I might be the one of the few D4DJ players that like collabs, but D4DJ Global is getting the Rascal collab!! None of the collabs since last year were carried over, they just skipped them because copyright is too big of a hassle. And they skipped many collabs. But it's here now!! Bushiroad leaving the franchise does not mean the end of collabs! They can still get the licenses! This event was done in August of last year in the Japanese server, so this means skipped collabs can come back! Does this mean we get every or most or even some of the collabs because please. I want them. Maybe we can even get the huge list of songs that were removed back. Also this is personal but can I also get the cards. Especially the Miiko one. Pretty please.

Lars's the leader of the rebel army, so essentially, he's your client . You consistently offer your opinion, challenging Lars's ideas and proposing better alternatives .

He once 'awkwardly' asked you to join the rebel army but you decline . "I don't want to ruin my pink nails," you joked , that make Lars chuckle

You two grow closer as Lars's gentlemanly demeanor melts your heart, and he adores your personality. Together, you decide to take your relationship to the next level. After the defeat of G-corporation, Lars proposes to you with a bouquet of pink roses. "This flower . It remind me of you , (Y/N) . Please give me a chance to make you the happiest woman alive"

Lars decides to keep your relationship secret to the public eye, given his leadership in the rebel army and his desire to protect you. Even Lee, Alisa, or Jin are unaware of the intimacy between you two.

You're his employee in front of his work mate . He act serious and professional when he want to talk to you . But when you guy have a private moment , he take care of you like a princess . "You're my publicist in their eyes , but in private you're my princess" He said kneel down while adjusting your red heels .

Lars leads the rebel army so his schedule is packed. He often arrives home late at night to find you on the sofa, wearing a strawberry face mask. His heart warms knowing you waited up for him.

He softly runs his fingers through your hair, whispering sweet things about you shyly. "You don't need to wait up for me. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, my love," he says, nuzzling the side of your hair and planting a gentle kiss. "Your scent is always captivating," he whispers again. Just inhaling your sweet aroma instantly melts away his stress.

You wake up with a gasp. "Lars! You scared me, and you almost ruined my beautiful night routine" you say, readjusting your face mask that nearly slipped off. "Oh my love, I can make your night routine more...entertaining," he says, a smirk playing on his lips. You playfully slap him with your satin pillow. "Uh-huh, whatever. Where's my sushi?"

He freezes, realizing he forgot to buy you sushi, the late-night snack he promised. "Love, I... we have instant ramen at home," he stutters, gently holding your shoulders. You squint at him. "I'm on a diet" you remind him.

"It's okay! I know your rebel army is waaaaayy more important , I understand!" With a sarcastic tone , you walked away from the living room.

Unable to bear the thought of seeing your distressed eyes, he rushes to Lee's house at 2 AM just to prepare sushi for you. Luckily, Lee's place is stocked with luxurious ingredients, "Lars? What's this for?" "Sorry Lee , It's for my own satisfaction"

And by 3 AM, he manages to whip up the sushi. Returning to your shared apartment, he presents you with the sushi, apologizing, "Sorry, my love. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again." He gently takes your hand, kissing your knuckles tenderly.

"I love you , captain" you said , try to tease him and all the blood in his body rush through his cheek . "Ah? Are you blushing? Did I get the total-badass-side-character , justice-muscle-man blush?" You try to tease him for a second time .

"Ah, well... How could anyone not blush when they receive compliments from such a majestic woman like you?" He scratch his head , not looking at your eyes .

"I just want you to know that you're one of my top priority [Y/N] , You're waaaaaayy more important than my life" Lars wrapped his arm around your waist while giving you a kiss on the back of your neck .

Lee Chaolan

You're a professor at the Violet System. You're aware of his playboy reputation and his frequent outings with different girls. Sometimes, you're unsure which one is his girlfriend. Of course, one day, you catch the CEO's attention with your elegant presence.

He attempts to catch your attention, but you consistently ignore him to assert your identity. You refuse to succumb to his charm, aware that he might eventually lose interest and pursue another girl. Ironically, this only fuels Lee's desire for you. "I bought this necklace for you. I think it will look perfect on you!" he offers. "Oh? Who told you to buy that?" you tease, giving him a knowing smirk. "Um , this is not 'excellent'' He mumble , because you feel bad you just accept the expensive necklace .

"You can't leave this lab without letting me take you home tonight. sweet little thing," he insists while winking at you , okay he's little bit annoying but he knows your taste . He pick a beautiful present for a woman "Yea sure" You said "YES! EXCELLENT! Let's go!"

After a few dates, you find yourself drawn to his personality. You share many things together. Whether it's skincare, makeup, or fashion, he's always there to advise you. He knows the perfect skincare routine, the ideal makeup shades for you, and he surrounds you with new outfits that suit your style. One morning, you wake up to find yourself snuggled up with him on his million-dollar couch. It dawns on you that you've already fallen for him.

Lee surprises you by publicly announcing your relationship, declaring, "Everybody! This pretty woman over here is the love of my life!" This bold move catches you off guard, as he has never been so open about his relationship before. He also make a big deal about you , he make it completely obvious you're the one he want in his entire life . While you're together, you both have manicures, go to the salon, and even have shopping sprees. "We're so slay, Lee," you remark, admiring your matching vintage outfits with him. "Excellent!" Then, he takes a picture of the two of you. [ MIRROR SELFIEEE ]

"Phew! At least the world is saved," You said , Lee caressing his girlfriend's cheek. "Don't kiss me, I have a lip scrub on," she jokes. "Hm~ I know!" he replies, stopping. "Do you want to buy something before our trip, baby?" She hums, thinking about her ideas. "Let's go to the convenience store!"

Lee and you made a way to the small convenience store that was open 24/7. It was your tradition with your boyfriend, a secret adventure that you guys shared . Lee's always unserious and you adore his personality , You guys always seeking out the most ridiculous items that you guys could find.

Lee giggled as she spotted a display of neon-colored sunglasses. "Babe!, look at these! We could start a new trend!" Lee's arms wrapped around her waist from behind, surprising her. You gasped and turned, only to burst into laughter at the sight of him wearing the neon-colored sunglasses.

As you guys roamed the aisles, you guys picked up items at random, creating a pile of the most absurd things ; a rubber chicken, a glow-in-the-dark frisbee, a tiny umbrella with a pineapple pattern, and a pack of glow sticks.

You help up up box of instant noodles . "Do we need this?" You asked, raising an eyebrow. Lee covered your left cheek with a quick kiss "Well babe, you never know when a late-night noodle craving might strike!" He whispers .

"Lee , why are you buying that?" "What do you mean babe! It's good" "Both of us don't know how to cook dumbass and we're just going to eat at the restaurant---" He shuts you with a quick-kiss again and he run away with the trolley . "Lee!"

"They made their way to the checkout counter, their arms full of their strange purchases. The cashier, a sleepy-looking teenager, raised an eyebrow at their selection but didn't comment. As they walked out of the store, Lee slipped his hand into [Y/N]'s, their fingers intertwining. "I love our late-night adventures," she said softly.

"I'm glad you enjoy it , sweet [Y/N]," He replied, squeezing your hand.

Jin Kazama

You were one of Jin's juniors in high school. Whenever you passed each other, he felt an uncanny connection to you. Unbeknownst to him, your family was associated with a traditional exorcist in Japan. Jin had always had a 'slight' crush on you, but he never admitted it. He didn't want to dampen your spirit, so before leaving school to pursue martial arts, he gave you an anonymous love letter expressing his feelings towards you .

A few years have passed, and G-corp has been defeated. You continue your life as an entrepreneur. One day, you enter a coffee shop and order a double shot espresso, trying to resume your daily routine after the war. "Sorry, we only accept cash this morning," the cashier says, rolling her eyes at you. Surprised, you look back at the long queue behind you, waiting for you to pay. You don't notice Jin's presence, as it's been a long time since high school.

"Sorry I left my other cash in the car can you---" "ONE HOT CAPPUCINO FOR MR ISAYAMA" All the worker ignores you . "Honey,I told you already about this . We're not going to separate our bills anymore" Jin stepping in and pay the coffee for you . You looked at him , tilting your head trying to remember his face .

"I don't know you're such a good actor , Kazama" you give him a little tease , leaving the busy coffee shop together with Jin . Jin just stood silently while chugging his peppermint tea . "Thank you , that was nice by the way!" you smiles at him , "My pleasure" he replied shortly.

