Ok, but I've literally never seen this actually said, so I want to point it out. Until Dawn is the only piece of media I've ever encountered that has wendigos that look like wendigos. Like old, traditional ones. Original legends tend to describe them as being very thin, deteriorating, pale humans. Sometime I don't know when, around when Hollywood got ahold of them, they started getting mixed up with other monsters. The early internet horror didn't help, with all the skinwalker stuff that was going around, and eventually, we were left with the big, hairy thing with the deer skull for a head as a wendigos in most things and depictions(ex pet semetery) and some just weird ones like Ravenous, where they look like normal humans. Until Dawn is the only thing I've ever seen make them look right

ALSO i'm genuinely obsessed with Fort. his AAC device. the way brandon doesn't actually let him go without it for very long because fuck that. also just the way he just gets to exist with those little references to Deaf culture, it's just really cool to see

Okay I have been thinking about how much I love the sandbuster recently and I want to talk about it really quick bc it's such a cool dragon
I don't actually care for it's design that much, but it's just so freakin cool
One thing I really really like about it is it has its huge treasure hoard type thing that's kinda reminiscent of old fairytales or whatever where dragons have their huge mountains of gold. That and I really like to imagine it sneaking out above ground and into the market at night (because it doesn't have to worry about the sunlight and it's less likely to be seen) and stealing sparkly things from the merchant's stands to put in its hoard
The other thing I really like about it is its blast. I don't know if it's actually been confirmed that it shoots molten glass, but it's heavily implied but either way that's awesome. Like it swallows sand and heats it in its belly and then it blasts molten glass at whatever threatens it

Sonic Prime has different tails for Tails' alternative selves
Tails Prime
Tumblr media
Big, fluffy, strong tails
Nine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Limp, small, weak tails
Mangey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rough, normal sized tails
And then there's Sails

who apparently figured out how to fly on his own
I just think this is a neat detail (that I only noticed with Mangey first)

so im curious, is ashfur in the dark forest (pre-the broken code)? does he still have the weird little control-possession powers over df cats? is he still possessing bramble, doing wacky shit in thunderclan?
also mildly unrelated. but what does mapleshade think of ashfur
Ashfur is no longer in the Dark Forest! But... I had to get rid of something that I love a lot to justify it; he no longer plots with Hawkfrost to kill Firestar. As a Hawkash lover it pained me but, it was for the best.
Ashfur is still a jealous, possessive ball of spite like in canon, but significantly more honorable. Enough to legitimately trick StarClan. Gooood-BYE "He Only Loved Too Much," you are NOT missed.
Bonefall Po3 (Specifically Cruel Season)
At the end of Bonefall Po3, he attacks the Three half out of jealousy, and half out of fear. He catches wind of the two prophecies; Fire and Tiger from TNP, and Kin of your Kin revealed near the end of Po3. He attacks Squirrelflight, telling her that if they had been his, they wouldn't have to die now.
She reveals the secret to throw him off guard; That her kittens with Brambleclaw are already dead (miscarriage) and the three are not his.
Also then she kicks him into the tree and knocks it over so the Three can escape the fire because it's my rewrite and I get to decide the anime battle choreography bullshit
Hollyleaf then kills him later, having already lost her mentor Brackenfur to the Eclipse battle and abandoning peace as an option. If she had not killed him, he would have been exiled for his attempted murder. Or, he may even still end up being exiled, and Hollyleaf does not think it's punishment enough. Still undecided.
Either way, this marks the beginning of the end of Bonefall Po3, which was relaxed and slice-of-life before this point. In my head I'm calling this "Plot Thickening" period 'Cruel Season', the name for the last book of canon Po3 that was cut by the publisher.
Bonefall TBC
Yep, he is still the Impostor... and he is brutal. Worse than canon. He actually cares about both possessing Squirrelflight AND legitimately enforcing the code.
Bristlefrost dies twice in this redux. Once during a horrific public execution to kick the arc off in earnest, and again to kill him for good. I initially planned for her to drown in a similar way to canon, but then I had a really cool idea that instead of drowning, this time she body checks him out of heaven.
So she burns up with him like a shooting star. Idk wouldn't it be fucking awesome if like once a year you could see Bristlefrost's Comet, or there was actually an impact crater somewhere on the map from this point on?
But anyway. Ashfur will have some control over ghosts, but I'm hoping to make it less than canon. I don't like how he was able to conjure up nameless rogues so you don't feel bad about the Warriors murdering random people :/
He won't be able to manipulate feelings that aren't already there. Hidden resentment, anger, despair, so on. Love being the antidote in ALITM was excellent you will pry Love and Friendship from my cold dead hands
Though I am also unironically considering giving Ashfur a Boss Form. I know it is silly. But multi-eyed, winged angel Ashfur would be cool man idk i like it when i get to smash my action figures against big monster

