I haven't seen any posts about this yet but l've seen some fan art that makes me feel this needs to be said:
Don't forget Leah Sava Jeffries has darker skin when making Annabeth Chase fan art!
She is much closer to Lupita Nyong'o than Zoe Kravitz when it comes to shading, reflection, and complementary color usage :).
Lighting for dark skin is different on light skin. Light skin gets changed by lighting, and dark skin reflects the lighting. Below is a lovely shot of Nyong'o's character from Wakanda Forever in mourning. The filmmakers emphasize the umber qualities of her skin in contrast to the funereal white and (arguably harsh) light across her shoulder below.
Try to pick spots that aren't directly in or near the light, and try mixing 3 or more! You can put it into a color mixer online, or even color pick, lower the opacity, and lay the shades over each other until you find one that fits. And of course, the more 'realistic' you want to go with shading and lighting, the more shades you're going to want to be able to explore vivaciously :D.
Let's take a look at the same 3 beautiful actresses I mentioned at the beginning, with a bad color picked area and a better-ish color picked area. (Please keep in mind, these are not perfect comparisons, as I was not able to find pictures of all 3 actresses under the same kind of lighting.)
Kravitz's has a clear difference between the two, but they aren't too far apart, in comparison to Nyong’o’s and Jeffries’s. Note the dullness in the poorly picked shades as opposed to the better ones. Also keep in mind that while Kravitz has a rosy undertone (at least in that picture - it’s from The Batman, which has stylized coloring) Nyong’o has a slight cool undertone (I can’t pin down quite what, but the picture is definitely not stylized like Kravitz’s).
Jeffries runs more ochre or russet, but neither of those are pink. They are more red than terracotta or umber, but to call Jeffries’s face rosy would be wrong. Err more towards the golden when drawing her.
^^saved an image from a writing tutorial long ago, but can’t seem to find it. If someone recognizes it, I’ll link it. EDIT: it’s from this post. Thanks @autumnrowancollector ! <3
And also, the darker skin gets, the less likely warm undertones are going to appear. Don't be afraid to use blue or purple or even green on occasion!
Additionally, cool lighting on dark skin is always a win imo.
(I was going to use that picture of Jeffries as Annabeth by the lightning bolt, but then I realized the lighting on her face doesn’t quite match up with where it should hit from that angle, and I realized they kind of just turned everything bluer, so screenshot time!)
(Also if you want another really great live action example, check out anything Aldis Hodge is in, like Leverage and Black Adam)(and of course there’s Spiderverse <3 but I want to post pictures of Hodge)
Now, to here’s a list of more experienced people’s advice:
Black facial features & hair
Shading digitally for a (somewhat) monotone Black character
Stylistic choices and places to start looking for inspiration (besides a search engine).
Coloring Black people’s lips
A better coloration tutorial
Also a nice tutorial for Indigenous skin tones, just in case yall want to draw Piper or use this information for other dark skinned characters :).
EDIT: Some actresses who are closer in skintone to use for Annabeth, provided by the lovely @blackfemmecharacterdependency ! If you can’t find a reference for Jeffries in a specific lighting, maybe check out these ladies’ pictures! It’s a reblog, so scroll down.
TLDR: Don’t make Annabeth pink and pale, make her dark and golden.
#Annabeth chase#Percy Jackson#percabeth#leah sava jeffries#pjo#leah jeffries#art tutorial#percy jackon and the olympians#I love superheroes and so of course all of the actors I thought of were from superhero movies lmao#also for the record my advice is mostly from reading others’ tutorials and observation#and I don’t really use it a lot because I stick to lineart a lot lol#like down to mentioning Hodge (love himmmm) as a reference for good lighting on dark skin#there’s another post floating around here that specifically mentions him and Leverage for that#I’m tagging this as an art tutorial but really i want it to be more of a master post#master post so yall can see the tutorials I usually use#but then I ended up writing about Jeffries specifically because I’m dumb#I wanted to go to sleep four hours ago I’m dumb#I really want to draw her and ginger Percy but#irl it’s starting to get busy at school again :/

Daddy's Boy-Part Three//t.c.
Information: little bit of angst, and lots of fluff
You kept your phone close at all times that evening after getting home from work. Theo asked about his dad when you picked him up from daycare, when you got home, while you were making dinner, when you were eating dinner together, and he even took a break from playing in his room to ask about him once more.
"He promised he would call, Theo, but he’s working. So you just have to be patient." you had told the anxious three-year-old.
It did feel like ages for you as well as you waited to hear the phone and Timmy's voice on the other end of it. You felt yourself falling for him all over again. You had no way of stopping it, nor did you really want to.
You were beginning to worry that it would be passed Theo's bedtime by the time Timmy called and he would miss talking to his father.
Time dragged on, and bedtime came. Theo was obviously upset that he did not get to talk to his daddy. Meeting him and playing with him the day before was like a whole new beginning for the young boy.
You told your son that you were sorry, but that you were sure Daddy just got caught up with his job.
"What job does Daddy have?" Theo asked as you helped him into bed.
"Well," you decided to tell him the truth, as he would find it out eventually, "he makes movies."
"Like superheroes?"
"Kind of, yeah. Um, he pretends to be other people in movies. It's called acting. Your dad is an actor."
"Wow, that's cool." Theo smiled, "I wish he came to play today."
"You'll see him again soon, I promise. Daddy loves you, bubs." you then kissed your little boy's forehead. "Get some sleep, okay? I'll see you in the morning."
"Okay. Goodnight, Momma."
You watched him turn onto his left side, his long lashes fluttering closed. You were instantly reminded of Timmy sleeping the same way, on the same side, facing you in the bed. He would get comfortable and then pull you into his chest, holding you all night long. You always slept so well when you were with Timmy.
Timmy loved to cuddle, and so did his son. It was so crazy to you how alike they really were, even without being in each other's lives. It was as if they were in sync no matter what.
You left Theo's room, hoping that Timmy would still call. You hoped he would call and make plans to come hang out with his son soon.
But that call never came. You were shocked that you hadn't heard anything from him, not even a text, before you went to bed. He had seemed so eager to talk to Theo again. Your heart sank, thinking that he didn't mean it. Those old feelings of being unwanted came to you as you tossed and turned in your sleep that night.
This is what you wanted to avoid all along. This sadness, this feeling of being alone, none of it was what you wanted for your child.
You decided to invite happy thoughts to your mind. You knew Timmy, he had no malice in his heart. He wouldn't ever hurt anyone on purpose. You were sure that he would have an explanation for tonight.
…..
The next morning, you had a text message from your son’s father:
I am so sorry! Please tell Theo I didn’t mean to miss our call. Just call me when you wake up and I will explain everything.
You didn’t type out a response, you called him, eager to hear what he had to say. You tried to make your disappointment in him subside.
“Hey, I’m sorry about last night.” Timmy answered, “My meetings ran over into the evening and I just got home and crashed. I was so exhausted.”
“Okay, but that’s not an excuse, Timmy.” you did sympathize with him, for sure. He was still extremely new to the parenting thing. But you also wanted to be firm with him, because this was a serious matter, and he needed to really understand that.
“I know it’s not. But can you give me another chance to make it up to you and Theo? Please?” he was really trying, you knew that. He only wanted to make things right.
“Of course you can have another chance. Um, are you busy later today? You can come with me to pick him up from daycare.”
“No, I’m not busy. I’d love to do that!”
“Okay, great. Just send me your address and I’ll pick you up after I get off work?”
“Sounds perfect. I can’t wait to see him. Bye, y/n.”
“Bye, Timmy.”
…….
“So, I talked to Timothée-I mean, your daddy and he said he was so sorry about missing your call last night, but he’s gonna be there with me to pick you up from daycare.” you said to your son as you were ready to walk out of the door together.
"My daddy is gonna pick me up! Yaaay! I so excited!" Theo cheered.
You giggled, "Yep, he's excited to see you too."
The rest of the day was rather uneventful, and then finally it was time to pick Timmy up. He was waiting for you outside his apartment building. He smiled when he saw you pull up.
He opened the passenger side door and hopped into your car. "Hey, how was your day?" he asked. His bubbly demeanor was intact as ever.
"Oh it was good. Kinda boring."
"Same here. Had some phone calls and emails, but nothing major. Did you tell Theo I was coming?" he asked, looking over at you as you put the car in drive and took off.
