nagi is… so chill. you tell him you’re on your period, and he’s like, "oh. okay. do you wanna nap?" because in his mind, that fixes everything.

but the second you actually need something? he’s ( surprisingly ) up and moving faster than you thought possible. he’ll even let you steal his hoodie and hog all the blankets.

chigiri is so calm and collected about it. he’s like, “i got this.” he makes you tea, rubs your back, and lets you vent about how annoying it all is.

he also takes you on peaceful walks or sits with you by the window, brushing your hair and talking about random things to keep your mind off the cramps. it’s giving romance movie vibes.

sae is quietly attentive. he doesn’t say much, but he notices everything—like the way you hold your stomach or wince when you move. suddenly, you’ve got a hot water bottle and your favorite drink in your hand, no explanation needed.

he’ll sit with you in comfortable silence, scrolling on his phone until you’re ready to talk. it’s subtle, but you feel so cared for.

"sae, you didn’t have to get all this—"

"you’re in pain. of course i did."

It's a bad day, and I've been dragging my heels on this. But, I got a bunch of neat new TTRPG stuff in October, so here's what landed in my mailbox.

Break!! - A few years ago, I stumbled on some art on Twitter. It was fun, it was vibrant, and it felt inviting. I wanted to know more, looked into the artist, and discovered it was spot art for an upcoming RPG called Break!! So, I kept an eye on it. The book is beautiful, well laid-out, and really cool, so maybe one good thing came from Twitter*.

The Electric State - Tales from the Loop and Things from the Flood have been pretty high on my "To Play" lists for years. A follow-up, set in a similar (or the same?) world was kind of an instant pickup. Not as interested in the movie, but the game seems pretty rad.

The Geologist's Primer - I picked up the Herbalist's Primer when it came out, and was really impressed with the quality and care that went into it, so when I saw "That but for rocks" was in the works, I was definitely already in. Also excited for the follow up "Mushrooms next time".

Starkhollow Hall - I accidentally fell into a Gothic Fiction kick over Spooky Month, so the timing of this was perfect. I don't know a ton about the GUMSHOE system, but I do feel like what I know about it makes it a perfect fit for the genre. Gothic heroines (and I guess heroes) are at their best when they know there's a dangerous mystery at the heart of what's happening around them, and go looking for it anyway.

Forsaken - Kyle Tam is, honestly, a designer to watch. I picked this up because it was part of an Afterthought Committee project, which is a team I've also really enjoyed work from (my game Water Landing is built off of their game Cast Away). Does a better job of establishing a sort of grimdark/Soulsbourne vibe than some stuff that explicitly tries to.

Iron Edda Reforged - The pitch for this caught me immediately: Cyberpunk Norse Mythology. Tracy Barnett is another Designer to Watch, and I really like all of their stuff--haven't played the original Iron Edda, but have heard it on Party of One and really dug it. Was really hyped to see this come into being.

Electrum Archive v2 - I went through a Weird Sci-Fi phase this year, and the original Electrum Archive was an early pick for it. I really loved the world, the way each class worked differently, and the magic/currency/MacGuffin that it used. Obviously I wanted more, because the second book is here.

Alice is Missing - Silent Falls - My friends and I have been talking about the prospect of another Alice is Missing game since playing the first one about two years ago. It was a really memorable experience, partly due to the game's really compelling design, and to some of the in-moment decisions we made (I played the facilitator character, who starts the game having returned after a long absence, and another player immediately got pissed at them for sorta abandoning the group. it created an interesting play dynamic for the whole session)

Kill Him Faster - I picked up a previous Kovidae Games book as a lark: a collection of exercise-based RPGs. I nearly ignored their other stuff, but this had a pretty compelling pitch: What if time-travel was invented mostly so people could speedrun murdering Hitler. Since Eat the Reich came out, I've thought a bit about Hitler Revenge Fantasy as a genre, and honestly, I'm kinda into it. He was a loser, and deserves to be reduced to a video game villain and killed over and over again; so, yeah. Let's kill him faster next time.

Splat (issue 5) - I'm not usually one for essays and interviews, but this is a zine featuring and by some folks I really like and respect, and this one is packed with thoughts about the state of the indie TTRPG scene and industry from a diverse and immensely talented group. It's honestly a must-read.

(Already getting a few things for the next edition, but also feeling too garbage after the Clusterfuck Election to think about doing anything else today...)

Being black in fandom can be difficult. Every last fandom that I've joined this year has issues with racism. It's annoying. Seeing people use racism in ship/stan wars while being racist/anti-black is frustrating. It's probably not healthy but I tend to assume actors and celebs are all a bit problematic until I see proof of otherwise. Also a lot of times I just won't look into actors or celebs outside of the project I seen them in because I don't want to ruin things for myself. That's kinda how I approach 9-1-1.

Probably because a lot of them are? Certain fans hated Lou first because his character got in the way of a ship and then they went on a hunt to find a more legitimate reason to hate him and they found his old posts. Many of these fans going around talking about how problematic Lou is because of his old posts are silent about Ryan's current problematic posts and that's how you can tell that a lot of these fans don't actually care about real issues and that they're bringing up Lou's past posts because of a ship.

Some of these fans do want to ruin Lou and his career over a ship. Some of them have said it. Some of them have said they want him gone. It's why they harassed him and then celebrated when he stopped doing cameos and stopped posting on twitter as much. Of course Lou's stans are sensitive to this so anytime fans bring up his past posts a lot of his stans start trying to defend him, probably because they assume that people bringing it up are just haters and not fans of his with legit criticism.

Of course there are people instrumentalizing Tommy's past ou Lou Ferrigno's Jr instagram posts to justify hating on the Bucktommy ship, as you explained, but there are people who genuinely had a problem with his racist behavior and can't get over it, which is very legitimate.

Everything you said is correct, and I hear you.

But to be honest, all the posts saying that Hen and Chimney being friendly to Tommy is evidence that he wasn't racist give me "I can't be racist I have a Black friend vibes".

These kind of posts frustrate me to no end. Or when they say Hen and Chimney forgave Tommy why wouldn't you??? Why? Why is he owed forgiveness, when he didn't even acknowledge or apologize for his past behavior? Even then he wouldn't be "owed" forgiveness.

The coworker who's too shy, polite or afraid to lose their job to call out your racist behavior, doesn't approve your behavior. I'm not saying that's what happened with Hen and Chimney but the people acting like Hen and Chimney being civil with Tommy while they were working together is evidence he wasn't racist is frustrating.

It is exhausting, and frustrating and I thought I would be able to relax and enjoy the fandom once I blocked all the toxic Buddie stans, but it looks like I'll have to start blocking some Bucktommy shippers too. Some people always take shipping way too far.

I agree with you but I'm still annoyed and honestly I hate when stans like this start making me hate a character I used to like because of their own behavior. I know you were only talking about Lou Ferrigno Jr, but I derailed and included a discussion about Tommy, sorry.

