i just saw a post that was obviously vagueing about that popular vampirism as disability post being like "OF COURSE a post being like 'what if vampires (bloodthirsty predators) were actually the victims and people reacting negatively were the villains' would do well on tumblr, this is the Nothing Is Ever Your Fault website" and it just pisses me off because its like, hey man. modern vampires (the ones that came about in victorian times, that are loosely based on eastern european folklore) have existed for like a hundred years now and people have been characterizing vampires as a 'species' in a bunch of different ways for just as long, and the person who made the original post clearly chose to characterize them as basically normal humans mentally but a bit fucked up physically. yknow, kind of like disabled people

The downside of being a fan of The Boys that nobody talks about: it ruins horror movies for you. 😭😭 It makes you so desensitized that anything that happens in a horror movie, any violence or gore, doesn’t shock you or even creep you out slightly. You just sit there like “damn I’ve seen more fucked up stuff on the boys than this” 😭

Halloween Recommendation: Stephen King's Rose Red

** This one can be tricky to find. It was originally released as a 3 night mini-series in 2002, but then re-released as a motion picture. Apparently Hulu has it?

In 1906, oil barron John Rimbauer built a veritable palace overlooking Seattle. It was his young bride, Ellen, who would give the house it's name: Rose Red.

First blood was drawn before the foundation was even laid. A foreman, murdered over a simple argument. Bizarre deaths and mysterious disappearances plagued Rose Red, swallowing up the Rimbauer family, their servants, friends, and anyone who dared enter.

Eventually, the grand estate fell into disrepair. Paranormal investigators descended upon the property, but none were ever able to solve the mystery, nor stop the deaths.

Now, more than 90 years after the first deaths at Rose Red, Steven Rimbauer, the last living descendant of John and Ellen Rimbauer, has been offered massive sums of money to sell Rose Red. It will be totally leveled, the land used for condos.

Before the house is destroyed, Steven agrees to let Dr. Joyce Reardon and a cobbled-together team of psychics, mediums, and other paranormal investigators do one final sweep of the house.

OH MY GOD. I absolutely hate this book, I am so disappointed. LIKE??? I’ve only heard good things about it on booktok, BUT, I’ve never felt pure rage at a book quite like this. DONT GET ME WRONG, the writing is MWAH, but the plot and the main character, SAMANTHA. SHE MAKES ME SO MAD. But I hate everyone in this book, so more or less said. BUT ALSO *spoiler* I WAS SO EXCITED FOR LIKE A DARK FANTASY HORROR BOOK FOR IT TO LITERALLY BE MEN…. THEY SACRIFICE BUNNIES SO THEY CAN MAKE THEIR OWN FUCKING MEN??? I wanted MIND TWISTING, DISTURBING, TWISTED, LITERALLY ANYTHING NOT MEN. (I am still reading it because it’s super fucking bizarre and weird and even though I HATE it, I am still enjoying it.)

Long story short… this book is a dumpster fire 🫶🏽

today i put on Kevin Can Fuck Himself without explaining and experienced the joy of seeing him go "What. The Fuck, Is This" while knowing that i must've put this misogynistic shitass sitcom on for a reason. and then when that reason dropped his elation and immediate interest spiked.