"Yes, I told him. He was super excited. He even said so." you giggled.
"Good, so he's not upset with me?"
"No. But I think you and I should talk about some things later, like, if you would eventually like to keep him overnight and things like that." You glanced over at him and he nodded immediately.
"Yeah, I'd love that. You're right, we do have a lot to discuss. This is all so new to me still."
"I know it is, and I want to help you with the process as much as I can. I can tell that you really want to be in his life, and I want us to be successful coparents. Theo deserves the best."
"I agree."
.......
You lead the way with Timmy into the gathering of other parents at the daycare center waiting to pick their children up as well.
"Oh, there he is." you nodded ahead, spotting Theo as he sat at a small table with a sweet looking little red-haired girl. You then noticed that Theo was holding hands with the girl.
"What-uh, what's going on there? Why is he holding some girl's hand?" Timmy asked, frowning.
"I think that is Everly, his little girlfriend." you said, looking at his face for a reaction.
Timmy was clearly taken aback, "Girlfriend?!" His voice was rather loud and a few parents glared over at the two of you.
"Keep your voice down, Timmy." you warned him in hushed tones.
"Sorry." he whispered, then returned his voice to a softer, indoor one. "I just don't know how to feel about my three-year-old having a girlfriend.
You laughed, "It's harmless, Timmy. They’re just little kids. And she's sweet. She and Theo play so well together."
Timmy sighed, all serious, "Yeah, well I don't think I had a girlfriend that young."
You shook your head, giggling, "You're ridiculous."
"Okay, parents, you may collect your children!" called out one of the daycare teachers.
Theo was one of the first kids to come out, and he yelled, "Daddy!" as he ran into Timmy's arms.
"Hey buddy!" Timmy sang as he picked up his son into a warm embrace.
You couldn't help but smile at the sight of the two of them. They were like two halves of the same soul. Seeing your son so happy made your heart warm, but seeing Timmy acting so soft and carefree with your child made you melt.
You all went out for pizza because Theo told his daddy that that was his favorite food. Afterwards, they played for hours at home.
For some reason, Theo wanted to bring his basketball hoop into the living room. You said, "Okay, as long as you're careful and don't break anything."
You thought that maybe he wanted you to see him and his dad playing. Like he wanted you to be apart of it too. You could see how delighted Theo was to play with Timmy. He'd never had a male figure to play these games with. He also loved the challenge of someone bigger than him trying to block the hoop when he would shoot the ball.
After playing basketball for awhile, Theo wanted to play with his building blocks, so he and Timmy dragged his big box of blocks into the living area as well. You got a kick out of their antics.
They had built a rather impressive castle together by the time it got dark outside. "And that's where the princess lives." Theo said, pointing to the highest point of the pretend castle. "She has a pet dragon that lives outside the castle."
"Oh, does the dragon protect the princess?" asked Daddy Timothee.
"Yes, it does! He breathe fire at anyone who tries to hurt the princess."
You smiled at how animated your son could be. But he came by it honestly, as he was Timothee Chalamet's offspring.
"Theo tonight is bath night, okay?" you said, reminding him.
"Okay." said the three-year-old. He looked down, disappointed about playtime with dad coming to an end.
........
But Theo's chipper mood returned when Timmy told him he could stay to help him with his bath. Theo put his little shark bathrobe on after dried off and Timmy offered to brush his damp, curly hair.
You sat on the toilet lid, as Timmy kneeled down to his son's height to comb through the tangled locks on his head.
Theo groaned as the brush tugged on his hair.
"Yeah, I know that hurts buddy, I'll be more gentle." Timmy squinted his eyes, as he became more focused on the rats in Theo's hair. He made shorter, slower strokes with the brush, combing throught the curls thoroughly, so Theo wouldn’t feel any pulling.
You realized that Timmy had understood Theo's hair texture better than anyone else ever had because it was the same as his own.
“Okay, all done.” Timmy announced, patting Theo on the head.
You let Timmy put Theo to bed. The little one was actually pretty tired after the long day, and didn’t fight going to bed at all.
You waited for Timmy in the kitchen. You both knew that a discussion was needed.

A Marvelous Surprise
I’d always thought that my life was pretty perfect. I had everything I could ever want: a supportive family, great friends, and a boyfriend who was not only incredibly talented but also genuinely kind. My boyfriend was none other than Oscar Piastri, the Formula 1 driver who had taken the world by storm. But, as I found out one sunny afternoon at the racetrack, sometimes even the perfect life has a few extraordinary surprises.
The day started like any other Grand Prix day. I was in the pit lane, surrounded by the clamor of engines and the frenetic energy of the race day preparations. Oscar had been busy with the team, and I was making my way through the paddock, trying to stay out of the way but still soaking in every moment of the high-octane atmosphere.
I had my usual race day ritual—cheering for Oscar from the best spot I could find and, if I had a moment, catching up on social media. My love for Marvel was well-known among my friends, and they had teased me about it endlessly. Every interview I did where I gushed about my favorite characters—Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan, and my all-time favorite actor, James McAvoy—was met with knowing smiles and playful jabs.
Oscar had heard it all, of course. He was always so patient with my endless Marvel monologues. I had even been lucky enough to attend a few fan events, where my excitement for superheroes could be fully unleashed. But nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen.
The race was in full swing, and Oscar was driving brilliantly. I was on the edge of my seat, my eyes locked on the track, when my phone buzzed with a new message. I glanced down to see a text from Oscar: “Meet me at the hospitality suite after the race. I have a surprise for you.”
My heart raced—not from the thrill of the race, but from the anticipation of Oscar’s surprise. The remainder of the race felt like it dragged on forever. When Oscar finally crossed the finish line, victorious as always, I couldn’t wait to see him.
After the post-race celebrations, I headed to the hospitality suite. The area was relatively quiet, a stark contrast to the chaos of the pit lane. I entered the suite, expecting to find Oscar waiting with a small token of his appreciation or perhaps just a sweet gesture to celebrate his win.
What I saw instead took my breath away.
The suite was filled with the unmistakable aura of Marvel’s finest. There, standing among the elegant furniture and decorations, were some of my absolute favorites—Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., James McAvoy, Evan Peters, and Anthony Mackie. They were chatting amongst themselves, their faces lit with amusement as they turned to see me enter.
My jaw dropped. My eyes darted between them, not quite believing what I was seeing. I stumbled into the room, feeling like I was walking through a dream.
Oscar stepped up beside me, his grin as wide as ever. “Surprise, YN!” he said, his eyes twinkling with mischief and affection. “I know how much you love Marvel and James McAvoy, so I thought I’d arrange a little meet-and-greet.”
I couldn’t form words. I just stared, blinking rapidly. Chris Evans noticed and chuckled. “I think we broke her,” he said, leaning toward the others.
Elizabeth Olsen came over, her smile warm and genuine. “Hi, YN! I’m Elizabeth. We’ve all heard so much about your love for Bucky Barnes. It’s great to finally meet you!”
Sebastian Stan, ever the charming Bucky, approached with a wink. “Hey there. I see you’re a fan of my alter ego. I have to say, it’s always amazing to meet someone who appreciates Bucky like you do.”
James McAvoy was next. My heart skipped a beat as he extended his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, YN. I’ve heard you’re quite the fan. Your enthusiasm is contagious.”
I shook his hand, barely able to contain my excitement. “James, I can’t believe it’s really you. You’ve been my favorite actor for as long as I can remember.”
Evan Peters and Anthony Mackie joined in, their smiles infectious. “So, YN, what’s it like having Oscar Piastri as your boyfriend?” Evan asked playfully. “Is he as impressive off the track as he is on it?”
I laughed, still trying to get my head around everything. “Oh, absolutely. He’s amazing.”
Scarlett Johansson then stepped forward, her presence commanding. “YN, I’ve heard so much about your passion for the Marvel universe. It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm.”
We spent the next few hours in a whirlwind of conversation, photo ops, and laughter. I felt like I was floating on a cloud. Oscar watched with a knowing smile, clearly enjoying the joy his surprise had brought me.
I chatted with each of them about their roles, my favorite scenes, and even got some behind-the-scenes stories. Chris Evans regaled me with tales from the set of the Captain America films, while Robert Downey Jr. shared funny anecdotes about his time as Iron Man.
When it was time to say goodbye, I was reluctant to leave. I hugged each of them, my heart full of gratitude and happiness. “Thank you all so much. This has been a dream come true.”
