At first Dizzy was kind of against to becoming a rescue worker (for all of them) because what if the same thing happens again?? But she wanted to become one. Then later she changed her mind.

Anyway enough with the angsty stuff

For looks, Dizzy and Zoey took up after their dad. Runi and Sparky took up after their mom

Runi is aroace and Dizzy is bi bc i said so. Runi is he/they bc i also said so

ALL of them have extreme sweet tooth. they would eat pure sugar. They also love spicy stuff (Zoey is really good at making spicy burritos)

(during his firefighter training) Runi got a scratch all across his mouth (ty @/worldairportwonders 's doodle for the insp) and it damaged their vocal system badly. They had to cover his mouth during that time for the treatment, why not spice it up with a cool looking mask? Thats where his mask comes from. Although their voice is now a little raspy.

Zoey is really interested towards biology. She collects dead bugs, plants, etc. to cut them up. On the other hand, Sparky doesnt really like them so Zoey sometimes annoys him with it

Runi loves chemistry, mainly fire interests him. They watch lot of vids about fire experiments, chemical reactions, etc. He never tries anything with fire though (they also watch Curie's experiments)

All of them likes drawing in some way.

Runi left first to become a firefighter. He always dreamed about becoming one

Dizzy left next, to join SW. hard for her at first but after seeing Runi she did it

Zoey left next to become a doctor

Sparky stayed at their house, but he got a hose installed etc etc. there

Then Zoey and Sparky both joined SW :] Runi didnt though, but years later he joined the new generation team

About their house, they had a base-like house on a mountain (like Dizzy's base in season 2) It's not used as a living space now since all of them left but they still go there for reunions etc.

Runi and Zoey are good with cooking, Dizzy and Sparky are good with baking

Whenever they bring someone they're dating each of the family member has different reactions. Runi is chill, Dizzy stares at them constantly, Sparky is nice but also wary, Zoey will try to test them.

When they play Splatoon (they play it. actually majority of them play it. because i said so) Dizzy mains Dynamo, Zoey mains Glooga Dualies, Sparky mains Hydra, Runi mains Range Blaster. These mfs mastered slow weapons and theyre the best defenders

He doesn't let you do SHIT around the house and you've complained so much abt wanting to help but he would rather drop dead than change his stance. You're growing a human being with your body, that's what you need to focus on. He's constantly making sure you have everything you need and is checking in on you frequently. If you get morning sickness he's always at your side and making sure you at least try and stay hydrated and get some rest after being sick. He feels so bad about it sometimes cause he feels like it's his fault you're going through all of this but you remind him you agreed to it and you want this kid as much as he does so you're ready to do whatever it takes.

On top of basically babying you at home he's become damn near predatory about how he protects you out of the house. He's always got an arm around you and gets insanely antsy if you're around people he doesn't know. He's okay with the BO guys around you of course cause he knows they'd care for you just as much as he does but anyone else? They can keep their distance. That's the love of his life and his kid right there, he can't risk anything happening to either of you.

Whenever he gets free time he's laying with his head on your belly and you swear you've never seen him so relaxed. I wouldn't say he's the most talkative but he's definitely always pressing his hands against your belly to try and feel your baby moving around. It's unreal to him, he still doesn't feel like it's real truly.

When you actually go into labor the mf freaks out harder than you do cause fuck!!! This is actually really happening and it sucks you're in pain but he's also excited? And terrified? You two decided to not find out if it was a boy or girl till it got here cause you wanted it to be a surprise and Noah secretly wanted a boy but either way he's gonna cry like fucking crazy when it's finally here cause holy shit this is real!!! Again!!! He actually has a baby!! With his baby!!! He's so proud of you for handling the experience so well and also so grateful you gave him a new love of his life :(((

He's the best dad ever. He takes your baby to shows (with hearing protection on ofc) cause he can't stand being away for that long and now he has 2 people to perform for that are his whole world. That at least shows that he’s not completely brainwashed by Izana and Tenjiku though. There is definitely some of that childhood friend that Takemichi grew up with still left in there.

