link Macaryll
Again, this makes sense if you read my fic.
Spirit is descendant from Wind’s sister, Aryll. When they family first moved to New Hyrule, they changed their last name from Outset to avoid being confused for everyone else originally from the island. Aryll was the matriarch of the family at the time, so the family name was changed in her honor.

Got any good wind headcanons to warm my heart? I’m new to the fandom and I love that feisty boy with my whole heart.
(I completely forgot this was in my inbox, so sorry 😅)
Ahh, the Windy boy! I think he's my favorite to write after Wild. of course you can have some headcanons :)
To an extent, he is the one who handled his journeys the best. Mostly because he has a competent adult to handle medical decisions for him, who made him go to a therapist
He has so many dads. He just has that vibe about him that makes all the older men around him to think "Hmmm. Son." and adopt him. Even if they are reluctant, it happens. If they aren't old enough to be a father figure, they automatically become an older brother figure. He just looks at them like OwO and it's all over for them.
He can't be intimidating. He tries, hard, but it'll be a few years before he can really be threatening. If he's angry it's all ÒmÓ
Wind looks up to the other heroes a lot. After a few months, he mostly got over his hero worship, but he still admires to them.
He's closest with Warriors, and makes it obvious. Twilight is a little jealous, as Twilight likes to collect younger siblings, but he has Wild, who's already a handful and a half, so he can't really complain
He might be closest with Warriors, but he admires Four the most. It started off because Four is the closest in age to himself and also shorter than him, but still managed to get respect and show that someone like Wind can be competent. From there it just grew. He had a bit of puppy-love type crush on Four for a while, but grew out of it, especially after he realized that he was likely descended from the smithy somehow. Now sees him as just a brother.
Just... Four and Wind being close. I wish there was more content about the two of them
Speaking of crushes!! If he ever met Riju he would have a crush on her. 100%. It would never work out for so many reasons, but he totally would.
And speaking of descendants- Warriors is Wind's great great grandnephew or something like that. Arryl's great great grandson. No one realizes this until Wind goes to Warriors' era for the War of Eras. Wind keeps it to himself, though.
He's about 19 or 20 when he participates in the War.
Speaking of- Warriors and Time were pretty good at keeping information about the war from him. He knew that the three of them had met up somehow in their past- his future- but had no idea in what circumstances, or how. When he finds out it's a war, he's a little salty that they didn't tell him. He thinks a heads up would have been nice. In return, he refuses to tell them how he knows the two of them during the war. It infuriates them to no end, while Wind is just reveling in the chaos.
The other Heroes train him. It's mainly Warriors and Time for swordsmanship, but everyone pitches in somehow. They all train with each other, but it's different with Wind. As the youngest, they feel a sort of obligation to pass along their knowledge to him. It's like- there are certain fighting techniques that are kept inside families, carefully crafted skills and moves that are passed down from parent to child. Many of the other heroes didn't have anyone to teach them, and if they did, they took those skills and improved them. (There's a certain power up you get when you become a hero chosen by the gods... You just sort of automatically get an upgrade. It's hard to tell when comparing the Chain, as they all have it)
Anyways, they pass those skill and moves on him. Usually you would only teach an apprentice or your own children. (This is just some of my general headcanons about the LOZ universe. It's part of why Time was so regretful about not being about to pass on his skills. He didn't have time to teach his children, so he stuck around to teach Twilight.) But the hero's spirit draws the chain together. They all immediately feel a sort camaraderie for each other, even if it takes a little while to grow into feeling like a family.
It turns into a game. They all drag up the most obscure and archaic knowledge they have. Legend teaches him how to identify and sense magic items. Warriors and Hyrule teach him how to heal (non-magically). Hyrule and Wild drag him out to the forest/desert/tundra/whatever to teach him woodlore; what plants are good to eat, how to track animals and people, how to build a shelter, ect. Four teaches him the basics of blacksmithing. From Wild, he learns to cook, although to... limited success, but at least Wind knows how to make soup without ruining it now. Sky teaches Wind how to truly ride the winds with his Deku Leaf, as he does with his sailcloth (Wild joins in on this lesson with his paraglider, on the side of the student)
Wind returns the favor with his own abilities and skills he's picked up.
He can't stand the cold. He could be sitting next to the fire, drowning in heavy winter clothes and Twilight's furs, cuddling Legend's fire rod, and still be miserable.
On the flip side, he handles the heat better than the rest of them. He knows the best ways to cool down. He like the humidity better than the dry heat of the dessert, but as long as he has proper clothing, he handles it the best out of the chain (disregarding magical items, like Wild's sapphire circlet and what ever Legend has for the heat. Those are cheating.)
I'm torn between thinking he gets migraines from head injuries, (He gets thrown into... a lot of walls) or him having cartoon bone disease, where he can get squished in any way and just walk it off.
He has the best balance because he's used to keeping his balance on ships. (Accepting the first day after getting off a ship, which is an adjustment period)
He's gotten scurvy before. It's not common in his era, as people are aware of it, and ways to combat it have been developed. But on his first journey, when he was traveling alone, he sort of forgot about it? He's hoesntly a little embarrassed about it.

💘 FAVORITE ZELDA SHIP(S)?
READY FOR SOMETHING KINDA OUTTA THE BLUE? Japas and Mikau. That stoner bassist has it bad for Mikau, you can't change my mind.
Also, Link and Midna, their chemistry is super fun and she would totally top.
🐦 ANY OPINIONS OR HEADCANON(S) ABOUT A CERTAIN ZELDA RACE?
IIIII'm under the persuasion that the Twili are descendants of the Sheikah. We see a striking and familiar eye symbol a few times with the Fused Shadow and in Midna's Zant's throne room.
Tumblr media
The fact that the "dark interlopers" operated in shadow with black magic. Zant, at one point, describes their tribe as people who mastered the arts of magic who had been locked away and regressing at the fault of the "do-nothing" Royal Family. He could be referring to Midna and her predecessors--and probably is--but I always took that as a slight against the Royal Family from the world of light. By the time Ocarina of Time occurs, most of the history of the Sheikah tribe had been snuffed out and purposefully hidden in places that only people with privileged knowledge--or in the case of Professor Shikashi, people who are old enough to remember--to know. We know that Twilight Princess comes after, and there's zero mention of the Sheikah. Some people argue that there's a connection between the Twili and the Gerudo, like how Zant appears to wear a symbol resembling the Gerudo's cobra insignia and especially since Midna refers to losing their ancestor's king to the greed of seeking power. But, I just don't think she's referring to Ganondorf, because if there's one thing the man is loyal to, outside of his greed that is, it's his lineage. He honors where he came from and his history at all times, we see it on his person -- including a depiction of Link engraved in his armor. If the man can honor a long history with someone he considers a sworn enemy, I just don't think he'd turn his back on his own people (the people he actually aligns with) not yet, anyways, he hasn't become that far gone by that point.
Tumblr media
As for Zant's garb, he says he went and found himself a god, right? Surely he'd honor the very power that granted him ownership of both the Light and Shadow worlds. After all, I just established how attached Ganondorf seems to be towards his origins. "If there is anything you desire, I shall desire it too." Oh, also, Midna is surprised by just how powerful the Fused Shadow really is, and yet Breath of the Wild provides us with the knowledge that the Sheikah have always had access to devastating magic and technology. If the Twili are related to the Sheikah, then this isn’t necessarily a surprise.  I can go on, but I think I've made my point haha.
👊 FAVORITE ZELDA VILLAIN/BOSS?
I bet you'll never guess.
