Ok but like Kevin mfing Day gets onto court opposite him with a pretty good grasp and understanding of how to play against Jean and is shocked appalled horrified a little proud a little turned on when it’s so much harder to get past him than it usually is??? He’s living for it but also about to lose his mind

every time i see a post about how jean has never actually played up to his full potential because of the pain he was perpetually in and when he actually plays while uninjured and well-rested he absolutely obliterates anyone who plays against him, some part of my comes alive

it's been said before but the FUNNIEST thing about the "intricate and endless daddy issues" line is the fact that's it's not even true. like neil straight up made it up for the plot™ like no wonder kevin was freaking the fuck out because "kevin and i talk about your intricate and endless daddy issues all the time" and they don't??? kevin was probably TWEAKING OUT and neil just kept going.

now and then i think back to the scene where neil first revealed his ability to speak french then calling kevin crippled and walked off with the biggest attitude. this guy knew he was going to get absolutely murdered by kevin day but he still slammed the door on him.