As I walked out with Oscar by my side, I felt like I was walking on air. “You really outdid yourself this time,” I said, leaning into him.
Oscar kissed my forehead. “I’m glad you enjoyed it. You deserve every bit of happiness.”
The ride back to our hotel was quiet, filled with comfortable silence and shared smiles. I knew I’d be reliving every moment of the day in my mind for a long time. The memories would be a cherished part of my life, thanks to Oscar and his incredible surprise.
As I finally settled into bed, I found myself replaying the day’s events. It felt like I was living in a Marvel movie, where everything came together perfectly in the end. I had my superhero dreams come true, and it was all thanks to the love of my life who knew me better than anyone else.

The Boys Masterlist
“We need to talk.”
Y/N’s eyes widen slightly as she looks up at her boyfriend from her place on the couch, and then a small frown begins to crease into her forehead as she sees the darkness in his green eyes that tells her that whatever this is isn’t good.
“Okay…” she hesitantly replies, sitting up straighter. “Is everything okay?”
No, it’s not, he’s had enough of you and he’s leaving. He’s finally realised he can do better than you, that he is so far out of your league you’re barely a spot in the distance.
“No, it’s not actually,” Soldier Boy replies, confirming to her that her inner monologue is right. He crosses his arms over his chest and stares down at her, making her only grow more and more uncomfortable.
Just get on with it, she begs him silently in her head.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, timidly.
“When I tell you to sit, I mean sit,” he explains.
Only it’s not an explanation at all, and the frown creased into Y/N’s forehead only deepens, as she glances down at the way she’s currently sitting and shifts her weight slightly, wondering what’s wrong with the way she sits and why her boyfriend suddenly has such a big issue with it.
“I don’t get it, Ben,” she admits, still shuffling in her place.
“You hover,” he adds, clearly irritated by the very fact. Y/N licks her lips, opening her mouth to reply, but no sound comes out to begin with, and so she clears her throat and then frowns deeper yet. Now she’s completely lost, because she has no idea what Ben’s talking about. “When I tell you to sit on my face I mean sit not hover,” he concludes.
Y/N’s eyebrows raise, and then a smile begins to curl over her lips, and suddenly she’s giggling to herself. She really thought this was going all wrong, that maybe he was trying to find some ridiculous excuse to break up with her because he didn’t want to just tell her the truth; that he could do better. But now she’s realising it’s got nothing to do with the way she sits on the couch. He’s talking about sex. Of course he is. The thought only makes Y/N giggle harder as the relief floods her entire body.
“What’s so funny?” he asks, frowning himself now that he’s the one that’s confused.
“Jesus, Ben, I thought you were seriously angry, then!” she scoffs, shaking her head and relaxing a little, so glad this was just some joke. Jesus, the guy’s a good actor.
“I am,” he replies stubbornly. But she’s not falling for his teasing any longer.
“Oh c’mon, it’s no big deal,” she brushes him off, laughing again. “Besides, I don’t wanna crush you, I’m hardly lightweight,” she points out, gesturing to her body.
Ben’s frown only deepens at her words, and he huffs a breath, staring her down until the smile has faded a little more from her face, and she starts to second guess if he is only teasing, or if he’s actually mad about this. She’s never known the supe to be a huge joker, so maybe she should consider the fact that he’s actually annoyed.
“Are you seriously mad about this?” she checks, just to be sure.
“Yes,” he confirms with a brief nod of his head. “What’s the matter, you think I can’t handle it?” he challenges.
“Look at me, Ben, I’m not going on magazine covers any time soon,” she scoffs, shaking her head. “Last thing I need is to suffocate the world’s first superhero to death with my fat thighs.”
“You flatter yourself too much,” Ben argues back. “You think that’s all it would take to kill me? You just said so yourself, I’m superhuman, I’m sure I can handle it.”
Suddenly, it all clicks into place, and Y/N realises just why Ben is so upset about this. He thinks that she’s going easy on him, he thinks that she thinks that he can’t handle it. He’s a very proud man, she should’ve known something like this would annoy him. But that doesn’t mean that she can’t point out how ridiculous he’s being. He knows exactly what she thinks about him and his powers. It’s never hurt to call Ben out on his ego trips now and then. She likes to think it keeps him grounded. He does seem a lot more level headed since they started dating.
“Oh, I see,” Y/N smirks slightly, crossing her own arms over her chest. “I’ve bruised your ego,” she points out. “Ben, it’s nothing personal. It’s just all my exes never meant sit when they said sit,” she explains briefly, not seeing the big deal.
“Yeah, well until now you’ve only dated boys,” he counters. That’s when he uncrosses his arms and leans down over her, his hands resting either side of her head as he brings his face closer to hers. “You’re dating a man now, honey, so next time I tell you to sit, I expect you to sit.”
“Yes sir,” she replies sassily, smirking once again before rolling her eyes, but the supe doesn’t smirk back, and she realises he’s once again not messing around. Just the thought actually begins to make her sweat a little. The fact he wants her to stop holding back is quite the turn on. The darkness in his eyes adds to that too, of course. “Next time I’ll sit,” she confirms, with a lot less teasing in her tone.
Soldier Boy reaches up and grabs her chin softly, kissing her lips briefly. “Good girl,” he husks, before walking away, leaving Y/N dazed and flustered.
Soldier Boy’s POV
The supe is feeling just a little better that evening as he relaxes back on the bed and amuses himself with the Soldier Boy comic books that had been released during his time away. Though, he’s not too fond of the way he gets portrayed sometimes, like he’s a big baby that runs and hides at the first real sign of danger. Maybe that’s added to his stress, because while he’ll never admit it, Y/N had been right that his issue this morning had mainly been an issue because of a bruised ego. Of course it was a little insulting that Y/N might think he can’t handle a woman sitting on his face. When really, he could think of nothing better, especially when it comes to a woman like Y/N.
At the thought of her, he hears her humming quietly to herself under her breath as she emerges from the bathroom in nothing but a towel. She smiles over at him softly when she notices him looking, and then proceeds to head over to her dresser, opening her drawer and pulling out her pyjamas. Ben can’t help but notice they’re the silky ones he likes most, and just the thought of seeing her in them starts to get him going. But the thing that really sets him off is watching her slowly remove her towel, using it to dab herself dry slowly, exposing more and more of her perfect naked body.
He can’t help the soft moan that escapes his lips as he appreciates his view, and Y/N glances his way at the sound.
“What?” she asks coyly.
“You know just what that body of yours does to me, honey,” he hums, unashamedly. Y/N rolls her eyes and turns her back to him, but he doesn’t appreciate the view any less, his eyes dropping to her perfect, full ass and her thick warm thighs, and he imagines his face trapped between them and has to reach down to palm over his thickening cock. “C’mere,” he commands with a soft grunt.
Y/N slowly approaches his side of the bed, still clinging to her towel as she attempts to cover up part of her body with it. The supe is quick to reach out and tear it from her grasp, throwing it to the floor so she’s got nowhere to hide. His eyes rake hungrily over her curves, and he realises it doesn’t matter how many times he sees her, he’ll never grow tired of seeing her.
“Remember what we talked about earlier?” he asks, peeling his eyes off of her body and looking up at her face instead.
“Yeah,” she replies hesitantly, seemingly only growing more timid.
“Good,” the supe grins, shuffling himself further down the bed and throwing his head back. “Then sit.”
“Right now?” she checks.
Soldier Boy only has to turn his head and look at her to prompt her into action as she bites down on her bottom lip and begins to climb onto the bed. He can tell she’s still hesitant, slowly and carefully lifting her leg to begin straddling his body, and the supe grows impatient and grabs her thigh, tugging her down almost forcefully as he makes her squeal and giggle slightly. Instantly, her sex is pressed against his mouth, and Ben wastes no time opening up, extending his tongue to push through her folds as he begins to taste her sweet juices. He hums in delight, feeling the full extent of her weight pressing down on his face, feeling utterly suffocated by her and loving every second of it. This is what he’s been craving.
He laps up every drop she gives him; and she only gives him more and more the longer he toys with her clit, or fucks her opening with his tongue, and while her voice is muffled thanks to the warm, soft flesh of her thighs pressing against his ears, he can still hear her hums and moans of pleasure above him, and he can hear the slight groans and creaks of the mattress and headboard as she holds on for dearlife and rocks her hips to aid him. His arms wrap firmly around her hips, holding her down tighter against him, wanting to struggle to breathe in anything but her and her intoxicating scent, and it works, his cock desperate and throbbing between his legs at the very sensations flooding him.