Ranma Remake

So far I have just one real gripe with the two episodes of the new Ranma 1/2 show I've seen: Akane's fight scenes were just plain better in the original.

Admittedly, the school fight scene from the original show is a fucking masterclass

It was hard to imagine anything topping it. But I'm sad the new fight choreographers couldn't keep up.

Likewise, the original dojo scene is so good, showing the frustrating inability to hit Ranma from an Akane's-eye view to an outstanding score played on violin. The new one is good in a different way, but I do find Ranma's Ninja Vanish insufficiently telegraphed - It felt like it needed more afterimage? Or less? Something felt off about it, and I preferred when we could kind of see Ranma getting out of the way outrageously fast, rather than having her teleport. I think I'd have been more okay with the "teleport" if it'd been from Akane's perspective - We've seen that kind of thing before, for instance when Ichigo first uses his Bankai in Bleach. If it's from the perspective of the person whose eyes can't keep up with the movement, we're not being told this person can teleport. We're being told the POV character lost track of them because they were so fast, which is what we're going for.

There were little moments I missed - Soun's "tracing an hourglass shape with his hands" moment after hugging Ranma for the first time, the delivery-echo of Ranma each time saying, "I'm Ranma Saotome...Sorry about this," and the dub delivery of, "Dad, you're gonna scare 'em spitless!" The speed with which Akane picks up the whole-ass table to use it as a weapon.

But those I don't consider failures. The new adaptation has artistic differences; It's not just a fresh coat of paint on the older show, but a new attempt to adapt the comic. And it's got some really excellent moments. The animation of Ranma when she's just received Kuno's proposal, as rose petals float around her and she turns to dust and blows away in the wind, is top-notch. The look on Tendo's face when he realizes Ranma's female more than makes up for the missing "hourglass trace." I love the bits of floating sound-effect text. Those were animated with love and care.

Also, both Ranma and Akane are cuter in this one. You can more easily believe that they'd fall for each other, get pissed off and swear off the other...and then kinda fall for them again, because this show does a better job than the original at selling each of them as attractive - in form, and in personality, and in...demeanor? There's more humanity in Akane's reaction to losing to Ranma in the dojo, and in Ranma's silent response to that reaction. They both have this layer of emotional vulnerability that the show (and even the comic, usually) didn't make time for, and I am here for it.

In fact they made Ranma so cute that it feels weirder here than in the original show that Nabiki immediately has no interest in him. Kasumi made it very clear that she was out of the running because of her disinterest in anyone younger than herself. But Nabiki was merely hoping this unknown guy would be cute, and then he was pretty fuckin' cute. Maybe she didn't want to mess with the curse business, or he didn't fit her vibe, or maybe she genuinely thought he'd be a good fit for Akane (though that ruins the joke of the two older sisters foisting Ranma off on her).

Honestly what I really want is for the new series to have four seasons. That should give about enough time for all 48 original graphic novels, with no dumb filler. Maybe drop it to three seasons and have a "just the good bits" like the Princess Bride film. Against the first two episodes of the original show, the new series barely treads water in spite of its dramatically improved budget and animation techniques. But that was a really high bar, and on the whole I think the new series did successfully tread water and not drown. I want to see the remake tackle things the old show did horribly, and get to see those scenes made competently.

Show me a well-animated cat fist vs shark fist, and I'll be a happy camper.

You had heard about Provincetown. You saw the guide books, the summer town that was only alive when the clouds moved aside to allow for the sun to touch the ground. Any beach town could be interesting in that sense, that it’s beautiful and secluded and inspiring. But that wasn’t what compelled you to come. It was the whispers that bled out from the town. There’s a certain charm in small town secrets that only rotate within the city lines. There’s something else entirely to be said about the small town secrets that reach through the online forums, the cities surrounding them. 

You heard about it through a bar you frequented. Frequented might be a strong word. A bar you went to on occasion when writers block hit you hard and you couldn't’ look at another camera. There were secrets about the people there, those who came when it wasn’t sunny any longer, those who stayed and silently sucked up the resources around them. 

You arrived in Provincetown a week after Harry Gardner and his family. You moved in right next to him, down the street in a smaller house. You were keenly aware you had gotten it for a killer deal. Something was wrong with this town and it might just be the inspiration you needed to really push past being an ‘aspiring’ director and being a ‘successful’ one. 

“Lots of newbies,” Austin Sommers announced. He leaned back in his chair at the Muse, a local bar. You were trying to get your feet on the ground still by searching for a place to work while you figured things out. You figured trying the bar first would be helpful. 

You heard Austin speak but didn’t know the words were directed at you. You gazed at the menu, reading off the special board. The lack of routine in your days was throwing you off. Even if there was no job here, you needed a drink. 

“I said,'' Austin tried again, “lots of newbies.” He walked up to the bar stool and sat down beside where you were standing. You turned to him, realizing that he had been speaking to you.

“What do you mean?”

“Well you’re new. I’ve never seen you here before. Just a week ago a new family moved in. This is gonna become a real stellar town if we keep bringing in the riff raff.” His voice was surprisingly not judgemental. You pursed your lips, deciding to ignore him. You looked to the bartender who gave you a gentle smile. 

“Hi! Are you guys hiring?” 

“Oh not another bartender,” Austin murmured. “You’re not here to write?” The bartender gave Austin a narrow look. 

“Not right now. But I know there’s a place down the road that is. I can give you the address if you want?” He was cleaning glasses, waning past the long nights when little people came in. 

“That would be great actually.” 

“It’s a little bookstore. It’s not very busy but the owner's wife just passed away or something and they need someone to clean the shop when he can’t.” 

“That’s awful.”

“Well his loss is your gain,” the bartender murmured. He turned around to grab a piece of paper. Austin leaned against the counter. 

“Pretty brutal huh?” You finally turned to look at him. The haircut didn’t suit him but you liked his striped shirt and long necklace. 

“Can I help you with something?” 

“I’m just giving you a warning sweetheart. From one person to another, this is not the town you wanna stay in.” You narrowed your eyes at him, trying to read if he was joking or not. 

“The brochures say it really lightens up in the summer.” 

“It’s not the summer isn’t it?” 

He unnerved you with his ominous warnings so you turned back to the bartender. He handed you a piece of paper. 

“Where are you staying?” the man asked. Austin leaned in intently but you didn’t feel comfortable giving your address and street to either men. 

“Around,” you promised. 

“You should meet up with the family that just moved in. Maybe you could help each other.”

“Are you by yourself?” Austin pursued. You gave him a narrow look. 

“Who’s the family?”

“Gardner’s. On the water, in the south part of town.” You nodded. You had no intention of seeking them out but wanted to leave this conversation. 

“Thank you for the place.” The bartender nodded. Austin looked disappointed but you didn’t feel too bad. You backed away and then walked out, sad you hadn’t gotten your drink.

You ended up going to the bookshop and the man didn’t even require a resume. He mumbled something about opiate addicts taking away all of the good workers in this town and he needed new blood anyway. You guessed he was still mourning his wife but he didn’t mention her. 