Okay, outside of Ganondorf, I'm very much attached to the OG GIANT MOMMY, Twinrova. I think she's a creative character with so much potential and I wish she'd come back. God, now there's a character I have a shitton of headcanons for. But as for bosses that I love to fight the most, it's Bongo-Bongo. I'm not sure if it's the drums, since I'm learning to play, or the Amnesia-esque grotesque design, or just the fact that I'm a sick bastard.
Odalwa is a ton of fun, and so is Goht. I'm really in love with Majora as a villain, the design of the model during each boss fight takes up such a significant space in my head. I have so much love. One day I'll share all those cool headcanons.
Ghirahim is the only redeeming quality of Skyward Sword. I had to say it, cuff me. I'm ready to go to stupid brat-baby jail. 😔
🙊 UNPOPULAR ZELDA OPINIONS?
I'm being a bit dramatic when I say he's the only redeeming quality of Skyward Sword. Groose is great, I love Impa's twist. The dungeon design is gorgeous. But that game struck a nerve with me the moment I popped it in my Wii on launch. The disc didn't work. Then the motion controls constantly failed me. Then I died in the last dungeon and kept respawning in the death barrier and had to restart the entire thing, the linear gameplay and lack of exploration was extremely unsatisfying, Link looks really smeary, Demise's role completely undermines Ganondorf's. There's so much I can poop my pants over with this game, it has left a really bad taste in my mouth and I respect people that enjoy it, and even welcome the people who got into the series because of that game! No hard feelings or anything, I'm just a bratty little shitbaby that can't handle when my Zelda game isn't Ocarina of Time hahaha!

Signs
Hi all! I hope you enjoy part 4 of my Hero of Wild series. For more information on the signs, please click here if you’re interested.
I just wanted to be upfront and say that this is in no way an exact portrayal of ASL or the culture surrounding it. Hylians are fictional and would therefore have different signs. I based it off of vocabulary from ASL. I know basic sign to help my fellow peers in Special Education, but I am not fluent and am only basing it loosely off of ASL and putting a twist on it I think Wild’s Hyrule would have developed over the centuries. I of course don’t know Wild’s Hyrule’s sign, so these are just my personal headcanons for how I think it would be. Thank you!
~
“I think we need to make name signs for ourselves.” Twilight pitched his idea while Sky was off distracting Wild. They were currently in Sky’s Hyrule on the surface. Wild’s first time going through a portal went well enough. He went through last with his hand on his slate. Twilight assumed it felt a little bit like a trap, that a group he didn’t know very well told him to go through a mysterious portal. Wild seemed used to strange magic at least, or whatever his slate was. Wild had told Twilight it wasn’t magic but Twilight had a hard time believing that.
It seemed their new member was similar to their traveler in the fact they had to do their best to keep them from running away to explore. Still they both often ran off the path when they saw something interesting to them, Four and Wind joining them sometimes.
Twilight had told Sky his idea of giving signs to each of them for Wild to communicate better and quicker. If he needed a specific item from someone during a fight, quick and efficient would be key. Not to mention the kid shouldn’t have to be forced to finger spell one of their names everytime. Sky smiled and told him what a great idea that was, and that he would give Wild a miniature tour while Twilight brought it up to the group. He didn’t want to spring it upon both Wild and the other Links at the same time, that just seemed like a recipe for disaster.
“Name signs? You mean in sign language?” Legend asked curiously.
“Yeah for Wild. It makes no sense to have the kid continuously fingerspell out names.” Twilight confirmed glancing over to Time.
“I’ve been meaning to ask about that. Since our nicknames are more based on nature or objects, why doesn’t Wild just use his signs? Why doesn’t he just sign Sky?” Warriors asked carefully.
“That’s a slippery slope.” Four spoke for Twilight. “That could cause confusion based on context. It would be easier to assign specific names.”
“That sounds cool but how do we do that?” Wind asked with a tilted head.
“Well when I was working with my grandfather, a girl my age and her family came in. She couldn’t hear very well so her family learned sign. Her father talked to my grandfather about it. Apparently it’s easiest if you take a personality or a defining characteristic, like a personality or hair color or something, and have a twist to it. Her name was Lily, so they signed the sign for a lily flower with the sign for I think happy in front of it? I don’t remember very well but it’s like that.” Four spoke up. The others nodded in interest and began whispering about what their signs could be.
“That’s a good idea. Should we just do our hero titles and a defining trait?” Warriors asked.
“That sounds fine, but we should probably ask Wild what he wants since he will be the main person using them.” Time spoke up, to which the group all agreed.
“Okay well I sent Sky off with him. I didn’t want to spring this upon everyone at once.” Twilight stated, barely resisting beaming when Time nodded in approval.
“Good idea, Pup.” Time smiled as the group descended into evening chatter once again. It hadn’t been a hard day of travel, but it had been longer than usual to find a space Sky deemed safe enough. For now the group settled down for the evening.
~
Wild didn’t know why Sky was distracting him but he played along for now, doing well to hide his nerves. Maybe he had done something wrong? Something the group hadn’t liked? Sky seemed too nice to be leading him to his execution, but maybe that was the point. Sky seemed too nice in general. He was far too warm and accepting to him, especially right away. He wasn’t an idiot, he knew the others stared at his scars when they thought he wasn’t looking. Had the Master Sword told Sky of his failure? Perhaps the group knew of him dying 100 years ago, and they were going to take care of him before it happened again.
It was a shame. Wild liked them so far, especially Twilight. He seemed so warm and willing to help. And Hyrule seemed similar to Wild in their love of exploring. And Four was accepting of almost anyone, no matter what. Was it all a facade? Knowing Wild’s luck it certainly was. He didn’t think they were Yiga, the Master Sword soothed those fears and told Wild to trust them without using any words at all. Yet that was before they truly knew him. Had the Master Sword changed its mind?
If he was ambushed by the very group he was supposed to trust, fellow Heroes of Courage, he knew a part of him would die. Even if he didn’t know them very well, they were a part of his past, present, and perhaps his future. Incarnations of the same soul passed down and changed for millenia. If they deemed Wild unworthy, he would move on, but a deep part of him would remember and always feel pain that his own past incarnations hated him.
Still for now he listened to Sky talk about his Hyrule. If he wasn’t so deep in his thoughts he would find it more fascinating, but he had plenty to bring back to Zelda. If he made it back to her. Another wave of fear swept over him. What if the group was the only way to get to other worlds? He couldn’t make portals appear on a whim! According to Time, Hylia herself even seemed to struggle to put them in the right place! If they ambushed him, he would fight and he would run. But would he be trapped in a distant Hyrule forever, centuries apart from the Goron, Rito, Gerudo, Zora, and most importantly Zelda? If he had no way to return to his Hyrule that he knew and loved, he would be trapped in this warped reality, forever hunted by the real Link who lived here. Leaving Zelda to fix the kingdom he had a hand in ruining.
Wild (perhaps he wouldn’t have that name for long now, although he truly loved it), barely noticed them approaching their campsite for the evening. Wild readied his hand to launch to his slate. He wasn’t going down without a fight, but he would never attack these fellow heroes first. Wild was met with the curious eyes of the other Links around what would soon be a cooking fire.
This was it.
“So, Wild.” Twilight spoke up. Oh Hylia, why did it have to be Twilight? The very man who offered comfort after his first nightmare within the group. Had he forsaken Hylia that much? “We were talking, and we thought maybe you could teach us some more of your sign? Since it’s changed so much over the years. And maybe we could come up with name signs for each other to make communicating easier?”
Oh.
~
Wild looked genuinely shocked at the boys wanting to learn his language, which made Twilight feel far more sad than he was expecting. Between his distrust of any other Hylians and his shock at someone wanting to communicate with him in his own way, it was clear that there had been many people who had hurt Wild.