As you're about to leave, Jin stops you. "Well, this is my number. Can't leave my 'girlfriend' just like that," he says with a smirk. You're surprised, looking at him incredulously. "Oh, I didn't know this big, bulky, emo man had feelings? We'll keep in touch, big man," you reply, tapping his shoulder playfully.

From that , you guys keep in touch with each other . Then Jin confessed to you , he stand in front of your apartment with a big stuffed animal , he carries it until he reach your apartment . "Can I win your heart, [Y/N]? I hope it's as easy as winning this big bear at the amusement park. Just give me a chance," Jin says earnestly , How could you say no to that?

After that, you always teased him about his romantic gestures. He couldn't say anything but blush. "You're such a sweet and caring person, Kazama. If you had told me this before you left that school, we would have gotten together faster," you said teasingly. "Yeah… whatever," he replied, turning around to continue preparing your breakfast.

Even though Jin doesn't speak openly about his feelings for you, you can feel them through his actions. Jin embodies the idea of 'Everyone thinks LOVE is for show, but I'll DIE you in secret' . He's obsessed with physical closeness , PUTTING YOU ON TOP HIS CHEST HEARING HIS HEARTBEAT . HUGGING ALL THE TIME . You will sit on the couch and HE WILL STROKING YOUR HAIR AND KISS YOU EVERYWHERE . HE WILL BUY YOU YOUR FAVORITE FOOD/DRINKS . LEARNING EVERY SINGLE DETAILS ABOUT YOU .

He learns the art of makeup just for you, trying to buy you three different lipsticks and blushers, even though they might not be in your shade but this time it would suit you and your pink hair. He's a bit embarrassed confronting the cashier in the makeup store. "Ah, I never expected a guy with whole six-pack to come here. Is this for your girlfriend?" she asks, but Jin doesn't reply and leaves the store with all the makeup for you.

You, on the other hand, trailed behind, your expression a mix of awe and annoyance. You swatted at a pesky mosquito and wrinkled your nose at the sight of a muddy puddle. "Remind me again why we're doing this?" you grumbled, trying to avoid stepping in a particularly muddy patch.

Jin grabbed your waist "Don't worry princess , it would be fine . I'm here with you" He whisper to your ear , you just squinted your eyes while looking at his face . "Jin , answer my question" You said , Jin tucked your hair gently as he looked at you with a smile . "Because nature has a way of rejuvenating the soul," he replied, his voice filled with reverence. "It's important to connect with the earth and appreciate its beauty. And I want to experience it with you . The love of my life"

"I could appreciate it just fine from the comfort of a spa," you said. Jin chuckled softly. "You always make that face when you're tired," he said, pinching your cheek. You followed him silently, a red mark on your face. Like always, he remembered every single detail about you.

"Don't worry, we'll have your first favorite cereal, the one you used to eat when you were 5," he assures you." Hm? I wonder what flavor is that?" You teased , he smirks , Knowing the answer "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" . You lose it , this man always melt you away with demeanor .

As you guys reached a picturesque overlook, Jin taking in the breathtaking view of the valley below. "Isn't it magnificent?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with awe while holding your hand .

You couldn't help but be moved by the beauty of the scene before her.."It is," you admitted quietly, a hint of wonder in her voice.

You sat down on a nearby rock, the silence of the morning enveloping you and Jin. "Thank you , for showing me the beauty of nature and bugs..." You said ,

Jin widened his eyes after he noticed a little bump on your arm . "Princess, are you okay? Does it hurt? Is it bothering you? Do you want to go down right now?" "Jin asks, his concern evident though he doesn't express it too obviously. "It's fine, We can have a moment before we go down to meet your mom" You said , Jin just nods agree with you .

"[Y/N]" "Yes?" . Jin coughs , try to clear his voice . "You know what else is beautiful?" "What?" "You" . And after those words, you tease him all day.

Hi all! I’m just out here being three weeks late with my 2024 Writing Round-Up, and thank you so much to @monbons, @forabeatofadrum, @confused-bi-queer, @rimeswithpurple, @nausikaaa, @prettygoododds, @ileadacharmedlife, @artsyunderstudy, @best--dress, @j-nipper-95, @roomwithanopenfire, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @imagineacoolusername, @mooncello, and @thewholelemon for tagging me! I hope I didn’t miss anyone, and thank you as well to everyone who’s been tagging me for Six Sentence Sunday and WIP Wednesday this month. Without getting too much into it, I am BURNT. OUT, and it’s making me retreat from even the things I enjoy the most, like writing and catching up on everyone’s beautiful fandom works.

But, I’m determined to make this round-up post, even if it takes me a couple of days to put together. There’s a lot here! Almost all of it was from COC, which I was hellbent on finishing this year, and did! Here’s the list, in chronological order, of all published writing for 2024:

The Field Trap, 1/2 (5272, M) This has been sitting unfinished for a bit, but I do anticipate it being completed. I discovered a real love for Watford-era fics toward the end of the past year, but it probably all began for me two years ago when I wrote Field Trip of Dreams, the prequel to Field Trap. At any rate, I haven’t forgotten the fic, and Field Trap may end up with an E rating in the second chapter.

Time Will Lie Down and Be Still (26,201, M) This is the fic I’m most proud of this year. It’s the result of my COBB collab with @rimeswithpurple, and it’s been such an inspiration to work with Arianna! I highly recommend the experience :D This fic has 3/5 chapters published so far, and I’m getting there with the 4th. I’ll share that Arianna finished the art for Chapter 4 the other day and it is STUNNING, so I need to get my part done! For anyone who doesn’t know, the fic is a retelling of the movie Practical Magic (I’ve never been able to get very far in the book, for whatever reason, so I wouldn’t count on the fic lining up with it). This one is close to my heart for many reasons, but I’ve especially enjoyed building Dev’s character and his relationship with Baz.

Absolutely everything else I published was for COC, and I’ll put it below a cut due to length. Thanks to everyone who read my work this year! As always, the output of this fandom is just incredible, and I’ve enjoyed being able to take it in as well as contribute a little myself. Happy New Year, everyone!

Something Old (1146, T) Simon finds something unexpected while clearing out space in the wardrobe.

Chosen (880, G) Agatha and Simon have just begun dating and Philippa attempts to engage her in a little friendly roommate squee. Agatha isn’t quite so sure.

I Hate You, Never Leave Me (2339, M) Simon and Baz have found a new and better way to settle their differences, by getting each other off all over campus. Will it evolve into anything more, however? (I love this one, honestly. Might have to someday write a more extensive version)

Greek (1565, T) Simon has to keep a very close eye on Baz in Greek class, for reasons.

Let Me See You (1205, T) Simon is the one to find Baz draining a deer in the forest instead of Agatha. His reaction is not what either of them was expecting.

Truth or Dare (2608, T) Does what it says on the tin—the gang play a game of Truth or Dare, and the dares reveal a little more truth than anyone expected. (Definitely not a groundbreaking take on the prompt, but I never really tire of reading truth or dare fics, and hoped readers would feel the same :P)

Gently, Gently (668, M) Simon and Baz spend the morning in bed, skiving off class and not regretting it at all. (I came to realize that an embarrassing number of fics I write either start out with the boys waking up in bed or that is the entire premise of the fic. “Waking up” is a weird fetish to have, but OK me, I guess)

Looking for Knives, Looking for You (1181, T) Baz reflects on all the wounds he and Simon have given each other over the years. (Despite the vicious sounding title and depressing summary, this one was meant to be sort of cute and sweet)

Hold You Safe (1015, G) At the start of Eighth Year, Dev and Niall’s relationship is still very new as they get some bad news from home.

Dinner (Guess Who’s Coming) (3525, T) It’s half term, and Baz’s parents want to take him to dinner. They invite him to bring a friend, but unfortunately for Malcolm, he pisses Baz off first, and Baz decides his guest will be Simon—the Mage’s heir, his family’s mortal enemy, and Baz’s undying secret crush. (As with nearly all my COC offerings this year, this fic was knocked out during my lunch break the day of, and it shows. It really could have stood to be longer and more developed, so maybe I’ll revisit it one day, since I did like the premise)

Stay with Me (878, T) It’s Eighth Year and Simon gets home late and injured from a mission. Baz arrives at a resolution. (I was a little baffled to get a comment about the Mage already being dead, since this fic takes place during the school year and makes mention of a very much alive Mage in multiple places. It was more of a statement than a criticism though, I think.)

A Charmed Life (1449, E) Baz and Simon have an utterly normal morning getting frisky in bed. (Again. Huh.)

A Horse Named Jane (736, T) Simon has that song stuck in his head again. The one Baz can’t stand. They work out a (sort of) compromise.