And that is where you met Harry Gardner for the first time. 

You were busy rearranging some shelves that had been well used when he came in. The bartender wasn’t lying when he said the place wasn’t busy. You were lucky to have twenty customers your entire shift. But it paid the bills while you worked up some inspiration. 

You heard the bell ring and the door swing open with a gust of wind. You stood up, putting on a smile to greet whoever it was. You peeked around a shelf and saw his curious gaze. You walked around it, carrying a stack of books in your arms. 

“Good morning!” you said with a smile. “How can I help you?”

He met your eyes softly. He was unmistakably handsome with hair falling over his face in strands.

“Hi! I was just coming to browse,” he said. You nodded. 

“Well I’ll be around if you need anything.”

He turned into a small section. You turned back to your shelf and started to put the books back. You had gentle music playing on the speaker by the counter. You returned to it in case he needed anything. He came out from between some stacks, already holding something. 

“Do you like it here?” he questioned. “The job, I mean.” It was sudden but you shrugged. 

“I just moved here last week,” you admitted. “But so far so good.” His eyes lit up. He had been looking at the books before but now you had his full attention. 

“Me too. Well, two weeks ago,” he said. You raised an eyebrow. 

“You wouldn't’ happen to be a Gardner would you?” He eyed you suspiciously. 

“How do you know that?” “Word travels fast. Some guy at the Muse mentioned your family.” He nodded slowly. 

“That tracks.” You shrugged. He approached the counter. He set down an old used copy of a book you had never heard of. “My names Harry.” 

“Y/N,” you offered. “How are you liking the surprisingly dreary town of Province?” He smiled slyly. 

“So far not great. Have you run into any of the addicts yet?” 

“I’ve not ran into any, no.” 

“I recommend not.” He looked tired. “My wife and daughter ran into one when they were on a walk the first day we were here.” 

“Not good?” “No, no it wasn’t.” You nodded, shivering. Drug addiction was no joke. It was a disease but it was dangerous. It was hard not to be scared sometimes. “What are you doing out here?”

“I am a director. Aspiring. I was hoping for some inspiration. So far I’ve found a lot of cold beaches and weird people.” He chuckled knowingly. 

“I’m actually a writer myself. I’m trying to get out the pilot episode of a script, that's why we came out here.” You raised an eyebrow. 

“Intrigue. What kind of things do you write about Harry Gardner?” 

“All kinds of things,” he promised. “Whatever I feel like.”

“A true writer.” You smiled gently. He met it with the same generosity. He wasn’t sure if it was because of certain circumstances but he liked you regardless. “What are you reading?” 

“I don’t know yet. Cover looked nice and I need to read something.”

“You didn’t bring any books?”

“My wife doesn’t really like clutter,” he admitted. Your eyes went wide. 

“Brave of her.” You rung up the book. “$9.55 for you today.” He handed you his card. He tried not to think of what Doris would say to him, spending money on something they didn’t really need, especially with money being tight. He’d like to think he’s worked hard enough for a small treat and a nice conversation. “Want your receipt?” 

“No, that's okay.” 

“Well it was nice to meet you Harry.” He grabbed his book. 

“It was nice to meet you too.” 

He was smiling as he left. You were left wondering how much he liked his wife.

There was not enough to do in Provincetown. You could go to the bar filled with weirdos. You could take a walk and run into someone who looked like they were from Nosferatu. Or you could daydream about the guy who you saw walking down the street sometimes and wonder how he was doing. 

Harry came back only once after that and it was a normal interaction. You were fine with it being just that. Normal. You would admire him and his family from afar, wondering what it looked like inside of his house. You had no actual intentions of ‘seducing him’ or whatever the shitty mom dramas were doing. You let yourself feel feelings but also didn’t actively seek them out. 

That was until he came back a third time and asked you to get lunch. He explained that he wanted to pick your brain about the ideas you had and you were all too happy to take your break. He took you to a small diner nearby on the small strip of businesses. 

You sat by the window, watching as a couple of cars drove by. 

“So you came from New York?” you questioned. He nodded. “What’s that like?” 

“About as you expect,” he admitted. 

“Broadway every Sunday? Seeing the Statue of Liberty from your window? Eating hot dogs for breakfast?” 

“Okay maybe not that,” he said, laughing. You laughed with him. 

“Alright then give me something Harry. I only have such a long break.” 

“I’ve never been to Broadway,” he started. “There are so many people. It’s kind of shocking walking around here and being alone.”

“It’s eerie.” 

“It is.” He shrugged. He was leaning forward, his hands wrapped around his cup. “This whole town is eerie.” You nodded. You glanced out the window. It was a cloudy day. You were getting used to them. 

“It feels so…hidden. Like it’s gonna eat itself whole.” You shook your head. “How’s your family adjusting?” He glanced down and then back up again. 

“Not great.” 

“No?” 

“Doris…Doris doesn’t like it here,” he admitted. “But it’s helping my writing so much.” 

“What does Doris do?”

“Interior design.”

“Is she good at it?” He gave you a dumb look. 

“She’s my wife.”

“That’s not what I asked.” He didn’t answer, which was an answer. You nodded slowly, thinking about all the interior design places she could do here. There weren't a lot that came to mind. “How’s the kid?”

“Alma is…she’s a lot.” He shook his head. “You should probably be getting back.” You nodded. You should probably get back.”

“I haven’t finished my fries,” you complained. “Couple more minutes. Sorry I brought them up.” He shook his head. 

“It’s okay. It just kind of feels like another life.” 

You hummed in agreement as you ate a fry. 

“You need to get out more Harry Garnder.” He chuckled. 

“Alright alright.” You leaned back in your chair. “Do you write?” 

“Sometimes but mostly I just visualize,” you admitted. “But I need to start somewhere.” He nodded. 

“I guess I do the opposite.” 

“Don’t you visualize to write?” 

“I guess so. I guess you’re right.” He smiled. 

“You got anything I could read?” 

“I don’t think you’d like them,” he admitted. You raised an eyebrow. 

“How do you know what I’d like?” you accused. His smile remained but there was a sly tug at his lips. 

“I don’t. You’re right.”

“Lesson number one. I’m always right.”

You and Harry frequented the small diner a couple of times in the following weeks. The meet ups became less courtesy and more nefarious in nature. You already had the vibe from him that he had ill intentions and you had never turned him down. It was just nice to talk to him. He never did anything. He showed no physical inclination of anything, never crossing the imaginary boundaries. But the topics got deeper and more nuanced. Conversations about life, writing, themes. Questions about things he hadn't talked about in years. Things that you promised yourself you would keep close to your chest. 

Until that one winter night. You usually get lunch during your breaks but slowly the times had gotten later. It was nothing said out loud. It was all habit at that point, never questioning the ordeal until it was over. What were you to him? What was he to you? 

It was cold, as it often was. He was wearing a thick black jacket, his cheeks a rosy red. You were also bundled up in your typical choice of coverings. You sat across from him, the air in the diner fluid with the weather outside. 

