#I like to think of it as a character quirk that is totally meaningless but ultimately important to me bc of how random it is

weird little thing I noticed with buffy, like, literally halfway through the first episode, but has anyone else ever questioned why some of her lampshades are upside down? like, is it just a character quirk? or is there a reason she does that?

This might be a really unpopular opinion, but hear me out.
Supposedly some people like so-called 'reader insert' stories, where the writer has created this bizarre blank canvas for the reader to project themselves onto, but for the most part, like... it just looks like lazy writing to me, and I genuinely don't understand what about it is appealing or helps the reader relate to your story in any way, let alone imagine themselves in it.
'You', the reader, didn't do the thing in the story; 'you' don't even have a name in this story. 'You' aren't worthy of being a whole person here. 'You' are only doing very generic and ultimately meaningless things because the writer has neutered 'you' and made 'you' as unremarkable as possible.
Think about it in terms of your blorbo(s), if you have any, or your real life friends or partners or family members:
What makes you love them? What makes them interesting to you? What makes you look up to them? What makes you want ot hug them? What makes you shake your head and roll your eyes at them? What makes you yell at them? What do they do that makes you cry?
Those are the kinds of traits your protagonists need (not to mention names and genders and all that shit).
Or look at video games that have actual protagonists, not blank self-inserts. The Last of Us, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn. Those games are widely loved and held up as some of the great masterpieces of video game narratives because they are about people.
When I think about the stories I relate to hard and fall in love with, the ones that leave a mark and have an impact, the protagonist is always a person. They are definitely not me. They have a name, a face, a body, a gender, a personality. They have quirks and hopes and dreams. They have fucked-up impulses and a dark side and genuinely weird shit happening inside their heads that you just know has to come from the creator's personal experiences, because nobody could make some of that shit up.
But here's the thing: that's what makes me relate. That's what makes me get attached. Those moments where the character does something totally off the wall specific and weird and I go "wow, I'm not the only person on earth who gets nauseated from drinking plain tap water! I feel SEEN!"
And I don't just feel seen or heard. I feel worthy of love or friendship or admiration because this character is shown to be worthy of those things. I feel like I could be a better version of myself because this character is working to become just that, and maybe is already halfway there. I feel like I can summon the will to fight against the things I struggle with because this character - who struggles with some of the same shit I do - is also fighting.
That's what get me hooked. The person who freaks out when different foods touch on their plate. The person who's so used to only being addressed by a nickname that they literally don't respond to their legal name anymore. The person who only ever smokes half a cigarette because they're too damn antsy and impatient to finish the whole thing.
So I guess what I'm saying is... you, the writer, shouldn't do your readers the disservice of assuming they are incapable of relating to your OCs.
They are smart enough, they are interested, they are worth the time and effort it takes for you to develop your protagonist into a real person, and they will love you for it.

Meet Mimic!
(My CoD OC, not me lol)
Lieutenant Renee "Mimic" Foster
(Edit because I forgot to tag @charliemwrites so that Captain Castle Alistair has some idea as to why this creature is so skittish around him. And also so Charlie can squee about her more.)
Tumblr media
Name: Renee "Mimic" Foster
Rank: Lieutenant
Aliases: Mimic, Bunny, Maus, Fawn, The Bard, The human equivalent of a Capybara
Official Callsign: Mimic
Age: 34
Gender/Pronouns/Sexuality: AFAB Agender, she/he/they (predominately uses she/her because it's easier and she doesn't actually give a fuck), Pansexual, Panromantic (Gender is meaningless to a mimic).
Marital Status: Officially Single, Unofficially has enough partners to start several sports teams.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 250lbs of combined fat and muscle. Don't let her plush exterior fool you, she can and will throw down if she has to. She has plenty of thigh, tit, tum, and ass to be the perfect pillow as well. Built for cuddles, but can and will kick your ass.
Hair: Dark brown bordering on black, length ends just between shoulder blades, soft natural waves
Eyes: Pale blue, almost grey in color. Needs corrective lenses to see. Whether she uses contacts or glasses depends on mission requirements.
Personality/Quirks:
AuDHD. Inattentive and hella quiet. Loud, boisterous, and super expressive when hyper.
Wears a choke chain collar outside of missions. Is it a kink thing? No. She likes the weight of it and the sounds it makes when she moves. Can it be a kink thing? Absolutely.
Uncannily laid back and unbothered by most things. It takes a lot to make her angry. Rusty started comparing her to a capybara and often affectionately refers to her as "Capy".
Was in drama, choir, and band. Could definitely have gotten a considerably safer job as that voice actor that surprises you by being the voice of multiple completely different sounding characters.
Terrifyingly perceptive. Her peripheral vision is good enough that she can be sitting right next to a mark and not have to turn to look at them to give updates on their movements.
Practically a shape-shifter. Specializes in infiltration and espionage because she has the energy of an NPC and can integrate herself into most settings so well it just seems natural for her to be there. Need her to be sweet and bubbly? Done. Need an aggressive, short king with a Russian accent? She's got you. Surprisingly androgynous for someone with almost hyper-feminine features.
Fluent in English (native language), German, Russian, and Spanish. Teaching herself Japanese because she is an easily bored millennial weeb.
Sub leaning switch who can dish it out until her targets are puddles, but gets sheepish and flustered the minute she's given a genuine compliment (Stripper likes to make her a squirming mess by whispering praises into her ear while he has a tight hold around her waist. When she can't form proper words anymore is when the kisses start).
A ruthless, efficient killer on missions. Total prey animal off duty.
Sweet as. Will give you the shirt off her back if you need it. Always down to provide cuddles for comfort, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to vent to.
Mom friend. Somehow ends up being the unofficial den mother of every team she works with (except her own, because Big Papa has the parenting handled for the three little goblins ❤️). She has zero issues with this.
The type of person who thinks being low maintenance is a good thing. Very rarely asks for help or support. Big Papa is the only person she (currently) trusts enough to let him take care of her. If you try to take care of her, she will make up some lame excuse to get away, or try to redirect your attention to something else.
Has all of the hobbies of a grandmother. Can knit, crochet, cross-stitch, embroider, sew, cook, and bake. Also does woodworking, works on cars, and makes weapons (yes, doing the forging and smithing herself). As previously stated, she gets bored easily.
Already has arthritis in her hands because she uses them pretty much nonstop.

I think if I had a recognisable writing quirk, a signature of sorts, something that’s recognisably me each time I write... it’d probably be that I never shy away from the consequences of traumatic events, but I also don’t shy away from showing the characters healing.
One of the things I love so much about P5R is how the fandom really gets how the characters - not just the protagonist, but all of them! - have trauma. Palaces as a concept (when used with Akira and/or Akechi) are all about recognising said trauma, and healing from it.
Some of my fics go into this more than others - Cognitive Resonance has the core of the story being Akira pushing everyone away because he’s afraid of how they’ll see him at his lowest points, and having to heal in order to let anyone back in (even Akechi).
Harisen Recovery and “A Little Too Good To Not Be True” are both the idea of “what if Akira was suckered into the false reality, and kept having trouble being sure what’s real after breaking Maruki’s control.” Both of them deal with the aftermath of him not being able to tell anyone when he’s affected, and the courage it takes to talk about it, and especially the coping mechanisms he’d use to remind himself of what’s real.
In Pyrrhic Victories, Akechi has to live with the realisation that his victory was meaningless, and that he has all of the memories of hurting someone he grows to care for even more than he did before.
I have a NG+ role swap AU in the works where one of my favourite things for it is that the boys have a future, one where they’re able to be happy even if they are changed and they’re never going to get back who and what they were.
And talking of NG+ ideas... all this came up because I was reminded of this one idea I’ve never yet written (though given my current feelings, I may be going back to it).
Akira, having gone through an indeterminate amount of time either looping to the start or back to a prior safe room or just a single loop, just... he’s been living parts of the same year for a while now. But he’s already out, and Akechi comes to visit his hometown to tell him that he’s alive after Maruki, and at some point in their conversation the whole “Akira is a time traveller” thing comes out. He remembers things he shouldn’t. More than that, he’s deathly afraid that he’s going to reach a point where he does something wrong and wakes up a week or two in the past. Or he walks down a familiar street at night and he’s back on the night he first got arrested. Or he’ll wake up on the train to Shibuya, and he’ll have to do everything all over again.
And to be honest, as much as I love NG+ time travel stories, this is a big thing that I think gets left out of a lot of them. The sense of - when does it end? Can we be sure it does? Not knowing that a cycle has been broken is a specific kind of horror. There’s no future, because there’s only the past. Nothing you do makes a mark on history, because for you, the world ends and begins with the loop. You can never be sure that the world outside of it moves on without you. If it goes far enough that a person has children, does going back in time erase those children? Does it mean they’ll never be born, or that they’ll grow up into a totally different person?
For my own story, I liked the idea of Akechi being the point of view character, having this horror of realising what his rival had been going through without telling anyone up until now (or has he? was there a time when he tried, and it failed? or did it work, and he had to leave that behind?) and, in spite of not having wanted to get back into contact with the Thieves more than necessary, texts Futaba and tells her that they need to get Akira back to Tokyo, because all he has in his hometown is basically silence and Morgana, and Morgana isn’t enough.
(Sometimes, the hope that things will work out and that tomorrow will be tomorrow isn’t enough.)
So, Akira coming back and having everyone support him, remind him that he’s moving forward. Get him tools to help if he ever does get sent back, even if everyone hopes it never happens, because it’s like giving a kid a stick to fight off dragons with (and if the dragons are real - they have a stick to fight with).
Just... if someone’s had something traumatic happen to them, the break isn’t going to happen immediately. And it’ll be like earthquakes, with tremors and aftershocks. Like grief, it comes in waves.
This is one of the reasons I love hurt/comfort, because if I’m gonna traumatise my characters, then no way am I just going to leave them like that! It’s like impaling someone. If I leave them in the situation, it’s like leaving the object inside of them. If I take them out of the situation but I don’t give them the ability to heal from it, it’s like yanking it out and letting them bleed to death. But if I take them out of the situation, if I give them a support network, if I tell them it’s okay to hurt but to say when it’s hurting so that people can help... that’s basic first aid. That’s making sure they don’t die (or, just that they don’t fall into despair, time and time again, or break into something less.)
I see the term “kintsugi” used in terms of letting emotional scarring heal, and to be honest... this is the kind of thing that comes to mind.

