The morning sun filtered through the curtains of your father's small, cozy home, casting warm light across the room as you silently folded the last of your clothing into a worn leather bag.
Your father sat at the table in the dining room, watching you with a pensive expression, his hands resting on his lap. It had been a few days since you returned to Elysport, and in that time, he had treated you like the little girl he had lost so many years ago. Considering your relationship over the last few years, the affection he had shown you was more than you had expected.
“Are you sure you want to go? There might be another way to find out what happened to your mother.”
You paused, looking down at your packed bag before facing him. “Father I’m sure. There are things I need to know—about Mom. And I think this is the only way I will get any answers.”
He frowned, his brows furrowing. “Alright, but promise me something—promise me you’ll be safe.”
You nodded. “I promise,” you whispered.
He wrapped his arms around you in a tight hug. You didn't want to leave, not really. This small part of Elysport, your father’s home—it was a sanctuary compared to the madness of the ship you were about to return to. But you had made your choice and you knew that you couldn’t stay here forever.
“I’ll be back,” you said softly, “Soon.”
Your father smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes. “I’ll be here, waiting.”
With a final glance around the room, you hoisted your bag over your shoulder and headed for the door.
Making your way through the streets of Elysport gave you time to think about what going back to Gojou’s ship meant. And it meant diving headfirst into a world of chaos once again and having to face him after everything that had happened.
And you didn't like that idea.
The docks soon came into view and you could see the massive silhouette of Gojou’s ship towering above the rest. You hesitated as you stood at the pier's edge, watching crew members bustling about, preparing for the next leg of their journey.
Taking a deep breath, you squared your shoulders and began walking toward the gangplank. You found him near the helm overseeing his ship as he usually would. When he spotted you approaching, his eyes widened briefly before narrowing in that familiar way that made your stomach twist.
“Back already?”
You set your bag down, taking a deep breath before answering. “I told you I’d be back last night.”
Gojou’s eyes flickered with something you couldn’t quite place. He looked at you for a moment before shrugging and turning his attention back to the crew.
"Well, you're just in time. We're setting sail soon. Grab your things and get ready."
You waited for more—some snide comment, some half-hearted insult—but it never came. His voice lacked that usual bite and he avoided directly looking at you, which was strange in itself.
It was strange, this new version of him—one that didn’t bark orders or throw insults your way at every opportunity.
It was... comforting in a way.
Out of the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of something bright—a familiar tuft of pink hair. Yuuji was perched high in the crow's nest, his energy impossible to miss, even from afar.  He instantly noticed you, his face lighting up as he waved enthusiastically, calling your name across the deck. You couldn’t help but smile, a warmth spreading through you at the sight of him. His energy was infectious and his kindness was a rare comfort. You lifted your hand in return, waving back.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, you found yourself standing near the railing watching the waves lap against the side of the ship. You heard footsteps behind you and turned to see Captain Gojou approaching.
He leaned against the railing beside you, his gaze fixed on the horizon. For a long moment, neither of you spoke, the silence stretching between the two of you like a taught wire.
“You won’t ask why I let you back so easily?”
You glanced at him, surprised by the question. “I figured you just wanted to get rid of me as soon as possible,” you said, your words laced with a hint of bitterness.
Gojou chuckled, though there was no real humor in it. “Yeah, well... maybe I’m not as heartless as you think.”
You raised an eyebrow, not sure if you believed him. “Could’ve fooled me.”
He winced at that, and for a moment, you thought he might snap back at you, but instead, he just sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Look, I’m not good at this... at any of this. You want to hate me, I get that. Hell, maybe I deserve it. But I’m trying, alright?” His words caught you off guard, and for a moment, you didn’t know how to respond. The Gojou standing next to you wasn’t the arrogant, reckless captain you had grown accustomed to.
“I don’t hate you,” you said quietly. “But you make it really hard sometimes.”
Gojou let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. “Yeah, I’m good at that.” He paused, his expression softening. “But I meant what I said. You did good back there. And... I’m sorry for the way I’ve treated you.”
You couldn’t help but wonder if maybe the Gojou who you had kissed so desperately in that hotel room was not as far away as you thought. The waves lapped steadily against the ship’s hull, the sound calming as you stood in silence next to Gojou.
“About earlier,” he began. “When I left your room… I just—” He paused, seemingly frustrated, like he was trying to find the right words. “I didn’t mean to be such an ass.”
You blinked, surprised by the sudden confession. “You always mean to be an ass.”
“Maybe,” he admitted. “But not like that. Not this time.”
You turned to face him, fully leaning against the railing. The fading evening light casting shadows across his face, highlighting the sharp lines of his jaw and the pale strands of his hair that moved gently with the breeze. When you looked at him, you didn’t see the infamous captain you had grown to know—he looked… tired.
“It’s not like you to apologize. What’s going on?”
He frowned, his gaze dropping to the deck below, his hand absently drumming against the wooden railing. “I don’t know,” he admitted quietly. “It’s just… you’ve been different. This whole situation has been different.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean,” he began slowly, as if testing each word before saying it, “I don’t know why I keep pushing you away when I don’t want to.”
Your heart fluttered at his confession. He wasn’t the type to open up easily—especially about things like this. And for him to admit that he didn’t want to push you away… it was almost too much to process.
“But you do,” you pointed out, your voice barely above a whisper. “You push me away every chance you get.”
He let out a long sigh, his head dropping for a moment before he straightened, running a hand through his hair. “I know. It’s just… easier, I guess.” His gaze finally met yours, and the sincerity in his blue eyes was enough to take your breath away. “I’ve lost a lot of people. Crew, friends, family.” His voice grew quieter. “It’s easier not to get attached.”
“And me?” you asked softly, your voice barely above the sound of the waves. “Am I just another person to lose?”
Gojou hesitated, his gaze never leaving yours. “I don’t want you to be.”
This wasn’t just the arrogant, reckless captain speaking—this was Satoru, the man behind the mask. And the way he looked at you in that moment, like he was finally seeing you for the first time, sent a shiver down your spine.
Before you could say anything more, Gojou spoke again, his voice softer now, almost hesitant. “You’re really leaving your father for this?” he asked, his eyes flicking to your bag.
You nodded. “I need to know the truth about what happened to my mother. And… I need to find that treasure and be with the map.”
A shadow crossed his face at the mention of the map, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he turned his gaze back to the horizon, his jaw clenched tight. You knew he didn’t like talking about the map—it was the one thing that seemed to come between the two of you time and time again.
“I’ll take you back onboard. But I need you to understand something.” He turned to face you fully now, his expression serious. “This isn’t a game. Whatever you’re getting yourself into with Sukuna, it’s dangerous. It's more dangerous than you realize. I don’t trust him or whatever he is up to.”
Sukuna.
That must have been the man with the pink hair you were talking to in the marketplace. You didn’t expect Gojou to know who he was, or at least know him enough to have that look on his face.
“I know,” you said quietly, meeting his gaze. “But I have to do this.”
Then, slowly, Gojou nodded, as if finally accepting your decision. “Fine,” he said, his voice resigned. “But if anything happens, I’ll kill Sukuna myself.”
Without another word, Gojou turned and began walking back toward the ship, his usual swagger returning with each step. You followed, your heart pounding in your chest, the thought of what lay ahead heavy on your mind.
Tumblr media
Captain Gojou leaned against the ship's railing, gazing out at the ocean and the small port where they’d docked. The sun had dipped below the horizon, and workers from the docks were beginning to head home. His crew had grown restless after days without a break, so he’d ordered a stop at a quieter port for some shore leave. But he hadn’t been completely honest about why he gave the order—it was mostly for the map. He wanted a chance to study it carefully and had recently decided they would soon start the journey it promised, especially now that you had rejoined them. The treasure it led to was dangerous, and he knew he’d need a solid plan if he, you, and his crew were going to make it out alive.
After a moment of contemplation, he looked over his shoulder and spotted you coming up from below deck. He grinned, giving you a casual wave. “Looks like everyone’s scattered,” he said. “You wanna go for a walk?”
You raised an eyebrow. “Uh, sure. But what’s the reason?”
“Because I asked you nicely, Y/N.”
“Fine, I could use some fresh air anyway. Your ship’s unnaturally stuffy.”
Before the two of you departed the ship, Gojou made his way to his captain’s quarters to stow the map away safely. You assumed it was for security reasons, considering how much of a pain in the ass he’d been when trying to take it from you. After he returned, you both took off your shoes and walked down the gangplank together, stepping into the shallow water and heading down the beach toward the port town. Gojou’s ship was too large to fit in the small port, so he’d had to anchor it a little way off the coast. It was a bit of a hassle, but you didn’t mind.
You and Gojou had made it halfway down the beach before he broke the silence. "You know, I wasn't born a pirate."
You turned to him, surprised by his revelation. "Really? I wouldn't have guessed. Although, now that I think about it, you seem like a child who was spoiled far more than he should have been."
He gave a small shrug. "Pretty much. When I was a child, I ran away from home. I had met a young pirate, the same age as me, and he showed me another side of life. The place where I grew up felt like a prison and I wanted out."
"Oh. What happened?" you asked quietly.
"My family… my family had high expectations for me. They expected me to marry another girl from a rich family, a girl I had never met, a girl I didn't love. They expected me to be the head of the family when my father died and live up to the Gojou family legacy. When I couldn’t take it anymore, I left in the middle of the night. No one came looking, either.” His voice softened. “Guess they were happy to be rid of me.”
"Was it hard to live like that?"
"I stole for a little while, I had no name, no ship, and barely any money. After a few months to a year, I was able to make a living for myself and I never looked back."
“You never went back? Not even to see how your family is doing?”
"No, my father was a bastard and could have given two shits about how his own family felt about him. I actually spent some time living in Saltstone Port when I was eighteen, it wasn't too bad. You used to live there, right?"
Wait how did he know that?
"Anyway, we're almost there, do you wanna find a bar? Since you know, you like drinking."
“Who said I like drinking?”
“I did,” he said with a smirk.
And that's how the two of you found yourself in a dimly lit corner of a booth, ordering round after round as a way to “unwind” as Gojou said. Somehow, unwinding meant downing enough drinks to make the room spin.
“To—” He paused, squinting at you. “To us, and to making it through yet another day without you murdering me,” he toasted, raising his mug with a smirk. You clinked your glass against his as you sipped, feeling the warmth of the alcohol seep into your veins. As the alcohol loosened you up, you began telling Captain Gojou things you shouldn’t have, things you probably won’t remember in the morning.
As the night went on, the two of you began inching closer and closer to each other. At some point, he’d moved his arm around your shoulders, and you’d stopped noticing, letting yourself melt into his warmth.
“Y’know,” he slurred, eyes glassy as he looked at you. “I always thought I was fine alone.”
You tilted your head, blinking slowly as you tried to focus on his face, which kept swimming in and out of view. “That so?” you mumbled, giggling as you took another sip of your drink. “Thought you liked being all ‘mysterious and distant,’ Captain.”
“I… I dunno.”
Your heart did a funny little skip, and you glanced up at him, your gaze meeting his. “Maybe it’s the drinks talking,” he muttered.  “Or maybe it’s just…you make things… less lonely.”
Gojou,” you started, but before you could finish, he leaned in, his lips brushing your forehead in a clumsy, affectionate gesture.
“I like having you around,” he mumbled. His gaze flicked down to the empty glasses on the table. “But we should… get back to the ship, yeah?”
You could barely remember the journey back to the ship. When you made it back to his ship, you stumbled towards his captain’s quarters, exhausted from your night out. As you reached his bed, you tugged on your shirt, frowning. “Ugh, I can’t sleep in this. It’s filthy.” The fabric was sticky and wrinkled, and the thought of crawling into bed with it on was almost unbearable.
Gojou chuckled, leaning against the doorframe with a lopsided grin. “You’re a bit of a handful, you know that?”
Ignoring his teasing, you started to strip off your clothes, too tired and too drunk to care about modesty. You caught the faintest widening of his eyes before he quickly looked away, a strange sort of awkwardness flashing over his face.
“Better than being boring,” you retorted, your voice muffled as you ducked under the covers, the warmth of the bed wrapping around you. The soft linens felt heavenly, and you sank into them with a sigh, your eyes already drifting shut.
“Goodnight, Gojou,” you murmured, barely managing to keep your eyes open as you watched him from beneath half-closed lids.
“Goodnight,” he said softly. He hesitated, his hand resting on the doorframe for a moment longer, before he finally slipped out of the room, leaving you to the gentle lull of sleep.
Tumblr media
When morning came, the sunlight filtered softly through the small window. You stretched, blinking sleepily as you tried to make sense of your surroundings. The memory of the previous night came flooding back, and as you shifted beneath the covers, you became very aware that you were still bare under the blanket. You stifled a groan, recalling your insistence on sleeping without your filthy clothes, and your face flushed with embarrassment. At least Gojou had seemed too out of it to really care.
Quickly, you climbed out of bed, searching the room until you found your discarded clothes from the night before. You tugged them on hastily, smoothing out the wrinkles and trying to compose yourself as best you could.
You stepped out onto the deck, the salty morning air filling your lungs as you glanced around. You wanted to ask him something, and to ask him that something you needed to find him first. You managed to find him perched on a higher part of the deck. Noticing your footsteps, he turned around and before he could speak you opened your mouth first.
“I need a bath.”
The words left your mouth with a bluntness that surprised even you. You were covered in grime from the ship and smelled like salt from the sea, it made every inch of your skin itch for a proper soak. After days of being at sea, all you wanted to do was feel clean.
“Well, this place doesn’t exactly have the best facilities for that,” he said, surveying the streets. “But… I might know a spot.”
You tilted your head. “Not exactly helpful, Captain.”
“Follow me, then. It’s a bit of a walk, but if you’re willing, I’ll show you a river that’s a hell of a lot nicer than any of the baths in town.”
You and Gojou made your way out of the port city and through winding paths that eventually opened up to a dense forest just beyond the edge of town. Gojou was quiet as he guided you through the bush towards the spot, glancing back at you every now and then.
The two of you reached a clearing where the trees parted to reveal a serene river winding through the open land. The water sparkled underneath the sun, so crystal clear and inviting it nearly hurt to look at.
“Not bad, huh?” Gojou said, standing beside you.
“It’s… beautiful.”
Gojou shrugged, feigning indifference. “It’ll do the job. Go on.”
Your gaze looked to him as he leaned against a tree, arms crossed, watching you with a smirk. “What, you think I’m just going to strip down right here?” you teased.
“Not my fault if you can’t handle a little river bath. Besides, who’s gonna see?”
With a deep breath, you started to peel off your outer layers, feeling the rough fabric leave your skin before carefully folding it on a rock nearby. You kept your eyes trained on the river, trying to ignore that he was sneaking glances, but you secretly didn’t mind. You turned to meet his gaze before turning your back to him, realizing how close the two of you actually were.
Once you shimmied out of the rest of your clothes, you waded into the river, the chill of the water sending goosebumps through your body. You went deeper into the water, washing away the grime and heat of the day. When you turned back, you saw that Gojou hadn't moved from his spot; he simply watched from where he stood.
“You know, the water’s plenty big enough for two,” you called out to him, splashing in his direction with a grin. “Or are you too scared of a little cold?”
Something mischievous sparkled in his eyes. You think I’m scared of a little cold water?”
He began unbuckling his belt with a smirk, tugging his shirt over his head and dropping it onto the ground. His toned frame caught the sunlight, the faint scars scattered across his torso telling stories he rarely spoke of. “Let’s see who’ll be begging to get out first,” he teased.
Your eyes trailed down his body as he began walking into the water. When your eyes made it toward his pelvis before you had to stop yourself from going any lower, reminding yourself it was indecent.
“It's as warm as the sea,” you teased, floating on your back and letting the gentle current carry you.
“No, but it’s a hell of a lot quieter.”
The two of you were naked, but you didn’t seem to mind, and neither did he.
“So, where did you learn to be so comfortable in the water?” he asked, kicking lazily as he floated beside you.
“My father,” you replied, glancing up at the canopy of leaves overhead. “He used to bring me to rivers like this when I was a kid. Said it was the best way to wash away the world for a while.”
Gojou nodded thoughtfully, his eyes studying you. “Smart man.”
You chuckled, meeting his gaze again. “He is. Sometimes I wonder if I’m disappointing him by being… here.” You gestured around you. “Running off to play pirate with people that are hardly respectable.”
“You’re not disappointing anyone,” he murmured, the words so soft you almost missed them. “And, honestly, I think it’s brave. Not many would have the guts to do what you’ve done.”
“Thanks,” you said quietly.
Gojou continued to float nearby as sunlight filtered through the trees overhead. He didn't try to hide the way his eyes roamed over your body, and you could feel he was growing bolder by the minute.
"You know, you clean up real nice," he muttered, his voice lower than usual.
You let out a small chuckle, feeling your cheeks warm under his intense stare. "I could say the same for you."
Silence enveloped the two of you as he drifted closer, standing up when he got close to you. You were in a shallow part of the water, which made the water about waist height. It was unfortunate that it was the only thing that covered his lower half because it was see-through. His fingers came up to brush your arm, lingering for a moment too long, the feeling sending a shiver down your spine.
Without thinking, you closed the distance between you two, standing so close that you could feel his warm breath fan your face. His hand drifted to your waist, feeling the soft, plush skin before sliding his hand around your back as his other hand came up to trace along your jaw. When you leaned in, you found yourself tilting your head up, your lips parting instinctively.
The kiss was soft at first, testing the waters in a way the two of you had only done once before. But then the kiss deepened, his fingers tightening on your waist as if he was afraid to let go. You let yourself melt into him, your own hands finding their way to his broad shoulders as you traced the muscles there, losing yourself in the kiss.
Gojou shifted the two of you, pressing you gently against the smooth edge of a nearby rock. One hand braced himself beside you against the rock with the other made its way down your backside.
His lips trailed along your jawline, sending sparks throughout your body, and when he kissed you again, it was like he was claiming something he had not dared touch before.
The kiss slowed as both of you caught your breath, still tangled in each other's arms as you steadied yourselves. Gojou's lips hovered near yours, his expression filled with desire.
"Hey," he murmured, brushing a damp strand of hair from your face. “If you're up for it… we don’t have to stay out here." His fingers traced gentle circles against your back. “There’s places in town. Places a bit more... private.”
You felt your pulse quicken and your heart race at his suggestion. “Yeah... let’s go.”
Neither of you wasted another second. Hands fumbling, you slipped back into your clothes, laughter and shared glances filling the space between you. Gojou helped you fasten a few buttons that wouldn’t cooperate. Once dressed, the two of you scrambled over rocks and brush, the cool evening air sharp against your skin after your bath—but in the heat of the moment, you hardly noticed.
You made your way back the way you came, with Satoru practically dragging you through town, looking for somewhere that wouldn’t ask too many questions. The sky was now dark, and the nightlife of the port had begun. Finally, he stopped in front of a modest hotel along a quiet street, breathing heavily from his excitement.
“Here,” he said.
You both hurried inside, catching the attention of the older man at the front desk. His eyebrow lifted as he eyed the two of you, taking in your windswept appearance and the clear look of anticipation you both wore. He sighed, passing you a key with a knowing look. “Just… keep it down, eh?”
A mischievous laugh escaped Gojou as he snagged the key and tossed you a wink. “No promises."
The two of you dashed up the narrow staircase, careful not to trip in your haste. When you finally found the room, Gojou fumbled with the key, his hands practically trembling as he tried to unlock the door. You couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of him—a pirate captain, renowned for his cool composure, completely undone by anticipation.
“Need some help?" you teased, biting back a grin.
“Hey, keep that up and I might reconsider,” he shot back.
After fumbling with the key for a while, he finally managed to get it inside the lock and unlock the door. The room wasn't much, with only a small bed, a few chairs, and a vanity to decorate it, but it would do.
The two of you stumbled inside the room kissing fervently as he closed the door with his foot. You walked backward, leading him to the small bed in the center of the room.
“You're so beautiful to me,” he spoke in a hushed voice.
Your fingers reach up to his collar, gently pulling him down and pressing your lips to his in a passionate kiss. Nothing prevented you from him when your fingers began to work on the already half-undone buttons of his shirt with slow and deliberate movements.
You continued your path to the bed and before long you felt the back of your legs hit the bed and you fell backwards on the plush cushions. The desire was mutual, you could see it in his eyes, and there was an urgent need to be closer on a level beyond words. Satoru moved his hands up and down your sides, caressing the curve of your back and touching the delicate skin of your waist.
He broke the kiss before moving down to your bust, removing the layers of your clothing to reveal your supple breasts. His pupils were fully blown completely covering his cerulean eyes, wanting to submit to his carnal desires. He leaned down kissing you once more, feeling the slopes of your breasts pressed against his chest in your lip-locking exchange.
You sat up before flipping the two of you over so you could be on top, a wave of confidence overtaking you. You slowly kissed down his body before reaching his trousers and undoing the ties of his breeches. Before you knew it, you were crawling off of his lap and laying on your stomach between his legs.
To be completely honest, you had never pleasured yourself before, let alone a man.
Your eyes widened as you pulled off his breeches, releasing his aching member that revealed a size that was proportional to his height.
"Sweetheart—ngh! Don't tease me like that."
You looked up at him with those beautiful doe eyes he had dreamed about, and he thinks he somehow got harder.
"But what if I want to?"
"Ah fuck, please sweetheart? I'm so hard already," he whined.
"Um, I don't really know how to do this… so please forgive me."
You had a friend back in Elysport who was a courtesan for the wealthy, often having sex with married men for money. You never judged her, as she was a friend, but she had taught you a couple of things including how to give a man a hand job, but you had never thought you would need to use it, not in a situation like this with a man like him.
Satoru looked down at you, and awaiting your next move he decided to wrap a hand around his cock.
"Fuck sweetheart," he moaned. "You don't know how many times I dreamed of doing this with you."
Something inside you awakened when he said that—something bold, you decided to replace his hand with your mouth. His deep and guttural moans were enough to encourage you to keep going and take his entire length.
Your mouth is so warm and fuck babe was all you could hear him say. It gave you a confidence boost hearing his constant praise.
You continued until he suddenly tugged your hair, pulling you off his cock. Frowning, you looked at him wondering why he did that when he seemed to be enjoying it.
"Sorry, sweetheart, I was about to cum."
Disappointed you made your way back up his body, kissing him deeply once more. He flipped the two of you over so he was back on top, kissing your neck and feathering soft kisses around the bruised skin before moving down to your breasts. He alternated between both of them, giving them equal amounts of attention by biting and sucking at the flesh and biting at your nipple.
"S-Satoru," you moaned, arching your back to meet his chest, as he descended further and further own your body to where you needed him the most. On his way down, he muttered a "Lift your legs." before removing your soaked pair of panties that he threw somewhere in the room, not caring where they landed. He was quick to dive head-first into your sopping cunt, lapping at your entrance with his tongue, exploring your walls until you were softly moaning his name.
"Fuck you taste so sweet," you could hear his muffled voice from between your legs. He encircled his thumb on your sensitive bud before looking back at your slit, slightly spreading your lips apart to look at your weeping hole. He sat up, grabbing hold of his cock and rubbing it up and down your slit, teasing you to the point of tears.
"S-Satoru, Please!"
"Fuck. Good Girl," he muttered before sliding himself in.
“Ngh—! Y-You—aaah!” You could feel your body being dragged back and forth, your hips being jostled as he continued to sink himself into you.
He was insatiable, he couldn't get enough of the tightness of your cunt. He was moaning loudly from the feeling of your warm, velvet walls milking his cock. He continued to thrust inside you, sitting up with his hands on your hips, keeping you steady as he rammed his cock inside you.
"That's it, gotta stretch you out," he says. “You’re taking me so well,” he groans, burying his face in your neck.
"Satoru," you moan, your walls clenching around his length. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you pull him closer as you feel the ends of his soft hair.
He knows what he's doing, and you can feel that smirk he always has on his lips but surprisingly, he peppers kisses on your neck before he pulls away.
"Can you get on all fours?" he asks, halting his thrusts.
Wanting to please him, you quickly get on all fours and he immediately presses you back down onto the mattress. He lifts your ass as you arch your back even more. He palms the flesh of your ass in his hands before entering you once more.
You gasp, clutching the sheets in your small hands. When Satoru notices this he moves to interlock your fingers, pressing his chest against your back to pound into you.
"Satoru, ah—" you whine.
"I know, I know," he grunts. You can feel your walls tightening around his thick cock "Fuck—so good." you moan.
“Gonna make you cum so hard.”
His balls slapping against your ass feels euphoric, leaving you breathless and wanting to reach your orgasm. A couple of more thrusts against your g-spot bring you the most incredible orgasm.
“Fuck Sweetheart, I’m close.”
It takes a few more thrusts before his movements become erratic and you feel his cock twitch inside you. You feel his sweaty forehead drop against your shoulder as you both struggle to catch your breath. After a few moments, he lifts his head off your shoulder and moves to lie next to you. You flip yourself on your side, eyes focused on the ship's wooden panels as your chest heaves.
You feel Satoru shift next to you, pressing his chest to your back as he wraps his arms around you.
“Thank you, baby. Thank you.”