It was dinner time. He should be with his family, you thought and then disregarded it. 

“Where does Doris think you are?” you asked after ordering. You were both still wearing copious amounts of layers to combat the freezing temperatures. 

“The bar,” he explained. “I’ll probably go there afterwards,” he admitted. You pursed your lips. 

“Frequent the Muse?” 

“I try not to, unless it makes an alibi.” 

“That sounds like you’re planning my murder Harry,” you joked. He smiled slyly. He had a cup of coffee in his hands he wasn’t drinking. You wondered if it was more of a hand warmer. 

“Trust me, you’re the only thing keeping me sane right now.”

Admissions like that confused you. His actions never seemed to follow through with his words. 

“What, you haven’t made more friends here yet?”

“I don’t have time.” 

“You could always cancel one of our lunches.”

“No,” he said, far too quickly. 

“I won’t be offended Har.” He shook his head. His eyes were stagnant down at the steaming cup. 

“I like seeing you.” He said that like it was an illicit affair. You shook your head. 

“I like seeing you too. You need to branch out.”

“You’re not my mother,” he quipped but it felt more defeated. “I’m sorry.” He shivered as the door opened. The bell rang, indicating a customer, and in with them came the cold. “It’s freezing. You aren’t wearing enough layers.” 

‘You’re wearing just one,” you told him. 

“Alright, the usuals…” Your waitress interrupted the train of thought and put down your food. The warmth of it was nice. It was odd to you that you had a usual. You were a small town girl now, even if you didn’t believe it yourself. 

“Thank you so much.”

“Thank you.”

You and Harry’s voices overlapped in gratitude as you looked down at your plate. The sun was setting. 

“She doesn’t mind you don’t stay for dinner?” you asked because you didn’t know what else to do but push. 

“No,” he admitted. He didn’t talk about her much. He talked about his sixth grade trauma but never the wife and child. Was it guilt? Disinterested? Or just general indifference? “Can you sit over here? Maybe we could share some warmth.” You didn’t make a face or anything. You got up and sat on his side. 

You brought your plate over and took a bite, like everything was normal. The sides of your bodies were flush. You had touched him before but not so much at once. He glanced at you. 

“Thank you,” he breathed.

“Anytime,” you promised. You swallowed your bite and looked up at him. Your eyes were so close. You could practically see his train of thought. The small diner, the married man, the same booth. 

“This is quite cliche isn’t it?” he questioned. He leaned against the wall but he was still touching you. 

“Yes, yes it is.” You moved your food around. “But I think cliches are used for a reason. They’re such a generalized feeling but have lost their meaning. Isn’t that sad?” 

“It is.” 

Kiss me, you thought. There would never be another time like this one. He wanted to do it and he couldn’t hold back much longer, you knew it. You looked at him through your lashes, begging him silently. 

When he did kiss you, you wondered if he had read your mind. That’s how well he seemed to know you. The kiss was gentle and unassuming. No one would guess the emotions lying within. You grabbed his hand, holding it. This didn’t even feel like public. This felt like your own personal world, like the one you could have had before everything was so different. Before things were so wrong. 

When he pulled away he had no sense of regret over his eyes. You accepted it, the guilt, to come quickly. It was like he had temporary amnesia for the whole life he led. To the reason he was here. 

“This would make a good story,” he whispered, laughing gently. You rolled your eyes at the break of the moment. 

“Yes. It would.”

Not really a design element, but arakis whole fatphobia and not seemingly to be able to draw fat characters as not evil or a joke. Because I hate to say it, araki has shown clear skills in being able to draw fat people and do a good job that looks good! But he doesn't seem to know how to be normal and treat fat people like normal enjoyable characters

You have unlocked an unskippable cutscene I could literally talk about this for days on end

under the read more cause this is gonna be LONG

okay SO the very basics of Purpleds character is just he’s a really skilled fighter, so he became a mercenary to put those skills to use

ccpurpled said himself that cpurpled just wants money and power

but despite this, he’s not a fan of conflict at all, and prefers to avoid fights and wars whenever possible

a favorite quote of mine, “I’m like Switzerland, I don’t really fight, but when I do fight, I win” (not word for word I forgor)

he greatly prefers to keep to himself, and just gather materials and chill with his dog and mind his own business, because he’s seen what happens to everyone else, and doesn’t want any part of it

Early in the server, before he did a lot of serious lore, he had a decent amount of relatively positive relationships with a couple people, and he didn’t necessarily hang out with them or anything but he trusted them

he mostly just sat around and built stuff, the first big thing he was a part of was the Manberg vs Pogtopia war

-karl recruited him against his will

-he ran around for like 30 minutes just rambling about how he had no idea what was going on ever

-he fought for like 3 minutes before switching sides

-*getting killed by fireworks* “IM ON YOUR SIDE” “YOU WERENT BEFORE”

-was dead silent for like 40 minutes as he just ran around fighting people and no one acknowledged him

-schlatt fucking died “did he just have a heart attack?!?” “He just fucking died!!” And then went silent again

-the whole thing were no one wanted to be president

suddenly Ponk wants to talk to him, and now uh oh, BadBoyHalo is in some random ass cave trying to hire Purpled to kidnap Puffy

purpled has nothing better to do, so he takes the job

he doesn’t log on for months, so Quackity puts bombs in his house

suddenly purpled logs on and Quackitys like “I understand this looks bad but I want to hire you”

“what’s this another mercenary job?” God forbid someone hire him to do his job

he accepts, and badda bang badda book now he’s working against the Eggpire

Q, purpled, and Techno are going to take down the red banquet, and then Quackity decides to be an asshole (Purpled and Techno want to go in and help, but Quackity makes them wait and foolish dies, then Quackity goes in and plays the hero)

Punz shows up, says some stuff, purples agrees to work for him and dream (this will not go well)

they raid las nevadas!! dream blows some shit up, foolish releases an army of slimes, and purpled yells at Quackity some more

slime reveals he’s not actually a dumbass and shoves purples of off a balcony

and then the server fucking ended so I guess that’s that!

so, long story short, purpled is pretty much just a badass but also cringefail assassin, who does not like people or conflict, and has cared about two things ever (his ufo and his dog, which is thankfully still alive), but is also still just a teenager, and has some shit going on.

he doesn’t care about a lot, but he does have silly little feelings sometimes and the only two times he ever showed that he blew up his own house and the second time he fucking died

So, Ateez’s concept is obviously pirates… I was wondering, if you were to put BTS in Ateez’s concept, what pirate role would you put each BTS member in? And vice versa, if Ateez were in Dragonheart, which BTS character would you assign to which Ateez member? And I promise, I’m not asking for spoilers, more like… this member fits this characters role type of thing

(I won’t lie, I’m also pretty curious about which BTS character you would assign to which Ayres member of you were to put Ateez’s in PFYG too but I feel like I’ve already asked a lot so you absolutely don’t have to answer this last part if you don’t want to!)

wowie, okay, i gotta think about this for a moment, cause this is a really interesting thought! i think i'm going to start with dragonheart, cause that's the easiest right now haha