‘You don’t have to.’ Wild signed, snapping out of his shock.
“We want to Wild.” Wind reassured, along with the rest of the group. Wild could feel his face warming up, not knowing what to say. He thought they were going to hunt him!
“Um. Well we were thinking you could teach us how to say our hero titles, and then we could all choose a personality or physical trait that defines us? And we could combine them to make the name sign? It’s completely up to you, it’s just an idea.” Twilight pitched.
‘...are you sure?’ Wild signed hesitantly. He didn’t want to make any trouble within the group.
“Yeah Wild! It sounds fun anyway!” Wind exclaimed, attempting to dial up his excited tone to assure Wild they were happy to do it.
‘Okay. Thank you.’ Wild signed as heartfelt as he could. The rest of the team smiled at the boy’s acceptance.
“Are you okay with the idea we had to make them?” Time asked, to which Wild simply nodded. “Okay, we’ll have you combine them, but let us know if it’s too complicated and we’ll choose something else.” Wild nodded at Time once again, signaling that was fine with him.
“Okay! Who wants to go first?” Twilight clapped his hands, glancing around the group members.
“I can. I’m fine with anything that’s not insulting.” Legend volunteered, tacking on the end when he noticed Warriors’ large smile.
“Well that’s easy! You have a pink strand of hair, and your name is Legend! Let’s combine those!” Wind said excitedly. Legend simply shrugged in acceptance.
“Wild, how do you say those?” Wild paused for a moment. Legend was a person and not a fairy tale, so he should use the sign that leaned more towards legacy and not stories. He placed his left hand, the index finger straight up, the middle finger at an angle while the rest of his fingers curled down. Making a downward stroking potion with the curved finger on his chin, mouthing pink along with the sign. Wild then formed his hands into curved triangles, pinching his fingers together. Placing his hands in front of him with the left above the right, making two motions to shift the hands from the left side of his body to the right. To his surprise the rest of the group copied it to the best of their ability, including Legend who didn’t even seem to want to participate in this.
“I’m fine with that.” Legend stated simply, confirming the sign as his. No one brought up him practicing it close to his chest for far longer than necessary.
“I assume mine is going to be Time and Old Man?” Time asked in amusement.
“Nah, we can do better than that.” Warriors smirked. “How about your ocarina? We could combine Time and music?” Warriors pitched. Time nodded, he enjoyed that well enough. He silently appreciated that it also connected him to the Kokiri.
Wild nodded and mouthed time as he moved his right hand like a dial before shifting to the sign for music, moving his right hand in a sweeping motion above his left arm cradled to his chest. The rest of the group copied, Time nodded.
“If we’re in battle, you can sign these with one hand right? The rest of us should be able to know what you’re referring to.” Four asked Wild, who smiled and nodded.
“Let’s do Four next!” Sky spoke up.
“Isn't the sign for Four still just four fingers held up?” Four asked curiously.
“Ugh that’s boring. What if you’re ‘Colors’ instead because of your tunic?” Wind questioned.
“Wind! Don’t call the Hero of Four Swords’ title boring!” Sky chided, although Four looked oddly pleased at the idea of being deemed ‘Colors’ in sign.
“I like it. Maybe with metal or blacksmithing?” Four nodded to Wild. Wild’s nose scrunched up thought, before nodding brightly. ‘Color’ he mouthed as he spread his left palm out, facing his chin as he tapped the index and middle finger against it. The rest of the group copied. Wild then moved the ‘metal’ which shifted to the hand being in a hook shape, tapping the index finger on his chin once again.
“That’s easy enough.” Four’s small smile had grown the slightest bit wider at his sign. Four was sure it wasn’t as sophisticated as a group of people who were more involved with sign could come up with, but this worked perfectly for their new team.
“Me next!” Wind waved his hand. “Well there’s wind and then… something with music! No! Something with boats! Or pirates! No the sea! That incorporates it all!” Wind yelled out his ideas in rapid succession. Wild waited until the teen finally settled on wind and sea. Wild bit his lip. That would be sort of hard to combine. He used the sign for ‘Sea’, the left palm spread out and facing to the side, tapping his index finger on his chin. Although instead of finishing the sign in the normal fashion, he shifted it to the sign for Wind, keeping his palms spread and facing each other. He then moved his hands in two little circles.
“That's perfect!” Wind exclaimed while copying the motion many more times.
Wild pointed to Warriors next.
“Oh, me next?” Warriors asked. Wild nodded, he had a good idea for Warriors. He moved his right hand in a curly zigzag with three curves. “Does that not combine anything?” Warriors asked, seemingly hiding his disappointment that it seemed not much thought was out in it. Wild bit his lip, taking out the journal Four had given him for talking around the campfire when his signs were too complicated.
‘It combines the sign for sword fight and soldier with the sign for writing. You seem to like writing and drawing in your books. Do you want a new one?’ Wild wrote on one of the pages before passing it to Warriors. Realization dawned on him as he read the pages.
“Oh! Sorry Wild I was just confused. I thought it was just a sign for sword. No, I like it!” Warriors smiled at Wild as he passed the book around for the others to see. There were a couple comments about how it fit well and how Wild was good at this, which made Wild blush lightly.
“How about me?” Sky asked after a moment of silence, being careful not to speak over anyone else.
“What do you want your characteristic to be?” Four asked. “Maybe warm? You have a very warm personality.” Four smirked at Sky’s blush.
“I was thinking maybe red? My loftwing that I told you about is crimson colored.” Sky asked Wild. “If not that's okay I can think of something else.” Wild smiled and shook his head, this one would be easy! He mouthed ‘red’, stroking his chin twice with his left index finger, the rest of  his fingers curled in a fist. He then mouth ‘sky’ as he swept his arm grandly upwards towards the trees above.
“That’s pretty! Will you understand it if we use a smaller motion for the sky sign? Just if we’re in a rush?” Sky questioned. Wild thought for a minute. It was slightly similar to other signs in different contexts if the motions were smaller, but having the red in front of it would solidify what they were saying. After a few moments of thought, Wild nodded.
“For mine, maybe we should do what we did for Four and not use my hero title? Just because my name is already confusing sometimes with Hyrule the land and Hyrule me.” Hyrule spoke up, looking slightly sheepish.
“If that’s what you're comfortable with ‘Rule.” Legend reassured. “How about Traveler?”
Wild started furiously scribbling before Hyrule could confirm that he liked that name, everyone pausing to let Wild finish.
‘I don’t know traveler in sign, I can’t remember and no one ever taught me again, it’s just blank. I would usually just say yes to being a traveler or say I’m a wanderer. Sorry Hyrule.’ As if to express his apology more clearly, Wild had drawn a large sad face next to the text he had written. Wild always wrote extremely small in his book, as if not wanting to overuse the gift Four had given him. It was a nice change of pace to see something larger on the pages.
“That’s okay, Wild! I’m okay with Wanderer too!” Hyrule laughed. “What about the other sign?”
“How about magic? No one’s better at magic than you ‘Rule.” Twilight suggested, causing Hyrule to burn red.
“I mean I just needed it for my journey. It’s fun though! I like being able to take out a bunch of monsters at the same time-” Wild tuned out Hyrule’s explanation to think of how to combine those signs. He tried to make them easy and short, for both battle and for conversation. He waited until the group quieted down, turning their attention to him. He mouthed ‘wanderer’ as he swayed his right index finger back and forth. He would replace the beginning of the magic sign with that, instead of clenching his fingers together. He then mouthed ‘magic’, quickly clenching a fist and releasing it with flare, as if casting a spell  on the ground below.
“I love it!” Hyrule beamed as the others repeated the sign.
“My turn I suppose?” Twilight turned to Wild, who was writing on the page again.