That aside, rest of the episode was fire, I think the best Tokyo Revengers episode ever tbh. Takemichi punching the shit out of that loser Kisaki was so satisfying. Been waiting on that for ages. He’s so soft when he doesn’t have a gun or goons to do his bidding for him.

Mad respect to Takemichi for standing up to Izana as well. Even if he can’t fight, his tenacity and determination hit as hard as any punch. Can motivate an entire group of people just by refusing to quit. Even Izana was shaken and taken back to Shinichiro’s speech. Funny how both Izana and Mikey see so much of their older brother in Takemichi

Speaking of Mikey, what an entrance. Didn’t even have to say a word, his presence was just felt. Damn didn’t expect Hina to be the one to tell Drakken and Mikey about Takemichi’s secret lmao. But I guess there was no other way to get Mikey out of that slump. Kisaki’s plan to demoralise them would’ve been a success had Takemichi not accidentally told Hina who in turn told the others, thus changing the future. I wonder how that’ll work out going forward now that they know everything Takemichi does is for their own best interests

Mansion Blueprints

I was playing Minecraft and it lead me down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out the blueprints of the mansion and where every room was located,

I def got things wrong ik in some routes it tells the player what directions certain rooms are located

I’ve made edits as i go through the game files for info.

But here’s my best attempt at architecture theory:

The mansion is kinda big lmao

There has to be about 3-4 floors given the window placement. I forgor to add the final stairs mbad

Every floor has very long halls to each room.

The parlor/living room could be on the left room on the first floor, with the three arched windows. However, it has a high concave ceiling (i’m so sorry i spelt it wrong).

 Another possible location is the same place but on the second floor. The windows don’t match due to the railings on the outside (it could be the balcony/dining area). The parlor may also be hidden in the back of the house.

Leon:

First floor, right hallway with the 2 arch window placement.

Teorus:

Similar to others, his room could very much be in the back as well. The only front facing window is on the 4th floor to match the big ‘square’ window in his room. Teo’s room is at a perspective, which could make the window look more flat.

Scorpio:

Looking at Scorpio’s fire pit made me realize there are 6 chimneys throughout the entire mansion.

The three arched windows follow along with the left side of the mansion, however the window pattern matches the right side windows more. Scorpio’s room could be on the second floor, but there’s still the issue of the railing on the second story windows.

EDIT: In the game, Scorpios room is upstairs (third to the right). In theory he could be above leon.

Dui:

None of the windows match the weird panel structure his windows have. They look like they’re made out of bricks. The 4th story, left room is the closest thing I can draw to with the spacing between the windows. Also Dui has the best room imo, its clean, its simple, it has plants.

Huedhaut:

There’s a structure hidden behind one of the chimneys LMAO. It has the giant glass top similar to an observatory. I would assume this is an example of a room in the back, also on the fourth floor to the left. There’s probably interior staircases/hallways to travel through.

Also why is Huedhaut called the wisest man in the heavens when his room is a pool right next to a bookshelf please

Ichthys:

mf lives in the bikini bottom

Ichthys’s room is still accessible through the hallway as seen throughout the game.

In a crack theory, Ichthy’s and Huedhaut’s room might be connected through the water ways through some sort of magic decoration system.

This idea is flawed though because the water in Hue’s room is a pool, not an open body of water like Ichthys’s.

Conclusion:

The mansion might just follow non-euclidean geometry and it takes up whatever dimensions it needs for supernatural beings. The king might have just connected a bunch of portals to doors and hoped for the best, which makes sense bcuz after the season 1 gods get their sin absolved, they still go to their ‘rooms’ in the heavens.

I feel like it takes a while for the general populous to warm up to Zuko as Firelord and that’s mainly because of the last 100 years + his fathers reign didn’t really do anything to help the situation but he later becomes the people’s firelord and that’s with the help of his wife he drags him to charity events and with the backing of team avatar.

Now, Zuko was raised around politics but there’s a period about 5-10 years within his rule where he staunchly disagrees with his advisors mainly because they’re still brainwashed and under the spell that Ozai started with “restoring the fire nation to its former glory.” He later ends up just starting over and picking a new cabinet making sure to have at least one representative from each nation to chime in for rebuilding efforts.