DRAGONHEART - SWITCH BETWEEN ATZ AND BTS

so, the most obvious out of the way -

namjoon would definitely be hongjoong, because it's supposed to be the leader. he's also got that authority feel in him and he's really grown into his leader role, we've seen him more bossy lately and i think he really does fit into that well! also, as joonie is a fire dragon, i think joong would also fit with that magic!

jin would also definitely be seonghwa, as they're both the oldest of the groups and seen as bit of the protective energy as the leader's 'partner'. though hwa has a bit more of a softer vibe than jin i think, cause jin is a lot more mature in my eyes (since he's over thirty and out of military) - he can be a goof but he definitely has a stricter more serious side, so i think hwa would be more protective in a softer way. their magicks also definitely match, though i'm not saying what they are hehe

hoseok is very san coded to me, though similarly to the jin/hwa pair, i think san is much more softer and gentler than hobi (he has a warrior side to him - it's tied to his magick and history, you'll see hehe). sannie definitely has the nurture/healer vibe, the cheery joyful loving type. there's also a connection to animals (we'll get to explore that later), which i think fits sannie well too!

now, this is where i'm starting to have a bit of a harder time haha!

i think yoongi would maybe be yeosang, due to the whole silent menacing energy he's having right now, also i can definitely imagine yeosang as an atmokinetic. yeosang can look very intimidating though he's a little sassy goof, so i think he'd match yoongi's energy in the story well!

to taehyung i'd match mingi, because they both have this kind of vibe of pure-heartedness, the silent shy wide-eye stare type, though i think taehyung is probably a lot more introspective - he comes off as a little odd, while mingi just has a big awkward introvert energy haha, but at the heart of everything they're just super genuine curious people. i'm not gonna spoil what tae's magick is because it will be a big plot point hehe, but i guess i could imagine mingi with it, though i think they'd both have different attitudes (it would be interesting for you to come back to this once the power is revealed and tell me your opinion!)

now we're only left with three more members, and i'd definitely match wooyoung to jungkook - if this story was ateez, woo would be our main goofy dragon and the MC's first bonded. they both have this mischievous playful vibe, they both can be kind of impulsive or instinct driven, they both bond to people pretty fast, i think it's a strong match. though jungkook in this story is definitely a tank, while woo has more of a rogue energy haha

the last - jimin would definitely be yunho were this an ateez story - i can imagine yunho as a water dragon, he has that slick smooth vibe, they both can look kind of aloof and intimidating (and they're both dancers!), and just as jimin is strongely protective of jungkook, i can imagine yunho caring super strongly for wooyoung's well-being, so that would be my pick

unfortunately there's 7 bts members and 8 ateez members, so jongho is matchless, but were this an ateez story, he'd definitely have jungkook's tank powers while silently keeping watch and his guard up like hoseok in the story does, so he'd be his own thing and fit in where the matches kind of fall apart haha!

let me match the PFYG characters, before i dive into the pirate subject!

PENNY FOR YOUR GHOSTS SWITCH-UP

so actually, the vibes are very different in this story, and so the matching also changes!

yoongi - definitely wooyoung haha, dude is such a flirty menace in this one (also a kitty hybrid)

seokjin - i'd keep him as seonghwa, since he still has that kind of nurturing character vibe (probably would be a bunny, can't really imagine him as a bear haha)

namjoon - definitely also still hongjoong, though i can imagine joong would be even more awkward than joonie is haha (i could imagine joong as a wolf hybrid, but i think i'm gonna switch them with hobi and make him a fox)

hoseok - i'm gonna say yunho here! hobi in this story kind of supports the 'parents' and tries to keep everything up and running and organised, so i can imagine yunho taking that spot (since joong would be a fox, he'd be the wolf!)

taehyung - i think in this story he matches jongho's vibe a bit more, i think i can imagine them having a similar sense of humour and teasing others (also jongho is def a bear, so that's that!)

jimin - now, i wasn't that sure here, but i ended up choosing sannie! jimin is definitely a menace in this one, and since MC spends a lot of time flustered by yoongi aka wooyoung, it would fit with the dynamic well. and we know sannie can be a menace too haha (he could be another kitty hybrid, though i think he could pull off a fox! it would be an interesting mix up in the dynamic with woo often being the fox)

jungkook - hmmmm, i think i might go with mingi here! again, that kind of awkward introvert vibe would fit into his character here. also jungkook is def a partner in crime with tae here, and mingi and jongho could be such a chaotic duo when unleashed together haha (i'd also keep him a wolf, to match with yunho)

this time yeosang is the one matchless, but he'd definitely find a spot to fit into the story. it's hard to say what kind of hybrid he'd be tho, because i don't want to have too many dog hybrids, i think maybe he could be a bear, but i'd have to give that a bit more thought and find an animal that matches him well! i think he could also fit into jimin's character here hehe!

THE PIRATE SWITCH UP

well, since i don't have an ateez pirate story, i'll have to match both - also if you don't mind, i think maybe space pirates is a concept that could definitely fit both ateez and bts, so i'm gonna go with that instead of regular pirates!

the captain - well, i know i'm being annoying with this, but there's no better match than hongjoong and namjoon! our leader boys are definitely in charge when it comes to it, though i think joong as a captain is much more mischievous than joonie is!

the second-in-command - welllll, frankly i have no idea. i kind of want to say yunho for ateez (not seonghwa, i know - a shocker). i just think he fits into the military vibe a bit more. for bts though... maybe hobi? honestly i think they do have a similar vibe kinda (which is surprising since hobi is my ult with yoongi, while yunho isn't on my bias list at all even tho he tries very hard haha). they're both like the goofs who are very capable of having a darker side, also they're both great at supporting the leader

the doctor - every crew needs a good healer that patches everyone back together, and for bts i volunteer yoongi on the position, and i think in ateez i would choose seonghwa! yoongi would definitely be the more 'i'm done with your bullshit why are you always hurt' doctor, while seonghwa would probably just be super exasperated with everyone being reckless!