Sour and Sweet (3060, G) It’s Baz’s birthday and Agatha has just given Simon his walking papers. Oh no :P However, the breakup does little to lift Baz’s spirits. (This one has two chapters and filled two prompts, sour and sweet, natch. Chapter two’s summary is: Simon decides he needs to make something sweet for Baz’s birthday, even though he’s two days late and doesn’t know how to bake. Well, he’s got magic at his disposal, so things are sure to turn out just fine. :P)

Punk (828, T) Baz is making Simon join him for lunch with Fiona again, but Simon figures he’ll debut a new look & attitude. Will they actually make it to the restaurant? (I really enjoyed writing this one. Simon being frustrated with Fiona’s behavior and still being silly with Baz about it was just a happy place for me)

Surprise (733, M) Simon and Baz are engaging in one of their classic Mummers’ House tiffs. What will happen? :P (I did write a little surprise into this one, but it was very much in keeping with some of my favorite themes)

Cast in Fire (791, G) Simon comes to Watford and learns about how his roommate will be chosen.

Fluff and Nonsense (1627, T) The prompt is ‘fluff’ and did I once again take the opportunity to write a light-on-plot secret relationship fic about Watford-era Simon and Baz being cozy and silly in bed? Yeah, I might have. Simon is going home with Baz over the Christmas break. Not a lot going on here, they’re just really comfy and in love.

Pieces of Me (1557, M) Baz has been having nightmares. Simon comforts him and encourages him to open up.

The World Was Open (956, T) Agatha and Niamh attend Simon and Baz’s wedding, and Agatha overhears another guest making a snide remark.

Find Me (2374, M) Eighth year at Watford was unremarkable, and Simon and Baz last saw each other when they graduated. Seven months later, Dev and Niall drag a pining and protesting Baz out to a club for a night of drinking and dancing, but there’s a familiar face behind the bar. Simon Snow is serving drinks, and worse, he’s flirting with a Baz lookalike. What will happen :P (This was yet another fic that could have been developed a little more, but I was still happy with the result overall)

Warm Spell (1795, M) Goatherd Simon has been almost-encountering a beautiful stranger for several weeks now, but one hot summer day, they finally meet.

Lost and Found (575, G) The boys go shopping together and Baz temporarily loses Simon, but it’s all pretty plot-free :P

Truce (1101, M) Simon pesters Baz while he’s trying to study, and needs to learn a lesson. Will they be able to call a truce? (This one was where the trouble began—I changed my settings to allow comments from unregistered users, because I like to fuck around and find out, I suppose. And find out I did! Luckily, the rude comment I received took aim at some writing element that didn’t even make sense for this particular fic, and I quickly realized it was a bot. Not long after, I started getting comments on other fics as well, all very nonspecific to the fandom, characters, and genre. I’m so sorry because I know it upset a few readers who were very kind to clap back and reassure me, and I changed my settings back so that it wouldn’t happen again.)

Savour (1189, T) Simon has been away on one of his missions for the Mage, and Baz has been awaiting his return by leaving out plates of food in their room every night. (Bot’s review: “the worst fic in the fandom”. It’s not even the worst fic in my own oeuvre, so joke’s on you, guy XD)

We Were Always Together (2239, T) During cotillion class, Simon is forced to dance with Baz. The horror! (I flipping loved writing this. Full on had a blast and Would Write Again)

Let It Snow (925, M) It’s almost time for Christmas break at Watford, and it may not turn out as the boys planned. However, thanks to a spell gone wrong (or very right) it may yet work out for the best :P

Always (551, G) It’s Christmas Eve and Baz has just finished putting the kids to bed. Simon is putting the finishing touches on the Christmas tree.

Something New (990, T) Simon and Baz have a little tiff near the end of eighth year, but it’s not fated to last long. I’ve written a lot of secret!relationship Watford era fics for COC this year, some that could go together and some that were in separate universes. It’s been so much fun to write about the boys sneaking around, but this is…something new. :P (In which I was very pleased with myself for how I wrapped things up in accordance with the prompt. I really, really enjoyed COC this year :D)

I had 10k words written, realized it was 100% backstory and unnecessary so i scrapped it and then it was like pulling teeth to get the rest of it together.

3+ finish contingencies write and complete one of the two companions and start the other. Also I just assume there will be more smaller fics, most likely more 3A argument fix it’s, because I can’t help myself.

Becoming Magnus Bane at 1,210 words. It’s more of the concept of a fic than a fic.

Devlog #32 | 06.27.23

Hi everyone!

I'm here! With an Update! This is an exciting one because I am Finally releasing a Full! Game! <3 I will obviously still be talking about Alaris, but I am vibrating with excitement because I can't wait to release intertwine to you all! THE RELEASE DATE APPROACHES

Writing

Because we entered crunch mode for intertwine, this month was mostly focused on continuing to fill out Druk's route and my dissertation.

I didn't make as much progress on Druk's route as I would've liked (I was hoping to FINISH it, but Otojam crunch wrecked my ass). But I do have most of the route finished! At this point, I only have the final chapter to go, so we are Very Close! Druk's route is shaping up to be a really fun one. I like to sprinkle humor into all the routes, but because of Druk's character, there are a lot of funny (at least to me) cast interactions. I hope people enjoy it as much as I do because I have a big fat crush on him now!

Regarding editing, we are just about rounding out the last of Fenir's developmental edits (courtesy of local superhero dev Wudgeous of Herotome) and Kayn's line edits (courtesy of local royalty IF writer Vi of Next in Line). With Fenir's script coming up on the last of the developmental edits, that is basically two routes that are going to be ready for beta-testing after the updated demo, which is very exciting! I am extremely happy with how Fenir's route has turned out after some developmental revisions, and I hope you all like the sweet little (grumpy) baby's route!

Art

Again, most (all) of my attention was on intertwine art assets this month. I was focused on the rest of the GUI, sprite expression, and CGs so that the game will be ready for release at the end of this month!

I'm really happy with how intertwine has come out visually considering the two month time crunch! Many of the playtesters mentioned how they liked the GUI and overall aesthetic of the game, which---for my pea-sized brain that has no object permanence when it comes to compliments---meant the world to me!

Additional Notes

I spent A LOT of this month coding. I re-entered programming hell to get intertwine up and running. There were a lot of features that I coded for the first time, like a texting interface, some animations, and one Special, Very Game-Centric Feature That I Can't Disclose Due to Extreme Spoilers. It was really rewarding to see it all come together, and I am pretty happy with the end result ^^

We also have a lovely voice actor for Van, which we revealed on Twitter. Max has been an amazing talent to work with, and I am in love with the way he brought Van to life!!

Finally, I spontaneously ended up working with Orpheo Fenn and Kija of Faefield Productions for a custom intertwine soundtrack. I've been wanting to work with them for a while, so I'm so happy we were able to collab!

No market research this month, except for the fact that I played Tears of the Kingdom a little bit in my free time ^^ I am so in love with Link. Also, I didn't see the appeal to Sidon in the first game, but for some reason in this game, It Clicked. Like I Get It.

h3h3 said that joji ghosted him after he got famous, ian says they don't talk anymore too. I wonder if max was the only one he was really close with or maybe they just recently reconnected.

Ok that's a tricky topic of conversation. Read more because as always i cannot shut up.

H3h3 and iddubz don't really mean anything to me outside of their old filthy frank collabs. I actually actively dislike them. Yeah you read that right. Thats why ive tried to make the fact that i am NOT running a cancer crew blog here clear. I just hate iddubz's old solo content. Seeing him beat himself up online nowadays isn't great either but by god his old stuff is so so bad (to me). Internet drama and borderline hate speech is a recipe for disaster and if he was smarter he would have seen this coming. I understand that some people like his older stuff out of nostalgia but i am not affected by this. I was not into YouTube back then. Im still not into YouTube. I only know of him and h3h3 because im obsessed with their old homie. My perspective is different, these people barely mean anything to me.

Ok now, disclaimers aside. Ethan said that joji told him not to call him filthy frank when he was talking about his music and he personally interpreted that as him being embarrassed of his past. Personally its just clear to me that what joji was asking for when he was taking his first steps as a full time music artist was space. Being known as an ex youtuber can kill someones career and considering the sort of content he was making as ff it just doesn't seem weird to me that he wanted to separate the two lol. He gave countless interviews where he mentioned his old content and that he understood why people found it so hard to move on from such an iconic character but that he didn't like conflating the two. And even then, a few years later he was encouraging fans at his concerts to chant filthy frank so i cant help but feel like Ethan's assumption that he is embarrassed and trying to forget it ever happened is baseless and biased. And after that....well. Its pretty clear to me that h3h3 used to be enjoyed by people but its had a pretty obvious dowfall since then. Idc about Ethan's drama (or the man himself for that matter) but to be completely honest i wouldn't keep in contact with him either. Idk if you are one of those people who still enjoy his podcast but to me and to many others it just seems bad. Real bad. A lot of drama and too little substance.