When he begrudgingly pulls back for air, he turns his head and begins to bite and suck on the soft flesh of her inner thighs, making her gasp for air and tense them either side of his face, only making him feel even more wrapped up in her.
“God you taste so good, baby girl,” he growls against her skin, once again encouraging her pussy back onto his mouth, already missing the sweet tang of her juices.
He feasts on her once more, not stopping until her legs are shaking either side of his head, and she’s trying to speak coherent words, but the only sounds falling from her lips are in broken english and near enough gibberish, until he can feel her walls pulsing inside her, her thigh muscles quivering.
He moans himself as he pushes his way out from underneath her, leaving her on her knees, supported by the headboard she’s still clinging to for dear life, and he’s quick to kneel behind her, pulling out his throbbing erection and finally giving it some of the attention it’s craved. He places one hand on her hip, his fingers digging into the soft, supple flesh, and keeps her in her place as he shuffles a little closer and teases her pussy with the tip of his cock. She moans, rocking her hips back seemingly instinctively, and Soldier Boy wastes no time teasing the two of them for a moment longer.
He thrusts forward, feeling her pussy still pulsating from her orgasm, sucking him in perfectly, and he moans, his eyes beginning to roll as he hones in on the rapid speed of her heartbeat.
“Fuck, honey,” he hums, folding himself over her, “you almost feel as good as you taste.”
He presses his face into the side of her neck, dragging his teeth along her delicate skin, biting and sucking occasionally, knowing how much she loves that as he starts fucking into her from behind, wrapping his one arm around her front to keep her elevated just right. Y/N moans, reaching to hold onto his arm rather than the headboard as she fucks back into him too, her nails digging into his skin everytime he gets deep enough.
“Did that feel good?” he asks breathily against her ear. He can feel her nod, but she clearly can’t reply with words, which only makes him feel even more smug. “Good, so next time I tell you to sit, you better fucking sit,” he growls, his cock throbbing at just the thought of next time.
“Oh fuck,” she gasps out, her eyes fluttering closed. “Whatever you want, baby.”

started thinkkng about Apollo and Artemis as Black greek gods, which led me to thinking about modern au greek gods (as is often the course for me wrt mythology. thanks riordan) and although i also have many Thoughts about Black modern au Artemis, i got to thinking about how the greeks kind of went crazy about Apollo. Like you can look into some of the things the greeks were like "yeah apollo was also the god of THIS because he's the best" like the greeks loved apollo to the point it felt like a kid going "yeah superman can fly but he's also the smartest and he can do all his times tables without thinking about it and hes never been beat at kickball" so this along with Apollo also being a protector of youth please consider: Black modern au Apollo would be an actor that plays a superhero on an educational after school kids show. Black modern au Apollo would have a recurring bit on sesame street
That's cute! Since people associate him with sunlight, I gave him a giant golden afro, so that's what I think of when I think of Black Apollo. I can imagine being a kid and just being in awe of this beautiful man with this gorgeous 4C afro that shimmers.

What do you think about Marvel's move bringing back RDJ but now as Dr. Doom. I just wondered how this would affect Peter...
At first I was like OH MY GOD ROBERT DOWNEY JR. because I just adore! him! And of course I would love him back in Marvel, cuz I'm a sap and RDJ as Tony Stark revolutionized superhero cinema. Also "new mask same task" and striking the Tony Stark T pose? Legendary stuff.
Then I actually thought about the implications and the character, and I'm just not a fan. Bringing Downey back as anyone but Tony Stark is really weird, and doesn't make sense. Feels like an insane Tony Stark+Dr. Doom plot, which they made up just to get RDJ back cuz he's the money maker. Plus Dr. Doom deserves a new unique actor, especially a Romani one. I do love Dr. Doom as an MCU villain though, if he is cast properly. If they were gonna bring a Tony variant into the MCU make him a TONY variant, using Dr. Doom isn't it. Although under different circumstances I'd love to see more of RDJ as an antagonist, he's an incredible actor (his 1998 film US Marshalls started a fire in me for him to play more villains).
ANYWAYS - ignoring all the negative stuff, let's talk about Peter Parker!
I'd like to imagine a scene where Peter is fighting Doom - he's using his usual quips, being silly. He thinks it's just another day, another villain. Doom is incredibly strong and it's a tough fight, but Peter just manages the perfect hit to tear Doom's mask off.
Then he hesitates.
While scarred and cruel, the sight is still unmistakably familiar.
"Tony?"
Doom doesn't waver, he strikes Peter with deadly and immediate force in his moment of weakness.
Peter goes flying backwards, smashing through glass and brick.
He's hurt, badly, lying still on the floor beneath Doom. Bloody and torn Doom leaves him there, a pitiful and easily distracted kid. He doesn't know what he said, nor does he care. Von Doom just squashed a bug.
Left alone, Peter suffers from the ache in his body, the hit to his ego, and the biggest question - what did he see?
He questions whether he was drugged, or having a stress-induced hallucination. It doesn't make any sense for this to catch up to him in the middle of a battle. That's usually when he's most focused and level headed.
Sure, he used to see Mr. Stark. In billboard models with goatees, in the kind smile of a professor, in the corner of his eye when walking down the street. He never thought it was really him though, and it's been years since he's been struck so painfully with memories of his old mentor.
This, this is completely different. He stared right at Tony's face as clear as day.
Maybe Peter drags himself to the nearest hero. Still bloody and bruised, but he has to tell someone what he saw. Who is there? Who can he call? Hawkeye? Bruce Banner? Daredevil? They may not know Peter Parker, but he's still Spider-Man. He has a big name, and I'm curious who's taken notice.
Personally, I'd kill to finally get a Spider-Man and Fantastic Four team up in theatres. With the FF movie coming out and Doom being a big nemesis to the team I'm really hoping we get some Fantastic Four and Avengers interactions.
Anyways. Peter warns them, or does research on his own. He obsesses over this Doctor Doom.
Fast forward, maybe Doom and Peter work together against another evil, or Doom's own invention. Or maybe they're just near each other enough to get to know one another.
Doom and Stark do have some things in common, and I think that would strike a chord in Peter. Doom is an intellectual, a scientist, he's a self-absorbed perfectionist.
Doom commends Peter on his genius, his capabilities. Offers him a deal to join him and put his brain to good use. It would hit too close to home for Peter. A kid who wanted nothing more than to be like Tony Stark, to be strong and intelligent. To have his old mentor look at him and acknowledge his effort.
It messes with Peter's head and brings up his unresolved issues with Tony. It makes him sick.
Peter Parker got erased, and now it's like he's reliving his youth and trauma in some twisted and dark remake.
Maybe there's something bigger at play here. Maybe someone is haunting him, torturing him.
Laughing at him.

Hi everyone! Good day!
I can’t say that I’m fully back from hiatus because I’m still busy with schoolwork related to integrated subjects that I need to pass in order to graduate.
But I just have to post today because of the big news which I believe most of you already know 😆….
THEY ARE FINALLY HERE!!!!! AAAAHHHHHH!!! HUBBY STANLEY AND PAPI XENO😍😍😘😩😩😭!!! AND THEIR COLORS— THE HAIR💁🏼♂️, EYES👁, AND OOH OKAY LETS INCLUDE STAN’S LIPS AS WELL 🫦🫦AHHHHHHHH!!!!
I literally shouted loud in our dorm, and one of my dormmates was with me at that time. (Which I felt embarrassed after). The happiness after I wake up from my nap before going to school was the best thing that happened yesterday. I couldn’t even focus on the discussion because I keep thinking about Stan and Xeno and how soon we’ll get to see them in January😆😆
So what are my thoughts… THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL OF COURSE ESPECIALLY STANLEY 😩🫦 ohh la~ la~ Hands up literally ✋🏻🤚🏻 The official colors, I wouldn't be surprised that they used those colors for Xeno, since in the manga we can see that towards the end, they often use purplish-gray (or is it greyish-blue?) on him.
