Teen Wolf headcannons (Martin and Holloway family)
Lydia’s dad has an older brother and a younger sister. Mr. Martin’s name is William, his brother’s name is Milo, and his sister’s name is Billie
Milo, like Mr. Martin himself, didn’t get the Banshee gene from their mother, but their sister did.
Milo had a son, and a wife, Emma. His wife died while giving birth to their son.
After Milo’s son was born he didn’t want to keep him after the kid had killed Emma. (The kid didn’t actually, Milo just thought that he did.)
Billie took Milo’s son in, and moved out of Beacon Hills to live with her girlfriend, Jolene (she named herself this), and her girlfriend’s dad, Robert, in Oklahoma on Robert’s farm when the boy was five.
Jolene and Robert’s last name is Raven
Milo had taken his wife’s last name, Holloway.
Milo’s son’s name was Nolan.
Nolan grew up calling his aunt “Mom”, he knew she was his aunt, but he didn’t care.
When Nolan was a year old Billie and Jolene had a daughter named Ally.
Billie, Jolene, Nolan, and Ally moved back to Beacon Hills right before Nolan gets introduced in the show.
Billie and Jolene got married as soon as possible.
Nolan had gotten the Banshee gene, just like Lydia did, but it wasn’t dormant in him like it had been in Lydia for some reason.
Nolan grew up doing Archery (since he was five) and Gymnastics (starting when he was four and stopping when he turned fifteen). He started doing Lacrosse in fifth grade.
Robert (Jolene’s father) was bitten by an alpha werewolf, so Jolene was born a werewolf.
Ally didn’t get the Banshee gene, but she was born a werewolf, like Jolene.
Robert is an alpha, because he ended up killing the alpha that bit him.
Nolan’s middle name is Rayne.
AND EVERY ONE LIVES, except for Milo he died, and his wife. ALSO MONROE, and the war, NEVER HAPPENED!!!

Leon S. Kennedy Headcanons
Author’s Note: As you know, I write Leon in a certain way. Here’s headcanons that I have for him...I think about him a bit too much, I fear. My desire for Leon to be a country boy is the product of living in the south and also some projecting, lol. Some of these delve pretty deep and some of these are niche. If you want to share any headcanons that you have, please do. I love creating lore for characters that we know little about! Thank you to @roseglazedlens for reading over most of these for me! I’ll also be doing a NSFW version as well, the alphabet prompt.
Content warnings: Mature rating, no gendered language used for reader, nothing sexual but general discussion of Leon and his life so that involves alcohol, depression, suicidal thoughts, trauma.
NSFW Alphabet
Leon is more or less introverted from how he behaves in the games and movies, I was thinking probably INFJ-T for his personality type.
He’s bisexual. He likes whoever he can be comfortable and feel safe around, though with his hinted attractions, he prefers dark haired people.
There’s been speculation that Raccoon City is based around Springfield, Missouri, based on a few factors, so I tried to think of where he could be from. I was choosing based on my desire to have him connected to the south in some way while also not being too far from Springfield. We don’t know how far he traveled or how long it took him to get there during the events of RE2, unfortunately.
I thought of specifically around where Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee meet. It would also be a convenient area for his family’s mentioned crime involvement.
Also why he doesn’t have much of an accent due to being near four different states. He is of Italian descent which is one of the canon things we know. KY, MO, and TN have a higher percentage of Italian Americans in the south from what I’ve researched.
If I had to choose a specific city, it would be Paducah, Kentucky. Definitely more of a small town kind of guy. It’s also around 5 hours from Springfield.
I don’t believe he went into the foster care system, though it’s not stated. But I like to think the police officer who saved him adopted him.
Also I feel like he’s autistic in some way, generally based on how he acts and carries himself in the games. (He’s just like me fr)
His favorite brand of cars is Jeep.
He’s definitely the type of Jeep owner to wave at every Jeep he passes by while driving.
We know he likes Ducati too, he drives a XDiavel in Vendetta and DI.
He can do minor repairs, on both cars and motorcycles. A bit of a mechanic in his spare time when he’s home from missions, helping some of the others when they have car troubles.
His love language is definitely acts of service.
Even platonically, if he overhears a friend having a bad day, he’ll stop and ask if they need help with their work, or get them their favorite snack.
Romantically, he’ll bring you flowers, drive by your pharmacy to check if you have anything that needs to be picked up, tidies up the house, cooks for you, prepares you lunch for work, gives you massages if you’ve had a tough day.
He’s not the best at cooking, but learns quickly, so if you give him tips on how to improve, he’ll apply them to the next time he makes something.
Pretty sure blue is his favorite color, we see him wearing it a lot.
There’s speculation on what he smells like, I think even some perfumes made for him? But personally, I don’t think he would wear typical masculine scents, something more alone the lines of citrus/clean/fresh. One I think he would wear is Nautica Blue by Nautica. It smells so good.
He has some religious background. With how Leon behaves/carries himself, it leads me to believe his family were a part of the Church of Christ, which would correlate with the location I chose.
Leon, to this day, follows the church’s principles: “In essentials, unity; in opinions, liberty; in all things, love.” It’s something he repeats often in his head.
He sings, having taken it up at church. After the incident with his family, he continued, as it reminded him of attending, and of his mother, how she would sing him to sleep. He likes to pop into random churches during times of service.
Not straying too far in, just near the exit to join in with singing and reminisce on his own memories.
With singing, he's a baritone.
His favorite song is We Shall Be Free by Garth Brooks.
He’s all over with his music taste, from alternative to country, divorced dad rock, pop, to gospel hymns. If it has a catchy tune, he’ll like it, not too picky with music.
To get into the sad bits, we know he liked to drink to cope, a functional alcoholic.
He would have trouble sleeping through the night, drinking helped.
Sees a therapist and isn’t the most truthful during meetings. Afraid to open up about everything that’s happened to him.
In RE6, you can see a document where Leon confesses he’s thought about suicide, as far back as RE2, so he’s struggled with depression.
Doesn’t do well with large crowds or gatherings. Stays on the outskirts of any event unless he has to go deeper into the throng for the sake of a mission.
Firm believer of his corny one liners:
*Gets bill* “What’s the damage?”
“You’re barking up the wrong tree.”
*Starts raining* “We needed this.”
Also looks out the window/stands on the porch when there’s a storm coming.
He keeps a memory box. It holds items he’s kept from each of his missions. It’s small things, like a key, a piece of paper, photos, a keychain. He looks in it every once in a while, so he doesn’t forget about what he’s done, who he’s helped, and those who didn’t make it.
Not the best with technology, basic knowledge of what he needs to do and how to get to things, but doesn’t use it much outside of work.
He has to ask you for help sometimes, thankful you’re more knowledgeable on the topic.
Will always tell you goodbye when he leaves for missions, no matter what method he has to use.
Face-to-face, video chat, or even going to your work. He just wants to see you one more time before departing, in case it could be the last time. Though it’s unsaid between you two, it’s in the air, tinging it with sadness and trepidation.
When he comes back, though, he immediately notifies you and wants to see you as soon as possible. He holds you a little tighter than he usually does for the first few days after returning from a mission.

Webby Reviews Horror: Thirteen Ghosts (2001)
Thir13en (or Thirteen/13) Ghosts is a story about a family that inherits a bizarre and beautiful house from a late relative that contains many secrets- and a basement full of murderous ghosts.
This is one of my personal favorites and has been since I was a kid. It came out in 2001 so the earliest I could have seen it would be when I was around 12 or so, and that’s assuming I saw it the year it came out, which I literally have no way of knowing. I’m going to operate under the assumption I saw it at 13 because it’s likely, and it’s thematically hilarious to me.
Also it definitely is one of about three ghost related movies that really solidified ghosts as being my ‘thing’.
Enough about that, let’s talk about the movie! Review under the cut, and as always, SPOILERS ahead!
I literally cannot overstate how much I love this movie. It’s one of the first real horror movies I ever saw as a child, and it’s definitely one of the ones that altered my brain chemistry to a degree that could never be undone. SO much of what I love in a horror movie comes from this one.
Weird house? Check. Loads of ghosts? Check, obviously. Pathetic but attractive guy covered in blood? Check. Jokes that make me cackle but don’t interrupt the flow of the movie? Check. Body horror that makes my skin crawl? Check, check, check. A twist that’s set up previously in the movie if you’re REALLY sharp eyed? Check. Environmental storytelling, a weird morbid kid, two worlds in one space, and a WHOLE LOT of lore. It’s got it all!
The cold open is so good. It establishes the level of violence the dead are capable of (The Breaker having more than tripled his kill count after his death, for example), and gives us some major players and their clashing personalities. It also kind of reminds me of the opening scene in Jurassic park where they’re moving a raptor into the enclosure and it all goes to hell in a similar way.
Every new thing that gets mentioned just draws me further in, and I, a known sucker for lore, want to know everything. If I lived in that world, Cyrus would have had me hook, line, and SINKER, as long as he promised me ghost knowledge lmao. I’d be dead as hell so fast.
The inciting tragedy for the main characters plays over the opening credits and this, too, is something I adore. The environment changes along with the audio- a cheerful house with a loving family fades into a crummy, box-filled apartment while the anguished cries of Arthur and his children mourn the loss of their mother Jean as the camera pans to the left. We don’t have to see it to know what happened, or how much pain its caused.
One thing I love, love, love about this movie is how much story is told through the environment and small details alone, rather than just explained by the characters. Arthur doesn’t say he’s struggling to keep his shit together, but his instant mood swing at a small inconvenience sure does. The past due bills pinned to the corkboard in the background do, too. The set designers did an amazing job- I could probably find hidden important details in every scene if I had the time to comb through them.
Some other things I want to mention in this first part of the movie- the pictures of the house that the lawyer shows the family are all taken in a way that obscures the fact that every wall is glass; when we’re shown Kalina’s place, there’s a newspaper clipping about Cyrus’s death that names Ben Moss, the lawyer, as the spokesperson of Cyrus’s company, hinting at him having more of an involvement than simply the lawyer; and how nobody in the family really tries to deter Bobby from his obsession with death even if it makes them a little uncomfortable.
The glass house is so iconic. It’s so fucking weird and impractical and sinister and beautiful all at once. And that’s BEFORE it goes full Rube Goldberg. There is nothing at all about this house that gives the vibe that you should move in here and raise your children. Hell there’s nothing at all that gives the vibe that it’s even a house. It’d be a museum, if anything, especially with how much stuff Cyrus has crammed in there.
Except the library. Almost all the books are on the floor in there. Cyrus I’m going to throttle you, you could have had the coolest occult library but instead you just stacked that shit on the ground. I’m so disappointed in you. It’s such a weird choice, given how much else he clearly planned out: every room has the ghost glasses in it somewhere, and there are multiple rooms that might tempt each new resident (living or dead perhaps). He wanted them to see their oncoming doom, wanted them to feel terror and heartbreak and despair. He planned for so many possibilities it’s actually pretty impressive- he knew the lawyer would kick off the process by going right for the money, for example, and it’s clear that he wasn’t told just how fast shit would pop off, since he just sort of saunters back down the corridor instead of getting the hell out as fast as possible. Nobody else was meant to leave that house alive, except Cyrus.
Cyrus himself is so easily hateable right from the get-go. He’s an asshole, he’s pushy and considers everyone else beneath him, and every new sentence out of his mouth makes me hate him more. There’s no attempt made to get the audience to sympathize with him, with the possible exception of the video they play as part of his will and testament, not that it works very well. What a great villain, and a fascinating character as well. I hate him so much. I’m delighted I got to see him die twice. (Ok so the first one was a fake out but it was still satisfying.)
And then there’s Dennis. Just as I hated Cyrus immediately, so did I love Dennis immediately. He’s a tormented little weirdo with psychic abilities, hunting ghosts and hating every minute of it just so he can have some kind of human interaction that doesn’t center on him being the target of whatever cruelty’s going on. He’s kind of an asshole, but he’s still compassionate (to the living at least), and funny to boot. Also, he’s played by Matthew Lillard, so of course I was going to love him. (However, at this point in my life, the only other thing I’d seen with him in it was Scooby-Doo, so the whiplash was real lmao.)
Honestly the man is prime blorbo real estate, as the kids might say. I’m surprised at how few fics there are on Ao3 for this movie/man.
My god, the lore in this movie is incredible. Each and every ghost has a name and a story, despite never getting addressed in the movie itself, and they all look phenomenally unique. They all have clearly distinct personalities, too, despite all (well almost all) of them being murderous freaks. I’d love to watch a miniseries or something about each spirit, I’d eat that up.
I loved the twist reveals, both Kalina’s and Cyrus’s. I really would like to know how he got her to fall for him, and whether she’d always been on his side or if she’d started out genuinely opposing him. One thing’s obvious though, and it’s that she is terrified of the man. Her personality does almost a complete 180 in his presence, she’s overexplaining, she’s desperate for his approval. It’s funny that, just a few minutes earlier, she’d taunted Dennis about how Cyrus was just using him and didn’t actually care about him, yet apparently never suspected the same about herself.
One more thing I’d like to mention is that I love how the family, and only the family, survives. Cyrus gets what he deserves, Kalina is betrayed, and Dennis sacrifices himself, but the entire family makes it out alive- including Maggie, the nanny. Where other movies might not have considered her family enough, and killed her off, this one says no, she’s part of the family. She gets to live. Which is great, since she was so right about pretty much everything, as well as probably the funniest character. (I will never not laugh at ‘did the lawyer split?’)
I do want to know what happens to all the ghosts, as after the destruction of the house they can all be seen presumably going off to commit murder elsewhere. And of course I also want to know where Ghost-Dennis went off to. Did he cross over? Did he decide to tag along with the family? Did he go off on his own? Whatever he chose, he finally looked somewhat at peace for the first time in the entire movie.
Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s because of how it shaped my interest in ghosts and horror, maybe it’s because I can’t resist a good pun, but I give this one 13 outta ten ghosts. I’ve seen this movie probably about 167 times and still haven’t gotten tired of it and I hope I never will.