HEADCANONS REQUEST: ❝cat S/O.❞
Tumblr media
[ Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia ] [ Characters: Bakugou Katsuki ]
「Headcanons of Bakugou who meets S/O who's similar to Sohma Kyo from Fruits Basket.」
BAKUGOU KATSUKI
♤ My God, the two of you area always yelling at each other. A bit too much that everyone in the vicinity thinks that someday, you both will just start resorting to using your fists. The two of you were very simlar in many ways. You met Bakugou because you were the student in charge of his costume repairs. Though you were very hot headed, Bakugou had to admit that you were one of the best students in your class and was relieved that you were the one doing his repairs and modifications. Its mainly because you had the confidence you talk back to him and tell him what works and what doesn't.
♤ You never expressed it but you actually cared about Bakugou a lot. The responsibility is very heavy on your shoulders, because if you fuck something up, he’s gonna end up getting hurt because of your mistake. As a student from the department of support, you couldn’t let that happen. Though you tell yourself that, it was undeniable that you harbor some feelings for him, no matter how much you both argue bicker and fight over meaningless things.
♤ How did Bakugou discover your secret—quirk? It was pure accident, really. While the two of you were bickering about God knows what, Bakugou had accidentally used his quirk and blew up the metal frame on the shelf that held your equipment which caused it to topple down. Out of reflex, he used his own body to shield you from the falling furniture which caused smoke to suddenly materialize. Bakugou was quick to cover his nose and mouth, fearing that it was poison. However what surprised him was when he realized he was holding your uniform and that there was a cat sitting atop your clothes.
♤ This guy has a hard time believing that it was you who turned into a cat, until you yelled at him to believe that it was you. Bakugou finds it quite amusing and makes fun of you for a while until you bit his hand and scatched his cheek. He grabbed you by the tail and threatened to blow it up which ultimately stopped your rabid behavior. You everntually tell him about your quirk and demanded him not to try anything funny in public after knowing this. It might be your weakness but Bakugou would never do such a thing to you so rest assured, he still has some respect for you.
♤ Despite how much he bickers with you, he knows to not mess with you especially with your quirk. It turns you into a cat which meant when you do, you lose all your clothes and revert back to human naked. The first time it happened, you were both embarrassed beyond belief. Whenever he finds you in your cat form, he will make fun of you for a while and mess around with you. But he makes sure to help you gather your clothes and accompanies you until it wears off in the infirmary.

Gaming Dates with Shigaraki (drabble)
SHIGARAKI X READER
!!!PLEASE DO NOT REPOST AND/OR ADD ONTO!!!
Word count: 1.2k
Links
I was too lazy to turn this into a longer story so heres random domestic fluff to feed my nightly fantasies
To most, with one glance at the ‘maniac’ known as Tomura Shigaraki, they would most likely assume he's some ‘cold-blooded serial killer who kills everyone around him. Although they weren’t wrong there was one exception for the so-called ‘cold-blooded’, ‘shell of a man’ and it was you.
One might ask, ‘How could such a girl as yourself tame a monster like him?” Well, it’s simple, really, he’s not a monster, never has been and never will be; though you had to find that out the hard way.
You could vividly remember every detail that took place that night. How your tears burned into your red, inflamed cheeks. How the goosebumps ran throughout each nerve of your body, all hairs standing on edge as you anticipated what actions would take place next. You remembered the way the shiver crawled up your back when you made eye contact with those devilishly handsome cerulean eyes.
The eyes of a monster, as others may call it . Though you were terrified out of your very mind the thought of him being a monster never struck your thoughts. No, no, how could someone think that? After all that same ‘monster’ was the reason why you were still alive and well to this day.
__________
A small wistful sigh escaped your lips as you reminisced upon the memory that was clouding your head, putting you in a dazed, dreamy state. Hot breath escaped your parted lips, fanning against the pale, tender skin of the man you were currently resting upon.
“What’s up doll?” Your heart fluttered at the nickname, though you always expect to hear it from him when addressing you; it never failed to leave your body fluttering. (in more places than one)
“Mmm- Nothin’ jus’ thinkin’.” You slurred into his neck, nose nuzzling in deeper into the welcoming warmth that radiated from his figure. His body was currently being engulfed by you, which unbeknownst to you was making it hard for him to use the controls; though he didn’t mind.
Although he didn’t like to admit it, Tenko would do anything to spend more time with you, so if it meant almost losing his favorite game to have you sit in his lap you bet your ass he’s gonna lose that game a thousand times before he tells you to leave.
Your ears picked up the delicate sound of the many profanities that strung out of his mouth, you felt as his body flexed from underneath you, followed by a soft groan.
“D’ya lose again?” You cheekily asked, teasing the older male with your shit-eating grin. Though you meant to make him madder (in a jokingly-loving way) Tenkos face softened at the sight of you; in fact, he wasn’t even mad about losing any more. As long as Tenko had you in his arms, there was nothing to be upset about.
“Mph, shaddup.” You giggled in response, offering him a few pecks up his neck and jaw before leaning in to reward his hard work with a nice chaste kiss, which Tenko gladly received.
Shortly after you fell into a light slumber upon Tenkos chest. (which he secretly was ecstatic about, but would never admit) His gaze, soft as ever, stared down at your figure in a scared and fragile way.
He wanted to run his fingers through your hair, massage your tensed muscles and draw little imaginary things on your back, such as flowers or dinosaurs. However, the thought was pushed away as the clouding depression came back at the memory of his quirk.
He didn’t want to hurt you. He didn’t want to lose you like his mother.
Although he did wear his custom-made 2-fingered gloves he always felt a sense of guilt when touching you. It was almost as if he was preparing himself for a life of hate and grief once the last digit of his god-forsaken fingers touched your beautiful skin.
He fought internally with himself for what could have been hours before he watched as you slowly woke up. The small scrunch that was displayed on your face pulled at his heartstrings as you yawned, regaining consciousness after your little ‘cat nap’.
Although when your half-asleep dazed eyes fixated on his you noticed something was wrong, on top of that his game was still running yet he was focused on you.
“Are you okay shiggs’?” You watched as the emotion built up behind his eyes. At first, you were confused. (Tenkos usual emotions and thought process consisted of rage, game, sleep, fuck)
“If I ever hurt you, would you forgive me?”
Oh.
Oh.
You flicked your painted black fingernail against the exposed part of his forehead.
“You idiot, why worry about that? It doesn’t matter how much you hurt me, you know I’ll always love ya.” You smiled, fingers caressing his cheeks.(making a note to have a spa session with him later) “Unless you decide to leave me or sum’ shit, then I’d wreck ya ass.”
“And I’d give you full permission.” Tenko giggled, now wrapping his arms around your back, a hand caressing the bass of your neck, careful to lift his pinky and ring finger as an extra precaution.
After a bit of doting upon each other Tenko decided he wanted to teach you how to play his game. You happily agreed, shifting around on his lap to face his PC ads he explained to you the controls and what they did.
“Oh and there's different characters, which one do you wanna be?” He happily sang, going through the list of characters that he owned.
“Hmmm, who’s your fav, shiggs?”
“Oh! This one!” Tenko spoke with excitement, a small smile working over his facial scars. His serotonin was definitely shooting through the roof at the thought of you enjoying his games. “His name is Razor, isn’t he so badass!”
You looked at the character in detail, his physique definitely fit Tenkos taste; white ragged hair, eye-bags, deep red eyes. You let a soft giggle out at the resemblance, blessing Tenko’s ears in the process.
“He looks so badass! Can I use him?”
“Yes of course! Now we gotta pick three more to build your party.” He smiled, once again going through the character list.
Tenko watched as your eyes scanned through the characters, taking you time to read the descriptions of the 2D being. Naturally, the characters you picked were ones that Tenko enjoyed as well. His eyes scanned over your newly built party; Razor, Zhongli, Fischl, and QiQi.
“Isn’t this fish girl sooo sexy!”
“Not as sexy as you, doll.”
“Okay, well then she’s definitely sexier than you.” You rolled your eyes, teasing his ego.
Teasing Tenko was one of your favorite personal hobbies. You loved watching Tenkos physical and mental state go to mush as you hopelessly teased the living hell out of him, and to your delight, this side of Tenko was beginning to unfold in front of you.
A smirk was placed upon your lips and you soaked in the temper tantrum the grown man was having in front of you.
You were thrown a series of meaningless insults (if you could even call them that) such as “You're not even that pretty, Fischl is way more appealing.” or “I bet you’d be a shitty character, Fischl could totally beat you”
Ahhh yes, small meaningless ‘insults’. You continued to watch as the man flustered himself, even more, stuttering as he tried to figure out about comeback to your ‘enraging comment’
“Ya done yet?”
“Fuck you.”
“Love ya too shiggs”

okay but the open character and fragile scary looking character dynamic fully pulled me in and got me really invested in your ocs, are u thinking about ever releasing content based on them? totally understand if u arent, i would just love to see more of them!
omg i took down that post about them a second before i saw this bc i got embarrassed about being earnest...... the mortifying ordeal of being passionate..... but! searching back on my blog it looks like i’ve posted two snippets of them before. which honestly go pretty well together in terms of Capturing Relationship. so!
i present Fragile Scary Person and Loving Kind Person Who Is The Only Thing Keeping Fragile Scary Person Together And Not Coping Well With It