Let me tell you though Zuko hates celebrations for himself and his achievements but when it’s his wife’s birthday and don’t get me started on their children. It’s like a national holiday the parties for them are magnificent.

As far as how powerful he is? Behind every great man is a far greater woman. A lot of his plans he runs by his wife before taking it to the advisors because she just knows that they’ll peddle him bullshit and depending on the day Zuko will agree so he can leave but she’s here to shut that shit down.

Now I know we joke that Izumi, the twins, and baby boy are spoiled. But I’d like to think that Zuko does take the time to bring them up as humble as possible and that’s thanks to Iroh having a big part of raising him and when they were settled in the earth kingdom for a bit. -🧚🏽‍♀️

HEAVY ON THE STARTING NEW PART . he got fed tf up with those old dudes who cared not about the country, but power and Zuko was like “fuck this shit, these mfs are UNFIXABLE.” (😂) he fired everyone after the first years of his reign because they actually began to like piss him off . Except two, which are my OCs Midjair and Indy, who were both apart of Ozai’s secretary and Zuko ranked them both up to major advisors . At first they were so traumatized from Ozai’s serving time and had some of his ideologies engraved in their head . but eventually they both showed that they were fixable and so Zuko kept them .

He’s so hellbent on making sure everyone has a say in how things run between countries and within the Fire Nation itself . I feel like he would also renovate a good portion of the castle just to make it look less depressing and intimidating .

He absolutely despises his own birthdays, like everyone including his wife will like beg him to allow them to throw a party or something for him . she’s trying to loosen him up some because he’s such a hard ass it’s basically impossible to gesture him into having some type of fun . BUT FOR THEM, oh the whole nation is going to hear about it, you should’ve seen Izumi’s sweet 16, they had to plan it a year in advance because she’s so extra like her mom . Their birthdays or him and his wife’s anniversary will be like week long events the whole country is celebrating, including endless amounts of gifts and cards, etc .

And of course Zuko would have to run down over major decisions he makes with the advisors, because as politics is mainly still a male predominant occupation, he needs an intelligent women’s opinion to make sure all side sound fair and just . And if those men ever try to convince her that her opinion is wrong in any type of way , oh she WILL shut they ass down before they can utter another word . Zuko knows it’s best if you never try his wife like that . LMAO

The kids are definitely spoiled like they just so happened to born in the right family because they get almost any and everything they can ask for . But zuko will always be quick to teach them that life is beyond anything more than material possessions and wants and needs, he will take them on visits to hang out with iroh just so they can get a slice of his wisdom . Because it’s important that they learn all factors of life before they have to guide themselves on their own journey . (🥹)

At the end of the day, Zuko will always be regarded as one of the best looking Firelord history has seen for a while . And even in times of doubt his family will always be quick to reassure him that he’s doing great and they all love him .

