yes omg shouto does look so good in the new chapter true….speaking of him i reread the shouto route because I love himb and I love the scene where he finds out they’re soul mates and it starts the whole marriage/assassination attempt miscommunication so much I’m drawing the entire scene in a cute little romance manga aesthetic SINCE ITS WHAT HE DESERVES!! Here’s a little snippet on what I’ve worked on so far that’s decent, I love this part especially and I’ve had it roughly sketched up for AGESSSSSSSS but because shouto is very h*nds*me it also makes him very hard to draw right, so it takes forever 😞😞 his curse. I hope you like it so far!!!

maybe that's a contributing factor to why i'm unsettled by aizawa's haircut: they de-sluttified him. and aizawa deserves to be sluttified; he's got a lot on his plate with being a teacher and a pro hero. shinsou--the longer hair adds a different dimension of slutty to him, but i personally think he wouldn't like it because of its practicality: if his hair could hang in his face, it could get stuck in his metal voice mask. but i guess i can understand its appeal.........it might grow on me eventually, but rn it's not for me. but fashion decisions cannot stop my love for them.,,.,..

I dont really have a favourite trope to read. I like reading anything as long as its like well written and third person and people are like very OOC. I like reading fluff because its very sweet and its a nice way to turn your brain off. However I do like angst cuz i enjoy the whole "im gonna rip your heart now lol" and considering that people in the wrestling fandom are horny [and I love yall all so much, nodding along in ace! yall are doin awesome hons!!] I have become so chill with smut which is suprising since anything regarding sex would cause us to dissociate

It isnt really a trope I dont think, more of a pet peeve. people writing lack of consent [i have done this but it was a plot device] but consent is important not just for sex but for things like touching or drinking or whatever and it would nice in fics for someone to take someone elses "no" in like a non-sexual way and kinda just go "oh okay" instead of a "go on!" also more trans people content where theyre not being used as a fetish or like just for the idea of kids existing in a fic through like mpreg. Like I have nothing against mpreg, people can write what they wanna and read what they wanna, but when people are only using like trans masc people as "men with wombs" its like, kinda weird. And like adoption and stuff exists

as i’ve been threatening for literally months now, tiny martin is finally done! I Love Himb with my whole heart, and like with making tiny jon, i just had to create a version i could hug when things get rough in canon.

once again, the pattern has been ganked from designs by allison hoffman (craftyiscool) on ravelry, but i’ve done a lot of customisation :)

The Making Of Tiny Martin

so as i mentioned above, the pattern has been ganked together using allison hoffman (craftyiscool)’s amigurumi patterns for other things. mostly, his pattern was modified from the notes i made when i made tiny jon. however! a note for all inexperienced crocheters: Not All 8 Ply Yarn Is The Same! following the same pattern i used for tiny jon, his torso came out a solid 2/3ds the size i wanted it :/

there was a lot of guesswork involved in this one, which is why he took so long, but i’m super proud of how he turned out! also, his hair is done using a technique i may have come up with myself, bc i’ve never seen it in my google searches or in any pattern i’ve seen. so many loops and tiny knots........ it took forever, but i’m really pleased with his lil curls :D

He was ostracized by his own people. He fought so hard to protect them. He's the start of the unbreakable Hero's Spirit. He got one-shotted by Demise. Ghirahim tried to kill him several times. Hylia was in love with him (but was she really?). He hates Hylia with a burning passion for what she did to him and the rest of the heroes. None of the heroes are his reincarnation. He knows they all hold a piece of him with the Hero's Spirit and can tell when it awakened in them. He's my fucking BLORBO OKAY??????

Some questions for you to think about, anon.

We all saw Demise murder him dead. We saw that wound. We know he died in Hylia's barbie doll arms. But did he really? He was meant to. But what if he didn't? What repercussions would that have for First? If we didn't kill him off there, why didn't he die? Who saved him?