‘I can’t say twilight, but I can say dusk.’ The page said.
“That’s alright.” Twilight reassured.
“What’s his other name going to be?” Wind asked the group.
“Country?”
“Goats?”
“Rancher?” Wild pondered all of these suggestions. Nothing quite fit together. An idea struck Wild’s brain like lightning when he had his royal claymore out in a storm.
‘Wolf.’ Wild wrote in large letters on half of the page so everyone could see. The others looked slightly confused, but Wild simply pointed to the pelt on Twilight’s shoulders.
“Wild, are you sure?” Twilight asked, gritting his teeth slightly.
“What Wild says goes. Besides, I think it suits you just fine, Pup.” Time spoke over the others, enunciating the word ‘Pup’ with all the teasing venom he had, causing the group to roar with laughter. Twilight couldn’t believe this! Betrayed! By his own mentor! Although all of Twilight’s rage dissipated when he looked over to see Wild silently shaking with laughter. As usual the boy made no noise with his mouth, but he didn’t have to. Twilight could see the joy on his face. It struck him that he had never seen Wild laugh like that before, but it seemed natural, like he should be doing it all the time. Twilight supposed if this was the result he didn’t mind the sign so much. Besides, he secretly liked it anyway.
Wild waited for the group to calm down before making Twilight’s sign. He mouth ‘wolf’ as he formed what looked to be a snout in front of his face, keeping his thumb and index finger together, he made a circle and brought it down. Twilight actually really liked his sign, he thought it reflected him very well.
‘Thank you.’ Wild said again once they were done assigning names, being met with a chorus of ‘no problem’ and ‘of course’. Wild started to stand to make the cooking fire for dinner tonight, committing all the signs to his memory. Ever since he had joined, he had taken over the cooking in the evenings. In the mornings a lot of people did their own thing. Some made themselves a full meal, while others just ate an apple on the road later when they were actually hungry.
“Wait, Wild!” Wind piped, causing Wild to freeze. Oh no had he forgotten someone? That would be so embarrassing.
“You forgot your name sign!” Sky finished. Wild’s nose scrunched up once again, picking up the journal once again.
‘I can just refer to myself?’ Wild was confused as to why he needed one. The others seemed to be alright at talking, but maybe Wild was mistaken.
“Well yeah, but you gave us all names, it’s our turn.” Hyrule began.
“And at this point it might as well be a team thing.” Four finished. Wild’s brain went blank for a moment. A team thing? He was a part of the team now? Officially? Wild didn’t expect anything to solidify that, he was just expecting to continue to trail along like a lost puppy. Wild bit back a smile and nodded.
“Okay we have to make this one really good.”
“It at least has to involve nature.”
“And destruction.”
“Really Legend?”
“What? You saw how the guy fought that Lynel. Make his name fire or something.”
“No! It has to be something cool like morning wood or something.”
“No no no no no no no no no.”
“What why? It’s cool?”
“Wind, no!”
“But why?”
“I’ll explain when you’re older.”
“Oh fuck you!”
“What about fire and grass?” Twilight called out, halting all conversations. The group looked at him curiously. “It shows his Wild title and his Hyrule. Also he lit a shit ton of grass on fire when we met him. The group all nodded, deeming this title fighting of their new member.
“Is that okay, Wild?” Sky asked gently. Wild nodded enthusiastically. Grass and fire, some his favorite things. He mouth ‘grass’ as he tucked his thumb against his right palm, sweeping his index finger over the side of his mouth once before dragging it down in front of his chest in a circle to imitate flames.
“Perfect!” Twilight resisted clapping his hand on Wild’s shoulder. The rest of the group was fine with casual touching, Twilight had to keep reminding himself that Wild was different in that aspect. That was fine, they were figuring it out one by one.
The group settled down once again to chat while Wild cooked dinner, signing as best as they could as they talked. Even though Wild could hear them fine, it was good practice. Overall, it looked to be a peaceful evening.
“Wait, can someone do the signs for me again?”
Thank you for reading! Once again, for more information on the signs, please click here if you’re interested.

DAILY BRAINROT
Since color-coding was a success, it shall continue. :)
I'm back on my Four Swords nonsense because I was struck with inspiration earlier today and wrote out about half of Shadow's chapter of my disability AU. In the book, his physical body is powered by the dark mirror, so I figured it would make the most sense if the cause of his problems was that there just isn't enough magic to power every single part of his body correctly.
Having a body took a lot more work than it did in the past. He was tired all the time, even after he'd managed to sleep through the entire night or day. Eating and drinking were harder than he remembered them being because he had little to no appetite and couldn't remember to do those things without reminders. And the worst part, in his opinion, was that he got sick much more easily than the others. Consequences of having a magically-constructed immune system, Vio had said. Something about how people weren't really meant to be made out of magic.
Changing topics. I read a fic the other day about Sky and I had the realization that technically, if Sky dies, there's nothing preventing Sun from establishing her bloodline. The royal family is descended from the first Zelda, as far as I know, there's nothing that says Sky actually had anything to do with it.
I don't think this is something that would necessarily be obvious, especially to the Chain, but they're not that stupid, so I think they could figure it out. To be fair, most of them aren't important enough to the timeline that anything drastic would occur if they died, but my point still stands.
So now I have this horribly angsty idea that perhaps Sky has some dreams that reassure him that he isn't required for history to remain functional, so when they're in a tight spot he throws caution into the wind because it's either him or someone else going down, and he doesn't think the other person will survive.
Adding on to that, I want to do some fact-checking and figure out if anyone else in the Chain has prophetic abilities because I could make the situation so much worse by giving the someone else dreams about Sky sacrificing himself.
Maybe someone needs to take the angst stick away from me, so I don't accidentally kill more blorbos than I should. /joking
There was this other fic I read about Legend being able to go inside people's dreams, and it was very cool. But the point is that Sky has somewhat... gross... prophetic dreams in it, but they range from "oh no, this person is going to die" to "the milk on the kitchen table is spoiled." This is now my new favorite Sky headcanon.
Sorry I didn’t answer this one last night, I was really exhausted and I wanted to make sure I had enough energy to read all of it!!
Ooooh that does make sense! That’s also really cool and I like it a lot
I was thinkin about that the other day too. I think literally any of them can die at this point with zero consequence except for maybe Time, because Twilight’s existence kinda depends on him and Malon (if Jojo kills any of them I will fall to my knees and scream at the sky and weep)
OW???? I could be so wrong but I think Time also has prophetic dreams…? I think I remember someone saying that somewhere. I’m only halfway through oot and had to stop playing for a bit so I’ve forgotten if he does or not
ALSKDDK SKY GETTING SOME PROPHETIC DREAM BUT ITS JUST “an acorn will fall on your head. you will be powerless to stop it.”
i love messing around with Sky’s dreams, I one time wrote a fic where he saw the future but like, the future of HYRULE (the kingdom) and so he saw the calamity and he watched Wild die. It was Wild’s past but literally everything is the future for Sky since he’s first on the timeline. It’s just fun to fuck around with prophetic shit >:)
THANK YOU FOR THE DAILY BRAINROT!!!!!