you were 6 when you were sent away to a girls school in manchester. your father, thomas shelby, had told you that ‘he couldn’t be a father’ and that he was ‘too busy to be burdened with a child’. you were now 18 and hadn’t seen your family since. the last time you had received a letter from your father was when you were 17 and it was to inform you about the birth of his son, charles shelby.
you were enraged. it was unfair that he saw charles as a blessing and you as a burden. that he could step up to be a father then but not 17 years ago. you had practically raised yourself for the last 12 years. every birthday you stole a cupcake from the canteen at the school and sung yourself happy birthday. every christmas you receive pitying looks from the nuns because you were one of the only children to stay in the four walls of your dormitory whilst all the other girls spent time with their families.
you had just finished your last year and was lucky enough to get a job straight out of straight out of school which allowed you to buy yourself a small flat. you sent a letter to your father to let him know that you were safe and you gave him your address although you never knew whether he received the letter because he never wrote back. until a week ago when he sent you a wedding invitation.
deciding to attend was the easiest decision. you knew you wanted to see him one last time before you ultimately cut all communication and moved on, knowing that there was no point in hoping he would acknowledge you as his daughter. you were however grateful that he paid for your education, even if he did abandon you for 12 years.
you used your savings to buy a new dress before getting the train to birmingham and paying for a taxi to the church. as you stood outside the venue you pondered on whether this was a good idea, but you knew you had to do this in order to accept that you were alone in this world. you sat at the back with your head down for the entirety of the ceremony. you didn’t even put your head up to see the bride. as selfish as it sounded, you didn’t care for the wedding and you did not care about their happiness.
when the ceremony was finished, you stood outside of the church with a cigarette in your hand whilst your ‘family’ took photos. next to you, a gentleman was doing the same thing. he was also glaring at the family and you wondered what his issue was.
“what did they do to you?” you scoffed.
“huh?” he raised his brow
“if looks could kill, they’d be slaughtered by now” you joked.
“i just don’t like the groom” he shrugged.
“me neither” you agreed. “y/n” you reached your hand out to shake his.
“alfie” he reciprocated. “so why don’t you like him?” he asked.
“im his daughter” you nonchalantly replied.
“never new tom had a daughter”
“yeah he seems to forget aswell” you shrugged.
“what’s that supposed to mean?” he asked.
“it means he shipped me away for 12 years whilst he fucked off and had a family” you smiled. “fancy giving me a lift to this reception?” you linked his arm.
“absolutely. i think we will get along just fine” he grunted. and you smiled at him.
you both walked to his car and he held the door open for you. “didn’t take you for a gentleman” you bantered.
“is it the cockney accent that gave you that impression?” he wondered. which made you laugh.
“i suppose so” you climbed into the passenger seat and he climbed into the drivers. he started the car and drove towards what you were guessing was your fathers house, not that you’d ever been there.
“so tell me about the relationship with your father y/n” he delved straight in.
“wow you waste no time” you scoffed. “well he impregnated my mother, she died during childbirth, he lazily raised me for 6 years before telling me he couldn’t be a father and shipped me off to boarding school in manchester for 12 years and didn’t visit me once” you shrugged. it didn’t bother you anymore. you have accepted that even though he’s your dad, he’s never really been your father. he never tucked you into bed and read you a bedtime story, he never looked after you when you were ill, he never threatened your first date when he came to the door, he never took you for your first alcoholic drink and he will never walk you down the aisle at your wedding. and even though sometimes you just really need your father to tell you everything is going to be ok, you have been alone for 12 years and managed. you can go the rest of your life.
“oh. daddy issues then?” he tried to banter which made you laugh.
“you could say so yes” you replied.
“so if he’s such a shit dad why did you come to the wedding?” he pondered.
“i need closure. after this we will never ever speak again. all form of communication will be cut off.” you said with confidence.
“fair enough” alfie replied. he felt bad for the girl. she had never had a parent in her life. she had been neglected. and he could tell that even though she gave off the impression that she wasn’t bothered by it, he knew she was hurt deep down. so he left it at that.
for the rest of the drive you spoke about all sorts. your job, where you live, his job and where he lives. it was nice. and when your ‘fathers’ house came into view, you were in shock.
“are you fucking kidding me?” you whispered under your breathe. you don’t know why it was the house that made your heart drop, but it was a reminder that you were unwanted. that your father had abandoned you and started a new family that he lived with and looked after in the ridiculously large fucking house. and then came the lump in your throat.
“you ok?” alfie asked. he could tell that she was not.
you took a deep breath. “yes” you nodded and got out of the car. all the guests started showing up at the same time. you waited for alfie to get out of the car before you went in. he linked arms with you and you both walked in.
the first thing you saw was a stair case with large portraits of the family of three. it made you laugh.
“arrogant arseholes” you whispered to alfie which made him laugh. and it was then that you really looked at them. there was a portrait of what you’re guessing is your father, his new wife and his child. that was the first time you saw mrs grace shelby and charles shelby. and as bad as it sounds, you resented them. you resented grace for not encouraging your father to get to know you which sounds stupid and irrational but you couldn’t help it. you knew logically that it’s not your fault that the relationship between you and your father was none existent. it was his. and you resented charles for having the father you needed and wanted. that was supposed to be you. and again it’s irrational because he’s a child and it’s not his fault but you just felt so angry. so you looked away.
a waiter passed by with a tray of champagne and took a flute and chugged it. this concerned alfie. he didn’t want you to get drunk and say something to your ‘family’ that you would later regret.
“go easy” he sternly told you.
you glared at him.
from the other side of the room, john and arthur had noticed you.
“who is that linking arms with alfie?” arthur asked john.
“i think it might be y/n” john squinted.
“y/n y/n, as in tommy daughter y/n?” arthur responded.
“yeah, kind of looks like ‘er” john smiled.
“well why the fuck has she got her arm around alfie soloman’s” arthur said angrily.
“i don’t know, he’s like 15 years older than her” john looked confused. before tommy came up behind them. “need you in the kitchen now” tommy demanded.
“did you know y/n is here?” john asked him.
“who?” tommy asked
“your daughter, y/n” said arthur.
“what? where?” tommy looked around before he saw you.
“why the fuck is she linking alfie, and why is she downing champagne? she’s a child” tommy asked.
“that’s what we were wondering. and tommy she’s not a child, she’s like 18 now isn’t she?” john asked.
just as tommy hummed, he made eye contact with you and it was you who looked away as soon as it happened. he truly saw you for the first time in 12 years. you were a woman now. he couldn’t help but notice how beautiful you were. you looked like the spitting image of your mother with your y/e/c coloured eyes and your soft y/h/c coloured hair. and all of a sudden he had a wave of guilt come over him. he knew he’d been a shitty father towards you, but he never really thought about it until that moment. he felt like shit and so he did what he does best and walked away.
on the other side of the room, you had just made eye contact with your father for the first time in 12 years. you had seen him in the papers so you knew he hadn’t really changed. but making eye contact felt so awkward for you. this was the man whose dna you shared and yet you felt no father-daughter connection with him. you just felt hurt. and so you chugged another flute of champagne. to which alfie’s concern grew even more.
the announcement was made that there was food in the other room as they asked everyone to move there.
you and alfie made your way to the table. you sat next to eachother. you looked around and saw your great aunt pol sat opposite you.
“is that you y/n?” she smiled.
“hello” you suddenly felt shy.
“hello darling” she replied. sat next to her was ada.
“how have you been y/n?” she asked.
“good, i graduated school”
“oh brilliant, do you work?” pol asked
“yes, i have a secretary job working at a factory and i’m a barmaid on the weekends”
“why two jobs?” ada asked
“moneys tight, have to be able to pay the bills on my flat”
“tom doesn’t give you money?” she responded
“why would he?” you asked.
“because you’re his daughter” ada said to which you shrugged. this conversation made pol and ada sad. they realised they truly knew nothing about you and your life. they also knew that tommy hadn’t been the best to you, but again, it didn’t dawn on them how neglectful they had also been.
“you recently turned 18 didn’t you?” pol asked.
“yes”
“did you do anything for your birthday?” she asked.
“not really. just went to work, went to the bakery on the way back home and bought a cupcake and went to bed” you shrugged. that was your routine of 12 years.
“you didn’t celebrate with friends?” they asked
“don’t have any” your shrugged.
“what about school friends?”
“well they all knew eachother because their parents were friends so they would see eachother outside of school” and this made pol and ada feel even worse, you truly were alone.
“well i’m sorry we didn’t come and see you, we were just so busy preparing the wedding” ada smiled.
“it’s ok, i didn’t expect anyone to”
arthur got up from his seat to do the best man speech.
“hello everyone, before you eat i just want to say a few words as best man. my brother tommy met grace in 1919, obviously at that point we didn’t know she was a spy from the parish” at this, you looked up to the top of the table for the first time to see arthur and john for the first time, and then you looked towards your dad. he had an uncomfortable face on him, obviously not expected arthur to bring such a thing up in his speech.
you chugged another flute of champagne. and now, alfie, pol and ada all grew concern for you.
“-anyway, enough about that. these two were destined for eachother. if tom can forgive her for it then it shows how much he loves her. tom doesn’t really love anyone besides grace and charles” and at this, your father looked in your direction to see you chugging another flute of champagne. your 4th in the space of an hour. his eyebrow raised.
“-they are the perfect family. tommy, grace and charles. when grace was pregnant with charles you should have seen tommy. constantly talking about how this is all he’s ever wanted. he was bouncing of the walls” a lump formed in your throat. because he already had a child. you.
ada and pol looked in your direction to see your head facing down and you picking at your nails. a nervous habit you have.
“when charles was born, you couldn’t get the smile off tommys face for weeks. it’s obvious he loves his little family. it didn’t take long for tommy to finally start taking days off work for once to take grace and charles on days out. i remember the first time tommy took a week off to take charles away in the caravan.”
you could feel your heart beat speeding up and tears forming in your eyes. and you sneakily tried to wipe them away. but alfie noticed. and he placed his hand on your shoulder and squeezed it.
“i remember the dark circles under his eyes when charles had a cold and wouldn’t settle and tommy had been up with him all night”
your dad looked in your direction to see you wiping a tear off you face and put your head up. and he saw the disappointment in your eyes. and he was disappointed in himself. he knew then that he hadn’t been a father towards you. he can’t remember a single night where he stayed up with you as a child and helped settle you. it was mostly ada and pol who raised you for them 6 years.
“grace. we love you, you came into tommys life and made it better. you gave him something to live for, a child” at this you stood up and walked out of the room. at this it dawned on all the family what had happened. arthur hadn’t realised how big he was fucking up until your shoes clacked against the floor as you speed walked out of the room. “shit” tom whispered. grace looked very confused as to what was happening. alfie stood up and went after you.
he found you sat on a step with your head in your hands. he quietly sat next to you and out his hand on your back and rubbed it. neither of you said anything and you just sat there and cried for the first time in 4 years.
a minute later, tommy came out. alfie glared at him. “go away mate” he whispered gesturing to you crying.
“i want to speak to my daughter privately” tommy demanded.
“haven’t you done enough. why now?” alfie asked him as he got up of the step.
“please” tommy pleaded. he looked desperate.
“don’t say anything stupid” alfie warned as he walked back into the other room. tommy sat next to you. you still had your face in your hands and he could just hear you sniffling. it broke his heart.
“im sorry y/n i know i haven’t been the best father” you scoffed.
“you’ve not been a father at all” you muffled from behind your hands.
“i know” he nodded.
“i haven’t been there for you at all. especially in the last 12 years. but i want to start” he tried to put his hand on your shoulder but you shrugged it off. and pulled your face away from you hands.
“it’s too late. i’ve managed on my own for 12 years i can do it for the rest of my life” you turned to him.
“everyone needs someone y/n, trust me. i didn’t know it until i met grace” he sincerely said.
“maybe. but i’m fine without you in my life.”
“you don’t mean that” tommy shook his head.
“i really do. i have my own flat, a job and food in my cupboards. i don’t need you. i will never forgive you. you abandoned me for years. you neglected me. i spent twelve years in the same institute. christmas’s and half terms included. i was stuck in a building with people who would hit, kick and spit on me whenever i did the slightest thing wrong. i spent my 18th birthday being brutally raped by 3 men on my way home from the fucking bakery. i had to nurse myself back to health whenever i was ill. you weren’t there. you don’t need to be here now.” you shouted.
“y/n i- i don’t even know what to say. i overheard you talking to pol and you never mentioned that that’s what happened” you shook your head.
“its not really dinner talk is it.”
“i swear i will hunt those men down and make them hurt” he had a determined look on his face.
“too late. it’s already happened. they’ve already told me that if i tell anyone they’ll come after me” you shrugged.
“they won’t touch you, i’ll protect you”
“for how long? two weeks before you decide i’m too much of a burden again” you shook your head.
“you remember that?” he asked
“what? you telling me that i’m a burden? you don’t just forget your parent telling you that. sticks with you”
“i am so sorry y/n”
“yeah well i’ll get over it. coming to this wedding was a fucking mistake.” you sighed
“why did you come?” he asked.
“i wanted to see my family one last time before i cut all communication. not that any of yous care”
“come with me y/n” he got up and gestured for me to follow.
“why?” you questioned
“just come with me” he started walking so you followed.
you came to a stop infront of a door. he opened it and gestured for you to come inside.
you entered and quickly realised this was his office. “why are we in here?”
he walked towards his desk and grabbed a picture that was stood on it and held it out to you. it was a picture taken on your graduation. you looked up at him confused
“i had your school send a copy to me. i always asked for updates on how you were doing at school. i have every school report in my draw. i always cared about you. i was just terrible at showing it. and i always thought it was too late to try and be your father so i avoided you. which was wrong. but seeing you today reminded me that i don’t want to have regrets in life. i don’t want to be an old man on my death bed and wondering where my own daughter is. i know i cant expect you to just accepted me as your father. but i would really like you to come over for dinner one day. and meet grace and charles properly?” he asked.
“i don’t know. i don’t feel like they would want me here” you shook your head. with tears still rolling down your face.
“trust me, they do. grace has wanted to meet you for years. she was the one who encouraged me to invite you to the wedding. she really wanted family here. and you are family y/n. i know you feel wronged by all of us, and i understand why. but i want to make it better. please, give me a chance” he pleaded.
“okay.”