Now Ian...Ian is definitely less clear to me as an outside observer. I may not like ~the old iddubz~ but joji obviously didn't have a problem with him. They always seemed to get along pretty well on all the behind the scenes and going through the cake trilogy together probably means that they developed something similar to a warriors bond. He was fun on their collabs. But alas, sometimes people who used to be close just stop keeping in touch. A lot of Joji's old college friends (pookie/david, the shaman/lewys, wheelz/tyrell) are no longer in contact with him and yet they all speak of him very highly. People online like to act like he somehow ""betrays his roots"" by not keeping up with people he collaborated with on youtube back in the day but youtube isn't his roots lmao. His high school and middle school japan friends have always clearly been very important to him and he never fell out off touch with them. He is often touring alongside Rei Brown and he has mentioned in interviews that he relies on these friendships on his day to day life (admittedly the interview im talking about was from 2018 but there's no reason to assume that he has suddenly stopped talking to people that he has been friends with since he was like 12 years old). At the end of the day he doesn't owe people online to keep in contact with anyone. People grow up and change and not all relationships survive the test of time. And thats okay. Stuff happens, people move on. For what its worth tho, i feel like iddubz's drama driven channel (because lets be fair the content cops were his biggest thing and they were youtube drama no matter how self righteous or fair they seemed at the time) didn't help. The thing about joji is that he had always avoided internet drama like it was the plague, which is once again one of those things that i appreciate deeply about him. I hate internet drama. But even my kinda biased opinion aside, the reality of the situation is probably very simple. They are both grown adults who live very different lives. They hanged out together during a few summers a lot of years ago. They followed different paths in life. It happens. Joji has been very offline for years now and i get the impression that he tends to isolate himself when his health acts up so its probably not that hard to fall out of touch with him.

And last but not least....Max. I won't lie, out of the cancer crew the only other person i actually like besides my man Joji is Max. Maybe he really was closer with Max, i certainly find him more likable. Around 2018 both Joji on twitter and Max on that one cold ones podcast episode said that they still keep in touch. Max was replying to a lot of Joji's tweets up untill the nectar era but once again, at the end of the day they live in different countries. I obviously have no way of knowing if they were still as close as they used to in the following years. Maybe they grew more distant for a while, maybe they reconnected around 2023 when joji took chad and max backstage at his concert, and then of course the wedding !! Its all very sweet, the gimme love Max and Chad video from the concert lowkey made me tear up.

But once again, at the end of the day they are all living their own lives, doing their own thing. And people who act like they owe it to them to be each others everything forever and ever because they met online a decade ago and collaborated on some extremely iconic videos make me laugh.

Having just reached Meltryllis’s first appearance it’s very apparent why she’s the leading lady in the SERAPH collab and so on, and why she’s a fan favorite over Passionlip.

As much as I personally like Lip, Melt is undeniably standout, and Saori Hayama’s voice performance of cool intelligent superiority and breathless sadism is really compelling.

She’s not just a favored child—yes, she gets to be the one to break genre expectations and shatter the episodic format, which of course is going to give her a huge boost, but the intricacy of how her parts work together is apparent from just her first scene.

To see what I mean, let’s compare the two sisters.

Lip is very pitiful, and she’s convincingly miserable and mentally unstable. She’s a really compelling character and I really love her arc. But I think she doesn’t really take advantage of the fact that she’s designed after a BDSM concept—Masochistic Constitution feels like it mostly serves as “this is one of the several reasons she’s so miserable and sad.”

Based on some lines from her Punish scene and her SG entries, it seems like there’s supposed to be a sort of temptress angle to her powers—that once you get a taste of hurting her, you lose yourself in her like a fly in a trap, even knowing she’s not well, even knowing she’ll hurt you, until she closes around and devours you.But we just don’t see that in practice.

If she inspires anything it’s pity. Like, yes, we see in her SG2 scene that Robin Hood gets caught up in trying to punish her, but it’s more of a technical process, limited to the scenes where someone is bullying her. She doesn’t represent what’s so enticing about a masochist or a submissive person, she’s not even really portrayed as a closeted or unconscious masochist. Every indication points to her hating that kind of treatment, but being too meek to resist.

As a result, the different elements of her character don’t tie together. The eternal victim who shares the blame for her own loneliness and kills people because she doesn’t want to be alone, but doesn’t want the vulnerability of being known—she doesn’t have that element to tie everything together.

In fact, the line about her being a temptress from her Punish scene falls so flat as to come across as distasteful projection, which seems to imply we’re supposed to know she likes it by the fact she doesn’t fight back. It kind of makes me think Nasu doesn’t understand how to portray the appeal of a submissive, how to represent her as subject and object of desire.

Melt, however, is a different beast.

She’s bold. She’s direct. She’s domineering. She’s scary, she’s a merciless killer, but she’s also a really hot sadist.

It’s hard to fully get across without Hayamin’s breathless perfromance. She just sounds like a dom enjoying the high of Dominance. There’s an intoxicating joy in her violence, a sense that it’s not a warrior’s attack but something that she enacts for her own sake. She’s scary, but she makes that fear feel sexy; that life or death moment where you know she will kill you if you slip up feels almost like a scene between the two of you. It’s hot, and you can feel that almost dulling your extremely necessary fight or flight reflexes.

You can feel the influence of Sadistic Constitution just by being present with her. She goes from cold, beautiful, and fearsome to sounding like she’s going to lose herself in the joy of sadism as the encounter continues.

And this connects directly to her goal: she wants to offer up her entire self, the whole world, as a cradle of pleasure to her beloved. It’s the generosity of the sadist taken to its utmost extreme, the selfish selflessness of wanting to be the one that creates a paradise for your partner. It’s magnetic.

You can tell she’s unsafe. You can tell she doesn’t have limits and will really hurt you, that her love has no room for your humanity. She’s very obviously messy and dangerous. But also, she’s so magnificent that you worry if your attention slips, you just might take her offer anyway.

Melt is the femme fatale that Lip fails to be, and that lets her tie her aesthetic together and adds a lot of depth and complexity to her character. It makes her entrancing whenever she takes the stage.

It makes me sad to think about what Passionlip might have been, but it also makes me really pumped for Melt’s chapters.

Whumptober Day 26 - "Inside Out" (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Gojo, Getou and Shoko’s current mission finds them in an old hospital, trapped within the domain of the Curse they’re hunting. Gojo is wearing down, however, with his constant use of Six Eyes, and when he’s badly injured in the fight, things come to an explosive conclusion.

“Satoru.”

Interrupted from their conversation, the two turned to him in slight annoyance.

He leveled his look, trying to fill it with meaning and threat and warning as he stated, “I think you should rest.”

With a rough sigh, Gojo whined, “This again? You don’t think I can pull a couple of all-nighters?”

“This isn’t some sleepover, Satoru. We need you when the time comes and if that means you sleep until one of us wakes you up—”

Gojo whacked his friend’s hand from landing on his shoulder, “And let one of you get all the glory taking the damn thing down?” Then he yelled around them, “Wherever the shithead is!”

Getou flinched, an instinctive thing he hated immediately after.

Gojo noticed. “Oh, you think it can hear us? Well then why has it waited so long to show its ugly mug, huh!?” Gojo spun around, calling up and down the hall. “Maybe the thing is a girl and hideous!”

Shoko muffled through her lollipop, “Rude.”

“Satoru, calm down.”

Gojo shrugged off his friend’s grip, cupping to yell down the hall, “Maybe she was hideous in life, and died in this hospital with no friends because of it! Probably deserved it!”

“Dude,” was all Shoko gave.

With worry stirred in his limbs, Getou faced ahead, then backward. Ready. And all he saw was the same dusty trash and flickering lights like before but...

“See?” Gojo grinned, stepping back towards them, “The thing’s probably afraid of me. And for good reason!”

Those round sunglasses stopped right in front of Getou to glare at him. This close, Getou could make out how deep the dark circles were.

But the bright blue eyes could still pierce him as Gojo growled, “Go home, Suguru. Take Shoko and leave. Why anyone thought you were needed here is beyond me. And actually, it’s... Oh what’s the word again?” He straightened up to rub his chin.