Welcome to Nonny’s TedTalk about their background characters and their significance to the plot aka my excuse to suddenly lore drop OCs (I guess I’m calling them OCs now)
Anyways, a bit of a long post hehe
Roddy Runes: First Appearance on Distorted Mirror Ch.1: Switch
In front of Leo is a rodent yokai with a huge, bushy tail covered in singed fur. The yokai is wearing what can only be described as scraps of cloth dirtied in, well, dirt and what Leo hopes to be is dry ketchup. Over the yokai’s snout is a purple gas mask of sorts with a small D on the lower jaw—it looks way too close to Donnie’s logo…
The yokai’s eyes widen and his hold on Leo’s upper arm weakens. He drops the teen and looks over his shoulder at a human wearing the same gas mask. He glances between Leo and the human who pressed her finger to her ear.
The yokai finally stops to stare at Leo who stares back at him with the same look of confusion, “This—I don’t—where is the leader?!”
A rodent mutant (species unknown) that Leo meets upon first entering the future timeline. He’s a bit of a worrywart and skittish soldier in the Resistance. He loves children, and if it weren’t for the Krang apocalypse, he would have been a daycare attendant or a teacher/tutor. Leo wasn’t aware of this, but in the future, there was a huge accident with the Krang that mutated hundreds of humans. Roddy was one of them, which explains why Leo mistook him as a yokai in DisMir. Originally, Roddy’s name was Rudolf Thanes, but he changed it to Roddy Runes to better match his new appearance.
Fun fact: He would’ve adopted Leo in a heartbeat if the future timeline counterparts hadn’t claimed Leo as one of their own.
Occupation before the Krang: full-time university student majoring in education, part-time camp counselor
Occupation after the Krang: Scouter. Before his mutation, he was already talented in noticing the near-unnoticeable tracks laid out by any living being, including the Krang, or spotting enemies from afar, etc. But after his mutation, those senses were multiplied, especially as a mutation into the prey category. He’s extraordinarily talented in this area of expertise, to which he jokingly give thanks to his perception of always keeping track of kids he was chaperoning in his past
Significance: He played the part as the guiltripper and backup plan for Leo in DisMir. He unintentionally brings forth Leo’s guilt by mentioning the importance of family and teamwork when trying to reassure Leo’s nerves. Leo would have the option to run back to his side if absolute fear would take hold, and he would have gladly protected Leo with all of his ability and life. His significance didn’t seem all too grand, but he pushed Leo to take anxiety and fear in hand and step forward to responsibility.
Olympia: First Appearance on DisMir Ch.3: Breach
Leo raises a brow and is about to question the weird turn the conversation has made before the person serving the soup speaks up.
Her voice is gruff, limited to a rough but welcoming tone. She’s a mixed yokai, one Leo has never met before or even seen, with features of a bull and snake. She's missing a horn and snake scales travel up the length of her arm to the side of her face. She scoops a hefty portion of soup and drops it into Donatello’s bowl.
Her spoon flicks broth at Raphael’s face when she points her ladle at the turtles, “Watch it, it’s not easy to make balanced meals with what little shit we have. Don’t forget I can spit some venom in your rations.”
A bull/snake hybrid yokai based off of the Ophiotaurus from Greek Mythology that Leo meets with his brothers’ future counterparts. At the time taken during the fic, Olympia’s name wasn’t introduced but she’s the lunch lady that fed all of the Resistance present at the temp-base her bland soup. She isn’t normally the one who makes food, but she was the only one present with experience in feeding large numbers at a time, especially because she occasionally helps her wife in the kitchens back at home base. She is one of the surviving yokai from initial Krang invasion that is able to move and around and speak of the tale. Shes a socially perceptive yokai who likes to dish out people’s stories or secrets without the other noticing.
Fun fact: She was hinting that she was fully aware of how suspicious Leo’s appearance in the future timeline was, hence a part of Raph’s nervousness in talking to her. (Aside from pointing out that Leo looks “suspiciously” like Future Leonardo.)
Occupation before Krang: Battle Nexus fighter
Occupation after Krang: Frontline fighter, focused on giving and taking heavy hits as a tank, honestly not much of a change for her but became increasingly more of a life or death situation
Significance: She played the part of providing a sense of comfort and familiarity for Leo in a world completely strange to him, filled with people who aren’t strangers to the mind boggling situation of the world amidst an apocalypse. She’s kindhearted and warm, strong and easygoing, she truly cares for people. Her part wasn’t long, but it showed readers that despite the war, there are still kindness in people’s hearts and a sense of the mundane in the future. She also played the part of suspicions that are rising within the resistance soldiers present in the throwaway base, no one would voice their concerns, but she played it off as teasing. Very sneaky hehe
Wiler: First Appearance in Dead Man’s Deal Ch.4: Visit & Last Appearance in Return of a Champion
Leo turns to see two yokai who haven’t left the room yet. The shorter yokai, a penguin…of sorts, is seated with a large dumbbell in hand. The taller yokai, a falcon, lay on a bench with a barbell above his head. The falcon halts to a stop while the penguin sneers at Leo’s eye contact.
“Don’t expect us to leave just because Big Mama favors you,” the penguin snapped.
A penguin yokai based off of Maori mythology of tawaki. Just like the myth, Wiler often ventures to the surface under the pretense of being human. Hence his rough and boisterous demeanor, which he picked up from nights in New York observing the harsh demeanors of drunken Yorkers. Wiler was named by a Battle Nexus fighter after being abandoned in the cages and continued to live within the Battle Nexus until Big Mama finally deemed him enough to become a fighter. He only knows of the Battle Nexus, so he went above and beyond when satisfying his curiosity of the outside world and journeyed to the surface. He spent years observing the humans from afar, fear keeping him from actually interacting with them. The closest he got to an interaction was accidentally bumping into a child and apologizing profusely before he hid behind a trash can. He often surfaces to find that child again, to see how they’re doing.
Fun fact: He’s 4’9” (145 cm) in human form and often gets mistaken for a human child on his adventures on the surface.
Significance: He plays the part of providing a sense of normalcy to F!Leo’s life by becoming a close, adult friend outside of family. In the beginning, his short fuse was familiar to F!Leo as a reminder of Raph back in the days, although F!Leo never noticed this. He showed F!Leo how easy it is to talk to people and what it’s like to be normal, despite F!Leo’s reality of being a former war vet and from the future. His boisterous temperament broke through F!Leo’s thoughts and helped the fallen leader from drowning in thoughts of self loathing and regret. He would never admit it, but he thoroughly enjoys being F!Leo’s friend.
Ripper: First appearance in DMD Ch.4:Visit and DMD: RoC
Leo ignores them and just stares, wondering why the penguin is so hostile. The falcon falters under Leo’s stare, but the penguin gets more annoyed by the second. It got to the point the penguin dropped his dumbbell and stormed over to Leo. Leo had to crane his neck down to meet the penguin’s eyes who got angrier by the action.
-continuation of Wiler’s first appearance
A falcon yokai based off of Slavic mythology known as the raróg (or raróh). Unlike his best friend, Wiler, who was practically born and raised in the Battle Nexus, Ripper was sent to the Battle Nexus as punishment for a crime he did not commit. His family are renowned in the black market for a variety of merchandise, especially artifacts. They often sold to Big Mama and she is their best customer, but Ripper grew to fear her the day the family tried to sell her “authentic” artifacts from the human world and she retaliated by framing his father for drug-related crimes and personally sent his father to the Hidden City prison. This led to his elder brother taking over, but was swiftly framed for the sudden disappearance of artifacts within the Hidden City councilroom. His anxious and fearful demeanor made it difficult to speak his truth and was charged for the crime and sent to the Battle Nexus as punishment where he met Wiler. They swiftly became friends, where Wiler helps Ripper steadily overcome his skittishness and anxiety, and he helps Wiler get out of trouble by stepping in before it becomes trouble.
Fun fact: Wiler and Ripper met during training, much like how they both met F!Leo for the first time. Wiler was working on the barbells when he failed a push and Ripper easily lifted the barbells off of Wiler’s neck, saving the penguin’s life.
Significance: He plays the same kind of part as Wiler, becoming a friend to F!Leo and helping F!Leo gain a sense of normalcy beyond the time travel and guilt and strange familial relationship of fathering brothers in the past. Ripper is a softy who would allow anyone to walk over him like a carpet if it weren’t for Wiler, so his skittish demeanor warms F!Leo’s cold exterior. Through himself and Wiler, F!Leo relearns how to be friends and adapt to being an adult in an old world. They teach F!Leo it’s okay to be alive and continue with life, it’s okay to make friends and to continue to grow as an adult, to move on from the past and accept the present.
Griffith: First Appearance in DMD Ch.2: Regret & last appearance in DMD:RoC
Leo looks forward to see a smithy of sorts. It’s not much, especially in comparison to the only smithy he knows of, which he saw in his youth. But he recognizes the type of oven and the smithing instruments. There is a lone, burly yokai slamming a hammer onto red hot steel on a pedestal shaping it with expert precision.
“Griffith,” Big Mama says, catching the attention of the big yokai who immediately stops and rises to his feet. The yokai is taller than expected with muscles stacked upon his torso. He’s a swan wearing a dirtied apron and scars along his splotchy arms where feathers no longer grow.
“Yes Big Mama?”
A swan yokai based off of no myth really, I was watching Swan Lake when thinking about what to make Griffith lol. And I thought it would be funny to see the ever graceful swan reduced (or improved) as a big buff blacksmith in the Battle Nexus. He’s a gruff fellow, observant and meticulous in his work. He has been working as Big Mama’s blacksmith for almost the entirety of his life. He’s a man of little words, his body etched with numerous burn scars and battle scars (he argues that in order to create a weapon, you have to understand the fundamentals behind the weapon). He’s fluent in weaponry, often training with different weapons before using that knowledge attained to creature finely tuned weaponry that earned him a notorious title as the Battle Nexus’s renowned blacksmith. He holds no regard to many fighters, just watches them come and go as time goes on. He’s one of the oldest yokai living in the Hidden City, due to retire although never showing signs of accepting retirement, especially how youthful he seems.
Fun fact: He offered to make Lou Jitsu a weapon during the actor’s time in the Battle Nexus, but Lou Jitsu never accepted. Despite his keen eye, during F!Leo’s time in the Battle Nexus he never saw the similarities between Lou Jitsu’s style and F!Leo’s style—almost as if they were complete strangers.
Significance: His keen eye observed that F!Leo’s style was downright barbaric, almost sloppy had it not been so calculated. For every “mistake” in movement, there was a follow up that filled the gap. He almost opted to give F!Leo a barbed mace if Big Mama didn’t tell him that F!Leo’s weapon is a sword. He, without saying anything except carved F!Leo’s title into the handle, revealed F!Leo’s barbaric tendencies when fighting. He informs F!Leo through the title that F!Leo had long abandoned teachings and opted for desperation and cruelty in fighting. This, in turn, makes F!Leo realize how much he had changed because of the war and his actions. Griffith makes F!Leo momentarily break from thoughts about the past and realize the present—and that tells F!Leo that he’s not acting as the man he once was. Griffith’s part was extremely short, but he played a huge part in F!Leo’s life that F!Leo hadn’t realized. Although F!Leo never acted upon noticing this change, it opened his eyes significantly. But in RoC, Griffith played another part in helping F!Leo accept a new norm, a norm that is beyond fighting to push the pain down to fighting to heal. Another small part, but huge in F!Leo’s life.
Officer Xeni: First appearance in Leonardo Come Down Ch.5: Atone and Alone
The yokai policeman stares at Leon suspiciously, eyeing the young mutant. Leon smiles nervously behind a confident facade, his eyes switching between the policeman and the screen on the desk he leans on. The policeman almost draws his lip up in disgust at the elbow that leans on his desk and Leon quickly retreats.
“Let me check,” the yokai policeman taps away on the hologram, suspiciously eyeing the turtle gang as he does. A few more taps into the system and he says, “Alright… we don’t have a Leonardo Hamato nor a Hamato Leonardo. But we do have a Loathsome Leonard, and… hm. No last name.”
An unnamed badger yokai based off of the mujina in Japanese mythology. He was originally unnamed and species unspecified in the fic as I didn’t want to name him at the time of writing LCD hehe. He’s a pretty laidback guy, a little normal in comparison to the previous characters. He’s simply an officer, born and raised in the Hidden City, normal family of two kids and a wife at home that happened to meet the Hamatos as the strangest part of his mundane life.
Fun fact: He’s the definition of “she’s so boring if she were a spice, she’d be flour” (Louise from Bob’s Burgers) /lhj he’s literally just an average guy doing his job, happy and comfortable with his life
Significance: He plays the part of the informant for the readers and Little Leo. He fills in the readers for what happened in between the time that the Hamatos were asleep and F!Leo escaped to prison. He portrays the readers’ feelings about the F!Leo situation, showing pity to Leo for wanting so desperately to see F!Leo despite the ex-leader running away so often. He’s like a reader insert lol, not too entirely significant toward the plot other than being a bridge between the reluctant and self-isolating F!Leo and the desperate to understand Little Leo.