The women in asoiaf and their desire to find safety, to make safety, in a world that doesn't empower them to keep themselves safe, in a world oh so cruel to women. In a world that tells them its the men's job to keep them safe.
When she was done, Drogo was frowning. "This is the way of war. These women are our slaves now, to do with as we please."
"It pleases me to hold them safe," Dany said, wondering if she had dared too much. "If your warriors would mount these women, let them take them gently and keep them for wives. Give them places in the khalasar and let them bear you sons." - Dany VII, AGOT
"The time for that is past, my lady," Mirri said. "All I can do now is ease the dark road before him, so he might ride painless to the night lands. He will be gone by morning."
Her words were a knife through Dany's breast. What had she ever done to make the gods so cruel? She had finally found a safe place, had finally tasted love and hope. She was finally going home. And now to lose it all … "No," she pleaded. "Save him, and I will free you, I swear it. You must know a way … some magic, some …" - Dany VIII, AGOT
Again the shouting began. Catelyn sat despairing. She had come so close, she thought. They had almost listened, almost … but the moment was gone. There would be no peace, no chance to heal, no safety. - Catelyn XI, AGOT
Sometimes men went to sleep safe in their beds and were found dead in the morning, all burnt up. Arya didn't really believe that, and anyhow it had all happened a long time ago. Hot Pie was being silly; it wouldn't be ghosts at Harrenhal, it would be knights. Arya could reveal herself to Lady Whent, and the knights would escort her home and keep her safe. That was what knights did; they kept you safe, especially women. Maybe Lady Whent would even help the crying girl. - Arya IV, ACOK
She flew along the river walk, past the small kitchen, and through the pig yard, her hurried footsteps lost beneath the squealing of the hogs in their pens. Home, she thought, home, he is going to take me home, he'll keep me safe, my Florian. The songs about Florian and Jonquil were her very favorites. Florian was homely too, though not so old. - Sansa II, ACOK
He was going to take me home, she thought as they dug the old man's hole. There were too many dead to bury them all, but Yoren at least must have a grave, Arya had insisted. He was going to bring me safe to Winterfell, he promised. Part of her wanted to cry. The other part wanted to kick him. - Arya V, ACOK
"I could keep you safe," he rasped. "They're all afraid of me. No one would hurt you again, or I'd kill them." He yanked her closer, and for a moment she thought he meant to kiss her. He was too strong to fight. She closed her eyes, wanting it to be over, but nothing happened. "Still can't bear to look, can you?" she heard him say. He gave her arm a hard wrench, pulling her around and shoving her down onto the bed. "I'll have that song. Florian and Jonquil, you said." His dagger was out, poised at her throat. "Sing, little bird. Sing for your little life." - Sansa VII, ACOK
"I never knew my mother," Brienne said. "My father had ladies . . . a different lady every year, but . . ."
"Those were no ladies," Catelyn said. "As hard as birth can be, Brienne, what comes after is even harder. At times I feel as though I am being torn apart. Would that there were five of me, one for each child, so I might keep them all safe."
"And who would keep you safe, my lady?"
Her smile was wan and tired. "Why, the men of my House. Or so my lady mother taught me. My lord father, my brother, my uncle, my husband, they will keep me safe . . . but while they are away from me, I suppose you must fill their place, Brienne."- Catelyn VI, ACOK
"I am sorry for all the trouble I put you to," she said, "but I have no need of boats and ships now."
"But it's all to see you safe."
"I will be safe in Highgarden. Willas will keep me safe." - Sansa II, ASOS
"We thank you for your hospitality, my lord," Robb replied. Edmure echoed him, along with the Greatjon, Ser Marq Piper, and the others. They drank his wine and ate his bread and butter. Catelyn tasted the wine and nibbled at some bread, and felt much the better for it. Now we should be safe, she thought. - Catelyn VI, ASOS
I was going to take you home! Her dragons sensed her fury. Viserion roared, and smoke rose grey from his snout. Drogon beat the air with black wings, and Rhaegal twisted his head back and belched flame. I should say the word and burn the two of them. Was there no one she could trust, no one to keep her safe? "Are all the knights of Westeros so false as you two? Get out, before my dragons roast you both. What does roast liar smell like? As foul as Brown Ben's sewers? Go!" - Dany V, ASOS
"The only game. The game of thrones." He brushed back a strand of her hair. "You are old enough to know that your mother and I were more than friends. There was a time when Cat was all I wanted in this world. I dared to dream of the life we might make and the children she would give me . . . but she was a daughter of Riverrun, and Hoster Tully. Family, Duty, Honor, Sansa. Family, Duty, Honor meant I could never have her hand. But she gave me something finer, a gift a woman can give but once. How could I turn my back upon her daughter? In a better world, you might have been mine, not Eddard Stark's. My loyal loving daughter . . . Put Joffrey from your mind, sweetling. Dontos, Tyrion, all of them. They will never trouble you again. You are safe now, that's all that matters. You are safe with me, and sailing home." - Sansa V, ASOS
And there was one girl who took to following her, the village elder's daughter. She was of an age with Arya, but just a child; she cried if she skinned a knee, and carried a stupid cloth doll with her everywhere she went. The doll was made up to look like a man-at-arms, sort of, so the girl called him Ser Soldier and bragged how he kept her safe. "Go away," Arya told her half a hundred times. "Just leave me be." She wouldn't, though, so finally Arya took the doll away from her, ripped it open, and pulled the rag stuffing out of its belly with a finger. "Now he really looks like a soldier!" she said, before she threw the doll in a brook. After that the girl stopped pestering her, and Arya spent her days grooming Craven and Stranger or walking in the woods. Sometimes she would find a stick and practice her needlework, but then she would remember what had happened at the Twins and smash it against a tree until it broke. - Arya XII, ASOS
She thought wistfully of Highgarden with its courtyards and musicians, and the pleasure barges on the Mander; a far cry from this bleak shore. At least I am safe here. Joffrey is dead, he cannot hurt me anymore, and I am only a bastard girl now. Alayne Stone has no husband and no claim. And her aunt would soon be here as well. The long nightmare of King's Landing was behind her, and her mockery of a marriage as well. She could make herself a new home here, just as Petyr said. - Sansa VI, ASOS
Arya did not like the way they kept surprising her. The hooded man was tall, enveloped in a larger version of the black-and-white robe the girl was wearing. Beneath his cowl all she could see was the faint red glitter of candlelight reflecting off his eyes. "What place is this?" she asked him.
"A place of peace." His voice was gentle. "You are safe here. This is the House of Black and White, my child. Though you are young to seek the favor of the Many-Faced God." - Arya I, AFFC
And Littlefinger was no friend of hers. When Joff had her beaten, the Imp defended her, not Littlefinger. When the mob sought to rape her, the Hound carried her to safety, not Littlefinger. When the Lannisters wed her to Tyrion against her will, Ser Garlan the Gallant gave her comfort, not Littlefinger. Littlefinger never lifted so much as his little finger for her. - Sansa I, AFFC
"As he loved you." Dany stroked the girl's hair. "Say the word, my sweet, and I will send you from this awful place. I will find a ship somehow and send you home. To Naath."
"I would sooner stay with you. On Naath I'd be afraid. What if the slavers came again? I feel safe when I'm with you."
Safe. The word made Dany's eyes fill up with tears. "I want to keep you safe." Missandei was only a child. With her, she felt as if she could be a child too. "No one ever kept me safe when I was little. Well, Ser Willem did, but then he died, and Viserys … I want to protect you but … it is so hard. To be strong. I don't always know what I should do. I must know, though. I am all they have. I am the queen … the … the …" - Dany II, ADWD
Arya's struggle to find a safe place and slowly losing hope over the course of her journey of ever being safe, being unable to trust safety, disbelieving of the very idea that she would be safe.
Sansa's many suitors dangling her safety as a bait to lure her in, her hedging hope after hope on each of them to give her some safety.
Dany who is so desperately yearning for a safe place and person ALL HER LIFE, who has never been kept safe and wants so badly to keep others safe the way she should have been.
Catelyn who'd played by all the rules her society had taught her, every single rule to try to create safety, yet to be betrayed so horribly.
The unsaid promise, the social contract that women should not take up arms and in return they would be protected and kept safe by those around them. They kept their end of the bargain so well, been such good girls and women, and what do they get? That social contract broken in so many ways for all these women.
There is no reward for being a girl, no matter how many promises they make you.

'Goodbye-'
He heard it every morning when he woke up from his nightmares- at this piint dreams since he was met with the same dream every night, Rolling himself up right as the sun rose forcing his day to start. Heading down to the kitchen, both his salvation and his personal prison at this point.
" Come on Sanji!-"
You cried, pulling him along to the ship that would take the both of you away. His sister saving both your lives that day in giving you all the chance to run- to free yourself from this hellish place!-
Hidden beneath the rhythmic clatter of utensils and the sizzle of ingredients in the pan, Sanji's heart harbored a constant darkness non could see. His eyes, filled with fire and sparkle, also held a subtle emptiness that went unnoticed by his comrades- A smile on his lips as he served breakfast to them all.
Laughing along with their jokes, flirting with Nami as if only to do so to keep the endless cycle going. Cook, Flirt, Smile, Train- Repeat.
"You gotta learn how to flirt Sanji!" You yelled, Sanji shyly staring at you in question. The two of you in the hall of thr shit you'd jumped to, peeling potstos to avoid the verbal abuse of the adults.
"But why?"
"Cause you gotta get girls silly! Got to make a good impression" You exclaim, rather flamboyant in your remarks which made Sanji mutter shyly about his lack of skill.
"Here just do what I do-" You clear your throat, Before giving a dramatic fluttering of your eyes and reaching forward to touch the youthful adolescents chest flirtatiously making him blush and bat you away like a startled kitten. You laughing at his reaction.
Cleaning up he made his way out to the main deck, practicing kicks and other moves with his peers. Arguing with Zoro- but it just didn't feel the same as the arguments he used to have with you.. missing the way your voice strained and waved with the force.
Before smiling at Luffy and talking with his captain- continuing his hollow laughs and empty smiles. Not long before returning to the kitchens were he prepped.
Sanji rusing as he felt the spray of the sea, the ache in his body as he clammered over the sharp rock he was stuck on. Seeing Zeff, the pirate who had taken over their ship as he rushed to him in a fit of rage "Where are they!?" He yelled at Zeff his eyes still searching for you, the hardened pirate shining the bag of food into the child's arms.
"We are the only survivors!- Now take your half and go!"
Serving dinner, he couldn't find it in himself to eat. His mouth bitter at remembering the moldy bread and salty water.
In the quiet moments when the kitchen lights dimmed, and the crew retired to their bunks, Sanji faced the hollowness that clung to him like a persistent shadow- Like you were still there wrapping your arms around him and whispering his undeserving praises.
Shaking the feeling for a moment, he stepped from the now clean kitchen. The dark night air welcoming him as they always did, the only true thing he could remeber of your scent was the constant smell of the sea on your clothes.
Looking back, Sanji was sure Zeff could hear his anguished cried for you those first few nights. His voice fading into nothing after the third day of sobbing your name and begging for you to return to him.
He stood there, Leaning against the railing in the direction of the where he knew your marker was. The one he had planted all those years ago as the place were you had been dragged away under the sea just north of the Baratie.
Pulling out a cigarette he lit it taking a deep drag as he looked out at the dark sea before him. The one who had taken you from him- Thinking of your final words, in that kitchen area when you shoved him towards Zeff as the crashing waves overtook the ship you were both in.