Because. Consider. That ending with the hero tragically dying, that was dramatic and all. But what purpose did that serve? The start of the hero cycle and what Hylia called them being reborn, of course, but like. What if she lied to him? Why didn't she save him if she truly loved him? She's a fucking goddess. Why would she have just Let Him Die if he didn't complete the role she wanted him to fulfill? What if she lied to him about that? Was he just a piece in her game between herself and Demise? First's death was disposing of a pawn that didn't serve her anymore, a toy that had been broken-- not beyond fixing because she's a GODDESS-- but she didn't deem it worth the effort since she no longer wanted to play with him.

What if. He got to have his meaningful legacy. Not for very long, but what he so desperately needed after being ostracized and imprisoned and used was to feel wanted. He was supposed to have died, and extra time comes at a price, but to him, no price is too great for more days spent with his loved ones. People who actually loved him, not the paltry, brief fixation that Hylia called love. "Gentle spirit." Bullshit. What part about the Hero's Spirit is gentle? That spirit is driven, it's passionate, and hardy and brave and stubborn and loyal and, yes, it's kind too, but gentle is not the culmination of those words. That spirit goes down kicking and screaming through trials and anguish and every single fairy revive and game over.

So what if First was allowed another shot for a limited time? What would he do then? I wonder, anon. I wonder.

Mad Eye Moody New Years Appreciation post.

I love this goober with all my heart. He’s a big ol ham, and himb baby.

His eye is fine. He was found in a hot engine as a smol kitten, and that his whole side of his face was burnt up. It healed really well, and he refuses to let us fix it up. So he’s just got a wonky eye. Which just makes his name even more fitting.

beastars post and spoilers for season 2

oh boy!! I watched the second series and I can't wait for the last episode of it! a lot of the stuff is mainly filler but here's some things I like:

PINA. PINA'S WHOLE CHARACTER. just himb. I enjoyed him in the manga and I adore him in the anime, he's such a good character. amazingly voiced, a fabulous mixture of annoying and arrogant and sweet and funny and charming, amazing. every time he comes on screen I find myself excited about what he's going to say next, they did such a great job

the voice acting is IMPECCABLE. it's stunning, the people they picked for the voices are just how I imagined them. (for reference I watched the sub, though I don't think the dub's out yet) the emotion and strength is really there. especially Pina's whole "And...my fear of dying is also mine alone." speech while rehearsing was beautifully portrayed and I enjoyed that scene so much

the animation! once again, amazing. the dancing scene with Juno and Louis might have needed a bit of work though? idk it looked awkward to me but that doesn't matter right now. the lighting, the way the characters move so naturally, even the frame speed was good if we really want to get down to it

I love that we're seeing more of Gouhin (we won't be in the third series, it's like he'll be completely dropped which is sad) and if I remember correctly we'll find out a bit more about him soon? he's a very interesting character in the manga, I hope they'll put some of that in in future episodes maybe

some things I'm dying to see (MEGA SPOILERS for anime watchers):

the scene where Legoshi eats Louis' leg. I can't wait. this better be executed PERFECTLY, with the mention of the 4 and Louis' monologue on how much he wants Legoshi to eat him. I am so excited for this scene I can't tell you-

more Pina! I know we won't be seeing him anymore after the fight with Riz but at least a mention or a memory or something omg

this is probably third and fourth series stuff but whatever!

i saw your post going like "oh this community is small but it's nice" and i was like 🥺🥺 bc i literally just started listening to it yesterday and im only on episode 8 and idk how i've done it bc its a podcast-y thing and im really bad with podcasts. anyway i felt like saying that lucius is my favorite so far. a lot of them are kinda used to the "we're gonna die" every 10 seconds but lucius feels so real, like he's hurting internally but there's no room to talk about it, i just-- idk i love himb...

It's always exciting when someone new gets into hr!!! You have an excellent journey ahead of you my friend. Lucius really is our sweet boy,,,, I love and cherish him with my whole heart.

I don't know if you're listening to the actual podcast, but if you are and think a visual would help, they're also in YouTube videos. Here’s the new & updated long analysis post for ZEP S1. This one features the whole season, all 12 episodes.