As for Stan’s…. A ha ha haha. I love they used light-blonde on him😍😍😍😩😩😩 he looks good on grey hair as well but I really see him more handsome with light-blonde hair (yup welcome to the blonde hair characters Stan 😌). For eyes, I kind of expect to use forest green ngl to add some mysteriousness on his character but that orangey-brown(?) still looks good. Kind of reminds me of Charlotte seeing Stan as a perfect superhero. A good choice since Stanley is depicted to as a knight, a strong soldier, and might be a (dangerous) hero as well. What I do not expect is his lips 😆😆 I headcanon-ed him having pinkish and glossy lips 🫦🫦 like Francois but having purple color on him makes sense since he is a smoker. I couldn’t say that he was a heavy smoker because we saw him on some parts of the manga that he was only chewing or letting the stick unlit in his mouth. I felt bad actually because when I first noticed his lips I immediately thought that ‘ohmygahd he is a heavy smoker’ instead of how kissable those lips were 🫣🫣🤭. STILL, HE IS BEAUTIFUL.
I would like to thank all the gods out there to push the people behind the announcement yesterday to post. It’s like giving us some light ya know? 😩😩
Anyways, that would be all for now. I still have to study for the two quizzes tomorrow. But I will expect to myself that I will frequently think about them 😌😌
AND ALSO THE CHOICE OF VOICE ACTORS AHHHHH!! I may not recognize them instantly like okarun=kamado tanjiro=Natsuki Hanae but a little search here and there and ohmygahd… Stanley Snyder = Gin Ichimaru😭😭… Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield = Natsuya Kirishima 🥹🥹🥹 Okay I am totally satisfied and I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEIR SCENES ON JANUARY😭😭😭😆😆😆
Okay that’s all. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!! Let’s just worship these magnificent photos from the official art and trailer.

My stance on Rogue originally intended to be black and based on Grace Jones is coincidentally the same as when I first heard Nightcrawler was supposed to be based on Michael Jackson
I was very surprised and somewhat intrigued but then I thought about it and realized that the excuses we got as to why there wasn't more efforts put in representing that intended inspiration sounded cheap AF and whatever was done in canon didn't corroborate with those intentions at all
Rogue had the artist not know what the actress looked like so... Let's just give up on the idea ! Claremont couldn't describe Grace Jones or get for one of her albums or one of her movie posters ! Nothing can be done for this black character now so let's make her white instead of anything else for representation !
The issue with Michael Jackson for Nightcrawler is the same as Grace Jones for Rogue since Michael Jackson started his musical career in the 60s, switched to a solo one in the 70s and was a big global star since the end of that decade onward so Nightcrawler would have been more than aware of his existence... But not once does he make a single reference to that big star. He makes references to Errol Flynn most of his time, an actor who had been dead for decades by the time he came to America, as well as other pop culture icons, yet MJ gets nothing when he would have already started making his famous music videos or short films. Not even Nightcrawler's fake appearance on his image inducer which he gets to choose and change at will is based on MJ, it's based on Errol Flynn. None of his mannerism are tied to Michael either, he was based on Dave Cockrum. His original concept was a demon that Dave thought off while in a submarine and when Len Wein took the character, he made him German-born. When we finally got a glimpse in the 90s at what Nightcrawler looks like when he was depowered, he was an average white dude with blue eyes... What part of him is supposed to be based on MJ
Youre right and I don't see how Nightcrawler could be based on MJ, when Nightcrawler was made it was actually back in the 60s but Cockrum never published him. The oldest sketch we have of him is from the 1973 Pitch for Legion of Superheroes.
Michael Jackson started his career at age 5 but didn't get famous until he was 10 going on 11 in 1969 with I Want you Back by the Jackson 5. How could Dave Cockrum look at kid Michael Jackson who didn't even have his 80s style by that point and come up with Nightcrawler? And even in 1975, Michael was still with the Jacksons and still rocking the big afro and wasn't really known for wearing red. So again this only works if anachronisms in real life are a thing.
Michael Jackson didn't get the Jheri Curls until like 1980 a whole 5 years after Nightcrawler's debut. He didn't get the Thriller Jacket which resembles Nightcrawler's suit until 1983.
The resemblance between them is coincidental, after 1980s you could probably some instances are based on MJ and I hope there are some examples.
And I'll be honest I would love it if the modern comics tried to add MJ influence such as his hologram device when he wants to look human. Though the quality of the comics now makes me doubt that happening.
I also feel like whoever keeps claiming X-Men characters were based on Black Musicians be it Claremont or otherwise just seem to be unintentionally showing everyone just how bad X-Men actually is in terms of representation if there's like 3 characters who are meant to be black but two have been depicted as white and one is ambiguous but Marvel loves depicting as white then wtf.
Of course Dazzler is the only one we actually have art of as a Black Woman and the only one who doesn't sound inconsistent with time with Michael Jackson or raises too many questions like how would Claremont not be able to describe Grace Jones or find a picture of her? Still though they are admitting to whitewashing a black character with that..
I'd like it to be the case that these 3 are actually depicted as black characters or a racially ambiguous brown but I don't think Marvel is gonna do that.

2023 Movie Journey #5: Ant-Man
ant-man. i loved this movie! it’s just an all-around good time, one of the best franchises in the whole mcu (for me, it’s now my second-favorite, after black panther).
and the story of me watching this is a fun one: i bought my ticket to see quantumania before i had ever seen this one or its sequel, presuming based on the cast and everybody i know liking these movies that i had really zero chance of regretting that choice. i just barely squeezed in these movies after buying the ticket--i watched this the night before going to the theater and then i got up early to squeeze the sequel into my morning before i left to see ant-man 3.
because of that time crunch, though, i didn’t fully review these after watching them. i took notes that look more like stream of consciousness bullet points, and now it’s like a year later and i have to make those make sense! lol. here goes.
first off, the action sequences in this movie were way more dynamic because of how it played with the size shifting, and as somebody who desperately needs a reason to care about action sequences, i enjoyed that. they kept it interesting. on top of that, it had so much heist and warmth and fantasy science that this movie balanced the (for me, excessive) action.
i got a full-blown anxiety stomachache during the big heist, because i liked all of the characters and didn’t want any of them to get hurt. special mention here goes out to ant-thony the flying ant: i loved him as soon as we met him, and i also had an instant fear that he wouldn’t survive. thanks, honey i shrunk the kids, for permanently scarring me emotionally as a child. now i am an adult who is terrified of bugs but also has to let them live in my spaces because i cannot kill them.
scott lang is probably the most sympathetic superhero, though of course that’s subjective. but even though he’s not my favorite (that’s been shuri since black panther), the fact that he only cares about two things in the world when we meet him--and that’s his daughter, and punishing greedy evil rich people and helping those they hurt? just, excellent. this is marvel doing leverage, and i have no complaints.
the graphics of the ants are done really well in this, the cgi wasn’t annoying at all...but they still squick me out. i just don’t like bugs. ant-thony deserved a memorial from scott, though. i didn’t like the feeling that he was replaced by a giant ant pet at the end like all ants are interchangeable. scott had bonded with him! i get that during the action he couldn’t exactly stop and reflect or anything, but either you named your ant friend and you’re genuinely bummed he died, or it’s a punchline and you’ll never think about him again. i prefer the latter.
and like i said, i loved all the characters, but luis’s monologues in the form of attempting to relay important information are the literal best. he is me anytime i try to tell a story. ”i just get excited and stuff.”
my one character exception is the guy played by bobby cannavale, because i just had no use for him, lol. in fact, i didn’t even realize it was him! i kept thinking bobby cannavale’s character looked kind of like bobby cannavale, but not actually like him, through most of the movie--until i was looking something else up and saw his name in the cast. scott’s daughter was great for lots of reasons but her total unimpressedness with bobby cannavale delighted me because i felt the same way.
i thought they handled making scott and hope romantic very well. the actors have good chemistry so i was rooting for them, but the push/pull between antagonistic and flirty is difficult to do successfully, and they could only move things along so much from her open resentment towards him in the beginning to them being a team by the end. this was too lighthearted a movie to spend much time on Them, so just nodding to it and then making jokes and moving along felt right.
also i loved that anthony mackie was in this. i’m really not familiar with his character, i saw age of ultron but barely remember it, and i double checked--i’ve never seen any other mcu movie sam is in. BUT i do know the actor, from the hate u give and elsewhere and he’s excellent. so he was a cool choice of character to include and it gave me a nice way to see a little more sam.