Reading the cursed child (scorbus, norvelize version in a03). I read the script years ago when I was 11 (funfact it was the first harry potter book I've ever bought). So I'm rereading it again because I have a scorbus brainrot suddenly (11 y/o me shipped Scorpius and Rose so hard but now I grew up let just say my taste had change lmao).
List of thought gonna go longer as I read:
- yo Albus surly personality is basically me when I was 15 it was like looking into a mirror. Hold on there baby I understand you 😭
- I want to write a whole essay on Albus and Harry's relationship. They both are so precious but they just have a hard time with each other.
- Scorpius is the sunshine most sunshine cinnamon role ever. I would kill for him. I would die for him.
- ALL THOSE BULLY BETTER STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM MY OUTCASTS BABIES.
- “And be my good friend.” what if I die.
- why do people love to torture the cinnamon roll??? I want to hug Scorpio so bad like baby you deserve the moon and the sky and the world. And the fact that he's still trying to be so cheerful and optimistic. THE WORLD DOESN'T DESERVE HIM.
- Albus and Harry's father and son angst is killing me but it is also so delicious I relish in it (it's just so complicated I love it).
- "you’re kind, Scorpius. From the depths of your belly, to the tips of your fingers." Is the sweetest thing I've ever heard anyone said. I love this quote so much I want it tattooed on my forehead.
- Again, Scorpius deserve the fucking world.
- Scorpius and Draco's relationship is SO GOOD, SO PURE, SO SOFT. They love each other so much 😭
- brb I'm going to cry at the fact that Dark AU Ron and Hermione die in such a terrible way a few minutes after they finally confess their feelings (they were scared). 😭😭😭😭😭😭
- Snape is so dramatic. Girl "you're giving up your kingdom for Albus... All it takes is one person." he made it sound like they're in a romance fantasy novel (they are).
- Head empty. Scorpius happiest memory with Albus is strong enough for him to produce a patronus.
- Scorpius is once, again, a cutie pie that deserves everything.
- Delphi is more manipulative than I realized when I first read this lmao.
- GIRL the way Albus said that he and Scorpius ran away to start a new life in the muggle world as an excuse — what do you mean you're eloping at 14??? (Out of chronological order but I just remembered this)
- Delphi when I catch you —
- Never thought I'd be rooting for Draco and Harry duo yet here we are (did I say I love Draco as a dad?? I don't think he's appreciated enough. He's a brilliant dad! THIS is his best redemption arc).
- "What did you say to our son, Harry?" GO OFF QUEEN (Albus is a confirmed mommy boy)
- RON WANT TO MARRY HERMIONE AGAIN. I don't quite ship them in the book/movie but they're just the sweetest in here 😩😩
- I just had the sudden realisation that Scorbus might be the only couple that I ship in hp that is so close to canon (and was canonised by some play if I heard correctly).
- that time where they were in godric hollow and Scorpius was surprised that Albus never knew the full story of his grandparents or visited the place just bc he was being a petty, moody uninterested teenager hit so hard (he is me and I am him). And the shame he felt was real too. I always regret those years in my life where I acted like that and I don't even have a daddy issue like Al did, what's my bloody excuse lmao (I blame fucking hormones) 😩😭
- okay so finished it!! When I was a kid I don't quite like the time travel thingy and find it very confusing but I think it's because it's a screenplay yk, and it was meant to be watched not read. But the novel version did help a lot (and I give the author my hundreds of gratitude, her writing is absolutely beautiful! And she captured the characters perfectly! If you're scared to read The Cursed Child, read her novel version in ao3!!!).
I'm surprised that I actually love the plot more than I thought I would. Yeah it can get a bit unrealistic at times but all in all it's very entertaining and Albus and Scorpius are very well written, very rounded and nuanced characters that carry the book. I'm glad their parents didn't overshadow their personality etc (like them being mini-copies of Harry and Draco). They're their own person and I love that about them!!
They're not Drarry or even Jegulus as I've seen people say, they're in their own league. There are no enemies or hatred or tension between them; Scorpius and Albus genuinely like each other so much from the first they laid their eyes on each other and I adore them for it.
I read a theory that Albus was sent in Slytherin because he subconsciously wanted to be in a house with this kind boy met on the train and it made me want to cry (they were made for each other). (Although I do think Albus have many Slytherin traits, Scorpius I was less sure he screamed Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw to me but admittedly he can be cunning to).
So yeah, I don't think it's that bad as everyone said (and my 11 y/o self). It's fun and I actually cried a lot at the end of it (I have to watch Jily die, do you have any idea what that did to me???) (I don't even ship them but i swear this book set me to default back to canon).
I really want to watch the play, would die for it but it's impossible and I can only dream.xoxo

CHAPTER 1| RIVER OF GOLD |
The Lady | T.L x READER |
series masterlist | main masterlist
~ and if I was a child, did matter? If you got to wash your hands. ~
Tumblr media
“He scares me, just a little. Not a violent way I suppose but as if he knows everything about me, though he might if he paid for spies. I am to be his wife, never thought I’d lay with a Lannister and yet here I am. Father has forbade me from writing to Doran, he would be mad at me. Lannisters and us have had a bitter history, my sweet aunt lost at the cost of war but perhaps this would be my first taste of power. I would be his wife, I would hold the sword.”
Tumblr media
Grey, the skies were grey in the Westerlands. Black adorned every noble lord and lady's bodies as they stood by the falls. Five children stood as they mourned the death of their mother, along with many other houses who had only come to pay respects; out of obligation. Only five young bodies knew the truth of what had happened.
"Our princess took a terrible fall." the Maesters and handmaidens said, a truth laced with an ugly lie.
Our mother killed herself
The silk that wrapped the former princess's body held the further truth, if one peaked in they would see her bashed left cheek from the impact, a little lower they would see her crushed collar bone and even lower they would see blackened bruises from the fall. They would also see scars, yellowing bruises and fingerprints all over her skin, the testament to the brutality she had to suffer at the hand of her lord husband.
She was gone, and a candle that all five children held in the storm; blew out with her. The oldest boy Jeagir stood with his arm around his sister, you. Her hands rested on the shoulders of her two younger sisters Ellia and Nyela and their Maester Crasden, that stood next to them with an asleep toddler in his arms; the youngest Loren.
While the younger girls wept silently, their older siblings silently boiled in rage. All four children were handed torches as they walked to the four corners of the pyre their mother laid on, a Dornish priest went on with words that were muffled in the noble children's ears. While some remembered the screams from that night, some could only hear the crackling fire in their hands. In unison they lit the four corners of their mother's final rest. She would be safer now, nobody would hurt her now.
Your mother had written to you six moons ago, "Fly back to me, child." She had written. Her Martell uncles had managed to get her on a ship within the next day of the letter's arrival. The ship flung the banner of House Martell and delights filled the cargo of the ship for their dear sister.
"Give her my love." Doran Martell had said as he kissed the top his niece's head, a girl he had raised as his own for the past twelve years.
The morning you arrived to Lannisport, your receiver and long friend Fredrick also brought the doomed message.
"Princess Elina took a terrible fall."
One look at your mother's dead body and the guilt in your mother's handmaiden's eyes, the horrified sullen eyes of your sisters and the rage in your brothers eyes. You knew.
Your mother killed herself.
Lannisport was controlled by the most powerful family in the Westerlands, the Lannisters. More specifically Tywin Lannister. That man knew everything that went on in his lands and surely a Dornish ship with Martell sails entering his harbour was to be brought to his attention. He had ridden out that day, as he did every other day to visit Lannistown and the port. Mostly to set his own eyes upon the visitors from Dorne, he had taken extra guards as a welcome party.
He watched from high ground as the ship docked itself, five boats emerged from the ship. One with a golden pavilion shade, harbouring most likely a person of noble decent. He wondered if the Martells finally had come for his head, but out emerged a young lady at best in a pink Dornish dress, you.
His brother Kevan had rode down to the ports to enquire about the arriving party before riding back to his brother. Tywin watched as a man stood with the banner of his sworn house Maerilys, he watched as the man greeted you dressed in pink, then he watched you speak and for a moment all the colour drained from your face. It seemed as though everyone around you had frozen too, then he watched as your hand came up to your forehead, your lips widen as all the men and women that came with you hung their head low. A message came for him too, a rider rode out from Casterly Rock with the message.
"Princess Elina Martell of House Maerilys has passed."
Kevan too returned from the ports.
"That's Lord Maerilys's eldest daughter."
Tywin had arrived to Deep Den after the funeral, he had known Princess Elina personally having been a close companion to his late lady wife Joanna, the woman wasn't much older than him but he knew wits when he saw it, though he never liked the man she married. Lord Loren Maerilys, clearly named after his ancestor but Tywin knew that man held no kingly qualities. The house provided a good chuck of the Lannister fleet and armies, siege weapons and other labour personnel to Casterly Rock.
Lord Maerilys was a cruel man, the Mad King had his own reasons but Maerilys was another kind of evil, he flaunted his affairs in his lady wife's face, he beat her and humiliated her. Princess Elina on the other hand suffered through it all, many never understood why, she was Dornish. If she had written about the true brutality of her husband to her brothers. They would have landed an army right at her front gates to take her home. She never did, she suffered it all.
When you were born to the household, Lord Maerilys was not pleased, had it not been for his advisors and Maesters, he would have thrown your babbling form into the sea to wash off your existence, to another father you may have been a delight, a gorgeous little girl. But to your father, you were weakness, you couldn't carry their house's name.
Maester Crasden protected you as alittle girl as best he could, keeping you for longer lessons or away from your father's sight most times. However she you fell in the trap of your father's violence, instead of staying in your bedchambers one night as your mother's muffled wails rang through the halls, you hid a dagger stolen from the armoury in your skirts and walked into your parents chambers. Your little hands were ineffective, the blade you wielded ended up giving you a bigger cut than her father and a swollen bruise to her cheek from a backhanded slap.
"You insolent cunt! I could have your head for this." He screamed like a mad man as the little girl's glare never left him. That night her mother wrote to her brothers for help for the first time. She urged them to take her daughter, to raise her as their own with her nieces and nephews.
"Protect my girl, do not let her flame die." She had written.
Tywin had strayed from his riding party for a while, he rarely got to breathe in the country and the serenity of its views. He wanted to tarry a bit, as his riding party prepped for his arrival. The Old Lion had taken a guard along with him, surely he was learned enough to know that he was safe no where. There was a faint rush of water from the great falls in the mountains by Deep Den, the birds sang their songs as the air in the forest remained thick and humid, and Tywin walked through it all like he owned the forests. He had taken a long deep breath, closing his eyes as his head lifted upwards, allowing himself to unravel for just a moment. Though his moment of peace was interrupted by the whoosh of an arrow that nearly missed him and lodged itself onto the tree trunk behind him.
His guard drew their swords, at alert as Tywin sat strong on his horse. All of them looking around to find the source of the attack, a rustle in the bushes and most of them were prepared to fight. Until from the bushes and vines emerged your figure dressed in commoner rags, out of breath and sharp as you looked around before your eyes widened at the men with their swords out. You hands instinctively held tighter on your bow as your chest heaved, looking at all three men skeptically; until the armour they wore gave their true identity away. Lannisters.
You dropped the bow, raising your hands in defence. Gulping at the glare, the lord had fixated on you. If you weren't mistaken, you stood in the presence of Tywin Lannister. Comely and stern looking man.
"Forgive me, my lord. I thought you were a deer," you looked at him apprehensively, as you prayed to the gods, that this man knew nothing of your identity.
"Clearly not," He nodded at his men to sheath their steel.
Tywin didn't trust the girl, and the only way he knew that he would make out of these woods without killing you, was to take you with him. You were clean, too clean for a commoner. Your posture and nimble fingers, too relaxed to be an assassin. You looked familiar and yet he couldn't quite put a name to the face.
"Who are you girl?" Tywin commanded, his eyes capturing every detail of the sweet maiden before him. The velvet of your dress pointed that you were no mere peasant girl, though your unruly hair and mud over your hands would unlikely make you of noble birth.
"I am a kitchen wench, from the Den my lord," you tried to hold his gaze to not seem as if you were lying through your teeth. The lord gave you a grunt of answer before turning his horse around.
"Come along then. No girl like you should be out here alone." He ordered but you stood your ground
"Forgive me my lord, strange men offering escort in the middle of the woods, not exactly reliable," you made your case "I can find my own way home." With that you ran, abandoning your weapon. You ran through the very well known forests as the Lannister guards wandered deeper into the forest with no avail.
You huffed in exhaustion as you returned home, sweaty and covered in dirt. What was to be a trip to clear your head turned out to be a rat chase. The maids all looked scared for their Lady, for surely if Lord Maerilys saw his daughter in this condition, not only would he have your head but also the gaurds that were supposed to be escorting you.
"You must change, before your father sees you my lady." A man called out, Fredrick Serrert. When you had left the shore he was merely a boy but when he came to receive you, he stood a man grown at nearly six foot three.
Down in the Deep Den's hall, Lord Maerilys. A stubbed, and disgruntled old man greeted their liege lord. Both lord exchanged words of formality before Tywin walked himself to the rear gardens, where a burnt out pyre of ashes remained, still gusts of simmering smoke emitted from it. There laid Princess Elina, he still remembered her face, how young him and his betrothed were when his father had brought him along to their wedding. An elaborate affair, the Dornish princess was set to marry the older Maerilys brother, yet tragedy struck Daven Maerilys and her "condition" (the birth of your brother) left her in choice but to wed the younger brother Loren Maerilys instead.
"They say you look for a wife, Lord Tywin." Lord Maerilys asked, the old lion just nodded in reply.
"I have three. The older one just returned from Dorne, and my two younger one's are yet to bleed but should be of cause my lord." Tywin's face scrunched up in disgust, though his face looked away from Loren, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. Sure Tywin had imposed a marriage on his daughter, but sell out your daughters that young. Then out of the blue, it hit Tywin.
"Kitchen wench." He scoffed under his breath. He hadn't been outsmarted in a while but surely he was looking forward to meeting this Lady as he put a name to the familiar face. He remembered you from the docks
All the Maerilys kids poured out one by one. Olyvar came first, head held high and the spitting Dornish image of his mother, behind him trailed the two younger girls, Nyela and Ellia. They stood in a line as Tywin was introduced to them, he shook the oldest boy's hands and charmingly complimented the little girls on their hair. Then burst through the doors was another, your hurried feet found you standing next to your little sisters, with a toddler in your arms. You gracefully bowed.
"This is my eldest daughter." your father introduced you, every cursed word you could think of you used on yourself internally. You prayed that he would keep his mouth shut about earlier, and thank the gods he did.
"And who might this be?" Tywin gestured at the child wriggling in your arms, your sweet brother you had only seen painted palm prints off in your mother's correspondences
"Harolld Maerilys, my lord." you voice spoke up, a lot gentler then earlier, almost a whisper as you tried to not startle the child.
Tywin that night thought of the proposition Lord Maerilys put forth, there was something about this girl that just made you tick. Tywin wasn't a child that merely beauty would sway him, though you were quite a sight he had seen in a while, full lips, expressive eyes. There was something commanding about you, the way your eyes never left his, your head held high even admist all this sorrow. He saw a gain in this too, an alliance between Martells and Lannisters, you were important enough for them to send you home with Martell sails.
The next morning he made his wishes heard, he would court you for the week he was to reside at Deep Den, and leave with a bride by him.
You were having none of it, a screaming match broke out in the hall. As servants and soldiers turned a deaf ear to them yet again. You had nothing against this wedding but you refused to leave you little sisters behind at the hands of a monster.
"The girls will leave with me to Dorne!" You yelled over your father's voice
"You watch it girl, I could sell you and sisters for a lump sum and no one would bat an eye!" Your father threw back, menacingly nearing your proximity. However you weren't a child anymore, you stood your ground glaring up at your father. His hand shot forward, yanking your head up from the root of your hair making you yelp out in pain.
"Hurt me, go on. My uncles will cut your hands off if I tell them about this." your words were laced in venom and yet the truth. Doran Martell, was viciously protective over you and Oberyn, your sweet uncle Oberyn. You were his sunshine, though he may never see you more than just his little niece, your heart once yearned for more with your Uncle Oberyn. Many whispered at Sunspear that you had given your maidenhead to him and how you wished that were true.
"My lord." Maester Crasden's voice made Lord Maerilys push his angry daughter away, as tears threatened to roll down your face. You sat on the chair with your head on the table, rubbing the spot your father had held onto. Crasden came over, his fingers gently parting your hair to check for injury, you sweet lady would be fine.
"Marry him child." you scoffed at Crasden but he looked at you as if he wasn't finished, he sat down next to you.
"You would be the Lady of Casterly Rock, our liege lady," he cleared his throat before going on "you could order your sisters away to Dorne." His hand patted your cheek "You would hold power, I could not help your mother child. Let me help you."
The old maester's words had sunk deep within you as you began to ponder on the topic of your marriage and finally gave in, other than Tywin's cruelty on the battlefield and politics, there was no account of him ever imposing himself on women, you began to think of if you'd be safe and the only way to confirm your queries would be from the source itself.
You and Lord Tywin had found yourselves in your mothers gardens, you had called for him yourself and Tywin was curious to hear what you had to say.
"I realise how auspicious of a union this is, however I have questions and terms of my own before I agree to this." you kept your voice strong as you voiced yourr feelings on the matter.
"Go on then, my lady." Tywin walked past you to sit down.
"I truly hope that you know my disdain isn't toward you my lord, but merely a worry for my prospects." you stated as you sat down across from him, you didn't want to elaborate further, not wanting to slander your father in front of his liege lord.
"I am aware, my lady" Tywin's stress on the word made you look away. If your mother's troubles had been so known, how come none of these vast noble lords come to her aid.
"You needn't worry about me imposing myself on you" He suggested making you look at him, grateful and confused
"You would be well looked after and eventually sponsored for when the time came for your duties at Casterly Rock." He elaborated further.
"I knew your mother, I have a debt that still needs to be paid." The mere mention of your mother made the your eyes gloss over.
"And I would be safe?" There was a gentle crack to your voice.
"You would be safe." He reassured you, the green of his eyes glinting against the sun.
So it was setttled, Lady Maerilys was to wed Lord Tywin Lannister, ravens flew from Deep Den to Castley Rock, The Red Keep and to Sunspear. The news of this alliance spread through both families, both his children and the Martells were furious at about the wedding but it was done. A small affair at the Great Hall, you wore your mother's ivory dress that was fit to your sizing, that morning your mind nearly changed again as you tried to make a break for the ports but was stopped by Olyvar. If not for yourself then you performed her duties to protect her sisters.
"Father."
"Smith."
"Warrior."
"Mother."
"Maiden."
"Crone."
"Stranger."
"I am hers and she is mine."
"I am his and he is mine."
"From this day until my last day."
A chaste kiss between the two sealed this union. You were now Lady Lannister of Castley Rock, and hell was to pay if anyone tried to hurt you.