Like kerry being the one specifically approaching greg about bridget, the "logan's friend, assistant, and advisor" line, and then tom talking to logan but then the camera focus on bridget in the background and right after that he calls kerry? The many reminders that kerry is sleeping with logan but also suddenly a reminder about greg's gay dad?? And then tomgreg being so close talking about sexual encounters like WHY do you wanna know the details so much tom?? And greg not being able to admit that he cum, which means he definitely didn't, and then when greg confessed it to logan he made it sound like bridget was the one who jumped him by being eager and under the influence lmao tom immediately talking shit about bridget and then greg also disapproving of her behavior when she tells them she asked logan for a selfie ashffjfkgll I can't, the fact he didn't even know her last name and admits to tom that she's just 'another name in the list' but tells kerry and colin that he's fond of her? the spoiler is in the dream that reader has of her “mother’s” death which she explains to anri!! that’s actually HER death and the man is otoya 😰 basically in actual japanese history there’s this one battle where the opposing general almost certainly would’ve beaten nobunaga’s forces but he mysteriously dies before he can reach there?? so in hollyhock the explanation is that reader sends otoya to do it…he’s initially very reluctant as he doesn’t think he can do it but reader is very very paranoid and drunk on her power so she tells him he has to and eventually he’s like “ok 👍” and vanishes but he never returns?? this makes reader go INSANE she’s like convinced that he’s betrayed her until karasu tells her oh btw your enemy is dead…and then she’s like okay so where’s otoya then?? and karasu’s like bruh idfk 😭 so she’s lowkey spiraling because she thinks otoya’s plotting on her downfall (and otoya knows EVERYTHING about her so if he betrays it’ll be awful and she, karasu, and otoya all know it) anyways then in actual history nobunaga is betrayed by one of his retainer lords who sets his castle on fire and he commits suicide in his chambers so his body is never found by the enemies and uh. well. in hollyhock land there’s only one relevant retainer lord who swore allegiance to reader and that’s yukimiya 😓 they never got over reader ruining their plans and they believe that reader’s power should be theirs so it’s yuki who sets the mansion on fire and reader kills herself in her room…as she’s bleeding out she has a vision that otoya appears and embraces her (as the man in her dream embraced her “mother”) and she asks him why he left her but he doesn’t respond and she doesn’t argue, instead just telling him he’s not allowed to do so ever again and commanding (although it’s really more begging) him to die by her side 😔 it’s never outright stated (since we’re supposed to have reader’s twisted mindset) but heavily implied by the narrative, otoya’s characterization, and also karasu, that otoya died earlier assassinating that general, which goes against his earlier goals of just doing as he pleases because he loves reader enough that he’ll die doing as she commands and literally nothing BUT death could stop him from coming back to her 😩 anyways this isn’t written because the story ends with reader’s death but as a small consolation (??) in actual history hideyoshi (who karasu is based off of) kills the lord who betrayed nobunaga so karasu does get rid of yuki, thereby avenging reader, but then he’s the only one left which is sad ☹️

OKAY back to pokémon au LMAOAOA YESSS nagi has all of these creative strategies and he’s genuinely engaged whenever he’s battling reader meanwhile chigiri and reo are giggling to themselves because this is the only time they’ve seen him put effort into anything!! SEISHIRO NAGI WE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE…(a loser)

tbh i agree i also think that by making otoya and tullia romantic it also changes reader and karasu’s dynamic a bit?? idk how but it just somehow makes karasu seem like more of a love interest for some reason when he is explicitly meant to be a barou panel…def changes up the vibe of the group too so i do think we’ll have to hold off on ei/otullia (also their ship name isn’t good so that’s another sign…actually wait tullieita isn’t horrible maybe tullia’s name just has to be first in all of her ships) and yeah mc trio definitely pulls up a lot!! nagi more than the others for obvious reasons but all of them are def around much more than any characters aside from reader and co…the only reason i would hesitate to put tullia with reo is because i don’t want people being like “you always put reo with girls in your nagi fics because you hate gay people” or smth LMAOAO and tullia + chigiri give gossiping bestie vibes more than anything (you know every single reader and co + manshine trio link up is just them updating one another on the tea while reader and nagi battle) so lowkey tullisagi might be the play…tbh isagi is actually kind of relevant now that i have everything planned out so i could def have that brewing in the background!! especially because romance isn’t the main focus of the story so it’s not a big deal if it’s not front and center yk

i do trust kaneshiro more than gege i think the nel arc just isn’t as strong as some of the others!! but also you can’t expect every single arc to be 100% perfect honestly he’s doing great w what he has so i def appreciate him…i doubt he’d drop that much lore and then just do nothing (unless it’s a naruhaya situation where he’d make it very obvious what he’s planning) so i will be patient hehe

So I was contacted by my ex boyfriend from 2015, he’s now in prison (not sure why), but he was kool in my eyes, although he came with certain bullshit. Anywaysssss…..let’s get into this wild ass shit yo���🤦🏽‍♀️

The ex hit me on FB messenger tryna check the temperature and of course I was shocked to hear from him, being that his homie told me back in 2017, that ex boo got locked up again. Mind you when I met him, he let me know he just got home from a 5yr bid. How we met it was cute how he approached me, he was very respectful, fine af, tall and dark just how I like em😋. We exchanged numbers and went about our night, but of course he was on it…he texted me fast and wanted to get to know me, asked what neighborhood I was from. So boom…we chatting, he called and was like he wanna see me and allat good stuff. I gave him the addy of the next neighborhood over from mine. I never give people my addy off rip, tf I’m too street smart.

