As a gift today i have nightly thought of Legacy and christmas tree, him not understanding why you're bringing a whole tree inside at first only to then get hype when you bring the decorations, its all so shiny!!

I can see him having a blast seeing the tree light up at night, or helping you to put the star on top by holding you! You could also let him do it, and he would be soso careful to not break anything 🥹 you would both enjoy admiring the shiny, tall christmas tree cuddling(and of course Mothman would purr)

it's not Christmas anymore, but i'm still in the festive moth mood!!!

ohh the way his wings begin fluttering when you bring out all the sparkly ornaments- he's basically in heaven, with both the shiny lights and the glittery baubles. Legacy helps you pick which ornaments to put where- his favorites are the ones with crystal details or swirling metallic patterns, and he has a keen sense for where each one will refract light the best. if you have to string the tree with lights yourself, he helps by untangling any knots in the long cord... and then promptly gets himself tangled in it, the twinkling lights all laced around his horns and in his fluff. it creates a little more work for you, but it's definitely worth it to see how mesmerized he looks at the sight of all the glowing dots speckled around his hair and fur- you HAVE to tie a ribbon around one of his horns at some point, it's just a requirement

and the STAR, oh my goodness the star- he adores that thing to pieces. his crystalline eye widens when he first sees it, crouching down and trilling to examine it at all angles. but Legacy absolutely insists that you put it on the top of the tree and will pick you up so you can do just that, his claws wrapping around your waist as he carefully lifts you closer. once the star is positioned and glittering from high above, you shift in Legacy's arms and ask him why he always wants you to put the star up, despite him being the right height for it

Legacy just tilts his head- isn't it obvious? he points a sharp talon at you, then himself, then finally at the star, letting out a happy purr

OH MY GOD THE BATHROOM SCENE THAT WAS PURE PERFECTION!!! I loved how Steve and bug teased Robin about Tammy. Steve being helpless and needing bug for everything, and bug just having to be their babysitter. She's the babysitter's babysitter. More like a nanny cause it's 24/7 for this poor girl. Bug having to scold Robin and Steve, and trying to get them to behave was so real. I just know that girl has a headache. Johnathan and bug running to each other 😭❤️. God I love them so much. They were so worried about one another. I know I'm kinda late on this, but the 80/20 relationship theory with regards to selfshipping and sharing is honestly such a wonderful way to look at it. I didn't participate in the poll bc I didn't like any of the options (I feel meh for the most parts about sharing and chara x chara ships with my f/o. it's part of being on tumblr to me so I've grown to accept it, but I don't outright jump up and down with joy when I see someone else selfship with him. More like just 'oh okay' The exception is my moots bc I love them and it changes the whole dynamic for me)

omegaverse is an alternate universe type setup wherein everyone is born with two sets of sexes, one being evident at birth (male/female/intersex) and one that manifests later in life (alpha/beta/omega). with these secondary systems also come instincts that at times are reminiscent of animal-like behavior (everyone has a scent that can be picked up on by anyone else, some people can purr, growling and nipping as corrective behavior is commonplace in casual settings, etc etc)

omegaverse USUALLY is just a setup for porn (which i am not knocking by any means) but i like to think Way Too Hard about the worldbuilding of it all LMFLMFOG

heats and ruts are somewhat comparable to irl ruts and heats in animals, though not entirely 1 to 1. omegas go through heats and alphas go through ruts. betas are kind of like a neutral zone when it comes to secondary gender and function more on a case by case basis to me personally (omegaverse hcs can vary so i only speak on my own interpretations here) so if they do go into heat/rut, it's not as disruptive as an alpha or omega's. heats are kind of like ovulation and a period in one in my head; can be intense and debilitating physically and emotionally while also being a period of peak fertility. ruts aren't as difficult as heats but still require medical leave from their jobs as alphas in rut beef up (and/or fatten up) and are swayed by their instincts more. which, if resulting in fights, can cause some major damage.

pups are children, there's no big explanation for that jdalkffamgh that's just how it is here. pup is just interchangeable with "offspring" and is only mildly less embarrassing to be called "my pup" by your parent in public rather than "my baby" if you're an adult

claiming (or bonding, it's the same thing; "claiming" implies a little more possessiveness/passion while "bonding" is a very general clinical term) is the act of two people (or more, polyamory is still a thing) marking each other through bites on the scent glands on their neck to show "this one's taken". if dating someone is to be in a social relationship, then claiming is to get into a biological one as the process attunes both parties to one another. bondmates (or just "mates", again it means the same thing, though saying "mates" sometimes can be seen as using archaic terminology in some circles) after that point will sync their cycles up as the entire process was developed through evolution to ensure reproduction. not everyone who is in a relationship will bond with their partner as the initial bite HURTS and if they break up later and let their bond die, their bodies display symptoms not dissimilar to withdrawal in trying to adjust back to how they were pre-bond.