Heya! Can you do Dark Choco Cookie and Cotton Cookie child?
Tumblr media
So I originally misread Cotton as Cotton Candy (especially since not everyone includes the Cookie part of the name), and I’m not doing Dark Choco/Cotton, so Dark Choco/Cotton Candy it is
Anyways, this is Bubble Choco Cookie
So Bubble Choco here is somewhere in his teens, and he’s an avid poet. However he does not want anyone to read his poems, and will make sure you don’t touch his poetry journal. They’re mostly edgy or sad and they aren’t the best, but it’s how he expresses himself. He’ll just pull out his journal and pencil at random times and start writing
When he was younger, he used to be a lot more cheerful and bubbly, but as he entered his teen years, he started to act more rebellious and “dark”. He never quite gave up his fashion sense though, with his main changes just being that he wears some darker shades
He is also very fond of chocolate, specifically the aerated kind
Okay I’m gonna be honest, I don’t have much for him other than the poet angle. I just kind of decided to finally start drawing him
I also recognize that he has very little of Dark Choco in his character, as well as design, but that’s in part because of the way I envisioned this ship. For one thing, it’s in Ovenbreak so no Dark Cacao Kingdom here, Dark Choco probably just lives with Cotton Candy, and also, it’s a wholesome ship, their kid doesn’t need that much angst. And he’s a poet instead of a fighter, and if he doesn’t want to fight, I don’t see any reason for Dark Choco to teach him; Cotton Candy doesn’t seem to live in an area that requires much sword fighting or the like
Anyways, on to design stuff
So Bubble Choco is based on aerated chocolate, since it’s like a really light chocolate, and cotton candy is also light (I’m talking weight btw). Also, I’ve eaten this kind of chocolate before (I quite enjoy Aero bars), and I quite like it
I think another name I was considering was Air Choco, since it’s closer to the actual name of the ingredient, but Bubble Choco works better as a name
Aerated chocolate:
Tumblr media
So as I said earlier, I kind of made him for the sake of making him and doing more of these, so there wasn’t a super big amount of thought out into him. I do still like how he turned out though
All I really had to go on initially was the poet angle (I didn’t even reread my old notes), and I wasn’t really sure where to go with his personality until I started tweaking his expression. He was also originally going to be a girl but somewhere in development I decided “eh, why not have him be a boy?” and there you have it
I also knew I wanted him to have black poofy hair with things in it. It was originally more of a curved line in between the ends, but I changed it when I looked at Cotton Candy’s hair more. Though I kind of wish I had kept it now. There was also an old concept I mad ages ago that also had that hair, but it was longer. Don’t know why it’s this current length
After doing the hair, I wasn’t really sure what to do with the outfit, and I kind of just made something up as I went. He’s got the poofy ends of his jacket because of the whole “bubble” thing. I wanted to give him more poofy stuff
His colors are brown and light green become the Aero bars I usually see are regular chocolate (brown) and mint (light green). The pink was added to there’d be a little more color variation
As for the thing in his eye, it’s because of Cotton Candy’s heart eyes and me liking to put stuff in the eyes in place of that. Bubble Choco’s eye thing is supposed to be a sort of reference to Dark Choco with his star, though I didn’t bother to curve it out. And as I realize now, the eye I chose is also his missing eye and the star eye of the SoD. I’d like to claim that was intentional, but it wasn’t
And anyways yeah, there you have it. Bubble Choco. Don’t really have much else to say other than I hope you enjoyed him

I love you
Tumblr media
A/N: Thank you guys so much for answering my poll. 🙏 I hope you guys enjoy! 😊
Summary: As the Batch explores Pabu, you and Omega grow closer. Hunter thinks about new beginnings, and Omega reflects on her relationships.
Genre: More tooth-rotting fluffff, teensie bit of angst
Warnings: It’s another tear-jerker, Omega continually being absolutely adorable
Mando’a key: haran: hell
As the Marauder landed on the foreign planet, Omega grabbed your hand eagerly to be the first one out of the ship and into the new territory.
“C’mon Y/N!” She yelled as she pulled you with her. Phee walked close behind, chuckling at the child’s eagerness.
“I’m glad you’re excited, kid. You’re gonna love it.” Phee added with a half smile. She nodded at you and walked down the ramp first.
You examined the bright blue sky and heard the waves of water close by. You admired the architecture of the platform as you began to walk behind Phee with Omega’s hand in yours. You looked down at her and smiled, seeing her wide eyes filled with curiosity and wonder.
You and the batch continued to walk until you came upon a large tree. It was a magnificent sight, the tree towering over you in all its glory.
You noticed two individuals walking your way, a child and a tall man with his arms outstretched. You listened intently as the man introduced himself to be the Mayor and that the young girl was his daughter.
You smiled at the girl, who smiled back. Omega seemed quite fond of her and you could tell they would be good friends already. You felt a hand on your shoulder, you looked to your right to see Hunter grinning at you. You grinned back.
“What do you think?” You whispered to him. He sighed.
“I think this place is amazing, but I don’t really want to admit it yet.” He whispered back with a smirk as he nodded his head towards Phee. You nodded your head understanding what he was saying.
There have been way too many times when you’ve let your guard down and things have gone to haran. Hunter knew this and knew to be more cautious when in a new environment. So, even if this place seemed like paradise, keeping a look out until you knew for sure that it was safe was the plan for now.
The group seemed to split up as you were dragged by Omega to say hello to her new found friend and Hunter went to talk to the Mayor. And Tech found someone new, but it was of no surprise to you.
You could tell the first time Phee said, ‘brown eyes’ that she had the hots for him. Tech, well, he’s Tech. He probably has no clue she’s flirting, but he’ll catch on. Eventually.
You introduced yourself to the child, who you now knew was named Lyana. Omega continued to hold your hand which made Lyana curious as to what you were to her. She tilted her head and smiled.
“Are you her mother?” This made your eyes widen.
I mean sure, you were somewhat of a “motherly figure” to Omega. Being as you were the only female in the batch at the moment. But, never have you actually used the title. It’s not like Omega would call you mom on a regular basis. This was new. And you had no idea what to reply. You stood frozen.
That is until, Omega saved the day. She cleared her throat and smiled up at you.
“Yeah, she is.” You shook your head, getting out of your trance as you looked down at Omega with her wide smile and precious eyes. You were on the verge of tears, but held it in to prevent the embarrassment of crying in front of a child you just met. You nodded your head at said girl and she smiled.
“That’s wonderful!” Then her shoulders slumped ever so slightly. “You’re lucky Omega. I wish my mom was here.” You and Omega’s eyes were saddened. Omega looked up at you and pouted. You frowned and knelt down to Lyana’s level.
You placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, she looked up at you curiously.
“I don’t know the whole story, but I’m very sorry for your loss.” Lyana smiled gratefully.
“Thank you.” You stood up and Lyana composed herself. “My mother passed away a few years ago. But seeing you two together reminded me of her and how much I love her.” She grinned, you and Omega smiled back.
While this beautiful moment was happening. Hunter was having a little heart to heart with the Mayor.
“Pabu is a great place to rejuvenate, we also consider it a safe haven.” Hunter nodded his head along to what the Mayor was saying.
“Most of this island is composed of refugees, is it not?” The Mayor nodded his head.
“You are quite correct. The refugees have found this a safe place to raise their children as well.” He said, motioning his head towards you and Omega. “You and your wife would find that it is the perfect place for you to raise your child. A place where she can roam free without care. A place where she can actually be a child.” Hunter watched you and Omega.
He had longed for a place to settle down with you and Omega. A place where Omega could have a childhood, a place where you two could be together and raise her together.
Hunter was snapped out of his thoughts as the Mayor placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“From a father to a father,” he paused and smiled. “I believe this place will be perfect for your family.”
Hunter’s eyes widened slightly at his statement. Mostly because he hadn’t realized that was what you were to him. A family. Hunter never had that. He probably guessed the same went for you as well.
He looked at you and Omega again and smiled. Seeing Omega’s hand in yours, the smiles on both your faces. The love he could feel that you had for her, as if she was your own. The love that he had for the both of you, clarified how much he had dreamed for a place like this.
He turned to the Mayor and nodded his head.
“Thank you,” he paused. “I’ll take it into consideration.” The mayor smiled then walked towards the others.
“C’mon everyone, follow me.” Everyone followed the Mayor and later found out he was holding a big feast for your arrival.
During the feast, you couldn’t help but look at Omega fondly as she conversed with her new found friend. When she asked to go with Lyana on her boat, you were surprised Hunter allowed her to.
Being as though, he is very overprotective and cautious. You couldn’t help but be shocked that he agreed without hesitation. You looked at him with a raised brow. He looked at you and shrugged. You squinted your eyes and went back to eating.
Whilst this was happening, Omega was giddily following Lyana down to the shore below. She was beyond ecstatic that Hunter let her go have fun with her new friend.
As they sat admiring the island and the water around them, Omega’s mind wandered back to the previous conversation she had with Lyana and you.
Were you really her mom? She would love it if you were, and it seemed you would feel the same way. But, she wasn’t too sure. You hadn’t labeled it. Today was actually the first time she had called you that. But she did like the sound. Mom and you, just made sense in her head.
“You seem distracted,” Lyana commented, breaking the silence. Omega turned her head towards her. She sighed.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.” Lyana smiled.
“Is something wrong?” Omega immediately shook her head.
“No, I was just thinking.” Lyana nodded her head.
“You wanna talk about it?” Omega played with her fingers.
“Well, okay.” Lyana grinned. Omega scooted closer to her. She explained her situation and your relationship with her. Lyana nodded her head along. When Omega finished, Lyana pursed her lips.
“I don’t know much. But from my experience, the way she held you and looked at you, it seemed as though she saw you as her own.” Omega looked at her with wide eyes.
“Really? You saw all that?” Lyana giggled.
“Yeah. In fact, the way you described her sounds just like my mother.” Lyana frowned a bit. Omega noticed.
“I’m sorry.” Lyana shook her head.
“It’s alright,” she paused thinking for a moment. “I’d probably talk to her about it. If you're so worried. And maybe your dad too? I’m not exactly sure which one is your father. Is it the one with the tattoo on his face and the bandanna?” Omega giggled.
“Yeah, that’s a whole other problem too.” Lyana’s eyes widened.
“Really?” Omega nodded her head and sighed. Lyana hummed.
“Well, it’s just like I said. You should talk to them. I don’t know everything, but as your friend, I want to help.” Omega smiled gratefully.
“Thank you, that helped a lot,” she chuckled. “I guess I just needed to get it out and talk about it.” They laughed, but it was stopped abruptly as the boat jerked.
To say you were worried about Omega was an understatement. You tried to focus on helping the citizens of Pabu, but you couldn’t take your mind off of Omega being in danger. You were finally relieved when you saw her and Lyana wave from the Marauder.
As soon as the ship landed, you immediately ran over. Omega barely stepped off the ramp when you engulfed her in a hug. Omega was taken back, but right after wrapped her arms around you tightly. You pulled back and pointed your finger at her with a small glare.
“Don’t you dare scare me like that again.” Omega smiled and hugged you again. You held her head and sighed.
After the situation with the tidal wave, Hunter decided it was best to stay and help with repairs. Which you agreed with wholeheartedly. After their warm welcome, you couldn’t help but feel the urge to aid them.
As the day went by, you came to find that this place was indeed a paradise. Filled with kind and pleasant people. You couldn’t help but love Pabu.
As the day came to an end, you wiped the sweat off your forehead with the back of your hand with a sigh. You looked at everyone picking up remains, handing out food and blankets.
Though this place seemed utterly irredeemable, the people of Pabu had faith and hope for their home to be rebuilt. You smiled and dusted your hands off as you walked towards the batch.
Hunter noticed you first and smiled. He wrapped an arm around your shoulder and kissed your temple. You chuckled at his open use of PDA, which didn’t happen quite often. Not saying you didn’t love the sudden display, but you were a bit befuddled. You quirked a brow and smirked at him.
“What was that for?” He shrugged, then pulled you closer.
“Just felt like it,” he whispered in your ear, which sent shivers down your spine. You rolled your eyes and shook your head.
As you said your good nights to the rest of the squad, Hunter would not let you go. As you hugged Tech and Wrecker good night, Hunter stood on the side practically tapping his toe waiting for you to be done so he could have you in his arms again. You had no idea what made him change his demeanor, until it was Omega’s turn to say goodnight.
She ran up to you and engulfed you in a hug. You lifted her up and spun her around, she giggled and smiled. Hunter watched fondly, then kneeled in front of Omega with arms outstretched. Omega ran into them and wrapped her arms around Hunter’s neck, which he responded to accordingly by embracing her.
Omega pulled back and looked at you, she motioned for you to join. You rolled your eyes and joined them on the floor for a group hug.
“I love you.” You heard Omega whisper. She pulled away and smiled.
This was the first time Omega said those words. Not that she didn’t love you two before. She just didn’t have the knowledge of love in her naive brain. Hunter looked at you and smiled.
“We love you too, kid.” Hunter looked back at Omega and you nodded your head.
“Very much,” you emphasized.
Omega thought of bringing up her problem she discussed earlier with Lyana. Then remembered what Lyana said right before they thought they weren’t going to make it.
Your mother and father, I don’t think you need to worry about a label! If they love you, she paused, catching her breath. Then that’s enough!
Omega smiled thinking back to the moment. She could discuss this with you guys another time. For now, she just wanted to express how grateful she was to have you in her life.

prince!ji changmin x f!reader (slight juyeon x reader)
1.0k words, my emotional support royalty au, high-key historical au, lots of not-dialogue, literally i don't think swan song will ever fully see the light of day but i love it a little too much to keep her buried
a/n: this is serpent & dove's partner,, except i set the stage for a villain arc bc who doesn't love a villain arc
Tumblr media
The moment Ji Changmin stopped wishing to be a part of the family was the one wherein you made your debut into society. There were rules to the royal court, rules that Changmin had long since been schooled in. There were boxes he was placed within, boundaries he was not meant to cross, but there were few invisible, unspoken hierarchies that were always enforced that he had to pick out on his own.
He was only eighteen when he found your familiar eyes, shining in glazed-over discomfort, as you curtsied low at the top of the stairs and made your descent. An official had announced your arrival at the door, and he already spied the dance card dangling from your wrist.
Unspoken Rule One: Bastard children never got first pick.
The main ballroom of the palace was decorated immaculately for this year's debutante ball. Heavy silks embroidered in fine, gold thread were draped from the crystalline window panes; the chandeliers glistened with beads of light like fiery embers; the dance floor was polished and his suit was tight. He couldn't remember tying his tie on so tightly, but the way you looked tonight made him want to break form and loosen the grip of his collar around his neck.
He had never seen you in such tightly laced garb, and he had never seen you so nervous. You, Yn Ln, beloved middle child of the phoenix-represented Ln family—the phoenix a symbol of how generations of your family long ago had risen from the ashes of destitution to the mighty lordship of its current day and age. Your good name automatically thrust you into the limelight, whether you liked it or not.
You were eighteen years old, same as Changmin. You had asked your handmaiden to lace your corset up a little tighter, opting for the one that was made specifically for occasions such as these. It had not been your choice to don the dark, blood red brocade for tonight's festivities—it had been your mother's. You hadn't realized your family even cared to show off their middle child, but you supposed if they could ship you off as quickly as possible, it would be one less daughter to pay attention to.
Unspoken Rule Two: Daughters never got to choose.
It was difficult to not meet his eyes—the pair that you recognized so easily from the academy. The pair you often found yourself staring into as they laughed, as they pondered, as they brooded. He was beautiful, the kind of strength that wasn't brutish, but softer. He was a snake amongst wolves, perhaps the predator that no one ever saw coming.
Your dance card was empty, but his name seared itself into each slot, stealing away each dance like he had stolen a bit of you after all this time. (Or maybe all of you. You wouldn't have minded if that were the case.)
It wouldn't have been appropriate if he left his place from the dais first. It definitely would not have been appropriate if he had left the dais before every other girl was introduced. The room was full of chaperones and young men eyeing their prospects as they filed in, one by one.
(A room of hungry wolves encasing the pack of sheep who had waltzed in, bedazzled and smiling.)
You knew the game though, and you figured two negatives would have to make a positive. Right? That was how it could work. That was the loophole you and Changmin had concocted all those late nights spent in the academy library, tucked away in the corner of the myths and legends aisle, huddled together, conspiring a way to come out of this alive.
Not just alive, but together.
Unspoken Rule Three: Watch out for the wolves.
You were already on your way toward his side of the dais. The half prince was beautiful, but he was only second in line. He had half the blood of royalty; how many would seek him out first?
And there was a spike of hope in your heart. It singed through your glazed expression and made the corners of your cherry-stained lips turn upward in that sickening feeling of hope.
Eyes pinned to the other, you could see the glee in his own expression. It was going to work. This would work how you'd planned, how you'd hoped, how you'd schemed and mapped. You two knew the food chain better than anyone else—it simply had to.
But the room fell quiet as a form stepped before you, blocking your view of the second prince. He was just as beautiful as his half brother, the gold crown seated upon his raven locks a beacon of pride and power. He had kind eyes, a pair you weren't as familiar with, but knew well enough. His suit was tailored perfectly to his body, his smile gracious and almost shy.
"Lady Yn," Crown Prince Juyeon said to you as you dropped into a curtsey and he, a bow, "may I have the honor of stealing your first dance?"
The room was silent. You swore your heart beat thundered against the golden walls of the ballroom.
You couldn't say no. Not to the crown prince. Not in front of everyone.
Perhaps there were things you and Changmin hadn't taken into account.
Unspoken Rule Four: The Crown Prince always gets what he wants.
By some miracle, you found your voice and fitted your quivering, gloved hand into his. "Of course, Your Royal Highness. It would be my honor."
And as Prince Juyeon led you to the polished marble dance floor, you stole a glance behind you at the dais. The second prince stood frozen on his platform, his form never having broken. But in the split second you looked back at him, you couldn't mistake the flash of a promise in those dark eyes you'd fallen so deeply into all these years.
It was a promise… at least, that was what you had thought, as you plastered a smile on your face and let Juyeon lead you through dance after dance. But you should have known better than to think so little of Ji Changmin.