the navigator - hmmmmm.... okay let me cook on this one... for ateez probably yeosang, i think he'd fit well to that. he just has that 'secretly a genius but no one knows because he almost never speaks, and when he does it's dumb' vibe and i think a navigator that's obsessed with space and stars would fit that. i think in bts i'm having a bit more trouble choosing, but based on what i said about yeosang, i'm choosing taehyung! he just gives the space nerd vibe, i'm sorry

the weapon's master - well, for ateez this is most definitely jongho. that man is dangerous even without weapons present, and in a story like this he fits the vibe of a gun nut. also he does seem like someone who'd genuinely like spending hours toying with every little bolt and gun part, even experiment to make different newer models. based on that, at first i wanted to say jimin for the weapon's master for bts, but i think i'm changing my answer to jungkook, who defintely has a bit of an unhinged weapon scientist vibe going on. also they're both the youngest hehe

the engineer - so this was supposed to be jungkook's spot, but i was undecided between him and jimin, and i think jimin could definitely be an engineer in a story like this. he's fun, he's slick, he's walking around in coveralls all greased up, i'm up for that haha. he's all about that subtle strength, lean muscle and keeping things in order because everyone else is being an idiot. for ateez though... i think i'll go with sannie (my first thought was mingi, but i think he has a totally different vibe from jimin). he can also have that slick vibe and he just seems like he could be an engineer in a story like this (i can definitely imagine him like that damn). he's a little less sassy than chim, but he'd definitely be done with everyone's bullshit while fixing every crisis haha

the cook - so this will be a more stereotypical answer again, but honestly it just fits - definitely wooyoung and seokjin, the two cooking divas keeping everyone together while being as dramatic as possible, subtly caring for the crew (with the doctor as well) and keeping up the morale with their humour and antics

okay, and this time mingi is the odd one out, so let's quickly think of a role for him to fill! i think maybe if they have like a greenhouse on the ship (not unlikely if they want to be self-sufficient with food), he'd be like the botanist or something, taking care of plants or crops, kind of keeping to himself and his greenery, or alternatively he could be a second engineer, i can definitely imagine a bigger ship needing two! (and mingi and sannie are a very good duo hehehe)

at the top I’m gonna say, the male lead bobbys I’ve seen tend to play him very detached and a little low energy, the female lead bobby of this production was more high energy and emotive—a lot of times she’d do the energetic grin + thumbs up to get through a tense situation lol. also, some couples were genderswapped and some weren’t, which was really interesting—original company had 3 women who were neurotic, which, 60s/70s vibe, a bit of misogynistic character archetype. flipping the genders so it was neurotic men and carefree(/dirtbag) women made it a lot more interesting, and honestly, felt a lot more New York. lol. I think I’m just gonna go through it all

act 1

The initial set is a small white room with the edges lit, kind of a shadowbox/diorama vibe, it was really cool. plus outside the room was super dark so it was easy for people to disappear and reappear, really strong atmosphere

this doesn’t make much sense without a visual, hang on

After ‘company’, everyone but bobby leaves the set, and bobby tries to leave from the 3 doors in the room, but none of them open; as she kinda freaks out about it, the room moves to the right, and a long living room set emerges from the back and then connects to bobby’s room, and when she walks in, the scene is frozen and set up for the sarah+harry scene—it only unfreezes when she takes the glass that harry’s offering

THE VIBES

also, in the middle of the living room is a painting with a faint 35 visible (lol)

sarah+harry’s roles aren’t switched, it’s basically the same as ML bobby productions—but whereas some other productions clearly have harry as Kinda Chauvinistic, this production actually has no misogyny vibes and it’s because this harry has the same kind of unhinged energy as sarah. so when sarah goes like ‘he *insisted* on taking the drunk test’ he goes ‘AND I FLUNKED IT!! :D’ waving his hands enthusiastically. plus some of the more overtly chauvinistic lines were cut, like this Harry doesn’t say that one line that goes ‘let me see how you’re wasting my money’ he’s just purely goading sarah. really funny scene.

for ‘the little things you do together’, the other couples burst through the door and dance around as harry and sarah wrestle, which was hysterical. plus somewhere in the middle harry and sarah just start making out while bobby watches in shock

actually, random note, joanne enters the scene and starts singing alone, larry comes in silently and hands her a glass; in general the staging has joanne and larry either on opposite ends of the set, in parallel, or on either side of bobby, and I thought that was good attention to staging

the next scene is the one with peter and susan, their roles were reversed do peter is the one who fainted 4 times in one night and susan is the one leaning over the banister and yelling at the neighbors. really enhances the vibes imo. the thing is, when they do their whole “well, you’re the first to know! we’re getting a divorce!” they freeze in place and bobby’s the only one moving—she says her lines while also poking their frozen forms and being very ‘wtf??’ before she ends up putting her glass on susan’s outstretched palm and running to the next scene

the scene with jenny and david is swapped so that david is the square and jenny is the one who sometimes wishes she were single for an hour. again, I feel like the flipped dynamic is interesting and also reduces some of the misogynistic vibes from the original. this is actually the only set piece that doesn’t have the lightbox vibe, it’s just 3 doors of an apartment exterior

the middle door had ‘thirty five’ above it

these are also the doors that andy (april), theo (kathy), and PJ (marta) burst through for ‘you could drive a person crazy’

PJ had a very punk/grunge look, fun contrast to andy’s crisp flight attendant uniform and theo’s dorky loose tie/open vest combo

so I think this production did a really good job of not having bobby pressured in a misogyny way and updating certain beats for sensitivity: 1) during the section where the exes hurl insults at ML bobby, the exes air grievances in a way that’s more neutral/lateral in terms of power—andy says “you ghosted me!” and theo says “I opened up to you!” and PJ says “we had a chlamydia scare!” (also in the first scene with the voicemails PJ has one about the test being negative); 2) original company has “I could understand a person/if he happened to be gay” as very clearly a pointed/vindictive statement, in FL bobby production the exes kinda turn to each other and go like “d’ya think?” “maybe?” “nah” (<- PJ, very clearly a guy in the queer scene) so it does feel more like them at the conspiracy board and genuinely trying to figure out ‘why is she like this’; 3) for the line “I could understand a person/if she wasn’t good in bed” there’s an aside wither the exes go like “but she’s so good!” “yeah, no shit” and I feel like it hits amatonormativity without any misogyny since it emphasizes mutual enjoyment without derogatory framing. was a really funny number, they did great

for another hundred people, they had this thing where each letter of ‘company’ was a moving set piece and everyone showed up in different outfits to simulate a bunch of random new yorkers���I think everyone with distinctive hairstyles (joanne with her silver hair, susan with her blue hair) should’ve had a hat because they did not come across as ensemble lol. the moving set pieces were okay, I didn’t particularly care for them (plus the letters would scramble so I’d be staring at CPMOAYN during a segment of bobby talking to an ex) (but at the end of PJ’s scene it spelled out nyc lmao)

not getting married was. amazing. the priest that sings was rolling in on a big floral heart arrangement and kept going against the conveyor belt to finish her line, she pops into the scene which makes jamie shriek (stealing a bottle of alcohol on her way out), she pops out of the fridge making jamie shriek, when everyone pops into the scene she pops up wearing the cake as a hat… it was so funny. in general, jamie’s manic energy is turned up to 11 and he is just screaming at everything

wait, that reminds me, when they had ‘have I got a guy for you’ I thought it was fun how it was all the wives And Jamie

So when jamie cancels the wedding, in this production paul runs out crying, which I didn’t actually like—shock/understated reaction went a lot further especially in contrast to jamie/amy’s manic energy

it’s also an interesting dynamic with FL bobby proposing to a man in a relationship with another man—it’s like the option to reinforce heteronormativity/amatonormativity

ok for I’m ready first of all FL bobby stumbles over the lyrics at the end of it (iirc) which is really fun, and ACT ONE ENDS… WITH BOBBY WATCHING HER ROOM ROLL BACK ONSTAGE… SEEING HER BODY DOUBLE BLOWING OUT THE CANDLES OF THE CAKE… it was so existential horror I loved it

well I wanted to write all my thoughts but if I do I won’t get any sleep so I’ll get to what I remember of act 2 when I wake up good night

okay I had my doubts about female lead company but it was really interesting and cool (and they did in fact update ‘you could drive a person crazy’ since the first female lead cast album) (no ‘feminist (derogatory)’), and they made existential metafictional horror a lot more overt, it was super interesting (the set was REALLY fun). I gotta get home and gather thoughts and decipher my incomprehensible notes (lol)

Bad Batch Reacting to Shy Significant Other (s/o)

Tech

I feel like it's fanon that flirting goes right over Tech's head even when it's explicitly like "hey tech you're hot". And honestly, I see it. So with that in mind, it takes an even longer spell of mutual pining than usual before feelings are confessed and relationship is established. But to save you from that 100K word torture, we'll go for an established relationship here.