hey guys sorry about the couple of days i wasn’t posting!! this thing took a little longer than i thought-- but yeah! i’ve seen other artists draw their own interpretations of all the incarnations of Links, and i finally decided to draw the versions i’ve made up together with a friend of mine all in one place! get a load of these fools
tumblr wouldn’t let me post these in rows without them getting super blurry so there’s gonna be closeups, headcanons, etc under the cut
Tumblr media
Time (Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask):  - post-majora’s mask but he still has the scars from oot(dont ask me how idk either)  - Really Fucked up. Very Strange Grandpa  - despite actually having had the years to grow up this time he still acts like a kid  - idk i can’t really describe him but he’s just been through so much stress his only remaining emotion is essentially just “:)”  - he’s gone back to hyrule and is just kinda wandering around he got those two shoulder pads as a gift and they’re based off of the ones he has as a ghost  - the gauntlets are redesigned golden gauntlets only because i forgot what they looked like  - he’s missing his right eye from a wolfos and lost his finger when Ganon slapped his sword out of his hand also he has goron tattoos on his shoulders  - headcanon that he’s Zelda’s twin brother but they just never were told about it
Tumblr media
Sky (Skyward Sword):  - he’s got Sleepy Bitch Disease  - just wants to rest...... please let him Sleep For Once  - he gets very snappy and Rude, especially when he’s tired but he’s pretty patient and sweet around people he’s fond of  - headcanon that he has some form of asthma(because in game hes like constantly gasping for air)  - after the events of his game hes just Tuckered Out and just wants to sleep for the rest of his life  - i didn’t really give him any redesigns, just let him keep his skyloft outfit  - his scars are from demise and ghirahim(jerks)
Tumblr media
Twi (Twilight Princess):  - COUNTRY BOYYYY I LOVE YOUU  - furry boy go awooo  - amazing with animals and kids but doesn’t really cope too well in social situations because he gets Nervous  - GAY. I WONT ACCEPT ANY OTHER ANSWER  - headcanon that he’s the direct descendant of Time  - goes back to his Farming Ways after the War and just chills with the rest of Ordon village  - most of his scars are from those stupid Ghost Rats but he also has some others from Ganondorf
Tumblr media
Wild (Breath of the Wild):  - ‘scuse me everyone certified ROWDY BOY comin through  - he seems very normal from a distance but as soon as you get close to him you will realize that you just found a Raccoon  - *sees anything* oh! yum!  - really, really loves cooking and is actually really good at it even if his ingredients come from questionable locations  - headcanon that along with every other memory he lost, he also forgot most of what was pressuring him before his Death and is now completely unhinged and will not stop for anyones social standards  - he has a couple scars from being blasted by guardians but honestly most of his other ones are because he just really loves rolling down mountainsides
Tumblr media
Warrior (Hyrule Warriors):  - hh,,, Anxious boy :(  - he just really wants approval and he damn well deserves it  - when he first got appointed as the hero of whatever and got the master sword he was honestly starting to get a bit cocky  - but then Cia Promptly ripped all of that confidence and Rude Boy Behaviour out of him and he became :( again  - he could speak beforehand but he got an injury during the battles and is now rendered practically mute  - has a couple major scars underneath his scarf/tunic but he managed to keep his face mostly unscathed somehow
Tumblr media
Albi (A Link Between Worlds/Tri Force Heroes):  - Shy,,,, doesnt like Attention  - honestly just wants to be left alone but since he’ss the hero of whatever people just Gave Him Too Much Love  - broke down and is now Fashionable  - sometimes likes to sew or paint  - headcanon that he’s colourblind(tritanopia)  - those little marks on his skin are little “wall cracks” from merging too often  - has a few scars but no important ones tbh
Tumblr media
Minish (The Minish Cap):  - small and Super Mad About It  - he’s extremely quiet and only really ever talks if he’s mad or asked a question  - and even then he says as few words as he can possibly muster  - really dedicated blacksmith and is pretty good at his job despite his age  - still hangs out with Zelda a whole lot theyre still Best Friends  - the scar is from his fight with Vaati and he got an undershirt with a collar to hide it a bit because he feels a bit self conscious about it :(
Tumblr media
Engi (Spirit Tracks):  - BABY BOY. BABY  - fuckin LOVES trains. he would Probably Die without them. still an engineer  - completely polite and sweet, calls you sir and stutters a whole lot  - also likes to fidget when he doesn’t have anything to do with his hands  - secretly completely RIPPED and could probably break you in half if he just weren’t such a sweetheart  - missing tooth from Byrne smacking him in the face with his Metal Hand and constantly has scratches but thats just cuz hes clumsy  - headcanon that he’s the grandson of Wind  - another headcanon that he can see ghosts since he was the only one who could see Zelda when she got absolutely annihilated
Tumblr media
Wind (The Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass):  - SHIP AHOY BITCHES  - absolutely Stupid. goddamn Fool, complete and utter buffoon  - tends to be a bit direct and a little too honest but as i said before. complete Dumbass  - ADORES to tease and poke fun as long as no one gets hurt  - swears like a sailor and IS a sailor. Its All Connected  - has a crooked nose because SOMEONE launched him at a wall that one time. Also from that explosion that launched him into that other wall that other time  - all his little jewelry things are treasures he found along the way
Tumblr media
Alti (A Link To The Past/Oracle of Seasons/Ages/Link’s Awakening): - oof this boi has been through So Much - just so tired of this shit.......... wants a break already - has pink hair because nintendo cant convince me otherwise and also has black roots because that’s his hair colour in the gameboy games - still misses everyone from the wind fish’s dream :( also idk know if he ever came back from the ocean tbh - honestly i know jack shit about any of his games so,,, sorry my boy
Tumblr media
Classic (The Legend of Zelda/The Adventure of Link): - the boy who started it all!!! god i love him so - honestly don’t really know much about him either,,, and honestly i dont think there is a lot to know the classic games are pretty plotless - but i like to imagine he’s like every Good Protagonist trope but none of the other links appreciate it a whole lot - “dont worry guys i believe we can do this! :)” cut to the whole group throwing trash at him - also gave him sectoral heterochromia to match the way his eyes look in the first game’s sprites

001 for Zelda :)
Thanks for the ask!  :)
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
Favorite character:
Saria from Ocarina of Time, and Zelda from Breath of the Wild
Least Favorite character:
Tingle.  ‘nuff said.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon):
- OoT Link x (a grown up) Saria
- TP Link x Midna
- BotW Zelda x Prince Sidon (I’m like the only one who ships them)
- BotW Link x Mipha
- OoT Shiek x Princess Ruto.  Yes, I know Shiek is Zelda (20 year old spoilers!) -- I see her as transgender, being more comfortable as Shiek after growing up as a Shiekah boy (my headcanon is she actually magically changed her gender, it’s not just a disguise), plus she doesn’t get kidnapped as often.  Ruto never forgot that it was Shiek who rescued her from the ice that froze over Zora’s Domain either.
Character I find most attractive:
Tumblr media
Ocarina of Time Link, in all his 90s hero glory, of course! ^^
Character I would marry:
See above.  (hopes my husband doesn’t actually follow my tumblr :P)
Character I would be best friends with:
Breath of the Wild Zelda.  I think it would be fun to go exploring Hyrule together and nerd out over Shiekah tech ^^
a random thought:
I’m a mod at Zelda Universe, the biggest Zelda fansite on the ‘net!  Check it out!
An unpopular opinion:
Sidon sees Link as the big brother he never/almost had, and doesn’t have any romantic interest in him.  (Dodges fish thrown by Link x Sidon shippers)
My Canon OTP:
Are there any actually confirmed pairings in Zelda among the main characters?  Well, I guess close enough would be WindWaker Link and Tetra, when they grow up.
My Non-canon OTP:
OoT Link and Saria.  She’s a sage, they could figure something out!
Most Badass Character:
The Fierce Deity.  If Link had this mask as an adult, he’d smack Demise’s Curse right out of Ganon(dorf)!
Most Epic Villain:
Zant before they revealed just how goofy he was, and he was hijacked by Ganondorf.