the end bits were neat, too. i really love that in hope, they created a genuinely strong female character--not always nice, in fact sometimes an asshole...aka a real person just like male characters are allowed to be. so it felt earned when she realized her father was finally going to work with her at the end.
and while i find it annoying, as a mostly non-viewer of mcu movies, to have bits with totally other characters and worlds shoved in after the film is over to weave the worlds together and try and make you care about it all...i adore anytime a movie is like ‘X will return’ because when i enjoyed the movie, it’s like a little concluding gift to promise me more--i was really happy when shang chi did the same.
in the end, my biggest takeaway from this movie is that it is a rare crowd-pleaser. this is one of those movies that, when you’ve managed to avoid watching it for eight years and everybody is eager to tell you how great it is, you can feel a little suspicious of the hype. but it IS that good! as soon as i saw it, i showed it to the one person i knew who hadn’t already seen it, and despite her doubts going in, she also loved it.
so i can recommend this one to almost anybody, and i wish more movies like this still got made, that are lovable for broad audiences. (i get that marvel movies in general make obscene amounts of money, but i certainly don’t care about most of them, so that’s not what i mean. i want more action movies that make an effort to appeal to people besides action fans. clearly it’s possible!)
if you have a serious aversion to ants, i would probably advise you to steer clear. but if you like thievery or dads and daughters or michael douglas or a brisk romp with science, this is a really great movie.

Actually spend like an hour writing this before accidentally closing the app so this post might be a bit shitty. Apologies in advance.
Hi anon! I don't know who you are but you sound like a very interesting person. I actually found figuring out what to recommend you a bit challenging so instead of settling on one I kinda made a list. Hope you don't mind
•MOVIES:
•Forrest Gump:
A cult classic comedy. I first watched this movie a few years back with my father. If you haven't watched it already then I definitely recommend it.
“Forrest Gump is a 1994 epic romantic comedy-drama film based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom. The film was a huge commercial success, earning US$677 million worldwide during its theatrical run making it the top grossing film in North America released that year. The film garnered a total of thirteen Academy Award nominations, of which it won six, including Best Picture, Best Visual Effects, Best Director (Robert Zemeckis), and Best Actor (Tom Hanks).”
“The film tells the story of a man and his epic journey through life meeting historical figures, influencing popular culture and experiencing first-hand historic events of the late 20th century while being largely unaware of their significance, due to his borderline intellectual disability. The film differs substantially from the book on which it was based.”
Series
•Legends of tomorrow
Thought some parts might be a bit difficult to understand without having seen any other Arrowverse series, I'm pretty confident you can watch it as a standalone.
The thing you need to understand about this series is that the first season flopped. Hard. It was supposed to be a SERIOUS superhero series filled with action and shit. But the finished result was just. Pretty bad.
You would have of course expected that after that the series would have been canceled right? Nope. While still a series about time traveling superheroes it took on a more light-hearted, chaotic and comedic approach. The results were great. Personally when I rewatched other Arrowverse shows which I loved when younger I find myself disliking them a lot. But not this one. I can honestly say I've rewatched it more than five times.
Bonus: the main characters change a lot over the seasons and while there are plenty of queer characters the only protagonist that stays for all seasons is sapphic.
When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
While the first season received mixed reviews, the series enjoyed improved reception in subsequent seasons, which saw a shift in tone, as well as frequent changes to both the setting, themes, and cast of characters as the show went on. Originally premiering as a self-serious superhero drama where heroes battle high stakes throughout time, the consensus of critics was that the show found its feet as a more light-hearted DC series associated with meta-humor, social commentary, and the greater creative freedom afforded to its cast of mainly lesser-known or wholly original characters.
•First kill
I'm gonna be honest with you on this one. I barely remember anything about it. I binged it when it first came out and it was honestly kinda meh.
BUT I do remember that I loved the main pairing which is a sapphic, interracial couple, vampire x monster hunter.
When it's time for teenage vampire Juliette to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope. But much to Juliette's surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter, from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won't be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for...
•Chilling adventures of Sabrina
Yet another one of my favorites. I might be way off with this one as it's mostly based on vibes and not something specific you said. It also has plenty of queer characters.
The series is centered on the Archie Comics character Sabrina Spellman, portrayed by Kiernan Shipka. Originally in development during September 2017 at the CW, the series was intended to be a companion series to Riverdale; however, in December 2017, the project was moved to Netflix with a straight-to-series order, consisting of twenty episodes. Filming took place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Reimagines the origin and adventures of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist," this adaptation finds Sabrina Spellman wrestling to reconcile her dual nature--half-witch, half-mortal--while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family, and the daylight world humans inhabit.
Finally
•Books
•Percy Jackson and the Olympians
I think you've most likely read this or at least heard of it but im putting it here either way cause its one of my favorites even though it butchers some myths
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a fantasy novel series by American author Rick Riordan. The first book series in his Camp Half-Blood Chronicles, the novels are set in a world with the Greek gods in the 21st century. The series follows the protagonist, Percy Jackson, a young demigod who must prevent the Titans, led by Kronos, from destroying the world.
•Temeraire
Actually, I haven't finished the series yet. I finished book three a few years back. But I really love it (it has dragons!!!) and it's written by one of my favorite authors (Naomi Novik).
Temeraire is a series of nine alternate history fantasy novels written by American author Naomi Novik.[1] The novels follow the adventures of Captain William Laurence and his dragon, the eponymous Temeraire, and reimagine events of the Napoleonic Wars with "an air force of dragons, manned by crews of aviators".[2] His Majesty's Dragon, the first entry in the series, won the Compton Crook Award in 2007[3] and was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Novel the same year.[4] Temeraire: In the Service of the King, an omnibus volume collecting the first three novels, won the Locus Award for Best First Novel in 2007.[5] Temeraire was nominated for the Hugo Award for Best Series in 2017.[6]

AQUAMAN THE LAST KINGDOM Why do people say it's horrible? I don't understand...
Well, I recently saw this movie, and I honestly don't understand people. Why do they say it's bad and horrible?
It is a quite acceptable film that passes the filter of a superhero adventure film, yes, it does not surpass the first, but it is a well-made film, and it is not to throw everything at it.
Where do I think the error could be? in that perhaps they should have killed either the child or Aquaman himself, this more than anything because it would make it clear that this is the only DC movie in this universe that is already almost broken, of course one sees this and in He doesn't really know what's going to happen from now on, I honestly don't see this Aquaman being part of JG's new DC universe since he has a different tone, a more... flashy one, so I don't know.
But what the movie itself is, I think it is enjoyable and defends itself quite well, we have a clear script that knows where it begins and where it ends, I mean in that aspect James Wang does it well, I have seen worse things in DC that are not even understood .
As for the cast of actors, it is also great, the chemistry between the two brothers Orm and Arthur is great, Patrick Wilson and Jason Momoa do their job well, now as for Amber Heard as Mera
I also feel like she does it very well, the truth is I thought she would appear less but no, she really has a great participation and I loved how Aquaman helped, but what I liked the most was the dynamic of both of them.
And now with all the stuff about women being glory and men being trash, seeing something like that in a MOVIE IS GRATEFUL, it is appreciated that there are strong men who are strong heroes and are not TREATED AS USELESS and yes, strong women but a balance, in this movie, both protected each other, both were equally strong, so this is one of the most important reasons to say that this movie is not bad.
Anyway, if you like movies like that, I really recommend watching it, you're going to have a good time and laugh a lot.
Anyway, we'll see each other in the next post.

Game Night (2018)
A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves entangled in a real-life mystery when the shady brother of one of them is seemingly kidnapped by dangerous gangsters.
JayBell: I'm gonna be honest and say my expectations for comedies are always really low. It's just so easy to make a bad comedy movie. But I have to admit that Game Night is one of my favorites in recent years. Maybe because there's a mystery wrapped up in it too, and I love a good mystery. I like trying to figure out who "the bad guy" is, so combining the mystery element with the comedy really works for me.
I think the writing is overall pretty great. The cast has good chemistry. The mystery is not so easily predictable, and I like that there were some many different twists and turns. They even managed to throw in some deeper, more personable story lines (exploring the complicated relationship between two brothers, a couple facing infertility in the next stage of their lives).
My favorite of course is creepy cop neighbor Jesse Plemmons and his faithful little dog. Jesse Plemmons' delivery in this role is just so funny. It's like they wanted to put a horror movie character into a comedy and this contrast just adds to the humor.