Since Twitter might not be a thing for much longer I wanted to move the trivia threads for my picture books to tumblr.
OC lore dump and sketches for my first self-published picture book Hurricane Lane under the cut;
The number one thing I'm worried about is people thinking my book is related to the hurricane of the same name. I wrote this in 2010-2011 which predates it and the title is meant to convey Amelia's life in her suburban town and how she views it more dramatically then it is.
The name was also inspired by this beautiful song by The Hush Sound which I was listening to a lot whilst concepting and really influenced aesthetics (more subdued colour, the inclusion of the piano being an important story point etc).
I started getting interested in children's illustration when I saw the Penguin Design Competition advertised at my uni in 2010. I didn't make the cut but figured I'd go ahead and finish my book anyway because at that point I was invested in my story and wanted to complete it.
The contest called for an ebook with interactive pages so I made Hurricane Lane have seven special pages of 'wonders' Amelia finds throughout her story. Unfortunately with flash player gone the interactions don't play but they're still found online here;
I based Amelia's design on a Mii I had made which was supposed to represent a human Pikachu. You can see the Mii on the bottom left here. I really liked how it looked and she gradually evolved into what she is today.
Initially the dinosaur suit that her brother has was going to be worn by Amelia but I preferred her without it and thus Bailey was born. The dinosaur itself was based on a purple stegosaurus keyring I had when I was younger and loved even though I had no keys at the time.
Here are some more initial outfit designs for Amelia but in the end I went with the one on the right, inspired by Miku Hatsune's 'Out and About' module from Project Diva.
The family's father Rupert was partly based on my own dad (definitely the dress sense) but in 2010 I was also really obsessed with the BBC show Merlin and may have tried to age up Colin Morgan a bit to make this character.
The mother's design was a little based on my own Mother's and a little the title character of the film Amelié (she evolved beyond this quite early so there's not too striking a resemblence). I was also obsessed with the music in that film which inspired this book a lot.
I kept it vague whether she worked at the hospital or was staying there as a patient because at the time I had an idea for an overarching narrative where the families of Hurricane Lane and 256 Postcards Ago meet. This didn't pan out so feel free to have your own interpretation.
Here's some initial concepts of the logo which I was mostly scribbling during my Uni classes.
One more random tidbit is that I based the background of their journey home from the Toad's Turnpike track in Mario Kart 64. I really loved that game and it holds a lot of childhood memories for me so the nostalgia felt fitting. Maybe that's too weird to mention!
Towards the end I was concepting the protagonists of Hurricane Lane and 256 Postcards Ago meeting in a connecting rpgmaker game but sadly that never came to be. I'll talk about it more in my thread for the next book though!
I also made a little soundtrack for my book here
1) Kiara 2) Cornflake Girl 3) Indaco 4) La Valse D'Amelie 5) 春よ、来い (kites) 6) The Heart Asks Pleasure First 7) Lotus (dragon hunters) 8) Nightbook 9) Reverie 10) Hurricane
I listened to these songs a lot while reading and the final track inspired the title.
And final last tidbit- Hurricane Lane takes place in my childhood hometown. It doesn't have too many standout locations but I took photos for background references and anyone who lives there may recognize the small nods to it.
(Almost forgot links to where you can read my book) Amazon paperback; https://amazon.com/dp/1475009097 eBook; https://frayedsymphony.gumroad.com/l/LuNug
Thanks for reading!

a my little pony oc ask-blog?! in my 2024?!?!
ask blog ran by @freshpyrope
hi so for a quick introduction, i’m kirby. or jane. or bec. or maybe even toca or pillar! whatever you know me by, that’s me. these are some my little pony OCs based off of pre-existing OCs that i’ve now rendered into cute, marketable ponies.
i use they/them, but you can also use whatever i don’t particularly care (this includes any fun loving neos)
i also run in art-blog, @breakfastsnail, you can absolutely go follow to see whatever other bull shit i’m on.
please read below if you plan on following!
INTRO/RULES!!!
so yeah, i said this was a mlp oc blog. but it’d probably help if you knew a little more and maybe even some background information. this also includes rules to what i’m comfortable with! as well as, what this blog will be about.
CONTENT WARNINGS/BYF
this blog, despite the cute ponies, does include very sensitive subject. such as murder, differing types of abuse, and mental health. if any of that happens to upset you, please feel free to block me.
that being said, i can’t control who sees my blog or follows it. but (DESPITE THE PONIES!!!) this blog has 13+ content. you’ve been warned, and i can’t do anything else about this.
despite the fact this is an mlp blog, i’ll probably make a ton of lore mistakes. i’ve watched the whole show through like 2-3 ish times, and i’m still trying to learn the lore. please be forgiving.
if you share any bigotry in any way, of any kind, you will be blocked. we block quite liberally.
if at any point, you think something i’ve tagged is odd or not accurate to the post: tell me. i will never be mad. i might ask for an explanation, but i will never be upset.
BOUNDARIES
yeah so, i do happen to be a minor! do with that what you will, but try to be humane or whatevs they say.
nothing gross please, especially towards my OCs as they are children. i don’t mind talking about any of the darker subjects mentioned prior, but treat everything with respect.
WHAT ARE THE OCS???
here’s our main cast! this includes:
aurore b. alice :
aurore is a unicorn with a tired, worried demeanor. growing up with their older sister and mother, they have been practicing magic sense forever to help out their family in some way. they aren’t from ponyville, and made moving to a place with no friends, very hard.
they/them + agender + 14 yrs old
fairy floss :
fairy is a earth pony who’s very curious, and a little clueless. he lives, unfortunately, with his dad and pet dog. he doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, and tries to take everything one day at a time. despite all odds.
he/him + trans male + 14 yrs old
clairjoyance :
clairjoy is a pegasus that happens to be the worlds biggest adventurer, she’s always putting herself out in the world but receives so little in return. she lives with her two parents, and 2 twin older siblings. she feels like the world has everything against her.
she/her + trans female + 14 yrs old
WHATS THE STORY???
so these three ponies, are BFFs! despite all odds, they’ve known each other for quite some time. so for convenience sake, here’s a small run down —>
they attend a small school in ponyville, just starting highschool… they are all very nervous, and only wants what is best for each other. many shenanigans ensue.