“Because I’ll kill you,” Sol said. She said it the same way she might say, Operating expenses increased by ten percent last year. Not invested, not emotional. Just relaying a fact across a conference table.
Ruby’s mouth quirked, as if the situation amused her. “I’m not sure whether that’s a warning or a threat.”
Sol held herself still, shoulders back, hands relaxed, chin up. That was the only way to avoid clawing for Ruby’s throat. “It’s neither.”
The amused gleam disappeared from behind Ruby’s eyes. “Don’t shut down, Sol,” she said, and this was stern, an implacable command. “You don’t do that. Not with me.”
&
Sol had come here, because Ruby loved everything inside these walls, and as long as Sol remained, she too would be caught up in the spell. Sol had come here, because she needed to be Ruby’s instead of Ruby offering hollow physical comfort and the right words in Sol’s perfectly supportive bed. Instead of Ruby being one more meaningless transaction in an existence built on them.
“Okay,” Ruby said. “Come lay down with me.”
Sol followed her to the bedroom. Ruby’s bed was also made of things she loved. Tattered quilts and pillows decades old, newer and softer blankets, gifted sheets, embroidered pillowcases that were their own art pieces. None of it matched, and most of it was hideous, but Ruby loved it all, so here it was.
Sol took off her shoes and laid down. Rather than joining her immediately, Ruby sat in front of her mirror and pulled the pins out of her hair. There were dozens holding the complex braided updo in place, and so removing them was a lengthy process. Almost ritualistic, artistic. Like building a painting, or wiping a canvas clean.
Here, a braid escaped; here, a section of knotwork collapsed; here, a coil sprung free; here, more and more strands fell like an untamed river down her back. It was a transformation from pretty and professional to untamed and magical. Sol wanted to run her fingers through it the same way she’d wanted to touch the shining, impossible hair of the heroines in her mother’s fairy tales. Memories of nights around a fire were close to the surface, now, but what was one more dull scrape against a nervous system already flayed?
“I would have done it,” Ruby said quietly. She met Sol’s eyes in the mirror.
“What?”
“The channeling. You should have asked me to do it.”
Ruby didn’t even know what they’d done it for. Either she’d decided the reason must be good (desperately needed to believe the reason must be good), or she’d decided they’d have done it whether she approved or not. The latter was unequivocally true; the former depended on where you stood.
“I wouldn’t have,” Sol said.
“Yes,” Ruby replied, impatient, “clearly you wouldn’t have, seeing as you didn’t. But you should have.”
“No, I shouldn’t.”
“I can weather this kind of thing, Sol. I do it every day. You, though…”
Ruby paused, swiveling her chair to look at Sol straight on, like she’d just remembered Sol was in a vulnerable state. The backlight from the mirror shadowed her features, created a scarlet halo through her hair.
“Go on,” Sol said. “I can take it.”
Ruby stayed where she was, appraising Sol like she was sizing up a new client. “You’re made of ice. You crack once, you shatter.”