Tech finds his s/o's shy nature a really nice contrast to his loud abrasive brothers. It's honestly like a breath of fresh air to him. When he wants peace and quite, he always goes to his s/o.

Having said that, his s/o is also a fantastic listener, so sometimes he'll run up to them super excited and giddy with information. Unlike his brothers, his s/o has the time to listen.

Having a shy s/o also helps Tech develop much better social skills. He gets so much better at reading body language since sometimes his s/o is either too shy or too content to listen to his voice to interrupt him when they're tired or sick.

He doesn't really dot over his s/o but Tech definitely loves to just be in their presence.

The only time his s/o is really loud is when they're super proud. Tech will build something in record time that saves the team and his s/o would be like "YEAH! THAT'S MY MAN!" and plant a phat kiss on his lips in front of all his brothers. Both Tech and s/o immediately go silent and wide eyed as the adrenaline fades and his s/o realises they have an audience. Tech's face would glow a gorgeous red while his s/o smiles shyly at everyone as they laugh at their enthusiasm.

Hunter

Again with Hunter, and really all the boys I reckon, his s/o's shyness is a really sweet relief from the high volume he deals with on a regular basis.

What Hunter loves about his s/o, is they often express their love through just helping out and doing anything they can to make Hunter's job a little easier. There's a wordless exchange of just Hunter and his s/o looking after each other and loving each other through acts and service. Kind of like an "actions speak louder then words thing".

His s/o’s not quite so bold as to explicitly say how much they love him, and they're not always confident enough to initiate any physical affection, but Hunter knows. He knows what it means and it does not go unappreciated.

S/o's shy nature also seems to draw Omega's curiosity. Over time, it's actually Meg who ends up bringing Hunter's s/o out of their shell a little more which he finds so sweet. He loves that those two get along so well.

I think Hunter would also be a lot more protective over a shy s/o as well. He would also very quickly learn to be more gentle.

The moments in between chaotic missions when his s/o just plays with his hair gives Hunter life.

Wrecker

OH MY GOODNESS! He's Like So GeNtLe???

Sometimes he might tease his s/o a little "awww you're not gonna go all shy on me again are ya?!!". But he honestly thinks it's so cute.

Wrecker is a pretty giving guy, so I feel like he would always be showering his s/o with compliments but just never expecting them back.

Until one day his s/o does compliment him back and he just lights up and lets out a hoot of laughter as he picks them off their feet and squeezes them in a tight hug which makes his s/o giggle.

I kind of see him being as gentle with his s/o as he is with Omega.

He's always so encouraging. Whether his s/o wants to try new things like going out dancing or just stay in the Marauder and have a snuggled up holovid night, Wrecker is always onboard.

Now, usually Wrecker is quite loud but, whenever his s/o talks, he just goes so quiet. He loves the sound of his s/o's voice and doesn't want to miss it.

He also loves cuddles. Sometimes his s/o is too shy to ask, but when they just stand in front of his bunk silently, he knows it's a silent request for cuddles. He'll scoop them up and wrap them with love.

Echo

I think being the only reg in the bad batch would make Echo feel kind of lonely sometimes. He's different from the regs but also from tbb. So with that in mind, I think Echo would find great comfort and companionship in a s/o.

His shy s/o is such a good listener and becomes his confidant.

Echo's character has also given me shy vibes from time to time so I feel like there might be some similarities of character?

I think Echo is also quite good at reading people and emotion so often he just knows when his s/o is sad/tired/sick/etc. which is good since his s/o is sometimes too shy to divert any attention to themselves.

Echo often seems to put on a bit of a tough guy persona to fit in with the bad batch, but with his s/o, that all fades away. His s/o's genuine attitude encourages him to be himself again. Sometimes he'll act similar to how he was before the citadel.

He speaks softer and seems happier with his s/o.

I think both Echo and his s/o would also be quite reserved and shy with physical affection. Their relationship is probably predominately emotional. But every now and then, they share little kisses on the cheeks or a peck on the lips. And honestly? Echo couldn't ask for anything better.

Crosshair

Crosshair has always been more of an introvert, so being in a relationship was never going to be a smooth transition. I think at first Crosshair would find his s/o's shyness annoying. But their gentle demeanor would grow on him over time. (This is before they were together).

Eventually he'd find himself spending more and more time with his s/o, enjoying being in their presence as he writes reports or cleans his blaster. And before he knows it he's got this (kinda nice feeling?) weird feeling in his stomach and actually even stumbled over his words once when speaking to them.

Once they finally get together, I feel like (similar to Hunter) he would be super protective of his s/o too.

Crosshair also isn't much for words, so when he wants his s/o's attention he'll kind of like h o v e r . Which his s/o finds so cute.

Eventually though, he'll run out of patience if his s/o doesn't respond so he'll just start getting really snuggly and touchy until his s/o finally caves and gives him attention.

His expressions and voice are always softer towards his s/o. His brothers notice but know better than to bring it up.

I also really want to see Azriel and his mom.

god what ISN'T my unpopular opinion. hm. i think feyre's whole reasoning for wanting a baby out of seemingly nowhere is dumb. like i get it, yolo, life can be cut short, but like i really do not feel like she picked a good time to have a baby, nor do i think she is remotely ready to be a mother. when she realized she wanted kids in acofas, it wasn't a strong enough argument for me to actually like get behind her decision.

Maybe like the reader is a security guard that also works in Cheren’s school and just makes sure the kids don’t go batshit crazy. They’re usually very stoic and serious but once Cheren started interacting with them reader just kinda started to warm up to him and even started to smile more because of him. Maybe it ends with the reader trying to ask him out idk something like that?

SFW Cheren: Security Guard

Cheren at first was just not interested in the least. Security guards kind of come and go all the time, it was one of those jobs, and he respected it but never made an effort to actually befriend them before.

That was until he heard one of the kids saying they were literally scared of you. Being the responsible teacher he decided to look into you and noticed you weren't exactly scary but...unapproachable. Very stoic, silent, didn't smile but you were gentle and did a good job. The kids were actually behaving a lot better with your presence around.