Do you guys have podcast recommendations? I'm caught up on everything I listen to, but you guys are my favorite podcast, so I assume we have similar tastes
AWWW i'm so honored that we're your faves! grey is no longer a podcast listener so i (crystal) shall be the only answerer
in terms of people-watching-a-thing podcasts, i've enjoyed:
doctor huh- two brothers, one a former doctor who watcher and one who... only knows about it from social media... watch nuwho eps in a random order
zero to zero- three friends watch dc/marvel properties and respond w fun and funny levels of haterism. i have enjoyed ALL of this despite never once touching something they reviewed. on maybe-permanent hiatus
LMNOP- the only good cbs elementary podcast. also on maybe-permanent hiatus
i've been meaning to watch that- i've listened to less of this one, but it's hosted by manika dulcio, who we had on our s4 wrapped, so if you liked her there check her out on her home base!
as for fiction podcasts, listing my fave subscribeds below! for some of these, the first few eps are kinda rough but i've found them all resoundingly Worth It eventually! also if you, babpod listener, care about this, all of these have queer main characters and i'll bold the ones where the main char is explicitly a poc:
hi nay- "a supernatural horror fictional podcast about Filipina immigrant Mari Datuin, whose babaylan (shaman) family background accidentally gets her involved in stopping dangerous supernatural events in Toronto." v rich lore v good at being creepy! (ongoing)
the silt verses- what if every single folk deity was real and hungry and society ran on ppl being sacrificed on telephone poles? incredibly sexy writing like SO sexy (ongoing)
midnight burger- space diner adventures and friendships! they recently dropped a 3-hour beautifully audio-engineered season finale they've grown so much since the beginning. great cast and fills you w so much wonder about The Universe (ongoing)
greater boston- an expanding cast of chars tell the story of the forming of a new city on the boston red line train cars. makes u wild about community and interconnectedness and local politics and how no one is beyond compassion while also having like. cheese robots (ongoing)
within the wires- what if a world war led to a worldwide cultural shift that decried all tribalism starting at the family unit and babies were separated from their parents at birth? extremely interesting world and formats though i do think it's kinda tired after s4. i think listening to s1 then reading the companion novel might be the Move (ongoing)
unwell, a midwestern gothic mystery- what it says on the tin! lily returns to the fading small town she grew up in to care for her mom. there are ghosts and town history and wolves in the woods. some rlly beautiful and complex family relationships and friendships, great vibe and sound design (complete)
parkdale haunt- p classic haunted house horror (well i say classic. there's also an influencers cult) which i also consider a Top Friendship-Focused Media (complete)
alice isn't dead- usamerican road trip show about the horrors of freedom. spn wishes. love jasika nicole as a VA (complete)
the pasithea powder- epistolary space bisexuals after a war that left them on opposite sides. excellent interpersonal drama and aliens (complete)
wooden overcoats- v funny british funeral home rivalry show antigone funn is the weirdgirl extraordinaire (complete)
monstrous agonies- nice soothing ten-minute segments of a supernatural advice show. i think i've mentioned it as being the anti-spn in terms of the monster rights and monster-human cohabitation background of the world (complete)
midnight radio- ten-episode small town radio show ghost romance. it's an excellent annual fall listen if you have a saturday free (complete)
mabel podcast- ONE OF THE PODCASTS OF ALL TIME. if you care about women you will like this podcast. i've always found anna and mabel so revolutionary and freeing to listen to. horror podcast about fairies and a house that loves (creepy edition?) you (long hiatus)
brimstone valley mall- silly delightful y2k demons in a mall (long hiatus)
the far meridian- magical realism story about a girl living in a teleporting lighthouse. sweet and melancholic (long hiatus)
khôra podcast- greek myths in space. i need to hug all the characters (long hiatus)
ty for this ask i love podcasts i need to catch up on them!
- Crystal :)
#hope this is a helpful list! idk what pods you usually listen to i hope this list isn't like. sooo basic#i feel like ppl's relationships to fiction pods are like 1. what's that? -> 2. only magnus archives and night vale ->#3. a nice portfolio (where i'm at i think. i've been here like 8 years i think) -> 4. Knows Every Single One (my cool mutuals)#i also hope you aren't a fully nonfiction pod listener this would be so unhelpful if so#asks

Hi i love your casa tidmouth!!! I saw the ask about james pairing and wondered if there any pairing for diesel, oliver or lady? Also happy holidays!!!
thank you very much!!! ALSO HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR AHHHHHH I'M SO SO SORRY FOR ANSWERING THIS LATE.... I WANTED TO ANSWER THIS ASK AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE SO 🙏🙏🙏
I also apologize if some parts don't really sound very shippy because I thought it'd be a good chance to showcase some bits of lore character relationships in general... ANYWAYS!!!! HAVE FUN READING
diesel:
you could say that diesel's currently not interested in anyone, at least in a romantic sense. diesel used to have a small crush on mavis but no longer did after she told him she's a lesbian. now they're just... besties? frenemies? diesel and mavis gets into trouble together, except diesel's the one who incites it (arry and bert just follows) and mavis just happens to be there. diesel gets himself into trouble because of his schemes while mavis (begrudgingly) gets him out of it, though she usually also gets the short end of the stick alongside diesel. mavis also thought that diesel is constantly up to no good, though this is mostly because mavis just wants to live a simple life with as little problems as possible (literally impossible because she lives in so-freaking-dor)
however in act 2, mavis started to feel suspicious about diesel with how he always disappears somewhere at nights. even though they're both affiliated with the dieselworks (since they both drive diesel engines), she suspected that diesel might've been getting himself involved with d10 lately and is now genuinely siding with someone threatening instead of just being mildly inconveniencing. she's now conflicted between wanting to confront diesel in order to protect the person she cares about, or avert her eyes and live in blissful ignorance.
not shippy, but worth mentioning: diesel and duck started off as great enemies at the start of the story. before the events of casa tidmouth, after thinking duck wanted to leave him for dead (he was still new to sodor and has no idea people rarely die in sodor's railways), diesel spread horrific rumours about duck's family, which triggered the start of his axe-crazy tendencies (he's incredibly desperate to make his family proud. you know the drill). neither of them expressed guilt -- they do feel it -- for their actions towards one another because of how stubborn they are. they also have really different worldviews; diesel wanted progress, while duck wanted to stick with the old ways.
their backgrounds were really similar, too. both of their families were incredibly traditional, but while duck followed them like a dog, diesel rejected them. they could've respected each other or even become friends, if only their stubborness didn't blind them. perhaps things could change in act 2...?
speaking of act 2, diesel teamed up with d10 and got pretty close to him, partly because he realized d10's power is now heavily relying on the competence of his minions (and they're really not) and partly because they both share the same worldviews about progress. he's basically his right hand man, doing all the convincing and talking while d10 is having this big internal crisis going on. you could say it's also his curiosity taking place, since he wonders what the "most menacing man in all of sodor" will do once he hits rock bottom. diesel also convinced percy to join the workers of dieselworks when he was at his lowest, saying "I know a man who would respect your ambitions."
in addition, diesel is still coming into terms with his identity because of his huge catholic guilt. this fucking guy
oliver:
even though he's usually no-nonsense and avoids conflict and island mysteries at any cost, oliver has a huge soft spot for douglas. they first met around 5 years ago when oliver was lost in a forest in bumfuck nowhere, being the victim of time and space displacement alongside a young man called toad -- who barely said a word -- and having lost a lot of his memories. he lived inside his rusty engine with toad for years in solitude. after a few years had passed, he met douglas, who ended up there as well (he assumed that he's the same as him) and bonded with him over the days he was stuck there.
with douglas' presence, oliver felt much less alone. and vice versa. toad also got along with douglas, which made oliver felt relieved. oliver initially didn't have much motivation to get himself out of the situation (toad didn't express much either and only wanted to stick with oliver) and nearly gave up, but after meeting douglas and listening to his stories about missing his brother and wanting to go back home, oliver regained his motivation to keep on trying. he also set his thoughts of finding whoever's responsible aside for the sake of douglas and toad.
after the three of them were rescued by duck and donald and nursed back to health, oliver intended to take his leave, still a bit bent on finding whoever's responsible for his lost memories and broken engine. but then sir topham hatt suggested that he could work for the northwestern railways ("who knows? it could help you find what you're looking for, mr. swindon.")
the next day, douglas expressed gratitude to oliver for saving his life and accompanying him throughout the days he was lost in a forest. oliver instead shot back with a smile, "actually, douglas, you're the one who saved me. even though I still remember nothing about my past, I now remember what I was fighting for. myself, and my engine."
fun fact: you know oliver jr., oliver's tamagotchi? douglas was the one who gifted it to him. since the first generation of tamagotchis die easily if not given care 24/7, douglas went all the way to the steamworks and convinced victor (doctor, engineer, guy with at least 3 phds) to modify it and make it practically immortal. oliver received this gift extremely happily, though he sometimes wonders if something is different with his tamagotchi (douglas just said that he probably got the most special ultra rare yadda yadda version).
oliver and douglas are also one of the more "normal" pair in all of casa tidmouth (2x3x4 have communication issues thus can only pine over each other, 8x9 are... uh... murderhusbands, mavis is oblivious to lady's true identity, lady and d10 have similar twisted views on humanity, etc).
lady:
even though nobody (aside from thomas and percy) knows about lady being the island's goddess, almost every single woman in casa tidmouth likes her. mavis, emily, rosie, belle, daisy, etc... they all collectively thought "haha wow weird silly woman is pretty". she's way too oblivious and thought that it's just some quirk humans have, though. HOWEVER, she's really close with mavis, who showed lady around the quarry when she first arrived in sodor. mavis also wanted to "shield" lady from all the general weirdness around sodor, assuming that she's originally from outside the island. on the other hand, lady's optimism started to make mavis relax more from her coworker diesel's antics. also mavis thinks she's kinda hahah hey girl
in act 2, after news of missing railway workers came out, mavis tried to convince lady to leave the island. she felt like lady knows a lot more than she looks, but she's not taking any risks to have the person she holds dear get involved. lady just felt really guilty, but (after going through character progression and developing more "human" emotions like happiness, guilt, melancholy, "selfish" motivations, yadda yadda) she has a feeling that if she revealed her true identity, it's not going to end smoothly.
I've also mentioned something about lady and d10 being really close in a qpp type of way had their circumstances been different. they're both people who find it really hard to connect to others; the former being a goddess with different perceptions on morality and the latter being a guy who has low empathy and a whole lot of personality disorders. here's the post explaining their relationship