One obvious for the ask game. The main protagonist; Naruto Uzumaki and Izuku Midoriya.
@shiryusamarkanda it’s so nice to hear from you again! <3
I totally didn’t forget to post this and had it fully finished in my drafts for days...totally.
Naruto
What I love about them:
Naruto's a bratty kid who’s not afraid to speak up and challenge something he thinks is "wrong". This, of course, is part 1 Naruto. I actually like when he's a bit insensitive without being explicitly malicious bc its very fitting for his background/how he grew up but also gives him a clear path forward as he learns how to work as a team/starts to grow. It wasn’t exactly a smart move, but I really liked how he continued to challenge Zabuza in the Wave Arc saying “he’s still my enemy” after Kakashi told him to back off. This is all good and strong characterization that, to me, was more often endearing than it wasn’t. Naruto had goals and a purpose and in early Naruto that was still clear.
What I hate about them:
Part 2 (Shippuden) Naruto. There’s a lot that goes into this but the core deviation is getting away from the underdog story. In Shippuden Naruto is the son of the 4th, the Child of Prophecy, a reincarnation of the Sage of Six Path’s kid, makes friends with Kurama, and has the most OP power of the them all: Talk no Jutsu. What makes all of this even worse is Naruto went from a loveable bratty kid to an insufferable messiah figure. To be “perfect” his natural personality is shorn down until he’s only allowed occasional “stupid” mistakes rather than mistakes that emerge from his characterization. This also makes his ideological “wins” with villains...completely meaningless. Shippuden Naruto doesn’t really...have beliefs. He wants to be hokage and bring Sasuke back to the village. “Being hokage” was fine as a kid but I expected the progression into shippuden to be “what kind of hokage do I want to be?” This seemed natural bc we get in the Wave arc Naruto pushing against “what a shinobi is supposed to be: a tool” from Haku and declaring he’d make his own ninja way. Flashforward to the chunin arcs: hates Orochimaru for messing with Sasuke (esp when he eventually leaves to join him) and Neji for treating Hinata the way he did until he learned more about the Hyuga before declaring it wasn’t fair and you had to fight against fate and destiny. Tsunade’s arc was more about reemphasizing the village was something worth protecting and the Sasuke retrieval arc, while focused on Sasuke, at least kept up this theme. But these moments of growth are only alluded to in shippuden and by the time the war arc and ending come around...nothing changes. Naruto didn’t upset the status quo, he only maintained it. And once that ending was established it was a lot easier to go back and pick out exactly when his characterization started to fall through and the weird messiah figure took over instead. Part of this, imo, is the focus of his ultimate goal being “bring Sasuke back to the village” rather than understand what Sasuke is doing/why he’s doing it and then deciding to help him or stop him.
Favorite Moment/Quote:
“You’re cute when you’re chubby” [in reference to the frog purse]
I really love the quiet moments Naruto has and watching him live out his daily life. The frog purse is absolutely adorable and I love seeing it crop up time and time again. A close second is when Gai kicks Jiraiya in the face and, a short time later, offers Naruto the green tracksuit which he’s appreciative of.
What I would like to see more focus on:
In Part 2 Naruto having a long-term goal alongside bringing Sasuke back to the village or trying to seriously think about why Sasuke does what he does and how that would potentially affect the plot. If I could go back to the very start, keeping the actual heart and intent of an underdog ninja story rather than everything turning into superpowered mecha/kaiju battles and aliens from space this is the big point that I’d want to address. In general, I really like fics that focus on training and give him a range of jutsu besides spamming shadow clones and rasengan variants. I’ve said this before, but if Naruto really wants to keep the “number 1 unpredictable ninja” moniker, learning a variety of small, diverse jutsu and using them in interesting/creative ways would be the way to go rather than spamming the aforementioned two. I also really like fics that buckle down and just go ham and create their own variety of jutsu, especially if it’s small practical jutsu rather than the latest and greatest OP Power #839281 kind of jutsu.
What I would like to see less focus on:
The messiah figure. Talk no Jutsu. The obsession with having a morally pure hero in a world that routinely employed child soldiers and put them in war. I understand Naruto was a shonen manga first and foremost but like...this was the setting/world Kishimoto decided on having. However, I will say some fics take it to far on the other extreme for my taste, creating a edgy nihilistic Naruto that hates everyone and everything.
Favorite pairing with:
Uhh...I don’t actually have a strong feeling for this one LOL. The most I’ve read has been SasuNaru (Sasuke x Naruto) because I’ve found really interesting set-ups. I like the ship and it does have a decent amount of backing in canon but it’s the little moments (or my ability to see possible little moments) that really make or break a ship for me. SasuNaru is all Big Declarations and I struggle to see how they’d actually settle down post Shippuden time into something sustainable. My favorite iterations of the ship is focused when they’re genin age and have a better relationship...but then I recognize that this is getting closer and closer to Hashimada. The other big things I run into with shipping Naruto with Sasuke is 1. Sasuke needs a shit ton of therapy/willingness to process his family related trauma and 2. Naruto needs a good support network/family outside of a romantic partner because it personally makes me uncomfortable to read ‘you’re my one and only’ (here being: I have no other friends, family, loved ones outside of you). It’s a ship that can work but it’s not my personal OTP.
Favorite friendship:
Canon/OoT - Naruto & Sakura
I do have a softspot for fics where Naruto realizes his crush on Sakura is actually a desire to have friends/someone to care about him and then they do become close. In canon Sasuke was clearly the favorite of Kakashi (if chunin arc is kept the same/similar and he takes him away for the month to train) I really like Naruto and Sakura sticking together and trying to help each other. They’re both loud and can wind each other up but Naruto can help Sakura relax a bit from her rigid view of herself and she can help keep him on track/encourage him.
NOTP:
Again, no real strong opinions here. Probably harems? I remember seeing a lot of those a couple years ago and I fundamentally dislike the harem so it will never be ‘done well’ to my personal taste.
Favorite headcanon:
Naruto is smart, he just needs things to be explained in a way he can understand.
I’m not a fan of ‘he’s the smartest person in the entire world’ trope but Naruto is creative, he created the oiroke jutsu before he graduated to genin and has a lot of stubborn determination. He’s just really bad at typical ‘book learning’ and traditional testing and he’s not a genius/prodigy like Sasuke or Neji.
.
.
Read line for BNHA manga spoilers
Izuku
What I love about them:
He’s such a smart kid and while he’s unsure/insecure about himself he still does his best. Honestly the premise of BNHA is amazing and I was so excited to watch this little quirky (heh) boy do his best and outthink heroes, utilizing his intelligence and knowledge of quirks. I really love early Izuku and how he has to approach situations from a different angle bc he grew up quirkless/can’t properly handle OFA. The sports festival arc remains one of my personal favorites and really showed his ingenuity. I also really love that Izuku is openly emotional, he cries, he gets super happy about things, he’s angry, he’s sad, etc.
What I hate about them:
Why do stories insist on calling themselves “underdogs” when for a majority of the time, they’re not? Or not as much as they would be from the original premise? Look, TDP came about exactly bc BNHA was billed as ‘quirkless boy becomes number 1 hero’ it changed rapidly into ‘Izuku gets the strongest quirk but can’t control it’ and while I was...disappointed with that, it happened so quickly I wasn’t really upset. Fast forward to apparently OFA has...what seven(?) quirks inside it and I just...it’s frustrating. Even more the longer we go the more Izuku strays away from a character that is forced to use his intelligence and creatively outthink his opponents and instead becomes...I just have to hit him harder! The Muscular fight already inched towards this but the Overhaul fight just felt like Super Shonen Smack-down 728329. Which, isn’t an inherent problem, it just doesn’t match up to the expectations I had about BNHA I had at the start and how I hoped the series would go. For a character trait that I hate: Izuku is stupidly self-sacrificing. It makes sense with his character but he shoots beyond what is safe and reasonable and I wish there would be more internal emphasis on the question “is it better to save one person today if it meant I couldn’t save ten people tomorrow?” I think he’d choose the former or forsake the question altogether (we touched briefly on this during the overhaul arc with Eri) but I think it’s a serious question needs to be touched on (or I just need to go back and rewatch things again LOL)
Favorite Moment/Quote:
See entire sports festival arc. I don’t really have a favorite moment because I love the entire arc and we get so much out of it.
What I would like to see more focus on:
Quirkless Izuku. There’s already a lot of fics, but I really do love them. It deviates a bit, but I do like the creativity of giving Izuku his own unique quirk and then exploring what he can do with that/how it changes canon. Really I want Izuku to keep his original characterization and not trade his smarts for more punching power or deus ex machinas for quirks hidden inside of OFA. If OFA!Izuku is kept, I like story ideas where he still has to rely on means outside of his quirk. Preferably this is isn’t because he injuries himself so much, but I like toying with the idea that Izuku never gets OFA to All Might’s level so he really does have to make the quirk his own and still rely heavily on his intelligence and quirk journals to become the number 1.
What I would like to see less focus on:
Quirks hidden inside OFA. Strength should have been enough, it was already billed as the most powerful quirk of all. I know this is a common theme for shonen stories, and I don’t mean to harp specifically on Izuku, but again the premise of BNHA was an underdog story.
Favorite pairing with:
Tododeku (Todoroki Shouto x Midoriya Izuku)
Friends to lover and battle couples lads, I am weak to them. I like the contrast between their personalities as well as origins (Shouto being the number 2′s (now 1) kid and Izuku from a quiet civilian background). At the end of the sports festival arc both of them are extremely well characterized and it’s easy for me to imagine how their relationship progresses from there and how they can support each other and help each other grow. It’s a very sweet and wholesome ship the way I write and read it and it’s v cute.
Favorite friendship:
Canon- Midoriya Izuku & Uraraka Ochaco & Iida Tenya
I really like the core trio and think their interactions are really sweet. They balance each other out well and their friendship was immediately believable to me. I also like later when Tsuyu and Shouto start to get included in the group and out of the “main” core friends I’m endlessly entertained whenever Izuku and Tokoyami interact with one another. (This is also because I love my bird son, but you know.)
TDP - Midoriya Izuku & Ashido Mina or Midoriya Izuku & Hatsume Mei
Really, I love all of TDP’s kiddos interactions. Their chemistry is one of my favorite things about the fic and all the villain school kiddos meshed really well and had hilarious interactions. Mina and Mei are my faves but just barely. Mina came out of left field for the fic but she plays a similar role that Ochaco does in canon as a usual source of positivity (but unlike Ochaco with additional chaos). She’s Izuku’s first real friend even before starting HIVVE and wouldn’t hesitate to call Izuku her cousin as she views him as family. In return, Mina’s someone Izuku can completely count and depend on if necessary. Mei is...Mei. Izuku is her best “useful customer” and it’s actually terrifying how similar their thoughts are, just Mei has an (un)healthy dose of Hazmat’s insanity and her own business acumen added into the mix. They have slightly different fields of interest but are intellectual equals that work well together and that’s something new to both of them.
NOTP:
Bakudeku (Bakugo Katsuki x Midoriya Izuku)
It’s unhealthy. Unless it’s an AU that changes what the start of their relationship is like, Bakugo and Izuku will always have a toxic friendship to me and I can’t ever see them in a healthy relationship. Both of them have a lot to learn and I am of the opinion that Bakugo should get the opportunity to grow and become a good person and leave behind his past as a bully. However, I’m also of the opinion that no matter how good of a person a bully becomes their victim is never required to absolve them of past wrongdoings. Izuku and Bakugo were friends once, their relationship turned toxic, and now it’s in the interest of both of them to grow apart from one another. I even hesitate to really say they’ll be friends again because the early characterization of their relationship was so imbalanced to me, but for the right author and the right work I may see them being on good terms. It’s still a romantic relationship that I dislike.
Favorite headcanon:
Crack headcanon? Izuku does have a natural quirk, the force of his tears is clearly superpowered 😂 Regular headcanon, (that is canon in TDP and kindaaa in regular canon(?)) when Izuku gets really engrossed in a super stressful fight he focuses on what will work rather than what is moral. It has...mixed results.
.

I really love Dabi, he’s one of my most favourite characters, even though I can’t explain rationally why I like him.
But the more I learn about him, the more I start to feel  ... disgust.
You know, like when you still love a character, but you strongly disapprove of him. %)
I’ll try to explain my point under the cut (bcos spoilers).
While Dabi’s point is absolutely valid - he exposes the meaningless cruelty of his own dad and the corruption of the hero society in general - the way he does this is very dirty. And that’s probably also his dad’s fault.
Imo, the worst thing about Endeavor is his absolute selfishness and disrespect towards other people (at least he used to be like this for a long time). He was always eager to use everything, and everyone he required to achieve his goals. Like, “I want this person, gimme them right now, they can be handy for creating an improved version of my fire quirk”, and then married Rei.
“What a “reap what you sow” moment.” (c)
Touya/Dabi is exactly like this, too. He is a complete maniac, driven by his hate towards dad, and he totally ignores other people, their needs, their feelings, and even their lives. Dabi makes use of everyone, be it enemies, comrades or random strangers.
And if Dabi foresaw Twice’s (or any other villain’s) death by Hawks’s hands, and planned to use it right from the start... It’s beyond nasty.
While Endeavor seems to slowly change, learn to respect others and take their feelings into consideration, Touya/Dabi is stuck at the “selfish and cruel motherfucker” stage forever. He resembles his dad too much, but seems to be smarter, while (maybe bcos traumatized) doesn’t change at all. Dabi doesn’t seem to care about LoV members, not to mention PLF members whom he never cared for from the start. It doesn’t look like he cares about his brothers’ and sister’s feelings either. I don’t know about Fuyumi, but Dabi/Touya’s reveal must be very traumatizing for Natsuo...
Did Touya even love his siblings in the past? Who knows. What if he used to be very selfish since childhood?.. Yes, he did suffered, but did he actually think that his siblings weren’t exactly the happiest kids too?
And it’s still not quite clear what happened to Touya when he “died”. I don’t even want to think about this, but what if he faked his death himself, planning to become a villain while he was still a child? Idk, and it scares me.
I think I will never stop loving Dabi, but I’m losing my respect towards him, and that’s sad. I do not want him to be an “Endeavor, but at his worst”. I want him to think for himself and to see the real world around him, not the nightmares from his past. =_=