He did keep a close eye on you though, just in case.

One of those days that Cheren was at school late finishing paperwork you had gone to his class, preparing to lock the building up, and doing a final check through to make sure no students or teachers were left behind. Cheren hadn't actually been anticipating seeing you and you scared him half to death.

You apologized in your emotionless way and Cheren told you he was heading out. That was until he noticed a Pokémon you kept with you. Near your head buzzed a shining cutiefly and Cheren had questions.

First off, were you from Alola? He had seen the Pokémon in trainer guides to other regions, but never actually saw one. Second, how did you get a shining one? They were incredibly rare. He had a lot of questions and you were honestly caught off guard by it all.

The two of you ended up spending about three hours and by the end of it, you had visibly relaxed a bit more around Cheren.

After that it became almost ritual for you to find Cheren trying to finish work and chilling with him while he finished up, making casual conversation while your partner Pokémon did whatever it wanted in his classroom.

You eventually also caught feelings and were like five percent sure that maybe he returned them.

Really there's only like one way to find out though.

A fan of shooter platform games, like Metroid and stuff: he likes the intense stories. A fan of Metal Gear too. But he also rules at those fighting games like Mortal Combat and those. A God of War pro. He's a very good player but everything Makoto is not: fan of scary games. He plays games like Doom, Batman Arkham, you know? He likes darker games.

Nagisa and Rei:

RPG DUO, Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem, yes please, strategy fights and cool characters, you bet this two are up for it. I do think they play them together and Rei has to carry the team.

Nagisa loves dance games.

And Rei is also into puzzle games like Sudoku and stuff when he travels.

Asahi:

I kinda see him as a popular game fan guy, like FIFA, Call of Duty, Halo, and the Assassin’s Creed saga. He tries to play racing games or shooters but unless he plays with his friends he's not very good, Makoto is more than happy to play with him all the time.

Ikuya:

I feel like he’s a platform-puzzle kind of guy, but a bit more intense, and he’d like games like Portal and Bioshock. I feel like he got into advetury games because of his brother and evetually got into games like Far Cry. Very good at racing games as well, but he is more agressive about it, like crashing against other cars.

Hiyori:

Probably just does some phone games, he likes puzzles but sucks at actual videogames. Maybe Mario games, but he’s still very bad. Maybe those LEGO game s because they don’t tend to be too hard. He’s the kind to lose on the same spot over and over. You don't want him on your team ngl. Poor Ikuya has to carry the team.

Kisumi:

Funny games, like untitled goose game, undertale, that one KFC dating sims. The more absurd the game is, the better. Just like with basketball, he tries to make everyone play them (Makoto always being the one that tags along).

Natsuya:

PUBG, and any cool games, like The Last of Us, Uncharted, it’s not like he has a genre, but anything he finds cool. I see him playing a lot of fighting games, like God of War or the Mortal Kombat franchise. I picture him as the kid that went to play to the arcade games like Street Fighter as a kid.

Nao:

He’s probably the only one who doesn’t give me any gamer vibes, so maybe just mental puzzles like 2068 and such to kill time. Fucking psycho is a top notch gamer and can play even horror games with a straight face.

Momo:

He’s a Minecraft kid, also lowkey Fornite fan with his friends too. Plays a lot of dancing games with Nagisa as well. He was one of those kids fan of Fight Nights at Freddy's, I'm willing to bed money.

Seijuro:

Like his bother he likes horror games, but... Actual horror games, you name it. Outlast, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and so. Unlike Nao he do gets scared but still plays non stop to push his own limits like a masochist. He’s a fucking madlad.

Nitori:

Little farm games are his jam. He’s not a very intense guy so he’ll be chilling with Animal Crossing villagers or Farmville.

Things they play together:

Play Station movies 😂 I mean, games like Until Dawn, Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain, Detroit Become Human.

Although they cover the youngers ones’ eyes because of the sensible material.

Makoto joins that group because he gets either scared or flustered.

But they absolutely love the stories, the control usually stays on the hands of Rin, Haru, Sousuke and Asahi while the others screech intructions.

Nintendo Games

Okay, I'm a Nintendo SIMP so I like to think this guys are too, especially they like games where they can play together.

Mario Kart: Chaotic game nights, bunch of screaming and laughing, there's a lot of harmless fighting in and out of the game, blueshelling the 1st place will get you tickled silly or a smack on the face with the biggest pillow in the room.

Mario Party: Of course they can't play all together but they probably have at least 3 consoles among the like... 14 guys, so they can play different matches in all. There's a lot of screaming during the minigames or the duel slots and people start stealing stars.

Zelda: They all adore The Legend of Zelda, but I'll make a post for that exclusively.

Smash: They all love it. Absolute fighting chaos, and they all love it.

Haru: All-Rounder, mains Pit and since he manages fighting both face to face and from a distance he's pretty dangerous.

Makoto: All but tricky, he’s fucking scary. Because besides a few exceptions he can choose random and he'll win 1st or at least 2nd place.

Rin: Speed or All-Rounder, because of course he is. He probably mains the swordsmen like Ike.

Sousuke: Power and Range. He tanks, he can take a lot of hits and do a lot of damage, but he's pretty easy to hit. Mains the Pokémon Trainer (Charizard) and Simon.

Nagisa: Technical, he plays a lot with circumstance and can adapt with the charavter, probably mains Shulk or Zelda.

Rei: Technical and Defensive, he's very strategic and is the one that hits and evades, he doesn't make a lot of his but when he does their scary combos, his main is Sheik or the Eartbound kids.

Asahi: All-Rounder and Range, he probably fights head on and gets trapped in combos a lot. I feel like he mains Mewtwo because he thinks that'll give him some advantage.

Ikuya: Defense, he can fight you like a man, but has to load combos, totally see him maining Samus (all, normal, Zero Suit and Dark)

Hiyori: Tricky and Range, and he’s a projectile spammer, that fucking asshole, lmao, otherwise he can’t stay on the arena for too long though. Probably mains like Bowser Jr.

Natsuya: Power, he can take you down after a few hits, mf does a stupid amount of grabs and I hate it. Doesn't really main, but can handle all the Power types.

Nao: Balanced (not a type), he probably grabs funny looking character and somehow still kicks your ass. He plays with the comic additions like Pirahna plant, the Wii-fit trainers, etc.

Momo: Speed, runs around the course and grabs all the items, his giggles a lot when he manages to take down the stronger players with the hammer. He mains Sonic, Pikachu and the Mario characters because he loves 'em.

Seijuro: Power, he lets you hit him so he can fight with a lot of damage to see if he can survive, he's insane. Mains Bowser.

Nitori: Defense, at least he has the decency to not spam the projectiles like Hiyori. He’s just too nervous at this kind of thing.

Kisumi: Technical, he's weirdly good at it, but he doesn't care much about winning so sometimes will grab a character and do a kamikaze to take them down with him. His main would be Pacman or like the Minecraft dude (Steve?), because it's funny.