GET TO KNOW THE MUN.
respond to the prompts out of character!
what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have? Hard to say. I gravitate towards obscure and tertiary characters because of the freedom that gives me to develop them beyond what we were given, but I also have some characters who have A LOT of lore (Obi-Wan, Luke, Leia, Han) because of how much information there is to pick from. I guess something else that most of my muses have in common is that they are, to different degrees, confident and passionate about whatever goals they have, no matter how different those goals might be or how different their alignments are. They might not be too sure about who they are as individuals, but they know where they stand, they know the role they play, and they're either embracing it or actively rejecting it.
is there anything you don’t like to write? There's a few. A big one is smut for the sake of smut and violence for the sake of violence, for both I need a certain amount of plotting and some kind of chemistry between the muses + understanding with the other mun of how things might go. Cheating plots are a huge no, I don't want my muses to cheat nor to get cheated on. Obviously incest, non-con, anything involving bathroom stuff in the bedroom. Also I don't enjoy writing one liners-single paragraph replies, the shortest I can give is 2 paragraphs without counting dialogue lines and even that is super rare.
is there anything you really enjoy writing? I love fleshing out dynamics that didn't exist in canon (e.g: Han and Dryden, Maulkiller and Maul, Myles and Din, Koska and Paz, Roan and Anakin, Nuru and Thrawn) or didn't get explored as much as they could have because they were more background dynamics (e.g: Quinlan and Agen, Sabé and Anakin, Garen and Obi-Wan, Medrit and Boba, Bossk and Jango, Elodore and Dooku). I also love writing the scenes in between, the things we didn't get to see but that could have led to how things went.
how do you come up with headcanons? I look at a character and focus on the gaps in the story. Be it a blank in the plot like what Sabé's family life was like for her to so quickly and happily leave them behind and never look back, or something small like what about hoi-broth makes Obi-Wan have such dire allergic reactions (it's the oxidized spices).
do you write in silence or do you play music? either with instrumental/repetitive music or with some random YouTube video (analog horror and AITA compilations are very useful for this lately) in the background. A personal favorite for writing or Under Giant Trees by Agnes Obel.
do you plan your replies or wing them? I plot them a bit. First, I figure out what my character would do and say in response to what my partner's reply said, if it's a longer reply I even do bullet points, and then I actually put it into words.
do you enjoy shipping? I love shipping. Romantic, platonic, familial. It's all awesome!
what’s your alias/name? Mica.
age? 23.
birthday? October 29th.
favorite color? Green, red, purple.
favorite song? Zombie by The Cranberries.
last movie you watched? Diary of the Dead by George A Romero.
last show you watched? The Simpsons.
last song you listened to? Ainsi Bas La Vida by Indila.
favorite food? Rice and tuna with butter and cheese.
favorite season? Spring.
do you have a tumblr best friend? I have a few. Tanya (corruptedforce), Vani (galaccias) and Luna (foundjarin) have been here since my humble beginnings. Break (mutatiio) is a more recent addition but I'm just as attached. Cato (monstarousmythos) isn't in this fandom but has put up with me through it and through so many other fandoms, and then there's Liz (nieithryn) and Viktor (@virulentmastermind) who I've been talking to a lot lately and really enjoy our conversations. Special mention to Dylan, who -while most of our interactions happen on discord- first interacted with me through Tumblr and I wouldn't be this deep into Star Wars roleplay if it wasn't for them being the first nice experience I had in this RPC.
TAGGED BY: Stolen from @nieithryn.
TAGGING: @galaccias, @corruptedforce, @d4gangera, @monstarousmythos, @mutatiio, @k4ssa, @tacticalvalor, @foundjarin.

monster 4
i love m4 thank you
(The use of he/him for Monster 4 may be temporary. I have no idea what pronouns this silly would use. Honestly, anything but it/its would probably do. ) So I got the DLC TEX folder. The png files for Monster 4's death screen. Got nothing more than what I got when I first saw it and looked thoroughly through every frame. The reason why I'm mentioning this at the beginning of Monster 4's headcanon post will be explained at the bottom of the post after an edit. But here's what I have for him:
Dude's kind of miserable. He was doing alright in the tranquility of... well, nothingness before the Protagonist awaken his mind and his stomach muscles with the sound of rattling keys. His chase sequence is equivalent of a stabbed man running for an ambulance. Bad comparison when it happens in a cursed hospital in a cursed mansion, but you get the picture. Every second he's conscious, he suffers from an unquenchable hunger (LiV reference???). Every second when the hunger is slightly more manageable, he suffers from a number of conflicting emotions: guilt, fear of feeling worse again, fear of remembering shit he does not want to remember, fear of forgetting who he is, fear of the hospital environment and fear of what's outside the hospital. But right now, he's doing surprisingly well cleaning after the other hospital inhabitants.
Canonically a gamer:
I would imagine he's immune to horror games but does not have a preference towards them. He plays Slime Rancher and Amnesia with the same amount of casual enthusiasm. This fucker is so dedicated and curious that he'll spend hours exploring useless corners so he experiences everything the game has to offer. Gets mad at letsplayers when they miss secret endings/easter eggs or misinterpret lore.
Extreme pain tolerance in every part of his body except for the digestive system and brain. Either everything else seems like papercuts by comparison or that in some way he's half-dead. He's still stuck in the mindset that he is fully alive and human, albeit mutilated. It's not that he isn't aware of what vaguely happened to him, but that he reacts to the other horrific shit that goes on in the mansion like he doesn't eat people and that death is something that can still happen to him.
Eats everything that's SOFT enough. That is to say, he will not eat glass shards. Nor hard rocks. Nor tables. Nor an entire killer whale without taking time to cut it into pieces. Nor any type of weapon for that matter. Favorite food is raw red meat (beef, pork and lamb) and grilled potatoes and yam. Drinks (what he believes is) water like a healthy person.
"Rex" began when Bekka pointed out the similarities between his roar and that of a T Rex's. He's fine with this. Dinosaurs are kind of cool.
He's currently learning to knit. Wearing the same oversized patient gown is not super convenient. (Specimen 6: "Where the fuck did my needle go")
So. Regarding a more concrete backstory: I have no clue. The entire issue originates from his death screen. Most enemies have a small amount of intelligible information for my brain to form a character background out of. But God, Kira needs to tell me what details in M4's death screen is serious or simple easter eggs or making fun of this type of communicating lore to the community. This fella's death screen has no need to look like it came straight out of an ARG. Why is there a QR code that takes me to a quote site. What does this mean? Why are there so many text that I can barely decipher. All this made me feel like I'm missing something when constructing how this guy came into being in my head. Probably around the lines of being a hospital patient, getting influenced by Monster 5, eating his family then attempting to off himself and failing (somewhat). That's the general consensus in the SJSM community, but just from that death screen I still feel that's not enough. A dark/hj part of me is telling me Monster 4 might be like Specimen 9, something based on a real event or some bullshit just because his death screen is so packed with things that suggest secrets but are impossible to solve, at least for me. I don't even know. Here's some screenshots I want to talk about:
What is that B&W background?? A flower??? A brain????
This is interesting because it's similar to Nurse Tanaka's note. Might just be a reference to Monster 5's influence, which affects nearly every Karamari Hospitel character, so I don't know if this is anything important.
What interested me most is the family photo. The contrast and distortions are too high for me to find out the source for the original image of this photo, but it looks quite real. Could be a random stock image or something else. I honestly don't know. If you happen to find the original image and the context behind it, please send it to me. Thanks. This post is getting too long and I spent my whole afternoon on it.

Hi it’s the Splatoon crossover anon! Honestly when I saw that ur requests were closed I was 100% willing to wait until they were opened back up again lol
Anyways, I mostly wanna see Kofu, Ryme, Grusha, and Jacq in these headcanons but if you think any other characters would have interesting interactions feel free to add them!
Sooo for the request, how about these characters meeting a small fry/lil’ buddy! It doesn’t have to be new Agent 3’s little small fry, you can do an entirely diff one if you want them to keep them hehe. Salmonids are sentient and have a whole culture and make their own music so don’t treat them as a pet :0 Also this small fry would pretty much be separated from their tribe so they’d probably follow the mentioned characters around since they’d be the closest thing to family
I can imagine all the silly little stuff that can happen!! Like small fry sitting in Kofu’s apron pockets or in Grusha’s scarf and singing along with Ryme!! And accidentally falling off a ledge lol. Salmonids were on the team chaos side sooo.. would love to see a lil chaos hehe
Okay I am going off of incredibly bare minimum knowledge here so Splatoon fans please forgive anything wrong lore wise. All I know is damn those squids can sing. Really hope you enjoy this anon! Crossover fans stick together :D
Splatoon & Pokemon SV Crossover: Jacq, Ryme, Kofu, and Grusha befriend a Smallfry Salmonid!
- At first, all four of them mistake the lost Smallfry for a new Pokemon. They look like one, and their little gurgles can easily be mistaken for a cry if one isn't familiar with the Inkling language. Jacq is the first of the four to realize that what he has following him around like a lost Fidough is not a Pokemon but an entirely new being all together. It’s unsurprising, considering his scientific background. His first concern is communication. Neither party seems to understand the other well, though there are some words he recognizes mixed in with Smallfry’s gibberish. During his classes, they float around him, happily mimicking his tone with their bubbling vocalizations. If you’re a student in Jacq’s class, you quickly have to become accustomed to your supplies going missing. The little Smallfry has a hidden collection going on.
- Ryme is the second fastest to discover this. She rescued the shivering Smallfry from a snow drift a week ago, and they’ve been following her around ever since. When she tried to use a Pokeball on them, it clattered to the ground, completely useless. Both she and the Smallfry stared at the object in confusion. Inevitably, she accepts this as is with little question. She particularly loves when they rap along with her, but when they sing songs from Salmonid bands, she’s fascinated. Ryme can’t help but take inspiration for her own music, the Smallfry on stage settled on her shoulder, singing along with her.
- Kofu has experience with Water-types, and Smallfry is like no Water-type he has ever seen. He’s also never seen any Pokemon wield a spoon like it’s a blunt-force weapon before either. He takes Smallfry's existence in stride and with no questions. Guess he has a weird li’l fish kid to take care of now, not that he minds. Settled in the pocket of Kofu’s apron, the Smallfry watches him fry up food for his restaurant patrons with rapt attention. Because of being separated from their school, the Smallfry has an appetite of a full-grown man. Kofu is up to the challenge, always coming up with some delicious meal for his favorite little guy.
- It takes Grusha a bonk on the head to pick up on it. He can be a bit thick. The Smallfry still takes to him all the same once they get a little bit more respect, and if there’s one thing Grusha can empathize with, it’s feeling lonely. He knows that expression all too well, no matter what face it’s on. Yeah, he has friends, but it gets lonely at the top of a mountain. He learns how to communicate decently with the Smallfry, paying close attention to their expressions and body language. Though, it’s still a bit harder than he’s used to. Maybe if he was a Water-type specialist and worked with more fish-shaped Pokemon, he’d have a better hang of it. For now, he’s going off of a mix of humans and what he’s seen from his Cetoddle to decipher what the Smallfry is trying to say. Whenever he goes out, he’s sure to bundle them up as much as possible. They practically look like a little ball of fabric more than a Salmonid.
#pokemon imagines#pokemon headcanons#crossover#tried VERY hard with this one especially with trying to emphasize that smallfry is their own little guy and not a pet