Newest theory of the day. Shigaraki after finding out he can't steal OFA from Deku tries to dust him, the decay spreads across his arm and to keep Deku alive because his specific order from Endeavor was to protect him~ Bakugo severs his arm with an AP shot, because some of us are still on about Deku losing an arm in this arc. Then we can get from mentoring from Miruko, you know bunny themes, using your legs, and now how to be a hero with prosthetics.
Tumblr media
anon I disagree with basically all of this, but I just want to be clear that it’s in a totally respectful “that’s just not how I see things going/where I’d prefer the story to go” way, and it’s more just a matter of my personal preferences than anything else! like, I’m about to break down every specific thing I disagree with, but I hope it doesn’t come off in an attacking way. I kind of feel like I’ve been shooting down pretty much every theory people have thrown at me lately, and I don’t mean to be a buzzkill about it or anything. but since you did send me an ask about it I’m assuming it’s all right to give my opinion. lol I’m probably overthinking this. anyways.
1. so first, I personally don’t think Deku is going to lose his arm, at least not in this arc. I just can’t see any kind of purpose for it. particularly since Deku has already injured his arm very badly in the past and has already gone through the associated angst, and had an arc of learning how to fight without it (for the most part) and learning to fight with his legs instead. I just don’t see this bringing anything really new to the table. and Mirko and Hawks already have the “working to recover from/adapt to disabling injuries” thing covered between the two of them, I think. I also am not a believer in the foreshadowing power of popularity poll covers, at least to the extent of using them as a basis for theories. I know this last part is an unpopular opinion lol.
that all being said, I do think he might lose the arm maybe towards the end of the series, but if it happens it would be from overuse of OFA. and it’s still not something I actually think should happen or think we need to see; Deku is someone who’s already struggled in the past with being differently abled from his peers due to being quirkless, so I’d rather see a different character go through this arc if it does happen. and I’ll also add that I’d be more interested in seeing Ectoplasm mentoring a student in regards to the prosthetic thing; no disrespect to Mirko, but he’s been dealing with it for a lot longer, and would probably have more insight to share.
2. Katsuki saving Deku at some point on the other hand has been foreshadowed, but if he does it won’t JUST be because he was ordered to watch his back. I don’t know if you were necessarily implying this; probably it was just the wording, but regardless, I wanted to throw that out there.
3. you’ve probably figured out my opinion on this already lol but I do think we’re more than likely heading for quirkless Bakugou.
4. Bakugou hasn’t experienced a so-called trauma in a long time, and also I think fandom has a tendency to exaggerate the number of traumas he actually has (and here we get into another unpopular opinion, but hey). canon!Bakugou is a very different beast from fanon!Bakugou, and I think there’s a tendency to conflate the two. canon!Bakugou, from what we’ve seen, does not have any lingering trauma from the sludge monster attack, being chained up at the sports festival, or even from being kidnapped (aside from the “blaming himself for All Might’s end” part of it). canon!Bakugou’s confirmed sources of angst are 1) him feeling guilty over All Might, 2) him feeling pressure to prove to the world that he’s not a villain, 3) and him not wanting to ever lose to Deku. that’s basically it. I know fandom likes to throw all sorts of other stuff in there (PTSD, child abuse, his quirk being toxic to him; you name it), but he’s really not like that in the canon at all.
he definitely has been through a lot, don’t get me wrong. and also I should add that just because I don’t think these things are canon doesn’t mean I’m not interested in exploring them in headcanons or fanfic. on the contrary, I have a fanfic rec list consisting almost entirely of Bakuangst for a reason lol. but the suggestion (not necessarily made by you, but other people have brought this up) that he shouldn’t lose his quirk because it’s “yet more Bakugou angst” or whatever is just something I don’t agree with for a lot of reasons.
here’s a spontaneous list which nobody asked for of all of the other characters who have experienced trauma since the last time Bakugou last went through anything of note.
Aizawa - had his childhood trauma revealed to the audience in a Vigilantes flashback, and subsequently went through the angst of realizing his dead friend had been brought back to life and brainwashed into becoming a villain. also recently watched a man die saving his life.
Present Mic - same as Aizawa minus the “someone died for him recently” stuff. also has to carry Ujiko around everywhere right now which I sure would find traumatizing.
All Might - had his “you are going to die horribly” prophecy revealed. watched his former sidekick die and was helpless to do anything. struggled with the guilt of having not reconnected with him sooner. grappled with trying to figure out how he can help people now that he no longer has OFA.
Ochako - struggled with survivor’s guilt over not being able to save Nighteye.
Kirishima - had his past revealed in a flashback and was shown to have depression and self-worth issues. struggled with those same issues during the Basement arc and was also horrifically injured. most recent response to being asked whether he was okay afterwards was “I’m getting there/working on it.”
Shouto - watched his dad come within an inch of being murdered on live television. is still struggling with reconciling his very complicated feelings about his father and his past actions vs the man he is trying to become now.
Tokoyami - saved his mentor’s life at great risk to his own; was nearly burnt alive; was told that he shouldn’t save Hawks because he killed someone (my poor baby bird is going to have a lot to work through after this arc).
Kaminari - had to overcome his fear of fighting on the front lines in a very real and potentially deadly battle.
Iida - yoinked part of his own leg out to get stronger wtf.
Mirio - lost his quirk; watched his mentor die.
Tamaki - was and is still grappling with severe anxiety. was nearly killed during the basement arc. dealt with boyfriend losing his quirk.
Endeavor - had his goal finally realized in the most hollow, meaningless way possible. realized he’d basically acted like a complete monster in regards to his family for the past two decades. came to terms with the fact that nothing he can do now will ever make up for it (although he is still doing his best to make amends and atone however he can). nearly lost an eye and had his face scarred pretty badly. also has a dead son who secretly isn’t dead so that’s fun.
Mirko - lost an arm and a leg and came within an inch of death and Endeavor had to cauterize her wounds on the spot.
Hawks - ahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Deku - learned about the All Might death prophecy. grappled with feeling like he wasn’t worthy enough to inherit OFA. dealt with the angst of not being able to save Eri sooner. watched Nighteye die. had a secret fight with a villain while worrying about the school finding out and also feeling conflicted the whole time because he empathized with said villain a lot. had his quirk suddenly flare out of control during an exercise and nearly killed everyone around him and subsequently learned that he’s getting a bunch of new quirks and has to learn how to control them all. was informed that all of the past users of OFA have died young. and last but not least, has now learned that Shigaraki Tomura is specifically targeting him and his quirk.
anyways that’s not even complete because I skipped a ton of other characters, but you get the idea. basically the “Kacchan has already had a lot of trauma” argument falls flat to me as a reason why he shouldn’t have anything else happen to him. if anything, looking at everything that’s happened to him recently in comparison to the other characters makes me wonder if he’s not overdue. Kamino was almost two hundred chapters ago. Ground Beta was a hundred and sixty chapters. there has not being anything else since. this is one of the reasons why I want there to finally be something else. I don’t get this idea that we’re done with him now or whatever. not that I’m being all “yes!!! more tragedy for Kacchan!!!”, but this is a story, and characters grow in stories by facing and overcoming obstacles. so let’s give him a new obstacle already. (and I do mean a new one, which is another reason why I’m not sold on the “has to blast off Deku’s arm” angst; him feeling guilty and blaming himself for something that wasn’t his fault is the exact kind of angst we’ve already explored with him, and which we don’t necessarily need to rehash just with minor adjustments.)
Deku has already struggled with his own physical limitations. Kacchan never has. he’s been frustrated with the pace of his growth, sure, but that was more or less just comparing-myself-to-Deku angst disguised as thinking-I’m-weak angst. which is something he’s still doing even now, by the way. he was literally doing it a couple of chapters ago. Ground Beta didn’t fix it; it gave him something new to work towards, yes, and a new perspective regarding his relationship with Deku being something he could use to grow stronger. but it never actually addressed the root of the angst to begin with, which is him only seeing himself as worthy if he’s above Deku. it never addressed the issue of him being so fearful of being “weak” to begin with. he’s so determined to prove that he’s not, because even now he’s still secretly afraid that he is. and this is something I very strongly believe that he needs to confront, one way or the other.
but anyway, this turned into yet another “reasons why I think Bakugou should lose his quirk” meta, which I didn’t intend it to, so I apologize. this pretty much veered way off track so I should probably wrap it up. again, I apologize if any of this comes off as needlessly blunt, as that’s not the intent. and we’re all reading the story in slightly different ways, and we all have different things we want to see explored, and I’m sure as heck not going to say someone else’s view on this isn’t valid! this is just my own personal take. but we’ll see what happens, and I’m going to be wholeheartedly along for the ride pretty much no matter how this turns out.