“You’re being an ass, Satoru. Knock it off.” Shoko called.

“Asinine.” He snapped his fingers. “That’s it. At least Shoko was helpful.” He tilted his head down, glasses low enough so he could meet Getou’s vexed look with bared eyes, pouting, “Helpful. Unlike you and your weak-ass ability.”

Getou fought everything in himself to keep from punching the other, but only because goosebumps prickled down his neck.

If before was a whisper by his ear, this was an inhale.

“What’s the matter?” Gojo demanded, inserting himself in front of Getou again, shoving him in the chest. “You wanna tell me I’m wrong? Your ability is literally just stealing other abilities from Curses—without them, you’d be nothing! Who’s the strongest one here, huh?”

“Take a rest,” Getou gritted out, feeling the convergence of something and wishing Gojo would shut up for a second so he could concentrate on where it was coming from.

“I don’t need a rest!” Gojo shouted, with a wild laugh, throwing his arms wide. “I feel great! And I’m gonna take down this asshole Curse myself and prove you two weren’t even needed here! I’m gonna—”

It happened so fast that Getou didn’t have time to react. A giant arm of tortured flesh and stitches shot out of the wall. The hand clamped around Gojo, crushing his arms to his sides, squeezing. Getou watched, open-mouthed, as Gojo’s face turned from manic fury to actual terror, a second before the thing crushed him in its fist. The action pulled a surprised, agonized scream from Gojo’s throat before it flung him to one side.

ramble below about how things I love now wrap back into things I loved as a child, how other interests or favorite creators intertwine etc.

For BFDI:

I remember seeing scale of the Universe when I was likeee 8-9 years old w/ my older brother and being like. soooo mind blown. (Seeing the minecraft planet made me genuinely believe that minecraft was real ... I remember thinking that would show on International television soon 😭)

then like. i think from 15 years old I got into Kurtzgesagt : In a Nutshell youtube videos and it was kinda lowkey but I think in around 2020-2022 I started really loving their content ...

And then in 2023 I binged BFDI ^_^!! And It wasn't until I believe in November I found a video on carykh's channel about how he was mentioned in a Kurtzgesagt video (WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!) so I clicked and it was cuz HE MADE SCALE OF THE UNIVERSE.!!! mind freaking blown ... Cary teaching me 2 love science and the world when I was a little baby 🍀

For Pokemon:

I enjoyed pokemon very casually compared to my brother, but I still loved the franchise as a kid. The piece of Pokemon media that influenced me the most was the Pokemon 2000 movie... I think everyone and their dog remembers the scene where Ash turned to stone and all the pokemon and their dopplegangers started crying </3

After I gave away my NDS to a childhood friend/sibling I never really touched another pokemon game for some time. Even for Pokemon Go I didn't use it all that much....

In early 2016 I watched a playthrough of Undertale and it changed my brain chemistry TBH (first instance of young fran seeing the usage of a singular "they", and I knew the characters did it out of respect for the player character, not because they didn't know the gender of frisk). And well Undertale will remain a game close as hell to my heart. for more reasons than just the game cracking my egg

Literally day one of 2020 I got myself Pokemon Shield while drugged on novocaine (I had 4 of my molars removed in the morning, and the night before i had 2 best friends cut me off... not the best day) And played the hell out of it to ignore my problems. I know the game isn't the best but I still do love it okay........

Then on Twitter I see the official pokemon twitter talk about collabing with Toby Fox. freaking hi ... (I learn about the mpreg reference later but thats not important 💙)

and okay one more thing to wrap it up. well two i guess. I didn't realize Weird Al's "Polkamon" was an official(featured in a pokemon movie soundtrack) pokemon song ... for Pokemon 2000 Specifically... Weird Al omnipresently polka dancing around my whole damn life forreal

And well before I learned about weird al's (official) contribution to pokemon I hear about "Project Voltage" with a bunch of voca producers coming together to make pokemon themed songs using Mikus vb!!!! with designs for miku based on pokemon types!!! However when I heard about this I really didn't GAF despite all this love i have for vocaloid and pokemon ... you'd think I'd be hype over this <_<

Generally my writing process is kind of... all over the place. How it works for me probably isn't the most efficient, but it's one I've built after working with some close friends on a lot of collab projects.

I usually start with, well, the basic idea. Often my fics come from either having read something in canon and going "man I wanna see this" or it's a requested fic from a friend of mine.

From there, I tend to write out the barebones premise onto a doc as a stream of thought. No editing, no backtracking, just the basic ideas of what I want characters to say or do, and anything important that pops to mind from the idea. I'll tend to include little notes to myself like side stories to check or style notes here.

I'll use a WIP as an example here:

Joshua stares, very mixed feelings. Im sure they were no match to you, brother. But julius keeps hyping up subaru, and doesnt seem to be relenting on this. So joshua doesnt push, and instead asks about the rest of the camp? Ana pipes up about roswaal being quite conniving, someone not to be underestimated. joshua frowns. isnt roswaal that weird noble with lots of rumours around him (see: josh juukulius careful encyclopedia 1)

Nothing too fancy here - just trying to get the basic idea out on a doc with the bits and pieces needed to make it come together.

Then I try to refine it a little so it's closer to a draft than quick notes for me to refer to:

Lots more detail here, while still keeping room for flexibility -- I don't like being too strict with my outlines outside of plot points because otherwise I end up feeling like I'm not challenging/doing anything creative, just following a script.

After that point? I just write it out like normal. If I think the start of the fic is boring, I'll start writing from a point that actually interests me, then reassess if maybe I want a cold open or not for the story. I'm a massive nerd for the small details, stuff like body language or subtleties in what characters focus on so generally I enjoy starting from a place with a loooot of room for little notes on background.

For collabs, it's very much down to who I work with! The main people I work with are the reason I adopted this style of planning, but usually I leave it up to my collab partner to decide how we wanna plan, since I'm usually flexible in that regard! I used to write a lot more freeform without plans, so it's primarily for the benefit of telling a more well rounded story I plan at all.

I'd definitely love to do more collab work. It's difficult trying to fit schedules together, especially as I'm quite lazy with writing, but collab work always feels fun and ends up making me write outta guilt of not being that one person in the group project. Think the only thing that stops me nowadays is trying not to overcommit, or seem far too clingy with writers I really admire haha.

n: is there a fic you wish anyone else would write (or finish)?

There are too many to count!! In terms of what I wish someone would write, I tend to love guy wrenchingly angsty fics, so any version of that — ie. a vampire trying to find a cure for their own immortality, or circumstances that just prevent two people from getting together because the timing is right! I’d also love to see really complex fantasy and sci-fi AUs, but I know it’s a lot of work to write that and I’m so appreciative to people have done it already! I also adore slow burns, and genuinely wish there were more of them! Another guilty pleasure of mine is the TV show The Originals, and I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a BTS fic based on because it’s so good (far superior to TVD imo)!

In terms of fics I’d like to see finished, the immediate ones that stick out to me are Bound by obiwrites on AO3 (absolutely showstopping amazing work), and I wish someone (me) would write a sequel to my own Yoongi fic Before The World is Big because I am sitting here grappling with the fact that I left it unfinished and with no resolution between the main pair🥲

q: how do you feel about collaborations?

I have, and this is just going to be honest on my part, very mixed feelings 😣 I’ve hosted two collabs for Jin and Yoongi’s bdays but then also been part of collabs that have fallen through or that I’ve had to leave for my own reasons. I think the ideas are amazing and if they’re executed, lead to awesome fics (I especially like when the collab fics all tie in with characters and universes) but I do think it can put unnecessary pressure on fic authors to write. That’s also kind of the reason I’ve never really opened up requests either because I’m one of those people that if I don’t feel like writing something, I won’t. I’ve read and enjoyed many collabs though! One that sticks out to me was the BTS Christmas in July one from last year!

w: do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?