OC masterpost
A summary of all my sillies for reference.
Corren Finne
A 14 y/o or 7 sweep old Trans Male troll who is based off of a spotted cat-tail shark. We are already diving head first into cringe I know. anyways he loves welding on land next to his little boat, he also loves just doing cool boy stuff like seeing how far he can throw his friends like skipping stones across lakes. His dad is an eel and isn’t exactly proud of him but isn’t opposed to him either. Indifferent dad but hey funny lore stuff. He later on makes a deal with a Cherub to save his lover from infinite pain after they beat sburb by sacrificing himself to be controlled by them, slowly giving plant cancer and slowly turning him crazy, religious and paranoid.
Ariel
An inconsiderate and unaware Cherub (although i originally wrote her as a robot) who first thought she was just a weird ugly troll, but eventually learnt “damn bro i am a literally biological impossible thing and should not exist” and went bat shit crazy, went on an awesome quest that I might make into a comic later. Anyway she does a lot of stuff and becomes god, also makes terrible deals that almost always end in them dying and a new game starting. She may be my favorite but you didn’t hear that from me!
The Amor’s
A small family of what’s left of their bloodline, not really major characters compared to the others but I do have a love for them, I will probably just make their own separate posts for them and if wanted I’ll do more in depth anazlises and deep dives into their little lives. Expect to see them used more as background characters or pawns than something more important.
Caroline Ohana
An irken! Finally, not a troll! She is an extreme paranoid scientist, mostly just a self-insert OC but she has her lore. I use her primarily for drawing irkens and irk culture in general, man irk is cool :].
Carnige-Vile
A clown of unknown origin who hunts in New Jersey, honestly he makes no sense. With antennas and make-up that can’t be taken off he really doesn’t count as human, but all his organs would seem to align with human origin. Not to mention he isn’t foreign to earth, or any other place that you would happen to take him. He goes as he pleases and usually makes others go with him. Having you alive for the journey most likely wasnt accounted for though…
Eros
A small child clown, made of string, guts and love by his mother Aleroth Amor! He loves his moms (even if one may be a mass murderer and had physical relations with god at one point in time) and is mute. He doesn’t have to dress up as a clown but can’t talk due to his throat being a horn, it isn’t exactly easy killing someone with an intact vocal cord that sounds like a child. He doesn’t mind though, always happy just to be here!
That's about it! I will comment under this post if I make more sillies or just make a new one if it ever gets too out of hand, Happy blood trails my moots! Haha see what i did there

General Thoughts on the rest of Berry in the Big City Season Two
Netflix put the entirety of season two up today (I figured they would, but since not even half the season has gone up on the youtube channel, there was the chance that they would hold off on the whole thing), and I managed to watch all the episodes that haven't gone up yet, despite having my long day at work. Overall, I enjoyed it! There were some things I suspected would happen, and some I definitely didn't. And of course, we got some good songs along the way (so seriously, where's that official soundtrack?).
Individual episode thoughts under the cut:
Scaryoke - Like last year, this year's Fright Fall episode is also a song episode, courtesy of Huck. While the song isn't nearly as catchy as last year's song, it does get points for including Bread Pudding this time (he even does a small duet with Huck). And I love everyone's costumes!
Save the Pumpkins - I feel like someone should have mentioned that the pumpkins they had were already picked and thus probably had no preference over being carved or not at that point, but I'll admit, I did like the message (just because something is tradition doesn't mean you have to do it if it makes someone uncomfortable) and the punchline at the end.
Traffic Jam - aka the Money Blueberry/Huck ep. Since I already saw the majority of this one from that preview clip, I don't have too many thoughts on it. It plays out about how you think it will, but Blueberry and Huck's interactions are fun.
Berry Bounty Bolt - the return of the families, and this time Lime's other dad, Dr. Pops, gets actual dialogue. There's a lot of fun dialogue and interactions in this one, and an outcome I did not see coming at all.
Snow-Aisis - Another fun one, but not one that I really have anything to say about.
Mission Unfrostable - The holiday heist from the trailer! As one might assume from that description, this was a lot of fun, with some especially good animation and lots of good expressions. I particularly like Blueberry's SSC ice creams and how petulant the Pieman got when his ruse was found out.
The Magic's In You - Another song ep, but we also get some lore about the Winterswirl holiday, whose Santa analog is Cinnamon Swirl (and thus probably the girl from the concept art on WildBrain's productions page) with Berrykins instead of elves. Which means, once the winter special comes out next year, there will have been Berrykins in all four versions of SSC.
Best New Year's EVER - Out of all the characters who could have returned in this show, Sherry Bobbleberry is not one I would have expected. Granted, in this version she's a pop star with a fairy motif, not an actual fairy, but still. The actual episode is just okay, getting points for the other girls being all "Go, live your dream, we're happy for you" and for some Strawberry/Raspberry bonding time.
All in the Palm - Another just okay one.
Granola Crunch - the titular character is voiced by another BBA alum, Shannon Chan Kent. We learn a little bit more about Aunt Praline's job, and there's a good message. It's an enjoyable watch, but not one that needs a lot of commentary.
Strawberry Nightmare - I suspect that the "advice" the Pieman gives Strawberry is what happened to him in the past, leading to his cutthroat nature in the present. The dream business was predictable, but Strawberry does wear ruthless very well.
LemonLime Back in Time - This episode is the best of this batch, as it's not only incredibly fun, but it also answers a question most of us have had since the beginning of the show, namely Why do Lemon Meringue and Lime Chiffon share a cart when they don't seem to have anything in common? I loved all the 80s fashions, and Lemon and Lime's more extreme counterparts. The only thing that would have made this ep better was an 80s Bread Pudding in the background.
The Case of the Missing Spoon - Good on Strawberry for never doubting her friends. A lesser episode (or maybe just a longer one) would have had some seeds of doubt, but she never waivered on who was the actual culprit, just the how. Also, Captain Cackle is canon to BitBC! Even though he wasn't called by that name, and the ending implied he's going to be Sour Grapes' pet, it still counts.
Strawberry Bake Fail - While I've never tried to make my own macarons, I understand they're really hard to get right, so I feel Strawberry's pain. Best joke of the episode, an image of Huck appearing when Strawberry mentions, in the context of making cakes, density.
Berry Competitive - the Orange/Lemon episode I didn't know I needed, plus Plum Pudding returned! Not sure we needed to see Lime Tart and Lemon Tort again, but they served their purpose. And Strawberry being roped into giving Lemon Meringue's invention validity was amusing, too.
Music in Our Hearts - Most a song ep, but the intro shows a side of Huck we don't usually get to see.
Parking Problems - I've stated before that I'm not crazy about eps with one joke that it follows for the whole run time, and that is still the case here, as Strawberry struggles to find the perfect place to park her food truck at the Poachella festival. The addition of Lime Tart and Lemon Tort helps elevate it, but that's about it.
Find Your Voice - I was right about that singer in the trailer being Cherry Jam! But there are some other returning characters in the band: Peppermint Fizz and Raisin Cane! Who would have guessed?
Fashion Forward - I've been waiting for an episode of Bread Pudding and Lime Chiffon hanging out, and this one did not disappoint, though it was mostly a Bread Pudding ep. But I love when my boy is a huge dork, and this episode fulfills that to a tee. We also get another returning character, Crepes Suzette, who, like her 2003 counterpart, is a fashion designer, though here she's only aspiring.
Slumber Party - Everyone in pajamas! Raspberry being part of the friend group again! A BitBC version of Pride and Prejudice! (Pride and Pomegranates?) Suffice to say, I enjoyed this one.
Legend of the Crystal Cupcake - Slightly misleading title, as that makes you think they're specifically seeking it out, when they find it by accident at the end. I like that this ep shows the Purple Pieman is still a legitimate threat, but after that it's just all right.
Sweet and Sour Grapes - Ever since the first episode, I knew that eventually there was going to be an episode that addressed Raspberry getting added to the main friends group but not Sour Grapes, and while it took most of the season to get there, it was worth it. I liked that the misunderstanding between Sour Grapes, Raspberry Tart, and Bread Pudding was a subtle and understandable one (she felt pushed out by them joining the main friends group, they thought she didn't have time for them because of working for her uncle). And Lemon being the one to relate to Sour Grapes felt very satisfying. A solid ep.
Peculiar Purple Partner, Parts 1 & 2 - The climax of season two's story arc. The Purple Pieman gets a jazzy villain song to seduce Strawberry into joining him, all as a ruse to claim her foodtruck as his own by firing her for flimsy, but contract-bound, reasons. And just like Strawberry, I did not see that coming. I knew he had something up his sleeve, obviously, just not that particular plan. Strawberry's friends rallying around her in the aftermath was super touching, but none more so than Bread doing a meaningful echo of his first words to her back in episode one of season one. As soon as Lemon said she puts mics in everything, I knew that's how the Pieman would get his comeuppance, and while he may not be part of the Berryworks any more, time will tell if he'll be around to cause trouble in season three.
Let's Go to the Movies - While I know it's for the sake of the episode, I kind of have to wonder why so many people got to the movie so early. Episodes about the little annoyances in places like this aren't my thing either, so I'm just glad that the movie itself was good.
Let the Good Times Roll - I 100% appreciate the roller rink being called Starfruit Express, which is no doubt a nod to the musical Starlight Express (where the cast perform on roller skates to portray anthropomorphic trains). As the season ender, I liked that we got to see most of the characters we met over the season, and the song itself was pretty good, too.
Well, it took way longer to write all this up than I expected, so I'm going to close it there.