They overhear their crush praising them.
Headcannons
Characters: Midoriya, Bakugou, kirishima.
Midoriya:
The poor boy was just trying to get some water from the kitchen. He never expected to hear what he did.
As soon as he heard how you were praising and admiring him, he almost exploded from the heat that rushed to his face.
There was practically steam coming off his head.
You were sat on the couch with Momo, Jirou, and mina. You had been talking about the training you had done in classes today, when you suddenly involved him in the conversation. Talking about how well he did today.
"Did you see that new move Midoriya used today! It was so amazing!"
"He's always working so hard, it's really admirable!"
"Did you see his concentration face?! So cute!"
"He makes me want to try even harder to become a great hero!"
Midoriya was practically shaking with happiness. He had to place a hand over his mouth to stop himself from making a sound and giving away his position.
He didn't mean to eavesdrop but he was sure glad he did.
If you think he isn't about to cry, you're wrong. Tears are almost spilling from his eyes.
Not only did you words mean a lot, but coming from you. It was all the more special to him.
It was too bad you stopped when mina began to tease you and you turned into a similar shade of red he currently was.
You made his whole Damn week.
He will be too shy to say he heard you but you knew something was different with how much he begins to stare at you with a big goofy smile and loving eyes.
He seems to hover around you more from then on.
He starts to give you many more compliments in hopes he can make you as happy as you made him.
Now all he had to do was get enough courage to confess his true feelings for you.
Too bad that's easier said than done.
Bakugou:
It was at the sports festival, after his fight with Uraraka. Everyone had seemed to disagree with his fighting methods. Calling him a villain.
Not that he really cared but it still wasn't the best feeling in the world.
He was just wandering around the halls, making his way back to his seat. when he heard your voice echo through the halls.
Curiosity got the best of him and he listened in. It seemed you were talking to raccoon eyes.
"I know it probably wasn't the best method out there but I still can't help but admire him."
Mina totally gave you a look of disbelief. "You're kidding right? He almost killed her."
You sighed. "I know it sounds crazy but I don't think what he did was villainous. I mean, he acknowlaged that she was a worthy opponent and gave her a chance. I think that says a lot coming from someone like him. He didnt deserve to be called a villian thats for sure!"
"He works harder than anyone else at this school to become a hero!"
"I know it's hard to see behind the violent exterior but he does have the heart of a hero."
"He's god awful with words but sometimes, his actions speak so much louder than words ever could. And that's what counts."
"I think he'll be a great hero."
He stood in disbelief for a few moments, but it didn't take long for a cocky smirk to reach his lips.
You two did bicker a lot. Nothing serious, only meaningless insults and snarky comebacks. But that's just how you two were. You liked pressing each other's buttons.
So hearing you say stuff like that really fuelled his ego.
He will never admit to it but, his heart really did speed up little knowing you felt that way.
You see right through him.
He both hated and loved it.
He walked alound the corner once Mina had walked off.
Both hands shoved deep in his pockets.
"I didn't know you felt that way about me." He got you attention in the most teasing and cocky tone you had ever heard.
You practically fainted from embarrassment.
He had to take you to recovery girl.
"Tch! Dumbass!"
Kirishima:
You were sitting at lunch with the rest of the baku-squad when he walked up behind you. You hadn t noticed his presence but the rest of them had and oh boy were they entertained.
You were in the midst of saying how cool you thought his quirk was. Then you went on to say how sweet and kind he was. Even going as far to refer to him as "a ray of sunshine."
In all honesty he was suprised you hadn't realized what was going on. Sero kaminari and Mina were practically dying from laughter.
It only got louder when they saw how red kirishima cheeks had gotten.
They weren't about to stop you though and you ended up going on for another 5 minutes.
"I feel so lucky to know someone as kind as him. Not to mention how cool he is!"
"Did you guys see him take down all those targets without even breaking a sweat!?"
"I swear his smile is contagious!"
"He's so strong too!"
Of course they nodded along but the laughter didn't stop.
As much as he wanted to hear more about what you thought of him he also wanted to spare you any further embarasment
He tapped your shoulder and you stopped your rambling.
When you turned all colour drained from your face. Well appart from your cheeks of course
"K-k-kiri- d-did you hear-?"
When he chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck you wanted to sink into the floor.
Though, I could be worse. At least he didn't seem like he was about to tease you for what you had said.
"Maybe we should go somewhere else to eat..." He muttered as he stared at the three friends who were practically on the floor from laughter.
You couldn't agree more. You both spent lunch together, alone.
And thank God this precious boy didn't bring it back up.
The only thing he said afterwards was-
"Thanks for saying that stuff about me."
"For the record, I feel lucky to know someone like you too."
He sent a toothy grin your way.
It only made you more red but hey at least you guys matched!
This man would be the death of you

ana reads bnha ch5
previous chapter here first chapter here next chapter here
Tumblr media
I have a lot of questions. First of all, what did the others do to get rescue points (and how did Bakugou not get any when it looks like everyone else did whether they were trying to or not? Could you get them deducted in some way if you were reckless?). And, like, we know that Shinsou didn’t pass this exam because his quirk only works on humans. But, tell me, what did Koda do to pass this exam? I know he could have commanded animals in, but it was a simulated cityscape. Where are the animals? What could his quirk have done? And what did Hagakure do? She wouldn’t be any better than Midoriya at taking down robots. Anyone have a hypothesis?
Tumblr media
I think about this couple on the beach a lot. After the fight against AFO, do they remember this moment? How many other people are there who saw All Might in moments like this and were confused at the time and then remember the event after All Might’s true form is revealed?
Tumblr media
Okay, how freaking interesting is it that Izuku puts Iida—a near stranger who scared him a bit once—and Bakugou—his tormentor for the past 10+ years who is one of the most omnipresent, er, presences in his life? What does this say about how Izuku thinks of people? About how many people he’s seen join Bakugou’s side after only knowing either of them for a short while? About him expecting people who torment him to never stop? Very interesting.
Also, 18 students????? EIGHTEEN??????? 18 = 20?? Ah, this question is answered by Horikoshi later
Tumblr media
Short rant: This is my freaking least favorite thing about writing. “705.2m.” How did he come up with that number? Did he actually do any calculations? Or did he just pull it out of his ass? Anything that I have to totally make up, even in original fiction, freaks me out. I hate coming up with names for OCs or even meaningless crap like room numbers. So, instead, I spend hours looking up horoscopes to decide character birthdays (even though I don’t believe in astrology, irl), hours on babynames.com to give characters names with meaning, and I perform authorial gymnastics in order to avoid giving names, numbers, etc. to things that I don’t want to make up. Am I crazy? Am I the only one who doesn’t like coming up with this +/- arbitrary stuff?
Tumblr media
Okay, Aizawa is my second fave character. And my theory is that Aizawa’s a dummy who thinks every year he won’t get attached to his students but then he does. I‘m assuming most of his expulsions happen at the beginning of the year. Because he loves 1-A so much later. Would he actually have expelled them after OFA if he hadn’t been thinking about PR and stuff? I don’t think so. But maybe I’m projecting fuzzy feelings onto him. That is my main move, after all.
Tumblr media
Overall: My friend (Babs, I pray you never find this blog so you never have to know what you’ve done) who got me into this show (honestly, still deciding if that was a gift or a curse) says that she loved Aizawa from the beginning. But I, honestly, had no thoughts about him in these early episodes. I didn’t begin to love him until quite later on. Did anyone love him right from the start here?
All Might comes off kind of flippant in these early chapters with how he treats Izuku. Like saving eating the hair until the last minute, not warning him more about what would happen to his body, the playful nonchalance while Izuku’s working his butt off on the beach. We know that he’s not super emotionally attached to Izuku at the beginning, compared to how much he loves the boy later, but I wonder if that’s intentional. I don’t think All Might is generally as flippant as he behaves towards Izuku in this first year together, so do we think that his behavior here is an act? An intentional attempt to keep Izuku at a distance and not fall in love with him, because he knows that what Izuku will go through will be painful and that he, himself, will die too early? That’s my theory.
Also, Iida’s eyebrows are so freaking weird to me???