I think it goes both ways! Sometimes if I get a super specific prompt, my brain gets hung up on one detail about it and that can make or break me being able to write about it. But at the same time, I like having guidance about what to write! Also like I said above, I’ve never formally taken requests for this reason bc my muse is very fickle and I don’t want to disappoint people if I can’t fill them 🥰

Gosh I saw your Sousuke and Makoto post and those were my exact thoughts when I rewatched free too! How much Soumako’s relationship evolved (even if it was a bit shoved to the side) to something that came so naturally and balanced well for the two characters in general! And while the all patient and gentle Makoto trains Sousuke through rehab, sousuke’s also over here comforting Makoto when he knows makoto’s worried about Haru, even asking Makoto how Haru is cause he knows how much Haru’s on makoto’s mind… and even off screen official interactions like during collabs sousuke’s still looking out for Makoto outside of the pool… they’re so endearing and perfect for each other it makes me so sad they didn’t get more screen time 😭😭 and not even to mention the after the end credits of the final stroke part one soumako send a message to Rin and Haru and it’s the most heartfelt message that encapsulates free’s themes of friendship and drive but it was beautiful that soumako is the one saying it… i feel like they really support each other emotionally, physically, mentally in these tiny scenes of them… the chemistry is just too good…. (Omg I’m so sorry this came out so much longer than I thought I’ve been in a soumako hole)

hello!!!! so glad to see people still enjoying soumako in 2024...... (going into 2025, even!) and seriously i agree that imo they're a pairing that are best suited for each other (sort of the way haruka is for rin) their lack of screentime i think doesn't really bother me because that's kind of how i feel like their relationship works—something strong and grounded, in the background but always, always there... never really getting attention because they don't do anything crazy that calls for it (in contrast to who i consider the two protagonists of free: rin and haruka.... god. all the times they've had to find their way back to each other and navigate their relationship together). and i think in that sense it's so telling of just the kind of people that soumako are to each other: just a. comforting presence to be around. the person that blends into your world so seamlessly and makes it all the warmer for it. i can't get over how much they understand each other but i suppose sousuke said it himself—like hey. teach me your backstroke turn because both of us have similar body types. maybe they've just been that in sync because they're that similar!!!

!!!!! i don't think i've seen that end credits scene (i'll look for it in a bit ehe) but yes completely... as an anime i think free's themes are so centered around the human connections and the people you love and the people who have been an inspiration, the people who have been changed irrevocably (that scene at the end of fs2 when everyone gathers around haruka after the relay makes me so emotional). there's a reason why free! isn't about haruka being a freestyle swimmer alone, but rather centered around the medley relay with other people. crying...... again like it could just be because my favourite character is sousuke but more than just makoto (who is still indeed an integral part in sousuke's recover) there's natsuya, momotarou, rin, etc. everyone's fates are so deeply intertwined and it was so satisfying to see it come to fruition at the end of the last movie.

What are your favorite Sonic games / adaptations?

Sonic Heroes is my absolute favorite. Most fun gameplay style, I adore how everyone's always chattering so you get so much character interaction on the fly, and the music's so good I've bought all three OSTs on it.

The other reason I love Sonic Heroes is it's basically Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in 3D and that was my former favorite game. A lot of why I love/hate certain games is because it's similar or dissimilar to Sonic 2.

Sonic Forces? Short like Sonic 2, good. Sonic Mania? Levels are too long so it's unlike Sonic 2, bad.

I also love the Archie comic era of the Sonic comics, like back when Sally was pink and Bunnie was topless. Mainly cuz Sonic seldom is gag focused and aunno it's charming. The Sonic Boom comics are like a modernized version so I'm real sad that never returned...

I also hate the Sonic Boom cartoon for being boring, so eh.

I think the 1993 Sonic cartoon might be my favorite but honestly every '90s animation has its charm. It's a bummer my favorite character, Amy has never had a real good adaptation and it's unlikely she ever will. (Well, a straight adaptation)

Sonic Lost World is also the only game I enjoy being Sonic. The parkour is so fun and just makes so much sense for Sonic. The tense but well-oiled controls also are just really fun. The second sea segue rail level is the best level in the game. It's so tense but whenever I die it feels like it's my fault! It's great!

Actually wait, I remember the Mecha Madness showdown on the old Sonic comic, it was only three issues long (well I guess four including the trail) but aunno it was so hype. I kinda wish we'd see a beloved cast member be roboticized longer. Like Sally was for like, an issue I think? Then there was Tails' fake out in Lost World.

Sonic Prime's Rusty Rose was interesting but like you're missing out the drama of loss because she's basically a stranger.

I also love Issue 125 (I think) of Sonic cuz it had ALL of the deviantart furry collab era artists working together to make one spectacular issue, a concept that wasn't revisited until the 900th adventure special last year.

Like yeah some people hate Sonic's droopy quills and square eyes on that one guy, but aunno I love the dice rolling of designs. Yeah a few artists were the best but aunno the designs I disliked kinda... made it more special.

It's why I love seeing fan art, it's kinda impossible to make Sonic look bad bad it's kind of a two cakes sitch. I just love seeing it. The current comic artists are alllmooost as diverse as the dA furry collab era, but aunno there's too much on-model.

I guess that's why it's hard to be positive with Sonic, there's so much good stuff it's the bad things that stand out. Like it's easier to talk about the sanitized era but that's off-topic.

Then again I have a wall of text here... aunno Sonic Heroes is my absolute fave. Tho Sonic 2 is prolly the best.

Okay part 2. I hope it's okay that I'm sending in parts because sometimes I forget stuff or lose track of everything I want to say. But last Broadway thing is that you can explain or spoil the Notebook characters thing since it confused me. I actually was reading about the staging of the rain yesterday which seems complicated. I'm always interested in this stuff like set design and some of the business stuff you mentioned too. The only thing with seeing this show is I heard it will really make you cry and idk if ive ever actually cried when watching a show before which seems weird cuz I saw Les Mis but don't think I cried. Did you cry when you saw the show..I'm just curious.

I also wanted to tell you that I slowly started reading again. I'm on like chapter 10 of This Summer Will be Different and also Funny Story. They're pretty different so can't really compare but I'm loving both so far so hopefully I can stick with it. I do think these two seem the most tropey compared to the other books so far and I think it's fun but it might also start to lose me so idk. I heard about both Happy Place and Funny Story also being made into movies too. Also it was just announced that Every Summer After will be a tv show apparently. Idk why cuz that reminds me too much of the summer I turned pretty, that's also a show. Actually I think Happy Place is supposed to be a show too. I guess I don't like when everything is made into a show when it could just easily be a movie. I get that you can add more stuff..I think I'm just less likely to finish a show than movie but I hope it's good. What do you think? I think they're easy to imagine as movies but it's just hard to imagine the casting if that makes sense. I remember I meant to reply to you sooner to say something about the anniversary of your eras show but for some reason I forgot. Then mine just passed which is already a week after yours but I still thought about you. I can't believe that was my last concert and my next will be my other favorite artist at the end of this month. For collabs, I just think about the re recordings and I think someone once suggested Noah Kahan on debut and I wouldn't mind that. I've also thought of Kelly Clarkson for debut which is something I would really want for 10 year old me and Tim McGraw so it can be kinda full circle and maybe how she collabed with Keith Urban. I haven't thought of any collabs for rep actually and I would even like it if it didn't have any..like 1989. I would say Halsey and maybe Selena if she decides to release Need. Lorde is also a popular answer I wouldn't mind but idk if these are likely. There may have been Sabrina Carpenter collab rumors at some point and I enjoy their voices when they sang together but don't know what it would be like or for rep or debut. Or it could just be okay..like the Gracie one so who knows. I would also love Soccer Mommy on debut since she covered a debut song and she's from Nashville. What do you think of the possibility of rep being announced or released pretty soon this year? There's a lot of theories about it being announced possibly today actually. Part of me thinks she wouldn't release it for a while but part of me also thinks she would wanna release it before tour is over. I don't know how I feel about debut but I doubt they would be released this soon cuz we got a new album this year. I have no idea anymore though honestly. She also could release while she is on a break from tour next month so it's hard to know. That's what she did with TTPD. What do you think?

Soccer Mommy also just announced her new album yesterday and I am very excited for it! It's called Evergreen and comes out in October. I actually think this album will be a little different for her..like more mellow which I was saying reminded me a bit of Folklore. Now with the name..it also reminds me of Evermore too and I love that connection so much. It could be her version of a fall album which also reminds me of Red and the name having green in the title and green is my favorite color. I know that's irrelevant to the meaning but it was funny cuz it reminded me of Red. I totally recommend her music. I will listen to Clairo today and give my opinion but I like what I've heard so far. Same with the relic substat but honestly he would just farm until he got the relic if a substat he wants, he's patient like that (and his fans give him a looooot of shards and money so he can spend it stuff like this).

Dan maxes out all the character he uses, he won't actually use them until he has them built in a way that's most effective btw and he will take his time with it. So, if he for example gets Sunday, he will get him to max level (same with his lightcone), level up all the traces and get the perfect relic set and THEN he will add him to a team for support. Like, he ain't fucking around what do you take him for an amateur??? (Dan would hate my playing style cause I'm literally just cobbling together my teams to the best of my ability lmaoooo)

Also, Marina would tease him about liking Dan Heng IL and Bailu just because they are dragons, it's like his one weakspot when it comes to characters (like... he induldged himself for those two, even if Dan Heng IL is still meta he would have gotten even if he wasn't because he likes dragons).