Pairing I am not a fan of:
OoT Link x Malon.  I have nothing against Malon as a character, and I know it’s considered canon by a large part of the fandom, since TP Link, OoT Link’s direct descendant, is a rancher, but I just don’t like them as a couple.  Not when Saria seemed to click so much better with Link personality-wise.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another):
Zant.  He seemed like such a great villain near the beginning of Twilight Princess, and honestly, the story would have been better if Ganondorf hadn’t been in it at all.
Also, TP Zelda, for the writers not having the balls to say she’s Queen Zelda.  If she rules the kingdom, she’s the Queen!  If you want a perpetual princess, the Mushroom Kingdom’s the next warp pipe over!
Favourite Friendship:
TP Link and Midna.  I love how their relationship evolved over the course of the game from reluctant allies, to real cooperation, to genuine respect and friendship.  When Link rides off on Epona at the end of the game, I’m convinced he’s off on another adventure to find his own way into the Twilight Realm, so he won’t be parted from her again.
Character I most identify with:
BotW Zelda.  Believe me, there have been times when I felt like other people weren’t allowing me to pursue my interests, and I totally get her frustration.
Character I wish I could be:
BotW Zelda, free from the burden of queenship and exploring all Hyrule has to offer, without some hanger-on hero!

Pinky! I'm back, why doesn't a Lynel emoji exist? As it would be super funny. I just need a Lynel and the farm and you know who I am. The one with the Lynel farm.
So to cut to the chase. These headcanons of Bunny!Legend kicked something in my brain and I think it would be cute for Reader but funny for the chain and embarrassing for Legend.
I was a bunny owner myself and I know, that bunnies do nest when they are expecting. So we know that his Dark World form bleeds sometimes into his hylian form. So I think, if Legend has a pregnant S/O. He would go to their shared bedroom and build a nest/ burrow/ den. As soon as his bunny instincts tell him, he will be getting kits.
He will find it embarrassing as soon as he realises what he is actually doing, while Reader finds it endearing. He also sleeps automatically so that he protects Reader and their stomach with his body. Even when Reader turns around, he will turn them back so he can protect them with his kits. Reader is his mate, he has to protect them.
But if the Chain finds out about the little nest that once was a bed. Legend is not going to live it down. Sky and Twilight will tease him relentlessly, but Reader takes the blame in front of them all and says they did it as they miss Legend so much and Reader is pregnant so they can pass it down pregnancy hormones. Legend knows that they did it to protect his pride as they know how much he hates his other form. Legend is glad but also feels guilty as they take the "blame" on their pregnant body.
But if they try to make fun of Legend as he is very protective and soft towards and around Reader. Reader will show that you should never mess with Legend's pregnant S/O. A mother becomes a grizzly bear as soon as they see their baby in danger but their love for Legend strong enough to put them in a similar state and pregnancy hormones, they are dangerous. Damn, Reader is suddenly a WWE fighter and beats the crap out of them, John Cena would be proud as he didn't know he had a hylian child, they even got a chair to smack the boys. All of them got a beating except for Hyrule as he is an innocent baby in their eyes and Time. Wind learns flying. Time didn't do anything so he "just" got a scolding for doing nothing to prevent the group from teasing their hero.
After that the Chain has a new juice to drink "Respect Reader Juice". Legend has to calm them down, normally it's the other way around, as stress isn't good for the baby. Warriors thanks him silently. Wind comes back and asks for another round. Wild wants to fly too! Twilight has to control those two. He drinks "Respect Women Juice", "Respect Pregnant Women Juice" so now he is drinking "Respect Pregnant Reader Or You Turn Into A Punching Bag Juice". Pregnant people are scary.
But I also think Legend would be in a pickle. He needs to travel with the group to slay the Shadow. But Reader is pregnant with his child/ children. In his paranoid mind, he is we all would be paranoid after we go through the same shit he did, he pictures the worst case scenarios. Ravio is a coward, he is incapable of protecting Reader and his kits. In fact, he is sure Ravio would run away as soon as some of Legend's enemies or even monsters from the Shadow come to hurt Legend psychologically. He would break down, if he sees his family dead and knowing, that he wasn't able to protect them! He would lose his will to live. Even if the boys try to cheer him up, nobody would be able to do it as Legend worked so hard for his family only to lose them! So of course, something in his mind he wants to protect them but he definitely doesn't want to take Reader with him or they are really a walking target! And even if Reader says he should go. He can't just pack up and leave! So the group stays until Reader calms Legend down so isn't in a paranoia episode until then the group has to wait and respect whatever Legend's choice is, even if they need his help. Time understands him, he has Twilight as his descendant and he knows how scared he was as Twilight was injured. He would probably react the same if Malon was pregnant as he also doesn't want to lose his loved ones. So he would even persuade the others, that Legend's choice is his to make not theirs. He would explain, that Legend wants to be there when his kit is born, learns to walk, learns to speak, he wants to hear its first words. He just wants to be there and have a kinda peaceful life since the beginning and maybe Hylia did want him to give him that with making Reader pregnant with his kits.
Maybe a Zebra emoji? Honestly, shame on them for not having a lynel emoji.
I actually don't know much about having bunnies either! But I know they stomp when they're mad!
But pregnancy hormones are no joke, what so ever. Especially when they're mad.... Or should I say hopping mad?
.... I'll see myself out.
And poor Legend, worrying his poor little head about every little thing because he wants everything to be nice and safe and homey. Just let the man raise his family in peace. :(

Twilight Characters Cast as Greek Deities - pictures + explanations
Warning:
This is a long one (but there are a lot of pretty pictures!)
By Greek Deities I mean all of them - the Primordial gods, Titans, Olympians, Daemones (personified spirits), and Nymphs. I focused on the deities personalities, abilities or history to find the right fit! Relationships are not taken into account!
Thanks to the anon who encouraged me to combine my love of Greek mythology with Twilight! This is for you!
These are simply my headcanons, so you're free to disagree or expand on them as you like!
The Olympic Coven
Tumblr media
Carlisle's foremost characteristic is his compassion and desire to heal others. He saved the lives of most of his family members; Edward, Rosalie, Esme, and Emmet. Asclepius, the son of Apollo and famed physician, was punished by Zeus for saving the life of mortals from certain death. He was elevated to godhood in death.
Tumblr media
Esme is described as the heart of the family. In ancient Greece, the hearth was the center of the home and family. Hestia received the first offering in every household since she presided over the preparation of the family meal.
Tumblr media
Jasper participated in two major wars, both as a major and then as a second-in-command. He isn't rash or sadistic enough to be Ares, but his gift for strategy and charisma makes Pallas, the Titan god of Warcraft and military campaign, an excellent choice for him.
Tumblr media
Alice has the gift of foresight, but her vivacious personality is why I chose the Titaness, Phoebe, out of all of the prophets and oracles. Phoebe is derived from the Greek word "phoibos" which means bright or radiant!
Tumblr media
Emmett has superior strength than most vampires. Kratos is the personified spirit of strength, might, power and sovereign rule.
Tumblr media
Rosalie was a difficult choice because she's like the lovechild of Aphrodite and Athena. She's beautiful, passionate, and desires children (procreation) but a she's also intelligent and interested in mechanics and engineering which is Athena's domain. I went with Aphrodite in the end because Athena is a maiden goddess and asexual.
Tumblr media
Edward was an easy choice however because there are surprisingly few gods who rule music. Apollo is the god of music, poetry, and healing (to name a few) and Edward has an interest in medicine. To my knowledge, there are no Greek gods with the ability to read minds as Edward does.
The Quileutes
Tumblr media
Sam was forced to keep the Alpha position by Jacob, which is an immense responsibility. Atlas was condemned to bear the entire sky for leading the Titans in their war against Zeus. Atlas came to mean endurance. (I thought of Hades at first, and I totally agree with you anon - he's got the 'hard on the outside soft on the inside' thing down to pat, but Hades fit another character better!)