It's a fun movie that succeeds my (albeit low) expectations for a comedy, and that's all I'm ever really looking for.
Rating: 7/10 cats 🐈
Anzie: Okkkay so I love anything Jason Bateman is in, and I have to say this is for sure not his best movie, but it was definitely fun for movie night. And a neck breaker. One of the best parts that it was like the never ending story, it never dulled and if you thought it was there was something that just made you feel like realllly nooooo whyyyyy. I will say all the actors, even being pretty big, noticeable people were believable in their roles. And although at all the talk of Ed Norton- the cameo of someone entirely unexpected made me wanna die in a good way. But I do have a qualm 😬 the stupidity between Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman’s character did make me wanna cringe and scream. Bc like it really was painful and not necessary to the story. And they’re like game night superhero’s but they’re acting this dumb. Uggg. But yeah it was a solid who dun it that did have me antsy until the end. And special shout-out to the weird neighbor and his dog.
Rating: 5.5/10 Cats 🐈

Rakesh nodded, getting used to the monkey only because they were actively trying to ignore how overall creepy it was. In a strange kind of 'welcome to this island where you are dead but hey! You get some bending powers!'. The irony wasn't lost on them. They wondered what sicko fantasy came up with this. It felt like they were building up to something greater. They all washed up, from all over, got powers, and soon they would be fighting each other in the arena like in that one movie that was made from the Prince of Persia - which had been a total flop of course. They felt like they were in the Hunger Games, only nobody realised it yet.
"Oh, yes, sure." They tried to smile more hopeful, but the emotion barely reached their eyes. They never felt like the type to be getting super powers. They would love to work for superheroes, those law cases seemed interesting, even if they only happened in movies. Yes, Daredevil was their favourite superhero. But right now, it just gave him a headache, and a stomachache, and possibly several other aches. They wished they could be left alone by this attunement business, but most people turned into small children when they got super powers, and while they couldn't blame them, they wanted to not have to deal with it just yet. "Fun elements."
"Ah," Rakesh quickly shook their head before dangerous thoughts would snap him to a halt. They were certain they would lay awake later, having made their mind up about everyone being dead, or thinking they had. "How did you find out you were sisters? Half-sisters?" They asked. "Did she know before she ended up on the island?"
Rakesh paused a moment, not sure how to react. Most people didn't understand it, were not familiar to the kind of expectance placed upon them and many of their generation and from their culture. It wasn't that they had been forced, Rakesh liked being a lawyer, but would they have rather been an actor? Sure, that wasn't the problem. They shrugged. "My parents came to America so I could work in a job that would matter to them and to the people at home. I figured my children would get the freedom that I didn't have, I am their own child, so the responsibility of making a lot of money and taking care of them would become my burden, and I agree that the chances of making a lot of money isn't cut out for most, certainly not if well…" They didn't think they would need to explain that to Tamyra, she had become famous, but she was one of the few who looked like her who did. He couldn't name a single Indian actor who was famous in Hollywood, not blockbuster worthy at least. "And I also valued what I was doing as a lawyer, I certainly saved a lot of people and their families." And sometimes they didn't, but they tried.
"Ah… so… I should be worried?"
Rakesh shrugged, they didn't want to divulge the information, not to anyone. They had never, working together with Kaz was and had been as far as they would describe their situation. They shook their head. "Just regular things, sometimes he needed some extra information, and I had very stable routes to get it. So… everything really, he would usually ask me for help at least once during one of his investigations."
RAKESH.
Rakesh nodded. “But not… well, I think it was meant as a children show, but it really was more than that, the storylines, the characters, the way they did…” He offered another awkward smile. Of course he’d watched it as an adult, and he was trying to defend his interests, but how necessary was that?
They didn’t see how she could view this as positive, this weird changing of shapes, of water, giving people heart-attacks. They couldn’t see how being able to bend fire or earth could help life on a daily basis. Sure, you could make a fire or build houses, but what kept people from using it on each other? What kept people from experimenting with the limits of it until someone got hurt? Were there rules in place regarding these… this bending ability? They’d already forgotten the word. They gritted their teeth together, sad to hear they too would be faced with it. If only.
“That's… disappointing, I guess. I…” The idea of getting something like water freaked them out, but they felt like life would gladly play a cruel joke on them. “And… does it… uhm, have anything to do with personality? Or where you’re from… what you get?”
They nodded, so many connections, they started worrying that it was Kaz’ fault after all that they had ended up here, knowing nobody, or perhaps it was Alex, who they had the connection with, and they could all trace them being on the island back to one person or other, to this first person Mike or something, that they’d heard about, in passing, a few times, when they were still freaking out.
“You never knew your sister before?” Half-sister maybe, hidden away? But then how did they find that out?
Rakesh offered a light laugh. “Uhm no, the… main actress kind of took over the whole project and we had to reshoot a lot, the director was also never content or even slightly happy, so there was a lot of fighting, I am pretty sure I missed half of it because I was having fun with Alex being on that movie,” they admitted. At the question about themselves, Rakesh paused for a moment, not great at answering personal questions, not great at being so honest in general. They took a moment, then took another, then shrugged. “My parents wanted me to be a lawyer, I couldn’t combine them,” they said.
“Ah… the jungle? The place where we’re not supposed to go?” Why was Kaz in the jungle??? They sucked in air through their teeth. “Oh uhm, missing person cases mostly,” they said. They left it vague, even if they were dead now, what Kaz and them had done was anything but legal. They could’ve lost their job for it, they probably still could. If they weren’t dead and all.
— ⋆ ✯ ⋆ —
It was meant for children but it really wasn’t - Tamyra just hummed and nodded along, kind of enjoying how Rakesh dug themselves deeper and deeper in, not saving the situation at all. Though it was still very much annoying that people kept referring to attunements based on a children’s cartoon.
Her monkey really wasn’t a favorite, she could tell, but she didn’t want to get rid of the monkey just yet. Iyaz needed some time to get used to it too, along with others, and it was cool. When could you see something shaped out of water and be in control like this? Never. (Well, not until now, form this point on, Rakesh could watch Tamyra play with water from time to time on the beach if he wanted to.) They’d change their minds about the attunements being disappointing, most people did eventually.
“As far as we can tell, there’s no rhyme or reason behind who gets what - sometimes it fits the person’s personality, sometimes it’s total opposite of what you’d expect.” She was pretty sure some would have thought she’d get fire originally, but water was a perfect choice, not that she was biased or anything, and Tamyra was delighted by it. “But most people find joy in their given attunement. There’s some cool and fun elements in everything.”
Tamyra shook her head at Rakesh’s question. “No, unfortunately I didn’t. And it took the island some time to let us together, but it’s been about– getting close to a year now, I think, and it’s really great that I got to meet her. Both her and my nephew, her son. He is also here.”
So Alex was fun on set but all of it was a shitshow. It wasn’t something Tamyra never experienced before, she could relate to people just being shitty in general on set (sometimes she contributed to it herself, being the biggest shithead, but she never would have admitted it, she really was a delight if you asked her), what was more interesting to her was the fact that their parents wanted Rakesh to become a lawyer.
“And you just– complied? It’s your life, not your parents’. If you wanted to act, why not just put your heels down and insist on it?” It would have been Tamyra’s question no matter what the occupation Rakesh left behind was, but the fact that he left acting because he was told to bugged Tamyra - where was the passion? Where was the dedication? Where was the sweat, blood and tears to get to the top so one could choose what they were doing and could tell the kind of stories they wanted?
Well, apparently there wasn’t any of that in them…
“Oh, yeah, the jungle itself is mostly just a jungle, but it’s adjacent to the most dangerous part of the island, the labyrinth, which if you get into it, you will most likely not leave it. But it’s tricky, because the labyrinth moves and shifts and you can easily stumble into it without even realizing it, so being in the jungle isn’t the safest place to be at either. Not to mention stuff sometimes escape the labyrinth, too.” Granted, Kaz was capable, one of the most capable person Tamyra knew on this island, but she still worried.
“Really? That sounds interesting. What kind of help did you provide for him?” Was it random missing cases, or did Rakesh help Kaz in trying to find his sister? She didn’t want to ask that outright, wasn’t sure just how close they were to Kaz, though.

Flufftober 9 - Homelander
Homelander x Reader
"It will never work, it's ridiculous."