Been re-reading spy x family, which I'd apparently not touched in two years.
Not every shounen can be chainsaw man, but spy x family is still pretty good at holding consistent themes and executing strong tonal shifts. You'll never understand people's hearts, but you should accept that most people believe they're doing the right thing, regardless of how absurdly wrong it is to you. And that war sucks.
Yor's real job doesn't really fit the aesthetic/political vibe of the story. The assassin stuff tends to fall to the wayside as the series goes on, presumably because a) as the series trundles through terrorists and secret police and child-smackers with begrudgingly understandable motives, it gets harder to rationalize Yor's job as just murdering bad people when you know she's not smart enough to discern that for herself - she's literally just following orders - and b) can we be serious and acknowledge her interacting with other ladies leads to far more memorable moments? Melinda, her coworkers, especially that bitch Camila >>> fight-tournament-adjacent murder mission.
Yor is less developed as a character than I remembered. She's more like a sexy sidekick to Loid and Anya than she is a main character. Somehow her brother's background has more depth, which doesn't really make sense
like she's not bad, I like Yor, but after a while I kinda got why commenters became significantly more invested in the romantic development between a six year old and a girl who says shit like this
Tumblr media
27yo assassins who are still scared of kisses can only hold your attention for so long. The hivemind has progressed to shipping themselves with Loid instead.
it's good to read stories with a variety of active old people. The elderly are everywhere in here. I like this.
Soy x family is such a skilled comedy. it's like I'm watching a master brew their craft or something. 10,000 folded steel but except with reaction shots.
They're really dragging their heels in advancing the story. I stopped reading around the time Anya read Damian's mother's mind, which was over two years ago? And they still haven't explained wtf that freakfest was about??
Damian's brother appeared for two pages and I could hear autistic teen girls around the world twirling their hair. Whoever designed him knew what they were doing.
No seriously, star-crossed lovers war flashback between two minor characters? That's what they've been doing while I was gone? Explain mom yandere right now!

꒰ SOMETHING ABOUT U ꒱ ⋮ KAEYA ALBERICH → [ CONTENT & TAGS ]:fem!reader, references to canon divergent lores ( mixed with my ideas; nothing promising but i needed to get this months old idea out of brain so that i can focus on other activitis :">) , kaeya has obsessive behavior, angst, mention of prostituion, implicit smut. word count —2k // back to blog navigation. // beta read by my beloved ari @orchid3a . also tagging @kaelily <3.
synopsis:: “Beyond the sea, against the waves
where the sea and sky meet, where tides kiss the moon,
A protector shall be re-born, and Khaenri’ah will rise once again with retribution.”
Tumblr media
Many grave and galant eclipses and solstices have been witnessed by the mortals, humans lived and died but the protector did not return. A prophecy that was made years ago has now made it to the front page of the newspaper with the headline, “DID THE GODS GRANT MERCY TO THE KHAENRI’AHNS ?”
A year ago Kaeya Alberich would neither have believed in this prophecy nor would have sworn to pursue the veiled truth and call it ‘fate’. But now, his ship sails across the oceans with him sitting in his personal chamber holding a brown paper, reading the same article that was published a year ago while a girl sleeps in his bed.
His million moras haul, alive and breathing.
Kaeya settles at the edge of his bed swirling the wine in his goblet. With your eyes closed, bosom rising and falling at a slow steady speed he thinks you look like one of those sleeping fairies inside those nyctinastic flowers that he once saw in picture-book when he was a toddler; he accidentally stumbled upon it and saw the wonders that belonged to the out of the word, this word— a child sitting at one of the corners of the library, hiding from the Archon’s wrath, hiding and protecting, hiding and fearing. He is not someone to put faith in the Archons. He does not feel anything about the mocking existence of the Archons, neither rebel nor rage; nothing. Therefore, must he be the one to go against the waves and wind, against the sun and moon, against the gods?
But if Archons were to really exist as people claim, then perhaps it was the Archons' will when his eyes fell on you for the very first time, on that cold night, on that dead island under an enormous tree as you were lying half-clad, breathing but barely alive. While his home was swallowed by the oceans five hundred years ago with no trace at the bottom of the sea, there was you, a fragile creature taking the last of its breaths. He found you in the exact same place where once he breathed and lived in the air of Khaenri’ah. Kaeya does not believe in the Gods, but he does believe in ‘miracles’, and ‘chance encounters’. Now he is ready to believe in some years-old prophecy.
A flame flickering to live on still delivers light.
The winds were treacherous that night, they were not howling like other stormy nights Kaeya had endured. There was an uncanny smell in the winds of the island, a smell that he can neither remember nor recognize, the mixed smell of something greater, something divine— like ichor, blood and bones. He could hear something eccentric too; He knew the winds of the sea like a caterpillar knows its fate to become a butterfly. But this was different, a foreign feeling. It felt like the wind was whispering right into his ears. He has never felt so hollow before.
That was the first time he heard how hollow he was. It is like when someone was blows air through a hollow pipe so rapid, so full and so hollow that it is on the verge of breaking. Standing there in the dead of the night, with his crew busy at the shore decking the ship he could not separate between himself and those bullet shells that looted lives while his eyes glimmered at your corpse-like body in the pale moonlight, lips trembling and then curving into a crescent.
The clanking sound of bullet shells hitting the floor, the sound of blazing homes which once were made with love and care, the screams of the dying, and the smell of the dead— he remembers it all. It might have been five hundred years ago for others, but it was still fresh as a morning dew in his mind. He can not forget. Every time he sleeps, he dreams of destruction and every time he is awake he vows on vengeance.
“Woah! Careful there,” Last time when Kaeya was here you had been sleeping. You have been in and out of slumber for a week now. He helped to restore your balance as you tried to wake up and stacked a few pillows behind your back so that you sit at ease. You do not resist, do not have enough power to do so. The marks on your skin are slowly fading, your eyes are now much more expressive, lips and ankles devoid of any fine lines. The only scratch on your body is on your forehead, a star, and a half circle at the lower end of the star. It is very faint now but its there. It was raw and fresh at the night when he first laid you on his bed. It seemed like someone carved it with a knife but there was no dried blood along the scar or anywhere on your body.
Last month, precisely, a week ago, when Kaeya fetched a doctor for you from the port city of Mondstadt, Dorman, he did not mention anything about the scar. Even when he asked about it specifically, all he got was a laugh at its non-existence. But he can see it, clear as a day.
“You are doing a lot better than when I first saw you.” He admits as you finally look at him. “Are you hungry? Last night you did not eat much.” It has become a part of his routine now. Being there when you wake up, helping you, telling you stories, taking you out on the deck, watching you from afar when you are awake, and watching you up close when you are asleep. He is trying his best to help you to feel comfortable as much as possible so that you remember your origin, so that you remember your fate, so that you remember what the Archons did. But so far you have only talked minutely about your home and he did not make much of it.
“No. I do not feel hungry.” Your fidgeted with your fingers averting his gaze. Your attention falls on the dip created on the bed where he kept his hand to adjust the pillows. You gulp wetting your throat. “But I do feel thirsty.” You keep your hand beside his, an inch away. He looks at you, with sapphire-embedded eyes and then at the hands. His little finger shifts towards yours, slowly. You quickly pull your arm into your lap. “Do you think we can visit the port city today?” you ask hoping to divert his attention.
Last night he mentioned it and when you ask so eagerly so softly, his barren cold heart is set ablaze. You are now strong enough to pay attention to him. It makes him happy. Kaeya smiles looking at you before answering, “Of course we can. The others will take care of things at the ship and meanwhile we can visit the port.” He leaves the bed and walks towards the exit of his room. Before vanishing from your sight he states, “Get changed. I will be be the one to accompany you to the city today.”
You have been living in his room, breathing his air, sleeping in his bed, and wearing his clothes for a month since the day he rescued you. Traveling amongst the winds and the waves with you has not been entirely in vain either. Truth be told, Kaeya likes your presence. Today he is finally taking you out amongst the people and needless to say he is not leaving you out of his sight. He is walking behind you while you are in awe, admiring the surroundings.
You two stand at one of the shops as you ask about all the things and watch everything with such surprise in your eyes that it reminds him of himself when he was a child. He occasionally scans your surroundings, waves at the people he knows, and smiles at the girls he visited at the pleasure house. Those were some bright evenings he lived, enjoying the night at the pleasure house, fucking the girls till they fainted and disappearing into the sea at the break of dawn— the best he had of his life until . . . you walked into his peaceful luxurious life. He glances at you increasing the amount of distance between you two scooting to a side.
The crowd is slowly increasing and why would it not? Kaeya is here and word must have gotten around the town. He rarely visits port cities unless he has to collect hauls and buy some supplies in exchange for them. This was neither of them. This was a new thing. A news: ‘Lord Alberich is here with some maiden.’ It will draw attention more to him than to you. His smile fades away as he turns his head and does not see you. He asks the shopkeeper and he tells that you went towards the sea. shit.
The dusk is approaching and he should be in his room in his ship with you, not scouring the earth for you. Kaeya enters his room briskly with hundreds of thoughts running in his mind, wild and free. What if you are not here? What if someone recognized you? What if someone abducted you? What if . . .?
He sits on the chair with a thud seeing you on the bed with a new set of clothes, lying unconscious. He remembers buying you some clothes but not changing them. The clothes you had been wearing are neatly folded and kept on another bed. His eyes are still on you like a hawk watching its prey. “When did she get hear?” He asks as his breathing becomes even.
“About an hour ago, Lord Alberich.” one of the members of the crew answered. “She found her way back to here. We found her lying unconscious to the ground when we came to give the food.” Kaeya waves his hand at them asking them to leave. He pours some wine into his goblet and like always, sits at the edge of the bed but this time closer to your face.
He runs the back of his fingers along your cheeks murmuring to himself, “What am I gonna do with you… you are driving me insane, paranoid a bit.” He does not know your origin, your past nor your full name, nothing. Even though he is trying his best to give you the benefit of doubt, you keep thinning his faith on you every time.
He lifts up his head, his arm reflexively stretches towards the gun in the hostler. He presses and clicks open the safety lock and keeps the nozzle at your temple. Will you bleed blood or ichor if he hurt you? Will you lament or will you punish him if he hurt you? Are you here to kill him and his people? Or Are you here to help him and his people?
His fingers move over your forehead, over the marks. He is sure he is the only one who can see your forehead scar. So he takes a risk that he did not think of doing it, ever. Keeping his goblet aside, his index finger slipped underneath his eye patch, pushing it aside for it to remove. There is it, his suspicion is confirmed.
As the scar on her forehead glows and his right eye does not sting or hurt like it should his limbs give up and he lands on his knees beside the bed. There he sat and wept like a boy while his ‘fate’ lay in front of him. How can he not believe what he sees with his own two eyes?
So many questions yet answers to none. But he is aware of only one thing— that you are everything that he does not believe. An Archon. A deity. A bane to his existence. But he refuses to hurt you. He refuses to become the very thing he despises. He refuses to let it go in with just one shot and therefore, he must keep you, tame you, and protect you.
ik this has a lot of loopholes & might make this a multichaptered series but that depends on how well it will do :]

one
six years ago you were forced into a car, bags packed, crying because you wouldn’t be able to tell the man you loved you were carrying his child.
seventeen year old you had been so in love with nineteen year old eddie munson. he was the perfect man in your eyes. you knew if your parents found out you’d been dating eddie, they’d have a fit!
your parents raised you in a conservative household. they taught you how to be a lady. you dressed conservatively, studied every night, forced to be the perfect woman. they had even set you up to marry. your life was already set for you to be a housewife.
for so long you thought being a real woman was about. that is until you met eddie. he was the one that taught you their was more to life than what your parents taught you. eddie brought out the color in your life.
six months into your relationship you knew he was the one for you. you wasted no time giving yourself to him. that resulted in teen pregnancy. the first person you wanted to tell was eddie.
your parents were worried about you for a while. they started snooping in your room. when they found an positive pregnancy test in your bathroom, they were livid! you had no choice but to tell them the whole truth.
they packed all of their bags and decided to move away from hawkins. you didn’t get the chance to tell eddie about your pregnancy, nor tell him goodbye. you were devastated and heartbroken.
they shipped you off to some camp where teenage pregnant girls hide away from society while they wait to give birth to their child. you had no idea they still had these camps in this day and time.
when you gave birth your parents decided to adopt your beautiful baby girl and raise her as their own. they planned on going back to hawkins but knew people would put two and two together if they just suddenly appeared.
for two years you had to pretend like your daughter was your sister. you couldn’t stand lying to your child! she had every right to know who her mom really was.
you finally had enough when they wouldn’t allow your two year old to be a cheerful happy baby, forcing her to put back clothes because it brought ‘too much attention’
that night you called your nana and she was shocked to say the least. she picked the both of you up, you stayed with her for the next two years until you saved enough money to move back to hawkins.
you weren’t ashamed of yourself, let alone of your daughter. she was your entire world.
“thank you for helping me move back home nance.” you smiled at the girl who was your best friend before moving.
“of course! stevie and i miss you around here.”
“steve? i thought—”
“we both went to college and the long distance wasn’t working for him anymore. he broke things off because he met a girl there. steve and i reconnected right after.”
you hum understandably. “how’s that going?”
“great! i guess you haven’t noticed.” nancy turned and that’s when you spotted a tiny baby bump.
“oh wow! congratulations, nance!” you hug her carefully.
nancy laughs. “it’s our third.” she states.
“three?! god, i can barely handle one.”
nancy frowns.
you didn’t really mention you had a daughter of your own. you didn’t exactly know how to tell someone that when you haven’t spoken to them in over six years. you only just ran into her because she lives across the street from you.
“yeah—i have a kid of my own actually.”
“oh, wow! how old?”
“she’s gonna be six in two months. she’s really excited.”
“what’s her name?”
“kali may.”
“is she—” nancy asked.
you simply nod your head. nancy put her hands over her heart sadly. she simply hugs you gently.
when she pulls away you wipe your tears. “where is she now?”
“she won’t be here until tomorrow. she’s staying with my nana, currently. i wanted everything to be set up and done when she gets here. it’s her first time having a room to herself.” you state.
“i wanna see photos!”
you laugh as you bring her inside your home. you dig through a box labeled “kali munson’
“you gave her his last name?”
“i wanted him to be apart of her life despite not physically being there. i had to go through the legal process of changing her whole name but, it was worth it.”
nancy didn’t ask. she’d wait until you were ready to explained that to her. once you find some old photos of her, you showed nancy.
nancy awes at every single photo. from when kali was a baby to her five year old frame.
“god, you can just tell she’s sassy just like her father!”
you hum. “she’s definitely eddie’s kid! she loves heavy metal. her favorite band is dio. oh, and she loves dungeon and dragons! she still doesn’t understand the game just yet, but i showed her the series when she was just three. she’s obsessed with it! all she ever ask is to watch dungeon and dragons.”
nancy giggles.
the two of you remain silent for a little while before you finally spoke once more.
“my parents found the pregnancy test in my room,” you start. nancy puts the photos down. she gives you her whole divided attention.
“they asked me if it was real or some sick joke. when i told them i was actually pregnant, my mom cried her eyes out. my father yelled at me. he called me all different kinds of names, slut, whore, tramp, you name it. he said i was a disgrace to this family,” thinking back to that day brought back all the pain. your eyes began to water.
“after my father was done yelling, my mom asked the big question. who’s the father of my child. i froze up. i wasn’t ashamed of eddie, i was afraid what my father would do once he found out. my silence only made them think i was sleeping around. i told them it was eddie and my father went ballistic. he called my baby a cultist freak. i had never spoken to my parents the way i did that night. i told them they were controlling, manipulative, selfish assholes and id run away to eddie. that was my moms final straw. she never laid a hand on me until that night. next thing i know, im forced to pack my bags, move to a different state, and was sent to some camp for pregnant teens. i gave birth to my daughter there, my parents legally adopted her, and named her angel rose yln. she was raised to be my sister for two years. i couldn’t take it anymore so i called my grandmother, told her everything, and she came to pick us up. i changed her name to something i knew eddie would love, worked too many jobs to count, and bought this house. i want my baby girl to know her father. i want eddie and i—i want eddie and i to try and rekindle. i never stopped loving him nance.”
nancy cried with you as you finished your heartbreaking story. both you and eddie have been through a lot. she knew once you found out everything that happened to eddie, this will only break your heart even more. she hoped the two of you could work things out.
nancy is glad you’re back. truth is, eddie hasn’t been the same since you left. and after almost dying, the town turning against him, and his having ptsd over the last five years, she knew you both needed one another. maybe this will bring back the old playful eddie.
nancy grabs your hand. “he never stopped loving you either.” she whispers truthfully. you nod and hug her once more.
the two of you ended up giggling. “now, let’s get this place put together for you baby girl tomorrow, yeah?! im gonna go get steve and robin to help. they’ll be so happy to see you!” nancy was out the door before you could protest.
it felt like you never left.