Tumblr media
Jared has the penchant for gambling. At first, I thought Hermes would be a good match for him, but Hermes many other titles (so, so many titles). I decided that Caerus, who is the god of opportunity, critical time, advantage and profit, was a better fit since those are attributes of (successful) betting.
Tumblr media
Paul has a temper, but he's not a sadist like Ares. Poseidon is infamous for his temper tantrums, causing earthquakes and tsunamis (he's also a petty bitch, and I wouldn't put it past Paul to be one too if he could get away with it)
Tumblr media
Jacob has a love for mechanics, and not many can say that they built their car! Hephaestus became the god of smiths, fire, and metalworking and his creations are prized and sought after by all the other gods!
Tumblr media
Leah was challenging to cast. Initially, I thought she'd make a good Artemis, but that goddess has notoriously born hatred for all men since her birth. The only side of Leah we get to see in canon is the front she puts up - burnt and bitter. She's argumentative, sharp-tongued, and downright vicious. Eris is... not pleasant to be around. I think Leah would join Artemis and become her handmaiden once she's calmed down and away from Sam and Emily.
Tumblr media
Seth is our sunshine boy!!! (need I say more???)
Tumblr media
Embry is reserved and likes his space. I think he's the type to take advantage of the trails around La Push and go on long walks and enjoy his own company. Pan was the god of shepherds and forests of the mountain wilds. The Greeks associated his name with the word pan which means "all." However, its true origin lay in an old Arcadian word for rustic, but I couldn't resist quoting Hitchhiker's Guide in the picture - it's my favorite. I'M ONLY HUMAN!)
Tumblr media
Quil is remarkably relaxed and cheerful for a boy who's supposed to be raging with testosterone *cough* Jake *cough* Paul *hack*. He seems like the sort of guy to enjoy a good party, and Dionysos certainly does. It doesn't hurt that he's best friends with Pan (Embry).
Tumblr media
Emily was against Sam imprinting her at first. She was a victim of circumstance (it’s still shitty what they did to Leah), and Persephone was precisely that: a victim. Hades asked Zeus for the hand of one of his daughters and Zeus said that he could have Persephone, but that he'd need to kidnap her because Demeter would never allow him to have her daughter. He stole her and later tricked Persephone into staying with him for eternity. They fall deeply in love by the end tho.
Tumblr media
Kim's personality isn't known in canon - other than that she's shy. She's a favorite of mine though, so that's why she's here! In my headcanon, Kim is intelligent and offers great advice. She's cunning as well, and nothing goes past her - Jared doesn't stand a chance. Metis was a councilor of Zeus during his war against the Titans and hatched the plan which would make Cronus regurgitate Zeus's siblings. (She's also the mother of Athena - pls read her story it's incredible! ಥ_ಥ)
The Swan Family
Tumblr media
Bella is a shield, both in her human life and as a vampire. She does what she can to protect her loved ones, even going as far as to sacrifice herself by drawing blood as a distraction during the battle against Victoria. Soteria is the goddess and personification of safety, deliverance, and protection from harm. Deliverance, the action of being rescued or set free, is appropriate since Bella saved Edward from his inner demons as well.
Tumblr media
Charlie represents the human laws in Twilight as a police officer. He's calm and more accepting than most (though he has his limits *cough* Edward *cough*). Rhadamanthys was a famously just lawmaker during his mortal life and was appointed as one of the three Judges of the Dead and King of the Elysian Fields after he died.
Tumblr media
Renée tends to shift her hobbies and interests from one to another. Horme is the personification of effort and represents setting oneself in motion, and starting an action.
The Volturi
Tumblr media
Aro is the current king and ruler of the vampires. He isn't a philanderer, so Zeus was out, but how he murdered his sister, Dinyme, in cold blood to keep Marcus from leaving the Volturi (and thus losing his power) reminds me of Cronus's desperate attempt to thwart his prophesied defeat at the hands of his child. Cronus ate his own children and familicide was one of the worst crimes you could commit in ancient Greece.
Tumblr media
Marcus was DEPRESSED after he lost Didyme, his mate. The guy whispered "finally" when his head was about to be ripped off. Penthos is the personification of lamentation and mourning.

Caius is a sadist whose answer for everything is death and destruction. Ares revels in war for its own sake. He delights in the din and roar of battles, in the slaughter of men, and the destruction of towns. When Thanatos (the grim reaper) went missing, and people stopped dying, Ares sulked and famously said: "What's the point of war if no one dies?"

Jane was easy. She experienced such pain when she was burning at the stake that she could wield it with her mind when she became a vampire. Lupe is one of The Algea, who are three sisters that are the personification of pain and suffering - in both body and mind - grief, sorrow, and distress.
Tumblr media
Alec's power reminded me of Hypnos, who puts you to sleep before Morpheus gives you dreams. Alec shuts off all of your senses - kind of like turning the off switch.

Sulpicia isn't given much of a personality in canon, and in Life and Death, Smeyer simply turned her into a female Aro by giving her his abilities of tactile telepathy. She deserves more credit; she's incredibly old, and I like to think that while she's locked up in the tower, Sulpicia keeps up with the times by watching the news on TV or reading news articles on the internet. Mnemosyne was the Titan goddess of memory and represented the rote memorization required to preserve the stories of history and myth before the introduction of writing.
Tumblr media
Didyme's power was inducing happiness. Euphrosyne was one of the three Charities and the goddess of good cheer, mirth, merriment, and joy.
Tumblr media
Athenodora is said to be one of the oldest vampires still walking the earth. We don't know much about her, but I bet she's created a few vampires in her time to keep the species going. Gaia was born at the dawn of creation, and all of the heavenly gods are her descendants.
Tumblr media
Corin's addictive power is what persuades the wives and Chelsea to stay content in their imprisonment. You go through severe withdrawal by leaving, but it can be done since Eleazar, whose ability Aro coveted, left with Carmen. Peitho personifies persuasion and seduction - not 100% fitting to Corin's talents but the best I could think of...

Felix is a high-ranking guard and relies on strength and combat techniques to serve his leaders. His physical capabilities are so powerful that he has maintained within the guard for centuries. Alexiares, whose name means unconquerable, is one of two brothers that preside over defense and fortification of Olympus's gate.
Tumblr media
Demitri's tracking ability and "Casanova lifestyle" immediately reminded me of Hermes, who is the god of herds, travelers and hospitality, roads and trade, thievery and cunning, heralds and diplomacy. It's fitting because Demitri is also shown to be polite and restrained, but he undoubtedly has a few aces up his sleeves to have survived in the Volturi guard for centuries.
Tumblr media
Chelsea's ability to strip people of their emotional ties and forge new ones is unnerving. Ananke was the primordial goddess of necessity, compulsion, and inevitability. She emerged from Chaos fully formed at the beginning of all creation and is thought to be untouchable by all, from mortals and the immortals. She's able to control the fates of other gods and make them slaves to their own urges if she so chooses.
Tumblr media
Afton's ability to make himself invisible is not found in any Greek deity, but Hades owns a helmet which is made of darkness and renders the user invisible.
The Denali Coven
Tumblr media
Eleazar's ability to see other's potential reminds me of Prometheus's forethought and the unshakable belief he has in the humans Zeus forced him to create.
Tumblr media
Carmen is pretty chill and peaceful from what we get to see of her in Breaking Dawn. She isn't overly troubled by the legality of things since she accepts Renesmee, whose existence goes against both the laws of vampires and those of nature, at once. We see that Carmen is maternal and gentle when she asks if she can hold Renesmee. Eirene is the personification of peace, and for Carmen, I interpreted that as personal peace and not upholding the legal system. Statues of Eirene often depict her as a maiden holding the infant Ploutos (Wealth) in her arms.