"Try them."
"They'll all recognize me."
"In this old comic, the superhero puts on glasses and nobody notices him on the street."
"Y/N. This is real life."
"John. Put on the glasses."
Even though he didn't see the point at all, Homelander sighed as he took the glasses Y/N handed him to put it in front of his eyes. They weren't even sunglasses to be incognito, but simple accessory glasses.
With that, Y/N had more or less ordered him to put on a stupid t-shirt and jeans.
Well, "ordered" might not have been the right word, since no one was ordering the Homelander.
But Y/N was special. The only person in the world who treated him like a human being, who didn't ask him to be perfect all the time, who listened to him with patience and kindness, and who loved him despite everything.
Few people were aware of their relationship, and Vought employees quickly understood that it was necessary to avoid this subject, and to stay away from Y/N, while making sure that she did not miss anything and that she was safe.
"I could put on a real costume, with a mask. That's the point of this silly party."
"One, you hate wearing a mask. Metaphorically and effectively. Second, it wouldn't be funny if you wore a mask, or some other disguise, when you more or less wear one all year round. For Halloween, that's great that you play the role of the normal guy. And finally, I want to have the pleasure of seeing your sweet face."
"Hmm." he growled, trying not to blush.
At first, they had planned to spend the evening in the tower, watching horror movies and eating sweets, away from the crowds.
But Y/N had insisted that they went outside. They hardly ever went out. It was complicated since everyone always recognized him, approaching to claim photos and autographs. Journalists would come to film them.
Everyone would then know that Homelander was dating someone. Who wasn't a sup.
And he didn't want that.
Not because his contract forbade it, or because he was ashamed of Y/N. But because he didn't want people to start criticizing or insulting her. Following her everywhere, asking prying questions and trying to use her to get to him.
It was better if nobody knew anything, and they were very happy like that.
But he could understand that Y/N wanted more. That she can't stand being locked up. He had been locked up for much of his life.
"It's for you too, John." she said, hugging him. He didn't know what he liked more between her hugs and the fact that she was the only one to call him John. "You deserve to have a normal life, outside of your... work. You have to breathe, have fun, without fear of being judged. Tonight is the perfect night. Everyone will be dressed up as you, no one will pay attention to a guy with glasses walking down the street with his girlfriend. We can do a lot of things ! Eat ice cream in the park, have dinner at a restaurant, go to the movies ! Everything you want !"
It was so adorable that Homelander followed her outside. He couldn't deny her anything, even when he thought her ideas were ridiculous and wouldn't work.
Yet, against all odds, no one seemed to notice as they walked down the street.
No one looked at him with wide eyes, a big smile, screaming his name, pointing at him and running towards him excitedly.
And in a way that was a very good thing. That was the point, what they wanted, to have time together outside, undisturbed.
But it disturbed Homelander a lot not to be recognized. Admired. The center of attention.
Even if having Y/N with him should have been enough to fill him with happiness, he didn't like being ignored.
"They don't see me at all."
"Welcome to the life of a normal man, John. People don't look at each other. Only stars are important, actors, singers, sometimes politicians, and of course superheroes. But tonight you are John, a unknown in the crowd, who will quietly enjoy life."
"They don't see me at all." he repeated, looking at everyone with a dark expression. "They might at least have a doubt. Come and ask me if by any chance I won't be The Homelander."
"... That would be very annoying, and we don't want that at all, do we ? We want to have some time to ourselves."
"You don't understand. They should recognize me. Simple glasses shouldn't have that effect."
"So you're not happy my plan is working ?"
"Oh yes, that's great ! My fans only love my costume, I'm so glad I found this. Not only do they don't care who I really am, they don't even memorize my face ! No, that's out of the question ! Hey ! Guys ! Look who's there ?!"
Pulling out his glasses, Homelander began to fly, grinning when the crowd finally turned to him, chanting his name as they admired him as the God he was.
It was much more usual for him to find himself surrounded, giving all these insects what they wanted, letting them approach an important being for once in their miserable existence.
But his sense of joy disappeared when he noticed that Y/N was gone.
He quickly excused himself to fly over the city to find her. It wasn't difficult, because she had simply returned to the tower.
Sitting on the couch in their bedroom, she was watching television, not moving when he joined her.
"You are angry."
"I'm not."
And it was the truth. Which wasn't necessarily a good thing.
"... You are disappointed ?" he tried.
"Not really. I should have expected that. I should have known that I would never be enough for you. I thought you would like to breathe a little, get out of the costume, be yourself. I really thought that would be nice if we went outside together for the first time, without anyone bothering us, just you and me, John and Y/N, like a normal couple. But you hate John. You hate normality. You are a little ashamed of me too, even if you refuse to admit it. I truly love you, you know that ? I love John, and I love Homelander. But if you want us to stay locked up here, fine. You just have to say it."
"I... I was stupid, sorry. I panicked. I'm not used to people not looking at me, and it's true that even if their opinion doesn't really matter to me , I appreciate that they adore me. But you are more important. I ruined this evening."
"It doesn't matter." she sighed, still without looking at him.
"It's true. It's true, it doesn't, because we'll have other nights. Your plan is working after all, I can put my jeans and glasses back on whenever I want, and we can go outside like a normal couple."
"You mean in a year, the next Halloween ?"
"No." he said as he approached, resting his forehead against her head. "Whenever you want. As soon as we have free time. I'm going to work on myself, I'm going to get used to not being the center of attention. In any case, just of your attention, which is more than enough. "
"... You promise ?" Y/N asked, finally turning to him, her eyes full of tears and hope.
Deep down, Homelander knew he couldn't really promise that. He had a lot of tough issues to deal with, especially when it came to his popularity.
But for Y/N, he wanted to try. So he told her that he loved her before kissing her, because that was the only honest answer he could give her.

Random thoughts on fatphobia in the MCU fandoms
Namor
I would have never thought Namor belonged in this discussion but apparently anybody who hasn't chiseled abs isn't "in shape"...
There's a Marvel artist who made a body-shaming post saying that there was a mistake somewhere because that Namor isn't as in shape as he should ne. And I've actually seen several other negative comments about Namor's look and especially this scene and I can't believe how much society and blockbusters has done irreparable damage if you believe for one second there is anything wrong with his body. When I look at this picture I see a good looking actor who's probably going to nail it as Namor, but apparently some people had comments to make about his body. You'd rather see actors who dehydrate themselves and are on the verge of fainting just to have a scene with a six-pack?? Why???
Phastos
There wasn't too much fatphobia directed at Phastos because he was simply ignored by the fandom....I have never seen something like that. For a fandom that claimed that all they were waiting for representation only to ignore the first and only canon openly Gay superhero in the MCU was unbelievable. And of course, racism plays a major role in this, but so does fatphobia. If I compare it to the Sambucky ship that was still considered "a small ship" in 2016 after Civil War aired, there was still so much more content, fics, Fanart and posts even thought Sam and Bucky had only shared 2 scenes together (that lasted less than a minute). And I'm not putting the blame on fanartists or fic writers for the lack of Phastos content, because they can't create content if the fandom is barely there to begin with. I don't feel like creating content for it either, because the fandom is pretty much dead.
And it's not a problem of screentime because Phastos had as much screentime as the other Eternals characters and him and his husbnad had as much screentime as Sambucky in Civil War, or other popular MCU ships with bigger fandoms and yet...
Thor
Let me tell you, I may have been the only one in this but when I saw Thor in Endgame, I was happy they had went to a more natural/normal look for a superhero for once... I thought it was realistic (and even though I've never been a fan of fatsuits I didn't mind the storyline) and I loved that they didn't make him lose weight by the end of the movie, but rather showed his journey to finding himself again but that journey wasn't focused on losing weight but finding his worth again, gaining hope,...
So let me tell you how surprised I was when I came to Tumblr, and Twitter after the movie to only see comments about how "they had ruined the character and messed UP all his progress"....interesting to know that some people view a character gaining weight as him being ruined.. And don't get me wrong, I understand being mad at the fat jokes in the movie, and it's important to call that out, but the comments weren't about that.... A lot of people weren't upset about the fat jokes or the fatsuit, but by how Thor looked ... They were very transparent and the reactions just shocked me.
#namor#wakanda forever#phastos#eternals#thor#avengers endgame#as usual this are only my thoughts...always open for discussion😉