Just me...dissecting & analyzing the storyline...with focus on Zoey & Team Max. But since the stories are so intertwined, there’s Zoey/dad & Zoey/Simon talk, too. Among other things...relevant to it all...

ZEP: MAX & ZOEY -  THOUGHTS 1 [LINK HERE]  

PARALLELS

ZOEY & MAX AS NEW TEAM MANAGERS #twoofakind

In 1x02 when Zoey gives her first introductory speech as the new Team Manager on the 4th Floor, she prepares flash cards for the speech..with the first one being her name (Hi, Im Zoey). In 1x10 when Max becomes the new Team Manager on the 6th Floor, he prepares flash cards for his speech..with the first one being his name (Hi, I’m Max).

In 1x02 Zoey makes an awkard joke at the beginning of her speech “Please don’t say anything stupid” (one of her notes to herself). In 1x10 Max makes awkard joke at the beginning of his speech (Please hold your applause til the end" (one of his notes to himself)

In 1x02 Zoey tells Joan that she prepared for the new job by reading multiple books & listening to several popular podcasts on how to be an effective leader. In 1x10 Max tells his new team that he prepared for the new job by reading about a 7-step leadership program..online….

In 1x02 Joan is watching on the background as Zoey gives her team a great motivational speech (in the end)... and connects with them. She smiles like a proud parent seeing this. In 1x10 Ava is watching on the background as Max gives his team a great motivational speech (in the end)... and connects with them.  She smiles like a proud parent seeing this. 

MATCHING OUTFITS 

In 1x12 Max wears a dark green hoodie in the beginning of the episode (Cheesequakes scene)....during the day. And in 1x12 Zoey wears a dark green hoodie (with a zippr, and same colour top/T-shirt under it) later in the episode (Movie Nights/Make out session scene)...later in the same day. They match tone-to-tone in this episode.

TURNING POINTS: DAD’S HEALTH

1x06 vs 1x12 The mud-season finale & the season finale. In 1x06 Zoey's moment with Max was interrupted by a phone call about her dad's health. Because while the episode focused on the Z/S/J triangle, a turn of events had just happened. Max, after witnessing the burnt roses, dropped everything (his plan on finding a date), and was there for Zoey, by her side..every step. Then a phone call, and he made sure she got to her family, and stayed by her side..the whole time (til bedtime). In 1x12 Zoey & Max's movie night "date" make-out session was interrupted by a call about her dad's health. Max made sure she got to her family, and stayed by her side... the whole time (til it was time for "just the family").

1x06 ended with Zoey saying goodbye to Max and shutting the door of her parents house as he left. And this happened after a sweet moment between the two (hug & his promise to always be there for her). And then she leans on the wall next to the door...and hears Max continue singing his heart song to her. This night/song was, IMO, the turning point for her...the moment when she was really starting to see him in a new light. The moment that was her "I think I might love him" moment for her. 1x12 ended with Zoey saying goodbye to Max (after the funeral/wake) and shutting the door of her parents house as he left. And this happened after a sweet moment between them (them sitting on the stairs as he sang his "AP" verse, and him hugging her & giving her a forehead kiss before he left). And then she leans on the wall next to the door...and she starts singing "AP".

CHEESEQUAKES

1x01 We see Zoey getting cheesequakes for her & Simon...but then she learns that he's engaged. It's a "love triangle" moment as she meets Jessica...with her being the third wheel, the one who is jealous... Simon hadn't told Zoey the truth... that he is taken/with someone. 1x12 We see Zoey getting cheesequakes for her & Max...but then Simon arrives. It's a "love triangle" moment as Simon sees the two acting in a "more than just friends" way....and with himbeing the third wheel, who is jealous. Zoey hasn't told Simon the whole ruth about her relationship with Max. Shes claimed that they're just friends, and after this claims he has nothing to be jealous about.