Fanfic meme (or my opinions about some fanfic tropes)
Thanks to @flo-nelja, I lost like one hour and half to do this post, you know my weakness for long ass meme. ❤️ on you, it was pretty entertaining.
So...let’s go
1. Slowburn or Love at First Sight: I’m never satisfied with the slow burn I read (or write, for what it's worth). Theorically I prefer slow burn, but it’s never slow enough, or BURN enough. I mean, for me, the slow burn involves some pining/longing, like they are accointances, then friends, then PINING/LONGING happens, then lovers. Probably the reason I love one sided love, because the feelings have time to grow, there is the pining/longing, with a pinch of angst ?
aNyWaY I love a Love at first sight too, I don’t like it in rom-com, because it’s often without any background, but in fanfic, when you know the characters, you have implicitely the background, so it feels like fate they will be together, because you went to read this fic for your OTP, so it feels right they fall in love at first sight, because you know they are good together (even if they don’t know it yet in the fanfiction). Again, it’s the reason I love soulmate au.
Tumblr media
2. Fake Dating or Secretly Dating: It’s the last one I answered because it needs lof of thinking. Fake or secretly dating ? Hmmmm. I’m not often interested by the “dating” part, and more in the “feelings realization” and all the “confession part”. So Fake dating, I guess ? Like, they start dating and fall in love after ? And it can be funny, like quiproquo and clumsiness ?
Tumblr media
3. Enemies to Lovers or Best Friends to Lovers: love shipping rivals and antagonistic relationships
4. “Oh no, there’s Only One Bed” or Long Distance Correspondence: I’m a pure victorian bitch
5. Hurt/Comfort or Amnesia
6. Fantasy AU or Modern AU
7. Mutual Pining or Domestic Bliss: Domestic is boring to me
8. Smut or Fluff: Not a big fan of fluff. I like some cheesy tropes (like Love at First Sight) but I’m tired really quick of fluff, so it needs to be a fic with other elements. And not tooth-rooting fluff.
9. Canon-Compliant/Missing Scenes or Fix-It
10. Alternate Universe or Future Fic: love the AUs. ALL THE FUCKING SUPER WEIRD AUs !!!
11. One Shot or Multi-chapter: It’s very rare a fic manages to stay good (like , interesting and/or coherent with the canon) during a long time, so if the fanfic is 34 chapters, for me, it’s a repellant, because it probably means the chapters are meaningless or the author loses themselves in their universe and forgot totally the canon. In my opinion, a good fanfic (I mean, ideally) has like 3 or 4 chapters, 1000 words at least for each one. So, I love one shot, it’s less risky to be disappointed.
Tumblr media
12. Kid Fic or Road trip Fic: I deeply hate kid fic, omg, I hate it with my guts, for me it’s the incarnation of the patriarcal and heterocentric injonctions
13. Reincarnation or Character Death: Again, I hate character death (I mean, major character death - except if it’s canon ?)
14. Arranged Marriage or Accidental Marriage or NEITHER: Hmmmmm I didn’t read a lot of “accidental marriage”. I’m not really fan of “arranged marriage” neither.
In fact, I recently read a Reddie fanfic (1000 nights), it was in Las Vegas, Richie and Eddie were...plastered and Eddie pushed Richie in the chapel of a casino and they got married by a drag queen priest. Does it still count like an Accidental Marriage ? Because it was pretty funny.
Tumblr media
15. High School Romance or Middle-Aged Romance: I feel so old when I read High School Romance fanfiction lol but even when I was 16 I didn’t like it. I like the characters in their own age, so SOMETIMES they are in high school but...hmmm it’s rare I read fanfiction taking place IN a school, it feels weird and more, it feels boring, because school is almost the same for everyone, I mean it’s a totes cliché genre. Also I don’t really like to imagine these fantasy characters becoming boring teenagers with boring occupations, sorry not sorry (but it’s the same with College AU, guys, I will kill someone if I see another art student pining for the annoying fratboy)
(I still read highschool BL mangas btw)
Tumblr media
16. Time Travel or Isolated Together: Time travel give me headache. OH GOD I HAVE ONE RIGHT NOW !
17. Neighbours or Roommates
18. Sci Fi AU or Magic AU: aaaah a good supernatural au, like vampire au, werewolves au, demon/angel au, fairy tale au, hpverse au, incubus au or any other ideas. I love how it’s creative, I love how it can be super original, I love the potential in these idea, because magic AUs are very rich in themes, you can play on the medieval fantasy genre, the urban fantasy, the alternative timeline or the past (like victorian vampire AU 👌)
Tumblr media
19. Body swap or Gender change: I don’t like Gender change anymore because first, gender is a spectrum, these fanfics are about binary genders, it’s a little bit cringy (but it’s not the real factor I don’t like it), second, (the real reason), it’s often male characters becoming female, and it often to make it “femslash”, so the femslash tags are FULL of gender bending stuffs about male characters, and not actual real femslash with the female characters, it...erases femslash and even if I’m not a reader of femslash, I think it’s sad, because it deserves its own space in the fandom, not everything has to be about the male characters (even the ones I love a lot).
You can say it’s more a choice driven by my opinions and not my preferences, but it’s kinda the same thing isn’t it ?
Tumblr media
20. Angst or Crack: Dude, it’s not a hard choice because I don’t really like crack in fanfic. I like it in fanarts, but you take more times to read a fanfic, and I don’t like crack during a long time. Crack is more a thing you enjoy quickly, it’s something who make you smile for a second then you scroll (or share it if it’s really funny or inventive). But crack in fanfic, it’s like a too long joke.
I don’t talk about crack ships, because crack ships can be interesting. Sometimes, I don’t see WHY you ship it (like Gavin x RK900 in Detroit: become human, or Lestrade x Mycroft in Sherlock BBC), sometimes I TOTALLY see it, but it still fun to see the explanations to put them together, the meta, the fan theories...
In the other hand, about angst...I like the drama, I like the horror genre (if you know my blog, you know I’m currently in the IT fandom, you know, the eating-kids clown thing), I like tears and blood, but...when it’s too much, it’s too much. I don’t like...I don’t know explain it : sometimes, you feel like the author had to get out some dark things they feel, it’s therapeutic for them but you feel kinda uneasy to read it, because it’s so DARK, man, it’s not even about the canon, it’s all about the writer’s feelings, and really, it’s okay, myself, I happen to cope like that. But as a reader, I don’t like it.
So I like some angst, when i’m in the mood, but it needs to have positive things in it too. Or to be short.
Tumblr media
21. Apocalyptic or Mundane: At first, I chose Mundane, but now I ask myself. I like the post apo genre, but I don’t like angst too much, like I said in the previous question.. But I still like it a little so...hmmmm it’s tricky. What is meaning mundane, by the way ? Mundane Lord of the Rings fanfiction, what is it ? What is MUNDANE in kids learning to fight with their quirks in a superheroes school ?
I will chose Apocalyptic because I love a good survival (and they have to cuddle to stay warm and save each other and cry by thinking the other is dead but in fact they are not and find a way to cure the zombie plague/find a safe place/kill the aliens XD)
Tumblr media
Now, the tagging part (sorry if you were tagged by someone else, and of course feel free to ignore it if you are not interested : @calimera62, @wilwywaylan aaaaand....I don’t know fucking people on this hellsite anymore. Maybe @sleeping-potatoe ?

Purgatory
Tumblr media
Category: General Fluff
Fandom: Gintama
Characters: Toshiro Hijikata, Shinsuke Takasugi
Requested By: Gintama Fangurl (FanFiction)
Alternatum to Ghosts
Toshiro frowned and angrily kicked the cigarette dispensing machine in an attempt to dislodge the pack of cigarettes that had jammed itself in the rotating dispensary springs. It wobbled as if it were going to dislodge, but then fell still in a clear effort to try his nerves. After several kicks gradually increasing in severity, all he had earned for himself was an aching foot. He cursed the defective machine under his breath as he shoved his hands in his pockets and began stalking down the street. He supposed it was as good a reason as any to follow up on the notion that he was going to try to quit smoking- the notion that he had been perpetuating for quite a while but just couldn’t seem to actually accomplish.
“Well… At least it’s quiet,” he sighed to himself as he walked alone through the night. The stores were still open catering to customers, but the atmosphere was light; he didn’t have to go chasing down shoplifters or beating up alleyway muggers. Ever since the conclusion to the Utsuro incident a year ago, the crime rate had dramatically decreased. Of course, it wasn’t zero, and so Toshiro and the rest of the Shinsengumi still had their hands full on a daily basis. Still, he didn’t have to go around chasing Joui patriots or fending off doomsday, so his stress levels had adjusted accordingly. Sometimes, probably for nostalgia’s sake, he still got that urge to smoke, though. The world just seemed to take him too seriously on his noble commitment and somehow managed to bungle his efforts to acquire a cigarette. If that was the most of his problems, though, Toshiro supposed that he should be grateful.
His craving for a smoke morphed into a craving for a drink, so he stopped into a quaint little joint and ordered himself a hot black tea. At this time of night, most patrons were partaking in alcoholic beverages, but Toshiro didn’t care to trade his chain-smoking habit for an alcohol-chugging one. Eyes lidded as he watched a couple of drunks raucously playing poker in the corner, he didn’t take much notice of the man who slid into the barstool beside him until he heard him order a black tea as well. Wait a second… I know that voice, he thought with a slight scowl and whirled around on the seat to be greeted with the smirking visage of one Shinsuke Takasugi.
Toshiro wondered for a moment if his drink was alcoholic after all because he was pretty certain that the man sitting beside him had been dead for about a year.
“Don’t look so surprised,” Shinsuke purred in amusement. “My specialty happens to be crawling my way out of Hell.” There was an air of light-heartedness about him, undermined by the subtle pang of guardedness, as he casually swirled the dark liquid around in the clay cup and eyed Toshiro out of the corner of his one good eye. The police officer deliberated for a moment on his course of action; even if a majority of the crimes of Gintoki and his compatriots had been pardoned, Shinsuke Takasugi had a pretty impressive rap sheet of crimes against the state. He had no reason to return to Edo aside from causing trouble. Yet… He didn’t seem to be up to much good and it wasn’t very like him to turn up at public venues, let alone plop right down beside one of the leading members of the Shinsengumi. Honestly, Toshiro wasn’t much in the mood to scrap with him, either. It was pretty good tea he was holding in his hand at the moment and he’d hate for it to spill and be wasted. He pursed his lips as he eyed Shinsuke critically.
“So what the hell are you here for?”
“Such hostility. You haven’t changed much,” he snorted with obvious distaste. The smirk fell from his lips to be replaced with a stony, blank, thin-lipped stare. “What became of Gintoki?”
“Spent the year living in a hole, didja?” Toshiro sighed and leaned his cheek in his fist with a return of his narrow-eyed expression. “That rent-dodging, apathetic asshole is still running his Yorozuya with the brats. Most often when I actually do have to answer calls about disturbances in town, it's him and his cronies.” Try as he may, he could not keep the faint hint of affection from staining his voice. Gintoki was an absolute bastard and a stain on society in many respects, but there was just something so likable about him that even the tough, gritty Toshiro couldn’t help but look upon him in mild fondness. Perhaps it was simply the rose-colored glasses of the former samurai saving the world a few times over that tainted his impression of him. “Why do you ask?”
“Believe it or not, even I referred to people as ‘friends’ once,” he remarked smoothly with a sordid look down into his half-drunk glass of hot tea. “On some level, I wish for him to be doing well.”
“Look at that. Shinsuke Takasugi, turning over a new leaf. I must be drunk,” he countered with a suspicious glance into what appeared to be tea but could very well be tea-like sake that remained sloshing around in his cup. He bristled a little when the patriot released what sounded like some bastardization of a chuckle, but was darker and more edged with iron, fitting his edgy personality and look.
“A new leaf? Maybe,” he said quietly with a faraway look. What was it about this bastard that made Toshiro unable to get a read on him? “I was dead, and yet I live. I’m just a specter wandering around looking for a reason, I suppose,” he said after a few seconds of silence.
“Didn’t you have followers?”
“They’re either dead or gone,” he responded levelly. Toshiro wouldn’t have thought it possible, but his expression softened slightly as he continued, “There’s one who still follows me around, but… She has nothing going for her otherwise, so I suppose it is a matter of necessity rather than choice.” He exhaled slightly and leaned back, rolling his shoulders lazily as he closed his eye. “Regardless, it is apparent that my endeavors and wishes in my ‘past life,’ as it were, are no longer sufficient to sustain my existence.”
“Pity.” There was not an iota of pity in his voice, nor in his body. Yet, he wasn’t triumphant about it, either. Toshiro didn’t pity him, but he understood being lost. Two years after the first clash with Utsuro, after he had been dismissed from the Shinsengumi, he had been trapped in that very limbo. He had occupied himself by forming a local police gang with other discredited members, but… It wasn’t fulfilling. It was just meaningless fluff that tried to fill the void but ultimately fell short. “So… You think Gintoki has the answers you’re looking for?” he continued slowly, eyeing him out of the corners of his eyes. The smirk returned to the patriot’s mouth, albeit faintly.
“I wouldn’t go that far… I suppose it’s more that I’m wondering how he did it. Moved on so easily, after the hell that we all went through,” he murmured thoughtfully. It did seem that way on the surface, the white-haired man had himself all put together and was totally unbothered. It seemed that way, but Toshiro didn’t doubt that the man had his nightmares, just like every war-scarred veteran, that the scent of iron and the screams of pain hovered just beyond his waking reality ready to pounce in moments of weakness. Toshiro knew exactly what Gintoki would tell him, too.
“There is no moving on,” he said and drained the last dregs of his tea, “there’s just living, or dying. That’s all.” Shinsuke’s eyebrow quirked as Toshiro stood up and dropped a few coins on the counter for the shopkeeper.
“Interesting. You sound just like him.”
“Don’t insult me.” Toshiro frowned at him as he laughed dryly, then began fishing around in the folds of his kimono. His eyebrows raised as he produced a pack of cigarettes and held it out to him. It was the brand he had been wrestling with earlier. He wondered if the pack had fallen down after a time thanks to gravity, or if Shinsuke had sliced apart the machine to claim Toshiro’s forgone purchase. He didn’t fancy returning to the vending machine to find out. The patriot shook the carton emphatically in offering. Toshiro’s teeth nibbled at the edge of his bottom lip as he considered it. “No thanks.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. I’ve moved on,” he remarked with a small smirk before dipping his head in farewell, not glancing back to see what Shinsuke actually did with the cigarettes. He slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants as he whistled a light tune, head tilting back to behold the brilliant full moon shining amongst the glittering stars above, in a space so vast it was beyond comprehension. So small were they, in the expanse of the universe, yet everything in their lives seemed too big and important.
Crawled your way outta Hell, huh? He thought wryly. Hope you make the best of purgatory...