Tumblr media
Kate is OOOLD but not the oldest vampire in existence. Since the power of lightning is solely in Zeus's domain (and Kate isn't a serial rapist), I had to overlook her electric ability. Electricity is used as a source of light, so I think Hemera is a good choice for Kate. She's the primordial goddess of the day and would disperse her mother Nyx's dark mists every morning to bathe the earth in the light from the ether.
Tumblr media
Tanya reminds me of the Titaness Eos because they both have an insatiable desire for handsome men. Eos shares Hemera's domain, and later took over her duty of bringing the dawn to earth by opening the gates for Helios's chariot.
Tumblr media
Irina thought the Cullens had created an immortal child, which was the outlawed. To her, it seemed like the Cullens thought they were above their laws and reported them to the Volturi accordingly. Nemesis is the goddess who exacted retribution against those who succumb to hubris.
The Irish Coven
Tumblr media
Maggie can detect lies. Aletheia's the personification of truth and sincerity.
Tumblr media
Siobhan's talent is outcome manipulation, which I assume means she can affect the outcome of some event. Lachesis was the second of the Three Fates. She distributes the 'thread' of a life. "Lanchano" means to obtain by lot, by fate, or by the will of the gods.
The Amazon Coven
Tumblr media
Zafrina's ability of visual projection reminded me of Pasithea's past time of inducing hallucinations and relaxation. She was one of the younger Charities but later married Hypnos and now resides with him in the Underworld.
Tumblr media
Kachiri was the first out of the Amazon Coven to be bitten, but she didn't want to be separated from her two best friends, Senna and Zafrina, so she went back and turned them as well. I'm endlessly fascinated by their coven, so I didn't want to separate them here! Macaria is the goddess of "blessed" death which reminded me of how Kachiri came to collect her friends.
Tumblr media
Senna is the quiet one, but that might be because she was wary around the Cullens. Gorgyra is a nymph in the Underworld and gave birth to Hade's orchardist. I can see her chilling with Katchiri and Zafrina in her son's orchard.
James’s Coven
Tumblr media
James is an asshole. He’s so petty that he couldn't deal with the Cullen's refusal of sharing their meal, so he tricked Bella into coming to him by pretending to have her mother (how would he know who Renée was and wasn't she in Jacksonville??? Use your brain, Bella). Dolos is the personification of trickery, cunning deception, treachery, and guile - so basically, he's a nasty piece of work. He and James deserve each other.
Tumblr media
Victoria was the first one I cast. She instantly reminded me of Hera because instead of punishing her husband/mate for his wandering eyes (greedy, in James's case) she goes to great length to punish Edward by trying to kill Bella, who is the innocent one in this whole shitshow. Hera, the goddess of marriage, should have picked a better husband because Zeus already was notorious for panting after every attractive face that came his way before they wed (heck he even cheated on her during their wedding celebration).
Tumblr media
Laurent didn't give me a lot to work with since he's only portrayed as a coward. That doesn't seem correct because he came back to warn the Cullen's of James's plans and he later returned to Forks as a favor to Victoria. Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus, was the Titan god of afterthought and excuses. I think Laurent regretted his decisions in the end, both for having traveled with James, and for having listened to Victoria. He also gave Bella the excuse that he had to kill her since Victoria was his old buddy.
Nomads
Tumblr media
Peter was another difficult choice. At first, I thought Thanatos might be a good choice since Peter enjoyed fighting in Maria's army.  Thanatos's gentle touch kills instantly, but Jasper was the one who killed the newborns. Peter fell in love with Charlotte, whose newborn powers eventually expired, but instead of "delivering" Charlotte to her death, Peter told her to run and chased after her. Kharon (Charon) transported the dead across the waters to Hades in his boat but refused those that couldn't pay for the ride.
Tumblr media
Charlotte is a survivor. She isn't a fighter by nature, but she made it through the Southern vampire wars alive and then fled with Peter to roam free as a nomad. Nike is the goddess of victory - both in war and in peaceful competition. I think Charlotte conquered all of life's trials and also when it came to love.
Tumblr media
Alistair is an ancient hermit. He's suspicious by nature and rather displeased with his lot in life. I don't blame the guy since he was betrayed by his father and as a vampire, the falcons Alistair loved flew away from him in terror. Ouranos was the primordial god of the sky and was later betrayed by his sons.
Tumblr media
Garrett was a hotheaded patriot who willingly fought for the colonies' right to self-govern. He was a true believer in the American dream. Menoetius was the god of rash actions and violent rage. The Greek word “menos” means might, force, passion, and battle rage.
Tumblr media
Maria isn't a nomad, but I thought I'd include her on the list. She lived in Monterrey with her coven, her mate and two others that were like parents to her, before they were destroyed in the vampire battle for territory. Maria was the only survivor, and she built an army to extract revenge and get her territory back. Poine is the personified spirit of retribution, vengeance, recompense, punishment, and penalty for the crime of murder and manslaughter.
The Egyptian Coven
Tumblr media
Benjamin was a tough one because of his elemental powers. The Greek gods divided the four elements between them, so there isn't one deity that has control over them all at once. Phanes was the primordial god of creation in the Orphic cosmogony. He was the generator of life and the driving force behind reproduction in the early cosmos. Phanes hatched from the world-egg, a primordial mix of elements split into its constituent parts. So he sort of had control over the elements at one point before dispersing them among his siblings. (Phanes was later known as Eros).
Tumblr media
Tia was a quiet woman but when she did speak her words were insightful, and there was gravity to everything she said. Epiphron was the personification of shrewdness, careful consideration, and sagacity.
Tumblr media
Kebi was Amun's slave while she was human. He chose her to become his mate because of her good looks. She was helpless from the start, and we never get to hear her speak or show any indication of being unhappy with her situation. Aporia is the personified spirit of powerlessness, want and difficulty.
Tumblr media
Amun was tricky because, to be honest, he's a bastard, but we mustn't forget cultural relativity. Slavery was considered to be a-okay back in the days, and it was probably a fantastic way to keep a vampire's kitchen stocked. Now not so much but Amun doesn't seem like the type to evolve with the times. He's possessive and paranoid, keeping Benjamin locked away in an ivory tower so the Volturi won't come and steal him away as they did to Demitri. He also deprived Kebi of her choices and made her his slave/mate in death as well. Along with ruling death and funeral rites, Hades is also the god of the hidden wealth of the earth, from the fertile soil with nourished the seed-grain to the mined wealth of gold, silver, and other metals. Benjamin is Amun's hidden treasure.
Humans
Tumblr media
Jessica is a normal teenage girl. She likes having friends, gossiping, and has a crush on the most handsome boy in school who doesn't return her affections. Echo was much the same; she gossiped, but she wasn't meanspirited, and genuinely wanted to help her friends in the conquest of love. She lied to Hera, who cursed her to have an echo of a voice as punishment for distracting her from Zeus's affairs with her endless chatter. She later fell in love with Narcissus who spurned her affections.
Tumblr media
Angela is the sweetest, most kindhearted person we get to meet in Twilight. Philophrosyne is one of the younger Charities and is the personification of friendliness and welcome.
Tumblr media
Mike has the hots for Bella. He has an on-and-off relationship with Jessica but only asked her out because Bella told him to. Himeros is the god of sexual desire and the personification of longing, and yearning.
Tumblr media
Lauren is jealous of everyone who is pretty, despite being the most popular girl at school. She's also standoffish and snobby. Hybris is the personified spirit of insolence, hubris, violence, reckless pride, arrogance and outrageous behavior in general.