He finally hit me with a text saying he’s outside, I walked up with my sister and the vibes was right after interacting with dude.

Fast forwarding tho to when we got super kool and spending a lot of time with each other, I’m saying he was the perfect guy for me on top of money not being an issue. But as time passed, he would be slacking up on time spend and it was days I’d have to work or hang with friends, he wasn’t tryna hear that tho. He was on demon time and wasn’t tryna lose me, so he started coming back around after 2 weeks of straight no communication…I’m an Aries female so it’s easy for us to cut ties, no matter how bad it may hurt. He hit me saying he needs me and that we need to talk about us. We linked up same day, because I dead don’t play about my man LOL. Dude had crutches 🩼😩….he done got into some drama and ended in a shootout, he got hit in one of his legs, not sure what happened to the opps, but it made sense as to why he wasn’t reaching out as much, he lemme know he wanted to protect me, because it wasn’t safe. We had bomb sex all the time, so when 2 weeks of not having each other…we got to it on his bad leg and it was still fire 🔥 lol

The kind of person I am, if I got it to help I will help and do what I can. I ended up paying for his haircuts, food, got him a new phone just so he can back on the right path and tried to motivate him to stay out the streets and get a job, even paid for the rental.

Man this mf never returned me my deposit from the rental, I wasn’t tripping but yeah you gotta at least tell me what’s up! A month and a half went by and dude literally was ghost. Once again I didn’t stress it, I missed him but was low key tight, because I’m helping a person who not keeping it real! He ended up calling me from another phone number and telling me he didn’t call because he needed that money to help pay bills at his homie krib. Idgaf my nigga you gotta tell me that or I’ll lose respect for ya! Which I did, but me being 21 at the time, I wasn’t even tripping how I should’ve, but yeah. I was doing me and couldn’t even care anymore 😂 .

So present time he’s been locked up for 7yrs now, I’m chatting with him on JPay and accepting calls after he done put his mom on me to do a 3 way call. We started reminiscing, I let him know what’s new with me and that I moved and got a family now. Conversations was smooth, but of course I know guys talk a good one from the slammer lmao. After 2 weeks of conversing, he asks for a favor ( knew it was coming), wanting to know if I can put some bread up for a move so he can make more, he explained he needed to take care of his kids. So I asked him how many bms does he have knew, because he only had 2 when I was with him….this man says5🫤🫤🫤…I almost spit my drink out while we was on the phone, his energy did switch because he know I’m looking at him crazy in my head. He said can I cashapp somebody so they get this operation going, I did because I was like damn dude might really need help with whatever he’s dealing with. (The backstory from what he told me was crazy, sad, & wild). He thanked me for sending that kite, but also said money will be coming back to me and I said that’s kool too. I trusted him on last time although initially I didn’t want it paid back, but I’m not gonna say nah don’t give it back lol.

Mother’s Day week just passed and I was occupied with my family and he kept blowing my phone up collect call and of course im too busy to answer which I told him the weekend before. Tell me why he gave mad people my number and Facebook name to try to contact me to see if I’m good and I told them tell him yeah. Then shortly afrer his peoples saying “so and so said can you send the money to this cash tag $______”… I’m like what money (it’s my bread wtf). I just ignored them. Then he his mom comes texting saying I better send her son his money because she’s on a fixed income and he was recently transported to another prison (not really my problem, but I get it’s frustrating). I told that lady what it was, she was appauld. I had to block him and gotta stop having a good heart for ppl, especially ones who showed themselves in the beginning.