GRIEF ACTIONS 

Grieving Simon proposed to his girlfriend Jessica after his dad's death. Everything points to his proposal being more about trying to pretend to move on. It was a distraction. Grieving Zoey pursued the engaged man, Simon...as her dad'd health was declining and she was preparing for her dad's death. Everything points to her pursuit of him being about pretenting to move on. But is is a distraction. (and so will be her choice to be with Simon...for now, after Mitch's death...)

MRI (BACK TO THE BEGINNING…)

In 1x01 gets an MRI...that goes wrong..."thanks" to an earthquake...and she end up having a "zoeyality" superpower. In 1x02 we hear her sing a song [even if it turns out to be just her dream]...the first one she sings..inbtead of others singing to her. The song is "I've got the music in Me". In 1x12 we/Zoey sees the same MRI machine & same technician/doctor as she's in a hospital [for Emilys false alarm], and he sings to her/hums to himself the song "I’ve got the Music in Me".

Remember how it all started? With Zoey’s MRI in Pilot…going all wrong…because of an eathquake. She went to check on her health because she had concerns..because of her fathers condition. We saw her “take the test”. But… we never heard how it ended. Did the earthquake interfere with the results & she’d have to get another MRI to find out the results? Did she get the results, but never mentioned them?

After the MRI we see her talking to her mom, but it’s never mentioned how the test went. The results…or lack of them…is never mentioned… until episode 11. Instead…after the experience she’s “going crazy” - hearing everyone sing their inner feelings. But not once does she mention the MRI in any other context than it being the result she got her superpower. And we’ve only heard her mention it to her family, Mo & Max, no one else even knows she got an MRI.

A lot of things in the series are hinting at Zoey having the same disease as her dad has. And the singing might be her first, early, strange “symptom”. Because she has the same condition is probably why she hears people singing, too. Even the ASL storyline supports it. Not to mention some other scenes & lines from songs in the show. Like her mom/family singing “We’ve Gotta Get Out of This Place” in 1x11. And since we know that the lyrics of the heart songs tell the truth and are part of the narrative/story, then they have a real meaning.

A stranger at the caskett room sings during Maggie’s song: “Now my girl you’re so young and pretty, and one thing I know is true: You’ll be dead before your time is due, I know” & later Maggie sings the same lines, and then the camera moves to Zoey…witnessing the song, and it doesn’ really feel like it’s cause we see it all from her POV..but cause the line is a “clue” for her…

CHIRP vs ZOEY-ALITY PARALLELS

Invading privacy. How come no-one has mentioned this? Especially Max. We’ve seen him be concerned about “mind reading”, and then they’re all working on “mind reading code”

I do think that all this was done intentionally & they chose to use a piece of technology that is similar to Zoeys ability…to make a point..in the future. And I’ve found it quite interesting that no-one has…yet (by the end of episode 11) questioned how ethical the tech is, or how it could invade peoples privacy.

If they’d had a character mention it, I would’ve expected it to be Max. I mean… in episode 1x01 when Zoey asks him what he thinks about te ability to read other peoples minds, he says that he’d get his feelings hurt a lot..more. And he has voiced concern about Zoey being able to “read his mind”…several times. His main concern has been that she can read his mind/see into his heart (via heart songs…while he can’t see into hers…). And he was also very uncomfortable when he found out that everyone could “read him” (that everyone knew he has had a crush on Zoey…forever). He’s the one character whose expressed most concern about people knowing his secret feelings & thoughts. Hence I have been surprised he hasn’t commented on CHIRP yet (until ep 11).

Though anyone on the team might bring it up..at one point. And another good possibility is Simon. Because since he’s still in the dark about her superpower, that would be one way to take it back to the beginning. Cause as we remember from the PIlot, he was “impressed” by Zoey’s ability to “read his mind”..only he thought that that must mean they have a “natural” connection, so when he finds out she had help (from her superpower…which is basically like getting help from a CHIRP technology), he’s gonna have a whole new look on their connection and everything. And he’s most likely gonna be “betrayed” and “disappointed”, because he’ll realize that their connection wasn’t actually real, and she “cheated in the game”.