I’ve been told by a beta reader friend that my main character is very similar to another character from a anime I’ve never heard of. Now I’m somewhat stuck on what to do next, I like my character but don’t want to be accused of copying even if it’s just freak coincidence.
Beta Reader Sees Similarity with Existing Character
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it. Here’s why...
1) There’s a difference between superficial and unique characteristics.
I could write about a brown-haired teenage boy with glasses, who plays a sport and is good at magic, and a Harry Potter fan might think he’s “very similar” to Harry Potter--but is he really? Fiction is filled with magical boys with brown hair and glasses. Lots of people play sports. None of these characteristics are unique, even when you put them together. I could pull fifty random people out of a crowd in NYC and several of them would be brown-haired teenage boys with glasses who play a sport. And these aren’t the traits that made Harry Potter unique anyway. Being marked with a lightning-shaped scar by the “big bad” who killed his parents, and being destined to destroy said “big bad” as a result--that’s what made Harry unique.
If I wrote about a Turkish yoga teacher with ankle-length purple hair, covered in unicorn and mermaid tattoos, with a big hoop through her nose, that’s a really unique character because those are all really unique characteristics. I could pull 100 random people out of a crowd in NYC and not find many who have even a single one of these characteristics, let alone any in combination. Because like Harry’s lightning-shaped scar or his parents being killed by the very person who gave him that scar--these are really unique characteristics.
Unless your character shares multiple unique characteristics with the anime character in question (which would be very unlikely if you’ve never been exposed to this character), don’t sweat it.
2) Our brains are wired to find patterns and similarities in random things, so we tend to see them everywhere.
It’s why we see dragons in clouds and Elvis on pancakes, and why we think we see someone we know in a crowd, or we can’t shake the feeling that we’ve met a total stranger before. Our brains are wired to look for similarities in people because once upon a time it helped us stick to our clans and be able to differentiate friends from foes. One way this brain function manifests is by seeing similarities in characters that aren’t really that similar. If you’re a big fan of an anime that features a girl with eyes and hair, who’s good at kicking ass, and she says some stuff, and one time kissed that boy--it’s understandable that you might look at another girl character with eyes and hair, who’s good at kicking ass, and says some stuff, and one time kissed that boy--and feel that they’re very similar. But as we talked about in number one, none of those characteristics are actually unique, so what’s being seen as patterns or similarities really aren’t. Our brain is just telling us that’s the case because that’s what our brains are wired to do.
3) The odds of inadvertently creating a character that’s too similar to another one are very very slim...
When we’re talking about all those truly unique traits as mentioned in #1, combined with other important traits like personality, back story, abilities, etc., the odds of creating a character “very similar” to one that already exists, but which you’ve never encountered, are astronomically low. It would be like filling a bunch of hats with names, middle names, surnames, jobs, quirks, and skills, then pulling one of each out of a hat, then walking into a movie theater and shouting, “Is Crystal Angeline Smith here who works in a spa, is obsessed with polar bears, and is good at calligraphy in here somewhere?” and then a woman in a hand-lettered polar bear t-shirt stands up and says, “I’m Crystal Angeline Smith... do I know you from the spa?" It’s super unlikely. Could it theoretically happen? Sure. But the odds are slim, and it’s unlikely to happen in character creation, too.
So, when someone says your character is “very similar” to a character you’ve never encountered before, one of two things is going on... either they’re seeing superficial similarities that don’t matter, or you have encountered the character and copied it knowingly or unknowingly. If you’re honest with yourself and you know you didn’t encounter this character before, then the similarities are probably just superficial and nothing to worry about.
4) Just because one person thinks it, that doesn’t make it true.
We get all kinds of feedback from beta readers, but the important thing to remember is not to worry about any of it unless multiple people share the same opinion. If your story is read by six beta readers and one thinks the protagonist is cheesy, that’s probably not feedback you need to worry about. If your story is read by six beta readers and three think your protagonist is cheesy, that’s definitely something to take into account.
5) Without clarification, the feedback is meaningless.
You didn’t mention which specific characteristics your character had in common with this existing character, so I’m not sure if your beta reader clarified these similarities or not. But if they didn’t, you definitely shouldn’t sweat it. Any beta reader feedback that isn’t qualified is questionable--unless it comes from multiple beta readers. Otherwise, disregard it. When someone can’t tell you exactly what similarities they’re seeing, it’s probably because they are just superficial similarities and are therefore nothing to worry about.
One final thing...
Remember that you can talk to your beta readers and ask for clarification on feedback you aren’t sure about. If they didn’t specify which characteristics are “very similar,” ask them to list them out. Then you can see for yourself whether or not you’ve truly hit the jackpot and inadvertently struck on the same combination of unique traits as some other writer, or whether this person is just seeing black hair, dark brown eyes, good at espionage and interprets that as a knock-off.

Heya! :) I noticed the OC ask thingy! How about #8, #31 & #50, because I'm curious! 💙
Ohhhhhhh my god, you chose the angstiest one, I stg hahahah xD
Okay so, since you recently got into BNHA and I know how much you love it, I’m going to write the answers based on the backstory surrounding Kitsune’s BNHA life, if it’s okay with you <3
(I can do YuGiOh too, if you’d like, since I know you love that one too <3 )
---
Tumblr media
For the questions to make more sense when I answer, I will put below her character info, for anyone interested <3
Hope you like this and isn’t too angsty and tragic haha <3
---
8. What is your OC’s theme song?
For this one, I think “Painkiller” by Three Days Grace
I feel that somehow, after everything that’s been happening in her life, now that she’s back to U.A. and has Dabi in her life, in a very disfunctional way, she leans on him and Hawks for support, since she’s in the grey area of Villain and Hero, and needing to find some way to erase the pain she has in her heart that she had to bottle down so many years.
31. What is their most traumatic memory/experience? What is their favorite memory?
Her most traumatic memory is when her sister died in her arms.
They were doing a Hero training, with All Might and Aizawa supervising, and the twins were in the HERO side, having to rescue a “hostage” from the “villains”, but as her sister was the one to fight, being the more powerful one, and Kitsune having to rescue the hostage, as she was the sneaky and fast one, her sister, Kasai, was caught in a crossfire real Villain attack, and when Kitsune returned with the “hostage” to show her they won the training, she saw her sister on the floor, bleeding, barely able to utter a word.
On the other hand, her favourite memory is when her and her sister got into U.A., but she wasn’t happy that she got into U.A., since she never cared much about becoming a hero - She was happy she was in the same school and class as her sister, since she never wanted to be apart from her, no matter what.
50. If your character was presented with imminent and unavoidable death/fatality, how would they react? Would they try to avoid death anyways? Would they try to make their last days count?
It depends on the time she has left and on the thing that’s causing the unavoidable death.
She will talk to everyone in power, seeing if they know anything on the matter and if they can help, and if there is a chance of hope, she’ll try to take it.
If not, she’ll go have a private word with Hawks, Aizawa and Toshinori, since they were the most influencial people in her life, then she’d go to Dabi and tell him everything there is to be told, lowkey forcing him to accompany her on a trip around the world - Or well, whatever place she wants to visit - Wanting her last days to be with the person who gets her and showed her that there’s nothing bad about having feelings. ( How ironic/hypocritical of him. )