And yea, i think im just not a fan of unnecessary jealousy scenes, which was why i like your fic because even if some type of jealousy was present, it never took away much from willemmy's relationship building outside of it. I also agree with your point about will's potential, because i believe if only pd just gave him more on page time and development, he wouldve been an amazing character. He was so lost, and maybe his stagnant surrounding also amplified it, so why cant we see him doing something else that's opposite to what he had, that could later on add his growth or something? even his vacation and other good things he did before blackchurch took a backseat, they were only mentioned in passing, so we really dont know this "amazing will" that his friends saw, we were only just told about it. So we got the shitty version of him (especially the treating women like shit), and we were expected to like him and be like "oh will, so romantic!" "The best horsemen to treat his woman right" Like where?! 😒 Istg, this particular angle of Nightfall will was so similar to corrupt michael, its such a turn off: The same flaws of michael that i hated in corrupt, especially the almost to no development ON PAGE of misogynistic weak male characters who cant stand up for themselves and their woman then let others treat their women like shit in front of everybody, and pd even had the fucking audacity to write a scene where michael called emmy weak 🙄 (However, Was what michael was true? I think In a certain angle it is, because even emmy had acknowledged that there are somethings she didnt have courage to fight for then because of her situation, but she wasnt a coward in everything. Like hideaway michael learned later to stand up for rika and not let her always gight alone like in corrupt, and afterwards he put banks in her place, kai in fire night for that prank, damon for overcrossing his boundaries etc. at least we see growth, bare minimum but its still there. But nightfall will, oh god, fucking useless, why the fuck was he still around alex after all of that? We never even saw will telling her off to shut the fuck up and go mind her own business. We never even got a sorry from alex. Emmy was better than me because if alex was my friend, i wouldve cut her off from my life, but then emmy was kinda dumb to go back to will without making him apologize and fight for her more too so i guess being dumb is a general theme for this series.

For me personally, i also hate that these men can do whatever they want, but the readers just buy whatever they say, without actually thinking about what they just said and did. The two most laughable quote to me are from damon (others are all from michaelrika lmao) where he said in conclave and nightfall about how he thought hes best around women now and women only dont know how to fight if they were taught. Do i disagree with him? Not fully. But do i hate that Damon was the one to say this? Fuck yeah. I had to laugh because really, damon was suddenly the one to say this? Why is damon's partner someone like that??? Shes so stale! Okay, I was able to see the tiktok this time and I totally get what you’re saying. Will definitely used women to make himself more comfortable and Alex, if that’s who you were imagining when you saw this, shouldn’t feel any type of pride for having “bagged” him. The truth is, both Alex and Will are easy lays who require little to no effort to coax into bed. I mean, I think Will would be loyal to Em once they’re together, but outside of that Will has no guardrails to keep him from doing stupid stuff. Both he and Alex live in the gutter where that’s concerned.

Not sure which fic you’re talking about but I’m assuming it’s No Apologies since that deals with jealousy the most. It was a struggle for me to write because I never thought of Will as an openly jealous person, but again, I’m not any kind of authority on the character and as PD as proven time and again, I have sort of a glorified “but he’s actually better than this” view of him.

That being said, I did feel that he had no right to his jealousy in any way. So I had to (for myself) find a reason to justify it and it seemed the best course to make it about Em lying all the time. Lying about the abuse, lying about her feelings for him, lying about other men touching her, not admitting that she signed that paper even though he knew it was all a crock. She lied, seemingly to protect other people when she should have been worried about him, and that's what he's jealous over. It was the only way I could make it work, because I also don't see the point of a useless or misplaced jealousy plotline!!!

Yeah, exactly! I few asks ago I went off the rails about him because all these little things he does that aren’t really touched on and are sort of glossed over really paint a different picture of him than the one we see on the page. And had any of those traits been brought out more, he could have really shined.

I didn’t really piece this together right away but you’re right. Will during BC and Michael before the Big Twist are very similar. Willing to let their friends hurt the girl they “care about” because their revenge is more important and “it’s what they deserve,” only to find out that their involvement was nothing at all and shouldn’t even be considered. Really need to find a different plot here. Also, as you said, it’s weird that both Michael and Will took the same course of action. They’re two completely different characters, so shouldn’t they have reacted differently to learning of their girl’s “betrayal”?  I think I tend to be more forgiving towards Will’s anger (not to be confused with his treatment of Em, just his anger and ability to justify himself), because he loved to such an extreme extend of course he would hate her the same way. His emotions swing from one extreme to the other. Michael was always mean to Rika. His love and hate seem exactly the same to me. But anyway.