Campaign 1 Watch Guide
With the release of the animated series, here is a small watch guide covering the recorded live show with some short summaries and their comparable episode of the animated series. The comments also usually have a time stamp guide buried in them but you may need to scroll for a bit to find it. Later episodes of VM has this pinned but not earlier ones unfortunately.
First Mentions of the Briarwoods and Banquet: 23-27 Briarwood Arc (AKA What is covered in TLOVM): 28-35 Post Briarwood: 36-38 Wanna pick up where LOVM ends? I suggest starting with episodes 37 or 38. Just here for the next Arc of the series and no down time? Start with episode 39.
Link to the playlist
Link to “The Story of Vox Machina” with subs; This is a rough retelling of the party’s adventures before the start of them recording it live. Has some interesting character backgrounds and insight. Definitely worth a watch whether or not you’re watching it live. Finally, I have given summaries of each episode below the cut with their animated counterpart.
Happy Watching!
Pre-Briarwood:
Episode 1-22: The series starts with the campaign already 2 years in progress so it picks up quite literally in the middle of a quest as VM has been tasked to find Lady Kima for Allura in Kraghammer. Much of this appears to be dropped to simplify the story of Vox Machina but if you want an episode guide for these episodes in particular, please let me know!
Episode 23: At the 3 hour mark, you will find the first mention of the Briarwoods. The episode also talks about Grog’s rivalry with Kern, a fighter from the Crucible, and introduces Kynan Leore, a young wide eyed fan of Vox Machina who wishes to join them. Episodes 24: Prep for the banquet, vampire lore drops, and the reveal of Percy’s history with them.
Episode 25: The actual banquet and first onscreen appearance of the Briarwoods. Episode 3 of TLOVM.
Episode 26: The fallback from their actions in the previous episode, they go on a side quest while Percy stays at the keep preparing for their journey to Whitestone. Episode 3 of TLOVM.
Episode 27: It is house cleaning time as the party preps for their battle in Whitestone. If you would like to skip the shopping and some actions of a player at the table, skip to circa 2:43:00. This also the last appearance of Tiberius at the table if you would like to skip his time on the show overall.
Briarwood Arc:
Episodes 28-35: This is the entirety of the Briarwood Arc that is covered by the animated series. I will give a brief summary with its best parallel in TLOVM. Some episodes were obviously changed to fit a show’s script from what was done live so I recommend combing through the comments for a time stamp guide if you want a particular scene or moment.
Episode 28: The party makes their journey to Whitestone with Emon in their mirror but get into trouble along way way. Episode 5 of TLOVM.
Episode 29: The first name on Percy’s list of Sir Kerrion Stonefell is about to be wiped off as Vox Machina enterers their first battle for Whitestone. Episodes 6 of TLOVM (Note Archibald is changed from an older advisor to Percy’s father to his childhood best friend in the animated series)
(This is also the start of things getting really swapped around for story’s sake in the animated series)
Episode 30: More searching through the city trying to uncover the secret plot of revolution and the introduction of Keeper Yennen who alerts Percy that he is not the only de Rolo who survived the massacre. Also episode 6 of TLOVM
Episode 31: Scanlan takes on a one man mission to escape the trap that puts himself against Duke Vedmire. The rest of VM going against a part of the “New Nobles” that the Briarwoods put into place after the murder of the de Rolo family starting with Tylieri, a royal with a love of cruelty. Episode 7 of TLOVM
Episode 32: An undead army is making its horrific way through Whitestone but a little cleric is about to do a shit ton of damage to help with that. Episode 9 of TLOVM
Episode 33: The brutal climb into Whitestone Castle begins where they make an unlikely ally in the dungeons. Climbing up, they also come face to face with Anders who holds Cassandra with a dagger to her throat. This episode is a little bit all over: End of Episode 7 and all of episode 8.
Episode 34: Betrayal flavors the party as they make their own into the depths of Whitestone to come face to face with the Briarwoods themselves. It is time for one hell of a boss fight. Episodes 10-12 of TLOVM.
Episode 35: The party have to contend with Percy’s own inner demons quite literally. They also wrap up the Briarwood arc with a festival to bring some joy back to the town after a long five years. Episodes 11-12 both pull from this episode.
Post-Briarwood: These are events I believe will be covered in season 2. Episode 36-37: Downtime and some lore drops for PCs Episode 38: Start of the next Arc
Episode 36: Vox Machina enjoy Winter’s Crest, an annual event in Whitestone of fun, drink, and food that offers some needed reprieve after the events of the last arc.
Episode 37: A return to Emon means proving one’s innocence and figuring out how the Briarwoods managed to deceive the Tal’Dorei council for so long. Also, Scanlan’s old troupe show up with a hefty dose of trouble.
Episode 38: Scanlan meets a young lady named Kaylie who is more than she appears while the rest of the party journey to General Kriegs now abandoned home hoping to pocket some valuables and information. Episode 2 of TLOVM. Note: In the live show, VM has been traveling far longer than in the animated series. The original fight covered in episode 1 happened two years before the Briarwood arc. The fight also happened long before they started recording their game.
Episode 39: The party is invited to a royal announcement of Sovereign Uriel the II. This is only the start of where everything changes as they start the story that defines the rest of the the campaign.

OKAY
I have been entreated by the lovely @weirdfishy (they're great, you should go check zem out) to completely go off about a couple of my ocs.
SO, buckle up buttercups, there's gonna be a Very long post below this cut:
LETS. GET. STARTED.
Sindri and Orlane Garrik. These guys are dnd characters, and are brother and sister. They are Forest Gnomes, and have the Noble background. While Sindri is older than Orlane, I'm gonna talk about her first, since she was created first. Now these guys are still technically dnd characters, but I have had very little opportunity to actually play either of them very much. Pretty much all of their development and experiences and stories are things that I have come up with that have not actually happened in any campaign or one-shot. Also neither were created entirely at level 1 and have been reworked at different levels a couple times, so neither of them have a hard level that they are at.
With Orlane, I was trying to think of a character idea one time and thought, "what about a mute bard?" So that's what she is! Lemme give some of her technical dnd stuff and then get into the backstory and personality. Subclass College of Lore, she's around levels 3-5, and Neutral Good. Among her cantrips and spells are ones like minor illusion (which is a racial cantrip), dancing lights, comprehend languages, calm emotions, suggestion, and major image. She's a performer, likes to incorporate magic into her acts, and doesn't use any directly damaging spells, preferring to affect battle with spells like hold person and enhance ability.
INTO THE BACKSTORY!!
So like I mentioned earlier, they have the Noble background. Well, I've gone the 'asshole noble parents' route with this. Orlane was born, and they celebrated having another child, but their attitude changed when they finally figured out that she was born mute. She started getting a kind of Rapunzel treatment, completely shut away with only tutors. It never really becomes relevant, but they also make it seem like she doesn't exist to the other noble families. Now obviously, this kind of childhood is just stifling. She finds a form of escape in her music, encouraged by her music and languages tutor, who is a much better parental figure to her. It becomes her dream to be a bard and travel around to all the places she reads about. The other highlight of her life is her older brother, who sneaks away whenever he can to play dragonchess with her and tell her stories, as well as pulling pranks where she could see the aftermath to cheer her up. Eventually, when she's old enough, he helps her get away from home to start following her dream. Abandoning everything from her noble life besides her brother and her favorite tutor, she sets out to finally begin her life.
She thrives equally with the thrill of an adventure and the thrill of a performance. With a cheerful disposition and penchant for creative eye-catching magic accompanying her songs, she finds a measure of success as an entertainer, and is a particular favorite of children. Preferring to travel with company, she'll tag along with merchant groups, other travelling performers, and anyone going anywhere. Even though she had an excellent book education, she can sometimes be just a bit naive due to her isolated upbringing. Tending to take people at their word and believe the best of them, she wears her heart on her sleeve. And despite the way they treated her, she still secretly hopes that one day, she can go home and be welcomed with love and acceptance from her parents. She can play a small variety, but her instrument of choice is the fiddle, and she also carries a pan pipe around her neck. Since she is mute, she has several other methods of communication. She knows sign language, and carries a small slate if she wants to write, but if she wants to be a little dramatic (which is a lot of the time) she'll use her minor illusion cantrip to make words appear mid-air. Minor illusion can also produce sound instead of an image, she doesn't often use it like that, but if she does it sounds one of two ways. It's either using other peoples voices, ala kenku style, but if she doesn't use a specific voice then it sounds like a robotic text-to-speech. (that little tidbit is just because i think its funny)
NOW ITS TIME FOR MY BOY
I think it is important to note that I did not at first intend to create Sindri as a full fledged character. Originally, he was just a mention in Orlane's backstory. My friend who was DM had particularly liked this bit, "While they mostly traveled separately, she and her brother would make sure to meet up at least once a year. They would choose a new city to meet, and spend a week or two together catching up. But more importantly, they spent that time pulling pranks, tricks, and causing general mischief and mayhem." He asked me to make up a character sheet for him so he could bring him in as a fun cameo or something. That never ended up happening, but it doesn't really matter because now he's even more developed than his sister.
Sindri is a Rouge, subclass Arcane Trickster, which gives him access to spells from the wizard spell list in the schools of illusion and enchantment. He's around levels 7-10, and is Chaotic Neutral. He has the same racial cantrip, as well as prestidigitation, message, and mage hand (which in particular gets an upgrade with the arcane trickster subclass). By way of spells, he also doesn't really go for damaging spells, preferring instead to use illusions and other affective spells like disguise self, charm person, blur, and invisibility. He also has the spell 'find familiar' (which, no, is not from illusion or enchantment, but you get a few exceptions), and his familiar takes the form of a raven, his favorite bird. He names it Renlef, but generally shortens it to Ren.
As they are siblings, their backstories are therefore very similar, but with different perspectives. Sindri is the elder sibling, the heir. When his little sister was born, from the start he simply adored her. He could usually be found in one of two places when not in lessons, the woods or his baby sister's room. He didn't understand, when his parents shunned her, and would near constantly sneak away to be with her. Confusion quickly gave way to anger as he grew older, and he began to resent his parents for the way they treated her and was furious anytime they tried to keep him away from her. Hating how sad and lonely she would get, he began to pull pranks. Carefully planned, so that she could see from her windows either the trick itself or the hilarious aftermath. This is the beginning of their mutual love of pranks and mischief. Due to his parents behavior, Sindri starts to become disillusioned with the noble life he leads, and he eventually can't stand it anymore. He leaves home, and only visits to check on Orlane and tell her stories about his travels. The happiest day of his life is the day Orlane gets out of their family's house for good.
Sindri's preferred victims to humiliate and rob are people who abuse power and those who they have power over, such as arrogant, corrupt nobles and politicians. (kinda robin hood, leverage-esque inspired here) His tricks tend towards the vindictive, cruel, and humiliating when targeting them. They also serve as an excellent way to enrage and distract while he robs them silly. He does keep a substantial amount of loot for himself, enjoying a comfortable lifestyle if not the lavishness of his noble youth, but also gives some back to the citizens living under his latest victim. While he is by no means a bad hand with his short swords and concerningly large collection of daggers, in a fight he prefers using illusions and trickery to confuse and distract his opponents.
In his life and travels through the darker and seedier underside of things, he has just two hard rules. Keep your word and don't touch kids. His trust and loyalty is a hard thing to earn but easy and dangerous to lose. Lies are all a part of the business, he'd be a hypocrite if was against it, but True Betrayal? That is unacceptable. And kids, harming children is an even faster way than betrayal to end up on the wrong end of one of his daggers.
One of his strongest traits is his protectiveness over his little sister. Like, to an extreme, he is concerned over her health, safety, and happiness. The day she leaves home, he gives her a gift he had gotten made in anticipation. It is a bracelet of soft brown braided leather, simple and sturdy with little green crystals woven all through it. He asks her to promise to wear it always, she deos so, and to her, that's all there is to it. But what she doesn't know is that it is a powerful magic item that he spent a lot of gold getting custom made. It's one half of a paired set, the other item being a necklace that Sindri never takes off. Very simple and unassuming to the eye, the necklace is a strong black cord holding a clear crystal that is about the size of a finger and three inches long. While wearing it, he can speak a command word and the crystal will point in the direction of Orlane. At any time, if Orlane's life is in genuine danger, the crystal will glow white and automatically point to her. If this happens, he will drop whatever he is doing, and make his way to her no matter what. The crystal has one final state, where it turns black and stops pointing. Which means that the wearer of the bracelet has died. If this ever happens, Sindri. Will. Go. Beserk. His alignment would immediately flip to Chaotic Evil and who or whatever is responsible has signed their death warrant in his eyes. Vengeance will be dealt with extreme prejudice. (it is possible for the necklace to go black and then clear again. resurrection, or someone else putting on the bracelet. which is the true nightmare scenario. if it went black, then back to clear, and he found someone else wearing his sister's bracelet? they are dead where they stand)
~
Now for some other, happier stuff, such as what they look like, a bit more into their dynamic together, and then just fun tidbits.
Orlane is 3'6" and has green eyes and long black hair gathered mostly in one big braid with a few smaller ones either side of her face. She primarily wears bright green and yellow, accented with brown leather and silver jewelry, which is mostly rings and hair ornaments. A short hooded cape, gray with silver detailing, completes her outfit if she wants to add some extra flair to a performance.
Sindri is 3'9" and has blue eyes and his black hair is kept in a neat, fashionable short cut. His fashion is much darker, consisting of deep reds and blues with black leather and gold jewelry, all of which is in several ear piercings, a couple of eyebrow piercings, and a nose ring. He has a long cloak with a deep hood that is reversible. One side is a dark gray useful for staying unnoticed in big cities and small alleyways, the other a dark green suited for hiding in forests.
The two of them are very much a balance for each other in many ways. His tricks are meaner and harmful, hers are playful and harmless. She is trusting, optimistic, and sees the best in everyone. He is suspicious, pessimistic, and is always watching for lies. She'll make a big over-the-top distraction while he charms and sneaks around in the background unnoticed. They can both be prone to rash decisions, but are usually clever enough to get themselves out of any trouble they get it.
Orlane is pan, and completely terrible at flirting. Lucky for her, its very cute when she gets flustered. A hopeless romantic, she falls a little in love wherever she goes. (listen to Someone New by Hozier) Sindri is very charming, and can flirt well when he wants to, which is usually when he is trying to do something or go somewhere. He's not opposed to a small fling every once in a while, it's usually fun, but otherwise he is uninterested in any of it. He is aro/ace.
Both of these guys are kinda self-inserts in a way I guess. I've given the both of them different traits of mine. They share the love of mischief and pranks. She gets the love of music, art, and wildflowers. He has the love of being sneaky and having lots of hidden daggers everywhere. Shamelessly projecting onto him my deep and abiding love of the trope of having an inexplicable and frankly unreasonable amount of weapons hidden on your person. (and theyre all daggers of various sizes)
There's a few feats that I've got my eye on to eventually get for Sindri. Linguist, for the three extra languages, Dual Wielder for obvious reasons, and Keen Mind because I think its cool and fits his character.
Sindri's relationship with his familiar is very close, Ren is much like a pet to him.
Because he can find her easily via the enchanted bracelet, whenever they meet up, Sindri always sneaks up and scares Orlane. She can never figure out how he is able to find her so well despite her efforts, and sometimes gets frustrated about not being able to do the same to him, again despite her efforts.
Orlane is the type to panic when confronted with a crying child, and will either go searching for a parent, or attempt to distract them with magical illusions. Sindri is very good with children, and can easily get them to calm down and talk to him.
~
That's all I can think of for now! I would just reblog later with any additions I think of, but this is long enough already, so I'll just make sure to tag things.
(edit: forgot to put their heights lol. theyre gnomes and are short)