Marina doesn't have time to grind in her spare time, she's very much on the chill culture side as long as it doesn't involve her work or ambitions. Meanwhile Dan grinding for relics going: whut? (Dan is pure grind culture with every aspect of his life... seriously how hasn't he dropped dead yet? On that note i feel like his immune system would be pretty damn crap and Marina would need to force him to fucking rest when he gets sick once again <- cause dan would still game when sick).

Yves is certainly playing the mystery angle with their V-tuber set up. Which is a damn shame cause they make for a damn pretty picture together and money was rolling in but if it's not working, it's not working, y'know?"

As for Cilmi. Yes Ein. Yes he would pull for every character just for the lore. Dave in the background: "You know that you can just look that shit up online right?" SILENCE! CILMI WILL DO IT PROPERLY OR NOT AT ALL! He will do it the hard way and he won't pay money for it because it's a free game and refuses to give in. He's going to gather all the knowledge with his own two hands, no financial assistance required. Cilmi is a patient man and shows it in the weirdest of ways sometimes. Dan would be a streamer and he would be a hardcore gamer kinda guy like... streaming for hours on end, optimizing his game play to the max, always planning ahead. He wouldn't really talk much and mostly be focused on the game with the occassional sassy comment that gets a laugh. His videos would be the kind you would watch if you want a perfect walkthrough for a game. He assumes he gets so many views and donations cause he's just really good at gaming and while that is true he doesn't understand that... tired pretty gamer boy is great for the wallet 🫡 (Dan continues to be oblivious about his appeal at the worst times please you are usually so observant Chief...)

For HSR his main would be Acheron cause... okay so I'm in no way a HSR expert i'm purely basing this of watched let's plays and my idk five days of playing the game. But from what I gathered... Acheron is super op and also her insta kill ability is so fucking broken and Dan would love the efficiency of it. Note that Dan would probably not really... fanboy about characters a lot, he would mostly chose based on stats, abilities etc. Though he would probably have a soft spot for Bailu cause she looks like a cute kid and has dragon characteristics (Dan like me can't resist a good dragon) which is also why he probably likes using Dan Hengs IL built as well.

Otherwise... the reason why Dan is so tired in this AU is because he keeps pulling all nighters while streaming, he's the type of person who gets in the flow and just... forgets that the outside world and passage of time are a thing. Marina often scolds him for that.

Dave

Davey-boy would also be a streamer and a youtuber! Unlike Dan his playthroughs are way more casual and mostly an excuse for him to endlessly yap about whatever comes to mind. His gameplay is more focused on humour and entertainment like doing blind let's plays because it feels like going on an adventure! He met Dan by chance through some kind of co-op event where they got paired up with (is that... even a thing in gamer circles lol? idk but it will be in this au cause i like Dan and Dave getting thrown together on fates whim that's always funny as hell). Dan was not amused at first but Dave got attached because "Chief's gameplay is godtier! Please teach me senpai!!!" Yes, Dan is still called Chief it's his twitch username. Also Dave is totally a weeb lmao. Anyways, after the event Dave just kept on bugging Dan so much until he eventually just gave in because it's less of a hassle (and because he secretly finds Dave funny but nobody tell the gremlin that!).

Dave's fav in hsr would be Aventurine, simply because he reminds Dave of himself. The cunning, the showmanship, his past... it hits close to home and speaks to him making the Gambler his favourite. Otherwise... he would totally fanboy over Boothill because Space Cowboys are hot 🫡 And once again in contrast to Dan, Dave would totally pull based on hotness of a character, he will collect all of the ikemen trust! Especially the purple ones which there are plenty of!

Marina

Marina would be a causal gamer, doing it in her rare down time when she wants to relax. Honestly, she gives me animal crossing, stardew valley, harvestella vibes? She's just here for the chill, but Dan got her hooked on HSR so she plays it too. She sometimes joins her brother in his streams when he covers games with a multiplayer option and naturally views and donations sky rocket on these occasions. For Dan that's a given because Marina is gorgeous and decent at gaming why wouldn't people fall over themselves to throw money at her? That's just the natural order of things.

Now favourite hsr character is... tricky. Hmmmmm, honestly her favourites might just be the Landau siblings, because their relationship would tug on her heartstrings and she likes Serval's rockstar asthetic. Also, the way Serval teases Gepard is a vibe and it reminds her of her and Dan's relationship which is always a bonus.

Yves

Now my first thought when I combined Yves and gaming was: V-tuber and honestly it fits, so let's go with that. They would make a lot of bank with their videos and streams because they know how to play an audience. Also, ngl I feel like Yves would have an OnlyFans... to make even more money...

Their favourite characters would be Black Swan for the mystery vibes and asthetic and Sparkle for the chaos and mayhem lmao.

Cilmi would be a pure lore player. He gives no fucks about the game play and fights but the plot and all the extra bits. Yes.... that's the good shit. He would actually read every single fucking collectable note you have in the game. And I'm not exaggerating with this, he would fucking buy the lore in the shops (which... idk if others do that because I don't bother lmao).

Naturally his favourties are Dan Heng because fellow archivist and Dr. Ratio because fellow intellectual! Finally some people with class and correct priorities!

René

René would probably start playing hsr because Cilmi is super into it and he got curious, wanting to know what all that fuss is about.

He wouldn't enjoy it super much, finding all the different mechanics and modes overwhelming. Also, he would actually play the fights at normal speed which Cilmi will never understand (Cilmi speeds through fights and absuses the auto-play heavily, he's not here for fighting he's here for worldbuilding).

But René would love Clara, because she's just so kind?? so pure??? Truly such a good girl, he can't help but cheer her on. He would like Welt as well for his calm demeanour and Dan Heng because he reminds him of Cilmi a bit.

The beloved and exciting math teacher

Along with you, the engaging history teacher

Together, you create an engaging environment for all your shared students

And though you thought no one knew of your marriage, the students mentioned how obvious it was

After all, the two of you are normally seen together around the school

You both laughed it off and even tell stories to the students if they're interested

Ayato loves doing his lesson plans with you

Motivating each other to get them done while also making the learning fun and engaging

Plus, it’s better to ask for a second opinion

Now, he knows that calling out of work is not good

But there are some days where you both will get subs for your classes to spend a much needed break or day out together

Most of it comes from your vacation days but some may come from those sick days

What can you say? Ayato is one needy person sometimes, it’s quite adorable

Speaking of needy, the two of you are so close you even have classrooms next to each other

It’s convenient for students who need to get between the two of your classes quickly

Sometimes, the two of you will both stand outside your door greeting students just to see each other

Some of your students will talk to you both at the same time just to hear some of the playful teasing and banter that goes on between you two

The dynamic you two share is something the teens get a kick out of

Who were you both to deny them something that brings them joy in a learning environment?

Overall, working and teaching together is fun for you both, and you both enjoy what you do!

“Alright, now that the game is set up, please get to playing with your partners!”

The room instantly fills with chatter as your students begin playing the board game you set up. It was a history lesson game, something to help them remember the information for the coming test. You begin walking around the room, chatting happily with the students.

Over on the side, Ayato leans on the frame of your door while staring towards you. His class today was called to take yearbook pictures, so he had nothing particular to do. Why not pay a visit to his beloved?

He admired the way you were engaging with your class. Pointing out small details, laughing with them, overall making the class environment warm and welcoming. You had such a caring and happy nature, it’s just one of the many reasons he fell so deeply in love with you.

You glance up and finally meet his eye. Your smile grows wider as you say something to the kid you were helping before walking towards him.

“Don’t you have a class, Mr. Kamisato?” You question with a teasing tone.

He smiled down at you. “Can’t a man learn the basics of high school history?”

“Maybe. Though I might not be the best teacher for the job.”

“Oh?” Your husband questioned, bending down to your level. “But you’re the best teacher in the world. Who better for the job?”

You couldn’t help but flush at the flattering words. “Sounds like a bias. Now, what would you like for lunch today?”

Before the man could answer, a student called for you. You call out a ‘be right there’ before turning back to Ayato.

“Sorry, I gotta help them. But text me what you want, okay? It’s on me today.”

Ayato nodded, giving your hand a squeeze before you rush off to do your job. He admired the way you try to divide your attention, always making time for him and your students at the same time. This applied with home life too, whether it be helping him or grading your own papers. Your husband was so smitten for you, he wanted a nice lunch to give you a small break.