Hi! I just discovered your page and I’m so in love! You’re an amazing writer <3. I’d like to request something. I’d like to see how everyone would react to finding out that Levi not only got someone pregnant but finding out she’s also black. They can be together or whatever, but that’s the general request! Love you ❤️

When Levi first opened the letter from Paradis, sent by Armin inviting himself, Falco, Gabi, and Onionkopun to a reunion of sorts, he froze.
He’d been kept so busy the past three years in Marley. So busy, he hadn’t wrote to his comrades about the personal happenings taking place in his life.
Not that he was one to indulge in personal topics, anyways, but still.
Now with his beautiful Ghana woman on his arm and bearing his child growing in her ever expanding belly, Levi realized just how little he’d let anyone aside from her into his new life.
Just how would they react, seeing this new chapter in their ex-Captain’s life, he thought?
He knew no ill will would come from them. It never had. But chancing to open up to someone other than her, about the one good thing to happen to him after the war?
He was nervous. More so than he’d liked to have admitted.
So he took a day to consider his response to the invitation. He counciled with his soon to be wife about how he should handle this.
But her over eager grin and constant reassurance that she’d love to meet the people he’d spent years living and fighting alongside, his decision was an easy one to make.
He sent a letter back to his young companions, thanking them for the invite and reassuring them all of their attendance to the gathering.
And at the end of the letter, with shaking a shaky hand gripping his pen, he wrote of someone he wanted-
No, needed-
Them to meet. Someone special to him.
Imagine the shock and surprise written on their faces when three days later they watch as Levi guides a very beautiful and very pregnant woman by the arm off the ship am onto their docs.
The grin on her face was so wide and so bright it nearly filled her whole face as she greeted each and every one of Levi’s old friends in turn.
They’d accepted her into the gathering easily, as thought she had been there since day one.
Please the amount of teasing and jokes Connie and Jean would throw an embarrassed Levi’s way at the sight of his woman’s obvious baby bump-
He’s be so proud but so flustered at the same time and just a MESS of emotions.
He’d watch on in contentment as Annie and Mikasa sat at a table with his girl, how tenderly they spoke to her about her pregnancy and what to expect as a first time mother, virtuous of Mikasa’s past experiences.
Annie was quick to offer any tips and tricks she’d seen from Mikasa and others around her to help the woman out, making her grin and laughs alongside their banter.
By the end of the visit, Levi’s left feeling full. Full of hope, of joy, of acceptance.
He realized then; he really did have a family after all. The one he was growing with his Ghana princess in Marley, and the one he’d left in Paradis all those years ago.
They’d always be available for him to come back to, and watching them all now, he knew his new family could forevermore do the very same.

The stars in their courses will run and bring their hearts earthward to hear her.
Buggy brings his son in to the bakery to get a treat for his birthday. You like decorating cakes. Rating: PG-13ish. Warning: Fast paced in a way. Six month time skip. Pregnancy. Buggy's a little insistent and sulky. Talk of child abandonment. A/N: Now that Birdie has a name I think of her a lot tbh.
Title comes from “Girl in the Garden” by S.J. Tucker.
Chapter 1 + Chapter 2 + Chapter 3 + Chapter 4 + Chapter 5 + Chapter 6
Chapter 4
Six months had passed by when he walked into the bakery. You grimaced when you saw him, shaking your head as he tried not to make eye contact, looking everywhere but at you. You didn’t remember his name after meeting him those few times, but he remembered you by the small smile he gave you as he placed an order for a cake.
“Who’s birthday is it?” You asked as you wrote down the order. “And what’s a name for pickup?”
“It’s for Darby’s birthday.” Cabaji said quickly; you looked up and raised an eyebrow.
“So, his half birthday then?” You said as you straightened up a bit. “Since his birthday was six months ago, which is when I met him and his dad.”
“It’s… the Captain’s birthday?”
“For a pirate, you’re really bad at lying.” You pointed out as you ripped the order off the pad and tore it up. “I thought pirates were good at it.” You sighed and rubbed your face. “Look, just buy a dozen cupcakes and call it good, okay? I don’t know why you’re here with your terrible lies but I don’t have time for it.”
“R-Right.” He took the box he was given of assorted cupcakes and gave you some berry before leaving, but not before looking back at you once more before he stepped out the door. Why he had to come check on you and not the Captain himself was something Cabaji was curious about. Darby spent the last six months talking about you, asking when you’d come and cook pancakes again, and to his credit, Buggy was patient and kind with the kid with all the questions but he took the frustrations of the situation out on his crew.
Buggy wasn’t handling it well, the way things ended between you two and Cabaji had seen it firsthand. He knew his Captain had a big heart, one that often opened up when he thought he’d found a kindred soul, someone he could fall in love with and sail the seas together, but when you walked out after breakfast that morning, he was shattered, even if he didn’t tell it to anyone, but Cabaji saw it.
When Buggy saw they would be near your town again, he sent Cabaji out to check in on you. And boy, Cabaji had news to share and he wasn’t sure how the captain was going to take it.
Once he delivered the cupcakes to the kitchen, he sought out Buggy. He was in Darby’s room, brushing his son’s hair out while trying to figure out how to style it for the day. The three year old hated sitting still but Buggy had given him some blocks to distract himself with while he worked. Cabaji knocked on the door and cleared his throat; Buggy looked up and glared at him.
“What?”
“I saw her, sir.”
“And?”
“She’s… changed.” Cabaji trailed off and Buggy rolled his eyes.
“How? She get a haircut, grow shorter, or is she missing some limbs? I don’t really care, I was just curious.” He said as he began to braid Darby’s hair.
“She’s pregnant, Captain Buggy.”
Buggy stopped what he was doing and slowly looked over at Cabaji. “She’s what now?”
“Pregnant.” He said hesitantly. “I didn’t… ask how far along she was.”
“Did she have a ring?”
“I didn’t see one.”
Buggy nodded slowly and turned back to his son. “You can go.”
“Sir-”
“I said go.” His hand flew at Cabaji, pushing him out of the room before yanking the door shut. So, you were pregnant. You must have found a man shortly after Buggy which didn’t sit well with him. It wasn’t as if you belonged to him or that he was the jealous type, he just… wanted to know what you’d been up to since you left the ship during breakfast and broke his son’s little heart. It wasn’t that Buggy cared about you, no, he just didn’t like seeing his son so sad. You two weren’t in any sort of relationship after two days, but maybe he needed to pay you a visit, just to say hi, check in with you, that sort of thing.
~
When you walked up to the bakery the next day, you noticed someone was waiting outside. That wasn’t too unusual, often someone was waiting for the place to open so they could grab a breakfast pastry and coffee, completely normal, but it was just that when you got closer and saw who it was, you paused for a moment. He hadn’t changed in six months, still had his blue hair hidden, his makeup was still smeared, and his nose just as red.
“Uh… hi.” You weren’t really sure what to say. You didn’t expect to see him. “Bakery opens in an hour.”
“The donuts were tasty, Darby wanted more.” Buggy said with a shrug. “Wanted to be first in line to get the best ones.”
“Those were cupcakes.”
Buggy paused for a moment before shrugging again. “Same thing.”
You sighed and unlocked the door, gesturing for him to follow you in. This was a dumb idea, why were you doing this? Why were you letting him into your place of work while you tried to get ready for the day? You locked the door behind him and went to make him a cup of coffee.
“Why are you here?” You asked with a frown. “Is Darby okay?”
His gaze softened just a bit at you asking about his son. He nodded as he took a seat. “He's fine. Growing like seaweed.”
You didn't correct him as you brought him his coffee. He grabbed your wrist gently before you could pull away, looking up at you, eyes briefly flickering to your growing stomach.
“So, find some hot guy to make an honest woman outta ya?”
“Not exactly.” You said; his eyes narrowed and you sighed, removing yourself from his grasp and putting his hand on your stomach. “I was pretty shocked, the two times I wasn't careful and some goofy pirate knocked me up.”
“Wait-”
“Yep.” You stepped away from him and headed to the kitchen. He got up to follow, leaving the coffee behind. “Six months along. Kinda getting tired of being on my feet all day.”
“Why are you still working then?”
It was hard not to snap an answer back at him. Admittedly, you found the fool to be handsome, it was hard not to in some ways, but he was certainly dumb sometimes. You bit back a retort as you started to bend down to get something but Buggy’s hands were there to help you. You pointed out what you needed and they grabbed them, putting them up on the counter for you.
“I can't not work, Buggy. I need money, especially with this little one on the way.” You sighed. “And then once the baby is born, I'll be coming to work with them because… I don't have anyone to help me.”
“I still have an open position on my ship.” Buggy said without missing a beat. “I… still want someone to help with Darby.”
“What, like a nanny?” You asked. Before, the idea was crazy to you. But now, with the baby growing inside you, it didn't sound half bad. Keeping up with the running of the bakery was driving you crazy. You’d come home exhausted, achy, feet sore and swollen. It was hard to want to get out of bed some mornings to do it all over again. You didn’t know how to pace yourself, barely even giving yourself a day off most of the time, and as you reflected on that for a moment, the invite did sound enticing. Maybe it was the changing hormones and emotions, but you ended up nodding. “Do I get my own room, or…”
“Own room, you take care of Darby, I'll pay you, it's quite the life, y’know.” Buggy shrugged. “He'd love to have you around.”
“Is he the only one?” You asked as you tapped one of his hands, pointing to a large mixing bowl that was up high. “Look, I didn't mean to leave the way I did, I just… was concerned with what you said. I really liked those two days with you, and I loved spending time with Darby.”
Buggy just shrugged. “He loved spending time with you and having you on the ship.”
You smiled softly and looked at him. “I just… need a few days to take care of some things.”
~
The way Darby's eyes lit up when he saw you at breakfast one morning made you think the decision to come aboard was the right one. He completely ignored Buggy in favor of hurrying over to you and holding his arms up to be picked up, which you did, pulling him into your lap, which was just a little uncomfortable with your stomach being in the way, but he didn't seem to mind. He was just happy to see you.
“Clearly you're the favorite.” Buggy sighed as he fixed Darby’s plate for him. You had arrived the night before after Darby went to bed. Buggy gave you the Grand Tour of the ship, finishing off where your room was, the small storage room that was between Buggy's and Darby's room and it was perfect. He had it converted pretty quickly and you appreciated it, even though you ended up sleeping with Buggy that night.
“I can't help it.” You chuckled as you hugged Darby, kissing him on the forehead as he made himself comfortable on your lap. “I missed you, Darby. I'm excited to spend time with you!”
“With me?” He looked up at you with a frown. “Why?”
“She's going to stay with us for a bit, sweetheart.” Buggy told him as he set Darby's plate down in front of you, as well as your own. “She's going to live with us! That's great, right?”
“Really?” The little boy's eyes lit up as he looked at you. The smile on his face tugged at your heart and oh, you couldn't believe that you were going to do this, live on a pirate ship while pregnant, helping the captain raise this adorable child.
“Oh, he's precious.” You chuckled as you hugged him. “Really! I'll get to play with you, we can cook and do whatever you want, Darby.”
Buggy wasn't sure he could handle the scene in front of him. Darby had the biggest smile on his face as he looked up at you while you had one arm around him while you used the other to start feeding yourself. It was apparent what kind of person you were with how attached his son was to you already, even after meeting you the first time and wandering off to see you the next day. Darby still didn't even go near most of the crew and they knew him since he was a baby.
It was a little too sweet and Buggy finally managed to look away, focusing on his own food while you answered Darby’s questions between bites while also encouraging the three year old to eat as well. Was this going to work out? It had been Buggy and Darby for the kid's entire life and now here you were, pregnant with Darby’s sibling, joining the family in some way.
Buggy realized there was going to need to be some conversations happening.
~
“Can Darby call you mom?”
It was just before lunchtime the day you arrived. Darby was down for a nap while you were in the kitchen, preparing lunch for the three of you. You knew the two of you would need to talk, lay down rules, expectations and boundaries, things like that, but you just didn't expect that question out of the blue like that.
“Do you want him to?” You asked, looking up from the cheese sandwiches you were currently toasting. “I mean, I think it would be confusing if this new baby comes and we are saying ‘mommy and daddy’ around it, and he just calls you daddy…”
“I want him to be able to.” Buggy said a little too quickly. You frowned as he went to grab plates for the three of you. He hesitated for a second before looking at you. “Look, Darby’s mom didn't want him. We… we had a fling, I didn't know she was pregnant, and when I came to visit her, she told me either I take the kid or he goes to an orphanage.” He took a moment, cleared his throat, before adding, “He was a little baby, y’know. He was just a few weeks old and that bitch wanted to leave him at an orphanage.”
“Oh, Buggy…” You swallowed the lump in your throat and rubbed your eyes, trying to ignore the tears threatening to well up. “That's horrible.”
“I wasn't going to put my son through that. And… and he is my son, it's pretty obvious, and it hasn't been easy but I love that kid.” Buggy continued, no longer looking at you as he set the table. “Y’know, never thought I'd be a dad. Didn't think it was a possibility, but… here I am, raising one kid with another on the way.”
You lowered the heat on the stove before walking over to Buggy and touching his arm to get his attention. He glanced over at you and you took his hand, placing it on your swollen belly.
“We both know this isn't going to be perfect, we're probably going to fight and have other issues, but I'm fine if Darby wants to call me mom.” You told him as he sat down on a chair and leaned into you, resting his cheek on your stomach. “But I don't want to force it, let it happen naturally, okay?”
“Yea…” He trailed off, eyes closed as he made himself comfortable against you. You didn't move for a moment, rubbing his shoulder gently.
“Are you sleepy?” You asked; he nodded. “Okay, I think it's time for you to take a nap after lunch. I'll take care of Darby so you can get some rest.”
“I'm too old for naps.” He mumbled in response.
“I feel like I had this conversation already today.” You chuckled as your fingers moved from his shoulder to the back of his neck. He shuddered, leaning into you further, and you kept it up for a few more minutes. “Okay, I need to get Darby up for lunch. After you eat, you take your nap.”
Buggy tilted his head up to scowl at you but you weren't bothered by it. You already saw that scowl on a three year old when you put him down for his nap a few hours ago. You just patted Buggy on the cheek before pulling away to plate the sandwiches before going off to collect Darby.
This was all either going to work out or explode into millions of pieces.

His Little Mermaid : Prince Eric
Tumblr media
The human world had always fascinated you even if your parents forbid you from going up there. You had found a spot semi-below the surface where you could watch the passing ships and see the humans. One night they had been shooting off fireworks which piqued your curiosity so you peeked your head out to watch not realizing someone had seen you.
"Whoa. You do exist." The voice said making you turn and see a boy about your age sitting there looking at you.
Panicked that you had been spotted after your parents told you not to be up here, you ducked your head back down and swam away much to his disappointment. The next few weeks you couldn't get him out of your mind....so the next time you saw a ship you swam to the surface and hopped into one of the lifeboats looking for him.
"You came back!" He said as he looked through the bars of the ship.
"I did. I'm sorry for running off like that last time, I'm not used to many humans." You said to him.
"It's alright. My name is Eric. What's yours?" He asked you.
"It's y/n but you can't tell anyone about me, I could get in trouble for being here." You said to him.
"As your friend, I promise not to tell a soul. Wait right here." He left there confused as he ran off but returned a few seconds later.
"I want you to have this as a symbol of our friendship and my promise." He said handing you a small mermaid figure.
"This is beautiful, thank you." You said as you placed it in your bag.
From that moment on you would always look for his ship and whenever you would see it, you would swim up to it and talk to him as the years went on you started to fall for him. But then one day when you went up to surface level and never went back to it again after what had happened, you had hated to just leave Eric like that but it hurt too much to go back up there.
Eric searched far and wide for you wondering why you had stopped coming to the surface level until one day he had just accepted that you were gone and weren't coming back and so he went on with his life.
*PRESENT DAY*
You still thought about Eric all the time wanting to see him again but could never bring yourself to go back to the surface level.
"I can help you my dear. To be with your human boy." She said as you looked at her confused.
"I whip up a little potion that gives you legs in exchange for your voice and then you'll have three days to kiss him to remain human or you'll be mine forever." She said.
"Okay." You said still not believing that you were agreeing to this over a boy you haven't seen in 20 years.
"3 days or you are mine forever!" Ursula said and the last thing you remember was barely making it to shore.
"The prince will be here soon." One of the maids said giving you a smile.
You smiled hoping that he would remember you and when he walked though those doors, he was even more dreamy than you remembered.
"You can't talk?" He asked sadly as you shook your head.
"I'm sorry you just remind me of someone I once knew." He said as you looked at him sadly.
"You're welcomed to stay here as long as you need." He said leaving you as the smile disappeared from your face.
The next day he took you through markets and for a boat ride where you guys laid looking at the stars.
"I still don't know your name." He said looking at you.
"It's begins with first letter of your name?" He asked you asked nodded your head.
"Y/n." He said after going through a few as you nodded your head
"Your name is y/n? I used to know someone with that name." He said sadly as you squeezed his hand.
"You remind me a lot of her." He said with a smile.
"I'm right here." You wanted to say to him.
"Goodnight y/n." He said with a smile.
You and Eric spent the next three days together constantly. He showed you his collection of things from his trips and it made you sad sometimes to realize how much you missed him growing up. You thought that today was gonna be the day you told Eric everything that was until you saw him and her together. You are so stupid to think he could fall in love with you, you were leaning over the balcony when you heard something break making you see the new girl's necklace break and an orb float towards you.
"Y/n." Eric said wrapping his arms around you.
"Eric there is something so much I need to tell you..." you said watching as the sunset.
"Y/n!" He said holding you to him as your legs were turned into a tail.
"You're too late!" Ursula said with a laugh before snatching you out of Eric's arms and diving into the ocean.
You guys fought Ursula, rescued the king and you got Eric back to shore. You laid there with him enjoying this moment with tears in your eyes as you knew this would be the last time you saw him.
"Goodbye Eric." You said sadly as you swam back into the water.
"Y/n! Y/N!" He screamed looking around for you not believing you were gone again.
You sighed as leaned up on the rock looking up at the castle and the fact that once again Eric was gone. You were foolish to even think that you could be a part of his world and hated that you were gonna have to leave and forget about him again.
"She really does love him huh?" King Triton asked Sebastian as they watched you leaning on the rock looking up at the castle.
"She does sir, I think after everything she's had to endure that maybe she should have a chance at happiness." He said.
King Triton agreed and pointed his staff towards you giving you legs, which made you turn and look at him as he nodded his head before you ran up to the castle hoping Eric would talk to you.
"Y/N?" He asked shocked as you handed him the figure he had given you when you were children.
"It's been me this entire time." You said to him.
"I never saw you again. What happened?" He asked you again.
"I had gone up to shore thinking it was you except it wasn't and I got my parents killed because of it. They hunted mermaids and they were gonna killed me until my parents came, they rescued me and they paid the ultimate price for it. After that I never returned to the surface, feeling guilty for what had happened. I'm sorry." You said to him.
"Oh my...y/n I didn't know. I'm so sorry I honestly thought you got bored of me and didn't want to be my friend anymore." He said.
"No, it's not that. I thought about you constantly but could never come to the surface after it. But then I saw you again and next thing I know I'm trading my voice for legs just to have a chance with the boy I fell in love with all those years ago." You said with a smile.
"He would like to have a chance with you as well especially now that you have a voice. He would like to explore the waters with you." He said looking at you with a smile.
You leaned up and pressed a kiss to his lips, feeling him wrap his arms around you and pull you closer to him as he kissed you.