I find it interesting how Cub was barely able to get halfway into the evermoore before getting all skulked up, but Shelby was able to get to the very heart of the evermoore and was completely fine beyond the weird flashbacks. and the only part of that that makes me feel the gnomes might have been the ones who directly did the skulk thing is the ‘spread the souls’ bit, maybe they wanted to see other places and can use soul lanterns/torches for that purpose?
but what makes more sense to me is that there’s probably a secondary entity making up the fog doing the evil vibes and skulk bits. the reason Shelby was unaffected was because she’s been around long enough and has done enough good that the gnomes trust her, and do what they can to protect her from that other entity as a result (perhaps another reason would be the similarities to shrub and whatever was going on with the flashbacks, perhaps a part of shrub’s spirit or something is inside her?). Cub and everyone else who’s been lost to/skulked by the evermoore didn’t have this protection, and was easy pickings as a result.
perhaps the reason the being leaving the signs behind for her is getting so desperate is because they know that soon they won’t be able to touch Shelby and will be powerless to stop her from getting rid of them, whereas at the start they were merely toying with their food because they didn’t see her as a threat

well, since you're alright with it, i'm not gonna hold back lol
first of all, i just need to mention interstellar because i love that movie too. though for me it's less about the science and space and more about the way it's made. not to bring my passion into this but it's just such a great movie. the cinematography is fucking incredible and the story is just so insanely good.
continuing, wormholes are just so fascinating to me as a concept!! it would be so cool to find out if they're able to exist and especially if we could "create" them.
ganymede is another moon i think is super pretty to look at. i don't know how to explain it but i really love the way the surfaces look like their own little universes i guess??? that's the best way i can describe it lol
and titan really sounds interesting!! i'm definitely gonna look into the missions you talked about, would love to find out what they could find in samples from there.
last but not least, relating back to something you mentioned, but do you believe in life outside of our planet/solar system??? personally, i think there's actually a pretty high chance of us not being alone in the universe, especially because space is, like, big beyond comprehension lol for me, the thing is more about if we're ever going to be able to get in contact with other life forms (especially in a time were, like, both of us are still alive lol)
oh I wholeheartedly agree—the cinematography in interstellar is phenomenal. I don't know much about the subject, but, after I watched the movie, I turned to my friend and told him about the cinematic beauty of the movie. also!! never apologize about bringing your passion into the conversation!! I'd love to hear more abt the cinematography in interstellar :3
as for the story, I loved it so much. If I didn't major in astronomy, I was gonna major in creative writing. Like—writing is one of my biggest passions, and a common theme I like to both write about and read about is hope. And, ultimately, I feel like that's what interstellar was about. Hope. That no matter how dire it is, hope is always worth it.
Because the people on Earth could have given up and just lived out their lives and not tried. A lot of people wanted to do that. But Murph never gave up. The people chosen to find a new planet for humanity? They could have just gone with Plan B and started from scratch. But they didn't give up. And even after everything went horribly, they could have given up and tried to build on that barely hospitable planet. But they tried that crazy maneuver with using the black hole's gravity, and they didn't give up.
Not only does hope appeal to me in narratives, but it's a big part of why I love space. Space and space exploration in may ways is a representation of hope. At least in my mind.
I think that visually, there's a lot of beauty in a lot of planets and moon. I love the way you described Ganymede's surface :3
Extra terrestrial life??? I absolutely believe there's life out there. I did an entire school project on the statistics back in high school, but, statistically speaking, it's nearly impossible for there to be no life anywhere but this planet. Like you said, space is so big that people just can't truly comprehend it. And it's still expanding.
I think there are a lot of factors to consider when thinking about why we haven't run into any "intelligent" life. (in astronomy, the phrase intelligent life is used to mean life that both wonders about their place in the stars and has the means to send and receive signals from space).
Some of the more intriguing answers to this "paradox" (if life is abundant why haven't we seen it?) are the following:
a) maybe we're just not interesting enough to alien life to be worth communicating
b) it's possible that there's just no other life/intelligent life in this galaxy or even our cluster of galaxies
c) we don't know the timescale at which life exists on. everything we know about life in the universe comes from Earth, and we just haven't been around long enough to know. life on Earth has existed for an incredibly small amount of time. we don't know if life—let alone our definition of intelligent life—exists on a time scale of thousands of years, millions of years, or billion of years. if it's on the lower end of the scale, then it's possible that we just don't be around at the same time as other life (sad)
But, I don't know, I have hope. I have hope that one day humanity will meet other life. Maybe we'll create wormholes and travel to galaxy clusters far far away and find life there. Maybe life will find us. Maybe life in the universe is just beginning, and maybe everyone is simply around the same stage as us.
But I think it's so amazing that people have looked up and the night sky and wondered what's out there. Wondered who's out there. Is anyone out there? I mentioned this before, but space exploration to me is about hope. The hope that Earth wasn't a fluke and that other life does exist. The hope that maybe this—the wonder of space and the excitement at the prospect of life—can be something unifying. The hope that maybe someone else is looking up at different constellations asking the same question we are: are we alone? The hope that the answer to this question will be no.

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!
do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!

So if I were to take away from this moment something deeper than “man Sevika's a freak”, I'd point out that we've seen the same tactic not long before.
Tumblr media
What does this say about Caitlyn? She's fighting dirty. She's fighting like a cornered rat. She's fighting like a Zaunite.
And first of all there's hypocrisy. Caitlyn's been calling these people animals and monsters and whatnot but when placed in an identical situation she responds identically. Case in point: getting so mad at Jinx for terrorizing people out of grief that she goes ahead and starts to terrorize people out of grief. Sevika's expression afterwards is mostly “joke's on you I'm into that” but there's some surprise there too — you wouldn't expect that move from a Piltie.
Then there's desperation. Because she needs revenge; she needs it or she'll never ever forgive herself for what happened. So she'll throw away her morals and her dignity and just do whatever it takes to achieve the goal, whether it means chomping on someone like a feral raccoon or becoming a military dictator… which puts her in the same mindset as Zaunites, all of whom are desperate to survive and a lot of whom could never afford morals and dignity in the first place.
