Re-watching SU is crazy when you realize all those silly early episodes were not filler episodes to show what the gems and Steven were capable of but were actually foreshadowing what would soon come to happen as well as providing examples of what already happened in the history of the gems before Rose decided to take herself out of the picture... it's all so poignant to re-watch now that I am older and have experienced more myself.

Was the moral of Barbarian (2022) that you should never help or care about anyone but yourself because everyone was seemingly punished for being kind in that film.

She was punished for going back for Keith, she was punished for going back for TJ, the homeless guy was punished for helping her and even the inbred "monster" was punished for caring about her at the end. If that's the message...good job I guess???