My Key to Revenge - Chapter 1
Reverend Mother,
You have put me through much pain and suffering, but even then I am grateful. You have given me the means and made me powerful enough to do as I will with the minds of men and my fellow women. Perhaps we will meet again, in a world that is not so war-torn and lost. But, unless that happens, you and I will be sworn enemies, never to meet again in a room amicably and without bloodshed.
-from the letters of the Bene Gesserit Lady Carina Fenring
Hooded figures stood in the shadows, draping, dark cloth adorning their bodies to obscure their appearance and assure secrecy.
“This is the girl?” The old woman peered into the bundle lying in the man’s arms.
“Yes, this is my niece. Freshly born not but two hours ago.”
“You give her up so early?” Another hooded figure whispered into her ear, “Yes, as my sister said, that is quite young.”
The man sneered, “You promised an alliance in exchange for a girl. I have provided one for you, so take her and leave. But, keep your promise.”
“No need to get testy, now. We will uphold our promise. You will be catered to in Bene Gesserit deals.”
“Good.” He shoved the bundle into the old woman’s arms, “Take her and get out of my castle, her mother will be looking for her soon.”
The woman glared at the man at that, but took the young child in hand anyways, “I will turn her into the finest Bene Gesserit. She will know the ways of powerful women.”
He merely waved his hand, “I do not care what becomes of her. She is my niece, born out of wedlock, and to a lowborn no less. Keep her as a servant or student, it matters not to me.”
With one last look at the man, the old woman and her circle of hooded figures turned, “We shall be on our way then.”
When they began walking and were out of earshot, one of the hooded figures caught up, “Reverend Mother, are you sure you want to take this child? She is of mixed blood.”
“There is no mixed blood in this one, girl. That idiot of a count cannot tell his left hand from his right. This one is born of the blood of two Great Houses, just like her cousin.”
“Like the other Fenring? How is the family going to take to two missing children?”
“If they search or not, it does not matter. These children will not know of their heritage, and they will grow up as upstanding noble women of the Bene Gesserit. No one is to speak of this night.”
The circle hushed.
“Yes, Reverend Mother.”
***
“Your thoughts betray you. They are a bridge for your enemy. Do not be enslaved by your thoughts.”
Lady Carina Fenring walked briskly across the sand, feeling it mold to her feet, as she made her way towards the Emperor’s ship.
“Your thoughts betray you. Your thoughts betray you.” She insisted upon the Bene Gesserit mantra under her breath, trying to calm her panic and not let her nerves and temper betray her.
“They are a bridge for your enemy. Do not be enslaved by your thoughts.”
Anxiously wringing her hands, she dreaded the sight that would greet her.
She knew what was behind that door.
She could feel it.
But, she did not want to accept it.
All of the years she spent scheming. All of the years spent planning, gaining the knowledge and assets to enable the plan, and being so close.
So close.
She could taste it, her end-goal was so near to her future. And right before it was within her grasp, it slipped through her fingers, fell, and sifted straight into the sand which tortured her vision and plagued her senses. It flew away into the wind that whipped at her hair and grappled with her clothes.
She had spent years, years chasing that dream, that goal.
All for it to be undone by the split-second decision of her subordinate. Her slave.
For that is what she had reduced him to.
At one point, she may have questioned the morals of her methods, but she was too deep into this, too far into the strategy she had built from the ground up to care.
Of all the people she had thought would thwart her plans, she didn’t think it would be the person she had recruited from the beginning. The one who had been the cornerstone in all of her work. The one who had sworn their loyalty to her more times than she could count on her fingers.
Of all the people, why did it have to be him?
She had a few other individuals on the side to complete the minute details of her plan, so it mattered not if they betrayed her. They could be replaced.
But, this one's lineage was too strong. His name held too much influence for him to be granted a mistake.
However, he had gone and done it anyway.
He had done the unthinkable, and ruined everything.
Feyd-Rautha, you are lucky you are all I have left.
Oh, how she wanted to strangle him, to make him bleed and realize just what it was he had done. He was a traitor, and traitors deserve to suffer.
Perhaps she had put too much effort into molding him into her perfect weapon to consider disposing of him, but his betrayal was making her feel extremely venomous and on the edge of murderous.
Forget the edge. She was plunging off of that cliff, and thinking of numerous ways to make him understand her pain.
She should have seen this coming.
She knew he was loyal, and strove to uphold his honor, no matter how twisted his sense of self and honor was.
Though, showing his loyalty to the emperor was not something she would have thought he would do. Not when he was a Harkonnen, and they had been known to remain loyal only to those within the family for as long as anyone could remember.
Sighing, Lady Carina attempted to reign in her raging emotions and maintain her rationality.
The metal door to where the duel transpired stood tall in front of her, looming ahead like a foreboding shadow.
One of sorrow and crushed dreams.
Very telling indeed.
Not wanting to delay the inevitable any more than she already had, she pushed open the doors and took in the sight that greeted her.
There, in the middle of the room lay Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, in a pool of his own blood.
To the naked eye, one would think he was dead. The blood was beginning to dry, dark on the sand beneath him. His face contorted in a pain-filled expression, his eyes wide-open and unmoving.
Holding her breath, she walked over to the mangled pile of flesh upon the floor.
Kneeling down in the center of the abandoned room, next to the bleeding body, the veiled lady spoke softly, “Na-Baron.”
Only a soft breeze across the sand could be heard, a contrast with its serenity to what had transpired before.
When the body did not speak back, she clicked her tongue in annoyance.
“Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Get up.”
At the command of her voice, the body began to twitch. A few minutes went by and it struggled to stand, arms shaking and legs trembling.
“I know you live, Feyd-Rautha. You cannot fool me.”
Slowly, the breath returned to his lungs, his breathing labored. Blood dripped from his mouth, and was caked to his abdomen and head.
He heaved a choking cough, “I would never dream of deceiving you, My Lady.”
“And yet I had to bid you rise to greet me. You did not do so yourself.”
Barely gaining back control of his limbs, the Harkonnen allowed his head to drop in her direction, “You have my sincere apologies, Great Lady.”
Standing up to be on his level, she grabbed his chin and yanked it up, forcing eye-contact between the two of them.
“Why did you do this?”
He only gave her a bloodied smile.
“Why did you almost get killed in place of the Emperor?”
“My honor bound me to do so.”
Pushing his face away, her voice seethed, “You should know that your honor binds you to me, Feyd-Rautha. You have sworn your loyalty to me ten-times over. Your body and mind, as well as your soul, belong to me. How dare you use it in the service of another.”
“You haven’t visited me in so long, My Gracious Lady. I was beginning to wonder if you were ever coming back, so I wanted to gain your attention.”
“Attention?” She snapped, “You dare, dog?”
Seemingly undeterred by her ire, he collected himself a bit more, and wiped some of the blood off of his face, smiling, “Even a dog needs attention every once in a while. If left alone, they may get rowdy. Isn’t that right, my master?”
Rage swept through her mind and took over like a hard desert wind, grating at her nerves and eating away at what little calm she could conjure.
Glaring at his pale face, she clenched her hands, “You seem to have your wits about you now.” “You bid me to rise and be alive, My Lady. What else was I to do?”
Having enough of his backtalk and banter she thought she had grown accustomed to over the years, she ground her words out through clenched teeth, “Kneel and repent.”
“Gladly.” He sunk heavily onto his knees, a harsh sound in the otherwise quiet room.
“What do you will of me, master?”
She scoffed at his brazenness, “You should be asking how I will punish you. You have sinned against me greatly, and in a way you cannot atone for.”
“What is it that I have done to offend you, My Lady?”
“‘What have you done?’” She repeated his word back to him in disbelief, “You have gone and gotten yourself killed in the eyes of the empire, and in turn have killed off your bloodline. Your uncle the Baron and your brother are dead. Your Uncle refused to have any children of his own, leaving the Barrony to be left under your control should he die. And he did. You were the Baron for under an hour, and you had to go and get yourself killed. You cannot be seen by anyone in the empire anymore.”
She watched as he licked the dried blood off of his lips, savoring the taste of it, “You are no longer useful to me. I should kill you right here;finish the job.”
“You know I would find no greater pleasure than that, My Great Master.”
“Yes, I’ve been made well aware, you masochistic dog-brained fool.”
Reaching out, he grabbed the edges of her robe and brought the material up to his cheek, stroking it against the skin gently, “But, I believe I still have use to you yet.”
And this is how he gets me, every time.
His tenderness in these moments was what always broke her down. That she could bring this on in such a brutal man as this made her drunk on the power he placed in her hands. Carina knew he was aware of what he was doing, but played into his ruses every time.
With a softness she did not think she could feel in this situation, she replied, “And what could you possibly be useful for?”
He went further and grabbed her hand, pressing his face against it and holding it there, “Now that I am dead, I can become wholly yours. We would never have to part again. We could be together, always.”
She spoke as a reminder, for both herself and him.
“I did not enter into a contract with you for companionship, Feyd-Rautha.”
He nuzzled her hand, “Oh, but I crave it, Master. I would give myself to you freely.”
Bringing herself back to sense and reality, she retracted her hand, and she shook him off, “Go retrieve your pets if you would like bodily pleasures. I will not indulge you in such things.”
“My pets?” He blinked, as his eyes cleared a bit, “Oh, yes. My pets. I should go get them. Do you think they survived?”
“Who knows? Your pets are probably an afterthought to everyone but you, you disgusting swine. I did not think you would enjoy them as much as you have when I gave them to you.”
“I cherish them because you gave them to me, Master. Although, they do offer great entertainment.”
“Yes, I’m aware of your peculiar fantasies and interests. I pity the ones who must endure the receiving end of it.”
“Oh don’t be that way, My Lady.” Black teeth flashed her way, “You have always indulged me.”
She pushed her face towards his, “Do not think you will get another ounce of mercy from me. You have betrayed me. You are a traitor.”
Something flitted through his eyes. It could have been guilt, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come, “You have my apologies.”
Sighing, she looked him up and down before turning away, “Rest assured I will bring you great suffering later. But for now, follow me. We must get going before someone sees you.”
He again struggled to his feet and trudged after her, still attempting to gain back full use of his limbs.
“May I bring my pets with us?”
Her shoes clicked along the floor, a stark difference to the eerie, quiet stillness which hung over the decimated Emperor’s ship, “You do not deserve such privileges. I gave them to you because I deemed you worthy of a reward, and you have broken that great faith I had in you. You deserve my gift no more.”
“If we leave them here, they will die.”
“Since when did you care about such things?” She sneered at him, “Those creatures will die, yes. Like the animals they are. You should be worshiping me for not exacting the same fate upon you.”
“Master, you know I welcome all of your attention: violent or loving.”
Oh, the brazenness of this man.
“I have never been loving towards you.”
Coughing, he wheezed out a chuckle, “As you say.”
Nearing a small alcove out of the way, a small ship came into view.
“Did you pilot yourself here, My Lady?” More blood oozed out of his wounds due to his movement.
“Of course I did. If I am to go unnoticed, I cannot arrive on a big, shiny vessel, now can I?”
He frowned and didn’t say another word as they embarked upon the vehicle in question.
Sighing, she asked him a question, since she could see something swirling in his gaze.
“What’s the problem?”
“Seeing you without an escort is displeasing.”
That took her by surprise, “I go around by myself all the time.”
Crossing his arms, he sunk into his seat with a pained grimace, “An esteemed lady who has amassed such a following such as yourself should not be unguarded. It is unsafe.”
“Do you think I cannot take care of myself, My Lord Na-Baron?”
He shot her a sheepish smile, “I meant no disrespect, Master.”
Merely shaking her head, she revved up the engine and pulled the ship up into the air, before speeding away in an attempt to not be seen.
Coming here had not been easy. So many Bene Gesserit Reverend Mothers were gathered in such a small area, Carina was sure she would have been sensed by one of them.
After all those years of not seeing any of them, she kind of hoped one of them would.
But, fate dictated that could never be the case, not as long as she followed her vow to exact revenge upon them.
They had stolen her from both her birth-mother and home, and painfully trained her up from a young age to be an ideal Bene Gesserit Lady. One who possessed no fear of pain or misery, and one who sought the betterment of the organization over her sense of self or respect.
No amount of temporary loneliness could erase what they had done to her, what they had put her through in an attempt to construct the Lisan al Gaib.
Waving her hand, she willed those foolish thoughts of longing to abandon the roots in her head.
They could be there no more if she was to complete what she started.
Only when the safe-hold she had created after years of toil and secrecy came into view could her thoughts shift to something else.
Focusing on what had already happened and the rift in her plans Feyd’s misstep had brought would do her nothing.
She would have to focus on all that she had built, and how she could use it to move ahead and make sure her ambitions could become reality.
When the ship finally touched the ground, she shifted it into the correct gear and quickly disembarked, not waiting to see if the Harkonnen was following.
“Lady Carina.” A tall, proper looking handsome man made his way over to the Bene Gesserit Lady.
She leveled a look at him, “Owain.”
Bowing his head towards her, he placed his hand on his chest, “I hope your journey went smoothly.”
“As well as it could, given the circumstances.” Scoffing, she stomped past him, “I’ve brought a present.”
Said present made his presence known by calling after her, “Master! Where are you going?”
“Somewhere alone! And go make yourself useful somewhere else, I do not wish to look at you anymore.”
Not checking to make sure he did what she asked, she kept walking towards her quarters, wishing to be alone to contemplate what she should do next.
Bursting through the entrance, she slammed the slab of wood behind her and seated herself on a cushioned chair by the already-lit fire in the hearth.
The crackling of the flames soon calmed her enough to lean back and try to relax.
However, once again, her wishes were ignored when she heard a soft knock upon the door of her abode.
“Lady Carina.”
I was Owain again.
Knowing that what had transpired was not his fault, she breathed and recited a few calming mantras under her breath before she replied.
“You may come in.”
He pushed the door open carefully, obviously expecting to see her still raging away inside the room.
When she just stared at him, he closed the door behind himself and stood facing her, his hands folded behind him in that polite, ever formal way of his.
Silence once again overtook the room, the movement of students outside or the occasional clanking of metal the only thing that could be heard.
“Did you need something, Owain?”
He spoke quietly, as he often did when he knew she was angry, “I wanted to make sure you were alright, Lady Carina.”
When she just stared at him, he pushed again.
“What happened? Why is that man here?”
She knew exactly who he was talking about, she could see his opinions about him written all over his face.
Sighing, she acquiesced as she learned back further in her chair and crossed her arms, “Feyd may have created a rather…large problem.”
His eyes darkened, “What did he do?”
Taking a second to maintain her decorum, she ground out her words through clenched teeth, “You know that meeting between the Atreides boy and the emperor I was telling you about?”
He nodded.
“They ended up dueling. Which would have been fine if the circumstances were regular, it would have not caused any problems. But, Feyd volunteered to be his champion and was defeated by Atreides. They think he is dead. The emperor has given the throne to that Atreides boy, and now Feyd can no longer show his face anywhere. If he had just stayed silent, he could have continued being the Baron. Given, it would have been under Atreides rule, but he could still have had access to Harkonnen funds and resources. Now, he is a destitute man with no connections and nothing of value to speak of.”
Her words hung heavy in the air.
Owain’s eyes darkened, “...then he is no longer useful to you now, is he?”
Raising her hand, she held it up in front of her, “I know your opinions on him, Owain. But, we will not have this conversation right now.”
“Lady Carina, if he no longer has any resources or anything useful, then he is worthless. He is no better than a bloodthirsty, war hungry foot-soldier.”
She slammed her hand down on the armrest of her chair, “I said we would not discuss this right now, Owain. Did you not hear my words?”
That vengeful look in his eye was replaced by one of slight panic, “Ah, I apologize, Lady Carina. I did not mean to cross you.”
“You didn’t mean to, but you did.”
She was just so tired. She was tired of everyone doing what they think is best instead of listening to what she had to say. This was her plan. They were all gathered here to do her work.
Covering her face with her hands, she said weakly, “Just leave. And do not let anyone else in, I wish to be alone for the rest of the evening.”
She could sense his hesitation, but after a few moments, he moved, “As you wish, Lady Carina. I shall see you tomorrow.”
Then, she heard his steps out and the soft latching of the door.