And CHIRP is most definitely a “plot device”. The parallels to/with Zoey’s abilities are just…too obvious

I was tagged by @alienfuckeronmain for my ten fave ships, and boy howdy, it’s a tough one, given what I’ve read over the years!! I’ll leave RPF-related fic pairings out of this because I don’t need the indirecting, you cowards, but if we’re talking fictional pairing, let’s go!

1. Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuraykin, Man from UNCLE. My forever OTP, always in my heart, etc., don’t care if it’s a movie, a TV show, a book, a fic, a graphic novel, they’re the archetype of my fave personality combo (grumpy stoic meets charismatic charmer cum quasi-himb, enemies to friends to pining to lovers), and I cherish them always.

2. Finn/Poe Dameron, Star Wars. This is a tough one because I feel like the pairing morphed in the last few years into something I don’t love (please no Reylo on the side, please no racial fetishizing), but I always have a soft spot for my original viewing in late 2015, all the fic that came in 2016, and all the interviews that followed.

3. Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji, The Untamed. ARCHETYPE FAVES, wow, talk about nailing the grump/charmer combo, and yes, yes, I’m only on the first third of this show, but I’m savoring it, and I’ve already read one fic I love, and I know I’m gonna DIE when I fully immerse myself, but goddd, this show, this pairing!!!

4. Fox Mulder/Dana Scully, The X Files. Shockingly enough, this pairing matches the style of my other faves, wow! These two have been an obsession from way back, but I’ve also read pretty much every other pairing they could match with on the show, I’m that into their respective strengths as characters.

5. Lightning McQueen/Doc Hudson, Cars. Yet again, ~evidence of my preferred type of dynamic, but honest to god, every fic Phoenix has written here really nails them in this beautifully specific way that I wish everyone would read and marvel at instead of [bitchy comment redacted].

6. Columbo/his unnamed husband, Columbo. This one’s a stretch only because I haven’t dived deep into ao3 yet, only tumblr (or rather, columblr), and my mind is blown by the head canon that all those times Columbo mentioned his wife (and we never saw her), he actually was talking about his husband, but yeah, as a character? He’s one of my faves, and i want to see him get some, don’t care how or who.

7. (tie) Han Solo/Luke Skywalker, Kirk/Spock, Star Wars and Star Trek, respectively. I’m just putting these together because I’m more of a casual fan on the fringes of these two ginormous fandoms, but I absolutely do read and love this pairings (usually current authors, but I’ve also peeped into--and loved--older works, they’re a comfy pair of slippers, the both of ‘em).

8. Every single pairing in Harry Potter. Look, I’m not proud of it, but in the pre-ao3 era, you had to subscribe to/enter all these specific fansites to read HP fic, and I absorbed it all, I literally couldn’t wait between books, so give me your drarry, your linny, your what-EVER, I probably read it, and jkr burned that entire world and fandom to the ground for me, but yeah, will read anything that pisses this author off forever more!

9. 10th Doctor/Rose and 10th Doctor/Jack, Doctor Who. Another one you had to creep into specific servers to find “back in the day,” but I was really into the whole David Tennant/Billie Piper situation (and let’s face it, David Tennant/John Barrrowman, too), which also played into the show fic, so this dips into my RPF ban from the intro, but still, there’s truly great fic in this fandom, all pairings. 

10. I’m gonna cheat and leave this last one as a catch all because there are so many fics and fandoms that I’ll read and love only one fic in, and that’s valid, I only have two eyes. But maybe this is a future Joe/Nicky Old Guard zone, once I finally finish it beyond gifs (or a Witcher zone after I read the books). Or maybe once Phoenix sends me the Jake of State Farm Insurance fic--it can happen!!!  (Oddly related, Star Trek: The Next Generation, god, I can’t even type up all the one-off pairings I’ve read/loved there.)

tl/dr, I’m so grateful to ao3 for making it a billion times easier to follow an author or pairing, to search tags, to find anything in ANY fandom, RPF or not, just because you saw a movie and thought, heyyyyy, what if??