I'm not sure which I tend to think is more believable - Michael actually had a plan with calling Emmy weak, or Michael truly believed her to be weak because she didn't trust them and wanted to hurt her. You bring up an interesting (and frustrating) point, that I think is a lot bigger than this series. Yes, female characters should be able to defend themselves. But does that always have to be through physical violence? It’s annoying that every girl in this series falls in to that trap (except Winter? I can’t remember. Other than her speaking Damon into a sobbing mess, I don’t remember much about her big coming into power moment.). Like, female empowerment can come in so many different expressions. But for some, the physical violence is and coming out of humiliation seemingly unscathed a draw and I don’t begrudge them that.

I would have loved to see Will tell Alex to shut up just once. If PD was going to create a side to take between Alex and Em (even if for a moment), Will should have had to make a choice and he should have taken Em’s side. But instead we had Alex and Will standing together and Em meeting them where they're at. That’s worth a scream, I think.

Yes, since Will and Damon had the most to recover from, I think they should have been the last two in the series. However, Damon’s course to recovery and redemption is a little more predictable than Will’s. Which is why I will always stand by the idea that Damon’s book should have been the series finale and no one will ever change my mind. We should have gotten the chance to see a healthy or recovering Will. A Will at his best, because frankly… we have no idea what that would look like. And moving Damon’s redemption to the end of the series means that we can do a ten-year epilogue where Damon is a healthier version of himself where it didn’t seem like it happened overnight.

I think this probably where we differ the most, because I don’t mind this (that’s probably obvious from the stuff I’ve been posting lately), but only if there is eventually an equalizing of power. We do see that in DNs, it’s just done badly like most stuff in the series. Again, the potential was there. The bones are good. The overall idea is really fun. It’s the execution that trips up most readers, and that’s probably because there are so many other books that take on the same tropes and do something better to a varying degree. Either the revenge plot is better or the friendships are better or the FMC are preferrable. It’s understandable why this series isn’t everyone’s cup of tea when there’s nothing solely original about it. It just happened to combined enough of the things I like for me to discard the things I don’t (most of the time.)

Absolutely correct, and there was that other anon who mentioned diversity and how we couldn’t really expect PD to do extensive research about POC, so going off of that, Winter never stood a chance. I did like that at times she showed her abilities in both hearing sounds others couldn’t pick up and actually hearing the words people say, pulling out things other people would have passed over, but I also feel that PD used her blindness as an excuse for that and had it never occurred to them to make Winter blind, it would have just been another character that did those things because Plot Convenience.

But this does pose the question: what could PD have done with Winter to make her a believable blind character and make her blindness more apart of the story? Because of the action this series tends to lean towards, I always see Winter as a liability. She needs to be led everywhere; I never see her fight. But that assumption isn't really fair to actual blind individuals. What could have been done to make her a good rep?

I don’t know what you mean by family gatherer, but I do like that he’s the mood maker of the crew. People tend to gravitate towards him and trust him for whatever reason. He could have used that to his advantage if he were smarter. I also liked that Will was the only one with family that wasn’t included in the story. It’s clear that Damon has more siblings that just the two we met, but we don’t care about those because it’s so vague. Michael killed his brother, Kai has no siblings. Other than their parents, we know nothing about their extended family. But Will has two brothers, two cousins (one deceased), an uncle, ect. Like he has an actual family outside the group. I don’t know. It’s nice that PD expounded on some of that even though it’s not really relevant.

As for your last paragraph, thank you. I do have fun talking and trashing these characters because none of it really matters in the end, right. And I do try to create a space where people can sound off whatever things frustrated them, or things they liked about the series, without worrying they’ll be judged or laughed at for it. There’s no reason the fandom can’t be a place for people to enjoy, even if that means pointing out very real flaws with the material and still be heard.