Now he just had to ask for your favourite meal for lunch to spend the best time together after class.

The hyper physical education teacher

The two of you mentioned your marriage briefly on the first day, and the students wanted to know it all

Ajax loves to brag about you and how amazing you and your class is

Sure you do the same, but not as much as he does

On your off periods, you’ll join him and his students outside to help out with anything he needs

He appreciates the help, but loves spending that time together way more than anything

You’re always encouraging him to join you at school events and gatherings

Conferences, games, plays, you name it, you drag him to go to support the school

Speaking of sports, he coaches both the baseball and basketball teams

After school practices don’t bother you; after all you sit by his stuff and work on grading papers while he’s busy

Before you leave in the morning, you also check to make sure you both have everything

He’s quite forgetful with a lot to bring, but luckily he has you to help!

He’s also very encouraging in the nights you have a lot to grade for the next

He will make you a warm drink and play music while sitting with you to help you stay sane during it all

You have zero complaints about teacher life with your husband, and you wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world

“Alright, one lap around! Then practice is over!”

Ajax watched as the group took off for their cooldown lap, a sigh escaping his lips. It was a hot day, he couldn’t deny that. But he still had to keep the same routine going. The man simply made it shorter than normal.

Once practice was finished and the students packed up, you walk over to him, carrying his bottle of water. “Drink some water, darling. You’ve been sweating your arms off.”

“Oh! Thank you.” He responded, sending a wink your way before drinking the water.

You smile back and gather up his stuff for him. Ajax had some paperwork to fill out quickly like always. You were simply helping him out, which he greatly appreciates.

Once he finished, he met you outside the obvious to begin the drive home. He insisted on driving, leaving you to relax comfortably after a long day.

“Do you have to grade tonight?” Your husband questioned, holding your hand on the center console.

You let out a small hum of acknowledgment. “Unfortunately. Grades are due soon so I need to stay on top of it.”

“Alright, I’ll make dinner then. It’ll be a surprise.”

You already knew he was going to make your favourite meal. But you kept quiet, only smiling in response.

Once you made it home, you immediately made your way to your office, beginning your workload. Luckily it wasn’t as much as some other days, but it was still quite a but. Curse you for putting off your work till the end of the week.

In the kitchen, Childe is quietly listening to music, making up a nice dinner. He wants to spoil you of course, so he makes everything to the best of his ability. Even lights a few candles and places some flowers on the table to surprise you!

Once he’s finished, he goes to your office, massaging out your sore muscles and requesting you come eat and take a break. You do, and of course you are pleasantly surprised at everything he did for you.

“Only the best for you, my favourite teacher.” He says, planting a kiss on your forehead. “Now, let’s enjoy this night and weekend, alright?”

The mysterious health teacher

Along with you, the silly band teacher

Honestly, your students had no time to even question your relationship

On the first day Kaeya let everyone know the two of you were married in his “get to know me” presentation

“And this is my amazing partner, [Name]! They also teach here as the band teacher!”

At the student-teacher baseball game you once held, he told you he’d make a home-run, just for you

…he did not make a home-run

Cue the relentless teasing from you and even some of his students for losing the match

But don’t worry, you’re still proud of him regardless

He’s also very proud of you and all that you do!

You have a very successful band and you’ve won quite a few competitions in your years there

A lot of the school knows you from being quiet.. the character of a teacher

You’re always proposing fun ideas and activities that would blow people away

And Kaeya only encourages everything you want to do

He's your biggest supporter after all!

His favourite thing to do is take you on vacation during school breaks

Break is for everyone so you both deserve the time to relax without having to worry about every one of your students

He's also very much a gentleman to you on and off campus

He dotes upon you, holds open the door for you, all of that jazz

He's practically the perfect teacher while also being the perfect husband

The last school bell finally rang, and you let out a sig of relief. There was a lot to do before the competition tomorrow, and you needn't spare any time. After your students left the room, you got to work taking out the necessary instruments and materials.

Not too far from your room was Kaeya, who just finished his last class as well. He dropped by the office to grab your papers for you and wanted to surprise you.

He didn't expect to come to the room in such chaos.

"I know competitions are stressful but normally it doesn't take place before the competing.." He said, setting the papers on your desk.

You sigh and stand straight up. "Excuse the mess, but I forgot to ask students to help during lunch! There's nearly no time!"

Kaeya could sense the slight panic in your tone. He knew you didn't want to let anyone down by not being prepared, but he was worried. Watching you run around like a chicken with your head cut off was not the best sight in the world.

"Alright, firstly why don't we calm down?" Your husband says, walking to stand in front of you. "Some deep breaths, okay? Then we'll assess what we need to do."

Despite not wanting to stop working, you saw that look Kaeya was giving. You sigh and take a deep breath, allowing your body to relax and feel content. Your head drops to his shoulder as you groan.

"What would I do without you, Kae? I need to be more organized.."

Kaeya chuckled, patting your back. "Nonsense! Now, let's get to work! What needs to be done?"

The real question was what didn't. Instruments needed to be set out, permission slips needed to be counted, and lunches had to be prepared and discussed with the kitchen staff. There was also more to do, but those were your main concerns.

"Easy enough, let's get started then!"

And spon enough, everything you were so stressed about doing alone was done in a simple two hours. You were oh so grateful for your husband who volunteered his time to help you. You even promised him a nice dinner tonight at his favourite restaurant. Considering it a thank you, while he considers it to be a pre-competition celebration. Either way, you wouldn't pass up an amazing opportunity to have a nice night with your lover.

Kaeya couldn' help but admire your commitment to getting things done for your students. You were such a caring and dedicated teacher, whether the students saw it or not. Though you may be titled 'The Crazy One' around there, Kaeya is glad to be able to see past that. A vulnerable place that no one else could see. Because you trust him to help you be the best version of yourself. And that's something he will protect with everything in him.

The clever economics teacher

Along with you, the kind and collected math teacher

The two of you were like puzzle pieces that simply fit together

His students and yours would always make little plots to get you two to see each other before they knew you were married

Once you both saw through their plans, you decided to mess with them a little

You pretended that their plan worked and you were both going on a date that weekend

When they asked how it went, you tell them that it went so well, you both got married!

Once the initial shock wore off you both explained the joke and laughed at their attempts

He absolutely loves showing up to meetings with you

Sitting next to you, asking your opinion on a lot of things, and ensuring you’re involved overall

Oh and he will never accept anything unless he knows you will to

“Would you mind chaperoning the school dance?”

“Let me check with [Name] beforehand.”

And despite being on a teacher salary, the man is still very much rich

He will always leave little gifts on your desk before school or during lunch

Some common ones include flowers, jewelry, and your favourite snacks

He also likes it when your lesson plans connect

So if he’s teaching the value of bank interest, you’re teaching calculations of interest rate that same day

Just an easy way to help students remember the lessons you both taught

Your life together is calm and simple, but you find the little things to enjoy and share that joy you both have

Pantalone gives curt greetings to all the students that wave ‘hello’ to him. Most of them are his students taking his class while others knew of him through the school talk.

He finally arrived at his destination; your room. He gently knocks and hears a confirmation that he may enter. You knew it was him, so you can simply yell for him to let himself in.

A smile graces the man's lips when he walks inside, the calm atmosphere always welcoming him. Your husband walks to you, planting a kiss on your forehead.

"Busy?" He questions, noting the stack of papers and a red pen off to the side.

You smile, leaning back to look up at him. "Almost. I was going to get started."

He hums in acknowledgment at your words. Next, he reaches into his bookbag, pulling out a small black box. Pantalone bends over next to you, holding it out.

"A gift.. for you and your hard work, my beloved."

You let out a small sigh and chuckle. "Again? I received one today already!" You say in exasperation.

Although Pantalone's normal routine consisted of only gifting his darling one gift, he couldn't help but want to spoil you today. Of course this urge is there nearly everyday. But it's how he shows his love and adoration for you. You both know he's not the best with affectionate words, but his gifts convey things that words could never.

"Forgive me, but I saw this and immediately thought of you."

Opening up the box, your eyes are met with a gorgeous emerald ring. The design was intricate and you can only imagine the cost. But bringing that up to your husband would be futile. The present was perfect and you couldn't be more thankful.

"Thank you, my dear." You say, leaning up to place a gentle kiss on his lips. "You know, my students will notice it tomorrow."

To that, Pantalone can only chuckle. "I hope they compliment it then. Now, how about we go home and work on these papers, hm?"
