Just because someone can take care of themself, it doesn’t negate the value of caring for them.

I feel that the act of letting someone take care of you, surrendering to them, trusting them, letting yourself fall completely into their hands, but knowing it’s a choice and you could get up and do it yourself, is so much more intimate and meaningful than being cared for out of necessity.

Not to say that isn’t meaningful, but idk, its just so special when someone is caring for you not because they know if they didn’t take on this work you would succumb and wither, but simply and purely because they want to.