[transcript: a powerpoint presentation of black text on white background, written entirely in comic sans.
start slide one the top left corner reads in red, "warnings (most relevant) war, death, drugs (& addiction), poison". in the center, "the wicked within", and underneath it in smaller font, "a comic sans reintro by @47crayons". the comments around the entire slide read "a family that is so found!!!", "gang rivalry :D and gang content in general", "crime found family basically", "childhood friends to STILL FRIENDS", "all queer cast :p", "eat the rich (not quite, but it’s the right sentiment aldskjfls)", "kickass women, yeah bay bee", "nuanced relationships between different groups :D", "morally grey characters!!!", "so many different governments!!!", "a (mostly alsjflksdj) stable relationship!!!" end slide one
start slide two in the beginning of time… there were four gods: eltenjer, he/him, earth; skari, he/him, fire; aenged, they/them, air; thilda, she/her, water. i didn’t /mean/ for them to have genders, but a quiet breeze whispered “psst. i use they/them.” in the beginning? so you mean… they’re not there anymore? kind of! the gods need followers to survive, and after several unfortunate events, they lost the majority of their followers. the aforementioned unfortunate events: the great ruination, in which natural disasters caused several years of famine and other hardship. the restoration era, in which renovation led people to believe they can live without the gods. if the gods are dead, what’s the point? the gods aren’t /really/ dead, closer to dormant. they can’t actively interact with the mortal realm, but IF they had followers, they would come back to life. oh. did i mention that they control the magic. end slide two
start slide three the dormant gods who can't do... anything control the magic??? hey, no one said magic always has to work. foreshadowing alert huge foreshadowing alert. let’s talk about how magic works, shall we :D people use the Spirit to do magic. people have a Vessel (representation of stamina or how much Sprit can be used at once, can be trained!). people also have a Strength (a type of magic that works well with the user, these have varying frequencies which also depends on location). there’s too much i could say here, but the important thing is the main characters’ Strengths. the right depicts an image of a flowchart showing that gods need followers and produce sprit. people need spirit to do magic. end slide three
start slide four okay but where are we??? where could the magic be so fucked? well, here, of course! the left side shows a line art map, split into five parts going clockwise: portingdale, worchester, the hooks, elderwood, unlabeled. the legend shows that there are mountains in portingdale, forests in elderwood, and rivers that run from portingdale to everywhere else. the place where the four labeled regions meet is called the Inner City. the text on the right reads. welcome to Kjer! there are 3 districts. but wait! there are five? sections? and one isn’t even labelled. worchester used to be a district,,, but it left after the war began. the unlabeled section is the disputed region (re: war). let’s talk more about this war. elderwood wanted easier access to water (see: the rivers in the Wetlands) elderwood & portingdale have been fighting there on and off for over half a century. the hooks has three wards: west (hella rich), south (lower income), north (somewhere in between). end slide four
start slide five whomst. skip to the next slide if you want the actual characters. character basics: the unnecessarily-winded-and-cram-a-lot-of-lore-in version. in the North Ward of The Hooks, there are three main gangs. Kaer Styen, meaning “wicked ones”, Ghetfaer Skarnen, meaning “trickster lords”, Ad Knesten, meaning “the grumbles”. that was so many capital letters i don’t like capital letters alskjdflksjd. they have rivalries and conflicts from time to time, but it’s pretty rare. the tww cast is kaer styen !!! their main means of profit is a drug called jezdin. relieves physical and mental pain. lethal in high. quantities/ when tampered with. can also be addictive. they operate out of a dingy tavern-like building, and they live upstairs!!! okay so this is purely for vibes. how did u know. end slide five
start slide six the Gang. literally :3 Kaer Styen, my beloved. the first thing in each of their bios is their Strength (re: the magic slide). artbreeders!!! i fixed quite a few of them, but my artbreeder skills are questionable at best. this slide is split into three columns. the first column shows a white person with short, brown, curly hair and a firm, but not angry, facial expression. len, he/him, pan. Shifter (can manipulate physical properties). cynical, very cynical (because he has killer instincts). “oh people are dying? am i dying? are you dying? why should i care?” in a relationship with cal. the second column shows a person who appears east asian with long, black, wavy hair and fair skin. chloe, she/her, aroace. Chemist (chemistry but magical). literal archery god. also she’s so quiet it’s SCARY. seems welcoming, emphasis on /seems/ she’ll destroy your ass. knows what you’re feeling. she just. knows. the third column shows a white person with dirty blonde hair. they are smiling. cal, they/them, bi. Whisperer (can persuade others through speech/music). so casually funny all your burdens disappear for a hot minute. gets very attached very deeply. grew up in Portingdale which becomes Important later. end slide six
start slide seven cont. also they have piercings!!!! maybe i will make some picrews later (listen, i KNOW i’ve said this before but. maybe i’m for realsies this time, okay?) this slide is also split into three columns. the first a smiling white female with light blonde hair. eden, she/her?, demi lesbian. Healer (healing magic <3). seen hell and doesn’t want others to suffer. still believes in the gods’ existence. we Don’t talk about her awful parents. raised by a lovely woman in the South Ward, known as Nana. this eye (left) is almost PURPLE which i didn’t do on purpose but is honestly such a cool idea. the second column shows a partially smiling black man with short curly hair. jereth, he/him, gay. powerful life magic thing (will be spoilers if i talk any more). joins them at the beginning. honestly kind of scared of them (who wouldn’t be), but wants to live up to expectations. throws himself into stuff to avoid Thoughts. the third column shows a woman with brown skin, black wavy hair, and a small smile. she is NOT a member of Kaer Styen, but i’m talking about her here all the same. adalaide, she/her, bi (i didn’t like the e in adelaide alskdfjlsj). Melder (metals and the like). heir to the Portingdale throne (assuming her dad doesn’t disown her). Cal’s ex from a few~ years ago she’s still a lil’ hung up on them. technically an antagonist but i love her. so all my characters are queer sue me </3 end slide seven
start slide eight some semblance of plot? coming right up!! the four (jereth isn’t there yet!) are attacked in the Inner City. turns out it’s portingdale soldiers. and then they discover that portingdale has been poisoning the southern rivers (affects worchester and the south ward) because worchester doesn’t really contribute to Kjer as a whole. word gets out, and elderwood, naturally, is even angrier at portingdale (remember, they've been at war). so, they try to stop portingdale from being power hungry enough to poison the entirety of a country while learning about why worchester is so isolated while ALSO trying not to get killed by everyone who hates them. end slide eight
start slide nine memes :> the first is the meme of spongebob reading a sheet of paper and burning it. the paper reads, "going into worchester by yourself is going to get you KILLED", and spongebob is labelled "chloe". the second is the levels of brain template labelled "jereth". from the weakest to most powerful: "trying to figure out his magic", "doing it by accident", "saving everyone's lives". the third is the sleeping person and brain meme. brain: "you're going to portingdale". cal: yeah, i know. brain: you'll see adalaide. cal's eyes are wide open in fear. the fourth says "corporate needs you to find the difference between this image and this image". the first image says, "family", and the second one says, "len, chloe, cal, jereth." eden says, "they're the same picture". the fifth is the spiderman copycat meme where jereth is copying len. end slide nine
